## Transcript

[0:03] Speaker 1: So you've made it through three hours of the regular
[0:06] Speaker 1: show on terrestrial radio, and you wanted a little bit more.
[0:09] Speaker 2: So that's why you found the.
[0:10] Speaker 3: Gun Talk After show podcast.
[0:11] Speaker 1: Where we saved all the best things that we can't
[0:14] Speaker 1: say on regular radio. Now here's Tom, Michelle and Jim
[0:17] Speaker 1: for the gun Talk after Show.
[0:21] Speaker 3: All right, let's do this after show thing because we've
[0:23] Speaker 3: already done the front show. Who set the before show
[0:28] Speaker 3: pre show or whatever, which is different from pre ignition,
[0:33] Speaker 3: So we don't want that. Oh no, that would be bad.
[0:35] Speaker 3: All right, you got me, Jim and Michelle, Hello, my friends.
[0:38] Speaker 1: Oh and happy Father's Day to everybody, especially both of you.
[0:41] Speaker 4: Here with.
[0:43] Speaker 3: That's right, we are both fathers.
[0:45] Speaker 2: Who we are there? You go to different kids in
[0:48] Speaker 2: the lives. Okay, that's good, and that's a good thing.
[0:52] Speaker 3: Kind of like your brothers from another mother. A whole
[0:56] Speaker 3: different deal.
[0:56] Speaker 2: I don't know, but I wonder if I wonder if
[0:59] Speaker 2: gregor talk our fathers. We're about to find out.
[1:01] Speaker 3: Huh, I'm guessing. So, but let's go to Grega in Helena, Montana. Hey, Greg,
[1:06] Speaker 3: you're on after show. What's up?
[1:08] Speaker 5: Yeah, let's just tell you a story. My father was
[1:12] Speaker 5: a land surveyor, a civil engineer. And when I'm thinking,
[1:18] Speaker 5: when I was about sixteen, somewhere around there, we went
[1:22] Speaker 5: to range. He had his Springfield three y odd six
[1:27] Speaker 5: and we were shooting at the range there. And now
[1:31] Speaker 5: I'm like you, I'm right handed, but left eye.
[1:34] Speaker 3: So hey, Greg, can you hear me? Let me get
[1:36] Speaker 3: you a stop for just a second. You don't happen
[1:38] Speaker 3: to have a radio plan in the background, do you.
[1:40] Speaker 5: In the other room?
[1:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, we can hear it through here, be possible in
[1:45] Speaker 3: our room now, yeah, yeah, I'll.
[1:49] Speaker 5: Be right there. I'm going to put the phone down and.
[1:51] Speaker 3: Shut the door. Sure, why not? Yeah, it's the after show.
[1:55] Speaker 3: We could hear it.
[2:02] Speaker 5: How's that?
[2:03] Speaker 6: What? Oh?
[2:03] Speaker 3: Much better? Thank you?
[2:05] Speaker 4: Okay, all right, I ask you the third hour of
[2:10] Speaker 4: your show is on the radio now because we don't
[2:15] Speaker 4: I don't get it live.
[2:17] Speaker 3: Yeah, sometimes they do a time shift. Okay. So all right,
[2:20] Speaker 3: So when we last we left this story, you were
[2:22] Speaker 3: head to the range.
[2:24] Speaker 5: Yeah anyway, you know, I was trying to shoot this
[2:30] Speaker 5: right handed bolt, you know, but with my left eye anyway,
[2:36] Speaker 5: And like I say, I was about fifteen at the time,
[2:38] Speaker 5: and and we're about the same age. Now I'm seventy four.
[2:43] Speaker 5: So anyway, it was a while ago. My dad pointed out,
[2:49] Speaker 5: he pointed up the hill and he said, see that,
[2:52] Speaker 5: see that white thing up there on the hill. And
[2:54] Speaker 5: I said yeah, And he says, that's a car. It's
[2:56] Speaker 5: six hundred yards away. And like I say, he was
[3:00] Speaker 5: a surveyor, so he knew his distance is right off.
[3:04] Speaker 5: And he said and then he held up his hand
[3:07] Speaker 5: with his thumb and forefinger about four inches apart, and said,
[3:11] Speaker 5: I aim about this far above that car. And I did,
[3:16] Speaker 5: and uh, and I hit it first shot, but I.
[3:20] Speaker 3: Don't know was there anybody in the car?
[3:22] Speaker 7: Oh?
[3:23] Speaker 5: No, it was a target car.
[3:25] Speaker 8: Oh okay, it was good. Everybody was shooting at how
[3:30] Speaker 8: did Yeah it was you know, you're like shooting at
[3:36] Speaker 8: a steel, you know, except.
[3:38] Speaker 3: It was a car. But yeah, back way, and asked what,
[3:40] Speaker 3: we didn't have steel, but we had cars, old junk cars.
[3:43] Speaker 3: We can put him out, all right. So he just
[3:44] Speaker 3: basically said, hold about this far high and did you
[3:47] Speaker 3: hit it on the first shot?
[3:49] Speaker 4: Yep?
[3:50] Speaker 3: Nice? Wow.
[3:51] Speaker 5: Of course I probably couldn't couldn't do it today, But
[3:54] Speaker 5: that's beside the point.
[3:55] Speaker 3: But it's okay, you know what the deal is that
[3:58] Speaker 3: if you hit on the first shot, you put the
[3:59] Speaker 3: gun in as though. Hey I do that all the time,
[4:02] Speaker 3: No big deal, whatever you do, do not try the
[4:04] Speaker 3: second shot.
[4:06] Speaker 5: Right exactly exactly.
[4:10] Speaker 3: Now.
[4:10] Speaker 5: Several weeks ago, by the way, you were talking about
[4:13] Speaker 5: Buckskin Bill there on the Salmon River, and you know
[4:19] Speaker 5: Sylvan Hart anyway, you said that your your dad made
[4:22] Speaker 5: a video of when he was interviewing Bill. Yes, is
[4:27] Speaker 5: there any way I could look it up on the
[4:30] Speaker 5: computer or whatever and see that video?
[4:33] Speaker 3: Well, I don't know offhand, but I'm guessing if you
[4:38] Speaker 3: went to YouTube and put in Buckskin Bill in Gritz Gresham,
[4:43] Speaker 3: if it available, it would it would.
[4:44] Speaker 5: Be there, Okay, on YouTube.
[4:47] Speaker 3: Okay, I'm getting the only place I can think of
[4:51] Speaker 3: where and people just have grabbed videos from everywhere and
[4:54] Speaker 3: put them on YouTube. You never know. So yeah, well.
[4:58] Speaker 5: I don't do computer myself, but I'll go get the
[5:02] Speaker 5: people at the library to do that and see what
[5:04] Speaker 5: they come up with.
[5:05] Speaker 3: Well, tell you what, you know what? All right, now,
[5:08] Speaker 3: let's keep it on because I want to do this here. Yeah,
[5:11] Speaker 3: you're still there.
[5:12] Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, I'm looking at.
[5:15] Speaker 3: Uscam Bill, I'm on YouTube. Why not we do this?
[5:19] Speaker 3: This is great radio.
[5:20] Speaker 4: Right by the way in your neighborhood.
[5:28] Speaker 5: You know where Cottonwood, Idaho is, there's a place there
[5:32] Speaker 5: called Saint Gertrude's Museum. It's a content but they've got
[5:38] Speaker 5: a museum and I think that's free to go in
[5:41] Speaker 5: the museum. And I've been there years ago when I
[5:44] Speaker 5: used to live over in Idaho. In the museum, they
[5:49] Speaker 5: have some of buckskin Bill's stuff that he made, including
[5:54] Speaker 5: I think one of his rifles. So you may want to,
[5:58] Speaker 5: you know, go cruise in there and go check it
[6:00] Speaker 5: out yourself.
[6:01] Speaker 3: Okay, I found the video. Oh okay, and this is
[6:05] Speaker 3: really embarrassing. Yeah, guess where I found it?
[6:11] Speaker 1: On your your gun name the gun.
[6:14] Speaker 5: Talk page, gun talk page.
[6:20] Speaker 3: If you go to YouTube and you go to the
[6:22] Speaker 3: gun Talk media channel, or just I just put in
[6:27] Speaker 3: buckskin Bill Grits Gresham and it pops up and the
[6:29] Speaker 3: title of it is Homesteading in the Wilderness of Idaho.
[6:33] Speaker 3: But yeah, you just putting buckskin Bill gritz Gresham on
[6:36] Speaker 3: a YouTube search and it's the first thing that pops up,
[6:40] Speaker 3: and yeah, it's on the gun Talk page. And I'm
[6:42] Speaker 3: so embarrassed that I did not know that. How do
[6:45] Speaker 3: you spell your last name, it's a g R E
[6:50] Speaker 3: s h a mm. But I think probably if you
[6:55] Speaker 3: just put in buckskin bill and grits, that's all you made. Yeah,
[7:00] Speaker 3: it is that. It works that way too. Just put
[7:02] Speaker 3: in buckskin bill, grits.
[7:04] Speaker 5: And by the way, for another thing for you, if
[7:07] Speaker 5: you if you go to the museum, but there's a
[7:09] Speaker 5: book out written by Harold Peterson called Last of the
[7:14] Speaker 5: Mountain Men, And in that book there's a whole bunch
[7:17] Speaker 5: of pictures of stuff that he made, including a couple
[7:22] Speaker 5: pictures of you know, some of his rifles and stuff
[7:25] Speaker 5: that he made that are all different calibers and stuff.
[7:28] Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, he made those rifles. He was a fascinating guy.
[7:30] Speaker 3: His name was Sylvan Hart. Lived on the Salmon River actually,
[7:34] Speaker 3: uh was the main Yeah, the main fork of the
[7:36] Speaker 3: Salmon sure was. Uh so yeah, that's very cool. Well, look,
[7:40] Speaker 3: I hadn't even thought about that, didn't even know about that,
[7:43] Speaker 3: but yeah, there it is on our very own YouTube page.
[7:46] Speaker 3: Sorry about that. That's embarrassing. Uh, thank you, sir, I
[7:51] Speaker 3: appreciate that. Greg. Let's go grab Tom before he gets
[7:53] Speaker 3: bored and the goes was somewhere else, Tom and Fargo.
[7:57] Speaker 7: You there, sir, Oh, yes, I would never get with
[8:00] Speaker 7: you guys. It's always interested, especially the after shows. It's
[8:04] Speaker 7: really interesting.
[8:05] Speaker 3: That really doesn't speak well for you, You know that, right?
[8:08] Speaker 6: I was going to say, when did we put him
[8:09] Speaker 6: on that roll?
[8:10] Speaker 1: There's nothing going on in Fargo, evidently, hunt No, not.
[8:14] Speaker 7: Today, there is. It's longest day of the year, there is.
[8:19] Speaker 3: It only feels that way, right.
[8:22] Speaker 7: You were wondering about a father. I'm not one. I couldn't.
[8:26] Speaker 7: I'm in my wife and I couldn't, So we're not.
[8:30] Speaker 7: We don't have any kids, but we always wanted kids.
[8:34] Speaker 7: We were basically only kids we had. Her brother was
[8:37] Speaker 7: six years older than her and mine was seven years older.
[8:40] Speaker 7: We always wanted a big family. Never never could do it.
[8:43] Speaker 7: And we've been we just celebrated forty one years.
[8:46] Speaker 3: So yeah.
[8:49] Speaker 7: So but anyway, I've never bought a rifle. I've always inherited.
[8:54] Speaker 7: I'm not always, but I inherited all my dad's rifles,
[8:57] Speaker 7: and there weren't that many, but I have. And I've
[9:01] Speaker 7: got a twenty two that my dad never shot. I
[9:05] Speaker 7: inherited it from my grandfather, who never shot it. He
[9:09] Speaker 7: died before he could shoot it. And that was a
[9:13] Speaker 7: Winchester Model sixty three that's got ten ten shells in
[9:19] Speaker 7: the stock with the tube right, And the only thing,
[9:22] Speaker 7: the only thing I've had done. I went to a
[9:25] Speaker 7: gunsmith and shot it so much or wore out the spring.
[9:27] Speaker 7: He put in a new spring. Still shoot it's just five. Oh,
[9:31] Speaker 7: I take that back. I did buy I did buy
[9:34] Speaker 7: a Ruger all but that was also off grade, a
[9:36] Speaker 7: Model ten twenty two. I did buy a ten twenty two.
[9:41] Speaker 6: Everybody's got to have one of those, yeah.
[9:43] Speaker 7: Classic, Yeah, and my wife so I've got to sixty
[9:48] Speaker 7: three and my wife's got the model found from that
[9:50] Speaker 7: of sixty two that her dad bought with his first
[9:54] Speaker 7: paycheck from the WPA with his first paycheck kidding. Yeah. Well,
[10:04] Speaker 7: so unfortunately we don't have anyone to share these guns
[10:07] Speaker 7: with or pass them on to. I've got some friends,
[10:10] Speaker 7: but probably will do that. We've got a good friend
[10:13] Speaker 7: that is uh worked for the n ra A for
[10:17] Speaker 7: about ten years and thinking of going back, and so
[10:19] Speaker 7: he's got a connection to guns.
[10:21] Speaker 1: So I do too. But off air, I got good morning,
[10:26] Speaker 1: Happy to give you my information, Tom, And yeah, rightwo
[10:39] Speaker 1: who cares?
[10:40] Speaker 3: That's right? I can't have to any such thing.
[10:45] Speaker 7: But I just wanted to share that with you, with
[10:47] Speaker 7: everyone there.
[10:48] Speaker 1: That's awesome.
[10:49] Speaker 3: Thanks Tom. Yeah, and I like the idea of go
[10:52] Speaker 3: ahead and give them to somebody. If you're not going
[10:54] Speaker 3: to shoot him, you're done with them, give them to
[10:55] Speaker 3: somebody now and pass on the stories.
[10:57] Speaker 1: Yep. You know, if there was any youth in in
[11:01] Speaker 1: the area, or any nephews you know down the road
[11:04] Speaker 1: or nieces, you know that he could pass them on
[11:07] Speaker 1: to that's another good way of keeping them in the
[11:11] Speaker 1: family somewhat, you know.
[11:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I like it. You know, of course, the
[11:16] Speaker 3: problem is sometimes you don't have anybody who's interested in
[11:18] Speaker 3: guns family.
[11:19] Speaker 1: That is a problem. Sometimes you're right, Yep, it.
[11:22] Speaker 3: Is there, it is.
[11:23] Speaker 6: That's a blasphemy.
[11:25] Speaker 3: Well, you know, it's interesting him saying they didn't have kids.
[11:29] Speaker 3: Just think about that, thinking, yeah, but you know they are.
[11:33] Speaker 3: I think about my brother. My brother doesn't have any kids,
[11:37] Speaker 3: and yet he's put a number of kids through college.
[11:42] Speaker 3: I mean not I mean he had a restaurant for many,
[11:45] Speaker 3: many years and had a lot of young people working
[11:48] Speaker 3: at a restaurant and wouldn't want to call attention to it,
[11:52] Speaker 3: never told people what he was doing, but he basically
[11:56] Speaker 3: paid the tuition or a whole bunch of his employees
[12:02] Speaker 3: through the years through were at college students, just helping
[12:05] Speaker 3: him get through. And what was interesting is that he
[12:08] Speaker 3: had a whole bunch of them come back the years
[12:11] Speaker 3: later and just say, mister Kent, I just wanted to
[12:14] Speaker 3: let you know that you taught me what it was
[12:16] Speaker 3: to work, and you got me started and it made
[12:18] Speaker 3: a real difference in my life. You know, you don't
[12:21] Speaker 3: have to have kids to make an impression on.
[12:23] Speaker 1: Kids, right, I was going to say the same thing
[12:26] Speaker 1: and how much time we had, but definitely taking kids
[12:29] Speaker 1: on that are in your community. I mean, something like
[12:32] Speaker 1: that is pretty tremendous. But yeah, you don't have to have.
[12:36] Speaker 3: Your own you know, you could be a volunteer safety
[12:41] Speaker 3: instructor for instance, so you can get involved in the
[12:43] Speaker 3: four h program or the Appleseed program or Big Brother
[12:48] Speaker 3: Big Sisters.
[12:49] Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, Well, you know your conservation clubs, a lot
[12:53] Speaker 1: of them host you know, different types of learning sessions.
[12:57] Speaker 1: You know, if you want to learn how to shoot
[12:58] Speaker 1: with a twenty two or bow and arrow or whatever
[13:02] Speaker 1: it is. But yeah, there's always places if that's what
[13:05] Speaker 1: you're interested in.
[13:06] Speaker 3: Okay, So where would be a good place to start
[13:09] Speaker 3: if you say, okay, I'm mentioned in that, and where
[13:10] Speaker 3: do I go? Gun store? Maybe the local fishing game offices.
[13:17] Speaker 3: Where would you go to find groups like that?
[13:19] Speaker 1: Well, I guess I would start at your local ranges.
[13:22] Speaker 1: See what's there. You know, even if it's just a
[13:25] Speaker 1: matter of making sure that the kids have their gear
[13:29] Speaker 1: and they're on the line when they need to be,
[13:31] Speaker 1: or helping score targets at the end when they're turning
[13:34] Speaker 1: them in.
[13:35] Speaker 6: Hunder safety instructor, find one of them.
[13:36] Speaker 1: Hunter safety classes. I mean, you know every state hosts those.
[13:41] Speaker 1: You can become an instructor.
[13:42] Speaker 3: There and you don't have to be a cert of instructor.
[13:45] Speaker 3: They just need people to help out.
[13:47] Speaker 1: Anybody's right, right, Yes, you can just yeah, you can
[13:51] Speaker 1: just be a class helper basically if you wanted to.
[13:54] Speaker 1: But you know, there's a lot of people that don't
[13:58] Speaker 1: know how to hunt, and they're there's new waves that
[14:01] Speaker 1: kind of comes and goes all the time of kids
[14:04] Speaker 1: that want to learn how to hunt and maybe no
[14:06] Speaker 1: one in their family hunted. And if you're a hunter,
[14:09] Speaker 1: I think taking kids out on an apprenticeship is a
[14:12] Speaker 1: very way to pass things down. So you know, even
[14:17] Speaker 1: if you don't have time to go somewhere on Friday night,
[14:19] Speaker 1: I can't get there at six o'clock. You know, there's
[14:22] Speaker 1: lots of different ways you can give back.
[14:24] Speaker 3: Yep, oh, exactly, are right, lots of it. All right,
[14:26] Speaker 3: let's take a quick break because there's something I want
[14:28] Speaker 3: to bring up. I got a question for you. It
[14:30] Speaker 3: involves if you see something going on that's unsafe at
[14:33] Speaker 3: a range, what do you do.
[14:42] Speaker 9: From the range to the field. CZ firearms are built
[14:45] Speaker 9: to perform when it counts. Known for accuracy, durability, and reliability.
[14:50] Speaker 9: CZ stands apart. CZ built for those who demand more
[14:55] Speaker 9: czfirearms dot com.
[15:06] Speaker 3: All right, as we went to break, I teased this
[15:08] Speaker 3: idea and it actually I mentioned the talk I went
[15:11] Speaker 3: to yesterday when Amy Hoover was talking about safety after
[15:14] Speaker 3: her mid air collision. We were talking about people who
[15:16] Speaker 3: were doing unsafe things and airplanes and what do you do,
[15:19] Speaker 3: you know, do you go up and speak to them
[15:21] Speaker 3: that type of thing? All I was offering some thoughts
[15:23] Speaker 3: and now I was thinking, you know, we have all
[15:25] Speaker 3: seen people do things at range where you're going. That's
[15:29] Speaker 3: not safe, that's not cool. And the question is at
[15:34] Speaker 3: what point do you choose to intervene, get involved, and
[15:39] Speaker 3: if so, how do you go about that?
[15:41] Speaker 10: God thoughts you probably saw it every day show, right,
[15:44] Speaker 10: I mean that can be as sensitive approach, you know,
[15:50] Speaker 10: because obviously everybody or at least somebody has a firearm there,
[15:56] Speaker 10: and it doesn't just have to be on the range.
[15:58] Speaker 1: It can be in the woods. You know, you come
[16:01] Speaker 1: across somebody not doing something right. So I think it's
[16:05] Speaker 1: definitely a delicate handling. And you know, if it's something
[16:10] Speaker 1: that's extremely unsafe and it's going to potentially hurt them
[16:14] Speaker 1: or somebody else, I think it needs to be addressed.
[16:17] Speaker 1: But there's definitely smoothness that needs to go, a sense
[16:23] Speaker 1: of calm that needs to happen.
[16:26] Speaker 3: Okay, okay, And I was thinking about that and thinking,
[16:28] Speaker 3: you know, people, if they decide okay, I'm going to
[16:31] Speaker 3: be the person who does that, they need to have
[16:33] Speaker 3: a technique and a plan where you don't just walk
[16:37] Speaker 3: up and say hey, jerk right. Yeah, generally not received
[16:40] Speaker 3: as well as you think you want.
[16:42] Speaker 6: To lead with something like hey loser, that kind of yeah.
[16:45] Speaker 3: So yeah, you might go up and say, hey, what's
[16:47] Speaker 3: that gun? You're shooting there. Oh that's cool, you know,
[16:50] Speaker 3: you know, and look, hey, look by the way. One
[16:52] Speaker 3: of the things we do here. If you're at a
[16:54] Speaker 3: place where they don't have raine master or something, you know,
[16:57] Speaker 3: we when we are changing targets, we don't handle gun.
[17:00] Speaker 3: There's somebody down range, we don't do that. Or but
[17:03] Speaker 3: just if you had a way to start off and say,
[17:05] Speaker 3: you know, hey really like the gun, or so glad
[17:08] Speaker 3: you guys are here shooting today, but you could really
[17:10] Speaker 3: help us out, if you know, if you would do
[17:12] Speaker 3: this thing, it's just like, can you help me out?
[17:15] Speaker 3: Can you help us out? I don't know. It's just
[17:17] Speaker 3: an idea, a technique that you might have available if
[17:20] Speaker 3: you've decided to get involved or.
[17:23] Speaker 2: Lead with something along the lines of, hey, glad to
[17:25] Speaker 2: see you getting into shooting, because if they are getting
[17:26] Speaker 2: the shooting, they need the instruction. If they've been shooting
[17:29] Speaker 2: for a while, it's well you should have known.
[17:32] Speaker 6: What I'm about to tell you. Yeah you know what
[17:34] Speaker 6: I mean.
[17:35] Speaker 2: I mean, you can say I'm glad to see you
[17:36] Speaker 2: join the shooting sports I've been doing forever.
[17:38] Speaker 6: Oh okay, well here's like you said, that's how we do it.
[17:40] Speaker 4: Here.
[17:40] Speaker 1: I've never seen you here before. Are you new to
[17:42] Speaker 1: the range or you new to the club?
[17:45] Speaker 3: You say you know, well, then you should know better.
[17:49] Speaker 1: Right right. You definitely need to keep things from getting
[17:53] Speaker 1: a little heated and elevated. I think that's the biggest approach.
[17:56] Speaker 1: And you know, this is hard, like when you teach
[18:00] Speaker 1: hunters and safety instruction to the youngsters.
[18:03] Speaker 7: Even.
[18:05] Speaker 1: Oh, you mentioned deer camps, so you know, there's a
[18:07] Speaker 1: lot of stuff that happens in deer camps that shouldn't
[18:10] Speaker 1: happen in deer camp. Yes, yes, and that's.
[18:13] Speaker 3: Always I was lucky because I never went to those
[18:17] Speaker 3: kind of camps when I was growing up. But yes,
[18:18] Speaker 3: I know what you're talking about.
[18:19] Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's always a sensitive spot to try to
[18:22] Speaker 1: teach kids because how is this eight year old boy
[18:25] Speaker 1: going to come up to their dad or grandpa or
[18:28] Speaker 1: uncle or just a family friend and say, you know,
[18:31] Speaker 1: you've been drinking all night. I really don't think it's
[18:34] Speaker 1: the safest thing to be going hunting in the morning.
[18:37] Speaker 1: So it is really a difficult spot. So on the
[18:42] Speaker 1: flip side of that, putting kids in those positions you
[18:46] Speaker 1: know shouldn't happen either.
[18:48] Speaker 3: You couldn't. You should not expect kids to try to
[18:50] Speaker 3: correct anybody. I'm just talking about if you see something
[18:53] Speaker 3: going on, right, you know. And the other thing is,
[18:55] Speaker 3: like we've talked about it here at a place where
[18:56] Speaker 3: something really dangerous is going on, and then I would say,
[19:01] Speaker 3: just don't worry about somebody getting upset, just go up
[19:04] Speaker 3: and say, hey, you need to stop.
[19:05] Speaker 1: That now, right.
[19:06] Speaker 3: I mean, you know, even even if it means, okay,
[19:08] Speaker 3: one of us is going to be leaving here, but
[19:10] Speaker 3: I want you to know you need to stop that now.
[19:12] Speaker 3: That is not safe.
[19:13] Speaker 1: Right. There's a lot of morals and expectations that come
[19:17] Speaker 1: along with what we do because it can be unfortunately
[19:21] Speaker 1: deadly if it's done wrong.
[19:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, and yeah, you got to be prepared that if
[19:26] Speaker 2: you present some of that ultimatum one of us is
[19:29] Speaker 2: going to leave here, and don't go ahead and leave jerk.
[19:31] Speaker 1: Okay, Well, and lots of times, you know, you know, if.
[19:34] Speaker 3: You I would, I would never say one of us
[19:36] Speaker 3: is gonna leave. I'm just thinking in my head if
[19:38] Speaker 3: this doesn't correct the problem, i would never say that, Okay,
[19:42] Speaker 3: yeah you're gonna no no, no, no, no, no, I'm
[19:44] Speaker 3: in my head. I'm thinking I'm going to correct this
[19:47] Speaker 3: problem or I'm okay.
[19:49] Speaker 2: I thought you're gonna present him like one of us
[19:50] Speaker 2: gonna leave you in a box.
[19:57] Speaker 6: Well, you you got to.
[19:58] Speaker 2: Be careful because now that Trump's putting guns in potheads hands,
[20:00] Speaker 2: they're gonna have cannabis cafes at every gun range.
[20:03] Speaker 6: Now you know that goes.
[20:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, the reacts. What's been interesting. No, there's the interesting
[20:09] Speaker 3: part about this. On this case, it just got beside
[20:12] Speaker 3: of the Supreme Court where they ruled that no, you
[20:15] Speaker 3: cannot lose your gun rights just because you smoke grass now.
[20:18] Speaker 3: And then the blue state attorney generals fought this case
[20:24] Speaker 3: like crazy, the weirdest thing. They wanted to make sure that,
[20:33] Speaker 3: I mean, their support marijuana use and they don't like guns,
[20:41] Speaker 3: but they hate this decision. And so they all went
[20:45] Speaker 3: Stone coast silent after this, even though they should be
[20:48] Speaker 3: saying great, people who smoke marijuana now have their gun
[20:51] Speaker 3: rights back. But they can't be excited about anybody getting
[20:54] Speaker 3: their gun rights back. It's just like you really have
[20:58] Speaker 3: no integrity whatsoever.
[21:00] Speaker 6: Pressure blowing up in there, just expending.
[21:03] Speaker 3: The good dear, Oh my gosh, our people now can
[21:05] Speaker 3: have guns. That's the right, and we don't want them
[21:08] Speaker 3: to have that right and then yeah, they're gonna losing it.
[21:10] Speaker 3: So anyway, so while we're talking here, I'm now looking
[21:15] Speaker 3: at this video on YouTube that is on our website,
[21:18] Speaker 3: which our channel. Well who knew, but it's it's really good.
[21:23] Speaker 3: If somebody wanted to go look at this. This was
[21:26] Speaker 3: there was a TV show series called sports Field. It's
[21:31] Speaker 3: partadapt for sports Field Magazine and Dad was a host
[21:34] Speaker 3: of it. It's one of the many things he did.
[21:37] Speaker 3: But this thing was really well done. They went back
[21:39] Speaker 3: into the wilderness area in Idaho and shot this. Oh
[21:43] Speaker 3: then there's Dad ride a horse. I'm watching it right now.
[21:47] Speaker 3: So yeah, it's kind of as my wife has told
[21:49] Speaker 3: me many times, she says, you do understand that your
[21:52] Speaker 3: family is the most documented family anywhere. I mean, I
[21:56] Speaker 3: have videos and pictures of my dad to go back,
[22:00] Speaker 3: you know, eighty years, you know, because we're pictures of
[22:03] Speaker 3: him and magazines and such and all the TV shows
[22:05] Speaker 3: and then all the TV commercials and everything else. It's like,
[22:08] Speaker 3: you know, very few people have that kind of documentation
[22:12] Speaker 3: of their family, right.
[22:13] Speaker 1: You know, you talk about where Luck is and the
[22:17] Speaker 1: conversations that you had and maybe didn't have, but that
[22:21] Speaker 1: really is a blessing to be able to go back
[22:24] Speaker 1: and watch the videos. But it's not just watching him,
[22:27] Speaker 1: it's hearing the voice.
[22:29] Speaker 3: Well, isn't that true?
[22:30] Speaker 1: Which I think is why if you can, if you're able,
[22:34] Speaker 1: even if somebody else, you know, videos it for you.
[22:38] Speaker 1: If you can videotape a conversation, handing something down to somebody,
[22:43] Speaker 1: you know, stories or whatever it is, even if a
[22:45] Speaker 1: firearm's not involved, just handing down that information in your
[22:49] Speaker 1: voice of what a precious gift. And maybe when they're
[22:53] Speaker 1: the age of eight or twelve it might not matter,
[22:56] Speaker 1: but when they're twenty thirty years old, forty, maybe it's
[23:00] Speaker 1: definitely gonna matter. Yeah, and they're looking one more time
[23:03] Speaker 1: if you could hear the voice.
[23:05] Speaker 7: So true.
[23:05] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like these the old video or videos. It's
[23:08] Speaker 3: actually movies. Eight million videos. I just got digitized and
[23:11] Speaker 3: we're making them available to all the family and going
[23:13] Speaker 3: back and I have a whole bunch more preserving those.
[23:16] Speaker 3: But you know, it's funny you mentioned that, Michelle, You
[23:19] Speaker 3: are so right. The voice. Yeah, hearing your mother's voice,
[23:23] Speaker 3: hearing your father's voice. You know, it's one thing to
[23:25] Speaker 3: see the pictures. But boy, there's something about that voice
[23:28] Speaker 3: that just hits you, doesn't it.
[23:30] Speaker 1: Ye, that's to bring to yours in my eyes. I'm sorry,
[23:33] Speaker 1: that's all right, but absolutely, you know, there's a lot
[23:36] Speaker 1: of loss in life and it's part of part of
[23:38] Speaker 1: what we experience, but it's also the part of having
[23:42] Speaker 1: loved somebody so much. So you know, just put something down.
[23:46] Speaker 6: And appreciate them while you have them.
[23:48] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Yeah, oh yeah, I have to take
[23:51] Speaker 1: them to the grocery store. You know what, you get
[23:52] Speaker 1: to take them, You take them to take them.
[23:56] Speaker 3: That's true. Yes, you know, well, perspective, you are in
[24:01] Speaker 3: charge of your attitude. You're actually more in charge of
[24:03] Speaker 3: your environment in your world than you often are aware
[24:07] Speaker 3: or take credit for. Yeah, it's on it, you know.
[24:10] Speaker 3: Change if you don't like it, change it. But say, okay,
[24:13] Speaker 3: this is a wonderful thing, this is a gift, and
[24:14] Speaker 3: I'm not going to have this person forever because trust me,
[24:16] Speaker 3: you don't.
[24:17] Speaker 1: You don't. No, So yeah, if you can just change
[24:20] Speaker 1: that thought process in your head, you'll have a more
[24:23] Speaker 1: positive day, I guarantee it.
[24:25] Speaker 3: There you go, well with that, The happiest Father's Day
[24:28] Speaker 3: to everyone out there and to you guys, I know
[24:31] Speaker 3: it's and Michelle, thank you for what you do. Uh,
[24:34] Speaker 3: you know, people don't know all the stuff that you've
[24:37] Speaker 3: done and that you do for the shooting sports.
[24:39] Speaker 1: It's quite all right.
[24:41] Speaker 2: Oh I thought you're you're a criminal record. Oh have
[24:44] Speaker 2: no idea what she's really done.
[24:46] Speaker 3: Well, just visit the post office. You'll know it's there.
[24:49] Speaker 3: It is right there on the walls. Yes, you guys,
[24:53] Speaker 3: have wonderful week.
[24:54] Speaker 1: Take care of you two. We'll catch you next time
[24:58] Speaker 1: for the gun talk after show seven.
