[0:49] Speaker 4: You better buckle up because we got a lot to
[0:51] Speaker 4: talk about today. I am Tom Gresham. I am your
[0:54] Speaker 4: host is gun Talk, and we are live from Houston, Texas.
[0:57] Speaker 4: We're at the NRA's annual Meetings we call the Nation
[1:00] Speaker 4: in Houston Annual Meetings twenty twenty six, where we have,
[1:03] Speaker 4: of course a lot of things going on with the NRA.
[1:05] Speaker 4: We'll talk about that as well, but also we're in
[1:07] Speaker 4: the middle of a huge exhibit hall. It's kind of
[1:09] Speaker 4: a kind of a miniature Shot Show. The big difference
[1:13] Speaker 4: is you can go to it. At the Shot Show,
[1:15] Speaker 4: you have to be a part of the industry. Here
[1:16] Speaker 4: it's open to the public, and we've have tons of
[1:19] Speaker 4: people going through this and looking at all the cool
[1:21] Speaker 4: guns and accessories and Ammo and everything else, and a
[1:24] Speaker 4: lot of families, a lot of young kids.
[1:25] Speaker 5: It's great to see it's now.
[1:27] Speaker 4: The one thing I will tell you is that we're
[1:28] Speaker 4: going to have a whole stream of guest here and
[1:31] Speaker 4: we're really not set up to take a calls today,
[1:33] Speaker 4: so just kind of a heads up, so just sit
[1:35] Speaker 4: back and listen and enjoy. Now you're free to keep
[1:38] Speaker 4: asking questions of me. I just won't hear them, but
[1:40] Speaker 4: maybe if the telepathy thing works and maybe I'll pick
[1:43] Speaker 4: that up from you.
[1:44] Speaker 5: So there you go. If you would like.
[1:47] Speaker 4: You can also check out all the gun talk things
[1:49] Speaker 4: we've been shooting content some videos. We have hundreds and
[1:53] Speaker 4: hundreds of little short videos we've been shooting here. We'll
[1:55] Speaker 4: start uploading those shortly. They'll be out. Also able to
[2:00] Speaker 4: grab a couple of really important interviews I'll tell you about.
[2:03] Speaker 4: But let me just tell you right now. I chatted
[2:05] Speaker 4: with Harmy Dillon the Assistant US Attorney General in charge
[2:09] Speaker 4: of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice
[2:12] Speaker 4: and the Second Amendments Section. And also then right after that, unbelievably,
[2:16] Speaker 4: we've got Todd blanche He is the acting Attorney General,
[2:20] Speaker 4: replacing Pam Bondy, who got him in here. And I'll
[2:23] Speaker 4: just give you a little heads up on that. He's
[2:26] Speaker 4: part of the gun industry.
[2:27] Speaker 5: I did not know.
[2:28] Speaker 4: His family makes fire magazines and has for forty years.
[2:33] Speaker 4: So the new Acting Attorney General of the United States
[2:36] Speaker 4: of America is part of the gun business. Crazy did
[2:39] Speaker 4: not know that. All right, We're actually in the rugerbooth.
[2:42] Speaker 4: Our good friends at Ruger letting us hang out here
[2:44] Speaker 4: in broadcast here. So we're definitely gonna have some folks
[2:47] Speaker 4: from Ruger in here and maybe some news, but certainly
[2:50] Speaker 4: some things that you may have wondered about we'll be
[2:53] Speaker 4: talking about right now. We've got Rgie Stitt Joints as
[2:55] Speaker 4: he's the senior director of product Strategy.
[2:58] Speaker 5: Aregie. What is projects strategy.
[3:01] Speaker 6: Product strategy is that it's more than just building something
[3:06] Speaker 6: because you can build it, you need to build the
[3:09] Speaker 6: right things that the people are looking for at the
[3:11] Speaker 6: right time. Give people time to understand what new products
[3:17] Speaker 6: are out there before you pile on top.
[3:19] Speaker 7: Of it with something else.
[3:20] Speaker 5: Okay, So it's.
[3:22] Speaker 6: Basically we're doing life cycle planning of the firearms.
[3:27] Speaker 4: I've often said that I think that sometimes when you
[3:30] Speaker 4: put out a new product and you're involved in the company,
[3:34] Speaker 4: by the time it actually comes out, you've been working
[3:37] Speaker 4: on it for two, three, four, five years, and just
[3:40] Speaker 4: about the time it's really starting to catch people are
[3:43] Speaker 4: understanding what it is, you're tired of it, and you
[3:44] Speaker 4: move on to the next thing.
[3:46] Speaker 5: That kind of how it happens.
[3:47] Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[3:50] Speaker 6: You know, we've we built American pistols for a few
[3:53] Speaker 6: years and the guns themselves were great, right, but they
[3:57] Speaker 6: didn't sell very well, and we moved on to RXm,
[4:02] Speaker 6: you know.
[4:02] Speaker 4: Right, which is, by the way, a great pistol. I
[4:05] Speaker 4: think that I think it's a home run, absolutely.
[4:08] Speaker 6: I mean RXm is a very exciting product, basically a
[4:14] Speaker 6: Gen three glock style.
[4:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, but we worked with a chassis with a better
[4:18] Speaker 4: grip angle too, by the way.
[4:19] Speaker 5: Yeah, it's got a great it really works.
[4:21] Speaker 7: They shoot really well.
[4:23] Speaker 8: You know.
[4:23] Speaker 6: We partnered with Magpool to develop the frame or using
[4:27] Speaker 6: the Magpool magazines. That's always some of the hardest stuff
[4:30] Speaker 6: on a firearm is coming up with a magazine that works.
[4:33] Speaker 4: It's so weird. I mean, I bet I've heard that
[4:35] Speaker 4: half a dozen times of various booths here they'll say,
[4:37] Speaker 4: you know, we always start with a magazine.
[4:40] Speaker 5: What. Well, it must be true because you all say
[4:42] Speaker 5: the same thing.
[4:43] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[4:43] Speaker 6: Well, I mean, if you have something that works, stick
[4:45] Speaker 6: with it, right, why would you change from that?
[4:48] Speaker 5: And it's one of the hardest things to get right correct.
[4:51] Speaker 6: And then you have something like this that's readily available
[4:54] Speaker 6: in the marketplace that there's you know, dozens of people
[4:57] Speaker 6: that manufactured.
[4:58] Speaker 5: The millions of these magazines out correct.
[5:00] Speaker 6: So it gives it gives a consumer that's buying a
[5:03] Speaker 6: new gun a lot of options for aftermarket parts.
[5:07] Speaker 4: It's not proprietary, so you can use the magpot mags,
[5:10] Speaker 4: you use glock mags, you can use all the glock
[5:13] Speaker 4: clone mags. Like I say, everybody's making them. So there
[5:16] Speaker 4: you go. It's a great pistol. All right, But let's
[5:18] Speaker 4: talk about some of the things have been going on.
[5:20] Speaker 4: You guys bought a gun company for basically for the
[5:23] Speaker 4: manufacturing Facility's talk about that.
[5:27] Speaker 7: So We're very excited about it. The the eighty odd.
[5:31] Speaker 6: Employees that we were able to retain from the previous.
[5:35] Speaker 5: Owner, Anderson and Manufacturing, which made really good rs.
[5:40] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[5:40] Speaker 6: Well, you know, it's interesting. We went in there, we
[5:43] Speaker 6: spend a lot of time. The facility is absolutely beautiful.
[5:46] Speaker 6: The uh it's state of the art. It's a very
[5:51] Speaker 6: convenient location as it's sitting right at the end of
[5:53] Speaker 6: the runway at the Cincinnati Airport, right very gun friendly
[5:59] Speaker 6: Kentucky area.
[6:00] Speaker 7: Yeh.
[6:01] Speaker 6: But the guns themselves were not quite up to our standard.
[6:05] Speaker 5: Were not where you wanted them to be correct.
[6:07] Speaker 6: So we we bought the facility in July and we
[6:10] Speaker 6: didn't build the first gun until October. And now we
[6:14] Speaker 6: we spent all that time measuring and studying and updating
[6:20] Speaker 6: the processes to build the guns to our standards. So
[6:24] Speaker 6: the gun that you're buying today, we have two models.
[6:28] Speaker 6: One has some basic basic furniture on it and the
[6:31] Speaker 6: others have the upgraded magpool. They have two different handguards.
[6:34] Speaker 6: The one has the full twelve o'clock rail and the
[6:37] Speaker 6: other one is just a half rail, so it's a
[6:39] Speaker 6: little bit lighter. Depends on what you want. Two guns.
[6:44] Speaker 6: Both the cops six, both of them called the Harrier. Yep,
[6:47] Speaker 6: that's we rebranded. So we had the AR five five
[6:52] Speaker 6: six's for a decade that we built in our North
[6:55] Speaker 6: Carolina facility, and we've elected to shut that down completely
[7:01] Speaker 6: and build all of our modern sporting rifles in Hebron, Kentucky.
[7:05] Speaker 5: Okay, what about the s F A R.
[7:07] Speaker 7: S F A R is out of production right at
[7:11] Speaker 7: the moment, right, but that is uh.
[7:16] Speaker 5: Everything right now.
[7:17] Speaker 6: That is our number one priority for before the end
[7:21] Speaker 6: of the year to have s F A R back online.
[7:23] Speaker 5: All right, are you going to make that Hebron. It's
[7:26] Speaker 5: going to be in Hebrew as well, Hembur.
[7:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, the new plant there, yep, yeah, okay, because
[7:29] Speaker 4: I mean, I know there are a lot of people
[7:31] Speaker 4: are saying, Man, I like that rifle.
[7:33] Speaker 5: I can't believe it's not here right now.
[7:34] Speaker 7: I want to go back now. I bought one myself.
[7:36] Speaker 5: Yeah it was a nice rifle.
[7:39] Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a super super cool gun. You know, you
[7:42] Speaker 6: get that small frame, you know, instead of a.
[7:46] Speaker 4: Big heavy three you get a three eight AR in
[7:49] Speaker 4: an AR fifteen small frame, right. I mean, I don't
[7:51] Speaker 4: know how you did it, but if you did it.
[7:53] Speaker 8: It worked.
[7:54] Speaker 7: That works, and the and the guns work.
[7:55] Speaker 6: You know, it's a but we're trying to We're going
[7:58] Speaker 6: to have an updated, even better product when ever it
[8:00] Speaker 6: comes back fit.
[8:02] Speaker 9: We'll wait a little bit, save a little money.
[8:04] Speaker 4: There you go, all right, one of I mean, obviously,
[8:07] Speaker 4: the Ruber American Gin two is a runaway hit you
[8:11] Speaker 4: can't make enough of. And now you got, thankfully from me,
[8:13] Speaker 4: because I shoot off the left side. You got left
[8:15] Speaker 4: handed versions too.
[8:16] Speaker 7: We just launched some lefties.
[8:19] Speaker 6: This is part of the change of why we shut
[8:22] Speaker 6: down the AR five five six in our North Carolina facility,
[8:27] Speaker 6: because we're taking that machinery to increase production of Gen.
[8:30] Speaker 7: Two American rifles.
[8:31] Speaker 5: So way behind on them.
[8:33] Speaker 7: We're way behind, way behind. And all that.
[8:35] Speaker 5: Means is that the demand is demand is great.
[8:39] Speaker 6: I think there's a little it's hard to figure out
[8:41] Speaker 6: what the secret sauce is, but I think one of
[8:43] Speaker 6: the things that we've done there and what we've done
[8:46] Speaker 6: with the lefty is we've picked some We've followed some
[8:50] Speaker 6: niche calibers and stuff and anything that Horned Day comes
[8:55] Speaker 6: out with twenty two are six are you know? Three
[8:59] Speaker 6: three eight Dark Lake. We're building an American rifles. And
[9:03] Speaker 6: the following has been amazing. And that's why in the lefties,
[9:07] Speaker 6: we don't have a three eight today. Right, we're doing
[9:10] Speaker 6: three hundred blackout, we're doing five five six, we're doing
[9:12] Speaker 6: twenty two arc, we're doing we're doing stuff that's different
[9:16] Speaker 6: things in the marketplace.
[9:17] Speaker 4: Well, you're doing things that are selling. That's what people
[9:19] Speaker 4: want and right, and the other thing is for people
[9:20] Speaker 4: to understand. I mean, and I talk about this, it's
[9:24] Speaker 4: hard to convince people that your street price five hundred
[9:27] Speaker 4: dollars rifle is like target great accurate, it's just crazy
[9:32] Speaker 4: out of the box. How well they shoot?
[9:33] Speaker 7: Oh well, we hammer forge all the barrels in the house.
[9:36] Speaker 6: I mean, you start with a great barrel and you're
[9:38] Speaker 6: you know, you put a chamber in the middle and
[9:41] Speaker 6: you're good to go.
[9:42] Speaker 9: All right.
[9:42] Speaker 4: I want to talk about the thing that I didn't
[9:44] Speaker 4: think was ever going to come back.
[9:46] Speaker 5: You brought back the red label.
[9:47] Speaker 4: We did we did overt under shotgun, which once it
[9:51] Speaker 4: been twenty five years, it's got to be twenty five years.
[9:55] Speaker 7: It's been quite a while.
[9:57] Speaker 9: I don't know that's that long, but it's it's been
[9:59] Speaker 9: a while.
[9:59] Speaker 5: It feels like because it was a great over and
[10:01] Speaker 5: under shotgun.
[10:02] Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like everything else. Like I'm saying about the
[10:06] Speaker 6: product strategy. We built that third generate well second generation
[10:11] Speaker 6: Red label with the concept of hitting a price point
[10:15] Speaker 6: and being slightly under the other major manufacturers, and we
[10:21] Speaker 6: couldn't hit that price point.
[10:22] Speaker 7: Like it just wasn't It wasn't there.
[10:24] Speaker 4: The gunners are more involved, it's not just cranking out
[10:28] Speaker 4: machine right.
[10:30] Speaker 6: So this time around we have worked with Connecticut shotgun
[10:33] Speaker 6: Tony Gallazan.
[10:34] Speaker 5: Over there, and they know how to make shotguns.
[10:36] Speaker 6: They know how to make shotguns, so you know, this
[10:40] Speaker 6: is probably the nice He's amazing.
[10:45] Speaker 7: I love him.
[10:46] Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like that's a crazy genius guy.
[10:49] Speaker 6: Yeah, I enjoy a visit with Tony. I asked him
[10:55] Speaker 6: if I could invite my closest ten friends to come
[10:58] Speaker 6: and have dinner in his showroom up there, and he's like,
[11:02] Speaker 6: anything you want. I'm like, I don't know if I
[11:03] Speaker 6: can find ten friends.
[11:06] Speaker 4: Yeah, but people should go take a look at the
[11:08] Speaker 4: website because they do have a picture of the showroom
[11:11] Speaker 4: and it's like, oh, yeah, we could host like a
[11:13] Speaker 4: fabulous place.
[11:14] Speaker 5: It's unbelievable.
[11:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, but they have been making really nice, very high
[11:18] Speaker 4: grade you know sibbys and over and unders, but they're
[11:22] Speaker 4: making the red label for you.
[11:23] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[11:24] Speaker 6: They've been in business over forty years in Connecticut, so
[11:28] Speaker 6: it's their American made guns. I mean, he's got an
[11:31] Speaker 6: amazing facility. The fit and finish is very very nice,
[11:37] Speaker 6: and it's a very slick little gun.
[11:41] Speaker 4: Well, Gage, I'm not to put words in your mouth,
[11:44] Speaker 4: but I'm just guessing looking at it, because we're looking
[11:46] Speaker 4: at what thirty two hundred ball park. You decided to
[11:50] Speaker 4: make it, make the quality of what you needed, and
[11:52] Speaker 4: then let the price forward had to.
[11:53] Speaker 6: Make one hundred percent. That's that is where we're at.
[11:57] Speaker 6: Like this, this gun will compete with anything in that
[12:00] Speaker 6: price category, and it is an extremely nice gun.
[12:05] Speaker 7: And none of the other ones are made in the
[12:06] Speaker 7: United States.
[12:07] Speaker 5: Ah, that's the other thing.
[12:09] Speaker 4: This is a maide in the US gun that And
[12:11] Speaker 4: I know people say, well, thirty two hundred is a
[12:13] Speaker 4: lot of money. I gotta tell you those of us
[12:16] Speaker 4: who say that we just haven't price guns recently, because
[12:19] Speaker 4: if you go out and shop for any kind of
[12:22] Speaker 4: decent over and under, that's not even middle of the pack.
[12:26] Speaker 4: It's like toward the lower end of the pack these days.
[12:29] Speaker 6: Yeah, if you want something from any of the major manufacturers,
[12:32] Speaker 6: you know there there certainly are people building economical product
[12:36] Speaker 6: and you get what you pay for.
[12:38] Speaker 8: You know.
[12:39] Speaker 5: But an American made over and under that's cool.
[12:41] Speaker 7: Yeah, awesome.
[12:42] Speaker 4: Twenty gage available in twenty eight and thirty inch barrels correct.
[12:45] Speaker 4: And I gotta tell you my personal favorites are thirty.
[12:47] Speaker 4: I just think they balanced better. I bought one, did
[12:50] Speaker 4: you really yep? Yeah, yeah, why would have it?
[12:52] Speaker 7: Yeah?
[12:53] Speaker 4: Yeah, they're they're that good. And I can't remember do
[12:57] Speaker 4: they have three inch chambers?
[12:58] Speaker 7: They do? Yep?
[13:00] Speaker 6: Okay, And I and I believe this is just going
[13:03] Speaker 6: to be the beginning. I mean, I don't know that
[13:05] Speaker 6: we have twelve gauge on our roadmap right at the moment,
[13:08] Speaker 6: but you'll probably see some sub gauges over the next
[13:10] Speaker 6: couple of years, which.
[13:13] Speaker 5: Very nice.
[13:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, very nice. I gotta run to the break here.
[13:17] Speaker 4: I appreciate your time you got. You know, we got
[13:20] Speaker 4: a lot of more things to talk about at some point,
[13:21] Speaker 4: but I know there are a lot of things you're
[13:23] Speaker 4: working on.
[13:23] Speaker 7: We can't talk about it again exactly any time, do you.
[13:27] Speaker 5: Thanks so much. I appreciate your time.
[13:29] Speaker 4: All right, we are at the Ruger Booth at the
[13:31] Speaker 4: Arisaniel Medios in Houston.
[13:33] Speaker 5: I'm Tom Gresha. Be right back with more gun talk.
[13:46] Speaker 10: When it comes to carry guns, size matters, but so
[13:50] Speaker 10: does performance. The Smith and Wesson Bundyguard two point zero
[13:53] Speaker 10: delivers both. It's slim, ergonomic and built to handle recoil
[13:58] Speaker 10: like a champ. The upgraded slim I mean you can
[14:01] Speaker 10: wreck it fast, even under pressure. And that striker fired,
[14:05] Speaker 10: flat faced trigger, clean, crisp and repeatable like your favorite
[14:09] Speaker 10: playlist on Loop. Big confidence in a small package.
[14:16] Speaker 4: Put all your gear on the chiciri and then roll
[14:18] Speaker 4: around on the ground. Now, get up all your gear
[14:20] Speaker 4: that's on the ground. That's what you're not going to
[14:22] Speaker 4: have in a fight.
[14:23] Speaker 9: Gun talks should be in your podcast feed. Check out
[14:26] Speaker 9: gun Talk Nation. What's it like to be blown up?
[14:29] Speaker 8: You know?
[14:29] Speaker 11: If it's like C four, it's almost like a smack hunting.
[14:33] Speaker 8: Yeah, we talk about that too. On your crosshairs, I
[14:37] Speaker 8: like a thin crosshair.
[14:38] Speaker 9: AJ, you're really dating yourself by calling things cross hairs.
[14:41] Speaker 7: You're redical whatever.
[14:43] Speaker 9: Have some fun and stay informed with the gun Talk podcast.

[16:00] Speaker 9: It's chambered in three eighty fit's.
[16:02] Speaker 13: Just about anywhere and still bring serious firepower with a
[16:06] Speaker 13: ten plus one capacity. Add in that crisp trigger and
[16:09] Speaker 13: low recoil and you've got one smooth little carry piece,
[16:13] Speaker 13: the LCPM MAAX carry Light Live Ready.
[16:28] Speaker 4: All right, welcome back. I'm Tom Gresham. We are at
[16:31] Speaker 4: the roogabooth at the na's Annual meetings here in Houston, Texas,
[16:35] Speaker 4: having a good time of course. And it is in
[16:37] Speaker 4: fact to the NRA annual meetings where a lot of
[16:39] Speaker 4: things are going on. We had the actual meetings and
[16:41] Speaker 4: we've got the new boards coming in. They'll get sworn
[16:44] Speaker 4: in or accepted I think on Monday. It is a
[16:48] Speaker 4: pleasure right now. Welcome to John Comberford from uh.
[16:52] Speaker 5: In, Ora Isla.
[16:53] Speaker 8: Yes, sir, are you sir? Great to see it good.
[16:55] Speaker 5: So how's the show going for you?
[16:56] Speaker 8: It's going great, it's going great.
[16:57] Speaker 14: I was actually running Old Lake getting over here because
[17:00] Speaker 14: everybody's last year. This year, I got stopped a few
[17:02] Speaker 14: more times.
[17:03] Speaker 4: Everybody grabs you. I want to talk because everybody says,
[17:06] Speaker 4: let me tell you how to run the NA.
[17:07] Speaker 14: Right, you're not kidding, But that's okay, that's okay because
[17:12] Speaker 14: our members are a part of it.
[17:13] Speaker 5: Well, they're engaged, that's right.
[17:16] Speaker 4: One of the I mean, look all the things that
[17:18] Speaker 4: you hear, same things I hear, which people say, what's
[17:21] Speaker 4: going on?
[17:22] Speaker 5: Is it really back? You know?
[17:24] Speaker 4: The part of it is. I had a guy cornering
[17:26] Speaker 4: me yesterday. He said, well, you know, I'm still not
[17:29] Speaker 4: back yet. I said, okay, why he said, well, board's
[17:32] Speaker 4: too big, and I'm just you know what it is.
[17:36] Speaker 4: There are people that are still mad at what happened,
[17:40] Speaker 4: and my belief is they don't understand how far the
[17:44] Speaker 4: recovery has come.
[17:45] Speaker 5: Does that sound fair?
[17:47] Speaker 14: It's a really good point because there was so much
[17:49] Speaker 14: work to do. It's hard to explain that in single conversations.
[17:52] Speaker 14: But it's been Yeoman's work with our Presidentville Backenberg and
[17:56] Speaker 14: the team of officers, and and of course Doug. I
[17:58] Speaker 14: mean Doug is there. He beats me in and he's
[18:02] Speaker 14: there when I leave, and I can talk about EVP.
[18:05] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he's he's the guy somebody's pointing out
[18:07] Speaker 4: to me said, look, you do understand that, Like, he
[18:10] Speaker 4: has a good life and he would really probably rather
[18:14] Speaker 4: be playing golf. He doesn't need to do this. It's
[18:17] Speaker 4: just that he is so highly qualified and so committed
[18:20] Speaker 4: and he has the passion for it, and that's why
[18:22] Speaker 4: he's here and doing what he's doing.
[18:24] Speaker 14: Yeah, he's the right guy at the right time. I mean,
[18:26] Speaker 14: that's that's simply where it is. And he's he's committed,
[18:28] Speaker 14: and it's it's quite a service for our members. Most
[18:31] Speaker 14: people really never understand what type of level of service
[18:33] Speaker 14: he's committing to the association. But he's led us back
[18:37] Speaker 14: out of this rut. And and we're the only way
[18:39] Speaker 14: forward is forward and there's good governance, and our members
[18:43] Speaker 14: really should have confidence in what's happening in Nay.
[18:47] Speaker 4: And you I'm not going to ask you to say it.
[18:49] Speaker 4: I'll say it and you can correct me if you
[18:51] Speaker 4: think I'm wrong. Basically, we've gotten rid of the rascals,
[18:53] Speaker 4: We've got the right people in his leadership, and now
[18:56] Speaker 4: just within the last two weeks we've elected the right
[18:59] Speaker 4: peace people on the board, and now we have a
[19:02] Speaker 4: good board because people say, basically, why hasn't happened already?
[19:06] Speaker 5: It takes time. Everything takes a while.
[19:08] Speaker 14: Yeah, absolutely, And look, we do have a big board.
[19:11] Speaker 14: It's nearly the size of the US Senate in fact.
[19:13] Speaker 14: But and there's a lot of a lot of opinions,
[19:16] Speaker 14: but good opinions, right, you get elected to the board.
[19:19] Speaker 14: And one benefit of seventy six is there's a lot
[19:21] Speaker 14: of there's seventy six people with unique life experience, whether
[19:23] Speaker 14: that's in firearms or business nonprofit governance, and that's a
[19:27] Speaker 14: huge part of it for us. So everyone might have
[19:31] Speaker 14: a different path to get to the end, but we
[19:33] Speaker 14: all have the same goal, which is run the organization
[19:35] Speaker 14: properly on behalf of our millions of members and keep
[19:38] Speaker 14: us here for another one hundred and fifty five years
[19:40] Speaker 14: and execute on the mission and protecting the Second Amendment.
[19:42] Speaker 4: Okay, well that's the NRA, and then there's n ISLA,
[19:45] Speaker 4: the Institute for Legislative Action, the legal and legislative sided.
[19:51] Speaker 5: What's going on there.
[19:52] Speaker 14: So legal, I'm glad you mentioned legal because the fights
[19:55] Speaker 14: have really moved into the courts, really post Bruin Joe Greenley.
[19:59] Speaker 14: In our litigation team, we've become the leader and Second
[20:02] Speaker 14: Amendment litigation. We're involved in more than sixty cases nationwide.
[20:06] Speaker 14: We filed more Meekus briefs than anyone else combined last year.
[20:11] Speaker 14: And he's off to a heck of a start, but
[20:13] Speaker 14: that team and really where I less focused right now,
[20:15] Speaker 14: the Commonwealth of Virginia. Things have changed dramatically, yes, but
[20:20] Speaker 14: we have our court cases ready to go. We're working
[20:23] Speaker 14: with our friends at SAF and FPC on the federal case,
[20:26] Speaker 14: but we're also running a state case there with our
[20:29] Speaker 14: state association, the Virginia Shooting Sports Association. So we have
[20:33] Speaker 14: a good state Supreme Court in Virginia and there's some
[20:36] Speaker 14: good lower level rulings recently. So we're going to take
[20:38] Speaker 14: that fight to Abigail Smaannberg as soon as those bills
[20:41] Speaker 14: become law.
[20:42] Speaker 4: You said something there I think brought to pick up on.
[20:44] Speaker 4: You're working with SAF, you're working with FPC. There are
[20:47] Speaker 4: people out there who say it's one versus the other.
[20:50] Speaker 4: You guys are fighting, and I keep telling the no.
[20:52] Speaker 4: You'll understand if you go and look at these court cases,
[20:54] Speaker 4: you will see that the NRA and Fire's Policy Coalition
[20:58] Speaker 4: and Secondment Foundation are all working together and share sharing
[21:01] Speaker 4: expenses and getting the work done.
[21:04] Speaker 14: Look a couple of it wasn't in the far past.
[21:06] Speaker 14: A couple of years ago, you would have had three
[21:08] Speaker 14: lawsuits from and one from NRA, one from GUA, one
[21:11] Speaker 14: from FPC win the message, and now we can file
[21:14] Speaker 14: three or four lawsuits and three or four different locations
[21:18] Speaker 14: because it's a it's a collective effort on the dollars.
[21:20] Speaker 14: It's an individual right, but a collective voice is stronger.
[21:23] Speaker 14: So we're running with that and we're ready to meet
[21:27] Speaker 14: these challenges, whether they're in Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, or Virginia.
[21:32] Speaker 5: Right okay, So.
[21:35] Speaker 4: If you would handicap it for me right now, and
[21:36] Speaker 4: I got thirty secs, we're gonna pick us up on
[21:38] Speaker 4: the back side here.
[21:39] Speaker 5: How are we doing?
[21:40] Speaker 14: I think we're okay. I mean, uh, you know, n
[21:42] Speaker 14: Ray in general is okay. Run the way up. We're
[21:45] Speaker 14: taking the fight to places where the fight needs to go.
[21:48] Speaker 14: We're doing really well on the federal level with President
[21:50] Speaker 14: Donald Trump his new attack. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche
[21:54] Speaker 14: was here for two full days on the show floor.
[21:56] Speaker 5: Yeah at n Joey Walking.
[21:57] Speaker 4: I did an interview with I'll talk about that in
[22:00] Speaker 4: a minute. Here's the thing that I learned I was
[22:03] Speaker 4: not aware of. Todd Blanche's family is in the fire's business.
[22:06] Speaker 8: Yes, Checkmate Industries.
[22:08] Speaker 5: Yes, making magazines for forty years.
[22:10] Speaker 14: I always said, if anybody has any doubts. The domestic
[22:13] Speaker 14: pressure to keep your mother in law happy is very powerful.
[22:16] Speaker 14: So I think that's a confidence builder if I've ever
[22:18] Speaker 14: seen one.
[22:18] Speaker 5: I love it. Don't go anywhere where.
[22:20] Speaker 4: We're at the Ruger Booth that the na's Annual meetings
[22:24] Speaker 4: having the ball over here on Tom Gresham.
[22:26] Speaker 5: This is guntalk.
[22:27] Speaker 4: We shall return into the minute back with your Tom
[22:35] Speaker 4: Gresham at the na's Annual Meetings in Houston. Talk with
[22:39] Speaker 4: John Comerford from the na ILA and John we were
[22:43] Speaker 4: just talking. He said, you're getting a big check from
[22:46] Speaker 4: the state of California about a case there, and you're
[22:49] Speaker 4: going to take that and repurpose it if you will,
[22:51] Speaker 4: to go after Virginia. So where's that money coming from?
[22:53] Speaker 4: What case is this?
[22:54] Speaker 8: It was in the youth advertising case.
[22:56] Speaker 14: So everybody listening knows there's annoying aged disclaimers to pop
[23:00] Speaker 14: up on the firearm's website. You know, California really kicked
[23:03] Speaker 14: that off, and we suit them and with our partners
[23:05] Speaker 14: at CRPA and a few others, but we're victorious and
[23:10] Speaker 14: they're paying us back attorney fees so much four hundred
[23:13] Speaker 14: and eighty two thousand dollars.
[23:15] Speaker 5: I love it.
[23:16] Speaker 14: So that's going to go right to those challenges in Virginia.
[23:18] Speaker 14: So we've got to keep funding. You know, litigation is
[23:21] Speaker 14: very expensive. We're talking about a few other cases that
[23:23] Speaker 14: amount to between two of them multiple millions of dollars
[23:26] Speaker 14: because they've been ten years.
[23:27] Speaker 4: On the makers so said they're going for a decade
[23:29] Speaker 4: because they keep we can win it, and then it
[23:31] Speaker 4: gets appealed and goes back and forth, and they're using
[23:35] Speaker 4: tax dollars on that side, using our dollars, and then
[23:38] Speaker 4: we have to use our dollars on our side.
[23:40] Speaker 14: Yeah, they have unlimited dollars because they can go into debt,
[23:43] Speaker 14: they can put bonds out, and all of us have
[23:44] Speaker 14: to manage our own budgets. But the way we win
[23:47] Speaker 14: is by winning in the fall, so we can get
[23:50] Speaker 14: key judicial nominees through the USCENT.
[23:52] Speaker 4: Well yeah, and I tell people say, look, you can
[23:55] Speaker 4: win court cases, but until you consistently win elections, you
[24:00] Speaker 4: are always fighting a defensive battle. Fair enough, absolutely, all right,
[24:03] Speaker 4: So we got the midterm elections coming up.
[24:06] Speaker 5: Talk about what's actually at stake here.
[24:09] Speaker 14: Well, look, Virginia is the best example I have in
[24:11] Speaker 14: current events. We went from a pro gun governor to
[24:14] Speaker 14: an anti freedom governor and Abigail Spamberger and one.
[24:17] Speaker 5: Election gun confiscator yep.
[24:19] Speaker 14: And one election, and gunners across the commonwealthare are going
[24:22] Speaker 14: to are facing her raft, but she's going to face
[24:24] Speaker 14: ours at the courts. But take a look at Texas.
[24:27] Speaker 14: There is no scenario where the Nterra is going to
[24:29] Speaker 14: stand by and let someone like James tallerco win a
[24:31] Speaker 14: Senate race.
[24:32] Speaker 5: He is staying tech twenty six million dollars right now.
[24:35] Speaker 8: One quarter.
[24:36] Speaker 14: He raised twenty four to twenty six million dollars in
[24:39] Speaker 14: a quarter. That should send a shot across everyone's bow.
[24:42] Speaker 14: The gun owners are a key part of winning this fall.
[24:46] Speaker 14: Remember President Trump isn't on the ballot, so what does
[24:48] Speaker 14: that mean we go back to a core turnout election.
[24:51] Speaker 14: Gun owners, hunters, they're a huge part of winning.
[24:54] Speaker 4: What happens if we gun owner Second Amendment Republicans, because
[24:59] Speaker 4: that's really what we're talking about, lose control of the
[25:02] Speaker 4: House and or the Senate.
[25:04] Speaker 14: What happens mired in impeachment, oversight, hearings on every type
[25:09] Speaker 14: of issue, all of these victories that were winning, all
[25:11] Speaker 14: this good pro gun work that we're seeing in the DOJ,
[25:15] Speaker 14: and what I think the listeners should stay tuned for
[25:18] Speaker 14: for some rules coming out of ATF. All that goes
[25:20] Speaker 14: to the wayside because these agencies are going to be
[25:23] Speaker 14: mired in endless house hearings. And look at the third
[25:26] Speaker 14: Circuit in New Jersey. We had a hardware case heard
[25:28] Speaker 14: in the fall with some of our partners and a
[25:32] Speaker 14: second pro gun or a second pro conservative judge was
[25:35] Speaker 14: seated the day before that case. So the circuit that
[25:39] Speaker 14: oversees New Jersey is now a conservative leaning with a majority.
[25:44] Speaker 14: And that's because of President Trump and the US Senate
[25:46] Speaker 14: confirming that judge in time.
[25:47] Speaker 5: That's because of elections, Yes, sir, because of winning elections.
[25:50] Speaker 4: So we have the midterms coming up.
[25:55] Speaker 5: Obviously people need to vote, but there's more than that.
[25:58] Speaker 8: Yeah, you got to get out and vote.
[26:00] Speaker 14: And I know it's a tough topic on the conservative
[26:02] Speaker 14: side sometimes, but early voting is critical. There's a lot
[26:05] Speaker 14: of life that happens between the start of early voting
[26:08] Speaker 14: and election day. You can wake up sick that day,
[26:11] Speaker 14: your dog could be sick, and every vote counts and
[26:14] Speaker 14: you make sure your friends and family are registered to vote,
[26:16] Speaker 14: and if not them into registers.
[26:19] Speaker 4: Ask you have to ask them are you reagised to vote, well,
[26:22] Speaker 4: I think so, well, let's make sure, let's get it done.
[26:26] Speaker 4: And then when election day comes, let's make sure. Let's
[26:29] Speaker 4: get you there, let's get let's get let's all go
[26:32] Speaker 4: to the polls and vote, and then go out and
[26:34] Speaker 4: have breakfast together. Make it a party, make it a gathering.
[26:37] Speaker 4: But there's more than that. The reality, as we talked about,
[26:41] Speaker 4: the money, money is how things work. And I always
[26:46] Speaker 4: tell people, look open up your guns safe and look
[26:48] Speaker 4: at there and tell me what you would pay to
[26:49] Speaker 4: keep them. That's right, I mean, is it worth a
[26:51] Speaker 4: hundred bucks to you?
[26:52] Speaker 8: That's right. It should be worth.
[26:53] Speaker 4: A hundred bucks to you to keep all your guns.
[26:55] Speaker 4: So throw a hundred bucks at your local candidate or
[26:58] Speaker 4: somebody you can support.
[27:00] Speaker 8: You're exactly right.
[27:01] Speaker 14: And you know, I just wanted to touch back on
[27:03] Speaker 14: the early voting one more time because I think some
[27:05] Speaker 14: of the listeners don't realize this. If you're tired of
[27:08] Speaker 14: the political ads coming, the annoying text messages, of the
[27:11] Speaker 14: targeted emails, if you vote early, those will stop because
[27:14] Speaker 14: no one is going to waste money on somebody who's
[27:16] Speaker 14: already voted. That's how they have two dollars for the
[27:18] Speaker 14: next voter. If you don't think your vote counts, try
[27:21] Speaker 14: and voting early this year and if the ads stop,
[27:23] Speaker 14: you know they counted your vote, so you know, give it.
[27:27] Speaker 4: Give it a try. That works for me. I love
[27:29] Speaker 4: it all right. Last thing, where do you want to
[27:31] Speaker 4: tell people? What do they need to know about what's
[27:33] Speaker 4: going on with ISLA?
[27:34] Speaker 14: And make sure you file us on socials, Facebook, x,
[27:37] Speaker 14: Instagram and go to nrail dot org. Make sure you
[27:39] Speaker 14: sign up for our alerts. We'll kick you over at
[27:41] Speaker 14: Grassroots Alert once a week and we don't fundraise from that,
[27:44] Speaker 14: just to get you the information you need.
[27:46] Speaker 5: John Comfort, thank you so much. I appreciate you being here.
[27:48] Speaker 8: Thank you really appreciate it.
[27:49] Speaker 4: That good deal. We're going to do a hot swap
[27:51] Speaker 4: here in the middle of this show. I'm going to
[27:52] Speaker 4: let you hand that headset over here, because that's what
[27:55] Speaker 4: we're going to do. I mean, we're doing just all
[27:57] Speaker 4: sorts of crazy stuff here. We're in the Ruger booth
[27:59] Speaker 4: at the NA Annual meetings and we're bringing in some
[28:01] Speaker 4: of our buddies here. Caleb Giddings joined us right now
[28:04] Speaker 4: from Turus.
[28:05] Speaker 9: How you doing, Buddy, Good Good it's been a fun
[28:07] Speaker 9: show so far.
[28:07] Speaker 5: Yeah, no kidding, Yeah, well, i'd be fine for you.
[28:10] Speaker 5: You've got new cool.
[28:10] Speaker 9: Stuff we do, we do.
[28:12] Speaker 5: Let's start off with this.
[28:15] Speaker 4: I keep telling people, and I know you keep telling them,
[28:18] Speaker 4: today's Taurus is not the Taurus of a decade ago.
[28:22] Speaker 4: It's a completely different company with a completely different ethosian culture.
[28:26] Speaker 15: Absolutely, we have you know, uh, I mean you could
[28:30] Speaker 15: go back to twenty you know, tours in twenty fifteen
[28:32] Speaker 15: and tourists today completely different, right, right. And that's both
[28:36] Speaker 15: here in the States and in Brazil as well. You know,
[28:38] Speaker 15: they changed out a lot of the senior management that
[28:41] Speaker 15: was down there there, brought in new leadership teams, both
[28:43] Speaker 15: in the States, both in Brazil and in Brazil especially.
[28:47] Speaker 15: They've invested a ton of money and time into really
[28:51] Speaker 15: building out this modern machining like Marvel that they've gotten
[28:55] Speaker 15: down there. I've been down to the factory and it
[28:57] Speaker 15: is as modern as any gun company i've been to.
[29:00] Speaker 5: What does the consumer get out of that?
[29:02] Speaker 15: The consumer gets increase quality control And the biggest thing
[29:04] Speaker 15: that they get is they get a increase in quality control,
[29:09] Speaker 15: a reliable product. But we're still keeping it at what
[29:11] Speaker 15: you know what people think of that larger that Taurus price. Right,
[29:15] Speaker 15: we have always been an affordable gun.
[29:17] Speaker 13: You know.
[29:17] Speaker 15: Last year or two years ago, we launched the g
[29:20] Speaker 15: X two, right, and that was a gun that has
[29:22] Speaker 15: an MSRP of three hundred bucks and it works crazy
[29:25] Speaker 15: and it just runs and runs. So this year we
[29:28] Speaker 15: brought that gun and we added adoptics ready capability to
[29:31] Speaker 15: it MSRP on it's two ninety nine. You're gonna be
[29:33] Speaker 15: able to go to baths pro or wherever and get
[29:36] Speaker 15: it for two hundred fifty bus.
[29:37] Speaker 4: Let me see how people they may not know you
[29:39] Speaker 4: come to all this from a background of being a
[29:41] Speaker 4: competitive shooter. You're used to shooting pretty much anything you
[29:45] Speaker 4: wanted to shoot.
[29:46] Speaker 5: Absolutely, so when you and I know you.
[29:50] Speaker 4: If you thought, okay, this is really not as good
[29:52] Speaker 4: as it needs to be, you wouldn't be sitting here telling.
[29:55] Speaker 9: Me yeah, absolutely, I mean you just wouldn't.
[29:57] Speaker 5: I've known you that long.
[29:59] Speaker 15: No, And the the truth of this is, if Torres
[30:02] Speaker 15: in twenty fifteen had come to me and offered me
[30:03] Speaker 15: this job, I would have said no, thanks, you know,
[30:06] Speaker 15: but Taurus in twenty when I started right here, I
[30:08] Speaker 15: mean here four years now, Wow Tours in twenty twenty
[30:11] Speaker 15: two is a different company, and you know that was
[30:13] Speaker 15: an opportunity for me to get in on a brand
[30:16] Speaker 15: that was really doing cool stuff. And you're really starting
[30:19] Speaker 15: to see the tail the tail of that development in
[30:23] Speaker 15: the products that we're bringing out.
[30:24] Speaker 9: Right, Like we brought out a roller delayed PDW. You
[30:27] Speaker 9: know I want to talk about.
[30:29] Speaker 4: Yes because that got my attention big time. Oh yeah,
[30:33] Speaker 4: pd' to.
[30:33] Speaker 5: I have you a personal defensive weapon, Lit'll be sure,
[30:36] Speaker 5: pistol rifle.
[30:37] Speaker 15: We believe the technical term is a large format pistol,
[30:41] Speaker 15: so you know it's a So we're bringing it in
[30:43] Speaker 15: as a pistol. We are actually doing all the assembly
[30:45] Speaker 15: on it in the United States. So Mainbridge, Georgia our
[30:49] Speaker 15: headquarters facility. So we get the parts that are made
[30:52] Speaker 15: in Brazil, they get shipped up to us. We build
[30:54] Speaker 15: them all in America, we test fire them in America.
[30:56] Speaker 15: They were actually I was in the factory two weeks
[30:59] Speaker 15: before this show the building them right then and there.
[31:01] Speaker 15: So the gun that I have that I've been using
[31:02] Speaker 15: for my testing was built by an American.
[31:04] Speaker 4: So all right, people can't see it right now, then
[31:06] Speaker 4: go to the website. But describe what this is.
[31:08] Speaker 15: So, it's a thirty two round PDW short compact format.
[31:14] Speaker 15: It's got a rail on the back that you can
[31:16] Speaker 15: attach a pistol brace too. It's got attachment points for mlock,
[31:20] Speaker 15: attachment points on the front.
[31:22] Speaker 9: It's got D points. Yes, nine milimeter, thirty two rounds
[31:25] Speaker 9: stop thirty.
[31:26] Speaker 4: Rounds okay, nine milimeter a little bit short thing. Great
[31:28] Speaker 4: for home defense. And frankly, I mean, I know people
[31:32] Speaker 4: want to talk about it's like this would be a
[31:34] Speaker 4: great truck gun.
[31:35] Speaker 15: That's I foresee a lot of these bouncing around in
[31:38] Speaker 15: trucks or on ATVs things like that, because of how
[31:41] Speaker 15: compact it is. Because so to give people a sense
[31:45] Speaker 15: of the size and weight of it, mine that I
[31:47] Speaker 15: have back of the house, I have, I've got a
[31:49] Speaker 15: name point optic on it. I've got a surefire weapon light.
[31:52] Speaker 15: I've got backup iron sights and suppressor. And it weighs
[31:57] Speaker 15: fully loaded five and a half pounds even with k
[32:00] Speaker 15: even with the suppress are on it. Yeah, it's not
[32:01] Speaker 15: a very heavy spread. Does the spresser is not doing
[32:03] Speaker 15: a lot of work.
[32:04] Speaker 4: But what's helping? Yeah, absolutely amazing. It's great. And tell me,
[32:10] Speaker 4: what do you get out of it? Mean roller block?
[32:11] Speaker 5: What's that?
[32:12] Speaker 15: So the whole the nice thing about a roller delay
[32:14] Speaker 15: system is you know everybody who shot like an AR nine, right,
[32:17] Speaker 15: like a nine mil ar, they have felt that recoil
[32:20] Speaker 15: because with that straight blowback system, you've got to have
[32:22] Speaker 15: a big, heavy bolt, and that big heavy bolts a
[32:24] Speaker 15: lot of reciprocate.
[32:26] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[32:26] Speaker 15: So I mean that's why when you shoot an AR nine,
[32:29] Speaker 15: you're like, this really doesn't have a lot less recoil
[32:31] Speaker 15: than a five to five six because of that huge bolt.
[32:34] Speaker 9: That's going back and forth.
[32:35] Speaker 15: With the roller delayed system, it's a much smaller bolt.
[32:39] Speaker 15: You know, it's the same, it's a very similar operating
[32:42] Speaker 15: system to an MP five K, Right, So that's the
[32:45] Speaker 15: that's the og roll small roller delayed gun.
[32:49] Speaker 9: And with that at half or a third of the
[32:51] Speaker 9: cause that.
[32:52] Speaker 15: Yeah, these are gonna these are gonna street price are
[32:55] Speaker 15: gonna be probably around eight eight fifty.
[32:57] Speaker 9: That is what they're gonna get is what you're gonna
[32:59] Speaker 9: be able to deal.
[33:00] Speaker 5: You're better be making a lot of.
[33:02] Speaker 9: We look, we're making them as fast as we can.
[33:05] Speaker 5: Because you're going to sell so many.
[33:07] Speaker 9: Yeah, that's what people keep saying. This gun has been.
[33:10] Speaker 15: You know, I've been able to get out of the
[33:11] Speaker 15: booth and walk around some today and I've been hearing
[33:13] Speaker 15: people talking about it in other people's boots.
[33:16] Speaker 5: And oh, yeah, yes's not cool.
[33:18] Speaker 9: I love it.
[33:18] Speaker 8: I love it. I'm like, we're winning. This is so great.
[33:21] Speaker 4: Well it's one of those kind of aspirational absolutely, you go,
[33:26] Speaker 4: that's so cool. You know, I know I can't have
[33:28] Speaker 4: an MP five. I can't have one of those, all right,
[33:31] Speaker 4: you know, even the semi auto version. It's just out
[33:33] Speaker 4: of my brain. You can't afford that.
[33:35] Speaker 5: This is so cool.
[33:36] Speaker 4: And I think the market the time is right. There's
[33:41] Speaker 4: so many people who now understand what a PDW is
[33:44] Speaker 4: all about, and they go, yeah, that'd be a home
[33:46] Speaker 4: defense gun. They'd be a truck gun mostly what it is,
[33:49] Speaker 4: and say, hey, look, fella, that's what I got here.
[33:52] Speaker 4: Let's go to the range and let you shoot it.
[33:54] Speaker 4: All your buddies shoot it. It's like, you better have
[33:57] Speaker 4: your buddies bring AMMO because they'll shoot a ball your
[33:59] Speaker 4: ammo at the.
[33:59] Speaker 9: First Sure, mine keeps sneaking into my range bag.
[34:01] Speaker 15: I was going to like zero revolver for a match,
[34:04] Speaker 15: and I'm like it wasn't not range bag, you know,
[34:06] Speaker 15: don't I go? I got three loaded MAXs forort, go
[34:09] Speaker 15: shoot it a little bit, of course you were.
[34:11] Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, it's a fun guy.
[34:13] Speaker 9: It really is.
[34:14] Speaker 15: And I mean from a practicality like you know, uh
[34:17] Speaker 15: not every gun has to be practical, but most guns
[34:21] Speaker 15: can be right and from a practicality standpoint. One of
[34:23] Speaker 15: the things that it is also is it's a gun
[34:25] Speaker 15: that you can hand to a relatively unskilled, untrained person
[34:28] Speaker 15: and say, here's a safety selector, this is fire, this
[34:32] Speaker 15: is safe. If you need to shoot the bad thing,
[34:34] Speaker 15: you put the red dot where you want the bullet
[34:35] Speaker 15: to go out, and press the trigger. Because they're not
[34:37] Speaker 15: going to be dealing with a lot of recoil. They're
[34:39] Speaker 15: not going to be dealing with a lot of muzzle blast.
[34:41] Speaker 4: If you've got a pistol, a stock or something on it,
[34:44] Speaker 4: you know, a brace.
[34:46] Speaker 5: It's easy to shoot.
[34:47] Speaker 9: It's it is easy.
[34:48] Speaker 5: It's easy to shoot.
[34:48] Speaker 15: It turns a if you've got a shooter who their
[34:52] Speaker 15: most comfortable shooting distance is, you know that seven to
[34:55] Speaker 15: ten yard range that everybody practices at, even if they
[34:58] Speaker 15: say they don't what a what a gun like this
[35:01] Speaker 15: does is it turns them into a twenty five to
[35:03] Speaker 15: fifty yard shooter, like just by giving them the ability
[35:06] Speaker 15: giving them that third point of contact. However, they're utilizing
[35:09] Speaker 15: the brace all of a sudden, a shot that they
[35:11] Speaker 15: could not perform with a handgun, they can with this
[35:14] Speaker 15: gun with ease, with ease, and it's not And the
[35:17] Speaker 15: other advantage too to it being a large format pistol
[35:20] Speaker 15: is you don't have to worry about like some of
[35:22] Speaker 15: the Byzantine regulations around SBRs ah. So you know, like technically,
[35:27] Speaker 15: if I travel to another state with one of my SBRs,
[35:30] Speaker 15: I have to you know, write a mother MAYI letter
[35:32] Speaker 15: to the ATA, right right, they don't have to do
[35:34] Speaker 15: that with this No, that's you can go in a
[35:35] Speaker 15: bag in my car and go wherever I'm going.
[35:38] Speaker 5: Okay.
[35:38] Speaker 4: What would be the other thing you want people to
[35:40] Speaker 4: know about Turus right now, whether it's product or whatever.
[35:43] Speaker 9: I think it's culture.
[35:44] Speaker 15: So I think I think it's culture with Taurus because
[35:47] Speaker 15: while we have done all of these process improvements and
[35:50] Speaker 15: product improvements and all of that, the one thing that
[35:53] Speaker 15: we did that was smart that we've retained was the
[35:56] Speaker 15: culture that Taurus had of not being afraid to try
[35:59] Speaker 15: new stuff. Right, we did the Judge and the Judge
[36:02] Speaker 15: was an enormous hit.
[36:03] Speaker 9: It's really to this day working at.
[36:05] Speaker 15: This job, when people come up to me and they
[36:07] Speaker 15: find out I work for a Taurus, they will be like, oh,
[36:09] Speaker 15: I've got a judge and I love it.
[36:10] Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a category change it with a category itself.
[36:15] Speaker 15: Actually so, and you know, and sometimes we've tried stuff
[36:17] Speaker 15: that didn't work, like with the curve, right, but we've
[36:20] Speaker 15: never been afraid to try stuff and we've held on
[36:22] Speaker 15: to that culture because and you can see it in
[36:24] Speaker 15: the PDW. No one expected Taurus to do a PDW.
[36:28] Speaker 15: No one expected us to do a bolt gun, and
[36:30] Speaker 15: it's a really good bolt gun.
[36:31] Speaker 5: Okay.
[36:32] Speaker 15: So you know, we have that that culture of being
[36:35] Speaker 15: unafraid to try new stuff and to get into new
[36:37] Speaker 15: segments and new categories. But instead of just now throwing
[36:41] Speaker 15: spaghetti at the wall, there is structure and discipline behind it.
[36:46] Speaker 15: So when we try something new, you get something like
[36:49] Speaker 15: the RPC which just runs and runs and runs.
[36:52] Speaker 5: Which all that comes out of having the right leadership.
[36:55] Speaker 15: Absolutely, yeah, no, absolutely, and we have We're very fortunate,
[36:59] Speaker 15: we have great leadership and Brazil and great leadership here
[37:01] Speaker 15: in the States.
[37:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, terrific stuff. Well, I mean, it's exciting what's going
[37:05] Speaker 4: on there. And I just I guess that I would
[37:07] Speaker 4: circle all the way back to where we came in.
[37:08] Speaker 4: Is this is not the tourist that you think you knew.
[37:11] Speaker 4: If you haven't checked out the tourist guns in the
[37:13] Speaker 4: last two to four years, you owe it to yourself
[37:16] Speaker 4: to go take a look. I mean, and I miss
[37:18] Speaker 4: guilt as everybody. I go, really, and then you pick
[37:20] Speaker 4: it up and you go, well, this is not what
[37:21] Speaker 4: I thought it was gonna be. Over and over again.
[37:23] Speaker 4: This is not what I thought it was gonna be, right,
[37:25] Speaker 4: mm hmm. It's like, okay, cool, So one of those
[37:29] Speaker 4: just give it a chance. Yeah, absolutely, go check it out.
[37:33] Speaker 4: Handle one, even just handing one in the store. You're
[37:36] Speaker 4: gonna go, ah, this is really nice. And then they're
[37:40] Speaker 4: gonna say how much is this again?
[37:42] Speaker 9: Mm hmm?
[37:43] Speaker 15: Right, you know, And then that's kind of the thing
[37:45] Speaker 15: like when we did the g X two, which replaced
[37:48] Speaker 15: our long standing you know, G two C sales leader.
[37:52] Speaker 15: The whole point of the g X two was I
[37:55] Speaker 15: firmly believe that your budget should not dictate your ability
[37:59] Speaker 15: to exercise your constitution rights.
[38:00] Speaker 5: Thank you.
[38:01] Speaker 15: Right, And if you only have two hundred and fifty
[38:03] Speaker 15: dollars in your pocket, you also deserve to have a
[38:05] Speaker 15: handgun that works.
[38:06] Speaker 5: Should have a good handgun that can save your life.
[38:08] Speaker 15: Absolutely, So that was who we built the GX two for.
[38:11] Speaker 15: Is Hey, I need a gun to protect myself, protect
[38:14] Speaker 15: my family. I don't have a lot of money. Cool,
[38:16] Speaker 15: I got a gun for you.
[38:17] Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly here it is.
[38:19] Speaker 4: And not only is it just a gun that works,
[38:21] Speaker 4: it's a gun that actually works really well and you
[38:24] Speaker 4: can shoot it well.
[38:24] Speaker 9: You can.
[38:25] Speaker 15: Absolutely We tested the heck out of those guns and
[38:27] Speaker 15: they are really phenomenal shooters. Website tours USA dot com

[38:56] Speaker 5: the end of the show. I hope it worked out
[38:57] Speaker 5: well for you.
[38:57] Speaker 9: Do the perfect timing.
[38:59] Speaker 5: Very good.
[38:59] Speaker 7: All right, thanks so thank you, John.
[39:01] Speaker 5: Take care.
[39:02] Speaker 7: All right.
[39:02] Speaker 4: We're having fun here in the Ruger booth at the
[39:04] Speaker 4: Intera Antual Meetings. I'll be coming back in just a
[39:07] Speaker 4: minute to give you a little bit of the information
[39:08] Speaker 4: about my conversation with har Meat Dylan and Todd Blanche
[39:12] Speaker 4: of the.
[39:13] Speaker 5: Department of Justice.
[39:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, the US Justice Department here at the na show Man.
[39:26] Speaker 4: I was, hey, better than this. I was having any
[39:29] Speaker 4: more fun, I'd be twins. I'm having so much fun
[39:31] Speaker 4: around here. I get to hang out with my friends.
[39:34] Speaker 4: It's kind of like a home week or summer camp
[39:36] Speaker 4: or something. To go to the NRA show and see
[39:38] Speaker 4: people I've known for twenty thirty forty plus years. It's great.
[39:42] Speaker 4: And some of those people got older. I know I didn't,
[39:44] Speaker 4: but I don't know what the he goes with them.
[39:45] Speaker 4: But I got to tell you what happened. Was it yesterday?
[39:50] Speaker 4: No day before yesterday? On Friday, I think it was,
[39:56] Speaker 4: we had har Meat Dylan. I saw in the news
[40:00] Speaker 4: she was going to be at the show.
[40:01] Speaker 5: I said, well, that's cool.
[40:02] Speaker 4: We had interviewed her at chat show, and so I
[40:05] Speaker 4: sent a note to her people and said, hey, itch
[40:07] Speaker 4: chance we could get I mean, come on, she's the
[40:11] Speaker 4: Assistant US Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division.
[40:14] Speaker 5: Any chance we could do an interview with her?
[40:17] Speaker 4: And I think because she had done the interview with
[40:18] Speaker 4: us before and she felt comfortable with it, they said, yeah,
[40:22] Speaker 4: we'll bring her by the booth.
[40:23] Speaker 5: So yeah, we did that.
[40:24] Speaker 4: So Harmy Dillon came by, We interviewed her on video
[40:27] Speaker 4: and we'll have that out in a few days. And
[40:30] Speaker 4: then right after that we were approached by the people
[40:33] Speaker 4: from Todd Blanche's office. He is the acting US attorney
[40:36] Speaker 4: took Pam Bondi's slot. Whether or not he ends up
[40:39] Speaker 4: with it permanently, I don't know. But we did an
[40:42] Speaker 4: interview with him and it was fascinating. Both of them
[40:45] Speaker 4: were great. You're going to love him. One of the
[40:47] Speaker 4: big takeaways I got one is that Harmy Dillon is
[40:51] Speaker 4: an absolute terror. You would not want to cross her.
[40:54] Speaker 4: When she gave me her challenge coin, I've never seen
[40:58] Speaker 4: a challenge coin from some in the US government, and
[41:01] Speaker 4: the middle of it, it says FAFO, Really okay, she
[41:07] Speaker 4: means it man, and she is going to go after
[41:10] Speaker 4: Virginia and Abigail Spamberger as soon as they not only
[41:15] Speaker 4: signed the law, but she says, she explained, Look, it's
[41:17] Speaker 4: got to actually go into effect before we cansue, not
[41:20] Speaker 4: just after it signed. It's got to go because they
[41:22] Speaker 4: may sign and say it goes into effect in twenty
[41:24] Speaker 4: days or one hundred and eighty days or whatever, but
[41:26] Speaker 4: after it goes into the fact they can sue. But
[41:28] Speaker 4: then my conversation with Todd Blanche was fascinating, and he
[41:32] Speaker 4: is the acting US Attorney General. Well, first of all,
[41:36] Speaker 4: turns out his mother in law owns a company that's
[41:39] Speaker 4: exhibiting here, Checkmate Magazines. He's he's in his family's in
[41:43] Speaker 4: the gun business, has been for forty years. So when okay,
[41:46] Speaker 4: this is a good thing. And then he said, look,
[41:49] Speaker 4: he said, I can just tell you that next week
[41:51] Speaker 4: as I'm talking to you right now, the coming week.
[41:54] Speaker 4: Sometime next week, he says, we're going to drop a
[41:56] Speaker 4: whole bunch of new regulations. We're going to drop some announcements,
[42:00] Speaker 4: We're going to change a bunch of regulations. He says,
[42:02] Speaker 4: ATF is no longer going to be going after gun
[42:04] Speaker 4: dealers for misplaced commas or transposed numbers or the zero
[42:10] Speaker 4: tolerance policy. He says, we're going to be going after
[42:12] Speaker 4: criminals like we should be. He said, we're not doing
[42:15] Speaker 4: that stuff anymore. So, Holy cow, I mean, it was
[42:19] Speaker 4: like this. He says, there's a bunch of stuff coming
[42:21] Speaker 4: and he says, of course we're going to get sued
[42:23] Speaker 4: over it. He says, but we're going to win. I mean, look,
[42:26] Speaker 4: he's the head of the Department's Justice. They got lawyers.
[42:28] Speaker 4: He said, yeah, we're going to get sued and it's
[42:30] Speaker 4: going to be a fight. And all this goes back
[42:34] Speaker 4: to and I've said this before, and it irritates some
[42:37] Speaker 4: people for some reason, because some people really like the
[42:39] Speaker 4: bad mouth Trump.
[42:40] Speaker 5: Even on our side.
[42:41] Speaker 4: They said, well, he didn't do this. He didn't do that,
[42:44] Speaker 4: Pan Bomby did BONDI didn't do that. I know, I
[42:47] Speaker 4: get it. It takes a while. That was both of them,
[42:49] Speaker 4: both the harmy Dillon and Todd Blant spoke said, look,
[42:53] Speaker 4: this stuff takes a while. We're moving really fast, but
[42:58] Speaker 4: you know, just do it all overnight. Put all that
[43:02] Speaker 4: to say, I personally think this is the most pro
[43:06] Speaker 4: Second Amendment administration we've ever had, probably in the history
[43:10] Speaker 4: of the country. Honestly, I don't think there's ever been
[43:13] Speaker 4: anything like this. I'm not saying that Donald Trump is
[43:16] Speaker 4: super pro gun. I think he's pretty pro gun, but
[43:19] Speaker 4: he's put in the right people and they are just
[43:23] Speaker 4: charging ahead hard. So anyway, we'll look for this next week,
[43:27] Speaker 4: look for the announcements coming out of the Department of Justice,
[43:29] Speaker 4: see what they're going to do. I don't know what
[43:30] Speaker 4: it is, but it sounds like it's going to be big.
[43:33] Speaker 4: So we'll see what transpires there. But I am encouraged
[43:37] Speaker 4: and I am hopeful, and I think we're in a
[43:40] Speaker 4: really really good place. Of course, if we don't win
[43:43] Speaker 4: the midterm elections, all that could get reversed, or at
[43:46] Speaker 4: least they could throw out the anchor and stop the progress.
[43:48] Speaker 4: So we've got to make the commitment to get out
[43:51] Speaker 4: the vote. There you go, Tom Gresham, here we have
[43:53] Speaker 4: the Rugerbee. We'll be right back
