[0:00] Speaker 1: Two hundred and fifty years of American liberty rugers, two
[0:03] Speaker 1: hundred and fifty of the Anniversary series limited production firearms
[0:07] Speaker 1: marked for a milestone moment in history on a piece
[0:10] Speaker 1: of it.
[0:11] Speaker 2: Well, you still can.
[0:13] Speaker 3: Upgrade your optic with Hollison where innovation meets precision. With
[0:16] Speaker 3: fifty thousand hours of battery life, shake awake technology and
[0:20] Speaker 3: a solar failsafe. Your optic is always ready when you
[0:23] Speaker 3: are Hollison confidence in every shot.
[0:28] Speaker 2: All right back with here with gun talk, I'm Tom Gresham. Yeah,
[0:31] Speaker 2: there's a whole lot going on in this news about
[0:33] Speaker 2: the crazy stuff from Federal higher pressure cartridge, the six
[0:40] Speaker 2: y five creed more leap frogs over the sixty five
[0:43] Speaker 2: PRC and that's just dipping your toe in the water.
[0:47] Speaker 2: Now we're just getting idea of what this thing could be.
[0:50] Speaker 2: We're joining right now by Jason Vanderbrick from the Kinetic Group. Jason,
[0:55] Speaker 2: you're what CEO, President Graham, Poopa and trash taker Outer.
[1:00] Speaker 4: That's about it, Tom, thanks for having us, and it's
[1:03] Speaker 4: certainly a good couple of days. But yes, no, chairman
[1:06] Speaker 4: and CEO of the Kinectic Group.
[1:08] Speaker 2: Okay, so a couple of days ago you introduced peak
[1:12] Speaker 2: alloy plus peak. How do you how do we say this?
[1:16] Speaker 4: Yeah, we're we introduced on Friday six to five creed
[1:20] Speaker 4: More plus peak. So peak alloy is obviously we launched
[1:24] Speaker 4: it last year. It's our alloy case technology that we
[1:28] Speaker 4: launched a seven back country and uh so you mung
[1:31] Speaker 4: us stay on Friday introducing the same technology to six
[1:36] Speaker 4: or five creed More.
[1:36] Speaker 2: Users at its core because a lot of us looked
[1:40] Speaker 2: at the seven back Country last year we went okay, yeah,
[1:42] Speaker 2: you got more pressure and then you got a special
[1:44] Speaker 2: case and here you got to get a new rifle
[1:46] Speaker 2: for it. Fine, but this is a whole different deal.
[1:48] Speaker 2: This is the higher pressure ammo more velocity that you
[1:53] Speaker 2: could either get the more veloscity or get the same
[1:55] Speaker 2: velocity out of a short barrel. But the key here
[1:57] Speaker 2: is you could shoot it in your exist six five
[2:00] Speaker 2: creed More rifle and it's perfectly safe. Yeah, that's that
[2:04] Speaker 2: was the thought on this is.
[2:06] Speaker 4: You know, that country really really changed the game as
[2:10] Speaker 4: far as what case technology can do to a performance,
[2:15] Speaker 4: and it's been beyond our belief on how big that
[2:18] Speaker 4: country was. But now with the amount of creed More
[2:21] Speaker 4: guns already in the field. This is a This is
[2:25] Speaker 4: a game changer like anything that we've ever done. And
[2:28] Speaker 4: we're kind of an innovative company in the AMO segment,
[2:30] Speaker 4: so this is this is a big deal because of
[2:34] Speaker 4: the amount of rifles in the field already.
[2:36] Speaker 2: And yes, it will change things. I mean, if you
[2:39] Speaker 2: have a six y five creed more now you're actually
[2:41] Speaker 2: going faster than a six five p RC. Get a
[2:44] Speaker 2: short action and a lighter rifle, and you can do
[2:46] Speaker 2: it with a shorter barrel if you want. But Jason,
[2:49] Speaker 2: I'm thinking that for me, the thing that's exciting is
[2:52] Speaker 2: that the technology itself when you start applying it across
[2:56] Speaker 2: other cartridges, other technologies within ballistic I don't think it's
[3:01] Speaker 2: overstating it to say this thing may be as important
[3:05] Speaker 2: and revolutionary as smokeless powder was. I agree.
[3:10] Speaker 4: The way we've we've been working on this for I
[3:13] Speaker 4: don't know how many, I mean several several years. This
[3:16] Speaker 4: technology and the way we the way, the analogy we
[3:21] Speaker 4: use to the team in Minnesota is this is as
[3:25] Speaker 4: as it was from a from a turboprop plane to
[3:28] Speaker 4: a jet engine. We really think this technology is that
[3:33] Speaker 4: revolutionary to our industry.
[3:37] Speaker 2: I think so and obviously you're going eighty thousand PSI
[3:41] Speaker 2: in this and we know that some of the experimental
[3:44] Speaker 2: stuff you've been doing with military is bordering on twice
[3:47] Speaker 2: that I don't know we'll ever see that in the
[3:49] Speaker 2: commercial side, but just it indicates what can be done
[3:53] Speaker 2: when you start going experimental and stretching things out.
[3:56] Speaker 4: Absolutely, this is the sky's the limit on this technology.
[3:59] Speaker 4: It's it's uh, you know, it's it's just revolutionizing centerfire
[4:04] Speaker 4: rifle AMMO. You know, if you think about it and
[4:08] Speaker 4: you compare it to the bullet technology that the industry
[4:12] Speaker 4: has seen in the last couple of decades, which bullets,
[4:15] Speaker 4: as you well know, the technology and performance is amazing
[4:19] Speaker 4: from what it was back in the cup and core
[4:21] Speaker 4: core locked power shock base, right. But really, now that
[4:26] Speaker 4: you got the bullets, the bullets that can take the performance,
[4:30] Speaker 4: now you're getting your living a performance out of a
[4:34] Speaker 4: six Creedmore that is, I mean handily out does six
[4:37] Speaker 4: to five perc with one more in the magazine. And no,
[4:42] Speaker 4: you know, sometimes there's been issues on feeding capabilities of
[4:46] Speaker 4: a poc. Creedmore gives you all of the benefits and
[4:51] Speaker 4: absolutely nothing that you lose on this technology.
[4:55] Speaker 2: You know, I keep coming up with these ideas, and
[4:58] Speaker 2: you just came up with one I had not thought of.
[5:00] Speaker 2: Is now you have magnum performance in your rifle with
[5:04] Speaker 2: one more round because you don't have to have this
[5:06] Speaker 2: big fat cartridge in there. So I mean, you're just
[5:10] Speaker 2: winning and winning all across the board. Where where did
[5:13] Speaker 2: this idea and where did this concept for this technology
[5:16] Speaker 2: come from? Originally, we have.
[5:18] Speaker 4: Been working on this a long time and and uh,
[5:22] Speaker 4: we have some of the best engineers in the world
[5:25] Speaker 4: who you know, you know, engineers are tom They can
[5:30] Speaker 4: come up with some crazy stuff and but it never
[5:32] Speaker 4: goes to market or it's a flop. But we had
[5:35] Speaker 4: a we had some engineers come up with this technology
[5:38] Speaker 4: in it and it just took a long time to
[5:41] Speaker 4: figure out how to make it effectively. You know, I
[5:44] Speaker 4: don't want to I don't want to let the cat
[5:46] Speaker 4: out of the bag. It's it's it is that it
[5:49] Speaker 4: is a super complex process. It is not just a steelcase,
[5:54] Speaker 4: you know. It's it's there's lots of aspects that had
[5:58] Speaker 4: to commercialize the commercialization process of bringing this thought to
[6:05] Speaker 4: loaded animal on the shelf. For different aspects that you'll
[6:08] Speaker 4: see coming from it just come from some of the
[6:12] Speaker 4: smartest engineers in the industry.
[6:14] Speaker 2: Well that kind of leads us to okay, so you
[6:17] Speaker 2: know how it is, we've seen this before. You bring
[6:19] Speaker 2: out this product, and like an hour after you bring
[6:22] Speaker 2: it out, people say, Okay, that's really great. So what's next.
[6:25] Speaker 2: What's the next thing you're going to do? Right, stay tuned.
[6:29] Speaker 2: I mean, there's obviously there's no reason in the world
[6:31] Speaker 2: to say you couldn't apply this to other existing cartridges.
[6:36] Speaker 2: You're thirty odd six become or three O eight becomes
[6:38] Speaker 2: a three hundred magnum, You're you're seven O eight becomes
[6:41] Speaker 2: a seven magnum. It's just on and on and on
[6:43] Speaker 2: what you can do with this.
[6:45] Speaker 4: It's a game changing technology for the whole industry and
[6:49] Speaker 4: and being being you know, I think everyone looks to
[6:53] Speaker 4: Federal for innovation. This is like I said, I don't
[6:56] Speaker 4: I don't think the game changer analogy which you see
[6:59] Speaker 4: that what happened on Friday. Everyone is saying this changes
[7:02] Speaker 4: the game.
[7:03] Speaker 2: That is not. That is not exaggerating, No it's not.
[7:07] Speaker 2: And there are other technologies that are going along with this.
[7:10] Speaker 2: Because marching right side by side, you've got some people
[7:14] Speaker 2: doing some really interesting research on gain twist rifling, which
[7:18] Speaker 2: is an old technology and idea, but now they're doing
[7:21] Speaker 2: some new stuff with it to manage and take advantage
[7:25] Speaker 2: of the higher pressures. So you're not getting that real
[7:28] Speaker 2: quick peek at the beginning. So there's some things going
[7:30] Speaker 2: on there, some new materials in barrels. You know, you
[7:34] Speaker 2: can have shorter, lighter rifles in fact with this technology, it's.
[7:39] Speaker 4: Just it's exciting, exciting as you can be. I mean,
[7:42] Speaker 4: the performance you can get on of a fourteen sixteen
[7:45] Speaker 4: inch barrel is it's unbelievable to me.
[7:48] Speaker 2: I mean, you know, if you're going to use.
[7:50] Speaker 4: A standard twenty four inch barrel, which is a standard
[7:53] Speaker 4: link test barrel, but I mean in six in seven backcountry,
[7:57] Speaker 4: I mean, the performance of a sixteen incher is unbelievable
[8:02] Speaker 4: because of what this technology allows you to do. So
[8:05] Speaker 4: we're excited where this is going to go, and certainly
[8:08] Speaker 4: talking about the barrel manufacturing technology. It is just an
[8:12] Speaker 4: exciting time to be in this space and we're happy
[8:16] Speaker 4: to always lead that forefront and innovation.
[8:19] Speaker 2: Well, Federal has been innovative. For those who've been around
[8:22] Speaker 2: a long time, we'll remember that Federal was the one
[8:24] Speaker 2: that a first company, well right after Weatherby, but it's
[8:27] Speaker 2: Federal right in there bringing out the first load of
[8:30] Speaker 2: AMMO with premium bullets that handloaders were using bullets from Sierra,
[8:35] Speaker 2: noaser partitions. Federal was the one that said, hey, we
[8:38] Speaker 2: could use that in factory AMMO.
[8:41] Speaker 4: Yeah, nineteen seventy seven.
[8:42] Speaker 2: Noah. The innovation, it's in our missions.
[8:45] Speaker 4: It's our mission statement at Federal. And you know, the
[8:50] Speaker 4: last couple of years, while certainly hasn't been the greatest
[8:53] Speaker 4: sales and profitability for the industry, we have never cut
[8:57] Speaker 4: an R and D budget and we never will. It's
[9:00] Speaker 4: that's what customers expect from Federal is innovation, and this
[9:04] Speaker 4: is just innovation times ten.
[9:07] Speaker 2: As a guy who sells stuff, you have thought about this.
[9:12] Speaker 2: There's got to be a concern at least a little
[9:14] Speaker 2: bit that people are going to look at the new
[9:17] Speaker 2: technology and say, well, why would I buy the old technology?
[9:20] Speaker 2: Could just cannibalize sales of other AMA. Yeah, No, it's uh.
[9:25] Speaker 2: When when you do this stuff, one plus one needs
[9:27] Speaker 2: equal three.
[9:28] Speaker 4: I mean uh, and and certainly we we we understand
[9:32] Speaker 4: that you run almost now you can never think of
[9:36] Speaker 4: all these different scenarios. But we have thought this through
[9:39] Speaker 4: and UH and we love our position, we love what
[9:42] Speaker 4: it's going to bring to UH, to our company, and
[9:45] Speaker 4: UH we we understand the cannibalization, but on this, on this,
[9:51] Speaker 4: it's the game was way too.
[9:53] Speaker 2: Big not not to go after this.
[9:55] Speaker 4: And and again I think one of the one of
[9:59] Speaker 4: the it's not just a slogan, it's what we live
[10:02] Speaker 4: and breathe every day at the Connetic Group. We got
[10:05] Speaker 4: to bring solutions to end users that aren't just marketing hype. Right,
[10:11] Speaker 4: short barrels and suppressors is where the market's going.
[10:14] Speaker 2: Let's go.
[10:15] Speaker 4: Let's go bring this solution that doesn't sacrifice performance to
[10:21] Speaker 4: the users, and we'll win every time. And this is
[10:24] Speaker 4: this is just following a slogan that we really think of.
[10:27] Speaker 4: You've started the end user and work backwards, bring end
[10:31] Speaker 4: users solutions that that are game changing, and this just
[10:36] Speaker 4: amplifies that.
[10:37] Speaker 2: It does the six to five creed more plus peak
[10:40] Speaker 2: amazing technology. Jason Vanderbrink, President CEO of the Cadetic Group. Congratulations,
[10:45] Speaker 2: this is exciting. I cannot wait to see what you
[10:47] Speaker 2: do next. Awesome.
[10:49] Speaker 4: Thanks Tom, thanks for your time and keep up the
[10:51] Speaker 4: great work that you do for this industry.
[10:53] Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate that. All right, don't go far. We'll
[10:55] Speaker 2: be right back with more gun Talk.

[11:35] Speaker 2: to have in a fight.

[11:40] Speaker 5: What's it like to be blown up?
[11:42] Speaker 6: You know?
[11:42] Speaker 1: If it's like C four, it's almost like a smack hunting. Yeah,
[11:46] Speaker 1: we talk about that too.
[11:48] Speaker 5: On your cross hairs, I like a thin crosshair.
[11:51] Speaker 3: AJ, you're really dating yourself by calling things cross hairs.
[11:54] Speaker 2: You're redical whatever.
[11:56] Speaker 5: Have some fun and stay informed with the gun Talk podcast.
[12:00] Speaker 7: The six arc was developed to provide increased performance in
[12:02] Speaker 7: the four AR fifteen platform. The six Arc pushes a

[12:09] Speaker 7: feet per second with over one four hundred foot pounds
[12:12] Speaker 7: of energy. The monolithic solid copper bullets design allows pedals
[12:16] Speaker 7: to separate after impact, spreading to create woundtracks and significantly
[12:20] Speaker 7: adding to terminal performance. This round is an exceptional option
[12:24] Speaker 7: for your modern sporting rifle Black Hill's ammunition. The power
[12:28] Speaker 7: of performance.

[13:01] Speaker 5: The new smith In Weston model eighteen fifty four is
[13:04] Speaker 5: now chambered in forty five seventy more power, more punch,
[13:09] Speaker 5: more ready than ever for the back country with a
[13:11] Speaker 5: twenty in stainless barrel, large loop lever for gloved hands
[13:15] Speaker 5: and then legendary smith and Wesson smooth action. This lever
[13:18] Speaker 5: gun is built to run hard and hit harder. Adding
[13:21] Speaker 5: a flat faced trigger and classic walnut stock, and you've
[13:24] Speaker 5: got a rifle that honors one hundred and seventy years
[13:27] Speaker 5: of American craftsmanship.
[13:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, this is fun. Virginia gun sales double as
[13:51] Speaker 2: more state prosecutors said they won't enforce an AR fifteen band.
[13:57] Speaker 2: Virginia Legislature PAS and the governor signed a gun ban.
[14:05] Speaker 2: It goes into Sect July one, bands a whole bunch
[14:09] Speaker 2: of guns, including the air fifteens. Also bans standard capacity magazines,
[14:14] Speaker 2: magazines that hold more than fifteen rounds, like oh, your
[14:17] Speaker 2: standard clock a number. It started off with three or four,
[14:24] Speaker 2: and now I think it's a dozen or more. State
[14:26] Speaker 2: prosecutors is said they are not going to enforce this law.
[14:31] Speaker 2: Just not. They say it's unconstitutional. It violates the Virginia Constitution,
[14:37] Speaker 2: forget the US Constitution. But as a result of this
[14:42] Speaker 2: being passed, people in Virginia are rushing to gun stores.
[14:47] Speaker 2: They are buying guns like crazy. They're I mean, I
[14:50] Speaker 2: don't care if it's Palmeta State Army. They're buying through
[14:52] Speaker 2: the mail or going to the local gun stores. They
[14:55] Speaker 2: are buying guns, not just rs, but all sorts of guns,
[14:58] Speaker 2: guns that hold handgun the whole more than fifteen rounds,
[15:01] Speaker 2: magazines like crazy, I mean gazillions of magazines. There will
[15:06] Speaker 2: all be granted guns in the courts. Armie Dillon, the
[15:14] Speaker 2: Assistant US Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division,
[15:19] Speaker 2: has already notified Virginia that the moment the law goes
[15:23] Speaker 2: into effect, that the US Department of Justice is going
[15:26] Speaker 2: to sue Virginia to stop this because it's unconstitutional. So
[15:32] Speaker 2: you got all that going on, and of course the
[15:35] Speaker 2: utttended consequence of them selling more guns they ever thought possible.
[15:41] Speaker 2: All right, here's one that's interesting. Atf proposed rule could
[15:47] Speaker 2: reopen firearm imports from several former Soviet countries. This will
[15:55] Speaker 2: be a real change done by ATF, doesn't have to
[15:58] Speaker 2: go through Congress. Currently, a whole bunch of countries are
[16:02] Speaker 2: blocked from importing guns and ammunition into the US former
[16:05] Speaker 2: Soviet blocked countries. This rule would not affect Russia, so
[16:09] Speaker 2: we'll get your hope suppaging buy cheap Russian ammo, but
[16:13] Speaker 2: it would cover the countries of Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kurjikistan, Moldavia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine,
[16:23] Speaker 2: and Uzbekistan. What would that get you? Maybe Aka's maybe
[16:29] Speaker 2: a lot of ammunition, a lot of opportunities for guns
[16:33] Speaker 2: from company countries that make a lot of guns or
[16:35] Speaker 2: make a lot of ammo. And look, there's more guns
[16:38] Speaker 2: and more ammo on the market. Could help hold down prices.
[16:44] Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens. They're very interesting stuff going
[16:47] Speaker 2: on here. Let's see a good scrap and Mike a
[16:50] Speaker 2: online four out of Winchester, Tennessee. Hey Mike, you're on
[16:53] Speaker 2: gun Talk.
[16:55] Speaker 9: Hey Tom, how are you doing?
[16:56] Speaker 2: I am great? What's on your mind?
[16:59] Speaker 6: Listen to your show today? Hit a nerve because I
[17:01] Speaker 6: was just talking to somebody the other day about, you know,
[17:03] Speaker 6: inherited guns from your parents', grandparents, whatever. And you know,
[17:08] Speaker 6: I just turned seventy three last week, and I'm thinking
[17:10] Speaker 6: what am I gonna keep and what am I gonna give?
[17:12] Speaker 6: And then I went through the guns I got from
[17:14] Speaker 6: my dad. I got a nineteen oh six twenty two
[17:17] Speaker 6: Winchester pump that was my grandfather's. I got an Elsie
[17:21] Speaker 6: Smith side by side that was my grandfather's. And the
[17:24] Speaker 6: funny story is I've got an eight seventy wing Master
[17:28] Speaker 6: from the fifties in sixteen gage, which was the gauge
[17:32] Speaker 6: that my dad my uncle's all hunted with back then.
[17:34] Speaker 2: Right, Oh yeah, oh yeah.
[17:37] Speaker 6: So the funny story is, do you remember S and
[17:39] Speaker 6: H green stamps?
[17:41] Speaker 2: Yes, yes, I used to put those off with my mom.
[17:43] Speaker 2: I got to lick all those stamps and put them
[17:44] Speaker 2: in the books.
[17:46] Speaker 6: So here's the story. My grandparents and my parents owned
[17:49] Speaker 6: a mortuary in Oakland back in the day, right, and
[17:53] Speaker 6: my dad used to get credits for buying and balming
[17:55] Speaker 6: fluid of all things, and he traded those credits into
[17:59] Speaker 6: that wing Chester shotgun.
[18:02] Speaker 2: Green stamps. I got balming stamps, balming stamps, oh my gosh.
[18:10] Speaker 6: Yeah, he got credits for buying embalming fluid at the martuary,
[18:13] Speaker 6: and that's how he ended up with his eight seventy
[18:15] Speaker 6: and I still.
[18:16] Speaker 2: Have it all right, So question asked, what are you
[18:19] Speaker 2: going to do with those? You're starting to think about, Okay,
[18:21] Speaker 2: who gets them and what happens to them? What's your playing?
[18:25] Speaker 6: Well, so I collected, you know, from my law enforcement career.
[18:28] Speaker 6: I'm not getting rid of any of the firearms I
[18:30] Speaker 6: ever kept on duty. Those will go to my daughter
[18:33] Speaker 6: with a letter of this is what I carried. This
[18:35] Speaker 6: is my kimber, this is my Wilson Combat TQB. This
[18:39] Speaker 6: is my shotgun, this is my r Those are going
[18:41] Speaker 6: to her. The other ones I'm going to probably donate.
[18:44] Speaker 6: I sold a whole bunch we moved out of California,
[18:47] Speaker 6: and I sold a couple more to come down here
[18:48] Speaker 6: to Tennessee. But the rest of them, it depends. Might
[18:52] Speaker 6: let my wife sell them. But I have, you know,
[18:54] Speaker 6: certain things that I've earmarked for my nephew in Colorado
[18:58] Speaker 6: and deputies I worked with friends like that. But I've
[19:02] Speaker 6: got it all written out. We just did a living
[19:04] Speaker 6: trust and I've got that out, and I don't want
[19:07] Speaker 6: to sell them because it's even though it's stuff I'm
[19:09] Speaker 6: not really shooting, it's still a connection, you know, to
[19:12] Speaker 6: your history. Right.
[19:13] Speaker 2: This is well, you know what I'm going to say next.
[19:18] Speaker 2: I mean, here's the deal, Mike. If you're going to
[19:21] Speaker 2: give them to some people, why wait till you're dead.
[19:25] Speaker 2: If you're not shooting them much now, if you gave
[19:28] Speaker 2: them to him now, you could share the stories, not
[19:31] Speaker 2: just write them, and talk to him about him and
[19:33] Speaker 2: maybe even take them out and shoot the guns with them.
[19:35] Speaker 2: I think it would mean a lot more to them
[19:37] Speaker 2: to get them from you now than after you're dead.
[19:40] Speaker 6: That's a great point. But you know I'm not I'm
[19:43] Speaker 6: not planning to die anytime soon. Tom.
[19:45] Speaker 10: So, well, you are a few people do I know,
[19:49] Speaker 10: tell me about it.
[19:50] Speaker 2: But you know, you know, we're about the same age.
[19:55] Speaker 2: And every week turns around and go, Wow, somebody else
[19:58] Speaker 2: I know died. You're going you know that's not going
[20:00] Speaker 2: to happen to me. You know what, every one of
[20:02] Speaker 2: them thought the same thing.
[20:04] Speaker 6: Well, you know what, you're a wise man, and I
[20:07] Speaker 6: appreciate that.
[20:08] Speaker 11: So when you're coming back to Idaho, Uh well.
[20:12] Speaker 6: I think maybe next spring we're going to come back
[20:14] Speaker 6: and visit, and I'll, you know, definitely look you up.
[20:17] Speaker 6: And a bunch of other friends we got. We're putting
[20:19] Speaker 6: a swimming pool in right now, so that's going to
[20:21] Speaker 6: take over quite a while.
[20:22] Speaker 2: So there you go. All right, when you come back,
[20:24] Speaker 2: give me a holler, we'll go shoot.
[20:25] Speaker 12: Okay, you bet, I hope.
[20:27] Speaker 6: So take care, Tom, Thank you all right?
[20:30] Speaker 2: Sounds good. Appreciate that. Let's see, Uh do you have
[20:33] Speaker 2: we got time to get Nicole in here? Barely all right, Nicole,
[20:36] Speaker 2: I got about a minute for you here, so let's
[20:38] Speaker 2: do it.
[20:42] Speaker 12: There.
[20:43] Speaker 10: I had a range report for you, Okay, I.
[20:45] Speaker 2: Got about a minute, so we got to squeeze it in.
[20:47] Speaker 2: Go ahead, all right.
[20:49] Speaker 13: I picked up a VP nine CC last week. My
[20:54] Speaker 13: my favorite range gun that I have is my VP nine,
[20:56] Speaker 13: so I figured I would give the CC a try
[20:59] Speaker 13: as an eedy. I love it. The trigger is great.
[21:04] Speaker 13: The only complaint I have about it is that I
[21:06] Speaker 13: got block bite for lack of a better term, because
[21:11] Speaker 13: the I had to change the backstrap on it because
[21:15] Speaker 13: the beavertail didn't quite come up high enough to cover
[21:18] Speaker 13: over my hands.
[21:20] Speaker 4: Right.
[21:20] Speaker 13: Oh, it bit me. But after I changed the backstrap,
[21:23] Speaker 13: it was fine.
[21:25] Speaker 2: You know, as we say, it's a learning experience. Once
[21:27] Speaker 2: it starts taking chunk of meet out of your hand,
[21:29] Speaker 2: you go, I'm not going to do that anymore.
[21:32] Speaker 13: Exactly exactly, But I like it. It's definitely worth it.
[21:36] Speaker 2: I think very good. Well, those are really nice pistols
[21:40] Speaker 2: and they really feel good in the hands. I like
[21:41] Speaker 2: the ergonomics of them. And I apologize for the shortness
[21:44] Speaker 2: of it, but we're just running short on time here, Nicole.
[21:46] Speaker 2: Thank you for the range report very good. Those are
[21:49] Speaker 2: those are nice pistols. And a lot of these guns
[21:55] Speaker 2: now they come out in the standard configuration standard full size,
[21:59] Speaker 2: and then they bring out a compact more of a
[22:02] Speaker 2: conceal carry size, if you will. I know Smith with
[22:06] Speaker 2: the M and PS did the same thing, and I
[22:08] Speaker 2: love what they did there. If you have the full
[22:10] Speaker 2: size of a particular model and you like it, and
[22:14] Speaker 2: you're thinking about a consilo carry gun, why not go
[22:17] Speaker 2: with the smaller version, the compact version of the same
[22:21] Speaker 2: gun that you already know and have and probably have
[22:23] Speaker 2: a whole bunch of magazines for. Well, that's why they
[22:26] Speaker 2: bring them out, and it's also a good reason to
[22:28] Speaker 2: well why not why wouldn't you do that? Well? Have
[22:30] Speaker 2: you ever done that? All right, if you're on hold,
[22:39] Speaker 2: stay there, I'm going to get to you in just
[22:40] Speaker 2: a minute. But if they want to bring us up
[22:41] Speaker 2: to speed on something that's going on here, Wayne LaPier
[22:45] Speaker 2: just will not go away, you know, the former executive
[22:48] Speaker 2: vice president of the NRA. Much disgraced, he went back
[22:53] Speaker 2: to court and then a New York appeals court just
[22:57] Speaker 2: told him, Nope, nope, nope, you can't get away from
[23:00] Speaker 2: this one. You do in fact, oh, the NRA more
[23:03] Speaker 2: than four million dollars that you misappropriated or diverted to
[23:11] Speaker 2: personal use, four million bucks. So he still got to
[23:14] Speaker 2: pay the NRA four point three million dollars in restitution.
[23:18] Speaker 2: Also can't serve in its leadership for the next decade
[23:21] Speaker 2: at the NRA. Now, LaPier and his lawyer vowed to
[23:27] Speaker 2: pursue more appeals. We'll see what happens. But there's something
[23:32] Speaker 2: else going on here. The people who were running the NRA,
[23:38] Speaker 2: Lopier and the people around him, the cabal I call him,
[23:42] Speaker 2: who were how we were positioned at misusing, taking misdirecting
[23:49] Speaker 2: money by the tens of millions. We got rid of
[23:53] Speaker 2: those guys, and the new NRA has good leadership and
[23:56] Speaker 2: they're doing good things and they're coming back. I mean
[23:58] Speaker 2: Lopier almost killed if somebody said, he ran into the
[24:00] Speaker 2: ground and said no almost, but he almost killed it.
[24:02] Speaker 2: But it's coming back and it's nice and strong. However,
[24:07] Speaker 2: there's this other organization called the NRA Foundation, And if
[24:11] Speaker 2: you've ever been to a Friends of the NRA banquet,
[24:14] Speaker 2: that's the NRA Foundation. It's the fundraising side, and they
[24:18] Speaker 2: raised money for the NRA, except that there was a takeover,
[24:24] Speaker 2: and the rascals that were tossed out of the NRA
[24:28] Speaker 2: went to the NRA Foundation, and they're doing the same
[24:33] Speaker 2: things over there, and they're sitting on one hundred and
[24:36] Speaker 2: seventy million dollars net egg over there and now and
[24:42] Speaker 2: then NRA suited him and said, hey, that money's supposed
[24:45] Speaker 2: to be sent to the NRA. The reason that there's
[24:47] Speaker 2: an NRA foundation is so you raise money and he
[24:49] Speaker 2: goes to the NRA. So they said, okay, not a problem,
[24:53] Speaker 2: we'll just change the name. It's no longer the NRA Foundation.
[24:56] Speaker 2: How it's called the seventeen ninety one Foundation. And they're
[25:01] Speaker 2: basically wanting to split off from the NRA. They take
[25:04] Speaker 2: this one hundred and seventy something million dollars, and why
[25:08] Speaker 2: wouldn't they since they're the same group, turn around and say, well,
[25:11] Speaker 2: we're going to put Wayne LaPier in in charge of
[25:13] Speaker 2: this or one of our ancillary groups and start a
[25:20] Speaker 2: competition for the NRA using Wayne LaPier. The guy just
[25:26] Speaker 2: won't give up, he won't walk away. We'll see what happens.
[25:31] Speaker 2: I'll keep you posted on that. Lots going on. Betty
[25:34] Speaker 2: is online one out of Corpus Christie, Texas. Benny, you
[25:37] Speaker 2: bought a gun.
[25:39] Speaker 10: I did a couple of times. How are you.
[25:44] Speaker 2: Okay?
[25:46] Speaker 10: Well, last week I bought myself an R ten platform
[25:50] Speaker 10: rifle and seven six two fifty one and I put
[25:55] Speaker 10: a low variable, low power variable optic on it. I've
[25:58] Speaker 10: never done that before, but I listened to you. I
[26:02] Speaker 10: took your word for it. I went with a one
[26:04] Speaker 10: to six by twenty four.
[26:06] Speaker 2: I said, hour nice.
[26:08] Speaker 10: So yes, sir, I'm plenty tickled with it. But then
[26:14] Speaker 10: earlier today, I'm sitting here in my mind is a whirl,
[26:17] Speaker 10: and I said to my better half, honey, and we
[26:19] Speaker 10: need to get a Ruter ten twenty two takedown model.
[26:22] Speaker 10: And she said, okay, just do it right and spend
[26:26] Speaker 10: the money. Tom says, how long did you go own
[26:31] Speaker 10: that rifle? She wants to make sure that I spent
[26:36] Speaker 10: enough money to do it right.
[26:38] Speaker 2: Well, good on her. You got to keep her, that's right.
[26:45] Speaker 2: I hear her back there too. Congratulations to both.
[26:50] Speaker 10: Well, thank you, sir, Thank you sir. Yeah, I've already
[26:52] Speaker 10: sent a text message to my FFL and told him
[26:56] Speaker 10: that's what we're doing this week, so he'll.
[26:58] Speaker 2: Be You're gonna look Yeah, you're gonna love that. Rigger
[27:02] Speaker 2: ten twenty two is great, and the takedown version is
[27:04] Speaker 2: just so much fun.
[27:06] Speaker 10: Well, you know, I've got twenty two caliber rifles, but
[27:09] Speaker 10: I've never had a ten twenty two, and I thought,
[27:11] Speaker 10: what kind of gun owner am I?
[27:14] Speaker 2: Well, I was just going to say, that's just on America.
[27:16] Speaker 2: You got to have a Rigger ten twenty two.
[27:19] Speaker 10: That's correct, sir, Well, good for you.
[27:21] Speaker 2: You're gonna do. You're gonna enjoy that. Out of that
[27:23] Speaker 2: congratulations and look, I appreciate the calls. Let me grab
[27:26] Speaker 2: James online three out of Eastern Arizona. Hey, James, you're up.
[27:31] Speaker 2: What's up?
[27:32] Speaker 12: Hey?
[27:33] Speaker 9: Tom? Good to talk to you again. I want to
[27:35] Speaker 9: share with you. I was asked recently to head up
[27:38] Speaker 9: a new security team for our little church out here
[27:41] Speaker 9: in the country, Okay. And the first thing I did
[27:43] Speaker 9: is I called and how the buddy mine is a
[27:46] Speaker 9: trainer back in Oklahoma City. He recommended the guy named
[27:49] Speaker 9: Steve Moses Dallas, a training group in Dallas, Texas, and
[27:56] Speaker 9: they have a We went to a two day first
[27:59] Speaker 9: security fundamentals class which did involve some shooting, but it
[28:04] Speaker 9: was more We spend more time on you know, working
[28:09] Speaker 9: through a crowd with with a gun, how to point it,
[28:13] Speaker 9: keep it safe, hands on, bought in suspicious people, so
[28:19] Speaker 9: all the other things that that you don't normally encounter
[28:22] Speaker 9: in a training group. Right, that's just the stooting, it's
[28:26] Speaker 9: some pepper spray practice with some inert training pepper sprays,
[28:33] Speaker 9: it's work with other types of non lethal weapons, and
[28:38] Speaker 9: uh it was. It was an awesome class. It really was.
[28:42] Speaker 9: Was a little well not too pricey, but uh it
[28:45] Speaker 9: was well worth it. My buddy and I that went
[28:48] Speaker 9: came back and we've got a group of about ten
[28:50] Speaker 9: now in our church that we're working through. We got
[28:53] Speaker 9: certified to train the members of our team now and
[28:59] Speaker 9: that if anybody he is listening to having dealing with
[29:02] Speaker 9: the church security team or anything like that. Palisade Training
[29:06] Speaker 9: Group in Dallas, Texas.
[29:09] Speaker 2: Like you got a lot. You sound like you've got
[29:11] Speaker 2: a lot of those in taught moments. I never thought of.
[29:14] Speaker 9: That, Yes, exactly. We We built everything from encountering suspicious
[29:21] Speaker 9: people that walk up and uh, you know, how to
[29:24] Speaker 9: protect yourself from sucker punches to uh, you know, like
[29:28] Speaker 9: I said, working through crowds, you know, having a gun
[29:32] Speaker 9: drawn that working through a crowd safely verbal commands, of course.
[29:38] Speaker 9: And the shooting part was interesting that we had to
[29:41] Speaker 9: qualify by keeping all of our shots in a three
[29:45] Speaker 9: by five index card sized target against the clock were
[29:51] Speaker 9: all all of our all of our shots were timed
[29:54] Speaker 9: at at three seconds per shot from from a low
[29:59] Speaker 9: red or ron piled or I'm ready position. And the
[30:06] Speaker 9: movement well, shooting resolve No h's where it had to
[30:11] Speaker 9: be in a three by five index card.
[30:13] Speaker 2: Man, That sounds like good training. Look, I appreciate it.
[30:16] Speaker 2: I got to keep moving here, that is great. And
[30:19] Speaker 2: the other thing you learn in these classes church security
[30:21] Speaker 2: is you need people outside, you need them in the
[30:23] Speaker 2: parking lot. Yeah. Basically what you'd really like to do
[30:26] Speaker 2: is intercept the problem before it gets into the building.
[30:28] Speaker 2: And so I know that's an important part of it.
[30:31] Speaker 2: And as you say, is not just shooting. There's a
[30:33] Speaker 2: whole lot more to it. So if you're forming a
[30:36] Speaker 2: security team for your church, you really do need to
[30:40] Speaker 2: get some training because there's a lot of things you
[30:42] Speaker 2: possibly probably have not considered having thought about. Let's grab
[30:46] Speaker 2: line four Kens with us out of point boys the Idaho. Hey, Ken,
[30:50] Speaker 2: you're on gun talk. What's up.
[30:52] Speaker 12: Well, you've been talking about Father's Day and guns from
[30:56] Speaker 12: father's grandfathers and grandsons and so on. I've had some
[31:01] Speaker 12: all that. So I've got a safe full of guns
[31:03] Speaker 12: I've inherited from uncles and my father and my grandfather,
[31:07] Speaker 12: and I've got once on. I've given him a list
[31:12] Speaker 12: with the provenance of all the guns I've gotten, and
[31:15] Speaker 12: if I have some desire for her to stay in
[31:18] Speaker 12: the family or whatever, I've let him know that. But
[31:21] Speaker 12: what I wanted to tell you about was my two grandsons.
[31:24] Speaker 12: There are fifteen and thirteen, and I have a old
[31:28] Speaker 12: Remington Model eleven that I inherited from my grandfather and
[31:35] Speaker 12: it has been well used. There wasn't a bit of
[31:37] Speaker 12: blue on it anywhere, and it spent a lot of
[31:40] Speaker 12: time in duct lines, so I had it refurbished. And
[31:44] Speaker 12: I also have an fan A five that was my
[31:50] Speaker 12: father was a sixteen gage that's killed a lot of
[31:52] Speaker 12: pheasants in his lifetime.
[31:56] Speaker 2: Oarvious, Jop Beckers, you know this, but for those who
[31:59] Speaker 2: might not, the room to Amount eleven was the precursor
[32:01] Speaker 2: to the Browning A five.
[32:04] Speaker 12: Absolutely it was before and picked up the license right anyway,
[32:10] Speaker 12: I thought What would be interesting was to have one
[32:14] Speaker 12: of my grandsons get their great grandfather's shotgun and the
[32:18] Speaker 12: other one would get their great great grandfather's shotgun. So
[32:21] Speaker 12: I let the older boy choose first, and so those
[32:26] Speaker 12: those guns will be there for another generation.
[32:30] Speaker 2: That is fabulous. I know you have shared the stories
[32:33] Speaker 2: and you know, anything you've got that you could share
[32:36] Speaker 2: in terms of written form or something so they have
[32:39] Speaker 2: that they can remember it. I would share as many
[32:42] Speaker 2: stories as you can, because that's that is as important
[32:45] Speaker 2: as the guns themselves.
[32:47] Speaker 12: Oh, absolutely.
[32:50] Speaker 2: Well done, ken. I applaud you, sir for thinking ahead
[32:53] Speaker 2: and getting ahead of that thing. Thank you. I appreciate
[32:55] Speaker 2: the call. As we're kind of heading toward Father's Day,
[32:58] Speaker 2: we think about those experiences, the items that we got
[33:02] Speaker 2: passed down to us, and then what are we gonna
[33:04] Speaker 2: do with those? I mean, look, if you're forty five,
[33:06] Speaker 2: don't worry about it. But if you're you know, get
[33:08] Speaker 2: a little older and you're thinking, yeah, I'm gonna put
[33:10] Speaker 2: those in my will, you know, it really would be
[33:14] Speaker 2: cool for everybody involved, for you and the person to
[33:16] Speaker 2: give them the gun, to to do it now and
[33:20] Speaker 2: share the stories, maybe even sit down and record a
[33:23] Speaker 2: video with it where you if you say, I just
[33:25] Speaker 2: I don't know if I can write this, not a problem.
[33:27] Speaker 2: It's easy. Now he set up your phone and you
[33:30] Speaker 2: record a video and you sedill start telling the stories
[33:33] Speaker 2: of you know, granddad had this gun and there was
[33:36] Speaker 2: a time when he had it in the duckbline. It's
[33:38] Speaker 2: like in my case, i'thing. Yeah, my dad had this
[33:41] Speaker 2: le Bocarelli side by side shotgun, sixteen gauge gun and
[33:45] Speaker 2: we were out duck hunting and he fell in the
[33:47] Speaker 2: water and went in over his head. And he's got
[33:50] Speaker 2: this very nice high end shotgun, and now what do
[33:52] Speaker 2: we do? So we had to take it to a
[33:53] Speaker 2: gun swith and he took it all apart, find the
[33:55] Speaker 2: right guy. It's just it's those stories that make the
[33:59] Speaker 2: history come alive and make no mistake. Within each of
[34:04] Speaker 2: these guns that were handing down, you're handing down history,
[34:09] Speaker 2: your family history, the great stories. And so I mean
[34:13] Speaker 2: I have guns. When I pick them up, I just
[34:16] Speaker 2: remember where I was when I used that. I remember
[34:20] Speaker 2: whether I was with my dad or with my son
[34:23] Speaker 2: or in one case where Ryan got his first elk,
[34:29] Speaker 2: he was sitting next to his grandfather to Gritz and
[34:33] Speaker 2: I was behind them taking pictures, So you got three
[34:38] Speaker 2: generations out there. In fourteen year old Ryan shoots his
[34:42] Speaker 2: first elk with his thirty out six left handed Reminton
[34:46] Speaker 2: under correction or left handed Ruger seventy seven, very nice rifle,
[34:53] Speaker 2: which unfortunately lost that in Hurricane Katrina when the house
[34:57] Speaker 2: flooded and visually fell down. That's okay, we replaced them all,
[35:01] Speaker 2: but he lost all his guns and Katrina, so as
[35:04] Speaker 2: did a lot of other people. But great stories and pictures.
[35:08] Speaker 2: Oh you have pictures, include those with the guns, the stories,
[35:13] Speaker 2: the pictures, the whole deal. You're sharing a history as
[35:17] Speaker 2: much as anything else. And also, you know it's if
[35:22] Speaker 2: you document it, it's easier for people to remember. So yeah,
[35:28] Speaker 2: Jim says, yeah. But Ryan did save his drum set.
[35:30] Speaker 2: Actually it was in the back of the truck. He
[35:32] Speaker 2: had played a gig the night before, got up in
[35:35] Speaker 2: the morning, checked the weather, and him being an outdoor
[35:38] Speaker 2: person and understanding whether he looked at it and told
[35:41] Speaker 2: his wife he says, throw everything in your car. We're
[35:44] Speaker 2: leaving in like twenty minutes, said, what do you mean,
[35:47] Speaker 2: Just this storm has changed direction, it's heading this direction,
[35:50] Speaker 2: it's heading our way. So he already had the drums
[35:53] Speaker 2: in the back of his truck and they threw everything in.
[35:56] Speaker 2: Think of it once again, because we do this all
[35:57] Speaker 2: the time in South Louisiana. We're gonna, in fact, you
[36:00] Speaker 2: eight for a couple of days. We'll go up north
[36:02] Speaker 2: to North Louisiana. We'll visit mom and dad, and then
[36:05] Speaker 2: we'll come back. Well, they came up. There was no
[36:08] Speaker 2: going back. They had ten feet water in the house
[36:12] Speaker 2: for two weeks. I was actually not there. I was
[36:17] Speaker 2: on a mountain in Alaska directing a shoot, a video
[36:23] Speaker 2: shoot about a hunt for doll sheep, and we had
[36:28] Speaker 2: no news at all and came out and we're getting
[36:31] Speaker 2: flown out. I'm waiting by this airstrip in Alaska. This
[36:35] Speaker 2: gold miner who lived nearby came out. We're talking and
[36:39] Speaker 2: he said, where are you from. I said, I'm from Louisiana.
[36:41] Speaker 2: He said, oh, they just had a big storm there.
[36:44] Speaker 2: You know, parts of New Orleans flooded. I said, oh, yeah,
[36:47] Speaker 2: you know wherever it rains there, the streets flood there.
[36:49] Speaker 2: He says, no, Now, they had like a real flood.
[36:51] Speaker 2: So Okay, got back into Fairbanks and called home and
[36:55] Speaker 2: I said, yeah, New Orleans is flooded. We've got twelve
[36:58] Speaker 2: people in the house here refuse geez. You know when
[37:02] Speaker 2: you get down there, you know that's what you're going
[37:03] Speaker 2: to find. And so that was the deal. There you go,
[37:07] Speaker 2: some of those stories, you swap them around and you've
[37:11] Speaker 2: got the stories. I've got the stories. To me, that's
[37:18] Speaker 2: what these old guns are about. And they don't have
[37:20] Speaker 2: to be old like antique guns. They just be guns
[37:22] Speaker 2: that have been in the family. I have the first
[37:27] Speaker 2: gun that I owned and still own. He belonged to
[37:30] Speaker 2: my grandfather, Tom Ryan. There you go. I was named
[37:36] Speaker 2: after him. Ryan was named after him, Dr Thomas Ryan,
[37:40] Speaker 2: and it was to know the little Browning twenty two
[37:44] Speaker 2: Semiauto with the bottom e jecks to take down rifle.
[37:49] Speaker 2: I was probably about as tall as that thing was
[37:51] Speaker 2: when I got it, and Dad wouldn't let me shoot
[37:53] Speaker 2: it for many years because I was way too young
[37:56] Speaker 2: for that. But it's very cool that my granddad, who
[37:58] Speaker 2: I was named after, gave it to and we're going
[38:00] Speaker 2: I still have that twenty two. Never was able to
[38:03] Speaker 2: shoot it well, sights are so low on it or
[38:06] Speaker 2: something about the way I fit it. I can never
[38:09] Speaker 2: get really down hard on the sites. But it's a
[38:12] Speaker 2: cool gun. I'll always keep it. And then, actually, as
[38:15] Speaker 2: I'm thinking about right now, it's probably time for me
[38:18] Speaker 2: to think about passing that along too. No point me
[38:22] Speaker 2: holding on to it. I'm not shooting it. So there
[38:24] Speaker 2: you go. That one's going to get passed along as well.
[38:27] Speaker 2: And now that I have grandkids, well the options opened
[38:31] Speaker 2: up quite a bit. What are you going to do here?
[38:35] Speaker 2: And I have two of well, two granddaughters who both
[38:40] Speaker 2: shoot from the left side on long guns because they
[38:44] Speaker 2: are left eye dominant the way I am, the way
[38:48] Speaker 2: Ryan is the way his sister is, right handed and
[38:50] Speaker 2: left eye dominant. There we go. But you know what,
[38:53] Speaker 2: if you identify that early on, you switch them over
[38:55] Speaker 2: to the left shoulder, they can still shoot handguns right handed,
[38:58] Speaker 2: shoot long guns left handed. It all works out just fine.
[39:03] Speaker 2: As we head toward Father's Day, if you got a
[39:05] Speaker 2: story about your dad and guns and shooting, by all means,
[39:09] Speaker 2: give me a shout. Let's share it now. Eight six
[39:11] Speaker 2: six Talk Gun or Tom Talk Gun. I'm Tom Brasham.
[39:15] Speaker 2: Check us out on gun talk dot com. Be right back,
[39:24] Speaker 2: all right, right now will be a good time for
[39:26] Speaker 2: you to call. If you want to be part of
[39:27] Speaker 2: the after show, give me a shout at Tom Talkgun.
[39:31] Speaker 2: We're gonna be talking on the f show a bit
[39:32] Speaker 2: about this shooting last night in Toledo. Twelve people were
[39:36] Speaker 2: shot at a festival where who knows what happened. We'll
[39:40] Speaker 2: get more details on that pretty terrible situation. We really
[39:46] Speaker 2: don't know exactly what happened yet, and the police are
[39:49] Speaker 2: being a little bit close mouthed on it, trying to
[39:51] Speaker 2: sort it out, no doubt, so we'll cover that. It's
[39:55] Speaker 2: just a reminder about being careful about where you go.
[39:57] Speaker 2: But sometimes you're a place where you wouldn't thought there
[40:00] Speaker 2: could be an issue. I go back to the whole Okay,
[40:04] Speaker 2: carrying a gun might have helped. What also might have
[40:07] Speaker 2: helped if you were there would be a stop the
[40:09] Speaker 2: bleep kit, If you had hemostatic gauze with you and
[40:13] Speaker 2: a tournique, you might have been able to help somebody,
[40:16] Speaker 2: somebody who you're with, maybe yourself or maybe even a stranger.
[40:20] Speaker 2: So just just food for thought there. Okay, let's say
[40:23] Speaker 2: let's go grab David in Las Vegas on five. David,
[40:26] Speaker 2: I got about two minutes for you, so let's get
[40:28] Speaker 2: into it please.
[40:30] Speaker 11: Yeah, I'll be real quick. I agree with what you
[40:32] Speaker 11: said that if you want to pass a gun on somebody,
[40:35] Speaker 11: do it because literally or literally, this is fifty years
[40:39] Speaker 11: ago when I was twenty years old. I had an
[40:41] Speaker 11: old man I was a friend with, and in front
[40:43] Speaker 11: of his wife, he said, hey, he said his wife,
[40:45] Speaker 11: is something happened to me? I want David had this gun.
[40:48] Speaker 11: So yeah, A year orfore later, ends up dying, and
[40:50] Speaker 11: then I ended up passing on that story onto his son,
[40:54] Speaker 11: and then his son asks his mom, and his mom goes,
[40:56] Speaker 11: I don't remember that, so it maybe look like like
[40:58] Speaker 11: a jerk, like if I made it up because because
[41:00] Speaker 11: the man died and I wanted the gun. So I'm
[41:02] Speaker 11: sorry to I agree. If you want to give a
[41:04] Speaker 11: gun to somebody, you know why they're alive. Just because
[41:07] Speaker 11: somebody has a will doesn't don't guarantee they're going to
[41:10] Speaker 11: get the gun or they don't have a will, you
[41:12] Speaker 11: know what I'm saying, So give it to the person
[41:15] Speaker 11: while they're alive, you know, give it to the person
[41:18] Speaker 11: where they're alive.
[41:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, good point, Dave. I appreciate that. Yeah. And the
[41:22] Speaker 2: other part of it is if just telling somebody your family, Well,
[41:25] Speaker 2: I want to make sure that you know, David gets
[41:27] Speaker 2: this gun after I die. If it's not in the will,
[41:30] Speaker 2: there's no telling what's going to happen people. I mean,
[41:33] Speaker 2: I have any number of stories people have told me.
[41:37] Speaker 2: After a death in the family, other family members come
[41:41] Speaker 2: in and immediately ransack the gun safe or the gun
[41:46] Speaker 2: shelves or whatever. They just disappear all of a sudden,
[41:50] Speaker 2: you know, the next day or two, the guns are
[41:51] Speaker 2: not there because everybody's there, you know, with the greeting
[41:56] Speaker 2: widow and helping out the family and helping themselves. So
[42:04] Speaker 2: just if you don't want some disaster like that happening,
[42:08] Speaker 2: spell it out, put it in your will. With this
[42:12] Speaker 2: gun goes to so and so or as we say,
[42:16] Speaker 2: even better take care of it. Now, that's the fun
[42:20] Speaker 2: of it. Hey, let's go out to the rain shoot
[42:22] Speaker 2: these guns. And then when you're done, you say, oh,
[42:24] Speaker 2: you like that gun. Huh, I'll tell you what's yours?
[42:26] Speaker 2: What do you mean, No, No, it's yours. I'm giving
[42:28] Speaker 2: it to you right now. Well that would be cool,
[42:31] Speaker 2: wouldn't it. What a great thing to do, have the
[42:34] Speaker 2: experience of shooting together and then giving the gun to somebody.
[42:39] Speaker 2: I mean, look, if you're you know, middle aged, young
[42:43] Speaker 2: middle aged, don't sweat this. But if you're not, and
[42:48] Speaker 2: you got these guns and you're thinking about doing something
[42:50] Speaker 2: with them, well just saying that, that's what I would do.
[42:54] Speaker 2: That's what I have in fact been doing, and we're
[42:57] Speaker 2: making sure that's particularly. Some of the guns that belong
[42:59] Speaker 2: to my dad are already handed down to Ryan and
[43:03] Speaker 2: members of the family, and now we're going to start
[43:05] Speaker 2: working with I've got my mom's gun, her rifle in
[43:09] Speaker 2: two fifty seven Roberts, and we got to get that
[43:14] Speaker 2: to one of the grandkids, just simple as that, just
[43:16] Speaker 2: because it's a cool rifle. We'll make that happen, all right,
[43:19] Speaker 2: So this is what's going on around here. We got
[43:22] Speaker 2: a brand new cartridge and brand new technology, exciting stuff.
[43:26] Speaker 2: Join us for the after show. Give me a call
[43:27] Speaker 2: right now, Eat six to six Talk Gun. We'll get
[43:29] Speaker 2: you in here. Be sure to check out the after show.

[43:34] Speaker 2: can find your podcast, so if you miss the show,

[43:39] Speaker 2: get out to the range, do some shooting, take some
[43:42] Speaker 2: family members, and maybe even surprise them by giving them
[43:45] Speaker 2: that gun that they like so much. They'll appreciate it
[43:48] Speaker 2: and they will always remember you.
