[1:01] Speaker 3: your media, just look for gun talk or gun talk media.
[1:04] Speaker 3: We got a lot of things going on actually got
[1:06] Speaker 3: a brand new article that just came out about Ai
[1:09] Speaker 3: and can Ai change his mind about guns? It is
[1:12] Speaker 3: a fascinating, fascinating article because one of our guys actually
[1:16] Speaker 3: got Ai to go take a look at it and say, hey,
[1:18] Speaker 3: I was wrong about guns. You're right. You got to
[1:20] Speaker 3: go read this thing. It's really interesting. Well, on the
[1:23] Speaker 3: subject of getting things right, we're actually winning a lot
[1:28] Speaker 3: in the court. Now, there's some frustration out there, as
[1:31] Speaker 3: there always is, and joining me to talk about what's
[1:34] Speaker 3: going on and explain. One of the more recent wins
[1:37] Speaker 3: is Coastus Morris from the Second Amendment Foundation coasts I
[1:40] Speaker 3: want to talk about what just happened out of New
[1:42] Speaker 3: York with the Vampire Rule.
[1:44] Speaker 4: Yeah, Tom, always great to be on.
[1:46] Speaker 5: So, yes, yesterday we got a ruling in one of
[1:49] Speaker 5: saff's cases, Christian v.
[1:51] Speaker 4: James, and it was a win and a loss.
[1:53] Speaker 5: On the positive side, we have, as they say, driven
[1:57] Speaker 5: a stake through the heart of the so called Vampire rule.
[2:00] Speaker 5: The Second Circuit, which is not favorable to guns, agreed
[2:04] Speaker 5: with us that the Vampire rule is unconstitutional.
[2:07] Speaker 3: So people know what we're talking about here.
[2:10] Speaker 5: Oh okay, I'm sorry, Yes, I forget that not everyone
[2:13] Speaker 5: is a nerd about this like that.
[2:15] Speaker 4: So the vampire rule.
[2:16] Speaker 5: We call it that because after Bruin happened in states
[2:18] Speaker 5: like New York, California, New Jersey had to issue carry
[2:21] Speaker 5: permits for the first time to everyone, not just to
[2:23] Speaker 5: celebrities and famous people. How they responded to undermine it
[2:26] Speaker 5: was they passed a bunch of location restrictions on where
[2:29] Speaker 5: you could carry. And one of those, the most egregious
[2:32] Speaker 5: restriction that they passed, was a rule that says you
[2:35] Speaker 5: can't go you can't carry on private property held open
[2:39] Speaker 5: to the public.
[2:39] Speaker 4: So that's every private business.
[2:41] Speaker 5: Grocery stores, you know, banks, movie theaters, et cetera. If
[2:45] Speaker 5: they you can't carry there unless they post a sign
[2:48] Speaker 5: or otherwise give you permission saying carry is okay. So
[2:52] Speaker 5: we nicknamed that the vampire rule because if you if
[2:55] Speaker 5: anyone's read Dracula or seen the movie Sinners, in mythology,
[2:59] Speaker 5: vampires can enter someone's home unless they're invited in affirmatively,
[3:04] Speaker 5: you know, So they're treating people who carry like vampires.
[3:07] Speaker 5: So and the Second Circuit agreed with us that that
[3:11] Speaker 5: is unconstitutional. And that's a big deal, of course, because
[3:14] Speaker 5: the Second Circuit is usually not favorable. So now the
[3:17] Speaker 5: only court in the country that has upheld the vampire
[3:20] Speaker 5: rule is the.
[3:21] Speaker 4: Ninth Circuit in Wolford.
[3:22] Speaker 5: And of course the Supreme Court is about to decide
[3:24] Speaker 5: that case and likely is going to reverse the Ninth Circuit.
[3:28] Speaker 3: All right, So, speaking of what's going on with the court,
[3:30] Speaker 3: case is and I would call it the new Department
[3:35] Speaker 3: of Justice because in terms of Second Amendment, it's a
[3:38] Speaker 3: totally new place over there. And they're suing Colorado, and
[3:41] Speaker 3: they're suing DC and basically challenging gun bands.
[3:46] Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean this is their fifth or sixth
[3:49] Speaker 5: loss that I've lost count. You know, they sued LA
[3:52] Speaker 5: over the long wait times, just like we did in
[3:54] Speaker 5: our lawsuit. They sued the Virgin Islands over their crazy rules,
[3:58] Speaker 5: and now of course they've sued and Colorado and Denver
[4:02] Speaker 5: over assault weapons, band magazine bans. And most interestingly, they
[4:05] Speaker 5: just added to their DC suit they amended to sue
[4:08] Speaker 5: them for banning suppressors.
[4:10] Speaker 4: And remember DC, like.
[4:11] Speaker 5: California and a few other states, totally banned suppressors. It
[4:14] Speaker 5: doesn't matter if you're willing to register them under the NFA,
[4:17] Speaker 5: you can't do that. I'm not allowed to have a
[4:19] Speaker 5: suppressor in SBR at all, even with registration, even if
[4:23] Speaker 5: I paid the old tax. So it's great to see
[4:25] Speaker 5: dog at least fight that more egregious violation, even as
[4:29] Speaker 5: we're frustrated with them, of course for defending the NFA.
[4:31] Speaker 3: And you were explaining to me that DOJ they do
[4:34] Speaker 3: have some restrictions. They can't They have to support what
[4:38] Speaker 3: is current law is passed by Congress, so they can't say, well,
[4:42] Speaker 3: we're going to go after the NFA. They're required to
[4:45] Speaker 3: support that. But when a state or city does a
[4:48] Speaker 3: gun ban, they can go after that.
[4:51] Speaker 5: Yes, yes, So the DOJ in rare instances, the DOJ
[4:55] Speaker 5: will refuse to enforce federal law. But that's very rare
[4:58] Speaker 5: because under the Constant, the President has the duty to
[5:02] Speaker 5: see to it that the laws are faithfully executed. So
[5:05] Speaker 5: that generally means for the most part, that DJ, as
[5:07] Speaker 5: long as there's a serious argument they can make to
[5:10] Speaker 5: defend a law, they will generally always defend it, even
[5:13] Speaker 5: if they don't like this. You saw this even under Biden.
[5:15] Speaker 5: Biden hated the PLCAA and yet Merrett Garland defended it
[5:19] Speaker 5: in court. You know that, And that's because that's just
[5:23] Speaker 5: their job. So that's why, you know, you'll see them
[5:26] Speaker 5: defending these federal laws and we get frustrated with them.
[5:29] Speaker 5: But it's pretty normal this DOJ.
[5:31] Speaker 3: Particularly now there's current makeup with Hermie Dellon in charge
[5:35] Speaker 3: of the Civil Rights Division and Todd blanche as the
[5:38] Speaker 3: acting Attorney General of the US. This is a new
[5:41] Speaker 3: group of people and new approach to the Second Amendment,
[5:44] Speaker 3: isn't it.
[5:45] Speaker 4: Yes?
[5:45] Speaker 5: Absolutely, This is the first time we've seen the federal
[5:47] Speaker 5: government take an active role in defending the Second Amendments,
[5:51] Speaker 5: and it's probably reconstruction.
[5:53] Speaker 4: I think that's the last time I could.
[5:55] Speaker 5: Think of you know where you saw you know, you
[5:57] Speaker 5: have the Freedmen's Bureau back then making sure that newly
[6:00] Speaker 5: freed slaves wouldn't be disarmed by the Southern States. So
[6:04] Speaker 5: since then, the federal government has done other civil rights lawsuits,
[6:07] Speaker 5: but this is the first time they're finally treating the
[6:10] Speaker 5: Second Amendment as a civil right as well.
[6:12] Speaker 3: Oh and should we just at least mentioned historically that
[6:15] Speaker 3: was the Democrats who were disarming blacks at the time,
[6:19] Speaker 3: freed blacks.
[6:20] Speaker 4: Yeah, the Jim Crow era Democrats.
[6:23] Speaker 3: Yes, correct, exactly right, all right, so as you look
[6:25] Speaker 3: at the landscape out there, take a look, if you would,
[6:28] Speaker 3: and drill down to what's going on with the Supreme Court.
[6:31] Speaker 3: We had one or two cases heard, but we've got
[6:34] Speaker 3: a whole bunch of them sitting there. They're like the
[6:36] Speaker 3: ships ready to try to get through the Strait of Hormuz.
[6:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty crazy.
[6:41] Speaker 5: It's hard to speculate, and I don't want to get
[6:42] Speaker 5: anyone's hopes up after what happened with snowp last year.
[6:45] Speaker 5: But it is true that they have five cases hardware cases,
[6:48] Speaker 5: including one or two SAFF cases up there, two Saff
[6:51] Speaker 5: cases and Duncan and others, and they're all related to
[6:56] Speaker 5: either magazine bans or assault weapons bans. And it's not
[6:59] Speaker 5: clear whether they're going to do something with them or
[7:02] Speaker 5: whether they're going to deny them. And someone's writing a dissent.
[7:04] Speaker 5: I hope that's not the case. But they've relisted. Duncan
[7:07] Speaker 5: and Vermontes have been realisted I think fifteen or sixteen
[7:10] Speaker 5: times now. So if they get granted, they will break
[7:13] Speaker 5: the record for the most realist before grant, because that
[7:16] Speaker 5: record was fourteen with Masterpiece Cake Shop out of Colorado.
[7:21] Speaker 5: So we'll see what happens. I'm hoping they finally grant won.
[7:24] Speaker 5: Kavanaugh said last year when they denied Snope that they
[7:27] Speaker 5: will do one of these cases in the next year
[7:29] Speaker 5: or two. So, well, one year has passed, so we
[7:32] Speaker 5: kind of need a grant now if he's going to
[7:33] Speaker 5: keep his word. So we'll have to see what happens.
[7:36] Speaker 5: I'm hopeful they finally resolve this issue.
[7:38] Speaker 3: Let's talk for a second about one of the more
[7:40] Speaker 3: head scratching cases, and that is Duncan. And how long
[7:47] Speaker 3: this thing has lived. I mean it practically is old
[7:50] Speaker 3: enough to have a driver's license now.
[7:52] Speaker 5: Yeah, So Duncan is actually the Freedom Week ruling. Duncan
[7:57] Speaker 5: started in twenty seventeen and in twenty nineteen we got
[7:59] Speaker 5: the Freedom Week ruling. And that is actually what inspired
[8:02] Speaker 5: me to get into the field. I learned about Michelle
[8:04] Speaker 5: and Associates my old employer till last year, and I
[8:06] Speaker 5: joined them after Duncan, and then I was very excited
[8:10] Speaker 5: to get to work on Duncan. And then six years later,
[8:12] Speaker 5: I'm like, oh my god, how am I still working?
[8:15] Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean it's been to the Ninth Circuit, to
[8:17] Speaker 3: the Ninth Circuit and back and forth, and this is
[8:20] Speaker 3: the Dunky case. It's magazine ban right.
[8:22] Speaker 5: Yes, correct, it's California's banned on magazines over ten rounds and.
[8:26] Speaker 3: It still has not been before the Supreme Court. It
[8:30] Speaker 3: has been requested, a cert has been requested, but the
[8:34] Speaker 3: Supreme Court keeps bouncing getting saying, well, maybe next time
[8:37] Speaker 3: we'll take a look at it. Maybe next time we'll
[8:39] Speaker 3: look at it.
[8:39] Speaker 5: Yeah, it got a GVR last time after during Bruin,
[8:43] Speaker 5: So it was pending while Bruin was decided. Then it
[8:46] Speaker 5: got granted, vacated, and remanded. They basically told the Ninth
[8:49] Speaker 5: Circuit to do it again. The Ninth Circuit responded by
[8:52] Speaker 5: sending it all the way back down to Judge Benitez,
[8:54] Speaker 5: who ruled on it again, of course, in our favor
[8:56] Speaker 5: under Bruin, and then the Ninth Circuit unsurprisingly revert him
[9:00] Speaker 5: in a seven to four on Bonk ruling.
[9:02] Speaker 4: So now it's it's it's it's do or die time.
[9:05] Speaker 4: If Duncan's denied, it's over. Like we have to give
[9:08] Speaker 4: up magazines.
[9:09] Speaker 5: You know, the Californio will start collecting or telling us
[9:13] Speaker 5: to ship them out of state.
[9:14] Speaker 4: There's no appeal after this. The case is over if
[9:17] Speaker 4: if they don't grant it.
[9:18] Speaker 5: So it's very important that the Supreme Court either grant
[9:21] Speaker 5: Duncan or, as I said in a meek Is brief
[9:23] Speaker 5: for SAFF, if they're not going to grant it, just
[9:25] Speaker 5: hold it forever until they decide the same issue in
[9:28] Speaker 5: another case and then remand Duncan after that.
[9:31] Speaker 3: Because there are other magazine cases coming from other states.
[9:35] Speaker 5: Oh yeah, so there's a lot of there's there's assault
[9:38] Speaker 5: weapons cases, magazine cases, and then combined cases and the
[9:41] Speaker 5: Illinois New Jersey cases the Seventh and Third Circuit that
[9:44] Speaker 5: are going they're going to rule on are combined. You know,
[9:46] Speaker 5: they deal with both issues at once. So we really
[9:49] Speaker 5: hope that Supreme Court either grants Duncan, Vermontes or just
[9:53] Speaker 5: any of these. Just grant one and decide this issue. Right,
[9:57] Speaker 5: I hope it's a SAFF case. I love, I love
[9:59] Speaker 5: my I love my new employer, but it doesn't matter.
[10:02] Speaker 5: Just grant one and let's finally resolve this issue.
[10:06] Speaker 3: If the Supreme Court, for instance, then saying Duncan are
[10:09] Speaker 3: one of these, it says, okay, you cannot ban magazines
[10:13] Speaker 3: that hold more than ten rounds or fifteen rounds or whatever.
[10:15] Speaker 3: You can't ban magazines because they are arms and common use.
[10:19] Speaker 3: Would that apply to all the states and and all
[10:22] Speaker 3: of those bands.
[10:24] Speaker 5: Yes, yes, So the Supreme Court, of course, is a
[10:27] Speaker 5: national court. So they struck down a magazine ban, then
[10:31] Speaker 5: that would apply to everyone. Now we have to the
[10:33] Speaker 5: exact wording is going to matter. If Supreme Court just
[10:36] Speaker 5: says okay, ten or fifteen is too low, then I'm
[10:40] Speaker 5: sure California will pass a twenty round limit or an
[10:42] Speaker 5: eighteen round, So they have to be careful to not
[10:45] Speaker 5: invite new restrictions when they do this, But I'm sure
[10:50] Speaker 5: the more likely scenario. After let's hope we win and
[10:54] Speaker 5: this issue gets resolved, I'm sure the next step will
[10:57] Speaker 5: be the all past Colorado style licensing law.
[11:00] Speaker 4: Like, Okay, we can't ban these, but we can make
[11:02] Speaker 4: you get.
[11:02] Speaker 5: A license and take a training course and pay us
[11:04] Speaker 5: a bunch of fees, and that'll be the next line
[11:06] Speaker 5: of the fight, I'm sure.
[11:08] Speaker 3: And then we get another five or ten years of
[11:10] Speaker 3: litigation on that. Yeah.
[11:12] Speaker 4: I mean, look, this is what I tell people.
[11:13] Speaker 5: I'm staff and others are happy to litigate for you
[11:17] Speaker 5: in defense of your rights, but really, litigation is the
[11:20] Speaker 5: slowest last resort option, and it's the one that you
[11:23] Speaker 5: are least in control of because you're at the mercy
[11:25] Speaker 5: of judges. If you want to be in control of
[11:27] Speaker 5: your own fate, you have to win elections. That's period,
[11:30] Speaker 5: full stop. Like that's the easiest way to stop these
[11:32] Speaker 5: laws is stop them from passing in the first place.
[11:35] Speaker 5: But you know, in places like California, that's a tall order.
[11:38] Speaker 3: You know, I live here.
[11:39] Speaker 4: It's pretty hopeless, but it is.
[11:41] Speaker 3: You know. But it also kind of brings us to
[11:43] Speaker 3: the midterms, which is essential because not only is it
[11:47] Speaker 3: about getting legislation passed, but also it's about getting the
[11:50] Speaker 3: right judges put on the bitches.
[11:52] Speaker 5: Absolutely absolutely, if if we lose the Senate, if the
[11:56] Speaker 5: Democrats take the Senate, Look, I respect I know a
[11:59] Speaker 5: lot of gun owners vote for Democrats due to other issues.
[12:01] Speaker 5: I respect that, But I'm just speaking from a Second
[12:03] Speaker 5: Amendment perspective here. And if the Democrats take the Senate,
[12:06] Speaker 5: they're going to block any good judges. God forbid, there's
[12:09] Speaker 5: a Supreme Court vacancy in that timeframe, they won't see anyone.
[12:13] Speaker 4: So it's very important that people don't let that happen.
[12:15] Speaker 4: In my opinion and keep the majority.
[12:18] Speaker 5: As much as the Republicans can frustrate us too, so
[12:21] Speaker 5: at least not as hostile, you know, as totally hostile
[12:25] Speaker 5: as the Democrats are.
[12:25] Speaker 4: And I hope, by the way, I hope.
[12:27] Speaker 5: The Democrats change and come to embrace the Second Amendment,
[12:30] Speaker 5: because that would be healthy long term if both parties
[12:33] Speaker 5: truly supported this constitutional right. But until that happens, unfortunately,
[12:37] Speaker 5: there's only one party that, even you know, tries to
[12:40] Speaker 5: defend this right.
[12:41] Speaker 3: I'm with you. I'd love to say, Look, I don't
[12:44] Speaker 3: necessarily need you to support a party because it's a party,
[12:48] Speaker 3: but the way it has come down is that, look,
[12:50] Speaker 3: if you care about the Second Amendment, if you care
[12:52] Speaker 3: about gun rights at all, there really is only one party.
[12:55] Speaker 3: As you say, as frustrating as it can be, sometimes
[12:57] Speaker 3: the Democrats. Not all Democrats opposed the Second Amendment, but
[13:01] Speaker 3: all Democrat party leaders do, and they drive that bus.
[13:07] Speaker 3: And so the Democrats will always, at least under the
[13:10] Speaker 3: current makeup, will always fight to restrict and take away
[13:15] Speaker 3: your Second Amendment rights.
[13:16] Speaker 5: That's exactly right. I mean, you have this guy. Let
[13:18] Speaker 5: me give an example real quick. This Senate candidate in
[13:21] Speaker 5: Maine Graham Plattner. He has a whole bunch of other
[13:23] Speaker 5: controversies I'm not going to get into. But he has said,
[13:26] Speaker 5: and I'll say, maybe believably, that he doesn't support an
[13:30] Speaker 5: assault weapons ban, and he has some history as a
[13:32] Speaker 5: gun owner to back that up. So maybe he's not lying.
[13:35] Speaker 5: Maybe he really is against an assault weapons ban. The
[13:37] Speaker 5: problem is, if he gets elected, he's going to vote
[13:40] Speaker 5: to put Chuck Schumer as majority leader or whoever else,
[13:43] Speaker 5: and he's going to vote to confirm if you know,
[13:44] Speaker 5: we have a president k Newsom in twenty twenty nine,
[13:47] Speaker 5: he will vote to confirm whatever judge knew some wants.
[13:50] Speaker 5: So at the end of the day, what difference does
[13:51] Speaker 5: it make, even if he personally is against it, If
[13:53] Speaker 5: he's going to vote to empower people who are going
[13:55] Speaker 5: to strip us of our rights.
[13:57] Speaker 4: You know already that's a problem that does.
[14:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, and for more you can go to saf dot
[14:02] Speaker 3: org for the Second Amendment Foundation Coastis. Thank you so much.

[16:02] Speaker 8: eight hundred and fifty feet per second with three eight

[16:08] Speaker 8: is an optimum combination of accuracy and game stopping performance.
[16:12] Speaker 8: Black Heel's ammunition the power of performance.
[16:16] Speaker 1: Ruger OURXAM self defense focused. When things go sideways, your
[16:21] Speaker 1: gear better go forward. The Ruger RXAM is built for
[16:24] Speaker 1: real world defense. Simple, intuitive, and ready when you are
[16:28] Speaker 1: with a flat phase trigger for consistent control, excellent ergonomics
[16:32] Speaker 1: and reliability. You can bet your life on. The RXAM
[16:36] Speaker 1: makes no excuses. One of Ruger's most versatile and modular designs,
[16:40] Speaker 1: the RXAM is ready, because when it's go time, you
[16:44] Speaker 1: won't have time.
[16:58] Speaker 3: Yeah, we oft forget the question here of how long
[17:01] Speaker 3: does ammo last? How long is the ammo good for?
[17:03] Speaker 3: I mean, we tackle that one. But during the break
[17:06] Speaker 3: here I was just explained to gem. I said, you know,
[17:07] Speaker 3: I'm not much of a drinker, but I had a
[17:10] Speaker 3: beer this week and I realized that I think this
[17:13] Speaker 3: is beer left over from the Fourth of July from
[17:16] Speaker 3: last year. So help me out here. How long is
[17:20] Speaker 3: beer good for? Now? It's in the refrigerator. But I
[17:25] Speaker 3: kind of got a sneak and suspicion that there's a
[17:28] Speaker 3: life limit on beer even it's in the refrigerator. I
[17:31] Speaker 3: don't know. I mean, like I said, I don't drink
[17:33] Speaker 3: a lot of beer, clearly, but yeah, I was like, okay,
[17:36] Speaker 3: it was a spring day, it was pretty we were
[17:38] Speaker 3: cooking ribs, and I'll have a beer that tastes good.
[17:41] Speaker 3: It's nice. I almost finished one, too. Well, there it goes.
[17:46] Speaker 3: Sometimes you can't do that. Thinking about some of the
[17:52] Speaker 3: guns we have as reading some thoughts from people about
[17:59] Speaker 3: it's kind different. Somebody said, I like the way you
[18:01] Speaker 3: put he said, it's like going land. We are just
[18:07] Speaker 3: the caretaker. We're gonna pass it along to somebody. And
[18:13] Speaker 3: I think that's an interesting way to think about it,
[18:15] Speaker 3: because I mean, do you ever use up a gun?
[18:20] Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, it's possible you could wear one out.
[18:23] Speaker 3: I mean would you what would you do? Would you
[18:25] Speaker 3: throw it away? No, get repaired or something or traded
[18:28] Speaker 3: or whatever. But when you buy a gun, you kind
[18:32] Speaker 3: of expect it to outlast you. So now look, I'm
[18:37] Speaker 3: not saying you're investing, because that's a whole different thing.
[18:40] Speaker 3: You invest to expect things to increase in value. Some
[18:45] Speaker 3: guns will, but few, Honestly not a lot of guns
[18:50] Speaker 3: will increase in value. If you buy high end guns,
[18:54] Speaker 3: they may the top two, three, maybe five percent the
[19:00] Speaker 3: guns could increase in value, especially if you're buying collectible stuff.
[19:06] Speaker 3: That's not my bag. I'm not into that. I do
[19:10] Speaker 3: like pretty guns. I like guns that look good, but
[19:11] Speaker 3: I shoot the heck out of them, you know, Oh yeah,
[19:15] Speaker 3: I made a gun less pretty last week. Generally, I
[19:20] Speaker 3: like pretty guns, I like shooting them. And you know,
[19:22] Speaker 3: I have this forty five nineteen eleven that Bill Lowbridge
[19:26] Speaker 3: at Celder and Slide built. It took him a number
[19:29] Speaker 3: of months and not surprising me. It came in more
[19:34] Speaker 3: expensive because I kept saying yes, yeah, sure, he said,
[19:36] Speaker 3: well what about this, Yes, yes, sure it might as well, right,
[19:39] Speaker 3: might as well. The three most expensive words we say,
[19:42] Speaker 3: that's okay, it's gorgeous. It came in pretty, and then
[19:45] Speaker 3: I put a set of gorgeous cocobola grips on Burrowwood
[19:49] Speaker 3: grips on it from Bobby Tyler and Hotter gun Works. Well,
[19:53] Speaker 3: when I got to gun site, I was shooting in
[19:55] Speaker 3: the Class forty five. It's hot, hands are sweaty, slick grip. Now,
[20:00] Speaker 3: this isn't gonna work. So I thought, you know, I
[20:04] Speaker 3: went to the pro shop. They had everything there. So
[20:06] Speaker 3: I went ahead and got slim grips, aluminum grips that
[20:09] Speaker 3: are really slim grip panels, and I said, you know,
[20:12] Speaker 3: if you're gonna do it, go all the way. And
[20:15] Speaker 3: I picked up a drop safety. Actually it's a little
[20:18] Speaker 3: bit lower safety extended safety, and it had the gun
[20:21] Speaker 3: smith install those. And while you wouldn't think it would
[20:25] Speaker 3: make much difference, it was a huge improvement for me.
[20:29] Speaker 3: I have fairly short fingers and it just made it
[20:34] Speaker 3: possible for me to get a good purchase on the
[20:36] Speaker 3: grip and to get my trigger finger in at a
[20:38] Speaker 3: good ninety degree angle so I could press it straight
[20:40] Speaker 3: back without pushing it to the left, shooting right handed,
[20:44] Speaker 3: and just really like the way it feels now. It
[20:47] Speaker 3: isn't as pretty. I went with pretty much mostly black
[20:51] Speaker 3: aluminum grips, but man, when I picked that gun up,
[20:55] Speaker 3: it feels great now. And the funny part is I
[20:59] Speaker 3: was talking last week last yeah, last week with Phils
[21:02] Speaker 3: Trader at SIG. I mentioned that to him. He says, oh, yeah,
[21:05] Speaker 3: he says, I put slim grips on all my nineteen elevens.
[21:09] Speaker 3: He says, I have huge hands, he says, but I
[21:11] Speaker 3: just like the way that the slim grips feel.
[21:14] Speaker 4: Huh.
[21:15] Speaker 3: That's interesting even when a guy with big hands likes
[21:18] Speaker 3: the slim grips. I just kind of throw that out
[21:21] Speaker 3: to say, if you've never tried, if you have nineteen elevens,
[21:26] Speaker 3: and if you are of a mind too, it's something
[21:28] Speaker 3: you could just swap out yourself. You do have to
[21:30] Speaker 3: replace the grip bushings in the frame when you go
[21:34] Speaker 3: to the slim grips, but often you can buy those
[21:36] Speaker 3: as a set. The screws and the grip of the bushings,
[21:40] Speaker 3: you might want to try it, And if you have
[21:42] Speaker 3: anything close to small hands, you might want to try
[21:45] Speaker 3: the drop safety and see what you think about that. Clearly,
[21:50] Speaker 3: you can put them on and try them for a
[21:52] Speaker 3: while and swap them back out if you don't like them.
[21:53] Speaker 3: That's the beauty of the whole thing. And it's like
[21:56] Speaker 3: undoing screws and putting them back in. Even Tom can
[21:59] Speaker 3: do that most of the time. Me because I'm not mechanical,
[22:02] Speaker 3: but I even I could do that most of the time.
[22:05] Speaker 3: So you could try it and see if you like it,
[22:07] Speaker 3: and if you don't, you can squap back. You could
[22:09] Speaker 3: do one or the other or both whatever. But I'm
[22:11] Speaker 3: just saying when I did that, that gun just became
[22:15] Speaker 3: a lot more comfortable to shoot and really enjoyed it.
[22:19] Speaker 3: And yeah, shooting the forty five, I was taking on
[22:23] Speaker 3: more recoil than some of the people in the class
[22:24] Speaker 3: who are shooting nines and it was noticeable, you could
[22:28] Speaker 3: tell the difference. But still had a good time. And
[22:31] Speaker 3: oh yeah, by the way, I still love that gold
[22:35] Speaker 3: bead front site. That was amazing and all types of
[22:39] Speaker 3: light conditions. It may be old school, but the reason
[22:42] Speaker 3: it's still around is because it works. Uh yeah, we're
[22:53] Speaker 3: still talking about guns. We're having fun. I just did
[22:55] Speaker 3: my five days at gun site, three days of backcountry
[22:58] Speaker 3: flying training, learn stuff. I just really enjoy learning. Well
[23:04] Speaker 3: what I think of practical things or fun things. Or
[23:07] Speaker 3: I wasn't a great student in school. It's weird. I mean,
[23:10] Speaker 3: I love studying things now, and I think it was
[23:14] Speaker 3: the case of I just didn't see the value in
[23:17] Speaker 3: it or how it was going to apply, and enough
[23:21] Speaker 3: of a rebel to where I just said, you know,
[23:22] Speaker 3: if I had to understand what it's about, I'm probably
[23:24] Speaker 3: not going to do it. And so yeah, no, it's
[23:28] Speaker 3: it's not true that I wasn't a good student. What's
[23:31] Speaker 3: true is that I was a terrible student. I really was. Okay,
[23:35] Speaker 3: let's go to the phones line for Jerry's with us
[23:38] Speaker 3: out of Greeley, Colorado. Jerry, thank you so much for
[23:40] Speaker 3: your patients and going through that long break.
[23:42] Speaker 9: Well, thanks for taking my call. Tom. You really kill
[23:46] Speaker 9: took Piece fifteen that it misbehaves when I used the
[23:51] Speaker 9: twelve round magazines as opposed to the I'm sorry, the
[23:57] Speaker 9: fifteen round magazines as opposed to the twelve round magazines.
[24:01] Speaker 9: So the twelve round magazines have a flat metal base plate.
[24:05] Speaker 9: They work flawlessly. The fifteen rounders have sort of like
[24:09] Speaker 9: a plastic plus three extender, I guess, and they're the
[24:16] Speaker 9: best I can see. The magazine base plate acts as
[24:19] Speaker 9: the overtravel stop to prevent the magazine from going too
[24:24] Speaker 9: far in on a reload. So with a full stack
[24:29] Speaker 9: of cartridges, it bumps the slide up off the slide stop,
[24:32] Speaker 9: and the slide springs forward when the magazine goes home.
[24:37] Speaker 9: I called Celtech. They told me they'd be happy to
[24:40] Speaker 9: send new magazines, but it wouldn't help because they're all
[24:43] Speaker 9: the same. So the only thing I can think of
[24:47] Speaker 9: is maybe putting a little dabblebee POxy on top of
[24:50] Speaker 9: the base plate rim so that it stops that overtravel.
[24:55] Speaker 9: But I just thought i'd see if you could could
[24:57] Speaker 9: think of any other factors that maybe I'm failing to consider.
[25:01] Speaker 3: So the twelve rounders work, and the fifteen rounders, the
[25:05] Speaker 3: problem is when you put them in. If you smack
[25:07] Speaker 3: them in, it closed. The slide closes with that, Am
[25:11] Speaker 3: I getting that right?
[25:12] Speaker 9: Exactly? That's right?
[25:16] Speaker 3: Okay? Does it do that? If you have downloaded the
[25:20] Speaker 3: fifteen round mag No, so only when it's got the
[25:24] Speaker 3: full fifteen rounds.
[25:26] Speaker 9: Does it do it exactly? Yes, that's right.
[25:29] Speaker 3: So what you have is fourteen round magazines.
[25:34] Speaker 9: Yeah, you're right, Yep.
[25:37] Speaker 3: I don't want to It's like, I hate to cheat
[25:39] Speaker 3: you out of a round, but I think we just
[25:42] Speaker 3: figured out the workaround.
[25:45] Speaker 9: Yeah, I suppose I'd be smarter than play an amateur gunsmith.
[25:50] Speaker 3: I kind of hate the idea of messing with if
[25:52] Speaker 3: it's working fine at fourteen, you're going. You know, there's
[25:55] Speaker 3: a lot of guns out there where I would be
[25:57] Speaker 3: fine having fourteen plus one and let it go with
[25:59] Speaker 3: that and trying to mess with everything to get it
[26:03] Speaker 3: to work for the one extra round. I don't know,
[26:07] Speaker 3: it's probably where I would end up. But then again,
[26:10] Speaker 3: people would say, well, you're just lazy. You don't want
[26:12] Speaker 3: to work the problem.
[26:13] Speaker 9: No I don't.
[26:13] Speaker 3: I want to just work. I just want it to
[26:15] Speaker 3: work and not have the fool with it. So that's
[26:17] Speaker 3: just the way I roll on the thing.
[26:20] Speaker 9: That sounds like good advice to me. Dom, I appreciate it.
[26:23] Speaker 3: Well, all right, good luck with that. I hope that
[26:25] Speaker 3: works for you. Appreciate the call, sir, Oh, let's see
[26:28] Speaker 3: let's go grab. Where are we going here? Oh, we're
[26:32] Speaker 3: gonna get David on line three because we always like
[26:34] Speaker 3: to talk about bear guns. All I got to do
[26:36] Speaker 3: is say bear guns and phonees light up.
[26:38] Speaker 10: Hey David, how are you doing, sir?
[26:41] Speaker 3: Hey? I am good. You know what. I am free
[26:44] Speaker 3: of bears at the moment, So I'm good.
[26:47] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[26:48] Speaker 10: Well, I live in an area where they're pretty prevalent,
[26:51] Speaker 10: you know, spring, summer, fall, and I usually have a
[26:57] Speaker 10: nine millimeter, but they're getting a girl us. And I
[27:02] Speaker 10: was looking at the Smith and Wesson five hundred and
[27:05] Speaker 10: kind of comparing it to the three fifty seven's and
[27:08] Speaker 10: the forty four's that are out there, and I just
[27:11] Speaker 10: wanted your opinion. And I know they're big bears and
[27:17] Speaker 10: they get pretty aggressive, and I'm just looking at a revolver.
[27:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, the issue I have And just so you know,
[27:26] Speaker 3: I have five hundred, and I have forty four's and
[27:30] Speaker 3: forty fives and four to fifty four cassoles and nines
[27:33] Speaker 3: and I got them all. I mean, I got everything.
[27:37] Speaker 3: My issue with the five hundred is I think it
[27:39] Speaker 3: is a great hunting revolver. The problem I for me,
[27:46] Speaker 3: I'm not going to put it on you. The problem
[27:49] Speaker 3: for me is that I cannot make fast follow up shots.
[27:53] Speaker 3: The recoil is just too much. That thing is going
[27:57] Speaker 3: to rock back with the musclem going almost word and
[28:02] Speaker 3: there's no way I'm going to make quick follow up shots.
[28:06] Speaker 3: And I personally would rather have probably like a ported
[28:13] Speaker 3: forty four magnum that would keep the muzzle down a
[28:17] Speaker 3: little bit, and that way I could practice with forty
[28:21] Speaker 3: four special loads and do a lot of practice with it,
[28:25] Speaker 3: and then if you actually needed it on bears, with
[28:29] Speaker 3: the forty four magnum full house loads, you'll never feel
[28:32] Speaker 3: the recoil, but the compensation, a little muscle break or
[28:36] Speaker 3: something on there would help hold the muscle down. But
[28:40] Speaker 3: it would work just fine. And you understand, David, the
[28:44] Speaker 3: whole idea is everything we talk about is a compromise.
[28:47] Speaker 3: Even a five hundred is a compromise because you should
[28:50] Speaker 3: be carrying a rifle. But we're not going to carry
[28:52] Speaker 3: a rifle. It's just not what we're going to do.
[28:54] Speaker 3: And so it's somewhere between the nine and a three seven,
[28:58] Speaker 3: five h and h rifle. We've got to find something.
[29:02] Speaker 3: And I am so inconsistent with this. I am ashamed
[29:07] Speaker 3: to even talk about it, because sometimes I'll carry a
[29:09] Speaker 3: three fifty seven, sometimes a forty four Special, sometimes a
[29:13] Speaker 3: forty four magnum. And you know what it ends up
[29:16] Speaker 3: coming down to for me is like which gun do
[29:18] Speaker 3: I want to carry today? More than which one's going
[29:20] Speaker 3: to be effective.
[29:22] Speaker 9: Right now?
[29:27] Speaker 4: Yeah?
[29:27] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[29:27] Speaker 10: Did it topped me off the five hundred? So I
[29:34] Speaker 10: I just stout some forty four mags and go from there.
[29:39] Speaker 3: Well, and the beauty of the forty four mag is, Look,
[29:41] Speaker 3: I hate shooting forty four magnums, and I will just
[29:47] Speaker 3: I'll turn in my man card right here and say,
[29:50] Speaker 3: just they kick a lot and hurt, and they're not
[29:53] Speaker 3: much fun at all. And by the time I've gone
[29:57] Speaker 3: through a full cylinder a forty four magnum, I'm done.
[30:00] Speaker 3: That's all I want. But you take that same gun
[30:04] Speaker 3: and you shoot forty four Specials in it, and you
[30:07] Speaker 3: can shoot that for a morning. It's fun. Little light
[30:11] Speaker 3: loads that don't do it. And if you want to
[30:13] Speaker 3: go even further, you can shoot forty four Russian in
[30:16] Speaker 3: the same revolver, same thing, for even lower power. And
[30:20] Speaker 3: the forty four Russian AMMO is usually spectacularly accurate. So
[30:26] Speaker 3: now you've got your big revolver that you carry and
[30:29] Speaker 3: you can shoot these fun little load and go out
[30:32] Speaker 3: and do a lot of shooting a lot of practice
[30:34] Speaker 3: and get real comfortable with the gun. That's what makes
[30:37] Speaker 3: the forty four magnum so versatile for me. It makes
[30:41] Speaker 3: it doable. You know, you carry the full house loads
[30:45] Speaker 3: when you're out with bear, But I mean you're going
[30:47] Speaker 3: to want to go shoot half a dozen of the
[30:49] Speaker 3: full house loads through the gun at some point. But
[30:52] Speaker 3: it doesn't take long for that to be enough.
[30:57] Speaker 10: Yeah, no, no, I get it. Years ago when we
[31:00] Speaker 10: first moved up here, I had a four point fifty
[31:03] Speaker 10: eight and holy cow, I shot that a couple of times.
[31:06] Speaker 10: And if I had to travel for work, I told
[31:09] Speaker 10: my wife, I said, don't even go out the door.
[31:11] Speaker 10: Just shoot through the door.
[31:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, shoot through all the doors. Yeah. I mean, some
[31:22] Speaker 3: of these guns are really powerful, and they need to
[31:26] Speaker 3: be depending on which you're hunting. But holy cow, it
[31:29] Speaker 3: doesn't take long before you get at the point where
[31:31] Speaker 3: you're thinking, I don't want to do a lot of this.
[31:33] Speaker 3: I got to shoot up was it five or five?
[31:34] Speaker 3: Jeffrey good gravy. It's like, okay, yeah, thank you, very much.
[31:40] Speaker 3: Here you could have the other rounds back. I got
[31:42] Speaker 3: one off that was great. So I don't know. Maybe
[31:46] Speaker 3: I'm just at the point where I don't have anything
[31:48] Speaker 3: to prove anymore. So, but look, I wish you luck.
[31:50] Speaker 3: I if you get a chance, if you've got some
[31:52] Speaker 3: buddies who have a forty four magnum, try to go
[31:55] Speaker 3: shoot one with a forty four special in it and
[31:57] Speaker 3: see what you think. I think you'll like it.
[32:00] Speaker 10: Thank you for your time, Tom, love your show.
[32:02] Speaker 3: You bet good luck with that. Appreciate that. Hey, let's
[32:05] Speaker 3: grab Jim online four out of Colorado. Hey, Jim, you
[32:09] Speaker 3: made it onto gun Talk. What's going on? Hello?
[32:14] Speaker 11: Hey, hey, I just wanted to announce that the Ben

[34:00] Speaker 3: It's b l g C, Bravo, Limo Golf Charlie dot org,

[34:10] Speaker 4: Good.
[34:10] Speaker 3: Well, look, thanks for giving us the heads up and
[34:12] Speaker 3: letting us know because it sounds like a real nice
[34:14] Speaker 3: range and if people are in the area, they ought
[34:16] Speaker 3: to jump on that. Thank you. Thanks for the call.
[34:18] Speaker 3: I appreciate that. Jim, you take care. I like that
[34:24] Speaker 3: long rain shooting out there in Colorader.
[34:27] Speaker 12: Uh.
[34:27] Speaker 3: Let's see. Uh, let's go grab Maurice and Lake Charles.
[34:30] Speaker 3: I love that linke on Lane one. Hey, Maurice, thank
[34:33] Speaker 3: you for holding on what's going on in Lake Charles.
[34:35] Speaker 12: I want to talk about it. I just want to
[34:37] Speaker 12: tell you the only bears we got down here, he bears.
[34:40] Speaker 12: You just throw a piece of boot in, they'll let
[34:41] Speaker 12: you alone.
[34:44] Speaker 3: Yeah, they play they play football too.
[34:46] Speaker 12: They're good at that.
[34:47] Speaker 11: That's it.
[34:48] Speaker 12: They listen. The first thing was they just remind people
[34:51] Speaker 12: who are doing any kind of canting. And I've been
[34:54] Speaker 12: casting for years go A little while back, I picked
[34:58] Speaker 12: up a piece of lead that had been down signs
[35:01] Speaker 12: for a long time, but it been stored inside for
[35:03] Speaker 12: a couple of years. And when I dropped it into
[35:06] Speaker 12: the pot, it exploded. It had some moil. Oh, I
[35:10] Speaker 12: mean it burned a poopoo out of me, fortunately just
[35:14] Speaker 12: in a few places. But you know, hot leads hot, you.
[35:17] Speaker 3: Know, yeah, molten lead is hot. And then you drop
[35:21] Speaker 3: that in it with some water, all of a sudden,
[35:23] Speaker 3: the water just instantly vaporizes and blows up and it sprays.
[35:29] Speaker 12: Out of a list of explosion. And I've been I've
[35:32] Speaker 12: been casting leads since the seventies. I've never had it happen.
[35:35] Speaker 12: But but the other thing I want to tell you.
[35:39] Speaker 12: A couple of weeks ago, you had talked about how
[35:42] Speaker 12: when business wasn't doing something that you wanted to do,
[35:47] Speaker 12: you know, get on the phone, call your friends, call it. Well.
[35:50] Speaker 12: A number of years ago, I had an occasion to
[35:53] Speaker 12: get into a row with a pizza place. They mistreated
[35:57] Speaker 12: me pretty badly. Now I got to tell you, I
[36:00] Speaker 12: had haired down on my shoulders. I was a musician,
[36:02] Speaker 12: but I was a regular customer, you know, and the
[36:05] Speaker 12: guy called cops home and threw me out. So I
[36:09] Speaker 12: called the district manager and he passed it on up
[36:11] Speaker 12: to the CEO. The CEO called me and said, look,
[36:15] Speaker 12: he said this is important to us because for every
[36:18] Speaker 12: one complaint on a local level, we multiplied times one hundred.
[36:23] Speaker 12: And I was talking to another CEO a few years
[36:26] Speaker 12: later he said, huh, he said, we multiply it by
[36:28] Speaker 12: a thousand. So one letter. Don't think that your one
[36:32] Speaker 12: letters aren't going to do anything, because if it gets
[36:34] Speaker 12: in the right hands, they're going to multiply it. They're
[36:37] Speaker 12: not going to say this is just an isolated incident.
[36:40] Speaker 12: They're going to figure it's whatever you're complaining about's happening
[36:43] Speaker 12: more and more.
[36:45] Speaker 3: And Maurice to your point with your example, the local
[36:49] Speaker 3: manager may blow it off, but usually the higher up
[36:53] Speaker 3: you go, the more they pay attention to that. That's
[36:56] Speaker 3: really interesting.
[36:57] Speaker 12: That is and I mean, this is this is what
[36:59] Speaker 12: I got from CEOs. This wasn't just something that.
[37:03] Speaker 9: Was pulled out there.
[37:04] Speaker 12: These are the people that managed the pizzas company was
[37:07] Speaker 12: a nation, nationwide chain, you know, and so I was
[37:11] Speaker 12: really surprised. I mean, I got results, and it's not
[37:15] Speaker 12: going to happen every time, but I guarantee you you
[37:17] Speaker 12: got a better chance of people paying attention. So if
[37:21] Speaker 12: a company is that doing something that you're comfortable with,
[37:24] Speaker 12: let them know.
[37:25] Speaker 3: There you go, there you go. Well, thank you, sir.
[37:28] Speaker 3: I appreciate that call. I wanted that reminds me. I
[37:31] Speaker 3: want to share a story that came out of Florida.
[37:33] Speaker 3: A couple of weeks ago at Hoa Homeowners Association passed
[37:38] Speaker 3: a new rule, no guns in public areas on the
[37:41] Speaker 3: HOA property. Well, that went over like a lead balloon,
[37:46] Speaker 3: as you might imagine in Florida, where you got constitutional carry.
[37:50] Speaker 3: They said, yeah, but it's Hoa, we can do what
[37:52] Speaker 3: we want. Well, you can tell you you can't. And
[37:55] Speaker 3: the Florida Attorney General got involved in it because there
[37:59] Speaker 3: was a uproar online and I was talking about it
[38:02] Speaker 3: a good bit online. The Florida Attorney General came in
[38:05] Speaker 3: and says, yeah, no, you can't do that. We have
[38:08] Speaker 3: pre insion laws here even know, and they have already
[38:12] Speaker 3: changed their mind and pulled it back. So just case
[38:14] Speaker 3: and point, it's like, you do have the ability, especially
[38:19] Speaker 3: if you can put a few people together, you can
[38:22] Speaker 3: make a change in some of these things. Let's see, Jim,
[38:27] Speaker 3: we've got time to get Fred in here. Nope, we don't. Okay, Fred,
[38:30] Speaker 3: don't go anywhere. I'm gonna have to hit the brake here,
[38:32] Speaker 3: but I want to put you back in on the
[38:33] Speaker 3: backside here. I don't want to short change it because
[38:35] Speaker 3: you've only got a minute or so left here. So
[38:38] Speaker 3: all right, let me go out that website again. By
[38:39] Speaker 3: the way, if you're in Colorado, the Ben Loman Gun
[38:43] Speaker 3: Club which is BLGC for Ben Lomangun Club dot org.
[38:47] Speaker 3: We appreciated the call. Some of these clubs, there's a
[38:51] Speaker 3: long waiting list. It's hard to get in on some
[38:53] Speaker 3: of these shooting ranges, so it's nice when you got
[38:56] Speaker 3: it opening to jump right in there. I belong to
[38:59] Speaker 3: two different gun ranges, and I make sure that I
[39:01] Speaker 3: renew every year just so I can get in on them,
[39:04] Speaker 3: one that's local to me and one that's not. But
[39:07] Speaker 3: the local one gets covered up with six to twelve
[39:10] Speaker 3: feet of snow in the winter, so we can't shoot there.
[39:12] Speaker 3: So I got to have a place in lower elevations,
[39:15] Speaker 3: so we go down there and shoot in the winter.
[39:17] Speaker 3: It's a long drive, but it's either that or you
[39:20] Speaker 3: don't shoot at all. So there you go. It's just
[39:22] Speaker 3: one of the beauties or hazards of living where we do.
[39:25] Speaker 3: But we do love it all right. Eight six six
[39:28] Speaker 3: Talk Gun or Tom Talkgun. I'm Tom Greshmer. Check it
[39:30] Speaker 3: out gun talk dot com. We'll be right back. I
[39:42] Speaker 3: was thinking about how to explain why do I keep
[39:46] Speaker 3: going back and taking the same class again at gun
[39:49] Speaker 3: Sight and look, I have been to the cig Academy
[39:53] Speaker 3: and the Smith and Wesson Academy and tac Pro in Texas,
[39:57] Speaker 3: and Firearms Academy of Seattle and Academy and Gunside and
[40:02] Speaker 3: thunder Ranch, and it basically end up going back and
[40:06] Speaker 3: taking essentially the same class everywhere I go because you
[40:12] Speaker 3: need to tune up because I get rusty. I mean,
[40:15] Speaker 3: I found that I was two days into the class
[40:18] Speaker 3: this time before I was starting to really get my
[40:20] Speaker 3: skills back. I haven't practiced enough that. Again, do any
[40:24] Speaker 3: of us really practice enough? I mean, if you're a
[40:26] Speaker 3: competitive shooter, you're out there shooting five hundred rounds a week,
[40:30] Speaker 3: that's good. You're probably tuned up. I don't shoot that much.
[40:33] Speaker 3: I'm gonna try to. I just bought a whole bunch more, ammo.
[40:35] Speaker 3: I'm gona try to get out shoot a good bit
[40:37] Speaker 3: more and work on specific things. But in terms of
[40:43] Speaker 3: what do you get out of something like that, I
[40:46] Speaker 3: think you definitely get skills, physical skills, learn to shoot
[40:51] Speaker 3: and learn to draw. You get mental skills, so I
[40:57] Speaker 3: think psychological skills of getting your brain tuned up. Of Okay,
[41:02] Speaker 3: I can do this, I must do this, I will
[41:06] Speaker 3: do this. This is how I will respond. You're putting
[41:10] Speaker 3: all that stuff in your head. And I do understand
[41:17] Speaker 3: that there's a real commitment of time and money. There is,
[41:22] Speaker 3: and I don't want to make light of that. And
[41:29] Speaker 3: we all are pressed for money, and nobody has an
[41:31] Speaker 3: unlimited budget as far as I know, And I would
[41:36] Speaker 3: just say, try to find some way to get training.
[41:39] Speaker 3: If you can go to top school grade, if you
[41:41] Speaker 3: can't find somebody locally, it's better than nothing. It is
[41:45] Speaker 3: going to be better than nothing. And yeah, they're good
[41:49] Speaker 3: YouTube places. You can go to our place, rains Ready
[41:52] Speaker 3: Studios down Louisiana. We have really good training and it's
[41:54] Speaker 3: not nearly as expensive as some of the big schools,
[41:57] Speaker 3: so it's top dots. It's very good. So you can
[42:00] Speaker 3: check out rains Ready Studios dot com look for the
[42:03] Speaker 3: schedule there. We're always doing fun stuff. Sign up for
[42:07] Speaker 3: the newsletter because a lot of us we'll have a
[42:09] Speaker 3: company that comes down and says, hey, we want to
[42:11] Speaker 3: introduce a new product, and we'd like to have some
[42:13] Speaker 3: of your people come in and we open those up
[42:16] Speaker 3: for people to come in and shoot the brand new product.
[42:19] Speaker 3: And those things sell out within two days, so if
[42:22] Speaker 3: you wait for it to show up on the website,
[42:24] Speaker 3: it probably won't. You got to be on the newsletter list,
[42:27] Speaker 3: so there you go. I like going to this because
[42:32] Speaker 3: it reinforces to me I'm carrying every day I'm looking,
[42:36] Speaker 3: and I'm going to try to avoid a confrontation if
[42:38] Speaker 3: at all possible. You also learn different ways of doing
[42:42] Speaker 3: different things, and that's like with the flying stuff I
[42:45] Speaker 3: was just doing and flying into weird little places in
[42:47] Speaker 3: the middle of nowhere, and we're flying one hundred and
[42:50] Speaker 3: fifty feet off of the ground as we make our approach. Yeah,
[42:52] Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty feet doing really low approaches into
[42:56] Speaker 3: places and landing in places that people would say, you
[42:58] Speaker 3: can't land an airplane there. Yeah, you can if you
[43:01] Speaker 3: have the right technique. Yeah, you can shoot well. If
[43:03] Speaker 3: you have the right technique, you can shoot better than
[43:05] Speaker 3: you shoot now, a lot better. You just you need
[43:10] Speaker 3: a good set of eyes and a trainer who could
[43:13] Speaker 3: explain it to you. So whether you go, it doesn't
[43:16] Speaker 3: matter where you go. Go somewhere and you'll hear Ryan
[43:18] Speaker 3: say the same thing. Congratulations, by the way to Ryan
[43:21] Speaker 3: and the crew of hitting a million followers on Facebook.
[43:25] Speaker 3: The Range Ready crew, the gun Talk Headquarters crew is amazing.
[43:29] Speaker 3: It's a small number of people and they outperform teams
[43:32] Speaker 3: out there that have several times more people. It's really worthwhile.
[43:36] Speaker 3: And if you get down to Range Ready you'll see
[43:39] Speaker 3: where I'm talking about. Everybody that goes says, that's the
[43:41] Speaker 3: most amazing group of people I've ever been with. Yeah,
[43:43] Speaker 3: they are. Hey, check out the after show. We're going
[43:46] Speaker 3: to move Fred over there. Just because we thought this
[43:48] Speaker 3: stuff was that interesting. So that'll be available on our
[43:52] Speaker 3: podcast in just a few hours after the show. In
[43:54] Speaker 3: the meantime, go out and have yourself a good weekend, Barb.
[43:57] Speaker 3: If you be with your friends, remember why we are
[44:00] Speaker 3: and bring this weekend you. Be careful out there. We'll
[44:03] Speaker 3: see you next week right here on gun Talk.
