[0:21] Speaker 2: Ruger LCP max with magpoll EHG the pocket pistol perfected
[0:27] Speaker 2: carry Moore carry Confident.
[0:32] Speaker 3: Well, the courts didn't even recognize we have any Second
[0:34] Speaker 3: Amendment rights. This is an issue that people are interested
[0:38] Speaker 3: in because, if you think about it, gunos are the
[0:41] Speaker 3: ones who are going to go to prison if they
[0:43] Speaker 3: violate these stupid laws that are adverse to the Second Amendment.
[0:47] Speaker 4: All right, welcome back to gun Talk. Tom Greshab. You're
[0:49] Speaker 4: glad you could be with us, you know, through the years,
[0:51] Speaker 4: and you know, I've been doing this a long time.
[0:53] Speaker 4: This guy I've been reading and studying and paying attention
[0:56] Speaker 4: to well pretty much forever. Stephen Holbrook is I'm just
[1:00] Speaker 4: going to say it here, the most influential person in
[1:05] Speaker 4: the Second Amendment battle over the last half century. Steve,
[1:10] Speaker 4: you join us.
[1:11] Speaker 5: Now.
[1:11] Speaker 4: You wrote so many books, so many articles, starting off
[1:14] Speaker 4: nineteen eighty one, George Mason, University of Law Review, And
[1:18] Speaker 4: I mean we're talking forty five years ago. You written that,
[1:21] Speaker 4: I think a book that everybody had to have a
[1:23] Speaker 4: copy of, that every Man Be Armed. It goes on
[1:25] Speaker 4: and on the Supreme Court in these lower courts to
[1:28] Speaker 4: keep quoting your material. How in the world as you
[1:31] Speaker 4: decided this was going to be your life's work.
[1:33] Speaker 6: Well, Tom, you're really dating me now.
[1:36] Speaker 3: I got interested in this subject in the late sixties,
[1:39] Speaker 3: when so much was happening in Congress. In some states
[1:43] Speaker 3: we ended up with the Gun Control Act of nineteen
[1:45] Speaker 3: sixty eight. A lot worse stuff was defeated that was
[1:49] Speaker 3: being proposed, particularly gun registration. And I was always interested
[1:55] Speaker 3: in the topic because I grew up in a small town.
[1:57] Speaker 3: I hunted and did target shooting and things like that.
[2:00] Speaker 3: So when I got to college, I started reading on
[2:03] Speaker 3: the Second Amendment, and it was pretty obvious that very
[2:06] Speaker 3: little had been published on it, and it's a right
[2:10] Speaker 3: that needed guarding because nobody was taken up for it.
[2:13] Speaker 3: In polite society. The First Amendment was king, but the
[2:17] Speaker 3: Second Amendment was kind of like where are you from?
[2:21] Speaker 4: It was the redhead step child of the whole thing.
[2:23] Speaker 6: And way back.
[2:25] Speaker 4: People don't understand now that there was almost no discussion
[2:29] Speaker 4: on the second startaing, not in law schools and historians
[2:32] Speaker 4: and your historian first and foremost, and you you have
[2:36] Speaker 4: brought this now, you fleshed it out, if you will.
[2:40] Speaker 3: So in the seventies several US scholars started meeting and
[2:45] Speaker 3: deciding that we're going to publish on it, exchanged information,
[2:48] Speaker 3: and we started doing that, and so my first book
[2:52] Speaker 3: was in eighty four, that every Man Be Armed, and
[2:55] Speaker 3: other people brought out other law review articles and books,
[2:58] Speaker 3: and eventually our model, what we promoted, the individual rights
[3:03] Speaker 3: interpretation of the second moment became the standard model, and
[3:07] Speaker 3: the so called collective right that you can only have
[3:10] Speaker 3: a gun if you're in the Mulisia or the national
[3:12] Speaker 3: card that came to be academically not very prestigious. After
[3:18] Speaker 3: all that all accumulated in the Supreme Court and the
[3:22] Speaker 3: Heller decision where the Court found its individual right handgun
[3:26] Speaker 3: bans unconstitutional, and then it's just been building since then,
[3:31] Speaker 3: I mean, after Scalia died, court didn't look at the
[3:35] Speaker 3: issue for a long time, and finally we get Bruin
[3:38] Speaker 3: and then we get two new decisions just last June.
[3:44] Speaker 4: You just had an article and Reason the magazine about
[3:46] Speaker 4: a couple of different cases, and it's a good example
[3:50] Speaker 4: of what goes on. You got two different circus, the
[3:53] Speaker 4: first in the tent deciding different directions on waiting periods
[3:57] Speaker 4: or so called cooling off periods, and one says, yes,
[4:01] Speaker 4: it's perfectly illegal to force people to wait to exercise
[4:04] Speaker 4: their secondment rights, and the other says, no, you cannot
[4:08] Speaker 4: cause a delay the whole thing with waiting periods. We
[4:12] Speaker 4: have any number of cases like this. We just had
[4:15] Speaker 4: a recent one this year, a woman named Carol Brown.
[4:18] Speaker 4: She was killed while she was waiting for her handgun
[4:23] Speaker 4: purchase to be approved. She is involved in a waiting
[4:26] Speaker 4: waiting period, and in time and time again, waiting periods
[4:29] Speaker 4: get people killed.
[4:31] Speaker 3: So what we ended up with you mentioned the two cases,
[4:34] Speaker 3: the first circuit in the tenth Circuit, So Maine passed
[4:37] Speaker 3: the law requiring a waiting period, and the district court
[4:42] Speaker 3: invalidated that law because under the Supreme Court's recent precedence,
[4:46] Speaker 3: there's no historical analog from the founding period about waiting
[4:51] Speaker 3: periods that would justify that. The Supreme Court in Bruin
[4:55] Speaker 3: said a state can pass the law to make you
[4:58] Speaker 3: wait long enough to do the back ground check, but
[5:01] Speaker 3: that if that's put to abusive ends, then that's not
[5:05] Speaker 3: going to be constitutional.
[5:06] Speaker 4: You can't even imagine them support anybody supporting that or
[5:10] Speaker 4: a First Amendment right. So we're going to have to
[5:12] Speaker 4: wait a week before you could buy a computer or
[5:15] Speaker 4: a cell phone or for.
[5:17] Speaker 3: The government to check and make sure that you're not
[5:20] Speaker 3: committing libel or sedition or something like that. You have
[5:23] Speaker 3: a right to free speech. There's no prior restraint, I
[5:26] Speaker 3: mean waiting for the prior restraint, and that's fundamental in
[5:30] Speaker 3: First Amendment doctor though, that you cannot sensor somebody before
[5:34] Speaker 3: they speak.
[5:36] Speaker 4: Let me ask you. You've been at this a long time,
[5:38] Speaker 4: as have I, and I try to help people understand.
[5:42] Speaker 4: Give some perspective here, because everybody wants everything immediately, and
[5:47] Speaker 4: why didn't they do this, and why didn't the NRA
[5:49] Speaker 4: do this? And why didn't our guys, you know, and
[5:51] Speaker 4: I keep telling them, guys were winning. We and it
[5:54] Speaker 4: may not be winning as are moving ahead as fast
[5:57] Speaker 4: as we want, but you know, we are really winning
[6:01] Speaker 4: big time. And as you look at this with the
[6:04] Speaker 4: perspective of having been there for half a century.
[6:08] Speaker 3: What's your take, Well, the courts didn't even recognize we
[6:11] Speaker 3: had any Second Amendment rights, and now it's being litigated
[6:16] Speaker 3: all of the country. It's hard to keep track of
[6:18] Speaker 3: all the cases that are coming down. And the Supreme Court,
[6:21] Speaker 3: I'm very excited about this. They agreed to evaluate the
[6:26] Speaker 3: Cook County, Illinois and the Connecticut so called assault weapon ban.
[6:32] Speaker 3: That's going to be Well, I'm doing an Ameka's brief
[6:35] Speaker 3: in the case, and I wrote a book called America's Rifle,
[6:38] Speaker 3: the Case for the AR fifteen, and that was to
[6:42] Speaker 3: try to make the argument in anticipation that maybe the
[6:45] Speaker 3: Court would take on this issue. So I'm glad that
[6:49] Speaker 3: I did write the book.
[6:49] Speaker 4: Well, you've been doing that for a long time, anticipating
[6:52] Speaker 4: the courts are going to look at this at some point.
[6:54] Speaker 4: It might be next year, it might be in twenty years,
[6:57] Speaker 4: and you're putting out the literature. You're putting out the
[7:02] Speaker 4: academic scholarship that helps the court sort all this out.
[7:07] Speaker 3: By the way, for your listeners, it's a fun book.
[7:10] Speaker 3: Probably if you're a listener, you probably own an AR fifteen,
[7:13] Speaker 3: and there's a lot of history in there about what
[7:18] Speaker 3: our ancestors thought that you could own about the development
[7:23] Speaker 3: of the AR fifteen and the fact that it's been
[7:26] Speaker 3: part of the gun owners heritage, that you know, the
[7:30] Speaker 3: uses that they're put to mostly target practice, people use
[7:34] Speaker 3: them for hunting, and mostly higher calibers than two twenty three.
[7:39] Speaker 3: But I mean, it's America's rifle and it's something I'm hoping,
[7:44] Speaker 3: I'm optimistic of the Supreme Court is going to find
[7:47] Speaker 3: that it's constitutionally protected.
[7:49] Speaker 4: Well, where do we go after that? Because I think
[7:51] Speaker 4: you're right. I think we're going to find that the
[7:53] Speaker 4: Supreme Court is going to come back and say, yeah,
[7:54] Speaker 4: you cannot ban AR fifteens. And then maybe what's next?
[7:59] Speaker 4: Are we looking at maybe these glock bands and they're
[8:01] Speaker 4: trying to ban certain handguns.
[8:04] Speaker 3: The Court already said in Heller you can't ban handguns
[8:07] Speaker 3: and this is so ridiculous. But that litigation is just
[8:11] Speaker 3: starting up in the district court because the handgun band,
[8:14] Speaker 3: I mean, the glock bands are so recent, so it's
[8:17] Speaker 3: going to be some time. But what I think the
[8:20] Speaker 3: court needs to turn to next is so called sensitive places.
[8:23] Speaker 3: What New York and some of the other courts did
[8:26] Speaker 3: to try to spit in the Supreme Court's face after
[8:30] Speaker 3: Supreme Court said you have to issue carry permits to
[8:34] Speaker 3: regular people, not just high and mighty people or people
[8:37] Speaker 3: who give you bribes like that was the case in
[8:40] Speaker 3: New York City. So those states reacted by saying, Okay,
[8:45] Speaker 3: we'll give you a carry permit, but you can't carry
[8:47] Speaker 3: it virtually anywhere.
[8:48] Speaker 4: The other one, of course, is the magazine capacity limits.
[8:52] Speaker 3: Right the Supreme Courts agreed to hear so called assault
[8:57] Speaker 3: weapon bands modern sporting rifles. Magazine bands is not part
[9:02] Speaker 3: of that case. Those two cases.
[9:05] Speaker 4: Steve Harberg, I just want people to understand that if
[9:08] Speaker 4: they get a copy of the Right to Bear Arms,
[9:11] Speaker 4: one of your more recent books, that every Man Be Armed,
[9:14] Speaker 4: one of your original books, and of course the AR
[9:16] Speaker 4: fifteen book, I think they're really equipped to understand pretty
[9:21] Speaker 4: well the Second Amendment and the scholarship behind it. You
[9:24] Speaker 4: just do a wonderful job of explaining all this.
[9:27] Speaker 3: Well, thank you for that. And one thing I've noticed
[9:30] Speaker 3: is that I can me and other persons, we can
[9:34] Speaker 3: put for a scholarly history of Second Amendment rights, and
[9:38] Speaker 3: regular people like to read that. It's not just for
[9:41] Speaker 3: lawyers and judges. Because I've seen that people who exercise
[9:46] Speaker 3: Second Amendment rights are highly interested in protecting those rights,
[9:50] Speaker 3: and they read a lot, so it's not something that
[9:55] Speaker 3: happens with every other right where they read the history
[9:58] Speaker 3: of the right to free speech or religion writing. People
[10:03] Speaker 3: engaging a lot of free speech, but they don't read
[10:05] Speaker 3: books on it necessarily. This is an issue that people
[10:09] Speaker 3: are interested in because, if you think about it, gun
[10:11] Speaker 3: ons are the ones who are going to go to
[10:13] Speaker 3: prison if they violate these stupid laws that are adverse
[10:16] Speaker 3: to the Second Amendment.
[10:18] Speaker 4: Well, thank you so much for your time and for
[10:19] Speaker 4: your lifetime of work. It is important work, and as
[10:22] Speaker 4: I say, I don't think there's anybody who has been
[10:24] Speaker 4: more influential in us regaining our Second Amendment rights.
[10:28] Speaker 3: Well, thank you for that time. It's always nice to
[10:30] Speaker 3: talk to you and me on your show.
[10:32] Speaker 4: All right, don't go far, we'll be right back with
[10:34] Speaker 4: more gun talk.

[13:19] Speaker 4: All right, it's just you and me, now, give me
[13:22] Speaker 4: a call. If you've got something on your mind. You
[13:25] Speaker 4: want to talk about a particular gun. Is there one?
[13:28] Speaker 4: All right? Here's one. If you had to reach in
[13:29] Speaker 4: the back of your safe, is there a gun back there?
[13:34] Speaker 4: It hasn't been shot for quite a while, maybe many,
[13:37] Speaker 4: many years. Do you even remember what's in the back
[13:42] Speaker 4: of your safe? I got some back there, you know,
[13:48] Speaker 4: and I think, well, if you haven't shot it, all right,
[13:51] Speaker 4: here's the question. If you haven't shot it for a while,
[13:53] Speaker 4: I mean, like ten years, there is there make any
[13:58] Speaker 4: sense to hold on to it. Would you be better
[14:01] Speaker 4: off selling it, taking that money and turning it around
[14:05] Speaker 4: and buying a gun that you would shoot. I mean,
[14:09] Speaker 4: I understand that there are family heirlooms. You're going to
[14:12] Speaker 4: say that that's going to stay in the family. Okay, great.
[14:14] Speaker 4: I understand that if you got a gun or some
[14:17] Speaker 4: guns that just maybe there's nothing special, but you just
[14:21] Speaker 4: haven't gotten around to shoot them. Where do you fall
[14:24] Speaker 4: on that? Do you hold on to it? Look? I
[14:27] Speaker 4: know people who say just I mean, they're adamant. I
[14:31] Speaker 4: never sell guns, like okay, I do. Typically I sell
[14:38] Speaker 4: guns so I can buy other guns. I don't see
[14:41] Speaker 4: much point in holding on to a gun that I'm
[14:43] Speaker 4: not shooting, and I'd have no intention of shooting some
[14:47] Speaker 4: of them. I got ten years ago, twenty years ago,
[14:51] Speaker 4: thirty years ago, and shout it for a little while,
[14:55] Speaker 4: hunted with them. A couple of times, and I now
[14:58] Speaker 4: have other guns I like better. I don't know why
[15:02] Speaker 4: I still have them. Honestly, I think maybe it's time
[15:04] Speaker 4: to get rid of them. If you've got anything like that,
[15:07] Speaker 4: give me a call. Let's talk about that again. Number
[15:09] Speaker 4: here is really easy, Tom talk gun. Some stories out
[15:13] Speaker 4: of the news. Federal judge upholds a Massachusetts handgun ban
[15:18] Speaker 4: for eighteen to twenty year olds. The Second Amendment Foundation
[15:22] Speaker 4: in the NRA sued. I think along with FBC, we
[15:27] Speaker 4: had a judge ruled that a Massachusetts law banning eighteen
[15:30] Speaker 4: to twenty year olds from possessing handguns and semi automatic firearms.
[15:37] Speaker 4: He said, yeah, that's okay. Yeah, they're citizens, are like
[15:40] Speaker 4: full US citizens. They're adults because at eighteen you're an adult.
[15:48] Speaker 4: But we don't think they're adult enough. Really, are there
[15:52] Speaker 4: other rights where you have to be like more adult
[15:56] Speaker 4: than adult? Voting? Free speech? Got some other rights Massachusetts.
[16:05] Speaker 4: I expect that that's going to be appeal to guarantee you. Oh,
[16:10] Speaker 4: here's the good one. This one broke this week. This
[16:12] Speaker 4: is good. The Department Justice is finalized how to get
[16:17] Speaker 4: back your gun rights. This has been off the table
[16:21] Speaker 4: for probably close to thirty years. Now when Congress saying
[16:27] Speaker 4: maybe it was the Lautenberg maybe it was, they took
[16:33] Speaker 4: away the funding from ATF and said, yeah, you cannot
[16:36] Speaker 4: process any applications for people to get their gun rights back.
[16:40] Speaker 4: Used to be you could apply if you had a
[16:42] Speaker 4: fallity conviction and it was nonviolent and time had passed,
[16:49] Speaker 4: and you could apply and you could get your gun
[16:50] Speaker 4: rights back. And then Congress, with the democratically controlled Congress,
[16:56] Speaker 4: passed a law that said nope, actually removed the budgeting
[17:03] Speaker 4: from ATF. I said you can't use your money to
[17:06] Speaker 4: do this. No one would go forward after that and say, well,
[17:12] Speaker 4: I'm in favor of felons being able to own guns.
[17:14] Speaker 4: Nobody wanted to take that position. They're all cowards. Until
[17:18] Speaker 4: Donald Trump got here and the Trump administration of the
[17:22] Speaker 4: Trump DJ and they said, no, you should be able
[17:27] Speaker 4: to get your gun rights back if you're nonviolent, you
[17:32] Speaker 4: weren't convicted of a violent crime, you know, and you
[17:36] Speaker 4: know you've got there's application process. And so now they've
[17:40] Speaker 4: got that set up. So and if you fall into
[17:46] Speaker 4: this category, you can check on this online. It's good
[17:50] Speaker 4: information out there. I like this. The new Attorney General,
[17:53] Speaker 4: Todd Blanche said the Second Amendment is not a second
[17:57] Speaker 4: class right, and the federal government should not permanently deprive
[18:02] Speaker 4: Americans of a constitutional right without regard to whether they
[18:06] Speaker 4: pose a danger to public safety. He says this rule
[18:11] Speaker 4: establishes a rigorous, common sense process that protects the public
[18:17] Speaker 4: while giving deserving Americans a real path to restoration. Works
[18:23] Speaker 4: for me, all right, let's go to the phones line
[18:25] Speaker 4: one bills with us in Denver, Colorado. Hey, Bill, what
[18:28] Speaker 4: are you carry in these days?
[18:30] Speaker 10: Tom? I've got a Smith and Lesson bodyguard two dot zero.
[18:35] Speaker 6: I bought it.
[18:35] Speaker 10: No, I got the od green because the whole thing
[18:38] Speaker 10: is sarah couded, because I'm concerned about ulster wear. I've
[18:41] Speaker 10: got it in one of those old Bianchi Nylon three
[18:45] Speaker 10: slot bel holsters that.
[18:47] Speaker 4: I carry, Okay, And the thing.
[18:50] Speaker 10: Is lighter than my phone in my pocket. It goes
[18:53] Speaker 10: boom like a Block thirty and it stopped pulling my
[18:55] Speaker 10: pasts down like my block twenty six. So so far,
[18:58] Speaker 10: so good. And I see it with those to be
[19:00] Speaker 10: critical defense ammunition.
[19:04] Speaker 4: How's it shoot.
[19:06] Speaker 6: Mine?
[19:07] Speaker 10: I've got I'm six four two twenty or two fifty,
[19:10] Speaker 10: so my hands are pretty good size. I find it
[19:13] Speaker 10: easy control slight, it's easy to work. You know, it's
[19:16] Speaker 10: a it's a compromise. I get it, but it disappears.
[19:19] Speaker 10: I mean you can't feel it, you can't see it.
[19:21] Speaker 10: It's just like it's like a hit and gun.
[19:23] Speaker 6: It's just like it's perfect.
[19:25] Speaker 4: You know, every gun that we carrety is a compromise,
[19:28] Speaker 4: isn't it.
[19:30] Speaker 11: Yeah.
[19:31] Speaker 10: My only disappointment is the lack of extended magazine support.
[19:34] Speaker 10: It doesn't seem to be anything out there bigger than
[19:36] Speaker 10: twelve rounds. That's my only the finally disappointment.
[19:38] Speaker 4: Interesting, Okay, I wonder I hadn't thought about that. I
[19:43] Speaker 4: guess I had not paid attention to that fact. There
[19:46] Speaker 4: ought to be somebody who could come up with extended magazines,
[19:50] Speaker 4: maybe give a little more purchase there. I wonder if
[19:54] Speaker 4: somebody like MegaR or somebody, you know, aftermarket magazine maker
[19:58] Speaker 4: would do that, because my sense is that Smith is
[20:02] Speaker 4: selling a lot of these, so I would think they'd
[20:04] Speaker 4: be a market for that.
[20:06] Speaker 10: Well, difference of all about sales volume, But as soon
[20:09] Speaker 10: as there's enough volume, they'll.
[20:10] Speaker 6: They'll they'll jump in.
[20:11] Speaker 10: So I don't know what the number is, that's my guest.
[20:13] Speaker 4: Yep, No, exactly. If I get a chance, I'll ask
[20:16] Speaker 4: somebody at Smith that they're working on that. Thanks Belle,
[20:17] Speaker 4: I appreciate the call. Sir. Let's grab Mike out of
[20:20] Speaker 4: Mississippi on two. Hey Mike, you're.
[20:23] Speaker 5: Up, Hi, you and John, I got a range before
[20:27] Speaker 5: you on a set of on a pair of guns.
[20:29] Speaker 5: I've looked to the Smith and Wesson volting pistol caliber
[20:32] Speaker 5: Carby and a shield plus open nine millimeter and out
[20:39] Speaker 5: of the box, I had the best trigger on the market.
[20:43] Speaker 4: I like the shield plus a lot. It is one
[20:47] Speaker 4: of those that I talk about that particular category. I
[20:50] Speaker 4: think that is a terrific gun and really shoots.
[20:53] Speaker 6: Well.
[20:55] Speaker 5: Yeah, I took both of them out. I got a
[20:57] Speaker 5: range in my backyard. But I took them to the
[20:59] Speaker 5: local us p S a match and we had a
[21:02] Speaker 5: car being and pistol combo match and I shot both
[21:06] Speaker 5: of them in there, and I had three people borrow
[21:08] Speaker 5: on the shoes.
[21:10] Speaker 4: Well, tell me about your car being and I'm really
[21:14] Speaker 4: let me let me ask you. I'm really interwered in
[21:15] Speaker 4: your car being.
[21:18] Speaker 5: Yes, sir, what you want to know, well, I've got it.
[21:22] Speaker 5: Talked with a Hallowsome, a r O red dye optic
[21:26] Speaker 5: with the two m o A dot Uh huh. It
[21:29] Speaker 5: comes with two twenty five round magazines and a seventeen
[21:32] Speaker 5: round magazine and it runs flawlessly.
[21:36] Speaker 4: Uh did you get it for competition or for what?
[21:40] Speaker 6: You got it from?
[21:41] Speaker 5: My granddaughter because she likes the car being better than
[21:43] Speaker 5: she does hangout. She cried away from her half the time.
[21:49] Speaker 4: Well you know what that means, you gonna have to
[21:51] Speaker 4: buy one for yourself.
[21:53] Speaker 5: Well, matter of fact, she had a lofter PDP. I
[21:56] Speaker 5: did a range repour months ago on it. She didn't
[21:59] Speaker 5: she didn't like it. So last weekend I bought her
[22:02] Speaker 5: a sig X macro com Man.
[22:06] Speaker 4: You're a good granddad, I tell you what that works.
[22:09] Speaker 4: That's a great range of for it. By the way,
[22:10] Speaker 4: I love that. And yeah, I am very interested in
[22:12] Speaker 4: those pistol caliber car beans and the ones with the
[22:15] Speaker 4: folding stock. We go back to that topic of truck gun.
[22:20] Speaker 4: Do you need a truck gun? I don't know if
[22:21] Speaker 4: you need it, but do you want it? Well, that's
[22:24] Speaker 4: all that really matters, is it. Sight If you can
[22:26] Speaker 4: afford well, heck we even buying who we can't afford them?
[22:29] Speaker 4: Eight six' six talk. Gun give me a.
[22:31] Speaker 12: Shout, well we were talking about the three eighty pistol
[22:40] Speaker 12: and a lot of different ones out there concealed, carry
[22:43] Speaker 12: AND i wanted to mention one that we haven't talked
[22:46] Speaker 12: about a.
[22:46] Speaker 4: Lot it's The Ruger security three. Eighty it's a fifteen
[22:50] Speaker 4: plus one. Round it was gonna say mid, size but
[22:55] Speaker 4: it's not really. That it's it's a micro. Compact it's
[22:58] Speaker 4: not as micro AS. Lcp here's what do they call
[23:02] Speaker 4: the light rack slide on it very easy to work
[23:05] Speaker 4: to slide fiber optic front, sight not very. Expensive it's
[23:09] Speaker 4: called The security eight three Eighty Ruger security three. Eighty
[23:13] Speaker 4: they also have Their max nine if you want a nine.
[23:16] Speaker 4: MILLIMETER a lot of really good pistols out there these.
[23:18] Speaker 4: Days it's just amazing how many good news we. Have
[23:22] Speaker 4: let's see, here where are we. Going we're gonna go
[23:26] Speaker 4: to make SURE i get the right one, here, Guys line.
[23:29] Speaker 4: Three john's with us out Of New. Mexico Hey, john
[23:33] Speaker 4: thanks for your.
[23:33] Speaker 6: Patients say, there how you doing?
[23:36] Speaker 4: Today i'm good truck guns talk to.
[23:38] Speaker 11: Me, WELL i didn't know if you were still talking about,
[23:41] Speaker 11: them BECAUSE i can only get you on. PODCASTS i
[23:44] Speaker 11: guess you are for WHAT i.
[23:45] Speaker 10: HEARD i talk about them all the.
[23:47] Speaker 6: Time i've been.
[23:50] Speaker 11: Wrestling for several several months, too trying to find a good,
[23:53] Speaker 11: one and now IT'S, nfa things got even more. Confused
[23:57] Speaker 11: but one of the Things i've been looking at AND
[23:59] Speaker 11: i kind of wanted to get your is this Smith
[24:01] Speaker 11: lesson ten millimeter folding car being with a good.
[24:05] Speaker 6: Optee.
[24:05] Speaker 11: Corrent my concerns, ARE i don't know if you could
[24:09] Speaker 11: do a backup site system on. It And i'm kind
[24:12] Speaker 11: of concerned about distance because in a, truck And i'm
[24:16] Speaker 11: thinking sometimes you might need something more than one hundred,
[24:18] Speaker 11: yards AND i think a one hundred yards is stretching
[24:20] Speaker 11: it for a ten. Millimeter just gotta get your thoughts on.
[24:24] Speaker 4: That, WELL i would say one hundred yards is very,
[24:27] Speaker 4: doable and it hits. Hard on one hundred, yards it's
[24:30] Speaker 4: easy to hit targets one hundred. YARDS i would call
[24:34] Speaker 4: a ten milimeters one hundred and twenty five to one
[24:35] Speaker 4: hundred and fifty yard. Rig BUT i hear what you're,
[24:38] Speaker 4: Saying it's, like, okay if and it depends that you're you,
[24:42] Speaker 4: know you're In New mexico right, right so you could
[24:47] Speaker 4: be in a situation where for whatever, reason you need
[24:50] Speaker 4: a two or three hundred yard. Shot could be a,
[24:52] Speaker 4: cayo could be. Whatever you, know it's not necessarily a
[24:55] Speaker 4: two leged defensive, deal at which point you're way beyond
[24:59] Speaker 4: ten milimeter, rain and so you may want to be
[25:02] Speaker 4: thinking about it two, two three or five five.
[25:03] Speaker 11: Six, WELL i bought one of THOSE ar fifteen pistols
[25:09] Speaker 11: in five five. Six i've been maying with, it BUT
[25:12] Speaker 11: i don't. Know there's just SOMETHING i don't like about.
[25:14] Speaker 11: IT i can't really describe, it but it just maybe
[25:17] Speaker 11: it's the thought of maybe not being able to mount,
[25:19] Speaker 11: it like you what a normal ryeh for a What i'm.
[25:21] Speaker 6: Just not real crazy about.
[25:23] Speaker 4: It, well obviously you can cheek the little stocklet on,
[25:28] Speaker 4: there but it's not a rifle that's not as comfortable to.
[25:30] Speaker 4: Shoot AND i know what you're talking about when you, Think,
[25:33] Speaker 4: Okay i've got this thing and it fills a, NICHE
[25:37] Speaker 4: i think back to your original. Comment probably what you
[25:43] Speaker 4: probably are looking at is getting a five five SIX.
[25:45] Speaker 6: Sbr that's kind of What i've been, thinking especially since
[25:51] Speaker 6: that might be easier to do.
[25:52] Speaker 4: Now it might, be but you, know don't be in
[25:55] Speaker 4: a hurry because the while the suppressors we kind of
[25:58] Speaker 4: understand what's going on, there do not absolutely do not
[26:02] Speaker 4: understand what's going on with SBRs. Yet and so if
[26:04] Speaker 4: you're going to get AN, sbr if it were, ME
[26:07] Speaker 4: i would just go ahead and do The form four on.
[26:09] Speaker 4: It there's no tax on. IT i would run the
[26:12] Speaker 4: registration on.
[26:12] Speaker 6: It get it.
[26:13] Speaker 4: Done it's just a done. Deal it's gonna take a
[26:14] Speaker 4: week to get your, paperwork big. Deal that's WHAT i
[26:18] Speaker 4: would do right. Now and now there's no question about.
[26:21] Speaker 4: Legality know you've got it taken care.
[26:23] Speaker 11: Of, okay IF i went route that, route would you
[26:27] Speaker 11: think a three hundred blackout would be better than a
[26:29] Speaker 11: five five six or, well if you are a, choice.
[26:34] Speaker 4: If you're really interested in making it, quiet three hundred,
[26:37] Speaker 4: blackout but again you're down to one, hundred one hundred
[26:40] Speaker 4: and fifty, yards and if you think you might need
[26:43] Speaker 4: to shoot farther than, that the five five six is
[26:45] Speaker 4: simply gonna be a better.
[26:46] Speaker 6: Choice, Okay all, Right well you're slipping a little bit
[26:50] Speaker 6: because you didn't tell me to go buy both of.
[26:52] Speaker 4: THEM i. DIDN'T i didn't THINK i had. TO i,
[26:56] Speaker 4: mean you already know.
[26:57] Speaker 6: Right, yeah pretty much the.
[27:01] Speaker 4: Enabler well tell you, what when you figure it out
[27:05] Speaker 4: and get, something to call us back and let us
[27:06] Speaker 4: know what she ended up.
[27:07] Speaker 11: With, okay all, right we'll do and thanks for your.
[27:10] Speaker 4: Help, Thanks, john appreciate. That let's drop down and talk
[27:13] Speaker 4: To howard on. One he's In Oklahoma. City, Hey, howard
[27:16] Speaker 4: you're on Gun.
[27:17] Speaker 13: Talk Hey, TOM i have was going a way in
[27:21] Speaker 13: on The bodyguard two point.
[27:23] Speaker 6: Zero.
[27:24] Speaker 13: OKAY i started out about twelve years. AGO i bought
[27:26] Speaker 13: the one of the first, shields and then graduated up
[27:30] Speaker 13: when they came out with The Shield plus AND i
[27:32] Speaker 13: got The Performance center. Model couldn't believe how much better
[27:37] Speaker 13: that thing felt and the trigger was and the sights and.
[27:40] Speaker 13: Everything then a couple of months, ago my son got
[27:44] Speaker 13: one of The bodyguard two point. Ohs i'd had A
[27:47] Speaker 13: block forty two THAT i carried as a pocket gun
[27:49] Speaker 13: for a, while but he got The bodyguard two to
[27:53] Speaker 13: oh and we were out of the range and he
[27:55] Speaker 13: had me shoot, it AND i loved the feel of.
[27:58] Speaker 13: IT i just didn't like the trigger or the sights
[28:01] Speaker 13: on the regular. Model and then he, said, well you
[28:03] Speaker 13: want to look at the carry. Comb SO i looked
[28:06] Speaker 13: at the carry Comp and that's What i've got on
[28:08] Speaker 13: my side right now is the carry com. Version the
[28:12] Speaker 13: trigger is great on, that the sites are. Great it
[28:15] Speaker 13: shoots like a. Dream and this ONE i can actually
[28:19] Speaker 13: CARRY iWB without being uncomfortable my. Shield PLUS i carry
[28:25] Speaker 13: it three o'clock like you.
[28:26] Speaker 4: Do so what isn't this different about this that lets
[28:30] Speaker 4: you carry it inside the waistban and be.
[28:33] Speaker 13: Comfortable, well it's just so much. Thinner it's a little
[28:37] Speaker 13: smaller and doesn't cut into my. Side AND i had
[28:42] Speaker 13: one of the original bodyguards AND i hated that. Thing
[28:45] Speaker 13: that thing was so hard to, shoot that twenty pound
[28:48] Speaker 13: double action.
[28:49] Speaker 4: Trigger it was talk About gen. One it was not.
[28:52] Speaker 4: Great it really. Wasn't.
[28:54] Speaker 13: NO i mean it served the. Purpose if you were
[28:57] Speaker 13: in a you, know hand to hand close up, fight.
[29:00] Speaker 10: It would have.
[29:01] Speaker 13: Worked but as so far as the, range going to
[29:04] Speaker 13: practice with four rags AND i was.
[29:07] Speaker 4: Done, yeah it was a good. Off it was one
[29:09] Speaker 4: of those get off me. Guns BUT i think the
[29:12] Speaker 4: two Point oho is like a different. Gun it's not
[29:14] Speaker 4: almost no connection at all to the first. Version The
[29:17] Speaker 4: bodyguard two Point oho is really a sweet. Gun i'm
[29:20] Speaker 4: kind of like. YOU i have one of those block
[29:22] Speaker 4: forty two's the three. EIGHTY i took it out the other.
[29:25] Speaker 4: DAY i was look at it and, going you, Know
[29:27] Speaker 4: i've got the. Bodyguard, NOW i just need to sell
[29:29] Speaker 4: this a game thing Because i'm never going to carry
[29:31] Speaker 4: the forty.
[29:31] Speaker 13: Two well that's WHAT i. DID i sold my forty
[29:34] Speaker 13: two WHEN i bought this bodyguard. Too, oh OR i
[29:38] Speaker 13: saw you forty. Two but the carry com version to,
[29:43] Speaker 13: me is so much nicer than just the plane. Model
[29:46] Speaker 13: and it's a little more, expensive but like you, say over,
[29:49] Speaker 13: time it's not that much more.
[29:51] Speaker 4: Expensive, WELL i mean how much more. Expensive we're talking
[29:54] Speaker 4: seventy five.
[29:55] Speaker 13: Bucks seventy five maybe one, HUNDRED i don't. KNOW i
[29:58] Speaker 13: was actually myself found this for me At. Cabela's it
[30:02] Speaker 13: was a used, one SO i got a really good
[30:04] Speaker 13: deal on.
[30:05] Speaker 4: It oh, nice very. Good, well look that is a
[30:08] Speaker 4: great rangeer for. IT i appreciate. That and, YEAH i
[30:10] Speaker 4: tell you that that bodyguard two point zero people are
[30:13] Speaker 4: really talking about. It it's an impressive. Pistol all, Right
[30:17] Speaker 4: why we got him on the. Phone let's don't let him.
[30:19] Speaker 4: Go let's Get paul on line four out Of West. Virginia, Hello,
[30:22] Speaker 4: paul you're, up, Sir.
[30:24] Speaker 14: Yes, SIR i love the.
[30:25] Speaker 11: Show was a pleasure to be.
[30:26] Speaker 15: Connected thank.
[30:27] Speaker 6: You.
[30:29] Speaker 15: YEP i heard a lot of pocket carry stuff and
[30:33] Speaker 15: car being, stuff AND i just wanted to praise one
[30:35] Speaker 15: certain car.
[30:36] Speaker 11: Being that is one of my.
[30:37] Speaker 6: Favorites, okay.
[30:40] Speaker 10: C x Four Storm.
[30:41] Speaker 6: Barretta in nine.
[30:42] Speaker 4: Millimeter oh it's from that new gun, Company.
[30:46] Speaker 10: Verretta No, barretta the old gun.
[30:50] Speaker 13: Company only years old, Now.
[30:58] Speaker 4: So why do you like?
[30:58] Speaker 15: THAT i got The vortex red dot on, it and
[31:02] Speaker 15: we're talking about car. BEANS i think the bolt group
[31:05] Speaker 15: is just. Indestructible it's really easy to take apart to.
[31:08] Speaker 15: Clean got The vortex red dot with a little battery
[31:12] Speaker 15: that gives me fifty thousand hours And i'm accurate with
[31:14] Speaker 15: it at one hundred and fifty yards And i've had an.
[31:16] Speaker 15: Issue and the best part about it to me is
[31:18] Speaker 15: that it has interchangeable, magazines whether the thirty two round
[31:22] Speaker 15: sixteen standard with The BARRETTA m nine so the, original
[31:27] Speaker 15: the Military bretta full.
[31:29] Speaker 4: Side, okay so there are a lot of love magazines.
[31:32] Speaker 15: Everywhere, Yeah so IF i HAVE i got a vest
[31:36] Speaker 15: at home that's not, bulletproof that's just a pockethole of
[31:40] Speaker 15: vest that holds about fifteen. Magazines so IF i have
[31:44] Speaker 15: The burretta and the drop Leg holster AND i have
[31:47] Speaker 15: to watch the, NEIGHBORHOOD i got The Cxpoor storm on a,
[31:50] Speaker 15: sling and all of those magazines are.
[31:53] Speaker 4: Interchangeable, well let me just, say if you got all
[31:57] Speaker 4: those magazines, on whatever you, do do not fall in the,
[32:00] Speaker 4: lake right.
[32:05] Speaker 15: Right unless they ban our, guns then it's gonna be
[32:08] Speaker 15: all lost in a boating. Accident you know, What i'm.
[32:12] Speaker 4: Never gonna do the whole loss a voting. ACCIDENT i
[32:15] Speaker 4: am never gonna Say i've lost my. Guns Just i'm
[32:19] Speaker 4: not gonna go. There i'm not gonna pretend AND i
[32:21] Speaker 4: understand what you. SAY i get. It, well we say
[32:23] Speaker 4: that we weak not and all, that BUT i think
[32:26] Speaker 4: we've got to stand up and, say, yeah, no this
[32:28] Speaker 4: is gonna be real. Simple. People you're not gonna take,
[32:30] Speaker 4: them And i'm not gonna let you take. Them people,
[32:33] Speaker 4: go what are you gonna? Do i'm not going to
[32:35] Speaker 4: let them take. Them you do understand What i'm saying? Here,
[32:39] Speaker 4: okay he appreciate the, call. Sir, wow fifteen rounds or
[32:43] Speaker 4: fifteen magazines in a, Vest holy, cow let's grab jam
[32:50] Speaker 4: out Of, Bedford. OREGON i got THIS a QUESTIONS i cannot,
[32:52] Speaker 4: answer but we'll take it. Anyway what the, heck, Hey,
[32:56] Speaker 4: jo how good what you got?
[33:01] Speaker 6: THERE i have a question for. YOU i bought A
[33:05] Speaker 6: dell CON ar.
[33:07] Speaker 14: Fifteen it's probably been ten years. NOW i never had
[33:12] Speaker 14: a problem with, it always shot. Gray as a matter of,
[33:15] Speaker 14: FACT i still have, it AND i don't. Know the
[33:18] Speaker 14: last year or, SO i heard that they went out of,
[33:20] Speaker 14: business AND i was just curious if he knew.
[33:23] Speaker 4: WHAT i don't know, specifically but there's really only one
[33:29] Speaker 4: reason that a gun company goes out of, business and
[33:32] Speaker 4: that is that they're losing. Money THAT r fifteen market
[33:38] Speaker 4: is so crowded and so, competitive it's just, brutal and
[33:44] Speaker 4: if you're making guns towards the bottom end of the price,
[33:49] Speaker 4: range you're just getting beat up by everybody From Palmata
[33:53] Speaker 4: State armory all the way across the. BOARD i, mean
[33:55] Speaker 4: there are four and five dollars ars left and. Right
[33:59] Speaker 4: it's just so and, frankly starting about ten years, ago
[34:03] Speaker 4: we had too MANY ar. COMPANIES i know that's maybe
[34:07] Speaker 4: sacrilege to, say but there were too many companies MAKING
[34:11] Speaker 4: ar fifteens for the market to support. Them and so
[34:14] Speaker 4: there's been consolidation and some of these companies have been
[34:17] Speaker 4: bought by other, companies you, know but some of them
[34:20] Speaker 4: just flat gone out of business and we knew they
[34:22] Speaker 4: Were and some of the big ones are bigger ones
[34:25] Speaker 4: have gone out of BUSINESS ar fifteen. Companies so we
[34:28] Speaker 4: still have a lot of companies making good, ars AND
[34:31] Speaker 4: i think the market is more stabilized a bit. Now but,
[34:35] Speaker 4: yeah there were way too many people or companies making,
[34:39] Speaker 4: ars and we knew it was going to. Come we
[34:41] Speaker 4: knew that the marketers would not sustain. Them so that
[34:45] Speaker 4: was just one of those that went by the. BOARDS
[34:47] Speaker 4: i appreciate the cost, There thank you for asking about.
[34:49] Speaker 4: That we now have well Like ruger was Bought ANDERSON
[34:54] Speaker 4: i think it, was and now they have The harrier
[35:00] Speaker 4: are which is very nice and all that production the
[35:05] Speaker 4: UH i won't name some. Names there are some that
[35:08] Speaker 4: are on the borderline of going out of, business and
[35:11] Speaker 4: they're going to go out of. Business there's just not.
[35:14] Speaker 4: Enough there's not enough people to buy. Ars there's not
[35:18] Speaker 4: enough people scared and buying ars left and, right like
[35:22] Speaker 4: happened ten years. Ago and that's. Okay we're in A
[35:28] Speaker 4: we're a great. PLACE i, mean, seriously we have never
[35:34] Speaker 4: ever had even a year like the year we're having
[35:38] Speaker 4: right now when it comes To Second amendment wins From
[35:42] Speaker 4: Donald trump to The department Of, justice to THE, atf
[35:45] Speaker 4: across the. Board and, no they're not, perfect none of.
[35:49] Speaker 4: Them but can you imagine the difference If Kamala harris
[35:54] Speaker 4: had won the difference in The Supreme, court the difference
[35:58] Speaker 4: in THE doj and THE. Atf they would be shutting
[36:02] Speaker 4: down gun stores left and right like they were doing.
[36:05] Speaker 4: Before they would be sending agents out to, say find
[36:08] Speaker 4: ways to close gun, stores which is what they were.
[36:11] Speaker 4: Told they developed what they call zero tolerance. Policies you
[36:16] Speaker 4: make a mistake on your, paperwork we're going to work
[36:18] Speaker 4: to shut you. Down the goal was to get rid
[36:21] Speaker 4: of as many gun stores as. Possible the goal was
[36:24] Speaker 4: to put gun owners in. Jail it's a whole different.
[36:28] Speaker 4: Thing now we're winning in the. Courts we're beating back
[36:33] Speaker 4: state gun laws because we're suing the devil out of.
[36:35] Speaker 4: Them right, now we're winning at The tart Of, justice
[36:41] Speaker 4: we're winning AT. Atf we're just. Winning it's crazy and
[36:49] Speaker 4: it will. Continue ALTHOUGH i frankly think it's going to
[36:53] Speaker 4: slow down a bit, if as is, Anticipated republicans lose
[37:00] Speaker 4: control Of congress with the midterm. ELECTIONS i don't know,
[37:06] Speaker 4: how because there are a lot of people who are
[37:08] Speaker 4: smarter than me working on. IT i don't know how
[37:12] Speaker 4: to motivate the base to get out to. Vote If
[37:18] Speaker 4: Donald trump's not, running a lot of people are to, go, yeah, okay,
[37:21] Speaker 4: fine don't worry about. It it's nothing to get excited,
[37:23] Speaker 4: about except that the other side is really the gun banning.
[37:26] Speaker 4: Side WHEN i say the other, side i'm talking about
[37:29] Speaker 4: the gun, banners which is The. DEMOCRATS i, mean there's
[37:33] Speaker 4: no point in pretending that's not what it. Is The
[37:37] Speaker 4: Democrat party wants to ban. Guns not All democrats, do
[37:44] Speaker 4: but The Democrat party leaders, do and anybody who's elected
[37:49] Speaker 4: on The democrat side must absolutely must follow their. Lead
[37:55] Speaker 4: they're required to or they'll be cut off at the.
[37:58] Speaker 4: Knees so when you elect A, democrat you're electing gun.
[38:04] Speaker 4: Banners and the gun ban lobby is very well. FUNDED i,
[38:08] Speaker 4: Mean Michael, bloomberg one, guy he's worth more than one
[38:12] Speaker 4: hundred billion. Dollars he doesn't mind throwing lots of millions
[38:18] Speaker 4: of dollars into the gun ban. INDUSTRY i mean he
[38:21] Speaker 4: created the gun band industry, actually so we're up against
[38:26] Speaker 4: it this, year AND, i AS i, SAID i honestly
[38:29] Speaker 4: don't know how to motivate. PEOPLE i could, say, hey
[38:31] Speaker 4: this is, important all the rest of, it and everybody, goes, yeah, okay,
[38:34] Speaker 4: fine sleeping. Okay but if we lose control Of, congress
[38:42] Speaker 4: and it's quite likely we, will that's going to be a,
[38:46] Speaker 4: terrible terrible couple of. Years that doesn't mean THAT atf,
[38:50] Speaker 4: doesn't you, know keep making some good, progress AND dj
[38:53] Speaker 4: doesn't make, progress but there's gonna be a lot of
