[0:43] Speaker 3: part of it, Paul, Tom talk Gun. Now here's Tom.
[0:51] Speaker 4: The Second Amendment will never be treated as a second
[0:55] Speaker 4: class right in the Trump administration.
[0:58] Speaker 5: The Second Amendment is.
[0:59] Speaker 6: Not in a.
[1:01] Speaker 7: Wow wow wow. What a statement coming from the acting
[1:07] Speaker 7: Attorney General of the United States, that's the head of
[1:10] Speaker 7: the DOJ. Hey, I'm Tom greshaman this is gun talking.

[1:24] Speaker 7: it used to be over on X I am at
[1:26] Speaker 7: gun talking. Of course, you can always jump over to
[1:28] Speaker 7: gun talk dot com. This week, when he was announcing
[1:32] Speaker 7: that we have a new director of the ATF and
[1:36] Speaker 7: also a thirty four point plan of reforms for gun
[1:44] Speaker 7: control laws in the US, there was a lot going on,
[1:48] Speaker 7: and he basically spelled out who our new director was
[1:52] Speaker 7: of ATF and also what's going on. There's a lot
[1:55] Speaker 7: for us to cover. I want to make sure we
[1:57] Speaker 7: get this. But this is Todd Blant, the acting US
[2:02] Speaker 7: Attorney General. And then we'll have the new director of
[2:06] Speaker 7: the ATF speaking, and his name is Rob Zakata. All right,
[2:10] Speaker 7: here is Acting Attorneys General Todd Blench.
[2:15] Speaker 4: A little bit about Rob in case you don't know.
[2:19] Speaker 4: He began his law enforcement career with the New York
[2:21] Speaker 4: City Police Department in nineteen ninety two, starting in the
[2:25] Speaker 4: Housing Bureau in Harlem, he moved around. He was promoted
[2:30] Speaker 4: to detective and the Organized Crime Bureau's Gang Division. Later
[2:33] Speaker 4: continued his public service with the City of Plantation Police
[2:36] Speaker 4: Department in Broward County, Florida, serving in patrol operations on
[2:41] Speaker 4: the SWAT team, and then in two thousand and five,
[2:44] Speaker 4: so over twenty years ago, Rob joined ATF as a
[2:47] Speaker 4: special agent in the Baltimore Field Division, where he was
[2:50] Speaker 4: assigned to the Regional Area Gang Enforcement Task Force combating
[2:54] Speaker 4: transnational organized crime.
[2:57] Speaker 5: He later served as a.
[2:58] Speaker 4: Special agent in the Tampa Field Divis, investigating violent crimes
[3:02] Speaker 4: involving firearms and explosives, and continuing working his way up
[3:06] Speaker 4: through the ATF ranks over the two decades. Eventually he
[3:10] Speaker 4: was promoted to SES at ATF and he was a
[3:13] Speaker 4: special Asent in charge of the Baltimore Field Division, where
[3:17] Speaker 4: he oversaw operations across Maryland and Delaware. Subsequently, he was
[3:22] Speaker 4: a Specializing in Charge in Miami where he oversaw twenty
[3:25] Speaker 4: one offices throughout Southern Florida, Puerto Rico, and the US
[3:30] Speaker 4: Virgin Islands. After that, Rob returned to ATF headquarters as
[3:34] Speaker 4: a Deputy Assistant Director for Field Operations. He was then
[3:38] Speaker 4: promoted again to Executive Assistant Director of Operations and then
[3:43] Speaker 4: just over one year ago today, on April tenth, twenty
[3:46] Speaker 4: twenty five, Rob was named the Deputy Director of ATF,
[3:50] Speaker 4: a role that he has served in through today and
[3:53] Speaker 4: right now he's in that middle spot where he is
[3:56] Speaker 4: the confirmed director of ATF but commissioned signed, so I
[4:02] Speaker 4: think still technically deputy director, but we're fine. So look
[4:06] Speaker 4: so from patrol officer to federal agent to specializing in charge,
[4:11] Speaker 4: Rob has committed his entire life to serving the public
[4:15] Speaker 4: and protecting communities nationwide. It is fitting in my mind
[4:22] Speaker 4: that the first action Rob is going to take today
[4:26] Speaker 4: in his new role is to sign the most comprehensive
[4:30] Speaker 4: regulatory reform package in the history of ATF. I want
[4:35] Speaker 4: to thank President Donald Trump for putting us on this
[4:38] Speaker 4: path on January twentieth of last year. His leadership made
[4:42] Speaker 4: this moment possible. His executive order directing a full review
[4:47] Speaker 4: of ATF regulations set the tone clear, direct and focused
[4:53] Speaker 4: on the Constitution. And I want to thank him for
[4:55] Speaker 4: his leadership.
[4:57] Speaker 5: It's been over a year, but we're ready to get
[4:59] Speaker 5: a roll.
[5:01] Speaker 7: Todd Blanche then went on to explain the other part. Yes,
[5:05] Speaker 7: they were introducing the new head of the ATF, and
[5:08] Speaker 7: Blanche was certainly excited about that. But then he went
[5:11] Speaker 7: on to start to explain what is being done and
[5:15] Speaker 7: what they have been working on. And I know, look,
[5:17] Speaker 7: a lot of people have been saying, why haven't we
[5:19] Speaker 7: seen more improvement? Why haven't we seen this? Why hasn't
[5:22] Speaker 7: the Department Justice done that? It takes a while, and
[5:26] Speaker 7: there's a lot to be done. They got a thirty
[5:28] Speaker 7: four point plan. There's more to come, and he started
[5:31] Speaker 7: to spell out a little bit of it here.
[5:33] Speaker 4: We're repealing rules that went beyond what the law allows.
[5:37] Speaker 4: We are cutting unnecessary red tape, and we are replacing
[5:41] Speaker 4: confusion with clear, straightforward language, so that everyday Americans don't
[5:46] Speaker 4: need a law degree just to understand their rights.
[5:50] Speaker 5: And this did not happen in a vacuum.
[5:53] Speaker 4: We listened to industry leaders, many of whom are in
[5:56] Speaker 4: this room behind me, to legal experts, in most importantly,
[6:00] Speaker 4: to law abiding gun owners across this country, people who
[6:04] Speaker 4: follow the rules but have been forced to navigate a
[6:07] Speaker 4: system that often didn't make sense. The package that we're
[6:12] Speaker 4: putting forward today and over the coming days reflects all
[6:15] Speaker 4: of those voices. It includes thirty four proposed rules, more
[6:20] Speaker 4: than ATF has issued in the last fifteen years combined.
[6:25] Speaker 4: It reflects months of work since the beginning of this administration.
[6:29] Speaker 4: And I want to be candid right now about why
[6:31] Speaker 4: this is necessary. For too long, regulations were written without
[6:35] Speaker 4: any real understanding of how firearms businesses operate, how lawful
[6:39] Speaker 4: gun owners actually handle their firearms are what truly improves
[6:44] Speaker 4: public safety. Nothing we are doing today weekends law enforcement.
[6:50] Speaker 4: We are not taking tools away from the people, the
[6:54] Speaker 4: men and women.
[6:54] Speaker 5: Who go after violent criminals.
[6:56] Speaker 4: This administration, as it always has, remains fully committed to
[7:01] Speaker 4: targeting those who break the law, gang members, repeat offenders, traffickers,
[7:05] Speaker 4: and cartels. If anything, what we're doing today will actually
[7:10] Speaker 4: help law enforcement because clearer rules mean better compliance, and
[7:14] Speaker 4: better compliance means better enforcement. At the same time, it
[7:17] Speaker 4: means fewer traps for law abiding citizens who are just
[7:20] Speaker 4: trying to do.
[7:21] Speaker 5: The right thing.
[7:22] Speaker 7: And here's where he got into the meat of it
[7:25] Speaker 7: and some of the things that we're going to benefit from.
[7:29] Speaker 4: It reduces unnecessary burdens on lawful gun owners and licensed businesses.
[7:33] Speaker 4: It eliminates ambiguity, and it helps prevent the kind of
[7:36] Speaker 4: confusion that in the past and not that distant past,
[7:40] Speaker 4: led to inconsistent and sometimes unfair enforcement.
[7:44] Speaker 7: For me, at least, listening to this presentation, it became
[7:49] Speaker 7: very clear that the people working on this understood what
[7:52] Speaker 7: the Biden administration had done to us and had done
[7:56] Speaker 7: to the Second Amendment. And how they'd been trying to
[7:59] Speaker 7: gut it and now these folks are trying to claw
[8:02] Speaker 7: that back. They got a lot of things to do,
[8:04] Speaker 7: but I really liked the shopping list of things that
[8:07] Speaker 7: they're already working on.
[8:09] Speaker 5: I'm going to let.
[8:10] Speaker 4: Rob lay off the specifics of what we're doing in
[8:12] Speaker 4: a moment, but let me reiterate that the Second Amendment
[8:15] Speaker 4: will never be treated as a second class right in
[8:18] Speaker 4: the Trump administration. President Trump has been clear on this
[8:22] Speaker 4: from day one. The Second Amendment is not negotiable. It
[8:26] Speaker 4: is part of the foundation of this great country. I
[8:29] Speaker 4: want to make sure folks understand that the work that
[8:31] Speaker 4: we're talking about today is not finished today. We're continuing
[8:37] Speaker 4: to review every regulation, especially those from the previous administration,
[8:42] Speaker 4: and we'll keep putting forward additional proposals as that review continues.
[8:47] Speaker 4: For example, ATF is studying right now to determine which
[8:51] Speaker 4: rifles are generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes.
[8:56] Speaker 5: That's going to be an ongoing effort.
[8:58] Speaker 4: Over the next several months, and we're going to see
[9:01] Speaker 4: that through.
[9:02] Speaker 7: You can tell just how excited and proud the Acting
[9:06] Speaker 7: ag was when he was introducing the new head of
[9:09] Speaker 7: the ATF.
[9:11] Speaker 4: ROB is exactly the right person to lead ATF at
[9:15] Speaker 4: this moment.
[9:16] Speaker 5: First, he owns more guns.
[9:18] Speaker 4: Than I think pretty much anyone I know. He's one
[9:22] Speaker 4: heck of a shot. I've seen him at the range.
[9:25] Speaker 4: I've shot with him at the range. It's a lot
[9:27] Speaker 4: better than me. But more importantly, he understands this work
[9:32] Speaker 4: inside and out. He understands the mission, and he understands
[9:35] Speaker 4: the importance of getting it right.
[9:39] Speaker 5: So welcome please to the microphone.
[9:41] Speaker 4: The newly confirmed director of the ATF ROB sicatam.
[9:50] Speaker 7: All right. When we come back, we're going to have
[9:52] Speaker 7: some of the comments from the new head of the ATF.

[12:37] Speaker 7: about today, and we certainly will get to your range reports,
[12:40] Speaker 7: and you can give me a call at eight sixty six.
[12:42] Speaker 7: Talk gun. We'll get you in here. But last Wednesday,
[12:46] Speaker 7: we had a phenomenal news conference from the Department of
[12:51] Speaker 7: Justice where they announced the head of the ATF. The
[12:54] Speaker 7: new director was just confirmed by the Senate literally minutes
[12:57] Speaker 7: before this press conference, and this new director, Robskada, he spoke,
[13:03] Speaker 7: he is a gun owner. He is a second amendmic guy.
[13:06] Speaker 7: It sure looks like. And it became very clear, very
[13:09] Speaker 7: quickly that they had been working on a lot of things.
[13:12] Speaker 7: They had dug into what the Biden administration had done.
[13:15] Speaker 7: They had looked at a lot of the old regulations.
[13:17] Speaker 7: There were burdens not only on gun owners, but on
[13:20] Speaker 7: gun stores, gun dealers, and on manufacturers. He addresses a
[13:24] Speaker 7: lot of that. So we're going to jump right to it.
[13:27] Speaker 7: Here's the new director of the ATF.
[13:31] Speaker 13: Today's a great day for ATF DOJ and a great
[13:34] Speaker 13: day for lawful gun owners and federal firearms licensees, and
[13:37] Speaker 13: a great day for all of America. I've been with
[13:39] Speaker 13: ATF for over twenty years, have never seen a regulatory
[13:43] Speaker 13: package of this skill. In fact, we were going to
[13:46] Speaker 13: be signing just about as many rules as have been
[13:48] Speaker 13: proposed during my entire twenty years with this agency. It
[13:51] Speaker 13: was an immense amount of work, and I believe it's
[13:53] Speaker 13: moving the agency in the right direction.
[13:56] Speaker 5: How do we get here?
[13:57] Speaker 13: At the outset of this administration, we committed to a
[13:59] Speaker 13: new era of reform grounded in transparency, accountability, and partnership.
[14:05] Speaker 13: What you see today is that promise being kept. Over
[14:09] Speaker 13: the last year, we undertook a serious, sustained review looking
[14:13] Speaker 13: at court decisions, licensed feedback, statutory text. We reviewed our
[14:18] Speaker 13: forms and and our requirements. In my time with ATF,
[14:22] Speaker 13: I have seen how regulation creep can come in like
[14:25] Speaker 13: a fog, creating vague and shifting tests and subjective interpretations
[14:29] Speaker 13: that lead to inconsistent enforcement practices and ultimately in erosion
[14:34] Speaker 13: of public trust. Today we are clearing the fog, restoring clarity, consistency,
[14:39] Speaker 13: and predictability for all Americans.
[14:42] Speaker 7: Then he got to the heart of the matter, what
[14:45] Speaker 7: we're actually going to get out of this package.
[14:48] Speaker 13: In today's package, you will see thirty four clear common
[14:51] Speaker 13: sense regulations that rescind, modernize, or clarify language within the
[14:55] Speaker 13: National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act, and more, proposing
[15:00] Speaker 13: to remove unnecessary hurdles that were standing in the way
[15:03] Speaker 13: of law abiding citizens and businesses. We are proposing to
[15:07] Speaker 13: restore clarity and predictability in our standards.
[15:11] Speaker 5: We are beginning the response.
[15:12] Speaker 13: We are beginning responsive to court orders that need that
[15:15] Speaker 13: our constituents needed for a clear, decisive instruction, so action
[15:20] Speaker 13: can be taken to rescind what didn't work. Here are
[15:23] Speaker 13: some key highlights the Stabilizing Brace rule, which came into
[15:26] Speaker 13: effect in twenty twenty three. That rule, formally we are
[15:30] Speaker 13: proposing to rescind. There are courts in multiple jurisdictions which
[15:35] Speaker 13: we found violated the APA. They were enjoined or vacated
[15:39] Speaker 13: across the country. We believe that the common sense approach
[15:42] Speaker 13: to align regulatory texts with those judicial determinations, rather than
[15:46] Speaker 13: keeping them on the books as regulations would have already
[15:50] Speaker 13: been thrown out.
[15:52] Speaker 5: Engage in the Business, which came.
[15:53] Speaker 13: Into effect in twenty twenty four, we are also formally
[15:56] Speaker 13: proposing to rescind the Engage in the Business rule. Believe
[16:00] Speaker 13: that the responsible regulatory governance requires adjusting the course when
[16:04] Speaker 13: evidence shows a rule has not worked as intended. The
[16:08] Speaker 13: ATF has found the changes to the definition of who
[16:12] Speaker 13: was engaged in business have not produced the outcomes needed
[16:15] Speaker 13: to justify keeping the rule. As you'll see, today's proposed
[16:19] Speaker 13: rule retains definition of the engage in the business as
[16:22] Speaker 13: specifically revised and codified by Congress.
[16:25] Speaker 5: No more, no less.
[16:27] Speaker 7: Hey what a concept. Just have the LASS say exactly
[16:30] Speaker 7: what Congress passed, not what somebody at ATF thinks they
[16:35] Speaker 7: should have passed.
[16:36] Speaker 13: We are also formally proposing modernizing our forms. One proposal
[16:41] Speaker 13: is to update the form forty four to seventy three
[16:43] Speaker 13: to ensure it keepspace with modern business practices like authorizing
[16:47] Speaker 13: the use of electronic forms, functions like auto population of fields,
[16:52] Speaker 13: and allowing people to attach digital files as attachments. We
[16:56] Speaker 13: also make minor technical revisions to shorten the form, thereby
[17:00] Speaker 13: reducing the administrative burden on both.
[17:01] Speaker 5: The FFLs and transferrees.
[17:04] Speaker 13: Another proposal related to the forms is to allow FFLs
[17:07] Speaker 13: to generate and store its records, including its A and
[17:11] Speaker 13: D books records, and all forty four seventy three is
[17:14] Speaker 13: using an electronic record keeping system. This codeifis a practice
[17:18] Speaker 13: that the industry has used through a variance for years
[17:22] Speaker 13: and has been demonstrated to work very well. We also
[17:26] Speaker 13: believe it supports law enforcement by allowing FFLs to more
[17:29] Speaker 13: easily respond to legitimate law enforcement trace.
[17:31] Speaker 5: Requests when asked.
[17:33] Speaker 13: In our next steps, there are many more proposals and
[17:36] Speaker 13: the package that will follow this rule package. Some of
[17:40] Speaker 13: them are simple anchorage clarifications, others are much more comprehensive. Finally,
[17:45] Speaker 13: as Acting Attorney General, Blant shared, our.
[17:47] Speaker 5: Work is not done.
[17:49] Speaker 13: While we are proud of our work that has been
[17:51] Speaker 13: done in getting us to this point, this isn't over.
[17:54] Speaker 13: The next step will be an open comment period where
[17:57] Speaker 13: we invite input on our proposed changes, our industry stakeholders,
[18:01] Speaker 13: law enforcement agencies, advocacy groups, and the general public. After
[18:06] Speaker 13: today's event, please visit our website atf dot gov to
[18:10] Speaker 13: find out more about the proposals we are signing and
[18:12] Speaker 13: sending over to the Federal Register to be published.
[18:15] Speaker 11: There, you will.
[18:16] Speaker 13: Find information on how to submit comments via Regulations dot
[18:19] Speaker 13: gov and this Acting Attorney General Blanch share. Today is
[18:23] Speaker 13: just the first package of proposals to be released. We
[18:25] Speaker 13: will work closely with the Department of Justice to continue
[18:28] Speaker 13: to review our rules and ensure they are modernized, to
[18:31] Speaker 13: reflect the current practices, to adhere to court rulings, and
[18:34] Speaker 13: ultimately to reduce unnecessary burdens and lawmighting. I'm sorry, law
[18:38] Speaker 13: abiding citizens and businesses.
[18:41] Speaker 7: Hoy coal Man, that was impressive. That was the new
[18:46] Speaker 7: head of ath AT. The new Director of ath I
[18:48] Speaker 7: just confirmed by the Senate just minutes before the press
[18:51] Speaker 7: conference last Wednesday, they were announcing a thirty four point
[18:57] Speaker 7: plan or package of rules that they were changing, rules
[19:03] Speaker 7: being the same as laws. And that's one of the
[19:05] Speaker 7: things that happens over at ATF. They issue a rule
[19:07] Speaker 7: that becomes law. You can be sent to prison for
[19:09] Speaker 7: violating a rule that Congress never passed. And they're looking
[19:12] Speaker 7: at and say, well, you know, Congress never actually said
[19:14] Speaker 7: that we need to get rid of that. Let's just
[19:16] Speaker 7: go back to what Congress passed instead of what some
[19:19] Speaker 7: of the people at ATF have decided. They should have said. Well,
[19:22] Speaker 7: they should have said this about bump stocks, they should
[19:26] Speaker 7: have said this about braces, but they never did. So
[19:29] Speaker 7: you don't get to make the laws. And one of
[19:32] Speaker 7: the things you can't see with the audio, obviously is
[19:37] Speaker 7: during this price conference, unlike when Biden would do something
[19:41] Speaker 7: like this and had all of the members of the
[19:45] Speaker 7: gun band lobby back there, every town Mothers again, so
[19:48] Speaker 7: on and on and on. This time they had representatives
[19:54] Speaker 7: from the major gun rights organizations, the NRA, ns SF,
[20:00] Speaker 7: Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Rights Policy Conference, on a GOA.
[20:07] Speaker 7: They were all there standing behind the Acting Attorney General
[20:13] Speaker 7: and the new director of the ATF. IS they announced
[20:16] Speaker 7: these rule changes. So where do we go from here. Well,
[20:20] Speaker 7: they're going to propose these, they're going to get them finalized,
[20:24] Speaker 7: and then they published them in the Federal Register and
[20:27] Speaker 7: then there's a comment period, but these do not get
[20:30] Speaker 7: voted on by Congress. After the comment period, then ATF
[20:34] Speaker 7: just says, Okay, we are now enacting the rule, and
[20:38] Speaker 7: I suspect that what will happen is the rules will
[20:41] Speaker 7: go into effect. And they really made the point over
[20:44] Speaker 7: and over again that look, this is just the start.
[20:47] Speaker 7: We're just getting started on undoing what Biden and Obama
[20:52] Speaker 7: and Bush and others did to gun owners and gun
[20:55] Speaker 7: makers and gun sellers and to the Second Amendment itself.
[21:00] Speaker 7: And we're serious about this. I know, I know people
[21:02] Speaker 7: have kept saying, well, why haven't they done this? Why
[21:05] Speaker 7: you know BONDI this BONDI that. Well, body's gone. Okay,
[21:09] Speaker 7: whether she was the problem or not, I don't know,
[21:11] Speaker 7: don't care. She's gone. Oh ancient history, don't worry about it.
[21:16] Speaker 7: We got new people in. We got a new ATF
[21:18] Speaker 7: head in. I don't know him, but the people who
[21:23] Speaker 7: do and who have been working with them for the
[21:26] Speaker 7: past more than a year now say this is a
[21:30] Speaker 7: completely different group, and they are saying good things about this.
[21:35] Speaker 7: So I have my fingers crossed. What's that phrase, cautiously optimistic,
[21:41] Speaker 7: and I am exactly that. I think we're going to
[21:43] Speaker 7: see a lot more things happening changes in the forty
[21:47] Speaker 7: four to seventy three, probably being able to buy a
[21:51] Speaker 7: gun online using an electronic forty four to seventy three.
[21:56] Speaker 7: I mean, you can file your taxes electronically. Why couldn't
[21:59] Speaker 7: you do that? That would be a huge change. Maybe
[22:02] Speaker 7: we can get rid of the whole idea that you
[22:04] Speaker 7: can't buy a handgun in another state. That comes from
[22:07] Speaker 7: a time when we didn't have electronic records to check.
[22:09] Speaker 7: There's no reason to have that restriction. Now there's a
[22:12] Speaker 7: whole lot more coming. We'll talk about that as we
[22:14] Speaker 7: go along. You're welcome to weigh in on this one.
[22:17] Speaker 7: My number here is eight sixty six Talk Gun or Tom,
[22:20] Speaker 7: Talk Guy Paulso we're going to be talking to one
[22:23] Speaker 7: of the top female competitive shooters in the world. Fascinating
[22:27] Speaker 7: young lady. We'll have that coming up, and of course
[22:30] Speaker 7: you're arranging for us. Don't hesitate, give me a call.
[22:39] Speaker 7: It's always fun to talk with some of our friends
[22:41] Speaker 7: in the shooting world, and it is an interesting place.
[22:43] Speaker 7: It's a small community and you're run in the same
[22:46] Speaker 7: people over and over. And one of the professional shooters
[22:49] Speaker 7: we have been able to do some things with over
[22:50] Speaker 7: the years. Early on we were doing video with her
[22:53] Speaker 7: is Jayle's Williams, and she joined us. Right now. I
[22:56] Speaker 7: saw you at the NRA show. We didn't get a
[22:58] Speaker 7: chance to talk, but we said, hey, we got to
[23:00] Speaker 7: get together and do something because you well, first of all,
[23:02] Speaker 7: let's back up. You are a professional shooter. Let's just
[23:05] Speaker 7: get that out of the way. And there are very
[23:07] Speaker 7: few people who are really full time professional shooters.
[23:10] Speaker 14: Yes, sir, that is that's very true.
[23:12] Speaker 15: I am very blessed to had to have had the
[23:16] Speaker 15: opportunity when I was so young to get into it
[23:19] Speaker 15: and really develop and create such an amazing career out
[23:24] Speaker 15: of it.
[23:25] Speaker 7: How old were you when you started shooting?
[23:28] Speaker 14: I was ten.
[23:30] Speaker 7: Now are you talk about shooting competitively or were you
[23:32] Speaker 7: shooting before that just for fun or with the family.
[23:35] Speaker 6: Oh, yes, I grew up.
[23:37] Speaker 14: I mean I was four years old when I shot
[23:39] Speaker 14: my first gun.
[23:40] Speaker 6: Yeah, it was fifty seven Marlon myself.
[23:43] Speaker 14: That does stop.
[23:44] Speaker 15: You chopped the buttstock off of it in order to
[23:47] Speaker 15: that fit us. But yeah, we we shot rifles and
[23:53] Speaker 15: shotguns for hunting.
[23:55] Speaker 14: That is, that is what.
[23:56] Speaker 15: We did growing up as a family is we hunted,
[24:00] Speaker 15: So that's what guns were for My parents. They didn't
[24:03] Speaker 15: even own handguns until we discovered the shooting sports and
[24:07] Speaker 15: we're like, yo, this sounds amazing, and that's when we
[24:09] Speaker 15: dove head on into handgun competitive shooting.
[24:13] Speaker 7: Well, of course, a lot of people know you as
[24:15] Speaker 7: you know, the sisters, the Williams sisters, not the tennis
[24:18] Speaker 7: you know, Jay Lees and Justin. Of course, you guys
[24:20] Speaker 7: have been cheating competitively, as you say, since you were
[24:22] Speaker 7: ten or eleven and winning very soon after that. You
[24:26] Speaker 7: had an amazing coach and a great support staff in
[24:30] Speaker 7: the form of your family who takes care of everything
[24:32] Speaker 7: for you and still does.
[24:34] Speaker 15: Yes, yes, I mean my parents and just us as
[24:39] Speaker 15: a family unit growing up and doing this career together.
[24:43] Speaker 15: We got to travel the country which we never would
[24:45] Speaker 15: have done without shooting. And we get to go I
[24:48] Speaker 15: mean even now internationally when I go to major matches
[24:52] Speaker 15: internationally and world shoots to these you know, really cool,
[24:56] Speaker 15: amazing countries, I bring my parents. It's with me because
[25:01] Speaker 15: they were with me from the very start and they've
[25:03] Speaker 15: supported me the whole time. I love taking them with
[25:08] Speaker 15: me to these great triumphs.
[25:10] Speaker 7: I mean, you're winning gold medals all over the world.
[25:13] Speaker 7: Just give folks an idea over the last couple of years,
[25:17] Speaker 7: not just in the US, but where you have been
[25:19] Speaker 7: out of the country shooting.
[25:21] Speaker 15: Oh goodness, See there's Jamaica, Chersaw, Thailand, Czech Republic, Finland.
[25:31] Speaker 14: Oh, I'm missing one.
[25:32] Speaker 6: No, I'm missing one of South Africa.
[25:35] Speaker 15: And this year I'm going to Greece twice and Sweden.
[25:40] Speaker 7: So what are you doing in Greece and Sweden?
[25:43] Speaker 6: So in Sweden, Sweden's really cool.
[25:46] Speaker 15: I got an invitation to the Bretta Cup five hundred.
[25:51] Speaker 6: It's really cool. I'm so excited.
[25:53] Speaker 15: It's a pistol It's an international pistol match.
[25:56] Speaker 6: So I'm going to be shooting that this summer. So
[25:58] Speaker 6: excited for that.
[25:59] Speaker 15: And I'm going to Greece twice because I'm currently training
[26:03] Speaker 15: for the Shotgun World shoot in Greece in September, so
[26:07] Speaker 15: I'll be in Greece for that, but prior to September.
[26:10] Speaker 6: In oh I'm looking at my calendar.
[26:13] Speaker 14: Right now at the end of June, they're.
[26:15] Speaker 15: Having a test match at the range that is hosting
[26:19] Speaker 15: World Shoot in Greece, and it's a shotgun match. So
[26:23] Speaker 15: me and a couple of friends are, you know, going
[26:26] Speaker 15: to fly out there get kind of like the lay
[26:28] Speaker 15: of the land of what we're kind of going to
[26:31] Speaker 15: be expecting from Shotgun World Shoot to be.
[26:34] Speaker 6: Better prepared and more trained up for it.
[26:37] Speaker 15: So we are so excited to be doing that, and
[26:40] Speaker 15: I'm covering.
[26:41] Speaker 6: It all with video and everything we can watch it.
[26:44] Speaker 7: I want to talk about your video just a second,
[26:46] Speaker 7: but I gather just as we're talking right now, you're
[26:48] Speaker 7: leaving in a day or two for a rifle shoot somewhere.
[26:52] Speaker 15: Yes, I'm one of the few people that kind of
[26:55] Speaker 15: does it all. A handgun, rifle, PCC, shotgun.
[27:00] Speaker 6: I have my hands in all of them.
[27:02] Speaker 15: But yes, I'm tomorrow I leave for a Rifle World
[27:07] Speaker 15: Shoot qualifier for rifle of course. So this is really
[27:12] Speaker 15: cool because it's an ar you know, fifteen platform and everything.
[27:16] Speaker 15: I will be shooting my cold It is just I
[27:19] Speaker 15: did some adjustments over the past few days and it
[27:21] Speaker 15: is shooting absolutely beautifully, and I'm really trying to qualify
[27:28] Speaker 15: high enough to be on.
[27:30] Speaker 6: The Ladies Open team.
[27:31] Speaker 14: So it's like the most competitive division and rifle.
[27:35] Speaker 15: So I'm very excited to get my first qualifier under
[27:38] Speaker 15: my belt, get those scores in and make that team.
[27:42] Speaker 7: Okay, let's switch to pistols for a second, because I
[27:45] Speaker 7: know that you shoot cold pistols, and you know, I've
[27:48] Speaker 7: seen you rock nineteen elevens a lot, and there are
[27:50] Speaker 7: people who will say, you know what, oh, yes, nineteen elevens.
[27:52] Speaker 7: You know those are old fashioned? Why wouldnybody want that?
[27:55] Speaker 7: And I'm thinking, yeah, this is a young lady. You
[27:56] Speaker 7: ought to see her shoot at nineteen eleven. But you
[27:58] Speaker 7: shoot all the pistols I do.
[28:01] Speaker 15: I shoot a bunch of different pistols, but the nineteen
[28:03] Speaker 15: eleven is definitely.
[28:06] Speaker 6: It's definitely my favorite.
[28:07] Speaker 14: It just feels like home to me.
[28:09] Speaker 15: You know, It's what I grew up shooting, and it's
[28:12] Speaker 15: what I absolutely love. Because what people don't understand in
[28:15] Speaker 15: the competitive shooting world is with all these high cap
[28:18] Speaker 15: magazines and stuff, everybody when they enter a stage is
[28:22] Speaker 15: basically having and shooting the same stage plan, so they're
[28:26] Speaker 15: not using a lot of strategy, whereas in single stack
[28:30] Speaker 15: there is so much strategy that goes into it. It
[28:34] Speaker 15: is more than just raw shooting. And I love that
[28:37] Speaker 15: aspect of single stack.
[28:39] Speaker 7: So what's the strategy you've figured out? Where are you're
[28:41] Speaker 7: going to do your reload?
[28:43] Speaker 6: Yes, where you're going to do your reloads? If you're
[28:45] Speaker 6: going to shoot.
[28:46] Speaker 15: Major power Factor or Minor power Factor because Minor power
[28:50] Speaker 15: Factor you can have ten rounds in your magazine, whereas
[28:53] Speaker 15: in Major Power Factor you can only have eight. So
[28:56] Speaker 15: with Major minor power Factor, are you going to sacrifice
[28:59] Speaker 15: points with minor? Or are you going to sacrifice time
[29:03] Speaker 15: with major because you're going to have to do more reloads?
[29:06] Speaker 15: Like that aspect is incredible to me to try and
[29:10] Speaker 15: figure out, like because each match is its own match,
[29:12] Speaker 15: it's completely different. So you can show up with a
[29:15] Speaker 15: major gun and a minor gun, walk the stages.
[29:18] Speaker 14: And decide day of this is what is best for
[29:21] Speaker 14: this match.
[29:22] Speaker 7: Okay, you know I'm laughing here because you are so young,
[29:26] Speaker 7: and what you've just described is what we have been
[29:28] Speaker 7: talking about for the last eighty years, which is nine
[29:30] Speaker 7: millimeters versus forty five, Same old, same old. All right,
[29:36] Speaker 7: So you're doing all the shooting and your professor's shooter.
[29:38] Speaker 7: You're sponsored and now you have this video outlet where
[29:43] Speaker 7: you're doing training for people talk about that.
[29:45] Speaker 14: Yes, So I own my own training company and I can't.
[29:49] Speaker 15: I realized, like I get all these requests to go
[29:52] Speaker 15: to different parts of the country to teach classes, and
[29:55] Speaker 15: I realized, I can't get to.
[29:56] Speaker 6: Everybody out there.
[29:58] Speaker 14: It is impossible to to teach everybody.
[30:01] Speaker 15: But what I can do is have an a media
[30:05] Speaker 15: outlet to show people exactly what I teach in my
[30:09] Speaker 15: classes so that they can help teach themselves. So I
[30:14] Speaker 15: have my own YouTube. It's Jaylee's William Shooting and right
[30:17] Speaker 15: now we are going over handgun. So we went through
[30:21] Speaker 15: the fundamentals dry fire at home, and now we're taking
[30:25] Speaker 15: it out to the range. And now we're even going
[30:27] Speaker 15: further into handgun shooting, specifically the movement and the reloads
[30:34] Speaker 15: and all.
[30:35] Speaker 6: Those different aspects.
[30:36] Speaker 15: So it's not just for competitive shooters because there's so
[30:39] Speaker 15: much fundamentals that go into it.
[30:42] Speaker 14: It's great for every day you can still carry, it's.
[30:45] Speaker 15: Great for planking, it's great for competitive shooting, it's great
[30:49] Speaker 15: for everything because we're going through its step by step
[30:54] Speaker 15: and I'm very proud of it.
[30:56] Speaker 7: One of the things that I get frustrated with that's
[30:58] Speaker 7: gonna bounce it off of you. Is when I'm talking
[31:00] Speaker 7: to people, I say, you know, you really need to
[31:02] Speaker 7: get training. They say, yeah, look we go out, we train,
[31:04] Speaker 7: we shoot at the range all the time. And I said, no, no, no,
[31:07] Speaker 7: if there's no instructor present, it's not training. That's practice right.
[31:11] Speaker 6: Right, right right? No, I completely agree, and.
[31:15] Speaker 7: You practice the things you learn under training. But if
[31:18] Speaker 7: you haven't any training, and I'm sure you see this
[31:21] Speaker 7: with students, they're just sitting there grooving bad habits right.
[31:25] Speaker 15: Right, Which is why I thought about, you know, doing
[31:29] Speaker 15: this video platform. That way they can watch the video
[31:33] Speaker 15: while they're at the range and try and recreate what
[31:36] Speaker 15: we're what I'm teaching on the videos and apply it
[31:39] Speaker 15: to themselves and learn how to self diagnose themselves and
[31:43] Speaker 15: fix the issues that they're having.
[31:45] Speaker 14: Or just be a better shooter in general.
[31:48] Speaker 7: All right. I know it's hard to do this like
[31:50] Speaker 7: over the radio. It's like trying to coach somebody over
[31:53] Speaker 7: the phone. But if you say, okay, I need to
[31:55] Speaker 7: tell you two things that will help your shooting, what
[31:57] Speaker 7: would they be?
[31:59] Speaker 6: I would say?
[32:00] Speaker 15: So for me, this is something I learned a couple
[32:02] Speaker 15: of years ago. That absolutely changed my shooting for me.
[32:05] Speaker 15: I have very small hands, and so it's hard to
[32:08] Speaker 15: reach triggers on guns because I my hands haven't grown
[32:13] Speaker 15: in ten years. So what I figured out is if
[32:16] Speaker 15: I got a very short trigger in my gun and
[32:19] Speaker 15: I can pull my finger away from the gun and
[32:23] Speaker 15: not have it flat against the gun, my groups all
[32:27] Speaker 15: of a sudden tightened up.
[32:28] Speaker 14: I stopped shooting left because I'm right handed.
[32:32] Speaker 15: I stopped pushing my finger against the gun while I
[32:35] Speaker 15: was pulling the trigger. So getting that short trigger and
[32:38] Speaker 15: then creating almost like a ninety degree angle in my
[32:41] Speaker 15: finger to pull the trigger straight back, I mean it
[32:45] Speaker 15: tightened up my shooting like crazy.
[32:48] Speaker 7: Otherwise, if you're having to reach for the trigger when
[32:52] Speaker 7: you press the trigger, your acts your fingers actually moving
[32:55] Speaker 7: to the left while it's coming back right.
[32:58] Speaker 15: Yeah, and your fingers against the gun, and so it's
[33:00] Speaker 15: it's actively pushing.
[33:02] Speaker 14: The gun as you're pulling the trigger. Sure, which just
[33:05] Speaker 14: creates so many issues.
[33:06] Speaker 7: With nineteen eleven. You can get different Lenk triggers.
[33:10] Speaker 15: Yes, that's a great thing about like nineteen elevens and
[33:13] Speaker 15: ars and everything is that they've been.
[33:15] Speaker 14: Around for so long.
[33:16] Speaker 15: There's an insurmountable amount of aftermarket parts that you can
[33:21] Speaker 15: create the gun that is meant and best for you.
[33:26] Speaker 7: Okay, all right, so you got your video thing going,
[33:28] Speaker 7: you got your traveling the world shooting with Petiley. What
[33:31] Speaker 7: else are you doing these days?
[33:33] Speaker 6: I'm not doing much anything else.
[33:34] Speaker 14: I mean, I'm I'm a.
[33:36] Speaker 15: Little old lady in my heart at night to kind
[33:39] Speaker 15: of like calm down from the.
[33:41] Speaker 6: Crazy days I have.
[33:43] Speaker 14: I've picked up needle points.
[33:45] Speaker 7: It's very wait wait wait wait, you're barely past twenty
[33:49] Speaker 7: years old.
[33:50] Speaker 15: I know, I know, but no, needle point is so
[33:54] Speaker 15: much fun and you get to be so precise with it,
[33:57] Speaker 15: which you know me, of course, I like being precise
[34:01] Speaker 15: and clean and everything. So you know, that's me and
[34:04] Speaker 15: my shooting life. That's just me in my regular life.
[34:07] Speaker 15: So this is a really great outlet to do it.
[34:10] Speaker 7: Yeah, you never seeks to amaze me. Jay Lys is amazing.
[34:14] Speaker 7: For your training. Where do we go for my training?
[34:17] Speaker 5: It's on YouTube?
[34:18] Speaker 14: So it's Jamie's william shooting on YouTube.
[34:20] Speaker 7: Okay, James Williams shooting on YouTube? Got it?
[34:23] Speaker 6: Yes?
[34:24] Speaker 15: Yes, And there I have my training stuff on there
[34:27] Speaker 15: for people to see and learn. But I also cover
[34:30] Speaker 15: a bunch of matches I shoot and international matches, so
[34:33] Speaker 15: they get to, you know, see what a world shoot
[34:36] Speaker 15: actually looks like and feels like and everything that goes
[34:39] Speaker 15: into that as well well.
[34:41] Speaker 7: And I will just add that they also get to
[34:43] Speaker 7: know you. A delightful young lady with a wonderful family.
[34:46] Speaker 7: We've known your family and you and your sister for
[34:48] Speaker 7: a long time and it's a real pleasure to be
[34:51] Speaker 7: able to catch up with you and find out what's
[34:53] Speaker 7: going on.
[34:54] Speaker 15: Yes, sir, thank you so much for having me on.
[34:56] Speaker 15: I always enjoy hearing from you and seeing from you.
[34:58] Speaker 15: I wish I would have had more time to see
[35:01] Speaker 15: you at NRA.
[35:02] Speaker 7: I know we'll catch up somewhere along. Well, it'll have
[35:05] Speaker 7: to probably be shot show because between now and then,
[35:07] Speaker 7: all you're going to be doing is going all around
[35:09] Speaker 7: the world. And she does That's what she does. She
[35:13] Speaker 7: goes all over the world. Jay Lee's Williams just a delight,
[35:16] Speaker 7: a real pleasure. Like I said, we started shooting video
[35:19] Speaker 7: with them, the Williams sisters, she had the shooting ones.
[35:23] Speaker 7: They were probably twelve, twelve and thirteen when we started
[35:26] Speaker 7: shooting video with them. So yeah, we've known them a
[35:28] Speaker 7: long time, really good shooters. Okay, I do want to
[35:31] Speaker 7: get this out right now while I can, because you's
[35:34] Speaker 7: it's highly unlikely you would be able to do this. Okay,
[35:38] Speaker 7: but just in case, a bucket list item just opened up.
[35:45] Speaker 7: I'm sitting here looking across the studio and I've got
[35:47] Speaker 7: big piles of stuff going to Gunsight. I'll be taking
[35:51] Speaker 7: a class there a week from tomorrow. We start. That
[35:54] Speaker 7: would be Monday the eleventh, and this is the Jeff
[36:00] Speaker 7: Cooper Anniversary nineteen eleven, two fifty class. It's on the
[36:05] Speaker 7: anniversary of the of Jeff Cooper's birthday. He was the founder,
[36:09] Speaker 7: of course, of Gunsight, actually the founder of the modern
[36:11] Speaker 7: technique of the pistol what we consider to be modern
[36:15] Speaker 7: pistol shooting and gun fighting using two hands. He's the
[36:18] Speaker 7: guy that got all that started. So they're having this
[36:21] Speaker 7: class and it's I say, it's kind of like our
[36:26] Speaker 7: classic car rally because we're using nineteen elevens iron sights
[36:29] Speaker 7: and leather holsters. Well, here's the deal. We had a
[36:32] Speaker 7: group going, six of us. The two had to pull
[36:35] Speaker 7: out for various reasons, so we've got two openings. Look,
[36:38] Speaker 7: I'm not connected to this in any form of fashion.
[36:40] Speaker 7: I don't have any financial connection to it at all.
[36:42] Speaker 7: I'm just going and taking the class, taking some friends.
[36:45] Speaker 7: But there are two openings. They may have more than that,
[36:47] Speaker 7: I don't know, but there are at least two openings
[36:49] Speaker 7: for this and it is a week from tomorrow. And yeah,
[36:52] Speaker 7: I get it. It's it's in Arizona and maybole to
[36:54] Speaker 7: require upsetting your schedule and everything else, But it is
[36:58] Speaker 7: in fact buck get less item. If anybody's been there
[37:02] Speaker 7: can tell you about that. If by any chance you
[37:05] Speaker 7: had an idea that you would want to go, I
[37:07] Speaker 7: would suggest going to the gun Side website g U
[37:10] Speaker 7: n si te dot com or maybe even smarter give
[37:14] Speaker 7: them a call at nine too eight six three six
[37:18] Speaker 7: forty five sixty five nine to eight six three six
[37:21] Speaker 7: four or five sixty five. Also next week, a week
[37:24] Speaker 7: from today, I'll be doing a live show from Gunsite
[37:27] Speaker 7: on in fact, Jeff Cooper's birthday, So we're gonna have
[37:30] Speaker 7: to people from Gunsite, some of the gun related companies
[37:33] Speaker 7: from around that area. And it's kind of a miniature
[37:36] Speaker 7: gun Valley, if you will. The original Gun Valley was
[37:39] Speaker 7: up in New England area where a lot of the
[37:42] Speaker 7: gun makers started one hundred and fifty years ago, almost
[37:45] Speaker 7: two hundred years ago, primarily because that's where there was
[37:49] Speaker 7: water available to power plants. Kind of interesting way that
[37:53] Speaker 7: all developed. And now you've got these miniature areas that
[37:57] Speaker 7: gun makers pop up in, and that Prescott, Arizona area
[38:01] Speaker 7: is certainly one. Bruger's got a major factory there. Actually,
[38:05] Speaker 7: weirdly enough, Boise the Idaho is starting to become that
[38:08] Speaker 7: in North Idaho up around Cordeline starting to do that
[38:11] Speaker 7: as well. Number of smaller companies whether they're holster makers
[38:14] Speaker 7: or makers or barrels or whatever. You just never know.
[38:18] Speaker 7: There are a lot of people getting into making guns
[38:21] Speaker 7: and accessories. So there you go. So if you had
[38:24] Speaker 7: any interest in going to Gunsight and doing this crazy
[38:28] Speaker 7: nineteen eleven class, by all means take a look at that.
[38:31] Speaker 7: We will have more reports on that as to go along,
[38:33] Speaker 7: but it's going to be a lot of fun. I'm
[38:34] Speaker 7: really looking forward to that. I have two pistols ready
[38:37] Speaker 7: to go, the primary in the backup, and then you know,
[38:41] Speaker 7: I got two pistols from the guns like gunsmith, and
[38:45] Speaker 7: one of them is just having post operation difficulties. So
[38:50] Speaker 7: we're gonna take it back and say all right, it
[38:52] Speaker 7: needs a little bit more work. And that's one of
[38:53] Speaker 7: the nice things about working with quality people. They'll go, yeah, okay,
[38:56] Speaker 7: we'll take care of it, and it'll get picked and
[38:58] Speaker 7: it's just fine. I have two really good functioning nineteen
[39:02] Speaker 7: elevens in forty five. Yeah, I'm going to shoot the old,
[39:04] Speaker 7: big fat slow forty five. So there you go. No
[39:07] Speaker 7: comments about me being big fat and slow. We don't
[39:09] Speaker 7: allow that. Well sometimes anyway, if you want to be
[39:12] Speaker 7: a part of this, give me a call eight sixty
[39:14] Speaker 7: six Talk Gun looking for your range reports. I'm Tom Gresham.
[39:18] Speaker 7: Gun Talk will be right back. All right, that went
[39:28] Speaker 7: in here, Tom Gresham, it's a gun Talk. Give me
[39:30] Speaker 7: called eight six six Talk Gun or Tom Talk Gun.
[39:33] Speaker 7: As I said, I'll get ready to head down to
[39:35] Speaker 7: Arizona and do some training there. I figured out some
[39:40] Speaker 7: years ago, I really like training, I like learning. I
[39:43] Speaker 7: like going to gun schools. I started making a list.
[39:47] Speaker 7: It was kind of crazy. SEG Academy, Smith and West Academy,
[39:50] Speaker 7: Shoot Right Academy, Tack Pro in Texas. Obviously our range
[39:55] Speaker 7: Ready studios which we have down Louisiana currently operating Fire's
[39:59] Speaker 7: Acade MEF Seattle Thunder Ranch, a few others along the way,
[40:04] Speaker 7: and then shot with a number of the top shooters
[40:07] Speaker 7: and just getting lessons here and there. I just enjoy it.
[40:09] Speaker 7: I'm I am not competition level shooter, never claim to be.
[40:15] Speaker 7: I don't shoot in competitions. And people say, well, you know,
[40:17] Speaker 7: what are your splits? I don't know. I don't do that.
[40:20] Speaker 7: I'm just trying to get better. From a defensive standpoint,
[40:22] Speaker 7: Can I draw and shoot? Move? Can I draw, shoot,
[40:25] Speaker 7: move and communicate? Do I tune that up? And by practice?
[40:31] Speaker 7: Will it be enough if I need it for a
[40:33] Speaker 7: self defense situation? There is no way to know. But
[40:38] Speaker 7: being better it's got to be an improvement over being worse.
[40:42] Speaker 7: I mean basically, it's for the definition of the work better.
[40:47] Speaker 7: So I try to be better. I try to work
[40:48] Speaker 7: on it. Besides that, and you know, we could try
[40:52] Speaker 7: to justify to any way we want to. But this
[40:55] Speaker 7: stuff is fun. Going to take it a class like this,
[40:58] Speaker 7: It's just fun around a bunch of people who, for
[41:02] Speaker 7: the most part think the way you do, for the
[41:05] Speaker 7: most part, have similar values. We're all handling guns safely.
[41:10] Speaker 7: At guns like, for instance, it's a hot range it's
[41:14] Speaker 7: not a case of unloads your gun. When you're done
[41:16] Speaker 7: with the stage, you simply put the gun back in
[41:18] Speaker 7: your holester and don't touch it. It's loaded. Everybody else
[41:20] Speaker 7: is wearing a loaded gun. When you go to lunch,
[41:22] Speaker 7: everybody's wearing a loaded gun. When you go an administration building,
[41:27] Speaker 7: the administration people are all wearing loaded guns. It's just
[41:31] Speaker 7: what it is, and we're all smart enough to not
[41:34] Speaker 7: pull them out and do something stupid with them. Okay,
[41:37] Speaker 7: we have really good instruction there. It'll be fun. So
[41:39] Speaker 7: I mean again, if you get a chance, if you
[41:41] Speaker 7: last minute, totally last minute, if you decide I wanted
[41:44] Speaker 7: to go in a week from tomorrow, starting on May eleven,
[41:48] Speaker 7: we're going to do the two fifty class there. And look,
[41:50] Speaker 7: if you can't make the nineteen eleven two fifty class,
[41:52] Speaker 7: you can make another class there, or you can go
[41:54] Speaker 7: down to gun Braves Ready Studios. I'm gonna be going
[41:59] Speaker 7: down there in June. Yeah, got it's next month. Now, Wow,
[42:03] Speaker 7: we're gonna be doing an event with a major gun
[42:05] Speaker 7: maker announcing a new product. We do a number of
[42:09] Speaker 7: these events there where gun makers come in and they
[42:13] Speaker 7: bring in some of the media and do an announcement.
[42:18] Speaker 7: Usually it's embargoed for a period of time before people
[42:22] Speaker 7: can release it and talk about it, so I won't
[42:24] Speaker 7: be able to talk about the gun we're shooting there
[42:28] Speaker 7: at least until they release it and say okay, hey
[42:29] Speaker 7: can do that. But it'll be fine. We'll get to
[42:31] Speaker 7: shoot some and you know, I'm a real big fan
[42:34] Speaker 7: of OPA. Other people's AMMO get to go shoot there,
[42:39] Speaker 7: and occasionally we actually open these things up to the
[42:43] Speaker 7: public where you can go shoot and what is essentially
[42:47] Speaker 7: a media event where the gun media gets to go
[42:51] Speaker 7: and you might have to sign an NDA it says
[42:54] Speaker 7: I can't talk about this new gun that I got
[42:56] Speaker 7: to shoot at this thing. Sometimes you even get to
[42:59] Speaker 7: keep the new gun. Yeah, Actually part of the enrollment
[43:04] Speaker 7: is you get to keep the new gun and the
[43:06] Speaker 7: animos provided and the hosters are provided and some other stuff.
[43:08] Speaker 7: So if that interests you, by all means, go over
[43:11] Speaker 7: to range Ready Studios, take a look there and sign
[43:14] Speaker 7: up for the newsletter. Because those classes sell out in
[43:16] Speaker 7: days what's the're announced, So if you go back and
[43:19] Speaker 7: check like once a month, you'll miss out on those
[43:22] Speaker 7: range Ready Studios dot com. So that's what I have
[43:26] Speaker 7: been doing. Love to know what you have been doing. Also,
[43:29] Speaker 7: you know me. I like to read. I like to
[43:30] Speaker 7: read interesting books, particularly those that have to do with
[43:34] Speaker 7: guns and shooting and shooters. Sometimes fiction, sometimes nonfiction. Coming up,
[43:40] Speaker 7: we're gonna be having one of the top fiction writers
[43:43] Speaker 7: authors talk about a rand new book. It's different involves guns,
[43:48] Speaker 7: actually involves New Orleans and Louisiana, my old stomping grounds
[43:51] Speaker 7: of cool stuff there. But you could be a part
[43:53] Speaker 7: of it. Call me now eight six' six talk. GUN
[43:56] Speaker 7: i Am Tom. Gresham this is gun.
[43:59] Speaker 15: Talking
