[0:25] Speaker 2: Czfirearms dot com.
[0:29] Speaker 3: He was the first and he's still the best. For
[0:32] Speaker 3: thirty years, Tom Gresham has been your trusted source on
[0:36] Speaker 3: all things ballistic, new guns. Second Amendment Personal protection deep
[0:40] Speaker 3: part of it. Paul, Tom talk gun.
[0:43] Speaker 4: Now. Here's Tom.
[1:01] Speaker 5: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of
[1:05] Speaker 5: a free state, the right of the people to keep
[1:08] Speaker 5: and bear arms shall not be infringed. When the British
[1:13] Speaker 5: tried to take our firearms in Powder, we objected, We
[1:17] Speaker 5: fought them, beat them, and founded a new country. It's
[1:21] Speaker 5: been two hundred and fifty years, but there are still people,
[1:25] Speaker 5: groups and political parties trying to take away our guns
[1:29] Speaker 5: and our means of protecting ourselves, our families, and our country.
[1:34] Speaker 5: We didn't let them do it then, and we won't
[1:37] Speaker 5: let them do it today. Gun rights are an essential
[1:40] Speaker 5: civil right. Gun Talk is proud to carry that fight forward,
[1:44] Speaker 5: and we salute those who volunteered for this constant fight
[1:48] Speaker 5: to preserve the Second Amendment shall not be infringed. All right,
[1:57] Speaker 5: As we hit our two hundred and fifty is a
[1:59] Speaker 5: year for America, we are still involved in the fight
[2:03] Speaker 5: to preserve the Second Amendment. I'm Tom Gresham. This is
[2:05] Speaker 5: Gun Talk. Glad that you could be here. We've got
[2:08] Speaker 5: a lot of things to talk about today and we
[2:10] Speaker 5: expect you to be a big part of that.
[2:12] Speaker 6: By just giving us a shout.
[2:14] Speaker 5: You can offer your range report, and I think you've
[2:16] Speaker 5: been buying shooting, taking somebody out to the range. Just
[2:19] Speaker 5: your comments, your thoughts. You know what, if you disagree
[2:22] Speaker 5: with something we're saying here, by all means, jump right in.
[2:24] Speaker 5: Because it's pretty hard to hurt my feelings. I mean,
[2:27] Speaker 5: I don't cry that off, and I do occasionally. Yeah,
[2:30] Speaker 5: give it and try. You can give me a call
[2:31] Speaker 5: and let me know what I've done wrong this time.
[2:34] Speaker 5: We are live today from Gun Talk h Q down
[2:38] Speaker 5: in Louisiana. We're in the middle of Range Ready Studios
[2:42] Speaker 5: in this beautiful studio that they've got set up here
[2:44] Speaker 5: joined right now by Ryan Gresham. He is the head
[2:48] Speaker 5: pooba at gun Talk. Right hits your button there, says
[2:51] Speaker 5: you can talk to me.
[2:54] Speaker 7: We're down in Southuisiana.
[2:55] Speaker 5: You know we are, and you know what, and both
[2:57] Speaker 5: of us are still not triggionaires.
[3:00] Speaker 6: So there you go. But you know, the week is
[3:02] Speaker 6: just getting started, so you never know.
[3:04] Speaker 7: They never know.
[3:05] Speaker 5: They could have worked for us. I still got that
[3:08] Speaker 5: longmoorning mowing job. You never know what's going to happen
[3:10] Speaker 5: out here.
[3:11] Speaker 4: You know.
[3:11] Speaker 7: Just hold onto those stocks and see where they go.
[3:14] Speaker 5: That's right, that's right, grab two shares of SpaceX and
[3:17] Speaker 5: just let them.
[3:17] Speaker 6: Ride, right.
[3:18] Speaker 8: I mean, I'm thinking that, you know, he's he's kind
[3:20] Speaker 8: of got this monopoly on space, private space exploration or whatever.
[3:25] Speaker 7: Right that means there's room for another company.
[3:27] Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I'm liking what you're thinking.
[3:29] Speaker 5: Yeah, here we go, and we've got a fireworks stand
[3:32] Speaker 5: just down the road. We can start there, right, get
[3:33] Speaker 5: some mosse bottle rockets and go from there. So for
[3:37] Speaker 5: those that don't know, we're at Range Rating Studios, which
[3:40] Speaker 5: is part of the gun Talk headquarters down and kind
[3:42] Speaker 5: of halfway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge and Robert Louisiana,
[3:46] Speaker 5: and a lot of people now have been down here
[3:47] Speaker 5: to classes and events, and you might just talk a
[3:50] Speaker 5: little bit about what this place is and god, what
[3:54] Speaker 5: it was before.
[3:55] Speaker 8: Sure, I mean some of the listeners have probably heard
[3:58] Speaker 8: this a little bit, but I mean, yeah, we're a
[4:00] Speaker 8: media company and we expanded and we needed we wanted
[4:03] Speaker 8: a bigger studio space, a little bit more office space,
[4:08] Speaker 8: and we ended up we ended up buying a property
[4:11] Speaker 8: that was probably bigger than what we needed. But sometimes
[4:15] Speaker 8: that's kind of how it goes. It's room to grow,
[4:16] Speaker 8: room to grow. We'll grow into it and then you
[4:19] Speaker 8: know you're like full. A year later, we're we're room room.
[4:23] Speaker 8: But but it did let us. We didn't honestly, we
[4:26] Speaker 8: didn't think that we would have a shooting range. We
[4:28] Speaker 8: just kind of said, well, we're gonna have some offices
[4:30] Speaker 8: and we'll have some kind of warehouse.
[4:31] Speaker 7: We could turn into a TV studio.
[4:34] Speaker 8: But when we looked around, we found this place that
[4:36] Speaker 8: just wasn't very far from our existing offices and went,
[4:40] Speaker 8: wait a minute, we can we can do a range there.
[4:42] Speaker 8: And we The backstory, behind the scenes story is we
[4:47] Speaker 8: met with the local government to make sure and you
[4:51] Speaker 8: never know what local government's going to say, your local
[4:54] Speaker 8: caulendar like, are they gonna and we were.
[4:56] Speaker 7: We didn't hide a single thing.
[4:58] Speaker 8: Is this is who we are, is what we want
[4:59] Speaker 8: to do, and then went fantastic, how can we help?
[5:03] Speaker 7: Oh wait, this is a good place to be. We're
[5:05] Speaker 7: in the right spot.
[5:05] Speaker 5: That's the local parish government's counties. Because it's parish. Everything
[5:10] Speaker 5: is weird and different, right, that's for sure. We like
[5:12] Speaker 5: it that way exactly.
[5:14] Speaker 8: But yeah, I mean you you kind of go, people
[5:15] Speaker 8: go why are you and Robert Louisiana. Well that's one reason,
[5:18] Speaker 8: because they're friendly to what we're doing, right, And it's
[5:21] Speaker 8: actually really easy to get here.
[5:22] Speaker 7: I mean, you have major airports all around.
[5:25] Speaker 8: It's right off of an interstate, a few miles off
[5:28] Speaker 8: the interstate, so you know, some some shooting facilities are
[5:32] Speaker 8: in the middle of nowhere.
[5:33] Speaker 7: They kind of have to be.
[5:34] Speaker 8: But we're lucky enough to be able to do this
[5:36] Speaker 8: and not be really in the middle of it.
[5:38] Speaker 5: It's an interesting place because you're doing all sorts of it.
[5:41] Speaker 5: The things you're doing here are varied. Yeah, you got
[5:45] Speaker 5: you know a number of videographers and editors and other
[5:49] Speaker 5: staff people. Although you've got a real small staff, you
[5:51] Speaker 5: kind of out kick your coverage with that. You do
[5:53] Speaker 5: so much, but it's not a training facility where all
[5:58] Speaker 5: you do is teach you also, I mean primarily you're
[6:02] Speaker 5: producing content, right that goes online and goes well, radio
[6:06] Speaker 5: goes pretty much anywhere. What do you say, anywhere you
[6:09] Speaker 5: can get it out there.
[6:10] Speaker 8: I mean, you just that's just the nature of it
[6:12] Speaker 8: these days. You as a media company, when you're making content,
[6:16] Speaker 8: we used to say, well, our show is on this
[6:20] Speaker 8: channel on Saturdays at seven pm, go watch it, right, Well,
[6:24] Speaker 8: you can't do that anymore. I mean, you make that
[6:26] Speaker 8: show that runs on Saturdays at seven pm, and then
[6:28] Speaker 8: you also re edit it to you know, to thirty
[6:30] Speaker 8: six different social media reels, and you know, put it
[6:34] Speaker 8: out as a podcast, put it out as a radio show,
[6:36] Speaker 8: put it out as you know, all kinds of things, email, newsletters.
[6:40] Speaker 8: So that's our main thing. But we do have the
[6:42] Speaker 8: range here we do. We do run classes and events.
[6:45] Speaker 8: Sometimes the events are our product launch events. We're going
[6:49] Speaker 8: to be doing a few of those more this year
[6:52] Speaker 8: for new things that will be coming out, and then
[6:54] Speaker 8: some of them are are open to the public. But
[6:56] Speaker 8: it's kind of a special experience, which we have a
[6:59] Speaker 8: few of those in the works.
[7:00] Speaker 5: Say, and some of them are media owned, like where
[7:03] Speaker 5: you got the gun media comes in for a new
[7:05] Speaker 5: product introduction from any of the major companies that comes
[7:08] Speaker 5: in here, and some are kind of these hybrid things
[7:12] Speaker 5: where there will be some in the firearms industry and
[7:16] Speaker 5: the media there here, but you also can come in
[7:19] Speaker 5: and participate, essentially be one of the gun media and
[7:23] Speaker 5: see what it's like to go to a product introduction
[7:25] Speaker 5: and see how the gun media is treated on these things.
[7:28] Speaker 8: It's a it's a really it really we try to
[7:30] Speaker 8: make it exactly like that. A very unique experience, a
[7:34] Speaker 8: very high level experience where it's it's not just come
[7:38] Speaker 8: out to the dirt pit, bring your bag, lunch, and
[7:43] Speaker 8: the urine and the porta potty is over there, right,
[7:45] Speaker 8: you know, like this is not that, No, this is
[7:48] Speaker 8: a high end it's a nicer experience, very nice building. Frankly,
[7:52] Speaker 8: it's an experience that you can't get anywhere else. When
[7:56] Speaker 8: you say, like we're going to run the RXm class
[7:59] Speaker 8: with Ruger and is here and included in the these
[8:03] Speaker 8: you know you can you can get the gun and
[8:05] Speaker 8: the ammos provided and everything's provided. So we've got a
[8:07] Speaker 8: few of those in the works that I they're going.
[8:10] Speaker 7: To launch soon.
[8:11] Speaker 5: Hopefully you told me about one of them, and I
[8:13] Speaker 5: wish we could talk about it because it may be
[8:14] Speaker 5: the cool you've done cool stuff.
[8:16] Speaker 6: This may be the coolest of all.
[8:17] Speaker 8: Seriously, it's probably the coolest thing we've done. I've it's
[8:20] Speaker 8: we've been.
[8:21] Speaker 7: Working on it for a year.
[8:23] Speaker 5: I'll give a hit burr uper, I'm sorry, did I
[8:26] Speaker 5: say that?
[8:27] Speaker 8: So, uh, we've been working on it for really a
[8:30] Speaker 8: year and everybody I kind of mentioned the concept to
[8:33] Speaker 8: their eyes get wide, their eyebrows go up, and they go.
[8:36] Speaker 7: Seriously, yeah.
[8:37] Speaker 8: So that's hopefully in a few weeks we'll be able
[8:40] Speaker 8: to announce some things that are happening.
[8:42] Speaker 6: But if you wait for it to appear.
[8:46] Speaker 5: On the website, there's a real good chance you will
[8:48] Speaker 5: miss out on it because those kind of events sell
[8:51] Speaker 5: out really fast.
[8:52] Speaker 7: They do.
[8:52] Speaker 8: I mean they typically sell out in twenty four to
[8:55] Speaker 8: forty eight hours, one or two days, and it's and
[8:57] Speaker 8: it's filled up, and then then we end up on
[8:59] Speaker 8: a waiting list and we have we'll have people that
[9:02] Speaker 8: no I never got around to it or I just
[9:04] Speaker 8: heard about it and can you open up more spots?
[9:07] Speaker 5: No, that's all I's so you got to get on
[9:10] Speaker 5: the mailing list, yes, because you're the mailing list will
[9:13] Speaker 5: go out and it'll be the big announcement and probably
[9:17] Speaker 5: within something like forty eight to seventy two hours, it's
[9:20] Speaker 5: going to sell out.
[9:21] Speaker 7: Correct. Correct.
[9:22] Speaker 8: So if you go to Rangereadystudios dot com, that's who
[9:26] Speaker 8: we send these announcements to first. The people who if
[9:29] Speaker 8: you go to that website and you sign up for
[9:31] Speaker 8: the email newsletter, the mailing list, that's who finds out
[9:35] Speaker 8: about it first. That's kind of our promise, our brand
[9:38] Speaker 8: promise as range Ready Training is if you're on our
[9:41] Speaker 8: email list, you're the first one to hear about this,
[9:44] Speaker 8: and then we send it out to our gun Talk
[9:47] Speaker 8: newsletter list, and then we send it out to you
[9:50] Speaker 8: know on the on the podcast or we talk about
[9:53] Speaker 8: it here. So if you know, if but a lot
[9:55] Speaker 8: of times it's already sold out. So yeah, I definitely
[9:58] Speaker 8: encourage people to go sign up.
[9:59] Speaker 5: Now, Okay, I'm gonna take a quick break because on
[10:01] Speaker 5: the backside, I want to talk about something on the
[10:05] Speaker 5: online media streaming services and all of that they don't
[10:09] Speaker 5: treat gun folks all that well, and sometimes it's a
[10:12] Speaker 5: lot worse than that. And so you have created a
[10:16] Speaker 5: way to get around censorship online and people are going
[10:21] Speaker 5: to be able to see all this gun content without
[10:23] Speaker 5: having to worry about is this stuff being blocked. We'll
[10:26] Speaker 5: talk about that when we comeback where at Range Range Studios.
[10:28] Speaker 5: We're talking with Ryan Gresham. You could be a part
[10:30] Speaker 5: of this. Give me a call an eight six y
[10:32] Speaker 5: six Talk gun or Tom Talk Gun.
[10:34] Speaker 6: We'll be right back.

[10:59] Speaker 1: Each limited production model echos Ruger's legendary nineteen seventy six
[11:03] Speaker 1: bi centennial line while celebrating the freedoms the Second Amendment
[11:06] Speaker 1: has safeguarded for generations, from the iconic ten twenty two
[11:10] Speaker 1: to the LCP Max, the Super Wrangler to the American
[11:13] Speaker 1: Rifle Gen two. These aren't just guns.

[12:06] Speaker 10: out which lubricant you need, visit Slip two thousand dot
[12:09] Speaker 10: com slash gun Talk Slip two thousand. If you haven't
[12:13] Speaker 10: heard of us, you haven't been listening.
[12:16] Speaker 11: Black Hill Zamo is now loading a three hundred PRC
[12:19] Speaker 11: round with a high VC hornity two twenty five grain
[12:21] Speaker 11: eld match pro jectile. The three hundred PRC design eliminated
[12:25] Speaker 11: the unnecessary belt of the three hundred Winchester magnum and
[12:28] Speaker 11: increased the body diameter. The result is increased powder capacity
[12:32] Speaker 11: and a nearly one hundred and fifty feet per second
[12:34] Speaker 11: velocity increase to twenty eight hundred fps. The three hundred
[12:37] Speaker 11: PRC two twenty five ELD match provides superior capability on
[12:41] Speaker 11: distant targets. Black Hills ammunition the power of performance.
[12:48] Speaker 1: Ruger didn't just update the AR, they rebuilt it from
[12:51] Speaker 1: the ground up. The Harrier is the modern sporting rifle
[12:54] Speaker 1: reimagined for the serious shooter. MILLSPEC four seventy seventy five
[12:58] Speaker 1: receivers and I tried to bold carry group with stacked
[13:01] Speaker 1: gas key, amlock, handguard, with full length accessory rail, access
[13:05] Speaker 1: threaded barrel, ready for whatever you add to it. This
[13:08] Speaker 1: isn't an iteration, It's an evolution decades of Ruger engineering
[13:12] Speaker 1: discipline poured into the platform. You love the Ruger Harrier.
[13:26] Speaker 6: Part.
[13:27] Speaker 5: We're talking with Ryan Gresham from Gundar during the breakdown
[13:30] Speaker 5: listening we got this commercial for sub two thousand. Reminded
[13:33] Speaker 5: me when Bill Offers was building my forty five and
[13:38] Speaker 5: he sent me in there and he says, remember he
[13:39] Speaker 5: says on nineteen eleven, is heavy equipment it needs lubrication.
[13:44] Speaker 7: Okay, well how often is that true?
[13:47] Speaker 8: Where you I When we see this, we get all
[13:49] Speaker 8: these different guns here, and then we're talking about the classes.
[13:51] Speaker 8: People bring their guns and like, oh, it's not running. Well,
[13:55] Speaker 8: have you looped it?
[13:56] Speaker 5: Have you?
[13:57] Speaker 7: Have you? Have you cleaned this thing? Ever?
[14:00] Speaker 6: Yeah?
[14:00] Speaker 5: And people say, well, you know you don't want to
[14:02] Speaker 5: use too much loop. Well, I guess that's true, But
[14:05] Speaker 5: the reality is you can put a lot of lube
[14:07] Speaker 5: on these guns. The only time it's really overlooped is
[14:10] Speaker 5: if it's starting to accumulate dust and griming junk.
[14:12] Speaker 8: And it's kind of it's funny because I've been guilty
[14:15] Speaker 8: of it over the last couple of years. I've had
[14:17] Speaker 8: a couple different guns. It was like, I don't know,
[14:18] Speaker 8: it's kind of it's not working right. And Chris Sereno
[14:22] Speaker 8: ends up kind of being our like de facto gunsmith
[14:24] Speaker 8: guy here, like Chris, let's hope with this and he's
[14:27] Speaker 8: he'll pick up this semiauto chaka and that's not really cycling,
[14:32] Speaker 8: and he runs it a little bit, plays with the action.
[14:34] Speaker 8: He goes, Ryan, this thing's drier than a popcorn fart,
[14:40] Speaker 8: all right, Just like Chris all right, fine, then let's
[14:43] Speaker 8: get some play.
[14:44] Speaker 5: I like the ELW I mean they got several different ones,
[14:47] Speaker 5: but man, and I've just gotten to where it's like,
[14:50] Speaker 5: particularly the nineteen eleven every three to five hundred rounds,
[14:53] Speaker 5: you got a little.
[14:54] Speaker 7: Bit and it's you know, and you're talking about slip
[14:56] Speaker 7: two thousand.
[14:57] Speaker 8: There are different types of loob, different like probably they're
[15:02] Speaker 8: all gonna be helpful, but like there are kind of
[15:05] Speaker 8: the appropriate and they do I know that.
[15:07] Speaker 7: I don't know.
[15:08] Speaker 8: There's a lot of companies out there that do it.
[15:09] Speaker 8: They do a nice job kind of explaining it.
[15:11] Speaker 6: They explain what to use for what.
[15:13] Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, it's like okay, if you're going into heavy
[15:15] Speaker 5: duty stuff, you know, I mean most of us are
[15:17] Speaker 5: not going into combat, but if you were.
[15:18] Speaker 6: They have the stuff for that too.
[15:19] Speaker 9: S h.
[15:21] Speaker 6: So you you did something on Facebook here?
[15:22] Speaker 8: Oh well, so I just this morning I put it
[15:25] Speaker 8: out there. I said that we were gonna be doing
[15:27] Speaker 8: the radio show. You know, what should we be talking about?
[15:30] Speaker 8: What are your thoughts or questions? And people chimed in
[15:33] Speaker 8: and I'm gonna just give you I haven't told you
[15:35] Speaker 8: what people said.
[15:36] Speaker 6: I have no idea.
[15:37] Speaker 8: What's we've got We've got a few things going on here.
[15:39] Speaker 8: I'm gonna just run. We don't have to call it. Yes,
[15:42] Speaker 8: I know, it's what's going on in Virginia, he says.
[15:45] Speaker 8: You know, another guy said, we can shooting. Want us
[15:49] Speaker 8: to talk about we can shooting. F RT's both.
[15:52] Speaker 6: Of my hands are weekends. That's right.
[15:55] Speaker 8: Frt's budget quality over and unders.
[16:00] Speaker 7: I mean, you know, it's kind of funny.
[16:01] Speaker 8: And another guy said, force reset triggers yep, universal concealed
[16:05] Speaker 8: carry permits.
[16:08] Speaker 7: So yeah, there's a couple of things people.
[16:09] Speaker 5: Wanting to A short version on Virginia is their new
[16:13] Speaker 5: gun bands go into effect July one, and there was
[16:17] Speaker 5: a lawsuit crump be Cats that were supposed to be
[16:21] Speaker 5: heard I guess this week, and then they canceled it.
[16:24] Speaker 5: And now the court's trying to look at their like
[16:26] Speaker 5: four different lawsuits and they're trying to figure out if
[16:30] Speaker 5: they want to combine them and put them all together.
[16:32] Speaker 5: But there's another one which may end up being heard
[16:35] Speaker 5: before that because it doesn't challenge these new gun bands
[16:39] Speaker 5: on the basis of the Second Amendment. It's challenging them
[16:42] Speaker 5: on the basis of the Virginia Constitution Militia Act. And
[16:48] Speaker 5: it's saying, wait a minute, we can't have the Militia
[16:51] Speaker 5: Act because you're banning the guns that are used by
[16:54] Speaker 5: the militia. I think, well, that's kind of an interesting twist, and.
[16:58] Speaker 8: I think we're going to have a guest onlater in
[17:00] Speaker 8: the show that can probably touch on some of this.
[17:02] Speaker 5: Yeah, actually we're a scheduled we go ahead and tell
[17:04] Speaker 5: people we're gonna have Eric Pratt from the Gun Owners
[17:07] Speaker 5: of America on here. I think it's Eric's first time
[17:09] Speaker 5: on the show. We're looking forward to that. We've got
[17:11] Speaker 5: a lot to talk about that.
[17:12] Speaker 7: It's excited to have him on. It's gonna be good.
[17:13] Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly right.
[17:14] Speaker 8: So yeah, so but forced reset trigger shoot we can shooting,
[17:18] Speaker 8: I think is interesting, probably something that a lot of
[17:20] Speaker 8: us don't practice, but because it's not fun, because it's
[17:23] Speaker 8: not fun, we don't practice the stuff we don't like
[17:26] Speaker 8: to do, right, you know that's why people skip leg day.
[17:28] Speaker 7: Leg days no fun and girls get the girls and.
[17:32] Speaker 5: You know why it's not fun because we're not very
[17:33] Speaker 5: good at it because we don't practice it.
[17:35] Speaker 6: That's right.
[17:36] Speaker 8: Yeah, I know we can't shooting, though it's it actually
[17:40] Speaker 8: can be fun because it's so challenging.
[17:44] Speaker 5: Well, the other thing could happens. And you've seen this
[17:46] Speaker 5: with all the classes you got here. You get people start,
[17:49] Speaker 5: you know, take okay, we'll go shoot one handed with
[17:51] Speaker 5: your off hand, or we can if you're right hand,
[17:53] Speaker 5: you can shoot left handed.
[17:55] Speaker 6: And often the groups get better.
[17:57] Speaker 5: Yeah, because now we're really focusing on sites, we're really
[18:02] Speaker 5: focusing on trigger because it's like, I really got to
[18:05] Speaker 5: make this shot count, you know, I don't have that
[18:07] Speaker 5: other hand, and then going well look at that and
[18:10] Speaker 5: not amazing.
[18:10] Speaker 8: But if it's if you haven't done it before, you're
[18:14] Speaker 8: not gonna do it.
[18:15] Speaker 7: Well, I mean, think about it.
[18:17] Speaker 8: And they say a lot of times, if you think
[18:18] Speaker 8: about this as a defensive use thing, people get hit
[18:23] Speaker 8: in the hands, they get stabbed in the hands, they
[18:25] Speaker 8: get shot in the hands. Hands are kind of part
[18:28] Speaker 8: of the that takes the brunt of an attack a
[18:30] Speaker 8: lot of times. And so yeah, you it's very likely
[18:34] Speaker 8: that you need your off hand, your weak hand to
[18:38] Speaker 8: be able to function and do some of those things.
[18:40] Speaker 7: So it's worth practicing.
[18:41] Speaker 5: Hey, here's one that Linda called in for Reno doesn't
[18:44] Speaker 5: want to be on the air, but she was asking
[18:46] Speaker 5: she does the gun Safety Act federal law can't be
[18:49] Speaker 5: within a thousand feet of a school. What happens when
[18:52] Speaker 5: you're traveling and not familiar with where schools are located.
[18:55] Speaker 5: You want to travel through a place, but you're within
[18:57] Speaker 5: a thousand feet depends on the state, depends, but generally speaking,
[19:02] Speaker 5: if you're just traveling, you can pass right by a school.
[19:07] Speaker 5: But the whole gun free schools own thing I think
[19:10] Speaker 5: is probably unconstitutional and needs to go away.
[19:14] Speaker 8: Well, we have an interesting example of that with a
[19:16] Speaker 8: friend of ours who they had this law of this
[19:19] Speaker 8: thousand feet from a school thing, and he drew a
[19:23] Speaker 8: thousand feet from a bunch of schools that were in
[19:27] Speaker 8: his area, right, and he's like, I can't walk my dog.
[19:30] Speaker 5: There's no place you can go that's not a thousand
[19:32] Speaker 5: feet I mean because once they start doing schools, well, okay,
[19:35] Speaker 5: does that count great schools? Does account preschooled? Yes, it
[19:40] Speaker 5: does actually, And so yeah, it's a real problem. And
[19:43] Speaker 5: yet I check your loss. Like in Louisiana, the thousand
[19:48] Speaker 5: foot rule goes away.
[19:50] Speaker 6: If you have a carry permit.
[19:51] Speaker 5: Interesting, now, if you're doing constitutional carry and not have
[19:56] Speaker 5: the permit, no, the thousand feet is still there.
[19:59] Speaker 7: Another reason it's good to have a permit.
[20:02] Speaker 5: Is really good to have a permit on a lot
[20:03] Speaker 5: of different reasons exactly, and for the reciprocity and for
[20:08] Speaker 5: in a lot of states you don't have to they
[20:10] Speaker 5: don't have to call it into the FBI. When you
[20:12] Speaker 5: buy a gun, you just show your carry permit and
[20:15] Speaker 5: they could go ahead and make the sale.
[20:17] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[20:17] Speaker 8: Yeah, I always talk about traveling, and people go, but
[20:20] Speaker 8: I don't need a permit now right, I mean in Louisiana,
[20:23] Speaker 8: you don't need a permit to carry. Yeah, well you don't.
[20:26] Speaker 8: But there are advantages. There are benefits, benefits that you
[20:29] Speaker 8: get of having a permit, even in your state, even
[20:32] Speaker 8: if you're not leaving your state.
[20:33] Speaker 5: Oh you know what we probably said, get to the
[20:35] Speaker 5: thing we teased before we have hit our next break here.
[20:38] Speaker 5: I mentioned that you're doing an in run around the
[20:40] Speaker 5: censorship online. You might mention SSL.
[20:43] Speaker 8: Oh yeah, absolutely so Shooting Sports Life it's our network.
[20:46] Speaker 8: It's twenty four to seven live Shooting Sports Life is

[21:16] Speaker 8: you fire up your smart TV, which is pretty much
[21:20] Speaker 8: every TV now, you can just look up local Now
[21:23] Speaker 8: or Stir or Truth Plus.
[21:25] Speaker 6: Your streaming apps to your to.
[21:27] Speaker 8: Your TV and then you can watch free channels and
[21:29] Speaker 8: you can watch Shooting Sports Life, which is twenty four

[21:38] Speaker 5: not you're going to go pick out what you want
[21:40] Speaker 5: to see. You just turn it on and this thing
[21:43] Speaker 5: is just giving you show apter, show.
[21:44] Speaker 8: App, Sean and we and we want your support because
[21:47] Speaker 8: we're going to be doing new shows, more content covering
[21:51] Speaker 8: the shooting sports and some other really interesting ones are
[21:55] Speaker 8: in the works right now.
[21:56] Speaker 5: Yeah, we're designing some new things. So yeah, it's one
[21:58] Speaker 5: of those deals. It's free. Just go inside. You can
[22:00] Speaker 5: go to Shooting SportsLife dot com and you can see
[22:03] Speaker 5: where to sign up and you're listing all the new
[22:04] Speaker 5: stuff there yep.
[22:05] Speaker 6: Actually very good.
[22:06] Speaker 5: Oh yeah, And if you go to Range Reading Studios
[22:09] Speaker 5: dot com you can see what classes are being offered
[22:12] Speaker 5: right now. Actually, last minute you could still get in
[22:16] Speaker 5: to the there's a Diagnostic Pistol Instructor yep, which happens
[22:21] Speaker 5: this coming week. This week, one of the best classes
[22:24] Speaker 5: you could ever take if you want to become a
[22:25] Speaker 5: really good shooter. There you go, Hey, don't go far.
[22:27] Speaker 5: Gun Talk will be right back. I'm just sitting here, Rubberneck,
[22:38] Speaker 5: and I'm in the Gun Talk Studios Range Dread Studios
[22:41] Speaker 5: here at the headquarters and looking around this beautiful set
[22:45] Speaker 5: or actually there's a whole bunch of sets inside the
[22:47] Speaker 5: studio because Ryan, you do gun Talk Nation, Gun Talk Hunt.
[22:52] Speaker 5: You've got guns and gear, you got other things. And
[22:54] Speaker 5: I'm looking at some weird reasons. I started counting lights
[22:57] Speaker 5: and just like twenty twenty five lights.
[22:59] Speaker 8: I don't want to know they all call the video
[23:02] Speaker 8: guys will go. You know, I think we need a
[23:03] Speaker 8: few more lights here and going are you serious content?
[23:06] Speaker 6: Possibly a place on fire with all these lights. But
[23:09] Speaker 6: it's how you get good video.
[23:10] Speaker 8: All these lights hanging from the ceiling. It is how
[23:12] Speaker 8: you you know that is true. And you know your
[23:14] Speaker 8: photographer lighting is so that's that's one of the secrets.
[23:20] Speaker 6: It is.
[23:21] Speaker 7: They that's a really nice photo. It's the lighting.
[23:23] Speaker 5: It's the lighting. It's like, i'll take a picture of people.
[23:26] Speaker 5: How'd you get that? Said, Well, it's the light. I
[23:28] Speaker 5: always say lighting lines.
[23:30] Speaker 8: That's why I got to be here at sunrise tomorrow.
[23:32] Speaker 8: We're filming a thing, but they need good light.
[23:34] Speaker 6: Yeah, okay. So it's simple as that.
[23:37] Speaker 5: And you produce content video content about guns and shooting
[23:40] Speaker 5: and all the rest of it. You've got your other
[23:43] Speaker 5: podcast we do in initially the gun Talk Radio that
[23:46] Speaker 5: becomes a podcast gun Talk Nation, which is yours gun
[23:49] Speaker 5: Talk Hunt, which is kj's what else you got going?
[23:52] Speaker 6: You got guns of gear? We got said, here we are.
[23:54] Speaker 8: We are in the middle of filming season eighteen of
[23:57] Speaker 8: guns and Gear.
[23:58] Speaker 6: You got anything cool with that?
[23:59] Speaker 8: You know, we've actually had I mean the we've and
[24:03] Speaker 8: we've covered some of this on the show this year,
[24:05] Speaker 8: I think. But the Caldwell surface to air thrower. Oh,
[24:08] Speaker 8: how cool is this is? You know, it's funny, like
[24:11] Speaker 8: they explained, you go, that's really neat and then they
[24:14] Speaker 8: send it in and you play with it.
[24:15] Speaker 6: You go.
[24:15] Speaker 7: You call them a call box Jera Grove.
[24:18] Speaker 8: Go, dude, this thing is really cool because well, I
[24:21] Speaker 8: know we designed it.
[24:23] Speaker 5: We told you no, no, no, you didn't tell me
[24:25] Speaker 5: it was cool like that level of cool.
[24:27] Speaker 6: This is so much fun.
[24:29] Speaker 8: Okay, I think of a clay thrower, but you know,
[24:32] Speaker 8: it throws these discs and it has this app that
[24:35] Speaker 8: can control it.
[24:36] Speaker 7: And I know we're like, oh gosh, apps to control things.
[24:39] Speaker 8: But you can take a picture from like if you're
[24:42] Speaker 8: standing at the thrower, okay, and then it puts a
[24:45] Speaker 8: grid on top of the photo and you tap where
[24:50] Speaker 8: in the grid you wanted to throw.
[24:51] Speaker 6: Tap the photo where you want the target to go.
[24:54] Speaker 5: Yes, and the and the machine knows to throw it there, yes,
[24:59] Speaker 5: And you can stand there. You don't need anybody else
[25:02] Speaker 5: and you can just say launch.
[25:03] Speaker 7: You could say launch and it'll throw it.
[25:05] Speaker 8: You can tell it to do a report pair or
[25:07] Speaker 8: you can throw a double, or you can throw a single.
[25:11] Speaker 7: It's like, I'm just and it's and it's not like it's.
[25:14] Speaker 6: Like a robot thrower theme. It's amazing.
[25:17] Speaker 7: It weighs like ten pounds.
[25:19] Speaker 6: It's so much fun.
[25:20] Speaker 7: Yeah, super portable.
[25:21] Speaker 8: That was so that was something that we got in
[25:23] Speaker 8: that was that was pretty fun playing with the Eotech Voodoo.
[25:27] Speaker 8: These short scopes four to twelve. It came out with
[25:31] Speaker 8: three to nine a couple of years ago, but they
[25:33] Speaker 8: have this four to twelve.
[25:34] Speaker 7: That's very cool.
[25:36] Speaker 5: You know me, I like lightweight and small on all
[25:39] Speaker 5: my rifles and everything that I'm carrying up down these hills.
[25:41] Speaker 8: Yeah, and then of course we're we're doing stuff with silencers.
[25:45] Speaker 5: I was gonna say, yesterday, day before, I guess you
[25:48] Speaker 5: were doing something with the little nine outs titanium.
[25:52] Speaker 6: Yeah, pressure, yeah, so Jim Tech.
[25:55] Speaker 8: Yeah, Jim Tech's doing stuff, dead airs, doing stuff silent steel.
[26:00] Speaker 8: So it's just a lot of a lot of technology happen. Surefire,
[26:05] Speaker 8: surefire suppressors.
[26:06] Speaker 6: Right.
[26:07] Speaker 8: Just it's really impressive when you really get down to it.
[26:11] Speaker 6: I didn't want to forget.
[26:12] Speaker 5: We want to jump back because when we had London
[26:14] Speaker 5: call asking about the gun free zones, and we should
[26:18] Speaker 5: have mentioned there's a really good place you can go handgun.
[26:20] Speaker 6: Law dot Us.
[26:21] Speaker 5: It's a website and if as you're traveling through the country,
[26:24] Speaker 5: you go look at the particular state you're going to
[26:27] Speaker 5: be in and it will tell you what the laws
[26:29] Speaker 5: are there, and you can say, Okay, can I go
[26:31] Speaker 5: into a bar with my gun?
[26:34] Speaker 6: You know?
[26:35] Speaker 5: Can I not does a sign on the door that
[26:38] Speaker 5: says no guns have the weight of law? Or can
[26:40] Speaker 5: I go in? You know, it just depends, and it's
[26:42] Speaker 5: state to state, and unfortunately this varies as you go around,
[26:47] Speaker 5: so you just it's up to us to be informed.
[26:50] Speaker 5: Simple as that. Oh, we're mentioning legal stuff having built
[26:55] Speaker 5: reintroduced into Congress to ban suppressors, not just ban this
[27:00] Speaker 5: sale of them, to ban the possession of them, which
[27:03] Speaker 5: means confiscating all suppressures owned by people. And the Democrats
[27:08] Speaker 5: are pushing this bill to ban the ownership to confiscate suppressors.
[27:13] Speaker 8: I mean, come on now, we are very very very
[27:16] Speaker 8: much in common use on this at this point.
[27:19] Speaker 6: We're millions or maybe potential.
[27:21] Speaker 8: Also just absurdity because they're still working on this hole.
[27:25] Speaker 8: I saw this in a movie once where the guy
[27:27] Speaker 8: goes pew like, stop it. Assassins aren't using these things,
[27:32] Speaker 8: Gang bangards and terrorists aren't using them. These are these
[27:35] Speaker 8: are literally safety devices that you put on a gun
[27:39] Speaker 8: to make it less louder.
[27:42] Speaker 5: We're rapidly reaching or maybe have reached the point where
[27:48] Speaker 5: it's considered rude at arranged to not have a suppressor.
[27:51] Speaker 6: Yes, we'll just about there now.
[27:54] Speaker 8: But I don't know what their angle is because I
[27:56] Speaker 8: don't I don't know if they've you know, maybe they
[27:58] Speaker 8: don't care.
[28:00] Speaker 7: It doesn't seem like something that could pass. Well it doesn't.
[28:03] Speaker 5: But you know, I will tell you if you and
[28:07] Speaker 5: we've seen this on the state level. If you introduce
[28:09] Speaker 5: a bill and you think, okay, it's not going to pass,
[28:10] Speaker 5: but you do it for ten years in a row,
[28:12] Speaker 5: people keep hearing about it, and more and more people think, oh, yeah,
[28:15] Speaker 5: I've been hearing about that. That sounds sounds reasonable, that
[28:17] Speaker 5: doesn't sound too bad, and they just beat you down
[28:20] Speaker 5: and they can eventually get stuff like that passed.
[28:23] Speaker 8: And they'll do the like the negotiation thing of well
[28:26] Speaker 8: come on, you didn't let us have it before.
[28:28] Speaker 7: I'm like, and I'm never going to let you have it.
[28:29] Speaker 6: Right.
[28:30] Speaker 8: It isn't like, oh, well, five years in a row,
[28:32] Speaker 8: you didn't let us have this. Well you can keep
[28:34] Speaker 8: going to infinity.
[28:35] Speaker 5: But they say, well, can't you just be reasonable to
[28:37] Speaker 5: meet us a little bit like part way on this one?
[28:39] Speaker 5: Can we just maybe just stop the sail up. We're
[28:41] Speaker 5: not going to confiscate them, yeah, which always means now
[28:44] Speaker 5: we're not going to confiscate. We'll just stopped the sail up.
[28:46] Speaker 5: We're just cut it off now and those that have
[28:48] Speaker 5: them can go ahead and keep those.
[28:49] Speaker 8: Why would you, why would you compromise on something that
[28:53] Speaker 8: is a complete violation of your rights?
[28:55] Speaker 6: Exactly?
[28:56] Speaker 5: Never ever, ever, you know, never give up any of it,
[28:59] Speaker 5: and you got to fight to start getting it back.
[29:01] Speaker 5: We are getting things back the man. It is tough,
[29:05] Speaker 5: and as we have one more on the federal level,
[29:09] Speaker 5: the states, the battle from the gun band lobby and
[29:12] Speaker 5: the gun ban industry. They've taken it to the states
[29:15] Speaker 5: to get stuff done there. So now we're having to
[29:17] Speaker 5: fight it not just in Congress, but like in a
[29:20] Speaker 5: dozen or more states, and it's an expensive battle.
[29:24] Speaker 8: Well, something we were talking about recently is something that's
[29:29] Speaker 8: changed is a lot of these gun right scripts are
[29:32] Speaker 8: working together now because they have to.
[29:35] Speaker 5: Yes, and yeah, they're making their dollars go farther by
[29:38] Speaker 5: working together. So you'll have Secondman Foundation, Gunners of America,
[29:42] Speaker 5: Fire's Policy Coalition, NRA, NSSF all going in on one
[29:46] Speaker 5: lawsuit so they can help pay for the lawyers. Hey,
[29:50] Speaker 5: we got a call here. We got a range report
[29:51] Speaker 5: coming in here. I believe way of aer Rock is
[29:54] Speaker 5: his name out of Tremont, Utah.
[29:57] Speaker 6: I've been there. Hey Errock, you're on the air.
[30:01] Speaker 12: Hey Tom, thanks for taking my call.
[30:03] Speaker 7: Sure what you got Well.
[30:05] Speaker 12: A while back, I was looking for a concealed carry
[30:07] Speaker 12: gun and I was pretty pretty low on the budget,
[30:10] Speaker 12: so I picked up a Tarus G three C and
[30:13] Speaker 12: I've bet over a thousand rounds through it, and I've
[30:16] Speaker 12: been very impressed with the way that it's handled, particularly
[30:20] Speaker 12: for how cheap of a gun it was. But right,
[30:23] Speaker 12: it's been really great. I haven't had a single malfunction
[30:25] Speaker 12: through it. I had one, but it was user induced
[30:27] Speaker 12: and I've been pretty happy with it.
[30:30] Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think the Taurus up today is not
[30:32] Speaker 5: the Taurus of a generation ago there. I mean, and
[30:36] Speaker 5: you see this Ryan, you get all the stuff.
[30:38] Speaker 8: Yeah, And they're and they're also just not only more dependable,
[30:41] Speaker 8: but just the design is better. They're just I was
[30:44] Speaker 8: we were shooting the G three with Taurus here a
[30:48] Speaker 8: couple weeks ago, and that's one of the comments we said, God,
[30:51] Speaker 8: the thing's ergonomic. It's used to be kind of like
[30:54] Speaker 8: you could buy a less expensive gun, but it just
[30:57] Speaker 8: wasn't aesthetically pleasing, kind of felt like a brick. Why
[31:01] Speaker 8: did What were the guns that you were looking at? Like,
[31:03] Speaker 8: what were the ones that you were trying to decide between?
[31:07] Speaker 12: Well, I really wanted to get a glock, but it
[31:10] Speaker 12: was just a little bit out of my price range,
[31:12] Speaker 12: and so I was trying to find something that would
[31:14] Speaker 12: still be reliable, but you know, be under the three
[31:17] Speaker 12: hundred dollars range. So that's why I picked up on
[31:20] Speaker 12: that one.
[31:21] Speaker 8: And that and that enabled him to go buy a
[31:23] Speaker 8: thousand rounds of amboor.
[31:27] Speaker 5: Or maybe to pick up a Rock Island armory twenty eleven.
[31:32] Speaker 12: Yeah, yep, I picked up one of those. And I've
[31:35] Speaker 12: never I've never shot a nineteen eleven style pistol. I've
[31:38] Speaker 12: never you know, been against your forum. But it was
[31:42] Speaker 12: in ten milimeter and I went out and shot at
[31:44] Speaker 12: a couple of weeks back, just to box through it.
[31:46] Speaker 12: I'll tell you what, I think. I'm converted.
[31:49] Speaker 5: Oh boy, another one, we got another one.
[31:52] Speaker 7: Here, got him, got him.
[31:54] Speaker 12: I've been changed, you know.
[31:56] Speaker 6: It is true.
[31:57] Speaker 5: So like everybody goes, yeah, what's the big deal? You
[31:58] Speaker 5: you guys are alwaysalking about nineteen eleven and yeah, off,
[32:02] Speaker 5: we say, look just here, take this gun, shoot this gun,
[32:06] Speaker 5: and it takes a couple of magazines. They're going, huh, isn't.
[32:10] Speaker 8: It funny how the nineteen eleven has been around since,
[32:13] Speaker 8: you know, nineteen eleven, and it's it's kind of all
[32:17] Speaker 8: of a sudden popular again. It is, I think partly
[32:19] Speaker 8: because of these double stacked nineteen elevens, I mean kind
[32:22] Speaker 8: of sexy and people were posting online because they're easy
[32:25] Speaker 8: to shoot and you look good doing it too, if
[32:29] Speaker 8: you hadn't shot at nineteen eleven before. What was the
[32:32] Speaker 8: trickiest part of learning that particular gun?
[32:37] Speaker 12: Honestly, there's nothing tricky about it. It was fun to shoot.
[32:40] Speaker 12: I had a smile on my face the whole time,
[32:42] Speaker 12: and you know, I'm looking at getting one for my
[32:45] Speaker 12: next carry gun.
[32:46] Speaker 6: So so all right, why did you go with ten milimeter?
[32:50] Speaker 12: Well, that's that's just what I what I came upon.
[32:53] Speaker 12: The guy had it and had some issues with it.
[32:55] Speaker 12: I got it fixed up and working good.
[32:57] Speaker 5: So well, and here's the thing, and we're doing the
[33:01] Speaker 5: same thing Ryan that we've said we were going to
[33:03] Speaker 5: call people out on which is we're trying. We're asking
[33:07] Speaker 5: you to justify why did you get this? Why did
[33:11] Speaker 5: you get that? And our theme for today is going
[33:14] Speaker 5: to be you don't need to justify to anybody online
[33:18] Speaker 5: or any other place why you bought it. You just
[33:21] Speaker 5: liked it, Eric, I mean, you just like this gun,
[33:23] Speaker 5: and you've bought it and now you're really enjoyed shooting it. Absolutely,
[33:29] Speaker 5: So what's next another nineteen eleven?
[33:32] Speaker 12: Well, as soon as I get the money, you bet.
[33:35] Speaker 5: Oh that's nothing, you know. That's why we have credit cards.
[33:38] Speaker 5: Run those builds up.
[33:39] Speaker 4: Man.
[33:41] Speaker 8: This is not financial advisor advice here.
[33:45] Speaker 6: It's not because I will run you into the poorhouse.
[33:47] Speaker 6: On guns. Hey, thank you so much for the call.
[33:51] Speaker 6: I appreciate that.
[33:52] Speaker 5: That's great first time, and that's interesting for your first
[33:56] Speaker 5: nineteen eleven he gets to twenty eleven and ten milimeter.
[33:59] Speaker 6: Yeah, probably not that common.
[34:01] Speaker 8: Well, and it sounded like you said the guy who
[34:04] Speaker 8: had an issue with it and he got it fixed.
[34:07] Speaker 8: I will say this, if you're having an issue with
[34:09] Speaker 8: a gun, well, we just talked about maybe cleaning it
[34:12] Speaker 8: and lubing it is one of the tricks. Also, try
[34:15] Speaker 8: different AMMO depending on what you're and ten. There's a
[34:20] Speaker 8: wide variety of ten millimeters ammo out there. I mean
[34:23] Speaker 8: he could have been shooting wide hollow points or hardcast bullets,
[34:26] Speaker 8: or who knows what. Try different, ammo and see what
[34:30] Speaker 8: your gun likes is another tip for you.
[34:32] Speaker 5: And I'm you know, always I tend to forget. Is
[34:35] Speaker 5: it odd years or even years that we're supposed to
[34:38] Speaker 5: clean these guns?
[34:40] Speaker 7: I just sent them back. Hey, Taurus, take this back.
[34:43] Speaker 6: That's right?
[34:43] Speaker 7: This is it's dirty now, I don't know that's right.
[34:47] Speaker 6: You sent me this gun. It got dirty. I don't understand.
[34:49] Speaker 5: That's the thing, right, Put it in the dishwasher, in
[34:52] Speaker 5: these plastic fantastics. You probably could actually take it apart.
[34:56] Speaker 5: Put it on the top rack of your dishwasher.
[34:58] Speaker 7: That sounds like something we should do with for like
[35:00] Speaker 7: a YouTube video.
[35:01] Speaker 5: Yeah, and your wife would love the fact that now
[35:03] Speaker 5: you have gun grease all inside this dish didn't You used.
[35:06] Speaker 7: To do lead bullets with.
[35:09] Speaker 6: Your That's a story that I'm still in trouble about.
[35:12] Speaker 7: Yeah, something about a kitchen ladle.
[35:14] Speaker 5: My wife's lovely kitchen lagle that she likes so much.
[35:16] Speaker 5: And I used to scoop the top of the lead
[35:19] Speaker 5: off when I was casting bullets because I couldn't find
[35:21] Speaker 5: a big spoon and that was only, like, I don't know,
[35:25] Speaker 5: forty five years ago.
[35:26] Speaker 6: She's still mad about that.
[35:28] Speaker 7: Just wash it off. Just let it's just led.
[35:30] Speaker 6: What's the big deal.
[35:33] Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay, we don't we don't bring that up, that offense.
[35:37] Speaker 5: So it's uh. Back when I was casting lead bullets,
[35:40] Speaker 5: which was fun, by the way, I enjoyed that. It's
[35:42] Speaker 5: I don't do it anymore.
[35:44] Speaker 7: When didn't did you have to like go find you know, old.
[35:47] Speaker 5: Like wheelweights, wheelweights, Yeah, from cars, which are harder to find.
[35:51] Speaker 6: Now you can you can buy lead.
[35:53] Speaker 7: Uh.
[35:53] Speaker 6: The one thing you can do is you can it's
[35:56] Speaker 6: like all sorts of handloading.
[35:57] Speaker 5: You can make your own bullets that are not available
[36:01] Speaker 5: generally speaking, you know, you can cast your own bullets.
[36:05] Speaker 5: And besides that, you know, it's just kind of fun
[36:08] Speaker 5: to do all that stuff and going, hey man, I'm
[36:10] Speaker 5: making bullets a melting lead.
[36:11] Speaker 8: Would that going to that prepper talk we were having earlier, Yeah,
[36:16] Speaker 8: if you're going to be a prepper, yeah, maybe have
[36:19] Speaker 8: some some bullet making sure supplies.
[36:25] Speaker 5: Or put in a supply of you know, ten thousand
[36:27] Speaker 5: or in some case one hundred thousand. But then we
[36:31] Speaker 5: have a buddy, and it's our local lawyer machine gun
[36:34] Speaker 5: dealer buddy.
[36:35] Speaker 6: He said, yeah.
[36:36] Speaker 5: He says, I got a friend who he's got a
[36:39] Speaker 5: million rounds of twenty two em fire. I said, I
[36:42] Speaker 5: said a million. He says, yes, he has a million rounds.
[36:46] Speaker 5: I said, Okay, what's the story? He said, real simple,
[36:49] Speaker 5: he said, I don't care what happens. My grandchildren are
[36:53] Speaker 5: never not going to have twenty two ammow Okay, at
[36:58] Speaker 5: least with twenty two, it's not as big a deal
[37:01] Speaker 5: of storing it, you know.
[37:02] Speaker 8: I mean, we know gun companies go through a billion
[37:05] Speaker 8: rounds a month or whatever testing guns, billion rounds a week.
[37:08] Speaker 8: Maybe so, But I mean, how if you really said
[37:11] Speaker 8: let's let's burn through this supply, I mean, how could you?
[37:16] Speaker 6: I mean yeah, right, first, you need an FRT, right.
[37:20] Speaker 8: You need an FRT. That would be helpful us right
[37:22] Speaker 8: back there. You need to go back back to the
[37:23] Speaker 8: Taurus t X twenty two, which there is an f RT.
[37:26] Speaker 6: There's a good story there.
[37:28] Speaker 5: I'm saying, there's an FRT for it, and Torres is
[37:31] Speaker 5: saying the FRT has helped sell the gun.
[37:34] Speaker 7: Yep, yep, right, Force reset trigger.
[37:36] Speaker 5: We're talking about, which helps a gun go faster, or
[37:39] Speaker 5: some say it makes a full auto. It doesn't technically
[37:42] Speaker 5: make it go fall auto, but it shoots almost as
[37:44] Speaker 5: fast as full auto shoots pretty fast, which makes it
[37:47] Speaker 5: fun to shoot, which means basically, I'll buy the gun
[37:51] Speaker 5: as an accessory for the FRT.
[37:53] Speaker 8: Well, and that makes sense, Like at twenty two you
[37:56] Speaker 8: can kind of almost afford to feed that thing if
[37:59] Speaker 8: you're burning through mags or burning through hundreds of rounds.
[38:03] Speaker 8: Tough to do when it's five five six that is,
[38:06] Speaker 8: you know, fifty or sixty or seventy cents around. Yeah,
[38:10] Speaker 8: you mag dump a gun and it's fifteen dollars in
[38:13] Speaker 8: three seconds.
[38:15] Speaker 5: Okay, so here here I love this. I think it
[38:16] Speaker 5: was New York. I just saw this on Bearing Arms.
[38:18] Speaker 5: Cam Everard's place where I think it was New York
[38:21] Speaker 5: said they're going to ban air guns BB guns and
[38:26] Speaker 5: just coincidentally, I think coincidentally, at the same time, Crossman
[38:29] Speaker 5: came out with a full auto M sixteen air gun,
[38:33] Speaker 5: which of course it can't go full auto.
[38:35] Speaker 6: And an air gun and that's yeah, totally illegal, you know.
[38:37] Speaker 5: So this thing looks like a machine gun functions like
[38:40] Speaker 5: a machine gun and it's perfectly illegal. Said, oh, you
[38:43] Speaker 5: got to ban BB guns. Here, take a look at
[38:46] Speaker 5: this one.
[38:46] Speaker 7: Yeah, it's very cool.
[38:47] Speaker 8: And hey, if you want to play around with machine guns,
[38:50] Speaker 8: go get a full auto BB gun.
[38:52] Speaker 5: Yes, it's so much fun and you can actually afford
[38:55] Speaker 5: to shoot them, unlike real machine guns, which have cost
[38:58] Speaker 5: a lot to feed.
[38:59] Speaker 7: Yeah, handed a lot of a lot to buy.
[39:01] Speaker 5: It's a lot to buy, it is. It costs a
[39:02] Speaker 5: lot to buy them. Maybe we can get rid of
[39:04] Speaker 5: some of those laws as well. All right, everybody, give
[39:06] Speaker 5: you a call eight to sixty six talk gun. That'll
[39:08] Speaker 5: get you in here. I'm Tom Gresham. We're visiting with
[39:10] Speaker 5: Ryan Gresham. We're here at the headquarters of gun Talk
[39:14] Speaker 5: down in Louisiana. Check it out at range Ready Studios
[39:17] Speaker 5: dot com.
[39:18] Speaker 6: We'll be right back.
[39:26] Speaker 7: All right.
[39:27] Speaker 5: We're answered some of the questions we're getting over on
[39:29] Speaker 5: X right now. If you want to visit over there,
[39:30] Speaker 5: if you've got to comment or a question you want
[39:32] Speaker 5: to throw throw down, just go to X. I am
[39:35] Speaker 5: at gun Talk there x dot com. And one said, uh,
[39:39] Speaker 5: what do you suggest for improving grip strength? And the
[39:43] Speaker 5: idea being that we're shooting handguns. The stronger you grip,
[39:47] Speaker 5: the better you are able to control recoil, right, And.
[39:50] Speaker 7: There's some truth to that.
[39:51] Speaker 8: I mean, when you get coached up by some good instructors,
[39:57] Speaker 8: they want you to grip the gun tightly. They want
[40:00] Speaker 8: you to really. I think one of the things Chris
[40:03] Speaker 8: says is hard hands. Have hard hands. Don't let this
[40:07] Speaker 8: gun wiggle around in your grip. And when you I
[40:10] Speaker 8: mean I meet a lot of guys who are top
[40:13] Speaker 8: level pistol shooters.
[40:15] Speaker 7: They have a very strong handshake, yes, and.
[40:18] Speaker 6: Then you cannot, I mean, and you can literally.
[40:20] Speaker 5: You know those those squeeze things you get for hand exercise,
[40:24] Speaker 5: either the ones where you've got the individual finger to control,
[40:27] Speaker 5: or the spring ones or even those squeeze balls.
[40:31] Speaker 8: Absolutely, yeah, yeah, those hand strengthening devices.
[40:35] Speaker 7: I have one or two in my office.
[40:37] Speaker 5: I just just have it where you watch TV where
[40:39] Speaker 5: you didn't work in a car.
[40:41] Speaker 7: I mean in grip strength.
[40:42] Speaker 8: Yes, it will definitely help your handgun shooting.
[40:46] Speaker 7: It's good for a lot of things.
[40:47] Speaker 8: I mean, there's some kind of measurement about grip strength
[40:50] Speaker 8: and like life longevity.
[40:52] Speaker 7: Really, yes, yes.
[40:54] Speaker 5: That's interesting, you know, and one of the things that
[40:56] Speaker 5: a lot of people do, and I think as a
[40:58] Speaker 5: factor of grip strength is they re grip after each shot.
[41:01] Speaker 5: We see it all the time, especially if I'm shooting
[41:04] Speaker 5: video and I'm watching, then the hand comes off, comes
[41:06] Speaker 5: back on, you shoot, and then you regrip. You shoot
[41:09] Speaker 5: your slightly regrip, and you cannot shoot fast if you're
[41:13] Speaker 5: doing that.
[41:13] Speaker 8: If you're resetting your grip every time, you just can't. Yeah,
[41:17] Speaker 8: you want to, you want to. And also other things
[41:19] Speaker 8: is like if you have a very strong grip, yes
[41:23] Speaker 8: you're going to be able to hold the gun and recoil.
[41:26] Speaker 8: But also what you can tighten certain things on your grip,
[41:31] Speaker 8: like your pinky fingers, which aren't necessarily your strongest fingers.
[41:35] Speaker 8: Usually that's a great way to bring the front of
[41:38] Speaker 8: if you think about restraint, front site down, front site down,
[41:41] Speaker 8: and a lot of times helps you find a red
[41:44] Speaker 8: dot faster.
[41:45] Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, if you can push in on that pinky finger,
[41:49] Speaker 5: it will help you pick up the red dot. So yeah,
[41:51] Speaker 5: it's a great point, you know. And also you can
[41:53] Speaker 5: try different things. It's like when I was out here
[41:55] Speaker 5: shooting in the diagnostic Pistil instructor class. Now shooting left
[41:59] Speaker 5: not left not a trigger thing, and I was trying
[42:02] Speaker 5: to figure out what was going on. And one of
[42:03] Speaker 5: your really good instructors, one of these young guys here, says,
[42:07] Speaker 5: just press in with your left thumb on the slide
[42:10] Speaker 5: or on the side of the frame. I went, what says, Yeah,
[42:13] Speaker 5: I just press in and I just basically increases my
[42:16] Speaker 5: pressure with that left hand. Did that all of a sudden,
[42:19] Speaker 5: that thing a target just right in the middle. All
[42:23] Speaker 5: the shots are right where they're supposed to be. And went,
[42:26] Speaker 5: I would not have come up with that by myself,
[42:28] Speaker 5: which goes to the whole idea of this is why
[42:30] Speaker 5: we go get training.
[42:31] Speaker 8: That's why you go get trained. You don't know you're
[42:33] Speaker 8: doing it, you're regripping or whatever it is. I mean,
[42:37] Speaker 8: it's just you have to go get somebody else to
[42:40] Speaker 8: look at what you're doing.
[42:42] Speaker 5: And look, here's the reality. If you're not getting training,
[42:48] Speaker 5: you're not as good as you think you are, and
[42:50] Speaker 5: you're not getting any better. You know, you said, but
[42:53] Speaker 5: I practiced a lot, so what really it doesn't matter.
[42:56] Speaker 8: We were talking about this with I was out at Covey
[42:59] Speaker 8: Rise and talking to the guy out there.
[43:00] Speaker 7: They got shooting.
[43:01] Speaker 8: The instructors pros right and he says, there's the guys
[43:04] Speaker 8: who come out here every Friday and they have their
[43:06] Speaker 8: little squad that shoots sporting clays and they always they
[43:09] Speaker 8: shoot well or poorly or whatever, but they don't actually
[43:13] Speaker 8: go practice.
[43:14] Speaker 7: They don't get any training, and they don't improve.
[43:17] Speaker 8: Yes, it's like just going to play golf instead of
[43:19] Speaker 8: actually getting a golf lesson.
[43:20] Speaker 6: They're having fun, but they're not getting any better. Yeah,
[43:22] Speaker 6: there you go. Right. I want to thank you.
[43:24] Speaker 5: I know you've got a scoots, but I appreciate you
[43:26] Speaker 5: joining us for this hour and letting us hang out
[43:28] Speaker 5: in your place here.
[43:29] Speaker 8: Absolutely, thanks for having me on. And I'm glad you're here.
[43:32] Speaker 6: This is fun.
[43:33] Speaker 5: And I would just say next hour is all open line,
