[0:48] Speaker 4: Jim for the Gun Talk After Show.
[0:53] Speaker 5: All right, Jim steps, we're ready to do the show.
[0:54] Speaker 5: But I'm really not so sure about that.
[0:58] Speaker 4: He might be ready, Huh.
[1:00] Speaker 5: Anybody who's listen to us says, those people just aren't
[1:02] Speaker 5: really ready for pride metaphorically speaking. No, no, no, that's right,
[1:07] Speaker 5: but you're you're gonna record it anyway. So we got
[1:09] Speaker 5: Michelle Cleven, Jim Kinzie. There let's stay after show. Hi, guys,
[1:13] Speaker 5: fun show today we got Jamies Williams and Jack Carr.
[1:17] Speaker 5: But that's fun stuff right there.
[1:20] Speaker 4: She was so excited.
[1:21] Speaker 3: She's such a good spokesperson for our industry.
[1:24] Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
[1:25] Speaker 5: She though she's just I mean, I hate to even
[1:29] Speaker 5: use the word, but she's bubbly.
[1:31] Speaker 4: She's very much so she yes, yes.
[1:35] Speaker 5: It's just like she's a twenty one year old who
[1:38] Speaker 5: has more experience than most.
[1:41] Speaker 6: I said, Yeah, she's wade to look up her age
[1:42] Speaker 6: because I didn't know.
[1:43] Speaker 5: I said.
[1:43] Speaker 6: The tone of her voice, just the timbore of it is,
[1:46] Speaker 6: sounds like she's fourteen years old. Yeah, the content she's
[1:49] Speaker 6: giving sounds like she's forty years old.
[1:51] Speaker 4: The vocabulary doesn't match. Yeah, the voice.
[1:53] Speaker 6: No, But I bet you she was sharp when she
[1:56] Speaker 6: was fourteen.
[1:56] Speaker 4: Probably well she was.
[1:58] Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Well I'm fairly sure. They're homeschooled and they
[2:03] Speaker 5: have really sharp parents, and they grew up quite frankly,
[2:08] Speaker 5: more advanced than a lot of kids their age. How
[2:11] Speaker 5: about that.
[2:12] Speaker 7: So there's that hey, speaker Tom, Yeah, yeah, speaker of Tom.
[2:16] Speaker 5: Let's grab the other Tom. Actually yet another two today?
[2:20] Speaker 5: We have our own Tom. That's right, in Fargo. Hey, Tom,
[2:23] Speaker 5: thanks for your patients.
[2:25] Speaker 8: Hey absolutely so Tom. You you have mentioned last week
[2:34] Speaker 8: about a door dasher getting carjacked because he had cash,
[2:38] Speaker 8: and I was going to call in that most most
[2:41] Speaker 8: door dashers, nine of us and I used to do
[2:45] Speaker 8: door dash don't carry cash, just for the reasons you mentioned.
[2:49] Speaker 8: Because suddenly you're a targets and so I was going
[2:55] Speaker 8: to say, I was going to say that, and then
[2:57] Speaker 8: I was going to say, also, I would love to carry,
[3:00] Speaker 8: but I can't. The reason is I go into every
[3:04] Speaker 8: single type. I go into hospital, churches, police station, you
[3:08] Speaker 8: name it. I go into every single place and deliver food.
[3:12] Speaker 8: I would be constantly taking the gun in out, in out.
[3:16] Speaker 8: So I don't even carry gun safe but I am.
[3:19] Speaker 8: But I am very aware of my situational a situation awareness.
[3:25] Speaker 8: Look at always looking, see what people are doing, how
[3:28] Speaker 8: they're doing it. Yeah, yeah, I'm doing that, you know.
[3:33] Speaker 5: And look let me let me jump in here because
[3:35] Speaker 5: I think maybe I understand what you're saying is that
[3:38] Speaker 5: you don't carry cash, but a carjacker or a robber
[3:41] Speaker 5: may not be aware of that. I remember a cop
[3:43] Speaker 5: one time, I broke it into a car and we
[3:46] Speaker 5: were asking, well, you know, why do they do that?
[3:47] Speaker 5: He says, there's no why. They're crackheads. They don't think
[3:50] Speaker 5: about that stuff. So in this case, it's like you think, well,
[3:53] Speaker 5: everybody knows we don't carry cash. Well no, maybe not.
[3:56] Speaker 5: Maybe they're just crackheads they don't know.
[3:57] Speaker 8: Point. Yeah, that's real good point. Yes, well we can't
[4:02] Speaker 8: can't get down all the way down to their level,
[4:05] Speaker 8: and so since we're not down there, we don't think.
[4:08] Speaker 8: Well they don't think, so, yeah, we can't think like them.
[4:11] Speaker 8: And because they so, do you not?
[4:13] Speaker 6: Do you not carry?
[4:14] Speaker 8: Time?
[4:15] Speaker 5: No?
[4:16] Speaker 8: I would sure love to, and I'd love to quit
[4:18] Speaker 8: what I'm doing because my wife and I would both
[4:20] Speaker 8: like to carry. We really would, but we don't. We've
[4:24] Speaker 8: got the handguns to do it. We've got a good
[4:27] Speaker 8: place to train. There's in fact, this summer we're going
[4:31] Speaker 8: to shoot with an sere instructor and he's with the
[4:38] Speaker 8: Air Force and he's the only one licensed in the
[4:41] Speaker 8: state of North Dakota. He's Air Force. He's been certified
[4:46] Speaker 8: since nineteen seventy nine with the Air Force.
[4:49] Speaker 5: Yeah, instructor, they know stuff I have. I took a
[4:53] Speaker 5: class with a seer instructor, but wasn't firearms. It was wiarness,
[4:57] Speaker 5: medicine and survival and it was fascinating.
[5:00] Speaker 8: That's what this guy does all the time. He and
[5:03] Speaker 8: he has two businesses. But he's also running for US
[5:06] Speaker 8: Congress out of North Dakota right now. He's running for
[5:09] Speaker 8: Congress excellently. But one last thing, So on your and
[5:12] Speaker 8: you said you were doing a shooting on a range
[5:15] Speaker 8: and there was unbeknownst to you, there was another group
[5:19] Speaker 8: came along as you had gone down down to the
[5:22] Speaker 8: down to the end to change your targets and they
[5:25] Speaker 8: started shooting. Now you said they were about thirty forty
[5:28] Speaker 8: yards away, which is still way too close. And is
[5:32] Speaker 8: there a range officer on duty at that range at
[5:36] Speaker 8: that time?
[5:36] Speaker 5: No, No, this is just a public range where you
[5:39] Speaker 5: go show up and shoot. There's nobody operating it. That
[5:43] Speaker 5: it's an outdoor range. People come and go. You basically
[5:47] Speaker 5: have to look down the line and you all agree, okay,
[5:49] Speaker 5: it's safe, lines cleared, we'll all go down and then
[5:52] Speaker 5: you come back. There's a red flag you could put out,
[5:54] Speaker 5: but I wouldn't trust no life to the red flag either.
[5:57] Speaker 4: And there's no lanes, no, no, yeah.
[6:01] Speaker 5: Okay, No, it's just the words. It's one. It's a
[6:05] Speaker 5: half step beyond being a pasture with a berm.
[6:12] Speaker 3: I was just wondering if there was a way that
[6:13] Speaker 3: they could have seen you, Like, did they not see you?
[6:16] Speaker 4: Did they not look?
[6:17] Speaker 5: They didn't see me, didn't look. I mean I was
[6:20] Speaker 5: like right in front of them. Just like imagine if
[6:23] Speaker 5: you were like six or seven lanes over on an
[6:26] Speaker 5: outdoor range, target is over, you're going Yeah, you know,
[6:31] Speaker 5: I didn't have all my bright blaze orange vest, which
[6:34] Speaker 5: probably wouldn't be a bad idea to wear a place
[6:36] Speaker 5: like that, frankly, but you know, and I freely admit
[6:40] Speaker 5: part of it was me. I didn't h I thought
[6:43] Speaker 5: they had seen me, but I didn't consciously say okay, guys,
[6:47] Speaker 5: I'm going to go down. We just all went down
[6:49] Speaker 5: at the same time, and then they came back and
[6:52] Speaker 5: started shooting, just completely unaware that I had walked down
[6:56] Speaker 5: to change targets. When they did.
[6:58] Speaker 6: Oh okay, I thought they showed up after you had
[7:00] Speaker 6: walked down range.
[7:02] Speaker 5: No, I may have misstated that, yeah, they were shooting.
[7:04] Speaker 5: I waited until they took a break to go put turists.
[7:07] Speaker 5: We all walked down and then they walked back and
[7:09] Speaker 5: started shooting, and they just missed the fact that there
[7:12] Speaker 5: was somebody else walking down you know, the twenty yards
[7:15] Speaker 5: to their left over there.
[7:16] Speaker 7: You didn't shoot back, did you tell me? I actually
[7:20] Speaker 7: gave it some thought. I actually gave it. Well, what
[7:24] Speaker 7: I thought was, I'm going to put one over the
[7:26] Speaker 7: top of the shed where they are, just because I mean,
[7:30] Speaker 7: I'm walking down there and I'm shooting a rifle with
[7:32] Speaker 7: the range, but I'm obviously carrying a handgun. And I thought,
[7:35] Speaker 7: how am I going to get these guys attention? Because
[7:38] Speaker 7: they're shooting a lot.
[7:38] Speaker 5: I said, bang bang bang bang bang bang, bouncing, you know,
[7:42] Speaker 5: bullets off the ground, kicking up dust, and all I thought,
[7:46] Speaker 5: you're probably just you know, listening to one right over
[7:48] Speaker 5: the top of the Now I'm there right ye through
[7:52] Speaker 5: my head very briefly, and I rejected that idea.
[7:56] Speaker 3: And I you know, sometimes people get so tunnel visioned
[7:59] Speaker 3: and what they're doing driving shooting, you know, they get
[8:03] Speaker 3: excited about coming back and forth and just you know,
[8:06] Speaker 3: carrying on with their training, not paying attention. Perhaps, right, Yeah,
[8:10] Speaker 3: so you can kind of understand it. That doesn't make
[8:13] Speaker 3: it okay, but it doesn't.
[8:15] Speaker 5: But also I take it back to me. It's like, okay,
[8:17] Speaker 5: I'm not going to put it all.
[8:19] Speaker 4: On them, right.
[8:20] Speaker 5: I should have made contact and said, hey, guys, I'm
[8:24] Speaker 5: going to go down here too. They go okay, and
[8:26] Speaker 5: that would have been the end.
[8:27] Speaker 6: Of it, no problem.
[8:29] Speaker 3: But they didn't look over to their side to see
[8:31] Speaker 3: whether or not you were standing there, or to know
[8:33] Speaker 3: if you went back to your car or were you
[8:34] Speaker 3: down range.
[8:36] Speaker 5: Yeah, we all screwed up on that day, and me unfortunately,
[8:39] Speaker 5: we all came home with that extra holes and yep,
[8:42] Speaker 5: it was okay, But it's one of those I filed
[8:45] Speaker 5: that one away and I want to share it with
[8:46] Speaker 5: people because it's like, how could that possibly happen? Well,
[8:50] Speaker 5: it happened, right now, let the in life. How did
[8:52] Speaker 5: it happen? What can I do differently? I can't change
[8:54] Speaker 5: their behavior, right, I can only change mine.
[8:56] Speaker 3: Right and learn and learn from it.
[9:00] Speaker 4: Do you have a question for our Tom and Fargo there?
[9:04] Speaker 7: Tom?
[9:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, because it seems I get that you don't want
[9:09] Speaker 3: to have to take it on and off all the time,
[9:11] Speaker 3: but just having it in the car. Isn't there a
[9:14] Speaker 3: peace of mind that comes with just having the handgun?
[9:18] Speaker 4: In the car where something.
[9:19] Speaker 6: Happens on the way too, Yeah to stop.
[9:22] Speaker 8: Really good point. That is an excellent, excellent point. And
[9:25] Speaker 8: I have just a cubby hole in the middle of
[9:27] Speaker 8: my ole. Shouldn't have said that, but I have a
[9:33] Speaker 8: plate number exactly.
[9:36] Speaker 6: I think we have that many crackhead listeners.
[9:38] Speaker 3: I think you're okay, there's probably more than one Tom
[9:40] Speaker 3: and Fargo.
[9:43] Speaker 8: As long as well, I know there's listener's Air and Fargo.
[9:46] Speaker 8: And I won't say what never mind what is looking
[9:50] Speaker 8: at right now. But yeah, that is a real good
[9:54] Speaker 8: point though.
[9:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, just having something in the car, even if you
[9:58] Speaker 3: don't have it on you, just for a piece of
[10:00] Speaker 3: if somebody comes and, you know, tries to make that
[10:02] Speaker 3: kind of attempt with the car jacking.
[10:04] Speaker 6: Getting a fender bender on the way from US stop
[10:06] Speaker 6: has nothing to do with the job, right, exactly right.
[10:09] Speaker 8: I like that idea. Thank you very much for suggesting
[10:12] Speaker 8: that I do. I do like that idea to do that.
[10:17] Speaker 5: And it can be a little bit difficult getting the
[10:18] Speaker 5: gun in and out of a holster arrow. It's one
[10:20] Speaker 5: of the reasons that when I'm driving I like those
[10:22] Speaker 5: neck lanyards. A pistol onto that needs to take off
[10:27] Speaker 5: that way. Then you just hang it from the rearview mirror.
[10:30] Speaker 5: See were you not in the car.
[10:32] Speaker 4: It's a really nice piece to show. It's a nice
[10:35] Speaker 4: that's hard.
[10:36] Speaker 6: It's hard to count change with your finger in the
[10:38] Speaker 6: trigger guard.
[10:38] Speaker 5: But I think maybe hanging a pistol from the rearview
[10:43] Speaker 5: mirror is considered hunting over bait.
[10:49] Speaker 3: But you know, they have all kinds of holsters and
[10:52] Speaker 3: accessories that you can get to customize them for travel.
[10:57] Speaker 6: Lockable gun exactly.
[10:58] Speaker 5: They have the safe, but the mounts that're bolt under
[11:02] Speaker 5: your desk.
[11:02] Speaker 3: Yeah, so say they have magnetic pieces that you can
[11:04] Speaker 3: put somewhere that hold like twenty thirty pounds.
[11:08] Speaker 4: So there's lots of options out there.
[11:09] Speaker 3: Of course, that doesn't you know, you have to have
[11:12] Speaker 3: the right kind of gun with metal in the right
[11:15] Speaker 3: places for that to work. But yeah, there's lots of options,
[11:18] Speaker 3: and I would think something is better than nothing.
[11:20] Speaker 4: If this world is as scary as.
[11:22] Speaker 8: It seems, that's an excellent idea. I get rid of
[11:26] Speaker 8: all my CDs and put something more of importance in there.
[11:29] Speaker 7: There you go, ah, oh oh, how about instead of
[11:34] Speaker 7: like a six disc changer, he could have a six
[11:37] Speaker 7: pistol changer.
[11:41] Speaker 8: I like that so much. Everyone.
[11:49] Speaker 4: Yeah, take care of stay safe.
[11:50] Speaker 5: Yeah, it's entirely possible. I have not had enough caffeine today.
[11:53] Speaker 5: I'm not sure about that.
[11:54] Speaker 4: A little slap happy. Maybe not enough sleep, but.
[11:58] Speaker 5: I'm working on that whole trade. Are the copyright or
[12:01] Speaker 5: patent for the six gun? Change your CD thing?
[12:05] Speaker 4: You need a bond gun?
[12:08] Speaker 5: A bond gun?
[12:08] Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, just some some some kind of bond
[12:12] Speaker 3: technology in your vehicle out of.
[12:15] Speaker 5: Your Yeah, that's right. Where is Q to design this
[12:18] Speaker 5: thing for?
[12:19] Speaker 6: Right?
[12:21] Speaker 4: Even if it just gives you different magazines loaded? Gosh,
[12:24] Speaker 4: I would take that.
[12:28] Speaker 6: Well, here's gun.
[12:31] Speaker 4: Oh, let's go.
[12:32] Speaker 3: Here's your next magazine that you can't really put seventeen
[12:35] Speaker 3: rounds of ammunition into.
[12:38] Speaker 5: That's why you get a twenty one round mags you
[12:40] Speaker 5: put seventeen. I think you should have mags. Well you
[12:44] Speaker 5: can imagine at a nineteen eleven class where you only
[12:47] Speaker 5: have eight or nine rounds in your mag being bring
[12:53] Speaker 5: a lot of mags. Yeah, I think I'm taking a
[12:57] Speaker 5: dozen magazines.
[12:58] Speaker 4: But are they the right ones? I mean, I'm sorry.
[13:01] Speaker 5: I guess we will find out, won't wait? Do you
[13:04] Speaker 5: have a do you have a lot of sister, or
[13:05] Speaker 5: your hands are just going to get sore.
[13:07] Speaker 7: No, just shoving me with my thumb. I've never real man,
[13:11] Speaker 7: that's right. I tried to do it with my teeth.
[13:15] Speaker 5: What you do is you put all the m in
[13:16] Speaker 5: your mouth and just spit them into the maga.
[13:19] Speaker 4: Back to bb days.
[13:21] Speaker 5: Actually that's what I used to do with bb gun.
[13:26] Speaker 5: As I pour all the bbes into my mouth and
[13:29] Speaker 5: then that little goofy little opening, I would spit them
[13:32] Speaker 5: into the gun. It's gee.
[13:34] Speaker 4: I wonder why they why we are the way we are.
[13:38] Speaker 5: I wonder why we have.
[13:40] Speaker 6: An attorney on line three now saying it's right, we
[13:43] Speaker 6: do not hear that.
[13:45] Speaker 5: If the class action suit against her daisy because our
[13:48] Speaker 5: guns rushed when you spit into him, I didn't imagine that.
[13:52] Speaker 4: He didn't lick the lead walls. It was just bebes.
[13:55] Speaker 5: It's just copper coated bbes. We wouldn't do that with lead.
[13:58] Speaker 5: Those we chew up like sinkers. Right, You bite the
[14:04] Speaker 5: sinkers onto the line, do you get them to hold on?
[14:07] Speaker 6: There's a little tougher for bird hunting.
[14:09] Speaker 5: You know. Look, people were tough back then. Yeah, we
[14:12] Speaker 5: didn't live that long. But people were tough. That's okay.
[14:15] Speaker 6: I think you need some coffee.
[14:17] Speaker 5: All right, quick break for coffee or sleep? Who knows?

[15:05] Speaker 4: We needed in zo No.
[15:11] Speaker 5: I like Sheriff Jim Wilson's iety, he says, look, you
[15:14] Speaker 5: should be able to order your coffee in three words or.
[15:16] Speaker 4: Less black if you take cream.
[15:21] Speaker 5: Yeah, black with cream, you know, or less that's right,
[15:25] Speaker 5: or just black that's right. But if you have to
[15:27] Speaker 5: use a lot of words order your coffee, you're getting
[15:29] Speaker 5: the wrong kind of coffee and you're in the wrong pace.
[15:31] Speaker 6: Really, it's either you just say black or black and
[15:34] Speaker 6: sugar or cream sugar or.
[15:36] Speaker 5: Bright cream sugar sugar. But if it's low foam, soy,
[15:42] Speaker 5: this and cappuccino. What's its frappuccinos? You're going to know.
[15:47] Speaker 6: Just just know it's like you're at Waffall's smothered covered.
[15:52] Speaker 5: That's right. And ye and a smack upside the head
[15:55] Speaker 5: too at waffle House to three am. And and that
[15:58] Speaker 5: one they just throw in for free. And that's management,
[16:03] Speaker 5: that's right, that's right. It's nobody tougher than the waitresses
[16:07] Speaker 5: that were waffle House. Let me tell you, I wonder
[16:10] Speaker 5: what the turnover is.
[16:11] Speaker 6: You worked there, your first overnight shift, Okay, I'm done.
[16:14] Speaker 5: Yeah, right, Well they either make it or they don't.
[16:17] Speaker 5: After that's the first night or two, they go, yeah,
[16:19] Speaker 5: I'm here forever now. I have no gun.
[16:21] Speaker 6: Sign on the doorses does not apply to employees.
[16:25] Speaker 5: That's right. If you don't have a gun, we'll issue
[16:28] Speaker 5: one to you for the stage. It's a loaner. You're
[16:32] Speaker 5: gonna need it. I do like the grids they do.
[16:38] Speaker 5: I have eat a lot of meals at waffle House.
[16:40] Speaker 5: I like waffle House because I'm pro grits and I'm
[16:44] Speaker 5: pro grease, So it works out well. So there you go.
[16:48] Speaker 5: As we say, that's a carrier system for grease. Those
[16:51] Speaker 5: the hash Browns.
[16:54] Speaker 6: You're cardiologists. You keep keep cardiologists employed that way. It's
[16:57] Speaker 6: a job security thing.
[16:58] Speaker 5: Really, yeah, there you So, yeah, we're gonna go go
[17:03] Speaker 5: shoot some stuff. We're actually next week doing the show
[17:07] Speaker 5: live from Gunsight on Jeff Cooper's birthday. Awesome, cool, that'd
[17:12] Speaker 5: be fun.
[17:12] Speaker 4: Yes, that's awesome.
[17:14] Speaker 6: We're gonna have some gun people who you start for
[17:18] Speaker 6: the industry, come on.
[17:21] Speaker 5: Well, it's interesting how many people today want to build
[17:24] Speaker 5: themselves up by putting him down. Oh yeah, that's all
[17:30] Speaker 5: all technology. Yeah, but before he came along, people were
[17:33] Speaker 5: shooting their handguns one handed police. That's how they trained
[17:38] Speaker 5: all one handed. They figured out, gee, you can shoot
[17:40] Speaker 5: better with two hands on a gun, and that's what
[17:43] Speaker 5: he started teaching.
[17:44] Speaker 3: And if you can't, you can still go back to
[17:46] Speaker 3: one hand. You know, their hand is busy doing something else.
[17:50] Speaker 6: Or you know, on the phone or something, doing online
[17:53] Speaker 6: gambling or something.
[17:55] Speaker 5: Or you're holding your your stoke cone on one in
[17:57] Speaker 5: one hand, your you know, ice cream cone. You don't
[17:59] Speaker 5: want to spill it, okay, which makes for a really
[18:03] Speaker 5: messy reload. So I just want to tell.
[18:05] Speaker 6: You, Yeah, we had a local cop show up at
[18:08] Speaker 6: a suspect had run from a car stopper or whatever
[18:12] Speaker 6: was on the run, and so he was the canine officer.
[18:14] Speaker 6: He decided he was going to respond to the call
[18:16] Speaker 6: with the canine and showed up in crocs drunk. What
[18:21] Speaker 6: let the dog into the house to go after the
[18:23] Speaker 6: guy said, you know if you if I'm gonna let
[18:24] Speaker 6: the dog in, you're gonna get bit if you're in there,
[18:26] Speaker 6: come out now. You didn't, so he just started waving
[18:29] Speaker 6: his gun around in the opening window and stuff.
[18:31] Speaker 5: Yeah, they they terminated him.
[18:33] Speaker 6: Go figure, imagine amazing.
[18:35] Speaker 5: Yeah, interesting story. Well, as we say, there is a
[18:39] Speaker 5: bell curve in every group of people, you know, and
[18:43] Speaker 5: they're not all excellent. You know what do they say
[18:46] Speaker 5: that here? Not everyone is above average?
[18:49] Speaker 7: It doesn't work that way.
[18:53] Speaker 6: Oh well yeah, oh my blunder and recovery.
[18:58] Speaker 5: Oh that's true. Yeah. The mL now a gun juggler.
[19:02] Speaker 5: I am a gun juggler.
[19:03] Speaker 6: I had a horrible, potentially horrible gun moment. But training
[19:07] Speaker 6: actually paid off, and not necessarily training because I don't
[19:11] Speaker 6: practice this.
[19:12] Speaker 5: But I drop It's training. You had put it into
[19:15] Speaker 5: your head over all these years.
[19:16] Speaker 6: That's training, right, But I dropped my gun today and
[19:19] Speaker 6: I didn't you know, it's not like I've dropped a
[19:22] Speaker 6: blue gun to practice dropping my gun, but I did drop.
[19:25] Speaker 4: It and dropped stainless steel one.
[19:27] Speaker 6: Fifty fifteen, twenty years ago. My natural reaction would have
[19:33] Speaker 6: been to twenty five years ago, would have been to
[19:36] Speaker 6: reach out and try to catch the gun, whether it
[19:38] Speaker 6: was a plate falling, a fork or whatever. But like
[19:41] Speaker 6: knives and scissors and other things, I have learned through
[19:45] Speaker 6: the gun talk prowess that as soon as it started
[19:50] Speaker 6: to fall, I didn't even make a feeble attempt to
[19:52] Speaker 6: grab it.
[19:52] Speaker 4: Just make sure your toes were out of the way, exactly.
[19:54] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[19:55] Speaker 6: I took one step back, both feet and I couldn't
[19:57] Speaker 6: tell you which one's first, but they both moved pretty
[19:59] Speaker 6: quick for an old guy, and I dropped hit the
[20:02] Speaker 6: floor and didn't make a huge noise.
[20:04] Speaker 5: And it's good. Yeah, they pick it up, you go
[20:07] Speaker 5: back to your business. But you know, if you hadn't
[20:09] Speaker 5: put that in your head through all these times we've
[20:10] Speaker 5: talked about it, the natural inclination is to reach out
[20:14] Speaker 5: and grab it as it's falling, and people have shot
[20:17] Speaker 5: themselves doing that.
[20:18] Speaker 6: Yeah, Matthew finger in the trigger guarders would could very
[20:21] Speaker 6: easily end up there and you get specially a little pressure,
[20:25] Speaker 6: a little trigger.
[20:25] Speaker 5: Yep.
[20:26] Speaker 4: But I've seen on the movies that guns go off
[20:28] Speaker 4: when you drop them, so you.
[20:30] Speaker 3: Might want to send yours back and have it checked sender.
[20:35] Speaker 6: This was the fact that I dropped my gun didn't
[20:38] Speaker 6: go off, and everything I read from the experts online.
[20:41] Speaker 3: Said, oh, I know, you talk about old technology and
[20:47] Speaker 3: I feel like there is a lot of pushback for
[20:50] Speaker 3: the longest time, and people picking up revolvers are suggesting
[20:54] Speaker 3: revolver use because we're in this world of semiatos. But
[20:58] Speaker 3: a revolver has a huge purpose in this world still.
[21:03] Speaker 3: You know those people who can't function with the slide
[21:07] Speaker 3: and can't put all the rounds into the magazine. And
[21:11] Speaker 3: quite honestly, sometimes if you're not going to work on
[21:14] Speaker 3: your skill set, especially with the semiato, a revolver is
[21:18] Speaker 3: a great one to go back to because they don't jam,
[21:21] Speaker 3: they're really easy to clean. I mean, there's just so
[21:23] Speaker 3: many good things about them, and almost anybody now the
[21:28] Speaker 3: small snubnose thirty eighths, you know, can be Yeah, they
[21:33] Speaker 3: can be a little bit.
[21:34] Speaker 5: Now people can't shoot in double action because they've got
[21:37] Speaker 5: a twelve pound trigger pull, and that could be an issue.
[21:39] Speaker 8: Right.
[21:39] Speaker 3: I was just going to say, there's lots of options
[21:41] Speaker 3: the you know, different if you just go across the
[21:44] Speaker 3: Ruger platform with the with the Blackhawks, you know that
[21:49] Speaker 3: really it's it's a lighter weight trigger and that's a
[21:52] Speaker 3: perfect gun and a three point fifty seven to be
[21:55] Speaker 3: able to use for.
[21:56] Speaker 5: But I'm not sure i'd recommend a single action revolver
[22:00] Speaker 5: for that because now you really are talking about a
[22:02] Speaker 5: super lightweight trigger if you got that thing cocked. Yeah,
[22:05] Speaker 5: but they make a lot of really good double action.
[22:08] Speaker 3: I mean, right, but I guess the point being just
[22:11] Speaker 3: the different styles for the grips and everything else. When
[22:15] Speaker 3: you go across their platform, you can get something if
[22:17] Speaker 3: you have the larger hands that set back more, you
[22:20] Speaker 3: can get something that's you know, smaller size altogether getting
[22:24] Speaker 3: into the sp one on one series and stuff. So,
[22:27] Speaker 3: I you know, I just think they still have a
[22:28] Speaker 3: great place in this world, and they were they were
[22:32] Speaker 3: cut down for a long time.
[22:33] Speaker 6: Well, and when you're talking about old technology, I mean,
[22:36] Speaker 6: try to tell that to our caller who's shot thirty
[22:38] Speaker 6: five deer and turkey with a single shot. Four ten
[22:41] Speaker 6: was that fourteen Maydia Dickenson arms time could be Okay.
[22:46] Speaker 5: I'm looking at that and yeah, H and R sounds
[22:50] Speaker 5: more like anything else. Yeah, probably an H and R. Yeah,
[22:53] Speaker 5: but yeah, we had the guy called had the five
[22:56] Speaker 5: word seven that was not wouldn't go into there's having problems.
[23:01] Speaker 5: He and his wife were, and he said they went
[23:03] Speaker 5: with that because you couldn't work the slide on a
[23:05] Speaker 5: nine milimeter. And my immediate thought is, well, you now
[23:08] Speaker 5: have a whole generation of nines that are easy to work.
[23:12] Speaker 5: The Smith and Weston equalizer, the shield easy, even the
[23:18] Speaker 5: all the way down to the sig. Was it the
[23:21] Speaker 5: nine thirty eight the little bit? I mean, it's a
[23:27] Speaker 5: I've got I've got one in a three eighty that's
[23:29] Speaker 5: even easier to run.
[23:30] Speaker 6: So just look there are option chambers itself.
[23:33] Speaker 5: It's amazing. That's right. You say load yourself and it does. Okay,
[23:38] Speaker 5: So all right, So I got something I wanted to
[23:40] Speaker 5: talk about. I thought I was gonna talk about the
[23:42] Speaker 5: other regular show, but I've started to track down. I've
[23:46] Speaker 5: got some people working on this in our world, and
[23:49] Speaker 5: it's all about AI, artificial intelligence, and I have been
[23:56] Speaker 5: sniffing around and I'm fairly shure at this point that
[24:01] Speaker 5: the gun ban movement is working to put information into
[24:06] Speaker 5: AI so that when you search about gun accidents or
[24:11] Speaker 5: self defense or whatever, it comes up with their messages.
[24:15] Speaker 4: Well, if they didn't, I would be shocked.
[24:18] Speaker 5: Yes, I agree. And the danger here is people go, yeah,
[24:24] Speaker 5: that's what they do. It's like they shrug it off. No, no, no,
[24:26] Speaker 5: you understand In a very few years that becomes the truth. Yes,
[24:31] Speaker 5: that becomes what everybody knows, because if you search AI,
[24:34] Speaker 5: it's going to come up with what guns are used.
[24:37] Speaker 5: The guns are the number one reason that children die.
[24:40] Speaker 5: Well it's not true, but if they say it over
[24:42] Speaker 5: and over again, if they get it put into AI
[24:44] Speaker 5: with no other you know, information, And so we're going
[24:48] Speaker 5: to be publishing an article and it is written by AI.
[24:54] Speaker 7: But this is a really interesting article because a fellow
[24:58] Speaker 7: we work with, no he's a fire instructor.
[25:01] Speaker 5: He uses AI in his work, which is a different
[25:03] Speaker 5: kind of work, and I mean he's really into it.
[25:05] Speaker 5: He's got all these different models and all and he
[25:07] Speaker 5: had it looking into guns and it came back with
[25:10] Speaker 5: the typical guns are primarily used by rural white men,
[25:14] Speaker 5: you know, who are afraid of the government. I mean,
[25:16] Speaker 5: he went through the whole deal, just.
[25:18] Speaker 4: All that stuff searching the internet, and that's what I found.
[25:21] Speaker 5: That's where it found exactly. So he said, okay, I
[25:23] Speaker 5: want you to now go in and do a deep dive.
[25:29] Speaker 5: You know, my history. Look everywhere that I go online,
[25:33] Speaker 5: look at who I shoot with, look at the competitions
[25:36] Speaker 5: I do, look at you know, he told it all
[25:38] Speaker 5: the stuff. He says, go ahead and look at that,
[25:40] Speaker 5: and then come back and write an article based on
[25:44] Speaker 5: what you have learned. And AI came back and wrote
[25:49] Speaker 5: an article about all about how it was wrong and
[25:53] Speaker 5: how what it thought was true was not and when
[25:56] Speaker 5: it went in and looked at the gun culture and
[25:58] Speaker 5: people who own guns and what they really use them for.
[26:01] Speaker 4: I hope he's very interesting.
[26:02] Speaker 3: I hope he saved that because when you go back
[26:04] Speaker 3: to try to find it, it won't be there.
[26:07] Speaker 5: Well, and I asked him, I said, here's the thing,
[26:09] Speaker 5: big question is will that information that it learned to
[26:13] Speaker 5: be part of its overall learning. He said, no, that's
[26:17] Speaker 5: only on the model that exists in my computer. Really, yes,
[26:22] Speaker 5: I did not know that. How do we get it
[26:25] Speaker 5: to the genital to gen pop there, Yeah, I go.
[26:29] Speaker 5: So that's my next step. But that's what I'm working
[26:32] Speaker 5: on currently, is how you talk to the right.
[26:38] Speaker 6: Looks and he's a lot more.
[26:39] Speaker 5: I'm not even good luck substance awesome, though I've kind
[26:46] Speaker 5: of put that in front of some of the key
[26:48] Speaker 5: people and the gun rights movement of this is something
[26:51] Speaker 5: we need to move to the front burner because you
[26:54] Speaker 5: can get so far behind in two to three years
[26:57] Speaker 5: that it's not fixable right now with the rapid advancement.
[27:01] Speaker 3: Of AI, right, we talk about that all the time.
[27:03] Speaker 3: We're always reactionary, so it would be great to be
[27:06] Speaker 3: on the forefront of this.
[27:08] Speaker 5: So we'll we publishing that article with some background information
[27:12] Speaker 5: and then like I said, I'm working with basically a
[27:15] Speaker 5: number of the key Second Amendment groups and honestly it
[27:19] Speaker 5: would be The reality is what we really need is
[27:22] Speaker 5: someone to run a project, and we need somebody to
[27:25] Speaker 5: drop one hundred grand onto it so we can do it. Oh, Jeff,
[27:28] Speaker 5: you can't just say, well, we're just going to find
[27:30] Speaker 5: somebody who's going to do this, who's going to do
[27:32] Speaker 5: this in their spare time. You can't do that. Nobody
[27:33] Speaker 5: has spare time.
[27:34] Speaker 6: Right right, Yeah, we just won't get pizza night, Michelle,
[27:37] Speaker 6: Let's do it.
[27:38] Speaker 5: There you go, we can if you do get piece
[27:40] Speaker 5: and make sure the guy's carrying anyway, I hope. So yeah,
[27:44] Speaker 5: from a neck lanyard, I like this.
[27:46] Speaker 3: Do you suppose if we want to shark tank we
[27:48] Speaker 3: could get somebody to follow?
[27:51] Speaker 5: Well, what networks? I can see that right. Something tells
[27:55] Speaker 5: me some of those folks wouldn't be really agreeable to
[27:58] Speaker 5: that whole idea, although all although is it.
[28:01] Speaker 7: Kevin O'Leary is one of those guys. He was at
[28:05] Speaker 7: in Ratio, so really he was at one of the
[28:09] Speaker 7: boosts where they're doing gold selling gold, that's one of
[28:13] Speaker 7: his gigs, and there was a huge line of people
[28:16] Speaker 7: lined up to get his autograph.
[28:18] Speaker 5: That was interesting. Hmmm, well there you go, Golden guns.
[28:22] Speaker 3: There's enough there's enough people out there in this industry,
[28:25] Speaker 3: especially company wide, that I would think could get behind
[28:29] Speaker 3: something like that. And if we appear first, what then
[28:35] Speaker 3: mm hmmm, because now they're.
[28:37] Speaker 5: And now the one of the ones he was working
[28:42] Speaker 5: with was Anthropic and their model is called Claude, and
[28:47] Speaker 5: we know already that Anthropic and Claude are really woke,
[28:52] Speaker 5: very left wing with the answers they provide, and Elon
[28:55] Speaker 5: has been calling them out. Of course, he's got rock
[28:58] Speaker 5: his version of AI, which I think is a little
[29:01] Speaker 5: bit behind the others, but moving fast, we'll see. But
[29:05] Speaker 5: he's trying to make it woke. Holy cow, did you
[29:09] Speaker 5: see that came from all the way behind and passed
[29:13] Speaker 5: everybody to win.
[29:15] Speaker 10: Yep, sand Bat they tested that horse and then yeah,
[29:23] Speaker 10: they were going to test the horse, but they couldn't
[29:24] Speaker 10: catch it.
[29:30] Speaker 5: It's like Forrest Gump. Funny stuff. That'd be funny name
[29:36] Speaker 5: of horse, horse.
[29:36] Speaker 4: Gump, Forest run run.
[29:41] Speaker 5: I just kept running.
[29:43] Speaker 3: Life was like a box chocolates. That's right there, you go,
[29:46] Speaker 3: some of the best things.
[29:46] Speaker 5: All right, Well, next week we will be doing this
[29:49] Speaker 5: live from gun Site, the oldest gun fighting school in
[29:53] Speaker 5: the country.
[29:55] Speaker 4: Amazing.
[29:56] Speaker 6: You enjoy that nineteen eleven that will never catch out?
[30:00] Speaker 5: Yeah, I know. It's like, yeah, that's the reason you
[30:02] Speaker 5: carry several of them, because you know they just don't work.
[30:04] Speaker 3: Tom just has to go back to that class because
[30:06] Speaker 3: it's the only place they allow it. Nobody else everybody's like, no,
[30:10] Speaker 3: you need a modern gun.
[30:11] Speaker 6: He picks up that guy and he raises his voice
[30:14] Speaker 6: too octaves and says.
[30:15] Speaker 4: Feels like home.
[30:18] Speaker 5: I can't pull it off like she's so cute. She's
[30:21] Speaker 5: so cute. Wasn't that great? I said, you know, nfe
[30:22] Speaker 5: to eleven. She just yeah, it just it feels like home.
[30:25] Speaker 4: That's awesome, because.
[30:27] Speaker 5: There's no place like home yours three times. There you go.
[30:33] Speaker 5: You can travel. Wonderful week. Oh yeah we will. We're
[30:36] Speaker 5: gonna have fun going down. We're driving down with some
[30:38] Speaker 5: friends and making a number of stops along the way
[30:40] Speaker 5: and kind to go see Zion and do the you know,
[30:43] Speaker 5: the national work. Beautiful.
[30:45] Speaker 4: You'll not enjoy that at all.
[30:47] Speaker 5: No, no, no, you guys have good week.
[30:52] Speaker 4: Good We'll catch you next time for the gun talk
[30:56] Speaker 4: after show.
