## Transcript

[0:03] Speaker 1: So you've made it through three hours of the regular
[0:06] Speaker 1: show on terrestrial radio, and you wanted a little bit more.
[0:09] Speaker 1: So that's why you found the gun Talk After Show podcast,
[0:11] Speaker 1: where we saved all the best things that we can't
[0:14] Speaker 1: say on regular radio. Now here's Tom, Michelle and Jim
[0:17] Speaker 1: for the gun Talk After Show.
[0:19] Speaker 2: Gets After Showtime Got Jim Canthy, Michelle Cleland, Hello, my friends.
[0:23] Speaker 3: Hello, Hello, Hello.
[0:25] Speaker 2: It is June seven, day after D Day celebration. I
[0:29] Speaker 2: watched a couple of movies last night because to me,
[0:32] Speaker 2: that is probably one of the pivotal points in the
[0:37] Speaker 2: history of the United States, is D Day. It's always good.
[0:41] Speaker 2: In The Longest Day maybe my favorite D Day movie,
[0:46] Speaker 2: And they just like rounded up all the best actors
[0:49] Speaker 2: in Hollywood at the time, and everybody from John Wayne
[0:53] Speaker 2: on down. It's an amazing accumulation of great actors and
[0:57] Speaker 2: a really good story written by Cornelius Ryan, who was
[1:00] Speaker 2: a friend of the family.
[1:01] Speaker 1: By the way, look at your little connection.
[1:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, Connie right. He wrote A Bridge Too Far in
[1:08] Speaker 2: the Longest Day, a pretty good stuff.
[1:11] Speaker 3: I thought you're gonna say The Longest Yard. I'm like,
[1:13] Speaker 3: I like that movie too.
[1:16] Speaker 4: That's about how far I shoot just the longest yard,
[1:21] Speaker 4: oh man, but not anymore.
[1:25] Speaker 2: No, and what an exciting time with this, I mean,
[1:29] Speaker 2: completely new technology of this m O and oh you'll
[1:33] Speaker 2: love this. I mean it's can't really do it on
[1:35] Speaker 2: radio that well. But somebody, you know how people always
[1:37] Speaker 2: miss spelling creed More. It's c r e E D
[1:41] Speaker 2: m o o R. Somebody said, yeah, but now it's
[1:45] Speaker 2: actually more. Okay, that's pretty good.
[1:51] Speaker 3: I like it. It's funny a little.
[1:54] Speaker 1: They didn't have enough insight when they did the spelling
[1:57] Speaker 1: of it.
[1:58] Speaker 2: Huh right, right, Uh. We've got actually a video of
[2:02] Speaker 2: Ryan shooting it. We got one box of AMMO and
[2:07] Speaker 2: it was demo pre production all of that. But he
[2:12] Speaker 2: was getting with uh I think it was eighteen inch barrel,
[2:15] Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty green bullets getting three thousand feet
[2:17] Speaker 2: per second. And then he had some regular creed More
[2:20] Speaker 2: but all they had was one hundred and forty grain,
[2:21] Speaker 2: so it wasn't exactly the same, but they were getting
[2:25] Speaker 2: a little under twenty five hundred, so about five hundred
[2:27] Speaker 2: feet per second difference.
[2:28] Speaker 3: Wow, I know.
[2:31] Speaker 1: So they probably won't be using it for any upcoming
[2:33] Speaker 1: hunts or anything like that. It's not probably not worth while.
[2:37] Speaker 2: Right, well, and we'll see because they when they say
[2:40] Speaker 2: August one is when they feel like they'll be shipping,
[2:43] Speaker 2: So okay, just in time for hunting season. But I
[2:46] Speaker 2: just think it's really exciting.
[2:48] Speaker 3: Gives you an unfair advantage over those poor critters.
[2:52] Speaker 2: Yes, yes, we're going to because we're going to make
[2:55] Speaker 2: them use standard AMMO.
[2:59] Speaker 1: The problem will be you can't get enough of them,
[3:01] Speaker 1: or can't get enough Ammo or whatever the situation is.
[3:04] Speaker 1: There's always a panic right before hunting the season. Oh yeah,
[3:07] Speaker 1: the new calibers out.
[3:10] Speaker 2: What I always really like is the people online as
[3:13] Speaker 2: soon as it's announced, so they come out with all
[3:15] Speaker 2: of their reasons why it's a bad idea.
[3:17] Speaker 3: And they've never seen it a touchdown.
[3:19] Speaker 2: Nobody needs this, YadA YadA YadA. It's gonna burn up barrels,
[3:24] Speaker 2: it's gonna blow up your guns, it's gonna you just like,
[3:27] Speaker 2: do you not think they have engineering departments who.
[3:31] Speaker 5: Have tested all this stuff and know all.
[3:33] Speaker 3: The ship We never took that any considered pressure.
[3:36] Speaker 5: Yeah, have you never thought about that?
[3:40] Speaker 2: It's just it's like, really, you know, it's like people
[3:44] Speaker 2: are compelled to post something, even if they don't know
[3:49] Speaker 2: anything about it because they just have to weigh in
[3:52] Speaker 2: on it.
[3:53] Speaker 1: It's ridiculous that stuff happens.
[3:58] Speaker 5: Thank you.
[3:59] Speaker 1: That was all bactual, It's all true.
[4:03] Speaker 5: Well, it's the Internet. It's got to be true.
[4:04] Speaker 1: It's got to It's in black and white right in
[4:06] Speaker 1: front of you.
[4:07] Speaker 5: Sometimes there you go, yes, I n read ye on
[4:10] Speaker 5: your screen exactly. All right.
[4:14] Speaker 2: So Jim and you just had something happen in your
[4:17] Speaker 2: backyard there last night.
[4:19] Speaker 5: You want to talk about that?
[4:20] Speaker 3: No, I really don't know. It's a multi, multi pronged
[4:28] Speaker 3: process we have going on here in town. With slap
[4:31] Speaker 3: on the wrist, let them go. The cops don't even
[4:34] Speaker 3: want to arrest people anymore because they're just back out
[4:36] Speaker 3: on the streets. And we had twelve people shot at
[4:39] Speaker 3: a festival in town in Ohio, toled, Ohio, yep. And
[4:46] Speaker 3: twelve people were hit. Two are still in critical condition.
[4:50] Speaker 3: No suspects in custody. They had a lot of police
[4:54] Speaker 3: on site, but not necessarily in that area at that time,
[5:00] Speaker 3: and they're you know, hoping that the community. They've got
[5:03] Speaker 3: you know, video from people coming and going outside of it.
[5:06] Speaker 3: They have to try to figure out who was what,
[5:08] Speaker 3: when where, so there they're leafing through a lot of
[5:11] Speaker 3: stuff now.
[5:12] Speaker 2: And this was a festival with just a lot of
[5:14] Speaker 2: regular people and families.
[5:15] Speaker 5: This was not like some crazy rug for you.
[5:18] Speaker 3: Well, for years it was. And then I guess last year,
[5:21] Speaker 3: maybe a year before, they combined it with Pride Month
[5:24] Speaker 3: here in town. Yay. Yeah, and that I don't think
[5:28] Speaker 3: that had a tie in at all. But it was
[5:31] Speaker 3: more than just the West End folks residents. It was
[5:35] Speaker 3: an opportunity for other folks to gather and do their thing.
[5:39] Speaker 3: And there's there's no tie into that apparently. The reports
[5:44] Speaker 3: and I'm just telling you the stuff that I heard
[5:47] Speaker 3: the police chiefs say on the news. It's nothing inside
[5:50] Speaker 3: info or anything else. But there was an altercation on
[5:54] Speaker 3: Friday night with they believed the same two individuals, and
[5:57] Speaker 3: they came back and went at it again on Saturday.
[6:00] Speaker 1: They're from that area, yeah, yeah.
[6:02] Speaker 3: So there, so they have an idea who it is. Yeah,
[6:05] Speaker 3: they're not saying that, and they're still asking for help,
[6:07] Speaker 3: so they're they're not positive. There's a lot a lot
[6:11] Speaker 3: of eyewitnesses, but a lot of eyewitnesses are reluctant to
[6:14] Speaker 3: turn over their video footage for some really yeah, so,
[6:18] Speaker 3: but it doesn't. You know, what's going to happen anyway
[6:21] Speaker 3: is historically the prosecutors and judges to slap them on
[6:26] Speaker 3: the wrist and they're out again. And you know, well
[6:29] Speaker 3: because of overcrowding and everything else. Okay, so raise our
[6:32] Speaker 3: taxes and keep these kids and or hold their parents
[6:37] Speaker 3: responsible for their actions. But they don't, and it just
[6:40] Speaker 3: goes on and on and on.
[6:41] Speaker 2: I think when somebody does something like that, it's really
[6:44] Speaker 2: good to impose no gun prescription on them so that
[6:49] Speaker 2: they can't have guns. And the best way to do
[6:51] Speaker 2: that is to put them into prison so they can't
[6:54] Speaker 2: have guns.
[6:55] Speaker 3: Huh. Yeah, but you know, what they were raised is tough,
[6:59] Speaker 3: tough childhood growing up, and every sob story there is
[7:03] Speaker 3: just it gets old. And I was talking to show
[7:05] Speaker 3: about it, and I hate to say it this way,
[7:07] Speaker 3: but oh and then after that, after that, that was
[7:09] Speaker 3: a five point thirty seven in the PM, and then
[7:12] Speaker 3: around ten o'clock a hundred of young folks took over
[7:18] Speaker 3: a downtown.
[7:19] Speaker 5: Club and just to takeover things.
[7:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, so two in one night, two big deals in
[7:25] Speaker 3: one night.
[7:26] Speaker 5: And I'm thinking, somebody's going to get.
[7:28] Speaker 3: Killed, is what's going to happen. If they don't prosecute
[7:30] Speaker 3: and make these people do time, somebody's going to get killed,
[7:32] Speaker 3: justifiably or not. They're going to get shot, they're going
[7:35] Speaker 3: to get taken out. And then they say, oh, now
[7:38] Speaker 3: we have a problem. We better look at it.
[7:41] Speaker 2: From a personal protection standpoint, I was thinking about this.
[7:44] Speaker 2: You got these takeovers, and you might explain what those
[7:48] Speaker 2: are for people, and maybe people haven't paid a lot
[7:50] Speaker 2: of attentions.
[7:50] Speaker 5: Or don't know that term.
[7:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, well they're loosely organized, usually on Facebook or you know,
[7:55] Speaker 3: TikTok whatever. They're loosely organized events. So they say, okay,
[8:00] Speaker 3: ten o'clock, everybody need at X y Z and they've
[8:03] Speaker 3: got two security guards, but there'll be one hundred of us,
[8:04] Speaker 3: so we can just just walk right over. And they do.
[8:08] Speaker 2: Generally ten agers, young people. Uh yeah, mom mobbed the place. Yeah,
[8:12] Speaker 2: and they just mobbed the place and take over. And
[8:14] Speaker 2: often it ends up going evolving into a lot of fights,
[8:19] Speaker 2: a lot of destruction of property, maybe fire set that
[8:22] Speaker 2: kind of thing.
[8:23] Speaker 5: So I'm just thinking, it's a mini riot, is what
[8:25] Speaker 5: it is.
[8:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an organized, an online organized mini riot. If
[8:31] Speaker 2: for a personal standpoint, personal protection obviously carried a gun
[8:35] Speaker 2: is a good idea, but I think you need something
[8:38] Speaker 2: in addition to that.
[8:40] Speaker 3: And normally I.
[8:40] Speaker 2: Would say, well, pepper spray is good, but pepper spray
[8:42] Speaker 2: is good for one or two people. I'm just thinking
[8:45] Speaker 2: that you know a small backpack that you carry everywhere
[8:49] Speaker 2: that has a great big can of bear spray in
[8:54] Speaker 2: addition to you know, your firearm, But I just you
[8:57] Speaker 2: know a big can where you can essentially hosed down
[9:00] Speaker 2: the people around you to get out, just so you
[9:03] Speaker 2: could extricate yourself from a situation.
[9:05] Speaker 3: Like that, right, well, yeah, yeah, yeah, as far as
[9:08] Speaker 3: self protection, yeah, as far as to get this prevent
[9:11] Speaker 3: this from continuing to happen and grow and get worse,
[9:14] Speaker 3: there's much more stuffs that the.
[9:17] Speaker 2: Well, you have to elect the right people. I mean
[9:20] Speaker 2: that's where it begins and ends, because if you're not
[9:22] Speaker 2: doing that, you're not going to get anywhere. So you
[9:23] Speaker 2: have to get rid of the people who are not
[9:26] Speaker 2: getting it done, and you have to elect the right
[9:29] Speaker 2: people who will say we are going to arrest everyone,
[9:33] Speaker 2: and if we don't have room in the jail, we
[9:34] Speaker 2: will put up tents, and we will put up chain
[9:37] Speaker 2: link fences and that's just where you're going to stay.
[9:40] Speaker 5: But you will be arrested.
[9:42] Speaker 2: And when they say, well, they can't arrest us, all,
[9:44] Speaker 2: oh yeah, watch us.
[9:46] Speaker 5: I bet we can arrest a lot of you.
[9:49] Speaker 3: Right, you bring in forty cops.
[9:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, you bring in forty cops and surround the area.
[9:54] Speaker 2: You can just move that circle in tighter and tighter.
[9:57] Speaker 2: There are ways to do that.
[10:00] Speaker 1: Well. In the other side of this, too, is anytime
[10:03] Speaker 1: there's a police officer who takes a misstep or has
[10:07] Speaker 1: lousy communication with people citizens of the area. And this
[10:12] Speaker 1: is across the country. Everything is videoed, and oh yeah,
[10:18] Speaker 1: people are afraid it sometimes to do something because you know,
[10:22] Speaker 1: it's never in a good sight.
[10:24] Speaker 2: Well yeah, I mean, and they are arresting and charging
[10:28] Speaker 2: and sentencing police officers to jail.
[10:31] Speaker 3: Yeah, I know they had some They had a little
[10:35] Speaker 3: bit of that take place at the festival. For some
[10:37] Speaker 3: of the videos I saw, this guy said, the cop
[10:39] Speaker 3: is telling me to leave the area, to leave the area,
[10:41] Speaker 3: and this guy wouldn't do it. It was a black cop
[10:43] Speaker 3: and a black guy witness that was there, and the
[10:46] Speaker 3: cops can move along. You know, you need to get
[10:48] Speaker 3: out of here. He says, you're just kicking me out
[10:50] Speaker 3: of here because I'm black. And he was a black,
[10:52] Speaker 3: black cop, right, And he said probably if they would
[10:55] Speaker 3: have sent a white cop over, it would have been
[10:56] Speaker 3: the exact same story. So does the skin color really
[10:59] Speaker 3: matter at all? The guy guy was in a dangerous
[11:01] Speaker 3: spot where shouldn't be and he was told to move and.
[11:04] Speaker 5: The cops just saying you don't need to be here
[11:05] Speaker 5: because it's dangerous here.
[11:07] Speaker 3: Right, But that's racist? What a crack?
[11:10] Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and it makes it difficult to be a cop,
[11:13] Speaker 2: and you frankly become a lot more reluctant to go
[11:16] Speaker 2: insert yourself into these situations because no way has you back.
[11:19] Speaker 3: Yeah, what's the incentive, Well, you make the arrest.
[11:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, go all the way back to you got to arrest,
[11:26] Speaker 2: correct it, You go all the way back to You've
[11:29] Speaker 2: got to elect the right people and then they will
[11:32] Speaker 2: back their cops and then you will have it affective
[11:36] Speaker 2: police force. Uh, you know, you can't do any of
[11:40] Speaker 2: this if you are not electing the right people. You
[11:43] Speaker 2: got to throw out the bums who are allowing this
[11:45] Speaker 2: to happen. And if the people won't do that, then
[11:47] Speaker 2: people are going to get what they.
[11:48] Speaker 3: Get, right, And The problem is that it affects the
[11:51] Speaker 3: Toledo area, not just the city of Toledo and city
[11:54] Speaker 3: judges and prosecutors and stuff. It involves a whole area.
[12:00] Speaker 2: So well, there you go. I am really sorry. I
[12:04] Speaker 2: going to know that a number of people got shot.
[12:07] Speaker 2: Some of them are severely hurt, so prayers for all
[12:12] Speaker 2: of them and their families. It's just such a mess,
[12:15] Speaker 2: but just one of those you gotta be careful, be alert.
[12:19] Speaker 2: And you know, I wish we didn't have to do this.
[12:21] Speaker 2: I wish we didn't have to worry about all this
[12:23] Speaker 2: kind of stuff. But wishing is just kind of a
[12:26] Speaker 2: silly idea, it is, and you can't pretend it's not
[12:29] Speaker 2: this way. So yeah, I carry gauze with me, I
[12:33] Speaker 2: carry you turning it with me. I carry a handgun
[12:36] Speaker 2: and extra magazines with me smart just because there you go.
[12:42] Speaker 2: All right, tell you what, take a quick break. When
[12:44] Speaker 2: we come back. Let's talk a little bit more fun
[12:46] Speaker 2: stuff like guns and AMMO and high velocity.
[12:49] Speaker 3: Oh and the adoption process for Michelle and I. We'll
[12:52] Speaker 3: be right back.
[13:00] Speaker 6: From the range to the field. CZ firearms are built
[13:03] Speaker 6: to perform when it counts. Known for accuracy, durability and Reliability.
[13:08] Speaker 6: C Z stands apart CZ built for those who demand
[13:12] Speaker 6: more CZ Firearms dot com.
[13:23] Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind the two fifty seven robbers. I think
[13:25] Speaker 1: I could handle it.
[13:26] Speaker 3: I can learn how to shoot left handed right.
[13:29] Speaker 2: So we're here auditioning to be adopted by me. Now,
[13:34] Speaker 2: that's what we're going on here.
[13:36] Speaker 3: You're doing the right thing by giving away stuff while
[13:38] Speaker 3: you're still around. We're just figured, you know, we'll make
[13:40] Speaker 3: this legal so much.
[13:41] Speaker 5: Shut the line forms right here. Huh yeah, why not.
[13:45] Speaker 1: I've got number one on the delisle on the deli
[13:47] Speaker 1: number a full off tap, try.
[13:50] Speaker 3: To take a number, take a number.
[13:52] Speaker 1: I love it?
[13:52] Speaker 5: Oh god.
[13:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know one of my problems. Both of
[13:58] Speaker 2: our granddaughters, Ryan's girls she left handed and Mom's rifle
[14:04] Speaker 2: is right handed. But I think they can handle it, okay,
[14:06] Speaker 2: I mean we got to keep it in the family.
[14:07] Speaker 1: Anyway, Absolutely well. And I think that stuff is important,
[14:12] Speaker 1: and you know, we talk about it all the time.
[14:14] Speaker 1: But obviously the fact that you can make a video
[14:17] Speaker 1: even if you share a story with a teenager now
[14:22] Speaker 1: and they may be very mindful of it at the moment,
[14:24] Speaker 1: but unless it gets revisited over and over and over again.
[14:28] Speaker 1: It doesn't become part of their memory or part of
[14:31] Speaker 1: their story, even if they are to inherit.
[14:33] Speaker 3: The gun at some point their version interpretation.
[14:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so I think you know, when it's handed
[14:39] Speaker 1: down with the rifle and yeah, you can share the
[14:41] Speaker 1: story right then. Sometimes just the act of giving the
[14:44] Speaker 1: rifle makes it set in. But you know, the more
[14:48] Speaker 1: factual the better.
[14:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, And I like the idea of the old school,
[14:52] Speaker 3: either physically writing it mm hmm, or if you're going
[14:55] Speaker 3: to be a little more high tached, just put on
[14:56] Speaker 3: a thumb drive and keep it in the guns particular case,
[14:59] Speaker 3: so it's always with the gun, right they'd have the
[15:01] Speaker 3: video story there.
[15:02] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you could record a video and then put
[15:04] Speaker 2: it on a thumb drive they get with the gun.
[15:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, you know how many times have well I don't know,
[15:09] Speaker 1: maybe other people haven't, but you know, in your career
[15:12] Speaker 1: of guns and maybe gunsmithing and that type of thing,
[15:16] Speaker 1: you know, people have put old hunting licenses in the
[15:21] Speaker 1: stock you know, of their gun, or their Social Security
[15:25] Speaker 1: numbers on the side of the gun. I mean, whatever
[15:27] Speaker 1: it is, you know, identification purposes, and it might not
[15:32] Speaker 1: get handed down to a family member, and people don't
[15:34] Speaker 1: think about that often. So even though you think you're
[15:37] Speaker 1: crafty with putting that information in the stock, unless somebody knows, Yeah,
[15:43] Speaker 1: and it doesn't go anywhere unfortunately, or might not go
[15:46] Speaker 1: to the right person, you know, if they sell it
[15:50] Speaker 1: or whatever they do with it.
[15:51] Speaker 3: But yeah, my son' zax and love the GT ten. Yeah,
[15:55] Speaker 3: he likes them all, but the GG ten is his gun,
[15:58] Speaker 3: and he's you know, coming on, we got to move
[16:00] Speaker 3: long dad, let's you know, let's make your pre prior reservations.
[16:03] Speaker 3: Let's get this thing moving. He's a funny kid. That'll
[16:07] Speaker 3: that'll be his a lot sooner than he thinks because
[16:09] Speaker 3: it's it's coming up here and he has no clue.
[16:11] Speaker 5: Oh that's cool. Yeah. GG ten was our first gun.
[16:14] Speaker 5: Talk gun.
[16:15] Speaker 6: Hm.
[16:15] Speaker 2: That was the the Kimber nineteen eleven and ten milmeter
[16:19] Speaker 2: beautiful grips and beautiful gun.
[16:22] Speaker 5: Yeah. So yeah, that's really nice.
[16:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, we've done three ten meters in I guess just
[16:32] Speaker 2: the one, yeah, just the one rifle.
[16:34] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[16:35] Speaker 2: So don't know what's going to be next. There are
[16:37] Speaker 2: some cool things going on. I don't man, I tell you,
[16:41] Speaker 2: there's so much development going on. WEATHERB has a four
[16:45] Speaker 2: pound honey rifle. Four pounds. I mean, it's unbelievable how
[16:51] Speaker 2: they're shaving the weight off. Now you take that and say, okay,
[16:54] Speaker 2: well but what if we cut the barrel in half.
[16:57] Speaker 2: Say you had a twenty two inch barrel and you
[16:59] Speaker 2: went down to eleven or twelve inches and had similar velocities.
[17:04] Speaker 1: Holy cow, So now you just made the creed most.
[17:10] Speaker 5: Okay, you win.
[17:13] Speaker 3: You'll use that to you know you will.
[17:15] Speaker 5: You should just consider that I havn't stolen.
[17:21] Speaker 3: Oh Lord Briant, all right, that's right.
[17:27] Speaker 5: Yeah, if you were getting paid anything, i'd say you
[17:29] Speaker 5: earned your painted day.
[17:30] Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Oh well, just gave that one away there
[17:37] Speaker 1: from this.
[17:38] Speaker 5: Sorry about that.
[17:39] Speaker 3: So any any design ideas for the g T one
[17:42] Speaker 3: hundred yet time looking down the road?
[17:45] Speaker 5: Yeah, the ray gun, Yeah, it would be like Star
[17:49] Speaker 5: Wars blaster.
[17:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, beat me up.
[17:52] Speaker 3: I have a feeling that's going to be sooner than
[17:54] Speaker 3: one hundred. That's going to be right.
[17:57] Speaker 5: Well, yeah, this thing is amazing.
[17:59] Speaker 2: And the gain twist, a progressive twist, is really going
[18:05] Speaker 2: to be something. And that's an old technology that's probably
[18:07] Speaker 2: been around one hundred years.
[18:08] Speaker 3: Telling me your story show yes, it's great.
[18:10] Speaker 1: I told Jim earlier somebody had sent a video to
[18:13] Speaker 1: my husband, was like, oh my gosh, this is so cool,
[18:16] Speaker 1: and he's like, I have a muzzleloader that hasn't gained
[18:18] Speaker 1: twisted it.
[18:19] Speaker 3: Yes, that new technology.
[18:24] Speaker 1: You may be new for some people, but for some
[18:26] Speaker 1: it's not new.
[18:28] Speaker 3: That's funny.
[18:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's pretty much true. If you've been
[18:34] Speaker 2: around this for a while, you realize that all the
[18:37] Speaker 2: new things somebody probably did it fifty or even one
[18:40] Speaker 2: hundred and fifty years ago.
[18:42] Speaker 1: Right, And part of it is you've not heard it
[18:45] Speaker 1: referred to before. No, it's been there, but nobody's talked
[18:50] Speaker 1: about the fact that it's.
[18:51] Speaker 3: Gain I've heard the variable twist, yeah, you know, which
[18:56] Speaker 3: is the same thing. It starts off so started starting.
[18:58] Speaker 2: Out real slow and then just the twist spins up
[19:01] Speaker 2: and spins the bullet faster and faster as it goes
[19:03] Speaker 2: down the barrel.
[19:05] Speaker 1: What happens when you go across the other side of
[19:06] Speaker 1: the country though, I wondered if that was the bearable part.
[19:16] Speaker 2: Okay, in Australia, do they turn the other direction?
[19:20] Speaker 5: Yeah?
[19:21] Speaker 3: Well, would Chubby Checker have to say about this, let's
[19:24] Speaker 3: twist again?
[19:25] Speaker 5: I see where you're going there. I pick up on that.
[19:29] Speaker 3: We're dating ourselves. Nobody else will date it.
[19:31] Speaker 5: Nobody else will, but.
[19:35] Speaker 1: No, it is. It is exciting. It's definitely gonna shake
[19:38] Speaker 1: some things up. And it's interesting in that the six
[19:42] Speaker 1: is such a great bullet to choose to improve up
[19:46] Speaker 1: on because the only thing that you can really do,
[19:49] Speaker 1: because it's fairly flat, The only thing you can do
[19:51] Speaker 1: is make it better faster, right, I mean.
[19:58] Speaker 3: Yeah, or it gets to you can't go too fast
[20:01] Speaker 3: otherwise it'll just just blow apart. I know, the twist
[20:04] Speaker 3: comes into pot. I mean, is it just is there
[20:06] Speaker 3: if even with the aga Okay.
[20:09] Speaker 1: The performance isn't the bullet.
[20:11] Speaker 3: Now, you can blow up a bullet in the air,
[20:13] Speaker 3: that's what I mean, after it gets it.
[20:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we're doing that currently with some bullets.
[20:18] Speaker 2: You shoot him out of a or two twenty swift
[20:21] Speaker 2: and you'll actually see a little vapor in the bullet
[20:24] Speaker 2: won't hit the target at one hundred yards. It literally
[20:27] Speaker 2: adamizes and goes to pieces in the air before it
[20:30] Speaker 2: gets it.
[20:31] Speaker 5: Just the spin rate is too fast.
[20:34] Speaker 2: Oh, you got to use the right bullets, or I
[20:36] Speaker 2: want to switch to something I was when I talked
[20:38] Speaker 2: to Mike Mahowsky. I talked to him after we record
[20:43] Speaker 2: the interview and was talking to him about a truck gun.
[20:48] Speaker 2: He mentioned that on the air, But I'm really of
[20:51] Speaker 2: the opinion that a short barrel SBR or pistol uh
[20:58] Speaker 2: ar type gun with a can maybe the perfect truck gun.
[21:04] Speaker 5: I'm kind of leaning in that direction, yep.
[21:06] Speaker 3: And tell the reasons why.
[21:09] Speaker 2: Well, it's short so you can get it into a case,
[21:12] Speaker 2: so it doesn't look like a gun. It's short because
[21:14] Speaker 2: it's maneuverable. If you had to do something actually inside
[21:17] Speaker 2: of a vehicle, you could still do that. I do
[21:21] Speaker 2: as much as I like pistol caliber carbing ideas, I
[21:24] Speaker 2: do like the idea of a rifle caliber because it
[21:27] Speaker 2: is considerably more powerful. The only problem with that if
[21:31] Speaker 2: it's a five five six is that a eleven inch
[21:35] Speaker 2: barrel five five to six is unbelievably loud, and that's
[21:41] Speaker 2: where you really have to have a suppressor on. So
[21:45] Speaker 2: you put all those together and I'm thinking, I suppressed
[21:50] Speaker 2: super short barrel ar will be a pretty good truck
[21:54] Speaker 2: self defense gun.
[21:55] Speaker 3: You thinking like three hundred or standard, I'm.
[22:00] Speaker 2: Kind of thinking five to five six instead of three
[22:02] Speaker 2: hundred bluckout.
[22:03] Speaker 3: Just for availability, and I don't know, I.
[22:06] Speaker 5: Mean, I could be persuaded either way.
[22:08] Speaker 2: And I'm going to have another follow up conversation with
[22:11] Speaker 2: Mike and probably a couple of other people who I
[22:13] Speaker 2: know who you are in that space to get their
[22:16] Speaker 2: thoughts on it.
[22:18] Speaker 3: Now, the advantage effective range wise, compare the two between
[22:22] Speaker 3: car being and a oh.
[22:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, well with a five five six, even with a
[22:27] Speaker 2: eleven to twelve inch barrel, you're you got a three
[22:30] Speaker 2: hundred dard rifle versus carbing with a yeah, one hundred
[22:36] Speaker 2: yards for a nine millimeter or a forty five or
[22:38] Speaker 2: even a ten milimeter pistol cali er carbing. So yeah,
[22:42] Speaker 2: it's considerably more powerful, hits harder, but also you got
[22:45] Speaker 2: real range. So that that idea that that we had
[22:48] Speaker 2: the caller who said you are one to six variable
[22:51] Speaker 2: scope party, you keep it on one for self defense situations,
[22:55] Speaker 2: and then in the rare but possible situation where you
[22:58] Speaker 2: actually had to shoot out at two n three hundred
[23:01] Speaker 2: yards at six power, you're good to go.
[23:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, and definitely do the SBR over the
[23:06] Speaker 1: pistol because you get that little more length of the barrel,
[23:09] Speaker 1: which in the end gives you better results as well.
[23:12] Speaker 1: So steering away from the pistols.
[23:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit longer on the stock. So yeah,
[23:20] Speaker 2: so that can be vulnerable too, Yes, absolutely can be fallible.
[23:25] Speaker 2: The only downside to the SBR now you got to
[23:28] Speaker 2: do the paperwork. But that's easy and doesn't cost anything.
[23:32] Speaker 2: There are still rules about notifying ATF when you travel
[23:37] Speaker 2: out of state with SBR. Right, you don't have to
[23:41] Speaker 2: do that.
[23:41] Speaker 5: With a pistol, okay, But.
[23:45] Speaker 2: But ATF is talking about changing that rule and make
[23:50] Speaker 2: it so you don't have to do that notification. So
[23:52] Speaker 2: if that comes to pass, then that would really make
[23:55] Speaker 2: an SBR attractive.
[23:56] Speaker 3: That pretty much steals the deal there.
[24:00] Speaker 2: That there are some states where an SBR is not
[24:02] Speaker 2: legal and an AR pistol is.
[24:07] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's stupid, but carry both and they say that's illegal.
[24:11] Speaker 3: May be so observed, this one isn't.
[24:14] Speaker 2: What you do is you have quick replaced stocks. Put
[24:19] Speaker 2: an SBR stock on our pistol stock.
[24:22] Speaker 5: What is it today? I don't know what do you
[24:24] Speaker 5: want it to be?
[24:25] Speaker 1: What we in?
[24:27] Speaker 5: That's right? Who stayed a confusion? That's where we are.
[24:32] Speaker 2: Anyway, I'll keep you posted I'm going to do some
[24:34] Speaker 2: more research on that, and headed down to Louisiana. I'm
[24:38] Speaker 2: gonna spend the next week down at Rains ready, and
[24:40] Speaker 2: I'll see what they have in the vault there.
[24:42] Speaker 5: That I can play with.
[24:43] Speaker 3: Cool.
[24:44] Speaker 2: Let us know it's fine, right, yeah, other people's other
[24:49] Speaker 2: people's guns.
[24:49] Speaker 3: Let's go shoot them, right, all right, we'll travel safe,
[24:54] Speaker 3: my friend.
[24:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, and you guys stay safe, you know, be aware,
[24:58] Speaker 2: be alert, and if it all worried about something, don't
[25:01] Speaker 2: go there.
[25:02] Speaker 3: Right.
[25:02] Speaker 1: Well, that's what I said to Jim. I'm like, you know,
[25:04] Speaker 1: the worst part is we're just at the start of
[25:06] Speaker 1: fears festivals, all these community activities, so.
[25:11] Speaker 3: They already shut that one down and said they didn't
[25:13] Speaker 3: run it today. And there's a couple of ones talking
[25:14] Speaker 3: about cancering all together. And there was a shooting week
[25:17] Speaker 3: ago at another festival. At your time, you didn't know
[25:19] Speaker 3: about it.
[25:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand, all right, yeah, you know, and if
[25:23] Speaker 2: you don't put them in prison, they keep doing it.
[25:25] Speaker 2: And if you put them in prison, they are not
[25:27] Speaker 2: going to be repeat offender, as simple as that same man.
[25:31] Speaker 1: All right, we say, you guys, we'll catch you next
[25:34] Speaker 1: time for the gun talk. After show,
