[0:00] Speaker 1: The world's a dangerous place. Get the industry's original and
[0:04] Speaker 1: most trusted laser sighting system from Crimson Trace A laser
[0:08] Speaker 1: and light systems will enhance your effectiveness and help keep
[0:11] Speaker 1: you and your family out of harm's way.
[0:18] Speaker 2: So you've made it through three hours of the regular
[0:20] Speaker 2: show on terrestrial radio, and.
[0:22] Speaker 3: You wanted a little bit more.
[0:23] Speaker 2: So that's why you found the gun Talk After Show
[0:25] Speaker 2: podcast where we saved all the best things that we
[0:27] Speaker 2: can't say on regular radio. Now here's Tom, Michelle and
[0:30] Speaker 2: Jim for the gun Talk after show, all right after
[0:33] Speaker 2: show time.
[0:34] Speaker 4: Here we got Jim Cansey, Michelle Cleveland's with us, and
[0:37] Speaker 4: Jim missed his own fan club of one right here.
[0:40] Speaker 5: I am on getting turned up on today by you guys.
[0:44] Speaker 6: Yes you are. It's right.
[0:45] Speaker 4: We were whooping up on him right before we opened
[0:47] Speaker 4: the mics. That was fun, actually tracked Michelle. I enjoyed
[0:50] Speaker 4: that part of the show. Accurately nobody gets to hear it.
[0:54] Speaker 3: Little chits and accurate.
[0:56] Speaker 5: Actually the duds were accurate.
[0:58] Speaker 6: I'll take you that rout there. He's got on it.
[1:01] Speaker 7: Man, there it is you want to you want to
[1:04] Speaker 7: dig on Fred?
[1:07] Speaker 4: He seems like a nice guy, right, is that they
[1:11] Speaker 4: call that projection wow, which is better than projectile.
[1:17] Speaker 6: Hey, thanks for having it in.
[1:19] Speaker 8: There, man, absolutely, thanksfully for taking the call. Tom. Now
[1:24] Speaker 8: you talked about from the earliest show we were talking
[1:27] Speaker 8: about the you know, the anti gunners and the judge.
[1:31] Speaker 8: Part of that is the judicial system and how messed
[1:33] Speaker 8: up the judicial system is. And I think it actually
[1:36] Speaker 8: has a lot to do with all the all the
[1:38] Speaker 8: woes we're seeing what they call it gun violence, which
[1:41] Speaker 8: really is gun violence, is violence in general. But they
[1:44] Speaker 8: for the you know, they get their own little narrative
[1:46] Speaker 8: that they throw into it to juice it up for
[1:48] Speaker 8: their own for their own, for their own purposes. And
[1:51] Speaker 8: I think what we're seeing is we're seeing a lot
[1:53] Speaker 8: of these judicial judgments are actually creating a lot of
[1:58] Speaker 8: the problems that are exist. Thing that we see happening.
[2:01] Speaker 8: The reason one that the White House is this this
[2:04] Speaker 8: this crazy twenty one year old kid who sat there
[2:08] Speaker 8: in the east side of the you know, a gunfight
[2:09] Speaker 8: with the security forces over there at the White House.
[2:12] Speaker 8: A couple of weeks prior to that, he shows up
[2:14] Speaker 8: to the White House demanding that they arrest him because
[2:17] Speaker 8: and he claimed he claims to be Jesus Christ. It's like,
[2:20] Speaker 8: come on, there's something going on here. You know, these
[2:23] Speaker 8: people are not the judges aren't taking these sentencings seriously,
[2:28] Speaker 8: or the system in general hasn't taken these these situations
[2:31] Speaker 8: seriously enough to act when they have the opportunity to
[2:34] Speaker 8: act to prevent the things these situations from taking place,
[2:38] Speaker 8: and they do it deliberately. I think it's I think
[2:40] Speaker 8: it's a deliberate act. And I think they should be
[2:42] Speaker 8: a judicial review. When a judge passes on a well
[2:47] Speaker 8: known bad person, criminal, career criminal and put them back
[2:52] Speaker 8: on the street with no restrictions at all. I think
[2:56] Speaker 8: it's time that the judges should be answering that these
[2:59] Speaker 8: for these call for the judgments.
[3:01] Speaker 4: Let me ask you a question here. I agree with
[3:03] Speaker 4: everything you said, but I got a question. We probably
[3:07] Speaker 4: we don't we don't have the answer, but I'm just
[3:08] Speaker 4: curious of what your thoughts are. Why do you think
[3:12] Speaker 4: I mean, judges generally not stupid. There are some that are,
[3:16] Speaker 4: but most, for the most part, they're not stupid. They're
[3:18] Speaker 4: looking at this guy, and this guy's a real problem.
[3:20] Speaker 4: I mean, he's We're going to see him over and
[3:22] Speaker 4: over again. Why would they release him? What's going on here?
[3:28] Speaker 8: I think I think that there's something to do. It's
[3:30] Speaker 8: politically politically motivated, politically driven, politically a narrative behind it
[3:37] Speaker 8: has to do with this whole I don't know if
[3:39] Speaker 8: it's I don't know if it's the the less progressive communists,
[3:44] Speaker 8: socialists whatever takeover the country, Damn the system, damn the constitution,
[3:49] Speaker 8: damn the Bill of Rights, and damned everything else. It
[3:52] Speaker 8: has to do with a takedown as to do with
[3:56] Speaker 8: Ian's call it a plot, but a reason why, you know,
[3:59] Speaker 8: these judgments keep coming down. I think that they're twisting
[4:01] Speaker 8: the arms that these judges saying, play with us, or
[4:05] Speaker 8: you know, we will we will bury you. I think
[4:07] Speaker 8: they're they're under the run of some type of restraint
[4:10] Speaker 8: constraint to play along or you know, be damned job security.
[4:14] Speaker 4: And we know that a lot of the money for
[4:16] Speaker 4: some of these judges and especially the district attorneys is
[4:19] Speaker 4: coming from sorrows.
[4:21] Speaker 8: Knowing the money is not that that's that's I think
[4:23] Speaker 8: that's the main I think that that's the main motivator
[4:26] Speaker 8: right there. There's so much doc money flying around, taxpayer money,
[4:30] Speaker 8: a lot of it, but nobody's even talking about that yet.
[4:33] Speaker 4: Well, that's the interesting point we've learned about that taxpayer
[4:36] Speaker 4: money goes to an n g O that's supposed to
[4:39] Speaker 4: be is doing good work out there, non governmental organization,
[4:42] Speaker 4: and then it turns right around and feeds money back
[4:45] Speaker 4: into the liberal causes. And it's just a way for
[4:49] Speaker 4: the liberals to take money out of our pockets and
[4:52] Speaker 4: to use it to further their political power. And we're
[4:56] Speaker 4: finally starting to hear a little bit about that. The
[4:58] Speaker 4: doage folks from you on Musk uncovered a lot of it,
[5:02] Speaker 4: and then of course a lot of folks in DC
[5:04] Speaker 4: wanted that information to go away because they're all in
[5:07] Speaker 4: on it.
[5:08] Speaker 8: Of course. Yeah, absolutely, I appreciate you. Appreciate your background
[5:12] Speaker 8: in aviation bringing up the you know, I was. I
[5:15] Speaker 8: was in aviation for pretty much my entire life. Since
[5:19] Speaker 8: it's silly seventeen years old. It flew commercially for thirty
[5:22] Speaker 8: eight years with a commuter airline, all in aircraft under
[5:25] Speaker 8: twelve five for thirty seven thousand hours.
[5:29] Speaker 6: Wow, let me explain you.
[5:30] Speaker 4: If people I don't know aircraft under twelve thousand, five
[5:34] Speaker 4: hundred pounds, there is a specific regulation that if they're
[5:38] Speaker 4: over that, you needed type rating, and if under that,
[5:40] Speaker 4: you don't need a type rating.
[5:41] Speaker 6: So what what we find?
[5:43] Speaker 8: Mostly mostly four H twos, that's the four ROH two
[5:46] Speaker 8: seeds nine passages at a time of the regional landline.
[5:50] Speaker 6: Were you fought? Were you find Cape Air?
[5:53] Speaker 8: I am k Cape Airy tiree? Yes?
[5:56] Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I'm thinking, all right, who do I know
[5:58] Speaker 4: who fights four H two? It's Cape Air is the
[6:01] Speaker 4: only outfit I knew that was flying Cape. And you're
[6:03] Speaker 4: going out to Nantucket and uh.
[6:08] Speaker 8: In the Caribbean. They're out in the Citiure out in
[6:10] Speaker 8: the Chicago area. The DIN battered around the country, primarily
[6:15] Speaker 8: in the Cape Cape and islands, but they did cat
[6:17] Speaker 8: it all over the place.
[6:19] Speaker 6: Isn't that something? Okay? Well congratulations? Yeah.
[6:22] Speaker 4: And there definitely are correlations between the risk management assessment
[6:26] Speaker 4: that we do between firearms and aviation.
[6:28] Speaker 6: I use it all the time.
[6:30] Speaker 8: You put your you put your hands on the yolk
[6:32] Speaker 8: of an airplane, you pick up a firearm. You know
[6:34] Speaker 8: it's the same, respect same, You know this, it's exactly
[6:37] Speaker 8: the same. You know the same, respect, the same, you know,
[6:41] Speaker 8: the responsibility, it's all the same. You can't have one
[6:44] Speaker 8: without the other.
[6:45] Speaker 4: There you go, Fred, thank you for the call. Very
[6:48] Speaker 4: interesting and appreciate it. Do you take care of my friend?
[6:50] Speaker 4: That was fun. That's uh yeah, yeah. Cape Air flies
[6:53] Speaker 4: to uh oh Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and a lot of those.
[6:57] Speaker 4: Assessment four oh two is a big old twin engine
[7:00] Speaker 4: piston plane. Yeah, but it's it's not pressurized them and
[7:05] Speaker 4: because they're not flying very high.
[7:06] Speaker 5: Right over it's over ten thousand, you have to do that.
[7:12] Speaker 4: Yeah, generally eight to ten thousand, you'd want to be pressurized.
[7:15] Speaker 4: And they're just doing these short hops of an hour
[7:17] Speaker 4: or less, so they're not going real high.
[7:19] Speaker 5: He had me at Cayman Islands. I was pretty interested.
[7:24] Speaker 4: Yeah, but if you're find now that it's a different thing.
[7:26] Speaker 4: If you're going from New York to the Cayman Islands.
[7:27] Speaker 4: I think that's the different You know, if you go
[7:31] Speaker 4: United down to Miami and then.
[7:32] Speaker 6: You get on Kpe air you go something like that.
[7:37] Speaker 6: Fun stuff. So so I am now a graduate of
[7:42] Speaker 6: two different schools over the last couple of weeks.
[7:44] Speaker 5: YE talk to us.
[7:46] Speaker 4: Well, you know, the gun Slight thing was great fun.
[7:48] Speaker 4: I'd taken the class before, and I honestly just kind
[7:52] Speaker 4: of wanted to see where my skill level was, because
[7:54] Speaker 4: you got to offen ask the question, how do you
[7:56] Speaker 4: know if you're any good?
[7:57] Speaker 6: How do you know where you are?
[7:59] Speaker 4: And so, you know, you go take the class and
[8:01] Speaker 4: figure out when you get your certificate.
[8:03] Speaker 6: You get not exactly a grade, but you.
[8:07] Speaker 4: Can get a certificate of achievement, which meant you took
[8:10] Speaker 4: the class what subtly says you probably need to come
[8:13] Speaker 4: back and take it, you know again, and with that
[8:17] Speaker 4: you cannot advance to the next class. Oh, Marksman is
[8:22] Speaker 4: the next level up, and if you get marksmen, then
[8:26] Speaker 4: you can advance to the next class.
[8:27] Speaker 6: And Marksman one.
[8:29] Speaker 4: Is a great higher than that, and then the only
[8:32] Speaker 4: thing above that is expert. And they don't give those
[8:35] Speaker 4: out very often, maybe one a class and maybe one
[8:39] Speaker 4: every five or six classes. It's only if some they
[8:43] Speaker 4: instructors think somebody has earned it. In some classes don't
[8:46] Speaker 4: have anybody who makes expert. And it's not like a
[8:50] Speaker 4: particular score you have to shoot or anything. It's these
[8:53] Speaker 4: experience range masters watching you and saying, yeah, this person
[8:57] Speaker 4: qualifies as an expert. So I mean, I knew I
[9:02] Speaker 4: wasn't gonna make expert because I was rusties all get out,
[9:05] Speaker 4: but I was happy I made Marchman one.
[9:06] Speaker 6: Which is the next level down.
[9:08] Speaker 4: So they said, yeah, you can go on and take
[9:10] Speaker 4: the other classes. And then they said, but you know,
[9:13] Speaker 4: I'm not sure I would. It just was really interesting
[9:16] Speaker 4: how often they say the same thing. Just come back
[9:20] Speaker 4: and take that same class, tune it up, work on
[9:23] Speaker 4: your skills because there's only one set of skills. It's
[9:25] Speaker 4: not like you're trying to develop new skills with these
[9:27] Speaker 4: other classes.
[9:29] Speaker 6: You know, we're going to.
[9:30] Speaker 4: Learn to shoot, load, draw, move, work through houses. They
[9:35] Speaker 4: have a dry wash area they call the Donga, and
[9:39] Speaker 4: you're walking through this dry wash out in Arizona with
[9:41] Speaker 4: little cuts here, and there were steel targets that as
[9:44] Speaker 4: you take the next step, a target will start to appear.
[9:47] Speaker 4: It's great because you'll see the top of the head.
[9:50] Speaker 4: But they say, if it's got red pants on, you
[9:53] Speaker 4: can't shoot it. That's a no shoot. So you have
[9:55] Speaker 4: to find a way to maneuver so you can see
[9:57] Speaker 4: the red paint at the bottom of the steel target.
[10:00] Speaker 4: It teaches you that not everything out there is something
[10:03] Speaker 4: that needs to be shot.
[10:05] Speaker 5: Kind of like real life.
[10:06] Speaker 4: Even uh yeah, it is very good training for real life.
[10:12] Speaker 3: Can you use it in real life?
[10:15] Speaker 6: Well, yeah, don't shoot the people in red pants.
[10:17] Speaker 4: So the other lesson from that is we all should
[10:20] Speaker 4: be wearing red pants.
[10:21] Speaker 3: Ye, more red pants at least it's not white.
[10:27] Speaker 6: Yeah, that's rights exactly.
[10:29] Speaker 5: I'm wearing pants at all this time because you know,
[10:32] Speaker 5: long time she.
[10:33] Speaker 3: Comes, Yes, thank you, Yeah, there he goes, you having
[10:36] Speaker 3: you know, hence.
[10:38] Speaker 4: Off my Yeah, yes, he had his one beer of
[10:43] Speaker 4: the year. Actually, I think as you say, somebody slipped
[10:47] Speaker 4: you a beer, I mean you don't for people. No,
[10:50] Speaker 4: you don't drink at all, like nothing. No, I didn't,
[10:52] Speaker 4: like quite a while. And I had a dream I
[10:54] Speaker 4: didn't happen, but I had a dream that oh that's right.
[10:57] Speaker 6: It was a dream.
[10:57] Speaker 7: It's like it was I woke up going on man,
[11:00] Speaker 7: and it wasn't like, oh I have an alcohol issue
[11:02] Speaker 7: and I'm gonna wear It's like.
[11:03] Speaker 5: I was on a roll. I don't want to screw
[11:05] Speaker 5: that up.
[11:06] Speaker 6: That's right.
[11:07] Speaker 4: It's having anything to drink for years, right, yeah, drink.
[11:11] Speaker 5: I got up and had a drink. Of course, that's
[11:13] Speaker 5: what you're doing.
[11:13] Speaker 6: Oh I hope, so yeah, that's right, just kidding.
[11:18] Speaker 7: Yeah, because the problem won't be there when I problem
[11:21] Speaker 7: goes away when I drank right.
[11:23] Speaker 4: So I made up some ribs yesterday and I don't
[11:27] Speaker 4: really have experience cooking ribs, and I didn't look up
[11:31] Speaker 4: a recipe. I just said I'm just gonna wing it,
[11:33] Speaker 4: and it turned out great. The first thing I did
[11:37] Speaker 4: was a pretty heavy layer of brown sugar, you start
[11:41] Speaker 4: start with that, and then a big heavy layer of pepper,
[11:46] Speaker 4: and then one of like a mixed it's a mix
[11:49] Speaker 4: of truffle and pepper, and that was good, and then
[11:53] Speaker 4: a kosher salt on top of that, and then a
[11:57] Speaker 4: real nice barbecue rub on top of that, a rib rub,
[12:02] Speaker 4: and then he throw it in the tragger smoker for
[12:05] Speaker 4: about three hours at two seventy five. I also threw
[12:09] Speaker 4: baked potatoes in there, baking potatoes, and then when I
[12:12] Speaker 4: pull the ribs out, I cranked it up to five
[12:15] Speaker 4: hundred on the potatoes and they came out with like
[12:18] Speaker 4: crispy skins.
[12:19] Speaker 6: Eyes, great making.
[12:22] Speaker 5: I'm gonna say, he's gonna have a really short after show.
[12:24] Speaker 6: After break, he's gonna come back to the break and
[12:26] Speaker 6: we won't.
[12:26] Speaker 9: Be here smacking our lips.
[12:31] Speaker 3: Licking our fingers.
[12:33] Speaker 4: I hope pass out there cooking those ribs right now.
[12:36] Speaker 4: Not well, I have more ribs than Tomorrow is the
[12:40] Speaker 4: day off.
[12:41] Speaker 6: So there you go.
[12:42] Speaker 3: So short notice. I'll see what we can get for flights.
[12:46] Speaker 4: Yeah, check into that. It sounds really absolutely yeah. All right,
[12:50] Speaker 4: let's take a break. We'll come back. We'll talk about
[12:52] Speaker 4: this intersection between flying in guns, or as we like
[12:56] Speaker 4: to say, turning money into noise. Put all your gear
[13:06] Speaker 4: on that you carry and then roll around on the ground. Now,
[13:09] Speaker 4: get up all your gear that's on the ground. That's
[13:11] Speaker 4: what you're not gonna have in a fight.
[13:12] Speaker 1: Gun Talk should be in your podcast feed. Check out
[13:15] Speaker 1: gun Talk Nation. What's it like to be blown up?
[13:18] Speaker 6: You know?
[13:18] Speaker 9: If it's like C four, it's almost like a smack
[13:22] Speaker 9: hunting Yeah, we talked about that too.
[13:24] Speaker 8: On your crosshairs, I like a thin crosshair.
[13:27] Speaker 1: Ang, you're really dating yourself by calling things crosshairs.
[13:30] Speaker 6: You're redical whatever.
[13:32] Speaker 1: Have some fun and stay informed with the gun Talk podcast.
[13:42] Speaker 4: All right, that couldn't here, Michelle. I'll send you the
[13:44] Speaker 4: picture of me back in the back country there.
[13:46] Speaker 3: Yes, that was fun.
[13:50] Speaker 9: I'm sure that's a class that you're very happy you took.
[13:55] Speaker 6: It is.
[13:55] Speaker 4: There's a very experienced backcountry pilot. In his classes is
[14:01] Speaker 4: for the year, will book up in about two hours.
[14:04] Speaker 6: Wow.
[14:04] Speaker 4: When he says, okay, I'm taking so And the great
[14:08] Speaker 4: part is his hangar is two doors down from my
[14:11] Speaker 4: hangar at the local airport. So, but I've been trying
[14:15] Speaker 4: for three years to get on the list to take
[14:17] Speaker 4: the class from him.
[14:19] Speaker 3: Did you fly when you were in Alaska?
[14:22] Speaker 6: That's where I learned to fly?
[14:23] Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I got my license when I was in
[14:25] Speaker 4: Alaska because, like God, it seems like a natural. I
[14:28] Speaker 4: got to do that here right in forty nineteen eighty four.
[14:35] Speaker 4: So I, however, long ago that forty three years ago, Yeah,
[14:38] Speaker 4: you figured how to do it.
[14:40] Speaker 6: Time me at Orville, you know, orbal and Wilburn. They
[14:43] Speaker 6: were nice.
[14:44] Speaker 3: Hey, we know those guys are for a while.
[14:46] Speaker 6: Yeah, that's sure, you.
[14:47] Speaker 5: Do that's right, I'm strong all those other parts, right.
[14:52] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. And anybody hasn't been there to go
[14:56] Speaker 4: to the right. Patterson Air Force Museum is a it's
[15:00] Speaker 4: a great air Force museum or airplane museum.
[15:03] Speaker 6: Really. They do a good job there.
[15:06] Speaker 9: They do a good job and in the area has
[15:08] Speaker 9: grown up a lot around all of the the expressway
[15:13] Speaker 9: system and stuff. It's gotten a lot nicer. Cincinnati is
[15:17] Speaker 9: still kind of a crunch, but but Dayton is better.
[15:21] Speaker 6: Okay, all right, you shouldn't be.
[15:25] Speaker 5: Dating, you're married.
[15:26] Speaker 3: Well, yeah, thanks, that's right.
[15:29] Speaker 4: Then get the air plugs out of your ears there, dude,
[15:33] Speaker 4: you know he's got shooting buffs?
[15:35] Speaker 6: What? Yeah? Yeah.
[15:38] Speaker 9: So you say all the time that planes are just
[15:40] Speaker 9: like the firearms. Have you learned anything new in this
[15:44] Speaker 9: class that would follow that up or make that more
[15:49] Speaker 9: realistic for you?
[15:52] Speaker 6: Kind of?
[15:55] Speaker 4: I wasn't getting everything out of my plane that was there.
[16:02] Speaker 4: I was used a perfectly safe technique for takeoff, but
[16:06] Speaker 4: it was I was taking too long to get the
[16:09] Speaker 4: plane off the runway. And the instructor showed me a way.
[16:13] Speaker 4: If he calls it, just pop it off and you
[16:17] Speaker 4: get to a point where normally it'd be like twenty
[16:19] Speaker 4: knots slower than you normally would take off. He said,
[16:22] Speaker 4: just pop that yoke back and you jump right off
[16:25] Speaker 4: the ground and then you fly it in ground effect.
[16:27] Speaker 4: You're basically flying it three feet off the ground. Gotcha,
[16:31] Speaker 4: And so I was able to knock about three hundred
[16:34] Speaker 4: feet off the takeoff roll, which.
[16:36] Speaker 5: Is a lot. That was your rolling resistance, right, yes.
[16:40] Speaker 4: I mean once you get off the ground, you're just
[16:42] Speaker 4: flying in the ground effect. You don't have the rolling resistance.
[16:45] Speaker 4: And some of these airstrips are going into our twelve
[16:47] Speaker 4: hundred feet they're not real long.
[16:48] Speaker 9: That's I say you have shorter fields, yeah, much, but shortly.
[16:53] Speaker 4: Your typical airline feel would be ten to fifteen thousand
[16:56] Speaker 4: feet long, and this is just a little over one
[16:59] Speaker 4: thousand feet, So there's there's short so and then sometimes
[17:05] Speaker 4: I'll have like they're one way in, one way out,
[17:08] Speaker 4: so it's like you're once you commit, And that was
[17:11] Speaker 4: one thing maybe we could draw a parallel there is
[17:14] Speaker 4: that when you're flying, there's a certain point in doing
[17:18] Speaker 4: the approach to an airstrip. Some of these airstrips where okay,
[17:22] Speaker 4: there's your boart point. You can abort here, and there's
[17:25] Speaker 4: where you're going to go. If you fly any further
[17:27] Speaker 4: than that, you are committed to land period regardless if
[17:33] Speaker 4: anything goes wrong, you're still landing. If a deer comes
[17:35] Speaker 4: out on the runway, you're still landing. Because if you
[17:38] Speaker 4: put the power on, all you're going to do is
[17:39] Speaker 4: fly into that mountain. That's right behind the end of
[17:41] Speaker 4: the runway you have to land right, So in terms
[17:45] Speaker 4: of pick your place, try to avoid it. You know,
[17:50] Speaker 4: you got an aboard point, and but when it's time,
[17:54] Speaker 4: you have to commit fully to it. And I thought
[17:57] Speaker 4: that's an interesting parallel. I think you can draw some
[17:59] Speaker 4: parallel else. Good stuff. Yeah, he said, Okay, people talk about,
[18:05] Speaker 4: you know, when you hit the go button or the
[18:07] Speaker 4: mean gene, or when it's time to do the violent act,
[18:11] Speaker 4: do it just commit half way to the thing at.
[18:15] Speaker 7: All, which I can I can definitely see happen because
[18:19] Speaker 7: in a self defense shooting, nobody I know, I should say,
[18:22] Speaker 7: wants to shoot anybody, right, so I could see it,
[18:25] Speaker 7: you know, hesitation there or you know, well maybe I'll
[18:28] Speaker 7: just try to wound them, and you know, into second
[18:30] Speaker 7: guessing yourself once you.
[18:32] Speaker 9: Commit, you got to go, or even the matter of
[18:35] Speaker 9: just drawing you know, am I am I going? You
[18:39] Speaker 9: sit there and you head state like back and forth,
[18:41] Speaker 9: kind of back and forth, and yeah, the whole mind. Well,
[18:45] Speaker 9: it's some more of that, I guess, some more of
[18:48] Speaker 9: that what if stuff that we talk about all the time, right, Like,
[18:53] Speaker 9: I know, this is what I have to do now,
[18:55] Speaker 9: and I've never even thought about the animals coming onto
[18:59] Speaker 9: the landing street up.
[19:00] Speaker 3: That's a whole different thing.
[19:02] Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we had one one landing where it's funny
[19:05] Speaker 4: because Fred's instructor, he says, yeah, he says, this is
[19:08] Speaker 4: the only airstrip where I've had animals several times on
[19:11] Speaker 4: the airstrip, and you do a procedure where you fly
[19:13] Speaker 4: over you orbit it to take a look at it,
[19:15] Speaker 4: because obviously there's no control tower or anything like that.
[19:17] Speaker 4: These are gravel strips or dirt strips out in the
[19:20] Speaker 4: middle of nowhere. And we flew over, didn't see anything.
[19:24] Speaker 4: And then you have to drop down into a canyon
[19:26] Speaker 4: and you're flying along the river. You can't see the
[19:28] Speaker 4: airstrip at all. Then you make a ninety degree turn,
[19:31] Speaker 4: sharp turn on the river and you come out right
[19:34] Speaker 4: in front of the runway. That oop there it is.
[19:36] Speaker 4: And he looks. He says, there's animals on the runway.
[19:38] Speaker 4: And I'm looking, and I'm looking, but huh, there's three
[19:42] Speaker 4: deer right there on the runway. So just add little power,
[19:47] Speaker 4: pick it back up, go over the top of the deer,
[19:49] Speaker 4: and come back down and land on the other side
[19:51] Speaker 4: of them.
[19:52] Speaker 5: Really go around or something.
[19:54] Speaker 4: Yeah, No, there was a If it was real short,
[19:57] Speaker 4: I would have, but in this case there were enough
[20:00] Speaker 4: runway that I knew I was okay landing.
[20:02] Speaker 6: That's cool.
[20:03] Speaker 4: So we had like twenty five out of feet on
[20:04] Speaker 4: that one, which in this case it's pretty long for you.
[20:07] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[20:08] Speaker 4: Yeah, so but it's like we just hop over those
[20:10] Speaker 4: deer and come back down land sweet. It's got fun.
[20:13] Speaker 4: And they took off running of course as you go
[20:15] Speaker 4: over them.
[20:15] Speaker 3: Sure. Right.
[20:16] Speaker 9: Have you ever done any kind of water landing or
[20:21] Speaker 9: I mean like in Alaska the glacier landing or anything
[20:23] Speaker 9: like that.
[20:24] Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a floatplane rating, so I have you
[20:27] Speaker 4: trained in floatplanes and flowing them? And it's uh starry
[20:31] Speaker 4: fuddy with people, you know, and I don't own a floatplane.
[20:34] Speaker 4: And people sometimes we'll say, you know, can you land
[20:36] Speaker 4: this plane on the water? Say yeah, once.
[20:40] Speaker 3: Then it's like the Titanic.
[20:42] Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like that. It's a submarine.
[20:45] Speaker 8: Right.
[20:45] Speaker 5: So, and that's a good thing about floatplane time. You
[20:48] Speaker 5: don't have to worry about that many deer coming on
[20:50] Speaker 5: the runway. Well, it's true, they swim, swimmer.
[20:53] Speaker 6: You know what you have to watch out for jet skis.
[20:57] Speaker 5: I've said watercraft.
[20:58] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[20:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, and for some weird reason on some places, the
[21:04] Speaker 4: jet skiers think it's really fun to run alongside a plane,
[21:09] Speaker 4: a floatplane that's taking off. Well, when you're taking off
[21:12] Speaker 4: in a floatplane, you put the power on, the first
[21:14] Speaker 4: thing that happens is the nose goes way up.
[21:16] Speaker 6: You can't see in front of you.
[21:18] Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, these youngsters love to cut in
[21:23] Speaker 4: front of you. It's like and cut would be a
[21:25] Speaker 4: really appropriate use as I'm swinging this huge meat cleaver
[21:32] Speaker 4: out there.
[21:32] Speaker 5: It's slices and dices, it makes Julian fries.
[21:35] Speaker 4: Yes, they would do all of that and then some
[21:37] Speaker 4: So yeah, I got a two hundred and eighty five
[21:40] Speaker 4: horse power meat cleaver. So yeah, you got to watch out.
[21:45] Speaker 4: You really got to watch out for the jet skiers.
[21:47] Speaker 4: The boats not so much. They're not as insane as
[21:50] Speaker 4: some of the jet skiers. So you know, there's everything's
[21:53] Speaker 4: got its hazards. You know, public ranges as we know.
[21:57] Speaker 9: Right, it's always those people that are seeking content for
[22:00] Speaker 9: their Instagram.
[22:02] Speaker 6: Oh my heavenly, wats how close I can get to
[22:05] Speaker 6: this product?
[22:06] Speaker 8: Right?
[22:07] Speaker 9: Oh well, they we see the same thing though on
[22:10] Speaker 9: the daily news. If you pay attention to the daily news,
[22:13] Speaker 9: the amount of videoing of people being beaten up or course.
[22:19] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[22:20] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you were talking, Jim before it came on
[22:22] Speaker 4: about the takeover stuff, which were they're going to basically
[22:25] Speaker 4: occupy a building or an area or whatever.
[22:28] Speaker 7: Yeah, they just they just get online and say, okay,
[22:30] Speaker 7: we're going to meet at two o'clock at the walmart here,
[22:33] Speaker 7: and we're you know, well getting tacked. So I mean
[22:36] Speaker 7: it's organized, but loosely organized, right, and then just a
[22:39] Speaker 7: bunch of punks are showing up to you know, get silly,
[22:41] Speaker 7: steal stuff, beat up people, do whatever they want, and
[22:44] Speaker 7: knowing that there's so many of them, Yeah, oh yeah,
[22:46] Speaker 7: that's I'm saying, they'll get violent, and there's so many
[22:48] Speaker 7: of them, they know they're going to get away with it, right.
[22:51] Speaker 6: Well, they do until the first one gets shot.
[22:53] Speaker 5: Yeah, we're traveling done.
[22:55] Speaker 4: Typically speaking, When the first one gets shot, the rest
[22:59] Speaker 4: of them run away. And I'm not saying shooting somebody
[23:02] Speaker 4: for take doing a takeover or for stealing, but if
[23:06] Speaker 4: they've become violent, you know, if they start beating on
[23:09] Speaker 4: an old lady or pick up something to hit you
[23:12] Speaker 4: with it.
[23:12] Speaker 6: Oh no, no, no, all bets are off. We have
[23:15] Speaker 6: hit the go button.
[23:16] Speaker 7: Now we are committed, and sadly that's going to have
[23:19] Speaker 7: to happen a couple of times before these these ye.
[23:22] Speaker 4: But all about to say, in listening to this, you
[23:25] Speaker 4: need to have it in your mind of Okay, we're
[23:27] Speaker 4: going to try to get away from your use the
[23:29] Speaker 4: family code word. We're going to try to get out
[23:31] Speaker 4: the back and get away from this stuff. But if
[23:34] Speaker 4: they come at you and they're going to try to
[23:36] Speaker 4: hurt you, then fully commit. You're not talking to them,
[23:40] Speaker 4: you're not trying to get them to stop. You simply
[23:44] Speaker 4: have to do what you got to do. And more
[23:46] Speaker 4: than like you, that's going to be shooting them.
[23:50] Speaker 7: And he's an occupational hazard of their self chosen career.
[23:54] Speaker 4: And unfortunately this is not like saying, well you went
[23:56] Speaker 4: to a bad part of town or you went to
[23:58] Speaker 4: a festival where you know there's a problem.
[23:59] Speaker 7: No, this thing came to you and it's everywhere. It's
[24:02] Speaker 7: not just okay, we're getting all these stores. It's stores,
[24:04] Speaker 7: it's amusement parks.
[24:06] Speaker 9: It's well, how many times you hear somebody say, well
[24:09] Speaker 9: I carry there because you know I'm not from there,
[24:12] Speaker 9: and I'm scared in that area.
[24:14] Speaker 3: Well, that area is everywhere.
[24:17] Speaker 6: Yes, it will, it can come to you.
[24:20] Speaker 5: Yes.
[24:21] Speaker 4: And the other thing is that you got crazy. Is
[24:23] Speaker 4: like this guy at the White House a couple of
[24:25] Speaker 4: days ago. You know, he decides to shoot up a
[24:28] Speaker 4: secret service guard station. Really and he had done something similar,
[24:33] Speaker 4: I mean obviously mentally off well middle meddlely off is
[24:40] Speaker 4: in every neighborhood in every town.
[24:43] Speaker 6: Yeah, and you.
[24:45] Speaker 4: Think a lot other people say, well, why would no stop?
[24:48] Speaker 4: There is no why, there's no why would he pick
[24:51] Speaker 4: on me? Why would he do that to me? I've
[24:53] Speaker 4: never done there is none of that.
[24:55] Speaker 5: But you can't shoot him. He's mentally ill.
[24:58] Speaker 6: Oh watch me.
[25:00] Speaker 5: I want to go home.
[25:01] Speaker 4: You come at me with a great big board or
[25:04] Speaker 4: a knife or something like or screwdriver.
[25:07] Speaker 5: People forget, you don't do it.
[25:09] Speaker 7: You don't do it on the spots cycle analysis of
[25:11] Speaker 7: the patient and I do.
[25:14] Speaker 4: Actually it just goes really really fast. You know, it's like, uh,
[25:22] Speaker 4: he wants.
[25:22] Speaker 6: To hurt me.
[25:23] Speaker 4: I don't want him to hurt me. We have now
[25:26] Speaker 4: reached the end of this analysis. So speaking of that,
[25:30] Speaker 4: I saw a lovely meme which I liked. Is a
[25:34] Speaker 4: man and his wife a therapy session, and the therapist says,
[25:40] Speaker 4: she's upset because you never buy her guns, and the
[25:43] Speaker 4: husband says, I didn't even know she sold guns.
[25:56] Speaker 6: To spin off.
[25:57] Speaker 7: That's a little bit spin off. On the other one,
[26:00] Speaker 7: a gun for my wife. That's one hell of a trade.
[26:05] Speaker 3: Is able to manage to keep the dog in the deal.
[26:09] Speaker 6: There you go. The dog was the tough negotiation though,
[26:13] Speaker 6: you know.
[26:15] Speaker 7: Okay, so ribs, let's get back to the important stuff
[26:17] Speaker 7: your times.
[26:19] Speaker 6: Yes, well, we liked the ribs.
[26:23] Speaker 9: And really let's get to the real important part that
[26:26] Speaker 9: allows us to be united as we're supposed to be,
[26:29] Speaker 9: which is.
[26:29] Speaker 3: The Memorial Day observants that we're coming up on.
[26:33] Speaker 9: Yep, just you know, had right all the sacrifices by
[26:39] Speaker 9: service members throughout our history now.
[26:42] Speaker 4: And the thing is, it's not that they may said
[26:44] Speaker 4: I'm volunteering to go get killed. That's but they volunteered
[26:49] Speaker 4: knowing that that could happen, and they put themselves in
[26:54] Speaker 4: that place. And it's a difference of saying I'm going
[26:58] Speaker 4: it's not suicidal at all. It's just that I am
[27:01] Speaker 4: going to go volunteer to help my country, to fight,
[27:05] Speaker 4: to support my teammates a lot of times, that's as
[27:09] Speaker 4: much as anything. It's you know, I'm there with your
[27:11] Speaker 4: brother and the people and my brothers exactly. And but
[27:18] Speaker 4: they were willing, and I guess that's really what we're
[27:20] Speaker 4: talking about, is they were willing to.
[27:23] Speaker 5: Do that and set any well.
[27:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, and people who don't have cones either or out
[27:31] Speaker 4: there doing it, Michelle, And as the mother and wife
[27:35] Speaker 4: of people who served, that's got to be tough knowing
[27:39] Speaker 4: that you know your loved one has volunteered to go
[27:43] Speaker 4: do that, right.
[27:44] Speaker 9: That's always a risk, but it is because they love
[27:47] Speaker 9: the liberty and freedoms that have come before us, and
[27:51] Speaker 9: unfortunately is blood on many of the grass areas in
[27:55] Speaker 9: our country. So you know, it's important to sit back
[27:59] Speaker 9: and remer what was given, where we are, maybe reflect
[28:04] Speaker 9: on where we want to be and how united we should.
[28:07] Speaker 5: Become again and the cost of all of it.
[28:09] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
[28:11] Speaker 9: So when you go and I don't know how many
[28:14] Speaker 9: people have had the ability to go to DC, but
[28:16] Speaker 9: when you go and you walk past these walls or
[28:19] Speaker 9: some of the different memorials that are set up, it's
[28:24] Speaker 9: some of them are really they hit you hard, as
[28:26] Speaker 9: they say they do, and.
[28:29] Speaker 4: It surprised you. Sometimes it's like I didn't see it coming.
[28:31] Speaker 4: It's just all of a sudden, you go, oh wow,
[28:33] Speaker 4: I'm overwhelmed.
[28:35] Speaker 9: Yes, absolutely, So, you know, they are paying more tribute
[28:39] Speaker 9: to the women.
[28:41] Speaker 3: And there's a lot, there's a lot of women in
[28:44] Speaker 3: history that have you know, played really important roles.
[28:49] Speaker 9: And then obviously now they serve next to the men
[28:52] Speaker 9: for a lot of it.
[28:54] Speaker 3: It's it's you know, it's come a long way.
[28:56] Speaker 9: But yeah, to everybody who has been out there and serve,
[29:01] Speaker 9: this is this is the day to remember what they
[29:04] Speaker 9: gave us, what they.
[29:06] Speaker 1: Unfortunately everything.
[29:08] Speaker 3: Yeah, they gave.
[29:08] Speaker 4: Us everything, right, everything they had, everything they will have
[29:11] Speaker 4: ever would have had.
[29:12] Speaker 3: Yeah, And well there.
[29:13] Speaker 7: It is so their families really, I mean their families.
[29:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing.
[29:19] Speaker 9: I was just going to say to any person out
[29:21] Speaker 9: there that has any kind of family member in the military,
[29:25] Speaker 9: we're all in it, you know, when you have one
[29:27] Speaker 9: person there, you're all in it.
[29:29] Speaker 6: Ye.
[29:31] Speaker 4: So, And I will leave you with this thought which
[29:33] Speaker 4: is completely off of that, but I'm thinking back to
[29:35] Speaker 4: your takeover thing and just I'm thinking, here, Jim, a
[29:40] Speaker 4: pepper ball machine gun, gatling gun, a gatling gun, firing gun,
[29:46] Speaker 4: pepper and pepper balls those that pop, and now you
[29:49] Speaker 4: got pepper spray and you can just you know, because
[29:52] Speaker 4: you got several hundred people here and they all are deserving,
[29:55] Speaker 4: they all at least deserve one DOS and.
[29:58] Speaker 5: Just it's not lethal. So yeah, it's non.
[30:02] Speaker 4: Lethal, and you know, basically doing an area of suppression
[30:05] Speaker 4: deal with pepper spray. But I just kind of like
[30:07] Speaker 4: the whole idea of the pepper ball machine gun. I've
[30:10] Speaker 4: just come up with that.
[30:11] Speaker 5: Do you like that I've worked on that.
[30:13] Speaker 6: They're probably is one already. I'm sure they have that,
[30:16] Speaker 6: don't you know?
[30:17] Speaker 3: If not, you know people in the street town.
[30:20] Speaker 6: Oh, you know what we can go like early early
[30:23] Speaker 6: we can go pepper ball.
[30:25] Speaker 9: Slingshots, very primitive, very very primitive.
[30:30] Speaker 6: That's right.
[30:32] Speaker 4: We can go to the early primitive season for that, right,
[30:35] Speaker 4: primitive weapons seasons.
[30:38] Speaker 6: I'm kind of liking this whole thing.
[30:39] Speaker 9: Imagine how many people have the little daisies hanging out their.
[30:42] Speaker 3: Back pockets and whip them out, and.
[30:47] Speaker 4: Then of course there's always somebody who wants to have
[30:48] Speaker 4: a trabuche academy.
[30:51] Speaker 6: We are right with a fifty pounds pepper ball.
[30:55] Speaker 5: Why do I see nothing but money, Python movies.
[30:58] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's exactly right, exactly well, you guys, enjoy
[31:03] Speaker 4: your ribs and obviously remember why we are remembering.
[31:07] Speaker 6: Because, as you said, some gave all.
[31:10] Speaker 8: Ye, so there it is, and have a good week guys,
[31:13] Speaker 8: you too, Thanks.
[31:15] Speaker 2: We'll catch you next time for the gun talk after show.
