While Timur conquered the known world, he never held the title of Khan. This episode explores his complex relationship with the Chagatai Khanate and the descendants of Genghis Khan. We examine how he married into the ruling lineage to gain the title Sahib-i Qiran, yet remained excluded from the Golden Lineage (Altyn Uruq). Lucas and Luna discuss the political maneuvering behind his marriages to Saray Mulk Khanum and his daughter’s unions, the symbolic weight of the white banner, and why his grandson Ulugh Beg had to rebuild legitimacy through astronomy rather than blood. This story reveals the deep-seated tension between military power and hereditary right in Central Asia. #Timur #Tamerlane #Sahib-i_Qiran #Chagatai_Khanate #Golden_Lineage #Altyn_Uruq #Sarai_Mulk_Khanum #Ulugh_Beg #Shah_Rukh #Barlas #Mongol_Legacy #Central_Asian_History #Genghis_Khan #Timurid_Empire #Samarkand #Kesh #Yassa #History #FexingoHistory Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
