Joel gets Below Deck with Jason Chambers but keeps it above board with Juliet Mayhew (not really tbh). The group talks about the razzle-dazzle of reality TV and the future of their shows. Also, a definitive answer is given about who’s a better captain, Jason or Sandy, as Jason talks about Sandy’s impact on the industry. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

[0:00] Speaker 1: Get ready, it's Joel Creasy, Joe Joe Shows.
[0:11] Speaker 2: Welcome to the Joel Crazy Show podcast. And I realized
[0:15] Speaker 2: we spoke about it, we dedicated to breaks to it,
[0:18] Speaker 2: which you know we're type for time on this show,
[0:20] Speaker 2: so that's a big deal. But it still wasn't a
[0:23] Speaker 2: big enough to deal talking about Hoy You fan Fest.
[0:25] Speaker 2: So she's she's come back in there, Queen of news.
[0:29] Speaker 2: So I was just so thrilled. We sent as like
[0:31] Speaker 2: our roving report, like no one's sending someone of Michelle
[0:34] Speaker 2: Stevenson's color, but as the roven reporter to how you FanFest?
[0:38] Speaker 1: But you did it with a my new favorite word, blom.
[0:41] Speaker 3: Well, I have to say, as you know, I mean
[0:43] Speaker 3: you and I are both massive fans of Hoy You.
[0:46] Speaker 3: I cannot get enough of it. And so how You
[0:48] Speaker 3: FanFest is kind of like Christmas for us. Yeah, I
[0:51] Speaker 3: was like super excited.
[0:52] Speaker 1: It's like Comic Connor they now do like drag.
[0:56] Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah. It was like and like in the
[0:58] Speaker 3: US is called brother Con, which goes on on for
[1:00] Speaker 3: a couple of days and it's in Vegas. But like, look,
[1:02] Speaker 3: this was the Hordeen for Pavilion. Thousands of fans were there,
[1:06] Speaker 3: people were getting dressed up. We had drag queens. I mean,
[1:09] Speaker 3: the only thing missing, the one thing I would have
[1:11] Speaker 3: liked to have seen is a sprinter.
[1:13] Speaker 2: Van Erin and I have been saying on a god
[1:17] Speaker 2: Michelle had the best idea. They needed a sprint.
[1:21] Speaker 1: Reminds me of the Manografter party. Yeah right, emphasis on
[1:26] Speaker 1: the hall part. Yeah, yeah. So it was it weird
[1:29] Speaker 1: being there by daylight.
[1:31] Speaker 3: Look, I mean it was daylight outside, but on the
[1:33] Speaker 3: inside it was like all party like people would There
[1:36] Speaker 3: were drinks flowing, people were getting into it. We started
[1:39] Speaker 3: off with Derinda doing her DJ set, going clip.
[1:44] Speaker 1: It started like, so the DJ started straight away.
[1:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, So Derinda was the first kind of person on
[1:49] Speaker 3: the main stage. So she was she was DJing. Then
[1:53] Speaker 3: we had like a little panel with a couple of
[1:56] Speaker 3: the housewives, and then this was so funny. They're like
[1:59] Speaker 3: now tuned to the backstage and we have Alexia from
[2:02] Speaker 3: Real Housewives of Miami, who and she was up there
[2:06] Speaker 3: and she was dancing the salsa.
[2:10] Speaker 2: I had watched Miami apparently though seriously, cash, oh, Miami.
[2:14] Speaker 3: Is fine inside, but Miami's on pause. I also wanted
[2:19] Speaker 3: to say that Derinda when we were on the We're
[2:21] Speaker 3: on the pink carpet. I want to say, so, are
[2:24] Speaker 3: we still on pause?
[2:29] Speaker 1: Because it's a it's a very much an anti kin
[2:31] Speaker 1: you think.
[2:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, it is because a lot of housewives don't like
[2:36] Speaker 3: to be told that they're fired. They don't take things well,
[2:39] Speaker 3: so they just go, we're on pause. Now. Some of
[2:42] Speaker 3: them are unpaused, like Vicky Gunfilson is back on Real
[2:46] Speaker 3: Housewives of the OC. She's back, She's back.
[2:49] Speaker 1: I believe Lisa Rinna is genuinely on pause.
[2:52] Speaker 3: I think, well, I don't know she'll ever come back,
[2:55] Speaker 3: but yes, And caroen Ridswell is coming back to New York,
[2:59] Speaker 3: so she was pause. So quite often they're on pause.
[3:02] Speaker 3: It's kind of like Ria Carey being defrosted for Christmas.
[3:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, you.
[3:08] Speaker 3: Know what this season of Real Housewives needs. Let's get
[3:11] Speaker 3: someone from season two roller out unf let's go. Yeah.
[3:15] Speaker 1: I so agree.
[3:16] Speaker 2: It's also like a little like retro throwback when they
[3:18] Speaker 2: come top back in, like what who's one in Beverly Hills?
[3:21] Speaker 2: The what do they call her? They've got a name
[3:24] Speaker 2: for her? That someone said that unconscionable? No, what am
[3:28] Speaker 2: I thinking? Someone's gonna be ston mad at me.
[3:30] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[3:30] Speaker 2: I'll circle back the morally cor yes, thank you, the
[3:36] Speaker 2: morally correct.
[3:38] Speaker 3: I mean she always pops up anyway, whenever, whenever there
[3:41] Speaker 3: is a party to be had, that woman is there.
[3:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, call often.
[3:46] Speaker 3: But it was good just chat to Juliet Mayhew and
[3:48] Speaker 3: I think you've probably had a conversation with her.
[3:51] Speaker 2: Yes, So I spoke to Juliet and Count Jason and
[3:53] Speaker 2: I really had I mean, I've spoken to Jason before
[3:55] Speaker 2: and I can say, like I said, I'm so sorry
[3:58] Speaker 2: right now, I'm finding it hard to concentrate.
[4:00] Speaker 1: They thought I meant because.
[4:01] Speaker 2: I think Jason's hot and said, no, I'm a gay
[4:03] Speaker 2: man talking to you know, real house.
[4:06] Speaker 1: And I didn't feel rude doing that.
[4:07] Speaker 2: It's like, can give you a you know, you wouldn't
[4:09] Speaker 2: normally do that, but I figure it's her first, you know.
[4:12] Speaker 3: Yes.
[4:13] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[4:13] Speaker 3: And it was funny because when I interviewed them on
[4:15] Speaker 3: the Pink Carpet, Jason goes well because they paired them
[4:19] Speaker 3: when they were doing a lot of the promotional stuff
[4:21] Speaker 3: and Jason was like, well, I haven't been able to
[4:22] Speaker 3: get a word in with this one. Juliette girl can't.
[4:28] Speaker 1: Funny is in London.
[4:30] Speaker 2: She's definitely like not the talking because there's like some
[4:33] Speaker 2: epic talkers on there.
[4:35] Speaker 3: Right, so if you think that she's the talker, imagine
[4:38] Speaker 3: all of them in a room together. It's just insane.
[4:43] Speaker 3: And like you and I spoke about how Real Housewives
[4:45] Speaker 3: of London was the perfect first season, well, they had
[4:48] Speaker 3: no notes.
[4:49] Speaker 2: The highest compliment is when they bring back the same cast,
[4:52] Speaker 2: dropping anyone yes or bringing anyone in.
[4:55] Speaker 3: And so we also got a sneak peek of season
[4:58] Speaker 3: two which looks so good. So they did, like they
[5:02] Speaker 3: ran the trailer which I think you can probably watch
[5:05] Speaker 3: on How Are You Now?
[5:06] Speaker 1: But it was what did you say?
[5:08] Speaker 3: Oh my god? So everyone that we thought were friends
[5:12] Speaker 3: are no longer friends.
[5:13] Speaker 2: Well, Juliet Angus the American looks like she maybe has
[5:16] Speaker 2: gotten become friends with Amanda Caroline yeah yeah.
[5:20] Speaker 3: And then Amanda, who was friends with one of the
[5:23] Speaker 3: others then a longer friend so.
[5:24] Speaker 1: Aarens Yes, who's such a Karen?
[5:26] Speaker 3: Who's such a Karen? So they're all kind of like
[5:29] Speaker 3: they're all kind of like falling apart, I know, making
[5:34] Speaker 3: a good show. And then remember Cynthia Bailey, Miss Cynthia
[5:37] Speaker 3: Bailey for days. She kind of gave me some tea
[5:42] Speaker 3: and said, you know, the second app of the reunion,
[5:45] Speaker 3: there's going to be a little bit of tea, and
[5:47] Speaker 3: she wouldn't give it to me what it was. Anyway,
[5:50] Speaker 3: I watched the second app. I know what it is.
[5:52] Speaker 3: She you know how she's dating this hot guy with
[5:56] Speaker 3: the dreads and he's kind of like a musician.
[5:57] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[5:58] Speaker 3: Anyway, there's like this techno How's tech song, which is
[6:02] Speaker 3: like fabulous. She's voiced it and it's like, I'm a peach.
[6:07] Speaker 3: It's like so good.
[6:21] Speaker 1: Now what else is going on?
[6:27] Speaker 2: It's so funny when when yeah, they either house do
[6:30] Speaker 2: their side hustles singing.
[6:32] Speaker 1: Can actually sing, but you know, like when Gamble the
[6:35] Speaker 1: least music.
[6:36] Speaker 3: From and then also when I'm not a really big
[6:42] Speaker 3: fan of Lisa Barlow's baby Gorgeous your baby, I can't like.
[6:47] Speaker 3: I know, I know there's fans, I know they're.
[6:49] Speaker 1: Gonna love it. My friends. Yeah, disappointment.
[6:55] Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I love Brad, but I'm sorely disappointed.
[6:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
[6:59] Speaker 2: It's interesting when you like, like some of my closest friends,
[7:02] Speaker 2: I don't go I love this housewife and they will
[7:04] Speaker 2: say like they like their you know, mortal enemy.
[7:06] Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I thought we were.
[7:08] Speaker 3: It's really a defining moment when you work out whether
[7:11] Speaker 3: your friends like the same housewives as you.
[7:14] Speaker 1: Often they don't. I think that's what's so fun about show.
[7:18] Speaker 3: It is totally. But I do have to say, we
[7:20] Speaker 3: all know my my heart belonged to the Southern charm Boys.
[7:25] Speaker 2: So okay, okay, actually before I get to that, but
[7:30] Speaker 2: just quickly, you very meant and I wrote it down.
[7:32] Speaker 2: You very mentioned early on mentioned there was some draglings
[7:34] Speaker 2: of people dressing up people who are people dressing up pants?
[7:37] Speaker 3: So one of the one of the guys who was
[7:40] Speaker 3: interviewing dressed up is Derinda in the bubble dress.
[7:42] Speaker 1: Remember she did the bubble dress. I did see that.
[7:44] Speaker 1: I did see that.
[7:45] Speaker 3: Yeah, so there was that. Oh I did see someone
[7:48] Speaker 3: dress up as Erica Jane. Remember when Erica Jane had
[7:51] Speaker 3: the the very tight yeah, the PVS Berlin. Yeah, and
[7:55] Speaker 3: she was like walking, could barely walk across it.
[7:57] Speaker 1: You had to stop.
[7:58] Speaker 3: You couldn't even turn.
[8:00] Speaker 2: A friend who works like you know, he does drag
[8:02] Speaker 2: and like charges and does the functions as Gena.
[8:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I.
[8:08] Speaker 3: Mean it's I mean, Gina Leano, she was born to be.
[8:11] Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like Geena Leano's in Drag.
[8:13] Speaker 2: Well, you know, Greasy some one went to school with
[8:15] Speaker 2: the Leana's and Betina and Gina and Patina and Jena,
[8:18] Speaker 2: and apparently Gena was looked dressed.
[8:20] Speaker 1: Like that in school.
[8:21] Speaker 3: That is, I mean obviously obviously the Joel Greasy Show.
[8:27] Speaker 1: Southern first explaining to me Southern Chung because I don't
[8:30] Speaker 1: watch it.
[8:30] Speaker 3: Oh my god. So it's been going for like maybe
[8:32] Speaker 3: ten twelve thirteen seasons. It's like incredible, Like how like
[8:36] Speaker 3: Southern chalm is It's iconic, right?
[8:40] Speaker 1: What happens?
[8:41] Speaker 3: So, well, it's just a bunch of babeople. It's just
[8:45] Speaker 3: a bunch of friends, basically like any They live in
[8:48] Speaker 3: Charleston and they're all yeah, but you know no, Oh
[8:55] Speaker 3: my god, they get around.
[8:58] Speaker 1: I think Michelle's careful.
[9:00] Speaker 3: I was hoping that he wouldn't be a gentleman, but unfortunately,
[9:03] Speaker 3: so I got nothing to report.
[9:06] Speaker 1: So he start following you before you many.
[9:10] Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, so I think because like I was
[9:12] Speaker 3: going through where they were at just because they were
[9:14] Speaker 3: in Sydney and I just wanted to I knew I
[9:16] Speaker 3: was going to like meet them, so I'm like, I'll
[9:17] Speaker 3: give them a quick little follow.
[9:19] Speaker 1: Did you do this to the female reality asking me out? No,
[9:26] Speaker 1: so you gave him a follow?
[9:28] Speaker 3: I gave him a follow, and he followed me back
[9:31] Speaker 3: and that was it. And then I was like, and
[9:33] Speaker 3: then so every time I tagged him was something, it
[9:35] Speaker 3: was just seene but no response. I was like, Okay,
[9:38] Speaker 3: I see what's happening. Yeah, all right, you're playing hard
[9:41] Speaker 3: to You're playing hard to get. I see this.
[9:43] Speaker 1: You like it the thriller of the chase.
[9:46] Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm done now, I'm exhausted.
[9:49] Speaker 1: So yeah, what what What was the vibe you're getting when.
[9:52] Speaker 3: You I don't know, like I feel like, to be honest,
[9:56] Speaker 3: they were like hitting like they did so much much
[10:00] Speaker 3: in such a short amount of time, Like they did
[10:03] Speaker 3: heaps of interviews the day, the.
[10:04] Speaker 2: Two days before, and I mean the emails we were
[10:07] Speaker 2: getting from publishers and it was.
[10:08] Speaker 1: Like it was crazy.
[10:10] Speaker 3: And then on the pink carpet, they're literally like one
[10:14] Speaker 3: person and they inch their way up to you, do
[10:17] Speaker 3: you know what I mean? So like by the time
[10:19] Speaker 3: they get like, you're like, and you've heard all the
[10:22] Speaker 3: questions that I've been asking, and you go.
[10:24] Speaker 2: I want to ask something different, but at the same time,
[10:26] Speaker 2: I still need to ask the top one thing because
[10:30] Speaker 2: my listeners need to make weird.
[10:32] Speaker 3: It's a whole it's a whole weird thing. And then
[10:34] Speaker 3: people are trying to be interesting and weird, and like
[10:37] Speaker 3: you're just like that is when people bring props bullshit
[10:41] Speaker 3: into I'm just saying, can we not have props on
[10:45] Speaker 3: a carpet? Like we just ask questions. I mean, to
[10:47] Speaker 3: be honest, I didn't do a lot of prep because
[10:50] Speaker 3: I've watched the show. I feel like I've grown up
[10:52] Speaker 3: with that you went and I just wanted to like
[10:54] Speaker 3: have a chat. Like it was just more about like
[10:57] Speaker 3: having a casual conversation and maybe a day afterwards, but
[11:00] Speaker 3: like everything really stressful.
[11:03] Speaker 1: Wasn't a big night in the end.
[11:06] Speaker 3: Look, to be honest, we had to be there at
[11:08] Speaker 3: twelve thirty. The Pink Carpet started at one thirty. I
[11:13] Speaker 3: got home at like eleven, Like fan Fast finished probably
[11:17] Speaker 3: around seven. I mean, I know I was early. It
[11:20] Speaker 3: was an early night.
[11:21] Speaker 1: I'm freaking out. I hope you mean eleven am Sunday.
[11:25] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I meant.
[11:26] Speaker 1: Eleven am Sunday, I've lost my friend.
[11:29] Speaker 3: No, but it was like one of those ones where
[11:31] Speaker 3: it was it was actually quite exhausting. But I don't
[11:34] Speaker 3: just say, I do have to say finishing on Meredith
[11:38] Speaker 3: DJing the girl can DJ and she was. It was
[11:43] Speaker 3: a whole thing. It was really heavily produced, which I
[11:47] Speaker 3: really like. So the background screens were just her. A
[11:52] Speaker 3: lot of it felt like she was in It was
[11:54] Speaker 3: ai but anyway, there was there was There was her
[11:56] Speaker 3: walking Remember when she did did you watch Real Housewives
[11:59] Speaker 3: of a City? I know, Oh, there's this iconic moment
[12:03] Speaker 3: where no, she has like a face she has a
[12:06] Speaker 3: face covering. Oh yes, anyway, so there's that. There's lots
[12:10] Speaker 3: of picture, there's lots of videos of her in the
[12:12] Speaker 3: bath because you know she's obsessed with the bar.
[12:14] Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
[12:15] Speaker 3: But when she was walking out, she was like, it
[12:18] Speaker 3: was all just clips of her iconic like you can leave.
[12:24] Speaker 2: Because when I saw Countess, I was like, how good
[12:26] Speaker 2: is this going to be? Like her cabration, It's so good.
[12:28] Speaker 2: She brought up all the house lives mothers that went
[12:30] Speaker 2: through the I mean, that's.
[12:31] Speaker 3: Also what people want. You got to give the people
[12:33] Speaker 3: what they want right, but like sw she bumps of
[12:36] Speaker 3: caviar to the crowd. No, no, I know that would
[12:39] Speaker 3: have been good. But because she has her own cavia caviar,
[12:44] Speaker 3: she has her own caviar brand, so her thing is
[12:47] Speaker 3: she's going to bring the cavia. But she remember on
[12:50] Speaker 3: when I asked a question about who, because I'm like, okay,
[12:53] Speaker 3: who is your DJ inspiration? And you can tell she's
[12:57] Speaker 3: probably never been asked. She was like, well, there's just
[13:01] Speaker 3: so many. Whenever someone says there's so many, they don't have.
[13:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, terms yeah.
[13:12] Speaker 3: And then she goes so many and there she goes
[13:14] Speaker 3: Paris Hilton, of course. But then when she was on
[13:17] Speaker 3: the DJ stage, there was a moment where she pulled
[13:19] Speaker 3: out her little mirror and it was all bedazzled, and
[13:22] Speaker 3: she put out her little lipstick and she put lipstick
[13:24] Speaker 3: on in her mirror and she's just doing all that
[13:26] Speaker 3: cute stuff. I'm like, that's very Paris coded.
[13:28] Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you have like it's a it's a hard question.
[13:32] Speaker 2: Do you have like a goat housewife, Like it doesn't
[13:36] Speaker 2: matter if they're on pause, if they're in jail or whatever.
[13:39] Speaker 3: I mean, I used to really love Bethany, like I
[13:42] Speaker 3: thought Bethany always had the gop there and she was
[13:45] Speaker 3: always she was not She never shied away from anything,
[13:49] Speaker 3: So I really loved her honesty. But I think, you
[13:51] Speaker 3: know a little bit lately on social media it's been
[13:53] Speaker 3: a bit too much. I mean, Kelly ben Simone annoys
[13:58] Speaker 3: the crap out of me.
[13:59] Speaker 1: She is, they're annoying. They're often a good house.
[14:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely absolutely, I think you know, Lisa vander Pump.
[14:07] Speaker 2: That would I think I have to say that was yeah.
[14:11] Speaker 1: But god, she's good and.
[14:15] Speaker 2: All time and it's not the obviously the you know,
[14:19] Speaker 2: I love dogs and just not bad about bitches.
[14:21] Speaker 1: That was great.
[14:22] Speaker 2: My favorite was brought Me to the Wolves and I
[14:24] Speaker 2: shall return leading the pack Chills.
[14:28] Speaker 3: It's iconic. It's iconic. I mean, what would be your
[14:30] Speaker 3: your most iconic Housewives moment?
[14:32] Speaker 2: Oh, you know, I'd probably actually maybe give it to
[14:35] Speaker 2: Melbourne the sand Dunes when they all go Petty Flour
[14:40] Speaker 2: and she does the stop and it's just amazing.
[14:45] Speaker 1: But Connie, there's so many there is.
[14:52] Speaker 3: But also remember when Kyle was at that had the
[14:56] Speaker 3: dinner party and had the woman who said your husband
[14:58] Speaker 3: will never be around you, and she's work in the
[15:00] Speaker 3: face of green and she goes, he will never fulfill
[15:02] Speaker 3: you emotionally, he will leave and she goes, get out,
[15:05] Speaker 3: get out anyway, Look where we are?
[15:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, what about I mean it's not as iconic,
[15:10] Speaker 2: but their dinner party when kitt when Erica is going
[15:13] Speaker 2: through it goes Sutton, oh, yes, and what and what
[15:18] Speaker 2: he's going to punch on?
[15:19] Speaker 1: Yes?
[15:20] Speaker 3: And then Lisa Rinna when she smashes the glass, he
[15:23] Speaker 3: throws it.
[15:24] Speaker 1: Don't talk about my husband, don't talk about Harry. They're
[15:27] Speaker 1: in Amsterdam or something down, never going back.
[15:31] Speaker 3: And Kyl's just running away because she hates conflict. There
[15:34] Speaker 3: are so many. I feel like we need to do
[15:36] Speaker 3: a whole list of the most iconic moments. But there
[15:38] Speaker 3: are too many to remember, too many, but I love
[15:41] Speaker 3: them all. Like I have watched Housewives from its very inception,
[15:45] Speaker 3: I've seen every single one. See like literally i am
[15:50] Speaker 3: I'm the ogoc Like twenty years. It's been going for
[15:54] Speaker 3: twenty years. Yeah, that's twenty years of my life. I
[15:57] Speaker 3: will never get back, but I'm okay with it.
[15:59] Speaker 1: Thanks lady, please, thank you for all the joy you
[16:01] Speaker 1: bring us.
