Grace went in for a friendly hello hug and came out with a handful she didn't ask for. Ginni got pulled up by immigration over a joke about cathedrals and thought her holiday was over. Grace also wants to outsource half her husband and most of her son, starting with his ears. And Cath got the best test results of her life and somehow felt worse than ever. Plus: the party guest who needed an ambulance, the neighbours whose sex life runs like clockwork, and the Unleasher who paid nearly a thousand dollars to be ghosted by a dating agency. And a HUGE thank you to everyone who attended The Spring Fling AKA Cath's formal. We share a little BTS audio as to what went down on the night. In your ears today: Mary Coustas, Grace Lam, Ginni Mansberg and Cath Mahoney. Check out our Unleashed music playlist for some feel good throwbacks! [0:02] Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Unleashed, the podcast for Gen X
[0:06] Speaker 1: women who need a laugh. If you remember having to
[0:09] Speaker 1: wait for the weekend to see what was on TV
[0:11] Speaker 1: because there was no streaming back then, you're in the
[0:14] Speaker 1: right place.
[0:15] Speaker 2: Who is on the sofa today?
[0:17] Speaker 3: Hi, I'm Mary Cousis and I'm a Virgo.
[0:19] Speaker 4: Hi, I'm Grace Ram and I am a true Aries.
[0:23] Speaker 5: I'm Ginny Mansberg and I am a Leo.
[0:26] Speaker 2: And I'm Kath Mahoney and I am a Capricorn. Woohoo!
[0:30] Speaker 6: Yes!
[0:30] Speaker 2: So, wherever you are listening.
[0:33] Speaker 1: Unclench your jaw, clench your pelvic floor, and get ready
[0:36] Speaker 1: to unleash.
[0:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it. Okay, so we had my formal.
[0:41] Speaker 1: Yes!
[0:42] Speaker 2: This brings me.
[0:43] Speaker 1: So good.
[0:44] Speaker 2: Thanks for coming, everyone. Thank you.
[0:46] Speaker 1: Holy moly, what a night. My feet are still recovering.
[0:50] Speaker 1: We have some snippets.
[0:52] Speaker 7: Yes.
[0:52] Speaker 2: And here is how the night went down.
[0:54] Speaker 6: I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.
[0:58] Speaker 1: I may be sweaty, sweaty like I was 18, but
[1:01] Speaker 1: I'm actually 51. And I have had, legit, my first formal.
[1:06] Speaker 2: And it was better than I ever, ever drank.
[1:10] Speaker 1: It was a room full of women, also possibly perimenopausal,
[1:14] Speaker 1: going off to like all of the 80s and 90s songs.
[1:18] Speaker 2: We drank to Wham. We had like some Madonna. It
[1:21] Speaker 2: was good. My pits have taken a real hammering. I
[1:25] Speaker 2: got a sash. I mean, it was emotional.
[1:27] Speaker 1: But best of all, we got to meet people that
[1:30] Speaker 1: listen to Unleashed and really enjoy it.
[1:32] Speaker 2: It was a bit special.
[1:35] Speaker 1: I would say it was a solid 10.5 out of 10.
[1:38] Speaker 1: And even though I am moist in places I didn't
[1:41] Speaker 1: want to be moist, best.
[1:43] Speaker 5: Night of my life.
[1:45] Speaker 1: OK, well, listen, before we get started, I have had,
[1:51] Speaker 1: you could call it an epiphany. Oh, yes. As we know,
[1:54] Speaker 1: Grace Lamb has a nickname for all of us and
[1:57] Speaker 1: or a song. Ginny, you've got a song as well.
[2:00] Speaker 1: This came to me and I would like to. perform
[2:03] Speaker 1: it for you now, Gracelam.
[2:05] Speaker 3: Oh my God, this is a treat and a half,
[2:08] Speaker 3: isn't it?
[2:09] Speaker 1: This is very short, and I do apologize to Paul
[2:12] Speaker 1: Simon in advance.
[2:13] Speaker 4: Oh my God, oh my God.
[2:15] Speaker 1: I'm going to Gracelam, Gracelam, Memphis, Tennessee, I'm going to Gracelam.
[2:21] Speaker 2: What do you reckon? I reckon it's catchy.
[2:25] Speaker 4: I wish I brought my karaoke mic.
[2:27] Speaker 3: Come on.
[2:29] Speaker 2: That was awesome. So good. How have we not heard
[2:33] Speaker 2: that before?
[2:34] Speaker 5: Who came up with the idea?
[2:35] Speaker 4: Kath. Of course. So good.
[2:36] Speaker 2: Just me and Paul. Simon singing.
[2:39] Speaker 3: Finally I have a song.
[2:41] Speaker 5: Come on people.
[2:44] Speaker 2: I mean, now that I've given you gold, who's starting
[2:47] Speaker 2: us off? I want to start off.
[2:48] Speaker 8: I want to talk about how, you know, you've got
[2:51] Speaker 8: to find the funny in life and how awkwardness seems
[2:55] Speaker 8: to be a very common thing between adults. I mean,
[3:00] Speaker 8: we socialise every day of our lives and yet somehow
[3:03] Speaker 8: we're still awkward. You know, where you go to give
[3:05] Speaker 8: someone a kiss and then they turn their face and
[3:07] Speaker 8: suddenly it's on the lips. Or you don't go to
[3:10] Speaker 8: kiss and then they lean in. Or when they've said
[3:13] Speaker 8: something and you haven't anticipated it and then you've got
[3:16] Speaker 8: to improvise. So let me take you to something that
[3:19] Speaker 8: happened to me the other week.
[3:21] Speaker 2: I went to my hairdresser. Beautiful people. Like, you know, gorgeous.
[3:25] Speaker 8: And the wife is a doll. Very bubbly and chatty.
[3:28] Speaker 8: And I was feeling really good. And, you know, I
[3:31] Speaker 8: root around on my main.
[3:33] Speaker 2: Root around?
[3:33] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[3:34] Speaker 8: With my roots because my hair grows so fast. I
[3:37] Speaker 8: have to get rooted regularly. I have my main hairdresser who.
[3:42] Speaker 3: Does my cuts and who does my highlights.
[3:47] Speaker 8: And the only reason I've got highlights is to distract
[3:49] Speaker 8: from the greys that are coming through. And then I
[3:51] Speaker 8: go and get rooted next door to where I live.
[3:54] Speaker 8: There's a great little salon, husband and wife, love them.
[3:57] Speaker 8: And I walk in, I'm feeling really good. And the
[3:59] Speaker 8: wife says, oh my God, you look tired today.
[4:02] Speaker 3: And I wasn't.
[4:04] Speaker 2: I wasn't tired. It was your well-rested face.
[4:07] Speaker 3: I was just really happy until she said that.
[4:10] Speaker 2: And I went, oh.
[4:11] Speaker 3: So then I had to act tired for the next hour.
[4:15] Speaker 5: Nothing worse.
[4:15] Speaker 3: Because I didn't want her to feel bad. And yet,
[4:18] Speaker 3: you know, she meant well. She didn't say it in
[4:20] Speaker 3: a bitchy way or anything like that.
[4:22] Speaker 8: And I just thought, wow, don't we all know as
[4:25] Speaker 8: women that you never say a woman looks tired or
[4:28] Speaker 8: you never say, you know, that she's expecting when she's
[4:31] Speaker 8: not or, We don't make any assumptions.
[4:33] Speaker 3: Like women know that. Men might not, but women know that.
[4:36] Speaker 8: But then I've been guilty of saying things that I
[4:39] Speaker 8: shouldn't have said and we all are. Like one day
[4:42] Speaker 8: I was running very late for a meeting and this
[4:45] Speaker 8: was pre you could tap your, you know, parking meter
[4:49] Speaker 8: with a card days. So I'm getting to this location,
[4:52] Speaker 8: I'm talking to a friend on the phone and I'm
[4:54] Speaker 8: looking for change and I'm trying to find out whether
[4:57] Speaker 8: I'm in the right street and whether I've got the
[4:59] Speaker 8: right number for the building. Now, all of this is happening.
[5:02] Speaker 8: I'm still talking to my friend and I get approached
[5:05] Speaker 8: by someone in the midst of juggling these four different concerns.
[5:09] Speaker 8: It was a man, a homeless man, and I'm sure
[5:12] Speaker 8: he asked me for money, but I didn't hear it
[5:15] Speaker 8: properly because I was still talking to a friend, still
[5:18] Speaker 8: trying to get coins for the meter, still checking the
[5:20] Speaker 8: address and still worried I was running late. And I'm
[5:23] Speaker 8: sure he said, do you have any spare money? And
[5:25] Speaker 8: I said, no, but thanks for asking.
[5:28] Speaker 3: So he must have thought, Who says that?
[5:32] Speaker 8: You know, like I was thanking him for asking for
[5:34] Speaker 8: money even though I didn't give him any.
[5:36] Speaker 3: So all of those things.
[5:37] Speaker 8: So when have you tried to cover something awkward or
[5:42] Speaker 8: when have you said the wrong thing in order to avoid,
[5:45] Speaker 8: you know, that collision of embarrassment?
[5:49] Speaker 1: I feel like I am always awkward in an airport
[5:54] Speaker 1: with airport staff. like checking in or going through security
[5:58] Speaker 1: I don't know it's like my awkwardness just sort of
[6:00] Speaker 1: gets really sort of turned up Sydney airport has had
[6:04] Speaker 1: a bit of a makeover I'm sure you've all seen
[6:06] Speaker 1: and there's like a massive new security area it's really
[6:08] Speaker 1: fabulous and I was going down it's when I was
[6:11] Speaker 1: going to stay with Sally Hepworth when we were doing
[6:13] Speaker 1: like a writer's thing and Sally doesn't really have much
[6:16] Speaker 1: in the kitchen so I was like I'll bring my
[6:17] Speaker 1: own protein powder but it I just got the new
[6:20] Speaker 1: one kilo pack and I was like I can't carry
[6:22] Speaker 1: that down so I put it in like a glad bag.
[6:25] Speaker 2: Yes.
[6:26] Speaker 1: And then I put it on the group chat because
[6:29] Speaker 1: I was like, does this look dodged?
[6:32] Speaker 5: And they were like, no, no, no, no, no.
[6:34] Speaker 2: Anyway, so I decided to, I wouldn't put it in
[6:36] Speaker 2: my carry on. And as I'm going.
[6:37] Speaker 1: Through the security bit, you know, there's two guys and
[6:40] Speaker 1: they're chatting to you behind the security thing. I was like,
[6:43] Speaker 1: I just went, actually, I was going to bring some
[6:45] Speaker 1: protein powder in a glad wrap bag.
[6:48] Speaker 2: Would I have been allowed to get that through on
[6:50] Speaker 2: carry on?
[6:51] Speaker 5: And they were like, yes.
[6:52] Speaker 2: And I went, oh, I said, it did look a
[6:54] Speaker 2: bit like heroin.
[6:55] Speaker 1: And then they like looked at me and I was like,
[6:57] Speaker 1: oh shit, you shouldn't talk about like anything dodgy. And
[6:59] Speaker 1: I went, I mean, you know, I don't do heroin.
[7:01] Speaker 1: I was like, I mean, does anyone do heroin?
[7:04] Speaker 2: Is heroin even a thing? And at this point they're
[7:06] Speaker 2: just like, and I went, oh my God. And I
[7:08] Speaker 2: just like walked off. And I just thought it's something
[7:11] Speaker 2: about being in an airport.
[7:12] Speaker 1: I feel like I'm potentially always about to get arrested
[7:16] Speaker 1: even though on my life I've never done anything dodgy.
[7:19] Speaker 2: Grace, what about you?
[7:20] Speaker 4: I mean, I was in a situation a few years
[7:22] Speaker 4: ago I've got friends from London that came to Hong Kong.
[7:25] Speaker 4: I was still living in Hong Kong. Went out for dinner.
[7:28] Speaker 4: And then when I saw this couple, we were so
[7:30] Speaker 4: happy to see them, right? So I went up to
[7:32] Speaker 4: the wife and said, hi, all this. And then went
[7:35] Speaker 4: up to the husband and did the same. But somehow,
[7:38] Speaker 4: because we were all moving around, his hand cupped my breast.
[7:42] Speaker 4: And I thought, oh my God, do I say something?
[7:45] Speaker 4: Do I not? I didn't say anything. And he looked
[7:48] Speaker 4: like so shocked.
[7:49] Speaker 2: And I just went.
[7:54] Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, I mean, look at these babies.
[7:57] Speaker 2: They're gorgeous.
[7:57] Speaker 5: They're gorgeous.
[7:58] Speaker 2: They're like study side up.
[8:00] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[8:00] Speaker 2: You know, there's something there.
[8:01] Speaker 5: So I'm like, you know what?
[8:02] Speaker 2: You're welcome. It's fine. Let's not talk about it.
[8:04] Speaker 5: Um, The airport thing just makes me cackle.
[8:07] Speaker 7: When we arrived in the UK for my 50th birthday,
[8:11] Speaker 7: it had just been when there was that terrible poisoning
[8:15] Speaker 7: of the Russian agent in Sheffield. And do you remember
[8:19] Speaker 7: the Russians had come in saying that they were looking
[8:21] Speaker 7: at cathedrals in Sheffield? And so we got stopped by
[8:25] Speaker 7: immigration on the way in and they said, what are
[8:28] Speaker 7: you doing in the UK? And no shit, my husband says,
[8:32] Speaker 7: we're here to look at cathedrals in Sheffield.
[8:34] Speaker 5: And then we did this guy and went, too soon?
[8:37] Speaker 7: And I thought, that's it, my holiday is over, we're
[8:40] Speaker 7: going to spend my entire 50th in jail.
[8:42] Speaker 5: But it turns out that he had a great sense
[8:44] Speaker 5: of humour as well.
[8:45] Speaker 4: Thank God.
[8:46] Speaker 5: So we were actually allowed into the country. So, yes,
[8:48] Speaker 5: thank goodness. What is it about the airport? I start
[8:51] Speaker 5: sweating bullets.
[8:52] Speaker 2: I'm the same. And the older I get, the more
[8:55] Speaker 2: anxious I get. It's ridiculous.
[8:59] Speaker 7: Guys, have you been just seeing on social media this
[9:02] Speaker 7: whole trend of, you know, nurturing your village, curating your
[9:07] Speaker 7: village around you. I feel like it's everywhere and everyone's
[9:10] Speaker 7: kind of saying you need like not to take on
[9:12] Speaker 7: everything yourself and just to bring other people into your life.
[9:15] Speaker 7: And it's made me realise that not only do I
[9:18] Speaker 7: not curate a village, but I'm like expelling the village
[9:21] Speaker 7: and becoming a hermit. And I basically have decided that
[9:25] Speaker 7: I do everything online. All of my shopping is online.
[9:28] Speaker 7: I now have a really nice home office, which I
[9:30] Speaker 7: prefer not to leave if at all possible. And I'm
[9:33] Speaker 7: just becoming this anti-social. I don't know what is wrong
[9:36] Speaker 7: with me. Thank God I have you guys here and
[9:38] Speaker 7: my patients. Otherwise I may never leave the house. So
[9:41] Speaker 7: I was wondering, what is the one thing that you
[9:43] Speaker 7: guys would give up in your life that you could
[9:46] Speaker 7: happily shed without guilt?
[9:49] Speaker 5: In my case, the village and never have again.
[9:53] Speaker 8: For me it would be mundane conversation, you know, like
[9:57] Speaker 8: traffic talk, weather talk.
[10:00] Speaker 3: Or having to repeat something over and over again like
[10:02] Speaker 3: to a child.
[10:04] Speaker 8: If I could take those three things away from the
[10:06] Speaker 8: dialogue that I inherit I try not to talk about
[10:10] Speaker 8: traffic unless someone else has opened the subject then you've
[10:12] Speaker 8: just got to run with it right uh weather although
[10:15] Speaker 8: today is a beautiful day so I was like I
[10:17] Speaker 8: could talk about the weather today but Generally, I don't
[10:20] Speaker 8: like things that don't mean anything.
[10:23] Speaker 3: Firstly, traffic and weather talk seems like old people's talk.
[10:26] Speaker 3: How did you get here? What road did you take?
[10:28] Speaker 3: Was there traffic? Did you go over the bridge?
[10:30] Speaker 2: Did you go through the tunnel?
[10:32] Speaker 3: You know, all of that stuff. And I feel like saying, really?
[10:35] Speaker 3: Did anything happen apart from making a choice about which
[10:38] Speaker 3: way to go?
[10:39] Speaker 8: So I would be happy because I love dialogue, because
[10:42] Speaker 8: I love conversations to go to dangerous places, new places. Yeah,
[10:46] Speaker 8: I could do without that.
[10:48] Speaker 4: So, Gina, I think what you're outsourcing is too beige.
[10:51] Speaker 4: If I can outsource something in my life and get
[10:53] Speaker 4: someone to come to my place and replace it, it
[10:56] Speaker 4: will be, can someone come in and replace Jason's ears
[11:00] Speaker 4: so he can listen better? And then also my son's
[11:04] Speaker 4: eyes so he can see better. I mean, I know
[11:07] Speaker 4: my son is half Chinese. We've got relatively smaller eyes,
[11:10] Speaker 4: but I mean, come on. They don't read any post-it
[11:14] Speaker 4: notes that I've put all around the house.
[11:16] Speaker 5: So generously.
[11:17] Speaker 4: Right. So the other day I said to my son,
[11:21] Speaker 4: do not plug in anything when we're not here because
[11:24] Speaker 4: these are machines.
[11:25] Speaker 2: These are electronics.
[11:26] Speaker 4: They can blow up, which happens because I watch a
[11:29] Speaker 4: lot of news. And I said, do not plug in
[11:32] Speaker 4: your toothbrush, electronic toothbrush charger when we're not home.
[11:37] Speaker 5: What does he do?
[11:37] Speaker 4: He keeps doing it and repeating it, not even listening.
[11:40] Speaker 2: So what did I do?
[11:41] Speaker 4: I put a post-it note right next to the charger
[11:43] Speaker 4: and he still did it. And he will ask me, oh, mama,
[11:46] Speaker 4: where's my blue bottle? I'm like, it's right in front
[11:48] Speaker 4: of you. Come on.
[11:49] Speaker 2: And then Jason, I mean, he's a.
[11:52] Speaker 4: Great husband, but sometimes, I mean, for God's sake, I
[11:55] Speaker 4: wish I have a PA like me that is so
[11:58] Speaker 4: detailed and just be on it all the time.
[12:01] Speaker 5: You know what they call it?
[12:02] Speaker 3: What?
[12:03] Speaker 5: A wife.
[12:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, come on.
[12:05] Speaker 4: Like when I was breastfeeding back in the day, I
[12:08] Speaker 4: said to Jason, I'm going to go out today because
[12:10] Speaker 4: I had an advertising job. I'm a fashion stylist. I said,
[12:14] Speaker 4: these are the milk in the fridge that you can
[12:16] Speaker 4: use because I was breastfeeding. And people, my breasts were huge,
[12:20] Speaker 4: believe it or not, during breastfeeding. So they were like gold.
[12:23] Speaker 4: My milk was like gold, right? I said, make sure
[12:24] Speaker 4: you only use this milk. And I put this full cream.
[12:28] Speaker 4: I put the potion on my milk. I came home. No.
[12:32] Speaker 4: They were still there.
[12:33] Speaker 5: No.
[12:34] Speaker 4: He used the one.
[12:35] Speaker 2: He started lactating.
[12:37] Speaker 5: I fucking wish.
[12:38] Speaker 4: He used the one he's not supposed to use. And
[12:40] Speaker 4: I literally broke down because I was like, why is
[12:44] Speaker 4: no one reading my post-it note? It's because it fell
[12:46] Speaker 4: because of the condensation to the lower ground, to the
[12:49] Speaker 4: lower floor.
[12:50] Speaker 2: Oh, it slipped off.
[12:51] Speaker 5: I mean, but still, listen better.
[12:53] Speaker 6: Come on.
[12:54] Speaker 2: Oh, eyes and ears.
[12:55] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[12:56] Speaker 2: I would like to replace... I do a one woman show,
[13:02] Speaker 2: but I am a one woman.
[13:04] Speaker 1: So I have to book the venue, find the venue,
[13:07] Speaker 1: sing the theme tune, like.
[13:09] Speaker 2: Do the PR, do it all.
[13:11] Speaker 1: And that stuff I find really difficult, especially having been
[13:14] Speaker 1: a publicist who can like be a cheerleader for everyone else.
[13:18] Speaker 1: When it comes to you, it's the most cringy thing ever.
[13:22] Speaker 1: So I would replace that.
[13:24] Speaker 5: It's called an agent.
[13:25] Speaker 4: I know.
[13:25] Speaker 1: I mean, I had a friend and she made up
[13:28] Speaker 1: a person for her business that was like didn't exist
[13:32] Speaker 1: to be the person that would kind of be the cheerleader.
[13:35] Speaker 1: But I just think I'd get it wrong or I'd
[13:36] Speaker 1: change the tense in it and I would get I'd
[13:39] Speaker 1: get sort of spotted. I'd like an agent if anyone's listening.
[13:42] Speaker 1: And I would also like someone who cares about my car.
[13:45] Speaker 1: I want someone to fill the water, the hole up
[13:49] Speaker 1: when the water's out, because at the moment I'm just
[13:51] Speaker 1: throwing the water from my water bottle.
[13:53] Speaker 2: Onto the windscreen.
[13:54] Speaker 1: And there's been some bird poo on my car for
[13:57] Speaker 1: probably since, I don't know, two months now. I'd just
[13:59] Speaker 1: like someone to care for my car in a way
[14:02] Speaker 1: that I don't care.
[14:03] Speaker 2: Sorry, Mary. My car's called Mary.
[14:05] Speaker 1: Is it?
[14:06] Speaker 2: Yes!
[14:07] Speaker 4: Why?
[14:07] Speaker 5: Mary Poppins!
[14:08] Speaker 1: It's like lovely blue, like a Mary Poppins colour. Okay,
[14:11] Speaker 1: time for something else, I think.
[14:15] Speaker 4: All right, ladies, I've recently watched a really great film,
[14:20] Speaker 4: The Invite, by Olivia Wilde.
[14:23] Speaker 2: So good.
[14:24] Speaker 4: So good, which I did not expect, not because she's
[14:27] Speaker 4: not a good director. I actually watched her last film
[14:29] Speaker 4: and I really didn't like it. This one, however, the
[14:32] Speaker 4: cast was amazing, spot on. It was only in one space.
[14:35] Speaker 4: They can really come out as their characters. It was
[14:37] Speaker 4: so funny. And it went from just a simple neighbor dinner...
[14:43] Speaker 4: Then it had a turn. I'm not going to give
[14:45] Speaker 4: a spoiler. Then it had a really interesting turn, and.
[14:48] Speaker 2: It went somewhere else after.
[14:50] Speaker 4: And it makes me think, oh, what are my relationships
[14:53] Speaker 4: with my neighbors? So I am friends with most of
[14:56] Speaker 4: my neighbors on my floor, and they're really cool people.
[14:59] Speaker 4: And do you remember the intruder that I had, that
[15:03] Speaker 4: I thought I had many episodes ago? I named him Shane.
[15:07] Speaker 4: So I met Shane. That's not his real name, by
[15:09] Speaker 4: the way. So I met Shane again recently, and I
[15:12] Speaker 4: found out his real name. And would I invite Shane
[15:15] Speaker 4: to a party or dinner? Maybe not yet. However, the
[15:20] Speaker 4: boomers on my floor, they love us and they always
[15:23] Speaker 4: want to invite us to dinner. So what I want
[15:26] Speaker 4: to know is, have you ever invited your neighbors to
[15:29] Speaker 4: a gathering or even an intimate dinner?
[15:33] Speaker 1: Hmm. Well, I think it goes back to you talking
[15:36] Speaker 1: about the boomers, doesn't it? As I've aged, it's different.
[15:39] Speaker 1: I remember when I just got separated and Lou and
[15:43] Speaker 1: I moved to an apartment. Lou would only be maybe
[15:46] Speaker 1: five or six. And I was, my mum always used
[15:49] Speaker 1: to say to me, like when I went to university,
[15:51] Speaker 1: hold your horses. Don't become besties with the people on
[15:54] Speaker 1: the first day because you're together for three years. And
[15:57] Speaker 1: so I went a bit too soon when I moved
[15:59] Speaker 1: to this apartment block because and I was super friendly
[16:02] Speaker 1: to everyone, including this guy, let's call him James.
[16:05] Speaker 2: And then within two weeks, James, I am saying.
[16:08] Speaker 1: Potentially alcohol-fueled, buzzed my door with a bottle of champagne
[16:14] Speaker 1: and just said, I'd just like to see your apartment.
[16:16] Speaker 2: I was just like, I was like, Lewis is in
[16:20] Speaker 2: his bedroom. Oh my God. And then you're stuck there
[16:23] Speaker 2: for the rest of the lease.
[16:25] Speaker 1: However, now, like 10, 11 years on, I've moved into
[16:28] Speaker 1: the block I'm in now, maybe four years ago, There
[16:30] Speaker 1: are other women my age and pretty quickly, well, actually
[16:34] Speaker 1: on the first night, lovely Sarah had made me an
[16:37] Speaker 1: apple crumble and left it at my front door, which
[16:40] Speaker 1: was delicious.
[16:41] Speaker 2: And then we all like have Christmas drinks and stuff.
[16:43] Speaker 2: So in that way, perfect.
[16:46] Speaker 1: My new neighbours remind me slightly of the invite though.
[16:50] Speaker 2: Very, very quiet, quiet.
[16:52] Speaker 1: Apart from on some weekends when you would swear there
[16:55] Speaker 1: was a Roman orgy going on next door with many, many.
[16:58] Speaker 2: Limbs going on. So I wouldn't invite them for dinner.
[17:02] Speaker 2: I agree.
[17:02] Speaker 8: I mean, we live in a great apartment building. We
[17:05] Speaker 8: know there's primarily owners, occupiers, and there are some people renting.
[17:10] Speaker 8: So we get on well with the people that own
[17:12] Speaker 8: because they've always been there and we know them and
[17:14] Speaker 8: it's really friendly. And if there's a package, can someone
[17:17] Speaker 8: bring it in or whatever? And then we'll have Christmas
[17:20] Speaker 8: drinks together. And if I do a show, I invite them.
[17:23] Speaker 2: You know, it's good.
[17:23] Speaker 3: Good vibes.
[17:24] Speaker 8: You know, there's no one you would avoid. Although there
[17:26] Speaker 8: is someone renting the apartment next door.
[17:30] Speaker 3: Where they must have the doors open. And they're very loud.
[17:34] Speaker 8: And when I say loud, I mean during sex.
[17:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, particularly the woman.
[17:39] Speaker 3: There's a lot of, oh, oh, oh, oh. And in
[17:43] Speaker 3: all hours.
[17:44] Speaker 8: Like sometimes like at 5 a.m., sometimes at 1 a.m.,
[17:48] Speaker 8: sometimes at 9 p.m.
[17:49] Speaker 3: And that's great, but then I've got a kid. Mama,
[17:52] Speaker 3: what's happening in there? What is that sound? It's like, oh,
[17:56] Speaker 3: someone's just having a bit of fun somewhere. I don't
[18:00] Speaker 3: know where it's coming from. And I don't know who
[18:02] Speaker 3: they are. I don't know what they look like.
[18:03] Speaker 2: That's probably better, isn't it? You don't know how they
[18:05] Speaker 2: look like.
[18:06] Speaker 3: It's good. It's a bit of guesswork now when I
[18:07] Speaker 3: park my car. Like, is it them?
[18:09] Speaker 2: Is it them? Is it her? She's having a good time.
[18:13] Speaker 4: Ginny?
[18:13] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[18:14] Speaker 7: The most crazy party at our place that ever happened
[18:18] Speaker 7: was straight after COVID when we were just allowed to
[18:22] Speaker 7: have 10 people after lockdown. And it was a friend's
[18:28] Speaker 7: birthday and someone brought some special dessert.
[18:32] Speaker 2: Oh.
[18:33] Speaker 3: Something with a cookie?
[18:35] Speaker 7: It was something with a cookie and let's just say
[18:38] Speaker 7: on his sixth one, The ambulance had a lot of
[18:42] Speaker 7: trouble sedating him. There were police involved. The entire street
[18:48] Speaker 7: was blocked off. The neighbours were calling to find out
[18:51] Speaker 7: what was happening at our place.
[18:54] Speaker 5: The rest of us were either asleep or laughing. And
[18:57] Speaker 5: it was such a crazy, crazy wild night. What kind
[19:02] Speaker 5: of neighbours are you?
[19:03] Speaker 7: Like if the screamers next door, Mary, were going to
[19:05] Speaker 7: describe you, how would they describe you as a neighbour?
[19:08] Speaker 8: Well, during menopause I was a bit of a screamer myself,
[19:11] Speaker 8: but not through ecstasy, through rage, I think.
[19:15] Speaker 2: I think we're loud.
[19:16] Speaker 5: But wait, what would they think those loud noises are
[19:19] Speaker 5: coming from you?
[19:20] Speaker 8: They'd think it was a woman having a mental breakdown,
[19:22] Speaker 8: I think, when she's screaming all the time.
[19:24] Speaker 3: But see, I've got the double whammy.
[19:26] Speaker 5: I'm Greek.
[19:27] Speaker 8: And I was, you know, menopausal at the same time.
[19:29] Speaker 8: So that was just like a steroided.
[19:32] Speaker 2: Version of me.
[19:34] Speaker 4: I think my neighbours would think I'm fun and sometimes
[19:38] Speaker 4: a bit too forward. However, one time one of our
[19:41] Speaker 4: neighbours said to me and, well, it was through a
[19:43] Speaker 4: third party that I got found out that apparently one
[19:46] Speaker 4: of my neighbours said about me and Jason, he is
[19:48] Speaker 4: so nice but she's a bitch. Oh!
[19:50] Speaker 5: And I quite like that.
[19:51] Speaker 4: That means I'm not a walkover and I know how
[19:53] Speaker 4: to say no.
[19:53] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[19:54] Speaker 2: Wow. What about you, Kath?
[19:56] Speaker 1: I think they would mainly say I was friendly unless
[20:00] Speaker 1: they were catching me on a not friendly day.
[20:02] Speaker 2: If they'd not met me and.
[20:05] Speaker 1: They're just sort of hearing me I'm a bit of
[20:07] Speaker 1: a rule keeper, so I don't make much noise. I
[20:10] Speaker 1: wouldn't even vacuum until after 7.30 a.m. because we're not
[20:14] Speaker 1: allowed in our building.
[20:15] Speaker 2: I have rugs where you're meant to.
[20:17] Speaker 1: I play a lot of music, but if it's a
[20:19] Speaker 1: certain time, I put my ear pods in.
[20:21] Speaker 2: They might hear.
[20:24] Speaker 1: me raising my voice at my teenage son, potentially. They
[20:28] Speaker 1: might hear him raising his voice at me, potentially. And
[20:32] Speaker 1: if they were lucky enough to be in their apartment
[20:35] Speaker 1: mid-June 2005, they might have heard me have sex.
[20:39] Speaker 2: But that was literally the one time. I think that
[20:43] Speaker 2: is it.
[20:44] Speaker 7: Well, I'm definitely like your neighbour. I'm out and proud
[20:48] Speaker 7: and very loud with my husband.
[20:50] Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[20:51] Speaker 5: And we are frequent flyers.
[20:52] Speaker 2: However.
[20:54] Speaker 5: Luckily.
[20:54] Speaker 7: Or unluckily for my neighbors, all of those noises are
[20:58] Speaker 7: drowned out by the extensive building project that yes, everyone
[21:02] Speaker 7: is still going on at my house.
[21:05] Speaker 5: At any given day, you can hear somebody.
[21:06] Speaker 7: Sawing tiles, jackhammering, smashing in a door, smashing out a door.
[21:11] Speaker 5: So yes, don't worry.
[21:13] Speaker 7: You don't need to hear me. You can hear Sean
[21:15] Speaker 7: and his team of builders at all hours and at
[21:18] Speaker 7: all days.
[21:20] Speaker 2: Okay.
[21:20] Speaker 1: I want to share something that's a bit real. I
[21:22] Speaker 1: feel like I'm in a safe sisterhood place here. I
[21:28] Speaker 1: have been struggling a bit lately. Yeah, I mean, nothing horrendous,
[21:33] Speaker 1: just I feel like I'm at absolute capacity and I
[21:37] Speaker 1: feel like there's nobody to pass the ball to.
[21:40] Speaker 2: I'm gonna cry.
[21:43] Speaker 5: Yes, let it all out.
[21:44] Speaker 2: I'm having my period. Let it all out. I'm 51,
[21:47] Speaker 2: I'm still having it.
[21:49] Speaker 3: So unfair.
[21:50] Speaker 2: How can I have perimenopause, acne and my periods? Thank you.
[21:54] Speaker 4: And I love that she's got her period and wearing it.
[21:56] Speaker 4: It doesn't stop her from wearing white. White see-through lace dress.
[22:00] Speaker 1: I've had an ablation on the fibroids, so we're not
[22:02] Speaker 1: gushy anymore. We're just like teary and so booby.
[22:06] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm struggling. And I think as someone.
[22:09] Speaker 1: Who is pretty happy and you stick your red lipstick
[22:12] Speaker 1: on and you're always like, it's great. And we do,
[22:15] Speaker 1: you know, we do something that you hope women who
[22:17] Speaker 1: might be having a crap week are listening to and
[22:19] Speaker 1: it cheers them up.
[22:20] Speaker 2: Sometimes you go, I'm actually, I feel like.
[22:24] Speaker 1: I would like to be like my vacuum cleaner, my
[22:26] Speaker 1: Hoover that I just pull out my lead and I
[22:28] Speaker 1: get put in a dark cupboard for maybe a week
[22:32] Speaker 1: or two weeks.
[22:32] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[22:33] Speaker 1: And I just can't see when it's going to end.
[22:36] Speaker 1: And Ginny knows this. I never take time off. I
[22:38] Speaker 1: took two days off to go to like a retreat
[22:41] Speaker 1: and I got sick. So I kind of came back going,
[22:44] Speaker 1: I feel worse than when I was trying to relax.
[22:46] Speaker 1: And then I did exactly what we've also talked about.
[22:50] Speaker 1: And I got all my bloods done thinking it'll be iron.
[22:52] Speaker 1: I bet I've got no iron. Once I know what
[22:54] Speaker 1: it is, I can take a pill or I can.
[22:58] Speaker 1: I can up my HRT, whatever it is. And I
[22:59] Speaker 1: got my results on the weekend. The doctor's like, I'm
[23:01] Speaker 1: so sorry. Everything's perfect.
[23:03] Speaker 2: And I said, well, why do I feel like I've
[23:05] Speaker 2: fallen off a cliff? So I don't know. Is this,
[23:08] Speaker 2: is it Perry? Is it midlife?
[23:10] Speaker 1: Is it being a single mom to a year 12 student?
[23:14] Speaker 2: Is it because I don't take a break?
[23:16] Speaker 3: Help. Firstly, I love these sorts of conversations.
[23:20] Speaker 8: I'm sick of people faking it all the time, but
[23:23] Speaker 8: pretending everything's fine. And I'm sick of women sort of
[23:26] Speaker 8: not wanting to hear anything negative because that might make
[23:30] Speaker 8: them spiral into something negative as well. I say all
[23:33] Speaker 8: the feelings are welcome. So I think it's really normal
[23:38] Speaker 8: and natural to be feeling overwhelmed in life. I like
[23:42] Speaker 8: to think if you're human, you're going to have mental
[23:44] Speaker 8: health issues because we are feeling based beings.
[23:48] Speaker 3: And sometimes things are harder than they need to be.
[23:52] Speaker 8: And sometimes we get eroded by, you know, routine and
[23:56] Speaker 8: being stretched in too many different directions and trying to
[23:59] Speaker 8: be all things to everyone. And, Kath, the best thing
[24:02] Speaker 8: about you is that you're a feeler. That's why I
[24:04] Speaker 8: instantly fell in love with you because, you know, you're
[24:08] Speaker 8: as funny as you are sentimental and you're as sentimental
[24:12] Speaker 8: as you are strong as you are sad sometimes.
[24:14] Speaker 2: And that's us. That's all of us.
[24:16] Speaker 3: So I think it's absolutely normal.
[24:18] Speaker 8: I'd be worried if you were always well and always
[24:21] Speaker 8: happy and always achieving and always feeling like you're on
[24:24] Speaker 8: top of everything.
[24:24] Speaker 5: I just don't buy that.
[24:26] Speaker 2: No, absolutely not.
[24:28] Speaker 4: I think, Kev, maybe sometimes even though you're a gentle person,
[24:32] Speaker 4: sometimes maybe you're a bit too hard on yourself in
[24:35] Speaker 4: your own little way, not the Graceland way, because you
[24:39] Speaker 4: don't have to be always so strong. And I think
[24:43] Speaker 4: with me, even with a strong character like me, I
[24:46] Speaker 4: was so overwhelmed lately because there was so much shit
[24:48] Speaker 4: going on. And what did I do? I said to
[24:51] Speaker 4: my husband, you and my son do not exist for
[24:54] Speaker 4: the next half an hour. I got my karaoke mic out.
[24:58] Speaker 3: Islands in the stream. That is what we, for half
[25:01] Speaker 3: an hour.
[25:01] Speaker 4: I said, do not touch my Spotify because I had
[25:05] Speaker 4: it on repeat because I needed that half an hour
[25:08] Speaker 4: just to be.
[25:08] Speaker 5: In another zone.
[25:10] Speaker 2: And then I came back.
[25:10] Speaker 3: I was fine.
[25:12] Speaker 4: So sometimes I think you just need to yank yourself
[25:14] Speaker 4: out from that zone and do something you really enjoy
[25:17] Speaker 4: and really happy to do, even if it's renting to
[25:19] Speaker 4: your friends. I think it's really important. And you are,
[25:23] Speaker 4: I mean, this is why I have so much fucking
[25:25] Speaker 4: respect for single moms, single parents, whether you're a dad
[25:29] Speaker 4: or mom, because it's so hard. I have a really
[25:32] Speaker 4: loving husband and he's so supportive. And sometimes it's so
[25:35] Speaker 4: hard for me to deal with everything. let alone doing
[25:38] Speaker 4: this alone. So you always have to say to yourself,
[25:41] Speaker 4: I'm doing great. I'm just having a moment and I'm allowed.
[25:45] Speaker 4: Give yourself permission.
[25:46] Speaker 2: Thank you.
[25:47] Speaker 8: Yeah, and the more you say this too shall pass,
[25:50] Speaker 8: the more you can, you know, like go into an
[25:54] Speaker 8: optimistic space.
[25:55] Speaker 3: Feel it. those feelings will be replaced by other feelings and.
[25:59] Speaker 8: You'll work through it. But the more you hold it back,
[26:01] Speaker 8: the bigger those feelings become. And they're like, you know,
[26:05] Speaker 8: holding back the tide. So have a cry, have a complain,
[26:09] Speaker 8: do something good for yourself, change the channel, put yourself
[26:12] Speaker 8: in a different space, do all of that because, you know,
[26:15] Speaker 8: that's the only way we can get through.
[26:16] Speaker 4: And also in Buddhism, I'm, you know, I'm a Buddhist.
[26:20] Speaker 4: We believe in when you are low, You need to
[26:24] Speaker 4: have lows to have highs, right?
[26:26] Speaker 2: It's a no-brainer.
[26:27] Speaker 4: But you cannot be always happy.
[26:30] Speaker 2: This is unrealistic.
[26:31] Speaker 4: And this is what I teach my son. You do
[26:33] Speaker 4: not seek happiness from other people. You need to seek
[26:36] Speaker 4: happiness within yourself and then be okay with it.
[26:40] Speaker 7: I don't know whether this would help because I think
[26:42] Speaker 7: sometimes when you're in the eye of the storm, everything
[26:45] Speaker 7: just feels so much. And a lot of the advice
[26:48] Speaker 7: you get from other people and you're such an advice seeker,
[26:50] Speaker 7: but then it can add to the burden of everything
[26:53] Speaker 7: else that's happening. But one form of therapy that I
[26:56] Speaker 7: think is amazing is one called ACT therapy, which is
[26:59] Speaker 7: acceptance and commitment therapy.
[27:01] Speaker 2: Have you heard of this?
[27:02] Speaker 6: No.
[27:02] Speaker 7: So it's around... it's two stages. The first thing is
[27:05] Speaker 7: accepting the things that you can't change. So there are
[27:08] Speaker 7: certain things about your living situation or being a single mum.
[27:12] Speaker 1: Or the job that you've decided to choose, which is
[27:15] Speaker 1: a lot of different disparate.
[27:16] Speaker 5: Things that you can't change.
[27:18] Speaker 7: But then there's the commitment to actually having a life
[27:22] Speaker 7: of meaning and purpose.
[27:23] Speaker 3: So what that is, is actually really actively.
[27:26] Speaker 7: Thinking about the things that bring you joy and then actively.
[27:30] Speaker 5: Going and getting them.
[27:32] Speaker 7: And so there'll be things that you can't change. So
[27:34] Speaker 7: don't bang your head against the wall trying to change
[27:36] Speaker 7: the things that are inevitable. But think about whose number
[27:40] Speaker 7: comes up on your phone and you think.
[27:42] Speaker 5: Yes, I love to speak to that person.
[27:45] Speaker 7: Or I look forward to a holiday or having things
[27:47] Speaker 7: in your life that genuinely bring you joy. And I
[27:50] Speaker 7: know for you, you get so much joy out of giving.
[27:53] Speaker 7: You are such a genuinely giving person and you derive
[27:58] Speaker 7: joy from acts of generosity and acts of kindness. If
[28:02] Speaker 7: you actively look to have those in your life and
[28:04] Speaker 7: identify them and make space for them, it might help.
[28:08] Speaker 7: Because it's been a really successful therapy model that has
[28:11] Speaker 7: really worked not just for depression and anxiety, which you
[28:15] Speaker 7: don't have, but just more like just generally to improve
[28:19] Speaker 7: your happiness.
[28:19] Speaker 5: And I'm wondering if that would help you.
[28:21] Speaker 2: What do you think? I like the sound of that, yeah.
[28:24] Speaker 8: All you can do is concentrate on your life, what
[28:28] Speaker 8: you do, pat yourself on the back for being heroic
[28:31] Speaker 8: and incredibly productive and a great human being. And then
[28:37] Speaker 8: like Ginny said, go and pursue the things. And I
[28:41] Speaker 8: don't know anyone that does as much as you in
[28:42] Speaker 8: terms of interests and trying to find the joyous things
[28:46] Speaker 8: and the healing things out there.
[28:48] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know it's a time... It's just a
[28:50] Speaker 1: certain time. You know, it'll pass. Lou's almost through his HSC. Like,
[28:54] Speaker 1: I know it's pointy.
[28:55] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[28:55] Speaker 1: I know from friends who've gone through it, there's a
[28:58] Speaker 1: lot going on. Yeah, here's to Christmas. Yes.
[29:04] Speaker 5: All right, Kath, I'm going to lift your burden.
[29:06] Speaker 2: Pass me a script, please.
[29:07] Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
[29:08] Speaker 2: Thank you.
[29:08] Speaker 5: It's time now.
[29:11] Speaker 2: Guys for other people's problems.
[29:13] Speaker 7: What is better than our problems is definitely other people's.
[29:17] Speaker 7: This is the part of the show that we all
[29:19] Speaker 7: love because all our Unleashes send us their dilemmas, questions,
[29:24] Speaker 7: moral grey areas, and we, your completely unqualified agony aunts,
[29:28] Speaker 7: are here with all the advice, the good, the bad,
[29:31] Speaker 7: and the ugly.
[29:31] Speaker 5: And this week's problem comes to us from Anonymous.
[29:36] Speaker 7: Anonymous is actually so hardcore anonymous that we've had this
[29:40] Speaker 7: voice message re-voiced by somebody who is not a Gen Xer,
[29:44] Speaker 7: let's be honest. But anyone out there who's an Unleash-er
[29:47] Speaker 7: who wants to send us in their problems for the
[29:50] Speaker 7: agony aunts to actually solve completely and change your life
[29:53] Speaker 7: for the better, you can have that done too.
[29:55] Speaker 2: So just if.
[29:56] Speaker 7: You're worried about sending a voice note, don't worry, we've
[29:59] Speaker 7: got you covered. Let's hear from anonymous anonymous.
[30:01] Speaker 6: Yes. I'm 54. And after years of dating apps, I
[30:05] Speaker 6: paid $ 990 to a dating agency to help me find love.
[30:10] Speaker 6: My brief was pretty simple. A man aged 50 to
[30:12] Speaker 6: 60 tall, active, a non-smoker who likes the beach and
[30:16] Speaker 6: travel has a job, his own teeth and knows the
[30:19] Speaker 6: difference between.
[30:20] Speaker 2: Your and you are with an apostrophe.
[30:23] Speaker 6: Apparently I was asking a lot of my six matches.
[30:26] Speaker 6: One had dirty fingernails, no passport. and told me women
[30:29] Speaker 6: over 55 let themselves go. Another was 62 and hadn't
[30:34] Speaker 6: been to the beach in a decade. Then there was Corby,
[30:37] Speaker 6: who was lovely. After five dates, he told the matchmaker
[30:40] Speaker 6: he didn't want to see anyone else. Then I went
[30:42] Speaker 6: away with my sister, sent him a photo of the
[30:44] Speaker 6: hotel view, and never heard from him again. I still
[30:48] Speaker 6: had two matches left, but after I questioned the agency
[30:51] Speaker 6: about the next one, they ghosted me too. I'd agreed
[30:54] Speaker 6: to no photos and was trying to trust the process.
[30:57] Speaker 6: but eventually asked to see a photo of my next match.
[31:00] Speaker 6: The matchmaker told me she'd previously shown my photo to
[31:03] Speaker 6: two great matches who liked my profile, but once they
[31:06] Speaker 6: saw my photo, they weren't interested. Rude.
[31:09] Speaker 2: So now I'm wondering, do I chase the agency for.
[31:11] Speaker 6: My final two dates or accept that $ 990 was the
[31:15] Speaker 6: price of a life lesson and go back to dating
[31:17] Speaker 6: badly for free?
[31:19] Speaker 7: Wow $ 190 that's a lot of money that's a lot
[31:24] Speaker 7: that's loads of money because the other apps are generally
[31:26] Speaker 7: sort of free yeah if you go to an agency
[31:28] Speaker 7: obviously you've got to pay.
[31:29] Speaker 1: For that wow that's some harsh reality reality right.
[31:35] Speaker 7: There what do you think i'm gonna go in with
[31:37] Speaker 7: the legal version of um the situation i think they
[31:42] Speaker 7: had a contract to provide you with eight matches i
[31:44] Speaker 7: don't think they have fulfilled their contract so i think
[31:47] Speaker 7: We can bring in whatever your state's version is of
[31:50] Speaker 7: fair trading and certainly get Claude or ChatGPT or Gemini
[31:54] Speaker 7: to draft you a letter and threaten all sorts of things.
[31:57] Speaker 5: I think at least get your money back. Like that is,
[32:00] Speaker 5: they have a portion of your money back.
[32:02] Speaker 2: The whole lot.
[32:03] Speaker 7: I reckon they have not actually delivered their contractual obligations
[32:06] Speaker 7: to you.
[32:07] Speaker 5: So Anonymous, that is my first tip.
[32:09] Speaker 4: I mean, if you're going to make me pay almost
[32:11] Speaker 4: a thousand dollars, fucking do your job. Right. And you've
[32:14] Speaker 4: got two people left. I say, go in, erase, replace, embrace,
[32:19] Speaker 4: new face.
[32:20] Speaker 5: Oh, wait, wait, wait.
[32:21] Speaker 2: I like that. Can I say that again?
[32:23] Speaker 4: Erase, replace, embrace.
[32:26] Speaker 2: New face.
[32:27] Speaker 3: Said Grace.
[32:27] Speaker 4: Nice. This is what I say to, Grace, Grace Bam
[32:30] Speaker 4: Bam Lam. This is what I say to all my girlfriends, right,
[32:33] Speaker 4: who's looking for love. Do not settle for less and
[32:36] Speaker 4: keep looking. I mean, how I met my husband was
[32:39] Speaker 4: kind of a bit, a funny story because we would,
[32:43] Speaker 4: we were kind of seeing each other when we would work,
[32:45] Speaker 4: when I was at Vogue China and he's a fashion photographer,
[32:48] Speaker 4: he came in and then we had nine months of
[32:51] Speaker 4: me ghosting him because I wanted to go serious and
[32:54] Speaker 4: he wasn't ready. And when men are not ready, they're
[32:56] Speaker 4: never ready, right? So, and then nine months later, he
[32:59] Speaker 4: reconnected with me and I was like dating other people anyway.
[33:02] Speaker 4: And then of course he came up with the one
[33:03] Speaker 4: line and going, oh Grace, I really want us to
[33:05] Speaker 4: go serious because you're the only woman that I ever
[33:07] Speaker 4: want to have a child with and I spat coffee
[33:09] Speaker 4: all over his face. So sometimes you just have to
[33:11] Speaker 4: ride through rough patches to find the one. But who's
[33:15] Speaker 4: to say that we're going to last forever? Who knows, right?
[33:17] Speaker 4: But I definitely think you need to make use of
[33:20] Speaker 4: the two left because you pay for it. Come on.
[33:23] Speaker 8: And also there's something in having very low expectations for
[33:26] Speaker 8: those final two that could invite something that was different
[33:29] Speaker 8: to the other ones.
[33:31] Speaker 1: I also think get out and about. Like I was
[33:34] Speaker 1: in Bunnings on the weekend. That's a good place for men.
[33:37] Speaker 2: Especially if you go to Bunnings, the trade area. That's
[33:41] Speaker 2: just men who know how to use a drill and
[33:44] Speaker 2: a saw. That's just for me.
[33:46] Speaker 1: I think also, you know, as we're going into kind of,
[33:48] Speaker 1: you know, we're in spring going into summer.
[33:50] Speaker 2: Out and about.
[33:51] Speaker 1: There's like a spring in the step. People kind of,
[33:53] Speaker 1: you know, want to meet in real life, I think.
[33:55] Speaker 4: You know, ladies, if I was single again, I would
[33:58] Speaker 4: just wank a lot and just hang out with my girlfriends.
[34:00] Speaker 4: I can't deal with this whole dating shit, man.
[34:03] Speaker 5: Well, Anonymous, I hope that's helped.
[34:04] Speaker 2: Clearly, your problems are all solved.
[34:07] Speaker 5: So that's excellent. You're beautiful. You're amazing. Yeah, go for it.
[34:12] Speaker 5: And that is a very crooked dating agency.
[34:14] Speaker 2: I think.
[34:14] Speaker 8: Yeah, I wouldn't be giving all your power over to
[34:16] Speaker 8: somebody that doesn't even know you or doesn't even return
[34:19] Speaker 8: your calls or emails.
[34:20] Speaker 7: Amen to that, sisters. But that is all we have
[34:23] Speaker 7: time for today. Now, before you guys go back into
[34:26] Speaker 7: the world, can we ask you one tiny itty-bitty thing?
[34:30] Speaker 5: Share this episode.
[34:31] Speaker 7: Share it with your besties, the ones you're dating, maybe
[34:34] Speaker 7: the ones who need a laugh. From all the dating
[34:37] Speaker 7: stories that you have, hit the share button on the
[34:39] Speaker 7: podcast app for us.
[34:41] Speaker 5: And if you want to contact the show.
[34:42] Speaker 7: You can DM us at atunleashed.show on Instagram.
[34:45] Speaker 2: We seriously, we.
[34:46] Speaker 5: Read every single message.
[34:48] Speaker 2: We so love them.
[34:49] Speaker 5: And we particularly love your voice notes. And we are
[34:51] Speaker 5: going to be back next Tuesday. So as we like
[34:53] Speaker 5: to say, see you next Tuesday.
[34:56] Speaker 7: But until next time, stay unfiltered, stay unreasonable and stay unleashed.
[35:01] Speaker 1: Bye.
