[0:07] SPEAKER_01: What up, what up, my bookmark bandits, and welcome to Smut Syndicate.
[0:12] SPEAKER_01: I am Charlie.
[0:13] SPEAKER_01: And I'm Danielle.
[0:14] SPEAKER_01: Today we are covering our top books of 2025 with a whopping what 500?
[0:22] SPEAKER_01: Probably a little bit over that between the two of us.
[0:24] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[0:24] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[0:25] SPEAKER_01: So we have put together what were the best of the best.
[0:29] SPEAKER_01: Um, we're gonna have a quick chat on each little book and see if we can convince you to read some of these.
[0:34] SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna try to spoil anything, but we're idiots.
[0:38] SPEAKER_01: So no promises.
[0:40] SPEAKER_00: Now, obviously, these are not all books that came out in 2025.
[0:44] SPEAKER_00: This is just when we got to them.
[0:45] SPEAKER_00: And some of these books may have been a reread, but it was still consumed within the year.
[0:51] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[0:51] SPEAKER_01: So, okay, first on the list, this was one of the first ones that we actually read this year was Bound by Gravity by Jenny Hickman.
[1:01] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
[1:02] SPEAKER_01: This book is incredible.
[1:04] SPEAKER_01: It is book one of the Bound and Freed Duology.
[1:07] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[1:08] SPEAKER_01: Um, this book honestly felt to me like how Akatar felt the first time.
[1:14] SPEAKER_00: It feels like having your brain chemistry rewired.
[1:18] SPEAKER_00: It changes you as a person.
[1:21] SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
[1:22] SPEAKER_00: In the worst and the best ways.
[1:25] SPEAKER_01: It's just this is quintessential romantic.
[1:31] SPEAKER_01: Like at its finest.
[1:33] SPEAKER_01: So basically, quick summary.
[1:35] SPEAKER_01: Um it has some spice.
[1:38] SPEAKER_01: We've got a prince who is obviously supposed to marry a princess, and he meets and falls in love with someone who's below his station, uh, Elette, and she's arranged to be engaged to some old lord.
[1:52] SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, basically, no one wants them to end up together.
[1:56] SPEAKER_01: And this book has like the craziest cliffhanger, and it just I remember just bawling my eyes out.
[2:04] SPEAKER_01: Like they're this book, actually, like she Jenny Hickman to me.
[2:09] SPEAKER_01: I feel like she is writing books for me.
[2:12] SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like she's doing something in my brain, and she knows what I want to like hear from a book, what I need to read, what what it will take for it to be five stars, and she's like, perfect, here, here it is.
[2:26] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that that was this book because it the world building is incredible.
[2:32] SPEAKER_00: It's insane.
[2:33] SPEAKER_00: Like everything about this book, not just the first one, but the second one is the second one as well.
[2:36] SPEAKER_00: This was probably the first book this year that I read start to finish in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down.
[2:42] SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and then immediately jumped into the second one.
[2:45] SPEAKER_01: Because it it it just honestly, it's so amazing, and like the love story between them and and even the twists, because for a long time you don't actually realize that they like each other and that there's this whole, you know, like thing going on with them, and it yeah, this one had a lot of twists, a lot of people that I thought were friends, but they were foes and a lot of foes that actually turned out to be friends.
[3:14] SPEAKER_00: Oh, this book is so good.
[3:15] SPEAKER_00: I straight up bitch slap me in the feelings.
[3:19] SPEAKER_00: I bought repeatedly so far.
[3:20] SPEAKER_01: I have two copies of it, it's not enough, and I need more.
[3:24] SPEAKER_01: Like every time that I see a different like bookish box is like, hey, we're doing a special edition.
[3:29] SPEAKER_01: I'm like, yeah, I could use that.
[3:30] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[3:31] SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I absolutely like need that.
[3:33] SPEAKER_01: I think this is going to have to be um one that we do a deep dive on right away.
[3:38] SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
[3:39] SPEAKER_01: Because this book, like I said, this was my first time reading a Jenny Hickman novel, and I have gone through and read almost everything now.
[3:50] SPEAKER_00: She just she brings back yearning.
[3:52] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[3:53] SPEAKER_00: We need more winged men yearnings.
[3:55] SPEAKER_00: And she's doing that for me.
[3:56] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[3:57] SPEAKER_01: Only for me.
[3:58] SPEAKER_01: And she does a really good job of, like I said, like it feels like Avatar without being the carbon copy of Akatar with still having her own, like interesting characters.
[4:11] SPEAKER_01: They have different things that's happening to them.
[4:13] SPEAKER_01: It's not just the copy of the like shadow daddy and this kind of love.
[4:19] SPEAKER_01: And you know, like it is still very fresh and new and different and heartbreaking.
[4:25] SPEAKER_01: And she's also honestly such a kind and gentle soul.
[4:29] SPEAKER_01: If you watch her like social media, you just you want to support everything that she does.
[4:34] SPEAKER_01: And she lives in Ireland, so like she wins.
[4:37] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she wins everything.
[4:38] SPEAKER_00: Five stars, ten of ten.
[4:40] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, love it.
[4:40] SPEAKER_01: Love that absolutely love it.
[4:42] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so second one.
[4:43] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[4:44] SPEAKER_00: I will not shut up about this book.
[4:47] SPEAKER_00: Like, you could pay me to stop talking about it, and I wouldn't.
[4:50] SPEAKER_00: The Night in the Moss by Rachel Gillick.
[4:52] SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
[4:54] SPEAKER_00: One word.
[4:55] SPEAKER_01: Bartholomew.
[4:56] SPEAKER_01: Bartholomew.
[4:57] SPEAKER_01: Bartholomew.
[4:59] SPEAKER_01: The crazy thing about Rachel Gillig novels is number one, from what I have like looked into, I think she only has the three.
[5:09] SPEAKER_01: I think this is her third book.
[5:12] SPEAKER_01: I think she only started publishing books in 2023.
[5:17] SPEAKER_01: I I have looked.
[5:18] SPEAKER_01: I've also reached out to her.
[5:19] SPEAKER_01: Rachel, answer my questions.
[5:22] SPEAKER_01: Is there other books?
[5:24] SPEAKER_01: How did you do this?
[5:25] SPEAKER_01: Like, how smart are you?
[5:27] SPEAKER_00: Big brain energy.
[5:28] SPEAKER_01: Yes, she got that big brain energy.
[5:30] SPEAKER_00: I also feel like she writes her books like she knows secrets that we don't, and she's not gonna tell it to us.
[5:37] SPEAKER_01: She must know magic.
[5:39] SPEAKER_01: This is what this is what it looks like to know magic, is this?
[5:42] SPEAKER_01: So The Knight and the Moth.
[5:44] SPEAKER_01: We've got this is book one in the Stonewater Kingdom series.
[5:49] SPEAKER_01: It's a gothic fantasy novel, which her other two books are also very gothic fantasy.
[5:55] SPEAKER_01: And we've got Sybil, who is a diviner, which is like, I don't what exactly like she sees the most like a seer, yeah.
[6:04] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like a seer.
[6:05] SPEAKER_01: Um and she lives in this great cathedral, and she has all these other diviners, and they go missing, and she needs help solving the mystery of where her diviner sisters have disappeared to, and she meets a brave knight, Roderick.
[6:20] SPEAKER_01: I love a man with eyeliner.
[6:22] SPEAKER_01: Oh, right, and she wants him to accompany her, and off they go.
[6:27] SPEAKER_01: And we also have Gargoyle sidekicks, which is where we get the name Bartholomew from, is the main sidekick.
[6:37] SPEAKER_01: Uh calls everybody Bartholomew because he's a dick.
[6:40] SPEAKER_01: So I he can do nothing wrong.
[6:42] SPEAKER_01: It gives me hunchback at Notre Dame, like the Disney.
[6:46] SPEAKER_00: Don't you dare do that to my Bartholomew.
[6:50] SPEAKER_01: That was exactly where my brain went is I was like, I I love this sidekick.
[6:56] SPEAKER_01: Like straight to jail.
[6:59] SPEAKER_01: Straight to jail.
[7:00] SPEAKER_01: I honestly I love it.
[7:01] SPEAKER_01: And the thing with like you have to be in the right mindset to read a Rachel Gillig novel because you're learning a different language.
[7:10] SPEAKER_00: What's the wrong mindset?
[7:12] SPEAKER_00: Because I have yet to read any of her books that didn't take me on a fucking wild ride.
[7:17] SPEAKER_00: But I don't want to get off.
[7:19] SPEAKER_01: Oh, you got to be like fully paying attention because there is so her world building.
[7:25] SPEAKER_01: That's fair.
[7:26] SPEAKER_01: Wow.
[7:26] SPEAKER_00: But she does it in a way that like it's not hard to follow along if you are kind of half-assed following along.
[7:33] SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
[7:33] SPEAKER_01: Like it and it's just it's so interesting.
[7:36] SPEAKER_01: She's like top tier writer.
[7:38] SPEAKER_01: You're like, I don't care, man.
[7:39] SPEAKER_01: Just fuck me up.
[7:40] SPEAKER_01: I'm going on this ride with you.
[7:42] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[7:42] SPEAKER_01: She I honestly, what did she do for a job before this?
[7:46] SPEAKER_01: How are you this intelligent?
[7:47] SPEAKER_01: Where are you getting these ideas from?
[7:49] SPEAKER_01: Because they're they're hallucinogenes.
[7:52] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[7:53] SPEAKER_00: Are you copious amounts of hallucinogenics?
[7:55] SPEAKER_00: Are you just going on these like peyote trips in the desert?
[7:58] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I also imagine that she only writes the drafts on like an etch a sketch, or she just like sits there like tripping hard, like twisting her little etch a sketch wheels, and she's like, This is it.
[8:08] SPEAKER_01: She's like perfect Bartholomew, and it's ready.
[8:11] SPEAKER_01: Send it to the publisher.
[8:12] SPEAKER_01: And they're like, What are we gonna do with the thing?
[8:14] SPEAKER_01: What am I looking at here?
[8:14] SPEAKER_01: They're like, Oh, it's from Rachel Gillick, yeah, let's do it.
[8:17] SPEAKER_01: Send it, just package it up right now.
[8:20] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it honestly, if you if you have not read her books, the next one is coming out.
[8:25] SPEAKER_01: Oh, I keep confusing my months.
[8:27] SPEAKER_01: It's coming out this year or 2026, sorry.
[8:30] SPEAKER_01: In the series, in the series, yeah.
[8:32] SPEAKER_01: And I think it's also going to be a duology, so it's going, which I I kind of love that because I'm very impatient.
[8:39] SPEAKER_01: I'll give you a year of my time, but also I'm very forgetful, you know.
[8:44] SPEAKER_01: I got that dementia.
[8:45] SPEAKER_01: So you know, don't keep me waiting too long because it's also very hard for me to go back and do like a reread and understand, you know, and get in that same feeling.
[8:55] SPEAKER_00: But so the next book is gonna be titled The Knave and the Moon.
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: Yes, and it is scheduled to release September 1st, 2026.
[9:01] SPEAKER_00: So we still have a little bit to go, but we're making progress.
[9:05] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you've got time, but you don't have that much time.
[9:08] SPEAKER_01: Stop dicking around, read it now so that you can tell us what you think about it.
[9:12] SPEAKER_01: Read it a couple times, honestly.
[9:14] SPEAKER_01: And Rachel, just tell us how smart are you?
[9:16] SPEAKER_01: What's your IQ?
[9:17] SPEAKER_01: How many other books have you written?
[9:19] SPEAKER_01: A lot.
[9:19] SPEAKER_01: Do you have a do you have a fake name?
[9:21] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[9:21] SPEAKER_01: Do you have you published under a different name?
[9:24] SPEAKER_00: We need to know.
[9:24] SPEAKER_00: These are very important questions.
[9:25] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the third book, we're going from fantasy now to something a little spicier.
[9:32] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[9:33] SPEAKER_01: Psychotic Obsession by Lee Rivers.
[9:35] SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
[9:36] SPEAKER_01: I just I know I'm noticing a trend.
[9:38] SPEAKER_01: Every author that we have picked, these are like insta buy, insta read, like they can do no wrong.
[9:47] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[9:48] SPEAKER_01: She's just a perfect sweet angel.
[9:50] SPEAKER_01: Like, I just everything about her I I love.
[9:54] SPEAKER_01: Like, me too.
[9:55] SPEAKER_01: I have a huge girl crush on Lee Rivers.
[9:58] SPEAKER_00: Because everything she's everything she's doing right now is it.
[10:02] SPEAKER_00: It it's it.
[10:03] SPEAKER_01: And okay, so psychotic obsession.
[10:06] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[10:06] SPEAKER_01: This is the prequel too.
[10:09] SPEAKER_00: Technically, I think we're yeah, prequel.
[10:11] SPEAKER_00: Because it's about 20-ish years before the Edge of Darkness trilogy, which if you haven't read, what are you doing?
[10:16] SPEAKER_00: Oh man, stop stop listening to this and go.
[10:20] SPEAKER_00: Cade Mitchell's his daddy.
[10:23] SPEAKER_00: Daddy?
[10:23] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[10:24] SPEAKER_00: We have Tobias Mitchell.
[10:27] SPEAKER_01: So which love the name Tobias already.
[10:30] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[10:30] SPEAKER_01: Perfection right there.
[10:32] SPEAKER_00: And it's a dark romance about Dr.
[10:35] SPEAKER_00: Arya Miller.
[10:36] SPEAKER_00: I love an FMC that's just like got her shit together.
[10:40] SPEAKER_01: And she's not just like a doctor, she's like a doctor that's like the head of like, you know, she's doing experimental treatment.
[10:48] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[10:48] SPEAKER_01: She's out here.
[10:49] SPEAKER_01: She is changing the world for the better.
[10:52] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she is such an important person that she has an assistant.
[10:56] SPEAKER_01: Also, she's like, Dr.
[10:58] SPEAKER_01: Aria Miller is like an experimental biomedical blah blah blah doctor.
[11:05] SPEAKER_01: She's also from Scotland.
[11:06] SPEAKER_01: Does that sound like a certain author who wrote this book?
[11:10] SPEAKER_01: Is Dr.
[11:11] SPEAKER_01: Aria Miller Lee Rivers?
[11:12] SPEAKER_00: I think she might be living this life.
[11:15] SPEAKER_00: Did she meet her assistant, Lab Tech guy?
[11:18] SPEAKER_00: Right.
[11:18] SPEAKER_00: And find out that it was Tobias.
[11:20] SPEAKER_01: Tobias, right?
[11:21] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[11:22] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[11:22] SPEAKER_01: So yeah, she comes stateside, which is it only considered stateside if you live in the states, or do we refer to it as stateside?
[11:30] SPEAKER_00: I have never once heard that term used.
[11:32] SPEAKER_00: Well in Canada.
[11:33] SPEAKER_01: In the Transformers movie.
[11:35] SPEAKER_01: So okay, so it's obviously a real thing that people are saying.
[11:39] unknown: Right.
[11:39] SPEAKER_01: So they go stateside.
[11:42] SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
[11:43] SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
[11:44] SPEAKER_01: Um, to do some experimental treatments, and she meets this little assistant number, and it's Tobias Mitchell, and he is not well, but also that's the kind of love that I want.
[11:58] SPEAKER_01: Like uh just unquenchable, just all-consuming, terrifying love, and it becomes a psychotic obsession.
[12:10] SPEAKER_01: But also, I love that we've kind of got so we get to see the backstory.
[12:14] SPEAKER_01: Like you can read this one as a standalone, but also don't rob yourself of the joy of the Edge of Darkness trilogy.
[12:21] SPEAKER_01: Read that first and then come read this.
[12:23] SPEAKER_01: Um, we also get to see a little bit of the background of her relationship with how do we say this?
[12:31] SPEAKER_01: Ewen?
[12:31] SPEAKER_01: Ewen.
[12:32] SPEAKER_01: Ewan?
[12:33] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[12:34] SPEAKER_01: Ewen.
[12:35] SPEAKER_01: Ewan.
[12:36] SPEAKER_01: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
[12:37] SPEAKER_01: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
[12:38] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[12:38] SPEAKER_01: We get to see her, like a little bit of the background of the relationship with them, which again, when you read the Edge of Darkness trilogy.
[12:46] SPEAKER_00: Really ties it all together and it makes so much more sense.
[12:48] SPEAKER_00: She just is.
[12:49] SPEAKER_00: But this book such joy is dark.
[12:53] SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
[12:53] SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
[12:54] SPEAKER_00: We get to see and hear and read every disturbing, depraved thought that she has ever had, I think.
[13:01] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[13:02] SPEAKER_00: Just like rolled up into one little bundle and then titled Psychotic Obsession.
[13:06] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[13:06] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, pretty much.
[13:07] SPEAKER_01: But honestly, because we all read another little prequel book this year, and we knew that the main character died and that some bad stuff happened.
[13:18] SPEAKER_01: And what did we not get in that book?
[13:20] SPEAKER_01: I won't mention names.
[13:22] SPEAKER_01: We didn't get a death.
[13:23] SPEAKER_01: We got a happy ending.
[13:24] SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I want, I want to cry.
[13:28] SPEAKER_01: I want to be upset.
[13:29] SPEAKER_01: I I this, you know, like this is the book then.
[13:32] SPEAKER_01: It's called Psychotic Obsession.
[13:34] SPEAKER_01: What do you mean they're gonna be happy?
[13:35] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, ruin my day.
[13:37] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[13:37] SPEAKER_01: Like I and and yeah, I felt quite upset for a lot of this book.
[13:42] SPEAKER_01: Same.
[13:43] SPEAKER_01: Which five stars.
[13:44] SPEAKER_01: That's why I made the list.
[13:45] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[13:46] SPEAKER_01: With that upset feeling.
[13:48] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so number four on our list.
[13:51] SPEAKER_01: And I put these one through five.
[13:53] SPEAKER_01: That does not mean that it just was a numerical.
[13:56] SPEAKER_01: They're just the top five.
[13:57] SPEAKER_01: It's just the top five.
[13:58] SPEAKER_01: This doesn't actually mean that this is number four.
[14:01] SPEAKER_01: We're just saying number four because we're talking about it fourth in line.
[14:04] SPEAKER_01: This is an old book by another fave author of ours, but you found this one this year.
[14:11] SPEAKER_00: I stumbled upon this.
[14:12] SPEAKER_00: I think it was just uh hey, you read this, so now read this.
[14:16] SPEAKER_00: Oh changed my life.
[14:18] SPEAKER_00: This book, I don't understand how people are not screaming about it.
[14:25] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[14:26] SPEAKER_00: I like it.
[14:26] SPEAKER_00: I want to hit people in the face with a hard copy every time.
[14:30] SPEAKER_00: Every time I think about it, I just wish I had one on hand to just beat the shit out of someone with it and then be like, this is my gift to you.
[14:35] SPEAKER_00: Please do.
[14:36] SPEAKER_01: I want to kidnap people and make them read this book.
[14:40] SPEAKER_01: And once they tell me that it also gives that it's also five stars, you may now go back to your life.
[14:45] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[14:46] SPEAKER_01: If you do not rate this five stars, Achilla, you read it again.
[14:49] SPEAKER_01: I mean, you read it again.
[14:51] SPEAKER_01: Your thing might.
[14:53] SPEAKER_01: You know what?
[14:54] SPEAKER_01: The result is the same.
[14:55] SPEAKER_01: And that is A Shadow in the Reaping by Bryn Weaver.
[14:58] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[14:59] SPEAKER_01: Like, what?
[15:00] SPEAKER_01: Brynn can write?
[15:03] SPEAKER_00: She can do it all.
[15:04] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[15:04] SPEAKER_00: This book was fucking amazing.
[15:07] SPEAKER_00: It's a dark paranormal paranormal.
[15:10] SPEAKER_00: Paranormal.
[15:11] SPEAKER_00: Paranormal fantasy romance about Lou, who's a vampire and siren, I guess.
[15:17] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[15:17] SPEAKER_00: And Ashin, who is a grim reaper who is tasked with taking out all of the paranormal baddies.
[15:24] SPEAKER_00: Yay.
[15:25] SPEAKER_00: So basically, she saves him.
[15:27] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[15:28] SPEAKER_00: They got a band together to save some super jacked werewolf vampire hybrids that's trying to kill everybody.
[15:34] SPEAKER_00: This book is hilarious.
[15:35] SPEAKER_00: Man.
[15:35] SPEAKER_00: If you have ever been into or thought about being into Deadpool, but you kind of want a Deadpool to be a hot siren vampire female.
[15:44] SPEAKER_00: It's Lou.
[15:45] SPEAKER_00: This is the book.
[15:46] SPEAKER_00: It's Lou.
[15:46] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[15:47] SPEAKER_01: It is next level.
[15:49] SPEAKER_01: And like Bryn does pop culture references so well.
[15:53] SPEAKER_01: And like the only thing that I know in life is pop culture.
[15:56] SPEAKER_01: That's true.
[15:57] SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, Regular Jeopardy, I suck ass.
[16:00] SPEAKER_01: Pop culture Jeopardy?
[16:02] SPEAKER_01: Your girl kills.
[16:04] SPEAKER_01: And so that's that's what Bryn's books are.
[16:07] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[16:08] SPEAKER_01: Like, even I read a book earlier this year.
[16:10] SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna name names, but all the pop culture references were like George Clooney and like stuff from the 90s, and it was a new book.
[16:18] SPEAKER_01: And like when they referenced that the main male character was like hot, like George Clooney, I was like, what year is this?
[16:25] SPEAKER_01: The thing with Bryn is her stuff is like relevant.
[16:28] SPEAKER_01: Like the main, so like Lou, the siren, one of the first we're not ruining anything.
[16:34] SPEAKER_01: This is in the first chapter.
[16:35] SPEAKER_01: No, this isn't giving anything away.
[16:36] SPEAKER_01: This is in the first chapter.
[16:38] SPEAKER_01: When she is singing someone to their death, she is singing a ballad from WAP.
[16:44] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[16:45] SPEAKER_00: To their death because she is a siren.
[16:48] unknown: Yes.
[16:49] SPEAKER_00: She's singing WAP.
[16:50] SPEAKER_00: She's singing WAP.
[16:52] SPEAKER_00: That brand girl.
[16:55] SPEAKER_00: That shit is so funny.
[16:57] SPEAKER_00: Everything about this book.
[16:58] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[16:59] SPEAKER_00: There's you have so many different elements.
[17:01] SPEAKER_00: We have all the paranormal stuff.
[17:02] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[17:03] SPEAKER_00: The different realms.
[17:04] SPEAKER_00: I think we go to Egypt at one realm.
[17:06] SPEAKER_01: Realms were so BA in this because yeah, like we go, I can't remember if it's this book or if it's book two in the series, but we go to heaven.
[17:15] SPEAKER_01: We go to the Grim Reaper realm, which is so the way that she describes it, it's like terrifying, but it's also exactly like you can picture it perfectly.
[17:27] SPEAKER_01: Like you're like, yes, this is this is it.
[17:30] SPEAKER_01: And we also we have like a lot of different characters and elements throughout it.
[17:36] SPEAKER_01: We also have like because we've got a siren vampire, this chick is thousands of years old.
[17:42] SPEAKER_01: She's so bad at the time.
[17:43] SPEAKER_01: She does such a great job of incorporating that, you know.
[17:47] SPEAKER_01: Like it, it just I I didn't know that she could write like this because everything else that I've read of Bryn's has been, you know, the Ruinous Love trilogy.
[17:56] SPEAKER_01: We've got serial killers.
[17:57] SPEAKER_01: There, most of them are contemporary romance.
[18:00] SPEAKER_01: This was the first time.
[18:01] SPEAKER_01: Like, I was like, Whoa, you can write romanticy, but it's not even romantic, it's like romanticy comedy.
[18:09] SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
[18:10] SPEAKER_00: Oh, it if you read and if if you take away anything from this list, it better be this fucking book.
[18:15] SPEAKER_00: Read this book, or else we will kidnap you.
[18:17] SPEAKER_01: Yes, and we'll beat you until you give this book five stars.
[18:21] SPEAKER_01: So just do it now.
[18:22] SPEAKER_01: Just do it now.
[18:24] SPEAKER_01: Save yourself the beating.
[18:25] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
[18:26] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now this one for Smut Syndicate to even cover it is crazy because this is like I just learned this like word, closed door spice off page.
[18:37] SPEAKER_00: PG 13.
[18:38] SPEAKER_01: Yes, PG 13, which is crazy because not all of her books are.
[18:42] SPEAKER_01: So I am very curious why she did that with this book.
[18:46] SPEAKER_01: Lucy, hit me up.
[18:47] SPEAKER_01: Why did you do that with this book?
[18:49] SPEAKER_01: We are talking about The Dead Guy Next Door by Lucy Score.
[18:52] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[18:53] SPEAKER_01: Holy shit, this book is funny.
[18:56] SPEAKER_01: It is holy shit.
[18:57] SPEAKER_01: This book is funny.
[18:59] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
[19:00] SPEAKER_01: This, okay.
[19:01] SPEAKER_01: I know everyone says, oh my god, I altered my freaking brain chemistry.
[19:05] SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no, no.
[19:06] SPEAKER_01: This book for me, this book was trying heroin.
[19:11] SPEAKER_01: I, the high liking it?
[19:13] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[19:13] SPEAKER_01: The high that I chased after reading this book.
[19:17] SPEAKER_01: The time that I wasted trying to find books similar to this book, man, I'm never getting that time back.
[19:24] SPEAKER_01: You know what, Lucy?
[19:25] SPEAKER_01: I'm billing you.
[19:26] SPEAKER_01: I am never getting that time back.
[19:28] SPEAKER_01: But let me tell you, I pushed this book.
[19:31] SPEAKER_01: I pushed this onto a lot of people.
[19:34] SPEAKER_01: I push this onto children.
[19:36] SPEAKER_01: I push this on to old ladies.
[19:38] SPEAKER_01: I push this onto Randos on street corners.
[19:41] SPEAKER_01: Everybody loved it.
[19:43] SPEAKER_01: Because it's amazing.
[19:44] SPEAKER_01: Everybody loved it.
[19:45] SPEAKER_01: It is so freaking funny.
[19:46] SPEAKER_01: So this is book one in the Riley Thorne series.
[19:50] SPEAKER_01: And it basically, okay, so Riley is this psychic who's trying to solve a murder of you guessed it?
[19:59] SPEAKER_01: The guy next door.
[20:00] SPEAKER_01: The dead guy next door.
[20:01] SPEAKER_01: And she is accompanied by Nick Santiago, who's like a PI retired or fired cop.
[20:09] SPEAKER_01: I can't remember why he's not a cop anymore.
[20:12] SPEAKER_01: But he's also looking into this thing.
[20:14] SPEAKER_01: Someone hires him because I guess this guy owes money or whatever.
[20:17] SPEAKER_01: And they kind of band together.
[20:20] SPEAKER_01: And it just holy shit, it is funny.
[20:23] SPEAKER_01: It is so funny.
[20:24] SPEAKER_01: It's so funny.
[20:25] SPEAKER_00: Like it's very rare for me to laugh out loud when I read a book.
[20:29] SPEAKER_00: I and it's fucking died reading this book the whole time.
[20:33] SPEAKER_00: Like tears in my eyes crying, I'm laughing so hard.
[20:35] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[20:36] SPEAKER_01: And but it's funny without being like too much, where you're like, okay, your girl's trying way too hard.
[20:43] SPEAKER_01: Like this book sent me into such a spin that because of this, I read the entire series or what there is now.
[20:50] SPEAKER_01: You like deep dove Lucy's life.
[20:53] SPEAKER_01: It was every single book that she ever read or wrote.
[20:57] SPEAKER_01: Then I wrote, then I read her sister's books.
[20:59] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[20:59] SPEAKER_01: And then I read any time that somebody even like looked at her, I was like, let me also read all of their books.
[21:07] SPEAKER_01: Because I started reading like the Claire Kinsley book.
[21:09] SPEAKER_00: Oh, you chased that high.
[21:10] SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
[21:12] SPEAKER_01: It did stuff to my brain.
[21:14] SPEAKER_01: As it should.
[21:15] SPEAKER_01: Really good stuff.
[21:16] SPEAKER_01: Top five.
[21:16] SPEAKER_01: Really, really good stuff.
[21:17] SPEAKER_01: Oh, top five.
[21:18] SPEAKER_01: Like it it's a book where literally, like every chapter, you're like, I am having fun.
[21:24] SPEAKER_01: Like this, this is the most fun that I've ever had.
[21:28] SPEAKER_00: And this will not ruin any part of this book, but there is a scene in this book that I think about literally once a week where she falls down the stairs, but the way it is written is so detailed that you visualize.
[21:44] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[21:44] SPEAKER_00: And if you don't laugh at people falling, specifically falling down the stairs, book's not for you.
[21:49] SPEAKER_00: It's not for you.
[21:49] SPEAKER_00: No books.
[21:50] SPEAKER_00: But also like I probably hate you.
[21:53] SPEAKER_00: And just read this book.
[21:56] SPEAKER_00: It is so funny.
[21:57] SPEAKER_00: It's so good.
[21:57] SPEAKER_00: But the story is so different than anything else.
[22:00] SPEAKER_00: I've ever written.
[22:01] SPEAKER_00: Written.
[22:02] SPEAKER_00: I read a lot of books.
[22:04] SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have the same or even similar plot to anything I've ever read.
[22:11] SPEAKER_01: And like I said, I chased this high.
[22:13] SPEAKER_01: I literally looked for books that are similar to this.
[22:18] SPEAKER_01: And every time I was like disappointed.
[22:21] SPEAKER_01: Like I was like, oh, okay, cool.
[22:23] SPEAKER_01: You can fuck off.
[22:24] SPEAKER_01: Like, thanks for wrecking my life.
[22:26] SPEAKER_01: Thanks for nothing.
[22:27] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[22:27] SPEAKER_01: Like every time I'd be like, oh my god, they say it's just like this book.
[22:30] SPEAKER_01: And the crazy thing is, it's not that well known.
[22:34] SPEAKER_01: No.
[22:34] SPEAKER_01: It's not even her most popular like series.
[22:38] SPEAKER_01: It's not talked about.
[22:39] SPEAKER_01: Like this, this is again like a shadow in the reaping.
[22:42] SPEAKER_01: Where it's like, okay, I get it.
[22:44] SPEAKER_01: I'm with you guys.
[22:44] SPEAKER_01: Like this person is doing incredible stuff.
[22:47] SPEAKER_01: But like Lucy's even working on other series.
[22:50] SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[22:52] SPEAKER_01: You still mentioned that there might be a book five.
[22:54] SPEAKER_01: Like, I need 60 more of this series.
[22:58] SPEAKER_01: Like, I, if I win the lottery, I will be paying Lucy to write just to write.
[23:05] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[23:05] SPEAKER_01: Just to, you know, like write me a page a day.
[23:08] SPEAKER_01: Just write me a page and send it to me.
[23:10] SPEAKER_00: A little essay.
[23:11] SPEAKER_00: Oh, it is so good.
[23:13] SPEAKER_01: Frickin' good.
[23:13] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[23:14] SPEAKER_01: Oh, it it is so good.
[23:16] SPEAKER_01: And the fact that there is like no spice is what I absolutely love.
[23:20] SPEAKER_01: Because, like I said, I can recommend it to anyone, and they'll come back and be like, wow, that book was incredible.
[23:26] SPEAKER_01: Because there is still like the love and the angst that's going on in it.
[23:30] SPEAKER_01: There's a little something for everyone in that book.
[23:32] SPEAKER_01: But it's not, you can recommend it to anyone.
[23:35] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[23:35] SPEAKER_01: And they'll love it.
[23:36] SPEAKER_01: It's so good.
[23:36] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[23:37] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now we've got that's our that's our top five for the year.
[23:41] SPEAKER_01: For the year, which honestly, that's a good list.
[23:44] SPEAKER_01: That's a great list.
[23:45] SPEAKER_01: I gotta go and reread them all.
[23:47] SPEAKER_01: Like that's that's a solid list.
[23:49] SPEAKER_01: But we also have a few honorable mentions.
[23:52] SPEAKER_01: So the first one, it best novella is Fatal Collision by Harley Beck.
[23:57] SPEAKER_01: I loved this.
[23:58] SPEAKER_01: Wow.
[23:58] SPEAKER_00: I loved it.
[23:59] SPEAKER_01: This book came out of nowhere.
[24:01] SPEAKER_00: I think I was scrolling, I was doom scrolling one day.
[24:04] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[24:06] SPEAKER_00: And somebody had done a review.
[24:08] SPEAKER_00: I almost wish I knew who it was now so that I could go back and give them a little forehead kiss for us.
[24:14] SPEAKER_00: But this book, so unexpected.
[24:17] SPEAKER_00: I'm not going to tell you anything about it.
[24:18] SPEAKER_00: I want you to go in blind.
[24:20] SPEAKER_00: And then I want you to tell me about it.
[24:21] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[24:22] SPEAKER_00: Because it was so good.
[24:24] SPEAKER_01: And the second one is coming out like next week.
[24:27] SPEAKER_01: Like, actually, by the time that this is up, the next one will be out in like two days.
[24:30] SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
[24:31] SPEAKER_01: And it's a Bella.
[24:33] SPEAKER_01: Come on.
[24:33] SPEAKER_01: Like, this is less than 200 pages.
[24:35] SPEAKER_01: But what I noticed, okay.
[24:37] SPEAKER_01: So number one, Harley Beck, if uh my little Lee Rivers gals out there, she co-wrote Chokehold with Lee Rivers.
[24:46] SPEAKER_01: And I've read actually a few of her, like this book again, it kind of sent me into a spiral.
[24:52] SPEAKER_01: And I was like, wow, this book was so incredible.
[24:54] SPEAKER_01: Let me consume everything else that you've ever written.
[24:58] SPEAKER_01: Wow, she's got like for a contemporary romance, she also does romanticies, and she's got a couple romanticies that are like, why choose between like angels and devils?
[25:11] SPEAKER_01: Like there are some stuff that she's doing.
[25:14] SPEAKER_01: She's doing good things.
[25:15] SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, she's doing really incredible things.
[25:18] SPEAKER_01: But normally when you read a novella, I find like it misses stuff.
[25:22] SPEAKER_01: There's, you know, like either your plot is missing or you don't have enough spice, or there's you know, there is something missing in it.
[25:29] SPEAKER_01: This one did not have it, this one had everything, and that last chapter.
[25:35] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
[25:36] SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
[25:37] SPEAKER_01: The twist in this book.
[25:38] SPEAKER_01: I need the next book so badly.
[25:41] SPEAKER_01: Like, I just I need it.
[25:44] SPEAKER_01: I need it.
[25:44] SPEAKER_01: I know I only have to wait a couple of days, but I'm kind of overweighting.
[25:48] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so then best series.
[25:50] SPEAKER_01: So I chose a best series for fantasy series as well as like just regular romance.
[25:58] SPEAKER_00: A little regular romance.
[26:01] SPEAKER_01: So the best series that I picked for fantasy is the Death Series by Penelope Sky.
[26:08] SPEAKER_01: Wow.
[26:09] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
[26:09] SPEAKER_01: I'm only okay.
[26:10] SPEAKER_01: So I think there's eight books in this series.
[26:13] SPEAKER_01: I am only three books in.
[26:16] SPEAKER_01: Okay.
[26:17] SPEAKER_01: But it it's fourth wing meets Throne of Glass with Necromancy.
[26:23] SPEAKER_00: And if that doesn't sell you, then what will?
[26:26] SPEAKER_01: Then what will?
[26:27] SPEAKER_01: What will?
[26:27] SPEAKER_01: It honestly is so good.
[26:30] SPEAKER_01: Like we've got dragons, but we've got Dwaggins.
[26:33] SPEAKER_00: We've got Dwagons.
[26:36] SPEAKER_01: But like these characters are older.
[26:39] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[26:39] SPEAKER_01: So we're, you know, sometimes when I read Fourth Wing, like I love Fourth Wing, don't get me wrong.
[26:44] SPEAKER_01: But when I read stuff where they're like children in school, I'm like, I'm bad stuff.
[26:51] SPEAKER_00: I don't want to hear about no youngest.
[26:56] SPEAKER_01: Like, just just lie and tell me that you're at least 30.
[26:59] SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm asking.
[27:00] SPEAKER_00: Just go with that.
[27:01] SPEAKER_01: Just say that everybody's 30.
[27:02] SPEAKER_01: Like, let's stop, let's stop being 18, 19.
[27:06] SPEAKER_01: Because also, I don't even think that I can give some of these books to an 18 and 19 year old because I don't know if it's appropriate for them to be reading it.
[27:16] SPEAKER_01: So, like, let's just, in my mind, everybody's 30.
[27:19] SPEAKER_01: Everybody's a very mature, consenting adult.
[27:23] SPEAKER_01: That's that's fair.
[27:25] SPEAKER_01: The second series that I chose, uh, romance one was The Boys of Tomin's by Chloe Walsh.
[27:30] SPEAKER_01: Whole Ruined My Life.
[27:32] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
[27:32] SPEAKER_00: Oh ruined my life.
[27:34] SPEAKER_00: I didn't eat, I didn't sleep.
[27:35] SPEAKER_00: No, you can't.
[27:36] SPEAKER_00: I didn't get dressed.
[27:37] SPEAKER_00: I think I was in like a full excited delirium state while reading these books.
[27:43] SPEAKER_00: Nothing mattered.
[27:44] SPEAKER_01: No, nothing, and nothing still matters.
[27:46] SPEAKER_01: No.
[27:47] SPEAKER_01: These, okay, so these books are crazy.
[27:49] SPEAKER_01: The first one is labeled as a YA, and it kind of is it's an aggressive.
[27:55] SPEAKER_01: It's a real aggressive YA.
[27:57] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[27:57] SPEAKER_01: And I don't mean that in spice level.
[28:00] SPEAKER_01: I mean like trauma.
[28:02] SPEAKER_01: Holy shit, did they go through it?
[28:04] SPEAKER_00: If you live a very normal, sheltered, happy life growing up and you read this book, you should probably look into therapy because it's gonna fuck your shit up.
[28:14] SPEAKER_01: Oh man, it yeah, it's gonna wreck your lips.
[28:17] SPEAKER_00: And if you are on the opposite end of that and you grew up with not rainbows and sugar pumps, this is gonna reawaken things in your brain that you wish slept forever.
[28:27] SPEAKER_01: Because holy fuck.
[28:29] SPEAKER_01: And you're gonna feel really freaking good about it.
[28:31] SPEAKER_00: You know what?
[28:32] SPEAKER_00: You're gonna feel away.
[28:34] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if good was the word I would choose.
[28:36] SPEAKER_01: My eyes were puffy from crying for two days.
[28:41] SPEAKER_00: I remember finishing the first book.
[28:44] SPEAKER_00: I was on my break at work.
[28:46] unknown: Oh my god.
[28:47] SPEAKER_00: And I was sitting this I was sitting in a quiet room at work.
[28:50] SPEAKER_00: No and I finished reading this first book on my break.
[28:53] SPEAKER_00: I think I had like 10 minutes left in my break, and I was like, I'll just power through it.
[28:56] SPEAKER_00: Distraught.
[28:57] SPEAKER_00: You're dumb.
[28:58] SPEAKER_00: Distraught.
[28:59] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're you're dumb.
[29:01] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[29:01] SPEAKER_01: I was crying so hard, I was choking.
[29:03] SPEAKER_01: I had to change my shirt because I cried and I got my shirt so wet from my tears that I was like, I am wet and uncomfortable.
[29:13] SPEAKER_00: And this is just book one we're talking about.
[29:15] SPEAKER_00: The entire series is like this.
[29:17] SPEAKER_01: Oh, Gibsy, man, I need to know the rest of Gibsy's story.
[29:20] SPEAKER_01: So basically, okay, so the reason why these are so good.
[29:25] SPEAKER_01: Number one, Chloe Walsh does not really do any sort of promotion.
[29:30] SPEAKER_01: She has an assistant who manages her um Instagram, like her socials.
[29:35] SPEAKER_01: She'll just post like quotes from the books.
[29:38] SPEAKER_01: Like, she doesn't do anything to sell these.
[29:40] SPEAKER_01: She's like, if you like them, cool.
[29:41] SPEAKER_01: If you don't, idiot.
[29:43] SPEAKER_01: Basically.
[29:44] SPEAKER_01: And they are like, I had these on my TBR and kept taking them off because they're a YA.
[29:50] SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I just don't know if I want to read a YA.
[29:53] SPEAKER_01: And I looked it up one day and the first book.
[29:56] SPEAKER_01: So we started these actually last year, but they get the series of the year because we kind of continued the series.
[30:02] SPEAKER_01: Um, but I finally was like, okay, I'm just gonna read it because I think one of the books has like a 4.8 rating.
[30:10] SPEAKER_01: Like it's like one of the highest-rated books and it makes sense on good reading, which it makes sense, checks out.
[30:17] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[30:17] SPEAKER_01: And the people who gave it the bad ratings are the people who couldn't deal with the trauma.
[30:21] SPEAKER_00: Like that's that's what it is.
[30:22] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, mom still wipes their butt.
[30:24] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[30:25] SPEAKER_01: And I remember I was like, okay, well, let's just try her out.
[30:29] SPEAKER_01: And basically, each duology of these books, like, I think they're supposed to be 12 or 13 by the time it's all said and done.
[30:37] SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
[30:38] SPEAKER_01: We're at, I think, six so far.
[30:41] SPEAKER_01: They follow this group of friends, and each two books kind of follow the relationship of a pair.
[30:51] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[30:52] SPEAKER_01: And they follow the relationship, but they also really dive into that person's life and everything bad that has ever happened to them.
[31:02] SPEAKER_01: Ever.
[31:02] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[31:03] SPEAKER_01: And everything bad that will continue to happen.
[31:05] SPEAKER_01: And there's a lot of bad stuff happening to these kids, okay?
[31:09] SPEAKER_01: Like their life is really shitty.
[31:12] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[31:12] SPEAKER_01: Like you thought your life was hard.
[31:14] SPEAKER_01: Oh, you should read these books.
[31:15] SPEAKER_01: Read these books and tell them how hard your life is.
[31:18] SPEAKER_01: Like it is just, but again, she also she writes it in such a way where you're not like, oh, that's fake.
[31:25] SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're just here for the tears.
[31:26] SPEAKER_00: You feel like you're part of the friend group and you are gutted.
[31:30] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[31:30] SPEAKER_00: And every day along that day, and you're just sad and depressed.
[31:33] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[31:34] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[31:34] SPEAKER_01: Five stars.
[31:35] SPEAKER_01: Five stars.
[31:36] SPEAKER_01: And oh my god, like Gibsy, my absolute favorite character.
[31:40] SPEAKER_01: They did the first book of his thing.
[31:44] SPEAKER_01: And we just kind of got left on a cliffhanger, and I haven't heard anything else.
[31:49] SPEAKER_01: But the crazy thing about Chloe Walsh, because she doesn't really promote, you'll just randomly be looking on like that.
[31:58] SPEAKER_01: Well, this is how I found out about this book.
[31:59] SPEAKER_01: I was looking on Indigo, which is our Canadian like bookseller.
[32:03] SPEAKER_01: And they were just advertising, like, oh, pre-order the next book.
[32:06] SPEAKER_01: And I was like, um, Exqueze Me?
[32:09] SPEAKER_01: What did you say?
[32:10] SPEAKER_01: Next book.
[32:10] SPEAKER_01: And it's like, yeah, it's coming out in like three weeks.
[32:13] SPEAKER_01: Like, she didn't post anything, nobody else is talking about it.
[32:17] SPEAKER_00: She randomly, she's like, if you want to read it, here it is.
[32:20] SPEAKER_00: Because it's one of those series that speaks for itself.
[32:22] SPEAKER_00: She doesn't need to.
[32:22] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[32:23] SPEAKER_00: This read it.
[32:24] SPEAKER_00: Oh, doesn't it?
[32:25] SPEAKER_01: It's so good.
[32:26] SPEAKER_01: It's so good.
[32:27] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[32:28] SPEAKER_01: And then we kind of have our honorable mentions for audiobooks.
[32:34] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[32:34] SPEAKER_00: Which I listened to quite a few this year.
[32:38] SPEAKER_00: Me too.
[32:38] SPEAKER_00: But I also didn't like a lot of if I've read the book, okay.
[32:42] SPEAKER_00: Now I'm gonna listen to it.
[32:43] SPEAKER_00: I typically go in that order.
[32:46] SPEAKER_01: It's you know what?
[32:47] SPEAKER_01: And I find like audiobooks, that's a really hard one because it's really narrators that make like lights out.
[32:55] SPEAKER_00: I could read the worst book in the world, but if it's narrated by Joe Arden or Teddy Hamilton or Jacob Morgan.
[33:01] SPEAKER_01: Corvin King, like it's scripture to me at this point.
[33:04] SPEAKER_01: Like and that's that's kind of it.
[33:06] SPEAKER_01: It's like Lights Out is such an incredible book, you know, being in my opinion, one of the best like audiobooks of all time.
[33:14] SPEAKER_01: But is it that incredible because of the performance that Joe there that Jacob Morgan delivered?
[33:21] SPEAKER_01: It's the performance 100%.
[33:23] SPEAKER_01: Like it is funny, but holy cow, does he make it really good?
[33:26] SPEAKER_00: But that's just it.
[33:27] SPEAKER_00: Because if you've read the book and you've listened to it, you know that the book is it's good.
[33:31] SPEAKER_00: It's good.
[33:32] SPEAKER_01: That audio book is great.
[33:35] SPEAKER_01: Well, because I went down a road with Jacob Morgan for a while, and he has done almost exclusively, like under the name Jacob Morgan, because he also has the Zachary Weber.
[33:46] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[33:46] SPEAKER_01: But he has done almost exclusively romantic comedy books, like minimal spice, like off-page spice, but they're like very slapstick romantic comedy, and I think that's why he nailed Lights out so well, is because it kind of fits into his age.
[34:01] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
[34:03] SPEAKER_00: So our favorite audiobooks Brimstone, oh yes, Anthony Palmini.
[34:11] SPEAKER_00: Aside from the fact that he can't say library or birthday.
[34:16] SPEAKER_00: Other than that, he can do no wrong.
[34:18] SPEAKER_01: Because is he from New Jersey?
[34:20] SPEAKER_00: He's Reese in the dramatized version of Avatar, and he says library.
[34:25] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's a few words.
[34:27] SPEAKER_00: Birthday multiple times.
[34:29] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[34:29] SPEAKER_00: And if you're as autistic as I am, then that's gonna ruin your whole fucking week.
[34:34] SPEAKER_01: Other than that, Brimstone's oh, he is so good.
[34:38] SPEAKER_01: Especially too, you could tell at the beginning of Brimstone, it took him a while to find the voice again, which I didn't think that that would be a thing, but they're doing voices.
[34:48] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[34:48] SPEAKER_01: So of course that would be a thing.
[34:50] SPEAKER_01: How would you remember what the hell you sounded like?
[34:53] SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that was oh incredible.
[34:56] SPEAKER_00: Ghosted.
[34:56] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[34:57] SPEAKER_00: I don't think I've ever talked to anybody else who's read or listened to this book.
[35:01] SPEAKER_01: I want to find out what happened to JM Darhauer, and I want it to just be that she got bored of being an author.
[35:11] SPEAKER_01: I think it is because I saw that she, like, okay, so I get into this weird.
[35:19] SPEAKER_01: This is like my autistic thing, is I want to be an author's best friend and I want to understand everything about you.
[35:28] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[35:28] SPEAKER_01: So if you haven't been posting stuff on social media, I'm like, why?
[35:32] SPEAKER_01: What happened?
[35:32] SPEAKER_01: And I'm instantly worried, like as if we're friends, like, did you die?
[35:36] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[35:36] SPEAKER_01: Are you already?
[35:37] SPEAKER_00: You're making up like the worst possible scenario in your brain.
[35:40] SPEAKER_01: Well, it happened with S.
[35:41] SPEAKER_01: T.
[35:41] SPEAKER_01: Abbey, okay?
[35:42] SPEAKER_01: So it's it's happened to me before.
[35:44] SPEAKER_01: That's true.
[35:44] SPEAKER_01: And JM Darhauer, I think this is how we found her, was from this audiobook.
[35:50] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[35:51] SPEAKER_01: Ghosted.
[35:52] SPEAKER_01: Because she's also done Menace.
[35:54] SPEAKER_01: She's also done like I've read a few of her books, like Monster in the Scars or something, or Monster and Blood, something, some of those words mixed together.
[36:02] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[36:02] SPEAKER_01: And her shit is good.
[36:05] SPEAKER_01: But she hasn't done anything for like five years.
[36:07] SPEAKER_01: So it's like, did you just get bored with doing this?
[36:11] SPEAKER_01: But I was recently snooping on her Instagram.
[36:16] SPEAKER_01: Snooping, it sounds better.
[36:18] SPEAKER_01: And she hasn't posted anything in years, but she had something that she had like reposted or commented.
[36:25] SPEAKER_01: So I was like, okay, so you're still here.
[36:27] SPEAKER_01: You're still girl, where are you at?
[36:29] SPEAKER_01: You want to write me another book?
[36:30] SPEAKER_01: Like, just just tell me if you're okay.
[36:32] SPEAKER_01: Same with like uh Kennedy Ravenwood or Raven.
[36:37] SPEAKER_01: What is it?
[36:38] SPEAKER_00: How am I saying?
[36:38] SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
[36:39] SPEAKER_00: I want to hear how you're gonna make Raven Kennedy Wood?
[36:42] SPEAKER_00: Kennedy Ravenwood?
[36:44] SPEAKER_00: Raven Kenwood.
[36:46] SPEAKER_00: What the hell is her name?
[36:48] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna let you figure this one out.
[36:49] SPEAKER_00: I want to see it.
[36:52] SPEAKER_01: Kennedy Wood?
[36:53] SPEAKER_01: No, these are none of these are right.
[36:56] SPEAKER_01: But also, where the hell is she?
[36:57] SPEAKER_01: Because I really need to hear from that girl.
[36:59] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[37:00] SPEAKER_01: But yes, ghosted.
[37:01] SPEAKER_01: Is that a Jacob Morgan book?
[37:04] SPEAKER_01: I believe it is Jacob Morgan.
[37:07] SPEAKER_01: That's why it is so good.
[37:09] SPEAKER_01: And that one, oh my god, it's Joe Arden.
[37:12] SPEAKER_00: Oh, it is Joe Arden.
[37:13] SPEAKER_00: And Maxine Mitchell, which those two do a lot of audiobooks together, and well, and they kill it every time.
[37:21] SPEAKER_01: The other thing with this book that is like just gets in my goat, is that he's like a famous actor who kind of like abandoned his like high school sweetheart and their child, and he like gets his life together to like win her back.
[37:40] SPEAKER_01: And then now she's a millionaire, and it just like uh isn't that just what you want?
[37:46] SPEAKER_01: Yes, like the money, the like uh love it.
[37:49] SPEAKER_00: I just love like a second chance romance.
[37:52] SPEAKER_00: Like I think that might be like my trope of the year, right?
[37:56] SPEAKER_00: If I had to pick one, I just you would pick second chance romance.
[38:01] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if it's written well, I love it.
[38:03] SPEAKER_01: Well, I would also pick second chance romance, but I always wanted to have that the like surprise pregnancy.
[38:08] SPEAKER_01: Surprise pregnancy, yeah.
[38:10] SPEAKER_01: No, get that out of your way.
[38:12] SPEAKER_01: We didn't love each other, but also now there's a baby.
[38:15] SPEAKER_01: Actually, okay surprise.
[38:16] SPEAKER_01: I read somewhere, somebody was talking about why they don't like surprise pregnancies, and they're like, Because then he's only with me for the baby.
[38:24] SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Why are you wrecking my happiness?
[38:29] SPEAKER_01: I mean, it makes sense.
[38:30] SPEAKER_01: I want so little in life.
[38:32] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you picked it picked in dire bound.
[38:38] SPEAKER_01: I have not actually read or listened to Direbound.
[38:41] SPEAKER_00: Well, I won't I won't talk about it too much if it's on the list.
[38:45] SPEAKER_00: It was very much fourth wing but with wolves.
[38:51] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[38:52] SPEAKER_00: And I enjoy fourth wing.
[38:55] SPEAKER_00: I don't obsess over it.
[38:57] SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
[39:00] SPEAKER_00: But this book was so fucking good.
[39:04] SPEAKER_00: I only listened to it though, to be fair.
[39:05] SPEAKER_00: I only I haven't read it yet.
[39:07] SPEAKER_00: I did only listen to it.
[39:08] SPEAKER_00: I have but I listened to it in one sitting.
[39:12] SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
[39:13] SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
[39:14] SPEAKER_00: Front and center then.
[39:15] SPEAKER_00: So I'll leave it at that.
[39:17] SPEAKER_00: I don't want to spoil too much of it for you.
[39:19] SPEAKER_00: It's so fun.
[39:20] SPEAKER_01: There's trials, there's wolves about wolf books.
[39:23] SPEAKER_00: But they're not weird people wolves.
[39:26] SPEAKER_00: They're not transform, they're wolves.
[39:28] SPEAKER_00: And they can communicate with their minds, so they're not ever changing to a human form.
[39:32] SPEAKER_00: There's nothing weird, there's no beast utility aspect to it.
[39:34] SPEAKER_00: There's no nodding, right?
[39:36] SPEAKER_00: There's no imprinting on infants.
[39:39] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[39:40] SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
[39:41] SPEAKER_00: It's just dire wolves in the purest form.
[39:44] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[39:44] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[39:45] SPEAKER_01: It's on the list.
[39:46] SPEAKER_01: It's on the list.
[39:46] SPEAKER_01: So we'll see.
[39:47] SPEAKER_00: If you're worried about like the gross animal changing aspect of it, which I know you would be, I would never recommend it to you if that was happening.
[39:56] SPEAKER_00: I'm always worried.
[39:58] SPEAKER_00: I know.
[39:58] SPEAKER_00: I know you are.
[40:00] SPEAKER_01: Hey man, you gotta be vigilant, okay?
[40:02] SPEAKER_01: Because otherwise you find yourself in a weird situation.
[40:04] SPEAKER_01: You know what you're like, what am I reading?
[40:07] SPEAKER_00: Why am I reading I don't want to read about nodding ever again?
[40:10] SPEAKER_00: It I feel that's your I'm not gonna, you know, yuck your yum, but like nodding, animals do that.
[40:16] SPEAKER_01: I know, and that's why real animals, and that's why it freaks me out.
[40:21] SPEAKER_01: Is because it seems like maybe someone should look into your search history.
[40:25] SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, they should.
[40:26] SPEAKER_01: Check your hard drives, straight to jail.
[40:29] SPEAKER_01: Somebody look into your search history.
[40:32] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so then we also have Scythe and Sparrow, which again, another Bruin Will.
[40:37] SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're Brin's number one fangirls, and I just I want her to notice me.
[40:43] SPEAKER_00: Yes, and just give me like a little just tell me like a finger gun and a wink.
[40:47] SPEAKER_00: Yes, and that's it.
[40:49] SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm asking for.
[40:50] SPEAKER_00: Just send me a deep just send me a clipping of your hair.
[40:54] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[40:55] SPEAKER_00: So I can put it in a frame.
[40:57] SPEAKER_01: And just pet it.
[40:58] SPEAKER_00: Put it under my pillow.
[41:00] SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
[41:01] SPEAKER_01: Brynn, I'm okay without that.
[41:03] SPEAKER_01: I'm okay just you knowing that we love you.
[41:07] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[41:07] SPEAKER_01: That that you're doing good things and that we want you to continue doing that.
[41:10] SPEAKER_00: Faith and Sparrow, 10 out of 10.
[41:12] SPEAKER_00: Honestly, the whole trilogy is phenomenal.
[41:14] SPEAKER_00: So good.
[41:15] SPEAKER_00: And it just I feel like it just gets better each book.
[41:17] SPEAKER_00: You find that you don't like it more than the last one, but you like it differently than the last one on the same level.
[41:23] SPEAKER_01: Because they're all different, but they're also like she did a really good job with these because they're serial killers, but I don't I I align with them.
[41:34] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[41:34] SPEAKER_01: I feel like those people should have been killed.
[41:37] SPEAKER_01: And I don't know if that's something that I feel all the time.
[41:40] SPEAKER_01: Like, I know I joke about it, but a lot of times I'm like, I don't know, uh, killing people might be fucking bad.
[41:46] SPEAKER_01: But in this one, but they deserve it.
[41:48] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[41:49] SPEAKER_01: And we have like Carney aspect, and we have Barbara.
[41:54] SPEAKER_01: Funny.
[41:54] SPEAKER_01: I know.
[41:55] SPEAKER_01: I wish that I had a trash panda as a pet.
[41:57] SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, you know, it it's really good.
[42:00] SPEAKER_01: I love this book.
[42:01] SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I selected, I picked Grim by DJ Kimmer and Joe Arden.
[42:07] SPEAKER_00: So I'm actually I listened to this on my way out here today.
[42:10] SPEAKER_00: I still have like three hours of it left.
[42:12] SPEAKER_01: Okay, what do you think?
[42:13] SPEAKER_00: But I love it.
[42:14] SPEAKER_01: Have you been just because D uh character?
[42:19] SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
[42:20] SPEAKER_00: The boss of hell.
[42:22] SPEAKER_00: Okay, have you, I mean, I'm sure you've seen it.
[42:24] SPEAKER_00: You know, in The Office when D'Angelo is introduced and it's Will Farrell.
[42:30] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[42:30] SPEAKER_00: That's how I picture this character.
[42:31] SPEAKER_00: But Big D, yeah.
[42:32] SPEAKER_00: Big D.
[42:34] SPEAKER_00: And he's got his like 100% on.
[42:39] SPEAKER_01: That's Big D.
[42:40] SPEAKER_01: It just they do such a great job.
[42:44] SPEAKER_01: Like, so I I am very curious.
[42:46] SPEAKER_01: Like, one day I would really like to meet Joe Arden, and I just want to ask him a lot of questions about this book.
[42:54] SPEAKER_01: Is like, how did this idea come about?
[42:57] SPEAKER_01: Did you write this book because you had the idea and you're like, I needed to get it out?
[43:03] SPEAKER_01: Like, because it it has elements that are similar to other books, but it's also not like anything else.
[43:10] SPEAKER_01: Like, we have our main female main character, and she's got a heart condition, and bitch gonna die.
[43:15] SPEAKER_01: And she go die.
[43:17] SPEAKER_01: She does die, and Grim saves her because it's not yet her time, and he buys her what, like a week?
[43:25] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like nine days or something.
[43:26] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like a week and a half.
[43:27] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[43:28] SPEAKER_01: And his boss, Big D, is like, yo, you go watch this girl.
[43:33] SPEAKER_01: Like, people do not do well with like near death, like coming back like she was essentially dead.
[43:40] SPEAKER_01: Because now she can also, like, she has like little powers and stuff.
[43:43] SPEAKER_01: She also knows when she's gonna die for real.
[43:46] SPEAKER_01: Yes.
[43:47] SPEAKER_01: Which I had like this book gave me existential crises.
[43:52] SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what?
[43:53] SPEAKER_01: It they did a really good job.
[43:55] SPEAKER_00: It was really so far.
[43:57] SPEAKER_00: Yes, don't know how to end it.
[43:58] SPEAKER_01: No, trust, you'll you'll love.
[44:00] SPEAKER_01: It's really, really good.
[44:01] SPEAKER_01: Thoroughly enjoying it.
[44:02] SPEAKER_01: And the other book that I put like through a little shouty out to again, this is an oldie but a goody, is Pestilence by Lauren the Lasser.
[44:11] SPEAKER_01: I listen to the graphic audio version.
[44:14] SPEAKER_01: And so sometimes me and graphic audio get along really well, and sometimes we do not.
[44:20] SPEAKER_01: I listened to one of the Zodiac Academy books in graphic audio.
[44:23] SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was your first mistake.
[44:24] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[44:25] SPEAKER_01: And there was like, because there's so much happening in that book.
[44:29] SPEAKER_01: There was constantly sound going on.
[44:32] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[44:33] SPEAKER_01: Because there's unicorns and there's fairies and there's this and there's so it was like, it was overwhelming.
[44:40] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[44:40] SPEAKER_01: Like I was like, I'm afraid.
[44:42] SPEAKER_01: I too much is happening.
[44:43] SPEAKER_01: Like I I don't like this.
[44:48] SPEAKER_00: That's what it was.
[44:48] SPEAKER_00: And you just don't want to like rip your headphones out and like scream.
[44:52] SPEAKER_01: Like they do such a good job, but that I just don't know if that's the book for graphic audio.
[44:57] SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking it's not.
[44:59] SPEAKER_01: Um, so I was like, okay, let's go back in, let's read this one.
[45:03] SPEAKER_01: And I kind of like, I love a four horsemen story.
[45:06] SPEAKER_01: Like I love the backstory to it, and so that's essentially what this is.
[45:10] SPEAKER_01: And Lauren Thalasser, she did the Bewitched the YA series, which I've kind of I've put it on my list and I've taken it off my list.
[45:19] SPEAKER_01: And then I saw someone recently say that it's not YA.
[45:22] SPEAKER_01: So you know what?
[45:23] SPEAKER_01: Come back to me, I'm gonna read that.
[45:26] SPEAKER_01: It's back on the list.
[45:27] SPEAKER_01: Um, but she did Rhapsodic, which is fucking incredible.
[45:31] SPEAKER_00: It's amazing.
[45:32] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it is so underrated, and it's almost always available if you have Everlevel Plus, yes, it's it's on that free.
[45:41] SPEAKER_01: I see it a lot of times.
[45:42] SPEAKER_01: The library is offering it for free.
[45:44] SPEAKER_01: Just free.
[45:45] SPEAKER_01: Like, Matt, just go and read it, like whatever.
[45:48] SPEAKER_01: It needs more hype.
[45:50] SPEAKER_01: Like so good.
[45:51] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it is so good.
[45:53] SPEAKER_01: And so I was like, okay, you know what?
[45:54] SPEAKER_01: Let's give this a try.
[45:56] SPEAKER_01: And essentially what has happened is this is like after the world has ended, and normally I'm not.
[46:01] SPEAKER_01: I I realized I don't think I really like dystopian books.
[46:05] SPEAKER_00: Okay, see, I am gonna be the complete opposite though.
[46:08] SPEAKER_00: Really?
[46:08] SPEAKER_00: I was actually having this conversation with somebody the other day.
[46:10] SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like I would thrive in a post-apocalyptic world.
[46:15] SPEAKER_01: I don't even like tap water.
[46:17] SPEAKER_00: No, I don't be drinking bodily fluids from no okay.
[46:22] SPEAKER_01: Well, I have an actually, oh well that I would do it.
[46:26] SPEAKER_01: I mean, I have a book that I need to recommend to you because I just read one, and I think the only reason why I didn't like it was because it was this dystopia, and I was like, I need like the book was really well written, it was like great, but I just I think I hate that kind of thing.
[46:45] SPEAKER_01: And this felt like kind of like Hunger Games dystopia, but like super, super dark, like these women are slaves and they're like sold to other people.
[46:53] SPEAKER_01: Okay, and I was like, who would enjoy this book?
[46:55] SPEAKER_01: Me, you, okay.
[46:57] SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, so this one has the like dystopia, or what how am I saying this word?
[47:02] SPEAKER_01: Dystopian?
[47:03] SPEAKER_01: Dystopian, right?
[47:04] SPEAKER_01: I'm saying the right word.
[47:05] SPEAKER_01: You got it.
[47:06] SPEAKER_01: Um and but like the it the world has ended essentially because the four horsemen have arrived.
[47:13] SPEAKER_01: Nice.
[47:14] SPEAKER_01: They came to the world, they fucked everything up, they killed like pretty much everybody, and then they kind of like disappeared.
[47:21] SPEAKER_01: And every now and then they pop up, and you don't know which one's gonna pop up and where he's gonna pop up.
[47:26] SPEAKER_01: And you just like hear about on the radio.
[47:28] SPEAKER_01: They're like, Yo, pestilence is like coming through.
[47:32] SPEAKER_01: And basically, this girl like signs herself up and she's like, I'm gonna take him out.
[47:36] SPEAKER_01: I got you guys, and she goes to like injure him.
[47:42] SPEAKER_01: I think she herself gets injured or she saves him.
[47:44] SPEAKER_01: I can't remember, it was earlier this year, and he's like, Guess who's my bitch now?
[47:50] SPEAKER_01: You and he takes her also.
[47:52] SPEAKER_01: I think a lot of the the like places that it was like written was like Canada.
[47:56] SPEAKER_01: So I was like, I've been there.
[47:59] SPEAKER_01: So there's always pretty much if it sounds like I've been there, I'm like, best book I've ever read.
[48:05] SPEAKER_01: I know it's relatable.
[48:07] SPEAKER_01: You went through Jasper, Me Too, Bay, like you know, I just love it.
[48:12] SPEAKER_01: Um, but it was honestly, she can do no wrong.
[48:15] SPEAKER_01: And I think I'm I want to continue because uh graphic audio did the entire series, so I need to listen to the nearest.
[48:23] SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to get on it then.
[48:26] SPEAKER_01: But that's it.
[48:27] SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
[48:28] SPEAKER_01: That's our list.
[48:29] SPEAKER_00: That's a solid list.
[48:30] SPEAKER_00: That's a solid list.
[48:31] SPEAKER_01: I need to go back and reread all the time.
[48:33] SPEAKER_00: So do I, yeah, so do I.
[48:34] SPEAKER_00: I also can't wait to hear what everybody else's lists are, and I can't wait to start seeing because I know people are gonna start posting their like uh wrapped and their good reads, and you know what?
[48:46] SPEAKER_00: I want to hear what other people thought.
[48:48] SPEAKER_01: Love that because the thing is too, and I know that everybody says that, but like it is true, it really does not matter.
[48:56] SPEAKER_01: Like, you don't have to be insane like us and read this many books.
[49:01] SPEAKER_01: I don't have anything else in my life, like understandable.
[49:08] SPEAKER_01: This is the only joy that I find.
[49:10] SPEAKER_01: This is not a cry for help, I promise.
[49:13] SPEAKER_01: Maybe it is a help for more books.
[49:15] SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, like this for a lot of people, they're like, I don't even understand.
[49:19] SPEAKER_01: It's like, number one, I just I really don't have a lot else that I do.
[49:24] SPEAKER_01: I just love my time.
[49:26] SPEAKER_01: I love the escape.
[49:27] SPEAKER_01: I don't sleep a lot.
[49:29] SPEAKER_01: Same.
[49:29] SPEAKER_01: I you know, and and also you need to understand, like, we don't really watch TV.
[49:33] SPEAKER_01: So when you don't watch TV, you gotta kill your time in other ways.
[49:37] SPEAKER_01: That's right, you know, and you just you start like pretty much like you just keep chasing the high.
[49:43] SPEAKER_01: It is an addiction.
[49:44] SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, but even if you read one book this year, tell me what book it was.
[49:48] SPEAKER_01: How do you?
[49:49] SPEAKER_01: Because I want to read that book.
[49:50] SPEAKER_01: Because I want to read it, but also if you've read any of these books, please.
[49:53] SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, discuss with us.
[49:55] SPEAKER_01: Like I yeah, I love hearing other people's opinions and viewpoints.
[49:58] SPEAKER_00: I do too, unless they're telling me that a shadow in the reaping is bad, then you can fuck off.
[50:06] SPEAKER_00: Then guess what's gonna happen to you?
[50:07] SPEAKER_01: You go in the box.
[50:09] SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're gonna go in the box.
[50:11] SPEAKER_01: One or the other.
[50:12] SPEAKER_01: You know what?
[50:13] SPEAKER_00: We'll just roll a dice and figure it out.
[50:15] SPEAKER_01: And I looked it up.
[50:16] SPEAKER_01: It's Raven Wood.
[50:17] SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
[50:18] SPEAKER_00: I don't know why that was so hard.
[50:20] SPEAKER_00: It's two words or one.
[50:21] SPEAKER_00: You got there.
[50:22] SPEAKER_00: Right?
[50:23] SPEAKER_01: I did it.
[50:23] SPEAKER_01: Raven Wood, where you at, girl?
[50:25] SPEAKER_01: Are you putting out any more books?
[50:27] SPEAKER_01: Because I didn't see any books in 2025.
[50:29] SPEAKER_01: So a little bit worried, just kind of wondering.
[50:32] SPEAKER_01: Did you die?
[50:33] SPEAKER_01: Right?
[50:34] SPEAKER_01: And if you did, can someone else just post as her and just lie to me?
[50:37] SPEAKER_01: Just come for me, hold me tight.
[50:39] SPEAKER_01: I'll do it for you.
