[0:09] SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, today you've got just Charlie.
[0:14] SPEAKER_00: And today I'm going to be completing the coverage of the Cat and Mouse Duet by HD Carlton.
[0:19] SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to be covering some movie and new release news as well as a brief review of Satan's Affair, Where's Molly, and Phantom.
[0:27] SPEAKER_00: Alright, straight into the fire.
[0:29] SPEAKER_00: Spoilers ahead.
[0:30] SPEAKER_00: First off, the news.
[0:32] SPEAKER_00: HD announced that a few weeks ago, Hunting Adeline is being made into a movie.
[0:38] SPEAKER_00: Okay, now HD has explained that she is going to be heavily involved in this process.
[0:43] SPEAKER_00: It is not going to be a watered-down version of the book.
[0:46] SPEAKER_00: It is going to be true to her vision.
[0:49] SPEAKER_00: And filming is supposed to start October 2026.
[0:54] SPEAKER_00: And if that was not enough, there is going to be an open casting for the character of Sibi.
[1:01] SPEAKER_00: Now I think the entire internet can agree who we think is going to be the perfect Sibby, Hawk.
[1:07] SPEAKER_00: Come on, we know it.
[1:09] SPEAKER_00: And if that wasn't enough for us, HD has also announced that a graphic novel is in the works, being published by Deviant Inc.
[1:17] SPEAKER_00: This is expected to hit comic book stores early 2027.
[1:22] SPEAKER_00: You can go to their website to sign up for pre-orders and more info.
[1:26] SPEAKER_00: And this is the same company that did the coloring book for Under Your Scars, and it was incredible.
[1:33] SPEAKER_00: So I know they're just going to blow it out of the water.
[1:36] SPEAKER_00: Okay, now on to our cat and mouse novellas, offshoots.
[1:41] SPEAKER_00: Um, these are just gonna be very quick overviews.
[1:45] SPEAKER_00: We just want to tell you a little bit about them, and by we, I mean me, because I'm missing my partner.
[1:50] SPEAKER_00: Um, but we also don't want to take away your joy of reading these books.
[1:56] SPEAKER_00: So go give them a read, give them a listen.
[1:59] SPEAKER_00: These are absolutely fabulous.
[2:01] SPEAKER_00: First up is Satan's Affair.
[2:03] SPEAKER_00: This is Sibby's story.
[2:04] SPEAKER_00: This is detailing her time before haunting Adeline.
[2:08] SPEAKER_00: The audiobook is narrated by Michelle Sparks, and our MMCs are Christian Black.
[2:14] SPEAKER_00: This is actually the first book in the whole cat and mouse world, uh, the first one to be published.
[2:20] SPEAKER_00: Uh, it also jumps between the present time in Siby's life with Satan's Affair and her henchmen slicing and dicing bad men and her past, uh, spending her life with her loving mother and her controlling cult leader father, uh, who she eventually cuts the evil out of.
[2:38] SPEAKER_00: Big spoiler here, so plug your ears.
[2:41] SPEAKER_00: This book is even better after you read Haunting and Hunting Adeline because you realize that her henchmen aren't there.
[2:50] SPEAKER_00: Or are they?
[2:51] SPEAKER_00: Honestly, at this point, I really don't know.
[2:53] SPEAKER_00: Then we're gonna jump over to Phantom.
[2:56] SPEAKER_00: This one came out last, but in the sequence of events, it actually should go first.
[3:01] SPEAKER_00: This is Gigi's Love Story.
[3:02] SPEAKER_00: Gigi is in the Granny Diaries from Haunting Adeline.
[3:06] SPEAKER_00: This is set in the 1940s in Parsons Manor.
[3:09] SPEAKER_00: In the audiobook, Gigi is narrated by Summer Morton, and Ronaldo is narrated by Stephen Dexter.
[3:16] SPEAKER_00: This story follows Gigi, who is already married to some gambling loser, and she realizes that she has a stalker who she ends up falling in love with.
[3:24] SPEAKER_00: This story is a happy ending, even though haunting Adeline didn't have as good of an ending for Gigi.
[3:31] SPEAKER_00: I kind of wish that I knew that when I started reading it, because I almost had this anxiety waiting for something really bad to happen, and it never really came.
[3:42] SPEAKER_00: But it is a really beautiful story, it's really fun.
[3:45] SPEAKER_00: Again, do not rob yourself the joy of reading it.
[3:48] SPEAKER_00: Lastly, where's Molly?
[3:50] SPEAKER_00: I think of the three, this is my favorite of the like novellas offshoots from the cat and mouse duet.
[3:56] SPEAKER_00: This is narrated by Michelle Sparks and Sebastian York.
[4:00] SPEAKER_00: It is the story of Molly and Cage.
[4:02] SPEAKER_00: Molly is the author of our diary entries from Hunting Adeline.
[4:07] SPEAKER_00: Molly grew up in this horrible family.
[4:09] SPEAKER_00: Both parents were drug addicts.
[4:10] SPEAKER_00: They used her four-month-old sister, Layla, to keep Molly under their thumb.
[4:15] SPEAKER_00: And then eventually to sell off their drug debts, they end up selling Molly to human traffickers and one horrific one by the name of Francesca, which we know from Hunting Adeline.
[4:28] SPEAKER_00: Molly is the only person other than Addy to ever escape that house of horrors, whereas Molly follows her life following the escape, and she ends up tracking down her baby sister, Layla, giving her to a really good family who ends up loving and caring for her and giving her a really good life.
[4:44] SPEAKER_00: Finally, her parents get the just desserts.
[4:48] SPEAKER_00: The mother dies of an overdose, and Molly takes care of Papa.
[4:53] SPEAKER_00: She has since then joined the fight against evil.
[4:55] SPEAKER_00: She is a pig farmer who helps remove evidence.
[5:00] SPEAKER_00: And she has found herself a man, Cage, who sells electronics as a front, but he actually helps victims get a new identity and a new life behind the scenes.
[5:09] SPEAKER_00: Shocking revelation.
[5:10] SPEAKER_00: Cage is another favorite MMC of mine.
[5:14] SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I forgot how incredible he was until I read this book.
[5:18] SPEAKER_00: And now I'm just in love all over again.
[5:20] SPEAKER_00: Actually, HD just writes really good MMCs.
[5:24] SPEAKER_00: So if you haven't read or listened to this book, do it.
[5:26] SPEAKER_00: It is super quick, but it is so good.
[5:28] SPEAKER_00: Um, and at the very end, we get to see a little meet and greet between Addy and Zaid and Molly and Cage.
[5:35] SPEAKER_00: And Addy came to meet Molly to tell her thank you for leaving your journal there, that it helped save her life.
[5:39] SPEAKER_00: And Zaid asked Molly and Cage to work with him, which I hope that we see another crossover with these guys in the future.
[5:46] SPEAKER_00: Well, that wraps it up.
