## Transcript

[0:02] a listener production.
[0:05] I'm Bec Judd.
[0:06] And I'm Jess Roberts.
[0:07] And we're done with the smoke and mirrors.
[0:09] Fainish shares honest stories about what it takes to look amazing because we did not wake up like this.
[0:15] And you should know the stuff that we chat about on this podcast is based on our personal experiences.
[0:21] We're sharing it for your entertainment.
[0:23] It's definitely not medical advice.
[0:26] And we'll always be clear with you when something is a paid endorsement.
[0:29] Please always chat with your qualified healthcare team before making any decisions about your health.
[0:49] Hello, I'm Bec Judd.
[0:51] And I'm Jess Roberts.
[0:51] And welcome to Veinish.
[0:53] Welcome to Veinish.
[0:54] Got one of my faves in today.
[0:56] You do.
[0:57] Finally.
[0:58] The only thing that this girl talks about is plastic surgery.
[1:03] No, no, no, no, no.
[1:04] No, no, no, no, no.
[1:06] Beauty, wellness.
[1:08] Netball.
[1:09] Netball.
[1:10] Netball.
[1:10] And if you see an algorithm, it is just beauty, wellness.
[1:13] Netball.
[1:13] Netball.
[1:14] Netball.
[1:14] Netball.
[1:15] Netball.
[1:15] It is actually so funny.
[1:17] I love when the algorithm algorithms, because when I was coaching Billy, my daughter's team for so many years, and I was always so unprepared for training, I'd just jump on my For You page and there'd be all these netball drills for juniors.
[1:28] And I'd just get my phone out and go, girls, we're doing this drill.
[1:31] It was so good.
[1:33] And the coaches on the drills are like all ex-pro, so the drills are really good.
[1:37] Yeah.
[1:37] So, yeah, thank you, Instagram.
[1:39] Thank you, Netball.
[1:40] Anyway, we digress.
[1:42] We have one of my fave Netballers in the studio today, Jamie Lee Price.
[1:47] Welcome to Vayneesh.
[1:48] Thank you.
[1:48] I'm so excited to be here.
[1:50] And I love that Bec loves Netball because we love her.
[1:52] And you're our first Netballer.
[1:53] You're going to be our first of many.
[1:55] I know.
[1:56] But we thought let's just go in with our diamond, our Liz Ellis Award winner, which is like...
[2:03] That's like the brown knoll equivalent, right?
[2:05] Yes.
[2:05] And in NRL, it's the Dallium.
[2:08] Dallium medalist, yes.
[2:10] You are the best netballer in the country.
[2:13] For last year, for last year.
[2:15] Maybe.
[2:16] When's the awards for this year?
[2:18] Okay, it's always the day before Derby Day.
[2:22] Yeah.
[2:23] So how do you play that?
[2:24] Like, because last year you won and then I met you at Derby Day.
[2:28] Yes.
[2:28] And did you keep a lid on it the night before so you could have a bit of fun on Derby and have a drink and celebrate?
[2:34] Or did you just go out and then do Derby again because you're on holidays?
[2:38] Yeah, well, I feel like, yeah, that's kind of when we're checked out.
[2:41] Like once we've done the dinner, we're like, we're free for at least a month.
[2:45] Yeah.
[2:46] And I feel like Derby Day is like the day where the girls go out and we just have the best time.
[2:51] We get to dress up, you know, black and white.
[2:53] Yeah.
[2:54] And yeah, it's so much fun.
[2:55] But yeah, we had a decent night and then we had a big day, Derby Day.
[2:59] And we saw you there.
[2:59] That was fun.
[3:00] That was good.
[3:01] I was in the Crown Marquet.
[3:02] You didn't come to Derby, but you came to come.
[3:04] The Crown Marquet at Derby last year,
[3:06] By, it was about 4.35 o'clock, Ash on sax and Lily on cello.
[3:11] Oh, I know.
[3:12] Came out.
[3:13] It was a rave.
[3:14] It was a, we were meant to leave it.
[3:18] I think the driver was there at 5.30.
[3:20] At 7.30, I'm like, 10 more minutes.
[3:23] 10 more minutes.
[3:23] That's not like Beck.
[3:24] It was like that scene out of The Wolf of Wall Street where he's like, I'm not leaving.
[3:29] That was me.
[3:31] Also crawling to the car.
[3:33] And then I'm like, oh, God.
[3:35] I can't be that person who takes their shoes off, like drunk, like keep it together, walk into the car.
[3:40] Oh, God.
[3:41] Anyway, I kept it together and didn't lose my crown sponsorship and locked in for Dabby this year.
[3:46] Do it all again.
[3:48] Yes, yes.
[3:49] Anyway, you've had a busy month.
[3:51] Tell us what you've been up to.
[3:52] Yeah, literally just got fracked from Europe on Friday.
[3:56] So we've been at the Commonwealth Games, which is amazing.
[4:00] It was like such a rollercoaster of emotions.
[4:02] I feel like we came third and it's like the first time in the history that the Diamonds have ever come third.
[4:07] Like we've always ever come first or second.
[4:09] So I don't know, like obviously we're grateful that we got a medal and we got that bronze medal.
[4:15] But yeah, we were like really upset.
[4:16] And yeah, it was.
[4:18] It would be weird vibes like playing in that bronze medal match.
[4:22] When you've always been gold and silver.
[4:23] Gold and silver.
[4:24] But then to come out and play like you girls did and to just rewrite it and play amazing is still awesome.
[4:32] Oh, yeah, definitely.
[4:33] But, yeah, it is hard.
[4:34] It's so hard.
[4:35] It is hard because you are the best team.
[4:37] Yeah, but, like, you have such a huge expectation and, like, obviously being a diamond, like, there's such a strong history and, yeah, you've obviously got to ride the expectations as well.
[4:47] But then also acknowledging, like, how much –
[4:51] it's changed in the netball world internationally, like how essentially we're making all the countries better because of our league.
[4:58] So Jess has played about eight minutes of netball in her life at training against 10-year-olds.
[5:07] I was better than them all.
[5:08] You were really good.
[5:09] We needed some mums to play so we could just practice some.
[5:13] So that's a good friend.
[5:14] Telling me I was really good.
[5:15] So I said to all the mums, I'm like, chuck a bib on.
[5:18] We've got to get these girls to learn these kind of set players.
[5:21] And I said, Jess, your wing defence.
[5:23] Yes.
[5:23] Yes, wing defender.
[5:25] That's my girl.
[5:26] Wing defender.
[5:28] I love you in centre too.
[5:30] I love you in wing defender.
[5:31] I love centre too.
[5:31] But I said to Jess, look, this is hard to explain, but all you need to do, you're just going to play a tagging role.
[5:35] Just make sure the person that's got WA on it, just make sure she does not touch the ball.
[5:39] And she did not touch the ball.
[5:41] No, no, no.
[5:41] And you were so good.
[5:43] Like you were actually unreal.
[5:45] They were four foot.
[5:47] These kids are little.
[5:48] It doesn't matter.
[5:49] They're probably fast.
[5:50] Yeah, they're fast.
[5:51] Yes, they are.
[5:51] They are.
[5:52] They're fast.
[5:52] Those ring attacks are always fast.
[5:54] Zippy, zippy.
[5:55] Probably my own daughter, to be honest.
[5:57] She's good.
[5:57] She's good because I trained her.
[5:59] You trained her.
[6:00] Exactly, exactly, exactly.
[6:02] So what Jay was just referring to is our domestic Super Netball comp is the best in the world and we get the best players from all over the world come and play here.
[6:11] So it's not like AFL where it's mainly Australian to get some Irish imports, but
[6:17] Our domestic comp is you've got the best Jamaicans, the best New Zealand players, the best English players and so forth.
[6:25] So because they play here with us, we've made all of their national teams so much stronger.
[6:30] So now when the Dimes have to go and play all those teams, they're so good because we made them good.
[6:34] Can I just ask, which is good for the game.
[6:37] It really is good for the game.
[6:39] This might be a really dumb question, but where did netball come from?
[6:41] Like, did we start at it or like?
[6:43] England.
[6:43] England?
[6:44] Yeah.
[6:44] It's a Commonwealth sport.
[6:46] Yeah.
[6:46] When was it?
[6:46] How old is netball?
[6:47] Well, the World Cup's next year in Sydney.
[6:49] Yeah.
[6:50] And it's 100, so Netball Australia is celebrating 100 years.
[6:53] 100 years.
[6:53] There you go.
[6:56] Yeah.
[6:56] That's why it's played at the Commonwealth Games and not the Olympics yet.
[7:00] We're working on that.
[7:01] We are working on that.
[7:02] We're working on Brisbane.
[7:02] Brisbane.
[7:03] Yeah, leave me.
[7:03] We are.
[7:04] We are.
[7:05] You are.
[7:06] I'm working on it.
[7:06] She's part of the Liberal Party.
[7:09] Also the Netball Party.
[7:10] I don't know.
[7:10] She's a go-getter.
[7:12] She's a go-getter.
[7:14] So, Comm Games, everyone spoke about the dress.
[7:17] The dress fiasco.
[7:18] Oh, my God.
[7:18] Can I just say...
[7:20] I loved it.
[7:22] It was a very, very, very short dress.
[7:24] And you girls all have great butts.
[7:25] And I'm talking these girls have their best butts in the country.
[7:29] So if I had to look at Sophie Garbin's peachy butt one more time, I'd be a happy girl.
[7:34] Exactly.
[7:34] Like, no complaints from me.
[7:36] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[7:37] Exactly.
[7:38] I was looking at the...
[7:39] I showed you J's.
[7:40] Yeah.
[7:40] And I was like, hot...
[7:42] These are butts you want to look at.
[7:43] I was like, hey, if it gets more viewership, it's good for the game.
[7:47] 100%.
[7:47] All of a sudden, the male viewership rose 100%.
[7:51] Memberships were signed.
[7:53] Yeah, yeah.
[7:53] So I think maybe for Super Netball next year, we just take the dress, the hem up another five centimeters.
[7:59] Yeah, I agree.
[7:59] But that's part for me growing up as a netball.
[8:02] I always wanted the dress to be a little bit shorter, a little bit shorter, a little bit shorter.
[8:05] We're just making sparkly.
[8:06] Yeah, exactly.
[8:07] Yeah, yes.
[8:08] We'll just bejewel them.
[8:09] We're there.
[8:10] And do you know what?
[8:10] We'll bejewel them.
[8:11] Jagged.
[8:12] Yes.
[8:12] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[8:14] Oh, good.
[8:15] So good.
[8:16] So what I love about netball, I'm a girly girl, and I love that...
[8:22] particularly of late that it seems like the players are leaning into their feminine sides whilst being incredibly strong, very physical, talented athletes.
[8:32] Talk us through a normal, like a normal day for you, but then also how you go through a game day.
[8:39] What does that process look like?
[8:41] hair skin nails you're fit i know you've got an iconic hairdo just the dirty bun that i don't wash for a while i love it it's so good yeah no i feel like i feel like there's so much more to this being a netball and i love that like everyone's really diving into i guess the social side of things so i feel like netballers haven't really probably traditionally done that and um
[9:06] Yeah, I think there's just so many personalities in netball and you probably wouldn't know that, but we're trying really hard.
[9:12] But I think, yeah, I feel like you get so indulged in your netball world and I feel like you're just training, looking at footage, doing recovery and all that kind of stuff.
[9:21] But yeah, to be able to show the other side of things as well and we do love to fake tan.
[9:27] We do like our little makeup routines.
[9:29] And yeah, I feel like Cara Conan's probably got the best hair game, like her.
[9:33] Okay.
[9:34] ponytail is like... She got extensions?
[9:37] She doesn't.
[9:38] Hang on.
[9:39] That's all her hair.
[9:41] Well, they're all in their 20s.
[9:43] She's from Noosa, isn't she?
[9:44] Yeah.
[9:46] She's actually from Magnetic Island in Townsville.
[9:48] Ah, okay.
[9:50] They went, like, headed to Noosa, then now the diamonds.
[9:53] She's got the real...
[9:55] I can't believe that's her real pun.
[9:56] Yeah, it's real.
[9:57] That's iconic.
[9:57] It's the real deal.
[9:58] That's iconic.
[9:59] Jess and I got our keratin bond extensions put in last week.
[10:02] Love it.
[10:02] They look great, by the way.
[10:03] And then I had to go and play that night, and every time I moved my head, I whipped myself in the eyes, like with my horse tail.
[10:10] I blinded myself five times during the age of two.
[10:13] That's what she's doing next week.
[10:14] She's doing the bun.
[10:14] That's why you've got to go in a bun.
[10:16] I think I've got to.
[10:18] Maybe plaited or something.
[10:19] I don't know, but it was so sore.
[10:21] And then I actually thought, how does Cara do it?
[10:24] I don't know how she does it, but I just always, I suppose, go shoot or things, you know.
[10:30] Yeah.
[10:31] She's got to hold, jump, shoot.
[10:33] Yeah, she's not running around.
[10:34] Yeah, nice fenta.
[10:35] She's got a very good baseline drive.
[10:38] Yeah, no, exactly.
[10:39] Yeah, yeah.
[10:40] So,
[10:40] Talk to us about, I noticed, so the girls all get their spray tans before a game.
[10:45] What is the makeup routine?
[10:46] Because you guys are on live TV.
[10:48] You're playing in front of big crowds.
[10:51] Is this thing like you don't want to look too overdone?
[10:54] Like what's the line between...
[10:56] Like a little bit of glam or not?
[10:58] Do some people go completely bare?
[11:00] And who does the most?
[11:01] Like what do you do?
[11:02] I feel like it's like a makeup, no makeup look.
[11:04] But I feel like the most I do would be like a bit of BB cream or I don't know, CC cream.
[11:09] Apparently there's CC cream now.
[11:12] I love a highlighter.
[11:13] So like when the lights are flashing on you,
[11:15] Yeah, shine a bit of highlighter on the cheek.
[11:18] Bit of tubing mascara.
[11:20] Yeah.
[11:20] Because that doesn't sweat off.
[11:22] No, it doesn't.
[11:23] And like it's really easy to like get off.
[11:24] It's like when you're in the shower.
[11:26] Is that like waterproof mascara?
[11:27] No.
[11:28] No, it's the one that literally puts like a tube over each individual lash and you pull it off.
[11:33] Yeah, so when you're in the shower, it just like comes off.
[11:35] And when you're sweating, it doesn't run down your face.
[11:38] I don't find it runs off my face.
[11:39] Yeah.
[11:40] That's good.
[11:40] Okay.
[11:40] But I do find when I'm sweating, like, I get a towel and then I just see all the time, like, ah.
[11:45] Got to do the dab.
[11:46] Yeah.
[11:46] Dab, dab, dab.
[11:47] Dab, dab, dab.
[11:48] I know.
[11:48] Chewing mascara, bit of highlighter, spray tan.
[11:52] BB cream or CC cream.
[11:53] BB cream.
[11:54] Yeah.
[11:55] Yeah.
[11:55] That's probably as good as it gets for me, but... Mm-hmm.
[11:57] I don't know.
[11:57] I think most girls are quite similar.
[11:59] I don't think we overdo makeup too much because I think it just comes off.
[12:02] Your head's in the game.
[12:03] Literally.
[12:03] Yeah.
[12:04] Comes off.
[12:04] But I feel like tanning like just makes you feel so good.
[12:08] I feel like tan is like it's just.
[12:10] Tanning is honestly a beauty game changer.
[12:12] It is.
[12:12] It is.
[12:13] Life is better with the tan.
[12:14] Yeah.
[12:15] Yeah.
[12:15] I just feel like it's like a, I know when I put tan on my face, all my pigmentation just disappears.
[12:21] Literally.
[12:21] It just makes me look like I've got makeup on.
[12:23] And then a lash tint and an eyebrow tint.
[12:26] Oh, my God.
[12:26] I wake up tropo ready.
[12:28] I'm like ready for the day.
[12:29] Yeah.
[12:30] Honestly, a lash, I get a lash lift and I always get my brows tinted and it just like...
[12:36] I feel like when I don't, I look, not dead, but like I look like.
[12:39] You sound like Jess because you're the same colouring as Jess.
[12:42] We're fair.
[12:43] Actually, you guys are like exactly the same.
[12:46] I'm the same colouring as you, so my eyes.
[12:48] Even your roots are the same colour roots.
[12:50] The roots haven't been done in a while.
[12:52] I'd rather have I.
[12:54] We're all natural.
[12:55] We work up like this, guys.
[12:57] Literally.
[12:58] No, I do the same.
[12:59] I tint my eyebrows and eyelashes.
[13:01] And when I don't, I just don't look like me.
[13:03] Oh, my gosh.
[13:04] I just look washed out.
[13:05] Yes.
[13:05] It's crazy.
[13:06] Yeah.
[13:07] But you've got way better blue eyes than I do.
[13:10] Still those.
[13:10] So tell us from the diamonds, who is the Beck and Jess?
[13:17] Who loves the girly things?
[13:19] Who goes a little bit extra?
[13:20] Because if I was a doll, I would actually do a bit of a contour.
[13:23] I'd do a bit of a like a rose.
[13:24] Let's be honest, probably stick on a fake lash.
[13:26] Yeah, you should.
[13:27] Definitely overdraw my lips.
[13:28] You should even do a candy claws on her.
[13:30] I know.
[13:30] I love that.
[13:31] I love that.
[13:32] I'm making it extra.
[13:33] Extra, extra, extra short candy claws range for netballers.
[13:36] Yes, can you please?
[13:38] That's actually really good.
[13:39] Yeah, I just said that then.
[13:40] I will now.
[13:40] I have to do it now.
[13:41] Can you make sure that the umpires approve?
[13:44] Yes.
[13:45] Oh, we'll get them ticked off by the… And we'll do up your colours of your outfits.
[13:49] Yes, please.
[13:50] That would be amazing.
[13:51] That would be so good.
[13:52] Write it down, write it down.
[13:53] Yeah, I'm writing it down.
[13:54] We'll call them the netballers range.
[13:56] Yes.
[13:57] Netballers range.
[13:58] And that's lazy girl that you don't have to paint them.
[14:00] Just found our ambassador.
[14:01] Love that.
[14:02] Thank you, JLP.
[14:04] Okay, so that's game day.
[14:08] What does your routine look like when it comes to things now away from beauty?
[14:12] Exercise, mindset, supplements, like how do you...
[14:15] What's the overall wellness journey for you?
[14:18] I feel like, I don't know if it's all athletes, but I feel like I'm such a routine girl.
[14:23] I think it's been like maybe nearly two weeks post-com games and I like had to go for a run this morning.
[14:29] I was like, I'm feeling a bit like, I don't know, a bit gross.
[14:32] And like, you know, when you just get a bit moody and I don't know, you just rely, I personally rely so much on moving and you don't realize it until you stop and you're like, oh.
[14:41] Why do I feel so like, you know?
[14:43] Yeah.
[14:44] Yeah.
[14:44] So I feel like obviously doing physical activity as your job, as a netballer, is so important for me.
[14:51] I love like doing all the little things to make you feel good.
[14:54] So like a sauna.
[14:56] I don't love ice balls, but I'll do them.
[14:58] Do you?
[14:58] I hate them.
[14:59] Yeah, I don't love them.
[15:00] Too cold.
[15:01] I know.
[15:02] But you know...
[15:04] I actually hate the cold.
[15:06] Yeah, same.
[15:07] But I'm one of those people that doesn't go like to the shoulders.
[15:09] I'll just go like... Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[15:11] I go to the kneecaps.
[15:11] So I'm like, there's probably not much point in doing it.
[15:14] Love recovery boots.
[15:17] Oh.
[15:17] The like compression boots.
[15:18] Okay, you used those.
[15:19] Did you use those comm games?
[15:21] Because you ladies were playing like day after day after day after day.
[15:24] Yes.
[15:25] I did use them a lot.
[15:26] I think it was eight games over 10 days or something.
[15:29] It's pretty hectic, but...
[15:30] So what do the recovery boots do?
[15:32] They're just meant to like compress and decompress.
[15:35] And I think it's like circulation and like, I'll probably only really use them when I'm feeling really heavy and tired.
[15:40] Did you take yours all the way over there or were they?
[15:43] We had some.
[15:44] And so there was like an Oz HQ.
[15:46] Essentially, they hide out the whole hotel.
[15:48] They literally had a coffee shop there.
[15:50] They had St. Ali.
[15:51] They had St. Ali.
[15:53] Did a pop-up there.
[15:55] It was amazing.
[15:56] I don't drink coffee, so I like this.
[15:58] Oh, what?
[15:59] I don't.
[15:59] Oh, my God.
[16:00] I know.
[16:01] How long have you lived in Melbourne now?
[16:02] This is my first year.
[16:04] Oh, don't worry.
[16:05] We're going to make a coffee drink.
[16:06] I know.
[16:06] I need to be.
[16:06] Do you not like the taste?
[16:07] I don't like the taste or the smell or I don't know.
[16:11] What?
[16:11] I think it's genetics.
[16:12] My dad hates it, so I'm really blaming him.
[16:15] Yeah.
[16:15] Where are you from originally in Australia?
[16:17] Yeah.
[16:17] I was born in Sydney.
[16:18] My family are Queenslanders.
[16:20] I grew up in New Zealand for 13 years.
[16:22] Right, okay.
[16:23] And then I went back to Sydney.
[16:24] Now I'm here.
[16:25] Now you're in Melbourne.
[16:26] Yeah.
[16:26] Do you have Maldi in you?
[16:27] I don't.
[16:28] I had this fight with my husband.
[16:29] Did you?
[16:30] Yeah, because he's like, no, no, I did a photo shoot with Steve Price.
[16:33] You would think he is, though.
[16:34] Jay's dad, Steve, he's Maldi.
[16:36] And I'm like, no, I don't think he is.
[16:37] He goes, I'm telling you, because Chris, my husband, that's enough.
[16:41] That's enough.
[16:42] He was...
[16:44] the face of Puma.
[16:45] And I think your dad was the face of Puma at the same time.
[16:48] So they used to do lots of campaign shoots together.
[16:51] And I remember this was like, God, 10, 12, 14 years ago or something.
[16:57] It might have been like at the end of your dad's career.
[16:59] Yeah, it would have been.
[17:00] And this guy met this cool kid, this big Maori fella.
[17:04] And then I'm like, hey, so you know Jamie Lee Price, that's her dad.
[17:10] And he's like, oh, so she's Maldi.
[17:12] And I'm like, I don't think she is.
[17:13] And then you posted a hucka on your page.
[17:16] I'm like, oh, now I'm really confused.
[17:21] Well, you've heard it here.
[17:23] Well, yeah.
[17:24] To be fair.
[17:24] There you go, Jaddy.
[17:25] I told you.
[17:26] Dad does have like this massive like Maldi, like Islander tattoo on him.
[17:31] So probably, Jaddy probably saw him and was like, he's generally.
[17:35] He probably would have.
[17:36] Probably.
[17:36] Like, honestly.
[17:37] I love it.
[17:38] That's the thing with Maldi culture.
[17:39] Like, everyone can just embrace it.
[17:41] Yeah.
[17:42] Everyone can do the haka.
[17:43] There was an Australian netball coach.
[17:45] Yes, Briony.
[17:46] Doing Briony, doing it at the Com Games.
[17:48] It was so cool seeing everyone do it.
[17:50] It was wicked.
[17:51] I love it.
[17:52] I said to my boys, I'm like, next time we go and visit Pop, we're going to learn how to do it.
[17:56] Because all my family are Kiwis.
[17:58] Oh, there you go.
[17:59] What the heck?
[18:00] I didn't know that.
[18:01] Yeah, no, I'm Maldi.
[18:02] She's proper.
[18:02] There you go.
[18:03] Yeah.
[18:04] I'm the real deal, mate.
[18:05] I'm the real deal.
[18:09] So good.
[18:19] treatments.
[18:20] Yes.
[18:20] Yes.
[18:21] Yeah.
[18:21] Okay.
[18:22] So before I went to the Comm Games, I did for the first time I did the, is it Haifu or?
[18:26] Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
[18:27] I tried it.
[18:28] Yeah.
[18:29] Did it hurt?
[18:30] It wasn't too bad actually.
[18:31] Okay.
[18:32] I really enjoyed that.
[18:33] I've done like micro needling.
[18:34] I love like a facial.
[18:36] Yeah.
[18:36] I get them done a lot because I'm like, I need to look after my skin and like, you know, it's the biggest organ in your body and yeah, just makes you feel good and
[18:43] I don't really wear makeup a lot, so I feel like...
[18:46] Skin qualities is your thing.
[18:49] Yeah, that's my thing.
[18:50] So I've tried a bit of that.
[18:51] Yeah, I'm open to trying so many things.
[18:54] Do you guys have any recommendations?
[18:57] I love microneedling.
[18:58] I really, really do.
[19:00] And microneedling with like a serum added in is really cool.
[19:06] You went and saw someone who...
[19:08] What was he saying he loved for neck?
[19:11] For neck, yeah.
[19:12] Yes.
[19:13] I've just actually just bought a – they're expensive, but you can buy them.
[19:17] It's at home.
[19:17] There's all these guidelines on how to do it correctly at home.
[19:20] What is it, like a microneedling?
[19:21] It's a microneedling, yeah.
[19:23] It's got all the settings of like –
[19:25] You didn't get it from Teemu, did you?
[19:26] No, I bought it.
[19:27] No, I paid like $600 something for it.
[19:29] Yeah, right.
[19:30] Yeah, and it's like legit.
[19:33] And then it comes with, you can buy all the serums.
[19:35] So you can buy like a… Like a hyaluronic and a vitamin C. Yeah, vitamin C. And then, yeah, so I've done that.
[19:42] Is there a random or affordable product you genuinely swear by, like a supermarket or a chemist product?
[19:49] Like my favorite…
[19:50] My Revlon Color Stay.
[19:52] Yes.
[19:53] Liner, it stays on all bloody day even when I eat.
[19:56] Yeah.
[19:57] And it's like $13 for my chemist.
[19:58] Mine's like my L'Oreal Mascara Brown.
[20:01] Oh, yes.
[20:01] I'm into the brown mascara at the moment.
[20:03] Blue eyes, I get it.
[20:04] Yeah, yeah.
[20:06] Brown-eyed mascara girls.
[20:08] Okay, this is really random.
[20:11] We love random.
[20:12] Nipple cream for your lips.
[20:14] Oh, yeah.
[20:15] I love this.
[20:16] Okay, which one?
[20:18] Well, I've got it in my back.
[20:19] It's just like the purple one.
[20:21] Purple nipple cream.
[20:22] It's like, okay, because I don't like purple cream.
[20:26] I don't.
[20:26] Like I find lots of like the things that are meant to like help your lips.
[20:31] Dry them out.
[20:32] Yeah, they dry you out, right?
[20:33] But also I feel like it just comes off really quickly and easily.
[20:36] And it's like annoying and like every time you're in the wind and it's like sticky and you're like...
[20:40] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[20:41] But yeah, nipple cream.
[20:42] So what got you on to nipple cream?
[20:45] What made you go, I'm going to put nipple cream on my face?
[20:47] Wouldn't you like to know?
[20:50] I was just experimenting.
[20:53] Was it a TikTok trend?
[20:55] Like the packaging, nipple cream.
[20:57] It was nice she got engaged.
[21:00] One of my friends actually got me on to it.
[21:03] I don't know if it was just like because she just had a baby and maybe she was like, maybe I'll try it elsewhere.
[21:09] But, yeah, she like had it out once and then she put it on her lips and I was like, what is that?
[21:13] And she's like, nipple cream via lips.
[21:15] And I was like, okay, let me try.
[21:17] And it's good?
[21:19] Yep, so good.
[21:20] Okay, I'm 100% doing that because I really struggle with that for the reasons you said.
[21:24] So I bought the Laneige.
[21:26] lip mask that you're meant to put on before bed.
[21:29] And I wake up in the morning and it's done the opposite.
[21:31] Literally.
[21:33] So it makes you buy then the other thing.
[21:35] Oh, the other thing.
[21:36] It does it on purpose, yeah.
[21:37] Do you know what I actually love for lips as well?
[21:39] Just good old-fashioned lanolin.
[21:40] Yeah.
[21:41] It's so good.
[21:42] Vaseline.
[21:42] Which is from sheep's wool lanolin.
[21:44] Oh, okay.
[21:45] Yeah.
[21:45] And when I went to this sheep's farm once,
[21:48] When did you go to a sheep's farm?
[21:49] This is when I was hosting postcards.
[21:50] And I was at Baruna Plains, which is now where they have BTV Festival.
[21:55] Okay.
[21:55] So I went there and filmed there and we were playing with the sheep wool.
[21:59] Yeah.
[21:59] And when you squeeze it, the lanolin comes out and it is amazing.
[22:03] And then you just stick it.
[22:04] The lanolin's a good smell.
[22:06] Oh, really?
[22:06] That works.
[22:07] Trust me, Harry's got a farm and we had to do like the...
[22:11] Shearing.
[22:11] The shearing and stuff.
[22:13] This is Harry, your fiancé?
[22:14] My fiancé, sorry.
[22:14] Oh, your fiancé.
[22:16] My fiancé.
[22:17] And, yeah, I had to, like, get the sheep wool and, like, chuck it over and, like, get all the, like, literal shit off the dog.
[22:24] It's like, ugh.
[22:25] Yeah.
[22:27] And my hands were so, like, oily.
[22:29] Yeah, from the lannin.
[22:30] And soft.
[22:31] Soft.
[22:32] But, yeah, it was amazing.
[22:33] I mean, once you get all the...
[22:35] It's probably the nipple cream that you're putting on your lips.
[22:37] Yeah.
[22:37] It might be like one of the key ingredients.
[22:40] Maybe.
[22:41] Maybe.
[22:42] Maybe, maybe.
[22:43] Oh, my God.
[22:44] So good.
[22:45] Is there a beauty trend or treatment you've tried and thought, yeah, never again?
[22:49] Any disasters?
[22:51] Oh, my gosh.
[22:51] I feel like just generally just like TikTok.
[22:54] I feel like I get so sucked in to just like people, like someone will have a magazine.
[22:59] I'm like, I've got to buy that.
[23:00] I've got to buy that.
[23:01] And then I think it was like a couple years ago, I had just gotten off the pill and I
[23:06] And it must have just been like a whole combination of like everything.
[23:09] I never had bad acne.
[23:10] And I just like come off that.
[23:13] So then I know my hormones must have been all over the place.
[23:16] And then I was trying like all these different skincares and I just like broke out like crazy.
[23:21] And I just feel like I'm so like scarred from that.
[23:23] I'm like, I'm never.
[23:24] You're buying anything on TikTok ever again.
[23:27] Other than clothes.
[23:28] But like.
[23:29] Skin care was crazy.
[23:31] Yeah.
[23:31] I should agree with that.
[23:33] I feel like, yeah, when you have a breakout, see a professional or not like.
[23:36] Yeah.
[23:37] And you know that's actually.
[23:38] Watch someone's doing it on TikTok.
[23:39] You know that's actually.
[23:39] I've been there before.
[23:40] Don't worry.
[23:41] Oh, mate.
[23:41] You should see the bag.
[23:42] The bag of stuff that she's bought from TikTok.
[23:45] Oh, my God.
[23:46] The amount of stuff.
[23:46] What?
[23:47] What was that cool thing we bought?
[23:49] Maybe not that cool.
[23:50] It's like some clips and when you pop them on your hair, it made your face go like this.
[23:54] Yes.
[23:55] And then we had the neat read-all, the stingy stuff.
[23:58] Stingy stuff.
[23:59] I bought like a full like bandage face mask thing that you do while you're asleep.
[24:05] We did a jaw neck massage.
[24:06] I did a tight neck.
[24:07] It just looked like we were giving BJs the whole time.
[24:11] Yeah, my husband walks in a wheelchair and he's like,
[24:13] What is going on?
[24:15] That's right.
[24:15] We're sitting at your kitchen bed.
[24:16] That's right.
[24:17] You're lasering yourself.
[24:18] Oh, my God.
[24:19] I was all happy.
[24:20] Oh, my gosh.
[24:21] But TikTok trends and Instagram beauty viral trends is literally one of the reasons we created Vaynish to begin with.
[24:28] Yes.
[24:28] We were getting bombarded with all of this stuff and we thought...
[24:31] Let's break all this stuff down and actually get experts to debug or to actually say, no, that's good girls, that works or that doesn't.
[24:40] So, yeah, it's been interesting.
[24:41] I know.
[24:42] There was like a point where there was like 10 different products that I bought and I was like, I've got to put this on, got to put this on, like layer, layer, layer.
[24:49] It's like, what am I doing?
[24:50] Do you know what I just bought?
[24:51] You're going to laugh.
[24:52] There is a, it's like a balm and you pop it underneath your eyes and in your nasal labia.
[24:57] Oh, yeah.
[24:58] Label floor.
[24:58] That's how you say it.
[25:00] Nasal labial.
[25:01] Just say it with confidence.
[25:02] Because all I heard there was labia.
[25:04] Labia.
[25:04] Labia.
[25:06] I actually looked it up recently and it's nasal labia.
[25:09] Nasolabial folds.
[25:11] No, there's no L. Nasolabial.
[25:14] Nasolabial.
[25:16] Nasolabial.
[25:17] Whatever, that thing.
[25:19] This part, I actually bought it and it says that it's boob filler and you pop it on your face.
[25:24] So I try to do it and then I broke out in peridematitis.
[25:27] Oh my gosh, I get that.
[25:29] Yes.
[25:29] And then I was put on antibiotics because of this boob filler thing.
[25:32] Are you guys relaxed?
[25:33] Are you guys related?
[25:34] Yeah, probably.
[25:34] I love the same thing.
[25:36] I love to do Queensland.
[25:37] There we go.
[25:38] There we go.
[25:39] Same colours.
[25:40] Same colours.
[25:42] I did the same thing.
[25:43] So it's just, yeah.
[25:45] Yeah, boob filler.
[25:46] They're the craziest trends.
[25:47] And then I sit there going, I'll look at my cabinet and I've bought all the same things, all different brands.
[25:53] Because one says it's got one extra ingredient.
[25:54] But I'm like, they all do the same things.
[25:56] And I've just spent $300 on $20 products.
[26:00] But it's all doing the same thing.
[26:02] I know.
[26:03] So yeah, it's good to like...
[26:05] Yeah, not follow those trends.
[26:06] Literally.
[26:06] And throw half that together.
[26:07] And just listen to us.
[26:08] Yeah, yeah.
[26:09] Listen and also just like I find the biggest thing is like actually probably – like I love like eating well.
[26:16] Like I feel like what you put in your body is probably just as good as like – Yeah.
[26:19] You're probably better than what you put on your skin.
[26:21] 100%.
[26:22] Yes, it's so true.
[26:23] Yeah.
[26:24] What do they say?
[26:24] Like whatever you eat –
[26:26] it shows on your skin, I think, 23 or 25 days later.
[26:30] There's like an actual scientific thing.
[26:31] No way, really.
[26:31] Yeah.
[26:32] I didn't know that.
[26:32] So if you have a really big night drinking, you'll have a breakout about three weeks later.
[26:38] Oh, three weeks later.
[26:39] So it's not instant.
[26:41] So yeah.
[26:41] Interesting.
[26:42] And remember we had Dr. Andrew Green-Smith on, he was talking about alcohol, how much it ages your skin in every drinking session.
[26:47] Yeah.
[26:48] Yeah.
[26:49] I'd look 12.
[26:50] Sometimes it's nice not to know.
[26:53] You might not have one here for us, but let's have a crack.
[26:57] What's been your most vain-ish moment?
[27:00] Most vain-ish moment?
[27:02] I feel like the first time I ever faked hand was horrific.
[27:06] It was in the 2019 World Cup in...
[27:09] Liverpool.
[27:10] And I got this fake tan from, like, it's like an English brand.
[27:15] And it was like clear.
[27:16] Oh, yeah.
[27:17] So I was just like lathering it on and I was like, oh.
[27:19] Not knowing where it's going.
[27:20] Not knowing where it's going.
[27:21] No idea.
[27:21] The next, like, I slept in it.
[27:23] The next day I've got it like all over my palms.
[27:25] Like it's patchy as.
[27:27] And I'm just like, oh, maybe this is a sign not to fake tan.
[27:31] Just get it done by a professional.
[27:32] Literally, get it done by a professional.
[27:35] Use the mitt.
[27:36] Yeah.
[27:36] And was that telecast?
[27:37] Yeah.
[27:38] Yeah, like we had to play that day.
[27:40] So it's like we're just rolling with it.
[27:42] But lucky we were like sweating and like playing every day.
[27:44] So it came off completely.
[27:46] Came off.
[27:46] What do you guys do?
[27:47] Because like with spray tan and stuff, like I won't ever wear light colors.
[27:51] Because if I do sweat, the colors just come off.
[27:53] Like what do you have like a hot tip when you're playing?
[27:56] Yeah.
[27:57] And you've got spray tan on and you're wearing a light color outfit.
[28:00] Like...
[28:01] Does it just turn 50 shades of purple and green?
[28:04] It does.
[28:04] It does.
[28:05] Yeah.
[28:05] Well, I feel like a lot of our uniforms, I mean, we wear yellow and green for diamonds.
[28:10] Yeah.
[28:11] But then we've got like baby blue.
[28:12] I mean, they're dark, but they're not like that dark.
[28:15] Yeah, yeah.
[28:15] But yeah, it shows in your socks.
[28:17] Like when you're wearing white socks and like after a game, you're like, oh, it looks like a rainbow.
[28:21] You're like, is this tie-dye?
[28:23] Yeah.
[28:23] It's so funny.
[28:24] And you know, it's bloody hard to come out.
[28:25] I bought a white pair of bikinis.
[28:28] and sweated on them and then they were ruined.
[28:30] Yeah, they were.
[28:31] And I used stain remover and everything, still didn't get it out.
[28:33] Do you know what you used to do?
[28:34] What?
[28:34] Throw it with bicarb soda.
[28:35] So put them into a washing machine and just like a tablespoon of bicarb soda and like have that, it will...
[28:43] white white white white really I didn't do that with all my socks yeah do it with all your socks so throw all your socks in all your white knickers and then throw just a tablespoon of bicarb soda I just honestly I don't even do a tablespoon I'm like more is not more is not and then have all your whites in it comes out feeling crusty and crappy like it does but it does whiten it you throw it into the dryer and
[29:04] And it just softens.
[29:05] But bicarb soda literally takes the color back to white.
[29:09] Where'd you find that?
[29:10] I'm the washing queen.
[29:12] She's like the laundry lady.
[29:13] I'm the laundry lady.
[29:14] Yeah.
[29:15] I live in the laundry.
[29:16] It's like what calms your mind when it's racing.
[29:19] When it's racing.
[29:20] She just goes and stares at a white wall and folds washing.
[29:23] And folds washing.
[29:25] It's so good.
[29:26] I wish I could do that.
[29:27] Past life, I think I was a...
[29:29] Laundry lady.
[29:30] I'll do everyone's washing.
[29:31] I love it.
[29:31] I love it.
[29:32] I'll do it all.
[29:33] Jay, last question.
[29:34] Yes.
[29:34] What is next for you?
[29:36] What are you excited about right now?
[29:39] So many things.
[29:39] With anything or just everything?

[29:58] Have you been there?
[29:59] Yeah.
[29:59] Did we go there together and have that party in the shed?
[30:01] No.
[30:02] Oh, yeah.
[30:02] That was Wagga Wagga though.
[30:03] Okay.
[30:04] That was somewhere else.
[30:04] Okay.
[30:05] You had a party in the shed?
[30:07] We've done a lot.
[30:08] We've been and we've conquered everything.

[30:45] They won gold at Com Games.
[30:46] Who are you going to go for?
[30:47] We would have beat them.
[30:48] Oh, it was good for Australia.
[30:49] Since you're a Kiwi now.
