Bec and Jess are back from their family holidays and, unsurprisingly, there’s a lot to unpack. Bec escaped to Broome, while Jess headed to Vietnam - although getting there wasn’t quite as straightforward as planned. The girls recap the highs, the lows and the moments they definitely didn’t see coming, from travel mishaps and unexpected injuries to questionable spending decisions and a very Vain-ish reunion in Thredbo that ended with a dramatic encounter with the snow. Plus, what they wish they’d packed, the best things they spent their money on, and the beauty and fashion essentials that made the cut. [0:02] a listener production.
[0:05] I'm Bec Judd.
[0:06] And I'm Jess Roberts.
[0:07] And we're done with the smoke and mirrors.
[0:09] Fainish shares honest stories about what it takes to look amazing because we did not wake up like this.
[0:15] And you should know the stuff that we chat about on this podcast is based on our personal experiences.
[0:21] We're sharing it for your entertainment.
[0:23] It's definitely not medical advice.
[0:26] And we'll always be clear with you when something is a paid endorsement.
[0:29] Please always chat with your qualified healthcare team before making any decisions about your health.
[0:50] All right.
[0:50] Hey, everyone.
[0:51] I'm Jess Roberts.
[0:52] I'm Begjad.
[0:52] Welcome.
[0:53] Welcome.
[0:55] Welcome.
[0:55] Welcome.
[0:56] Welcome.
[0:57] Welcome to a Danish podcast.
[1:00] Yes.
[1:01] Welcome.
[1:01] Is that German?
[1:02] That's German.
[1:03] Yeah.
[1:04] Volvo.
[1:04] No.
[1:06] See, we've been on holidays for a long time.
[1:09] Yeah, we don't know.
[1:10] We've left our brains in Broome and in Vietnam.
[1:12] Yeah.
[1:13] Because I'm still in holiday mode.
[1:15] Yeah, so we haven't seen each other for ages and we've just been reunited.
[1:18] I know.
[1:19] It's the longest time we've been apart.
[1:21] We've been becoming best friends.
[1:22] It's also the first holiday we've not been on together.
[1:25] I know.
[1:26] Yeah, we do everything together.
[1:27] Everything.
[1:28] Everything.
[1:29] So I was in Broome for three weeks and Jess, you were in Vietnam for a couple of weeks?
[1:33] Three weeks, yeah.
[1:34] Yeah, wow.
[1:36] And so we thought, now that we're back in the studio, that we do a little recap on our holidays.
[1:42] Gosh.
[1:43] It feels like forever ago, but I'm looking back.
[1:45] You know when you look back at photos and it kind of like treats your memory and you go, oh, my God, that photo, but this was happening behind the scenes or this happened on that day or I just bloody lost a twin or I just stubbed my toenail or like all these crazy things that happened behind the scenes.
[2:02] So let's do a holiday recap because I want to hear all about yours and I'm going to tell you all about mine.
[2:07] Because we actually didn't speak to each other much on the holidays.
[2:10] Yeah.
[2:10] No, I think I called you once.
[2:11] What was it for?
[2:13] I actually called you about clogging a toilet.
[2:15] Oh, that's right.
[2:18] Yes, you clogged a toilet and I said, go back in and take a photo and send it to me.
[2:24] And then I think there was a conversation in the same one about one of your kids getting sick.
[2:29] Yeah.
[2:29] Which then we found out later because we thought he was like, oh, he's got gastro, but it wasn't.
[2:32] No.
[2:33] He just ate the sugar-free gum and he ate like two packets and swallowed it all.
[2:38] And I said, don't eat that.
[2:40] It's going to make you sick.
[2:41] And then he vomited twice.
[2:43] I love that he swallowed two packets of literally chewy gum.
[2:46] Because he can't be bothered finding a bin.
[2:48] He's so lazy.
[2:49] Well, he learned a lesson.
[2:50] He did.
[2:50] Yeah.
[2:51] That's Darcy, by the way.
[2:53] Oh my God, that's so funny.
[2:53] But hey, I thought so we can structure it because you and I just go off on side quests the whole time.
[2:59] Our lovely producer, Liza, because she knows that we love a side quest, has given us some notes so we can get through everything in some kind of orderly fashion.
[3:08] Yes.
[3:10] She knows us too well.
[3:11] We're going to talk highlights.
[3:12] What was the highlight of Vietnam?
[3:14] Yes.
[3:14] The highlight of Vietnam would have to be Charlotte and G being there.
[3:20] Oh, yeah.
[3:21] My girlfriends.
[3:22] Yes.
[3:22] That was fun.
[3:23] That was fun.
[3:24] And obviously being with my children and my family.
[3:27] No, you just added that in at the end.
[3:29] You started with the girlfriends.
[3:31] No, I think it's because it's like, you know, I was in a new country and I love exploring the nightlife.
[3:35] So it was nice to have...
[3:36] girlfriends there to like explore it with you.
[3:39] I did see some footage of you dancing on a podium, you, Charlotte, Angie at a Vietnamese nightclub and you had some hype boy there who was really good.
[3:48] He was so good.
[3:48] He was in baby.
[3:49] There's my girls.
[3:50] Yeah.
[3:50] But can I say like holidays?
[3:54] are and I know people might push back on this but I'm just gonna say it holidays are only really good if you've got other people there and not just your own family yeah you need to have other families like other people you can go out with and other kids for your kids otherwise they get bored and they bust your ass all day and you have to entertain them all day and then it doesn't feel like a holiday yeah it's so true I agree with that I like have to travel with another family
[4:19] Like I usually would do like the first, you know, three or four days with my family solely and take them to museums, which I absolutely hate, and, you know, educate them.
[4:29] So like I always will do that at the first start of the trip and then...
[4:34] especially overseas, and then I'll join up with a family for entertaining my kids and myself.
[4:37] And I have a drinking partner and I'm not sitting there at a bar.
[4:40] Yeah.
[4:40] Just drinking myself.
[4:41] Anyway, so it was fun.
[4:41] That's good.
[4:42] We had, you know what it's like, so we go to Broome most years.
[4:45] We'll do, we'll go somewhere like a Europe or somewhere overseas, maybe every third or fourth year.
[4:51] But the Broome is so good.
[4:52] Like I say to my kids, where do you want to go?
[4:54] And they just choose Broome.
[4:55] I'm like, you can't.
[4:55] choose anywhere in the world.
[4:56] If you could choose anywhere in the world, where would you go?
[4:59] And they just wanted to go to Broome again.
[5:00] And then next year, we've rolled it over.
[5:03] They just want to go there again.
[5:05] It is easy for young kids.
[5:06] It's 30 degrees every day.
[5:07] It doesn't rain.
[5:08] You know what it's like.
[5:09] You came last year.
[5:10] The resort is, it kind of offers an adult's area and a kid's area, really great frozen margaritas.
[5:17] So that would be my highlight is just being at the kid's pool.
[5:20] There's mini golf, basketball court, playground, tennis courts.
[5:24] The kids just run around.
[5:25] You don't even like, now that they're older and they can all swim, you don't even supervise them.
[5:29] You just drink the frozen margaritas and there's like a triple shot of tequila all day and you have grand plans.
[5:34] Oh, we're going to go to the life-saving club and watch the sunset.
[5:36] We're going to go to Spinifex Brewing.
[5:38] No, you don't.
[5:39] You just end up sitting there ordering Florence's frozen margaritas all night, 10 margaritas later.
[5:44] It's like midnight and you're like... We're falling in the bushes.
[5:47] Yes, I'm sorry.
[5:47] Oh, last year we did fall in the bush and we found a snake.
[5:52] Or me, I just rolled out a broom because I just sit by the pool and just eat and eat and eat and eat.
[5:57] And I came back.
[5:59] I just can't sit by a pool.
[6:00] That's not my holiday.
[6:02] Mine is like...
[6:03] dopamine hits.
[6:04] Let's go find the most unhinged thing.
[6:06] Drag my kids along.
[6:08] Probably really unsafe.
[6:09] But yeah, I absolutely loved and enjoyed Brune, but I did roll out of there.
[6:13] I did.
[6:13] And you rolled out of Europe too.
[6:14] I know.
[6:15] We had to do a pregnancy test.
[6:16] Yes.
[6:17] Yeah.
[6:17] I had to do a pregnancy test.
[6:18] It wasn't.
[6:19] It wasn't.
[6:19] Yeah.
[6:19] I had to do a pregnancy test in Ibiza.
[6:20] I was like...
[6:22] Later in Ibiza, I was like, oh my God, my boobs were huge.
[6:25] They were enormous.
[6:26] You had full pregnancy boobs.
[6:28] I know.
[6:28] And I'm sitting there going, guys, like, I'm going to have to take a pregnancy test before we go out in Ibiza.
[6:33] And then I'd like, literally the night that we're going to the clubs, I was like...
[6:37] Did the pregnancy test.
[6:39] I was sitting there with your husband and we're like waiting for the test.
[6:42] I was sitting in the toilet.
[6:43] I was like, guys.
[6:44] And then Beckenfell running.
[6:45] I was like, I'm not pregnant.
[6:46] They're like, yes.
[6:48] High-fiving, running around the middle.
[6:50] And then we were like, hang on a minute.
[6:51] Yeah.
[6:51] You've just, you come from Greece.
[6:54] Yeah, yeah.
[6:54] Giros.
[6:55] Giros.
[6:55] Is that how you say it?
[6:56] Giros.
[6:56] Giros.
[6:57] Giros.
[6:57] Giros.
[6:58] Giros.
[6:58] Anyway.
[6:59] It's just 10 kilos of Giros.
[7:01] Giros.
[7:01] However you say it.
[7:03] It was the best.
[7:04] It was so good.
[7:05] It was the best.
[7:06] Anyway, that was fun.
[7:07] Oh.
[7:07] And you love a boat party.
[7:08] So Broome, we did.
[7:09] We just kept hiring boats and doing sunset cruises and hiring DJs.
[7:12] And it's so funny.
[7:13] Everyone in Broome, you know what it's like there.
[7:15] Everyone's on Broome time.
[7:16] So like on the day, people cancel.
[7:18] And it's never just like, I'm sick.
[7:21] The stories are always like, oh, I hit a kangaroo on the way to work and my car rolled and I'm in emergency at the hospital.
[7:29] Yes.
[7:30] Yeah, and remember last year, it's like someone crashed and they're with the police.
[7:34] And then this time again, this year, some DJ cancelled on us, like on the morning of, something had happened.
[7:39] He's really sick.
[7:40] He's in emergency.
[7:41] I'm like, wow, what happened just to the standard, I've got gastro?
[7:45] Yeah, yeah.
[7:45] It's always a story involving police.
[7:48] And hospitals.
[7:48] Multi-traumatic accident at a hospital.
[7:51] It's such a broom thing.
[7:52] I've noticed a trend every year I go.
[7:54] Someone's in hospital.
[7:55] Some DJ ends up in hospital.
[7:56] It's like, dude, just say, I had a bender last night.
[7:58] Yeah.
[7:59] And I can play your set.
[8:00] Oh, my God.
[8:03] That's so funny.
[8:04] Biggest holiday disaster.
[8:05] I had a go-kart accident, guys.
[8:08] I got into this go-kart and, of course, I have to win everything.
[8:11] And I was racing up against the boys, like the men.
[8:14] I was coming first and then I was going around a corner and my steering wheel wouldn't steer.
[8:19] That is so scary.
[8:21] But it was full force, was pedal to the metal.
[8:24] And then all of a sudden I smashed into like the tired wall, nearly flipped the whole go-kart.
[8:30] Thank God there was two guys that worked.
[8:32] They were like standby.
[8:33] Like they ran over to flip it back.
[8:36] And then when I did that, I literally smashed my Rolex.
[8:41] My watch.
[8:41] No way.
[8:42] Is it broken?
[8:43] No.
[8:44] Oh, if they're built to laugh.
[8:45] They're built to laugh.
[8:46] No wonder they're bloody $30,000.
[8:48] Yeah, yeah.
[8:48] But I literally, like, my watch smashed my wrist.
[8:51] Yeah, I can see it.
[8:52] You've still got a scar on it.
[8:52] I've got a scar on it, but it's also a lump now.
[8:55] Yeah.
[8:55] I've got a lump in there.
[8:56] All that inflammation and swelling, scar tissue.
[8:58] Yeah.
[8:59] You know what?
[8:59] You know how when you were in Vietnam, my algorithm was just throwing me all these Vietnamese crazy activities?
[9:06] And I was sending it to you and I'm like, please do this, please do this.
[9:09] You're like, yeah, I'm doing it, I'm doing it.
[9:10] But it's interesting you say that because I was getting so many reels of the go-kart situation in Vietnam and it's so unhinged.
[9:17] So everyone's just crashing all the time into each other, rolling cars.
[9:22] And I remember before we left, our producer lies.
[9:24] It's like, oh, Jess, just be really careful.
[9:25] Like their safety standards are...
[9:27] It's... You're in... Like...
[9:28] It's just a little bit different.
[9:29] Yeah, yeah.
[9:30] Just be, and I was seeing it on the reels, and then it actually happened to you.
[9:33] Happened to me.
[9:33] So a bolt came out, and your go-kart just stopped steering.
[9:37] Like, that is not okay.
[9:38] Yes.
[9:39] It was actually like a petrol go-kart.
[9:41] Proper go-kart.
[9:41] Proper go-kart.
[9:42] And then, anyway, smashed into the wall.
[9:44] The guy jumped on to stop it, and then he realized, he's like, oh, he's like, the steering's not working.
[9:49] And I'm like, no, I can't.
[9:50] This is why I've crashed.
[9:51] Did they try and kill you?
[9:52] Probably.
[9:53] They sabotaged your go-kart.
[9:54] Probably Val tried to kill me.
[9:54] Probably Val tried to kill me.
[9:55] Probably Val tried to kill me
[9:57] It's like, she's annoying.
[9:59] Anyway, and then when he pulled the go-kart off, he realized that there was a pin missing out of the steering wheel.
[10:04] So I couldn't actually turn it.
[10:06] Would I do it again?
[10:07] Probs.
[10:09] I'm not going to let the go-kart defeat me.
[10:10] Oh, God.
[10:12] I'm not going to let it defeat me.
[10:13] But anyway, yes.
[10:13] So good.
[10:14] Yeah.
[10:15] What else went wrong for you, babe?
[10:16] Oh, my God.
[10:17] So when you go overseas to a country, you can apply, even America, you can apply for a visa and you get it within like 24 hours.
[10:23] This is like the Esther thing, right?
[10:25] Like an Esther thing, yeah.
[10:26] So in Vietnam, you used to be able to get visas like when you arrived at the airport.
[10:30] They don't do that anymore.
[10:31] It's all over the internet now.
[10:33] Yeah.
[10:34] So when you apply for a visa for Vietnam, apply for it 10 business working days before you go.
[10:41] Everyone kind of does it last minute.
[10:43] I did mine six days before leaving, six business days.
[10:47] It gets to the day of Vietnam, going to Vietnam.
[10:50] I still don't have my visas.
[10:52] I was like, I'll be fine.
[10:53] Like we can just go there.
[10:55] And by the time we touch down, the visas will have cleared.
[10:59] Sorry, sorry, sorry.
[11:00] Take that and wind it back.
[11:04] That is so ballsy.
[11:05] You've literally got on an international flight with no visas, hoping that when you're in the air, somehow the visa office is just going to miraculously run.
[11:14] Like that is some hardcore freaking manifestation.
[11:16] That's foul.
[11:16] But that's also you.
[11:17] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[11:18] Like most people don't last minute.
[11:19] No, babe.
[11:20] Most people actually know that they need to get it done 10 days before.
[11:22] This is how the Roberts family operate.
[11:24] Oh, really?
[11:25] Did you do this 10 days before?
[11:26] Yes.
[11:26] Yes, because you check when you book the ticket.
[11:29] G's the one who also didn't get her visa approved for Coachella because when Trump took over, she's from, where's she from?
[11:35] Georgia.
[11:36] There was an issue.
[11:37] Jordan.
[11:38] From Georgia somewhere that they don't like.
[11:40] So that's that.
[11:41] G's not normal.
[11:41] You and G are in your own outlier group who just free ball and free wing it when you fly into an international country with no visas, just manifesting to the universe.
[11:51] It'll all work out.
[11:52] It usually does.
[11:53] It usually does.
[11:54] But you know, this is the thing.
[11:56] You get vindicated because every time it does work out for you.
[12:00] I know.
[12:00] It's an adult meaning it as well.
[12:01] Yeah, so then you're like, yeah, why would you ever be organised because it always works out?
[12:06] I'm sorry.
[12:07] Six days.
[12:07] I'll just roll in and just pay someone off at the customs office and in I go.
[12:12] Yeah, no, well, six days before going to a country and applying for a visa.
[12:16] I feel like that's a long time applying.
[12:18] I was pretty proud of myself.
[12:19] Because America's less than that, isn't it?
[12:21] Bali is the day before.
[12:23] Yeah.
[12:23] Like Europe, I don't even think you need a visa figure.
[12:26] I think you need one for the UK now.
[12:28] See, as soon as you book your ticket, Chatty G, do I need to do anything before landing?
[12:32] Well, Chatty G said three days.
[12:35] Chatty G, shame on you.
[12:37] Yeah.
[12:37] So then anyway, I get to the airport.
[12:40] And Val's like, you know what, babe, when we land, the visas will clear.
[12:43] And I'm like, oh, I don't know.
[12:44] I think we should just cancel the flight and then just rebook it for tomorrow or something.
[12:48] Val's like, no, no, no.
[12:49] We get to the airport and I sit in like in the car going, I reckon we're going to have to have the visas before we fly out because I know that is the same for South Africa.
[12:58] So then we get to the airport and the lady's like, okay, do you have your visas?
[13:01] And I was like looking at Val like, I told you.
[13:04] I told you.
[13:04] And then she's like, well, you have to get your visas from Flight Centre, which is just next door in the international section.
[13:10] And I was like, okay.
[13:12] And I said to Val, I think it's going to cost us thousands of dollars.
[13:15] And he's like, well, I'm not missing this flight.
[13:17] It's cost me thousands of dollars if I miss this price.
[13:20] So I was like, okay, we're going.
[13:22] $2,500.
[13:22] $2,500.
[13:23] Yeah.
[13:24] Which I paid $25 per person, spent five hours applying for the visa.
[13:29] Because the visa for Vietnam, I want you just to do one of them.
[13:33] It's full on.
[13:33] It is so full on.
[13:34] It's like 20 pages long.
[13:35] Oh, my God.
[13:36] It's so long.
[13:36] Anyway, I took two days to do visas for Vietnam.
[13:39] And then you had to pay $2,500 at the end anyway.
[13:40] Yeah, and guess what fucking happened?
[13:42] I touched down into Vietnam.
[13:44] And they'd come through.
[13:45] And they had come through.
[13:46] Oh, no.
[13:47] And I was like, if they didn't ask me at the boarding gate that I needed a visa, I would have got there.
[13:52] I would have been both because everything works out for Jesse Roberts in the end.
[13:56] Yes.
[13:56] So anyway, that was really annoying.
[13:59] $2,500.
[13:59] What else happened, babe?
[14:01] And then Val goes to me.
[14:02] He's like, where's your luggage?
[14:04] And I was like, oh, shit.
[14:06] What?
[14:08] Where's my luggage?
[14:09] I left that at home, didn't I?
[14:11] I left my luggage.
[14:12] How did you leave your luggage at home?
[14:13] Well, I was so busy on the phone trying to work out the visa situation, getting into the taxi, that I forgot my luggage.
[14:19] So you didn't end up, like, what did you take?
[14:21] Like one small thing.
[14:22] Like what was the luggage you left behind?
[14:24] All of it or part of it?
[14:25] All my toiletries, clothing.
[14:27] Like all your makeup and all your beauty products.
[14:29] Makeup, beauty products.
[14:30] Oh, God.
[14:31] I've forgotten clothes.
[14:32] I don't know.
[14:33] I don't even know what was in there.
[14:34] Pajamas.
[14:34] I don't know.
[14:35] Anyway, G had to bring her three kids along and a pram and a port-a-cot and my luggage.
[14:41] She's a good friend.
[14:42] She's a good friend.
[14:43] Had to go pick it up too.
[14:44] She's a good friend.
[14:45] Oh, from your house.
[14:45] From my house.
[14:46] Oh, G, you are a saint.
[14:47] I know.
[14:48] I know.
[14:48] She's a saint.
[14:48] You should have known, Jessie.
[14:50] This reminds me of a really, really funny story.
[14:52] This is when I first realised that you were so unhinged.
[14:55] We were flying somewhere, the Judd fam, somewhere domestic, and then they're there also at the Qantas terminal.
[15:01] They're flying to South Africa.
[15:03] When you go to South Africa, not only do you need your visas, but if anyone who's gone to South Africa knows, you need to take your birth certificates, the originals, for every child.
[15:12] And the Roberts family rocked up next to us.
[15:14] We're like, oh, my God, guys.
[15:16] Oh, how's this?
[15:16] We're at the airport.
[15:17] at the same time and Val's there like with the biggest pissed off look on his face like he's so pissed off and I was thinking uh oh what's just forgotten this time you'd forgotten the birth certificates well I didn't know I needed them so again going to South Africa didn't think that maybe you would like research what you need to take to get in well no because I went to South Africa the year before and I didn't need birth certificates because you didn't take kids no I did take kids it changed oh it changed yes not on me no that's not that's not what he was pissed off about
[15:45] Well.
[15:46] It gets even worse.
[15:47] So I had to like organize my brother-in-law to go and get the birth certificates out of the filing cabinet.
[15:53] The story gets better, guys.
[15:54] Hang in there.
[15:55] Rush them to... Qantas Domestic.
[15:58] Yeah, because we had to fly to Sydney to then fly out.
[16:00] You get on the Qantas flight from Sydney to Joburg.
[16:02] Yes.
[16:03] And so then I'm sitting there going like, okay, done that.
[16:06] You're like, ha ha, it's okay.
[16:08] Everything works out.
[16:09] My brother was gone and got all the birth certificates.
[16:10] It's fine.
[16:11] They've all landed at the airport.
[16:13] And then the next thing I...
[16:15] They show my passports to the lady at the desk.
[16:18] She looks at them.
[16:19] I'm there now.
[16:20] Val's like, what are we going to do with the best of it?
[16:21] So I'm now on the phone again and then I go into like robot mode.
[16:26] I then pack the passports away and then anyway, off they go.
[16:31] I go to the gate and then the lady goes, oh, do you have your passport with you?
[16:35] And I was like...
[16:37] no, they'll do the passports.
[16:38] He's like, no, I had packed the passports into the luggage.
[16:43] The check-in luggage.
[16:43] Check-in luggage.
[16:46] Anyway, I was like, oh my.
[16:48] And the thing was like when we got to Sydney, they were taking our bags off and it was going through.
[16:52] So I then am on the plane going, I'm not going to be able to go through.
[16:56] Customs.
[16:57] You can't go through customs.
[16:58] Yes.
[16:59] So then I'm going on the plane going, oh my God, what to do?
[17:01] I then speak with Qantas like, oh my God.
[17:03] This is what's happened.
[17:04] And she's like, no, I know.
[17:05] It's all good.
[17:06] She's like, when the plane stops in the tarmac, we'll come up and grab you.
[17:09] And so anyway, I'm sitting there.
[17:10] We get to Sydney and all of a sudden it's like, is Jessica Roberts in 2B, whatever it is on the plane?
[17:16] And I was like, yeah, I'm here.
[17:18] Stood up.
[17:18] And then these guys rock up.
[17:20] So they've got the ladder thing.
[17:22] And then the guys come up, the staircase in high-vis.
[17:25] Like, is Jessica Roberts here?
[17:26] I was like, yeah, it's here.
[17:27] They're like, here's a high-vis shirt.
[17:28] And I was like, what do I do?
[17:29] They're like, you've got to go find your bag.
[17:31] So everyone had to stay on the plane.
[17:34] Oh, you are that annoying person.
[17:36] And I had to go down and find my bag.
[17:39] And get the passports out.
[17:41] Get the passports out.
[17:41] And the whole plane was waiting for you.
[17:43] Had to wait.
[17:43] And then they... Oh, my God.
[17:45] Were they waiting?
[17:46] God, it was so long ago.
[17:47] I reckon you text me and were like, we're delayed because it's taking time for me to get the passports.
[17:52] I got down.
[17:52] I wasn't allowed to go under the plane.
[17:53] I can just imagine you like...
[17:55] It works out in the air.
[17:57] Well, it did.
[17:57] I got my passport.
[17:59] Held up the plane.
[18:00] Held up the plane.
[18:00] Well, no, everyone was getting off the plane anyway.
[18:02] So I had to like go down.
[18:03] Then they go, is this your bag?
[18:04] I'm like, yep.
[18:04] And then on the tarmac, I had to open up the bag, grab my passport.
[18:08] Then they obviously put it on the truck and it goes to the next airplane.
[18:11] Anyway, that's what happened.
[18:12] Probably delayed the flight by maybe 10 minutes.
[18:14] That's all right.
[18:15] Maybe less.
[18:16] I probably didn't even delay it at all, to be honest.
[18:18] Probably not.
[18:18] But I love that story.
[18:19] Because everything works out for me.
[18:20] Everything always works out for this nut job.
[18:23] Yeah, yeah.
[18:26] All right, best thing you spent money on.
[18:27] I know what you're going to say.
[18:28] I already agree.
[18:29] My Chanel bag.
[18:31] She got a black Chanel 25.
[18:33] I did, I did.
[18:34] It's my first one that I actually purchased.
[18:36] So good.
[18:37] And because it's so hard to get in Australia.
[18:40] Yeah.
[18:40] And I went into the Chanel there and I just said to Val, I was like, oh, I just want to check this out.
[18:43] Like, oh, we've got two of them or three of them.
[18:45] And they had all the colors.
[18:47] Oh, so good.
[18:48] Like they had pink.
[18:48] They had every single fabric.
[18:50] They had denim.
[18:50] They had white.
[18:51] They had everything.
[18:53] And then I saw it then I was like, I have to get it because it's so hard to get.
[18:56] And then I actually sat there going, do I buy all three and then like make a profit and sell two of them?
[19:01] And I usually would have biased remorse, but I didn't.
[19:03] I still love it.
[19:05] Yeah.
[19:05] I still kind of go, nah, I'm glad I got it.
[19:08] Yeah, nah, you never regret a Chanel.
[19:10] No.
[19:10] Never.
[19:10] I forget most.
[19:11] I always like regret most of my products, but this one I'm like, nah, I don't regret this one.
[19:14] Nah, you earned it, babe.
[19:16] Well done.
[19:16] Best thing I spent money on.
[19:18] Margaritas.
[19:19] So way too many margaritas.
[19:20] How's this?
[19:20] So I gave, I gave, um, I gave, um, I gave, um, I gave, um, I gave, um, I gave, um, I gave
[19:25] When we go there, around the kids' family pool is a great big pool, heaps of umbrellas, heaps of sun lounges.
[19:32] This is where the playground, the mini golf, the tennis courts and the basketball court are.
[19:35] So there's like this kind of bar in the middle and you can order your drinks and your food from there.
[19:41] And I go up to the ladies and it's the same lovely ladies, Jo and Florence, every year.
[19:46] Yeah.
[19:46] And they're like, oh, the Judd family, you're back.
[19:48] And there was about 30 of us there.
[19:50] And it's always the same families.
[19:52] And I go up to them at the start and I say, so, yep, Tom, Darcy, Oscar, Billy, my four.
[19:57] So they're allowed to come and order and charge it to the room.
[20:01] They don't need me to come and sign every time.
[20:04] Because I'd put them there and then I'd take off to the adults only pool because I had way better Wi-Fi.
[20:08] And I'd just go and like work over without the kids.
[20:10] And I'd say to Oscar, who's 15, like, you mind, you brothers and sisters over there.
[20:15] Anyway, yeah.
[20:16] So they're like, yep, okay, great, roger that.
[20:19] Anyway, about a week later, Darcy, who's nine, comes over to me.
[20:22] He goes, this is just the best holiday ever.
[20:24] I'm like, what do you mean?
[20:24] He goes, just everything's free here.
[20:28] I ordered 14 Coca-Colas for all my friends in the pool.
[20:31] I'm like, what do you mean?
[20:32] And he goes, the milkshakes, the burgers, the jungle juices, everything's for free.
[20:37] Like you just order it and they just give it to you.
[20:39] Oh, my God.
[20:40] And I went, wow.
[20:41] what?
[20:41] I was like, no, mate.
[20:43] Like we have to pay for those.
[20:44] Like they're getting charged to the room.
[20:46] When you sign it, it gets charged to the room and the jungle juice is like 30 bucks a pop.
[20:51] I'm like, shit.
[20:52] So I went to reception and I'm like, can you just print out what we owe already just so I can keep an eye?
[20:59] Wow.
[20:59] Oh God.
[21:00] It's like $2,300 for one week.
[21:03] Stop.
[21:03] For a week of food and
[21:05] I mean, there was a lot of margaritas on there, right?
[21:07] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[21:08] But I had to, like, cut him off.
[21:10] I had to cut my nine-year-old off the bar.
[21:12] Oh, my God.
[21:13] That is so...
[21:13] So, guys, if you're in Broome next year and you see a Judd clan, just ask them to buy them jungle juices for you.
[21:19] Yeah, yeah.
[21:19] Oh, he was buying all these... Oh, my God.
[21:21] Tom and Darcy have little girlfriends.
[21:22] That was the highlight.
[21:23] They didn't make it to Instagram.
[21:24] They would just buy all their girlfriends food, drinks, all the...
[21:28] They were cool because they were just feeding and just giving drinks to everyone, all the kids at Broome, where it was going on the Judd accounts.
[21:35] Stop, that is horrible.
[21:36] Yeah, hilarious.
[21:46] All right.
[21:46] So now let's talk holiday beauty and fashion.
[21:49] What was your holiday beauty MVP?
[21:52] I had no makeup.
[21:52] So I was in duty free and I just bought like the cheapest makeup.
[21:55] And I bought like a Clarins foundation, but it's got a peptide serum attached to it.
[22:00] It's like two cylinders into one foundation.
[22:04] Anyway, I started using that over there and it actually worked really nicely with like obviously the moisture sat nicely.
[22:11] Wasn't oily or anything?
[22:11] It wasn't oily, no.
[22:13] It was actually really good.
[22:14] Say Clarence in French because it's a French brand.
[22:16] And I always laugh when I hear people pronounce it properly.
[22:19] Clarence?
[22:20] Yeah, it's Clarence.
[22:21] Clarence?
[22:22] Like that on it.
[22:22] Oh, it's so sexy.
[22:23] I can speak Clarence, you know that?
[22:25] Bonjour, je m'appelle Jessica.
[22:26] Je vous dis.
[22:27] Clarence?
[22:28] Clarence.
[22:29] Clarence?
[22:30] Yes, I bought that.
[22:32] I need to find a good base to put it on.
[22:34] in this cold condition.
[22:35] I feel like it's a lot better in the moisture for me because I've got really, really, really dry skin.
[22:40] Yeah, okay.
[22:40] So it works really well over there.
[22:42] Okay, sounds good.
[22:44] What about you?
[22:44] Well, I am actually an ambassador for this company, so I need to declare that.
[22:49] But also, I also need to tell you guys that this was actually my beauty MVP and it was so bloody good.
[22:56] So you know how I was there for 21 days?
[22:58] Guess how many times I washed my hair?
[23:00] It's actually gross.
[23:00] I've never gone this long before.
[23:02] Oh, you go pretty long.
[23:03] This is longer than ever.
[23:04] Oh, my God.
[23:05] Okay.
[23:06] In 21 days, so that's three weeks.
[23:09] You didn't wash your hair for, okay.
[23:11] How many times did I wash my hair in three weeks?
[23:13] I reckon twice.
[23:14] Yep, twice.
[23:15] Oh, my God.
[23:16] Twice.
[23:16] And I was in 30 degrees and I was playing tennis and I was playing golf and I was going to the beach and I was wearing hats.
[23:22] I was sweaty, sweaty, sweaty Betty.
[23:24] Oh, my God.
[23:25] Chris really loved kissing the back of your head.
[23:27] Oh, I was actually like, oh, Mom.
[23:29] There's a Cody.
[23:30] Yeah.
[23:30] Yeah.
[23:32] You look good though.
[23:32] I used the Hairification Dry Wash Dry Shampoo.
[23:36] So it sprays in wet.
[23:38] It's a dupe of the K18.
[23:40] Yeah, yeah.
[23:40] So it goes in wet.
[23:42] You spray it on and you actually go, I'm being honest, this isn't going to work.
[23:46] Yeah, it's going to make my hair greasy and gross.
[23:48] How can I spray in something wet to already oily hair and it's going to brush out dry?
[23:53] Let me tell you, you tussle it in, you brush it out.
[23:56] It is...
[23:57] freaking amazing.
[23:58] Hang on.
[23:59] It's amazing.
[24:00] So you put in this dry shampoo, comes out wet.
[24:04] It's a spray.
[24:05] Okay.
[24:05] It's a wet spray and then you tussle it and it kind of dries and then you brush it out and your hair is perfect.
[24:11] Oh, okay.
[24:12] Like it's unbelievable.
[24:13] I don't know what the science is behind it, but it's so bloody good.
[24:16] Yeah.
[24:16] Yes, I am sponsored by them, but I'm telling you guys like...
[24:21] It's a game changer.
[24:22] Go out and get it.
[24:23] Okay.
[24:23] Go out and get it.
[24:24] You've got to.
[24:25] I swear on my kid's life.
[24:26] Freaking amazing.
[24:28] It's amazing.
[24:28] I thought you were going to lump in the little nails as well.
[24:32] Oh, yeah.
[24:33] I didn't want to do two sponsored things.
[24:36] But the candy claws were my OGs as well.
[24:38] Yeah.
[24:39] With the stickers, they lasted nine days.
[24:41] The reason they lasted so long with the stickers, so stick on press-ons candy claws, the reason they lasted so long is because I wasn't washing my hair.
[24:48] Yeah.
[24:49] Or dishes.
[24:50] Or any dishes.
[24:50] Or clothes.
[24:51] So no dishes.
[24:52] No washing hair.
[24:53] Usually the stickers last about three days because they get wet and moisture in there.
[24:57] Nine days I went.
[24:58] Wow.
[24:58] Yeah.
[24:59] It was so amazing.
[25:01] So yeah, be a dirty gal.
[25:02] Yeah.
[25:03] A clean dirty gal.
[25:04] A clean dirty gal.
[25:05] My biggest beauty fail.
[25:06] Do you know what I think it was?
[25:08] This is a really niche one.
[25:10] My eyebrows get really black because I've naturally kind of got dark brown, borderline black hair and I hadn't lightened them for so long.
[25:17] And I had the
[25:17] blackest, bushiest brows.
[25:20] And I went to the Woolies and the Coles and all the pharmacies in Broome to get the, it's like a Sally Hansen or like a Nair facial bleach to bleach them a little bit and take the edge off.
[25:31] But I couldn't find any.
[25:32] So I was just rolling with these really severe black brows.
[25:36] Slugs.
[25:36] Yes, slugs.
[25:37] I had the slugs.
[25:38] What about you?
[25:39] Mine was not getting a keratin fail, was like actually not getting my hair done before I
[25:47] I've gone curly over the last couple of years and going to Asia where it was just so humid, my hair was just frizz.
[25:56] I've never experienced that before.
[25:58] When I used to go like live in Noosa, it was like, oh my God, my hair, it's so frizzy.
[26:03] I never understood it because I was like, how's your hair frizzy from humidity?
[26:08] Until I literally went to
[26:11] to Vietnam, I was like, oh my God, I understand what everyone's been crapping on about for the last 20 years.
[26:17] Yeah.
[26:18] It's so funny seeing you now with this wild curly hair.
[26:21] Fucking driving me insane.
[26:22] I love it.
[26:23] No, it's not.
[26:23] It's a frizz.
[26:24] Anyway, so that was my...
[26:26] That was my biggest fail was not getting that done.
[26:30] Did you pack anything that you never used and you went, well, that was a bloody waste of space?
[26:34] Yeah.
[26:34] I'm such a shit packer.
[26:36] Yeah.
[26:36] I wore the same thing every fucking day.
[26:38] Same.
[26:39] Every day.
[26:39] And because I've got ADHD, I only wear black.
[26:42] Yeah.
[26:42] Only wear black.
[26:43] So I literally just wore the same outfit over and over and over again.
[26:47] You just need to wear like wardrobe, like NYC wardrobe.
[26:50] Yeah.
[26:50] And then just black jagged, like the little pedal pushes.
[26:52] Black henny.
[26:53] And that's it.
[26:53] That is it.
[26:54] Yeah.
[26:54] That is it.
[26:55] And I think, you know, I used to wear a lot of color back in the day.
[26:57] I love you in color.
[26:59] Butter lemon, not many people can pull off butter lemon.
[27:01] You can.
[27:02] And really, really dark skin, like black African skin looks so insane with butter.
[27:06] Butter lemon.
[27:06] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[27:07] Yellow.
[27:07] That's true.
[27:08] And you, but anyone in between, no.
[27:10] It's a no.
[27:10] You need to wear more of that.
[27:12] And a light blue because it brings out your eyes.
[27:14] I think for me, it's just like I've always used to wear color when you and I first started hanging out.
[27:17] I was always in color in my 20s.
[27:19] And then…
[27:20] I think as I get older and my kids are just more, you know, taking up my mental space.
[27:27] My ADHD has just gone to another level where I've just like, I've got no capacity in my brain to think what color or mood I'm in.
[27:34] I just, so I just go to, I just go straight to black.
[27:36] Black's easy.
[27:36] Black or plain white.
[27:38] I can't even wear white.
[27:39] It's too colorish.
[27:40] It's just too much color.
[27:41] So I think for me, that's just, I think my, it's.
[27:44] my brain capacity is just, even I'll wear the same thing.
[27:46] So I'll buy three pairs of pants, the same color, the same style.
[27:51] Yeah.
[27:51] Because I'm like, I'm going to wear them today and then tomorrow I'm going to wear another pair but they're not going to be washed in time.
[27:56] Yeah, they'll be dirty.
[27:57] So I'm just like, oh, I'm such a drain.
[27:59] What did you wish you'd packed more black?
[28:02] No, I just wish I packed less.
[28:03] Yeah.
[28:04] Yeah.
[28:05] Because everywhere we had in the hotel had washing machines.
[28:07] So we just did our washing.
[28:09] Yeah.
[28:09] And it's so cheap to actually outsource someone washing it for you.
[28:12] Yeah.
[28:13] So, yeah.
[28:13] Oh, that's pure luxury.
[28:15] I was at the bloody washing machine at the Laundry Huts in Broome every day.
[28:18] Every day, yeah.
[28:18] Doing all the washing.
[28:19] Yeah.
[28:19] So that was like, I just wish I packed less.
[28:22] Do you know what I did that was really niche and weird?
[28:25] I packed the entire kit from the Mick Fanning Charity Golf Day so I could wear it when I played golf in Broome.
[28:30] Oh, my God, so, yes.
[28:31] What the hell?
[28:32] My husband's like, why did you pack all of that?
[28:34] I'm like, to play golf.
[28:35] You're probably going to play golf once.
[28:37] We played it three times last time.
[28:40] Four tennis rackets, 50 tennis balls.
[28:43] I moved my whole life to Broome.
[28:46] That's the one thing I have to say last year when we went to Broome.
[28:50] Beck and Chris on this fucking wellness journey while I'm sitting watching them playing tennis and in the gym.
[28:56] And I'm sitting there just like this fat bitch just drinking like he's at like 11 o'clock in the morning, like looking, fully judging you two going, oh, you guys, you guys do your wellness journey.
[29:06] You enjoy that.
[29:07] I don't feel bad.
[29:08] So felt bad and guilty sitting there.
[29:10] You did come for a run once, one day on a treadmill and the only sneakers you had were my golden gooses.
[29:14] Yes.
[29:15] Remember?
[29:15] Yes.
[29:16] And Oscar was judging me because he was on the tready next week.
[29:19] I think you ran, you're like, I'll do three and a half Ks.
[29:21] I think you did one K and then you died.
[29:22] Died, died.
[29:23] I'm like, golden goose is a nit, babe.
[29:25] You need like some ons or some hockers, something bouncy.
[29:29] Well, you should have seen me on my, I went on the treadmill when I was in Vietnam.
[29:34] I was, I ran 20 minutes in Giacomo's.
[29:37] Chocomus, the Nikes.
[29:38] Nike brothers.
[29:39] They're good.
[29:39] They're like wearing nothing.
[29:40] Nothing.
[29:42] I wore them and I literally ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes at level 10.
[29:46] Val sat there in a vid looking at it going, are you nuts?
[29:50] Who does this?
[29:50] And I was like, totally doping, guys.
[29:52] I've had my ADHD medication.
[29:54] I'm hyper fixated in making sure I get to 20 minutes and I can't go down.
[29:58] No, but I just, yeah, you guys were on this wellness journey.
[30:02] And I was like...
[30:04] Give me a muggy.
[30:05] Give me a muggy.
[30:06] I rolled out.
[30:06] You guys fucking spread it out.
[30:17] We reunited in Threadbow last week.
[30:19] It was so good.
[30:20] It was so good.
[30:21] Like our hotel room chats before we fall asleep at night are the most unhinged, best girl moments ever.
[30:28] Like honestly, we talk about it all.
[30:32] We do it all with ghosts.
[30:34] Oh my God.
[30:35] The shit that comes out of our mouth.
[30:37] If there was a GoPro or a camera in our room.
[30:40] We'd be cancelled in jail.
[30:43] Or they'd think we're crazy.
[30:46] Yeah, we'd be burned at the stake as witches.
[30:48] So funny.
[30:48] I think they actually think, I think we won't be in jail, but I think they'll be like, these girls are crazy.
[30:55] Yeah, it'd be a really good R-rated Unhinged podcast.
[30:58] I know.
[30:58] Actually, it would rate really well.
[31:00] Uncut.
[31:01] Jess and Beck Uncut.
[31:02] Who packs better?
[31:02] Well, not me.
[31:03] I had 30 kilos of nothing.
[31:04] Remember, I had nothing to wear.
[31:06] You're like, why are you wearing tracksuit pants and sneakers out to a Range Rover bougie dinner?
[31:11] I'm like, I don't know.
[31:12] I've got 30 kilos of nothing to wear.
[31:14] Oh, no.
[31:15] For me, I didn't pack like...
[31:18] My essentials, like my gloves.
[31:19] Yeah.
[31:20] Like the gloves that you wear inside your proper gloves.
[31:23] I didn't pack that.
[31:23] I didn't pack my ski socks, like snow socks.
[31:27] I had to use Beck's.
[31:29] I thought for a moment I didn't pack any knickers, but they were stuffed in like a little area of my suitcase.
[31:33] In a safe spot.
[31:34] Then you forget where you put them.
[31:36] Yeah.
[31:36] Okay.
[31:36] Who fell over?
[31:37] Not you.
[31:38] Beck fell over, which is never.
[31:40] Why did I fall over?
[31:41] So I was- What was I doing?
[31:42] I was having a meltdown on the lift.
[31:44] Yeah.
[31:44] Like having a proper mount down, like a child.
[31:46] I've never seen you do this before.
[31:47] You were like a little toddler.
[31:48] Like, I don't want to go on, mommy, mommy, mommy.
[31:50] Yeah.
[31:51] Stop, I'm not going.
[31:52] I'm like, you're fucking getting on this lift.
[31:53] She pushed me.
[31:54] I got behind her so she couldn't escape.
[31:56] Oh, my gosh.
[31:56] I knew she didn't have the technique or skills to be able to reverse out, backwards ski down a mountain.
[32:00] So I knew I had her locked and loaded.
[32:02] All I had to do was push her, slide her forward onto the chairlift.
[32:05] But mate, if you didn't have skis on, you would have bolted.
[32:08] You would have bolted out of there.
[32:10] Oh, yeah, 100%.
[32:10] But it was because you had the skis on, you couldn't.
[32:12] And there was also a bunch of kids behind me.
[32:14] I was like, I've got to camp back out when there's like two-year-olds behind me.
[32:17] I don't have a good feeling about this.
[32:18] I'm like, you're Jess Roberts.
[32:19] You do everything.
[32:20] I know.
[32:21] You have a crack at everything in life.
[32:23] I know.
[32:23] You're doing the go-karting.
[32:25] I wouldn't have done that.
[32:25] You're doing the funny coconut little ride in the gross water.
[32:29] I wouldn't have done that.
[32:30] Like, you're the one who takes the risks and does the fun stuff.
[32:33] I know.
[32:33] And you were having a full weird moment that wasn't you.
[32:35] I think for me, it was like just having like the accident on the go-kart.
[32:39] But then...
[32:39] Yeah, you were like, I'm still sore.
[32:40] I'm still this.
[32:41] I'm like, you are self-sabotaging.
[32:44] No, but I also broke my coccyx bone on the mountain.
[32:46] And you still had a sore knee.
[32:47] No, my knee's flaring up from that.
[32:49] Yeah, my knee was flaring up and I'm literally just kind of going onto it, going, I don't know Threadbow Mountain well.
[32:55] Like, get me on Buller.
[32:57] I will go down every single run.
[32:58] Same.
[32:59] in Buller.
[32:59] Yeah, Threadbow's a bit weak.
[33:01] It's not our mountain.
[33:02] No.
[33:02] And there wasn't a lot of snow.
[33:03] It was very arsy.
[33:04] It was very arsy.
[33:06] So I just, and there's lots of twists and turns and stuff and I was just not confident.
[33:10] Anyway, I got her on there.
[33:11] I got her on there.
[33:11] Yeah, visual wasn't great.
[33:13] Nah, vision.
[33:14] But the thing is, Beck fell.
[33:16] So I'm having a meltdown, not wanting to go up on the mountain.
[33:19] I was fucking cold.
[33:20] I didn't have the right gloves on.
[33:23] Anyway, I get onto the lift as Beck pushed me and actually pretty much grabbed me and picked me up and put me onto the lift, on the chairlift.
[33:31] We get there and I'm trying to like fix up my gloves, my inner gloves to wear my protective gloves.
[33:36] And it fell off.
[33:38] onto, like off the lift, onto literally the snow underneath.
[33:42] Like the big glove, like the glove that stops you from getting frostbite.
[33:46] Yeah.
[33:46] So then I was like, great, this is going down south very quickly.
[33:50] And I was like, well, this was already started really bad and now she's dropped her glove.
[33:53] I'm like, well, we are not good.
[33:55] I'm like, it's all right, I'll go get it.
[33:56] I'll ski and get it.
[33:57] It's okay.
[33:58] Don't worry.
[33:58] We'll just get down this one run.
[34:00] I'll go get your gloves for you.
[34:01] It's okay.
[34:02] I was just trying to like, it was like being with a five-year-old.
[34:05] Yeah.
[34:05] Yeah, literally.
[34:07] So we get to the bottom of the run.
[34:08] It's a green run, mind you.
[34:10] Also, I ski.
[34:11] I've skied a lot.
[34:12] I couldn't even tell you the last time I fell over at the snow.
[34:14] Maybe when I was learning, like, I don't know.
[34:16] Yeah.
[34:17] Ten years ago, I don't fall, right?
[34:19] I don't fall on hard runs, let alone green runs.
[34:21] So I veer off.
[34:23] I'm like, I'll go get it for you.
[34:24] And I go around this corner.
[34:27] I veer off and there's these two little pile, like little kind of lumps of snow.
[34:31] And I thought I'd just ski through them.
[34:32] Yeah.
[34:34] I hit the piles of snow that I thought was snow and they were actually little mini icebergs.
[34:39] No, they weren't mini.
[34:40] One of them was huge.
[34:41] Yeah, like full ice blocks.
[34:43] I'm telling you, like a proper massive ice block.
[34:48] And I skied, I thought I was skiing through it because it had like soft snow on top of it.
[34:52] But it was an ice block underneath.
[34:53] So I hit that and then I went A over T, landed, flipped through the air, landed on the back of my head first, backwards and slid a little bit down.
[35:03] I had full whiplash.
[35:04] I just heard my neck go crack, crack, crack.
[35:07] Probably cracked my neck back into where it needed to be.
[35:09] But I was kind of like, how did that even happen?
[35:11] Like, what the hell?
[35:12] What did I hit?
[35:13] And then I looked at this massive ice block.
[35:15] Yeah.
[35:16] It was crazy.
[35:17] And it just actually goes to show like even when you're on a green run and you're an experienced skier and you know what you're doing, Mother Nature and the universe has a way.
[35:25] Like when you get cocky on the snow, like I never fall over.
[35:27] I'm fine.
[35:28] I'll just go and do this.
[35:29] Has a way of bringing you back down to earth and going, you have to be so careful no matter the conditions.
[35:34] When you're out on a mountain, it's high risk.
[35:36] Oh, it is.
[35:37] Even on a green run.
[35:38] So it was me who fell over, not Jess.
[35:40] She was shitting it all day.
[35:41] She's going to fall.
[35:41] I was so shitting myself.
[35:42] There I am, wiped out.
[35:44] I was like, whoa.
[35:45] It was a big fall.
[35:46] I think for me, it's just like with skiing and stuff, I've never done a lesson.
[35:50] I've just gone from a snowboard to skis.
[35:52] Mm.
[35:53] And Snowboy, I've done this.
[35:54] You're doing pretty good.
[35:55] Your form was good.
[35:56] Yeah, but I feel like I can be better if I had a lesson.
[35:58] Yeah.
[35:59] I don't know.
[35:59] I just didn't feel comfortable or right.
[36:02] Yeah, you were full self-sabotaging.
[36:05] But then I did it again.
[36:05] Thinking of all the bad things.
[36:06] Then he came up again.
[36:07] We rewrote your narrative.
[36:08] You were really, really good.
[36:09] Would we do it again?
[36:10] Shit, yeah.
[36:11] I'm going to do it next year.
[36:11] But what I was... We were talking about this a couple of days ago.
[36:14] Yeah.
[36:15] It's such a – getting to the snow and taking all your own gear because we've got all our own equipment is a lot – like it's quite an effort, right?
[36:23] So we flew into Canberra, then you drive the three hours up to the mountain and it's kind of – it's a bit short.
[36:28] So next year I want to do it, but then I'm just going to extend for a few days, maybe get the kids to come and then maybe make like an actual like long –
[36:36] long week of it because it's too short.
[36:39] Like you go there, you go to all that effort and then you're driving back down the mountain before you know it.
[36:43] Yeah.
[36:43] I felt like it needed another couple of days.
[36:46] You're giving me a funny look like don't bring the kids.
[36:48] Okay, you and I will extend for a few days and not invite the kids.
[36:51] I'm sorry.
[36:51] I'm sorry.
[36:53] Taking the kids, I can take my older ones, but like the meltdowns that they have about like I'm cold.
[37:01] But they're older now.
[37:02] You haven't been skiing with them for a few years.
[37:03] They're older now.
[37:04] Tom Dice will be fine in that cold.
[37:07] I was going to give them to Val.
[37:09] that was the positive he'd love it he'd actually be a Disney dad I wasn't going to be dressing them it's the dressing of them it's the worst well you were having a freaking meltdown you were melting down my boobs I need to go outside I don't know I think I'm
[37:28] I feel like the kids would have to walk Threadbow first, like walk the mountain sea because the tracks are weird.
[37:35] You can cross over like from green to black like pretty quickly.
[37:40] Like, you know, I feel like the mapping... You can end up on a black run very easily.
[37:44] And that's the mappings really, like, really, like, different.
[37:47] And I feel like that's where I was freaking out was just the mapping.
[37:50] I'm like, I'm going to... You weren't trusting me.
[37:52] Oh, man.
[37:53] Anyway.
[37:53] You were like, she's going to take me on a black run.
[37:54] Yeah, yeah.
[37:55] Anyway, I did it.
[37:56] I was fun.
[37:57] You survived.
[37:58] I did it for Beckfell, saving my glove.
[38:00] And yeah.
[38:01] Do it again next year.
[38:02] Do it again next year.
[38:05] So Jess, before we go, let's slide into our vanish DMs.
[38:10] We've got this from Lucy.
[38:11] Hi, Beck and Jessie.
[38:13] My name's Lucy and I just wanted to say that I love the show.
[38:16] You two just crack me up with how relatable you are and I love how transparent you are about how it takes work to wake up looking as good as you two do.
[38:24] I was hoping to hear about what hair extensions you've tried and tested.
[38:28] I've been wanting to get some myself, but I am, one, so worried about damaging my hair and, two, cannot get my head around how to get the most natural-looking ones and making sure you can't see them.
[38:38] But I'm not even sure where to start.
[38:41] Oh, wow.
[38:42] So, yeah, no, we've tried it all, haven't we, Becca?
[38:44] We've tried tapes, wefts, clip-ins.
[38:48] You name it.
[38:48] Oh, you name it.
[38:49] So listen out tomorrow because we have got someone coming on talking about a, it's been around for a while, but it's all coming back in again and all the pop stars have it.
[38:59] It's called Keratin Bonds.
[39:01] Yes, and we're going to get them live in studio with Kirby Largo.
[39:06] She's actually doing keratin bombs.
[39:07] I know.
[39:08] In our hair.
[39:08] How good.
[39:09] Yeah.
[39:09] While we're recording.
[39:10] So good.
[39:11] Listen tomorrow.
[39:12] Bye for now.
[39:14] Bye.
