Send us Fan Mail Jo Peterson explores why hybrid integration is now the foundation of full-stack automation — and how a unified platform helps IT leaders manage complexity, connect data across environments, and scale AI initiatives securely. Featuring insights on IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration. Episode Description Today’s enterprise runs everywhere — cloud, on-prem, SaaS, and edge. The real challenge isn’t connecting systems; it’s keeping control, visibility, and governance while doing it. In this special edition of ClearTech Loop, Jo Peterson unpacks: • What hybrid integration really means in practice • Why a unified integration platform is essential for automation at scale • How AI depends on hybrid integration for real-time, trusted data • Where IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration fits into the modern enterprise tech stack Want to learn more about how hybrid integration supports resilient, AI-driven automation? [0:07] SPEAKER_00: Hey, thanks so much for joining.
[0:09] SPEAKER_00: I'm Joe Peterson.
[0:10] SPEAKER_00: I'm the Vice President of Cloud Security and AI Solutions for Clarify 360.
[0:15] SPEAKER_00: I'm the chief analyst at Clear Tech Research, and I am working with my fellow analyst and friend Dave Linthicum of Linthicum Research.
[0:23] SPEAKER_00: We're going to be exploring the concept of full stack automation, especially in the era of AI.
[0:30] SPEAKER_00: And we've joined forces with our friends at IBM.
[0:33] SPEAKER_00: This is the second in the series of videos.
[0:36] SPEAKER_00: And we're directly speaking to IT leaders, engineers, enterprise architects, and their teams.
[0:43] SPEAKER_00: And we're going to be talking about web methods hybrid integration.
[0:48] SPEAKER_00: So here's the thing: most enterprises operate a hybrid IT environment.
[0:53] SPEAKER_00: Y'all know that, with a mix of legacy and on-premise systems, private clouds, multiple public clouds.
[1:01] SPEAKER_00: In talking to people, both Dave and I realized that customers need a solution that can manage all these components cohesively.
[1:11] SPEAKER_00: We touched in a previous video on the importance of a single control plane.
[1:16] SPEAKER_00: So companies often have siloed integration consoles for APIs, B2B, on-premise applications, you name it.
[1:24] SPEAKER_00: By integrating web methods, IBM created this single centralized control plane for management and governance.
[1:33] SPEAKER_00: Yep.
[1:34] SPEAKER_00: Think about that a minute.
[1:36] SPEAKER_00: Every organization I talk to is figuring out exactly how AI is going to fit in.
[1:43] SPEAKER_00: And the fact is that the biggest barrier to AI adoption in the enterprise is not the AI models themselves, but kind of the complexity of integrating them with existing business processes.
[1:56] SPEAKER_00: So the Web Methods Hybrid Integration iPaaS provides the essential connectivity and automation capabilities that really transform an agentic AI from this kind of isolated tool into this enterprise doer.
[2:12] SPEAKER_00: The platform serves as a central nervous system.
[2:16] SPEAKER_00: It connects AI agents to a vast network of data, APIs, applications, everything within a hybrid IT environment.
[2:26] SPEAKER_00: And the story for customers centers on how Web Methods turns agentic AI from this kind of conversational technology into a powerful driver of business outcomes by providing it with the ability to reason, plan, and act across the entire enterprise.
[2:46] SPEAKER_00: So how does it actually help solve some of the integration problems that Dave and I are seeing out there today?
[2:55] SPEAKER_00: It helps in a couple of ways.
[2:57] SPEAKER_00: You get access to core enterprise systems via API connectivity.
[3:02] SPEAKER_00: So think about things like your CRM, your ERP, your inventory.
[3:07] SPEAKER_00: You get context-aware action.
[3:10] SPEAKER_00: So by integrating and normalizing data from multiple sources, WebMethods gives the agents a complete real-time picture.
[3:19] SPEAKER_00: For instance, an operations agent can monitor real-time inventory, they can cross-reference demand, and they can automatically replace restock orders.
[3:30] SPEAKER_00: It provides intelligent workflow orchestration.
[3:33] SPEAKER_00: What do I mean by that?
[3:35] SPEAKER_00: Well, WebMethods moves beyond simple API calls to enable multi-step intelligent workflows.
[3:42] SPEAKER_00: So an agent can initiate a complex process such as automatically creating a new case, assigning a support team, and triggering notifications across different applications, all from one natural language prompt.
[3:58] SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about security and governance for a minute, one of my favorite topics.
[4:02] SPEAKER_00: As agents gain more autonomy, robust governance is really critical.
[4:07] SPEAKER_00: Web Methods provides a standardized framework for governing interactions, and it ensures that AI actions adhere to enterprise policies and that audit trails are maintained.
[4:20] SPEAKER_00: That sounds pretty cool to me.
[4:23] SPEAKER_00: So if you want to learn more about this evolution and what challenges web methods hybrid integration can solve for you and your team, click on the link that I've got in the comments below.
[4:35] SPEAKER_00: And thank you so much for joining.
