[0:00] Hi guys, and welcome back to After Mass.
[0:02] Today I am sitting down with Adrian from Sips with Sarah,
[0:05] someone whose story isn't just about conversion, but about
[0:09] conviction. Everything I've seen about this
[0:11] guy, he just oozes conviction. Adrian went from foster care to
[0:16] Protestantism, to atheism and then Lutherism, Lutheranism, and
[0:21] then finally came home to the Catholic Church.
[0:24] So welcome to After Mass. Thank you so much for being
[0:26] here. I would love to start with, you
[0:30] know, if someone hasn't heard of you before, who you were before
[0:32] the Catholic Church and how God kind of brought you home.
[0:35] So I'll let you take the floor. Well, yeah, thank you so much
[0:38] for having me. Yeah.
[0:39] So before the Catholic Church. I think you, you gave a really
[0:42] good summary there. I was raised non denominational,
[0:45] became an atheist in my teen years, very original, I know,
[0:49] and came back to non denominationalism eventually in
[0:53] my early 20s. Learned about early church
[0:55] history through Gavin Orland of all people and was like, I think
[0:59] Catholicism is the original church.
[1:00] My family scared me out of it, became Lutheran, all that good
[1:03] stuff. So before the Catholic Church,
[1:06] especially before even being a Protestant, I was basically just
[1:10] your average degenerate guy. Not, not the best example of
[1:14] virtue at all, but man, yeah. Since, you know, even coming
[1:18] back to Protestantism in, in the early days there in my early
[1:21] 20s, just really growing in understanding that life isn't
[1:24] about satisfying my desires. It's about giving up my my wants
[1:29] for others and especially as a living sacrifice to Jesus
[1:33] Christ. And that just deepened as I be,
[1:35] as I became Catholic, my understanding of my role in my
[1:38] day-to-day life, my understanding of how to grow
[1:41] spiritually has deepened. So since becoming Catholic,
[1:44] especially through prayer devotions like the rosary, so
[1:47] that's basically on my channel. That's what I talk about why
[1:50] Catholicism is true. Some of the, I just had a video
[1:53] recently come out about all of these scientifically proven
[1:56] Marian apparitions and we go through the actual studies and
[1:59] read the primary sources and all that good stuff.
[2:00] So that's what goes on at my channel and I'm happy to be over
[2:03] here on yours. So hello everybody.
[2:06] Yeah, and just for everybody listening, he has a YouTube and
[2:10] on Instagram and the Patreon I believe I will link all of that
[2:14] down below. But I did see your video
[2:16] recently about all of the Marion operations and I haven't really
[2:19] seen, you know, I've seen a lot of videos on Marion operations
[2:22] here and there, but never such a concise video kind of going
[2:25] through all of them. So, you know, I'll link that
[2:26] video below too, so that way people can click it and just get
[2:29] right to it. Thank you.
[2:30] I want to go back to your childhood a little bit.
[2:33] I my due diligence as a journalist over here, I
[2:36] interviewing you. I did, you know, listen to a lot
[2:39] of other podcasts and interviews and things that you just have
[2:41] said over the years. So I wanted to ask that growing
[2:44] up with instability, but also with Protestant grandparents, I
[2:48] believe, who provided that kind of structure.
[2:50] Do you think that there was tension that shaped your later
[2:53] hunger for that kind of authority that you then landed
[2:56] on in Catholicism? Do you think that that kind of
[2:59] brought the hunger out, I guess? 100%, yeah.
[3:02] So I grew up, as you said, when I was, I was born and then a
[3:05] couple months later, I was basically in foster care at two
[3:08] months old. Luckily, I got picked up by a
[3:10] very beautiful Protestant family who are still in my life today.
[3:13] And they're, they're every time I talk about them, I get, I tear
[3:16] up. So I, I don't want to talk about
[3:17] them too much because this will be just me crying for the entire
[3:20] time. But they're, they're just
[3:21] wonderful people who provided that structure in my life, as
[3:23] you said. And the Catholic Church having
[3:26] even more structure, I think, did draw me to it because even
[3:28] within Protestantism, I was kind of feeling like, you know, OK,
[3:31] yeah, I go to church on Sundays. But the rest of the week, what
[3:34] am I supposed to be doing? What's like a standard prayer
[3:36] practice that we should all be doing?
[3:38] And some people might say, like the the Our Father in the
[3:40] morning, at night, you know, you might have your pastor write a
[3:43] devotional series that you buy and read through or something.
[3:46] But I really love that the Catholic Church provided the
[3:48] structure of pretty much, you know, not everybody, but I think
[3:51] everybody should. But a lot of people, a lot of
[3:53] Catholics, especially very serious Catholics, pray the
[3:56] rosary every day. And so, wow, there's a practice
[3:58] that unites millions, probably hundreds of millions of
[4:02] Catholics all around the world. That's beautiful.
[4:04] And that's a daily structural thing that you can do.
[4:06] And so. Yeah.
[4:07] And then, you know, growing up early on in my childhood, I
[4:09] didn't have my father there. Now we have a wonderful
[4:11] relationship. Thank God, everything is great.
[4:13] So yeah, he he's a great guy now.
[4:15] But that structure, I think kind of attracted me for that reason
[4:19] as well, because there wasn't really ever a strong authority
[4:22] figure in my life, at least not a consistent 1.
[4:24] So I think the Catholic Church was very attractive for all of
[4:28] those reasons, and probably many more than I'm forgetting.
[4:30] No, that's that's so interesting.
[4:32] So I was adopted. I was adopted when I was seven
[4:35] days old and I get asked frequently if I ever had any
[4:41] issues with kind of feeling left out or feeling like I belonged
[4:45] with my family. And I never experienced any of
[4:48] those feelings of not belonging or not, you know, like I
[4:52] shouldn't have been a part of my family or I look different or I
[4:55] sound none of that. So for you, you know, did it,
[4:58] did you ever kind of fight with that, that understanding of
[5:02] belonging and then later the idea of church as a family, did
[5:05] that kind of come full circle? Because I know for me, I've
[5:09] always felt like I belonged with my family.
[5:11] But now that I'm a practicing and, you know, Catholic, I, you
[5:15] know, it's this like this communal body of Christ feeling
[5:19] that I get that I never had before.
[5:21] So I don't think it was missing from my family per SE, but more
[5:24] so from my heart. Do you, you know, do you have
[5:26] any experience with that or do does that resonate at all?
[5:30] Yeah, definitely. I mean, I always felt at home
[5:32] with my my foster parents, who I call my grandparents, but I did
[5:36] kind of bounce around households quite a bit as a child.
[5:39] And, you know, so I was with my foster parents and I went back
[5:42] with my mom after I believe a year or so.
[5:44] And then I was with her. But we would kind of move around
[5:48] a lot and, you know, unstable relationships in her life and
[5:51] things like that. So, you know, then from her I
[5:53] went moved with my dad in my early teens and that was like
[5:57] the probably one of the more stable eras of my life, I guess
[6:00] of my childhood at least. And so that was good.
[6:03] But yeah, that did often leave me kind of feeling like I never
[6:06] really got to settle in to a family or to a you know, I
[6:10] always felt like I was kind of being introduced into something
[6:12] new, which was unfortunate for me.
[6:14] But yeah, actually, it's funny. The when I was entering the
[6:16] Catholic Church, I think there was some ceremony, I forget all
[6:19] of the ceremonies that's not coming to mind right now, but it
[6:22] right of welcoming the. Right of election.
[6:24] Maybe it was kind of like they ask you what do you ask of the
[6:27] church and you're supposed to say faith.
[6:29] But I think my church kind of let us kind of freestyle it a
[6:32] little bit. And what I said was, I want to
[6:34] be part of the family of, you know, I want to be part of the
[6:38] family of the Catholic Church. I want to be part of this family
[6:41] because it does feel that way. Early on, when I was, I was
[6:44] still a Lutheran but inquiring into Catholicism a little bit, I
[6:47] went on a trip with some family to Costa Rica just for a little
[6:50] vacation. And it was during the time of
[6:52] Lent. And every yard had a cross with
[6:55] a purple fabric on it, and there were statues of Mary everywhere.
[6:58] It's a very beautifully Catholic country in a lot of ways.
[7:01] And it just felt like, oh, everybody here is kind of on the
[7:05] same wavelength because of their faith.
[7:07] And as a Lutheran at the time, I'm not even in the same
[7:09] wavelength with most of other Lutheran churches in the same
[7:13] denomination of Lutheranism that I was in.
[7:15] So it was it just felt like, yeah, this is much more cohesive
[7:18] and people are much more part of a family.
[7:19] You can go to pretty much any Catholic, especially if they're
[7:22] devout enough to be having a cross in their yard with, with a
[7:25] purple robe over it and go up to them and ask them, you know,
[7:28] what's what's the hell Mary? What's the Nicene Creed?
[7:30] What's the Apostles Creed? And you're united in the
[7:33] knowledge of all of these things, which I think is very
[7:35] beautiful, something that kind of filled a void that I had in
[7:38] my life for a long time. Yeah, yeah, I, I can, I can
[7:41] totally understand and see how that would kind of fill a void
[7:44] that maybe you didn't even know you had.
[7:46] So just for the sake of clarifying, so you when was it
[7:50] that you did convert to Catholicism?
[7:53] Was it you and your wife? Was it something that like, was
[7:55] there an event kind of, or was it just in your like research
[8:00] and hunger for, you know, maybe early church or early church
[8:03] fathers? What was it really?
[8:05] Yeah. Oh man, so my wife and I were
[8:07] married at this time. She was basically agnostic,
[8:10] maybe a deist at the at the most.
[8:12] And she had seen me go through, you know, we were together since
[8:15] I was an atheist. We were dating for a very long
[8:17] time since I was an atheist. And I told her at the time
[8:20] because I was very anti Christian, I said if I ever
[8:22] become Christian, leave me because I've lost my mind.
[8:26] And at this time I was like raising your child, raising your
[8:29] children Christian is is child abuse.
[8:30] Like it's all of this. It should be illegal.
[8:33] Like, I was crazy, and I'm still crazy, but in the opposite
[8:35] direction. Yeah.
[8:39] So then I become Christian and she's like, what is going on?
[8:42] She kind of just stayed out of things for a long time.
[8:44] She's like, you need to figure this out yourself.
[8:45] And then maybe I'll kind of hear you out, but you don't.
[8:48] You don't seem to understand things yourself right now.
[8:50] So when we got married, I was a Lutheran.
[8:53] And then what really started pulling me towards the Catholic
[8:55] Church was the Marian dogmas. The Catholic Church is teaching
[8:59] on Mary, especially like the four kind of Marian dogmas that
[9:02] we all kind of talk about. Mother of God, a perpetual
[9:04] virgin, Immaculate Conception and bodily assumption.
[9:07] Those as I was hearing more from the Catholic perspective, what
[9:10] the arguments were, they were making a lot of sense,
[9:12] especially scripturally. And I was going to the Deacon at
[9:15] my Lutheran Church at the time he was in training to be the
[9:17] pastor. And I was asking him questions
[9:19] and he would give me responses about like why he didn't believe
[9:22] in the Immaculate Conception and other Marian dogmas.
[9:24] But I was like these what you're telling me has already been
[9:27] responded to by Catholics very convincingly.
[9:30] So it's, it didn't seem like a lot of thought had gone into it.
[9:33] So I was disappointed by the Lutheran church's response to,
[9:37] to Mary essentially. And I had been praying the
[9:39] rosary at this time, even since I was a non denominational
[9:41] Christian, because they had brought me a lot of peace during
[9:44] especially 2020. I was having panic attacks as I
[9:46] think many people were having to like mental health issues being
[9:49] locked down and all. So yeah, the rosary was always a
[9:53] beautiful thing in my life that I kept coming back to, even if I
[9:56] had abandoned it for seasons. And so the the church's
[9:58] teachings on Mary just made so much sense.
[10:01] And we're so beautifully articulated by people like Tim
[10:04] Staples, Doctor Brant Petrie and Matt Frad, and I'm sure others
[10:09] that I'm blanking on right now who deserve recognition.
[10:12] But so Mary essentially was was what initially drew me into the
[10:15] Catholic Church. That's actually so interesting
[10:17] because that's, you know, and speaking with other people who
[10:20] are either in the process of converting or have converted,
[10:22] that Mary was, you know, the kind of the one pushback that
[10:26] they, you know, they kept. That was the one thing kind of,
[10:29] you know, not letting them fully, fully give in.
[10:32] So it's interesting that it was the opposite for you.
[10:36] I was thinking about just your earlier life and your childhood
[10:41] growing up and just you as your teenage self.
[10:43] If your teenage self met you now, what do you think would
[10:46] surprise him the most? Is it that you're a Christian or
[10:49] is it that you're like this fully Catholic husband and dad
[10:53] and online? Like what would be the thing
[10:55] that would surprise your previous self the most?
[10:57] The most I'm not sure. I think all of it would be a lot
[11:00] to take in for a teenage me. Yeah, because I back then I was
[11:04] like, you know what? I'm never having kids.
[11:06] I'm never going to get married. Religion's dumb.
[11:09] Should be illegal. Do you think you were like this
[11:15] kind of rebellious argumentative, you know, this
[11:19] attitude that you had towards all of these things?
[11:21] Do you think that that was pride or like hunger for truth or both
[11:26] or just, I don't know, like it's just, it's such a, such a
[11:31] difference from that. And it's not like it's been 50
[11:33] years, you know, it's this was relatively, you know, so I just,
[11:38] I just wonder like what, what was driving all that?
[11:40] I think it was a hunger for truth that was often misguided
[11:44] by pride. I always felt that if something
[11:48] was mainstream or was like the broadly accepted narrative,
[11:53] there's no way that could be true because too many people
[11:55] believe that. So therefore it has to be this
[11:57] actual secret conspiracy thing that only I know about and a
[12:00] small group of people because we're just so much smarter than
[12:02] everybody else. That's kind of how I approach
[12:05] things often times. But I did have AI think.
[12:08] Hopefully, looking back, I can see I had a healthy appreciation
[12:11] for evidence. And in fact, when I was in the
[12:13] process of really discovering that, oh, this Jesus, this guy
[12:17] is actually legit, it was because I was watching videos
[12:20] about the evidence for the resurrection and the videos that
[12:23] helped me the most. There were a lot of great videos
[12:25] out there, but I think the videos that really, really left
[12:27] the mark on me were by inspiring philosophy.
[12:29] He has playlists on evidence for the resurrection, the
[12:32] reliability of the New Testament going into, you know, why the
[12:36] belief that Jesus was like this mythical person is just
[12:40] nonsensical. And even more, the truth of the
[12:43] resurrection is the best explanation for the evidence we
[12:45] have. So I had a healthy appreciation
[12:48] for evidence at that time. And even just seeing like, oh,
[12:50] Christians actually believe in this stuff because of evidential
[12:53] reasons. Even if that doesn't convince me
[12:54] now, that at least helps me respect them a bit more.
[12:57] I thought everybody just went based off of feelings or
[12:58] something. So I think I had a lot of pride,
[13:01] but there was just a little bit a little bit of wiggle room in
[13:05] there that allowed me to appreciate the evidence enough
[13:07] to eventually convert. Thank God.
[13:10] Well, and that that wiggle room really pushed down hard on you
[13:13] and and became a lot. Did you at that?
[13:16] I'm look into like transubstantiation and
[13:19] Eucharistic miracles. Did you have any issues with
[13:22] that? Because if you're coming from a
[13:23] non denom kind of background and then even atheist and Luther,
[13:27] did you have any pushback with that or did you look into that
[13:29] and have issues with it? So I hadn't heard about the
[13:33] Eucharistic miracle until I was a Lutheran.
[13:36] But as a non denominational Christian, I was learning about
[13:40] just early church perspectives on the Eucharist.
[13:42] So, you know, learning that what my church believes about the
[13:45] Eucharist isn't what anybody has believed about the Eucharist for
[13:47] the entirety of Christendom. And that's kind of a problem.
[13:50] But then becoming a Lutheran and learning about the Eucharistic
[13:53] miracles, it was like, OK, well, I believe that.
[13:56] I believe in the real Presence. I'm a Lutheran and I believe
[13:58] that we have the real Presence, but we're not having any
[14:00] Eucharistic miracles. Why is that?
[14:02] And so my past at the time basically, and he's a great guy,
[14:06] so I don't mean to like make him sound bad because he's actually
[14:08] a wonderful guy. But he basically said, you know,
[14:11] well, God can work miracles anywhere he pleases.
[14:13] So we don't expect miracles to only happen within the Lutheran
[14:15] Church, which is very reasonable.
[14:16] But he said, and also it could be demons, could be, we don't
[14:19] know. And I was like, OK, well, that
[14:20] doesn't really make sense. But yeah.
[14:23] So then I learned about, you know, Apostolic succession and
[14:25] what it takes to actually institute a valid Eucharist and
[14:27] what the early church perspectives on that were and
[14:29] all that. So I was like, it seems like
[14:31] these Catholics are claiming to have the true Eucharist, and
[14:35] they're claiming we don't have the true Eucharist, and that
[14:37] seems to be backed up by these Eucharistic miracles.
[14:39] So I'm gonna go and get the real thing.
[14:42] Yeah, yeah. No, that's awesome.
[14:44] Yeah, I remember truthfully just put out that video about the
[14:47] Eucharistic miracles a little while ago.
[14:49] And I mean, I've believed in the true presence as far as I can
[14:53] remember. And I watched that video
[14:55] probably three times just it's still.
[14:58] So it's such an amazing miracle that we witness every single
[15:01] time that we're at Mass that it's, I just can't get enough of
[15:03] it. So I'm particularly fond of the
[15:05] Eucharistic miracles. Shifting gears a little bit, I
[15:08] want to know how you know that guy from back then?
[15:12] I started posting online, like how did you become this?
[15:14] I mean, you have a really booming YouTube channel, your
[15:18] Instagram also as well. The content that you post is top
[15:22] notch. It's just I can't recommend it
[15:23] enough to people. So how did you get started in
[15:26] that and why? Oh, that's really nice.
[15:28] That's really nice of you, especially from Anna Munley.
[15:30] What? That's crazy.
[15:32] Thank you so much. Me in.
[15:34] My room. That's awesome.
[15:37] Yeah. So I was actually, I was posting
[15:40] as a Lutheran on TikTok and I was trying to defend Lutheranism
[15:45] because I was like, look, all of you know, there was so many
[15:48] things that I felt we're really lacking from my non
[15:51] denominational experience and Lutheranism just offered it was
[15:57] just such a great alternative because it was the Sacramento
[15:59] theology. Even though I, I realized their
[16:01] Sacramento theology is a lot different from ours, but it was
[16:03] at least this teaching that there's some, there's an
[16:06] objective way to encounter God. And my belief was always that I
[16:09] encounter God or I know I've encountered God.
[16:11] If I have some kind of a deep experience, if I have some kind
[16:13] of, you know, feeling that makes me kind of cry or something,
[16:16] then I've encountered God. And so going from that to
[16:19] Sacramento theology, no, actually when you receive the
[16:22] Eucharist, you've encountered God, whether you feel something
[16:24] or not. I thought that was such a
[16:25] beautiful transition, such a beautiful way of looking at
[16:27] things. So I was trying to defend
[16:29] Lutheranism against non denominationalism, more modern
[16:31] forms of Christianity. And so I, I got some experience
[16:35] that way. Those videos are horrible.
[16:36] I've done a video responding to those because I made some
[16:39] against Catholicism, against the papacy and all that.
[16:42] And so I've gone back in like refuted myself from years ago,
[16:45] which is really fun. But yeah, so I've, I've kind of
[16:48] had experience with that. And then at that same time I was
[16:50] doing PowerPoint presentations to go and present to my
[16:53] grandparents like, hey, this is what This is why we believe in
[16:56] the real presence. This is why we believe that
[16:57] baptism actually saves you. This is why we baptize infants,
[17:00] like trying to present church history and scripture to them
[17:03] them through PowerPoint presentations.
[17:04] I was like, I just love doing this.
[17:05] This is so fun. Like what else?
[17:07] What else could you talk about that's more important than the
[17:11] faith? Like if this stuff is true, it's
[17:12] the most important thing in the world.
[17:13] So that's like occupied my mind, most of my mind for the last
[17:17] like however long I've been a Christian now.
[17:19] Yeah, yeah, No, it's interesting because I get asked kind of the
[17:23] same question just like, why did you start posting online?
[17:26] It's like because I couldn't contain it.
[17:28] I couldn't contain my faith. Like it's it's the simplest
[17:32] answer, but it's the most honest answer.
[17:36] And I just always feel like when I talked about it this morning,
[17:39] actually with Austin from Think Catholic, we actually do a Bible
[17:42] study, but I was just we were discussing how your interior
[17:46] prayer life when it's just overflowing.
[17:49] And that's what that you see online is just that overflow of
[17:53] like, I cannot contain this kind of peace and knowledge and and
[17:57] joy and all of these wonderful things that aren't, you know,
[18:00] through my own because I'm so great or I'm so anything, but
[18:03] I've got to tell people because they need to know about this.
[18:07] So I was just curious how kind of you started.
[18:10] So I wanted to ask if you how do you like?
[18:14] So you've been Protestant and atheist, you know, Luther
[18:17] Lutheran. Lutheran.
[18:19] Jeez, how do you, like, guard your heart against pride when
[18:25] I'm sure you've seen it? The algorithm and all of these
[18:28] things, they reward this kind of boldness.
[18:30] And for us, it's speak truth, you know, with charity, with
[18:34] love, in kindness. So how do you guard your heart
[18:37] against against that? Or have you not really struggled
[18:40] with that? Well, to my shame, I've
[18:42] struggled with that a lot actually, especially recently.
[18:44] And when I go on X and I see people just bashing Mary and
[18:49] I've seen people, you know, throwing Mary statues in the
[18:52] trash or destroying Mary statues.
[18:54] And these are people who claim to be Christians who are
[18:56] destroying images of the mother of God, which like just brings
[19:00] out rage in me sometimes, which is not healthy for me.
[19:02] Like it's not a, that's not a proper response.
[19:04] I think the proper response is prayer and, and to still love
[19:07] that person. But all of that aside, yeah, so
[19:10] I've struggled a lot. What I do is there's things I've
[19:13] like said things I've posted that I, I actually like, I go to
[19:15] confession and I'm like, yeah, that that was probably not good.
[19:19] And I think going to confession helps the rosary, the daily
[19:23] rosary is huge for me because you see examples of things like
[19:27] when Jesus Christ was flogged, you know, his hands shackled,
[19:31] flogged, bleeding profusely in the worst pain you could
[19:34] imagine, being mocked with a crown of thorns, being punched
[19:38] blindfolded and punched and asked who hit you.
[19:41] And his responses. Father, forgive them for they
[19:43] know not what they do. So meditating on these things
[19:45] regularly makes me realize like, hey, if Jesus Christ, if God in
[19:49] the flesh himself, was humiliated and disrespected in
[19:53] the worst possible ways and didn't seek revenge on those
[19:56] people, didn't seek to say something snarky to those
[19:59] people, but just sought their forgiveness, sought, sought what
[20:02] was best for them then. Who am I to take it upon myself
[20:05] to seek revenge for, you know, people who disrespect Mary when
[20:08] Mary herself wouldn't want that. So I that's, yeah, the rosary.
[20:14] Any, any good idea is is because of the rosary.
[20:16] Any and any bad I avoid doing is because of the rosary.
[20:18] Yeah, I think that's, that's a way better answer than, you
[20:22] know, for me, I actually confessed myself in confession
[20:27] and I was just, you know, how can someone disrespect our
[20:31] faith? And this isn't just a difference
[20:34] of theology or what have you, but the straight disrespect.
[20:37] That's so enraging to me. And I respond in that snarky,
[20:40] petty way. And I remember my the response I
[20:43] got was the church does not need you to defend her.
[20:46] She was here before you. She will be here long after you.
[20:49] So keep that in mind. And so I keep that in mind.
[20:51] But you're, you're, you know, how you described it is, it's,
[20:57] that's beautiful. It's a beautiful way to think
[20:58] about it, 'cause you're right. You know, Jesus Christ himself
[21:01] who had every right to, you know, to to be snarky or to, to
[21:06] say whatever and he did not so. Yeah.
[21:08] Then another thing is, is wow, I just blanked what I was going to
[21:12] say. Sorry, I'm running on very
[21:13] little sleep. No, it's.
[21:16] Oh, yeah. For everyone watching, please
[21:17] keep Adrian's family in. And I can take this out if you
[21:21] don't. I didn't know if you announced
[21:23] it or not so I can take this part out.
[21:25] But you know, for everybody watching, please keep Adrian and
[21:28] his family in your prayers as his wife recently gave birth and
[21:32] they have a a little baby boy, right?
[21:34] Yeah, Yeah, a little baby boy in the NICU.
[21:37] So yeah, just keep him and his family and their new addition in
[21:41] your prayers. But I'm sorry, go ahead, little
[21:43] sleep, but go ahead. No, that's OK.
[21:47] Wow. Yeah, I totally.
[21:49] And now I really got you. I remembered.
[21:51] I remembered I got it all right. So, yeah, I also try to remember
[21:54] when I see somebody who either, you know, disrespects the
[21:57] church, disrespects Mary, disrespects Jesus Christ, or
[22:00] just commit some kind of another unrelated sin that does
[22:03] disrespect God, obviously, but in maybe an indirect way, a
[22:05] sexual sin or some other sin that is being put on blast.
[22:08] I always try to remember that I've done stuff probably as bad
[22:13] as that in the opposite direction and probably worse
[22:15] than that. And if it wasn't for the grace
[22:17] of God, if it wasn't for the intercession of Mary, it would
[22:20] be probably much worse than these people are.
[22:21] So I always try to think about things as like, instead of
[22:25] thinking like, Oh yeah, well, what they're doing is sinful and
[22:28] I'm going to point at them and, and make them feel bad.
[22:31] I always say, how have I done something similar?
[22:34] And you know, how can I pray for my own sins to be forgiven, for
[22:37] that person's sins to be forgiven and try to have that
[22:39] attitude rather than this finger pointing that is very common on
[22:43] the Internet nowadays, unfortunately.
[22:45] And he's very much rewarded, too.
[22:47] It's very much rewarded. Yeah.
[22:48] I think having that mentality can really help.
[22:51] If you're posting online or even engaging online as someone
[22:54] commenting, you're watching content, you're not engaging in
[22:56] good faith. I mean, that's so bad for your
[22:58] soul. And I don't think a lot of us,
[23:00] and I mean, I can only speak for myself, but I lose sight of that
[23:03] sometimes. Speaking of Catholic social
[23:05] media, do you think that on the online world overemphasizes head
[23:09] knowledge and under emphasizes holiness?
[23:13] Yes, I made a video about this recently.
[23:15] I made a video titled Stop Watching Catholic Apologetics.
[23:18] There you go. Which, you know, it's not a
[23:21] smart business decision for me to make a video like that
[23:23] because that's kind of what I do here.
[23:25] But yeah, people and then and then I encounter people in real
[23:30] life at conferences and things that are like, man, I really
[23:32] want to like be a good Catholic, but I just don't have, I don't
[23:35] know, all of the things that you guys know.
[23:37] And I'm like, no, that's not what this is about at all.
[23:40] Yes, Catholic apologetics is very good for understanding why
[23:43] the faith is true, for understanding some of the deeper
[23:45] nuances of the faith, deeper details of the faith that you
[23:48] might not, you know, here on a Sunday homily or something like
[23:50] that, because it's not relevant to everybody's daily lives.
[23:53] But it's not required that you understand, I'm trying to think
[23:56] of some of the finer details of, you know, I don't know, I'm
[24:01] trying to think of something, but I can't think of something
[24:02] off the spot off the top of my head.
[24:04] But it's not, it's not important that you understand these
[24:08] things. You know, understanding
[24:12] transubstantiation in the species versus the accidents and
[24:16] all these things are the substance versus the accidents
[24:18] in the species. And you know, you get the
[24:19] fullness from the from the, from the host.
[24:23] You don't need both species and all this stuff like that's good.
[24:26] If you, if you have questions about it, obviously it's good to
[24:28] ask those questions and to explore those questions.
[24:30] And the beautiful thing about the Catholic faith is that it's
[24:32] been around for so long that many people have thought through
[24:35] these things and the church has given really clear teachings on
[24:37] these things. So that's great.
[24:39] But it's not necessary for your practice of the faith to
[24:42] understand every fine detail of the faith.
[24:44] In fact, it can sometimes hinder the faith.
[24:47] You can sometimes hinder your practice of the faith because
[24:48] you're so obsessed with understanding things you're so
[24:50] obsessed with, you know, you might even become prideful with
[24:53] these things that you lose sight of.
[24:55] Hey, actually what you should be doing instead of consuming all
[24:58] of this informational knowledge is praying the rosary, going out
[25:01] and doing acts of charity, spreading the faith yourself
[25:04] through maybe not head knowledge even, but just through acts of
[25:07] charity. You don't have to have a YouTube
[25:09] channel to spread the faith. Many people have been more
[25:11] effective in spreading the faith without a YouTube channel,
[25:13] attending Mass, obviously doing these things that you should be
[25:15] doing and, you know, frequenting the sacraments, all of that
[25:19] stuff is in infinitely more important than watching Catholic
[25:23] content online. So and I think, you know, I'm
[25:27] like shouting everybody, everybody's books out right now.
[25:29] But Matt Frad's book, Jesus Our Refuge has been so huge for me
[25:34] to understand that because, yeah, there there's a ton of
[25:37] like scrupulosity that gets encouraged by online
[25:40] conversations and we lose sight of the fact that this faith is
[25:44] about Jesus Christ. This faith is about a
[25:46] relationship with a person, not about even a set of rules that
[25:49] we have to follow. Yes, those rules are important
[25:51] for having a proper relationship with Jesus Christ, but those
[25:54] rules aren't like an end in and of themselves.
[25:57] Those rules are there to help us maintain that relationship with
[25:59] Christ. So I just like said a bunch of
[26:01] things, but yes, the answer to the question is yes.
[26:05] You know, and I also think it can also skew the way that you
[26:09] perceive other denominations. For example, I had no idea there
[26:14] was I just got online to post about my faith because I needed
[26:18] to. I felt called to.
[26:20] I've never in my, in my real life met a Protestant or a
[26:24] Lutheran, a Baptist who came at me the way that people come at
[26:28] me in the comments. So it's, you know, it can
[26:30] definitely skew. It's not that Protestants are
[26:32] these hateful people. There are some people from all
[26:36] walks of life, from all faiths who don't like Catholics, who
[26:39] have been told lies about Catholics.
[26:41] But you're not going to meet them on the street.
[26:43] So don't let that you know. Then you walk around like a chip
[26:46] on your shoulder like practices. They, they're not the full, you
[26:49] know, you don't want to, you don't want to do that either.
[26:51] So I always try myself, like I don't really do apologetics.
[26:54] I, I kind of do. Well, I don't really even know,
[26:57] but I just try and, you know, explain the faith to a way in a
[27:01] way that people can understand it.
[27:03] And maybe those arguments, I can dismantle them or add some
[27:06] clarity to them. But I just really want people.
[27:09] I always think like I might be the only Catholic that somebody
[27:11] comes across, whether they've been lied to about Catholics.
[27:14] Well, they've never seen a Catholic or spoken to 1.
[27:16] I might be the only one. So what do I want them to walk
[27:19] away from? If they see my video or YouTube
[27:21] information, valuable information that's rooted in
[27:24] truth, rooted in Christ, and that's all I can do because my
[27:27] job is not to convert. My job is to, you know, I think
[27:31] explain or evangelize it in that way and God can do the rest.
[27:34] So that's, that's kind of like my spiel.
[27:37] No, that's. Great.
[27:38] That's awesome, a good point. No, yeah.
[27:41] And and if I could just like add on to that, I think going
[27:46] through so many kind of conversion experiences has kind
[27:48] of given me some insight on what is going through somebody's mind
[27:51] at we know when they're considering converting.
[27:53] And it's never, you know, when I was when I was converting from
[27:56] atheism to back to non denominationalism, it wasn't
[28:00] like the arguments that convinced me really.
[28:03] It was something in my heart. I had kind of an existential
[28:06] crisis actually at work where I realized that there's no point
[28:09] to life if there's no God and nothing I ever do will ever
[28:11] matter, which is like a whole other story.
[28:13] But it's these kind of experiences that you have in
[28:15] your heart that lead you to seek out the information.
[28:18] And then based on that information, you convert.
[28:21] So the information is important, but we shouldn't treat the
[28:23] information as like, oh, if I just present this one argument
[28:26] to this Protestant guy, then he'll he'll convert.
[28:28] Like he'll have no choice but to convert.
[28:30] And you know, Matt Fred, I keep talking about Matt Fred because
[28:32] he's awesome. But he said he has said
[28:35] frequently on a show, and I don't know if he's the
[28:37] originator of this quote, but he says someone who is convinced
[28:40] against their will is of the same opinion still.
[28:43] So you can give somebody all the arguments and even enough
[28:46] arguments that they can't refute them.
[28:47] It doesn't mean that their heart is going to move in the
[28:50] direction where you want it to move.
[28:52] So, you know, I posted recently that somebody who prays the full
[28:55] rosary every day, all four sets of the mysteries every day, does
[28:58] more for, does more to win souls than any Catholic YouTube, all
[29:03] Catholic Youtubers, influencers combined.
[29:05] So if you really want to win souls over, you need to pray the
[29:10] Rosary and Our Lady will soften their hearts as she did mine.
[29:13] Amen. Wow, That's a perfect, perfect
[29:15] ending note there. OK.
[29:17] You've also talked a lot about authority, so I wanted to know
[29:20] your take on this. Why do you think that modern
[29:22] Christians resist authority so strongly?
[29:26] Do you think that they do? I mean, I think they do, but
[29:28] also my like, what do I really know?
[29:30] I'm not out there in the modern Christian world, but that's my
[29:33] take on it. So if you agree, why do you
[29:36] think that they resist authority so strongly?
[29:38] Yeah, I think in my experience, and I know there's all kinds of
[29:41] different Protestant denominations.
[29:43] So there's going to be a lot of Protestants who hear that
[29:44] question and say, well, I don't reject authority.
[29:47] I believe in the the authority of the Presbyterian Church or
[29:50] the authority of the Lutheran Church or whatever.
[29:52] OK, so good for you. That's great.
[29:54] We're talking about somebody else now.
[29:55] But yeah, for many modern Protestant denominations, non
[29:58] denominationalism, Baptists, they tend to be very American
[30:03] and Americanism it which, you know, there are a lot of great
[30:07] things about American culture that I love.
[30:09] But one of the things is this rejection of authority.
[30:11] You know, we left this whole monarchical system as a country.
[30:15] That's kind of how our country was founded.
[30:17] And so that's kind of been in the culture of America ever
[30:19] since. So now to go back into a
[30:21] monarchical system, into the Davidic Kingdom with the the
[30:24] Prime Minister who was given the keys to the Kingdom, who now
[30:26] everybody else must submit to. Otherwise, not only are you
[30:30] rejecting him, but you're rejecting the one who sent him,
[30:32] which is Jesus Christ. That whole like structure is
[30:35] just like a culture shock, I think for a lot of people.
[30:38] And they start to think, well, I don't need the Pope.
[30:40] I don't need a priest. I don't need bishops and
[30:43] Cardinals. I just need me in my Bible and
[30:46] Jesus Christ. And, you know, that can be very,
[30:49] I think, alluring for a lot of people, especially because, you
[30:52] know, and I'm not, I'm not trying to judge anybody's heart
[30:54] because God knows mine is filthy.
[30:56] But a lot of times people can. And as a Protestant myself, I'll
[31:00] talk about myself as a Protestant, I used this line of
[31:03] reasoning to excuse sins that I didn't want to let go of.
[31:06] So I would, well, as long as I feel bad about this sin and I
[31:10] pray about it afterwards, then, you know, maybe that's, that's
[31:14] repentance. There you go.
[31:15] I'm repenting. Going from that to the Catholic
[31:17] perspective is like, you need to go to confession and you just
[31:19] stop doing that. Otherwise your salvation is in
[31:21] danger. It's like, whoa, OK, but a?
[31:26] Little serious guys. Yeah, it's just, it's just a
[31:29] little bit of sin, you know, says Satan.
[31:33] Yeah. But yeah, so you know, the
[31:36] structure and the authority really appealed to me, probably
[31:39] for childhood reasons, but for a lot of people that can be very
[31:42] off putting. I understand.
[31:43] Yeah, yeah. No, that's great.
[31:44] I don't really have a good segue to my next set of questions, so
[31:48] I'm just going to jump right into it.
[31:51] I wanted to kind of go over just some things that you have said.
[31:55] But before I do, I really wanted to ask you if you feel like
[31:58] having this platform that you've grown.
[32:00] Do you think that it has deepened your faith, or do you
[32:03] think that it has made it more complicated?
[32:05] It depends on when you ask me right now, I would say it's
[32:09] deepening my faith because it OK, I'll, I'll explain why it
[32:14] does kind of both. So right now, right now it's
[32:16] deepening my faith because I'm trying to understand things.
[32:19] I've been really diving into Marian devotion, but which has
[32:21] been really beautiful for my spirituality.
[32:24] So just learning about that stuff, doing research, making
[32:26] videos about stuff that excites me about the faith kind of
[32:29] keeps, keeps the faith alive for me.
[32:31] It keeps it engaging for me. So I'm never, I don't feel like
[32:34] I'm ever really bored with the faith because I'm always just
[32:36] learning about stuff that interests me.
[32:38] And you know, a faith has been around in its current form for
[32:40] the last 2000 years. And even before that is is going
[32:44] to be very deep, innerly deep. Then you can't really explore it
[32:47] all. So that's a lot of fun.
[32:48] That's exciting when it becomes a problem is that sometimes I've
[32:52] noticed in myself that I can treat encounters with God or
[32:57] even just Sacramento experiences as like, oh, that's a video idea
[33:04] or something like that. And that's very unhealthy.
[33:06] I don't like that. So I really have to check myself
[33:08] against that. Yeah.
[33:09] Because I don't want my practice of the faith to just be
[33:12] something like that. I'm thinking about as like a
[33:15] vlogger or something like, oh, I got to go and do this retreat or
[33:18] I'm going to go to Eucharistic adoration for 24 hours and make
[33:21] a video about it. Like, I don't want to do that
[33:22] stuff. Not no shade on anybody who has
[33:23] done that because that's that stuff can encourage people to go
[33:26] in and do similar things. If my intention is to do that
[33:29] for the sake of making a video, then that's very unhealthy.
[33:31] So I've had to kind of check myself, even reading Scripture
[33:33] sometimes I'll be like just reading it through, you know,
[33:35] the Gospel of John or something and then or daily mass reading
[33:38] or something. And then I'll be like, how do
[33:40] Protestants explain that? And I'm like, OK, shut up.
[33:42] Like that's not helpful. Wait a minute.
[33:45] Yeah, your practice of the faith shouldn't be this defensive
[33:47] thing that you're always like in fight mode or about, you know,
[33:50] so I've had to kind of check myself a lot with that.
[33:53] And again, the daily rosary really helps.
[33:55] Yeah. What's the rosary has been
[33:58] really pivotal in your faith life, you know, before and after
[34:02] Catholicism for you or I guess before and after you converted.
[34:05] What's your favorite mystery? Wow, it that also depends when
[34:11] you ask me. Sorry, I'm adjusting.
[34:13] That's so funny. Like, well, today I'll tell you
[34:16] what my favorite one is today. Yeah, Lately it's been the
[34:19] Annunciation, OK, Because it's, I think it's like it's easier to
[34:23] meditate on because it's the Annunciation is Hail Mary full
[34:26] of grace. The Lord is with thee.
[34:28] So it's just you're meditating on it, as you're saying.
[34:31] The Hail Mary, it's kind of built into it, which is really
[34:33] nice. But also, yeah, just thinking
[34:35] about what Mary was thinking at that time, there's so many
[34:37] uncertainties. And I just imagine, I just
[34:41] imagine when she's gave her Fiat at the Annunciation, every
[34:45] suffering she had to go through, you know, witnessing her son
[34:48] being crucified, you know, losing her son in the temple,
[34:50] which is another joy. I think the Joyful Mysteries are
[34:52] probably my favorite right now. You know, the finding in the
[34:55] temple, all that stuff. Sorry, my nephew's crying it.
[34:58] I just imagine her giving her Fiat every time one of these
[35:01] sufferings arises. So she gives her Fiat initially
[35:04] and then she loses Jesus in the temple.
[35:06] You know, Jesus stays behind in the temple and and they can't
[35:09] find him for three days. The amount of suffering that
[35:11] must have been going on during those three days, The the I
[35:14] can't imagine and I just imagine her saying like giving her Fiat
[35:17] again, like yes to the suffering if this is God's will.
[35:20] So there's just this constant submission to God's will that I
[35:22] find really beautiful. And then, you know, obviously
[35:24] seeing her, her son be crucified and humiliated and tormented and
[35:29] how much that must have pierced her heart, as has.
[35:34] I'm blanking on the guys name that one prophet that saw Jesus
[35:37] in the temple and knew he was the Messiah, as he said.
[35:40] Simeon. Yes, Thank you.
[35:42] So yeah, as he said, you know, sort of pierced your own soul
[35:44] too. And she felt that at the
[35:45] crucifixion and she I just imagine her giving her Fiat
[35:48] every time. So I don't know.
[35:49] That's that's my favorite right now.
[35:50] I mean, that's a great one, the way.
[35:52] You What's your favorite? Just like, well, I like the
[35:57] sorrowful mysteries. I mean, you can't really beat
[36:00] them. The agony in the garden, I think
[36:03] is the one that really stands out to me the most just because
[36:06] I mean how it's just I can't imagine just the complete
[36:11] surrender of like, I don't want to do this, but your will will
[36:15] be done, you know, And then I complain, you know, about like
[36:20] my surrender of a hard time, a hard season of life.
[36:24] And it's just like, my gosh, how dare you complain, you know, So
[36:27] that always, you know, maybe for selfish reasons that I think
[36:30] that's some that's one of my favorites.
[36:32] But the annunciations right up right, Yeah, I switching gears.
[36:36] Sorry again a little bit. I'm like not a professional.
[36:39] Everyone forgive me. I love this.
[36:43] You mentioned that you experience intense spiritual
[36:46] warfare before confirmation, so I wanted to talk a little bit
[36:49] about that. Do you think that modern
[36:51] Catholics underestimate demonic resistance?
[36:53] And then also, can you tell us about what you experienced
[36:57] leading up to that? What, what a what a switch?
[37:00] What's your favorite mystery? Let's talk demonic.
[37:02] No, it's great because the rosary is a powerful tool
[37:05] against the demonic. So that's so I just did a video
[37:07] on this exorcist say it's the most powerful prayer guys, so.
[37:11] Yes, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[37:13] So I think definitely Catholics and everybody, you know, we're
[37:17] in modern times, Everybody's very, I don't know, everybody
[37:21] thinks very like scientifically, very materially.
[37:24] So unfortunately, yeah, there's, there's a, a lack of belief in
[37:27] the demonic. But it's obvious when you when
[37:31] you especially when you like listen to exorcist podcasts and,
[37:34] and things like that. Yeah, it's very obvious that
[37:36] this you hear from Saint Padre Pio who says like, if you could
[37:39] see all of the demons, the sky would be blackened.
[37:42] So, yeah, no, definitely demons are real.
[37:44] They are trying to RIP you away from Christ, but they can't
[37:48] unless you let them. So that's that's the reassuring
[37:51] thing. Yeah.
[37:54] Some things that have happened in my life that have really
[37:57] confirmed this for me was yeah, as I was I, you know, growing
[38:00] up, I didn't have any supernatural, spiritual, demonic
[38:04] experiences or anything like that.
[38:06] It wasn't until I was going through OCIA that I kept having
[38:10] recurring refining nightmares. Some of them were kind of just a
[38:16] little strange. I didn't really know what it
[38:17] was. One of them that kept happening
[38:19] was basically, I don't remember what I was seeing visually, but
[38:23] there was like this dark presence and I was basically
[38:25] like just poking fun at it, like you're nothing, whatever.
[38:28] And then it just made this horrific sound that I can't
[38:31] possibly recreate. And that just like shook me and
[38:34] scared the life out of me. And I woke up.
[38:36] And then from there it progressed to more physical
[38:38] things where I kept having this dream that I would, I was in my
[38:41] house. I would go into the bathroom
[38:43] where there was like this dim light and as soon as I walked in
[38:46] there I'd be choked and, and I, it would just, I would keep
[38:49] choking until I could eek out a Hail Mary.
[38:51] So as soon as I said Hail Mary, it would stop and I would wake
[38:53] up. I had that dream almost every
[38:57] night for a time, which I was like scared to go to sleep
[39:00] sometimes. And then one of the last ones I
[39:03] had was very close to confirmation, might have been
[39:07] like in the last week or two before confirmation.
[39:10] And I had this dream that I was, I found myself in a basement.
[39:13] I knew there was a dark presence there.
[39:14] I wanted to get out of there. There was a staircase with a
[39:16] light. So I was running up the
[39:18] staircase to get out of the basement.
[39:19] And as soon as I got the top to the top, I felt this relief,
[39:22] like I'm out. And then I feel something grab
[39:24] my foot and start pulling me back.
[39:26] And I just hear this deep voice saying no, no, like repeatedly.
[39:29] And that again, yeah, shook me awake.
[39:31] Thankfully, since confirmation, especially since praying the
[39:34] rosary regularly, that hasn't happened.
[39:37] I think there may have been like one or two instances ever since
[39:41] then. But I do think that there was
[39:43] something going on there. And I've heard similar stories
[39:46] since then from I think it was Gabby after hours.
[39:50] I'm pretty sure it was him. If I'm mistaken, I'm really
[39:52] sorry. But I think he was saying that
[39:55] he was actually, while awake, he was like physically restrained
[39:58] by something that was being suffocated until he could say
[40:00] Hail Mary, and then it stopped. So.
[40:03] It's scary, but it also has really reinforced my
[40:07] appreciation for Mary and my devotion to the rosary.
[40:10] So, you know, and then you listen to podcasts like The
[40:12] Exorcist Files, which was pretty much responsible for the
[40:16] conversion of my wife to Catholicism.
[40:18] Really. Yeah, and so it's like, what a
[40:20] self owned by the devil when he's like, let me scare a bunch
[40:23] of people, let me try to pull people away from Christ.
[40:25] And then through these stories, people come to Christ.
[40:27] It's like, yeah brah, good job. Big L from the devil's end.
[40:32] Common Common devil L. Common devil L That's right.
[40:37] That's I mean, that's so intense.
[40:39] I myself, I didn't even want it. My husband would send me
[40:42] different articles. Father Chad Ripper, you know,
[40:46] all these different types of priests and I, Joe, do not send
[40:50] this to my phone. It's just, it's so scary to me.
[40:52] But it's interesting because the more that I dig into my faith
[40:57] and the stronger that I feel like my faith has grown, the
[41:00] more that I'm not interested in it, but the more that I want to
[41:04] become aware of it so I don't fall victim to a type of thing.
[41:07] I think it's important to be aware and I think our society
[41:10] has it's like 2 extremes. Either everything is spiritual
[41:14] warfare. Some things are just the
[41:15] product, product of your own decisions or your own choices or
[41:19] just, you know, sometimes life, but then other things that are
[41:23] very demonic or could open up that door and, and all those
[41:28] types of things, those things are like glassed over.
[41:30] So it's like it's not either end guys.
[41:32] It's you have to be aware of it. You have to acknowledge that
[41:36] it's there, but then actively, you know, if you stay rooted in
[41:39] your faith and like you said, the rosary I think is the best,
[41:42] most powerful weapon against any of that stuff.
[41:44] So. Yeah.
[41:45] And if I could add one thing often, yeah, we, I think we can
[41:49] also underestimate the subtle ways that Satan can try to, you
[41:53] know, attack us, but not in like an overly obvious way.
[41:56] Because if Satan attacks us isn't in an obvious way, he's
[41:59] making his presence known. He's making his existence known,
[42:01] which means he's making God's existence known.
[42:04] So he's often going to try to attack us in some more subtle
[42:07] ways. And what people might find is
[42:09] like, I know this, this whole episode's about the rosary.
[42:11] I love it. If you try to start praying the
[42:13] rosary, like let's say somebody listening to this doesn't pray
[42:16] the rosary at all, start praying the rosary every day.
[42:18] You're going to find that little things pop up here and there
[42:21] that are trying to pull you away from that devotion.
[42:23] You're going to find like, oh man, you know, I got it.
[42:26] You know, I had to go do this thing that I otherwise wouldn't
[42:28] have had to do or I'm just really tired today.
[42:31] You know, there's going to be these little excuses that kind
[42:33] of pop up to try to pull you away from that.
[42:35] And there might even be, you know, like negative things that
[42:37] happened to you that are trying to pull you away from that.
[42:39] Because the beauty of the rosary, the graces of the rosary
[42:42] are so powerful that Satan will do anything to try to keep you
[42:45] away from it. But the beautiful thing is he's,
[42:47] he's weak compared to Our Lady, obviously compared to God.
[42:51] So once you just like push past that and it's, it's might be a
[42:55] struggle for for life. You know, there's always going
[42:57] to be things trying to pull us away from the rosary.
[42:59] But once you you get past that you you're able to be devout
[43:01] with it. The graces you receive from it
[43:03] are so worth it. Yeah, once I started praying the
[43:08] rosary, I never went back to not praying it.
[43:10] It's just, you know, once you start, you won't you won't stop.
[43:14] There could be seasons where you lay off a little for whatever
[43:16] reason, but don't ever actually stops.
[43:19] Yeah, that's that's excellent. Another thing that you've said,
[43:21] you've actually called Catholicism Christianity with
[43:24] cheat codes, which yes, I love that.
[43:28] What are the most underused cheat codes?
[43:31] Like what? Can you unpack that a little
[43:33] bit? Where did I say that?
[43:34] I remember saying that. I don't remember where I said
[43:36] that. I have been aggressively doing
[43:38] my research on you, so I just got everything down.
[43:40] So I didn't even tell you. That's funny.
[43:43] Yeah, it is. It is.
[43:45] And actually Saint Thomas Aquinas says this.
[43:47] He doesn't say it with those words because he's much smarter
[43:50] than me, but he's he talks about how the rituals in the old
[43:53] covenant, like the sacrifices and all that they, and actually
[43:57] Hebrews says this too. They didn't have the power in
[43:59] themselves to effectuate, you know, grace in our lives, to
[44:02] actually change our hearts, to convert us more and more to
[44:04] Christ or, you know, to God. They might have been unaware of
[44:07] Christ at that time, but the sacraments of the new covenant,
[44:10] baptism, the Eucharist, confessed expression, holy
[44:13] matrimony, all these other things, these actually deliver
[44:16] graces to us that allow us to grow in the spiritual life,
[44:19] which without without which you're going to really be
[44:21] struggling like you're going to be, you're going to be doing
[44:24] this on hard mode. So yeah, that's why I say it's
[44:26] like cheat codes because I've also noticed, you know, there
[44:28] are sins, which I'm sure you could guess what they are that
[44:32] I've struggled with for a very long time as as many men
[44:34] struggle and and women struggle as well, that feel like I'm
[44:37] never going to to overcome this. This is just this is impossible
[44:40] to overcome. Then you go to confession, you
[44:43] know, every week, maybe you go to confession every day, maybe
[44:46] you, maybe you go to confession and daily mass as often as
[44:50] possible. And these sacraments, it's not
[44:52] just you like going through some motions.
[44:54] These are actually delivering graces.
[44:55] Father Carlos Martin's the famous exorcist of the podcast
[44:58] Exorcist Files says that one confession has the power of 1000
[45:03] exorcisms. So these are actually delivering
[45:06] spiritual graces there. They're crushing all of the
[45:09] demons that are trying to attack you.
[45:11] And so the more you do that, the better equipped you are to
[45:14] struggle against sin, which is why I say it's it's really is
[45:18] Christianity with cheat codes. Yeah, no, I absolutely love
[45:21] that. And also back to the rosary,
[45:22] because we haven't said enough about it.
[45:24] If you pray the rosary every day, you know, those sins will,
[45:28] you know, I'm not saying they're going to disappear like that.
[45:30] It's not a magic wand. But you will receive so many
[45:34] graces from that as well. It's, you know, so many people
[45:37] have spoken on it. And I just think, yeah, I mean,
[45:40] the whole, you know, Christianity, Catholicism, I
[45:43] always like to explain it. It's an invitation.
[45:45] It's always an invitation. You always have an invitation to
[45:49] go seek Jesus, to go seek his mercy, his grace, whether it's
[45:52] the sacrament of reconciliation, daily Mass, Sunday Mass,
[45:55] whatever it is, adoration, the invites always there.
[45:58] But we have to go. We have to say yes.
[46:01] We have to actually agree to do that and then let his grace, his
[46:04] mercy change us and heal us. So yeah, I love that you said
[46:07] that. And I think it's Christianity.
[46:09] Catholicism is Christianity with cheat cones.
[46:11] So that's great. And then my last question about
[46:13] some because you have criticism modern Protestantism.
[46:17] I wanted to know if you think Catholicism today risks drifting
[46:21] into that same type of emotionalism that we see in
[46:25] Protestant denominations. Yeah, I do think it's going the
[46:29] opposite way. I feel like it's either, you
[46:31] know, do you think it's coming back the tradition or do you
[46:33] think we're drifting the other way a little?
[46:35] Yeah, I think depending on where you where you look, you might
[46:40] feel it's going one way or another.
[46:41] Like if you go online, you're going to think everybody is
[46:43] traditional. But if you go in person to your
[46:46] local parish, you know, there might be maracas and acoustic
[46:49] guitars and you might be like what is happening here.
[46:51] So it really kind of the, I don't, I don't, I don't know if
[46:54] I know enough to like speak on a general trend.
[46:56] But I think that the younger generation, you know, I'm a
[47:00] catechist at my, at my parish. So the younger generation that
[47:03] I'm seeing come into the church is very traditional and they
[47:05] want to understand these things about the faith.
[47:07] They want to understand, you know, what should I be doing
[47:09] during the liturgy of the Mass? And they want to understand the
[47:12] rosary. They're very devout and they
[47:14] really want to do things right, which is beautiful.
[47:16] So that's great. I think the older generations,
[47:19] for whatever reason, probably just poor catechesis.
[47:21] It's not their fault, All right? They grew, they were growing up
[47:26] in a very like, very tumultuous time in the church where there
[47:29] probably wasn't great catechesis.
[47:31] And even today, there needs to be a better catechesis, which is
[47:33] why somebody who, you know, if you're somebody who has been
[47:36] feeling called to be a catechist and you understand the faith
[47:40] better than most people around you, you probably should be a
[47:42] catechist. If whoever's watching this, if
[47:45] you've been looking for a sign to be a catechist, please go be
[47:47] a catechist. We need, we need really good
[47:49] catechist out there, and we need young catechist out there.
[47:52] I think if you understand the faith well, if you're super new
[47:55] and are still trying to figure things out, then take your time
[47:57] and grow in the faith. Yeah.
[47:59] But yeah, all that to say, the younger people I'm seeing come
[48:02] in, there's a lot of them and they're very, very traditional
[48:06] and conservative. A lot of them are interested in
[48:07] the traditional Latin Mass, which I think is beautiful.
[48:09] But even there are a lot, a lot of them are interested in it.
[48:12] It's just a reverent Novus Ordo that doesn't have acoustic
[48:14] guitars and maracas, which I think speaks well for the
[48:17] future. Yeah, I agree.
[48:18] Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I went to a Byzantine Mass,
[48:22] Divine Liturgy and and my husband looked at each other
[48:26] because we go to Novus Ordo Mass.
[48:30] We were like, is this what Protestants feel like when they
[48:32] walk into a Novus Ordo mask? Because I don't think we can go
[48:36] back to what we are used to after seeing this like reverent
[48:40] beautiful mask. So I do think it's a little bit
[48:42] of AI do think it depends on on where you look.
[48:45] Yeah, it depends on what what corner of online you're you're
[48:49] in. I wanted to shift a little
[48:52] because, you know, you're a Catholic man.
[48:54] Can you speak to what for the men anyways, what lukewarm
[48:59] Catholicism or lukewarm Christianity looks like in men
[49:02] today? I know it's like a really heavy
[49:05] hitter. Yeah, I, well, I can speak for
[49:08] myself, especially before being Catholic.
[49:10] Things that were things that were signed that I was very
[49:13] lukewarm. I mentioned it earlier, but
[49:14] making excuses for sins or making, it's not to say you need
[49:17] to beat yourself up and think you're the worst person ever,
[49:20] because anything you commit has been committed by other people.
[49:22] And, and anything you commit, it doesn't mean you can't still be
[49:26] a St. That's the beauty of our faith.
[49:27] Like anything you commit has probably been committed by
[49:30] somebody who's now a canonized St.
[49:31] That's a crazy thing to think, but but it's true.
[49:34] So don't beat yourself up, but also don't persist in it and
[49:37] don't, don't stop fighting against it.
[49:40] So I think that's often the thing or people will, you know,
[49:43] you might say, well, I'm going to, I'm going to skip Mass
[49:46] today, but I'll pray, I'll pray a rosary later or something and
[49:48] that'll cover it or whatever. You know, the rosary is
[49:50] beautiful, but it cannot replace the Mass.
[49:53] It can deliver a ton of graces to you.
[49:55] It's a beautiful thing that everybody should do, but it does
[49:57] not replace the Mass. But I think it's things like
[49:59] that where people kind of, they'll kind of be like, well, I
[50:02] don't really like what the church says on this because it's
[50:04] inconvenient for me. So I'm, I'm just going to, I'm
[50:06] just going to not believe that that's we you're don't be a
[50:10] Catholic at that point. You know, if you, if, if you
[50:12] don't want to submit to the church's teachings on every
[50:15] area, then you are protesting against the church.
[50:18] And we call those people Protestants.
[50:20] So don't be a Protestant. I mean, I love, I love
[50:22] Protestants. I have a lot of great Protestant
[50:23] friends. But if you want to be Catholic,
[50:25] then be Catholic. That's what we're doing here.
[50:28] Yeah, Yeah, yeah. I think that's my two cents on
[50:31] that I guess. OK, great.
[50:33] And then we're almost done here. This has been so easy and great
[50:39] man. OK, I'll make up some other
[50:40] questions. Don't.
[50:41] Worry. Yeah, there we go.
[50:42] I wanted to ask what you think spiritual leadership looks like
[50:46] in a Catholic marriage. I haven't.
[50:49] You're actually my first, I think, right, Yes, my first
[50:53] married Catholic man guest, my first married husband, Catholic
[50:58] husband guest. So I wanted to know what, what
[51:00] that looks like for your, how you would describe spiritual
[51:03] leadership in in your marriage? Well, yeah, I mean, Jesus gives
[51:07] us the perfect example. He tells, he told the apostles,
[51:09] whoever wants to be the greatest must be the servant of all.
[51:12] So if you want to be, which is the rightful position, like if
[51:16] you want to be the head of your household, you need to be the
[51:18] servant of your household. You need to be sacrificing
[51:20] yourself for the household as Christ sacrificed himself for
[51:23] us, for the church, which is, you know, not easy.
[51:26] I'm certainly not perfect at it, but that's kind of the approach.
[51:29] I try to keep that in mind, especially I'm getting irritated
[51:32] or something. It's, I think it's, it's
[51:34] contrary to a lot of what we hear nowadays, because everybody
[51:36] nowadays is like, I need to, I need to do what's best for me.
[51:39] I need to find my own happiness or whatever.
[51:41] But actually, no, no, you need to sacrifice yourself for those
[51:44] around you, for those in your care and be a living sacrifice,
[51:48] living sacrifice to God. So I think that's just like,
[51:51] just do what Jesus did. Yeah.
[51:53] So, so easy to say, right? Just do what Jesus did.
[51:56] Yeah, just be more like him, guys.
[51:58] That's your answer. Just be like Jesus, actually.
[52:00] Actually recently, I can't remember which gospel or like
[52:04] what it was, but it was a reading, it was a Sunday reading
[52:08] about Saint John the Baptist. I can't remember, but it was
[52:11] basically all about how his life pointed to Christ.
[52:15] So it's interesting that you might just be like Christ.
[52:17] I always, I mean, I love that saying, obviously, but I also
[52:20] hate that saying because it's so intimidating and so unattainable
[52:23] that it's like it cannot be like Christ.
[52:25] I can try. But the priest who is giving the
[52:28] homily mentioned how Saint John the Baptist, his whole role, his
[52:32] whole mission was to point people to Christ.
[52:35] He said it himself. He said that was his role, that
[52:37] was his purpose. That was why he was here.
[52:39] And that's what he did with his life, point people to Christ.
[52:42] And I was like, instead of telling myself to be more like
[52:44] Christ in these situations, I need to tell myself be more like
[52:47] John the Baptist. I need to have, you know, I just
[52:50] want to point people to Christ. So that's been like my mentality
[52:53] that, you know, lately, because this was maybe about a month
[52:55] ago, because it's so hard to think, yeah, be more like
[52:59] Christ. We're trying and we fail so
[53:02] miserably every day. But if I tell myself, you know
[53:05] what, be more like John the Baptist when I'm in my comments
[53:08] or, you know, I'm, I'm frustrated or whatever, it's
[53:10] like, I want to point people to Christ.
[53:12] So how can I do that? By my witness, by how I respond,
[53:15] by how I comment back, by how I, I, you know, respond to hatred,
[53:19] to vitriol, to whatever I want to point people to him.
[53:22] How can I do that? Be like John the Baptist.
[53:24] So that's. Yeah, that's a big mantra.
[53:26] That's beautiful. Yeah, that's actually way better
[53:28] than what I said. So just cut out my part and put
[53:30] that. OK, well.
[53:32] It's, it's true, though, because that's kind of the role that the
[53:36] Saints play. It's they're, they're people who
[53:38] are in exactly the same state as us, born with original sin,
[53:41] struggling with concupiscence and all these things.
[53:43] And they exemplify for us how in that situation to who strive to
[53:48] be like Christ. That's like, you know, Paul
[53:50] says, imitate me as I imitate Christ.
[53:53] And I think Saint Joseph is a great example of this as well,
[53:55] because Saint Joseph was given, especially if if you're like a
[53:58] Catholic man, Catholic husband and father, Saint Joseph was
[54:01] given the role of caring for the Mother of God and God, that's a
[54:06] big deal. That's scary.
[54:08] And yeah, and so much stuff happened during that, during him
[54:14] carrying out that mission. That was terrifying.
[54:17] And we never hear one complaint from him.
[54:19] We never hear him Speaking of himself highly.
[54:22] We don't hear anything from him. He's just, he's just feeling
[54:24] fulfilling his role and not seeking attention.
[54:26] That's why I actually chose him as my confirmation saying,
[54:28] because I think I've noticed in myself a tendency to like want
[54:32] credit or to want attention. And so I, I, I wanted Saint
[54:35] Joseph as my confirmation St. to ask for his intercession to help
[54:38] me like overcome that and, and not be that way.
[54:41] So yeah, I think and one of the prayers that I keep coming back
[54:44] to as well, which I should probably pray more consistently,
[54:46] is the Litany of Humility because.
[54:48] Yeah, it's. One of those prayers too where
[54:50] it's like I hate it but I love it but I.
[54:52] Hate it, I know. I was going to say, I'm always
[54:54] very careful before I start one of those.
[54:58] Yeah, you know that others would be preferred more than I, you
[55:02] know, Lord, grant me the grace to desire it, that that others
[55:04] would be more holy than me, provided I should be as holy as
[55:07] I provided that I will be as holy as I should be.
[55:10] Lord, grant me the grace to desire like I want to make
[55:12] myself as small as possible and be a sacrifice to those around
[55:16] me as much as possible and, and draw them to Christ, as you
[55:19] said, like if you're a parent, a spouse, your whole role in life
[55:23] is getting your children and your spouse to heaven.
[55:26] That's that's it. Anything else, you know, you
[55:29] trying to look cool, you trying to be recognized for something
[55:33] you did around the house or something you know you trying to
[55:36] whatever, like trying to be trying to increase yourself in
[55:39] the opinions of others is stupid.
[55:41] Stop it. Yeah.
[55:42] Which I have to remind myself of often times.
[55:44] You know, it's, it's funny coming from a Catholic
[55:46] influencer to tell, to tell people not to seek their own
[55:49] glory or something. But yeah, something that I try
[55:51] to remind myself of. And the litany of humility helps
[55:53] for sure. Yeah, everyone should definitely
[55:55] pray that one at least once. I prayed it during adoration
[55:58] once and I'm just like reading it like man, what am I asking
[56:03] for here? Like do I really want this?
[56:05] Speaking of Saints, is it safe to assume Saint Joseph is your
[56:08] favorite St. Or do you have a different one?
[56:11] Or maybe your second. Depends when you ask me.
[56:13] Yeah, I love St. Joseph.
[56:14] He's awesome. I'm planning on making a video
[56:16] about him as well because there's been a lot of miracles
[56:19] attributed to him. He's great.
[56:20] I love, I love, love, love, love St.
[56:23] Ambrose of Milan. Absolutely amazing guy.
[56:26] I'll give you if I can give you like a brief summary of of Yeah.
[56:30] So he was a governor in Milan. This is in the 4th century.
[56:36] And he was just, you know, he was in the process of
[56:39] converting. And in Milan, the Bishop had
[56:42] died and they were trying to find a replacement.
[56:44] There was some heretical groups trying to replace him with their
[56:46] own guys. And and, you know, there's all
[56:48] kinds of infighting of who was going to replace his Bishop.
[56:50] So him as the governor of Milan goes and tries to break up what
[56:54] was about to become a riot in a church because they're about to
[56:57] like start fighting each other. He goes there, tries to break up
[56:59] this fight and the story goes a little child cries out Bishop,
[57:03] Bishop Ambrose and everybody started crying out Bishop
[57:05] Ambrose, Bishop Ambrose. And he was like, I'm not even
[57:08] baptized yet, guys, like what are you talking about?
[57:10] So he tries to avoid this at all costs.
[57:12] He says, look, I've tortured people.
[57:14] I'm I've done these horrible sins in the past, like I cannot
[57:17] be a Bishop. And they're like, Nah, bro,
[57:19] you're going to be a Bishop. One account even says he tried
[57:21] to flee the city, but then. I get away from everyone like
[57:24] wanting him to. He really did not want to be a
[57:26] Bishop. I'm out of here.
[57:28] He's like, this is not for me guys.
[57:29] I'm not, I'm not the guy, but he eventually what, what's
[57:32] beautiful about his story is he eventually recognized, OK, this
[57:35] is the role that God is calling me to.
[57:37] And even if I feel like I'm not prepared, I need to rely on
[57:40] God's grace to prepare me and also Start learning about the
[57:43] faith and, and you know, learning the things I need to
[57:46] learn to be an effective Bishop. And so he did all of those
[57:49] things. He started reading, he started
[57:50] obviously devoutly praying. And he has a beautiful Mary
[57:54] Ology as well. His writings are absolutely
[57:55] excellent. And, and now he's a doctor of
[57:57] the church. He is, it is attributed to his
[58:00] preaching that Saint Augustine converted, he baptized St.
[58:03] Augustine and he's had this huge impact on the church, like
[58:06] Gregorian chant was inspired by Ambrosian chant, which came from
[58:10] Saint Ambrose of Milan. He's had this huge impact on the
[58:12] church. And it was all from this role
[58:14] that God was calling, telling him to that he felt unprepared
[58:16] for, that he eventually submitted to God's will and
[58:19] said, all right, I'm going to do this.
[58:20] So I think it's a great example, like especially if if someone's,
[58:24] you know, becoming a parent, maybe unexpectedly, if someone
[58:26] is getting married and maybe doesn't feel ready or something,
[58:29] you know, whatever role God might be calling somebody to and
[58:31] they don't feel ready. I think he's a great example for
[58:33] people like that as like what to do, you know, pray to God, seek
[58:38] knowledge, and, you know, submit to God's will.
[58:41] Yeah, and that's a beautiful story.
[58:43] I hadn't heard it in that kind of detail before.
[58:46] And it just, it really does go to show you.
[58:48] You have no idea. Now, I I saw something today
[58:50] that God answers prayers. Yes, no.
[58:53] And not yet. And we always forget about the
[58:55] not yet. And it's like, oh, I'm not ready
[58:56] for this. I'm not OK, Maybe right this
[58:58] moment you don't feel ready. But I know what's best for you.
[59:01] You know, God will fulfill your heart's desires and your heart's
[59:03] desires are his will. So it'll all make sense.
[59:07] And I I mean. And beautiful things come from
[59:11] it, too. Yeah, beautiful things come from
[59:13] it. Like, like I said, St.
[59:14] Ambrose baptized St. Augustine.
[59:16] Saint Augustine inspired St. Thomas Aquinas like 1000 years
[59:19] later. So if it wasn't for Saint
[59:20] Ambrose, maybe, maybe there's no Saint Augustine.
[59:22] If it wasn't for Saint Ambrose, maybe there's no St.
[59:24] Thomas Aquinas. That's.
[59:26] Right. So you're what you're doing now
[59:29] in fulfilling what God is calling you to do is going to
[59:31] have an impact on, you know, for thousands of years after
[59:34] provided Christ doesn't return before then, but it's going to
[59:36] have a lasting impact if you just submit to God's will and
[59:39] and fulfill is the role that he has for you.
[59:41] Amen. So say yes.
[59:42] And then my last question that I had is if you had you mean you
[59:46] have been through I am a cradle Catholic, so I always say my
[59:50] story snoozefest. You have had different walks of
[59:53] life there. So if you had one piece of
[59:55] advice for someone who is not Catholic, but maybe thinking
[59:59] about it or looking into it, what would your advice be to
[1:00:01] them? And to just your regular old
[1:00:04] Catholic, you know, practicing Catholic, what would your advice
[1:00:06] be to them as well? Or would it be the same for
[1:00:08] both? I don't know.
[1:00:09] Wow. Yeah.
[1:00:10] So somebody looking into Catholicism, I think we we get
[1:00:13] too caught up. We talked about this little bit
[1:00:14] earlier, but we get too caught up with the head knowledge.
[1:00:16] I think you really have to go and experience it.
[1:00:18] And, and I'm not saying that people need to neglect learning
[1:00:22] about the faith or like that inquiry into the faith is, is
[1:00:25] bad because, oh, maybe you're going to find out it's not true
[1:00:27] or something. The faith has lasted 2000 years.
[1:00:29] It's going to, it's going to withstand any type of
[1:00:31] questioning or disagreement you might have.
[1:00:34] It's important to approach it with an open heart and think
[1:00:37] about it this way. When Jesus Christ was on earth
[1:00:40] and disciples were following him, he was increasing it in the
[1:00:43] numbers. If you were to go to those
[1:00:44] people and say, Hey, how do you explain what this guy's saying
[1:00:47] about the Sabbath? They'd probably be like, I don't
[1:00:49] know, but he's the Messiah. I know that he's the Messiah.
[1:00:51] So I'm going to submit to him. If you were to go to them and
[1:00:54] say, Hey, what do you, what was he talking about with this hole?
[1:00:56] You have to eat his flesh and drink his blood stuff, even even
[1:00:59] the apostles themselves. When Jesus turns to the apostles
[1:01:01] and says are you going to leave too?
[1:01:03] They don't say no, but we understand this Jesus.
[1:01:05] This totally makes sense. They they just said, well, to
[1:01:08] whom shall we go? You have the words of life.
[1:01:10] So your perfect understanding of the Catholic faith isn't
[1:01:16] required for you to convert, just as the understanding,
[1:01:19] perfect understanding of what Jesus was saying while he was on
[1:01:22] earth wasn't required to follow him.
[1:01:24] It's submission, exactly what it comes down to a submission.
[1:01:27] So don't be like, well, I really want to become Catholic, but I
[1:01:33] don't understand what this Pope said in 1312 and what this whole
[1:01:39] thing like you're doing the wrong thing, man.
[1:01:41] Because if that's your attitude, you would you would not have
[1:01:43] followed Jesus Christ when he was on earth.
[1:01:45] Yeah. So that's what I would say
[1:01:48] there. And actually, I'm shouting out
[1:01:50] so many books in this, in this, in this conversation.
[1:01:52] But great, I'll link. I will.
[1:01:53] Now you're giving me work. Now I'm going to go link them
[1:01:56] all so they can they can find them.
[1:01:58] But Pope Peter by Joe Heschmeyer, the first chapter is
[1:02:02] all about this and it's he lays it out very beautifully that
[1:02:06] yeah, if your attitude is, I need to understand everything
[1:02:08] before converting, that's not the right attitude.
[1:02:11] Your attitude should be, is this the church that Jesus Christ
[1:02:13] founded? If so, then it's not up to my
[1:02:16] understanding before I submit to its teachings.
[1:02:18] I submit to its teachings and then I seek to understand.
[1:02:20] That should be the approach, just as if you were in the 1st
[1:02:22] century, you would submit to Christ and then seek to
[1:02:24] understand. So that's what I would say to
[1:02:25] people who are inquiring about the Catholic faith, to those who
[1:02:29] are in the Catholic faiths or who are cradle Catholics, I
[1:02:32] don't know. Good job, Good job guys.
[1:02:36] Go to Math Sunday. Just yeah, avoid, avoid, try to
[1:02:40] try to avoid pride. Pray the Rosary.
[1:02:42] The Rosary is so beautiful. Another book I'll shout out that
[1:02:44] I just finished. Actually, I finished listening
[1:02:47] to it. I didn't read it.
[1:02:47] I listen to it. I get upset when people say that
[1:02:49] they're read books that they actually listen to, but it's The
[1:02:53] Power of the Rosary by Gabriel Castillo.
[1:02:57] Very, very. It's a white book with a blue
[1:03:00] and he's in the front with his hands like this.
[1:03:03] The cover looks. Different.
[1:03:04] Listen to it. You listen to it.
[1:03:06] Would you know what the cover looks like?
[1:03:08] Yeah. I think he refers himself as the
[1:03:10] Latin lover of Our Lady. Swear.
[1:03:12] OK, I didn't. I it has to be the same one.
[1:03:16] I'm going to have to ask my husband.
[1:03:18] But I, I actually linked that book on my stories and there was
[1:03:22] like 5 copies. It was on Amazon.
[1:03:24] It was like $250 because there was like one or two.
[1:03:26] That's all that there was. So I've never been able to find
[1:03:29] it. So I don't know.
[1:03:30] It was an audio book. So now I'm going to look it up.
[1:03:31] But anyways, yeah. So read that book, you would say
[1:03:34] to them. Yeah, for like current, it may
[1:03:36] be your current practicing Catholic and you're just like,
[1:03:39] yeah, how do I just how do I go a little bit deeper?
[1:03:41] How do I deepen my relationship with Christ?
[1:03:42] Obviously the sacraments go to confession and as often as
[1:03:45] possible, even if you don't have mortal sins to confess.
[1:03:48] It's just such a beautiful thing.
[1:03:50] Eucharistic adoration. I don't go to Eucharistic
[1:03:52] adoration enough. I need to go more and more.
[1:03:54] Obviously Sunday Mass, daily Mass if possible.
[1:03:57] These are all things that I fall short.
[1:03:58] And by the way, I'm not saying this is if I'm like, hey, look
[1:04:00] at me, I'm do I do these things? That's why I'm so great.
[1:04:02] No, these are things I need to do more.
[1:04:03] And the rosary is just so beautiful.
[1:04:05] Just like, yeah, deep in your faith through these things.
[1:04:08] If you want to deep in your knowledge of the faith, you got
[1:04:11] great YouTube channels like Anna Munley's, Anna Munley's
[1:04:13] Instagram you got, Hopefully I'm helpful and just invite other
[1:04:17] people into it and the people you care about.
[1:04:19] This is the most important thing that you could share with them.
[1:04:22] So do that. Yeah, that's great.
[1:04:23] OK, well, to wrap up, where can everybody find you?
[1:04:27] What's your? And again, I'll link everything
[1:04:29] in the description of course, but yeah, let everybody know.
[1:04:32] I'm everywhere at Sips with Sarah.
[1:04:34] Sarah is spelled Serra, named after Hunipro Sarah, who's
[1:04:38] another great St. He's one of my favorites as well
[1:04:40] the the great Californian missionary.
[1:04:43] So yeah, sips with Sarah everywhere.
[1:04:44] I'm I'm on YouTube, Instagram X Patreon.
