[0:00] Hi, guys, and welcome back to Aftermath, the podcast for
[0:02] Catholics who want more than just faith on Sundays.
[0:05] I'm your host, Anna, and I miss you guys.
[0:08] I didn't post an episode last week.
[0:10] That was the first thing I wanted to share.
[0:12] I was supposed to. My mic broke.
[0:14] This thing has been a hassle, but that's neither here nor
[0:19] there. I didn't make an announcement
[0:21] because I didn't really think that people would notice, but
[0:23] much to my surprise, a lot of you messaged me and emailed me
[0:27] and left comments on my socials and that was really
[0:29] heartwarming. But everything is fine.
[0:32] I just had some technical difficulties and now I'm back up
[0:34] and running. If there's ever another time
[0:36] where I won't be able to post on Tuesdays, I will make sure to
[0:40] kind of announce it for everyone.
[0:42] That was the first thing I wanted to mention.
[0:44] And the second thing is that this sweatshirt here let me move
[0:47] my mic. Let's hope it doesn't ruin it.
[0:53] So this sweatshirt here, my sister-in-law and I, we designed
[0:57] them. It just says Catholic.
[0:58] It's a mock neck. But we have had a long history
[1:01] of creating our own custom merch for like family events.
[1:05] For my wedding, because it was during COVID, we created a zip
[1:09] up that's on the back. It said wish you were here with
[1:12] our last name and the date we got married and just just like
[1:15] family vacations, baby showers, things like that.
[1:18] We've always kind of created this like custom merch just for
[1:21] us. And so we created this.
[1:24] I just wanted one that had in these like collegiate type
[1:26] letters, just Catholic, just Catholic, just like that.
[1:30] And we couldn't find anything. So we created our own and can
[1:35] you see it? I try like my mic is block is
[1:37] blocking the way, but it's posted all over my socials.
[1:39] But anywho, so a lot of you guys reached out wanting to know
[1:43] where you could buy 1. So I enlisted my sister-in-law.
[1:46] She created like a whole professional looking website
[1:49] where you guys can put in your e-mail.
[1:51] So if you're interested, I'm going to put the link in my bio.
[1:53] The link is also on my socials and I wanted to just kind of get
[1:56] that out of the way because I did get some questions on it on
[1:58] YouTube as well. But yeah, now let's get into the
[2:01] actual episode. So today we're going to be
[2:09] talking about something that every single one of us faces at
[2:11] some point in our lives, and that's how to actually keep your
[2:15] faith alive when your life doesn't look like anyone else's.
[2:18] You know, faith is not this one-size-fits-all thing.
[2:20] And the way that we live out our Catholic faith in a college dorm
[2:23] is not the same as when we're in a corporate office or when we're
[2:27] raising little kids or moving somewhere on vacation.
[2:30] And I know that these times during our life won't all apply
[2:35] to you at once, but this is by far the most common question
[2:37] that I get. And so I've been able to find
[2:39] some really good resources for each season of life, if you
[2:42] will. And I think sometimes we assume
[2:44] that holiness kind of looks like one very specific lifestyle, but
[2:48] the reality is that God meets you exactly where you are.
[2:52] So in this episode, we're going to be talking about how to stay
[2:55] rooted in Christ no matter what your circumstances look like,
[2:59] whether you're in college, navigating the workplace, the
[3:03] only Catholic in your family, if you're on vacation, you're
[3:06] starting a young family, all of those sorts of things.
[3:09] So I'm going to share some practical things that you can
[3:12] do, real ministries that you can kind of get plugged into, and
[3:15] even how to start your own community if nothing exists
[3:18] where you are. Because faith doesn't survive on
[3:21] autopilot, you have to fight for it.
[3:23] So we're going to start off with college because if there is one
[3:27] place where faith can either grow roots or completely dry up,
[3:30] it's in those years. So if you're living in the
[3:32] dorms, you already know the pressure.
[3:35] Everyone around you is pulling all nighters parting on the
[3:37] weekends and faith can feel like something that you kind of have
[3:40] to hide. But the reality is that college
[3:42] is one of the best opportunities you'll ever have to go deep with
[3:46] your faith because you're being tested.
[3:49] You're being pushed to actually decide, am I Catholic just
[3:53] because I grew up that way or am I Catholic because I believe
[3:56] that this is the truth. So practically, here are some
[3:58] things that you can do. You can find out if your school
[4:00] has a Newman Center or a Catholic campus ministry.
[4:04] Most universities do, and that's, it's going to be your
[4:07] home base, daily. Mass adoration, confession,
[4:10] Bible studies, they are all right there.
[4:13] And if your school doesn't have one, that's where organizations
[4:15] like Focus FOCUS. It's the Fellowship of Catholic
[4:19] University Students. That's where that organization
[4:23] comes in. So they are are campuses across
[4:26] the US. They literally walk with you in
[4:28] discipleship. I actually follow this girl on
[4:31] TikTok. Her name is Daniela.
[4:32] I will put her social here. She is a Catholic missionary
[4:36] with focus. And recently she posted a video
[4:39] all about her journey, all about being a Catholic missionary.
[4:41] And she mentioned how instrumental focus was in her
[4:45] own faith journey. So definitely check her out.
[4:47] Now if you're a commuter, your challenge looks a little bit
[4:51] different. You know, you're not surrounded
[4:53] by people in college for seven, but it's still really easy to
[4:56] feel isolated. So my advice is to anchor
[4:59] yourself in a local parish, either near your school or your
[5:02] work or your home. You know, stop in for daily
[5:04] Mass, even if it's once a week. Make adoration a part of your,
[5:08] maybe your study rhythm. Bring a Bible or rosary with you
[5:12] to campus. So faith isn't something that
[5:14] you just leave at home. It's something that you carry
[5:17] with you. And if none of these things
[5:19] exist where you are, don't let that be the excuse.
[5:24] Start small. Grab one friends from a class
[5:27] and maybe read through the gospels together at the library.
[5:30] Or post a flyer in the library for a Bible study.
[5:33] See if there's already one there and you just don't know about
[5:36] it. Even starting something as
[5:38] simple as a weekly rosary night can change other people's lives
[5:42] and introduce you to potentially lifelong friendships.
[5:46] And it's not just changing other people's lives, but it's also
[5:49] your own life. It's the lives of people that
[5:52] you never imagined would maybe show up as well.
[5:55] So it's definitely something to keep in mind.
[5:57] The whole point is that in college you will be surrounded
[6:00] by 1000 different voices telling you what actually matters.
[6:04] So don't let the voice of God be the one that gets drowned out.
[6:07] Make prayer a complete non negotiable.
[6:10] Make community a priority and don't be afraid to stand out,
[6:14] because that's exactly what Saints do.
[6:17] Now let's talk about something that a lot of you have written
[6:19] to me about, and that's being the only Catholic.
[6:23] Whether in your family or your friend group, maybe you're the
[6:26] only Catholic voice in your entire circle, which can feel
[6:30] incredibly isolating. You own a Mass Sunday, you come
[6:34] back and nobody gets it. You're the odd one out, being
[6:39] the only Catholic. It doesn't mean that you're
[6:42] alone, it just means that God is trusting you to be a light.
[6:46] So how do you actually live out that faith without feeling like
[6:51] you're drowning? My first piece of advice is to
[6:54] stay grounded in the sacraments. Confession, Eucharist,
[6:58] adoration. Those are the life lines that
[7:00] keep you connected to Christ. When the people around you don't
[7:03] share your faith #2 Don't underestimate the power of an
[7:07] online Catholic community. I know it's easy to think of
[7:10] TikTok, Instagram, YouTube as just entertainment, but
[7:13] honestly, these are platforms that have become the modern town
[7:17] square. And one of the very first online
[7:20] Catholic communities that I ever joined was a Discord server that
[7:24] was started by this guy. His name is Aaron.
[7:26] I came across him on TikTok and this Discord.
[7:29] It sends rosary pings so you can pray with others in the group.
[7:34] There's and there's over 150 people on the server and it's
[7:38] just a little reminder that you need that.
[7:40] I might feel alone out here, maybe in my real day-to-day
[7:44] life, but I'm not alone. I'm not crazy, you know, and
[7:47] that's the kind of thing that you need when your real life
[7:50] circles don't get it #3 live your faith quietly but visibly.
[7:56] You don't. You don't need to be this loud
[7:57] and proud, you know, person who's preaching at everyone.
[8:00] But don't hide either. Where the crucifix make the sign
[8:03] of the cross. Before meals, wear a sweatshirt
[8:06] like this that says Catholic. Keep Friday's meatless, even if
[8:09] someone's ordering burgers. Those little acts really speak
[8:12] louder than you think. And if you're in a position
[8:15] where no one is feeding you spiritually, then start
[8:19] something. It doesn't have to be huge, but
[8:22] start a rosary group or host a Bible study.
[8:25] Invite one person into prayer. You never know who is hungry for
[8:28] God but is too afraid to admit it.
[8:30] When I moved to Florida I wanted to join a Bible study but my
[8:34] parish didn't have one. They just, I mean there were a
[8:37] lot in town from non denominational parishes.
[8:40] But I wanted a Catholic Bible study.
[8:42] So I took the leap and I started 1 and it has been such a gift.
[8:45] And we're going on our second year.
[8:47] So again, bottom line is that being the only Catholic is not a
[8:51] punishment. Look at it as a mission.
[8:53] God put you there on purpose. And if you stay rooted in him,
[8:57] your quiet witness will do way more than you can imagine.
[9:01] Now let's move into the workplace.
[9:03] Because if college tests your faith, the corporate world will
[9:07] try to smother it. You know the culture.
[9:10] Productivity is everything, money is everything, Success is
[9:14] everything. And there's a lot of wokeness
[9:18] going on in corporate America. Faith is not something that's
[9:22] celebrated in most offices. And if anything, it's treated as
[9:26] something that's very private that you should just keep to
[9:28] yourself. But your workplace can be one of
[9:30] the greatest mission fields that you'll ever step into.
[9:33] And the way that you live out your Catholic faith there really
[9:36] does matter. So what does that look like in
[9:38] practice? It starts with the small things.
[9:41] Pray the Angelus at lunch. Set aside a few minutes in your
[9:44] car before you walk into the office and just offer your day
[9:47] to God. Keep a rosary in your desk
[9:49] drawer, maybe a little prayer card on your desk.
[9:52] Wear your crucifix or miraculous metal.
[9:55] These little signs remind you and other people who you are,
[10:00] but they can also spark conversations that you might not
[10:03] have expected in a very non aggressive, non offensive way.
[10:07] Another wonderful example of somebody that I came across
[10:10] online, her name is Kai Summer. It's KAII think that's how you
[10:14] pronounce it. But she is on Instagram as a
[10:16] corporate you could it's like at a corporate Catholic.
[10:20] Oh, sorry, at a corporate Catholic.
[10:23] And she's always reminding you and showing you how God is with
[10:26] you all the time on the road during work, you know, in the
[10:30] middle of the day, she goes to mass on her lunch break or
[10:33] adoration confession, all of the things and she kind of takes you
[10:36] along through her day-to-day. So I think having examples of
[10:40] that, especially online mind where it doesn't cost you
[10:42] anything to follow someone like that, and it can be really
[10:45] inspiring to see how others live out their faith.
[10:47] That's why I'm such a big social media person.
[10:50] Like I, I just love sharing other people who are walking in
[10:54] their faith in the day-to-day and kind of share that with
[10:57] others because it can be really, really inspiring.
[10:59] Now when it comes to the community aspect of work, don't
[11:02] think that you're on your own because there are ministries
[11:05] that were built specifically for Catholics in the workplace.
[11:08] One of my favorites is the Young Catholic Professionals for YCP.
[11:12] They're in cities all over the US, and they gather for
[11:15] networking and talks and spiritual formation, and it's an
[11:18] incredible way to meet other Catholics who are navigating the
[11:21] same challenges that you are. Another one worth checking out
[11:24] is the Catholic Fellowship, especially in big cities like
[11:28] New York. They host Bible studies,
[11:30] volunteer events, and socials that keep you rooted when you're
[11:35] 9 to 5 feels really spiritually empty.
[11:38] And again, if nothing exists where you are, then start
[11:42] something. You know, you can reach out to
[11:43] all of these organizations and say, listen, my city doesn't
[11:46] have this and I want to start something.
[11:49] You know, what resources do you have to support me in doing
[11:51] this? See if they're open to opening
[11:53] up new chapters or new areas where this is what they focus on
[11:56] because that's what they're there for.
[11:58] Holiness is not reserved for monks or nuns.
[12:00] It's for accountants and nurses and managers and teachers and
[12:04] tech workers and you and the way you bring Christ into your
[12:07] office, into your meetings, into your daily grind.
[12:11] That's where God is glorified. So don't leave your faith in the
[12:15] car when you swipe your badge in.
[12:16] Bring your faith with you and live it and watch what God does
[12:20] with your yes. Now let's talk about young
[12:23] families. Because if you have ever tried
[12:25] to pray a rosary with toddlers, it does not feel holy.
[12:30] If anything, I walk away saying, was I too impatient?
[12:33] Did I just sin? Why am I so frustrated?
[12:36] I need to go pray by myself now to undo all of the frustrations
[12:40] that I just felt trying to pray with my kids.
[12:42] It feels chaotic. Someone's crying, someone's
[12:45] spilling juice, and then you're sitting there and wondering,
[12:48] does this even count as prayer? But it does.
[12:52] I've talked to my priest about it.
[12:53] I've looked this up and yes, it does count holiness and family
[12:57] life. It does not look polished.
[12:59] It looks messy and loud and very real.
[13:03] But again, that's exactly where God meets you.
[13:06] So how do you keep your faith alive in this season?
[13:11] You start by weaving prayer into your normal rhythm.
[13:14] So morning offering with the kids at breakfast, a Hail Mary
[13:19] before bed. We do a Hail Mary when I'm
[13:21] brushing my daughter's hair every day when she after her
[13:24] bath. You know, even if it's five
[13:26] seconds long, it plants roots. And don't underestimate how much
[13:31] your children absorb, even when they look distracted.
[13:34] And, of course, look for ministries designed for young
[13:38] families. That's where we met our best,
[13:41] bestest friends here in Florida. We joined the Young Family
[13:45] ministry. Now I'm about to turn 37.
[13:47] My husband just turned 38. And I remember when he came
[13:51] home, he was like, we need to join the Young Family Ministry.
[13:53] I said, sweetie, have you looked in the mirror?
[13:55] We are covered in Gray hair. We are not young, but it was
[14:00] families with young children. So if you see young family
[14:03] ministry, don't be alarmed if you're in your, you know, 30s
[14:06] and 40s. It's, it's not about the family
[14:09] being young, It's about the children being young.
[14:11] And so you can find other Catholic families who also have
[14:14] children the same age as yours. And that's what we did.
[14:17] And we have found our very, very bestest friend that I'm
[14:19] eternally grateful for that. But a lot of diocese do have
[14:23] these ministries designed for young families, either family
[14:26] life ministries, young Catholic families, or even just parish
[14:30] play groups. I know that in Chicago there's a
[14:32] ministry that's literally called Young Catholic Families.
[14:35] And in Denver, I believe it was the archdiocese.
[14:38] He has a whole office of marriage and family life that
[14:40] creates events for not only parents but also the kids, of
[14:44] course. And so these ministries exist so
[14:46] you don't feel like you're doing it all alone.
[14:48] And you know what I'm going to say?
[14:50] If your parish doesn't have anything, be the one who starts
[14:54] it. Invite a couple families over
[14:56] for dinner and pray together before the meal.
[14:58] Start a Saturday morning rosary at the park while the kids run
[15:02] around. Or you can even rotate hosting a
[15:04] family Bible study just once a month.
[15:06] You know none of this stuff has to be every single week and
[15:10] doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be intentional
[15:13] when you're in this season. I know from my own personal
[15:16] experience, it's very easy to feel like your spiritual life is
[15:19] on hold until your kids get older, but that's not the case.
[15:23] Your family is your spiritual life and every diaper changed,
[15:27] every sleepless night, every moment of sacrifice, those are
[15:31] hidden prayers that echo into eternity.
[15:34] And I've also found that incorporating faith into their
[15:37] playtime has been really, really beneficial.
[15:41] So I found this company and none of these that I'm mentioning,
[15:45] like none of these people or companies are sponsored in any
[15:48] way. I hope it's OK.
[15:49] I'm sharing all their information, but I found this
[15:52] one company on Instagram, a Catholic small shop.
[15:54] It's called gather and pray again, I'll put it here on the
[15:57] screen. But they create these beautiful
[16:00] items that are really toys. But I recently bought a wooden
[16:04] rosary board. And when I tell you my daughter
[16:06] and I have been doing it about 50 times since I got it last
[16:09] week and she just loves and you just put this, I'll try and put
[16:13] I took a video. So I'll try and put it here on
[16:14] the screen if I can figure it out.
[16:15] But it's just, it's just great. So if you look for these things,
[16:18] whether it's people on social media or, or businesses, small
[16:22] businesses, they are, we're all going through the same thing in
[16:26] in one way or another. So definitely just try and fill
[16:29] your feed online anyways with these types of people who to
[16:32] inspire you and provide resources that we normally might
[16:36] not even I had never thought about a wooden rosary board
[16:38] until I saw it. So I got it and you know, it's
[16:41] been fantastic. So anyways, all of that to say
[16:44] that if your prayer life doesn't look like it used to because you
[16:47] are a mom or a dad to small children, don't get discouraged.
[16:52] It's not supposed to be the same all of the time.
[16:55] My kids sometimes don't want to go to Mass.
[16:56] They don't want to read the books, the stories from the
[16:59] Bible. They don't want to do anything.
[17:01] They just want to be left alone. And I'm like, why am I doing a
[17:04] bad job? Like, what do you mean?
[17:06] You don't want to say the Hail Mary today?
[17:07] You know, yesterday you couldn't stop saying it, and today you're
[17:10] over it. So, you know, it can get really
[17:12] frustrating, but you're planting the seeds, you're planting the
[17:15] roots, and that's all that matters.
[17:17] Now, let's move on to the single season.
[17:19] Now, obviously I'm not single, but I've talked to a couple
[17:22] people that are and I've thought about it and I've prayed about
[17:26] it. And I want anybody who's
[17:27] experiencing the single season in their life to know that it's
[17:30] not a waiting room for real life to begin.
[17:32] It's not punishment. It's not God putting you on the
[17:36] bench. It's just a season with its own
[17:39] purpose. And if you waste it by wishing
[17:42] it away, you might miss what God's trying to give to you
[17:45] right now. So the beauty of being single,
[17:49] which you should appreciate since I just talked about how
[17:51] hard it is to pray with small kids.
[17:54] So the beauty is that your time and your energy are yours to
[17:58] give completely to God. You don't have the same
[18:02] responsibilities as a spouse or a parent, which means that you
[18:05] can really pour yourself into prayer, into service and growth
[18:11] in a way that's much harder in other seasons of life, if that
[18:15] makes sense. You know, that might look like
[18:17] signing up for Bible study at your parish.
[18:20] Again, I mentioned Bible study in like every scenario of life,
[18:23] but it's just so wonderful. Or maybe joining a young adult
[18:27] group. And a lot of diocese actually
[18:30] have them. And I want to share one resource
[18:33] if you've heard of it. It's called Theology on Tap.
[18:36] It's casual, it's social, but it's also formation.
[18:40] So it can also look like volunteering your parish.
[18:43] They need lectors and catechists or choir members, you know,
[18:47] people to serve the poor. If you're single, you have the
[18:50] freedom to say yes in a way that blesses your community and
[18:53] really stretches your faith. And then there's online
[18:56] communities. You know, don't sleep on those.
[18:58] Join Catholic Facebook groups. I know Facebook is outdated, the
[19:01] younger generations like ill Facebook, but I promise you
[19:05] Facebook is really useful if you, you know, if you have a
[19:08] little niche or community that you're trying to find Catholic
[19:11] tik tokers and Youtubers and Instagramers.
[19:13] You know, I don't like to call people Catholic influencers, but
[19:17] really I just don't know anything aside from a Catholic
[19:20] content creator. I don't know, like I don't know
[19:22] what to categorize myself. I will melt into my seat anytime
[19:26] that someone refers to me as a Catholic influencers that I'm
[19:28] like, I'm influencing people to, you know, dive deeper into their
[19:31] faith, but I'm not an influencer.
[19:33] It's just really awkward. But anyways, we are all out
[19:35] there. You know, you can find someone
[19:37] that's your cup of tea that is living the same type of season
[19:40] that you're in. You know, whether it's YouTube,
[19:42] Instagram, TikTok, whatever comment, interact.
[19:45] Some of the strongest faith friendships that people have
[19:47] built in this generation have started online.
[19:49] So don't be shy. And if again, if nothing exists,
[19:53] then make a Facebook group, start a TikTok, you know, prayer
[19:57] request group, you know, if it's a group chat or or whatever.
[20:02] Sometimes God is calling you to build the very thing that you're
[20:06] longing for. So singleness is not a season to
[20:09] just pass the time up until marriage or religious life shows
[20:13] up. It's a season to go all in with
[20:16] Jesus, to become the kind of Saint who can handle whatever
[20:20] vocation. He calls you into next.
[20:22] So don't waste it, you know, live it fully, live it
[20:26] faithfully and let God stretch you here and now.
[20:30] Now let's talk about this isn't necessarily a season, but a
[20:33] thing that I've come across. And that's when you're either
[20:35] traveling abroad or just not vacationing in general.
[20:39] You know, when you're on the road, whether it's just with
[20:42] family for a vacation or you're, you know, my husband travels for
[20:46] work every month. He's gone for about a week.
[20:49] If you're overseas, you know, like studying abroad or even a
[20:54] mission trip, it's really easy to let your faith slide into the
[20:59] background because you're out of your routine or you're in a
[21:02] different time zone. You know, prayer suddenly is,
[21:06] like, take such a backseat. But travel is not a break from
[21:11] your faith. It's an opportunity to see how
[21:13] universal the Catholic Church really is.
[21:16] So one of the things that I always use when I'm traveling is
[21:20] this app called Mass Times. I'll put it here.
[21:23] You can also do it like on the desktop, but masstimes.org, you
[21:27] can find all the Catholic parishes near wherever you are
[21:32] and it takes you not only write to their website, but it gives
[21:35] you their hours for the sacraments, for Mass, for daily
[21:38] Mass, for the sacrament of reconciliation, adoration,
[21:41] etcetera, gives you the distance from where you are.
[21:44] And having these resources really make sure that you stay
[21:47] on track because just because you're on a break from life in
[21:51] general, if you're on vacation or going abroad or what have
[21:54] you, that doesn't mean you're on a break from your faith.
[21:57] If you're somewhere like abroad, you know, overseas, seek out
[22:01] Catholic communities over there. If you're in a big city, look
[22:05] for English speaking masses. You know, Rome has Saint
[22:07] Patrick's, Paris has Saint Joseph's, and even places like
[22:11] Tokyo, Dubai, Madrid, all of them have parishes serving
[22:14] expats. You know, these communities are
[22:17] incredible because they remind you that you're part of a church
[22:21] that spans every culture and the nation.
[22:25] So just keep that in mind and let travel itself become a
[22:29] prayer. If you're able to visit shrines,
[22:32] go on a pilgrimage, try a new Catholic parish near you and
[22:36] offer your inconveniences, whether it's delayed flights,
[22:39] language barriers, exhaustion, offer all of these as sacrifices
[22:43] for souls. You know, even your suitcase can
[22:45] become kind of an altar when you offer your journey to God.
[22:49] So when you travel, don't put your faith on pause.
[22:52] Bring it with you and let it shape the way that you see the
[22:55] world. Catholicism is not just for your
[22:57] hometown parish. It is everywhere and there is
[23:00] something life changing about discovering the truth first
[23:03] hand. So the biggest take away here is
[23:04] that if you don't see the community that you're looking
[23:07] for, then make it and start it. Because chances are there are 10
[23:11] other Catholics around you who are also praying for the exact
[23:15] same thing that you are. And when you say yes, you're not
[23:17] just building a group, you're building the church.
[23:20] And that's what I want to leave you with.
[23:22] Faith doesn't survive on autopilot.
[23:24] It's not just something that you can coast with and expect it to
[23:28] stay alive no matter what season you're in.
[23:31] College, corporate, single, married, travel, relocating.
[23:35] Your faith has to be chosen again and again.
[23:39] And that choice, it doesn't have to be complicated.
[23:42] It can just look like showing up for Mass when you're tired, or
[23:45] praying the rosary when it feels awkward.
[23:47] Sing us to a Bible study when you don't know a single soul in
[23:50] the room you know, or maybe starting something yourself when
[23:53] nothing exists around you. Your circumstances do not define
[23:57] your holiness. But your consistency does.
[24:01] God will meet you in every single season of your life, but
[24:04] only if you let Him. In the dorm, in the boardroom,
[24:08] at the dinner table with toddlers who are screaming, in
[24:12] an airport on your way to another country.
[24:15] He is there. So the question is, will you
[24:17] show up for him? And remember, you're not doing
[24:19] any of this alone. There are ministries,
[24:22] communities, and tools everywhere, both in person and
[24:25] online that exists to keep you rooted.
[24:28] So if you can't find one, that's maybe God's way of asking you to
[24:32] start 1. So this week, I'm going to leave
[24:34] you with a little bit of a challenge.
[24:35] Pick one concrete way to anchor your faith in your current
[24:38] season. Just just one thing.
[24:40] Maybe it's finding a Newman Center.
[24:42] Maybe it's joining the young Catholic professionals or young
[24:45] family ministry. Maybe it's just grabbing one
[24:47] friend to pray the rosary. Whatever it is, just take the
[24:51] step. Saints are not made in ideal
[24:53] circumstances. They are made in real life in
[24:57] the mess, in the struggle, in the grind of the everyday
[24:59] faithfulness that we try and live out.
[25:01] And that's exactly where God wants to make you a St. to.
[25:05] So that is all I have for today. If you have any questions or
[25:09] comments or whatever, send me an e-mail to
[25:12] theaftermasspodcast@gmail.com. I love hearing from you guys and
[25:17] I try and respond as soon as I can anytime I get something.
[25:20] And if this episode resonated with you or if I covered a
[25:22] season that maybe someone you know is currently in, then share
[25:25] it with them and let them know that they're not alone.
[25:27] So that is it for today. Thank you so much for being here
[25:31] and I will see you after Mass.
