## Transcript

[0:56] The. Yo-yo, Jerrod, how's it going
[1:03] man? Long time no see.
[1:06] Yeah, you know, had a little vacation time, which was nice
[1:12] back, you know, watching this dumpster fire of a club and
[1:16] organization do I don't even know what this is.
[1:20] So this team is so unlikable and so unwatchable.
[1:27] Like it is something that is not bringing any kind of joy.
[1:32] And you know, we'll get into the bigger picture stuff.
[1:34] So we can, you know, of course, but like just everything about
[1:39] this whole season has just been crap.
[1:43] We're, we're being honest, right?
[1:45] With the exception of and look, this is not about us being sort
[1:48] of like choppy homers or choppy truthers.
[1:51] But when we had won 13 to 14 to 14 to 15, whatever it was, yes,
[1:57] you could say that it didn't look fun.
[2:00] But the underlying metrics suggested A-Team heading in the
[2:04] right direction, right? In terms of shot generation and
[2:07] creation, chances created XG, and more importantly, said
[2:12] chances given up, which were literally next to nothing,
[2:15] right? Because we were able to control
[2:16] the ball and or win it back whenever we lost it and all
[2:20] that's gone and now we're just sort of random, haphazard.
[2:23] Whatever happens, happens. Yeah, that's what's going on.
[2:27] And today was horrible because this is like a relegation
[2:30] threatened team, literally. They're like in what, 16th or
[2:33] 17th place? Playing relegation threatened
[2:37] didn't look good until they had 10 men.
[2:40] And not even then, Sid, we had 10 men for 19 minutes and could
[2:44] not control the ball effectively like they were down a man.
[2:49] I mean, look, this is not about oh, tactic goes versus this, and
[2:53] I hate how certain fans like to reduce it to that kind of thing.
[2:57] It's what we talk about all the time, Sid.
[2:58] This team cannot string together 2 passes in a row against ten
[3:03] men. You What are we doing?
[3:06] Yeah, yeah. And you know, I just put up
[3:09] Ushroff's visual of like our relative metrics comparison and
[3:14] you know, we were better at ball, slightly more ball secure
[3:17] and press resistant under Carlo. But I mean we still had
[3:20] moderates who would be a godsend to this team right now.
[3:22] And then yeah, well this is just comparing last season.
[3:26] So no cruise. Yeah, but our defensive
[3:28] stability went up, our attacking threat went down slightly and
[3:33] our build up disruption went up a lot on.
[3:36] And so now it feels like they're just running around and trying
[3:41] to feed the stars like Gonzalo. A great example of like how much
[3:44] things have changed is Gonzalo Garcia now plays on the right
[3:47] wing. He is a right winger.
[3:48] He. That's not what he What are we
[3:50] doing like? He's a right winger and I just
[3:54] feel like player power has gone far too far.
[3:56] Now, I will say this, the burn about today was not happy.
[4:00] And I think like they were whistling everyone but Courtois
[4:05] before the game. And we're hearing this from
[4:07] people in the stadium, like multiple different people.
[4:10] So Courtois getting booed, Vinny's getting booed and and I
[4:14] think the optics. He's the only one not getting.
[4:17] Cortona's the only one not, and Vinny's getting a little more
[4:19] treatment, a little more targeted because the fans in the
[4:22] stadium feel like he's just dragged the institution through
[4:25] the mud with his negotiations and they don't feel his
[4:28] performance merited. But it's not just that.
[4:30] He's like going early in the game before we're up one nil and
[4:33] like, waving at the fans, like, stop booing, bro, That's not
[4:35] going to work anymore. What do you think you are?
[4:37] Are you some you think you're some magic wizard casting spells
[4:40] on the crowd? Go score a goal, Sid.
[4:42] I mean what she did. What are his overall counting
[4:46] stats this season? I think he's on like 11 goals
[4:50] and 9 assists or something. And you want $30 million a year
[4:54] for that kind of output? I'm sorry, man.
[4:57] Like I just don't like, you know, and this is not about
[5:01] Vinny as much as it is about what this organization is and
[5:08] has become. And, and really it's who, who
[5:10] they've always been. But because we've had
[5:13] generational people at certain positions, it is masked and
[5:16] covered a lot of this, right? You know, we, you and, and many
[5:20] people have talked about the absence of Cruz and Madrich over
[5:23] the last couple years, right? And what and what that means.
[5:27] And yes, my pushback was always ill, but Cruz and Madrich is
[5:31] don't exist on trees. Like it ain't like you can go
[5:33] get one right now that exists, right?
[5:35] They they're not there right. So this is what you have so and
[5:40] again, not to make this about Chapi Alonzo, but to go back
[5:43] Chapi Alonzo realize that right, he wanted to do a Mendy.
[5:45] They said, no, He said, all right, let me figure out how to
[5:48] work best with what I have to still do what I think is
[5:51] necessary for us to win games, which by the way, we were doing
[5:54] right, like and yet players wanted to buck because they
[5:58] didn't want to watch film. They wanted to go on vacation in
[6:01] the middle of the week. They didn't want to travel a day
[6:03] before. They wanted their friends and
[6:05] their and their family to hang around practice like and so I
[6:08] said a million times, Oh, I said this week on a tweet after we
[6:12] lost to Benfica, are the players having fun?
[6:15] Arbolo told us. I just told the players to go
[6:17] out and have fun. Hey, was today fun guys?
[6:20] Was that fun? Did you enjoy that?
[6:23] The the insane amount of gas lighting that you can just let
[6:25] the players do what they want when they're not good is
[6:29] ridiculous. And Lecante has a good tweet
[6:30] here just about just, you know, if you don't, if you have to
[6:34] optimize for a system, if you don't have the players.
[6:36] And that's what Zidane did when he came back, when Eden Hazard
[6:39] got hurt. He wasn't trying to develop
[6:41] Vinny when Vinny was too young. Yes, we had to change to Carlo
[6:44] to get that from Vinny, but now it's it's the same idea.
[6:48] You you do something for a few years in a row, stops working up
[6:50] to change. The other thing is the life
[6:51] cycle in football. I'm willing to accept that.
[6:54] You can try something like Carlos style, but the life cycle
[6:56] is like 3 years. It's not like you can't do that
[6:59] for 10 years. You need like we went Mourinho,
[7:02] then we went loose with Carlo, then we went Benitez, Slash,
[7:05] Zadan and Zadan. The first spell was looser but
[7:08] then we went for a more tactical Zadan before we got Carlos.
[7:10] So we basically got like a Mourinho style tactical
[7:14] schooling for the team before Carlo.
[7:16] Yeah, these guys just need to go to school, man.
[7:18] And and look, if you want to be able to play loose and free,
[7:23] then you need to have Benzema, Bale, Ronaldo, Cruz, Madrich, Di
[7:30] Maria, Marcelo, Eastco, sure, then you can do what the fuck
[7:34] ever you want, right? Because everybody that I just
[7:36] mentioned are among the best of the best ever played in their
[7:40] position, can control, have super high football.
[7:43] I QS like, OK, cool, do what you want to do.
[7:46] Nobody on this squad outside of Mbappe, right?
[7:50] And Courtois have that level on a consistent basis.
[7:55] So no, you can't just do whatever you got to do.
[7:58] I have that to your sense point. I have to optimize what you do
[8:01] well. And I want to be clear, we have
[8:03] players who do things well. I'm going to optimize what you
[8:06] do well for the sake of wait for it, guys, the collective so that
[8:11] we all win together as opposed to yo man, you got to keep
[8:14] platforming Vinny and tell him he's the greatest ever.
[8:16] Tell him you're never getting subbed off.
[8:18] Do whatever you want, bro. Like I love you.
[8:20] Like do you want me to slurp your bath water?
[8:22] Like whatever man, like. Yeah.
[8:24] So on that note, the gas lighting, I think what surprised
[8:28] me going into this game is like how much gas lighting was coming
[8:32] from the club, like the fake fan discourse.
[8:36] So he did a few things simultaneously.
[8:38] First, he's having Arboloa go out and push that line.
[8:43] You know, like I have untouchables.
[8:45] He's telling Arboloa to coddle them as untouchables.
[8:47] And then two, he is telling people in the stadium, I think
[8:52] in the loud speakers, they're saying don't Boo fake
[8:54] moderistas. And he he increased the volume
[8:56] of everything. I saw that the volumes got
[8:59] cranked up to drown out the booze.
[9:02] This is Real Madrid. Wait, that's not the only one,
[9:05] though. The craziest one, Jerrod, I
[9:07] think this is the funniest one we got to go is he's now trying
[9:09] to tell you that you're an extremist ultra, Sir, like a
[9:12] violent fan if you are criticizing the club.
[9:15] So now he's trying to paint you with some like delusional, like
[9:18] violent person who's going to go and like break things in the
[9:21] stadium if you're criticizing the club.
[9:24] This is again, I always talk about this, Real Madrid, Madrid
[9:29] for its history, right? Greatest champion league winning
[9:32] team, all the greatest club in the history of World Club, club
[9:35] football. The things that this
[9:37] organization does are so low brow and this is the kind of
[9:42] thing I would expect from a bottom of the table, second
[9:46] Avenger, Dagunda Segunda Division B team.
[9:49] Somebody who does not have the history and pride that we love
[9:52] to tout and say this is what makes us so great.
[9:56] Like that is Bush league type of behavior.
[9:58] We're going to drown out the booze because we can't take
[10:01] booze. No, you get booed because you're
[10:04] not doing well. And that's everybody, not just
[10:06] the players. Florentino, the board, JS
[10:10] Junica, everybody, all of you are responsible for this
[10:14] disaster class we are seeing unfold before our eyes.
[10:17] And Sid, look, I am not one to root for my team to fail, but
[10:24] you and I know this, when you win things, it does not allow
[10:30] you to be self critical, right? If somehow, and it's possible
[10:34] because look, we just salvage victory from the jaws of defeat
[10:37] right at the end of this match, which we at worst should have
[10:40] tied right or at best should have tied we because the
[10:45] Barcelona is not good, this team can still luck its way into
[10:49] winning La Liga this year. And that will be the worst thing
[10:53] because guess what, if we went in La Liga this year, guys, what
[10:56] do you think happens? All that does to the board is
[10:58] say, see, we knew we were right all along, like Chavi Alonso was
[11:02] the problem. You can let the players do
[11:04] whatever they want. That's going to be confirmation
[11:06] bias for what they believe already.
[11:08] Yep, Yep, it's going to be bad. And honestly, the the other
[11:13] thing that they don't need confirmation bias for is this
[11:15] idea that you can bring Pinterest back and magically get
[11:18] the players fit and boom, Jude's out.
[11:20] And there were so many people saying, Hey, we look fitter the
[11:23] last few games and they're so it's so silly.
[11:25] It's like, OK, he made them do more endurance work.
[11:27] Maybe they'll have a good game here or there where they have
[11:30] temporary cardiovascular endurance boosted.
[11:33] But like on the whole, the load management, the, the soft tissue
[11:37] stuff, none of that is being figured out and it's, it's
[11:40] getting worse maybe. And hamstrings guys are
[11:44] notoriously tricky like this is a month easy, but he's not going
[11:49] to play right? Like easy.
[11:51] And look, you everyone knows on this pod on who listens to the
[11:55] show that we love Jude on this podcast.
[11:57] But we are also honest when we critique players, right?
[11:59] Jude is not having an elite season.
[12:02] Even forget about the goals and the assists, even by you're
[12:05] dropping to be a DLPD blind playmaker, you're gonna be a
[12:08] number 8 whatever even by those standards, right?
[12:10] He is not playing to his best every match.
[12:13] So playing well, but not as well as he can be playing.
[12:16] You take you take away that out of the out of the equation what
[12:20] we got now. So BIOS and Brahim.
[12:24] And again, this is. This is not about me shitting on
[12:26] some BIOS and Brahim, it's just the reality of OK.
[12:29] And you think this team is doing what, beating Benfica in the
[12:33] Champions League playoff? Listen, Benfique is already
[12:36] going to roll into those matches.
[12:37] Sid and I don't care. Oh, we got the second match to
[12:39] burn about whatever. Look, Rael just came in here, a
[12:42] 17th seeded team in the league and really should have left for
[12:46] the draw. Like you don't think Jose
[12:48] Mourinho can get his guys amped up enough to figure out a way to
[12:51] come in here and get a result? They might, honestly, he might.
[12:54] And you know, just to add to that, this I don't think like, I
[12:59] think Carlo was better than this man.
[13:02] Give me Carlo back over this. At least he'd like, like Carlo
[13:06] at at least was working like Carlo's really good in
[13:08] possession. I think Arboloa is bad in
[13:11] possession, Like really really bad right now.
[13:13] Like. Arboloa told us.
[13:15] He just tells like, go out there and have fun man.
[13:17] I have to just you. Anything that happens or lost,
[13:19] it's on me and I gotta let's pull up.
[13:20] The quotes have happened yet. Who knows what what what
[13:23] bullshit Arbolo is spewing right now.
[13:25] Oh, man. Oh, yeah, Yeah.
[13:26] I told you about Vinnie. You just have to give him
[13:28] confidence. See, he scored.
[13:30] They they better stop whistling. He's gonna say shit like that.
[13:32] Let's see. Say.
[13:32] Some stupid like that, I'm sure. OK, so Fede, he said, he said
[13:37] everyone's working in the one team spirit.
[13:39] Everyone is focused, working at maximum energy.
[13:41] And today the substitutes show that.
[13:42] So he's choosing to focus, maybe hyper focus on that.
[13:47] If you look at the XG chart, he's just focusing on that last
[13:49] 10 minutes with the 10 men here and trying to take it away as a
[13:51] positive. But he also says, honestly, we
[13:54] didn't create many clear chances.
[13:55] But I think the energy and the changes the coach made brought a
[13:58] lot of enthusiasm. I think the ten men did Fede.
[14:02] I think the red card bailed us out, man like Gonzalo Garcia was
[14:05] on the right wing. We saw that.
[14:06] It was pure frantic energy. You.
[14:09] Also saw it, Sid, we looked OK in the first half in terms of
[14:15] possession and when Vinnie scored the goal, by the way,
[14:17] that was, you know, nice touch from Arta.
[14:19] We'll get into the specifics to Brahim and then Brahim down to
[14:24] Vinnie. That was really an individual
[14:25] Galazzo in a hell of an effort, which by the way, right before
[14:30] he shot it, the ball was getting stuck in his foot and that was
[14:32] one of those moments where it was being a classic shit.
[14:34] He might give the ball away again, right, but he's able to
[14:36] recover in time and score. Once Ryo started pressing us in
[14:41] as you oh, shock of all shocks, we can't do anything once they
[14:45] and again, this is fucking Ryo by Akano, not the Ryo from the
[14:49] first four weeks of the season when you were like, oh shit,
[14:51] where they do they? I think they got a result
[14:52] against Barcelona at home. Like you're like, yo, like not
[14:56] that Ryo the 16th, the relegation zone, Ryo where they
[14:59] are right now. Yeah, they were one one.
[15:01] They got a 11. Just press this team, Just press
[15:04] this team a little and they will fall apart.
[15:07] Or if we could just if we could just manipulate the ball.
[15:09] But yeah, none of that's happening and it's looking
[15:12] cooked, honestly. I will say the the fans in the
[15:16] stadium, the report was coming back from one of our fans that
[15:19] when it was 11, before the red card, they were like, just put
[15:23] us out of our mystery man. We need to set this place on
[15:25] fire. And I still think that's going
[15:26] to happen this season. It's just a question of when.
[15:28] Oh, we're going to have some horrible Champions League crash
[15:31] out. I'm sure like it it.
[15:34] Look, I don't know how anybody can watch this team and think,
[15:38] and I tweeted this in certain fans inability to understand the
[15:43] bigger picture behind this because all they want to tell us
[15:45] it is oh just get us a controlling midfielder and get
[15:48] this coaching and we'll be fine. They just want to brag to their
[15:50] friends that they want at the end of the day, they don't care.
[15:52] They and they don't care how much time they spend hoping
[15:54] until they brag. They're like they could go 10
[15:57] years just convincing themselves of shit.
[15:58] Or maybe actually, I wouldn't say that we've just won so much
[16:00] that they really think it's a matter of like hoping.
[16:02] They just think it's a matter of being delusional.
[16:05] And you know what? I think the craziest thing is
[16:07] this. A lot of the tactics world was
[16:10] very against me when I was making fun of them in 22 because
[16:12] I was always like, hey, we had a shot like don't play dumb.
[16:15] It's not like the only timeline where we don't win.
[16:17] But yes, I admit it's one of the most improbable wins.
[16:20] But hey, Chelsea did it in 2012. You know, like Chelsea 21 wasn't
[16:25] as lucky, but you know, you've seen teams that are plucky
[16:27] underdogs figure it out. And so I, I think it's just
[16:30] funny because 22 I was seen as delusional among some of the
[16:34] tacticos in our fan base. Our even our fan base was
[16:36] pessimistic then because it had been four years since the last
[16:39] Champions League. The same group of players had,
[16:42] it was some of the same group, but it had changed too.
[16:44] We had and there was no Ronaldo. We hadn't seen our players as
[16:47] protagonists. Now it's all roast tinted
[16:50] glasses where they see these guys as the guys who already won
[16:52] two years ago. But I just think the math is not
[16:56] there. But it's, it's just weird
[16:57] because Barcelona's defense is bad.
[16:59] But let's look at the. Horrendous.
[17:02] What's the standings looking like?
[17:04] They created the most expected goals of any team since we
[17:06] started recording data. 7 expected goals in their last
[17:09] game there. I saw there was a good tweet
[17:12] from Raghib Hassan, one of our fans.
[17:13] He was saying like, you know, they're putting up 2012 Madrid
[17:17] offensive numbers, like five guys on 10 plus goals and
[17:20] assists or something. Correct.
[17:21] That's the thing about Barcelona, yes their defense is
[17:23] like a sieve and they will give up tons of chances, but they
[17:26] create a ton of XG and score a shit ton of goals, far more than
[17:30] we do, right? So this is what you're fighting
[17:33] against right? In any match, you're never like,
[17:36] oh, and Barcelona score like they're going to they're going
[17:39] to score at some point. You know that, right?
[17:40] The question is, will you be able to take advantage of your
[17:43] chances when you get them right? And with the way this team plays
[17:46] so haphazard, this being Madrid and helter Skelter, there's no
[17:49] guarantee of that. Look and Bobby had that once he
[17:52] in that foot race beat the goalie, right, had the wide open
[17:55] net hit the crossbar right like again in a low margin sport.
[17:59] Thank goodness we got that penalty right like because if we
[18:01] didn't this game is anything in A11 draw.
[18:03] Like easy. And so, you know, let's go back
[18:07] to sort of like the beginnings of today when I saw the lineups
[18:10] come out, I was like, is Carreras hurt?
[18:12] Like why? Why is Camo Vinga playing left
[18:14] back and not Carreras? I think I don't know, but it I
[18:17] mean it does give off vibes of like, you know, I'm just going
[18:20] to go with the the older heads in the team.
[18:21] It's the same vibes as Gonzalo Garcia playing right wing
[18:23] because Carreras is good at left back and Camo Vinga like like we
[18:28] didn't control the midfield with the two midfielders at fullback.
[18:31] So it's A and it's value. So officially like this only
[18:34] adds to my belief that we're code.
[18:36] Like I don't see how we build on this like because we've seen
[18:40] these guys not get better under multiple coaches for years.
[18:42] And you know, I agree with the idea.
[18:45] One guy said, you know, 2 or many that goal.
[18:48] I got to say I love his ups and I like how I like how he bought
[18:52] into Alonzo and got better. But his downs, he's basically
[18:56] like really bad. And I get it's partly because he
[18:58] plays center back. He's better as a six, but then
[19:01] as a six, he still has these lapses where he's not cracking a
[19:03] runner. And I do think honestly, I admit
[19:07] this, like we criticize coaches for years, but these two too
[19:11] many is 100 million camo lingo was 30, first of all.
[19:14] But neither of them have lived up to it because camo lingo's
[19:17] always hurt. And two men and and it's partly
[19:19] on us for playing them out of position.
[19:21] And yeah, because honestly, the window of growth was like when
[19:24] they first joined and when they became what they were changing.
[19:27] That is getting harder with each passing day.
[19:29] Yeah, I, I, I don't disagree, You know, on that goal that
[19:33] Royal scored the equalizer. See it like you saw it coming
[19:36] before it happened. I was like, Oh my God, like, why
[19:39] are we walking? Like, and all the space the Rio
[19:42] players had to pass the ball set up, send that cross in.
[19:45] And I was like, everybody's jogging.
[19:46] I was like, forget it, goal's coming.
[19:47] I, I, I literally, I'm like, oh, here it comes.
[19:49] Like pass, pass goal. I see it now 'cause we're just
[19:52] not like, we're not attacks, we're not connected, we're not
[19:55] cohesive. On the Cam of Vingachua, many
[19:57] front people listen to this podcast know I love those guys
[20:02] so much, but I'm also a realist. And I am pragmatic when it comes
[20:07] to things that at some point you have to divorce yourself from
[20:11] the love you have for players that were yours.
[20:13] Because we either got them young or they came from La Fabrica.
[20:16] Because if this is an organ and we didn't, I know what we bought
[20:19] them when they were super young. If this is an environment where
[20:24] they're not going to get a true path to development like they
[20:27] should have, but then it's just not working right, then you need
[20:30] to get ready made players who do exactly what you want to do.
[20:34] Or except they're role players. Just treat them like role
[20:36] players. Or or correct, except they're
[20:38] role players. The thing about true many that
[20:40] is disheartening Sid. And I don't think we got to see
[20:44] it with Kama Venka because Chabi eventually got fired.
[20:47] Trumani was developing and hitting that trajectory.
[20:50] Say where I was like, yo, he could be the best DM in the
[20:52] world. I could.
[20:53] I could see Chubby building him into that.
[20:55] But then he gets fired and then it's like, OK, random, do what
[20:58] the fuck ever you want, everybody.
[20:59] Now, remember when the reports came out about who was in
[21:01] Chubby's camp and who wasn't Trumani, one of the players
[21:04] firmly in the chubby Alonso camp?
[21:06] What did what did what did he say?
[21:09] Trumani is an essential player for me, right?
[21:12] Because again, if you are someone who is limited in
[21:15] certain areas of your game, then you need structure and more than
[21:18] anybody else, right? And he was given structure to do
[21:22] what he does. Well, now you take away a
[21:25] structure and it's like, OK, he might get some good.
[21:27] You're probably going to get a lot of mediocre to bad, right?
[21:30] And come, I think it was hurt most of the time.
[21:33] But when Chavi deployed him as a right winger, I want to say
[21:38] against Barcelona, and at that first we were like, wait again
[21:41] because Chubby had the mind to be like, I see all the gifts
[21:45] these players have. I also see their weaknesses.
[21:47] Here's what I'm going to construct so that your gifts are
[21:50] put at the best possible position for us to succeed and
[21:54] to mask your deficiencies. But when you got R below is
[21:57] saying just go out and have fun. Guess what you got?
[21:59] You ain't masking divisions. He's there because now it's all
[22:02] laid to bear. And unfortunately, we did not
[22:04] get to see what that would truly look like.
[22:06] Look, we don't know what history is going to say Sid, but I think
[22:10] giving up on the Chapi Alonzo project may be one of the
[22:14] markers in this club's history as like just a bone headed
[22:18] decision and just. Well, not.
[22:19] Emery's not going to come in and like, work with this hierarchy.
[22:22] There's no. Here's the thing.
[22:23] People are like, oh, Una Emery, I'm like, OK, you think that
[22:26] guy, you just. Called Alonzo Benitez.
[22:28] Like how? What's?
[22:30] You know, detail oriented fucking Unai Emery and you think
[22:33] he wants to come here to work with this shit?
[22:37] It's ridiculous and on Vinny I just want to say people are
[22:41] cashing the receipts with him way too fast.
[22:43] Dog like scoring against these teams every other game doesn't
[22:45] mean shit it it really doesn't mean shit.
[22:47] And I guess he was good today. Good goal.
[22:50] All right, I'll just pull up his stats .8 goals plus assists per
[22:54] 90 without penalties 2122. So basically a goal or assist 8
[22:59] out of 10 games .77 Yep, .77 the next year with Benzema hurt a
[23:03] lot and so you know, he elevates to more of a number one option
[23:06] and maintains performance that is very good.
[23:09] Then .882324 again, the trajectory where everyone felt
[23:13] he was destined for the Balandor.
[23:14] He should have won the Balandor. I am.
[23:16] I am not one of those vindictive fans that's like, yes, he didn't
[23:19] win, get out of here. No, I'm upset for him.
[23:21] He should have won it, clearly. But his response has been
[23:23] pathetic because he is now at like and you know when at the
[23:26] time of the Balandor he was our best player and Bobby wasn't and
[23:29] then. .4 last season. 4 goals, four half the production.
[23:35] Yes, half he went down half the production.
[23:37] And this season he's at .55 and I'm pretty sure it peaked when
[23:41] he was getting benched and when he was throwing tantrums.
[23:43] I'm pretty sure that was when it was at its best.
[23:46] It's fallen off since November. That's the craziest part.
[23:49] Like his per 90 has gotten worse.
[23:51] And you know, I saw a great tweet from this account on
[23:54] Twitter. Don Shelby hilarious.
[23:55] He has like a Peaky Blinders profile.
[23:57] Oh man, that guy's funny. And he he was just saying like,
[24:00] you know, like you're you're a clown and a sheep.
[24:02] If you like Boo at 11 but aren't just booing the whole game, this
[24:05] result you and he was saying you could score 4 today.
[24:08] Vinnie and I wouldn't care. And I honestly agree.
[24:10] Now. I I think these flat track
[24:11] bullying against these teams means nothing because we're
[24:14] clearly trending away from building the fundamentals to be
[24:17] a great team again. And honestly, like I will say,
[24:21] the Bernabeu fans do like I think they were even booing it a
[24:23] little bit at halftime, But I think the socio part of the
[24:27] crowd is like us, by the way. And I think that's why Perez is
[24:31] trying to push this argument about the ultra cert because
[24:33] it's like, Oh no, the socios who are members agree with the
[24:36] tacticos. We have a problem guys.
[24:39] No, it, it for sure this, this is this is the stage of what a,
[24:44] an emperor who's trying to hold on to power, realizing it's
[24:47] crumbling around him does right? These are the kind of moves you
[24:50] turn institutional power against your, your supporters, right?
[24:54] And this, this is this is what this is what he's doing right?
[24:57] And ultimately, if you are a Madrid fan and you want change
[25:02] Sid, you have to want this to go spectacularly bad.
[25:06] Because again, if this team finds a way to sneak a La Liga
[25:11] title in on like gold or we wouldn't win gold differential
[25:15] because Barcelona scores way more than we do, But whatever.
[25:17] If we find a way to sneak out a league title, it it's just going
[25:23] to be bad. Or, or God forbid, Sid, we
[25:27] somehow escape Benfica and Man City shits the bed and we get to
[25:31] the fucking semifinals or whatever of the Champions
[25:34] League, it's bad. This is you don't want this
[25:38] because again, it is papering up and covering over the obvious
[25:43] problems that anybody with forget about a discerning eye.
[25:46] Any person who's on who's a working understanding of sports
[25:49] works. If you drop them in and showed
[25:51] them what's been going on with this club from since Alonzo was
[25:54] hired to now would be like, yo, something's wrong with this is
[25:58] like the greatest club in the history of world football.
[26:00] Why are they acting like this? This is weird.
[26:02] This doesn't make any kind of sense.
[26:05] OK, yeah, 100%. And just going through some of
[26:08] these quotes I just got to read about our blow as a coach.
[26:12] I was missing this time to work. We will focus during these two
[26:14] weeks on improving the team individually and collectively.
[26:17] How? They don't want to watch films,
[26:19] So what? What work you're going to be
[26:21] doing collectively, they don't want to do anything, So what are
[26:23] you going to be doing? Winning in the final minutes
[26:25] gives a huge morale boost and always brings confidence.
[26:28] Ryo are a good team and always causes problems.
[26:30] They did so in the first like 2. Every season that Ryo comes to
[26:32] the Burnabout, they're a tough opponent.
[26:34] The Burnabout crowd, OK, I think they realized a few things.
[26:38] He said The Burnabout crowd played a key role in pushing us
[26:40] to win a tough match against a team that always causes
[26:42] problems. He said we have had more games
[26:44] than training sessions. Honestly, they're like Chubby
[26:46] came in without a preseason dog. Like it's just, it's all the
[26:49] same shit. It's it's it is what it is.
[26:51] And we will have two good weeks to prepare to improve both
[26:54] collectively, individually. So he is crediting the Bernabeu.
[26:59] I just think maybe at some point he would realize it's a battle
[27:01] he's never going to win. Like he's going to like lose.
[27:03] Like if if a new presidency comes in fed up with all this,
[27:06] like he that's it. They're going to fire everyone
[27:08] part of this shit. It's just you.
[27:10] You have to. It is, how could you not?
[27:15] I'm looking at a stat right now. Say it from Opta, Real Madrid
[27:20] have conceded 94 goals in 76 games across all competitions
[27:25] since the start of 2025, with only Eintracht Frankfurt 96 and
[27:30] 55 conceding more goals among all teams from Europe's top five
[27:34] leagues. That is fucking atrocious.
[27:38] You ain't winning with that. Kind of like a defensive
[27:41] performance. And oh wait, shock of all
[27:42] shocks, have we won a trophy, a major trophy since 2005, 2025?
[27:46] The answer is no, right? And we are not on course to do
[27:49] that this year. Yeah, it's cooked and it's
[27:53] cooked. Honestly, it's just, it's
[27:55] depressing following the team. It's, it's hard even running the
[27:58] show, man, honestly, like it's brutal.
[28:01] Like we, we honestly, a big motivation to start the show is
[28:04] hope that we're building a new era of football that we could
[28:07] analyze and hey, we win again. It's fun.
[28:10] But the lows of Real Madrid are super low is what stands out
[28:13] over the last 20 years. It's like the highs are super
[28:15] high, but the, the lows are like really super low.
[28:18] And yes, highs come out of nowhere after.
[28:20] But like, man, we were on a big drought from 2002 to 2014 and
[28:25] there was a process and you know it.
[28:26] Only after that drought do we accept the process.
[28:29] Pellegrini, Mourinho. And it just feels like we won't
[28:32] accept the process anymore. I, I I don't know where to go
[28:36] from here. Like this win, honestly.
[28:38] Yeah. And with everything you're
[28:39] saying, I'm kind of disappointed that we got bailed out by the 10
[28:41] men. The goal?
[28:42] It was undeserved in my opinion. 100% undeserved.
[28:45] And Sid, the reality is, is that Florentino, when he came back
[28:49] for his second term, he changed the laws.
[28:52] So that one, it makes it hard for anybody else to run as a
[28:56] president, right? 2 The entire board and the
[29:00] people who make the decisions on the board are Florentino's yes
[29:04] men, right? Those are.
[29:05] So he's essentially going to be picking his own successor who he
[29:09] wants to run the club exactly how he would run it.
[29:13] So I don't know how this gets better from that standpoint,
[29:19] unless it gets so bad that his people that I was talking about,
[29:25] even his people turn on him and or the rest of the socios are
[29:30] able to put together enough internal power to force him out.
[29:35] Because look, and this is not about having short memory and
[29:39] not recognizing what Florentino's done next to next
[29:43] to Santiago Bernabeu and even higher than Santiago Bernabeu.
[29:47] Florentino was ushered the Real Madrid brand into the 21st
[29:51] century in a way that nobody else could even dream of.
[29:55] The greatest president in club history.
[29:57] But you know, man, everybody's reign and era comes to an end,
[30:01] right? You're not elite and great.
[30:03] Just like how players fall off and their skills go.
[30:06] Same thing happens for presidents and people in the.
[30:08] Executive. Seat executives, same thing.
[30:11] And it's time. It's just time.
[30:14] Or he shows he's changing everything this summer.
[30:16] But I, I don't know, it just, I think it's going to be Keema,
[30:18] Andres, Keith Schmidt, these young guys.
[30:20] I don't, I, I don't, I don't see obvious options on the market.
[30:23] And Florentino's always great at picking up the option that you
[30:26] think you can't even get, like a trend or a Jude, which is
[30:28] amazing. And here's the thing about Kema
[30:31] and Keys, Sid and and Nico Paz, if they would come back just
[30:34] because of a money standpoint, OK, I wouldn't care.
[30:38] But then you have to marry that with the reality of what is
[30:43] going to happen, which is this is going to be a process and we
[30:46] care about the underlying process.
[30:48] So when these players are 23242526, we are now set for an
[30:53] era of dominance. So on the way to getting there,
[30:56] it's going to look ugly at times because they're young and
[30:58] learning. But you have to be OK with that
[31:00] and hire a coach who is going to.
[31:03] But they're not on Imbapes timeline.
[31:04] You can't. It's so disrespectful.
[31:05] It's almost disrespectful to him, right?
[31:07] You see, this is the point. This is why you don't go out and
[31:09] get imbapes and whatever and then do that strategy.
[31:12] If you're going to do the imbapes tentpole, then everybody
[31:15] in every other position. I'm not saying best in the world
[31:17] has to be a fully formed already elite at what they do and we
[31:21] move forward that way. Not this.
[31:22] It's almost like the Golden State Warriors 2 timeline thing,
[31:24] right? They were.
[31:25] Trying. You cannot.
[31:27] Have Steph and Draymond and these guys and then say let's
[31:29] also play coming. No, no, no, no, no.
[31:31] It's one or the other. You can't do both.
[31:34] Yes, and actually on that note, you know, going back to Vinnie,
[31:38] Vinnie was better today. He applauded the fans after the
[31:40] final whistle, even though he was like tone deaf when he was
[31:43] trying to tell him to stop booing.
[31:44] Don't ever do that again, bro. Don't ever do that again.
[31:47] Don't ever do that again. We're just going to Boo you
[31:49] louder next time. We're going to tell everyone in
[31:50] the stadium to Boo you like we're never going to stop.
[31:53] I mean, we might stop because it's not fun to watch anymore,
[31:55] but that's a different story. But but see, then you're not
[31:59] getting paid either because then the stadium receipts are going
[32:01] down, man. Well, I hate to I hate to say
[32:04] it, we're too big for that to happen, but the reality is we're
[32:07] not so big that the fans in the stadium are all like Man United
[32:10] type fans. No, they have expectations.
[32:12] We're not like there yet, which is good.
[32:14] One question after you because on the Golden State Warriors
[32:16] thing, like, you know, you know racism is a real thing and but
[32:22] when a player who's had experienced racism is in a tough
[32:25] moment and they use that to try and absolve responsibility
[32:29] right, right. I think and and you know, when
[32:31] you at the Golden State Warriors, I couldn't help but
[32:33] think of Draymond Green Jimmy Butler tour.
[32:35] Give me Butler. I know because you're just
[32:39] ruining it for people who are actually talking about racism,
[32:41] right? Like because Jimmy Butler tour
[32:43] is ACL and now you're mad you're not winning so you go under like
[32:46] oh, I'm a black man. Referees get in my face in
[32:47] America, dude. Like you're losing, you're
[32:49] letting it out. Like come on, just.
[32:51] And also it's also the messenger, Draymond.
[32:53] You, as anybody who watched the Chappelle show would know this
[32:57] reference, are a habitual line stepper always right.
[33:03] Draymond is you 24/7. And I would argue Sid referees
[33:08] give him the benefit of the doubt way more than they should.
[33:12] Listen, he's great defender, but the amount of contact he got
[33:14] away with in those playoff runs, number one, number one of like
[33:17] like him at the rim, just he he like Harden.
[33:20] He would fouled the shit out of Harden in the playoffs and he
[33:22] knew how to get away with it. But yeah, no, he's a line
[33:25] stepper who who chokes players, who fights players and he's
[33:29] coming out and like ro ref don't put a hand in my face.
[33:32] That's racism in America. No bro, Nah, Nah.
[33:34] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, they don't believe
[33:38] you. You need more people.
[33:39] No, that's not it, Draymond. No, you are a habitual line
[33:42] stepper and really should have been tossed out of way more
[33:45] games in your career than you have been, right.
[33:47] And and though the way refs, the way refs allow him to talk to
[33:51] them during games because he's Draymond Green, I'm like, bro,
[33:54] you are a disrespectful motherfucker.
[33:57] Right? Like he just is wildly
[33:59] disrespectful. So full of shit.
[34:02] But yes, to your point, you cannot use those things again.
[34:07] You then make it, you cheapen it for when it's actually happening
[34:11] and someone's talking about it for them people not to believe,
[34:14] right, Because you use it as a crutch instead of taking
[34:16] accountability. And this is where it's we bring
[34:18] it full circle said It comes back to Real Madrid players.
[34:21] No. One wants to take accountability
[34:23] for why we're not doing well. I am not playing up to my
[34:27] standards, that's why we're not playing well.
[34:29] Well, there's well, I would also add that not only is Florentino
[34:32] doing the thing where he's saying you're an ultra if you
[34:35] blew it, I believe like the same sort of narrative favors Vinny
[34:38] where it's like, hey, you're a racist biometric fan who always
[34:41] hated me, who never backed me when there was racism.
[34:43] If you don't support me now, you're biased.
[34:45] And it's just the dumbest shit in history, man.
[34:47] It's like, because from there, I don't know how it takes a lot to
[34:50] build yourself back up if you're pushed.
[34:52] And I'm not saying Vinny pushes those, but that's the narrative
[34:54] that's out there in the fan base.
[34:56] Yes, you have some parts of the fan base that are like
[34:59] different. It's a Spanish fan base.
[35:00] They're they go after drunk dude a lot, as we know.
[35:02] All right. And and let's be let's be also
[35:04] clear, call it what it is. There are.
[35:06] Who? Are racist, but it just is.
[35:09] Like it is what it is. Call it what it is.
[35:11] Yeah, I mean, look at Carvajal. He doesn't love fighting for
[35:13] Viddy. And I think ultimate, and I
[35:16] think ultimately it's because there's always been two sides to
[35:19] the coin. Vinnie experiences racism, but
[35:21] also Vinnie needed Cruz and Rogers to tell him to stop doing
[35:23] some shit. And just focus on the game.
[35:25] Both sides of the coin are true, and fundamentally misconstruing
[35:29] criticism of him as like being racist doesn't help anyone
[35:32] honestly. It just doesn't.
[35:33] Like calling a spade a spade is great, but doing this shit,
[35:37] calling us like ultras, it's just stupid man.
[35:40] And this is what politicians do when they're on their way out
[35:42] man. That's what they do.
[35:44] It it's it is shifting the blame and again, not taking
[35:47] accountability. They're great players in any
[35:50] sport. And by the way, I see this quote
[35:52] about Rafael Nola, he he's a long way away from even being
[35:55] eligible, one to run for president.
[35:58] And two, again, we talked about how Florentino's consolidated
[36:01] his power, how the board members are basically all his cronies
[36:03] and yes, men like it is it's it's going to take a lot guys a
[36:07] lot, which is why, again, I never someone to say root for
[36:10] total disaster from your organization.
[36:14] But the only way this happens quicker is if total disaster
[36:19] happens. You know only way.
[36:21] You know the three peat doesn't happen if Barcelona don't win
[36:23] the travel in 1415, probably because they don't go sign that
[36:27] much debt because we're not looking at the team that lost
[36:29] four nil to Atlantico and Barcelona.
[36:31] We're not like spitting on like our Belilla was so bad coin
[36:33] throughout, like our backups were useless that year.
[36:35] And then he went and signed a deep set of backups that were
[36:39] amazing. And honestly, and it's funny,
[36:41] Pintus was still there. I believe for Carlos first belt,
[36:43] maybe or or maybe not. It's just Carlos always use the
[36:46] same method of running his players after practice run more
[36:49] to like build endurance periodization peak twice in the
[36:52] season because you worked hard earlier in training and then you
[36:55] kind of let go loose and you're you're more in, you have more
[36:58] endurance later the season. But it's just you know, but that
[37:01] defeat back then was huge. And I don't think people realize
[37:05] like every defeat contributed to victory.
[37:07] Extreme failure is what allows you to be hyper self critical
[37:15] and analyze where you are wrong and where you need to improve
[37:18] and where do you get better to. No matter what sport you talk
[37:22] about the the elite of the league, the greatest, The people
[37:24] in the GOAT conversation, whenever you hear them have deep
[37:27] instructive conversations. What is the thing they talk
[37:30] about the most are the moments where they failed.
[37:33] Why do they keep going to those? Because that is where they
[37:36] learned the most, not the winds where they were at the lowest
[37:41] and were failing. Because that's when you're like,
[37:44] yo, I have to be 1000% honest in this moment, right?
[37:49] Why I'm failing is because of these areas.
[37:51] And I need to get better in these areas if I'm going to be
[37:54] what I think I'm going to be. That's what that's just the
[37:57] reality of how this goes. And so again, for a club that
[38:01] wins consistently and thinks winning is its birthright, you
[38:05] know, man, that is that is not the way you you move through
[38:08] life. And to your point, this club
[38:10] shouldn't be like this because it isn't as though this club is
[38:14] consistent said, if you look at everything the club does, it's
[38:17] peaks and valleys, right? And so how do we create an
[38:22] environment where the success is sustainable, right?
[38:25] How do we create an environment where, let's be honest, we
[38:29] should in in the last five years, we should have probably
[38:33] won this league title 4 out of five times, if not five out of
[38:35] five? Yeah, we should have won more.
[38:36] This league, come on, what are we doing here?
[38:40] And would that not have helped us as a club to keep winning?
[38:42] I feel like it would like what? What was the downside?
[38:45] Yes, people. I I mean, if your argument is
[38:48] that you have to tank on purpose every other year to win the
[38:51] Champions League, then just say it because like just say that
[38:54] because that's what a lot of people seem to want now.
[38:57] That's what people seem to be OK with.
[38:59] I love what we went through. I I also don't think that's just
[39:01] going to happen again. It's the last four years aren't
[39:03] coming back. It was just obviously one of one
[39:05] modus was like 36 when he was playing that outside of the
[39:08] booth past against Chelsea. You won't find someone like
[39:10] that. Iniesto was eating beef.
[39:13] Iniesto was eating like, like beef in Japan at that age, you
[39:15] know, and scan in his club for 30 million, like literally scan
[39:19] in his club. Like, you know, next time
[39:22] there's a cruiser moderator, they're just going to take the
[39:24] Saudi deal. They're not going to be like, I
[39:27] mean, it's not necessarily like that, but it's going to be a
[39:30] while. It's going to be a while.
[39:32] We are not set up to succeed long term, all right.
[39:40] Do I think we have talent on this club?
[39:42] 100%. We're not deep enough.
[39:45] Clearly we don't to a point that Sid's made that I've made ad
[39:49] nausea when we had episodes. You guys should go back and
[39:51] listen to I had Henry Abbott on here talking about his book.
[39:53] Sid and I did a whole episode about medical staff performance
[39:56] and injury training. Like this is the next frontier,
[39:59] guys, this predictive analytics type thing.
[40:02] If Madrid was cutting edge where they were supposed to be.
[40:04] Jude doesn't even play this game, this match today.
[40:07] You know why? Because all the stuff's being
[40:10] done and he's in the red zone and they're like, Nope.
[40:13] Not taking the field today, my man.
[40:14] Like you're at whatever the percentage is 45% risk of, you
[40:18] know, popping your hamstring today, not going to happen.
[40:20] You need whatever it is 10 days off and this kind of muscle
[40:22] stimulation, this blah, blah, blah, whatever it like.
[40:25] But again, those things don't happen unless you have an
[40:28] organization that is built on trust, that has cutting edge at
[40:32] all these different areas that is given people when you hire
[40:37] people said when you're running a big time club or organization,
[40:40] you and you're someone like Madrid, you hire the best of the
[40:42] best, right, because you can track those people in, but then
[40:45] you empower them, right? Keyword empower them to do what
[40:49] they are good at. You don't neuter them or cut
[40:52] them off at the knees, right, which is what they did to choppy
[40:54] Alonzo. Now we got Pintis back in here.
[40:56] Who again, I this bears repeating.
[41:00] Pintus is back because Florentino and I quote, believes
[41:04] he is the secret sauce to Madrid's Champions League
[41:07] success. What the fuck, Sid?
[41:10] That is not back in. Florentino superstitious, he's
[41:12] just become superstitious. He just reminds me of people in
[41:14] my life who become superstitious because they've achieved enough
[41:16] and got to a stage. They're like, I'm going to stay
[41:18] this way because this is what got me here.
[41:20] And that's just where Florentino strikes me as now.
[41:23] And honestly. And so it is what it is, man.
[41:28] And I agree that Arboloa has maybe been harsh on Arda points.
[41:33] I think now with Jude out, I think it's back to go to Arda
[41:36] Ball a little more. Yeah, we don't have too many
[41:39] options, that's the thing. We we have limited options.
[41:41] Who else is going unless, unless you bring up Castilla kids.
[41:44] But the only other thing. Yep, and Arda obviously playing
[41:48] deeper today wasn't too pretty. It is what it is and man, it's
[41:53] it's a sad situation. You know, it's interesting too.
[41:56] This is a World Cup summer, right?
[41:58] So all of our players for the most part are going to be except
[42:01] for Brahim are going to be busy this summer.
[42:03] When let's say the the the thing happens where it's like, OK,
[42:08] they tear it down, they bring somebody in, they give them
[42:10] power da da da. When is their pre season in
[42:13] their? Time it's a World Cup summer to
[42:15] get. To get better, we're cooked.
[42:16] When. When is that happening?
[42:18] We're cooked we the last two World Cups.
[42:21] We didn't do shit after those. Like the three last three.
[42:25] So guys, this could be heading into another year of this type
[42:28] of stuff because again, you bring in new players.
[42:32] When are you going to have time to implement this new system?
[42:34] Yeah, not this summer. For sure, for sure.
[42:39] Last thing to close on, I think there's a lot of I think there's
[42:42] a lot of pushback on the idea that we need to be self
[42:45] critical, mostly from the online world.
[42:48] What? Why?
[42:48] What does it? Understand you get better by
[42:51] self being self critical. Well, I, I feel like he's paying
[42:54] people like he's paid journalists to just come out and
[42:57] put it out there that you can't be self critical.
[42:59] It's just, it's just what, what the vibe is.
[43:00] And players obviously don't deserve criticism from a lot of
[43:04] casuals. They, they should shrug it off
[43:06] naturally, but we're so fast to pass the point, like we're so
[43:09] past the point where we can pretend we can just close our
[43:12] eyes and win the Champions League.
[43:14] And I, I just think it's just crazy that people are trying to
[43:17] feed the kool-aid man. It's just a just too much
[43:20] kool-aid. As someone who created kool-aid
[43:22] and drank it in 22 and 24, I literally, I literally like I
[43:26] drew the kool-aid out of my blood and drank it in front of
[43:28] y'all on camera. But that shit like it's gone,
[43:31] man. It's gone.
[43:32] And you know, because I've been saying a lot of provocative
[43:35] things. One of the things I was saying
[43:36] is, oh, like people thought we were back when we gave up twenty
[43:38] shots to Monaco and said rheometer isn't about tactics.
[43:40] Yes, we are going to laugh at you clowns.
[43:42] We are going to laugh at you. I don't care how many group
[43:44] chats you people who are scared of pretending your face on
[43:47] social media go and talk in, you know half the people talking,
[43:51] it's really funny who are like defending Peres.
[43:53] There are people who were too scared to like they'll put their
[43:56] location to somewhere else from they were until he launches.
[43:59] Those are the sort of people are talking.
[44:00] People who are pretending to be from the Netherlands, from
[44:01] India, like we know you, you clowns who are the ones who are
[44:04] defending Peres, You are all doing free marketing for him.
[44:07] You have no dignity, no self respect.
[44:10] We will not be doing that. We don't do free marketing for
[44:12] these guys. Would it surprise you, Sid, if
[44:15] something didn't expose and it came out that Real Madrid had
[44:19] pro Perez bots they were paying on Twitter to like, disseminate
[44:23] this information? See that's the thing.
[44:25] I don't think he's at bots, but it's pretty obvious he's paying.
[44:28] Like we already talked about the DROAS he paid in like 15 years
[44:32] ago. He pays people well.
[44:34] I think the fun question would be, what if, like, these fucking
[44:36] companies actually prosecuted people for saying things they're
[44:39] paid to say? That would be sweet.
[44:41] Politics, sports. That would be sweet.
[44:44] Aprizio would be in prison. Some of these guys would be in
[44:46] prison. I mean, not actually in prison,
[44:48] but, you know, it could be. It could get serious.
[44:50] But I do think disclosing where you believe things is so
[44:53] essential. And yeah, you have this flip
[44:56] side, like I remember in high school history drug, they used
[44:59] to teach us like, hey, when you get a source, like question,
[45:02] who's the person? Why are they saying this?
[45:04] Like why did they write this? What's their bias in POV?
[45:06] Now these fans are doing the opposite.
[45:08] They're like, hey, you heard Vinnie in the press conference
[45:10] say all of it is a lie. And it's just, dude, you are
[45:12] literally so dumb. Like you, you are literally
[45:15] devolving back in time with your brain.
[45:18] You're going back to the Stone Age with these critical thinking
[45:20] skills. And look, part of it is fandom
[45:23] by its nature is an irrational state of being, right?
[45:28] Fan is short for fanatic. A fanatic is an irrational
[45:31] person, right? You are irrational and you're,
[45:34] you're, you're, you're heretical and you're thinking about
[45:37] whatever it is you are a fan of, right?
[45:39] Because it's emotion based and not logic and intuitive base,
[45:42] right? And I'm not saying that's wrong.
[45:44] It's that that's what makes sports fun.
[45:46] But when we are trying to analyze what is going on and how
[45:50] we fix things, the fan part of your brain must turn off.
[45:54] And you must understand this from a logical perspective.
[45:57] If you were running this, and it is.
[46:00] Madrid is a corporation. This side of how things are
[46:03] being run is like fucking elementary school bullshit.
[46:07] Like right chefs telling overriding nutritionists and
[46:12] being like Nah don't listen what the fuck she's talking about.
[46:14] Have some Donuts and fucking croissants before games.
[46:17] Like what? That's what let the Jude's
[46:20] hamstring man Pintus comes in. He's like let them eat, let them
[46:23] eat whatever they want, let them eat seed oils, let them eat
[46:25] trash, let them eat garbage and man, because.
[46:29] You know, Sid, what you eat has no impact on your performance,
[46:32] so. It's fine.
[46:32] Absolutely not. No, it's ridiculous.
[46:35] It's so ridiculous. Do.
[46:37] Whatever. Yeah, and I mean, obviously with
[46:39] genetic freaks it matters less, but I mean, I just think Vinnie
[46:42] is the perfect example of what happens when you lose your one
[46:44] V1, like when you lose some of your natural separation ability.
[46:47] You look so civilian. And and that can happen if
[46:51] you're not optimized in the modern game, just especially for
[46:54] fast twitch players. Like you have to have that shit
[46:56] locked down. You're gonna they're gonna age
[46:58] badly if you don't figure that shit out or they're gonna keep
[47:00] getting hurt and never figure out the tactics like a camo
[47:03] viga. You, you got to figure that shit
[47:04] down. And and that was what I think
[47:07] Chubby realized that that's part of the reason why he was they
[47:11] were set up the way they were set up, right?
[47:13] Not doing the constantly spam Vinnie.
[47:16] Every time boring. Right, because he's like, you're
[47:18] going to be burnt out if we keep doing this in a year you will
[47:22] have no career and we're not going to win.
[47:24] So it's much better if we play this way with their build up,
[47:26] controlled possession and like, but you know, nobody wanted to
[47:29] do that. Everybody wanted to go to Ibiza,
[47:31] not watch film and do whatever the fuck you.
[47:33] Know and and claim victory after go in Villa Real is like yo we
[47:37] figured it out. Clouds, people.
[47:39] People telling me Madrid is back after beating Monaco 61.
[47:42] I was like a Monaco squad that is terrible in Ligon and clearly
[47:47] horrendous in the Champions. Like, yeah, tell me again, guys,
[47:50] how Real Madrid is back like. Yeah, yeah, totally, man,
[47:55] totally. And I I know what Bobby missed
[47:57] today, but I do want to say I still don't think he's the
[47:59] problem, even though there are flaws with him, with Ronaldo and
[48:02] I, I've made fun of him for those before.
[48:04] I will say, like the last thing is I think him and Cortois got
[48:08] to say, and I mean Cortois, we can figure out he's still
[48:11] getting older. Like you want to bring in
[48:12] someone maybe who can play some cup games.
[48:14] But I mean, Lunan is here who is a change up on the ball with the
[48:18] ball at his feet. Nice change up and but yeah,
[48:21] Killian is not the problem. But Killian could improve.
[48:24] But I, I think like a lot of the narrative around him, even
[48:27] though he's worse than aspects of the game are still like
[48:29] Ronaldo before we won, we went five years before we won the
[48:31] first Champions League with him here.
[48:33] Messi won like 1-2 and you know, he could have won more.
[48:36] The idea was Messi's just winning everything and running
[48:38] away with it. So there's time.
[48:40] But yeah, I think a lot of this team can be changed.
[48:44] But man, to closeout Jerrod, any, any closing thoughts here?
[48:48] Obviously everyone should like subscribe and support us,
[48:51] support real human beings, real human beings who don't fall to
[48:54] the crowd. You know, I appreciate one of
[48:55] the fans who said we say it like it is.
[48:56] We do, man, We do. We don't A lot of people say
[48:59] things so they can get engagement or clicks, right?
[49:01] And we get engagement because we speak our mind.
[49:03] And we're one of the few ones just want to put it out there.
[49:05] Like people keep quoting it and getting mad, keep getting mad
[49:08] clowns. But that's because we speak our
[49:09] mind. We're not.
[49:10] We're not engagement baiting you like this is just what we
[49:12] believe. Correct of course it said like
[49:15] subscribe share with your friends like this video.
[49:18] Please subscribe to the channel. Make sure your alarm, the alert
[49:21] little bell button set up so you know every time we go live and
[49:24] there's new content out and again, those of you who know
[49:27] this know me know from my time covering the NBA and other
[49:31] sports at large. I am a fan.
[49:34] But when it is time for me to analyze, I don't look at surface
[49:37] things. I go deep into the actual
[49:41] underlying foundation and structure because that is what
[49:46] will tell me what is going on. If the core is rotten, then my
[49:51] prognosis for your future is not good.
[49:53] Can you get lucky here and there?
[49:54] Sure. Because if you have enough elite
[49:56] talent, sometimes elite talent wins out that that happens,
[49:59] right? But if you were trying to create
[50:01] a culture of sustained success, right?
[50:04] And that's what we're talking about, not winning it every
[50:06] year, but every year you are 12 La Liga, especially in the down
[50:10] La Liga right now, you're pretty much winning it AD nauseam.
[50:13] And you are, you know, semi finals, Champions League,
[50:16] winning it like then we know, OK, you, the culture is there,
[50:20] but this high, low, high, low like that, that that's not good,
[50:24] right? Something is we know what's
[50:25] wrong. We discussed it for the the bulk
[50:27] of this podcast. Those things need to get better.
[50:29] So that's where I'm always going to be said.
[50:30] I'm always going to be analyzed. OK, let's peel back the layers.
[50:33] What's going on underneath the cracks and and and and beneath?
[50:36] Yeah, yeah, increasing on the podcast.
[50:38] I will say Twitter is awesome as a funnel and it gets us a lot of
[50:42] people here who TuneIn and even the haters, man, thank you all.
[50:46] Like you guys are so intelligent with the way you go about
[50:49] posting screenshots of us advertising us to your fans.
[50:52] Thank you. We actually hit a lot of peaks
[50:54] in viewership because of the haters.
[50:56] And I remember Keyon used to always tell me that at managing
[50:59] Madrid. Hey, haters also drive the
[51:00] views, man. You don't always have to be in
[51:02] love with the fans. And thank you to all the haters
[51:04] like you guys are monetizing us faster on audio platforms and
[51:08] stuff. Love.
[51:08] It we love it, we. Appreciate you all and all the
[51:11] smart fans tuning in. Appreciate you.
[51:12] If you're a smart fan and you tune in, I just want to point
[51:14] out Twitter has declined as a place to get information and
[51:17] there is no replacement threads in blue skies, Gerard will
[51:20] attest to threads are they're not getting the volume.
[51:23] But the problem with chat with Twitter is that it's a cortisol
[51:26] spiking algorithm now. It's designed for dopamine,
[51:29] cortisol spikes, shock and awe. This wasn't the case during our
[51:32] three peat man it and it did change during like it literally
[51:36] changed the last few years because it's like an AI driven
[51:39] algorithm. Everyone's verified and on some
[51:41] level it, it started pushing more stuff on the 4U page and
[51:45] but whether it wanted to push an agenda or not, it realized, hey,
[51:48] I can piss you off and get more people on here.
[51:50] It just realized that. And I believe this is actually
[51:53] the trajectory of any such platform.
[51:55] I think you start off building trust with your audience, doing
[51:58] them. Then you, you show them the
[52:01] things they want to hear and not us.
[52:02] We won't do that. But I'm just saying, no, never
[52:05] us. But like you, you create an
[52:06] algorithm that actually organically creates communities.
[52:09] Then you realize you, you're not getting enough out of it.
[52:11] And so then you push your agendas for advertisers, for
[52:14] investors, or you push your rage bait to spike minutes per user.
[52:18] So the current Twitter and I'm, I'm trying to follow more people
[52:22] and like, like really branch out and find all the right people
[52:25] and just promote them. Just retweeting shit now instead
[52:27] of tweeting because like people like that deserve to get a
[52:30] platform. And right now the majority of
[52:33] Twitter discourse on the for you page, it's a disaster.
[52:35] And so if you really want, if you really want good stuff, I'm
[52:37] saying you got to tune into the show because we're really gonna
[52:40] like honestly rage bait there like you're it's honestly like
[52:43] just to be straight up, it's not worth our time to go and explain
[52:45] ourselves on Twitter. I'd rather just put a tweet
[52:48] mocking people like Marsa saying are below a fix it and having
[52:51] people talk. If you want to hear the full
[52:53] perspective you're welcome to come here.
[52:54] But it's just funny. It's turned into a rage bait
[52:57] like before it was and it was with the link throttling.
[52:59] That's what started it. Before it was a place where you
[53:01] could funnel the long form content so you would have a long
[53:04] form attention span. Now a lot of the fan base is
[53:07] being infiltrated by people with 0 attention span.
[53:09] It's ridiculous. It's really just like fans of
[53:13] like purely social media fans who really don't know the game.
[53:15] So it's results oriented, right? Which there's nothing wrong with
[53:18] results, but what is your underlying process leading to
[53:22] said results? If the process is shit, I don't
[53:25] care what the results are. Because what that telling me is
[53:28] that the, the if the results are good, it's not sustainable,
[53:31] right? That that's what that's telling
[53:32] me. And hello, this is what Madrid's
[53:35] been, right? Not sustainable because the the
[53:37] underlying process has been shit.
[53:39] Yep. Lastly, did you like the new
[53:40] intro? Gerard?
[53:41] I know you, we were in a little rush, but isn't it fire?
[53:43] I, I do like it. It is fire.
[53:45] Hope you guys let us know in the comments and when you're sharing
[53:47] these people how much you like what you think about the new
[53:49] intro way to do some things cuz you know copyright infringement.
[53:51] We ain't trying to get in trouble out here in these
[53:53] streets. Yeah, yeah, no, we, we, we
[53:55] bought it. I just got to go tell YouTube,
[53:57] actually got to make sure YouTube hasn't demonetized us
[54:00] over it. But yeah, we, we bought the
[54:01] music and all. And I think the music is better.
[54:04] We want to work on an outro. So many things we want to do.
[54:06] But the reality of the the show and the fat team means we are
[54:10] constrained too. We're doing our best.
[54:12] We were supposed to have Hans, the Dutch guy, our Dutch
[54:14] moderista who went to the stadium, who took the clip of
[54:17] Courtois after Benfica waving the players back on the pitch
[54:21] and that went crazy viral all over social media.
[54:24] He just got a little sick today. So sorry, Hans going to make it.
[54:26] Talib was busy today too, but we will be back soon.
[54:29] Vacante is returning soon and return.
[54:32] Of Licante, get ready. Yep, and so we'll have a lot of
[54:35] public content, though I will say tactics and explaining
[54:38] things to people. It's not working as well guys.

[55:02] president and make sure we win Champions League after Champions
[55:04] League with the next president. That's all we want.
[55:07] Well, see you all on the other side.
