Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market. On this episode of Stock Movers: Listen for comprehensive cross-platform coverage of the US market close as heard on Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, and YouTube with Romaine Bostick, Tim Stenovec, Jess Menton - Rivian Automotive (RIVN) reported a smaller-than-expected loss and early momentum for its new R2 SUV. The company's revenue jumped 38% to nearly $2.2 billion, more than Wall Street expected, and the R2 became its top-selling model in its first full quarter on the market. Rivian raised the low end of its full-year delivery forecast to at least 67,000 EVs and named Derek Mulvey as its interim CFO, effective Oct. 30. - Intel (INTC) suffered its worst stock rout in more than four decades due to a PC industry slump and supply-chain snags that hurt its forecast. The company projects sales of $15 billion to $16 billion in the fourth quarter, with profit of 25 cents a share, excluding certain items, which is lower than analysts' estimates. Intel's stock fell as much as 30% in New York trading, and the company expects the PC downturn to persist through at least the first half of 2027, with a decline of 10% next year. - Reddit (RDDT had its biggest share drop since its initial public offering after saying it is planning to limit access to its online forums. The company plans to start testing different approaches in markets outside of the US throughout the fourth quarter to get users to register for accounts and deepen engagement. Reddit’s shares fell to $95 when trading opened in New York on Friday, after the company posted a revenue outlook that fell below analysts’ estimates. [0:21] Speaker 3: Let's get to some of the stocks that actually did
[0:23] Speaker 3: finish higher on the day today. Today's gainers include Rivian,
[0:26] Speaker 3: higher by... more than 6% today. This after the company
[0:29] Speaker 3: reported a smaller-than-expected loss in early momentum for that new
[0:33] Speaker 3: R2 SUV. Revenue jumped 38% more than Wall Street expected.
[0:37] Speaker 3: The R2 became its top-selling model in its first full
[0:40] Speaker 3: quarter on the market. Also, let's talk Chipotle. Chipotle Mexican
[0:45] Speaker 3: Grill sales rose faster than expected. In the third quarter,
[0:48] Speaker 3: due to more frequent menu launches revamped by loyalty offers,
[0:51] Speaker 3: Chipotle shares today up by 1.9%. The company expects to
[0:54] Speaker 3: close out the year with 2% higher prices. They anticipate
[0:57] Speaker 3: inflation of around 3% in the current quarter and elevated
[1:01] Speaker 3: levels next year. And finally, Intercontinental Exchange, ICE, the parent
[1:05] Speaker 3: company of the New York Stock Exchange. Over the last
[1:07] Speaker 3: couple of days, shares are up more than 9%. The
[1:10] Speaker 3: company having the best two-day run going back to March
[1:12] Speaker 3: of 2021. Third quarter adjusted earnings per share beat the
[1:16] Speaker 3: average analyst estimate. We heard that print yesterday. Today, we
[1:20] Speaker 3: saw seven analysts who cover the company raise their price
[1:22] Speaker 3: targets by an average of 5.5% according to Bloomberg data.
[1:26] Speaker 3: We had an exclusive interview with Jeff Sprecher, the chairman, CEO,
[1:29] Speaker 3: and founder of Intercontinental Exchange a little earlier. If you
[1:32] Speaker 3: missed any of that, we talked about perpetual futures and
[1:35] Speaker 3: the company's move to bring those onshore here in the U.S.
[1:38] Speaker 3: Do check that out on the Bloomberg terminal or at Bloomberg.com.
[1:42] Speaker 2: Looking at the decliners, guys, Intel down about 29%, worst
[1:47] Speaker 2: drop on record going back more than four decades on
[1:50] Speaker 2: Bloomberg data. So sinking after the company's outlook was much
[1:53] Speaker 2: weaker than expected due in part to that sluggishness in PCs. Also,
[1:58] Speaker 2: if you look at that stock, though, over the last
[1:59] Speaker 2: two years before today's trading, it had been up almost
[2:02] Speaker 2: 300 percent. If you think back to two years ago,
[2:04] Speaker 2: that's when it got kicked out of the Dow Jones
[2:06] Speaker 2: Industrial Average, went through some restructuring efforts that investors like.
[2:09] Speaker 2: But still, that stock is up over 70 percent year
[2:12] Speaker 2: to date, though you do see peers like Dell also
[2:15] Speaker 2: lower today. And then moving over, looking at crypto linked
[2:18] Speaker 2: related stock strategy down about 8 percent today. It's the
[2:22] Speaker 2: worst day since October 16th. So you're seeing those crypto
[2:25] Speaker 2: linked stocks as well, like Coinbase, as well as other peers,
[2:29] Speaker 2: Circle Internet, Galaxy Digital lowered a day. A strategy still
[2:32] Speaker 2: down around 14% year to date, but a lot of
[2:34] Speaker 2: that because of what's happening with those issues with Binance
[2:38] Speaker 2: suffering at the industry's biggest ever hack. So also Bitcoin
[2:42] Speaker 2: dropping below 77,000 for the first time in more than
[2:46] Speaker 2: a month here. And then Reddit down almost 30 percent,
[2:49] Speaker 2: so down 29 percent today. Worst day on record since
[2:53] Speaker 2: its 2024 initial public offering. It was saying it was
[2:56] Speaker 2: planning to limit access to its online forums. I would
[2:58] Speaker 2: point out, too, it's among the worst decliners this week
[3:01] Speaker 2: in the S & P 500, down more than 35
[3:03] Speaker 2: percent and also down about 60 percent year to date.
