[0:02] Speaker 1: Bloomberg Audio Studios.
[0:04] Speaker 2: Podcasts.
[0:05] Speaker 3: Radio.
[0:06] Speaker 2: News. This is The Closing Bell on the Stock Movers Report.
[0:13] Speaker 2: The companies making moves at the close of U.S. trading
[0:16] Speaker 2: with Carol Masser, Tim Stenevek, Romain Bostic, and Katie Greifeld.
[0:22] Speaker 4: All right, guys, let's get to some of the individual
[0:24] Speaker 4: gainers as we await some earnings to cross the Bloomberg.
[0:27] Speaker 4: I'm going to go to Western Digital and Seagate Technology,
[0:30] Speaker 4: both rallying in today's session. This is Rosenblatt came out.
[0:35] Speaker 4: They lowered the price target on Seagate today. to $ 1, 100
[0:40] Speaker 4: from $ 1, 400. They keep their buy rating on the shares
[0:42] Speaker 4: ahead of the fiscal first quarter report that's due out
[0:45] Speaker 4: after the close today, but they do favor Western Digital
[0:48] Speaker 4: as a relative catch-up opportunity. So again, you got almost
[0:52] Speaker 4: a 7% gain on Western Digital, and then you saw.
[0:55] Speaker 1: Seagate, Scarlett, just down about, forgive me, up about 3.7%.
[1:00] Speaker 3: All right, just a quick jump in here. Caesars Entertainment
[1:03] Speaker 3: reports their results. Third quarter net revenue of $ 2. 9 billion
[1:07] Speaker 3: seems to be a little bit light. Analysts were looking
[1:09] Speaker 3: for $ 2. 96 billion. It did report a loss for the
[1:12] Speaker 3: quarter of 61 cents a share. But net revenue pretty much,
[1:17] Speaker 3: you know, in line, if not a little bit lighter
[1:20] Speaker 3: than expected. Net debt, because this is an indebted company,
[1:23] Speaker 3: of about $ 10. 8 billion. And cash and cash equivalents for
[1:27] Speaker 3: the third quarter, $ 864 million. Keeping an eye here on
[1:31] Speaker 3: the after-hours trade. Unchanged at the moment, Carol.
[1:34] Speaker 4: Yeah, kind of quiet, but it's already up about 23% year-to-date.
[1:37] Speaker 4: So we'll keep a watch for any other headlines. Hey,
[1:39] Speaker 4: I want to go back to some of the gainers,
[1:41] Speaker 4: if I may. JetBlue, I want to pull that one up.
[1:44] Speaker 4: It definitely was higher by a lot. in today's session.
[1:49] Speaker 4: At its high, up about 25%, finishing the day with
[1:52] Speaker 4: a gain of just under 19%, rallying after the carrier
[1:55] Speaker 4: reiterated its expectation to deliver at least $ 1.
[1:59] Speaker 1: In earnings per share and positive free cash flow.
[2:02] Speaker 4: In 2028, the shares, as you remember yesterday, closed at
[2:06] Speaker 4: a record low as the airline grapples with cash burn
[2:08] Speaker 4: and elevated oil prices.
[2:10] Speaker 1: JetBlue going through a really tough time.
[2:13] Speaker 4: Keep in mind the company did reassure Wall Street that
[2:15] Speaker 4: it will be profitable next year despite persistent losses and
[2:18] Speaker 4: high oil prices. But we'll see what happens ultimately. But
[2:21] Speaker 4: it's been a tough going.
[2:22] Speaker 3: All right.
[2:23] Speaker 5: Your mince seat is safe for now, I guess.
[2:26] Speaker 3: Okay.
[2:26] Speaker 5: Let's start with some stocks in the red. Also, airline-related
[2:29] Speaker 5: Boeing shares tumbling today to an 18-month low, down 10.7%.
[2:34] Speaker 5: We can round that up to 11%. This was the
[2:36] Speaker 5: worst day going back to June of 2020. So, in
[2:39] Speaker 5: the midst of the pandemic, the depths of the pandemic,
[2:42] Speaker 5: lowest going back to April of 2025, the company cut
[2:45] Speaker 5: its full-year aircraft delivery target to It said it needs
[2:47] Speaker 5: more time to accommodate higher production rates. The company will
[2:50] Speaker 5: deliver closer to the lower end of its 787 Dreamliner guidance. Also,
[2:55] Speaker 5: I'm pretty obsessed with this story. I don't know if
[2:57] Speaker 5: you guys saw what happened with On Holding today.
[2:59] Speaker 3: The sneaker company?
[3:01] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[3:02] Speaker 5: Down 3%. It fell earlier in the session as much
[3:06] Speaker 5: as more than 5%. Brand ambassador, French football star, Kylian Mbappe,
[3:10] Speaker 5: facing backlash for offending Chinese fans with comments perceived as
[3:14] Speaker 5: insulting to Mao Zedong.
[3:17] Speaker 3: He's apologized, right?
[3:18] Speaker 5: He's apologized. He apologized for offending Chinese fans. The controversy
[3:23] Speaker 5: has led to state TV blocking his matches, social media
[3:25] Speaker 5: freezing his accounts, a slew of companies dropping him as ambassador,
[3:31] Speaker 5: including a dairy company in China, another beverage group in China.
[3:35] Speaker 5: Mbappe said his remarks were, quote, ill-judged and that he
[3:37] Speaker 5: has deep respect. for the Chinese people and their history.
[3:41] Speaker 5: And he's sincerely sorry for any offense caused by his tweet.
[3:43] Speaker 1: I guess he learned a lesson. I guess he did.
[3:46] Speaker 5: On shares down by 3% today. And finally, in the
[3:50] Speaker 5: M & A world, Cintas Corp shares fell today as
[3:52] Speaker 5: much as 7.5% earlier in the session. They recovered a
[3:55] Speaker 5: little bit to close down about 5%. Semaphore reported that
[3:58] Speaker 5: the FTC signal will move to block the Uniform Supplier's
[4:01] Speaker 5: $ 5. 5 billion acquisition of UniFirst. Cintas shares down about 5% today.
[4:07] Speaker 6: All right.
[4:07] Speaker 3: Let's take a look at yields. Not a whole lot
[4:10] Speaker 3: to talk about here. Pretty much unchanged to somewhat higher.
[4:14] Speaker 3: The 10-year yield, I will note, is still holding below 5%.
[4:19] Speaker 3: That's been such a key level. The peak was early October.
[4:23] Speaker 3: And since then, it's come down and has pretty much
[4:25] Speaker 3: stayed around those levels. All right. I wanted to bring
[4:29] Speaker 3: up a story that I saw. The Actually, you know what?
[4:34] Speaker 3: We have some breaking news. So forget the story I
[4:36] Speaker 3: wanted to talk about because we've got to get to earnings.
[4:39] Speaker 3: Robinhood coming out with results. Let's tell you about the
[4:42] Speaker 3: earnings per share. Fifty-one cents missing the average analyst estimate
[4:46] Speaker 3: by a nickel. Third quarter net revenue, $ 1. 42 billion, also
[4:50] Speaker 3: lighter than anticipated. The consensus estimate was for $ 1. 44 billion.
[4:55] Speaker 3: Crypto revenue, however, did top analyst estimates, $ 120 million versus
[5:00] Speaker 3: the estimated $ 114 million. Adjusted EBITDA of $ 808 million was
[5:05] Speaker 3: also higher than anticipated, Carol.
[5:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, interesting.
[5:07] Speaker 4: Just down about half a percent here. We saw, I think,
[5:10] Speaker 4: initially a bit of a bigger drop. Right now, you know,
[5:13] Speaker 4: the stock is down about 16, almost a little bit
[5:16] Speaker 4: more than 16% year to date here. But again, slightly
[5:20] Speaker 4: lower here. We'll look for, I think, a little bit
[5:22] Speaker 4: more from the headlines and the commentary. But it does
[5:25] Speaker 4: look like third quarter adjusted EBITDA is coming in stronger
[5:29] Speaker 4: than forecast, $ 808 million versus $ 771. 5 million. But again, stock
[5:34] Speaker 4: now down 1.7 percent, Scarlett.
[5:36] Speaker 3: Okay. We're just looking at Visa, which has crossed. Visa,
[5:40] Speaker 3: fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $ 3. 48, better than the expected $ 3.
[5:42] Speaker 5: 44.
[5:42] Speaker 3: Net revenue of $ 12. 1 billion, also slightly higher than the
[5:44] Speaker 3: estimated $ 12. 09 billion. In terms of fourth quarter total Visa
[5:46] Speaker 3: process transactions, $ 74. 2 billion in And we're looking for just
[5:59] Speaker 3: under $ 74 billion, Carol.
[6:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, the stock, you know, doing pretty well this year, 14%
[6:03] Speaker 4: to the upside. But investors a little bit disappointed here,
[6:07] Speaker 4: at least initially down about two-thirds of a percent, as
[6:09] Speaker 4: you said. Fourth quarter adjusted EPS, four cents better than
[6:12] Speaker 4: what the street was looking for. And even revenue coming
[6:15] Speaker 4: in slightly above. Fourth quarter net revenue, $ 12. 1 billion. And
[6:18] Speaker 4: the estimate on the street was $ 12.
[6:20] Speaker 6: 09.
[6:21] Speaker 4: And they're raising their quarterly dividend.
[6:24] Speaker 1: By 16% to $ 0. 78 a share. So, you know, guys,
[6:26] Speaker 1: giving something to investors.
[6:28] Speaker 6: Yeah. Well, Carol, I mean, analysts were looking particularly at
[6:31] Speaker 6: those cross-border trends.
[6:32] Speaker 1: And so I'm noting that as well.
[6:34] Speaker 6: Their fourth quarter cross-border volumes up about 14% on a
[6:38] Speaker 6: constant currency basis. It's probably a pretty healthy gain that
[6:41] Speaker 6: would satisfy the streets, given that they were expecting some
[6:44] Speaker 6: positivity there.
[6:46] Speaker 5: I'm looking at some commentary in the press release. Ryan McInerney,
[6:49] Speaker 5: the CEO, said that Visa delivered a milestone year, achieving
[6:53] Speaker 5: record net revenue up 15%, the strongest growth in over
[6:56] Speaker 5: 15 years, excluding the post-pandemic recovery and acquisition. This year,
[7:01] Speaker 5: they also demonstrated being nimble, essentially, changing with commerce and
[7:05] Speaker 5: the foundation that they're bringing as the commentary continues. That
[7:09] Speaker 5: call happening, though, a little later, and we'll bring you
[7:11] Speaker 5: any headlines from that as they do break.
[7:13] Speaker 6: Okay.
[7:13] Speaker 3: And also another name that we've been paying attention to,
[7:15] Speaker 3: storage memory name Seagate. First quarter adjusted EPS of $ 7. 68,
[7:21] Speaker 3: better than what analysts had been looking for, which was $ 7.
[7:23] Speaker 2: 39.
[7:23] Speaker 3: Revenue, $ 4. 2 billion, also higher than anticipated, which was seen
[7:29] Speaker 3: at $ 4. 11 billion. And Seagate raising its quarterly dividend by
[7:33] Speaker 3: about 3%, just 76 cents a share. Christina.
[7:36] Speaker 6: Well, Scarlett, I'm looking at their operating margins as well.
[7:39] Speaker 6: Adjusted operating margins for the first quarter, 50.7, slightly above
[7:43] Speaker 6: those estimates. And when it comes to these memory makers,
[7:46] Speaker 6: a lot of it is all about pricing power. Are
[7:49] Speaker 6: they going to be able to sustain that, given that
[7:51] Speaker 6: we've seen a little bit of a pullback in that
[7:53] Speaker 6: sector after a hot start to 2026?
[7:56] Speaker 4: I find this interesting, man. It's getting creamed in the aftermarket,
[7:58] Speaker 4: down about 8%. This is one of the high flyers
[8:02] Speaker 4: of the year. It's up about 142% year to date.
[8:04] Speaker 4: Remember last week when Western Digital reported, too, they beat expectations.
[8:09] Speaker 4: They gave an outlook that was well above expectations, and
[8:12] Speaker 4: we did see shares up.
[8:13] Speaker 1: And then they briefly went negative. So I find this
[8:16] Speaker 1: kind of interesting.
[8:18] Speaker 4: The company also raising its quarterly dividend around 3% to 76.
[8:21] Speaker 1: Cents a share. So these are important companies. I think
[8:25] Speaker 1: two of the only U.S.
[8:27] Speaker 4: Hard disk drive makers so key in terms of the
[8:30] Speaker 4: big AI build. And you know that trend that you
[8:33] Speaker 4: point out, the same thing happened with Micron as well, right?
[8:35] Speaker 4: They are coming out, they're beating analyst estimates, but they
[8:38] Speaker 4: got such a big lift early on that it's hard
[8:41] Speaker 4: for them.
[8:41] Speaker 3: To kind of meet expectations at this point. Right.
[8:43] Speaker 5: I want to go back to Robinhood. Shares now down
[8:45] Speaker 5: about 4% in the after hours. People are watching prediction
[8:48] Speaker 5: markets revenue very closely with Robinhood as it's become a
[8:51] Speaker 5: growing category. The company did say they saw record volumes,
[8:54] Speaker 5: not just for prediction markets, but record margin balances, record
[8:58] Speaker 5: volumes for equities, record volumes for options as well. The
[9:02] Speaker 5: company also said that perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers
[9:05] Speaker 5: and earnings contracts in the prediction markets hubs included the
[9:09] Speaker 5: slate of new products that it announced. Again, that call
[9:12] Speaker 5: starting soon. And we'll bring you headlines from that one
[9:14] Speaker 5: and from Vlad Tenev and the executive leadership there as well.
[9:17] Speaker 4: They also say they're not providing 2026 Outlook for total
[9:20] Speaker 4: operating expenses.
[9:21] Speaker 1: So a little bit more. So a lot of calls
[9:24] Speaker 1: with analysts from all of these companies.
[9:26] Speaker 4: So we'll be monitoring it all, of course, here at
