[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to the Maths Funny Podcast and
[0:02] Speaker 1: welcome to this week's podcast full of many updates and
[0:07] Speaker 1: drama and just random things happening across the Married at
[0:10] Speaker 1: First Sight world. I say world but it's just the
[0:13] Speaker 1: Australian cast and yeah there's quite a few things to
[0:17] Speaker 1: get through this week including some big updates from what's
[0:21] Speaker 1: happening on set of the upcoming series that's still filming
[0:25] Speaker 1: in Sydney as something quite controversial and unexpected has happened
[0:33] Speaker 1: but I'm very excited about what has happened and I
[0:35] Speaker 1: say all power to the two people who have done
[0:40] Speaker 1: what has been done which I'll get to but until.
[0:43] Speaker 2: Then what are the old cast up to?
[0:48] Speaker 1: Firstly Rhi has finally opened up about why she broke
[0:52] Speaker 1: up From Jeff, I said the word finally there as
[0:56] Speaker 1: if she owed us an explanation, which she absolutely did not.
[0:59] Speaker 1: But Rhi has finally made the choice within herself to
[1:04] Speaker 1: offer some more information publicly about what happened between her
[1:08] Speaker 1: and Jeff. And this is a preview of her speaking
[1:11] Speaker 1: on the Life Uncut podcast.
[1:13] Speaker 3: I wanted to be someone's wife. I wanted to be
[1:16] Speaker 3: a mom. I wanted my life to progress. And I
[1:18] Speaker 3: found myself having the same conversations on repeat about the future.
[1:23] Speaker 3: And then it makes you start doubting how they feel
[1:26] Speaker 3: about you. When someone isn't bringing up anything to do
[1:29] Speaker 3: with the future, you start to question yourself and how
[1:32] Speaker 3: they feel, and then you become insecure in the relationship.
[1:35] Speaker 3: I think when I think back to how I was feeling,
[1:36] Speaker 3: I was just so disappointed. I really did think this
[1:40] Speaker 3: was it for me. And I guess seeing how the
[1:43] Speaker 3: relationship ended, I just really didn't think it was going
[1:45] Speaker 3: to end that way.
[1:46] Speaker 2: And when I've done.
[1:49] Speaker 4: Sorry. Okay.
[1:51] Speaker 3: It just, it definitely hurts what you hear afterwards.
[1:54] Speaker 1: That audio you just heard there was from like a
[1:57] Speaker 1: promo that Life Uncut pushed out. And there was a
[1:59] Speaker 1: few things there with not much context, but my takeaway
[2:03] Speaker 1: from listening to the whole interview about, you know, why
[2:06] Speaker 1: they broke up is Rhi essentially just got to the
[2:09] Speaker 1: point where she wasn't going to be strung along anymore
[2:14] Speaker 1: as Jeff's actions kind of no longer matched his words.
[2:18] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[2:19] Speaker 1: And by that, if you haven't listened to that interview
[2:21] Speaker 1: and you're not going to, it's like Asri and Jeff
[2:25] Speaker 1: spoke about like building a future together. Like they spoke
[2:28] Speaker 1: about that when they were leaving maths and going into
[2:30] Speaker 1: the real world together. Like when it actually came down
[2:33] Speaker 1: to building towards the future they wanted, especially like in
[2:37] Speaker 1: regards to planning for children and having children, like despite
[2:41] Speaker 1: previously Jeff saying how much he also wanted that and
[2:45] Speaker 1: was aligned with really with you know the same visions
[2:47] Speaker 1: it seems he then wasn't actually following through with that
[2:50] Speaker 1: or showing any interest in actually progressing things or their
[2:54] Speaker 1: relationship and here he's really talking a little bit more
[2:58] Speaker 1: on this like especially in regards to her one day becoming.
[3:01] Speaker 3: A mother You know, I was hoping to be pregnant
[3:04] Speaker 3: at the end of this year and obviously things have
[3:06] Speaker 3: changed for me, which is fine. But when you do
[3:09] Speaker 3: get older, you don't just ride the wave like you
[3:12] Speaker 3: would in your 20s where you're like, let's just see
[3:14] Speaker 3: how things go. And I'm actually going through an egg
[3:17] Speaker 3: freezing journey.
[3:19] Speaker 2: Which I'm excited about. Welcome to the club. Yes. I've
[3:21] Speaker 2: done four rounds. If you want to talk about anything.
[3:23] Speaker 3: I would love to talk about it. You know, I
[3:25] Speaker 3: know 36 isn't old by any means, but it did
[3:29] Speaker 3: keep me stuck there for a little bit purely because
[3:31] Speaker 3: of what I wanted so badly. Yeah. But yeah, I
[3:34] Speaker 3: guess if you are listening and you feel like that
[3:36] Speaker 3: you're questioning your relationship on the daily, then in my opinion,
[3:40] Speaker 3: I think don't stay stuck.
[3:43] Speaker 1: Moving on now, Lucinda Light is going viral amongst many
[3:48] Speaker 1: A-list celebrities. And actually by A-list celebrities, I say the
[3:52] Speaker 1: word A-list loosely. But Lucinda is going viral amongst some
[3:55] Speaker 1: pretty big names. And it all started when Lucinda recently
[4:00] Speaker 1: posted this TikTok on the beach.
[4:04] Speaker 2: I just went in the ocean. Topless, you've got boobs too.
[4:08] Speaker 4: And it is the best reset. The ocean is my favourite,
[4:12] Speaker 4: one of my favourite medicines. Along with knee-slapping laughter, sunshine,
[4:19] Speaker 4: good connection, beautiful food, wholesome food. Heavenly. Yes.
[4:28] Speaker 2: Since then, that TikTok has gone mad viral.
[4:31] Speaker 1: It's had six million views and like tens of thousands
[4:34] Speaker 1: of people have shared themselves lip-syncing to Lucinda's audio because
[4:41] Speaker 1: it's just so great. And amongst the people resharing the
[4:44] Speaker 1: audio of them, lip-syncing is Maisie Williams, the actress who
[4:48] Speaker 1: most people will know from Game of Thrones, and also
[4:50] Speaker 1: Cara Delevingne, who most people know for being a supermodel
[4:55] Speaker 1: from the UK. She has acted in a few things too.
[4:59] Speaker 1: Do I know any of the films?
[5:01] Speaker 4: Nah.
[5:02] Speaker 1: But yeah, that's pretty cool in my eyes. And Cara
[5:05] Speaker 1: Delevingne also wrote how she first fell in love with
[5:08] Speaker 1: Lucinda when watching her on Maths a few years ago.
[5:11] Speaker 1: And I love that, you know, it's not just us
[5:15] Speaker 1: random normal people like obsessed with this show and gossiping
[5:18] Speaker 1: about it and sharing it with our mates, but it's
[5:20] Speaker 1: people like Cara Delevingne and all these random super famous
[5:24] Speaker 1: people all around the world who are just as equally
[5:27] Speaker 1: obsessed with our Aussie version. Lucinda also shared another viral
[5:32] Speaker 1: TikTok recently for anybody struggling with their.
[5:36] Speaker 2: Mental health. And this is her advice.
[5:40] Speaker 4: Mental health, note to self, never stop being C-H-E-E-K-Y.
[5:45] Speaker 2: That's right. Never stop being cheeky.
[5:49] Speaker 1: And I just want to say, I think Lucinda Light
[5:52] Speaker 1: is just fabulous. She's such a breath of fresh air
[5:56] Speaker 1: and such a unique, and fascinating personality. And like, you know,
[6:01] Speaker 1: when you're scrolling social media, it can often feel so
[6:04] Speaker 1: repetitive of everybody's trying to like these days look the
[6:07] Speaker 1: same or be the same or have the same opinions.
[6:09] Speaker 1: And just like, you know, there's so many copies of,
[6:13] Speaker 1: But even when we look at the cast of Maths
[6:14] Speaker 1: of the Year, half the time it feels like they've
[6:16] Speaker 1: just copy and pasted the.
[6:17] Speaker 2: Cast from the previous year.
[6:19] Speaker 1: You know, okay, we've got one girl with this type
[6:21] Speaker 1: of villain personality and she likes lip filler and that.
[6:24] Speaker 2: Okay, oh, and she's got tattoos. Copy and paste, copy
[6:27] Speaker 2: and paste.
[6:28] Speaker 1: Oh, there's a guy with slightly misogynistic traditional wife views
[6:33] Speaker 1: which are kind of scary to broadcast.
[6:35] Speaker 2: Oh, we've had that before. That worked. Copy and paste,
[6:37] Speaker 2: copy and paste.
[6:38] Speaker 1: And then amongst that, every few years we find a
[6:41] Speaker 1: gem like Lucinda Light. Lucinda, if you're listening, keep on
[6:45] Speaker 1: being you because you are just great. Look at me
[6:50] Speaker 1: being so positive on this Friday, which is funny because
[6:53] Speaker 1: my life at the minute, not very positive. I am
[6:56] Speaker 1: mid breakup. Can you break up with someone if you
[7:00] Speaker 1: were never officially together? I did recently mention, and I
[7:03] Speaker 1: think maybe the last podcast that I made a joke
[7:05] Speaker 1: about having no significant other in my life and then
[7:09] Speaker 1: i received a few messages because people were like hey
[7:11] Speaker 1: weren't you dating and seeing somebody which i mentioned in
[7:14] Speaker 1: my other podcast um and yes i was and the
[7:18] Speaker 1: last few days this week that has collapsed wow i'm
[7:23] Speaker 1: really going off script here anyway moving on what the
[7:26] Speaker 1: hell is happening with the current season of maths that's
[7:29] Speaker 1: still being filmed in sydney Last week, I mentioned how
[7:34] Speaker 1: one groom had been abruptly kicked off the show due
[7:36] Speaker 1: to an off-camera incident, which is all according to Daily Mail,
[7:40] Speaker 1: and I'm still not entirely sure what that incident was
[7:44] Speaker 1: and what actually happened, but I've since found out something
[7:48] Speaker 1: even more juicy, and that's that there's one couple on
[7:52] Speaker 1: the upcoming series who are currently together going strong, but
[7:57] Speaker 1: they were not matched together. So there's a bit of
[7:59] Speaker 1: partner swapping returning to the show, like the good old
[8:03] Speaker 1: days of Married at First Sight. None of this recent
[8:06] Speaker 1: storylines of, oh, I think my partner fancies like another bride. Like,
[8:10] Speaker 1: you know, last year we had Beck accusing Danny of
[8:13] Speaker 1: liking Gia and that became a thing that dragged on.
[8:15] Speaker 2: And it was like, all right, is this going anywhere?
[8:19] Speaker 1: Especially when you compare it to like, you know, the
[8:21] Speaker 1: old days of like Jess Power, Dan Webb, Ines....
[8:26] Speaker 2: And Sam.
[8:27] Speaker 1: Now this is starting to suggest that I maybe condone cheating,
[8:30] Speaker 1: which I absolutely do not. But with this show, we
[8:35] Speaker 1: expect a certain level of drama. And like, if you're
[8:38] Speaker 1: gonna allude to somebody liking somebody else or messaging someone else,
[8:41] Speaker 1: like give us a proper good storyline, not like, oh,
[8:44] Speaker 1: I think he sent a message. Like if you're gonna swap, swap,
[8:48] Speaker 1: get your keys in a bowl, do some swinging, do
[8:50] Speaker 1: what you need to do. Anyway, what I'm told about
[8:52] Speaker 1: this particular new pairing is, and I don't want to
[8:55] Speaker 1: spoil too much so early on but they are essentially
[9:00] Speaker 1: saying to the producers fuck off and you do what
[9:04] Speaker 1: we say like we are calling the shots here and
[9:08] Speaker 1: producers have been like begging them I'm told to make
[9:12] Speaker 1: a big thing about you know them being a new
[9:14] Speaker 1: couple on camera and build like the drama as big
[9:17] Speaker 1: as they possibly can which you know obviously this show
[9:20] Speaker 1: likes to do.
[9:21] Speaker 2: And although everybody now knows, you know.
[9:23] Speaker 1: This is a new couple, I don't know how that
[9:25] Speaker 1: plays out on the show, but instead of like sensationalizing
[9:29] Speaker 1: it as much as the producers want, this new couple
[9:32] Speaker 1: are a bit like, uh, yeah, so that's not what
[9:36] Speaker 1: we want to do because we're kind of happy right now.
[9:38] Speaker 1: And if we do what you want us to do,
[9:40] Speaker 1: we're probably not going to be happy. So yeah, not
[9:43] Speaker 1: going to go along with your plans, producers, but thanks
[9:45] Speaker 1: for that. And I absolutely love that they're doing it.
[9:49] Speaker 1: And they're basically just like, yo, like your experts shit
[9:52] Speaker 1: at matching people, producers shit at making couples last. So
[9:55] Speaker 1: why would we listen to all of you when at
[9:58] Speaker 1: this point in time, we're actually happy and at the
[10:02] Speaker 1: start of this current season like what six weeks ago
[10:05] Speaker 1: i did a podcast on here that some of you
[10:07] Speaker 1: may remember and it was called like an open letter
[10:09] Speaker 1: to the new cast and one of my main points
[10:13] Speaker 1: in that which i wanted this new cast to know
[10:15] Speaker 1: is like remember you guys hold all of the power
[10:19] Speaker 1: They need you, like Channel 9 and the producers and
[10:22] Speaker 1: the show. You don't need them because there is no
[10:26] Speaker 1: show without you. And like every year cast members come
[10:30] Speaker 1: forward saying how like producers said, oh, if I don't
[10:32] Speaker 1: go along with this, they'll ruin my reputation. Or they
[10:35] Speaker 1: said they won't give me any interviews and press opportunities
[10:38] Speaker 1: to like defend myself or this and that.
[10:41] Speaker 2: And you know what?
[10:41] Speaker 1: And I said this in that recent pod, they're all
[10:44] Speaker 1: just baseless frets. And people every year, like, they buckle
[10:50] Speaker 1: under those threats and the pressure because they don't understand
[10:53] Speaker 1: this world or this industry or how any of it works.
[10:56] Speaker 2: And if you've got, like, a.
[10:57] Speaker 1: Big boss from a TV show going, you must do
[11:00] Speaker 1: as I say or otherwise you'll regret it because of X, Y,
[11:03] Speaker 1: and Z. Like, you would go along with it because
[11:07] Speaker 1: if you're, like, what, a random farmer from the country...
[11:10] Speaker 1: you don't know how any of this works, but I do.
[11:13] Speaker 1: And that's why I keep going. You guys hold all
[11:16] Speaker 1: the power, remind them that. And if they're making you
[11:18] Speaker 1: do something you don't want, just go, see ya. I'll
[11:21] Speaker 1: get your phone out and just film what's happening behind
[11:23] Speaker 1: the scenes because they do not want that shit coming
[11:25] Speaker 1: out publicly. And yeah, I just love that this couple,
[11:28] Speaker 1: as producers are trying to make him do whatever, they're
[11:31] Speaker 1: just like, Nah, no thanks. We'll let you know what
[11:35] Speaker 1: we want to do and how we wish to proceed
[11:37] Speaker 1: with your show and what we will and won't do
[11:39] Speaker 1: on camera. And you have no choice but to go
[11:41] Speaker 1: along with what we tell you. And yeah, that brings
[11:44] Speaker 1: us to the end of this week's podcast. I will
[11:46] Speaker 1: catch you all next week with whatever more updates I have.
[11:52] Speaker 2: Maybe I'll be a bit.
[11:53] Speaker 1: I'd say happier, but I feel like I've just been
[11:55] Speaker 1: kind of upbeat in this podcast. Over the next few
[11:59] Speaker 1: days also I'm going to have an update on the
[12:01] Speaker 1: Katie Walker podcast, The Disappearance of Katie Walker. This week
[12:06] Speaker 1: I have found out or been part of some pretty
[12:10] Speaker 1: big discoveries in that investigation which in my opinion changes
[12:16] Speaker 1: many things.
[12:19] Speaker 2: I'm currently just.
[12:19] Speaker 1: Working out what I can legally share publicly for now
[12:23] Speaker 1: so I'm not interfering with an active investigation but Yeah,
[12:27] Speaker 1: this new evidence we have is pretty huge, to be honest.
[12:33] Speaker 2: For now, though, see ya.
[12:35] Speaker 1: And if you're that new couple I mentioned from maths,
[12:39] Speaker 1: if you're listening, good on ya.
[12:43] Speaker 2: Again, I just love that you're calling the shots. Never stop.
