[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to the masterphon new podcast, and
[0:02] Speaker 1: welcome to what may be my favorite episode of the year,
[0:05] Speaker 1: because when I did this exact same thing last season,
[0:08] Speaker 1: it was one of my favorite episodes of the year.
[0:10] Speaker 1: And today, now everything is over and all has been
[0:14] Speaker 1: said and done, I'm going to rewatch everybody's audition tapes
[0:18] Speaker 1: and intro videos to see like who were true to
[0:22] Speaker 1: their word, who were honest from the start, who were
[0:25] Speaker 1: exactly as they said they were going to be, and who.
[0:28] Speaker 2: Were the complete opposite.
[0:31] Speaker 1: And quickly, before I get into that, I just want
[0:33] Speaker 1: to thank everyone who clicked over to subscribe and follow
[0:36] Speaker 1: and listen to the first teaser of my new podcast,
[0:39] Speaker 1: Occasionally Funny, which I can now tell you the first
[0:42] Speaker 1: episode is this Friday, And actually I'm very excited, and
[0:46] Speaker 1: I haven't been this excited about like a new project
[0:49] Speaker 1: or venture for quite a long time, to be honest,
[0:52] Speaker 1: And it's kind of all thanks to you guys and
[0:54] Speaker 1: the support you've given me over the last couple of months,
[0:57] Speaker 1: and like that confidence to try something new and know that, hey,
[1:02] Speaker 1: people are excited like I'm excited. And the first episode
[1:06] Speaker 1: on Friday is gonna feature somebody who you guys have
[1:11] Speaker 1: all been wanting to hear from again, especially here from
[1:14] Speaker 1: with me. There's your teaser. Have a think about that.
[1:18] Speaker 1: But yeah, that podcast, it's like I'm seeing that as
[1:21] Speaker 1: the sister show two Math's Funny, where it's more general
[1:24] Speaker 1: life dating. Just I just want it to be a
[1:26] Speaker 1: place to have fun where people listen and they just
[1:30] Speaker 1: have a smile on their faces. And yeah, I'll touch
[1:32] Speaker 1: on serious stuff now and again, but I'll approach it
[1:35] Speaker 1: with humor, which is what I think I've always done
[1:38] Speaker 1: in my life. And quickly once again. It is linked
[1:41] Speaker 1: in the show notes of this podcast. If you want
[1:43] Speaker 1: to subscribe again, I'll click over just to get ready
[1:46] Speaker 1: for Friday's episode and then it'll be in your feeds
[1:49] Speaker 1: if you do follow now. And yeah, let's stop rambling
[1:52] Speaker 1: and get into today's audition types, right, I'm going to
[1:58] Speaker 1: start with a man who I assume most of you
[2:00] Speaker 1: have already forgotten by now, because I'll be honest, I
[2:03] Speaker 1: had forgotten him until about six minutes ago. And that's
[2:06] Speaker 1: old mate Stephen, who was matched with Rebecca, and this
[2:11] Speaker 1: was him in his audition after being asked, Stephen, what's
[2:15] Speaker 1: going wrong in the past for you when dating.
[2:17] Speaker 3: So I've been married once and engaged once.
[2:20] Speaker 4: Okay, so talk it through it, talk us through.
[2:25] Speaker 1: The marriage.
[2:26] Speaker 3: So I was like a dad for the first time,
[2:28] Speaker 3: and I just went out and drank, and I had
[2:30] Speaker 3: friends that probably didn't have my back, you know, they
[2:33] Speaker 3: kind of passed like I want to do. Still, it
[2:37] Speaker 3: has been an issue.
[2:38] Speaker 2: Yes, And here I.
[2:39] Speaker 3: Am now single at fifty, and I just I can't
[2:43] Speaker 3: find them, that's all. So I'm selfish.
[2:46] Speaker 4: Y're selfish.
[2:48] Speaker 3: I have been selfish in the past, like I just
[2:51] Speaker 3: seem to do whatever I want to do. Still, it
[2:55] Speaker 3: has been an issue. Yes, I don't know how easily
[2:58] Speaker 3: that is to change. I don't think you should have
[3:01] Speaker 3: to change at this age. I don't want to spend
[3:04] Speaker 3: at fifty, let's fist forward to seventy five. I don't
[3:07] Speaker 3: want to spend next twenty five years of my life,
[3:09] Speaker 3: you know, going to therapy trying to change who I am.
[3:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean no, Stephen, you shouldn't have to change
[3:17] Speaker 1: who you are to be with somebody.
[3:18] Speaker 5: No.
[3:19] Speaker 1: But if you have bad behavior, like being selfish in
[3:22] Speaker 1: a relationship, which you're openly aware of, yes, that is
[3:27] Speaker 1: something you should change, not for the other person, but
[3:31] Speaker 1: for yourself, because if you don't, you're just going to
[3:33] Speaker 1: be sad and lonely as you are now. Or maybe
[3:37] Speaker 1: you're not sad, maybe you're just lonely, which is why
[3:40] Speaker 1: you went a maths foot, mate, Like, come on, how
[3:42] Speaker 1: does someone get to age fifty and just be this?
[3:46] Speaker 1: I don't want to say dumb because that feels mean,
[3:48] Speaker 1: but like, if you acknowledge you are a selfish partner
[3:51] Speaker 1: in relationships and that's why your previous relationships have failed,
[3:55] Speaker 1: why would you then go, well, I'm not going to change. Well,
[3:58] Speaker 1: no one's going to be with you, mate. So was
[4:00] Speaker 1: Stephen true to his audition tape? I'd say yeah, because
[4:03] Speaker 1: he came across as a bit of an idiot there,
[4:04] Speaker 1: and there's a bit of an idiot on the show.
[4:06] Speaker 2: So well I didn't mate.
[4:07] Speaker 1: Least you were true to your word. Next up, let's
[4:10] Speaker 1: go to back on the show. She obviously proved herself
[4:13] Speaker 1: to be quite insecure, especially when dating, and you know,
[4:17] Speaker 1: she was often unhinged, but ultimately she did want.
[4:22] Speaker 2: Love and we can't deny that.
[4:23] Speaker 1: Like we could see that, we saw how hard she
[4:26] Speaker 1: felt for Danny, and here she is in her audition tape.
[4:30] Speaker 6: Do you think he's been started?
[4:31] Speaker 7: Absolutely, I'm verty five, I'm single. I'm the only one
[4:35] Speaker 7: left that single. I need all the help I can get.
[4:38] Speaker 7: You know, I'm fine and chatty and stuff, but there's
[4:40] Speaker 7: a deeper side to me as well. But for my
[4:42] Speaker 7: whole life, I've never thought I was worthy. Sorry, I
[4:45] Speaker 7: don't mean to be emotional, but it's like you know
[4:48] Speaker 7: you are. Yeah, you do sometimes wake up and you think,
[4:52] Speaker 7: like everyone else is off on their weekends with their
[4:55] Speaker 7: partners and you're sitting here with your dog. I'm looking
[4:58] Speaker 7: for it for another human being that wants to communicate
[5:00] Speaker 7: with me, And yeah, we're going to argue and then
[5:03] Speaker 7: we're gonna make up.
[5:03] Speaker 1: Well, I mean that was true. She definitely argued on
[5:07] Speaker 1: the show, not just in her relationship with most of
[5:10] Speaker 1: the cast, but at least she.
[5:12] Speaker 2: Was honest right.
[5:15] Speaker 1: Also, yeah, I suppose in our audition she kind of
[5:17] Speaker 1: sounded sorry like this sounds brutal, but like a bit
[5:21] Speaker 1: desperate to find love, which we saw her on the show.
[5:25] Speaker 1: So once again, yeah accurate. Over to Scott now and
[5:30] Speaker 1: on the Channel nin website here where the audition tape is,
[5:32] Speaker 1: it says he makes a sex confession about his ex,
[5:36] Speaker 1: which I actually have no idea what this is because
[5:40] Speaker 1: I don't remember this on the show.
[5:42] Speaker 4: Have you ever been in love?
[5:44] Speaker 1: I was my past relationship.
[5:46] Speaker 8: Yeah, I feel out of love with her because.
[5:54] Speaker 2: Intimacy dragged away and we just weren't having any sex.
[5:57] Speaker 2: I was working with dreams every day as I was like,
[6:02] Speaker 2: if there's no food to coward and normal go shopping.
[6:04] Speaker 1: But I'm not like that.
[6:04] Speaker 2: I will never cheat in my life because it's hapened
[6:06] Speaker 2: to me.
[6:06] Speaker 1: So I left.
[6:08] Speaker 9: Did you try anything to kind of figure out? I
[6:10] Speaker 9: went to a sex psychologist, talked to it worked for
[6:14] Speaker 9: a day.
[6:15] Speaker 1: You know what, Actually I fully rate that answer, and
[6:18] Speaker 1: he's right, Yeah, they've channel and I have teased as
[6:20] Speaker 1: like sex confession, like it's outrageous. But if that sexual
[6:25] Speaker 1: spik is gone in a relationship, like you do slowly
[6:29] Speaker 1: just become two friends. Or that's what actually happened in
[6:32] Speaker 1: my marriage a few years ago. So Scott being open
[6:36] Speaker 1: about that and saying he brought it up to his
[6:38] Speaker 1: partner and he then did counseling, like instead of just
[6:42] Speaker 1: sleeping around behind the back like some guys would do
[6:45] Speaker 1: when they're not getting it at home, like there to me,
[6:49] Speaker 1: that says decent guy, which is what we saw on
[6:52] Speaker 1: the show. And now let's go to Scott's partner or
[6:55] Speaker 1: ex partner now jeer, oh god, and let's out with
[7:00] Speaker 1: her backstory.
[7:02] Speaker 8: My name's Gia.
[7:03] Speaker 9: I'm thirty five and I'm a disability support worker from Melbourne.
[7:08] Speaker 9: I think people perceive me as just a bimbo, given
[7:12] Speaker 9: how I look and everything. But beneath the fake lips,
[7:15] Speaker 9: fake teeth, fake tits is the realist girl and there's
[7:20] Speaker 9: so much more.
[7:21] Speaker 4: To me than that.
[7:22] Speaker 1: Just interrupting for a secon, but yeah, like she's being
[7:24] Speaker 1: honest there. There definitely was a lot more to her
[7:27] Speaker 1: than those things. And yeah, just it just wasn't great.
[7:32] Speaker 9: I was very bullied in school, very very bullied, and
[7:36] Speaker 9: it went all the way through high school.
[7:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, what were they targeting?
[7:41] Speaker 9: Boys would say things like why don't you grow some tits?
[7:43] Speaker 9: Surfboard and like have you ever had a boyfriend? And
[7:47] Speaker 9: obviously I didn't. I was such. I never dated boys,
[7:51] Speaker 9: didn't have a boyfriend until I was like twenty. I
[7:53] Speaker 9: didn't really have many friends. I didn't fit in with
[7:56] Speaker 9: the other girls. I didn't fit in. I was kind
[7:59] Speaker 9: of a weird loner, so I feel like it shaped
[8:04] Speaker 9: me to be who I am.
[8:05] Speaker 1: You know what. I actually never understand this how someone
[8:09] Speaker 1: who has been bullied in the past then goes on
[8:12] Speaker 1: to become the bully later in life, which is what
[8:15] Speaker 1: we saw with Jea like on the show, And like
[8:19] Speaker 1: it's sad really when you think about, like, I don't know,
[8:22] Speaker 1: like if you know how that hurts to be the
[8:24] Speaker 1: victim of something, surely you're then aware when you start
[8:28] Speaker 1: doing it to other people. Or maybe like I've not
[8:30] Speaker 1: really been bullied in my life, Like I was teased
[8:34] Speaker 1: whatever in school, like gay jokes and that, but I
[8:36] Speaker 1: was never relentlessly bullied. It was more the occasional comment
[8:42] Speaker 1: or thing or actually, I'm just googling now. And twenty
[8:45] Speaker 1: two to thirty percent of bully victims do go on
[8:49] Speaker 1: to become.
[8:50] Speaker 2: Bullies later in life.
[8:52] Speaker 1: This cycle often stems from trauma causing victims.
[8:55] Speaker 2: To adopt the behaviors of their abusers to.
[8:58] Speaker 1: Manage feelings of helplessness, and in this bully victim cycle,
[9:02] Speaker 1: which is what it's called, victims may become aggressive towards
[9:04] Speaker 1: others or in some cases, continue to be bullied while
[9:08] Speaker 1: also bullying weaker targets in a way to regain power.
[9:14] Speaker 1: That actually makes perfect sense now we know like what
[9:16] Speaker 1: Gea went through in school as the victim and how
[9:20] Speaker 1: she now interacts with others on the show, especially that
[9:23] Speaker 1: thing about like bullying weaker targets, because as we know,
[9:27] Speaker 1: MATHS is essentially a battle for fame and followers and
[9:31] Speaker 1: for other brides want to come out on top. So yeah,
[9:35] Speaker 1: going after who she perceived all weaker targets does make sense.
[9:39] Speaker 2: It's kind of just sad.
[9:40] Speaker 1: But so that audio there was in Gia's backstory which
[9:45] Speaker 1: was like produced as a TV intro which we watched
[9:49] Speaker 1: on the show, But this now is her actual audition
[9:52] Speaker 1: interview with producers. And with these auditions, I don't think
[9:56] Speaker 1: the cast members often think they'll be used on the
[10:00] Speaker 1: show online, which is why they're often a bit more
[10:04] Speaker 1: rogue than the TV ones, which are obviously heavily produced
[10:08] Speaker 1: to set a narrative.
[10:10] Speaker 2: Well, if I'm not.
[10:11] Speaker 9: Someone who has like a bunch of girlfriends, I just
[10:12] Speaker 9: don't I don't know what it is. They'll be drama
[10:15] Speaker 9: for sure. Like if somebody doesn't.
[10:17] Speaker 7: Like me, they're going to know about it.
[10:19] Speaker 9: I'm not going to sit there and be like, it's okay,
[10:21] Speaker 9: I'm not nice like that.
[10:23] Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I guess I guess she was true to
[10:26] Speaker 1: our word with that one. All right, let's let's stick
[10:29] Speaker 1: with the villains and actually, let's see what Juliet was
[10:31] Speaker 1: saying in her intro when she was first introduced to us.
[10:35] Speaker 10: I'm Juliette. I'm twenty seven and I'm a receptionist from Melbourne.
[10:39] Speaker 10: I try to live life without any regrets. My theory
[10:44] Speaker 10: in life is yes, man. I love to have fun,
[10:48] Speaker 10: I love to travel, I love to just live live.
[10:51] Speaker 10: So I just like to say yes to almost everything.
[10:54] Speaker 1: Okay, almost everything except being a nice person to your partner,
[11:00] Speaker 1: my future husband.
[11:01] Speaker 10: To be someone who when you know, I'm like going
[11:04] Speaker 10: through the aisles of Kohle's like dancing and like just
[11:08] Speaker 10: like feeling myself. I just like I would like someone
[11:11] Speaker 10: who wants to, you know, celebrate that of me rather
[11:16] Speaker 10: than try make me hide that as myself. Someone he's
[11:19] Speaker 10: like genius. I'm envisioning like class clown vibes, you know,
[11:25] Speaker 10: everybody's favorite guy like perfectly matches your energy level. I
[11:29] Speaker 10: want to go. I want to goof forward that looks
[11:31] Speaker 10: so I want to laugh. I just want to laugh, Like,
[11:34] Speaker 10: how much is it gonna take me?
[11:36] Speaker 7: Laugh?
[11:36] Speaker 1: So Juliet wanted a goofball and someone to laugh with,
[11:39] Speaker 1: which is.
[11:39] Speaker 2: Exactly what she got with Joel.
[11:41] Speaker 1: But instead of laughing with him and enjoying his goofiness,
[11:45] Speaker 1: she tried to destroy him and call him cringe and
[11:48] Speaker 1: embarrass him and belittle him. And yeah, Juliet, I'm sorry
[11:52] Speaker 1: if you're listening, but you do not past the backstory
[11:55] Speaker 1: check because the version of you and this is not
[11:58] Speaker 1: the version we watched.
[12:00] Speaker 2: All right, Let's go over to Joel now.
[12:03] Speaker 1: And this is him in his audition take, which he
[12:06] Speaker 1: himself posted to Instagram.
[12:07] Speaker 6: Good a maths. I'm Joel Moses and I'm a model
[12:09] Speaker 6: who hasn't been on a date in five years. Yes,
[12:13] Speaker 6: you heard that correctly. I bet you haven't heard those
[12:15] Speaker 6: two sentences put together before. That's because I'm unique and
[12:19] Speaker 6: I'm authentic. I'm honest, I'm open and quite frankly, I
[12:24] Speaker 6: don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about me. But
[12:27] Speaker 6: I'm also other things. I'm funny, I'm charismatic, I have
[12:31] Speaker 6: a larger than life personality, and I have a natural
[12:34] Speaker 6: magnetism that draws other people in I connect with people effortlessly.
[12:39] Speaker 6: Human connection is my speciality.
[12:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, I reckon that checks out to be honest. That
[12:44] Speaker 1: seems the version of him we.
[12:46] Speaker 2: Got to watch on screen? Who we got next?
[12:50] Speaker 1: Omel our favorite starker, who actually after the show said
[12:54] Speaker 1: she never actually stark directs and that was just a joke.
[12:57] Speaker 1: So I do need to stop calling her starky mail. Sorry,
[13:01] Speaker 1: mel So here is non stocky male. In her audition,
[13:05] Speaker 1: when she was asked why is she still single?
[13:09] Speaker 11: This is gonna sound bad, but I genuinely think it's
[13:13] Speaker 11: not me. I'm like, what, I don't think it is, Like,
[13:16] Speaker 11: I think I'm perfectly fine just.
[13:18] Speaker 1: To insert quickly there, Sorry Malt, but I do actually
[13:21] Speaker 1: think it is you.
[13:23] Speaker 12: Sorry.
[13:24] Speaker 11: I keep going for people that don't want anything serious.
[13:28] Speaker 11: But I'm like, why because all of our clocks are
[13:31] Speaker 11: ticking like no one's twenty two anymore, Like we need
[13:34] Speaker 11: to all move on from the she'll figuring things out
[13:37] Speaker 11: at all? You know, I like you, but I don't
[13:38] Speaker 11: know if I'm not. I'm ready to settle down, and
[13:40] Speaker 11: it's like, if not, now when wait?
[13:43] Speaker 1: In this audition clip, which I've not seen before, I
[13:46] Speaker 1: don't think it was on the show. I think she'd
[13:47] Speaker 1: left before that point, But Mel, she now goes on
[13:50] Speaker 1: to talk about the Stocky storyline during this audition, which
[13:54] Speaker 1: she what she recently said was just a joke, like,
[13:58] Speaker 1: I'm not.
[13:58] Speaker 11: A psycho, I'm not a stalk.
[14:00] Speaker 5: Well like obviously we all have like some kind of
[14:03] Speaker 5: like psychos walker'sh tendencies, But they don't know, do you
[14:07] Speaker 5: know what I mean? They don't know that I drive
[14:09] Speaker 5: past their house at night time to check if they're
[14:11] Speaker 5: home all the time.
[14:14] Speaker 3: Are you where you say.
[14:15] Speaker 2: You are now?
[14:15] Speaker 1: The way she just told that story, that does not
[14:18] Speaker 1: sound like a joke to me, like it didn't when
[14:20] Speaker 1: she told it on TV. Right, I'm just pulling up
[14:24] Speaker 1: the statement Mel posted after she came off TV, and
[14:27] Speaker 1: she put I also want to apologize for the comments
[14:29] Speaker 1: I made about stalking. I do not think stalking is funny,
[14:32] Speaker 1: and I absolutely do not condone that behavior. I was
[14:35] Speaker 1: referring to something from when I was seventeen and joking
[14:38] Speaker 1: with friends, and it was careless of me to say it.
[14:41] Speaker 2: The way I did. I regret it.
[14:43] Speaker 1: But in the audition it doesn't sound like a joke.
[14:47] Speaker 1: Who knows, But actually I've just thought of some of
[14:50] Speaker 1: the which is quite similar. I've never told this story,
[14:52] Speaker 1: so it may be a bit unhinged, but.
[14:55] Speaker 2: Right, very similar to mel I haven't stoked the nex. No,
[14:58] Speaker 2: that's a bit weird.
[15:00] Speaker 1: But I remember when I was I think I was.
[15:02] Speaker 1: I just turned eighteen and in the UK this is
[15:05] Speaker 1: the age when like people get their first cars and
[15:07] Speaker 1: you've got that new sense of freedom. And I lived
[15:10] Speaker 1: in Manchester City Center and I was actually the only
[15:13] Speaker 1: one of my friends without a car because after doing
[15:15] Speaker 1: my lessons, my instructor said, Josh, I think you should
[15:18] Speaker 1: get a bicycle. And this was after about twenty lessons,
[15:21] Speaker 1: so that I did, but my friends had cars. And
[15:23] Speaker 1: at the time, there was this TV like documentary on ITV,
[15:28] Speaker 1: which is like our version of Channel nine, like the
[15:30] Speaker 1: big network there, and it was based on a prison
[15:33] Speaker 1: in Manchester called Strange Ways, which is like a very
[15:36] Speaker 1: famous prison in the UK, and it kind of just
[15:39] Speaker 1: shown a few inmates inside in the offices and it
[15:43] Speaker 1: was just like an insight into that prison. And there
[15:45] Speaker 1: was one guy on the sorry, I'm like, this is
[15:49] Speaker 1: so stupid.
[15:50] Speaker 2: A couple of overtil this.
[15:51] Speaker 1: This guy was like, I'm not going to say, the
[15:53] Speaker 1: star of the show because he's a criminal in jail
[15:56] Speaker 1: and it was the documentary, but he was like the
[15:58] Speaker 1: the biggest talking point and he was the most viral
[16:02] Speaker 1: and discussed because on the show he would often do
[16:06] Speaker 1: a dirty protest.
[16:09] Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I've not far about this so long. It's
[16:12] Speaker 2: been a lot of fifty years.
[16:14] Speaker 1: And basically dirty protest is where he would pot in
[16:18] Speaker 1: his cell and smear it across the walls as a
[16:23] Speaker 1: way to just piss off the officers. Honestly, you're probably think,
[16:29] Speaker 1: where is the story going? And I'm thinking about it too,
[16:32] Speaker 1: you know, I've decided to share it. But like at
[16:34] Speaker 1: the time this show, like everyone was talking about it,
[16:37] Speaker 1: and this jail was like on the edge of Manchester
[16:40] Speaker 1: City Center, which is like not far from where I lived.
[16:43] Speaker 1: And as my friends all had, you know, their first cars,
[16:46] Speaker 1: and we were.
[16:47] Speaker 2: Like where should we go? Where should we drive? We
[16:49] Speaker 2: would often.
[16:50] Speaker 1: Find ourselves like you know, we'd go to like McDonald's
[16:54] Speaker 1: and the twenty four oh seven supermarket, you know, just
[16:56] Speaker 1: like because we didn't really have anywhere to go, but
[16:58] Speaker 1: we would always end up driving circles around this jail
[17:02] Speaker 1: while shouting David's name.
[17:05] Speaker 2: Hoping he could hear us from his.
[17:07] Speaker 1: Cell like, David, David with your Dirty pro I don't
[17:12] Speaker 1: know why I'm ich hearing this?
[17:14] Speaker 2: Is that similar to mell? No, it's not really stalking.
[17:18] Speaker 2: Why did we do that?
[17:20] Speaker 1: Oh to be young again with a new car and
[17:23] Speaker 1: nowhere to go before we get back to maths, I'm
[17:28] Speaker 1: just actually googling that show. So that was twenty thirteen
[17:32] Speaker 1: and that inmate. He's now released. But back then, when
[17:35] Speaker 1: I just say, like, how viral he was. Someone set
[17:38] Speaker 1: up a Facebook page, and remember when you used to
[17:39] Speaker 1: like like all these random pages. His Dirty Protest page
[17:43] Speaker 1: has one hundred and twenty thousand people that have still like,
[17:48] Speaker 1: liked and followed it. I wonder where maybe I find
[17:51] Speaker 1: it now that's going to be a weird podcast. I
[17:52] Speaker 1: went nothing to ask him. I'm going to spend my
[17:54] Speaker 1: day and now trying to figure out what this blokes
[17:56] Speaker 1: up to these days, because he was like, again I'm
[17:58] Speaker 1: not saying a star, but in the UK, that was
[18:00] Speaker 1: such a moment in a very weird way. Moving on
[18:08] Speaker 1: back to married at First Sight, who's the next Alyssa?
[18:11] Speaker 2: Let's pull up her audition tape.
[18:13] Speaker 4: Men only want something from you these days, it's like,
[18:17] Speaker 4: I want connection. I want to be able to sit
[18:19] Speaker 4: down and have a great conversation with someone. But I
[18:21] Speaker 4: feel like a lot of the men that I seem
[18:23] Speaker 4: to choose are the men that all they kind of
[18:27] Speaker 4: want is to get in your pants. People might think that, oh,
[18:29] Speaker 4: she's just a pretty girl, she's whatever, but in person,
[18:32] Speaker 4: they're like, oh, you're just like a little bogain.
[18:35] Speaker 1: Do you find it hard at dating as a pretty girl?
[18:37] Speaker 4: Yes, one hundred percent. I feel like men can be
[18:42] Speaker 4: very intimidated by a beautiful woman, like they don't actually
[18:48] Speaker 4: know they can start, or they can get quite scared
[18:50] Speaker 4: and intimidated, and I'm just like, what, why is it
[18:54] Speaker 4: so hard?
[18:56] Speaker 1: Alyssa was then asked by the producers conducting that interview,
[18:59] Speaker 1: what is her work trait in a relationship?
[19:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, it can be stubborn one hundred percent. My mom,
[19:04] Speaker 4: she's like Alicia hartworks sometimes and I am because I'm
[19:06] Speaker 4: passionate and I believe in what I'm believe in, which
[19:10] Speaker 4: is a good thing, but it also can be not
[19:13] Speaker 4: so good in sense situations as well.
[19:15] Speaker 1: You know what I reckon? Yeah, that does check out.
[19:18] Speaker 1: She did seem quite stubborn and unreasonable. So yep, fair, Alyssa,
[19:22] Speaker 1: you passed the audition check. Next up, we've got Danny
[19:26] Speaker 1: and I forgot how cringe? His like backstory intro.
[19:32] Speaker 8: Was you can never be overdressed or over educated, and
[19:37] Speaker 8: I'm definitely not over educated, so I'm always over dressed.
[19:44] Speaker 2: That's true, though, isn't it. That's a who said that?
[19:47] Speaker 8: I think it was Oscar Wiley or something.
[19:49] Speaker 2: I'm just gonna pause that quickly.
[19:50] Speaker 1: That And I want to ask, does anyone out there
[19:53] Speaker 1: actually like Danny's fashion sense of like being overdressed and
[19:58] Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, like a guy in a.
[20:00] Speaker 2: Good suit that fits well, that is hot, Like.
[20:02] Speaker 1: I think it's fair to say it was girls and
[20:04] Speaker 1: gays that does things to all of us.
[20:07] Speaker 2: And yes, Danny does dress well, but like the.
[20:11] Speaker 1: Hats we saw on the show where it felt like
[20:14] Speaker 1: that a bit much, and like to me as a
[20:17] Speaker 1: British person, and I often get like all the stereotypes, like.
[20:20] Speaker 2: People are like, oh, do do you love cups of tea?
[20:22] Speaker 2: And the Queen? And do you wear a flat cap
[20:24] Speaker 2: like peaky blinders? Like I feel like.
[20:27] Speaker 1: When Danny got the green light he was going to
[20:29] Speaker 1: mass he feels like he was like, all right, how
[20:31] Speaker 1: do I play into every British stereotype there is, Like,
[20:35] Speaker 1: let's watch Peaky Blinders and just copy.
[20:38] Speaker 2: Everything they're wearing. And did anyone see the pictures work?
[20:41] Speaker 1: I think it was two weeks ago and out of
[20:42] Speaker 1: Danny was in Sydney with Stephen and it was like
[20:47] Speaker 1: a boiling hot Saturday afternoon, middle of the day, like lunchtime,
[20:51] Speaker 1: and he's wearing a free piece suit at a boat
[20:55] Speaker 1: party in the middle of the harbor, while everyone else
[20:58] Speaker 1: there is in like in and shorts and little dresses
[21:01] Speaker 1: and also the dress code for that and then was white.
[21:05] Speaker 2: Literally every other.
[21:06] Speaker 1: Single person there was wearing again like something just loose
[21:11] Speaker 1: and summary and breezy because it was a hot day,
[21:13] Speaker 1: and yes, everyone was wearing white. And then in the
[21:16] Speaker 1: pictures you've got Danny in a brown free piece suit
[21:20] Speaker 1: just looking like the most out of place person in
[21:23] Speaker 1: the world. And yeah, like, I get it's nice to
[21:26] Speaker 1: dress up, but mate, come on, choose the occasion. And
[21:29] Speaker 1: I know I'm not want to comment on anyone's fashion
[21:32] Speaker 1: since I wear shots and already every single day of
[21:35] Speaker 1: my life unless I have to physically put trousers on,
[21:38] Speaker 1: which kills me. But come on, Danny, mate, time and
[21:42] Speaker 1: a place anyway, ran over back to his intro.
[21:47] Speaker 8: I'm Danny, I'm thirty four and I'm my real estate
[21:49] Speaker 8: Asian and businessman from London. I've been living in Australia
[21:53] Speaker 8: the last twelve years.
[21:55] Speaker 2: I was a cheeky kid. Yeah no, I'm still cheeking
[21:59] Speaker 2: out to news fairing.
[22:00] Speaker 8: I've been described as a geezer, but I wouldn't walk
[22:03] Speaker 8: around describing.
[22:04] Speaker 11: Myself Instagram and will standing gezer, isn't it.
[22:13] Speaker 1: I don't know, you know what we should have all
[22:17] Speaker 1: known from that moment that he was going to be
[22:19] Speaker 1: a bit of a player, and then the subjective players
[22:23] Speaker 1: and just men I don't particularly enjoy. Remember Chris, original Chris,
[22:28] Speaker 1: not the gay intruder Chris, And in his audition tape,
[22:31] Speaker 1: which was actually a big storyline on the show. You know,
[22:33] Speaker 1: we obviously had that moment where he was just saying,
[22:36] Speaker 1: I don't want to bride you wears fake tan or
[22:38] Speaker 1: makeup or overweight and just all that shit, like, yeah,
[22:41] Speaker 1: we already knew he was going to be a flop,
[22:43] Speaker 1: but there was one moment which I don't recall being
[22:47] Speaker 1: on the show or seeing anyone talking about and listen to.
[22:50] Speaker 13: This say I have an interest in a girl, it's
[22:52] Speaker 13: always it's always have been from like a sexual sexual
[22:56] Speaker 13: sort of nature intent, and then once that sort of
[22:59] Speaker 13: goes away, I don't really there's not there's not really
[23:01] Speaker 13: any interest to then keep that connection. A brother who's
[23:06] Speaker 13: a computer like mouth just can't shut up. I don't
[23:11] Speaker 13: care if she's talking too much. It's just the she
[23:14] Speaker 13: that comes.
[23:14] Speaker 7: Out of her mouth.
[23:15] Speaker 13: He's just always like she knows, she knows what's.
[23:18] Speaker 7: Best your whole worlds.
[23:23] Speaker 4: The's a lot of bloke.
[23:27] Speaker 13: Basically, Yeah, obnoxious, caked on makeup, the fake tan aspect,
[23:33] Speaker 13: because I feel like that just summarized the person completely.
[23:36] Speaker 13: When you say them rocking out, we're just caked on
[23:39] Speaker 13: little pink.
[23:39] Speaker 2: Cheeks so that the warring hands.
[23:41] Speaker 1: It's terrible, Like why would you firstly talk about your
[23:45] Speaker 1: sister in law like that? Like that's family, that's your
[23:47] Speaker 1: brother's wife. They may have kids. You know, that's the
[23:50] Speaker 1: mother or maybe the mother of your nieces or nephew's Like,
[23:53] Speaker 1: why would you do that, let alone talk about like
[23:55] Speaker 1: that when you're being filmed for part of a TV show.
[23:58] Speaker 1: And whether he knew that was going to be used
[24:01] Speaker 1: or not, because you know it was the audition, Like,
[24:03] Speaker 1: come on over to Stephen now, the other Stephen, Rachel's
[24:08] Speaker 1: former Stephen, the alleged finger banger.
[24:11] Speaker 12: I've been officially, like properly single for it leaves. We'll
[24:15] Speaker 12: call it ten to twelve years. So I've been dating
[24:19] Speaker 12: on and off since then, and nothing is really stuck.
[24:22] Speaker 12: As time goes on and find and the dating world
[24:25] Speaker 12: is changing a lot now with the apps and how
[24:29] Speaker 12: you're going to present yourself to people. There's no compromises
[24:32] Speaker 12: at all with the dating world. It's you've got to
[24:36] Speaker 12: be prince charming or nothing.
[24:38] Speaker 1: Oh, you've just got to be willing to make time
[24:41] Speaker 1: for them, mate, like once you actually do find someone interested,
[24:44] Speaker 1: which you didn't. That's actually all I've got for you today,
[24:47] Speaker 1: because not everyone's audition tapes are out there. I don't
[24:51] Speaker 1: know why they pick and choose which ones they put
[24:52] Speaker 1: on the channel and our website. But what have we
[24:55] Speaker 1: learned from this? Mostly the signs were there from the
[24:57] Speaker 1: start for most of them. Secondly, I apparently had too
[25:01] Speaker 1: much time as a seventeen eighteen year old with my friends.
[25:06] Speaker 2: Please again, please don't judge me for that story. We
[25:08] Speaker 2: were all young and silly at one point. But yeah
[25:12] Speaker 2: again in Better News.
[25:13] Speaker 1: First episode of my new podcast, Occasionally Funny, as I said,
[25:16] Speaker 1: is dropping on Friday, and I promise you it will.
[25:20] Speaker 2: Be occasionally funny.
[25:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, and again it's going to feature someone I know
[25:25] Speaker 1: you are wanting to hear from again or wanting to
[25:28] Speaker 1: hear me talking to again, So click the link in
[25:32] Speaker 1: the show notes to subscribe ready, or just search it
[25:34] Speaker 1: up on Friday.
[25:36] Speaker 2: And yeah, thank you for listening this far.
[25:38] Speaker 1: In this one, it's got This was a lot longer
[25:40] Speaker 1: than a fart, but it's been a few days since
[25:43] Speaker 1: it was behind the mic.
[25:44] Speaker 2: Felt like I had a lot to say say yuah,
