[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to the Mathsphony podcast, and welcome
[0:03] Speaker 1: to an episode full of many little random updates from
[0:07] Speaker 1: within the married at First Sight world. And to kick
[0:10] Speaker 1: things off, what the hell is happening with Beck who
[0:14] Speaker 1: is very much still in Bali Because people are concerned,
[0:19] Speaker 1: people are confused, and people now think there were some
[0:22] Speaker 1: complications with her rib recontouring surgery, which is why she's
[0:26] Speaker 1: suddenly gone silent, and I can tell you there wasn't
[0:30] Speaker 1: because she never actually got the surgery done. And for
[0:35] Speaker 1: anyone behind on this little story, here is the quickest
[0:38] Speaker 1: recap to get you up to date before the actual update.
[0:42] Speaker 2: And it all started with me.
[0:43] Speaker 1: In Bali, as you all know where, I went to
[0:45] Speaker 1: document Beck getting this rib contouring surgery, which she was
[0:49] Speaker 1: so adamant on getting your body.
[0:52] Speaker 3: Your choice, what you feel confident with, in what you
[0:54] Speaker 3: feel comfortable with, fucking do it. So why are all
[0:57] Speaker 3: these Karens coming at me?
[1:00] Speaker 2: Me get my ribs done?
[1:01] Speaker 1: But then two days after we recorded that, after like
[1:04] Speaker 1: chatting a lot more and Beck thinking and seeing the
[1:06] Speaker 1: stuff online, she then backed out of the big procedure
[1:09] Speaker 1: on the actual day, so you didn't get the surgery done.
[1:14] Speaker 4: I'm not ready yet. I don't know if I will
[1:16] Speaker 4: be ready.
[1:17] Speaker 3: I don't know if I'm going to go ahead and
[1:18] Speaker 3: get it done. Like I said, I've got giving myself
[1:20] Speaker 3: an extra week.
[1:21] Speaker 1: I then came back to Australia that stayed in Balley
[1:24] Speaker 1: to think about her decision, and then she decided, Nah,
[1:26] Speaker 1: I'm actually going to do it.
[1:28] Speaker 4: I have thought about this long and hard.
[1:30] Speaker 3: I've thought about whether this procedure is something I want,
[1:34] Speaker 3: and I've decided that I do. And so I will
[1:38] Speaker 3: be going ahead with the procedure of rip controing.
[1:40] Speaker 1: And not only did she post that video you just
[1:42] Speaker 1: said a clip from saying I'm going to get it done,
[1:44] Speaker 1: but she also ended that video saying this.
[1:47] Speaker 3: It's Monday morning, and I'll be on socials immediately after
[1:51] Speaker 3: letting you know how it's gone and you know my
[1:55] Speaker 3: recovery after that.
[1:56] Speaker 1: So but then Beck's surgery day came and when and
[2:01] Speaker 1: there was no update and it was just silence on
[2:05] Speaker 1: her socials and then days went past without a single update,
[2:09] Speaker 1: and that's when people started to become concerned. And Beck
[2:12] Speaker 1: then released a statement saying thank you to everyone who
[2:16] Speaker 1: has reached out with messages of kindness, love and concern
[2:18] Speaker 1: for me. Your support truly means more than you know.
[2:21] Speaker 1: I want to reassure everyone that I am okay. I've
[2:24] Speaker 1: chosen always to be transparent with you all, and that
[2:27] Speaker 1: will never change. I assure you I will share an
[2:30] Speaker 1: update soon. For this short period of time, I'm respectfully
[2:34] Speaker 1: asking for a little privacy. Thank you all for your understanding,
[2:38] Speaker 1: your patience, and for continuing to support me. So that
[2:43] Speaker 1: post then confused even more people, including myself back in
[2:46] Speaker 1: Australia when I read it along with everyone else, and
[2:48] Speaker 1: it also confused the girls on the Outspoken podcast who
[2:52] Speaker 1: had this to say.
[2:53] Speaker 5: And I wouldn't be surprised if this was all a
[2:56] Speaker 5: ploy for pr from Beck. I mean, she's been very
[2:59] Speaker 5: good at maintaining attention off the back of maths, because
[3:02] Speaker 5: now that she's had the surgery, she's actually disappeared offline
[3:06] Speaker 5: despite saying that she was going to be transparent about
[3:09] Speaker 5: what happened with the surgery. You're on this all expenses
[3:12] Speaker 5: paid trip from the brand, and now suddenly you're silent
[3:15] Speaker 5: for two days. I mean my first thought was has
[3:17] Speaker 5: something gone wrong with the surgery?
[3:19] Speaker 6: That's what she wants everyone to think. Because she wants
[3:21] Speaker 6: everyone to go in and keep checking in on her page,
[3:24] Speaker 6: keep engaging with her content.
[3:25] Speaker 1: Then the outspoken girls even started speculating that I was
[3:29] Speaker 1: part of some big, master planned strategy to keep the
[3:33] Speaker 1: speculation and the suspense, which I can tell you is
[3:36] Speaker 1: not true and I have been just as confused as
[3:39] Speaker 1: everybody else.
[3:40] Speaker 6: Not only is it good pr for Beck, it's also
[3:43] Speaker 6: fantastic pr and engagement for Josh Fox's podcast because he
[3:48] Speaker 6: now has an opportunity to eventually interview her again. It
[3:52] Speaker 6: added an element of drama to his podcast at the
[3:54] Speaker 6: end of the series that he needed, and then it
[3:56] Speaker 6: also got the media writing about the fact that she'd.
[4:00] Speaker 1: Now to get to the actual update. Beck and I
[4:03] Speaker 1: have very briefly texted like over the last week. She's
[4:06] Speaker 1: told me that she's all good. I know from like
[4:09] Speaker 1: other people who were there on this trip that Beck
[4:12] Speaker 1: didn't get the surgery after that last video. I haven't
[4:15] Speaker 1: really pushed her on the why because she hasn't wanted
[4:19] Speaker 1: to talk about that yet or what happened. Why she's
[4:22] Speaker 1: delayed it again, I don't know, And like me, being
[4:25] Speaker 1: back here in Australia hasn't really felt like my place
[4:28] Speaker 1: to push her on that, but I did wake up
[4:31] Speaker 1: to this voice message from Beck.
[4:33] Speaker 2: Hey, Josh, I hope you're good.
[4:35] Speaker 3: I just want to touch base and let you know
[4:37] Speaker 3: that I am. I'm fine. I'm taking little social media break,
[4:42] Speaker 3: you know. I want to let everyone know what's going on,
[4:44] Speaker 3: and I will be not long now. And yeah, thanks
[4:50] Speaker 3: for checking in, and thank you to everyone for the support.
[4:54] Speaker 3: Speak to you all soon, guys.
[4:56] Speaker 1: And along with that voice message, Beck did say that
[4:58] Speaker 1: she has been enjoying like a bit of peace away
[5:02] Speaker 1: from socials and commentary, and again she reassured me she's good,
[5:06] Speaker 1: and she'll do a post or a statement or a
[5:08] Speaker 1: video or something like in the next few days or
[5:11] Speaker 1: this week, kind of saying what's happened or why she
[5:15] Speaker 1: changed the mind again or why she delayed it, or
[5:17] Speaker 1: whatever the story is, because I'm here commentating and I
[5:21] Speaker 1: don't even know myself, which is funny because I was,
[5:24] Speaker 1: I was part of this from the start, and then
[5:26] Speaker 1: I was like, now I'm going home, and now yeah,
[5:28] Speaker 1: I'm kind of just waiting along with you, and you
[5:30] Speaker 1: know what, But what I will say is I get
[5:32] Speaker 1: the people now, being like this all feels like it's
[5:35] Speaker 1: for pr like, and if I wasn't oddly part of
[5:37] Speaker 1: this story at the start and being there at this
[5:40] Speaker 1: point in time now with like all of the silence
[5:43] Speaker 1: and the mystery, I would one hundred percent beyond this
[5:46] Speaker 1: podcast going Okay, this all does feel a bit sus now,
[5:50] Speaker 1: but what I want to offer here is like some
[5:53] Speaker 1: wider perspective on the whole thing, And like, at this
[5:57] Speaker 1: point in time, right three months since married at first ended,
[6:01] Speaker 1: Beck and most of the cast are in this like
[6:03] Speaker 1: weird phase of their life and weird headspace of like
[6:07] Speaker 1: navigating returning back to their real normal lives, but also
[6:12] Speaker 1: realizing their real lives now come with people recognizing them
[6:16] Speaker 1: basically every time they leave the house, and you know,
[6:19] Speaker 1: their real life now has media outlets writing things about
[6:22] Speaker 1: them most days, which often isn't true. And you know
[6:25] Speaker 1: they've now got these big audiences often like hundreds of
[6:29] Speaker 1: thousands of people at their fingertips on their phones, and
[6:32] Speaker 1: those hundreds of thousands of people every day all have
[6:36] Speaker 1: opinions about who they are, what they do, every decision
[6:39] Speaker 1: they make, and you know people will listen to me
[6:42] Speaker 1: saying that and they'll be like, but they're no one's
[6:44] Speaker 1: they're not famous, which I mean is true because they
[6:48] Speaker 1: are just regular people. But there are also now regular people.
[6:51] Speaker 1: Millions of people think they know to an extent, and
[6:55] Speaker 1: I'll have those opinions on and then you get someone
[6:58] Speaker 1: like Beck, who I'm going to use as the little
[7:01] Speaker 1: case study here.
[7:02] Speaker 2: And I saw.
[7:03] Speaker 1: How often she was getting stopped for selfies, like every
[7:05] Speaker 1: time she left the result in Bali, and people would
[7:09] Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, I love you, Beck, you iconic.
[7:11] Speaker 1: Can we get a picture? And often, like the drunker
[7:15] Speaker 1: people were. The later it was like, the more this happened,
[7:17] Speaker 1: because people like lose their inhibitions a little bit. And
[7:21] Speaker 1: what Beck maybe didn't see is that, like often she
[7:24] Speaker 1: would walk away from those groups of people. And I
[7:28] Speaker 1: always stand back and I just watch these things from
[7:30] Speaker 1: Afar because I find it kind of fascinating. And often
[7:33] Speaker 1: those groups of people, which is kind of sad to say,
[7:37] Speaker 1: but they then kind of laugh once Beck walks away.
[7:41] Speaker 1: And this isn't just about Beck. I've seen this for
[7:43] Speaker 1: years with people from these shows. You know, people like,
[7:45] Speaker 1: oh my god, I love you, and then the celebrity
[7:49] Speaker 1: or the reality person walks away. Then they're like, oh
[7:51] Speaker 1: my god, she thinks she's so famous, oh my god.
[7:53] Speaker 1: And you know, these people often only want to take
[7:55] Speaker 1: a picture to then post to their Instagram to like
[7:59] Speaker 1: laugh at with their friends, and you know that's not ever.
[8:02] Speaker 1: And some people genuinely come up work, coming up to
[8:05] Speaker 1: Beck being like, oh my god, I thought you were this,
[8:06] Speaker 1: I thought you were that, but you've actually seen this,
[8:09] Speaker 1: And they had a lot of nice things to say.
[8:11] Speaker 2: But not everyone is like that. So when I talk
[8:14] Speaker 2: about like this headspace of.
[8:16] Speaker 1: These people being and it's like they don't quite know
[8:19] Speaker 1: what's real, what's not, how to proceed, what to do.
[8:22] Speaker 1: And you know, remember Beck also lost her job because
[8:26] Speaker 1: of this show, and she is now struggling to get
[8:28] Speaker 1: a normal, regular job because she's too recognizable at this
[8:32] Speaker 1: point in time. But then on the other side, she's
[8:36] Speaker 1: now realized, well, I can make an income through my
[8:39] Speaker 1: social media and that's kind of the only income I
[8:41] Speaker 1: now have available. But then on her social media, half
[8:44] Speaker 1: the people are following just to constantly say, you're not
[8:48] Speaker 1: a celebrity, you're not an influencer. Go get a regular job.
[8:51] Speaker 1: But she can't get a regular job. And then again
[8:55] Speaker 1: with Beck, every day she goes online comments and articles,
[8:58] Speaker 1: comments on pages, comments on her page being like, fix.
[9:02] Speaker 2: Your whatever, go change this, you're this, you're ugly.
[9:05] Speaker 1: Blub like just picking apart every part of her body,
[9:08] Speaker 1: and then you know, Beck suddenly goes, well, okay, i
[9:11] Speaker 1: am gonna change a part of my body because I've
[9:13] Speaker 1: been offered this rip thing. And then she's like, I'm
[9:15] Speaker 1: doing it. And that's why to me, at the start,
[9:17] Speaker 1: she's so defiant, like go where you Karen's I'm gonna
[9:21] Speaker 1: get my ribs done or whatever that quote was, and
[9:23] Speaker 1: to me, that's like hitting back at everyone like I'm
[9:25] Speaker 1: seeing what you're saying on fuck you, I'm gonna do it.
[9:27] Speaker 2: But then suddenly the response.
[9:29] Speaker 1: To that is everyone now saying, oh my god, you
[9:31] Speaker 1: too insecure, Oh my god, how dare you promote this
[9:34] Speaker 1: to young people? Oh my god, you're a terrible example.
[9:36] Speaker 1: You're the worst role model, and like that must be
[9:39] Speaker 1: such a head fuck for anybody to navigate. And each season,
[9:45] Speaker 1: every cast member has this to an extent, but it's
[9:47] Speaker 1: usually like the most controversial ones or the prolific ones
[9:50] Speaker 1: who have it at this scale, and this year it's
[9:55] Speaker 1: pretty much just Beck and Jea who warrant like such
[10:00] Speaker 1: a big and strong reaction for people. But the difference
[10:04] Speaker 1: between Beck and Ga now is Gia is, in my opinion,
[10:09] Speaker 1: a lot more grounded with her life, Like she has
[10:12] Speaker 1: her daughter full time, she has her boyfriend living with her,
[10:16] Speaker 1: her mum I think lives with them.
[10:18] Speaker 2: More is nearby.
[10:19] Speaker 1: And Gia and her boyfriend they are flipping a property
[10:22] Speaker 1: at the minute, which means like every day they're you know,
[10:25] Speaker 1: doing the school and then they're working, they're in Bunnings,
[10:28] Speaker 1: They're doing all these really really normal, regular people things.
[10:32] Speaker 1: And I haven't really seen Gia at many events like
[10:36] Speaker 1: Beck has been. You know, like Beck's more immersing herself
[10:40] Speaker 1: in this new world of influencers and premiers and all that,
[10:43] Speaker 1: which I mean, you know, she's being offered stuff, why
[10:45] Speaker 1: wouldn't you, But to compare to Jia, her life just
[10:49] Speaker 1: seems like super normal, which means it would be harder
[10:55] Speaker 1: for her to get caught up in the headfuck of
[10:57] Speaker 1: this post show period of being like famous but not
[11:02] Speaker 1: really famous, but then being super known but not super liked,
[11:07] Speaker 1: whereas yeah, Beck just doesn't have all those things kind
[11:10] Speaker 1: of anchoring her and grounding her. And you know, then
[11:13] Speaker 1: when you get podcasts like outspoken with their theories again.
[11:17] Speaker 5: Like this, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was
[11:20] Speaker 5: all a ploy for PR from Beck. I mean, she's
[11:22] Speaker 5: been very good at maintaining attention off the back of maths.
[11:26] Speaker 1: I get it because from the outside it one hundred
[11:28] Speaker 1: percent now looks like some big PR master plan. But
[11:32] Speaker 1: and I said this to the outspoken goes when I
[11:34] Speaker 1: messages them on the weekend, And this isn't like shade
[11:36] Speaker 1: at them, because they actually like them on their podcast
[11:38] Speaker 1: and what they do. But people like Beck, and I
[11:41] Speaker 1: said this politely, they are just not clever enough to
[11:44] Speaker 1: have planned all of this like how it's rolled out
[11:48] Speaker 1: to get maximum attention, because they've been in the industry
[11:51] Speaker 1: for literal two minutes and they don't have teams with them,
[11:55] Speaker 1: they don't have people guiding them and advising them, and
[11:57] Speaker 1: they don't quite understand how it all works, like I do.
[12:01] Speaker 1: You know, I've been working in this industry for over
[12:03] Speaker 1: ten years, and you know, similar the outspoken girls, they've
[12:06] Speaker 1: been working in this for years. And even Dom, who
[12:08] Speaker 1: I spoke about in my last podcast when I said
[12:10] Speaker 1: her accusing Beck of doing all this for PR felt
[12:14] Speaker 1: inappropriate because Dom has been where Beck has dom has
[12:18] Speaker 1: like been in that initial post show headfuck phase. And yeah,
[12:24] Speaker 1: my last point now, because this is dragging gone, the
[12:26] Speaker 1: boomeranging from one extreme to another like Beck has done
[12:29] Speaker 1: on this journey with the surgery and in BALI is
[12:32] Speaker 1: confusing to follow and comprehend, sure, because we take it
[12:35] Speaker 1: at kind of surface level thinking these are decisions being
[12:40] Speaker 1: made like we would make decisions in our lives. But
[12:44] Speaker 1: you've got to remember, like her life at this point
[12:46] Speaker 1: of time is just a constant extreme that most of
[12:50] Speaker 1: us will never experience, and she's trying to navigate that
[12:53] Speaker 1: in real time while you know, being defiant and hitting
[12:57] Speaker 1: back but then taking a moment ago, is this really
[12:59] Speaker 1: what I And she's doing this while millions of people
[13:02] Speaker 1: are watching. It often feels like this part is just
[13:08] Speaker 1: like a medi defending Beck, which is not true in
[13:10] Speaker 1: the slightest says, you know, I've called her out on
[13:12] Speaker 1: many things, especially behavior on the show. But the thing
[13:15] Speaker 1: I find fascinating about Beck is once you kind of
[13:18] Speaker 1: see beyond the drama and her doing dumb stuff, like
[13:23] Speaker 1: there is this real person who is quite vulnerable and
[13:27] Speaker 1: in my opinion, has insecurities and like commentating a show
[13:32] Speaker 1: like this, she is like, this sounds weird to say,
[13:35] Speaker 1: but this great case study of the psychological impact. And
[13:39] Speaker 1: maybe that's why I have felt more protective towards Beck
[13:43] Speaker 1: and wanting to try and guide her and help her
[13:45] Speaker 1: in in BALI like, you know, I went there to
[13:48] Speaker 1: document what was happening, but I did feel like I
[13:51] Speaker 1: maybe stepped a little too far with me constantly being like,
[13:54] Speaker 1: don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. And
[13:55] Speaker 1: that's because again I felt like this weird responsibility because yeah,
[14:01] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[14:02] Speaker 2: Moving on.
[14:05] Speaker 1: In some more exciting news, now, Sammy has a new boyfriend.
[14:12] Speaker 1: I know, Sammy's new Boyfriend's not me, for those still
[14:15] Speaker 1: clinging onto that theory, no matter how many times Sam
[14:18] Speaker 1: and I have said we're just friends. But over the weekend,
[14:21] Speaker 1: some of you may have seen that Sam shared a
[14:23] Speaker 1: little Instagram reel on Saturday, essentially backflipping his new man
[14:27] Speaker 1: into a river while literally hard launching their new relationship.
[14:35] Speaker 4: That just hard launched my boyfriend.
[14:38] Speaker 1: Sam didn't share any more information on like how they met,
[14:41] Speaker 1: how long they've been together, and all that cute stuff
[14:43] Speaker 1: that people want to know, which I'm sure he will
[14:46] Speaker 1: get around to doing like if only he had his
[14:49] Speaker 1: own like podcasts where he could talk about things like
[14:51] Speaker 1: that a little more in depth with Now. Okay, so
[14:53] Speaker 1: I want to clear some things up here. There's been
[14:55] Speaker 1: some confusion about my other podcast, which a lot of
[14:58] Speaker 1: you noticed. I stopped merging into this feed like maybe
[15:01] Speaker 1: five weeks ago now, and I haven't mentioned at all
[15:05] Speaker 1: on this podcast since then. And you know what, when
[15:09] Speaker 1: I first had that idea for that podcast, like to
[15:11] Speaker 1: do something new away from Maths Funny, I didn't know
[15:14] Speaker 1: where it was going to go or what it even
[15:16] Speaker 1: would be, which is why, like I had different people
[15:19] Speaker 1: auditioning to be the co host at the start, and
[15:21] Speaker 1: it was more I work it out as I go
[15:24] Speaker 1: kind of thing, because I was just passionate about podcasting
[15:27] Speaker 1: again and Maths was coming to an end, and I
[15:29] Speaker 1: was like, shit, I want to keep doing something at
[15:31] Speaker 1: least weekly, and there's not going to be Maths stuff
[15:33] Speaker 1: to talk about, so let me start something new and
[15:35] Speaker 1: again figure it out. And fairly quickly on that little journey,
[15:39] Speaker 1: I didn't just find my perfect podcast co host, but
[15:43] Speaker 1: I also found a friend, and I realized if I
[15:47] Speaker 1: kept merging the feeds of that pod into this pod
[15:50] Speaker 1: and like cross promoting, it would get confusing because people
[15:55] Speaker 1: would think it was like part of Maths Funny or
[15:58] Speaker 1: connected to Maths Funny where And I don't know if.
[16:01] Speaker 2: This sounds weird.
[16:02] Speaker 1: I don't want it to be associated with this podcast
[16:05] Speaker 1: in like any way because it literally has zero to
[16:07] Speaker 1: do with reality television or the show or the drama
[16:11] Speaker 1: of that world like that. We don't speak about that
[16:14] Speaker 1: at all. It's nothing to do with that. And to me,
[16:17] Speaker 1: the new part is something that's more wholesome. While yes
[16:21] Speaker 1: it's still silly and dumb and funny, but it's also
[16:23] Speaker 1: a place to be more vulnerable and where I can
[16:26] Speaker 1: share like more personal things and stories and episodes that
[16:30] Speaker 1: would just make zero sense merged into this Maths Funny
[16:33] Speaker 1: feed any longer.
[16:35] Speaker 2: And to give you more of an idea of the
[16:36] Speaker 2: content of that, like.
[16:37] Speaker 1: Last week, I did two episodes I've wanted to do
[16:40] Speaker 1: for a long time, actually talking about the insecurities that
[16:44] Speaker 1: I and I suppose a lot of us face with
[16:46] Speaker 1: aging and why I've struggled to accept my age with
[16:49] Speaker 1: where I am at this stage in my life and
[16:52] Speaker 1: comparing myself to others. And I also opened up about
[16:55] Speaker 1: an age gap relationship of my own, which I was
[16:58] Speaker 1: actually very nervous to do, to be honest. And there's
[17:02] Speaker 1: a bonus episode coming up with my mum I Think
[17:05] Speaker 1: this Weekend, which I recorded while she was in Sydney recently,
[17:08] Speaker 1: that is actually quite emotional. And in the episode, we
[17:11] Speaker 1: went through a list of questions people say you should
[17:13] Speaker 1: ask a parent if you're still lucky enough to have
[17:16] Speaker 1: them around, because these are the things you will regret
[17:19] Speaker 1: not asking one day when it's too late, And like, yeah, God,
[17:23] Speaker 1: that episode that became quite emotional. If this was our
[17:27] Speaker 1: last ever conversation, what would you want to say?
[17:31] Speaker 2: I love you all the world.
[17:35] Speaker 7: No, I'm so proud of you.
[17:38] Speaker 2: That is, look at what you've achieved in life.
[17:45] Speaker 1: Wow, I don't think you realize just how special you
[17:49] Speaker 1: are now.
[17:51] Speaker 2: I get emotional. Got these questions for more than that.
[17:59] Speaker 1: So yeah, those who have been confused about that part
[18:02] Speaker 1: and this part, the new podcast is still going strong.
[18:05] Speaker 2: It's something we're proud of.
[18:06] Speaker 1: It's something that's already helping a lot of young gay
[18:09] Speaker 1: people which we're proud of. And it's nothing to do
[18:11] Speaker 1: with reality television show drama or anything like that, which again,
[18:16] Speaker 1: is why the feeds are not being merged. But that
[18:18] Speaker 1: does mean if you want to listen, you will have
[18:19] Speaker 1: to actively search occasionally Funny on whatever podcast app you
[18:23] Speaker 1: use and subscribe to it within the app as like
[18:27] Speaker 1: a whole new show. Moving on now though, Ree and
[18:32] Speaker 1: Jeff and the big breakup of the year, what actually
[18:34] Speaker 1: happened between them? Who knows? And well who cares? Because
[18:37] Speaker 1: not only have we moved on, but Ree has too.
[18:41] Speaker 1: And no, she didn't have a new boyfriend, which that
[18:43] Speaker 1: sounds like, but Re did share a video the other
[18:45] Speaker 1: day that I watched and afterwards I just went like, fuck,
[18:50] Speaker 1: what a woman like? Just take a listen to this
[18:52] Speaker 1: and I'm going to play the whole thing actually out
[18:54] Speaker 1: in full, So this is three minutes.
[18:56] Speaker 7: I'm going to take you through some things that I
[18:58] Speaker 7: did not expect to be doing at this age. The
[19:00] Speaker 7: first thing that comes to mind is considering a housemate.
[19:03] Speaker 7: Rent with two people is expensive, let alone one, and
[19:07] Speaker 7: I just paid four hundred dollars for the month of rent. Yeah,
[19:13] Speaker 7: explaining your entire life to strangers on the internet.
[19:16] Speaker 4: Guys are very smart and.
[19:18] Speaker 7: Can pick up when things aren't right and we grieved
[19:21] Speaker 7: or I grieved the relationship quite a long time before
[19:24] Speaker 7: I came out on social media. When I think about
[19:27] Speaker 7: quite a lot is not knowing when kids fits into
[19:30] Speaker 7: the picture anymore, as everyone is pretty aware. I was
[19:33] Speaker 7: talking about preparing my body for a baby.
[19:36] Speaker 4: Ooh, and what have I done here?
[19:40] Speaker 7: And now that the plan has changed, it is a
[19:47] Speaker 7: bit daunting not knowing when I'm actually going to be
[19:49] Speaker 7: having children.
[19:50] Speaker 4: I have a history of endometriosis.
[19:52] Speaker 7: I think it's one of those things that you're not
[19:54] Speaker 7: really going to know until you start trying.
[19:57] Speaker 4: I'm actually considering freezing my eggs, and I.
[20:01] Speaker 7: Keep arming and hoering about it, and I think I'm
[20:05] Speaker 7: going to decide over the.
[20:06] Speaker 4: Next few months.
[20:08] Speaker 7: Learning that peace can feel really unfamiliar at first, because
[20:13] Speaker 7: when you make big decisions it feels so uncomfortable. You
[20:16] Speaker 7: instantly start questioning if you have made the right choice,
[20:21] Speaker 7: and doubt yourself over and over again, budding from scratch
[20:25] Speaker 7: without actually starting from scratch. When something big happens in
[20:29] Speaker 7: your life, it's very easy to dramatize things.
[20:31] Speaker 4: I have to start again, like right back to the start.
[20:34] Speaker 4: But you're not right back to the start.
[20:37] Speaker 7: Because you have learnt so many new things of what
[20:40] Speaker 7: you will accept in a relationship what you won't accept,
[20:45] Speaker 7: And I think that you have better luck actually finding
[20:48] Speaker 7: your person once you have learnt these new things about yourself,
[20:53] Speaker 7: realizing the life that I pictured isn't the only one
[20:58] Speaker 7: that's going to make me happy, because life throws so
[21:00] Speaker 7: many curve balls at you, and it's never going to
[21:04] Speaker 7: be exactly how you planned, and just because it's not
[21:07] Speaker 7: going to plan doesn't.
[21:09] Speaker 4: Mean that you won't be happy if that plan changes.
[21:11] Speaker 7: I think I've just reminded myself that that's life, and
[21:16] Speaker 7: there's going to be so many more times in life
[21:18] Speaker 7: where things don't go to plan, and I'm going to
[21:21] Speaker 7: have to deal with it, laughing at things that I
[21:24] Speaker 7: never thought I would be laughing at a few weeks ago.
[21:27] Speaker 4: The rent is a great example. When I looked at.
[21:30] Speaker 7: How much the rent was on my own, I'm like,
[21:32] Speaker 7: oh my gosh, how am I going to do this?
[21:35] Speaker 7: But I've really tightened my belt and I'm trying to
[21:38] Speaker 7: make things work for the time being. Another thing would
[21:41] Speaker 7: be that every time something breaks or stops working, it's
[21:44] Speaker 7: my responsibility to fix it, and that's stressful.
[21:47] Speaker 4: Yeah, got to put my big girl pants.
[21:49] Speaker 7: I'm sure more will come to mind, but at the moment,
[21:53] Speaker 7: there are the things I've been noticing lately.
[21:55] Speaker 1: The fact that Ree is already there, like in that
[21:57] Speaker 1: headspace with these realizations is wild to me, but so
[22:02] Speaker 1: good for her.
[22:02] Speaker 2: And it took me years after my.
[22:05] Speaker 1: Biggest break up, my marriage, to realize all of these things.
[22:10] Speaker 1: And you know, it took me several dangerous spirals into
[22:14] Speaker 1: depression and a long time sleeping with endless people to
[22:17] Speaker 1: try and combat the loneliness I was drowning in and
[22:20] Speaker 1: trying to use those strangers I was sleeping with for
[22:23] Speaker 1: some kind of validation while pushing away my actual friends
[22:25] Speaker 1: and family, and my weight spiraled and everything fell apart.
[22:29] Speaker 1: And again, it took me years to get to this
[22:32] Speaker 1: place that really seems to be at within a couple
[22:35] Speaker 1: of months. So yeah, when I say what a woman,
[22:38] Speaker 1: That's what I mean. And now to end this episode
[22:42] Speaker 1: with a little drama, JEA a few people lately, and
[22:47] Speaker 1: by a few, I mean literally three people have been
[22:50] Speaker 1: asking like, what's to go with all the post show
[22:52] Speaker 1: friend groups, Like Gia had a little squad and now
[22:55] Speaker 1: they're not really ever seen together. And at a fashion
[22:59] Speaker 1: event on Friday, Gia was asked on the microphone by
[23:02] Speaker 1: the MC, who she is still friends with from her season,
[23:05] Speaker 1: and she responded by saying, just Juliet, and I did
[23:09] Speaker 1: have the.
[23:10] Speaker 2: Audio, but I can't find it, so you have to
[23:11] Speaker 2: take my word for that.
[23:12] Speaker 1: And then after that, Jia did a post on Instagram
[23:15] Speaker 1: with Juliet and she's saying like how much she loves
[23:17] Speaker 1: her and she's grateful for her in her life, which
[23:19] Speaker 1: to me is so funny because remember a month ago,
[23:22] Speaker 1: this was Gia's response when asked about Juliet in a
[23:25] Speaker 1: random video she was doing for a makeup brand.
[23:28] Speaker 2: Are you friends with Juliet.
[23:30] Speaker 7: That?
[23:32] Speaker 1: What is the most ankins memory from maths. The main
[23:36] Speaker 1: reason I'm mentioning this little bit of drama is because,
[23:38] Speaker 1: as many of you have suspected lately Jia and her
[23:42] Speaker 1: bestie Chris and no more despite them getting matching tattoos
[23:46] Speaker 1: earlier this year, which you know most of us fought
[23:48] Speaker 1: was a terrible idea at the time, and now we
[23:51] Speaker 1: can say told you so. And what's even funnier is
[23:54] Speaker 1: that Chris as already replaced Jia as his female bestie
[23:59] Speaker 1: from the show with the Lovely Rachel and Lately as
[24:02] Speaker 1: you've probably seen, like Chris and Rachel have been hanging
[24:05] Speaker 1: out heaps and doing lots of content together, and yeah,
[24:09] Speaker 1: what happened between Gia and Chris for him to essentially
[24:12] Speaker 1: replace her like that?
[24:13] Speaker 2: Who knows?
[24:14] Speaker 1: And again, well, let's be honest, I personally don't even
[24:17] Speaker 1: care at this point.
[24:19] Speaker 2: The you why am I talking about this.
[24:22] Speaker 1: One thing I will say on GEO though, to end
[24:24] Speaker 1: this episode, is that she has proved all of us
[24:27] Speaker 1: wrong because we all thought this new relationship with her
[24:30] Speaker 1: new guy whose name I forgot. He was on that
[24:35] Speaker 1: Stan reality show Love Circle, Love Square, Love Triangle, whatever
[24:40] Speaker 1: it's called, whatever shape it was. He was on that
[24:42] Speaker 1: and they got together and we all said, well, this
[24:45] Speaker 1: is a publicity stunt, this is never gonna last, this
[24:48] Speaker 1: is silly, which I mean was a fair assumption at
[24:50] Speaker 1: the time, because they were introduced by a Daily Mail
[24:52] Speaker 1: journalist and every date they went on came with like
[24:56] Speaker 1: a paparazzi and a magazine deal. But now Gia and
[24:59] Speaker 1: the guy they're still together. They're now living together, they're
[25:02] Speaker 1: flipping houses together, and yeah, they're they're going strong. So
[25:06] Speaker 1: so yeah, I guess that means, hey, there's the hope
[25:09] Speaker 1: for all of us say
