In this episode, Mr Money talks to Johnathan, a 23 year old student who has built up a 6-figure stock portfolio. Johnathan was from an engineering background, he had no knowledge on finance, and his ambition was to be a theoretical physicist. When he was 18, out of curiosity, he wanted to learn how the stock market was like. He learnt about stock investing through Khan Academy one day while looking for Mathematical tutorials, and opened a brokerage account with his Mom's ID after saving RM10k from allowance money. Frugality and thinking long term was the main theme in the convo, as they talk about putting yourself in a harsh environment, so that if things don't work out, you'll be able to cope with living in poverty all over again. Also, segregating your lifestyle needs from wants, as the more you save, the more you'll be able to expand your means of generating more income.
