[0:05] Speaker 1: there was a little girl called Sophie and she was
[0:08] Speaker 1: having tea with her mummy in the kitchen. Suddenly there
[0:12] Speaker 1: was a ring at the door. Sophie's mummy said, I
[0:16] Speaker 1: wonder who that could be. It can't be Daddy because
[0:19] Speaker 1: he has his key, and it can't be the milkman
[0:22] Speaker 1: because he came this morning. It must be somebody we
[0:26] Speaker 1: don't know. Sophie opened the door and there was a big, furry,
[0:32] Speaker 1: striped tiger who came to tea. The tiger looked very
[0:36] Speaker 1: polite and said, excuse me, but I am very hungry.
[0:41] Speaker 1: I wonder if I could come in and have tea
[0:43] Speaker 1: with you. Sophie's mummy said, of course, come in. So
[0:49] Speaker 1: the tiger came into the kitchen. He was so big
[0:53] Speaker 1: that he nearly knocked over the kitchen table. The tiger's appetite,
[0:58] Speaker 1: Sophie's mummy quickly puts some plates of sandwiches, buns, and
[1:02] Speaker 1: all the cakes onto the table. The tiger who came
[1:05] Speaker 1: to tea didn't sit down at the table, but pulled
[1:08] Speaker 1: up a chair and began to eat. He ate all
[1:12] Speaker 1: the sandwiches on the plate, and all the buns and
[1:14] Speaker 1: all the biscuits. He drank all the tea in the teapot,
[1:18] Speaker 1: and then he ate all the food on the table.
[1:21] Speaker 1: He even ate all the cakes that mummy had baked
[1:24] Speaker 1: for tomorrow. Sophie's mummy said, would you like some more?
[1:29] Speaker 1: The tiger said yes, please, So Sophie's mummy gave him
[1:34] Speaker 1: all of daddy's supper which was cooking in the saucepan,
[1:37] Speaker 1: and all the food out of the fridge, and all
[1:39] Speaker 1: the packets and tins in the cupboard. He ate everything.
[1:44] Speaker 1: He drank all the milk, all the orange juice, and
[1:47] Speaker 1: all of Daddy's beer. He even drank all the water
[1:51] Speaker 1: in the tap. Then he said, thank you for my
[1:54] Speaker 1: nice tea. I think i'd better go now, and he went.
[2:00] Speaker 1: Sophie and her mummy looked at the empty kitchen. Everything
[2:04] Speaker 1: was gone. Sophie's mummy said, I don't know what to do.
[2:09] Speaker 1: The tiger who came to tea has eaten all our
[2:12] Speaker 1: food and drunk all our drink, and I haven't got
[2:15] Speaker 1: anything for Daddy's supper. A little adventure. Just then, Sophie's
[2:21] Speaker 1: daddy came home. When he heard what had happened. He said,
[2:25] Speaker 1: cheer up, I know what we'll do. We'll all go
[2:28] Speaker 1: out to a cafe and have supper there. So they
[2:32] Speaker 1: all put on their coats and went out. They walked
[2:35] Speaker 1: down the road to a little cafe. They had a
[2:38] Speaker 1: lovely supper with sausages, chips and ice cream. In the morning,
[2:44] Speaker 1: Sophie and her mummy went shopping. They bought lots of food,
[2:48] Speaker 1: and they bought a very big tin of tiger who
[2:51] Speaker 1: came to Tea food just in case the tiger should
[2:54] Speaker 1: ever come to Tea again. But he never did.
