## Transcript

[0:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[0:06] Speaker 2: It's the sanctuary with Bran and Chase.
[0:09] Speaker 3: Yeah, my new favorite thing. I'm your new favorite thing. Yeah,
[0:27] Speaker 3: you are. Except, hey, buddy, it's not a new. It's
[0:30] Speaker 3: not new. It ain't new, baby. It ain't new. How
[0:33] Speaker 3: you doing?
[0:35] Speaker 2: Sorry, I'm good. I genuinely have a lot of business
[0:39] Speaker 2: meetings this morning, and then I have this episode.
[0:42] Speaker 3: What else have you got? What other meetings? Let's lay
[0:44] Speaker 3: it out there for the people.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Nothing I can speak on publicly.
[0:48] Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. You're talking to Skydance, too? They're going
[0:52] Speaker 3: to buy you out?
[0:53] Speaker 2: Let's just say it rhymes with weave jobs.
[0:59] Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. He's dead. It's a ghost thing. Yeah,
[1:02] Speaker 3: I'm getting the Ouija board out. I got to talk
[1:03] Speaker 3: to Stevie boy. You getting ghosty. Petey's not here because
[1:08] Speaker 3: we fired him. I heard. I heard.
[1:12] Speaker 4: I mean, it's no coincidence that I'm here today and
[1:18] Speaker 4: Petey's not.
[1:19] Speaker 2: I'll say that. The network's not pleased. Genuinely, Petey feels terrible.
[1:29] Speaker 2: about what happened with Wednesday's episode.
[1:31] Speaker 4: Listen, sometimes it gets away from you. It hasn't for
[1:34] Speaker 4: me because I'm a professional. Although I did once live stream.
[1:39] Speaker 3: Myself eating a bunch of cookies and I threw up.
[1:42] Speaker 4: I heard about that. You know, we all have our moments. Although,
[1:45] Speaker 4: you know, that was part of it. That was a
[1:48] Speaker 4: part of the whole deal. That was always the.
[1:50] Speaker 3: Risk when live streaming yourself eating a bunch of cookies.
[1:53] Speaker 3: A lot of people probably saw that as... A draw.
[1:56] Speaker 1: Sure.
[1:56] Speaker 3: That was what we were coming to see. Is he
[1:58] Speaker 3: going to throw up? Yeah.
[2:00] Speaker 4: But we do want to hop on here today because
[2:03] Speaker 4: I wasn't able to make it to the last recording, apparently.
[2:08] Speaker 3: Thank God.
[2:08] Speaker 4: But we did want to make sure that we talk
[2:15] Speaker 4: about trades because we're cutting it off after week two.
[2:18] Speaker 4: The trade deadline is here. And so we will address
[2:22] Speaker 4: that here in a moment.
[2:23] Speaker 3: But also... A few days now removed from the episodes,
[2:29] Speaker 3: any thoughts that you weren't able to convey during the
[2:34] Speaker 3: experience there?
[2:37] Speaker 2: What's so bad about that episode is I was relatively sober.
[2:40] Speaker 2: I really hadn't had anything to drink. But when you
[2:43] Speaker 2: listen to it, I sound just as wasted as everybody else.
[2:47] Speaker 2: And I think it's just from one of those vibes things,
[2:49] Speaker 2: you know?
[2:50] Speaker 4: Yeah, well, listen, that happens. We've heard you drunk before.
[2:56] Speaker 4: And you powered through. How many Twisted Teas do you
[3:01] Speaker 4: have up there?
[3:03] Speaker 3: I did have Twisted Teas. They have them up in
[3:05] Speaker 3: New York, huh? Yeah, yeah. New York, New York. New York,
[3:08] Speaker 3: New York.
[3:10] Speaker 2: I'm excited to hear your takes on the episode.
[3:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[3:15] Speaker 3: Big moment.
[3:15] Speaker 2: I mean, let's just kind of hit the highlights. First
[3:18] Speaker 2: big thing that happens is, of course, a thumb gets
[3:20] Speaker 2: chopped off.
[3:21] Speaker 3: I couldn't believe how much of that they showed. They showed.
[3:26] Speaker 3: It was so much blood. That seemed to be the
[3:27] Speaker 3: general consensus. So much blood.
[3:29] Speaker 4: It was the amount of blood to where if WWE
[3:33] Speaker 4: was playing the replay of it, they'd go black and white.
[3:35] Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about? Yes. It was so
[3:39] Speaker 3: much blood. And then to show the chunk of blood.
[3:43] Speaker 3: the chunk of thumb as well was crazy.
[3:45] Speaker 4: So I don't know how well you could see that
[3:48] Speaker 4: from where you were sitting at the event.
[3:50] Speaker 3: Pretty well.
[3:51] Speaker 4: It's a very large chunk of that man's thumb or
[3:55] Speaker 4: Brody Brady. So that was wild.
[3:58] Speaker 3: And I.
[4:01] Speaker 4: Loved how intense he was about it. Like the fact
[4:05] Speaker 4: that right after.
[4:06] Speaker 3: It happened, he was like, I hope they don't pull
[4:09] Speaker 3: me from the game. I'm not leaving the game. You
[4:12] Speaker 3: want that in a player, right? Yeah, yeah.
[4:15] Speaker 4: I don't know if it's going to help him long-term,
[4:16] Speaker 4: but you want that in a player.
[4:18] Speaker 2: There's a few things that could happen here with Brody.
[4:21] Speaker 3: Jeff has come out.
[4:23] Speaker 2: So Jeff has been doing a thing on Instagram, on
[4:24] Speaker 2: the official Survivor CBS Instagram page, where we're getting Jeff's
[4:29] Speaker 2: field notes.
[4:30] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's what he used to do on the podcast,
[4:34] Speaker 3: but they don't do that anymore, so now they're just
[4:36] Speaker 3: putting in the visual, which I guess is fine. Which, honestly.
[4:39] Speaker 2: I think it's better because Jeff obviously doesn't like doing
[4:42] Speaker 2: the podcast.
[4:43] Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll read his field notes of the things that
[4:46] Speaker 4: he said about Anna because I always like doing that.
[4:48] Speaker 3: But you go ahead. Keep saying what you're saying.
[4:51] Speaker 2: He was very impressed by the gesture of Brady telling
[4:58] Speaker 2: the doctor, the producer, take Jeff my thumb and tell
[5:02] Speaker 2: him what.
[5:03] Speaker 3: I did here today. Jeff is such... I think he.
[5:07] Speaker 2: Went through a phase where he was just kind of
[5:09] Speaker 2: like he was trying to be like everyone's friend, Jeff.
[5:13] Speaker 3: But at his core, he is a dude, bro. Yeah,
[5:16] Speaker 3: he's one of the guys.
[5:19] Speaker 2: And he loves that toxic masculinity type character in the show.
[5:25] Speaker 3: And so I think.
[5:26] Speaker 2: That Jeff probably loves Brady after this incident.
[5:31] Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Brady's going to be great for the show.
[5:34] Speaker 4: I mean, I'm happy that he didn't get pulled.
[5:36] Speaker 3: He's very... Gives lots of energy.
[5:39] Speaker 4: And even after losing a chunk of his thumb, he
[5:42] Speaker 4: was still going hard during the challenge. So you can't
[5:45] Speaker 4: ask for much more out of a contestant.
[5:47] Speaker 3: I was.
[5:49] Speaker 4: Sad to see Anna go, even though it's another player
[5:54] Speaker 4: off of Petey's team, which is hilarious.
[5:57] Speaker 2: It is.
[5:58] Speaker 4: It is objectively hilarious that Petey's lost two players so far.
[6:03] Speaker 2: I think it's because of how cocky he was before
[6:07] Speaker 2: the season.
[6:07] Speaker 4: And what's amazing is that both weeks going into Tribal,
[6:13] Speaker 4: I have been prepared to lose one of my players.
[6:16] Speaker 3: Week one, I'm like, okay, Jenna's gone. It is what
[6:21] Speaker 3: it is. Week two, okay, Eric's gone. It is what
[6:23] Speaker 3: it is.
[6:25] Speaker 4: In both weeks, somehow Petey's players find a way to
[6:29] Speaker 4: send themselves home.
[6:31] Speaker 3: But I really liked Anna. I thought she gave us
[6:33] Speaker 3: a lot of really funny.
[6:34] Speaker 4: Bits this episode. The popcorn thing was so funny. I
[6:40] Speaker 4: laughed so hard at that. And I really loved, Chase,
[6:45] Speaker 4: the way that they set up and then paid off
[6:49] Speaker 4: the crab thing was amazing.
[6:53] Speaker 3: So showing early on What's his name? My guy. Carter's
[6:59] Speaker 3: Love of the Crab.
[7:01] Speaker 2: Yes.
[7:02] Speaker 3: And he's really into this thing, right? Great. And I'm like, okay,
[7:05] Speaker 3: that's fun. They caught a crab. Why does this matter?
[7:08] Speaker 4: And then for it to come back up later, where
[7:11] Speaker 4: Carter's sitting there being like, they're on to us.
[7:15] Speaker 3: Talking about the crab is so funny. And I thought
[7:21] Speaker 3: that the.
[7:23] Speaker 4: the setup payoff of the crab thing was peak survivor
[7:29] Speaker 4: for me.
[7:30] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[7:31] Speaker 2: I mean, it's been a phenomenal season to two episodes
[7:34] Speaker 2: and it's been a phenomenal season already. I would, I
[7:37] Speaker 2: would put this season up against season 48 and 49 already.
[7:42] Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely.
[7:44] Speaker 4: I think that this is the most that I've liked
[7:47] Speaker 4: a cast out of the gate since 47, maybe. Yeah,
[7:52] Speaker 4: since Q's season. Which had so many great personalities.
[7:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%. Another funny thing from this episode is.
[8:04] Speaker 3: And.
[8:08] Speaker 2: I know you haven't listened to the main episode. We
[8:09] Speaker 2: talked about it a lot there, but I don't know
[8:11] Speaker 2: if it was coherent, so I'm going to try to
[8:14] Speaker 2: bring it up in a simple way. PD was so...
[8:19] Speaker 2: I mean, he kept... He drafted Anna first.
[8:22] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[8:23] Speaker 2: And he kept calling Anna in private, not as a bit.
[8:27] Speaker 2: To me, he kept saying Anna's the main character of
[8:30] Speaker 2: the season.
[8:30] Speaker 3: Wow.
[8:31] Speaker 2: And I kept saying, Petey, why do you think that
[8:35] Speaker 2: Anna's the main character of the season? I couldn't fathom.
[8:38] Speaker 2: But I've been wrong so many times. I mean, both
[8:43] Speaker 2: of us could not believe that he drafted Aubrey first
[8:47] Speaker 2: last season for 50.
[8:48] Speaker 3: That's true.
[8:49] Speaker 2: And then she won the whole thing. So I genuinely thought, like,
[8:52] Speaker 2: he's done it again. He just sees something that we don't.
[8:56] Speaker 2: And so it was hilarious to watch her go home
[8:58] Speaker 2: week two. And I called before the episode. I said,
[9:03] Speaker 2: I think Anna's going home this week. Because from the
[9:06] Speaker 2: first episode, she didn't give much other than that she's
[9:09] Speaker 2: a voice actor.
[9:11] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[9:12] Speaker 4: I was surprised, though, because she's so fun. And one
[9:19] Speaker 4: thing that I love about Anna is she does this thing,
[9:22] Speaker 4: she did it a couple times in the episode, where
[9:24] Speaker 4: she responds in a way to where she sounds angrier
[9:29] Speaker 4: than she actually is. And it's just like a really
[9:33] Speaker 4: funny bit to me that she does. And I think
[9:36] Speaker 4: that she, this is what Jeff said.
[9:38] Speaker 1: Okay.
[9:39] Speaker 3: My first impressions from Anna. Yes, yes, yes.
[9:43] Speaker 4: Great energy, great interview. She is engaging. She likes to perform,
[9:48] Speaker 4: and she's sharp. She gets it. If she lasts long enough,
[9:53] Speaker 4: could be fun to watch her play. If she chooses
[9:56] Speaker 4: the right initial alliances, that's going to be the key
[9:59] Speaker 4: for her whole. run, she can be on right now.
[10:06] Speaker 4: I'm going to miss her. I think that she's gone
[10:09] Speaker 4: too soon. And two, I feel like, great episodes, great tribals,
[10:17] Speaker 4: and this tribal was insane. Rob voting for himself is insane.
[10:26] Speaker 2: When that happened, I immediately said, thank God I did
[10:29] Speaker 2: not trade two of my players for Rob. Like I
[10:33] Speaker 2: almost did last week.
[10:34] Speaker 3: Do you think he's going to be able to recover,
[10:39] Speaker 3: to recover? This is tough because.
[10:43] Speaker 4: It's not something like at some point air, like, Probably
[10:48] Speaker 4: next episode, Eric is going to have to be like, hey, dude,
[10:53] Speaker 4: what was that?
[10:54] Speaker 3: What happened? Because let's not forget.
[10:57] Speaker 2: And there's been a lot of confusion online about what
[11:00] Speaker 2: was Rob's plan even in the first place. And I
[11:04] Speaker 2: think it's pretty clear what the plan was. He just
[11:07] Speaker 2: forgot one of the only rules of Survivor, which.
[11:11] Speaker 4: Is that you cannot vote for yourself. He forgot, obviously,
[11:17] Speaker 4: you can't vote for yourself. He also was just unaware
[11:22] Speaker 4: that Anna's name was out there. He thought that evidently
[11:27] Speaker 4: everyone was voting for Eric.
[11:30] Speaker 2: What he was going to do is vote for himself,
[11:34] Speaker 2: give his idol to Eric, which means that all of
[11:37] Speaker 2: the votes for Eric don't count. The only vote that
[11:40] Speaker 2: counts is the one for himself. He gets sent out
[11:43] Speaker 2: of the game. As some sort of like.
[11:48] Speaker 3: like, martyr.
[11:49] Speaker 4: He wants to quit. He wants to quit, but he
[11:53] Speaker 4: doesn't want to seem like a little B.
[11:55] Speaker 3: Right.
[11:56] Speaker 4: But I don't think it would take long for people
[12:01] Speaker 4: to be like... If he could vote for himself, for
[12:04] Speaker 4: people to be like, did he vote himself out?
[12:06] Speaker 3: Because... He would make a scene of it.
[12:10] Speaker 4: He would have given Eric the idol, right?
[12:15] Speaker 3: Yeah. And so... It would take people to be like, well,
[12:17] Speaker 3: then if he gave him the idol, who did anybody
[12:21] Speaker 3: here vote for? And they don't be like, no, no.
[12:24] Speaker 2: And then it was like, but also I think that
[12:27] Speaker 2: Rob would have made a big scene of it as
[12:29] Speaker 2: he was leaving.
[12:31] Speaker 3: He would have been like, sometimes in survival, you got
[12:33] Speaker 3: to make sacrifices. I knew I wasn't going to win.
[12:35] Speaker 3: So I was trying to help Eric with a pink substance.
[12:38] Speaker 3: I need a pink substance.
[12:40] Speaker 2: But also it's pretty clear. I mean, I think he's
[12:45] Speaker 2: in trouble because he told Eric, just trust me. And
[12:48] Speaker 2: then he voted for Eric. Yeah, it is going.
[12:53] Speaker 4: I'm fascinated at how this next episode is going to
[12:55] Speaker 4: start because he tells Eric what to do.
[12:59] Speaker 3: He's like, just trust me. pulls him to the side.
[13:01] Speaker 3: Everyone saw him do this. Yes, yes.
[13:04] Speaker 4: Right before they're going to vote, he raises his hand
[13:07] Speaker 4: and he says, can I talk to Eric, which is
[13:09] Speaker 4: so funny.
[13:10] Speaker 3: He says, you're tribal, brother.
[13:11] Speaker 4: Everybody knows they are going to be like, hey, what
[13:15] Speaker 4: was that about? And I will say the only thing
[13:20] Speaker 4: that I think he has going for him is he didn't.
[13:22] Speaker 3: Tell Eric the plan.
[13:24] Speaker 4: So if he is able to come up with a
[13:27] Speaker 4: plan quick enough, for an excuse for why he pulled
[13:31] Speaker 4: Eric aside, why he told Eric to play his shot
[13:34] Speaker 4: in the dark, which he didn't do, then he can,
[13:37] Speaker 4: because at the end of the day, he does still
[13:39] Speaker 4: have his idol. So if he decides, okay, maybe this
[13:43] Speaker 4: is the survivor gods telling me that I do belong here,
[13:48] Speaker 4: that I need to stay in the game.
[13:50] Speaker 3: He can pivot, but it's tough.
[13:52] Speaker 2: We have some insight from being at The watch party
[13:55] Speaker 2: with Linnea, Ori, and Lewis.
[13:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[13:59] Speaker 2: I think we can make a bit of a prediction
[14:01] Speaker 2: based off of.
[14:02] Speaker 3: Oh. I don't know for certain.
[14:05] Speaker 2: What I will say is someone did ask the three
[14:07] Speaker 2: of them, did you know Rob voted for himself?
[14:10] Speaker 3: And they all said no. Oh, okay. So I wonder
[14:14] Speaker 3: if Rob.
[14:15] Speaker 2: Doesn't even explain himself afterwards because it seems like he
[14:18] Speaker 2: just wants to quit. Maybe the beginning of next episode
[14:22] Speaker 2: starts with him just quitting the game, maybe?
[14:23] Speaker 3: Maybe. Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
[14:27] Speaker 4: There's something about the way that he is where I
[14:33] Speaker 4: don't think he's going to be able to do it
[14:36] Speaker 4: because of the way.
[14:38] Speaker 3: Go ahead.
[14:39] Speaker 2: I think that we have three non-vote-out eliminations that could
[14:43] Speaker 2: happen this season based just of what happens in this episode.
[14:47] Speaker 2: I think Rob's going to quit or get everyone to
[14:52] Speaker 2: vote him out at best. Brady's thumb could get infected,
[15:00] Speaker 2: which we've seen injuries get infected later on and cause
[15:03] Speaker 2: them to be eliminated from the game later on. And
[15:06] Speaker 2: then also in this episode, we find out through social media,
[15:10] Speaker 2: through some deleted scenes, Kristen breaks her ankle.
[15:15] Speaker 3: Yeah. It's not good. No.
[15:19] Speaker 2: So that's three very entertaining players that could be sent
[15:24] Speaker 2: home for medical reasons or just because they want to
[15:26] Speaker 2: quit the game.
[15:27] Speaker 4: Of those three, the one that I would be the
[15:29] Speaker 4: saddest to see go is Kristen. I think we're just
[15:33] Speaker 4: getting started with how great of a character she is
[15:38] Speaker 4: and player that I would be really sad if we
[15:40] Speaker 4: didn't get to see her last however long she's going
[15:44] Speaker 4: to last in this game.
[15:45] Speaker 3: But PD is here. Hi, PD.
[15:46] Speaker 2: Hi. Hi.
[15:48] Speaker 1: I'm here. Um, this microphone is just a prop because
[15:51] Speaker 1: I'm using my AirPods. Is my connection better now?
[15:57] Speaker 3: It is. It is.
[15:58] Speaker 4: I mean, you, you can still kind of look silly,
[16:00] Speaker 4: but I feel like the delay is better.
[16:04] Speaker 3: And so I think, I think that's good. I think
[16:07] Speaker 3: that's good. PD. I want to hear straight from the
[16:10] Speaker 3: horse's mouth. And you're the horse. And you're the horse. Yes.
[16:14] Speaker 3: You are the horse.
[16:15] Speaker 1: Yeah. You are.
[16:16] Speaker 3: I have a full of glue. Oh, you have a
[16:20] Speaker 3: statement prepared.
[16:21] Speaker 4: I wasn't even going to ask you about your drunken escapades.
[16:24] Speaker 4: I was just going to try to talk to you
[16:26] Speaker 4: about survivor, but I will allow you to make any statement.
[16:29] Speaker 1: Oh, no, I think it's important that we address it. Um,
[16:33] Speaker 1: so I would like to, you know, with a heavy heart, um,
[16:37] Speaker 1: I want to apologize publicly for my behavior and, on
[16:41] Speaker 1: last week's episode. We had a great watch party in
[16:44] Speaker 1: Manhattan and I celebrated a little too hard. I showed
[16:48] Speaker 1: up to record drunk and in no state to host.
[16:51] Speaker 1: I ended up handing over hosting duties to Justin. It
[16:54] Speaker 1: was unprofessional, unfair to my co-hosts and whoever had to
[16:59] Speaker 1: step in last minute and disrespectful to you, the listeners.
[17:03] Speaker 1: There's no excuse. I love hosting this podcast and I'm
[17:07] Speaker 1: sorry to my team I pride myself and think of
[17:10] Speaker 1: myself as a man of faith as there's a deep
[17:13] Speaker 1: drive into left field by Castellanos.
[17:16] Speaker 3: It will be a home run.
[17:17] Speaker 1: So that'll make it a four Oh ball game.
[17:22] Speaker 2: Is that the apology that that one baseball announcer announcer
[17:25] Speaker 2: gave during the game?
[17:28] Speaker 3: Yeah. The end of it.
[17:31] Speaker 1: So like half of it was mine. Yeah. He used
[17:36] Speaker 1: a homophobic slur on the broadcast.
[17:39] Speaker 3: That's right. Which is very similar to what you did. No,
[17:43] Speaker 3: it's not. It's the opposite of what he did.
[17:48] Speaker 4: He allowed a gay fella to lead in his stead,
[17:55] Speaker 4: which is the least homophobic thing you can do.
[17:59] Speaker 3: Very true.
[18:00] Speaker 2: So even when I'm being problematic, I made a joke
[18:03] Speaker 2: out of it, but.
[18:05] Speaker 3: That's true.
[18:06] Speaker 2: PD made a joke out of that, but I do
[18:08] Speaker 2: think that he is sincerely sorry.
[18:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's a half and half. Okay, PD.
[18:17] Speaker 3: I'm afraid I don't think you're going to be able
[18:19] Speaker 3: to be in the episode. I don't think it's going
[18:20] Speaker 3: to be good, but let me just look really quickly, PD,
[18:24] Speaker 3: to see if I want to make any trades to
[18:26] Speaker 3: you really quickly. If anyone should be making trades.
[18:31] Speaker 1: Well, you know, you would think that. But I lost
[18:35] Speaker 1: the first two, so clearly the five that I have,
[18:39] Speaker 1: they're going all the way. That's the final five.
[18:45] Speaker 3: All right. The only player, PD. Sorry, go ahead, Chase.
[18:49] Speaker 3: You were about to do a reset there.
[18:52] Speaker 2: I was just going to say, as a refresher, here
[18:54] Speaker 2: are the teams.
[18:56] Speaker 3: PD has lost Anna and Aliyah.
[18:59] Speaker 1: Aliyah.
[19:00] Speaker 3: He still has Linnea.
[19:02] Speaker 1: Aliyah.
[19:04] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[19:04] Speaker 2: He still has Linnea, Tanan, Devin, Sharonda, and Christian. Hey, Peter,
[19:10] Speaker 2: you really can't pitch in while other people are talking.
[19:13] Speaker 2: The delay is crazy.
[19:16] Speaker 1: I'm on data.
[19:21] Speaker 2: Bran has Jelly, Carter, Kristen, Jenna. kilby eric and rob
[19:27] Speaker 2: bran has not lost anyone yet and i have ori
[19:31] Speaker 2: lewis pat brady alexis mike and maggie i have not
[19:36] Speaker 2: lost anyone yet this is kind of unprecedented here on
[19:39] Speaker 2: the making the merge podcast.
[19:42] Speaker 4: The fact that you and i are doing well yeah
[19:44] Speaker 4: it is unprecedented yeah it's unprecedented the only player of
[19:49] Speaker 4: pds that i'm interested in and has been a riser for.
[19:53] Speaker 3: Me is Sharonda.
[19:54] Speaker 4: I was low on Sharonda going into the season. I
[19:59] Speaker 4: am significantly higher on her two episodes, and I can't imagine, PD,
[20:04] Speaker 4: that you would be willing to... Let Sharonda go. But
[20:10] Speaker 4: are you willing, are you open to any deals for
[20:13] Speaker 4: Sharonda or is she off the table?
[20:17] Speaker 1: I think I should hold on to the one player
[20:20] Speaker 1: that looks really promising for me.
[20:24] Speaker 3: Sharonda, I won't let you down. So should I just
[20:27] Speaker 3: get out of here? Yeah, unless you want to make
[20:31] Speaker 3: a trade, but it doesn't sound like you do. Do
[20:32] Speaker 3: you have any offers for Sharonda?
[20:34] Speaker 1: Um, Carter for Kilby. I know, I know you're trying
[20:38] Speaker 1: to offload Kilby. No, wait.
[20:40] Speaker 3: Oh, my bad.
[20:41] Speaker 1: I meant Christian. Christian for Kilby.
[20:45] Speaker 3: Oh, okay. Cause I have both Carter and Kilby. Oh
[20:52] Speaker 3: my gosh.
[20:52] Speaker 4: You said, you said Kilby for Christian.
[20:57] Speaker 3: Yeah. Just straight up one for one. That's it. Honestly,
[21:01] Speaker 3: that's an interesting trait.
[21:03] Speaker 1: Whoa.
[21:06] Speaker 4: I'm relatively convinced that Kilby's not winning this game.
[21:10] Speaker 2: But I do think Kilby has been shown a lot
[21:12] Speaker 2: more prevalently than Christian.
[21:15] Speaker 3: Right.
[21:16] Speaker 4: But Christian hasn't given me anything one way or another.
[21:21] Speaker 4: So it's kind of.
[21:22] Speaker 1: Yeah. So you're going to find him. You're going to
[21:24] Speaker 1: get him, get him, get him, get him one way
[21:26] Speaker 1: or another.
[21:27] Speaker 3: I got to be honest. I got to be honest.
[21:29] Speaker 4: This is so, so frustrating because literally the last thing
[21:36] Speaker 4: that I want to do, I don't think I would
[21:40] Speaker 4: continue the show if I traded the winner to.
[21:45] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[21:46] Speaker 1: There's no way Kilby's winning, though.
[21:49] Speaker 3: I think I would quit.
[21:50] Speaker 4: I don't think I would do this anymore.
[21:53] Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get something done for the sake
[21:55] Speaker 1: of the show because I don't think Christian or Kilby wins.
[21:59] Speaker 3: That's fair.
[22:00] Speaker 2: I think one thing that we didn't see this coming
[22:03] Speaker 2: when we were like, maybe we could do some trades.
[22:05] Speaker 2: I think we were all terrified of accidentally trading the
[22:09] Speaker 2: winner away.
[22:10] Speaker 3: Absolutely. Yeah.
[22:15] Speaker 4: But it is an interesting one because I do think,
[22:17] Speaker 4: to your point, PD, that neither of those players are winning.
[22:21] Speaker 3: So what's the harm, right? What's the harm in doing it? Oh, gosh.
[22:31] Speaker 3: I don't like it. I don't feel great. You don't
[22:35] Speaker 3: have to do it. You don't have to do it, man.
[22:37] Speaker 4: I don't feel good in my tummy about it. My
[22:39] Speaker 4: tummy is a little bit... It's hard to know if
[22:42] Speaker 4: that is... the trade or the pizza. Um, I am
[22:47] Speaker 4: going to go with a no on this.
[22:49] Speaker 3: No, no. Okay.
[22:51] Speaker 1: All right.
[22:52] Speaker 3: All right.
[22:52] Speaker 1: Then I will hop out of the stream. Unless Chase
[22:55] Speaker 1: has an offer for me.
[22:57] Speaker 2: Um, I don't, I think Sharonda is a great.
[23:03] Speaker 3: Choice. I don't think you're letting go of her.
[23:06] Speaker 1: Linnea not going anywhere. Cause her mom gave me a sticker.
[23:10] Speaker 2: Yeah, she gave me one too, which is why I
[23:12] Speaker 2: kind of wanted her, but I know you're not going
[23:14] Speaker 2: to let her go either. So, yeah, those are the
[23:17] Speaker 2: only two that really interest me because, I mean, I
[23:20] Speaker 2: don't want to let go of someone on my team
[23:22] Speaker 2: that's doing well for someone on PD's team, which is
[23:24] Speaker 2: cursed this season.
[23:25] Speaker 1: All right, we're all sandbagging.
[23:29] Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm sandbagging entirely, but I am
[23:32] Speaker 4: going to sandbag you. I don't know if I totally
[23:34] Speaker 4: understand the term, so I do apologize if I say
[23:38] Speaker 4: anything offensive.
[23:40] Speaker 1: It's a pro wrestling term for not working. Yeah.
[23:44] Speaker 3: Okay. Very good. Yes, I'm sandbagging you. Yeah. I'm going
[23:49] Speaker 3: to drop you on your head, PD. That's right. That's right.
[23:51] Speaker 3: All right. Bye, PD.
[23:52] Speaker 1: See you later this week.
[23:55] Speaker 3: See you.
[23:56] Speaker 2: Bye.
[23:57] Speaker 3: All right, Chase.
[23:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk real business here, man.
[24:04] Speaker 4: I've made it known that I really want Pantless Pat.
[24:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's going to be hard for me because I
[24:11] Speaker 2: think she's my winner pick.
[24:13] Speaker 3: I know.
[24:14] Speaker 1: I know.
[24:15] Speaker 4: Is there anybody that you're interested in letting go aside
[24:18] Speaker 4: from Alexis?
[24:19] Speaker 3: Because I still have no idea who she is. Yeah,
[24:21] Speaker 3: Alexis is the easy one to lose here.
[24:25] Speaker 2: Someone that I think would make an interesting trade is
[24:29] Speaker 2: I think that we both have guys that don't seem
[24:34] Speaker 2: super– in the edit so far, but could be good
[24:40] Speaker 2: later on.
[24:41] Speaker 3: And that's Mike and Carter.
[24:42] Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
[24:45] Speaker 2: And so I would be willing to just trade Mike
[24:48] Speaker 2: for Carter.
[24:49] Speaker 3: Even trade. I feel better about Carter. Than Mike? Than
[24:53] Speaker 3: I do about Mike. So I don't think I'm willing
[24:56] Speaker 3: to do that. Tell me how you're feeling about Maggie
[25:00] Speaker 3: after this episode.
[25:01] Speaker 4: I still am interested in trading for Maggie. That's what
[25:05] Speaker 4: I was just thinking about.
[25:06] Speaker 3: Okay. That's what I was just thinking about. But you
[25:11] Speaker 3: don't want Kilby. No, I don't want Kilby.
[25:16] Speaker 2: Would you be interested in taking a flyer with Rob? Yeah,
[25:20] Speaker 2: I really considered taking Rob. I'm so glad I thought
[25:24] Speaker 2: on our trades from last week because I almost offered
[25:27] Speaker 2: you two.
[25:27] Speaker 3: Players for Rob, right? Yeah, I think you did.
[25:31] Speaker 2: Big mistake that would have been. Um, yeah, I'm not
[25:36] Speaker 2: interested in Rob whatsoever. I think he's going to quit
[25:38] Speaker 2: the game.
[25:39] Speaker 3: You think so? Yeah.
[25:41] Speaker 4: But I, I mean, you're not giving rid of jelly.
[25:44] Speaker 4: I'm not getting rid of jelly. I'm not getting, I
[25:46] Speaker 4: don't think I'm getting rid of Carter. Chris, Kristen's interesting
[25:52] Speaker 4: only because of the broken ankle. She could win or
[25:55] Speaker 4: she could get medevaced, you know? Um, would you do,
[26:02] Speaker 4: would you do Kristen for Pat? No, I don't think
[26:07] Speaker 4: I can trade Pat.
[26:09] Speaker 2: Pat, I genuinely think, is my winner pick.
[26:11] Speaker 3: I had to ask.
[26:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I understand. I genuinely think that Pat could
[26:15] Speaker 2: win the whole game. I mean, the showing that she
[26:18] Speaker 2: had in episode two, following what she did in episode one,
[26:22] Speaker 2: it's screaming winner at it to me, where it's like
[26:25] Speaker 2: episode one, she gets a big moment where she loses
[26:27] Speaker 2: her pants, and it's funny, and it's endearing. She does
[26:31] Speaker 2: play hard in episode one, and then in episode two...
[26:33] Speaker 2: I mean, she's working her ass off. She's in a
[26:36] Speaker 2: good spot. I think that she could win the whole game.
[26:39] Speaker 2: She could be my Rachel from 48 or 47, whatever
[26:43] Speaker 2: season that was.
[26:46] Speaker 3: Okay.
[26:49] Speaker 2: See, this is an interesting situation, Brand, because I think
[26:52] Speaker 2: we're used to not doing so well.
[26:54] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[26:55] Speaker 2: But we both have really good players this season.
[26:59] Speaker 3: One of us is going to be the winner, I think.
[27:01] Speaker 3: I think so.
[27:02] Speaker 4: Be really sad if it's not we still lost um
[27:10] Speaker 4: okay uh i mean you wouldn't do kill me for
[27:12] Speaker 4: maggie right.
[27:15] Speaker 2: I mean part of me is like should we should
[27:17] Speaker 2: i do it just so that we because we introduce
[27:19] Speaker 2: trades we have to do at least one trade but
[27:23] Speaker 2: maggie had a great showing this episode it's crazy.
[27:29] Speaker 3: What about just to see if we want to do something?
[27:32] Speaker 3: What about Eric for Alexis? You know what, man?
[27:38] Speaker 2: I would be willing to do that just because I
[27:39] Speaker 2: don't think either of them are winning, and that's funny.
[27:42] Speaker 3: You like that? Are we doing this? Let's just do it.
[27:44] Speaker 3: Let's just do it. For the first trade?
[27:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, the first official trade of making the merge at
[27:50] Speaker 2: the deadline.
[27:52] Speaker 3: How about that? All right, it's official.
[27:54] Speaker 2: So....
[27:57] Speaker 3: Just to clarify, you now have Alexis.
[28:02] Speaker 1: Yes.
[28:03] Speaker 3: And I now have Eric. Huh. You feel good? I
[28:10] Speaker 3: feel good about it.
[28:12] Speaker 4: There's a part of me, like, there's such.
[28:14] Speaker 3: The devil you know is better than the devil you don't. 100%.
[28:22] Speaker 4: There's a part of me that is concerned, because at
[28:26] Speaker 4: least I know what I'm getting with Eric at this point.
[28:29] Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't know anything about Alexis. I know so
[28:32] Speaker 3: little about Alexis. Although I do feel like she was
[28:35] Speaker 3: in the weeds of what happened this past week.
[28:41] Speaker 2: This is one of those that, you know, it could
[28:43] Speaker 2: end up crazy good for either one of us, because.
[28:47] Speaker 2: Neither of them has had a very great showing so far,
[28:51] Speaker 2: but who knows anything can happen on survivor.
[28:53] Speaker 4: I will say the one thing that I, I feel
[28:56] Speaker 4: okay about is the fact that Eric Alexis hasn't really
[29:01] Speaker 4: had a showing.
[29:02] Speaker 3: Eric has had a showing and it's not good.
[29:05] Speaker 2: So the only hope here is maybe it's an Andy
[29:10] Speaker 2: type beat for me.
[29:11] Speaker 3: Absolutely. Where he's such a goofball, but then he gets
[29:14] Speaker 3: it together. Survivor loves a redemption arc. Yeah.
[29:18] Speaker 4: And the fact that Eric's name has been thrown out
[29:22] Speaker 4: so much over the first two episodes.
[29:25] Speaker 3: And the fact that Eric didn't go home this past week.
[29:30] Speaker 3: Eric didn't go.
[29:30] Speaker 4: Home this past week in parts due to, uh, you know,
[29:36] Speaker 4: Anna just kind of screwing things up, but also like,
[29:41] Speaker 4: is Eric the guy that you bring along?
[29:44] Speaker 3: Cause he is annoying and we can vote about it
[29:46] Speaker 3: at any time. Yeah.
[29:47] Speaker 2: And another little bit of insight here from the watch party.
[29:50] Speaker 2: We do find out from Ori and Linnea that the plan.
[29:54] Speaker 3: Was never Eric.
[29:55] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[29:56] Speaker 2: In fact, Ori was working with Linnea and the girls,
[30:01] Speaker 2: and their plan was to, like, you know, when Ori
[30:04] Speaker 2: makes that statement where he's like, you know, it's got
[30:06] Speaker 2: to be Eric. I've had my eye on Eric for
[30:09] Speaker 2: a while. That was all a strategy to make it
[30:12] Speaker 2: seem like he's not working with Linnea and the others.
[30:15] Speaker 3: Oh, interesting. So we have, like, a Kyle Camilla thing.
[30:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, we do.
[30:20] Speaker 3: Hidden secret alliances. Yep.
[30:23] Speaker 2: And that wasn't shown in the edit. That is just
[30:25] Speaker 2: some behind-the-scenes knowledge we got in New York.
[30:28] Speaker 3: New York.
[30:28] Speaker 2: Well, technically it.
[30:29] Speaker 3: Was Jersey City. Jersey.
[30:32] Speaker 2: Jersey.
[30:33] Speaker 3: Jersey. Brayden, I feel great about this trade. I feel
[30:36] Speaker 3: good about this. This is good. Trade is official. Commissioner
[30:40] Speaker 3: signed off on it.
[30:42] Speaker 2: Yes.
[30:43] Speaker 3: I now have Alexis. You now have Eric on your team.
[30:47] Speaker 4: We'll see if we deeply regret this trade.
[30:51] Speaker 3: If anything.
[30:52] Speaker 2: If one of those players ends up winning and we
[30:54] Speaker 2: feel terrible for trading them, it makes for a great
[30:57] Speaker 2: story for the podcast this season.
[30:58] Speaker 3: Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay.
[31:01] Speaker 4: The only other thing that I want to touch on
[31:03] Speaker 4: really quickly, and I'm sure this might be a tired
[31:08] Speaker 4: hot take, even for me, because I have said it
[31:11] Speaker 4: so many times already. I cannot get over how much
[31:17] Speaker 4: better the two tribes are than the three tribes.
[31:20] Speaker 1: It is.
[31:21] Speaker 4: honestly insane how much better the show is with two
[31:25] Speaker 4: tribes and not just from a, uh, the fact that like,
[31:30] Speaker 4: we do like this cast, but I feel like two
[31:33] Speaker 4: episodes in, I have such a better handle on the,
[31:38] Speaker 4: this cast as a whole, like Alexis is one of
[31:42] Speaker 4: those people where I feel like I'm still a little
[31:45] Speaker 4: bit unsure.
[31:46] Speaker 3: And right. To, to non is probably the other very much. Yeah.
[31:51] Speaker 4: But outside of that, like even Linnea has kind of
[31:54] Speaker 4: slid under the radar, but I just feel like I
[31:57] Speaker 4: know her a little bit more because of the fact
[31:59] Speaker 4: that you guys went to the, the, the thing and whatnot.
[32:02] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[32:02] Speaker 4: Um, I feel like for the most part, I have
[32:05] Speaker 4: been able to, figure out who these individuals are.
[32:09] Speaker 3: And they're all such big characters. Yeah.
[32:12] Speaker 2: I saw a thing saying that Jeff wants the Emmy
[32:16] Speaker 2: so bad and the traders keep taking it that they've
[32:21] Speaker 2: gone back to a little bit more of a, they're
[32:23] Speaker 2: not worried so much about making everybody seem likable and
[32:27] Speaker 2: not too much of a villain. I think they're digging
[32:30] Speaker 2: deep into those character edits.
[32:32] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[32:34] Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
[32:35] Speaker 4: I'm excited about that. I'm very excited about this episode.
[32:38] Speaker 4: We'll see what happens. I haven't watched any of the
[32:40] Speaker 4: promos yet, so I don't know if there's any buzz.
[32:44] Speaker 4: I'm really intrigued by what Rob's going to do.
[32:48] Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.
[32:49] Speaker 2: Part of me is just like, I think he's quitting.
[32:52] Speaker 2: I don't think Eric's going to go home next week
[32:54] Speaker 2: because I think Rob might just volunteer to go.
[32:57] Speaker 3: I just think, though, that type of Of bro, right?
[33:07] Speaker 4: Has, like, tricked their mind into thinking there is, like,
[33:13] Speaker 4: a manly.
[33:14] Speaker 3: Way to quit the game.
[33:15] Speaker 2: Right.
[33:16] Speaker 1: Right?
[33:16] Speaker 3: Yes. But I would never actually say I quit. Right.
[33:21] Speaker 3: Does saying, hey, vote me out, does that... Does that work?
[33:27] Speaker 4: And can you do the mental gymnastics to where you
[33:32] Speaker 4: telling people to vote you out isn't the same as quitting?
[33:34] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[33:36] Speaker 4: The fact that he was willing to vote himself out
[33:39] Speaker 4: as a way of not quitting would lead me to believe.
[33:44] Speaker 3: That he likely could get to that spot. Yeah. But
[33:48] Speaker 3: I just think... I think the fact that he wasn't
[33:52] Speaker 3: able to do it, sometimes that's the thing, right?
[33:54] Speaker 4: The thing that goes, maybe I should stick it out.
[33:58] Speaker 4: Maybe I am supposed to still be here. Because why
[34:01] Speaker 4: the heck not?
[34:02] Speaker 3: Just keep going. And he has an idol. He has
[34:06] Speaker 3: an idol. He's in a great spot. We could very
[34:08] Speaker 3: well win this thing. We could very well win this thing.
[34:11] Speaker 4: If he can turn this around, if my guy Rob
[34:15] Speaker 4: can get back to camp and and just be like, hey,
[34:19] Speaker 4: here's what happened. I really wanted to save Eric, and
[34:25] Speaker 4: so I pulled him aside, and I told him to
[34:27] Speaker 4: play a shot in the dark, and I was willing
[34:30] Speaker 4: to play my idol for him if the shot in
[34:33] Speaker 4: the dark was not safe, but then he didn't do it,
[34:38] Speaker 4: and so I didn't feel like I was going to
[34:41] Speaker 4: then save him.
[34:41] Speaker 3: I'm not going to go out. Right, yeah.
[34:43] Speaker 4: So it's like one of those things where I think
[34:45] Speaker 4: there is a way where... where you can spin it
[34:49] Speaker 4: and be like, hey, dude, I had you regardless. You
[34:51] Speaker 4: didn't play your shot in the dark, so why would
[34:54] Speaker 4: I save you? If you're not willing to go with
[34:57] Speaker 4: me on this, I wanted you here, but you showed
[35:00] Speaker 4: me that you're not willing to work with me in
[35:02] Speaker 4: that way.
[35:03] Speaker 3: You can spin it like that, right? So we'll see.
[35:06] Speaker 3: We'll see what he does. Is he smart enough to
[35:07] Speaker 3: do that? I don't know. And does he know the
[35:09] Speaker 3: game well enough? He does not. Clearly, he doesn't know
[35:13] Speaker 3: it that well. So we'll see. We'll see. I think
[35:18] Speaker 3: we'll find out pretty quickly in episode three.
[35:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, this has been an incredible season. I can't wait
[35:22] Speaker 2: for next week. Brandon, thank you for being the utmost professional.
[35:26] Speaker 3: Thanks for not being wasted while we look forward. I'll
[35:27] Speaker 3: be honest. I'm 10. drinks in you just can't tell oh.
[35:35] Speaker 4: Yeah guys i showed up one time steak drunk okay.
[35:39] Speaker 2: Brandon had a lot of meat at dinner and he
[35:42] Speaker 2: sounded like orson welles on the bucket it happened there's
[35:46] Speaker 2: a lot of meat That's a lot of meat.
[35:48] Speaker 3: That's a lot of meat.
[35:49] Speaker 2: Hey, thank you everyone for bearing with us this week.
[35:52] Speaker 2: We got a few messages saying that they did not
[35:56] Speaker 2: love the main episode Wednesday. That is not an every
[36:00] Speaker 2: week thing. That was because Bran was at a wedding.
[36:06] Speaker 2: Petey and I was invited to go to New York and...
[36:10] Speaker 2: It got a little carried away. That being said, it
[36:14] Speaker 2: is not the fault of our wonderful co-hosts on that
[36:18] Speaker 2: episode Wednesday, Justin and Jax. That was on PD and
[36:22] Speaker 2: myself for just not preparing better. Jax and Justin will
[36:29] Speaker 2: continue to be a mainstay on the sanctuary from here
[36:31] Speaker 2: on out. And that is in large part due to
[36:34] Speaker 2: Bran is typically not available for the sanctuaries due to
[36:37] Speaker 2: his schedule. And last season, we did not do the
[36:41] Speaker 2: sanctuary because we didn't want it to be just myself
[36:44] Speaker 2: and PD. So the idea is for the sanctuary to happen.
[36:48] Speaker 2: We've got some new friends to bring on some new perspectives.
[36:52] Speaker 2: And I'm very excited for how that's going to go.
[36:54] Speaker 2: We're going to play a lot of fun games on
[36:55] Speaker 2: the sanctuary this season. It's going to be a different
[36:58] Speaker 2: type of show than in the past. So thank you
[37:00] Speaker 2: guys for bearing with us. And we will be back
[37:02] Speaker 2: with a regular Wednesday or Thursday episode next week.
[37:06] Speaker 3: Bran, PD, and myself. Thank you guys so much for listening. Bran,
[37:12] Speaker 3: you got anything? I love you. I love you, man.
[37:17] Speaker 3: All right. Goodbye, everybody. You're about to hear some ads
[37:23] Speaker 3: that help keep the lights on here in the old studio.
[37:27] Speaker 3: Thanks for listening or don't listen. It's really up to
[37:30] Speaker 3: you at this point. It's at the end of the show.
[37:33] Speaker 3: I mean, you're listening to me.
[37:34] Speaker 1: Hi.
[37:35] Speaker 3: But here they come. I promise they're coming. Yep, here
[37:38] Speaker 3: they are. Happy day.
