[1:01] Speaker 2: experience with Shannon's parents bar.
[1:06] Speaker 3: The Greatest bar. It was the great Survivor.
[1:09] Speaker 4: The greatest bar I've been to, that's for sure, by far,
[1:13] Speaker 4: by far.
[1:13] Speaker 3: It's a sick place. I mean I I genuinely, uh
[1:19] Speaker 3: couldn't recommend it enough.
[1:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, so sorry to everybody who's been having sanctuary with draws.
[1:25] Speaker 4: But we're here now.
[1:26] Speaker 2: Uh, let's just start from the beginning. So we want
[1:30] Speaker 2: to go to the Survivor Bar. It's sold out because
[1:33] Speaker 2: we thought for some reason that we'd be able to
[1:36] Speaker 2: get tickets a week.
[1:37] Speaker 3: Before, Hey what can I what can I say?
[1:41] Speaker 2: We were like, you know, it won't be sold out surely,
[1:43] Speaker 2: but now it was, and I think it was sold
[1:46] Speaker 2: out for every.
[1:48] Speaker 3: Week or time. Yeah, yeah, it was a big deal.
[1:52] Speaker 2: But wild and Will our Boston Field reporter came in clutch.
[1:58] Speaker 2: He's like, you know what, let's me message Shannon and
[2:01] Speaker 2: see what I can do.
[2:02] Speaker 4: I did not have high hopes.
[2:03] Speaker 2: At this point because we had either we had just
[2:06] Speaker 2: done an episode about all about how she's a cult leader,
[2:10] Speaker 2: and similar to Charles Manson, that was Jonathan's assessment, not ours.
[2:15] Speaker 3: So right, Yeah, no, we love Shannon.
[2:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, we weren't calling her a cult leader, and we
[2:22] Speaker 2: might have been, but Jonathan was the main one doing it.
[2:25] Speaker 3: It was for it was for the jokes. It was

[2:29] Speaker 2: A little behind the curtain, we had a clip about
[2:33] Speaker 2: Shannon being a cult.
[2:34] Speaker 4: Leader that we pulled. Yeah, and the tictok like, if

[2:40] Speaker 2: Our only shot to get in, maybe we shouldn't make
[2:43] Speaker 2: a clip about how she's a cult leader.
[2:45] Speaker 3: Yeah, even though it's a joke, and I think she
[2:47] Speaker 3: would have handled it just fine. She's a she's a
[2:50] Speaker 3: grown up. She would have probably laughed at it, thought
[2:52] Speaker 3: it was funny. But we wanted to get in because
[2:54] Speaker 3: we had already I mean, we were going to Boston regardless,
[2:57] Speaker 3: So it was like, we're either going to be in
[2:59] Speaker 3: Boston watching the episode in an Airbnb, or we can
[3:02] Speaker 3: be in the greatest bar.
[3:03] Speaker 2: And thanks to Shannon, the night was a lot more memorable,
[3:08] Speaker 2: a ton of fun. I didn't think that we were
[3:10] Speaker 2: gonna get in, but it turns out Will just has
[3:14] Speaker 2: a way with people.
[3:15] Speaker 3: I guess the Survivor world loves Will.
[3:21] Speaker 4: I call Will the Mayor of Boston now.
[3:24] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, definitely the Mayor of Survivor Boston. If if
[3:29] Speaker 3: I mean, let's just at one point, Jake from forty
[3:32] Speaker 3: seven walks into the bar. First thing he does is
[3:35] Speaker 3: hug Will. Like immediately it was fast boom, hugs, Will
[3:38] Speaker 3: keeps going. What I was in so much shock. I
[3:42] Speaker 3: was in so much shock when I saw him. I
[3:44] Speaker 3: out loud to Jake from forty seven went, it's.
[3:47] Speaker 4: You, classic Chase, classic me. You're like, Jake, it is you,
[3:55] Speaker 4: you are Jake, And.
[3:58] Speaker 3: Well it's you. That was it. Whoa, it's you.
[4:01] Speaker 4: That's incredible. But speaking of a credible.
[4:04] Speaker 2: Will did get a response from Shannon. Shannon was like,
[4:07] Speaker 2: I'd love to do that for you guys. And the
[4:10] Speaker 2: only direction that we had when we got there was
[4:13] Speaker 2: ask for Tony. That's all Shannon said. She's like, get
[4:17] Speaker 2: there and ask for Tony. We get to the bar,
[4:20] Speaker 2: what were like ten minutes early waiting outside, Will walks
[4:24] Speaker 2: right by us, like yeah, he recognized this. At first,
[4:27] Speaker 2: I had to stop him and be like, hey, Will,
[4:30] Speaker 2: You're just gonna walk right by me?
[4:31] Speaker 4: What the heck do I mean?
[4:32] Speaker 3: To be fair, this is not a video podcast.
[4:35] Speaker 4: That's true, but he does follow us on Instagram.
[4:38] Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, at p D.
[4:41] Speaker 2: Bachmann and Chase Bridges if you wanted to do the
[4:43] Speaker 2: same little plug there, not even for.

[5:08] Speaker 3: because at this point we had already been in Boston
[5:10] Speaker 3: for a day and we were having a blast. I
[5:12] Speaker 3: was like, Hey, whatever has happened is what's going to happen.
[5:15] Speaker 2: I mean I had the same like whatever happens is
[5:17] Speaker 2: going to happen attitude, but I was like, I'm gonna
[5:20] Speaker 2: do what I can to make this happen.
[5:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well let's talk about let's talk about that
[5:25] Speaker 3: because this was This was very funny to me.
[5:29] Speaker 4: You tell that part, but we were I walked with Will.
[5:32] Speaker 2: As we were walking up, I turned to Will and said,
[5:35] Speaker 2: we are confident and we belong here.
[5:38] Speaker 3: We walk in. Uh, Will asks the guy at the front, Hey,
[5:43] Speaker 3: I talked to Shannon. He said, to talk to Tony.
[5:46] Speaker 3: He goes, I'm Tony.
[5:48] Speaker 4: Yeah. Perfect.
[5:50] Speaker 3: That was.
[5:51] Speaker 4: I would describe that as like a leadoff double and I.
[5:54] Speaker 3: Get it in a hot start. Funniest thing about this
[5:59] Speaker 3: guy is if I told you to imagine a guy
[6:02] Speaker 3: named Tony who runs a bar in Boston, he looked
[6:07] Speaker 3: exactly like what you're pictureing.
[6:09] Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely, he goes, I'm Tony.
[6:13] Speaker 3: He goes here, let me let me talk to the
[6:15] Speaker 3: So apparently the bar isn't in charge of letting people
[6:18] Speaker 3: up to the Survivor cafe. There is an employee of
[6:21] Speaker 3: CBS there. It's her job to decide who goes up
[6:25] Speaker 3: and stuff like that. We talked to her. She goes,
[6:28] Speaker 3: I've got a lot going on right now. I gotta
[6:30] Speaker 3: ge everybody in. You guys wait over there. While we're
[6:32] Speaker 3: handling this situation, pet is talking to Tony. Now. PD
[6:38] Speaker 3: is like, Tony's like, I think you asked him. I
[6:41] Speaker 3: was like, hey, Shannon could win it all and he
[6:43] Speaker 3: was like, that's our girl. We're wrote with five for five.
[6:46] Speaker 3: You were like, hey, she hasn't been to tribal yet.
[6:48] Speaker 3: I think she can win it all. And he's like,
[6:49] Speaker 3: that's our girl. And Pete goes, hey, that's our girl too.
[6:52] Speaker 3: He goes, you guys are friends with Shannon, and Pete goes,
[6:54] Speaker 3: we love shit.
[6:59] Speaker 2: So after the the leadoff double that I described, that
[7:02] Speaker 2: felt like a home run, like I.
[7:03] Speaker 3: Just knocked in two runs.
[7:06] Speaker 2: Because I just, you know, flipped a switch. And I
[7:09] Speaker 2: was like, I we gotta get in there. So I'm
[7:11] Speaker 2: gonna try to be Tony's best friend for a minute.
[7:13] Speaker 2: The way that I started talking to Tony was what
[7:16] Speaker 2: did I say? I was like, I said, Tony, you're
[7:18] Speaker 2: a lifesaver and he's like, hey, I just I love
[7:21] Speaker 2: Shannon and Uh, if you're a friend of Shannon, you're
[7:24] Speaker 2: a friend of mine something like that.
[7:25] Speaker 4: And I was like, this is perfect.
[7:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was like like he was really rooting
[7:31] Speaker 3: for us with the CBS lady to get us in.
[7:34] Speaker 3: He was like, hey, wait right here, I'll talk to her.
[7:39] Speaker 2: And the funniest part was that he thought we were bloggers.
[7:42] Speaker 2: I think he told me lady that we were bloggers.
[7:45] Speaker 3: There's the bloggers that Shannon emailed about and we were like, yeah,
[7:49] Speaker 3: that's us blogspot doton.
[7:51] Speaker 2: I didn't know there was an email sent to CBS
[7:54] Speaker 2: and apparently she did it.
[7:55] Speaker 4: Like the day of he was like.
[7:57] Speaker 3: Hey, I got some guests come. We were Shannon's guests.
[8:01] Speaker 2: Dude, that's baller, And if you do a favor for me,
[8:07] Speaker 2: I will become your biggest fan, be your biggest cheerleader.
[8:10] Speaker 2: And that's what I demonstrated that night.
[8:12] Speaker 3: That's some foreshattering because PD spent the entire episode in
[8:16] Speaker 3: this bar screaming about how much he loves shit.
[8:20] Speaker 4: That's right.
[8:22] Speaker 2: And then before we got let in, we're waiting off
[8:24] Speaker 2: to the side of the bar for the CBS lady
[8:26] Speaker 2: and I was like, let's wait until she stops looking
[8:29] Speaker 2: busy because she was very busy. And then we sent
[8:32] Speaker 2: Will over. Will and Elizabeth, Chase's wife. Elizabeth was there
[8:37] Speaker 2: with us with us. Yeah, she walks over with Will.
[8:40] Speaker 2: And then it was at that point that Will was
[8:43] Speaker 2: like she still thought we were a blog or something.
[8:45] Speaker 2: And Will was like that the making the Merge podcast.
[8:48] Speaker 2: And then she's like, oh okay, yeah, well.
[8:51] Speaker 3: Immediately puts bracelets on us, takes us upstairs, took care
[8:55] Speaker 3: of us. It was awesome.
[8:57] Speaker 2: I was not expecting that reaction to making the Merge.
[9:01] Speaker 2: I figured she would just be like, Okay, Shannon's friends
[9:04] Speaker 2: come up here. But it seemed like she knew what
[9:06] Speaker 2: making the Merge was, which was shocking.
[9:10] Speaker 3: Yeah, she probably. I thought she would be like who,
[9:13] Speaker 3: I don't care, but no, she was like, oh yeah,
[9:16] Speaker 3: come on.
[9:16] Speaker 4: Yeah, Shane making the Merge podcast this way.
[9:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, she's like, oh, He's like you guys, I know
[9:23] Speaker 3: you guys. You're the guys that kept calling Shannon a
[9:25] Speaker 3: cult leader, right.
[9:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, you were the guys who wanted to interview Saul
[9:29] Speaker 2: in the forty seven off season.
[9:31] Speaker 4: And our company said, no, I.
[9:34] Speaker 3: Don't think we've ever talked about that.
[9:37] Speaker 4: I don't think we have either, but we've had.
[9:38] Speaker 3: So here's what I was saying. Good, Yeah, we had
[9:41] Speaker 3: soul on twice.
[9:42] Speaker 4: You know what I want to say about CBS. I
[9:44] Speaker 4: love it. I love CBS.
[9:45] Speaker 3: I appreciate I appreciate CBS.
[9:47] Speaker 4: Heck yeah, he especially after this night.
[9:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, it was so. It was so sick, dude.
[9:53] Speaker 2: And what I love about an event like that is
[9:56] Speaker 2: that as you're walking up the stairs, you can feel
[9:59] Speaker 2: that energy ship this is happening. It's like going to
[10:02] Speaker 2: a pro wrestling show. When you step through the doors,
[10:05] Speaker 2: it's just you're entered into another world.
[10:08] Speaker 3: And what's super cool about it is like everyone there
[10:11] Speaker 3: loves Survivor, so they're all wearing Survivor buffs. They're you know,
[10:17] Speaker 3: you walk in and it's multiple floors, but on our
[10:21] Speaker 3: floor you walk in, there's the bar, there's a bunch
[10:24] Speaker 3: of screens. There's a big screen that's got the episode.
[10:26] Speaker 3: It's right before the episode starts. They have the some
[10:31] Speaker 3: of the challenges, so people are like in line wrapped
[10:34] Speaker 3: around so that they can try out the Survivor challenges.
[10:36] Speaker 3: They have a little booth that looks like tribal council,
[10:39] Speaker 3: so you can write someone's name down on the parchment
[10:42] Speaker 3: and like take a picture of you voting someone out.
[10:45] Speaker 4: You've got Survivor decorations everywhere, in logo.
[10:47] Speaker 3: Yes, everything, the Survivor logos everywhere. Everything's dressed up like Survivor.
[10:52] Speaker 3: It's You've got a picture on the wall of all
[10:55] Speaker 3: of the Survivor players that have visited have signed it.
[10:59] Speaker 3: You have a winner's wall that has pictures of all
[11:01] Speaker 3: of the winners. It was so sick.
[11:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, I walked in and just immediately felt at home
[11:08] Speaker 2: in that kind of an environment. Also, it was awesome
[11:11] Speaker 2: just because I've never aside from when I watched Survivor
[11:15] Speaker 2: with you and Elizabeth, that was like the most people
[11:17] Speaker 2: I've ever watched Survivor with. Usually I'm alone, I'm screaming
[11:21] Speaker 2: by myself a survivor. To be able to do it
[11:24] Speaker 2: with I don't know one hundred something people who, however
[11:27] Speaker 2: many were packed into that bar, it was such an
[11:29] Speaker 2: awesome experience.
[11:31] Speaker 3: The energy was saying like people were cheering during the episode,
[11:33] Speaker 3: they were booing, which we'll get into. Like it was
[11:38] Speaker 3: everybody was just a Survivor, which is so fun because
[11:40] Speaker 3: usually the only interaction you get while watching Survivor is
[11:44] Speaker 3: an online interaction like on Twitter or whatever, Reddit or
[11:48] Speaker 3: whatever you're you're using and it's mostly negative. This was
[11:52] Speaker 3: a completely positive environment and.
[11:55] Speaker 2: That was so fun, positive for everybody except for Shannon.
[11:58] Speaker 2: But so we talked about getting in there, feeling the energy,
[12:04] Speaker 2: just looking around, being in awe of everything.
[12:07] Speaker 4: Let's talk about the.
[12:08] Speaker 2: Start of the episode, because we got in there like
[12:11] Speaker 2: right around when it started. I immediately go to the bar. Yeah,
[12:17] Speaker 2: I'm just like wedged in between two strangers trying to
[12:19] Speaker 2: get a drink for fifteen minutes.
[12:21] Speaker 4: I eventually got the drink.
[12:23] Speaker 2: But then by the time I get it, I look
[12:26] Speaker 2: over and you're standing at the entrance.
[12:29] Speaker 3: And I'm in the barn. Yeah, it's packed and there,
[12:33] Speaker 3: so I was up front. At one point a guy
[12:37] Speaker 3: was like, Yo, he's way too tall to be standing
[12:39] Speaker 3: up there, and I was like, you know what, that
[12:41] Speaker 3: is very true.
[12:43] Speaker 4: Boston accent man was correct.
[12:46] Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm six' four AND i don't know if you
[12:49] Speaker 3: guys have ever been To. Boston it is not built
[12:52] Speaker 3: for tall.
[12:52] Speaker 2: People SO i get my drink and THEN i end
[12:56] Speaker 2: up just like. SETTLING i found a, CHAIR i found
[12:58] Speaker 2: like my own. CORNER i started making friends with the
[13:01] Speaker 2: people around. Me, yeah that was because they said something
[13:04] Speaker 2: About Riz god and THEN i JUST i turned AND
[13:08] Speaker 2: i was, like you, know he's got a girlfriend and
[13:10] Speaker 2: on TikTok her name Is Liz god and, that and
[13:13] Speaker 2: then you, know then all of a, Sudden i'm friends
[13:15] Speaker 2: with all the people around.
[13:16] Speaker 4: Me that's all it.
[13:17] Speaker 3: Took, yeah, Yeah pete was having a. BLAST i hadn't
[13:20] Speaker 3: seen him in like twenty minutes because it was taken
[13:22] Speaker 3: him forever to get his. Drink, NOW i do want
[13:24] Speaker 3: to point out it's not the bar's fault that it
[13:26] Speaker 3: was taking so long to get the. Drink it was
[13:27] Speaker 3: just that. Packed there's just that many people.
[13:30] Speaker 2: There, yeah every time the bartender would be mixing, ANYTHING
[13:33] Speaker 2: i would just be making eye contact with him with
[13:35] Speaker 2: my wallet. Out one of these times he's gonna talk to.
[13:38] Speaker 3: Me you can get back see it because there's also
[13:41] Speaker 3: a restaurant, element like there's people getting, food there's people at,
[13:44] Speaker 3: tables and then there's the standing, room which is what
[13:47] Speaker 3: we were where we're just hanging out like the.
[13:49] Speaker 2: Bar SO i look, OVER i See chase And, liz
[13:56] Speaker 2: AND i Think will was over there with you.
[13:57] Speaker 4: TOO i was, like, Yeah i'll go over to them.
[13:59] Speaker 4: Again and THEN i. Was AS i was standing, THERE
[14:03] Speaker 4: i was, LIKE i want to be back in my.
[14:05] Speaker 4: Corner SO i just took off.
[14:06] Speaker 2: Again And chase lives in Will over by the, entrance
[14:12] Speaker 2: AND i THINK i had said to, you, like, dude
[14:14] Speaker 2: we can figure it. Out we can fit you in there,
[14:15] Speaker 2: somewhere but you. Didn't it seemed like you just didn't
[14:18] Speaker 2: want to bother.
[14:18] Speaker 4: ANYBODY i don't.
[14:20] Speaker 3: Want to be in the. WAY a lot of people
[14:22] Speaker 3: paid a lot of money to be. There we were,
[14:24] Speaker 3: got we were there for. FREE i didn't want to
[14:27] Speaker 3: hinder anyone's. EXPERIENCE i was fine chilling by the door
[14:30] Speaker 3: with the bouncer because we were both, tall and he
[14:33] Speaker 3: looked at me at one point he was like, oh
[14:35] Speaker 3: AND i was, like, hey, man.
[14:38] Speaker 2: The WAY i am is If i'm going to be
[14:40] Speaker 2: at something like, THAT i want to be in.
[14:42] Speaker 4: The middle of the. Action so, yeah, yeah, YEAH i.
[14:45] Speaker 2: WAS i was having a great time with my vodka
[14:48] Speaker 2: and pineapple juice in the, corner and THEN i get
[14:51] Speaker 2: like halfway through the drink And will is over with
[14:54] Speaker 2: me in the middle of the like the big screen, area,
[14:58] Speaker 2: yea by the. BAR i looked To will AND i was, like,
[15:01] Speaker 2: Man chase he's too. Nice looking at him over, there
[15:04] Speaker 2: he's trying to be out of the. WAY i was, like,
[15:06] Speaker 2: there we can find. Places AND i looked next to.
[15:09] Speaker 2: ME i was, like look, right literally right next to.
[15:11] Speaker 2: Me there's like he could stand. Here it doesn't obstruct.
[15:14] Speaker 2: Anything And i'm like twirling my drink. Around i'm, like
[15:17] Speaker 2: you know, what go Drag chase over. Here tell HIM
[15:20] Speaker 2: i have a spot right next to.
[15:21] Speaker 4: Me And will, did, yeah, no he.
[15:24] Speaker 3: Did he ran, over he, Said, pete he said there's
[15:27] Speaker 3: a spot for twelve. People let's, go and then he
[15:29] Speaker 3: ran back, off and so me And elizabeth. Followed there
[15:32] Speaker 3: was a spot you would find a nice area for
[15:34] Speaker 3: me behind a, pole so that WAY i wasn't in
[15:37] Speaker 3: front of, anybody and we were leaning up on the.
[15:40] Speaker 3: Bar it was awesome and it was way better to
[15:42] Speaker 3: be in the in the thick of it than to
[15:43] Speaker 3: be in the.
[15:44] Speaker 2: Back, yes that's WHY i had to make that. Happen
[15:47] Speaker 2: AND i knew IF i walked over AND i was, Like,
[15:48] Speaker 2: chase come over, here that you might have said no to.
[15:51] Speaker 2: Me SO i was, like you know, what IF i
[15:53] Speaker 2: Tell will to go drag, him it'll probably happen so
[15:56] Speaker 2: fast That chase will just be inclined to Follow.
[15:58] Speaker 3: Will and that's, very very.
[16:01] Speaker 2: True and then as for like watching the episode there and,
[16:04] Speaker 2: everything it was hard to.
[16:05] Speaker 3: Hear it was hard to.
[16:08] Speaker 2: Focus, YEAH i mean me And will would just be
[16:11] Speaker 2: like screaming things, out or like having side conversations or
[16:15] Speaker 2: are the people next to? Me i'd be talking to
[16:17] Speaker 2: them or are You so it was like you couldn't
[16:19] Speaker 2: pick up on all of the, Dialogue like we weren't
[16:23] Speaker 2: listening to every word like we would be if we were.
[16:26] Speaker 4: Watching we.
[16:26] Speaker 3: Hit we got the big beats, though like we saw
[16:28] Speaker 3: The christina stuff where she almost passed. Out we were
[16:32] Speaker 3: we were picking up on the big things because the
[16:34] Speaker 3: whole place was, reacting which was so. Cool so it's
[16:38] Speaker 3: like when something, happened everybody was, like, oh and it's
[16:41] Speaker 3: like what it was just so it was so.
[16:43] Speaker 2: Cool, yeah and you got the The sage moments of,
[16:47] Speaker 2: yeah oh, dude her facial expressions and then the whole
[16:52] Speaker 2: bar was.
[16:52] Speaker 3: Laughing, yeah the bar Loved sage and you know. Who
[17:02] Speaker 3: AND i guess IF i was just watching at, HOME
[17:05] Speaker 3: i wouldn't have figured this. Out BALDY i think has
[17:08] Speaker 3: become the fan favorite of the. Season, yeah every time
[17:12] Speaker 3: she did, something the whole place.
[17:13] Speaker 4: Cheered AND i approved of.
