[0:48] Speaker 1: We don't have our showrunner pd today, we don't have
[0:53] Speaker 1: co network executive Brand, and we don't have the only
[0:57] Speaker 1: voice of reason on the podcast, Christen.

[1:02] Speaker 2: even p D when he was like I don't think
[1:04] Speaker 2: I can make it, there was like some he was
[1:08] Speaker 2: like timid about it. It was like it's like telling
[1:10] Speaker 2: you're leaving the kids home for the first time by themselves.
[1:13] Speaker 1: It's like he was like, hey, Brand, do you think
[1:14] Speaker 1: you could make it? Like they were setting up a
[1:16] Speaker 1: babysitter for us. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:18] Speaker 2: He started calling people and saying, this is how much
[1:21] Speaker 2: I can pay, you know, it's super.
[1:24] Speaker 1: Weird of it.
[1:25] Speaker 2: But here we are, we did it, and the boys
[1:28] Speaker 2: are in the house all alone. We're going to be
[1:31] Speaker 2: throwing a party last two thousands movie style.
[1:35] Speaker 1: You think you could tell us what to do that?
[1:38] Speaker 2: Right, there's he's here at the house party with us.
[1:42] Speaker 2: I'm thinking, what if it was going to be a
[1:44] Speaker 2: house party. I'm thinking, like, uh, you know, kind of
[1:46] Speaker 2: cheaper by the dozen when the parents are out of
[1:49] Speaker 2: the house style, Yeah, or yours mind and ours? You know, sure?
[1:54] Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, just start listing them to to just jump

[2:00] Speaker 1: be the best Survivor contestant old era or New Era

[2:22] Speaker 1: on the Sanctuary. We've got some fun games gonna play
[2:24] Speaker 1: at the end of the episode, but first we're gonna
[2:26] Speaker 1: talk about the reaction to the episode this week. Kind
[2:30] Speaker 1: of a big episode of Survivor this week, just a

[2:54] Speaker 1: big Eva Joe moment and that is really all anyone's
[2:58] Speaker 1: talking about online this week.
[3:00] Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I didn't realize that from the
[3:02] Speaker 2: nine Survivor official page posts about.
[3:05] Speaker 1: It this week. Dude, the official the Survivor on CBS
[3:11] Speaker 1: YouTube channel, that was the first thing that they uploaded,
[3:16] Speaker 1: And dude, it's got almost a million views. That's nuts, man,
[3:22] Speaker 1: to compare to compare, usually they average about two thousand
[3:31] Speaker 1: views to eight thousand views, but they've got seven hundred
[3:36] Speaker 1: and forty eight thousand views on it. It was. It
[3:39] Speaker 1: was hitting like every major major media outlet. It was
[3:43] Speaker 1: hitting news stations like my mom, who doesn't even keep
[3:46] Speaker 1: up with the current seasons, was talking about it. Wow,
[3:49] Speaker 1: what a moment. Because and I was talking to PD
[3:52] Speaker 1: about this this week, I knew while watching the episode, like, oh,
[3:54] Speaker 1: this is gonna be a big moment. Yeah, totally. I
[3:57] Speaker 1: did not realize how big this was going to be.
[4:00] Speaker 2: I guess I didn't know how much it was going
[4:02] Speaker 2: to for lack of a better term, payoff for them. Yeah,
[4:05] Speaker 2: because like, it is a great moment. It's a very
[4:09] Speaker 2: shareable thing. It's very wholesome, you know. It's also kind
[4:13] Speaker 2: of like advocacy as well for people that have autism
[4:17] Speaker 2: or family members that have autism, and so it's like,
[4:19] Speaker 2: you know, very shareable, very heartwarming.
[4:23] Speaker 1: It's just a it's a feel good clip.
[4:25] Speaker 2: It is.
[4:25] Speaker 1: It is a feel good moment, and it's always nice
[4:27] Speaker 1: when you get those, because oftentimes the conversation about Survivor
[4:31] Speaker 1: online very negative. It can be.
[4:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, for the most part, it's people being like I
[4:36] Speaker 2: hate this player, I hate this player, why would you
[4:39] Speaker 2: bring this? I miss the old era.
[4:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate fire making, And it's like, dude, we
[4:44] Speaker 1: are ten weeks away from fire making.
[4:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we got a ways to go before we're do.
[4:49] Speaker 2: But I mean, you know, I'm happy that it's blowing
[4:53] Speaker 2: up the way it is. I do think I do
[4:55] Speaker 2: wonder how long Survivor, you know, CBS, how long, they're
[5:00] Speaker 2: gonna like milk that scene.
[5:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I bet, I bet it's gonna be a
[5:04] Speaker 1: good bit. Yeah. But so that's the thing, kind of
[5:08] Speaker 1: segueing into this next topic, what a great like what
[5:12] Speaker 1: a great season for for something to get such big
[5:15] Speaker 1: mainstream publicity this has been and people I think I
[5:19] Speaker 1: think people this episode really solidified it for people because
[5:21] Speaker 1: Merge will be happening next week. This is so far
[5:25] Speaker 1: been one of the best seasons of Survivors, not yet
[5:28] Speaker 1: get rid of old era versus new era. I'm talking
[5:31] Speaker 1: period of the rest most of the time. And you know,
[5:36] Speaker 1: I've seen a lot of seasons. Almost every single season
[5:39] Speaker 1: usually the game doesn't even really start till after the merge.
[5:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, totally, because it kind of just feels like you're
[5:46] Speaker 2: picking off the people that just wouldn't have a chance.
[5:49] Speaker 2: Where I do feel like that's shifted in the past
[5:51] Speaker 2: two seasons, especially where all of a sudden, I mean,
[5:55] Speaker 2: last season, we saw it like John Lovett was a
[5:57] Speaker 2: good example. Everybody was like John Lovey is gonna make
[6:00] Speaker 2: it far. He's got like the charisma to make it.
[6:04] Speaker 2: Dude is out first first week, first week, He's gone,
[6:08] Speaker 2: and all of us I think we're just like, it's
[6:11] Speaker 2: not like we were massive and love it fans, but
[6:13] Speaker 2: we were like, hey, wait a second, he's kind of
[6:16] Speaker 2: not the guy you expect to go hurry. And we're
[6:18] Speaker 2: just continuing to see that shift where it's just when
[6:22] Speaker 2: you get to the merge, you're like, what a weird thing.
[6:25] Speaker 2: I mean, We've still got Cedric, you know, so, and
[6:28] Speaker 2: that lead that perfectly segues into the next year.
[6:32] Speaker 1: The scenes where is so great for that. The the
[6:35] Speaker 1: vibes on Cedric after this episode have switched vastly so
[6:41] Speaker 1: the entire season so far, and we've been big advocates
[6:44] Speaker 1: and the Cedric does not know what he is doing.
[6:46] Speaker 1: He is from Three out of the five hosts of
[6:52] Speaker 1: this show are from Greenville, which is where Cedric lives.
[6:54] Speaker 1: And we have made it very clear, like, hey, not
[6:57] Speaker 1: the best representation of our city, dude. The tides have
[7:01] Speaker 1: changed for Cedric. This was a post on our Slaze
[7:04] Speaker 1: Survivor this week four days ago. Blank might be the
[7:08] Speaker 1: best Survivor player ever, No way, no way. In a
[7:12] Speaker 1: matter of five episodes, Cedric has literally voted for every
[7:16] Speaker 1: player on his tribe, voted someone out because they didn't
[7:19] Speaker 1: tell him they lost their vote, voted someone out because
[7:22] Speaker 1: they because they lost their vote, keeps a player around
[7:26] Speaker 1: even though he doesn't trust them, is the worst liar,
[7:29] Speaker 1: and somehow also can't throw a ball. Also, he does
[7:33] Speaker 1: not give anything in confessionals at all, and yet somehow
[7:35] Speaker 1: has the game in a choke hold.
[7:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, they're kind of one.
[7:40] Speaker 1: Yeah. I was telling I was telling my dad about
[7:42] Speaker 1: this season, and I was talking about Cedric because he's
[7:45] Speaker 1: from you know, where we live, and I was like,
[7:47] Speaker 1: he makes all the worst decisions. He has sent every
[7:50] Speaker 1: person home. And my dad was listening. He was like,
[7:52] Speaker 1: kind of sounds like he's a great player. We need
[7:55] Speaker 1: your dad on the podcast. After that, it's well, okay.
[7:58] Speaker 2: So I did see a comment on h like a
[8:02] Speaker 2: TikTok about Survivor, you know, and it was basically someone
[8:06] Speaker 2: said Cedric might be the first player to run the
[8:09] Speaker 2: game and not know it. Yeah, no exactly, So like
[8:14] Speaker 2: that feels accurate because it kind of I mean, when
[8:17] Speaker 2: we take a look at the vote where he sent uh,
[8:20] Speaker 2: when he sent pizza home, Yeah, he didn't. He didn't
[8:23] Speaker 2: know that he was going to end up in that
[8:25] Speaker 2: situation and and he kind of crumbled under it then, Yeah,
[8:29] Speaker 2: he didn't know even how to handle the Bianca situation,
[8:33] Speaker 2: which credit where credit is due. P D was right
[8:37] Speaker 2: about he told Chrissy. They they released a clip basically
[8:42] Speaker 2: showing this upcoming week. Yeah, where like I guess they
[8:45] Speaker 2: just didn't film it because it happened so fast. The
[8:48] Speaker 2: way he explained it is, it was like five minutes
[8:51] Speaker 2: before they were going to tribal Beyonca dropped that she
[8:55] Speaker 2: had the idol and or had lost her vote, and
[8:58] Speaker 2: so he he like made a game time to decision
[9:00] Speaker 2: to go tell Chrissy. And what's crazy though, is it worked.
[9:04] Speaker 2: It did work.
[9:05] Speaker 1: At the last second he chose who went home.
[9:09] Speaker 2: Maybe his gut is just good, you know, maybe he
[9:12] Speaker 2: just externally looks panicked, but then just his gut reactions.
[9:16] Speaker 2: It could be the doctor thing, you know, split second
[9:19] Speaker 2: decision making, this is just what I gotta do, and
[9:23] Speaker 2: does it.
[9:24] Speaker 1: He's still in the game. I also wonder if maybe
[9:27] Speaker 1: he just hasn't gotten the best edit. They have so
[9:29] Speaker 1: many great charismatic characters in this season that maybe they're
[9:32] Speaker 1: just like, hey, he I mean, he could be the winner.
[9:35] Speaker 2: He could be He's a good target to make him
[9:38] Speaker 2: look dumb. How about the doctor?
[9:40] Speaker 1: You know, yeah, yeah, but I mean think about it, dude, Like,
[9:45] Speaker 1: out of the characters, and again I call them characters.
[9:48] Speaker 1: I know they're real people. It's just we don't like to,
[9:51] Speaker 1: uh like, when we talk negatively about them. We don't
[9:54] Speaker 1: want to talk negatively about them as people. It's as
[9:56] Speaker 1: Chase looking at me and saying, they're not people. That's
[9:59] Speaker 1: what he said. I whisper, I do the disclaimer that
[10:02] Speaker 1: they're not people. Do remember that these are not people.
[10:05] Speaker 1: And I'm like, we make them dance for our entertainment
[10:08] Speaker 1: in the jungle. But uh, dude, think of the players
[10:14] Speaker 1: that we think of when we think of this season, right,
[10:16] Speaker 1: we see a ton of say we've seen a lot
[10:18] Speaker 1: of Mary, we see a lot of Cedric. But you
[10:21] Speaker 1: don't think about Cedric.
[10:22] Speaker 2: Well, you don't think about how much you're seeing him
[10:25] Speaker 2: because the every time you see him, you're like rolling your.
[10:28] Speaker 1: Eyes, you know.
[10:29] Speaker 2: And it's it's not say you think about every time
[10:31] Speaker 2: you see her because you're almost angry or you're confused
[10:35] Speaker 2: by why is she acting this way? Why is she
[10:38] Speaker 2: saying this? With Cedric, You're just like, that's just Cedric
[10:42] Speaker 2: being Cedric.
[10:43] Speaker 1: And it might be dude, it could be like the
[10:45] Speaker 1: new like Metastrat for winning a season.
[10:48] Speaker 2: Maybe what a wild I mean, he's on my team,
[10:51] Speaker 2: so that would yeah, I mean I have to celebrate him.
[10:54] Speaker 2: You know, they imagine it.
[10:56] Speaker 1: He's from my hometown. I'd have to celebrate too.
[11:00] Speaker 2: Dog on him the whole podcast, so that he wins
[11:02] Speaker 2: the whole thing that he does. The doctor wins a
[11:05] Speaker 2: million dollars.
[11:06] Speaker 1: Dude. Yeah, the guy that needs it most, right, not

[11:10] Speaker 2: His dad's It's not cool. Okay, I want to I.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Want to bring up one more thing, and then we're
[11:15] Speaker 1: gonna get to an email we received this week.
[11:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, but uh, this is about.
[11:20] Speaker 1: The upcoming episode, which at the at the release of
[11:23] Speaker 1: this episode will either be in a day or in
[11:25] Speaker 1: two days Wednesday night upcoming. Uh what was that March
[11:30] Speaker 1: the thirty third.
[11:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the one aa April second.
[11:37] Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, April fools.
[11:38] Speaker 2: Dog, I got your old he's a few hours early.
[11:42] Speaker 1: So it seems like this season is following the same
[11:47] Speaker 1: kind of scheduling as Survivor forty six. Forty seven was
[11:51] Speaker 1: thrown off because of the presidential debates and stuff. Yeah, yeah,
[11:55] Speaker 1: but it from what it seems, we're probably gonna get
[11:59] Speaker 1: a double elimination this Wednesday, I saw you and PD
[12:03] Speaker 1: Holm I said, going on about it like your.
[12:08] Speaker 3: Run y'all's mouth, going on about a double elimination again.
[12:13] Speaker 3: Uh no, talking about it in the chat for a second,
[12:18] Speaker 3: and I hadn't thought about it.
[12:20] Speaker 2: And that's gonna suck if that's true. So intense the
[12:23] Speaker 2: whole time.
[12:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, and this is the perfect time to give a
[12:25] Speaker 1: quick update on all of our draft teams, right, so
[12:28] Speaker 1: do it. As a reminder, Jonathan and Christen are on
[12:31] Speaker 1: the same team. You're the team, right. You guys are
[12:35] Speaker 1: the only team who still has all four of their.
[12:38] Speaker 2: Players, including the one that I went Rogan picked Charity, which, yeah,
[12:44] Speaker 2: we can't talk about what happened this week with her,
[12:46] Speaker 2: but we want to. Yeah we Yeah, we won't.
[12:52] Speaker 1: PD gave me explicit instructions to not talk about. But
[12:59] Speaker 1: so you guys have all four of your players. You
[13:02] Speaker 1: have Joe, Kyle, Charity and Cedric Yep Brand has Shaheen
[13:09] Speaker 1: Say and David. He lost Justin so he's down to three.
[13:13] Speaker 1: PD is also down to three Camilla, Eva and Star.
[13:18] Speaker 1: He lost Bianca last week. And I am also down
[13:21] Speaker 1: to three. I have Mary, Chrissy and Mitch. I lost Thomas.
[13:25] Speaker 2: It's still civil playing field, though it is. This is
[13:28] Speaker 2: anybody's game.
[13:29] Speaker 1: Until this double elimination is exactly because this is either
[13:33] Speaker 1: going to it could even the playing field or like
[13:37] Speaker 1: kind of you know, one person ends up with two
[13:39] Speaker 1: where with three, or I mean someone can get their
[13:43] Speaker 1: whole team decimated. I mean we could.
[13:46] Speaker 2: We could lose half our team that we've held strong
[13:49] Speaker 2: with that one of y'all could get down to one
[13:52] Speaker 2: player this week, which would be crazy with with the
[13:56] Speaker 2: amount of weeks left of this season, if you've got
[13:58] Speaker 2: one player left? Yeah, yeah, can we because we actually
[14:02] Speaker 2: fire you from the podcast? Yeah yeah, this would be crazy.
[14:07] Speaker 2: Now it would it make for a good listening experience, absolutely,
[14:12] Speaker 2: but what I wish wish it on my worst enemy.

[14:22] Speaker 1: one to listen to because I mean, there's no telling

[14:28] Speaker 2: Cedric goes home and then yeah then one.
[14:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree with you, though, I mean I
[14:35] Speaker 1: think the best case just for like everyone is you
[14:38] Speaker 1: guys lose one, maybe someone else loses one, and then
[14:42] Speaker 1: it's mostly tied up. Yeah, someone loses someone loses it
[14:49] Speaker 1: and they only have one player left. But uh yeah,
[14:51] Speaker 1: so that's gonna be crazy. But we did get an
[14:53] Speaker 1: email this week, but Jonathan's gonna read.
[14:55] Speaker 2: We got an email from Matt which, ironically or I
[14:59] Speaker 2: don't know, this could be my cousin Chase because he
[15:02] Speaker 2: has the same first and last name and so as
[15:06] Speaker 2: an actual cousin of mine. And it says letter from
[15:09] Speaker 2: a loved one, So once again.
[15:11] Speaker 1: Could still be my family. He says, I have a
[15:14] Speaker 1: question for you guys.
[15:15] Speaker 2: I believe there are three players that their story and
[15:19] Speaker 2: or likability make them big threats and they should not
[15:22] Speaker 2: make it to the end. But what if all three,
[15:26] Speaker 2: meaning Joe, Eva, and Mitch yes are the final three?
[15:32] Speaker 2: Who do you think takes it or who do you
[15:33] Speaker 2: think wins?
[15:35] Speaker 1: I think out of those three, and Mitch is on
[15:37] Speaker 1: my team. Yeah, so I am biased, but I think
[15:41] Speaker 1: it goes to Eva or Joe, probably Joe.
[15:43] Speaker 2: Okay, I think Joe and Eva are are definitely top contenders.
[15:49] Speaker 2: None of them feel like they would be a no
[15:51] Speaker 2: vote though, But it is weird how it plays out.
[15:54] Speaker 1: You know, got to see how the second half of
[15:55] Speaker 1: the season.
[15:58] Speaker 2: But if all three of them make get man, I
[16:01] Speaker 2: can see Joe winning it.
[16:04] Speaker 1: I can't too, because we brought this up a lot
[16:07] Speaker 1: in the preseason episode. But it's like the past three
[16:11] Speaker 1: winners have been women. Yeah, statistically, I think it's if
[16:15] Speaker 1: it's a fifty, it's tough for the Fellas to take
[16:18] Speaker 1: back survival.
[16:19] Speaker 4: Okayboddy say, Fellas, you think you could tell us what
[16:25] Speaker 4: to do. I love that people are here for Survivor
[16:30] Speaker 4: but instead getting a lot of friends.
[16:36] Speaker 2: PD's like, how much am I having to edit out

[17:30] Speaker 2: help her, and.

[43:24] Speaker 2: survivor's story, dude, Like that is your arc.
[43:27] Speaker 1: You go out there and you talk about how terrified
[43:29] Speaker 1: you are of the water, and at the end you
[43:31] Speaker 1: win the game. You win final immunity in a water challenge.
