John, Sam, Stevie, and special guest Caroline Wozniacki react to one of the biggest upsets EVER at a Major, as Jannik Sinner completely collapses from 6-3, 6-2, 5-1 up against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the Paris heat. The boys debate the controversial mid match timeout and whether heat might genuinely be Sinner’s biggest weakness, leading to a full discussion on genetics, body cooling, acclimation, and what he may need to change long term to survive brutal Slam conditions. Elsewhere at French Open, Frances Tiafoe survives Hubert Hurkacz in five and celebrates by ripping the shirt off, Moise Kouame turns Lenglen into complete chaos, and Jakub Menšík wins a 13-11 fifth set breaker while cramping so badly he leaves the court in a wheelchair. Plus: João Fonseca’s comeback, Novak Djokovic keeping the “25” dream alive, and the Alejandro Davidovich Fokina coaching split becoming the messiest storyline in Paris. On the women’s side, Elena Rybakina suffers the biggest upset of Round 2, Serena Williams comeback rumors start flying again, and the crew closes with Round 3 predictions, bracket standings, and a looming punishment for whoever finishes last. 00:00 Welcome Back! 00:21 Sinner Shocking Collapse 01:33 Wozniacki Joins Desk 02:42 Heat + Cramps Debate 06:20 Upset Magnitude Talk 09:29 Kouame and Teens Breakthrough 11:53 Tiafoe Outlasts Hurkacz 14:05 Other Results 15:09 Mensik Marathon Cramping 16:04 Fokina Coaching Drama 17:55 Rybakina Shock Upset 19:46 Baptiste Dramatic Injury 23:09 Serena Comeback Rumors 27:13 Round 3 Predictions 28:24 Bracket Update And Goodbye! [0:00] Speaker 1: All right, everyone, welcome back to Something Major. We're here
[0:02] Speaker 1: to recap round two of Roland Garros. Let's get into it. Jack, John, Stevie,
[0:09] Speaker 1: and Sam got close a few times, never won a slam,
[0:12] Speaker 1: nothing major. All right, welcome back. We got Stevie live
[0:15] Speaker 1: from LA. John and I are in Paris. Charlie Fox,
[0:19] Speaker 1: the team at SIFT. What a day. What a day
[0:22] Speaker 1: of tennis in Paris. I mean, all right, we're going
[0:25] Speaker 1: to start with Sinner, okay? Why?
[0:27] Speaker 2: What happened?
[0:27] Speaker 1: Everyone saw the world saw the match. I'm going to
[0:30] Speaker 1: break it down real quick on the events of what
[0:32] Speaker 1: happened on Best I Think. Guys, correct me if I'm wrong,
[0:36] Speaker 1: and then we'll react. Sinner was up 6-3, 6-2... 5-1
[0:41] Speaker 1: against the bad Cerundolo, Juan Manuel Cerundolo. He will always
[0:44] Speaker 1: be the bad Cerundolo until he overtakes his brother. No,
[0:47] Speaker 1: not anymore. He still is until he overtakes his brother, dude.
[0:49] Speaker 1: If he overtakes his brother, then his brother's the bad Cerundolo.
[0:52] Speaker 2: Has Francisco ever beaten Sinner off of a 30-match win streak?
[0:56] Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. So 5-1 in the
[0:59] Speaker 1: third set. Then it's 5-2. Then it's 5-3. That's when
[1:03] Speaker 1: the cramps started for Sinner. Sinner then- You actually said
[1:06] Speaker 1: to me. You said to me. We were watching because
[1:08] Speaker 1: we hurried over to do it.
[1:10] Speaker 3: Like at 3-0 in the third going to do a
[1:12] Speaker 3: tv piece and then he got broken at 5-2 and
[1:15] Speaker 3: you're like he just got broken at love yeah and
[1:18] Speaker 3: i'm like oh that's weird and you know you can
[1:20] Speaker 3: see him starting to cramp up you know it's going
[1:22] Speaker 3: yeah so then he's serving for the match 5-4 go
[1:25] Speaker 3: down goes down love 40 that's when the cramps are
[1:28] Speaker 3: bad umpire gets out of the chair right comes down.
[1:31] Speaker 1: Are you joining right now Oh my, we have a
[1:33] Speaker 1: special guest. Another special guest. Oh my God, here, you
[1:35] Speaker 1: want to just get in the middle.
[1:36] Speaker 2: How lucky are you guys?
[1:38] Speaker 1: Caroline's here. Caroline's here. Hey, Woes. You know, giving us
[1:42] Speaker 1: great things. We're like baby couches in here. We're like
[1:47] Speaker 1: dwarfing you right now.
[1:49] Speaker 2: It's a Europe couch, you know, they're all small.
[1:50] Speaker 1: Okay, so Sinner's serving 5-4, love 40, that's when the
[1:54] Speaker 1: cramps start. Umpire comes down out of the chair. Sinner
[1:58] Speaker 1: kind of is like, look, I'm dehydrated, I'm cramping. She
[2:00] Speaker 1: talks to him for a few minutes, is like, You
[2:02] Speaker 1: can take a time penalty. We can call the trainer.
[2:05] Speaker 1: Ultimately what happens is he leaves the court for about
[2:07] Speaker 1: 10 minutes, not for cramps. He said he had a
[2:11] Speaker 1: headache or something. I know before you racked CV, but
[2:14] Speaker 1: it's crazy. You can legally leave the court if you
[2:17] Speaker 1: have dizziness or something, because if something happens, if you
[2:21] Speaker 1: say you have dizziness and that you can't leave the
[2:22] Speaker 1: court and something happens, you're like liable for something. We
[2:25] Speaker 1: all know it was cramping, right? Leaves the court, comes
[2:28] Speaker 1: back out, loses that set. And then from that point forward, cramping,
[2:32] Speaker 1: Couldn't overcome it. Juan Manuel Cerundolo takes him out 7-5.
[2:37] Speaker 1: The bad Cerundolo beats him 7-5, 6-1, 6-1 in just
[2:41] Speaker 1: an absolutely crazy match. Stevie, I'll let you react first
[2:44] Speaker 1: to that. I'm sure you were watching from home.
[2:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, just crazy. But I think it's the first time
[2:49] Speaker 2: that he's kind of gotten called out for maybe some
[2:52] Speaker 2: favorable treatment. Currier was pretty adamant. This is not fair,
[2:55] Speaker 2: what he's getting. And he's completely right. You don't get time.
[2:59] Speaker 2: You don't get that kind of treatment for anybody else
[3:02] Speaker 2: for like the cramping. So I felt like he got, again,
[3:04] Speaker 2: a little bit of special treatment today. It didn't help obviously,
[3:07] Speaker 2: but I felt as if they were kind of playing
[3:11] Speaker 2: it up. Like he was playing first. He's not scared
[3:13] Speaker 2: of the heat. You know, Cahill talked about it a
[3:15] Speaker 2: little bit. Even, you know, Sinner had talked about, he's
[3:17] Speaker 2: not worried about the heat. I think that was all
[3:19] Speaker 2: a bit of a facade. Like he should be worried
[3:21] Speaker 2: about the heat. Like he, this is a pattern now
[3:23] Speaker 2: where it's becoming an issue and, For a guy that
[3:25] Speaker 2: has accomplished more than just about any other human on
[3:28] Speaker 2: planet Earth, that's like a one glaring weakness in his game.
[3:32] Speaker 2: And it's crazy to see. I mean, he was rolling today. Like,
[3:35] Speaker 2: there was no issues. No issues.
[3:37] Speaker 4: None.
[3:37] Speaker 1: 6-3, 6-2, 5-1. Caroline, what center have to, like, this
[3:41] Speaker 1: is a big issue. Like, is there a wafer? They
[3:43] Speaker 1: obviously are, they know it's an issue. They've got to
[3:46] Speaker 1: figure out what to do. It's mental.
[3:47] Speaker 2: It's mental.
[3:48] Speaker 1: I don't think it's mental. John thinks it's genetic. Do
[3:51] Speaker 1: you think?
[3:52] Speaker 3: I think it's a white.
[3:53] Speaker 1: I agree with you. I don't think it's mental.
[3:58] Speaker 3: John thinks it's genetic. It's what I said too, but
[4:00] Speaker 3: just the way you said it.
[4:01] Speaker 2: He said this in Australia as well. He's wrong. He's
[4:03] Speaker 2: not wrong.
[4:04] Speaker 1: Caroline, do you think there's like a way to get
[4:06] Speaker 1: over this? Or that just like might just be in
[4:08] Speaker 1: his DNA and he's got to deal with it for
[4:09] Speaker 1: the next decade.
[4:10] Speaker 4: I honestly think it may be in his DNA. I
[4:12] Speaker 4: do think that, I do think, I do think that
[4:14] Speaker 4: there's a way to get a little bit better and,
[4:17] Speaker 4: get more tolerance. I never liked playing in the heat.
[4:19] Speaker 4: I think that's, I grew up playing more indoors. And
[4:22] Speaker 4: when we did play outdoors, it was pretty cold. So
[4:25] Speaker 4: for me going to Australia, even in the best year
[4:27] Speaker 4: of my life, I felt like it was hitting my
[4:29] Speaker 4: head straight away. But when you practice kind of in
[4:33] Speaker 4: the heat in the middle of the day, maybe he
[4:34] Speaker 4: should do that more. I know you need recovery too,
[4:37] Speaker 4: but maybe that's the way that you can kind of
[4:40] Speaker 4: teach your body that you need to be able to perform.
[4:45] Speaker 1: You gotta perform.
[4:46] Speaker 4: You gotta perform even when it's 90 degrees and humid
[4:50] Speaker 4: out there.
[4:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, I also think he gets crazy anxiety. Like when
[4:53] Speaker 1: he gets heat, he gets on his head. John, your theory,
[4:57] Speaker 1: which I also agree with.
[4:59] Speaker 3: I just think his body doesn't have the mechanism to
[5:02] Speaker 3: cool down as well as other players.
[5:07] Speaker 4: You know how you go into surgery and they say, oh,
[5:10] Speaker 4: it's a redhead, you need more morphine?
[5:13] Speaker 3: No.
[5:13] Speaker 1: You don't know that? No. Are you making this up?
[5:15] Speaker 1: That's true. I've never heard that in my life. That's unbelievable.
[5:18] Speaker 1: What are you talking about? But go on. You're helping
[5:21] Speaker 1: my point here.
[5:21] Speaker 2: We'll believe anything.
[5:22] Speaker 4: So if you are going on anesthesia, any redhead, you
[5:27] Speaker 4: have to have more morphine because otherwise it's just not,
[5:30] Speaker 4: they're literally like Putting so many drugs in you to
[5:33] Speaker 4: be able to do the same as you would for
[5:35] Speaker 4: any other person. Yeah, so I think I've... I think
[5:37] Speaker 4: you've uncovered the truth.
[5:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. I don't know, but I really... It's
[5:43] Speaker 1: not like he's not preparing well, right, Stevie?
[5:45] Speaker 2: Dude, he is a physical freak. Like, he's fine.
[5:47] Speaker 4: Exactly.
[5:48] Speaker 1: He obviously is getting enough rest. He's hydrating well. He's
[5:51] Speaker 1: doing all this stuff.
[5:52] Speaker 3: He did say he woke up, right, in his post-match
[5:55] Speaker 3: press conference that he was just feeling a little off.
[5:59] Speaker 3: And he was not blaming it on the weather. He said, eh,
[6:01] Speaker 3: it wasn't so bad out there, but I just felt
[6:03] Speaker 3: a little off today. But we've seen this. It's reared
[6:07] Speaker 3: its ugly head for him. Specifically, huge term at Shanghai.
[6:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[6:13] Speaker 3: Australia, the roof closing when the wet bulb hit the whatever.
[6:17] Speaker 3: He got to close the roof there and now here. Stevie,
[6:20] Speaker 3: is this the biggest upset of all time in tennis?
[6:23] Speaker 3: He was a 99% chance to win on the count.
[6:26] Speaker 4: Of all time?
[6:28] Speaker 1: All the time. I think so. Given the scoreline.
[6:31] Speaker 4: Okay, okay. Given the scoreline, yes.
[6:33] Speaker 1: Given the scoreline, yes. But also, could be. It also
[6:36] Speaker 1: could be.
[6:37] Speaker 2: Given the scoreline, it's probably the biggest comeback odds-wise.
[6:41] Speaker 1: He was a 98% chance to win before the match started.
[6:44] Speaker 1: I still would have.
[6:44] Speaker 4: Given that to Rafa when he lost to Söderling, and
[6:47] Speaker 4: he hadn't lost a match here in like 100 years.
[6:49] Speaker 3: But Söderling was like five in the world. Yeah, Söderling
[6:52] Speaker 3: was good. Yeah, that's where I'm at.
[6:54] Speaker 2: Until he goes out in the summer U.S., or I
[6:57] Speaker 2: don't know, the next time it's going to be hot
[6:59] Speaker 2: and proves that he can outlast somebody. This is the
[7:01] Speaker 2: only thing that the players have in the locker room
[7:04] Speaker 2: now is like, maybe it'll be hot and maybe I
[7:06] Speaker 2: can outlast him. I can't beat him in tennis. I
[7:08] Speaker 2: can't beat him straight up.
[7:09] Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. Yeah.
[7:11] Speaker 2: This is the only chink in the armor for Sinner
[7:13] Speaker 2: at the moment. And it's only, you know, guys now
[7:16] Speaker 2: believe that they can do it. They've seen Spaziri do
[7:18] Speaker 2: it and Cerundola. We're not just seeing, you know, Carlos
[7:20] Speaker 2: do it or Zverev, like the top rank guys, like
[7:23] Speaker 2: the lower rank guys are getting to him in the heat. So,
[7:25] Speaker 2: you know, I guess that's the only chance that you have.
[7:28] Speaker 2: Because no one else seems that they can do it.
[7:30] Speaker 3: But also, and Caroline, would you and Stevie, would you
[7:33] Speaker 3: agree that like Cerundolo, he's probably like the exact opposite
[7:38] Speaker 3: guy with how the moon ball is, the heavy topspin
[7:41] Speaker 3: he is. And he did such a good job of
[7:43] Speaker 3: playing when he knew that, you know how it is
[7:45] Speaker 3: when your opponent's hurt or cramping or whatever.
[7:48] Speaker 1: It's hard to... keep up with your game.
[7:50] Speaker 2: It's hard.
[7:50] Speaker 3: He never batted an eye and he made him play
[7:53] Speaker 3: so many balls. It was like almost evil out there,
[7:56] Speaker 3: but it was the right thing to do.
[7:57] Speaker 4: Imagine the panic he had going on inside. Like he
[8:00] Speaker 4: couldn't show it obviously, but you were like, Oh my gosh,
[8:03] Speaker 4: I actually have a chance here to be at center
[8:05] Speaker 4: all of a sudden. I mean, there's no doubt that
[8:09] Speaker 4: he was stressing. His heart rate was like at 180
[8:12] Speaker 4: at all time. And then when he actually got close
[8:14] Speaker 4: and into that fifth set, I think the first few
[8:17] Speaker 4: games there, he was just like, I'm not going to miss.
[8:19] Speaker 4: I just have to keep making him run. But still,
[8:22] Speaker 4: you just feel like you can't breathe, right?
[8:24] Speaker 3: He felt like absolutely. But even though, like, what did
[8:27] Speaker 3: y'all think even after the third set?
[8:28] Speaker 1: Did y'all think Cinder was going to find a way?
[8:30] Speaker 4: I thought he was going to, like, chill for the
[8:31] Speaker 4: fourth set. I thought he was going to go into the,
[8:34] Speaker 4: you know, locker room, cool off for, like, five minutes.
[8:37] Speaker 4: And then I thought maybe he can put some scoreboard
[8:39] Speaker 4: pressure on.
[8:40] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[8:41] Speaker 2: Honestly, I thought he was going after, just like Wo said,
[8:43] Speaker 2: that fourth set, take every time violation you can. 25 seconds.
[8:48] Speaker 2: You could have Close to 30 minutes of just– you
[8:50] Speaker 2: could sit there and drink during the points. You could
[8:53] Speaker 2: just take time violations, take point after point, maybe try
[8:56] Speaker 2: and win the fifth, but crazy. That's the only thought
[9:00] Speaker 2: that I had if he had a chance.
[9:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. Let's move on. It was wild because
[9:04] Speaker 1: we got other.
[9:05] Speaker 2: How happy are the rest of the men's field?
[9:07] Speaker 1: No one's talking about it. Yeah.
[9:08] Speaker 3: Because the pressure is on. It can make people completely
[9:12] Speaker 3: tighten up.
[9:13] Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. About– Real quick.
[9:16] Speaker 3: Just how big of a– If you put $ 100 on
[9:19] Speaker 3: Cerundolo at 636251 to win the match, that would have returned.
[9:24] Speaker 1: You'd have $ 1 trillion. $ 100 grand. Anyways.
[9:27] Speaker 4: Wow.
[9:27] Speaker 2: That's crazy.
[9:28] Speaker 1: Crazy. All right. About an hour after that, Moise Kiwame,
[9:34] Speaker 1: 17-year-old French kid. He's a kid. He's a 17-year-old. Took
[9:37] Speaker 1: out Vallejo. Hold on. I got one. All right. Takes
[9:43] Speaker 1: out Vallejo. Okay. Vallejo served for the match in the fifth.
[9:49] Speaker 1: This is a back and forth. It was like four hours,
[9:52] Speaker 1: 45 minutes. Vallejo serves for the match in the fifth, 5-3,
[9:57] Speaker 1: ultimately goes to a fifth set tiebreaker. Guame wins it.
[10:01] Speaker 1: This kid is a superstar. They were on Langland. It
[10:04] Speaker 1: was sold out. Our studio, the grassy area behind us,
[10:08] Speaker 1: the most crowded it's ever been. He then came to
[10:11] Speaker 1: the desk with us a couple hours ago. Greatest personality ever.
[10:16] Speaker 1: Were you surprised, Caroline, that he's 17 years old that
[10:18] Speaker 1: he was able to last four hours and 53 minutes
[10:23] Speaker 1: or just he's strong enough.
[10:25] Speaker 4: No, I mean, I think the first time you play
[10:28] Speaker 4: a five setter like that in so many hours, I just,
[10:31] Speaker 4: I don't think you know what you're capable of. It's
[10:34] Speaker 4: going to be interesting to see how he also wakes
[10:35] Speaker 4: up tomorrow. I mean, he may not be able to walk.
[10:38] Speaker 4: Who knows? I was surprised that he was able to
[10:41] Speaker 4: hit a 138 mile an hour serve in the tiebreaker
[10:44] Speaker 4: there when he really needed it. I mean, how many
[10:46] Speaker 4: 17 year olds can do that?
[10:48] Speaker 1: We're watching the match early in the tiebreaker and he
[10:51] Speaker 1: hits like a couple serves. And I look at John,
[10:52] Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know if it serves that good.
[10:54] Speaker 1: And then the next point he goes 138 T like,
[10:57] Speaker 1: you know, seven, four, five, nevermind. Uh, Stevie, did you
[11:02] Speaker 1: watch that tiebreaker? I mean, we lose Arthur fees. Like
[11:06] Speaker 1: center goes down, Carlos goes down and the men's, tennis
[11:09] Speaker 1: right now is like the gift that keeps on giving
[11:11] Speaker 1: with like young teenage sensations.
[11:14] Speaker 2: You're going to set it on Monday show or Tuesday show.
[11:15] Speaker 2: You'll say it again today. You know, it's pretty amazing.
[11:18] Speaker 2: Like he was up five, one. I thought he was
[11:19] Speaker 2: going to run through that breaker. Then he got really nervous.
[11:22] Speaker 2: It felt like, but then he finished it. I was down,
[11:24] Speaker 2: I think seven, six, then hit like two massive serves
[11:27] Speaker 2: and just closed the door. I was like, this kid
[11:30] Speaker 2: like is here to stay. It was super impressive. Funny
[11:33] Speaker 2: to see a gasket just in the box, like getting
[11:35] Speaker 2: fired up, you know, with him there, like helping it's like,
[11:39] Speaker 2: It helps to have that experience out there, but this
[11:41] Speaker 2: kid is electric. We haven't heard much of him since Miami,
[11:45] Speaker 2: but he's making his presence known here. And he looks
[11:49] Speaker 2: like he's here to stay.
[11:50] Speaker 1: And beloved by the French crowd here. And then an
[11:54] Speaker 1: hour after that, it was Francis Tiafoe taking out Hubie Hercotch.
[12:00] Speaker 1: Did Hubie serve? No, Francis served for the match, maybe?
[12:03] Speaker 2: I don't know. You're an analyst.
[12:05] Speaker 1: At some point. I don't know the scores in front
[12:07] Speaker 1: of me. No, no, no. Francis served for the match
[12:08] Speaker 1: at 5-4 in the fourth match. Francis served for the
[12:10] Speaker 1: match at 5-4 in the fourth. Ultimately, Francis wins that
[12:14] Speaker 1: match at 7-5 in the fifth. 6-4 in the fifth.
[12:19] Speaker 1: Did you see his celebration, Stevie?
[12:21] Speaker 2: Dude, it's the kid.
[12:22] Speaker 1: The best celebration I've maybe ever seen in tennis. Can
[12:25] Speaker 1: you guys think of a better one?
[12:27] Speaker 4: No, I mean, if I had an eight pack, I
[12:29] Speaker 4: would be taking my shirt off.
[12:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly. He's got a great core. Yeah, he's
[12:32] Speaker 1: got a great core.
[12:33] Speaker 2: He's got a great core.
[12:35] Speaker 1: Phenomenal core. Yeah, I've always said he does. I don't
[12:38] Speaker 1: feel like he does more core work. Well, maybe when
[12:40] Speaker 1: we were playing than anyone else. He's got a great core. Yeah.
[12:44] Speaker 2: But it's also important that he's got Mark Kovacs with
[12:46] Speaker 2: him this year. He's lost a lot of weight. And
[12:48] Speaker 2: he's healthy. He's fit. Usually, you don't plan on Francis
[12:51] Speaker 2: outlasting guys at five sets. And that's what he did today.
[12:54] Speaker 2: which is like a huge step in the right direction
[12:55] Speaker 2: for him.
[12:56] Speaker 4: I did feel bad for Hubie Horcats, though. He's been
[12:58] Speaker 4: battling injuries and he's coming back and he's so nice.
[13:01] Speaker 4: And you just feel like he's playing great tennis. He
[13:04] Speaker 4: just needs that last little push to have a result that,
[13:09] Speaker 4: you know, gets him going a little bit more again.
[13:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. But not that anyone cares.
[13:14] Speaker 5: No, we care.
[13:15] Speaker 1: We care. He was a great guy.
[13:16] Speaker 3: But Francis, you know, it was a huge win. I mean,
[13:20] Speaker 3: and especially coming back like he did. you know, not
[13:23] Speaker 3: closing out in four sets. And he said actually on
[13:25] Speaker 3: our set that he kind of intentionally took a little
[13:28] Speaker 3: extra time to change his clothes after the four set,
[13:31] Speaker 3: which was smart.
[13:31] Speaker 1: Yeah. Totally smart.
[13:32] Speaker 3: But now he's got a good draw. He plays a
[13:34] Speaker 3: qualifier from Portugal next.
[13:36] Speaker 1: That part of the draw, there's a couple of parts
[13:39] Speaker 1: of the draw. The whole top half of the draw.
[13:41] Speaker 3: The whole top half of the draw is, is, uh, Yeah,
[13:45] Speaker 3: we've got my boy Koman Sanya trying to, I mean, like.
[13:48] Speaker 1: Dude, we said Koman Sanya and Dardiri are at 4-3
[13:50] Speaker 1: in the fifth. Before this match started, we were like,
[13:52] Speaker 1: this is going to be a war.
[13:53] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[13:53] Speaker 4: Say his name again.
[13:54] Speaker 1: Koman Sanya. Okay.
[13:56] Speaker 4: I said Koman Dardiri.
[13:57] Speaker 1: I added in the next for in, didn't I?
[13:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry about that.
[14:00] Speaker 2: We're not good on pronunciations here, Woz. Very bad.
[14:03] Speaker 1: No, we're not. We're not. Yeah. But on the min side,
[14:06] Speaker 1: but that's... Wait, like... Today, I mean, those are the
[14:10] Speaker 1: three storylines. Yeah, those are the other matches. We'll gloss
[14:13] Speaker 1: over them real quick.
[14:14] Speaker 2: You had Fonseca two sets down, come back and win.
[14:17] Speaker 1: Fonseca two sets down against Prismich, who's a young stud.
[14:20] Speaker 1: Zverev wins easy. Djokovic tested a little bit, but he wins.
[14:23] Speaker 1: Felix wins. Kobaly, what were the other? Kasparud came back
[14:28] Speaker 1: from the dead to win his second round match easily.
[14:31] Speaker 1: He plays Tommy Paul now, and Tommy Paul won easily. Oh, dude,
[14:35] Speaker 1: the other one. Menchique.
[14:37] Speaker 2: He died out there as well.
[14:38] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
[14:38] Speaker 1: That could have been the match of the tournament.
[14:40] Speaker 3: I'm just thinking today.
[14:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you're right. Remember yesterday at majors, John,
[14:45] Speaker 1: rounds are over two days. Yes, that's true. Yes, they're
[14:47] Speaker 1: over two days. Menchique wins. Don't hate.
[14:52] Speaker 2: Why is Woes in the middle of your two bickering? Like,
[14:54] Speaker 2: come on. She's here. Let's keep it together here today, boys.
[14:57] Speaker 1: He's mad I interrupted him a few times. Yeah.
[15:00] Speaker 2: But can we go back to center for a second?
[15:02] Speaker 2: Or no?
[15:03] Speaker 1: You want to go back to center now?
[15:04] Speaker 2: If you want to go back to center.
[15:05] Speaker 1: I don't want to go back to center.
[15:06] Speaker 2: I figured.
[15:07] Speaker 1: No, I'm good. You go ahead. All right. Menchique wins
[15:10] Speaker 1: 13-11 in a fifth set tiebreaker. That match was crazy.
[15:14] Speaker 1: The craziest thing... He's cramping the entire last 30 minutes.
[15:17] Speaker 1: That's our match point.
[15:20] Speaker 3: He.
[15:20] Speaker 1: shouldn't have fallen to the ground. John, you mentioned this.
[15:23] Speaker 1: He wins the point, falls to the ground, and you
[15:24] Speaker 1: know what it's like. Caroline, you know what it's like.
[15:27] Speaker 1: You've had one of the most viral cramping moments you've
[15:29] Speaker 1: ever seen in Doha a long time ago. When you
[15:31] Speaker 1: fall to the ground and you're cramping, you can't get up.
[15:34] Speaker 4: You can't get up. So he was kind of laying there,
[15:37] Speaker 4: and then he was trying to get up, but then
[15:39] Speaker 4: he was trying to activate his core to get up.
[15:41] Speaker 4: I go, that's a rookie mistake. You've got to turn
[15:45] Speaker 4: and then pull yourself up. But also, Domper was like,
[15:49] Speaker 4: You can't get help. The match is done. Why are
[15:51] Speaker 4: you telling his team they can't help him? That's ridiculous.
[15:54] Speaker 1: That was a wild moment, though. He got wheelchaired off.
[15:57] Speaker 1: And then, like, the ball came. And someone told the ball, like,
[16:00] Speaker 1: to not give him shade. Remember that with the umbrella?
[16:03] Speaker 1: It was nuts. French or wild. One other thing on
[16:06] Speaker 1: the men's side. Tiarante beat Alejandro Davidich-Volkina. We don't care
[16:10] Speaker 1: about that. What we care about is the coaching drama
[16:13] Speaker 1: with Alejandro Davidich-Volkina. His coach, Mariano Puerta, Stevie, take us
[16:17] Speaker 1: through this. through what happened former finalists here with the
[16:20] Speaker 1: coaching issue with them with.
[16:22] Speaker 2: Them yeah i guess there was some some rumblings and
[16:26] Speaker 2: basically between first and second round like mariano puerto just
[16:29] Speaker 2: left i guess nobody i mean from where i am
[16:32] Speaker 2: in the states like i'm just getting what's on you
[16:34] Speaker 2: know instagram and twitter and stuff you know david vichokina
[16:36] Speaker 2: basically says like yeah like i have my big first
[16:38] Speaker 2: round match like my coach just leaves me kind of
[16:41] Speaker 2: deal you know this whole long saga. And then Puerto
[16:44] Speaker 2: like puts on his Instagram, he goes, nobody has, you know,
[16:47] Speaker 2: the gumption. I'm going to use that word instead of
[16:48] Speaker 2: what he said to like leave a player mid.
[16:50] Speaker 1: You like that word?
[16:51] Speaker 2: I do. But like, I didn't want to say the other,
[16:53] Speaker 2: you know, the, you know, whatever to like leave a
[16:55] Speaker 2: player midterm. He goes, and he's got a glass of
[16:57] Speaker 2: champagne on his flight back to wherever. And I'm like,
[16:59] Speaker 2: this is so juicy.
[17:01] Speaker 1: I've never seen a coach get fired mid tournament. Have
[17:03] Speaker 1: you ever seen him? I don't think he got fired.
[17:04] Speaker 3: I think he left.
[17:05] Speaker 1: He left, I think. Oh, you're right. You're right.
[17:07] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[17:07] Speaker 4: Because the video is for Kino. It's like, I thought
[17:11] Speaker 4: we were friends. I thought we were good. And then
[17:13] Speaker 4: he just sends me this long note and he blocks
[17:15] Speaker 4: me and my wife and everyone on Instagram.
[17:18] Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah.
[17:19] Speaker 4: And then he posts a picture with the champagne. I've
[17:23] Speaker 4: never heard of that before. I've heard of players getting
[17:25] Speaker 4: mad and doing all that, but that's like next level.
[17:28] Speaker 1: It's great.
[17:28] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[17:29] Speaker 1: A lot of times you'd see a player post, fire
[17:31] Speaker 1: a coach but not a coach's leave.
[17:32] Speaker 4: We need juice we need more juice we need to
[17:34] Speaker 4: know exactly what was said do we ever.
[17:36] Speaker 2: The only cb left me once mid-tournament but he came
[17:38] Speaker 2: back yeah.
[17:39] Speaker 3: It was i mean it was probably a product of
[17:41] Speaker 3: just david being a psycho on the court and you
[17:44] Speaker 3: know couldn't take it anymore.
[17:45] Speaker 1: For sure yeah um all right let's talk about the
[17:48] Speaker 1: women i'm glad.
[17:50] Speaker 5: The only what sorry go i'm glad we have woosie
[17:53] Speaker 5: here yeah there's only been one massive Upset, it's the
[17:58] Speaker 5: massive Rabakina loss to Stara Dubstevia?
[18:03] Speaker 1: You had it going yesterday. Stara Dubstevia. No, that's not right.
[18:06] Speaker 1: You're adding like an extra I where there's not. Someone
[18:08] Speaker 1: help me out.
[18:08] Speaker 4: It's not Stevia. It's not the sugar.
[18:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not Stevia. Stara Dubsteva. There you go. There
[18:13] Speaker 1: you go. Anyway, well, let's take us through that. Stara Dubsteva.
[18:18] Speaker 1: wins that match in a third set breaker. Are you,
[18:20] Speaker 1: I mean, we thought Rabokin was going to like the
[18:24] Speaker 1: conditions here, like fast, hot, she had the biggest server
[18:26] Speaker 1: on tour. Is this a shocking loss or not actually
[18:29] Speaker 1: that surprising?
[18:30] Speaker 4: I think it was a pretty shocking loss. I think
[18:33] Speaker 4: she was pretty high up there on people to watch
[18:36] Speaker 4: for the tournament, especially when it was going so quickly
[18:38] Speaker 4: and moving so fast. Her serve is so big. She's
[18:41] Speaker 4: going to hold most of the time. Got to give
[18:44] Speaker 4: credit to the opponent, but At the same time, I
[18:47] Speaker 4: think she, I mean, there was so many on for
[18:49] Speaker 4: stars in that match. She was unhappy. She was saying
[18:52] Speaker 4: she wasn't playing well. And then her coach left kind
[18:54] Speaker 4: of midway through the match. She said, because he was sick.
[18:58] Speaker 4: And so they had talked about this earlier. Yeah. So
[19:00] Speaker 4: they've been talking about this earlier, uh, before the match,
[19:04] Speaker 4: this is from a press conference. And she said there
[19:07] Speaker 4: was a chance that he was going to leave because
[19:08] Speaker 4: he wasn't feeling well. So kind of halfway through the
[19:11] Speaker 4: second set, he left and went back to the hotel.
[19:14] Speaker 1: Wow. That's why we bring in the insiders. That's why
[19:17] Speaker 1: we bring in the insiders. Exactly right. John, you, Rabakina
[19:22] Speaker 1: was like your pick to win the tournament. You're a
[19:23] Speaker 1: big Rabakina girl. I'm a big Rabakina guy.
[19:26] Speaker 3: Guy.
[19:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not a girl. I'm not a girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[19:29] Speaker 1: She's a girl.
[19:30] Speaker 4: I think she'll win Wimbledon.
[19:31] Speaker 1: I think she definitely can. I think she'll win Wimbledon.
[19:35] Speaker 2: Can I change your pick? No.
[19:38] Speaker 1: Sorry, Steve?
[19:39] Speaker 2: You know, that's a Sam move.
[19:40] Speaker 1: No, no, no. We're not. I picked Ego.
[19:43] Speaker 4: For Wimbledon?
[19:44] Speaker 1: No, for this. Oh. The other big news, I think,
[19:47] Speaker 1: of the women's second round is, unfortunately, what happened to
[19:50] Speaker 1: Hailey Baptiste. I know. That is brutal. It was in 2021, right, Caroline,
[19:56] Speaker 1: that she did that here? I don't remember. It was here.
[19:58] Speaker 4: It was here a few years.
[19:59] Speaker 1: Ago, yes. Yeah, it was 2021. Maybe it was 2022.
[20:04] Speaker 1: She's been playing unbelievable. Saved match point. Had that run
[20:07] Speaker 1: in Madrid. Beat Sabalega. Saved match points in her first
[20:10] Speaker 1: round here. And then it sounded like she tore her ACL. ACL.
[20:15] Speaker 1: ACL and meniscus. She's going to be out for the
[20:18] Speaker 1: rest of the year. For sure. Such a bummer. We
[20:20] Speaker 1: had her on the desk a couple days ago. Biggest
[20:22] Speaker 1: smile on her face. She's playing the best tennis of
[20:24] Speaker 1: her career. That was brutal. It's just a weird one.
[20:27] Speaker 1: You don't see that.
[20:29] Speaker 3: Too often in tennis, right? It's like you see these
[20:32] Speaker 3: beyond contact deals in football, right? Playing, but it doesn't
[20:34] Speaker 3: happen to all. We're not accustomed to seeing that in
[20:37] Speaker 3: our sport. And it's when you do, it's just, and
[20:40] Speaker 3: we just, our hearts.
[20:41] Speaker 1: Go out to Haley.
[20:41] Speaker 3: Cause that is a tough, tough recovery ahead.
[20:45] Speaker 1: You want to show people your outfit? Every day. Is
[20:51] Speaker 1: it Stevie? It's Stevie.
[20:52] Speaker 2: You know what it is.
[20:53] Speaker 1: Look at this guy. Let's go.
[20:55] Speaker 2: Golly, how smooth are you?
[20:58] Speaker 1: Oh, and I think this podcast is better when Isner
[21:01] Speaker 1: is out of view. Yeah.
[21:02] Speaker 2: It is better.
[21:05] Speaker 1: I get a little off my words late at night.
[21:08] Speaker 1: I said leprechaun.
[21:08] Speaker 3: Did you say leprechaun?
[21:10] Speaker 1: He said you look like a leprechaun. Get out of here,
[21:13] Speaker 1: you leopard king.
[21:13] Speaker 2: Sam's going just t-shirt today, huh? You're throwing the sweater
[21:16] Speaker 2: back on?
[21:17] Speaker 1: No, I've been wearing a sweater all day.
[21:18] Speaker 3: What do you think about his sweater?
[21:20] Speaker 1: Black sweater with a little heart on it?
[21:21] Speaker 4: This guy's been wearing a sweater in 95 degrees. A black,
[21:26] Speaker 4: thick sweater.
[21:27] Speaker 1: And everyone is sweating. Beauty is pain. You should know
[21:30] Speaker 1: that more than anyone.
[21:30] Speaker 4: I do know that, but I do not wear a
[21:32] Speaker 4: sweater in 95 degrees.
[21:34] Speaker 1: It's a sweater or a suit. It's bad no matter what.
[21:38] Speaker 2: Why don't you just throw on a nice collared tee?
[21:39] Speaker 2: Is that allowed or no?
[21:40] Speaker 1: It's not classy enough. It is allowed.
[21:42] Speaker 4: I don't think it would be allowed.
[21:43] Speaker 1: Do you have something to say? Why don't you move
[21:47] Speaker 1: it on for show? Which is why I'm really glad
[21:49] Speaker 1: we have Caroline here.
[21:49] Speaker 4: I mean, I thought they sound like hungry men that
[21:52] Speaker 4: are like bickering because they're angry.
[21:54] Speaker 1: They need Snickers.
[21:55] Speaker 2: This is every day, Woz. This is every day.
[21:57] Speaker 1: It's been a long day, Caroline. It's been a long day.
[21:59] Speaker 1: So on the men's side... It was how I started.
[22:02] Speaker 1: It was a drama-filled day on the men's side. The women,
[22:05] Speaker 1: especially today outside of Urbacana, the complete opposite. The top women...
[22:11] Speaker 1: Sabalenka cruises, Sviantek cruises, Coco cruises, Andreeva basically cruises, Bencic,
[22:18] Speaker 1: I mean, Keys cruises, Amanda Anisimova wins 6-0, retire. There's
[22:27] Speaker 1: like nothing to talk about. Jovic won 3-0 in front
[22:30] Speaker 1: of Emma Navarro, who Emma Navarro beat her last year. Stevie,
[22:34] Speaker 1: is there anything on the women's side that like you've,
[22:36] Speaker 1: we should even talk about? I don't know. It's like
[22:38] Speaker 1: pretty status quo with the women. Yeah.
[22:40] Speaker 2: I mean, it's just obviously the Rabakina and the Baptiste
[22:43] Speaker 2: kind of stole the headlines, but it's right now it's
[22:46] Speaker 2: the favorite. I mean, Sabalenka and Iga are, they're kind
[22:49] Speaker 2: of just cruising along playing what, doing what they need
[22:52] Speaker 2: to do. And maybe Kostiuk is, is getting in there
[22:56] Speaker 2: and Woz's pick, maybe Svitolina's still alive, you know, for
[22:59] Speaker 2: a long run.
[23:00] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[23:01] Speaker 1: The other news, like there's been the other news.
[23:04] Speaker 3: The last two days have just been crazy drama filled.
[23:07] Speaker 1: And we're super glad we have Posey here for this one.
[23:09] Speaker 1: Has the Serena Williams news made the way stateside yet?
[23:12] Speaker 2: It's trickled back to the Los Angeles area. Yeah, it has.
[23:15] Speaker 1: The big news is that Serena Williams might return to
[23:18] Speaker 1: the grass season. It's like all rumors that she's been
[23:21] Speaker 1: asking for wild cards into Queens, into Wimbledon. Berlin. We
[23:25] Speaker 1: don't know if it's singles. We don't know if it's doubles. Caroline,
[23:29] Speaker 1: you know her, but you're obviously not going to give
[23:30] Speaker 1: us any good juicy gossip here. I mean, would you
[23:34] Speaker 1: just love to see Serena back on the court?
[23:37] Speaker 4: I mean, I think as a fan, you always want
[23:40] Speaker 4: the greatest of all time on the women's side, obviously
[23:43] Speaker 4: to play. I think anyone would love to see her
[23:45] Speaker 4: back now. It just gets harder and harder, right? Like
[23:49] Speaker 4: when you get older and you haven't played for a
[23:51] Speaker 4: few years, I think it can be a little hard
[23:55] Speaker 4: to come back. You know, I, If she chooses to
[23:58] Speaker 4: come back, I wish her all the best.
[23:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, no, this is going to be, I mean, the
[24:02] Speaker 3: grass court season. When she reentered into the drug pool,
[24:05] Speaker 3: did you think that that was the reason, right? For
[24:09] Speaker 3: this potentially to come back? I'm not, you know, I
[24:12] Speaker 3: know you know Serena well, but do you?
[24:14] Speaker 4: I cannot confirm nor deny whether she's coming back or not.
[24:19] Speaker 2: And I do like, before we get to Nord, I
[24:20] Speaker 2: do like Serena's chances to get wild cards. You know,
[24:22] Speaker 2: I think she's going to be fine.
[24:23] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[24:25] Speaker 4: No, but when she did enter into the drug testing pool,
[24:28] Speaker 4: I think everyone was questioning and asking themselves, why would
[24:33] Speaker 4: she go back into that?
[24:34] Speaker 1: Right? Exactly. The rumblings have been out for a while.
[24:37] Speaker 1: This might come true in the grass court season here
[24:39] Speaker 1: in a few weeks. So time will tell. So producer
[24:42] Speaker 1: back there, But I think, again, speaking of Serena, speaking
[24:45] Speaker 1: of drug testing, NordVPN. I'm over here in Paris, so
[24:49] Speaker 1: is John. We don't want to miss any of our
[24:51] Speaker 1: favorite shows. NordVPN is our go-to for over here. We
[24:56] Speaker 1: want to make sure we can keep up with all

[25:09] Speaker 2: You want to watch a match live, usual streaming platform,
[25:11] Speaker 2: ready to watch, and suddenly it's not available in your region?
[25:13] Speaker 2: Not with NordVPN.
[25:14] Speaker 1: No, NordVPN. You've got to be ready to go at
[25:16] Speaker 1: any time, right? We're over here with Roland Garros, French Open.
[25:19] Speaker 1: All of a sudden, you check scores. It's 4, 5,
[25:20] Speaker 1: and the 5th. You've got to get it on. That's
[25:22] Speaker 1: why you have your NordVPN like John does on the
[25:24] Speaker 1: computer ready to go. You want to be able to
[25:25] Speaker 1: access your content anytime, anywhere, especially overseas.
[25:31] Speaker 4: We should be telling this to all the fans that
[25:32] Speaker 4: are saying they're watching Nothing Major. I've counted eight so far.
[25:36] Speaker 1: Yes. Now, 800. We've had a lot of people.
[25:40] Speaker 4: Actually, there's been a lot of people coming up and saying.
[25:42] Speaker 1: That they love the show. We're mid-ad read right now,

[26:00] Speaker 1: know what it's like. Carolyn, you know what it's like.
[26:02] Speaker 1: You're traveling too. She's probably got NordVPN. John has it.
[26:05] Speaker 1: I have it. Everyone, go check out NordVPN.

[27:43] Speaker 1: second round match. He looked awesome. I mean, he had,
[27:46] Speaker 1: Grinney didn't play in the heat of the day and
[27:48] Speaker 1: neither is his match tomorrow. I'm going to take Casper.

[27:54] Speaker 1: to me. Give me Caboli in that one.
[27:56] Speaker 2: Give me Lerner.
