In this powerful episode of the 2 Worlds Collide Podcast, I sit down with Nathan Tolman—a former Australian Infantry Warrant Officer with over two decades of service across some of the world’s most volatile regions. From Timor, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Solomon Islands, Nathan shares what it means to lead men in combat, the brutal reality of war, and the lifelong weight it leaves behind. We go deep on the Battle of Derapet (2010)—one of the most intense firefights Australian soldiers have faced—and the devastating loss of Lance Corporal Jared MacKinney during that battle. We also explore Nathan’s post-service life, including his ongoing battle with PTSD and how he’s managed to find purpose and stability after war. This is raw, real, and one of the most important conversations we’ve had on the show 🔗 Follow & Connect: Instagram: @2worldscollidepodcast TikTok: @2.worlds.collide.podcast X (Twitter): @2worldsPodcast Website: www.2worldscollide.com.au 🧠 Keywords: #NathanTolman #BattleOfDerapet #6RAR #3RAR #AustralianArmy #AfghanistanWar #VeteranStories #MilitaryPodcast #PTSD #ServiceAndSacrifice #2WorldsCollide
