## Transcript

[0:00] Welcome back to the Box2Box Show podcast.
[0:02] This episode 114 and the World Cup is finally here.
[0:05] And the transfer season is heating up, with Real Madrid
[0:07] making two top signings in the week.
[0:09] And we have Canadian footballer Ismaël Koné on the podcast to
[0:12] discuss how he's going to do at the World Cup.
[0:14] All that and more on the Boxer Box podcast.
[0:16] You ain't going home. Your Honor, I'm sorry.
[0:20] Your Honor, I'm sorry. And Mars are on the pitch, and
[0:24] Bangula starts our next. I'm a Drago.
[0:31] Is this drago? Oh my, that's.
[0:33] The we need some numbers over here. 49 No, that's that's.
[0:40] That's. Gentlemen, Summer officially
[0:48] started. The vibes are good.
[0:50] World Cup is around the corner. We're in a new studio.
[0:53] Life is. Life is great.
[0:54] Life is pretty great. A little changes.
[0:56] The new studio. We can thank Paula and Millie FC
[0:59] for this. I feel like we we've been
[1:00] thanked last week. Yeah, but it's eternally
[1:02] thanking. It's eternally thanking.
[1:04] I agree because Varva and Ferms of see, we kind of took like the
[1:08] backseat on this, on this project Box2Box Show wise.
[1:11] So yeah, you guys killed it. The studio is looking very nice.
[1:15] You want to point them out exactly what we have back here
[1:17] or what? So we got some IKEA belly's mom.
[1:21] So it's actually funny because the way that this all like the
[1:23] way that we conceptualize the idea was actually like we are
[1:27] just looking at like renders, like like just studio renders.
[1:30] And then we kind of found a couple that we liked, and then
[1:33] me and Millie just started building.
[1:35] We just started buying stuff, starting to build.
[1:36] And then slowly we started realizing like shit, we actually
[1:39] made it look exactly like the render without.
[1:41] It was, it was one of those things that were like that were
[1:43] just like we didn't have like an exact set like like look to the
[1:47] studio. It was kind of just like a, a, a
[1:49] concept of it. And then we built, yeah.
[1:50] Then we vibed on the way in like case you make this a dark color,
[1:53] she would make a black. She would do this.
[1:54] She would do that like even the panels on the side, like the
[1:56] hexagon panels, that's an audible that that was an
[1:59] audible. We did that on the spot.
[2:00] So it was like, yeah, the little additions to the jerseys, the
[2:04] scarves. Like we also brought some stuff
[2:06] over from the old well the past pod studio with like things in
[2:10] the back too, like I'm sure those.
[2:11] People, we have our content awards.
[2:14] Yeah, Yeah, we have. One on that side and 1:00 on
[2:15] that side. Yeah, we have our trio shoes
[2:18] somewhere. Firms of shoe is still here.
[2:19] Something from the shoe just made it, made it through every.
[2:21] Internally. The World Cup posters, we got to
[2:23] say we got the Toronto one there.
[2:24] We got my Balandor up there. Might add The Sopranos my World
[2:27] Cup. Yeah, the.
[2:28] Sopranos. Think of adding The Sopranos to.
[2:30] How do we do that? There's no right in between the
[2:33] jerseys. Yeah, we'll see.
[2:34] We'll see. Maybe that's after World.
[2:35] Cup Cup of the World Cup might be an after World Cup situation,
[2:37] but the plants are still there. Also the vibe because we're
[2:40] using this for our Youtubes. I'm sure you if you guys would
[2:42] have seen the World Cup prediction videos, but there's
[2:45] going to be more coming out. Actually, there's already going
[2:46] to be two that have came out in the studio.
[2:48] We wanted to give a similar vibe to where we were before in our
[2:51] old studio just just because that's like box of box identity,
[2:55] you know, like you create that identity.
[2:56] The the podcast a little bit more difficult because we are
[2:59] sitting in the same arrangement, but you can't make the set look
[3:02] exactly the same as the podcast 1 so and.
[3:04] I think it was nice just to like do something special for the
[3:07] World Cup, obviously once every four years.
[3:08] Like it was a labor of love. But I mean, we did it because
[3:11] like we know how big of an occasion this is.
[3:14] Kind of deserves it like especially for you guys watching
[3:16] like you guys, you guys have supported us along the way so.
[3:19] And, and I, I'm probably going to stay on the next YouTube, but
[3:21] if you guys watch the recent YouTube video and you guys were
[3:23] commenting and you guys were supporting, I appreciate all
[3:25] those comments. Like shit like that.
[3:27] When I just click on the video and I see all the comments,
[3:30] camera quality. So sick child to our, our
[3:32] producer Apple Go. And like, just just like the
[3:36] support is the, the support is it makes you feel good, makes
[3:38] you feel like all the work in the, the, the long nights like
[3:40] are worth it. So yeah, I really appreciate it.
[3:42] Just beginning because now we have a month of beautiful games
[3:45] every day. Lock in.
[3:46] Now it's a lock in. Yeah, yeah.
[3:47] Hard part. I'm sorry.
[3:48] Yeah, like Barbara's nutrients levels are kind of off today.
[3:51] We recorded 2 YouTube videos already.
[3:53] Today, but I'm I'm like full of energy, you know, like I'm like
[3:55] super hyped, you know, I'm stoked.
[3:57] What's great about this room is that you can't tell the time.
[4:00] It's like the casino. You know, I don't have a watch
[4:01] so. Yeah.
[4:02] It's like, it's like a casino situation, Yeah.
[4:04] It could be good, it's a pro. Yeah, because even in the old
[4:07] studio, once you saw the sun go down a little bit and it starts
[4:10] getting darker, like it kind of felt, yeah.
[4:13] I have no idea what time it is right now.
[4:14] I know exactly what time it is. It time to talk about football
[4:16] or what? It's almost that time.
[4:18] World Cup. It's time to talk about the
[4:19] Monaco Grand Prix first, just for a little 2nd and maybe
[4:22] Roland Garros. Just throw that in there a
[4:24] little bit. If anyone's a tennis fan, we're
[4:26] actually recording this on the Saturday before the Sunday
[4:28] Monaco race. We didn't even see it yet and
[4:31] it's not as good. So I don't know.
[4:32] Going into this weekend we thought the free practices, the
[4:34] Ferraris were like one and two or two and three.
[4:36] So like we really thought there was something special going on.
[4:38] And Leclair? As per usual, it's either hit
[4:40] the wall or win the Monaco Grand Prix.
[4:42] Paulo called it. We're watching Q3, and it was
[4:44] like, Paulo's like, yeah, either like he hits the wall or like,
[4:48] or he gets pulled. That's usually how Leclaire
[4:49] goes. And then you saw Yellow Flag and
[4:51] instantly look at Millie and me. Millie both know he's in a wall.
[4:53] So yeah. And that's exactly we'll see
[4:54] tomorrow. There's not a lot of passing on
[4:56] Monaco, but everyone watches just because it's it's.
[4:59] Monaco. It's the home of Formula One, in
[5:01] a way. Yeah.
[5:02] And listen, it's the most lavish Yeah, race of the calendar.
[5:06] So I don't know about you guys. I'm seeing some some friends of
[5:08] ours. I know, I know at the race, like
[5:09] I'm like, everyone's moving up. What the fuck?
[5:12] Moving up in the world. I see someone on a yacht in
[5:14] Monaco eating a nice supper. It's like, good for them.
[5:17] Yeah. I mean, one day it's.
[5:18] A one day situation, yeah. So one day I'll be in the bushes
[5:21] watching I'm. Monaco.
[5:23] Monaco doesn't interest me that much to go like it doesn't
[5:26] because. You're not an F1.
[5:27] But like F1, it doesn't interest me that much to go going.
[5:30] I would just like to go to Monaco but not really like but
[5:33] if. You're there, Monaco.
[5:34] And you want to go see Louisville Trace?
[5:36] But it just, it just sounds like.
[5:37] It just sounds like you're going to get rinsed so bad.
[5:41] But just for. Every time you.
[5:42] Just admit that you don't got it like that.
[5:44] Just say you don't got it like that.
[5:45] And got it. Situation, but like we're
[5:46] talking about like got it like that.
[5:48] Like, not very many people have got it like that.
[5:50] But I feel like if you do got it like that, it's an enjoyable
[5:52] place to be. Imagine being surrounded by a
[5:54] bunch of other people that got it like that.
[5:57] It's like you're in the land. You're in the land of.
[5:59] Got it. Yeah, that's like those are your
[6:00] people. Like those are the people you
[6:01] associate. With a land of dopamine maxes.
[6:04] Land of I don't know about that, yeah, maximizing shareholder
[6:07] value for the situation it's. More like equity maxing.
[6:10] Wait, so when you're a YouTube, are you, your goal is to
[6:14] maximize viewer enjoyment. So you're still in a way we are
[6:17] acting as a, as a company? Providers, yeah, we're fuse
[6:20] maxing. We're drug dealers.
[6:23] I'm I'm a I'm a dopamine dealer. We're Milky drug dealers the way
[6:27] you I'm a dope dealer. You're gonna put that on my CVS?
[6:29] I'm a dope dealer. I'm a dopamine dealer.
[6:30] For real. Yeah, it was a fiend.
[6:32] Yeah, for real. Don't sell dope around my corner
[6:34] bro. We got you can't.
[6:36] You can't. You can't get the what is it?
[6:38] You can't get hooked on your product.
[6:39] You can't go high on your own supply.
[6:41] Yeah. That's us watching our own box
[6:43] to box videos. Yeah, ours of theme of our
[6:46] supply, but no, it takes it takes people that consume
[6:49] content to make content. Yeah, which makes sense.
[6:52] And this is Roland Garros. I don't know if you guys saw
[6:54] what's happening, but Sinner. Sinner didn't retire, actually
[6:58] played out, played out a full match, still lost because he was
[7:01] injured. Alkares didn't make the
[7:03] tournament. Djokovic lost to Mensic.
[7:05] I think Djokovic lost to Mensic the the young Czech player and
[7:08] the now the final Zverev and Kaboli, which is a younger,
[7:12] younger born in 2002. So whatever that makes him
[7:15] Italian in the final, so we Italian.
[7:17] Product once again center down, koble up.
[7:19] There's a. Doing well everywhere but in
[7:21] there's. A semi final.
[7:22] The semi final was very of Mencic and the other one was 2
[7:25] Italians. We're just.
[7:27] Yeah, Italian guaranteed. And everything other than.
[7:29] Football. The most important one, yeah.
[7:31] It's, I don't know about you guys, Is it like an eerie, like
[7:33] is it still an eerie feeling when it's like World Cup time,
[7:36] but it's like there's no Italy I.
[7:38] Hate it, I said it before, I'm never going to let them let it
[7:40] down. It doesn't get you as hyped for
[7:42] the disgrace. I'm just pissed.
[7:44] I'm pissed because we're frustrating.
[7:46] I would love to have Italy. Like, I don't know, we we see we
[7:48] have all the jerseys, we're talking about the players like
[7:51] ripping packs, whatever. Like no, Italy, no, no, no
[7:54] mention of Italy. As if we're as if we're a mine,
[7:56] a small little minute footballing we.
[7:58] Are irrelevant now. Right now, it feels like it.
[8:01] We are bro. Like there's some, there's some
[8:03] teams you don't know half the players, you don't know 90% of
[8:05] the players. Yeah, many teams.
[8:07] But there's a lot of people, I'm sure they don't recognize like
[8:09] 80% of the Italian national team now.
[8:12] You're saying they recognize players are more than they
[8:14] recognize players? No, but Saudi.
[8:16] OK, but but I'm saying more like we we currently stand right now
[8:20] probably like the size internationally of like a
[8:23] Columbia maybe in in football. I was thinking of Columbia.
[8:26] Like exact. Yeah, I mean, I disagree.
[8:28] But I think that's a little. That's hard.
[8:31] Yeah, that's in the moment. Listen, I, I.
[8:33] We. Have we have a league?
[8:34] We have a top five league in our country.
[8:35] I was, I was like visualizing, you know, like what?
[8:37] The favorite? You can't say we don't.
[8:39] Have a top five league, it's just sure that, but top five is
[8:43] just the barometer that we've set.
[8:45] But the league is so much worse. OK, so you think the Portuguese
[8:48] league is better? Than the I don't.
[8:49] It's all compared to the Premier League, OK?
[8:51] Let's just move on because it's just, it's Barber, Barber.
[8:53] Is all on PSG? It's going to yap nothing.
[8:55] But we mentioned in the intro, obviously we will not be
[8:58] supporting Italy in this World Cup, but we will be supporting
[9:00] Canada and we have a sick guest during the pod.
[9:03] So that's going to be. Fun.
[9:04] But to clarify, it's not going to be like he's not pulling up
[9:07] here. We, we already recorded, we have
[9:09] to go to him. We, we already recorded that
[9:11] portion of it. It's going to be towards the
[9:12] end, but now we're going to get into like the regular club
[9:15] football, yeah, news and stuff. Well I mean Real Madrid decided
[9:18] to like fuck up the entire world this week and just sign.
[9:21] They signed Denzel Dumfries for 20 mil shekels, they signed
[9:25] Connate for free, and now they're trying to sign Alize for
[9:28] 150 mil. And they're just causing drama
[9:30] for no reason. Yeah.
[9:31] Meanwhile, they have a presidential race.
[9:33] But that's why it's kind of forcing him to spend money.
[9:37] Yeah, but you can't the the promises that the other guys
[9:40] making are crazy. Yeah, saying that, they already
[9:43] have. They already have Holland.
[9:44] They have Clop. Clop's going to be on the phone,
[9:47] Holland's going to be signed and Roger's going to be signed.
[9:49] But but my reason my my thinking is that if Holland agrees to to
[9:53] join Real Madrid, if he kelmies president, like why wouldn't he
[9:56] agree to join when Perez's president?
[9:57] It's because he's not. You know.
[9:59] It's empty promises. It's a lot of empty promises and
[10:02] you see with Mourinho, for example, obviously Perez wanted
[10:05] him and he Kelme is saying that's not the coach I would go
[10:08] for for but like he's signed to Real Madrid right now.
[10:10] So what do you get? You're going to.
[10:11] Double down. He's not signed.
[10:13] He's not officially signed. I think there's just an
[10:15] agreement, but it's. Depending on the the results of
[10:19] the election. I don't think it'll be close, I
[10:21] think. I think Perez will still win by
[10:22] a landslide. I really don't.
[10:23] I don't know. I.
[10:25] Also, I think Perez is going to win also, but I don't know, it
[10:27] kind of feels like he's losing his aura.
[10:29] Like if there was a time to attack his his crown, it's the
[10:32] it's now. But two years trophy list?
[10:34] You don't. You don't attack with promises
[10:36] that the world knows you won't. I don't know if the world knows
[10:39] that he won't do Earling Holland.
[10:42] And they already came out, said that.
[10:43] Yeah, that was man said he already wants to sue them.
[10:46] Yeah, but suing, whatever. If the guy, if the guy wants to
[10:48] join Real Madrid, he wants to join Real Madrid.
[10:50] Do you actually think that they had a call?
[10:51] He spoke about it. He spoke about it that he he's
[10:53] he's wants to play for Real Madrid.
[10:55] Dortmund CEO came out literally yesterday or the day before
[10:59] saying I know Holland wants to play for Real Madrid and he
[11:02] probably will in the future but maybe just not right now it.
[11:05] Just makes no sense. Like he's going to choose that
[11:08] you're gonna have Mbappe, Holland and Vinny.
[11:11] Why are you making the problem? Worse, they might sell one of
[11:13] them They. 'D have to sell one of them.
[11:15] Yeah, Fisher, I think, I think Rodri would be an easy purchase.
[11:19] To be honest, Roger, for me, I feel like that's for him to even
[11:22] just go up a level pretty much from Man City to real at that
[11:26] age. What's?
[11:26] The point of Man City selling Man City or a top club they
[11:30] can't sell but. When I said that for Bayern, but
[11:31] when I said that for Bayern, for Elise, why is it different?
[11:34] Because we'll be talking about that well.
[11:36] We can talk about it right now if.
[11:37] Firm firms. So Elise, I could tell my own
[11:40] opinion. Well, I said I was going to
[11:42] explain what? You're OK Explain what you have
[11:43] to say and then don't explain my opinion because that's my
[11:45] opinion. Well.
[11:46] Firm said if you bid 150 million a 100 million. 50 million, what
[11:50] I said, what I said is that obviously a Felice is on the
[11:53] market for 200 million. I mean 200 million is a figure
[11:57] that you consider because although Alize is a world class
[12:00] player, he he's at a top three season so far this year. 200
[12:04] million for a guy you bought for 50 million you consider it
[12:06] because even though in the. Future they replace him.
[12:09] Even if it's a level below 200 million opens up a lot of funds
[12:12] that you could buy a level below of Alizee and a midfielder that
[12:15] you might need a defender. They're buying or not.
[12:17] They're are auction. It's not like buying our need
[12:21] the cash. It's not about cash, it's about
[12:22] the project. It it when you know when you
[12:25] maximize values of players and you know when to sell them,
[12:28] That's when you're a big club that knows how to move.
[12:29] No. Yes.
[12:30] No, because Elise, Elise is a player that will be a figurehead
[12:33] of the sport for the next decade.
[12:35] That's not a player that it's best served in your club's
[12:38] interests to be that player, to be at your club.
[12:40] So in your opinion, the best players in the world are not
[12:43] sellable no matter the price? Exactly.
[12:45] I don't agree with that because there is a price for everyone.
[12:48] Except for a price. That's ridiculous. 200 mil is
[12:51] not ridiculous for at least sake. 200 mil if 2. 100 mil is
[12:54] not if if if Yandio Mande and I'm a big Yandio Mande fan.
[12:57] If Yandio Mande is being quoted 120 mil only say for 200 mil is
[13:01] not ridiculous. So, so that Neymar 200. 20
[13:03] That's what I was about to. Bring Coutinho went for 150 mil.
[13:05] That's ridiculous. Yeah, those were.
[13:07] Ridiculous because Coutinho was never considered a a
[13:09] generational player. That was everyone knew 1000
[13:12] overpay. Griezman was an overpay.
[13:14] Like the even even dumbbelly was an overpay.
[13:16] So for Barcelona, but that does that mean that that Neymar isn't
[13:20] worth 220? Million.
[13:21] But once again, you're going to you.
[13:22] You might spend 200 mil just trying to replace Elysee.
[13:25] You'll go and buy a guy for let's say 70 mil, he might flop.
[13:28] And then you're going to go spend another 70 mil on some
[13:30] guy. He might flop again.
[13:31] So differentiates a a well run club from one that you.
[13:35] Know Michael Elysee on the market right now?
[13:36] It's not about having a Michael Elysee on the market, It's about
[13:39] what you do with the money that you get.
[13:40] You maximize Elise's value. If you think that's the ceiling,
[13:44] that's up to buy into the side. If 200 million is a ceiling,
[13:47] once you do that, if you could build a squad with that 200
[13:50] million, you could invest into that.
[13:51] You build an even longer. Term, listen, Harry Kane, Harry
[13:53] Kane, he doesn't have like listen, he stole an elite
[13:55] player. But I do think that you have
[13:57] kind of have to consider a longer term 100 percent, 200
[14:00] million gives you enough room to figure that out 100%.
[14:05] You're just thinking about it like the issue and don't take
[14:08] this like, I'm not shooting shots at your club.
[14:10] Your clubs are broke. So you're thinking, you're
[14:12] thinking about it that that like Byron needs money.
[14:16] Byron doesn't need the money. That's all we're seeing so.
[14:18] But they could have 200 million, the bank or whatever, they're
[14:21] still going to go. If a player they deem is good
[14:23] enough, they're still going to try and buy.
[14:24] Them, I think I'm going to be both of you, you guys are
[14:25] talking about the, you're saying the same things over and over,
[14:27] but the reality is is Bayern, Bayern, if they think of
[14:31] themselves as a destination and they look for Michael Alise's,
[14:34] then you have Michael Alise. So there's no point of going out
[14:36] in the market. And but you're being
[14:39] unreasonable because you probably said 500 million and
[14:41] you're saying 200 million. I think there was a number
[14:43] that's reasonable if they actually go into negotiations if
[14:46] somebody offers. 2300 million. It's not an amount except
[14:49] someone would offer. No, but Saudi would offer
[14:52] there's. Too much risk involved, Yeah,
[14:54] For you to like. Alise is certified, but he's
[14:57] not. He's not, he's not messy.
[14:59] He's not messy or Ronaldo or Neymar.
[15:01] But like I would think about A270280, that's where I start
[15:06] thinking about selling him. Yeah, but firm Firm said firms
[15:09] brought up the case of Yamal A500 mil.
[15:13] I would reject that instantly. There is a price for Yamal too.
[15:16] Unfortunately there is. If you're a big club, you know
[15:18] how to move with money there because the issue is that you're
[15:21] considering you sell a Yamal, you sell an Aliza and there's no
[15:24] after that money goes in your pocket.
[15:25] That's what you think. But obviously 500 million opens
[15:29] up you. You're a different club without.
[15:30] I feel like Yamal is a very tough one because it's kind of
[15:33] like on the same level as as selling the best player in the.
[15:35] World but you'll make you yamal. You can move crazy but Yamal in
[15:40] clubs by piercing in club valuation will make you 500 like
[15:44] he's worth 5. 100 something else to consider yeah and maybe 500
[15:47] mil is not the right price for Yamal obviously, but there are
[15:50] numbers where you consider because there is a longer term
[15:53] plan to it. If you're a big club and you
[15:55] know how to move, I. Don't know if you have luminium
[15:56] Mal, you don't sell like it no matter the price.
[15:59] You just find but like I. Like, am I, am I saying to sell
[16:01] Yami laminium Mal? No, Yeah, I'm.
[16:03] Saying he's not on that level in my opinion.
[16:04] He's not. He's not.
[16:05] He's not. I'm sorry, Olivia.
[16:07] He was there. He's the best.
[16:08] Season wise, yes, but as an overall player, a product like
[16:11] an asset, I think he's not a Yamal asset.
[16:13] I think he is a good product though, like he has.
[16:16] He's a great product. He's marketable.
[16:17] You know he's a fantastic product.
[16:19] I think we're we're going a little bit crazy.
[16:20] Yeah, I, I, I. Think I've never dropped 280
[16:23] million on a guy that has one amazing season.
[16:26] He doesn't. He was amazing.
[16:27] He was amazing. His last year, so do.
[16:28] You think Olise for like, let's say 250 million to Real Madrid,
[16:32] would that be a good deal for Real Madrid?
[16:34] I that's a good deal for Real Madrid, yeah.
[16:37] I think that doesn't that's the. #1 transfer of all time is.
[16:41] Yeah, there's there's certain players in world football.
[16:43] If you're a top five, you're if you're a top five player, I
[16:46] would say in world football, like the price doesn't matter.
[16:49] I would say you just getting him is is is money comes and goes,
[16:52] bro. It's not money's like whatever
[16:53] it's it's it's if you get No, no, not not only says they don't
[16:59] come and go say the same thing. No they don't only say I don't
[17:02] think Inter I have seen a level of players like a lease since
[17:04] R9. What does that have to do with
[17:06] it? You bring up, you bring up
[17:07] things because it's like you're trying to you're.
[17:09] Trying to I'm not trying to attack your team, I'm.
[17:11] Saying. I'm saying it's not.
[17:13] It's rare. There's nothing to do it but
[17:15] what I want. Yeah, but I also have eyes and I
[17:16] watch others, other teams fuck. I mean, you fucking stupid or
[17:19] what? Like I really don't understand.
[17:21] The only players that I watch. Inter I watch every other
[17:23] fucking. Team what I want to understand
[17:25] what I want to understand. You bring in Elisa for 280 mil,
[17:29] pretend like that's the only transfer Real Madrid gets.
[17:32] Would you be be content with that?
[17:33] I wouldn't. Well, pretend it's not the only
[17:36] transfer that's the issue, but. 280 million is a is a pretty
[17:39] chunk, yeah, but. You're still getting Dumfries,
[17:41] they're still getting connate like.
[17:44] So you think Elisa to 20, I think.
[17:46] For a long term maybe not for next year.
[17:48] It's not a one year thing but olise for long term will be
[17:52] worth 280 mil yes. If it's the number one, fix that
[17:57] people. Freaked out about Gareth Bale
[17:58] for 100 mil back in the day. People freaked out about CR7 O
[18:02] is he going to be worth on the 100 mil that they paid Man
[18:04] United? But you see all this shit Man
[18:06] United. We sold Cristiano Ronaldo for
[18:08] 100 mil and then we tried replacing him.
[18:10] It took us hundreds of millions to replace them.
[18:12] We still haven't replaced them these.
[18:13] Guys were the cherry on top. Like Real Madrid right now needs
[18:16] somewhat of a rebuild. Bro no they don't really bro.
[18:19] The lot is so good bro. It's good, but it's not working
[18:22] right now so I think. That's not working, but doesn't
[18:24] need a change. Tear down they.
[18:25] Just signed the World Class Center back.
[18:27] Yeah, I think it's more like they need to add pieces like
[18:29] not. Necessarily that's also that's
[18:31] also different thing real. Madrid don't need a bunch of 50
[18:33] mil players. They need 200 mil players.
[18:35] They need 150 mil players. They don't need a bunch of
[18:38] fucking I'll just like Edersons and stuff like that.
[18:42] Like like they don't need what Man United's targeting.
[18:46] They have Valverde, Chua, many they had like they have world
[18:50] class players in every position. You need the right players.
[18:53] But I also don't understand without like really a sporting
[18:56] direction right now because of the elections.
[18:58] Like how? How are they?
[18:59] Settled When's the When's the election's over?
[19:01] How are they? Going into this and buying a
[19:03] Konate and and Dumphries with like, I feel like you kind of
[19:07] need to know your coach, you kind of need to know.
[19:09] The US elections, that's like the same thing.
[19:11] Like what? As they're leaving office, they
[19:13] spend the shit ton of money so that it's like you, you, you're,
[19:16] you're in power until the last day.
[19:18] You're in power bro, you can do whatever you want.
[19:20] No, but there is a board I mean. Or they won't make.
[19:23] Decisions unless they if if they think that the pairs would lose,
[19:26] they wouldn't make decisions. Yeah, but they if they deem OK
[19:29] Michael Alise is a good purchase.
[19:30] Yeah, like it's irrespective of yeah, yeah had as a OK.
[19:34] Still bringing in. It's still good.
[19:35] I feel like Alise is definitely a player that everybody would
[19:37] want, like Dumfries, Konate, like you're in the limit there.
[19:41] Like, yeah, they're good players.
[19:43] They're market opportunities, sure, but it's like like what
[19:46] if, what if? Manatee is making 300 something
[19:48] thousand a week at at Manatee. Is making ridiculous money.
[19:51] Yeah, but I mean, if you look at total package, it's still worth
[19:53] it. What's Liverpool going to do?
[19:56] Oh, Liverpool. But they're going to trust
[19:57] Leonie and Jacquet that they signed from.
[19:59] Yeah. Enjoy that.
[20:00] The French league. Jacquet's good.
[20:02] Leonie, I don't know. He's all right.
[20:03] I mean, I don't know. He he got injured.
[20:05] Yeah, he was injured half. The he had a lot of hype.
[20:08] Yeah, but he was injured, so we don't know Leonie.
[20:11] Was injured too. Like I'm, I'm saying Liverpool,
[20:16] there's kind of stupid for this whole Konate situation.
[20:19] Like how do you leave a a how do you let a guy who's worth
[20:22] probably at his peak like 807080 million leave for free?
[20:26] There must have been some sort of breakdown in talks that
[20:28] people aren't really explaining. I really don't know.
[20:30] I don't know. I don't know how they let him
[20:31] leave because I thought they agreed.
[20:33] I thought they agreed to like personal terms and not like they
[20:36] were about to sign an extension. I I didn't even think Konate
[20:39] could leave on a free. Somebody had given an
[20:42] explanation on the part. I'm trying to remember it.
[20:44] It was, it was a comment. Well, it was he kept driving up
[20:47] the price. So every time that they would
[20:48] go, he'd be like, well, no, now I want more money.
[20:51] Because as he's going down closer to the date, the game of
[20:53] chicken, as he's getting closer to the expiration date, he
[20:55] actually gains more and more negotiation power.
[20:58] Because because he's not a player that's going to end up
[21:00] down grading from Liverpool, Yeah on a free like this guy's
[21:02] going to get was going to get stamped up by yeah anyways.
[21:05] It could be like all hypothetical because I don't
[21:08] think that that it's going to happen.
[21:09] I don't think Alicia is going to Real Madrid, but aside from
[21:13] that, I mean right wingers. If they are, they are trying to
[21:14] sign a right winger because Rodrigo injuries.
[21:17] Plus I don't know if Rodrigo is even that good anymore.
[21:20] It's more just because Mbappe and Vinny, they always lose the
[21:22] ball, so you need a right winger that is able to keep the ball.
[21:25] Like a bit of a workforce. All the time and at least they
[21:27] get the ball, keep the ball because he he's not the the
[21:31] issue is in the front three. If you have, if you have let's
[21:34] say, like I'm trying to think of who they, they even they had
[21:38] switched that right wing position all the time this
[21:40] season, but it was players that that weren't Michael Aleza.
[21:45] You send him the ball and it's like he you know, he's coming
[21:47] out of there with it like it doesn't matter.
[21:49] He always makes the right decision and he's either making
[21:51] an insane pass or worst case, like he's just, he's passing the
[21:55] ball backwards. But he he's able to always make
[21:58] the right decision. So that's why.
[22:00] That's why you need. You don't.
[22:01] Need perfection everywhere like there are like there's enough
[22:05] players in that team that they can figure it out.
[22:07] A right winger. I'm saying brother, they have
[22:09] glaring. Defensive that that I'm
[22:11] completely against doing nothing they need to fix.
[22:13] There's a million other things they need to fix first.
[22:15] I that's. Kind of what I was saying they
[22:16] have. No fullbacks.
[22:17] They have no center. But now.
[22:18] They did buy Dumfries and Konata so maybe that should help.
[22:21] I mean, Dumfries are 20. You're.
[22:22] Going to war with fucking Dumfries.
[22:24] Dumfries and trend for 20 million right back up.
[22:26] The value. That's amazing, right?
[22:28] Back options. It depends which game.
[22:31] If you feel like OK, this is a game where I need more of a
[22:33] passer, then you have Trent. If I need more of an athletic.
[22:35] Person doesn't feel real like Dumfries and Conatte does not
[22:39] feel Real Madrid. But Conatte, I could say yes,
[22:41] the the Dumfries one, I think that was just more of a market
[22:44] opportunity. 20 mil. 20 mil release clause like yeah, and
[22:48] and he's he was extremely reliable when he played at
[22:51] Inter. I find that last season from him
[22:53] though, like he experienced a lot of injuries this past
[22:55] season. So like, and he's on his 30,
[22:58] like he's 30 years old. So he's getting on the opposite
[23:01] side of 30, which is never really good as a player.
[23:03] And he relies on his physicality.
[23:05] He's a very physical player. He has he has some level of
[23:08] pace, but not he's not blisteringly fast, but he's a
[23:11] tough player. He's a he's a a ball winner too.
[23:13] So I I do think that it's a good, it's a very good addition.
[23:17] Definitely not a Real Madrid starter level in my opinion, but
[23:21] having Dumfries just as an option is very, very he's proven
[23:24] it on on a European level as well.
[23:25] So yeah, I'm not, I'm not against.
[23:28] The and then I don't know why. Last week we were talking on the
[23:30] pod Irreola to Milan. I don't know why we ever.
[23:33] That. Was going.
[23:33] Those are the links. Yeah, I don't know why.
[23:35] Like you rejected you I. Don't know why.
[23:38] Liverpool appoints Iriola, So what do you guys think about the
[23:42] appointment? I think it's a good appointment,
[23:45] but we also said Thomas Frank, the Spurs was a good
[23:47] appointment. Yeah.
[23:48] I think with these type of managers that do well at kind of
[23:51] mid, mid table teams in the Prem, you don't know until you
[23:55] know. You don't know if they can
[23:56] manage at the top level with the pressure that comes with it
[23:59] until they actually do it successfully.
[24:00] The good thing though is that the sporting director of when he
[24:03] came in at Bournemouth is at Liverpool, so it's Matt Hughes.
[24:07] I think his name is so yeah, he's kind of familiar already
[24:10] with the sporting team at least. So Irayola I I think it's a good
[24:14] appointment. Will it make Liverpool title
[24:15] contenders? I don't think so.
[24:17] I think it'll probably put them in like the third and 4th place
[24:19] next year. It's.
[24:20] Hard to tell because they are, they have asked, they have
[24:22] Yandy, Oman, the aspirations and they already have a stack team.
[24:25] Yeah. I think it's stopped here bro.
[24:27] Imagine TK, Esac, Yandy, Oman Day with backups.
[24:31] Well, I can TK injured. So he's he he.
[24:34] Yeah. Well, he's going to be back.
[24:35] I don't know when halfway through the year or a bit less
[24:37] than halfway through the year, but he's not.
[24:39] He's not coming back at the beginning, beginning of the
[24:41] year. There's going to be real.
[24:43] Also there's going to be real. You might make him play left and
[24:45] right. But is it optimal?
[24:47] Are you buy? Are you spending 120 million for
[24:48] a guy that's going to play out of position?
[24:50] It's not out of position. He's so 2 footed that it is.
[24:53] He's just, he's just that good. I don't.
[24:55] Know so we've never watched my right wing we we did he was left
[24:58] wing when we. Watched.
[24:58] We watched. He he played, I'm pretty sure,
[25:00] sure. I, I watched the breakdown.
[25:02] He has 50% of his minutes played at right wing and 50% of the
[25:05] left wing. Yeah.
[25:07] Also we we did kind of talk about it at Liverpool though,
[25:09] because I remember saying Idaola fits the the old Liverpool style
[25:13] of Clop, the high pressing. That's true.
[25:15] Something that Slot was not really like.
[25:17] He kind of did it for the first year and they won.
[25:19] And then the second year he kind of tried to do his own style.
[25:22] Idaola comes in with the high pressing mentality, the
[25:24] progressive football. We were looking at their XG.
[25:28] Yeah, he's the originator of the pressing structure.
[25:30] He really told us about that pressing.
[25:32] He always has to keep an eye on him.
[25:33] Top tier coach. I think it's a very good
[25:34] signing. Now we'll see if he can manage
[25:36] the Eagles. Maybe he has a lot of work to do
[25:39] with getting someone back on track like Verts Hezak.
[25:42] He almost joined Liverpool as a player also in 2013, but then he
[25:45] rejected them. He said that I want to say stick
[25:48] at Athletico Bilbao because he's, he was like a Bilbao
[25:50] legend, right. So games.
[25:51] Yeah. So he almost actually played.
[25:54] He played in the MLS, Chicago or, I don't know, New York City
[25:57] FC with CFC. Yeah, with with Pierlo, I think.
[26:01] Lamb pardon. Yeah, David via.
[26:03] With a pivot. Yeah, yeah, Iola tapped in low
[26:05] key into the football. He's.
[26:07] Well, and he's a midfielder and we, we said that midfielders are
[26:09] usually good coaches. Yeah.
[26:11] DM. Understand the game?
[26:12] Yeah. Yeah.
[26:14] But yeah, what we also since last week we spoke about
[26:18] Aleggity getting sacked from AC Milan, but now he's already
[26:21] found a job, so at Napoli. So what do we think about this
[26:25] appointment where it's like every year around this time of
[26:27] year we talk about where Aleggities going and we think,
[26:29] OK, is that good or bad? There's also a back story to it.
[26:33] Italiano Bologna was promised by de la Rentis to join Napoli and
[26:38] then when Allegri kind of had that broke off with with Milan,
[26:42] basically Allegri became an option, De la Rentis told
[26:45] Italiano, listen, let's put it on the back burner and went full
[26:49] on on Allegri. So Italiano finds himself
[26:51] unemployed, but he just signed for Besiktas.
[26:54] So a turn of events there. I think personally for a team
[26:58] like Napoli who did make Champions League who don't
[27:00] really need much saving, they have like the foundations kind
[27:04] of set. Italiano was kind of the next.
[27:06] Like you start doing a project now.
[27:08] I think if you go to Allegory like you're going back to
[27:11] someone, that's like you're gambling again, I find.
[27:14] I just think Napolis, like again, I think what was
[27:17] circulating on Twitter at that time was just like this grid of
[27:20] like all Italian coaches. Just get yeah, you're just
[27:22] fucking embarrassed. Checking the boxes like yeah, it
[27:25] is. It is.
[27:26] Crayola is 1 manager that came from a.
[27:28] You're talking about managers that did 1 jump in our league.
[27:31] It's pretty bad. Saudi's coaching fucking
[27:33] Atlanta. He coached UVA, he coached
[27:35] Lazio, which other one? Allegri coached?
[27:38] Milani coached UVA coach Napoli. Konte could have finished.
[27:42] The traffic though, Chelsea, Man United, Tottenham, you don't
[27:45] count that that's. True, that's one manager.
[27:47] Konte, Chelsea, Tottenham That's.
[27:50] Two. OK, keep going.
[27:51] That's two clubs. There's there's another one get
[27:55] it off of beneath this kid, Liverpool and Everton.
[27:58] OK, Yeah. The difference?
[28:00] Whatever, the difference here is that like, these coaches that
[28:03] are being recycled are all of the same idea.
[28:06] Like they're 7 like. It's like period, like Italian,
[28:10] Italian mindset, hard working, like all the work done in
[28:13] training. And it's just like I, I just do
[28:16] not like this I. Can guarantee.
[28:19] I don't think it'll. Work with 98% certainty allegory
[28:24] and Napoli will have a horrible season next year.
[28:25] I. Don't think it'll work. 90%
[28:27] certainty. You are a fucking hater.
[28:29] He's ass, he's ass, but look what we do with Milan now.
[28:31] We jump to a worse. I mean, look at look at where we
[28:33] are right now without him. Well, I think, I think Napoli
[28:36] right now is in the team is out of the hell.
[28:38] I'm not saying he's a safer. Brought you to bro you're
[28:41] you're. Trying everyone you're.
[28:42] Trying to blame the bus driver. That you're blaming.
[28:44] Everything. It's not a one year.
[28:46] I'm blaming everyone. I like the his tactics are
[28:50] outdated. He's a shit man.
[28:51] He's a shit manager. On the tactics.
[28:53] Champions League so he's going to have to be in multiple
[28:54] competitions. Agree.
[28:56] He is going to shit the bed and I'm so happy for it 'cause I
[28:59] hate Laurentiis and I hate I like me so.
[29:00] I think it's just a bad appointment because this is
[29:02] where Napoli could have went outside of the box and said OK,
[29:05] let's bring in someone with more.
[29:06] Ideas doesn't have new ideas. He actually, like, I find
[29:09] historically he has brought in an Ancelotti to the league like
[29:12] he's he's moved well, which is why he's always kind of hit.
[29:14] Won't even bring in an Ancelotti in the league.
[29:16] Ancelotti played in the league. Ancelotti was bro.
[29:18] Bringing Ancelotti to Napoli is huge.
[29:20] He brought in, he's only there for a year.
[29:22] Doesn't matter. The fact that actually he
[29:24] coached Napoli, Parma and he fell out, yeah.
[29:27] Yeah, they all fell out. And then I mean I can only I can
[29:29] give credit to De Laurentiis in the mid twenty 10s like Sari
[29:33] Madesari and like all like building that Napoli squad.
[29:36] But right now it just feels like I am down on Napoli not even
[29:41] trying to put bias. Well, I mean.
[29:42] Napoli, outside of Inter, are probably the most successful
[29:44] team in Italy in the last five years or seven years.
[29:47] I understand, but again, that's not saying much either.
[29:49] Like I do think that Napoli, the fact that Napoli or this has
[29:52] been this successful, even with the loss of Ossiem and Cavada,
[29:55] all those quick Kim, those players that were so integral to
[29:58] that, that insane Scudeto team by spaghetti like that was an
[30:01] insane team. But I like he's not going to
[30:02] replicate anything. Anopoli.
[30:04] I'm not, I'm not really high on it.
[30:05] There were there were so many project coaches in Italy
[30:08] especially that are coming up, like even a Fabio Grosso.
[30:10] I think this is a great time to do it because like you they you,
[30:13] they are still kind of like in a Gray area but somewhat on the
[30:16] way up I guess. Not a meal.
[30:18] I need to basically start from scratch.
[30:20] Roma kind of have something going on with Gaspedini a little
[30:23] bit, but we'll see what happens there.
[30:25] Como emerging as a as kind of a top team, but there's space
[30:29] right now for for you to kind of do something different.
[30:32] So flick like. Not, not a flick like the coach,
[30:34] but like just a little ignition, yeah.
[30:37] Not everyone's competing at the highest level right now where
[30:38] you have to keep the fucking status quo.
[30:40] Like you have to make make sure you stay at the top.
[30:42] Stay at the top, bro. You have room.
[30:44] Especially in city. Yeah, there's room everywhere.
[30:45] Yeah. So yeah, I'm not, I'm not down
[30:49] for. It and Vlowich OK, so we can go
[30:51] through this Vlowich whole situation now.
[30:54] It's not a big situation really. Just a lot of money if you.
[30:57] Wanted more money but it's also like your manager strictly asked
[31:01] for him to be resigned. Yeah, and I don't support, I
[31:04] don't support giving managers what they want.
[31:05] And what they want is stupid. But I think he wanted he wanted
[31:09] 8 mil. You're going to go and sign a
[31:11] striker, OK? I don't think Spiletti's mad.
[31:13] I really don't think he's mad. I think Spiletti's a reasonable
[31:16] manager and I think he he realized that the virtue is.
[31:19] Reasonable. I don't.
[31:20] Know what the reasonable spiletti.
[31:21] Understands. But like, let's see the
[31:22] reasonable beef. Everywhere he's been.
[31:24] It doesn't matter. I think that will not be a
[31:26] source of beef, though. Spiletti.
[31:27] The reason it would be, it would be ridiculous for Spiletti to
[31:31] expect the team to keep Blavitch's most paid player and
[31:34] said, yeah, OK, And that's what he wanted.
[31:35] That's what Blavitch wants. Let's say you go sign Soloft
[31:38] instead for 35 mil. It's gonna be Kolomani.
[31:40] I'm I'm assuming Kolomani for 40 mil.
[31:43] Yeah, let's just say Kolomani 40 mil and you give him like 150 KA
[31:46] week, OK. He's like, he's like he's going
[31:48] to get really low wages. I don't know I I go by year.
[31:51] Whatever 100 Kolomani is going to be on 150 KA week or
[31:55] whatever, something like that. So that's what that's seven mil
[31:59] or 6 mil. He's not going to be on that,
[32:00] but yeah, it's on the low end of that five mil 5.5.
[32:04] OK, whatever total package, we're going back to the total
[32:06] package that's going to be around 70 mil spent.
[32:10] Lalvich if you were 43,000,000 each year.
[32:13] Yeah, now I'm seeing he obviously I he wasn't he.
[32:17] I don't think he was expecting the same pay that he was
[32:19] getting. He wanted more than yield these.
[32:20] He wanted he wanted to be the most paid player on the team.
[32:23] Yeah, but the issue is he can count.
[32:25] He can. OK, he doesn't deserve more than
[32:27] yieldies, but he can then go and say I want more than Jonathan
[32:30] David. And John, yeah, but they get
[32:32] paid the same, yeah. Jonathan David and yieldies get
[32:34] paid the same. Exactly.
[32:35] So you can't just say you can't. You're not going to get paid
[32:37] more than yieldies when you have another shitty contract.
[32:39] I don't want a player that is he has the delusion that Cristiano
[32:43] Ronaldo has. Cristiano Ronaldo developed that
[32:46] delusion at past in past 30 and he had already conquered the
[32:49] world of football. Vlavich has that delusion and
[32:51] he's conquered nothing in the sport.
[32:53] He's nobody in in the Grand since he's come to Juventus, do
[32:57] you know? Have you seen his stats?
[32:58] Yeah, he only scored which more than 11 said he had goals one
[33:02] season. Yeah, yeah.
[33:05] He's been here for he's been here for five seasons and he's
[33:08] never scored over 20 goals. Yeah, it's insane.
[33:10] And he wants to be the most paid player in Syria, like and and he
[33:13] wasn't budging. He wasn't budging one bit.
[33:15] He wanted a massive signing bonus.
[33:16] He wanted to even go. He wanted a nowhere, nowhere.
[33:19] There's no suitors for him. He wanted a loyalty bonus.
[33:21] He wanted all these signing bullshit.
[33:23] Does he know who he is? He does he like.
[33:26] It's going to be a Turkey like he probably to compete.
[33:29] For Italiano, bring him to Basita Basita.
[33:31] Yeah, one of those. Yeah, that's a good shot,
[33:33] Millie. It's looking like a bad.
[33:35] I really lavage again. He does not know who he is, and
[33:39] he really doesn't. And I don't care next season if
[33:41] he joins the Super League and the Super League of the league.
[33:44] Super League. He joins the Super League and
[33:46] scores 35 goals and Oh yeah, you guys with.
[33:49] No, we didn't with. We had five years to do it at
[33:51] UV. You didn't do it like, I'm
[33:52] sorry, like. And his injuries are starting
[33:54] now. I do think that clubs, clubs
[33:56] like like at the the UVA Milan interstature need to kind of be
[34:00] like critical of these players can't just say like all will
[34:03] will keep him whatever. Like if a player doesn't
[34:05] perform, they need to leave like that.
[34:07] We have to, you have to think like a big club.
[34:10] I would have kept, I would have to leave.
[34:11] I would have put up with his his little attitude if.
[34:14] If he had results. If no, like I would have risked
[34:17] it because he's he is a this season when he played on this
[34:20] split. He's a good player and he fits
[34:21] his split system, but not when you not when you're asking that
[34:25] much money, not when you're asking that much money.
[34:27] It's it puts us in a bad financial position where we
[34:29] don't have that. We don't have that money to to
[34:31] splurge. I'd rather a Kolomani and I.
[34:36] Think that's going to be and I. He also, Vlavich wanted the
[34:39] future of being a captain. He wanted to be the most
[34:42] important player in the team. Like, those are not necessarily
[34:44] people you want to add to a project.
[34:46] Yeah, especially a struggling project at that.
[34:49] FIFA has come up with some new rules to add to the World Cup,
[34:53] so I wanted to go through them with you, see if you guys think
[34:56] these are good rules or bad rules.
[34:57] OK, VAR can now intervene for wrongly issued second yellow
[35:01] cards, mistaken identity incidents and situations where
[35:04] the wrong player is shown a yellow or red card.
[35:07] Great. I I like, I love that.
[35:08] I love that. Yeah, I don't.
[35:09] Understand how that wasn't implemented already.
[35:12] VAR will also be able to overturn incorrectly awarded
[35:14] corners if the review can be completely immediately.
[35:17] With can be completed immediately without delaying the
[35:20] restart. I think that's that happens a
[35:22] lot where they make the wrong calls in the corners.
[35:24] I just they say that it won't intervene, but I hope it's not a
[35:27] stoppage. It will.
[35:28] It will be a stoppage. I think there's no way of these.
[35:31] They're yeah, they're going to have to be like, but even even
[35:33] if it's just like the player, it's going to like the players
[35:37] going to start running to the corner flag and then it's going
[35:39] to be like, Oh no, now it's a goal kick.
[35:41] So now they're going to have to run back to their position.
[35:44] Yeah, it's like it's going to cause delays in the game now.
[35:46] But imagine in the 95th minute and it's like you're attacking,
[35:50] you're attacking and then the ref calls a goal kick but it's
[35:53] actually a corner. But maybe then you should only
[35:56] be able to review the corner if it ends up in a goal.
[35:59] So like if the corner ends up in a goal.
[36:03] Yeah, but it's still. It's still.
[36:04] And it wasn't correctly a reward awarded corner like.
[36:09] But Barbara, how many times do we watch and say that's a,
[36:13] that's a corner and then he calls a goal kick like we, we
[36:16] can do that instantly. So if our team can do that as
[36:18] well, that fast. Yeah, they're, they got the
[36:19] cameras there anyways, might as well.
[36:21] And they're. Already miked up so they.
[36:22] Really depends though because if not they're not able to do it
[36:24] that fast. Then you're delaying so many
[36:26] times in the game and. There's going to be growing
[36:28] pains like you're. We're going to see in the first
[36:29] couple of games how it goes because those calls will
[36:31] inevitably be called. So as the tournament goes on, I
[36:35] think it'll be a bit I. Don't think it's going to
[36:36] intervene. I don't, yeah.
[36:37] I don't think it'll be as intrusive, but these are good
[36:39] rules so. Far any player who deliberately
[36:41] covers their mouth during a confrontation will be shown a
[36:43] red card. Yeah, you see.
[36:45] Yeah. Well, I think it's good.
[36:46] I think, I think that's very good, but with in contact.
[36:48] With the Prestiani situation, like, it becomes a he said, he
[36:51] said, he said, it's a he said, she said.
[36:53] But it's just. There's there's also no reason
[36:56] to to Why are you covering your mouth unless you're saying
[36:58] something he's to. Friends like like sometimes when
[37:00] they talk with. Friends, a lot of times they.
[37:01] Want to cover my mouth as. Long as the refs, as long as the
[37:03] refs like they use some context. Yeah, exactly.
[37:06] But like with teammates, like often times there's a free kick
[37:08] and they like they'll do this to A to a teammate, like talking
[37:10] about who's going to take the free kick or like, or like
[37:14] you're talking to a guy after the game.
[37:15] But like if they use logic then the rules.
[37:17] Yeah, I'd assume this is not to your teammate then maybe just
[37:19] straight like if you're doing it to someone else that you don't
[37:21] know, then obviously like changes things.
[37:23] I, I feel like this might be like there'd be a lot of
[37:26] misinterpretation with something like this, especially if like a
[37:30] lot of times you get referees that aren't necessarily the same
[37:33] nation of these two of the two nations that are playing.
[37:35] So you don't know how they might interpret something.
[37:37] I could be completely different for them.
[37:39] So yeah, we'll see. Players treated on the pitch
[37:43] must remain off the field for one minute before returning,
[37:45] with exceptions for goalkeepers, head injuries, concussions,
[37:47] fouls resulting in a booking and pen takers.
[37:51] I I've never understood this rule like I don't.
[37:53] Know if so that you don't like they don't go down for an
[37:56] because then you're you have to play for 10 men for one minute.
[37:59] So they don't, they don't want you to go and fake an injury
[38:02] just to delay. The delay Let's have a leg
[38:04] crown. Then you have to stay off the
[38:06] pitch for a minute, yeah. I'm saying the heats can be
[38:09] brutal. Why is there even?
[38:10] Why is there a limit? Like once you're good, you go
[38:12] back on the field. Because you just wasted 30.
[38:14] Seconds. Yeah, you're, you're that's time
[38:16] wasting. No, as the game is going, you're
[38:19] you're saying it's time wasting, but you're saying like I get
[38:22] hurt, I get off the field. No, like here.
[38:25] Wait a minute. Let's say, let's say Argentinas
[38:28] up one nil in the 87th minute and there's a corner and well, I
[38:33] mean Martinez, it doesn't count because the goalkeepers doesn't
[38:35] play. Let's say Defender Romero lies
[38:37] down and he puts his leg up. His boy starts stretching him
[38:40] on. The field, yeah.
[38:41] After Argentina were stuck in their box for 10 minutes.
[38:44] Because they're just defending, I'm seeing.
[38:46] OK, I thought it was when you're outside of the field, you have
[38:48] to wait a minute. You do have to wait a minute.
[38:50] But why do you have to wait? You're injured.
[38:52] You get off the pitch, you wait one minute.
[38:54] Your your team, 10 men one minute.
[38:56] For one minute, wasted a full minute of the game, and as a
[38:59] punishment he's gonna have to wait on the side for a minute.
[39:01] So choose your injuries wisely. Wisely.
[39:04] Guys, you're saying like, I just think you should keep on playing
[39:07] like like. During while he's injured.
[39:10] I mean, depends. Yeah, depends.
[39:12] No play while he's injured. Play around.
[39:14] Them depends like obviously depends on the injury.
[39:16] That's why there's there's head injuries and then there's normal
[39:18] injuries. Like that's why they.
[39:19] If if you go down every second we have to stop the game, then
[39:22] obviously, like that's annoying for everyone, right?
[39:24] Yeah, but the issue is that if you don't create a rule book
[39:26] that's like by the word, then people start creating their own
[39:30] rules. Yeah, exactly.
[39:31] Like they're not going to listen to the rules, then that's.
[39:33] Seriously. Well, this is how I read.
[39:35] A cramp like yeah, 11 pick guys, we all take a turn and we all do
[39:38] 1 cramp injury for a minute. Exactly.
[39:40] Substituted players will have 10 seconds to leave the pitch.
[39:42] If they exceed that limit, the replacement must wait until the
[39:45] next stoppage and at least one minute of play has passed.
[39:47] I don't like that. I like.
[39:49] It yeah, I like it. That's a that's a time waste.
[39:50] Again, you have 10 seconds for the pitch where it gets fucked.
[39:52] I hope again I hope they use logic in this.
[39:54] Like like, let's say it's just a.
[39:56] Fucking master class or an all the master class?
[39:57] I want them to walk as slowly off the pitch and that's also
[40:00] true. Hit this.
[40:00] And standing over. Yeah, like, but that won't,
[40:04] that's not. If they're like on the complete
[40:05] opposite side of the pitch. Like.
[40:07] You get off. You have to get off the.
[40:08] Close. Yeah, he's have to just
[40:09] completely go. It's only really bad when
[40:11] players are in the middle of the pitch.
[40:13] Yeah, a 5 second countdown will be introduced for players
[40:15] delaying restarts. Failure to restart playing time
[40:18] will result in possession being awarded to the opposition.
[40:20] If occurs during a goal kick, your posting team will be
[40:21] awarded to a corner. They had this in the Prem this
[40:23] year but they didn't really enforce it.
[40:25] I've seen it called maybe they say 5 seconds, but ends up being
[40:29] like 10 seconds. Yeah, yeah.
[40:30] Like only really the extreme cases they actually end up
[40:33] calling, which is good. Whatever.
[40:34] Yeah. Yeah, as long as there's
[40:35] something. There, yellow cards will be
[40:36] wiped after the group stage and again after the quarterfinals to
[40:39] do suspensions from accumulated. I love cumulative, yeah.
[40:42] I hate it, but there was. There was too many suspensions.
[40:44] I agree and and also it the the players that would get a yellow
[40:48] card to get to skip one game and then they would be.
[40:51] Cleared. Out.
[40:52] Yeah, that would be so, so stupid.
[40:53] Purposeful yellows to skip the right.
[40:55] Game it avoids that now, and a three minute cooling break in
[40:57] each half. It's fine.
[41:00] That's about it. Mandatory 3 minutes.
[41:01] For me it's. Not good for us, yeah.
[41:03] Yeah, because that that kind of kills the momentous. 6 minutes,
[41:06] yeah, that's The thing is it kills momentum.
[41:08] Imagine you're getting pressed, you're getting pressed, pressed,
[41:09] pressed. Like imagine there was a cooling
[41:11] break in the Arsenal CL final, but yeah, it would have changed
[41:15] momentum. Was there not a cooling break I
[41:18] remember? They're watching Well, there
[41:19] might have been a cooling break. I think there was.
[41:21] Mistaking the penalty or the extra time.
[41:25] They should just strategically put them though.
[41:27] Like, yeah, if you have like some stoppage, then you use it
[41:31] to your advantage. But do we, do they, do the
[41:33] players need cooling brakes? Well, it's going to be hot.
[41:36] Yeah, sure. It's going to be summer in in
[41:38] the United States. It's going to be insanely hot.
[41:40] But most of them are in like very, very good stadiums.
[41:43] So like a lot of these stadiums are are indoor and cooled and
[41:46] whatever so. Yeah, but when it's like 40°
[41:48] outside, it doesn't matter. You know, I should, but they got
[41:51] some industrial shit going on there.
[41:52] Yeah, that's true. It's more like in like my life
[41:55] has tech on everything. Yeah, my life has AC on the on
[41:58] the pitch level. That's sick.
[42:00] But yeah, that that those were the topics that we had written
[42:02] down. We could introduce a bit our
[42:04] guest that we have coming on. So Ishmael Kone is a center
[42:07] midfielder replaced for Sasolo and he he's killed it this year
[42:11] in City. You guys can be more of like
[42:13] he's made. A.
[42:13] He's made a name for himself this.
[42:15] Season well, he's linked he's linked to UV Milan and internal,
[42:17] all three of your. Clubs was, but then we didn't
[42:19] make Chamazi, so I don't know if we even had the money to sign
[42:21] Cone, Yeah. Free run at Inter is what I'm
[42:23] hearing. I don't know.
[42:24] Free run, but just. To tell you he scored on Milan,
[42:27] he he had a master class against Milan the first game.
[42:29] Yeah, and I, I see, I think I see him this summer potentially
[42:32] getting a transfer. But he was so he started off in
[42:36] Montreal basically say well, same city as us.
[42:38] So we we actually showed up to his debut game I believe.
[42:43] So it was it was actually funny. He scored on his debut.
[42:47] So we were there for his debut game and then we had in CF
[42:50] Montreal, we had a sick first season where he was, he was
[42:53] bossing the midfield like every single game.
[42:55] Watford was watching. They bought him.
[42:57] And then after that from Watford, he went to Marseille
[43:01] and there was a famous, famous clip with him and the Zedebee
[43:04] also involved there. And you guys probably saw that
[43:07] clip. It went like extra viral.
[43:09] But then he's found a nice home in Syria and now he's, yeah,
[43:13] fluent. That was crazy.
[43:15] Yeah, we'll see it. We'll see in the you see in the
[43:16] pod. But yeah, now let's let's cut to
[43:19] the interview. The 1st guest on the Box of Box
[43:22] podcast. E Melcone welcome our boy for
[43:26] over 100 episodes. Yeah, the first guest, but I
[43:28] wouldn't want it to be anyone else.
[43:29] Yeah, it's fitting. It's fitting because we're for
[43:32] Montreal. We Rep Montreal all the time on
[43:33] the podcast and some sometimes people, they don't understand
[43:37] the connection like that people from Montreal have to Montreal.
[43:40] It's such a special city. So it's fitting that you that
[43:42] you are the first person to come on the podcast.
[43:45] So it's it's actually pretty interesting.
[43:48] But it feels surreal, honestly, just the conversation.
[43:51] I didn't see the conversation. We had that when I met you guys
[43:54] the first time. And now we're here today.
[43:56] Like I'm really happy for you guys, but it's also like a, like
[44:00] you said, like a full circle moment for real.
[44:02] So I'm really happy, honestly, I'm really happy to be.
[44:04] Imagine that, right Travelling, the like, travelling the world,
[44:07] playing in three different countries, and it all comes back
[44:10] to when we were talking about a story off camera.
[44:12] How he he was at our barbers right before his move to
[44:15] Watford, that was. Was that your last haircut?
[44:17] Before that was my last cut before leaving, yeah.
[44:19] And and then he met Millie and he got to sign, he got to sign
[44:23] one of our Canada shirts. And and now like we're all,
[44:25] we're meeting back up in. Toronto, he met like, we met at
[44:28] different stages in like our own paths, you know, like we, we
[44:31] were just starting out there, like just had a couple tables,
[44:34] couple of shirts and that's it. And then you were, you were
[44:36] heading over to England and then now bro, we're back here.
[44:39] Like it's, it's kind of crazy, man.
[44:41] It's it's been such a ride. Not saying whatsoever that we're
[44:44] we've had the level of success. We are not on the level.
[44:46] That Coney has had, this is a man, if you don't know,
[44:48] currently plays for Saswallow in Italy, he's played for
[44:51] Marseille, he's played at Watford.
[44:53] Man is well traveled. Ren also like very well.
[44:56] Yeah, yeah. That's.
[44:58] That's, that's, that's crazy. I mean, we, we, we make, we make
[45:01] football podcasts, but that's, that's a serious achievement.
[45:03] And he's become, he's become the face of Canada to an extent.
[45:06] Like you're, you're showcasing your skills even in Italy as
[45:09] well. Like it's cool to see Canadians
[45:11] abroad. I feel like that's that's a big
[45:13] move. Yeah, yeah, 100% especially so I
[45:16] think it's the next step for us just going out there, just prove
[45:19] that we belong, yeah, as Canadians also, like obviously
[45:22] there's going to be that tag of like, is he really able to play?
[45:25] But then now I feel like with Alfonso and Jonathan and even
[45:29] myself now, the stuff that we're able to produce that they want
[45:32] the next generation of those type of players.
[45:34] So it's so good to see when our players are abroad, they're
[45:37] doing well. Even Tejon, I forgot to mention
[45:39] Tejon, Kyle Junior. So yeah, just a multiple boys
[45:44] in. Europe and it seems like, it
[45:45] seems like every month more players are popping up, more
[45:47] Canadians from academies and here there.
[45:49] It's like Canada's Canada is we, we like to say that Canada is
[45:53] becoming like a Croatia of football.
[45:54] Smaller population. Yeah, a massive impact.
[45:56] Have you seen that kid that went from LaSalle to like Lav in
[46:00] French? No, France.
[46:01] I saw, I heard. About this, recently he was
[46:03] playing in LaSalle. I literally like a CPO and then
[46:07] you got called to like love. I don't know if you guys love
[46:08] love, but love is like. In France.
[46:10] Yeah, it's like a big. Maris, Maris, Maris.
[46:13] Came there like a lot of like a lot of talented players came
[46:16] from there. Like what's his name?
[46:17] I think it's yes or something I need to go get up.
[46:20] But like, it's a little Arab kid, OK, but it's just super
[46:23] talented. Talents coming up, man.
[46:25] Yeah, it seems like a bunch of Canadian players you had like a
[46:27] super quick rise. So like from within, like we
[46:30] can, we can speak about like you started off I playing for NDG if
[46:35] I'm not mistaken. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[46:36] So was that your? Was that your first my?
[46:38] First my first team team in Canada, Montreal first team
[46:42] NDGNDG Panthers, Yeah. You're you're one year younger
[46:46] than us. Or two years.
[46:47] We're 2425. I'm 23 now.
[46:49] Yeah, but you were. Playing two you were playing
[46:51] with a year older. And then did you know I was
[46:54] playing my age? Oh, your age?
[46:55] But then when I went to I was playing my age.
[46:56] And then the last year before I left to go to like trial in
[46:59] Belgium and stuff, I was playing with like 3 years older.
[47:01] OK, sick so. We got a friend on the podcast
[47:04] we talking about all the time because he plays in our FPL
[47:06] league, our fantasy Soccer League.
[47:08] It's it's we call him Bellini. Bellini's Blues.
[47:10] That's his team name, yeah. Blues, do you want to tell him
[47:13] about the Capitano Bellini? They don't know about Capitano.
[47:18] They don't know about it bro. They only see a different
[47:21] version like Capitano was. It was a bulldog.
[47:23] It was a dog. That's a good way to describe.
[47:26] Him, yeah, He would hunt him. He would hunt you, everyone on
[47:28] the pitch. But he was a super top guy, fun
[47:31] to play with, you know, like he would live his out his heart on
[47:33] the pitch. Yeah, but yeah, top guy,
[47:35] obviously. Really top.
[47:36] Top we play with them. Yeah, shout out to believe you.
[47:39] Shout out to. Shout out Sixer too.
[47:41] I don't know. You remember OK #60?
[47:46] 9 #69 you were 69. I left back who?
[47:50] Who does this bro? Who does?
[47:53] But you know, you know, actually like people, they'll realize, I
[47:55] swear. Like Michael was a baller.
[47:57] Like 6. That was a baller.
[48:02] What's his level now? I don't know.
[48:03] What you guys? Play.
[48:04] But bro. He's gained a couple of pounds,
[48:06] bro. Yeah, for sure, obviously.
[48:08] But back in his day, six hours, actually. 6 The Premier shifting
[48:14] with the left foot. You guys, you.
[48:16] Guys are Marco Marco to Anyo. They had good things to say
[48:19] about. It, that's what I'm saying.
[48:20] He was a he was a player, bro. Yeah.
[48:22] I don't know now. Me.
[48:23] I don't know what you're doing now, Michael.
[48:25] But he's like. In a day six, that was a player
[48:27] for sure, for sure. It's honestly like, just to see
[48:30] you, like, how close of a relationship there is, like with
[48:33] our friends and your friends. Yeah.
[48:35] And just seeing the rise that you did, too.
[48:37] Like grassroots. Yeah, Grassroots.
[48:39] He he well, you're, I don't know.
[48:41] I don't remember. I think it was your debut.
[48:43] We were actually at the game. Santos Laguna.
[48:46] Santos Laguna. You scored.
[48:47] No. Yeah.
[48:48] So 301. So Bellini texted us.
[48:50] He's like, you know, my boy's playing in the game and, like,
[48:52] might be playing in the game tonight.
[48:53] He's on the bench, like. And we were like, OK, we might
[48:56] as well buy tickets. The tickets were cheaper.
[48:57] We might as well go. So it was actually funny that we
[48:59] were there for your debut and your.
[49:00] Your we were in the away section.
[49:02] Yeah. I don't know how we got stuck in
[49:03] the await second. And bro, I bet on you to score.
[49:07] I bet on him to score. But the odds were horrible
[49:09] because they they never saw they, they just put a very safe,
[49:12] like a safe line. But you had supporters since day
[49:15] one, bro, supporters back in and I and I guess now, man, you're
[49:19] playing in the top five league, bro, you're playing instead of
[49:21] yeah, like, and the amount of changes that you've seen
[49:24] throughout your career, like how has it been adopting and
[49:26] everything, especially in a new environment?
[49:29] I'll be honest, it's been, it was, it was sometimes like crazy
[49:34] because when you go from different cultures, different
[49:36] languages. So let's say I was in England, I
[49:38] speak English and I go to France.
[49:40] Both I speak French also both of the languages are easier.
[49:42] But then you go to Italy, it's like you speak all different.
[49:46] Languages. Now, Bellini.
[49:47] Bellini actually told us he sent him a voice message in the.
[49:50] Italian. And he's like, bro, I don't
[49:52] speak Italian. Yeah.
[49:54] Yeah, no, but no, no, I actually speak it.
[50:01] So start a conversation, OK? I can't believe this.
[50:11] Back How do you say food again, Chibo?
[50:13] Chibo says it's a pacho bonjari Tutu valente.
[50:17] How do you learn so quick like? But I realized it's very similar
[50:21] to French. Yeah, very, very.
[50:22] Very, very similar. So I was like I had so last year
[50:25] I was with the Italian coach in Marseille and he always only
[50:28] speak it Italian. Really.
[50:30] Yes, only speak Italian. You had to translate with him.
[50:32] So then as he speak, I'm like I realized like the words are kind
[50:35] of similar. So then I go to Italy and I just
[50:38] started picking it up really Like I had like 4 classes and
[50:42] that's insane, yeah. The coach speaks in Italian and
[50:44] then there's a translator. There's a translator,
[50:46] everything. Yeah, like quick, funnier story
[50:48] about it when I was in Marseille.
[50:49] So he had two translators. I had an English one and a
[50:51] French 1 cause the squad, most of the squads put French.
[50:53] But then he bought like Mason Greenwood, he was speaking all
[50:56] the English. So somebody was speaking all the
[50:58] English. So like he would speak.
[51:00] It's like, let's say he speaks and then he speaks and then he
[51:02] speaks. So he like, is this a like, is
[51:05] this a show? Like, is this funny?
[51:06] Like at first meeting I was like, bro, I'm actually lost.
[51:09] Like what's going on? And the guys were like, yeah,
[51:11] it's actually a real thing. Like this is actually what going
[51:13] on. So yeah.
[51:14] How does that as a player does that like you?
[51:17] You listen to you listen to the Zebedee first.
[51:19] I listened. I look at him, but then I'm
[51:22] waiting for the French response at the same time.
[51:24] But then after, when I started, like really picking it up, it
[51:27] was like I just looked at it really.
[51:28] It was pretty easy. And how, how was it like, 'cause
[51:30] I mean from like 2 years you went from playing like starting
[51:33] off in MLS to almost get it. Like I think it was three years
[51:36] actually to getting a transfer to Marseille that I think at
[51:38] that point, like it was one of your dream clubs to play for.
[51:40] Yeah. Like, how was that getting that?
[51:43] I don't know. How does it work?
[51:44] Like let us know transfers behind the scenes.
[51:46] Like, how does that work? How do you get a call like, oh,
[51:47] you're this is, this is what's? Happening.
[51:49] Do you have like selection? Basically, So basically, how
[51:53] does it work? They will reach out to your
[51:54] agent, obviously this is the one that represents you in front of
[51:57] the both clubs. So then Merced will come in this
[52:00] situation, they will come to watch and be like we're
[52:02] interested in this player, what's the price?
[52:04] And then they will find a price. Call my agent, they'll tell the
[52:07] price and it'll be like, yeah, like that's fine for us.
[52:09] We'll pay. So then once that like
[52:11] confirmed, like they actually want to put the money on the on
[52:13] the table, my agent will come and be like, hey, this club like
[52:16] interested. So then I was at Copa America.
[52:19] I was just having fun doing my Copa America.
[52:23] Nick, Nick, my agent calls me. He's like, you know, we have
[52:25] Marcel on the table. Like they didn't want you to
[52:27] come there. He's like who?
[52:29] Wait, what? No, Marseille.
[52:31] I was like, yeah, but it was like, yeah, Marseille is really
[52:33] interested. So there for me it was it was
[52:37] really like like, well, like if you work hard, like stuff could
[52:41] really happen for you know, like you need to keep going, you need
[52:44] to keep striving. It's not easy.
[52:46] But then if you have that passion and you really have the
[52:48] hard work, like you could really make it.
[52:50] So it was kind of like a a validation of like all the years
[52:53] of work that I put in for exactly approval.
[52:56] So yeah, this what happened. So then from there, boom boom,
[53:00] we did everything online and then after Copa America it.
[53:04] Must have been so fast. Like everything, the thing I
[53:07] realized about this world, it could go fast.
[53:10] But both ways. Oh yeah, yeah, both ways.
[53:13] Like, yes, but like super fast. Yeah.
[53:16] And that's why that's why I say like to some of the players that
[53:18] like have a difficult job, especially like in in in early
[53:22] moments, like in six months, all this you could forget about.
[53:25] Yeah, yeah. Like you don't have to dwell
[53:27] yourself or think like you're not good enough.
[53:28] Like, just go back to work. Yeah, keep your head down.
[53:31] Just go back to work and you'll be deftly fired.
[53:33] Now, now there's a good. Mentality.
[53:34] Ismaël is on a on a schedule, so maybe sometime if you're in
[53:37] Montreal, we can get some more time.
[53:38] We should. But.
[53:39] Just one final question because we do, we speak a lot about city
[53:41] on our podcast. So we just want to know like who
[53:44] has the best atmosphere and and other you can't say Sasola,
[53:47] these are right. Obviously Sasola has the best
[53:50] atmosphere. Who has the best?
[53:52] Oh, I know you guys are waiting for this.
[53:55] I'm you. You got this, Inter, AC Milan,
[53:57] you got some, you got some serious performances versus our
[54:00] teams. I'll be honest, the best
[54:05] atmosphere. Drop the master class against
[54:06] all three, by the way. By the way, you guys should
[54:09] check it out. The best crazy go sphere has to
[54:14] be Sansio. Sorry.
[54:16] OK. OK.
[54:17] Open up I I got. The honor and read the honor.
[54:20] And so that's that's why I said Sansio first, but.
[54:22] Try to play the part part I. Got half of the room.
[54:24] Outfit, but I thought he. Was getting away with that.
[54:26] The best, the best one was against Milan.
[54:30] Thank you, thank you, thank you. I did great.
[54:33] You scored. I can't.
[54:34] Believe what I. Scored scoring at the Sansito.
[54:36] They made us feel like, yo, you guys are not wanted at the
[54:40] stadium, you know, like you guys are.
[54:42] They brought the hate. You brought the hate like
[54:44] whistle every time we got the ball whistle enter like
[54:47] obviously it wasn't love for us, but like it was calmer, you
[54:50] know? Yeah.
[54:50] I just feel like with enter like did you so much use to success
[54:55] that is like? You're telling me you're playing
[55:00] against Madrich Ravio putting in a master class?
[55:03] That was that was a different, that was that was a different
[55:05] vibe. But yeah, I would say Milan.
[55:07] Yeah, anyways, thank you for coming.
[55:09] We really appreciate it bro. It's a long time coming, man,
[55:12] Long time coming. I'm really happy to to have made
[55:14] an appearance on No I'm. Not 100% if you're ever in
[55:16] Montreal. Sure, we'll do some come back.
[55:18] On longer we can get into your whole back jury and stuff like
[55:20] that. Be there, yeah.
[55:21] OK, June. I'll be the game in June.
[55:23] OK, so June something June. 100% bro.
[55:27] See you guys next year. That was the episode you should
[55:29] too. Good chow. 2T Chow.
[55:30] Peace out. I wish you had more time with
[55:32] Coney. Yeah.
[55:33] Yeah, that was that. That would have been a nice
[55:34] long. Like not going to lie, it went
[55:36] on a little bit more off camera afterwards.
[55:38] We just, we couldn't stop. We could stop asking questions
[55:40] and just like talking because when you have like, I don't
[55:42] know, I feel like I felt a little bit more personal because
[55:44] we have a couple of friends in common.
[55:46] Feel like we started around the same.
[55:47] We're both Montreal, so like, I'm glad, I'm glad to see.
[55:51] You relatable because he plays and said, yeah, so he's playing
[55:53] against our favorite teams and he's telling us the the
[55:56] underlying things that are happening on the pitch that we
[55:58] might not see. We're never going to hear the
[55:59] end of of Michael. Oh my.
[56:02] Goodness, yeah, no, I thought we cut that part off.
[56:04] And no, we didn't cut it. We're going to keep it in.
[56:06] There's going to be. That was crazy that he, he, he
[56:09] was good, bro. I I honestly, I don't think I'd
[56:11] ever live it down if someone told me I was good.
[56:13] Top player like that world, A World Cup player saying that
[56:15] like you low key had it. Yeah, but we had.
[56:18] A good week with we. We actually played.
[56:20] He was, he was playing with our Sunday league.
[56:22] That happens on Mondays. But he played well.
[56:24] He played well this week. Played well, yeah.
[56:26] That's a rare occurrence, no? Rare occurrence, Michael, if you
[56:29] listen, rare occurrence. But even Matthew, they were
[56:32] bling Blues. Yeah, yeah, Bling Blues.
[56:34] Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah, it was, it was
[56:36] honestly, that was our first interview that we've done on the
[56:38] channel. It was just kind of cool because
[56:41] it it was kind not, not it was someone that we were kind of
[56:45] targeting, if that makes sense. It's because it makes so much.
[56:47] Sense fits the box the box it does.
[56:49] Yeah, so it makes sense. Weird, weird weird way to say.
[56:52] Yeah. I just find like that's a player
[56:53] we always like tend to mention once in a while on the pod or
[56:56] like. I'm glad he popped our cherry.
[57:00] Man. Our podcasting, our.
[57:02] Podcasting guest Cherry? Guest cherry?
[57:03] I guess it's one way of putting it.
[57:06] Deflowered our podcasting. OK, you're you're really like
[57:09] now you're no but. They say that that's a, that's a
[57:11] you've. Floured our podcast.
[57:13] That's the first time that examination has been set in the
[57:16] human history. Deflowered, our podcast.
[57:19] Cherry, that's never been I. Didn't say I didn't add Cherry.
[57:22] You did that, you freak. Now you're getting don't get
[57:25] sexual with it. It's crazy.
[57:27] He, he was our first guest and it was a nice guest to have and
[57:30] I'm happy he came on and now hopefully in the future that we
[57:33] have Alfonso Davies more, more guests.
[57:35] And he boss, we, we just watched him play against Ireland.
[57:37] He bossed the pitch also. So he was for Canada, Canada,
[57:41] even Jesse Marsh said. He's going to be like a.
[57:43] Pillar Scoring own goals and friendlies.
[57:45] Oh yeah, O'Brien. OTP.
[57:47] Everton's best, by the way. No whatever bro, you should've.
[57:50] Went to the game, told him FPL. Yeah.
[57:52] FPL I didn't know I didn't have O'Brien this year in FPL.
[57:55] Troy, I think. Troy.
[57:56] Parrot does he play in? The championship?
[57:57] No. He plays in the Air Divisa right
[57:59] now. Troy Parrot, Yeah.
[58:01] So it's a recognizable name. Scored.
[58:03] Yeah. He played for soccer, he played
[58:04] Tottenham, played for Tottenham, was a hyped up youngster and
[58:07] this year he actually scored twenty goals in the Air Divisse.
[58:10] Ball or. Yeah, so he's going to Milan
[58:11] next. Well, potentially.
[58:14] Next up. He's actually replaced.
[58:16] He replaced Santi Santi. Santi came from PSV or AZ or
[58:20] Feynor Fainor Santi. Yeah.
[58:22] Fainorov, Trey Pirati, AZ Altmar.
[58:25] So he played with Mihailovich. I don't know.
[58:28] I think he probably joined by the time Yalovich left.
[58:30] Yeah, yeah. Yeah, anyway, that was episode
[58:34] 114, first podcast in the new studio.
