## Transcript

[0:00] The following podcast is a Dear Media production. Damn, we having so much fun. I know, this is fun. We are. We got to bring it back with a part two. And keep this thing going. All right, well, let's take a caller. Let's take a caller.
[0:27] Hey, you're here with Lex and Drea from Poor Minds and April in Savannah. What's your name? Where are you from? And what's your crazy? Hi, my name is Lex. I'm 39. I was in a previous relationship with a female in the past. She had two daughters, but she couldn't conceive any more child. So I'm not being a crazy guy. I left the relationship because I just didn't want intimacy alone. So I'm looking for another relationship where I could have a house.
[0:52] And do you think that's crazy for me to abandon a woman that had kids, two daughters, and she can't conceive any more kids than I wanted? And I was a young man at the time in my mid-28. I really do want other babies in the future. And I've been looking for somebody, not only of my melanin, but other melanin, but
[1:13] I can't find no other women out there. It's like every time I try, they don't give me a chat. I don't know what's wrong. Well, I don't necessarily think that that's selfish because I feel like you know what you want. You know what I mean? And if you want to have kids and you want to have more kids,
[1:28] then maybe you should find someone else. Now, when you say abandoned, did you just like... Leave in the middle of the night. Just leave and never say anything else? You never like had a formal breakup and let her know, this is not going to work for me? Or how did you do it? I have my own personal bachelor. And she had a one-bedroom, a two-bedroom for her and her two daughters. And me and her was co-parenting in the marriage. So we were living together in the one-bedroom and I had my other bachelor away.
[1:57] make somebody else stay there. And then after we got into a little argument, I decided to just grab my stuff and go move back into my bachelor, leave her and her two daughters,
[2:07] And ever since that, that's been like a curse for me to find another relationship. I haven't been able to find another female that way. Well, that's why. Giving a ban. That's why. Give me this time of day. Yeah, you know why? You know why? No, no, no, no, no. You know why? Because you... I've been looking all over for a relationship. I can't find love. No, you can't. Because you just left. Because you got karma. That's your problem. You got karma. You left that woman with them kids. Now, listen, you don't have to want the relationship. That's not karma. That's like curse.
[2:35] No. Well, maybe it's a curse. I don't know what it is. But I have to say, you're supposed to handle things in a certain manner. So because you were younger, I think you didn't have the maturity level to have a hard conversation. So you just pick up and leave. Did you ever talk to the kids again? Did you have a conversation with the kids? I mean, it's just there are certain things that you should have done. So I think some. I've been at my place. I've been at my place for the last.
[3:03] 10 years, the last 10 years I've been at my place. My stepdaughter never came by and visited me once. My ex never called me. I know her birthday is October 25th. Every time I think about going to an old place and see she's there with her mom, I never went back and checked.
[3:19] I just said, how come she never called me on my birthday? My birthday is June 13th. She never called me. October 30th, October 25th comes. I always think of her birthday. And I'm like, she never called me. She never responds. So I guess, let me just leave it as is. They mad at you. I just can't see. They're mad and disappointed. I go to the abortion store last week. They're mad and disappointed and their feelings are hurt.
[3:41] I'm so sorry, sir, but the reality of it is... I'm also hurt as a man. As a man looking for a companionship at 39 years of age, a 1986 baby,
[3:51] It's hard to find love in this world. Well, not born in the 80s. Born in the 80s, 1986. I just, I have to say... It's hard for 1986 babies to find love. Yeah. Well, you know what? Maybe you should go work on forgiveness before the end of the year and go try to rekindle and just say, hey, I'm sorry for the way I left things. So you need to just...
[4:11] rekindle and apologize to that family and try to get your life together. I agree. I agree. I think that you definitely need to go on an apology tour. Yeah, I'm really looking for love. But I thank you, ladies, for giving me the opportunity today. Thank you so much. Okay, well, you have a blessing. Bye. Bye.
[4:28] Come on. Bye. Good luck. But hopefully I find love. Hopefully I find love. I hope so too. I hope you do too. Yes. We hope that for you too. But we gonna put you on a prayer. Bye. No forgiveness ain't gonna work. Goodbye. Thank you. See you later. Bye.
[4:43] uh-uh. Oh, he was ready to hang up. He said, okay, bye. Thank you. He disregarded everything that he did and just said, but I'm looking for love and I can't find it. But you know what I hate that a lot of adults do that I see when they go through a breakup and they have maybe like stepchildren involved. They're like, well, they didn't reach out to me. You're the adult. They're the kid. Like, why do you want a kid to reach out to you? Like, that's not their job. That's a child. You know what I'm saying? No, it's not at all. Also, you just up and left. He also had a foot out the door anyways because he said he kept
[5:13] His bachelor pad. So what were your intentions? I didn't like him. Yeah. I didn't like him. I didn't like that either. Because he was trying to make it seem like, is he wrong for leaving because she couldn't have more kids? But it's like, it's more context. Yeah. You know they love to leave it out. It's a lot of pieces that you leaving at. Right? But I think, no, he wasn't wrong for leaving. I don't think you should be with somebody that you think you love.
[5:36] that you don't think a conversation came before that that she didn't have more children before they even got into a relationship right right well maybe they tried to have kids and it didn't work out because they was married okay and he was like I can't do this okay
[5:51] I had a cousin like that. She had got married. Well, she had got engaged to this guy. She already had two kids. And then she got her tube side. And she told the man, like, and everything. He said he was cool with it. He wasn't tripping. He didn't care about having kids. And then they got engaged. She moved to another city for him. And then I guess one day he woke up and he was like, no, actually, I do want kids. And he called the engagement. Yeah, I think people, I think...
[6:18] You shocked about that? I think that's crazy. But she told him from day one. I don't think people really know what they want. Yeah. And I think when it comes to kids, that's a very sensitive situation. And I think that that also applies to people like these young men dating older women. Yeah. Which is a very big thing. And people being like, no, I'm cool with it. No, you're not. Yeah. Yeah.
[6:46] No, you're not. You're not cool with it because I'm not going to be able to, I'm speaking specifically to myself, I'm not going to be able to have three kids. Like, so if that's really what you want, I don't think that that person should settle for having one kid if they want three. If they want three. I agree. Like, you should have the options. And obviously it's other things. Surrogacy, this, that, when you have access and money. But I don't think people, I think to have to make a decision on love
[7:13] and know at this point, like, you're not going to have kids, I also don't think it's fair. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. I think it's hard for somebody like Lexa saying, okay, well, maybe 10 years ago you felt differently and now you're like, this is my season, whatever. And your partner's like, okay, well, I want a baby now. Like, that may not work for you. So I feel like kids is a...
[7:35] Kids to me is a sticky situation. And I think that's also my challenge with like big age differences is people don't take that in consideration because I feel like if you are an older woman dating someone very younger, like you're kind of taking away that choice for them. Yeah.
[7:54] And people be like, oh, it's cool. It's cool. No, it's not. Until you wake up one day and it's night. Yes. And I don't think you should have to decide if it's cool. Yeah. At 28, 30, 35, 34. Like, I don't think you should have to decide that. Yeah. So I think that, yeah, I think that that's a hard subject. Yeah. Sticky.
[8:13] I mean, I say that all the time. I'm 34. If I meet a man and he's like, I want five kids, who haven't five? Maybe two. Maybe three. Five? That's a lot of kids. And then people are like in love and then trying to settle and being like, I have so many couples I know that have two kids and the husband want a third and people disputing over a third. That's crazy.
[8:38] So I think, and then we have our girlfriend, Fat, Fat and Toby. They got, what, six? Oh, they be popping them out. Yeah. But I think that works for them, though. Yeah, it works for them. They want the same thing. It's such a beautiful thing. And they be rolling with all. All of them. Four or five. Five.
[8:54] The baby be playing the drums. Yes, they got five. They all be working. Yes, yes, they all be working. But they love it. Like, that's what works. And they travel with all five kids. They go on tour with all five kids. Like, that's the lifestyle they chose. But I think some people don't, to make somebody decide that when you're fresh in a relationship, it's hard. Yeah.
[9:14] Yeah. That's interesting. I started my family young. First at 18, second at 20, third at 28. Mm-hmm. And I knew right then and there, that was it. That was it. So, sir, I'm telling you right now. Yeah. This is it for me. That's it. Yeah. I'm done. My childbearing years is over. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
[9:34] I hope you're lying. I hope you're on the same page. Yeah. I was very firm in that. But imagine being, like, I think that's like, if you had Bronny at 18 and you said at that point, I'm done. Like, I'm not going to do this no more. Yeah.
[9:53] Like, I just think people and some people don't have a choice. Like some women do not have a choice. Like you just can't do it anymore. Like, so I think it's just like really understanding that and the flexibility. But I think that that's a real subject conversation. Yeah.
[10:08] Was that an easy conversation to have? Like when you said that? So no. And I was about to say, I don't want to tell my business, but you know, certain things you can do. So you, so you don't have a baby. Okay. Right. Um, and that was one of the conversations that did come up is like, you know, do I save,
[10:24] some of, from him, just in case. I was offended. What the fuck did you mean? Yeah. I'm not having, I said, I'm not having a word. What are we doing? What are we doing? But that was, that was a very uncomfortable conversation. Obviously, we decided in the end, like, you know what it was, but like,
[10:45] he was aligned and then he was aligned with not saving. So, okay, you know. But I think that that's like real conversations that people act like they don't need to have. Yeah. Like, no, I'm cool with it. I'm in love with you. Like, the love part of fall off and then you can't talk about the hard stuff. Yeah. But I think in the beginning, honestly, it'd be more lust.
[11:06] why you making these decisions? Do you know what I'm saying? Yes. And then it's like, when it gets down, he's like, wait, I don't even really love this person at all. So then you're like, okay, I changed my mind. If I think, and you made it a good point by saying like, if you were 18 and made that decision, the stuff that I was saying yes to and no to at 18, in my mind now, like what? And I think about it, and then you were being nice because you said 28, 29. They date these 21, 22, 23 year olds. Like the girls. The older women?
[11:36] Wait a minute, 21? Yes, absolutely. Oh, wow. My ear be in the streets. They be dating them young boys. They do. As soon as they get that contract, it's hot. It's hot. Wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm telling you. Hold on one second. What contract? You know what contracts. No, what contracts? They be going to the league. The NBA's. Oh, they're dating. Oh, they're dating. Oh, my God, no. Women in their 40s.
[12:01] no I am not it's like a thing it's very it's a lot a lot of that is going on so they're they're plotting on these young men basically yeah but I will say it is a it is some plotting but I have noticed a lot of the young guys they're like oh well we like older women they're more mature they know that you know those people have mommy issues
[12:21] Yes, it's a lot of that. Because we talk about it all the time. It be some boys in my DM, I'm like, you the same age as my nephew. Yeah. You don't even know how to clean your drawer. Is that ever something that you worry about, like with your son? No. No? No, because they know their mama's crazy, eh? Yeah. I fight mamas, daughters, aunties. Ooh. I'm not above it. Period. Yeah.
[12:46] And I'm also like a very like reasonable parent. Okay. So let me hear you out first. Something that's too crazy is too crazy. Like we not doing that. But like a couple of years, my son's girlfriend now is older than him, but like months. Like it's not that big of a deal. Yeah. Months is not big. But yeah, no. I'm not. Hell no. Yeah. It's crazy. It is crazy. I didn't know it was like that. There's a lot of people that be doing that. Yes.
[13:14] I actually know someone who was in a relationship with a younger guy. Now, he's not in, like, the league or anything, but, like, she's 45 or something like that, and he's, like, 27. I mean, I was in a relationship with somebody way younger than me, too, but... Did you like it? Loved it.
[13:40] But she was reminiscing. And his last name.
[13:48] But I loved him. Yeah. Because he was my friend for two years. And I was like my nigga. And I loved him. Oh, I loved him. Oh, I loved him. But my concern from the beginning ended up my concern at the end. And I really trust my gut in everything I do. And at the beginning, I was like, oh.
[14:15] I don't know. He was so convincing. It was a battle being the friend on the other side. It was a battle, but she was so like that. I wanted to see my friend like that. You know what I'm saying? So while there were like concerns, I'm like, but you happy. And I mean, he was really convincing. He didn't just convince me. He convinced everybody. He convinced Savannah. He convinced Adele. He convinced...
[14:40] All of our friends. That's some hard people to... Adele! Yes, like everybody. Like he convinced... Adele was on the fence. Adele was on the fence. Adele was on the fence for real. How she was. Yes. She was on the fence. But she was welcoming. Yeah. Like we spent holidays together. They were welcoming. Because she was so...
[14:59] Happy. Yeah. I was so happy. And that's all that matters. No. Well, I mean, in the moment. Yeah, in the moment. Goodbye. Yeah. I think I have to, in the moment, I think...
[15:12] And I was crazy fearful. Like, because I hadn't been in a relationship in 13 years since my husband died. So it was my first real relationship. The first person to meet my boys in 13 years. Like, it was a big life moment. Like,
[15:29] So I just think I like looking back on it, like it's so much about it that opened my heart up. And I'm so thankful for it. I'm also sad I lost my friend and we're not friends anymore. Like and like it was so much about the relationship that changed me. I think same for him. But I think the main concerns was like being at two different places in life. And Ken, you know, I think a lot of people attempt to.
[15:56] to dunk the ball and they just like a little bit short. Yep. You know what I mean? Because they're also not supposed to be there. Uh-huh. You know what I mean? Like you're not supposed to be able to dunk the ball at that point. Right. You're not supposed to have a Chanel bag at 25. Like you don't have to have those type of goals. So I think that that is hard. And then I think with the scenario you just gave of like a 40 something year old courting a 21 year old, like he has the money to,
[16:25] to be able to engage in those type of relationships, but damn sure not the maturity. Have you had a conversation with a 21-year-old? Like, when you be talking to your son, like, I know you be like, okay. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, I'm like, how do y'all even, how do y'all do that? They doing it, champ. So I just think it's like, even that is like, money doesn't bring those other things. Like, money doesn't bring maturity. Money doesn't, I'm not somebody's parent. You know what I mean? Like, and I think,
[16:53] some of these relationships are so dysfunctional because of how people were raised right agree so they looking for something like oh my mom wasn't around or whatever maybe their mom was around and it's just a weird dynamic like yeah so then you're looking on that in a relationship and you don't want to be nobody's mama yeah i i am good on that yeah lord have mercy yeah i can't do it yeah that'd be my fear with the dating someone younger i just
[17:17] feeling like, yeah, what are we going to have in common? Men are already mature at a slower rate in the first place. So if you 27, mentally, you're like 21, 22. What am I going to do with it? I think it also depends on how somebody live their life. Like some guys are the mature one in their family. But I just feel like our life is...
[17:40] is very different from the average person's life. Like people just don't get it. Like you don't, you can't really relate until you are in it to be with like, Oh, y'all get us. Like, you know what I mean? It just clicks. And I think that that is really what people don't realize is like knowing that is not like you're less than, because people always think is, Oh, I'm less than I'm not as good as you. I'm like, it's not that it's just like, we were just not at the same place. So like understanding that. So y'all got a segment on your show of,
[18:10] And so tell us all about it. How does it work? And we're going to take some voicemails from it. Okay. Go ahead. Okay. So we have this segment called Pour Your Heart Out. So a lot of times we like give advice or people just want to get things off their chest. And we just kind of hear them out, give them some good advice. And, you know, sometimes we say we be messing up people's lives because we don't know what we're doing either. But it's just a way for us to connect our audience and they can just kind of vent. Like sometimes they don't want to.
[18:36] get advice from us. I think a lot of times when you give advice to like, or when you're venting to somebody, you don't want advice. You just need to get things off your chest. So pour your heart out is a moment for the poor crew and the listeners just to, you know, talk to us a little bit. Okay. So Josh, we are going to take some voicemails.
[18:53] So after they pour their heart out, we don't say nothing? No, we give them advice. No, yeah, we give them advice. Okay, I'm about to say. I won't talk about it. You know, depending on what it is. Most of the time they do ask for advice. You know what I'm saying? And then sometimes they'll backdoor a few months later and be like, why did y'all tell me to do that? Do that? Yeah. Oh, my God. We never really would get good testimonials.
[19:16] It would always be like, how fuck's my life up? Why? What do y'all tell them to do? It was an example. I think it's because me and Dre are so opposite in our advice. So Dre be like, man, leave. Fuck that friend. That's not your friend. Or leave. And I'm just always like, you know, let me create. They'll work it out. Or go get another man. Or, you know. Oh, that's basically us. We're giving them chaos. Yeah. Okay. They leave still not normal. What we are going to do today is we're going to align on one piece of advice. Yes. Okay. Okay. So let's take a voicemail, Josh.
[19:46] Okay, so I'm going to make this real quick because I don't know if y'all can respond to this or that. But I've been talking to this girl for a little under a month. And I really like her.
[20:00] But she keeps on saying that she wants to take things slow and that she feels like she doesn't want me to wait on her. But I feel like she worth the wait. And I just want to know what I can do to make her comfortable and get her used to me and the way I am. Because I'm a really affectionate person. And when I love, I love hard.
[20:27] So I just want to know strategies on getting comfortable, building relationships, and what to do in this situation. Uh-oh. She don't want him. I was just about to say that. Any girl that says, you don't have to wait on me,
[20:46] She don't want you. She don't want the same thing you want. I can, honest, I can speak for myself. I don't want to speak for all women, but when you go on a date with a guy and you call your friend, you be like, oh, girl, this is my man. We in love. Like, you, even if it's like not that, but you be excited. So the fact that y'all have been... That's not me, though. Well, but you kind of know that you like him. No, no. Okay, a month of dating somebody and you'll say, you don't have to wait on me. Are you April McDade? Yeah. Okay. Okay.
[21:15] Wait a minute. She lying. Wait a minute. After... Because I was about to say that. I'm like, I can't. Bye. Bye. I be ready. You felt like I was... Wait a minute. Come here. Come here. Come here. Tell me. She's telling me. You felt like I was like that with the first one? Not the first one. The second one? Oh, yes. You felt like that at the Laker game? It was... Oh, no. The first one. Not the second. The first.
[21:41] the first one for sure. I got the phone. I got the, oh, I got the phone. The first one, but not the second one. Not the second one, no. And the second one I loved way more. I be like that though. I meet somebody and I be like, oh my God, I love him. And then like two weeks later, I be like, she's like, no, and I'll never hear from him again. They be hitting me up. Man, let's go drill. Man, till I'm a pull-up phone, I be like, what you got for me? What exactly are you willing to get for this?
[22:08] But I think by him, I think it's important to find somebody who enjoys who you are in your natural state. Like he said, I am affectionate. Yes. And you're dating somebody who sounds like she's not. So that's never going to work. Even if she does, you know, compromise, that's never going to be something that she wants. So I don't I think that this is something that you need to let go of.
[22:30] ego plays a big part in why people remain persistent. So like there, I've definitely told people like I'm not interested and they, okay, hey, hi, I said I'm not interested. One day you're going to be my wife. Like, no, I'm not. Am I? No way, like three months and they'll come back. Three months? Three months?
[22:49] No, I'm talking about years. I think I'm the queen of people trying to spin the block with a block that they never spun before. Yeah. I'd be like, huh? Like, didn't I tell you? So I think ego plays a lot with a man's
[23:03] persistence they love the chase they don't like rejection i think that's people in general like nobody like when you reject me i'm the fuck gone oh no no no no no no no no no no no okay clear i mean i believe people like i believe if you tell me who you are i'm gonna believe you the first time or if you show me who you are i'm gonna believe i'm not gonna try to like shift the narrative and prove to you they're like oh no you need to pick me
[23:28] but if you reject me he wants to be picked if you reject me you're dead I think you need to move on he sounds like a sweet guy sounds like a really really sweet guy there was something not right but okay let's take another voicemail let's move on I don't like it the last line what can I make her is giving a little odd but let's take another voicemail
[23:57] Hey, y'all. I'm Lex from Kansas City, Kansas City, Missouri. My crazy is, so I've been wanting to just know more insight from other women. Like, how do you navigate finding and building community, especially as you are growing into your womanhood? I feel like now in 2025, as a woman, our lives look vastly different, especially like as you get to like your late 20s, early 30s.
[24:27] I feel like you have one friend, she just got married. Now she's moving across the country. You have another friend, she just had a child and she's going through postpartum. And how do you support her in that? You have another friend, she may be going through a divorce, or you may have another friend who's trying to figure out how to navigate her career. And so many different things I feel like as a woman, and I feel like the biggest thing that we talk about a lot is motherhood.
[24:54] and becoming a wife. And it's like, okay, how do we find community and build community outside of that? Especially for those of us who are single with no kids. And we are preying on our spouse and the families that come. But that's not crazy. Sorry that was long-winded, but I'm super excited and hopefully you guys get to this question. Oh, it's hard out here for these young girls. I be feeling bad for them. You should. They need to start watching Weddington Exile. Because it is bad out here. The girls don't watch the movies. I think it is. I think it's so difficult. I think...
[25:23] So me and Savannah started Let It Break. We have another business. Don't even ask. We have many businesses. But Let It Break is a female community that we do all about personal development and community. So it's in New York and L.A. We have about 400 members. And we started it because I think a lot of people are growing and changing. And I think that there is a lack of community and what that looks like.
[25:47] But I think it's also so much pressure to keep up with all the things. I feel like this kind of call is the same kind of call we get. Yeah. The same kind of people we have calling in. It's consistent. I don't know. We're going to have to figure out how to.
[26:02] Fix it, guys. And I agree. But I am so blessed. Like, that's kind of how my friend circle is. Like, we're all in different chapters of things that we care about. But I'm so blessed to have friends that give me grace. Yes. We give each other grace. Sometimes my friend is going through something I don't understand. And she just want to come over and sit with me.
[26:19] I'm like, girl, just come over. I don't know. I'll cook something. And we just sit on the couch and we don't say two words, but she just wants me there. Yes. So I think there's a way to be there for people and create community without like, sometimes you don't necessarily need somebody to say something or do something. Because sometimes there are no words that can fix what's going on. You just need a listening ear or you need companionship. So I think that building community is just genuine. Yeah.
[26:44] Like when I think about my most recent friend that I've made, I actually, you know, met her through a guy I'm dating. And it was just kind of like we just clicked and we hit it off. You know what I'm saying? So I think it's like finding a friend is kind of like dating. You know what I'm saying? I agree with that. And I also think friendship is meaning together. I think COVID got things real weird. Yes. And people be sitting in their house doing whatever they doing in their house and want to call and talk to you. Just come over. Yeah. Let's go to the park. Sometimes me and Savannah will be somewhere I'll be like,
[27:12] You want to go to the jewelry store after? She'll be like, okay, come on. Like, you know, like just doing something together. I think we've learned to live in such isolation after COVID. Yeah. That people will be like, oh, let's go for a walk in the park. We'll be like, what? Yeah. A walk in the park. Like, so I just think like even simplifying what it means to be together. Yep. Exactly. So like you said, go to the house and somebody's cooking. I'm not cooking. I'm not going to work.
[27:34] But my nanny will. She's amazing. Empanadas, everything. We got everything at the house. But I mean, again, like understanding what that looks like, because I think people also have a high standard of what it means to be together. Yeah. That means a five hundred dollar dinner. No boo flicks, picks, this, that. No sweatsuit. Your hair not done. Like just being together. Mm hmm.
[27:56] Like sitting and talking and just being there. So I think you need, I would give her the one piece of advice of like reimagining what together is. Yep. Agreed. Like, you know what I mean? Or like saving your couple dollars and buying a little spirit airlines ticket and go into another city to see your friend for a long weekend and just sitting at the house. She shouldn't feel like she has to do a whole lot to meet you. You just go in there and being together. I feel like is really what people need to simplify, like their standard of hanging out.
[28:25] Yep. Agreed. 1,000%. Ain't nobody spend $300 every time to go do something. Yeah, no. Sometimes we need to chill. Yeah. Come over, have a little glass of wine at the house. You and Libby going on walks. We do because my trainer, my best friend, she lives not that far from the gym I train at. So every morning after I finish working out, now we go on like little morning walks. She goes on walks every morning. She goes on walks with our friend Michelle. She did
[28:53] I think it's important that you could talk and do all the things. If you need an event. Some shit that just bothering you. Girl, I just need to get this off by the way. Yeah, thank you very much. It's just good to be around your friend. We actually had a conversation about that the other day because we were talking and she was like, girl, I feel like I haven't been to your house in months. And I was like, you haven't. And she was like, I'm going to just come over there and spend the weekend over there because I feel like we haven't did that in a while. No, no, no. You got to go. You can come one night and got to back and don't get your shit. You ain't staying over
[29:23] no no no you take them home take them on home I'll give you a nice little go by girl I would love to have an extended slumber party with my friends we have one here for your birthday I got a chef I got all the room I'm coming over I'm coming over
[29:42] Let me move my flight. You ain't saying nothing but a war. Put on some pajamas, watch a scary movie. But it was really nice, though. Honestly, I know today sounds like a lot. Oh, God, Taurus. I'd be like, girl, come on now. It's time to get to go. But it was really nice. Like, we went on a walk around the neighborhood. We went to get breakfast. Like, we was watching movies.
[30:03] Like a day. Yeah. My friend actually, when I moved into my house, she came and stayed with me for a month. Okay. Now she... Not at home. It was a long time, but I live by myself. See, I think that's a very considerate friend. She wanted to make sure you live. Yeah. But I will say, the way my house is set up, like my basement is like an apartment down there. So some days I wouldn't even see her because I'm like way upstairs and she's in the basement. Where does she live at?
[30:26] She lives in Houston. Oh, she came from Houston. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She lives in Houston. So she definitely has a home. She wasn't homeless yet. A month too long for me. Listen, an extended stay. Can we take one more call? One more voicemail? And then we will close it on out. Let's see what we got. We're going to be chatting all night. Oh, my God. We like to talk. Y'all got things to do. Y'all got things to do. Hi, my name is Sarah.
[30:55] And I'm calling in because my friend that we were like really close for like two years, BFFFF, I kind of like called her out because she wasn't being that nice to me when I was introducing her to my friends. And she's like, I don't know, she would put me down in front of my friends. But I still love her so much. And I don't know what to do because I don't want to not be friends with her, but
[31:21] I'm so friends with her. And she has kind of, like, put me at, like, arm's length. And she's playing games with me now. So do I just, like, never trust her again? Or do I continue to, like, speak to her? Because I'm a really nice person. And I just don't want to, like...
[31:38] have any bad beef with anybody because I don't think it's anything like I did wrong. Yeah. I mean, you didn't do anything wrong. And I think that if she's doing the things that you're saying that you're saying that she's doing, that's not your friend. Yeah. She don't really fool with you like that. She's not your friend. But also, I need to get to the bottom of it. That's my issue. Sometimes people have like secret animosity towards me. I was like, if I'm a skirt skirt off, I need to know why. Yeah. Yeah.
[32:03] I'm like, so why the weird vibes? That's me, girl. I want to talk about it. Me too. But Savannah told me, Savannah told me, I be wanting to talk about it too much. Me too. You want too much closure. You be looking for this and looking for that. Like, if it's done, it's done. I can't. No, because I don't need you seeing you. I'm down not being your friend and you're walking down the street with my ex. Something ain't right. Something ain't right I'm not.
[32:26] I need to get to the bottom of it. And I'll say this. She sounds like because she sounds like me, like I'm a sensitive person, like everything hurts my feelings and I take everything personal. You know what I'm saying? But I think you have to understand that sometimes you have to listen to your nervous system. And how do I feel when I'm around you? And sometimes it'll be certain people I'm around. I'm like, this doesn't feel good. I'm not having fun.
[32:48] And then I literally, I'll say like when I'm with my, like this friend, I mean, we'd be having a ball. It's lighthearted. It's fun. It's always a good feeling. So if I'm around you and it's like every time it's like kind of something, I'm like, maybe this ain't what I'm thinking that it is. And yes, you can love somebody and you'd be like, I can love you enough to like let this friendship go. Because it don't feel good no more. You know what I mean? And I think just being...
[33:15] I do think that that takes a high level of maturity. Yes. I think you really have to be at a place in life where you're like, I'll find a new friend. I feel like people be holding on to three little raggedy friends, scared, worried about it, worried about being by themselves. And I think the idea of making new friends feels scary, but those friends are not your friends really. Right. So I think you have to like,
[33:38] really it requires you to think differently and believe that you can go out and get new friends but i think one of the things the girls are struggling with is where you get new friends yeah now that's hard to find if you're not in college anymore like at the club i don't know i don't even know where people go quality friends we should we should start a dating app but a friendship app
[34:01] That's a good idea. Yeah. Yeah. That's not a good idea. Let's go. See, see, see. We're like-minded. I think it's a match. Listen. But how are we going to vet the weird people? Oh, yeah. Because that's the problem. Don't be getting on here. We're taking your money in. You out here swindling people and asking them to go sleep with your boyfriend's friends so y'all can have a double date. They do that. Yes. They definitely do that. He's the weas. See, see, that's what I mean. That's what I mean. Sheesh.
[34:27] These girls don't be having their priorities straight. They don't. People not just looking for friendships. People curate in friend groups. They all look alike. Nobody got their own identity. You got to look a certain way, make this money, do this. Can fly to Dubai for an extended amount of time. It's a big fat freak show out here.
[34:44] but you explained that so well because that's really what's going on i saw this thing the other day this man posted his the credit saying he like all the friend groups is looking the same he's like i need y'all i need y'all to have one did you send me that yes it was a brown skin friend one uh
[35:10] heavy set friend. One tall friend, one small friend, one this friend, one that friend. Like, everybody don't gotta look the same. Everybody does. Everybody doesn't have to be the same vibe. Like, those days are done. That's why, that's why, okay, young girls, we got an assignment for you. Need to go watch Waiting to Exhale. Mm-hmm. What other movies we need to tell them to go watch? On Friendship. On Friendship. What's a good Friendship movie? Boys in the Hood. Boys in the Hood. That is a good one. Juice.
[35:39] juice. That'll give you the watch your back. So you can pick them out. Pay attention to the sign. A hundred percent. Sex in the City. Mean Girls. This is the kind of movies y'all need to watch so we can get it together. And... One of my favorites.
[36:02] I've never seen that, but She the Girl. Me neither. That's a request. Shayla Young. Yes, it is. Oh, yes, Shayla. She the Girl. One of my favorites is Now and Then. Oh, y'all probably never seen it. I've never seen it. It's a friendship movie. Okay. Now and Then. Oh, y'all remember the movie Crossroads with Britney Spears? No. Y'all have never seen Crossroads? I remember Coyote Ugly. Oh, my God. Oh, Coyote Ugly. I remember Coyote Ugly. That's a good one. That's a good one. That's a different vibe.
[36:29] Yeah. You got to switch up. Giving different things. Yeah. That's what we need. So you guys need to go watch some of these classics. Yes. So you know what to look out for. You know what to get. And Waiting to Excel is a perfect movie about holding your friends down. Yeah. So is Sex and the City. Yeah. You know, I used to think I was Carrie. I rewatched Sex and the City. What, you didn't love it? It's interesting that you say you think you was Carrie. I have theories now about Sex and the City. Who do you think I am? Carrie was on my nerves.
[36:59] It was bad. She was on my nerves. Watching it now as an adult, it's different. It's giving, give me Samantha all day long. Yeah. Same. Give me, oh, Samantha. I love Samantha, but she was ruthless. You see what happened with the young boy? He loved her till the wheels fell off, but the wheels was falling. Yeah. But she was happy. She lived her best one. At the end of the day. She lived her best one, she did. I started, I started as a Carrie. Yeah.
[37:26] I'm truly Charlotte. I was on the test. You're a Charlotte. I like Charlotte. I was literally by the way. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're a Charlotte. You're an art curator. Yeah. I married this guy. He didn't look the way I expected, but I love him. We adopt a kid. We have adopted. Yeah. Y'all adopted. Y'all had what y'all was on your home? Yes. Yes. I was Charlotte. I converted to Judaism. I was a Samantha. Yes. You were a Samantha. One thousand percent
[37:51] Yeah Yeah No But I thought I was I used to think I was Carrie too But I agree Like watching it As a person That's older now From a different lens Carrie was too Desperate I never watched Sex and the City As when I was younger Like I just like Binge watched it Like a year ago Like through my eyes Yes I never watched it Never did So I was like
[38:12] this lady is crazy. Yeah. I'm into T. But what is wrong with her? Like, Big don't, I was like, girl, he don't like it. She wanted to be with him so bad instead of being with Aiden. I love Mr. Big. I love Mr. Big. Oh my gosh. I love him. But, I mean, I'm not gonna lie. He was ruthless. He was. He did what the fuck. He didn't give a damn. Oh my God. And then how about the guy that was the ballerina?
[38:34] ballerina how many episodes he left yes yes she did like the cringe episode when she popped up at church and like met his mom and then a bible fell what are you doing like is everything okay is everything okay she put herself in the most random awkward okay so waiting to accept remember she was stalking his ex-wife yeah remember yeah what was what was the one jill scott was in
[39:00] Oh, why did I get married? Yeah, that was another good friend. That's our movie. That was another good friend one. I'm so happy. I'm so happy. Me and L.A. randomly do that all the time. But why did you know what y'all was talking about? I was like, damn, there was another friend group. I was wondering what I would do when I saw you.
[39:29] If I would smile, say hello. If I would whoop that. She delivered that line. Oh my God. Well, guys, thank you so much. This was fun. Everybody tune in and boat. We going to go to Houston. Long weekend. Area 29. Yes. We're going to pull up to the spot. Get us some good meals. Yes. We're going to eat good. We're going to eat two days. Mile.
