[0:00] Speaker 1: Well, good morning, everybody. Welcome to Monday. Welcome to Pre-Drinks. Hello, Clintus.
[0:04] Speaker 1: Hello there. Happy new week. I'm rattled. Why? She was
[0:09] Speaker 1: hot last night. Yeah. Yeah. And you've just come in
[0:15] Speaker 1: here saying it's really hot in this studio. I feel
[0:17] Speaker 1: like a roast chicken at Coles. Yeah, rotisserie. Yeah. Hot.
[0:21] Speaker 1: I feel quite comfortable. Mate, last night I was, oh,
[0:26] Speaker 1: I woke up at like one o'clock. Water. Really? Yeah,
[0:29] Speaker 1: I did battle a little bit. It's an adjustment. It's
[0:32] Speaker 1: an adjustment, but I think you'll be okay. Come out
[0:35] Speaker 1: of nowhere. Well, this week is going to be like
[0:37] Speaker 1: strikingly warm. Like 28 today. Oh, I miss winter. Full sunshine. 28?
[0:42] Speaker 1: Don't you ever, don't you dare say you miss winter.
[0:45] Speaker 1: That's behind us now. We are never to go backwards.
[0:48] Speaker 1: We're almost through summer, guys. Hang in there. No, it's
[0:51] Speaker 1: going to be great. Hey, tell you what, there's a
[0:53] Speaker 1: story in the news that might help you. Oh, let's go.
[0:57] Speaker 1: Should we go there straight away? Yeah, what are we
[0:58] Speaker 1: waking up to? Well, we could one day cool off
[1:00] Speaker 1: in the Yarra. I'm good. All of a sudden, I'm
[1:04] Speaker 1: not warm anymore. Melbourne Water has joined this push to
[1:06] Speaker 1: make it swimmable. Testing is set to begin on whether
[1:10] Speaker 1: it's actually possible.
[1:11] Speaker 2: Now, do you remember- Would you? I went and got
[1:13] Speaker 2: the water tested. I took it to Pool Works on
[1:15] Speaker 2: South Road. And they were pleasantly surprised with- The water health.
[1:20] Speaker 1: The quality. Yeah. Well, it's funny because I did the
[1:23] Speaker 1: Birdman Rally many years ago.
[1:24] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[1:24] Speaker 1: Did you get sick? Well, I ingested a whole heap
[1:28] Speaker 1: of water. Like, I just mouth was open as I
[1:31] Speaker 1: made my entry. Right. It tasted very salty. Yeah. Very,
[1:35] Speaker 1: very salty. That could be a good thing. I didn't
[1:37] Speaker 1: get sick. Yeah. It can't be that bad. I mean,
[1:41] Speaker 1: the Brisbane River, however. Is that no good? Oh, that's brown.
[1:44] Speaker 3: Oh.
[1:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. The brown snake. The brown snake, they call it. Yeah. Okay,
[1:49] Speaker 1: so you wouldn't cut a bit of butterfly in the
[1:51] Speaker 1: arrow one day? You know what?
[1:53] Speaker 2: I'm not opposed to it. You might hit a couple
[1:55] Speaker 2: of those line bikes if they're still in there.
[1:57] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, because people were turfing them. Yeah, they really were.
[2:00] Speaker 1: What else is making news? Well, you know what? It's
[2:02] Speaker 1: a bit of a funny news day. There's not much
[2:04] Speaker 1: going on. That's actually the only story that spiked my interest.
[2:07] Speaker 1: Do you reckon the people of Victorian Water are like, yes,
[2:09] Speaker 1: we're leading the news today? Well, I wouldn't say it's
[2:11] Speaker 1: a lead. It's just more me pulling an entertaining news
[2:14] Speaker 1: story out. In sport, Jake Stringer, formerly of the Giants.
[2:18] Speaker 1: formerly of the Bombers, is now set for another AFL
[2:22] Speaker 1: club heading to St Kilda, which is really interesting. And
[2:25] Speaker 1: the cricket's back again. Scott Boland's taken two wickets. Rain
[2:28] Speaker 1: affected opening day. Second test, the home side. Two for 20. Nice.
[2:33] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[2:33] Speaker 1: Hey, big week for us. It's hide and seek week.
[2:36] Speaker 1: It is. Come find us. Not today. No.
[2:38] Speaker 2: All your details coming up this morning when Lauren joins
[2:41] Speaker 2: us at six o'clock. We'll tell you when we are
[2:44] Speaker 2: going into hiding. Exactly when. And you've got to start
[2:48] Speaker 2: listing out the clues. First person to find us wins
[2:50] Speaker 2: the money, and we are doing it five times.
[2:52] Speaker 1: Do we have a clue today? I reckon we should
[2:54] Speaker 1: do a clue today. I think we can. Because we
[2:57] Speaker 1: are going to look. I've got one that I think works.
[3:00] Speaker 1: Let's run it past the team. The team? Yeah. Or
[3:03] Speaker 1: a boss? Just a boss, some sort of.
[3:06] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[3:06] Speaker 1: I think it's fine, this clue. I mean, pre-drinks. Hang on,
[3:11] Speaker 1: I'll turn off the mic so you tell me the clue. Ready?
[3:14] Speaker 1: Hang on. Three, two, one. Not a bad clue. That's
[3:23] Speaker 1: actually pretty good. That's good. Yeah. It's a good starting point. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[3:28] Speaker 1: You reckon they'll link it to kittens? Look, there's a chance.
[3:32] Speaker 2: There's always a chance. Hey, 13, 24, 10 is our number.
[3:36] Speaker 2: What did you get up to for the weekend, Melbourne?
[3:38] Speaker 2: We've got prizes to go. Celebrate birthdays, weddings, proposals.
[3:43] Speaker 1: It's a beautiful day for a beer at the pub yesterday,
[3:45] Speaker 1: which is what I did. 13, 24, 10. Now just
[3:47] Speaker 1: spend your weekend. This is Bruno Mars.
[3:49] Speaker 2: We'll offload some prizes next. Good morning, Bruno Mars there.
[3:53] Speaker 2: This is Nova 100. It is Jason Clint. We are
[3:56] Speaker 2: doing pre-drinks.
[3:57] Speaker 1: Yes, we are. QA Hotel, Queen's Arms? No, where'd you go?
[4:01] Speaker 1: Prince Alfred. I went yesterday. What a pub. It was
[4:04] Speaker 1: just a perfect afternoon for it. Didn't get carried away,
[4:06] Speaker 1: but had a few beers and then a few margaritas.
[4:10] Speaker 1: It was very nice. Sounds like we're on the verge
[4:12] Speaker 1: of getting carried away. No, no, no. What time did
[4:14] Speaker 1: all that wrap up? Oh, about six, I reckon. Oh, nice. Yeah,
[4:19] Speaker 1: it was nice. Richmond was busy, as it would have
[4:23] Speaker 1: been right the way around Melbourne, because the weather was
[4:25] Speaker 1: just doing its thing. You'll be there with a baby
[4:28] Speaker 1: Bjorn on in a couple of weeks. Well, we did
[4:29] Speaker 1: discuss that, because there were two other fathers-to-be. Oh, really?
[4:33] Speaker 1: One of them, Scotty, who actually drives in the V8s,
[4:38] Speaker 1: in the supercars. Yep. He came second at Bathurst, actually. Oh,
[4:41] Speaker 1: good on him. He's going to have a baby on
[4:43] Speaker 1: November 1st. Yep. Then maybe me next, and then my
[4:47] Speaker 1: mate Elliot third. Yeah, right. So the three of us
[4:49] Speaker 1: within sort of three. Is there a dad section in
[4:51] Speaker 1: the beer garden? Yeah, well, exactly.
[4:52] Speaker 2: A little bit of shade for the babies.
[4:57] Speaker 1: 132410 is our number. We are doing pre-drinks. We want
[5:00] Speaker 1: to know what you got up to on the weekend.
[5:02] Speaker 1: Let's start with Anthony. Good morning, mate. Good morning, mate.
[5:05] Speaker 3: How's it going, guys?
[5:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, we're good. What did you get up to, bro? Oh,
[5:08] Speaker 1: it's Saturday, mate.
[5:09] Speaker 3: Went to the Melbourne Star.
[5:10] Speaker 1: Oh, you went on the wheel. How was?
[5:12] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. Brang the mother-in-law, father-in-law. You know, got my
[5:17] Speaker 3: little son, two-year-old son up there as well, and the missus.
[5:20] Speaker 3: How was it?
[5:20] Speaker 1: Went up on the star. Oh, mate, it's a great
[5:22] Speaker 1: view up there, mate. You've got to go check it out.
[5:24] Speaker 2: Did you go on it previously when it was running
[5:27] Speaker 2: back in the day?
[5:28] Speaker 1: No, it was the first time. Yeah, right. Yeah, it was.
[5:31] Speaker 1: pretty good. What do we see up there? Oh, mate,
[5:34] Speaker 1: see the bay.
[5:35] Speaker 3: The bay was just beautiful.
[5:36] Speaker 1: Love the bay. I love it, mate.
[5:39] Speaker 3: Love it, love it, love it.
[5:40] Speaker 1: Well done, Anthony. Melbourne, mate, is a city to be,
[5:43] Speaker 1: I reckon.
[5:44] Speaker 3: The view up there is just amazing.
[5:46] Speaker 1: I'm going to hook you up with a family pass
[5:47] Speaker 1: to the Melbourne Star.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Now, I'll tell you what, why don't you take the
[5:54] Speaker 2: family to Luna Park, Family Pass, to enjoy ride thrills
[5:57] Speaker 2: and classic Luna Park fun.
[5:59] Speaker 1: You enjoy it. Yeah, beautiful. Thanks very much, mate. Good
[6:01] Speaker 1: on you, mate. You too. Good on you, mate. Beautiful.
[6:04] Speaker 1: That's good to know. Good little early review for the
[6:07] Speaker 1: Melbourne Star. I know. Put that on the poster. Fantastic.
[6:10] Speaker 1: The bait. Belle, good morning. Good morning. How are you? Excellent.
[6:15] Speaker 1: What about you? Did you enjoy the sun?
[6:18] Speaker 3: I did. We have two young boys who are four
[6:20] Speaker 3: and six and have just started back at basketball. So
[6:22] Speaker 3: apart from that, we are down in Frankston. So we
[6:24] Speaker 3: spent the day just enjoying the sunshine down by Olive Hill,
[6:28] Speaker 3: picking up coffee and going for walks and enjoying the beach.
[6:31] Speaker 3: So it was a beautiful weekend.
[6:32] Speaker 1: What times are your basketball games? Like, is there a
[6:34] Speaker 1: few hours you've got to kill in between?
[6:36] Speaker 3: To be honest, I love the early morning ones, but
[6:38] Speaker 3: it was 11 o'clock this week, and then our little
[6:40] Speaker 3: one started mini hoops, which is on a Sunday afternoon now.
[6:43] Speaker 3: So we're pretty busy all weekend, but I'm preferring the
[6:47] Speaker 3: morning ones, so hopefully we get lucky in the next
[6:49] Speaker 3: few weeks.
[6:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, see, Huddy had his at 8.30 on Sunday. That
[6:52] Speaker 1: was great, in and out. Fine.
[6:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, but then it's done. That's the good thing, I think.
[6:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. But also, I mean, it's sort of free babysitting, though. No, no, no.
[7:01] Speaker 1: It's half an hour, and it's like 40 minutes. Well,
[7:03] Speaker 1: that's half an hour you get to yourself. No, no,
[7:05] Speaker 1: you've got to go watch them.
[7:06] Speaker 3: You've got to watch, which is good. And then when
[7:08] Speaker 3: you have a little sibling running around as well, that's
[7:11] Speaker 3: another challenge.
[7:12] Speaker 1: It's 11.30 in the middle of the day. You're sitting
[7:14] Speaker 1: there going, Jase, what are you up to? I'd still
[7:15] Speaker 1: take it. Yeah, right.
[7:17] Speaker 2: See, I remember I was always a no cricket house.
[7:21] Speaker 2: I was like, it's too long. And Beck Judd was
[7:22] Speaker 2: the one that ripped into me going, Jase, it's an
[7:24] Speaker 2: all-day event. You sit there, a little Chardonnay, watch the
[7:27] Speaker 2: kids all day, get a little group together.
[7:29] Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, yeah. There you go. Not bad.
[7:31] Speaker 1: You've got to be a real housewife. Surprise for Bill.
[7:33] Speaker 1: I do indeed. How about an aura ring?
[7:37] Speaker 3: Sounds great. I've never used them before.
[7:39] Speaker 1: No, they're incredible. I've got one on right now.
[7:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, they track 50-plus metrics, helping you understand sleep, activity,
[7:47] Speaker 2: and readiness, empowering healthy living. They are amazing. They're worth
[7:52] Speaker 2: a few hundred bucks, and we're going to chuck you one.
[7:54] Speaker 3: Oh, thank you so much.
[7:55] Speaker 1: Have a lovely day. You too.
[7:57] Speaker 2: And just to wrap things up, let's go to Amy
[7:58] Speaker 2: in Kilside.
[7:59] Speaker 1: Good morning. Hi, Ames. Good morning. Now, you did something
[8:03] Speaker 1: spectacular at the weekend. What did you do? Yeah, I
[8:06] Speaker 1: went to the wedding expo. Oh! Did it help?
[8:11] Speaker 3: Yeah, I got engaged a month ago and I had
[8:14] Speaker 3: no idea what I'm doing.
[8:15] Speaker 1: Fair enough.
[8:16] Speaker 3: So that's a good helpful advice.
[8:17] Speaker 1: Okay. The big day is going to be a bit
[8:19] Speaker 1: dearer than you thought. Did you buy some taffeta?
[8:21] Speaker 3: Some what?
[8:24] Speaker 1: Yeah. What? Taffeta is the big, the dress. You have
[8:28] Speaker 1: a taffeta dress back in the 80s, you know, the
[8:30] Speaker 1: big puffy dresses.
[8:33] Speaker 3: I did not know what that was. I was like, ah!
[8:35] Speaker 1: Did it?
[8:36] Speaker 3: No.
[8:36] Speaker 1: Come on, guys. Every day's a school day. Hey, we
[8:39] Speaker 1: are going to chuck you $ 300 to drop at Kitchen Warehouse. Oh,
[8:42] Speaker 1: thank you. No worries.
[8:44] Speaker 2: Kitchen Warehouse Black Friday sale is coming with huge savings store-wide.
[8:47] Speaker 1: It's our wedding gift. Have a great day.
[8:50] Speaker 2: Lauren's going to join us this morning from 6 o'clock.
[8:52] Speaker 2: We've got a huge week ahead, Melbourne. A lot of
[8:54] Speaker 2: cash to go, and it's hide-and-seek week.
[8:59] Speaker 1: Follow them on the socials.
