[0:00] Speaker 1: Well, here we are, all the necessary adjustments to being made.
[0:05] Speaker 1: We're all in our various kits very much an oasis
[0:08] Speaker 1: for them to start. Well.
[0:09] Speaker 2: Oasis was when we recording this last night, bloody Oasis.
[0:12] Speaker 2: I was out there.
[0:13] Speaker 1: How good was it? Oh? Mate?
[0:14] Speaker 2: Best? Not only the best concert I think I've ever
[0:17] Speaker 2: been to. I think it was the best thing I've
[0:19] Speaker 2: ever done. I got to do it two nights in
[0:21] Speaker 2: a row as well. I was happy. I'll tell you
[0:24] Speaker 2: what though, scratchy this morning, dustier than a bloody ceiling fan.
[0:28] Speaker 1: Isn't funny me? You go out like you can. You
[0:30] Speaker 1: can stay out, you can be at home with mates
[0:32] Speaker 1: and get on the drink and got a bet of
[0:34] Speaker 1: two o'clock. But even when you go out and about
[0:36] Speaker 1: like a night like that where you getting shitloads of
[0:38] Speaker 1: adrenaline and dopamine, then you go get home about twelve thirty,
[0:42] Speaker 1: just go. I woke the next day like yeah, after
[0:44] Speaker 1: Oasis and just went oh because we went Friday night
[0:48] Speaker 1: and then you went Friday Saturday. Mate. I've often thought
[0:52] Speaker 1: this coop and I've had I've said it to sometimes
[0:57] Speaker 1: to people, and people who just laughed at me. I
[0:59] Speaker 1: don't know if they like anymore. I think Liam Gallagher
[1:01] Speaker 1: is the greatest frontman of all time.
[1:03] Speaker 2: I'm with you the stage present, because so many bands
[1:07] Speaker 2: like they've got the big runway through the middle, or
[1:09] Speaker 2: you've got Taylor Swift who emerges through the air and whatnot.
[1:13] Speaker 2: Sometimes he just stands up there, you know, rather rayin
[1:17] Speaker 2: Hale or shine. He's got a rain jacket on, he's
[1:19] Speaker 2: got a tambourine which he just puts around his neck
[1:21] Speaker 2: or on top of his head, and he doesn't even move,
[1:24] Speaker 2: just puts the hands behind the back, leans into the
[1:26] Speaker 2: mic and then he just strolls off. When he's not singing,
[1:29] Speaker 2: He's just good.
[1:30] Speaker 1: He presents himself with a real sense of menace, which
[1:32] Speaker 1: rock and roll is about.
[1:34] Speaker 2: Hey, rock and roll will never die. And what I
[1:36] Speaker 2: loved so many Pommy listeners of Backstage and the family
[1:40] Speaker 2: potty out there on the second night, mainly because on
[1:43] Speaker 2: that first night we were kind of in a bit
[1:45] Speaker 2: more of a less public section. We were in our
[1:47] Speaker 2: own little bit. But second night, when I was walking
[1:49] Speaker 2: through Holy Smokes, the amount of people that were coming
[1:53] Speaker 2: through all these Pommies, a lot of people giving it
[1:55] Speaker 2: to me because I was wearing a Man United Jersey.
[1:57] Speaker 1: Hen's why Jack's wearing his Oasis man Man.
[2:01] Speaker 2: City certainly is. But make the amount upon me listeners
[2:05] Speaker 2: that were just going love Backstage, Love, Yeah, Love, Family Podcast, Hate,
[2:10] Speaker 2: Trish Love the Family Podcast, Fucking Marti's fucking sick?
[2:14] Speaker 1: Is your dad?
[2:15] Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. Your dad is one of
[2:17] Speaker 2: the biggest way because I've ever met my love.
[2:19] Speaker 1: How do you know we got you most morning?
[2:21] Speaker 2: A lot of people. Actually you must, you must have
[2:24] Speaker 2: quite a presence in England because a lot of people
[2:25] Speaker 2: come out going mate love you love your old man.
[2:29] Speaker 1: Do you know like the band Oasis with the head
[2:32] Speaker 1: discarding that tailorly because I really enjoyed that rub on
[2:35] Speaker 1: the belly.
[2:36] Speaker 3: One other question that.
[2:39] Speaker 1: Like our family we have, we have championed Oasis through
[2:45] Speaker 1: thick and thin. I will say that like I first
[2:48] Speaker 1: found Oasis, I'll hang on.
[2:49] Speaker 3: I was.
[2:51] Speaker 1: I discovered them with Alan McGee in a nightclub. No,
[2:55] Speaker 1: it was, I was over on. I was over in
[2:58] Speaker 1: the UK on a on a rugby league tour, playing
[3:02] Speaker 1: over there in the World Cup. Who knows they will
[3:04] Speaker 1: blend in but and I thought that definitely maybe album
[3:08] Speaker 1: and well, just after it came out, I remember listening
[3:10] Speaker 1: going because people tip me off because I'm a huge
[3:12] Speaker 1: Beatles fan, as most people are, and they said, no,
[3:15] Speaker 1: I've got to listen to this young band. It's just
[3:16] Speaker 1: a merged in England. They're going like the Manchester band.
[3:19] Speaker 1: They're going north and Mellion miles an hour and had
[3:21] Speaker 1: to listen and went, holy.
[3:23] Speaker 2: Shit, So hang on, let me backcheck one second. So
[3:25] Speaker 2: what you're saying is at this stage, no one in
[3:27] Speaker 2: Australia knew about Oasis.
[3:29] Speaker 1: No, no, people in Australia were just I don't think coop.
[3:33] Speaker 1: Oasis didn't really hit big in Australia until the second
[3:36] Speaker 1: album What's the Story in Morning Glory? Because when the
[3:38] Speaker 1: Wonderwall came out, that's the one that really launched them worldwide.
[3:42] Speaker 1: They've kind of a huge act in the UK, in the
[3:45] Speaker 1: parts of Europe on definitely maybe they're their their initial album,
[3:49] Speaker 1: but the big one was when definitely, when What's the
[3:52] Speaker 1: Story of Morning Glory came out, it sent them in
[3:55] Speaker 1: a completely different tracks.
[3:58] Speaker 4: What I hear in my head is that you're calling
[4:00] Speaker 4: yourself an og cobber.
[4:02] Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, I am the original and I used to
[4:07] Speaker 5: play the music to people and they go I mentioned
[4:12] Speaker 5: Oasis and people gave fucking wankers.
[4:14] Speaker 1: Asked Phil Bailey about this, right, I'm going to do
[4:17] Speaker 1: something for you. So I went away and I made
[4:19] Speaker 1: a forty minute tape of all the Oasis songs all
[4:23] Speaker 1: blended together. Said listen to that, and he straightaway.
[4:26] Speaker 2: How do you make back then making a tape? What
[4:28] Speaker 2: did that entail?
[4:29] Speaker 1: You'd have two stereo. You'd have one stereo with two
[4:33] Speaker 1: cassette sort of entries, and you put them both in
[4:36] Speaker 1: and you put one in record, another one in play
[4:39] Speaker 1: and one would record the other.
[4:41] Speaker 2: Well, and how long did that tell you?
[4:43] Speaker 1: A full day? A full day holy shit, dedicated to
[4:47] Speaker 1: the cause. Wow?
[4:48] Speaker 2: And do you know who's doing the Who did the
[4:50] Speaker 2: preact over in the UK was the Verve Bittersweet Symphony
[4:55] Speaker 2: Richard Ashcroft.
[4:56] Speaker 1: Yes, we get wiganer, Wigan boy.
[4:59] Speaker 2: Didn't you say that when you playing at Wigan? He
[5:01] Speaker 2: was cleaning the pool that you guys.
[5:02] Speaker 1: Used to when we used to we used to do
[5:04] Speaker 1: after a game sometimes we go to the Wigan bars
[5:08] Speaker 1: and the man who ran Wigan Bars was Richard rass
[5:12] Speaker 1: Cross's father, and saw him there once. He was just
[5:15] Speaker 1: sort of mopping the floor and carrying on. Pretty troubled
[5:18] Speaker 1: sort of guy, but he's come through the other side now.
[5:20] Speaker 2: I think most rock stars are quite troubled. Yeah, you
[5:23] Speaker 2: know I would say that.
[5:24] Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. But and what was a Ballpark Music? That
[5:29] Speaker 1: was the support band. I thought they were really, really good.
[5:31] Speaker 1: I was a disappointed in Melbourne. It was Emmel and
[5:34] Speaker 1: the Sniffers. I was I was desperate to see Emmal
[5:36] Speaker 1: and the Sniffers. But Ballpark Music were very very good
[5:39] Speaker 1: as well.
[5:40] Speaker 4: Reckon amal and the Sniffers come up with that.
[5:42] Speaker 2: Name, I imagine, I don't know, yeah, I think they
[5:45] Speaker 2: had a dog rhymes with amial nitrate.
[5:50] Speaker 1: Best song boys, What do you reckon? Best song?
[5:52] Speaker 2: What's the story? Mine's Morning Glory?
[5:54] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[5:54] Speaker 4: Morning Glory was pretty damn good. The whole crowd was
[5:57] Speaker 4: singing what's the story Morning Glory? And everyone's wrong their
[6:00] Speaker 4: hands back and forth as they're saying it.
[6:02] Speaker 3: It was pretty cool.
[6:02] Speaker 1: A couple of the boots, I Bring It On Down,
[6:04] Speaker 1: was very very good, and the other one I really liked.
[6:07] Speaker 1: It's off the master play an album.
[6:09] Speaker 2: Fade Away, well, slide Away as good as one like
[6:13] Speaker 2: obviously wonder Wall, But I feel like only the like
[6:17] Speaker 2: the real fake fans would say like wonder Wall, like
[6:19] Speaker 2: wonderful for me, I don't really like like I would
[6:21] Speaker 2: never put wonder Wall on in the car and sing
[6:23] Speaker 2: it like. It's more of a if you want to
[6:25] Speaker 2: get a room up a karaoke or something, you can
[6:27] Speaker 2: see wonder Wall. But like the one, the one of
[6:29] Speaker 2: the best of the mainstream was I Love Champagne Soup
[6:31] Speaker 2: and over.
[6:32] Speaker 1: That as well, incredible song.
[6:33] Speaker 2: Tell Jack Dad, why don't we say what d you said?
[6:37] Speaker 2: We nearly did on the way home from the Friday
[6:39] Speaker 2: night concert. Uh, there's a lyric in Live Forever and
[6:42] Speaker 2: Dad wanted to get all three of us get tattoos,
[6:45] Speaker 2: also lyrics. I'd still do it. If you wanted to
[6:48] Speaker 2: do it, I'd still get Yeah.
[6:49] Speaker 4: I was actually surprised you were actually you for those
[6:52] Speaker 4: None of us have tattoos.
[6:54] Speaker 2: Yes, but over actually look, I got one on the
[6:58] Speaker 2: underside of the penis.
[6:59] Speaker 1: It's good from the City of Cessnok. I hope you
[7:01] Speaker 1: have a nice day.
[7:02] Speaker 2: It doesn't fit, goes up right to the back of you.
[7:05] Speaker 3: Now.
[7:08] Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, the lyric in Live Forever is we'll see
[7:13] Speaker 1: things they'll never see. And I thought, you know, we've
[7:16] Speaker 1: been through a fair bit of life experience. There's a
[7:18] Speaker 1: lot of families are and I thought we should get
[7:20] Speaker 1: that tatoo.
[7:21] Speaker 2: I get it still, I swear I even when I
[7:23] Speaker 2: was out there yessay when they sung it, I was like,
[7:24] Speaker 2: I'll still get it.
[7:26] Speaker 1: I'll do it tomorrow.
[7:27] Speaker 4: This reminds me of them when when I was living
[7:30] Speaker 4: with Perc briefly for a period there before he went
[7:32] Speaker 4: to Catalan and all the way.
[7:34] Speaker 3: Yeah, he got a we listened to while we're in
[7:37] Speaker 3: the COVID bubble.
[7:38] Speaker 4: We used to always play when you were young by
[7:41] Speaker 4: the Killers, and basically he heard the lyrics the Devil's
[7:45] Speaker 4: water it ain't so sweet, I don't have to drink
[7:47] Speaker 4: right now, and it pretty well changed his perspective on
[7:51] Speaker 4: a lot of things.
[7:52] Speaker 3: And he got a tattooed in the off season.
[7:54] Speaker 1: Wow. Wow.
[7:55] Speaker 2: My only problem is I wouldn't know where I'd get
[7:56] Speaker 2: a tattooed, and I'd be worried because I'm not not
[8:00] Speaker 2: in the quotation bubbles shape of my life, so I'd
[8:05] Speaker 2: be worried about like getting getting a lyric and then
[8:08] Speaker 2: shredding right up and then like it becomes all disproportioned.
[8:11] Speaker 3: I'm way about the opposite.
[8:12] Speaker 4: I feel like you might get it now ways small,
[8:14] Speaker 4: and then as you get large, you probably warped the.
[8:17] Speaker 3: Heads or lyrics, the lyrics. What are you going to do?
[8:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think maybe on like the back of
[8:22] Speaker 2: the arm, like the tricep. I could get it there.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Apparently the trice it hurts. Yeah, they reckon the ridge
[8:30] Speaker 2: and the lower bag hurts.
[8:32] Speaker 4: I've seen someone that got I got the camel on
[8:34] Speaker 4: their toe and they said that was pretty on the
[8:36] Speaker 4: top of their big toe.
[8:37] Speaker 3: They said that was pretty difficult.
[8:38] Speaker 2: Chase Blair Chase Blair on his so you sway for
[8:41] Speaker 2: Melbourne Storm used to wear the long sleeve Storm jersey
[8:44] Speaker 2: for those people who didn't know Chase Blair. On his
[8:47] Speaker 2: right toe he's got a toe. I mean he's got
[8:49] Speaker 2: a truck. So he's got toe truck like he's a
[8:52] Speaker 2: truck tattooed on and then left big toe is a
[8:55] Speaker 2: camel for camel tooe. He thought it was so funny
[8:59] Speaker 2: every day in.
[9:00] Speaker 1: The locker rooms, all through that pain for that weak joke.
[9:03] Speaker 3: But it is.
[9:04] Speaker 2: It was what a great conversation start He's missing?
[9:06] Speaker 3: Is there anything else?
[9:07] Speaker 4: I finished with told that he's possibly he's missing that
[9:11] Speaker 4: he could get put on soon.
[9:14] Speaker 1: We'll love to think about that. In the meantime, you
[9:17] Speaker 1: mentioned the impact Oasis have had on music is pretty significant.
[9:23] Speaker 1: I mean we always think about them. We talk about
[9:26] Speaker 1: the bands that had an effect on Oasis. We talk about,
[9:29] Speaker 1: of course the Beatles, we talk about Stone Roses to
[9:31] Speaker 1: a Rory Gallaher and but the effect they've had another bands,
[9:36] Speaker 1: and the Killers are the best example of Brendan Flowers,
[9:38] Speaker 1: whose lead singer are The Killers. He was he was
[9:42] Speaker 1: a concierge or a park or a park boy or
[9:46] Speaker 1: you know, valet valet at Caesars Palace and he was
[9:51] Speaker 1: there or not and his mum worked at Caesars Palace. Anyway,
[9:54] Speaker 1: the guy who was working with his mummy said, a
[9:56] Speaker 1: Brandon's a bit of a music fan. Made this a
[10:00] Speaker 1: band from the UK that have come. It must have
[10:02] Speaker 1: been enough to definitely maybe who are playing at a
[10:04] Speaker 1: place tonight and get him tickets. She went, oh, okay,
[10:07] Speaker 1: no worries, got him two tickets and he went and
[10:09] Speaker 1: watched Oasis in Caesar's Palace instead to change his life.
[10:13] Speaker 2: No way, they played at Caesar's Palace, seesze that would
[10:16] Speaker 2: have been good. Yeah, oh, I still want to I'll
[10:19] Speaker 2: tell you before we move on to some of the
[10:21] Speaker 2: Yash's talk and the rugby llyge. I do want to
[10:23] Speaker 2: say my head hit the pillow last night and I
[10:26] Speaker 2: was all but decided that I was going to move
[10:28] Speaker 2: to London and still woke up with thoughts of it.
[10:31] Speaker 2: Maybe you know, twenty twenty six, even if it's for
[10:34] Speaker 2: just a short period of time. I would love because
[10:37] Speaker 2: the UK culture. I just love it.
[10:39] Speaker 1: I love it.
[10:40] Speaker 2: I love getting around in me Manchester, United Jersey. I
[10:42] Speaker 2: felt like, you know, I felt like a young kid
[10:45] Speaker 2: kicking the soccer ball in the backyard. Yeah, I'm very excited.
[10:48] Speaker 2: I don't know where i'd live over there. London the
[10:50] Speaker 2: most expensive city on the world to live.
[10:51] Speaker 1: Apparently i'd move either Liverpool or Manchester. I love I
[10:56] Speaker 1: love the North of England. Yeah, I just love it, man.
[10:58] Speaker 1: I love the culture, I love the people, I love
[11:01] Speaker 1: the music, I love everything about it. I pined for
[11:05] Speaker 1: the North of England.
[11:06] Speaker 2: While we're running.
[11:08] Speaker 4: By the way, there's also missile toe, big toe or
[11:12] Speaker 4: tic tac on top of your toe that might work.
[11:14] Speaker 3: Are we still on that?
[11:15] Speaker 2: Dad? Can I ask? Should I turn him down?
[11:20] Speaker 1: No? Happy. No, it's good two handed show, it's good.
[11:23] Speaker 1: Let him join in. Okay, Ashes we win, Ossie's win
[11:28] Speaker 1: three nil over England. A lot of people who have
[11:30] Speaker 1: been asking me to give a bit of fooedback. Why
[11:32] Speaker 1: aren't they called Great Britain like in the old days
[11:34] Speaker 1: with the Ashes tour. Well, the reason is that they
[11:38] Speaker 1: have to be called England because they revert to the
[11:41] Speaker 1: name Great Britain. They don't get funding from the English government. Yeah,
[11:46] Speaker 1: why why.
[11:47] Speaker 2: Is it called the Ashes? Is there a reason for that?
[11:50] Speaker 1: Well? Do you know the original reason for the Ashes
[11:53] Speaker 1: for cricket, don't you? Okay, So what it was? I
[11:56] Speaker 1: think it must have been not the first of a series.
[11:58] Speaker 1: What they did They burn at the Bales, Yeah, in
[12:01] Speaker 1: the first ever series and they put him into an
[12:03] Speaker 1: urn and that's what they're playing for the Ashes. Okay, right,
[12:05] Speaker 1: so we've just taken it off there.
[12:07] Speaker 2: I love because you know in the cricket the Ashes
[12:09] Speaker 2: trophy it's so small.
[12:10] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[12:11] Speaker 2: And you remember there was I think it was Tony
[12:13] Speaker 2: Jones they call Chompers and he's on the TV and
[12:17] Speaker 2: he was going, oh, he's going look at him over there,
[12:19] Speaker 2: the crick he's holding up the ashes and it's so
[12:22] Speaker 2: funny how something so small can be so impressive, and
[12:24] Speaker 2: his female co host goes, well, you know about that, Tony.
[12:29] Speaker 3: You remember that?
[12:30] Speaker 2: And then there was that there was another incident he
[12:32] Speaker 2: had with the same co host when he goes, they're
[12:35] Speaker 2: wrapping up like a news story and he goes, oh,
[12:37] Speaker 2: tell you what, this weekend forty degrees, you should come
[12:39] Speaker 2: around for a barbie, and she goes, no thanks, and
[12:41] Speaker 2: he goes, okay, some great He's so awkward. So back
[12:49] Speaker 2: in the day they used to have like like on
[12:51] Speaker 2: the news and like breakfast sort of TV. They just
[12:54] Speaker 2: have like great, like funny moments that would happen, like
[12:57] Speaker 2: I remember that guy who was just like they came
[12:58] Speaker 2: bounding over.
[13:01] Speaker 3: Dog Man.
[13:01] Speaker 2: And then there was one There was one of the
[13:04] Speaker 2: reporters who was at a lake one day and a
[13:06] Speaker 2: duck like thought he was threatening his babies, and it
[13:09] Speaker 2: just attacked him live on the end. The rooster, the
[13:12] Speaker 2: rooster that they're in like there might have been for
[13:14] Speaker 2: the Easter show and they're in the farmer section and
[13:16] Speaker 2: the rooster just started attacking him.
[13:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I won't remember the guy over. There was
[13:20] Speaker 1: a burglary up in Queensland and they interviewed the bloke
[13:23] Speaker 1: and he goes yeah, and I came out right and
[13:26] Speaker 1: the yeah, good on your mate. You want to be
[13:28] Speaker 1: a hero, do you?
[13:31] Speaker 2: They're so good bring that back.
[13:33] Speaker 1: But three nil the Aussies won. Yeah, it was the series.
[13:37] Speaker 4: On a whole.
[13:38] Speaker 1: It really hurts me to say this because as a great,
[13:42] Speaker 1: fantastic three nil it's done. It's done a lot of
[13:45] Speaker 1: good things for the game over there, which is really important.
[13:48] Speaker 1: It could have been been a series the English had
[13:51] Speaker 1: just showed the divide between us, between US and the
[13:54] Speaker 1: and the English side, and and we never read our
[13:58] Speaker 1: very very best. I wanted it to be a really tight,
[14:02] Speaker 1: hard fought series. It wouldn't even worried me. It don't
[14:05] Speaker 1: sound un Australian if they didn't won, oh you know
[14:08] Speaker 1: what I mean, because you have the booster to give
[14:09] Speaker 1: the game. But my second one was hoping that, like
[14:13] Speaker 1: the eighty two and eighty six ashes, that we went
[14:15] Speaker 1: over there and our players showcased actually how good that
[14:18] Speaker 1: side potentially you know we're going to be and you
[14:23] Speaker 1: know people that look and just go wow, like, I mean,
[14:26] Speaker 1: how good is that? But we never quite got going.
[14:29] Speaker 1: I think part of it to coop Jack is the
[14:31] Speaker 1: reason in the old Kangaroo Tours, you go over, you
[14:34] Speaker 1: play about five or six club games before you play
[14:37] Speaker 1: the first test, then five or six cloud game, so
[14:40] Speaker 1: you've got you've got a lot of game time together
[14:42] Speaker 1: and a lot of time to form combinations where the
[14:44] Speaker 1: side really didn't getting up they didn't get a lot
[14:46] Speaker 1: of time to gel.
[14:47] Speaker 2: I think it, like you said, reflection on the England
[14:49] Speaker 2: team complay to Australia, but I think it's it's such
[14:52] Speaker 2: an indication of just where the soup like that competition
[14:56] Speaker 2: is at because that a lot of those ninety percent
[14:58] Speaker 2: of that team apart from Farnworth, Dom Young and Brimo
[15:02] Speaker 2: were people from the Super League and you could just see,
[15:05] Speaker 2: particularly with the attack, like the quality in the attack
[15:08] Speaker 2: and the footy IQ was so different because England, especially
[15:12] Speaker 2: Game two, they did a good job of like making
[15:15] Speaker 2: it ugly like it was always going to be like
[15:16] Speaker 2: if they could make it because they're really physical and
[15:19] Speaker 2: they could disrupt force a lot of error. They got
[15:21] Speaker 2: a lot of areas out of Tino in that game too,
[15:23] Speaker 2: because they're physical, they're strong and they can kind of
[15:25] Speaker 2: bring you down to their level and make it an ugly,
[15:27] Speaker 2: scrappy game. But with the footye, I think in three
[15:30] Speaker 2: games they scored only like two or three tries. They
[15:32] Speaker 2: just could not with the football, the quality of the attack,
[15:35] Speaker 2: the attention to detail and like the X factor. They
[15:39] Speaker 2: just didn't have what your likes of months to Harry,
[15:41] Speaker 2: Cleary and Walsh had.
[15:43] Speaker 1: A couple of the players that left out of the
[15:44] Speaker 1: squad Amaze meet. Now. I'm not sure whether it was
[15:47] Speaker 1: an injury, particularly with Maddie Nicholson. I'm not sure about that,
[15:51] Speaker 1: but two of the first forwards I would have picked
[15:53] Speaker 1: a fold Sean Wayne would have been Maddie Nicholson and
[15:56] Speaker 1: a young Blake who's a wig and young backrower at
[15:58] Speaker 1: junior in Noceumber. He is a very very special player.
[16:02] Speaker 1: On the app he maybe went off a little bit
[16:05] Speaker 1: as far as his form, but when we're in Vegas,
[16:08] Speaker 1: I tipped to people, I said, mate, you watched this kid.
[16:10] Speaker 1: It's just a powerhouse. And I was amazed that neither
[16:14] Speaker 1: of those players were picked. As I said before, I
[16:16] Speaker 1: don't know whether there was a slight injury, but Nicholson,
[16:19] Speaker 1: up until when he got injured a magic round mate.
[16:21] Speaker 1: He was the best background the competition just outstanding player
[16:25] Speaker 1: Matt in Nicholson.
[16:26] Speaker 2: I couldn't believe They've got so many good talented players
[16:30] Speaker 2: in England right who probably aren't getting noticed because the
[16:32] Speaker 2: competition does have as many eyes on it and it's
[16:34] Speaker 2: not as quality competition. But you see when some of
[16:36] Speaker 2: those players come to the NROL, they make a real
[16:39] Speaker 2: impact and they at like even when Johnny Bateman came over,
[16:42] Speaker 2: like the imput that they can make to an NRL team.
[16:45] Speaker 2: It's just about getting that same culture environment and competition,
[16:49] Speaker 2: particularly in the coaching ranks as well, Like the coaching
[16:52] Speaker 2: in Australia are so good, like it is so good
[16:54] Speaker 2: at the NRL level that if they can sort of
[16:57] Speaker 2: replicate a lot of that cultural stuff and take it
[17:00] Speaker 2: over to the Super League and improve that competition, I
[17:03] Speaker 2: think we'll see the Ashes become quality like it was
[17:06] Speaker 2: back in sort of eighties nineties.
[17:07] Speaker 1: In the nineties. Will keep just a little thing on
[17:10] Speaker 1: that which you may find interesting you and Jacob maybe not.
[17:13] Speaker 1: I find things interesting that surprise, surprise, no one does.
[17:17] Speaker 1: But if you look at the history of the English game, right,
[17:20] Speaker 1: and I think as told from Kangaroo Tours nineteen to
[17:23] Speaker 1: seventy eight we went over the Kangaroo Tour and it
[17:26] Speaker 1: was a really tough hard foot series. When we went
[17:30] Speaker 1: back over in eighty two, it blew that we blew
[17:33] Speaker 1: them out of the water. Now, the question is why
[17:36] Speaker 1: what happened? Now that four years in between Australian sport
[17:40] Speaker 1: we austra and ragularly went through a bit of a
[17:41] Speaker 1: revolution as far as diet, diet, nutrition, but also training,
[17:47] Speaker 1: skill work, fitness, all those things. But the other one
[17:50] Speaker 1: that happened in between that time, crucially with state of
[17:52] Speaker 1: origin football emerged and that took our rugby league, your
[17:56] Speaker 1: elop players to a completely level, another level or two up.
[18:01] Speaker 1: And so when we went over there these players and
[18:04] Speaker 1: made mind you we had a fair side. There was
[18:06] Speaker 1: a place like Steve Rodgers you wouldn't have seen played
[18:08] Speaker 1: who was made just a genius footballer. Malmoning Wally Lewis
[18:13] Speaker 1: in eighty two could not have made this starting lineup.
[18:16] Speaker 1: It was Stirling and Kenny. But that team when they
[18:20] Speaker 1: went over there, and this is what I'm talking about.
[18:22] Speaker 1: My wish was that side that went away could have
[18:26] Speaker 1: been it's on paper one of the greatest Australian touring sides. Now,
[18:29] Speaker 1: if they'd have really got going. On one hand, you're
[18:33] Speaker 1: looking going, oh mate, this is bad for England, We're
[18:35] Speaker 1: beaten them by forty points. But on the other hand,
[18:37] Speaker 1: I would have loved for the English public to sit
[18:39] Speaker 1: there and watch on the BBC and just gone, my god,
[18:43] Speaker 1: how good are these blokes? That would have been That's
[18:47] Speaker 1: a different kind of advertisement for the game, but a
[18:50] Speaker 1: great one.
[18:51] Speaker 2: The point you make there, I think a big part
[18:53] Speaker 2: of why, especially in these big representatives games you see
[18:57] Speaker 2: like Monster Cleary, Harry Reese Walsh, they go to the
[18:59] Speaker 2: next level. It'd be interesting to see the effect like
[19:03] Speaker 2: State of Origins had with these players they practiced. They
[19:06] Speaker 2: get three games a year on this huge stage against
[19:09] Speaker 2: the best players in that comp and they get to
[19:11] Speaker 2: practice at an intensity of a game that is unlike
[19:15] Speaker 2: you can get a replicate a Club Land yep. If
[19:19] Speaker 2: the Super League was able to replicate a State of
[19:21] Speaker 2: Origin s type thing like North England verse South England
[19:24] Speaker 2: where all the best players in that comp play against
[19:27] Speaker 2: each other for a three games series during the year,
[19:29] Speaker 2: I think you'd see a lot of improvement in those players,
[19:31] Speaker 2: like in the individual players that go there, because you're
[19:33] Speaker 2: being exposed to a really high level of football, and
[19:36] Speaker 2: I think you'd see a rapid improvement in those players.
[19:39] Speaker 1: They've tried before. They try to think called the War
[19:44] Speaker 1: of the Roses, which back historically, the War of the
[19:47] Speaker 1: Roses was a war between Lancashire and Yorkshire. They tried
[19:51] Speaker 1: that over there. They tried a state of origin concept
[19:53] Speaker 1: with all the Lancashire players now Lancashire, or all the players
[19:57] Speaker 1: from Wigan and Saint Helen's and Warrington and so on,
[20:01] Speaker 1: and all the Yorkshire teams were like teams like Leeds
[20:04] Speaker 1: and Castleford and so on, and so that it just
[20:07] Speaker 1: never caught on. I never caught the imagination of the public,
[20:11] Speaker 1: and a lot of the public over there were going,
[20:13] Speaker 1: why are our best Why are they our best players
[20:18] Speaker 1: playing against each other?
[20:19] Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
[20:20] Speaker 1: If that makes sense. It never the concept never took
[20:23] Speaker 1: off that they should. But the more we go over
[20:25] Speaker 1: and the more they come out here, the better it
[20:27] Speaker 1: is for their game. But I thought individually some of
[20:30] Speaker 1: the performances Munster was two things about Monster. I thought
[20:34] Speaker 1: his performances are outstanding. Crucially for Munster, he's adjusting his
[20:39] Speaker 1: game as he gets older. He's had the hip and
[20:42] Speaker 1: growing problems. He doesn't have that, saying that he's lost
[20:45] Speaker 1: a meter a speed which happens when you get past
[20:47] Speaker 1: thirty anyone, and weighed on but he's he'll love that.
[20:51] Speaker 1: But he's adjusted his game. Mate, He's playing a lot
[20:54] Speaker 1: smarter game these days. He's kicking game was outstanding. And
[20:58] Speaker 1: the other thing I loved to about Munster. I was
[21:00] Speaker 1: watching nine News the other night and there was a
[21:03] Speaker 1: mother there and it breaks heart, a young mother with
[21:07] Speaker 1: her beautiful little son who was sitting in a whel
[21:10] Speaker 1: chair who had brain cancer. And Munster went straight over
[21:13] Speaker 1: and like you know, shook the kid, give the kid
[21:15] Speaker 1: a cuddle and his mum. Then Keon Kalama Tonguey went
[21:18] Speaker 1: over as well. Then all the team come over. I
[21:21] Speaker 1: just thought, there are some things that are more important
[21:23] Speaker 1: than football, and so well, Dounder the boys over there,
[21:26] Speaker 1: because my understanding they've been doing. They did things like
[21:28] Speaker 1: that all the way through the tour. Were very well received.
[21:31] Speaker 2: Unsurprisingly, Yeah, they looked like they enjoyed themselves over there
[21:34] Speaker 2: as well. Looks like they were having a good time.
[21:36] Speaker 2: But well, you said, Munster, you know what I think
[21:39] Speaker 2: was good for why Monster excelled in that environment as well,
[21:42] Speaker 2: because those the English team don't really wrestle that much.
[21:46] Speaker 2: Like they hit very hard. They're physical, but they don't
[21:48] Speaker 2: slow the play the ball down like most Australian teams
[21:51] Speaker 2: do and what Monsters used to. So you saw, like
[21:53] Speaker 2: you said you saw while she saw Monster, you saw
[21:55] Speaker 2: Harry playing out of his skin because they were getting
[21:58] Speaker 2: a lot of quick play the balls, like the attack
[22:01] Speaker 2: was so much quicker than they used to, which brings
[22:03] Speaker 2: Monster and those lads in it ree Whilsh was unbelievable
[22:06] Speaker 2: that try that he scored off the scrum in game three.
[22:09] Speaker 1: We just caught it.
[22:10] Speaker 2: Really wide, fifteen meters wide pass from Harry off the
[22:12] Speaker 2: scrum and then just goes left foot, left foot goes
[22:15] Speaker 2: over untaxed.
[22:15] Speaker 1: Well, the man who you watch, if you get back
[22:17] Speaker 1: and watch that right, what he does, he's so clever Ruse.
[22:20] Speaker 1: He'll sit opposite the bloke who's marked him like he's
[22:23] Speaker 1: target defender. He'll sit opposite him, and that defender whose
[22:27] Speaker 1: opposite is acutely aware of Reese's speed. And so when
[22:30] Speaker 1: the ball gets fired from the scrum from Nathan, you
[22:32] Speaker 1: watch he fades, he fades, and when up like defensively.
[22:36] Speaker 1: Let people know you're supposed to go up dead straight,
[22:38] Speaker 1: bolt straight, and if he fades, he runs into another defender.
[22:42] Speaker 1: But Reese is so lightning quick that that defender loses
[22:46] Speaker 1: their nerve and actually starts chasing early, so that fade,
[22:49] Speaker 1: you watch him, he just goes check, check, and just
[22:51] Speaker 1: goes straight through.
[22:52] Speaker 2: They all over chase. They all have to come off
[22:54] Speaker 2: sideways because he's just too quick for him.
[22:56] Speaker 1: Other than what an ambassador to mate, oh mate, But
[23:00] Speaker 1: like the way he gave himself to the public. Yeah,
[23:03] Speaker 1: you know it's good on him and a.
[23:04] Speaker 2: Bloody, handsome young boy at that other big news in
[23:07] Speaker 2: rugby leagues chez ar DC.
[23:09] Speaker 1: And just one moment. You can't mention him because people
[23:11] Speaker 1: give it to you to event all the time. But
[23:13] Speaker 1: well do Harry. I think it's in between Harry Grant
[23:16] Speaker 1: and Monster for the Golden Boot Now I think Harry
[23:18] Speaker 1: is a dog.
[23:19] Speaker 4: Just quickly before we actually do change topic. While we're
[23:23] Speaker 4: in England at the moment, we haven't spoken too much
[23:25] Speaker 4: about the Ashes and about what's going on between the
[23:28] Speaker 4: NROL and the Super League.
[23:29] Speaker 3: It's going to get your.
[23:30] Speaker 4: Opinion cover what are your thoughts on the London Broncos,
[23:33] Speaker 4: the consortium that went over there getting bumped back. Do
[23:36] Speaker 4: you think it has something to do with the NRL
[23:38] Speaker 4: and the Super League maybe negotiating to get the deal done.
[23:40] Speaker 1: Well, it's interesting, Jack, because it seems as though that
[23:43] Speaker 1: franchise is going to be a no brainer. That's a
[23:45] Speaker 1: strange one, you know, Jack, I'll tear what it might
[23:47] Speaker 1: be because there's a real split over there in the
[23:50] Speaker 1: rugby league. Half of the clubs are really cool for
[23:52] Speaker 1: the NRL to take over the other half ago and no, no, no,
[23:55] Speaker 1: we don't need the We don't need the Aussies, we
[23:57] Speaker 1: don't need the NRL. Let's just for Joe Path. I
[24:01] Speaker 1: wonder Jack, given the fact that London appeared to be
[24:04] Speaker 1: going to be almost like a bit of an Aussie club,
[24:07] Speaker 1: if that makes sense, whether that was one of the reasons.
[24:10] Speaker 4: I was suspecting. Do you think if they're negotiating it
[24:12] Speaker 4: becomes a bit of murky If there's an Australian money
[24:14] Speaker 4: going towards a English side and then the Neral's looking
[24:18] Speaker 4: to buy the franchise as a part of a bigger deal,
[24:21] Speaker 4: does it become sort of like maybe the nroll in
[24:24] Speaker 4: that negotiation might be a bit of a bargaining chip
[24:26] Speaker 4: for for the English side.
[24:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, Jack, I don't know. It's a really precarious situation
[24:32] Speaker 1: at the moment. Shane Richardson, he's very good operator, Richo,
[24:36] Speaker 1: and he spent a lot of time in England with
[24:38] Speaker 1: Gates hid Thunder excuse me emotional and then and then
[24:42] Speaker 1: Hull Richo's gone, and Richo pushed forward over there from
[24:48] Speaker 1: the people he's got associates over there to say, guys,
[24:52] Speaker 1: shortened the competition, like I'm sorry, narrow, eliminate a few
[24:56] Speaker 1: of the teams, knock it downwards to an eight or
[24:58] Speaker 1: ten teen competition. Let the NRLL take over and things
[25:02] Speaker 1: will start to change. They've gone the other way. They've
[25:04] Speaker 1: expanded now, in my opinion, expansion. I think it was.
[25:09] Speaker 1: I think it's crazy for them at the moment because
[25:12] Speaker 1: they're going to look, they're struggling for depth already. Then
[25:15] Speaker 1: they've got another three or four sides that have come in,
[25:18] Speaker 1: and on top of that, we've got two sides coming.
[25:20] Speaker 2: In and I think even the like they're even struggling
[25:23] Speaker 2: with depth with the sides that they've got, and they've
[25:25] Speaker 2: got we've got a lot of talent and crop to
[25:27] Speaker 2: pick from where a super leg is struggling with depth
[25:30] Speaker 2: and talent right now.
[25:31] Speaker 1: And coops and you just know that P and G
[25:33] Speaker 1: and Perth are going to have there's a fair chance
[25:36] Speaker 1: Perth is going to have quite a number of English players.
[25:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, yes, all right, DC to the rooster's finally
[25:43] Speaker 2: been announced. Obviously it was a deal that was probably
[25:46] Speaker 2: done verbally about six months ago, but it's only just
[25:49] Speaker 2: been announced. Thoughts on it, mate, I'm a big fan
[25:52] Speaker 2: of it. I think it's a good decision. I think
[25:55] Speaker 2: it definitely makes them a premiership threat short term. M
[25:59] Speaker 2: what happens we Hugo Savala, I don't know. I don't
[26:02] Speaker 2: know where he's going to go. If he wants to
[26:03] Speaker 2: sit behind him for a year or two, you could
[26:05] Speaker 2: probably get a start somewhere else, though he.
[26:08] Speaker 1: Could somewhere else, but could you know, not so much
[26:10] Speaker 1: to sit behind him, It would be sit alongside him.
[26:13] Speaker 1: Like you know that three men walk three minutes? Yeah three?
[26:17] Speaker 1: You know, as we know it takes you need more
[26:19] Speaker 1: than just two sort of playmakers in that top seventeen.
[26:22] Speaker 1: So Hugo or one of them could push to assume
[26:25] Speaker 1: that fourteen roll. Hugo is going to learn and Sam
[26:30] Speaker 1: seim walking and learn a lot off DC, that's for sure.
[26:33] Speaker 1: And Hugo, the temptation for Hugo is to go, you know,
[26:36] Speaker 1: go mate, look I've proven myself, then you've got to
[26:38] Speaker 1: sign on this bloke. My advice to Hugo would be
[26:42] Speaker 1: just be patient. Mate, might bidy in new minutes and
[26:44] Speaker 1: all that, you know, but what it's going to do
[26:46] Speaker 1: in the long term is going to make you a
[26:48] Speaker 1: better footballer.
[26:49] Speaker 2: I'm excited to see how the dynameterter in him and
[26:51] Speaker 2: Sammy Walker works because Samuel Hawker's obviously played half back.
[26:54] Speaker 2: He's on the right side for his kicking and that's
[26:57] Speaker 2: his preferred side, but he'll probably have to move over
[26:59] Speaker 2: to the left to allow Cherry on his preferred right side.
[27:03] Speaker 2: I'm interested to see how that dynamic was. I think
[27:05] Speaker 2: it's kind of good because Sam's not like Sam Walker
[27:09] Speaker 2: probably works better off the cuff as just a pure
[27:12] Speaker 2: reactor and just you know, early kicks using his footwork
[27:15] Speaker 2: when he sees tied defenders, whereas Cherry can probably assume
[27:19] Speaker 2: more of that steering them around the park role.
[27:22] Speaker 1: But as you've said before, but Cherry's best attribute is
[27:26] Speaker 1: his spot. When you see that reactive role as well,
[27:28] Speaker 1: so you know it's going to be a real good
[27:30] Speaker 1: I'd say Trent Robinson, He's sitting out there going how
[27:32] Speaker 1: do I solve this equation? So I like to play
[27:35] Speaker 1: a sort of structured style of attack. But now my
[27:37] Speaker 1: two principal playmakers and organizers are brilliant ad lib reactive,
[27:43] Speaker 1: reactive players. So how are we going to work this?
[27:45] Speaker 1: You know, what are we going to do? It will
[27:47] Speaker 1: be intriguing.
[27:48] Speaker 2: I'd like to see it.
[27:48] Speaker 1: I think the change, I think the change in how
[27:52] Speaker 1: they may go about their football. I think it would
[27:54] Speaker 1: be really good for the Roosters.
[27:55] Speaker 2: Yeah, and they've got James Tedesco, who's probably one of
[27:58] Speaker 2: the best ad lib footy players ever, quick play, that
[28:00] Speaker 2: just gets it and does his own things. So I'm
[28:03] Speaker 2: keen to see how those three work together. Cherry's played
[28:06] Speaker 2: a lot of footy with Teddy. This is actually I
[28:08] Speaker 2: caught up with Cherry during the week. Holy shit, he's
[28:10] Speaker 2: going to have the earliest preseason date that he's ever had.
[28:12] Speaker 2: I think he was about late November's. I think he's
[28:16] Speaker 2: kicking off. But he's a bloke that hasn't really, He's
[28:18] Speaker 2: done so many NRLD preseasons at mainly he hasn't been
[28:21] Speaker 2: back in November, probably since he was nineteen twenty years old.
[28:25] Speaker 1: I reckon and exciting for him. Mate, He's going to
[28:27] Speaker 1: walk into a brand new schoolyard he's established at Manly.
[28:31] Speaker 1: He walks in there. Everyone knows what Cherry's about. But
[28:33] Speaker 1: now he walks in, it doesn't matter. You know, people
[28:35] Speaker 1: will go, oh, you know, he's got nothing to prove.
[28:38] Speaker 1: Any person who walks into a new club, whether it's
[28:42] Speaker 1: Diego Maradona, Andrew John's, Dally Tree Evans, they all feel
[28:47] Speaker 1: they've got something to prove to their teammates. And that's
[28:49] Speaker 1: exciting for him.
[28:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a little bit like I don't know
[28:52] Speaker 2: what to expect. He was like the unknown of this
[28:54] Speaker 2: new Like I've never been to another club before. Like
[28:57] Speaker 2: so this new program, new gym pro like all these
[29:01] Speaker 2: different running techniques, Like there's so much, there's a whole
[29:04] Speaker 2: playbook he's got to learn as a halfback.
[29:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it'll be your very best coop no matter
[29:08] Speaker 1: what it is. You need nerves, you need that apprehension,
[29:12] Speaker 1: that feeling, you got that little bit of fear and
[29:15] Speaker 1: that's what's going to give him this change. Walking into
[29:17] Speaker 1: that first daid of training, his guts will be rumbling.
[29:20] Speaker 1: It'd be like he's rookie again walking back into Manley and.
[29:23] Speaker 2: Little Ryan poopench Mounts and Ryan Papenhausen. Little Pappy has
[29:26] Speaker 2: immediately left the storm. There's the rumors of Rugby three
[29:30] Speaker 2: sixty after the next year when they start. I think
[29:34] Speaker 2: they start November twenty twenty six was when that competition starts,
[29:37] Speaker 2: So there's a lot of time in between. But he's
[29:39] Speaker 2: taken time off to just think about what he's going
[29:42] Speaker 2: to do. I mean me personally, no one perhaps knowing.
[29:46] Speaker 3: What he's like.
[29:46] Speaker 2: It actually wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't go to
[29:49] Speaker 2: Rugby three sixty, he doesn't play any of it.
[29:51] Speaker 1: Just wouldn't spruce.
[29:52] Speaker 2: If he just goes pulls a play, would not surprise
[29:54] Speaker 2: me at all.
[29:55] Speaker 1: He seems to me be a kid that as far
[29:58] Speaker 1: as on the peaking order of life rugby league s
[30:01] Speaker 1: it's about four or five.
[30:02] Speaker 2: He's got so much going on. He's smart, like he
[30:04] Speaker 2: knows his bloody like business and stock markets really well.
[30:08] Speaker 2: So I think in sex too. Yeah, back in the
[30:11] Speaker 2: day they'll stick in sex breeding. But I think he's Yeah,
[30:15] Speaker 2: I think he's keen to have success post football in
[30:19] Speaker 2: whatever he wants to do as well. So it wouldn't
[30:21] Speaker 2: shock me if that. I mean, he's quite young still
[30:24] Speaker 2: and he's still got a lot to offer. Would be
[30:26] Speaker 2: good to see him, potentially if he wants to go
[30:27] Speaker 2: to Rubby three sixty, be good to still see the
[30:30] Speaker 2: flying mallets still run around.
[30:31] Speaker 1: What are the boys saying that? Do they think he's
[30:33] Speaker 1: going to three sixty?
[30:35] Speaker 2: They don't know. They actually don't know. No one's really
[30:37] Speaker 2: Everyone's kind of like like, I don't know what he's
[30:39] Speaker 2: gonna do, But everyone sort of said the same thing,
[30:41] Speaker 2: like knowing peraps, you actually don't know what he's going
[30:44] Speaker 2: to do. Like usually you can make a guess and
[30:46] Speaker 2: it's quite easy, you know, like with chairs it was
[30:48] Speaker 2: quite easy to know knowing chairs, know he's still had
[30:50] Speaker 2: something to give that he was going to play on,
[30:52] Speaker 2: like he wasn't going to give it up, but with
[30:54] Speaker 2: perhaps quite unpredictable. Like I sit there and I was
[30:57] Speaker 2: thinking about it, and I go, I I wouldn't not
[30:59] Speaker 2: show me if he just goes. You know, I've had
[31:01] Speaker 2: I've had fun playing foot I've went a Clive Church,
[31:02] Speaker 2: I want a premiership. I've played over one hundred games.
[31:05] Speaker 2: Now I'm keen to do something else.
[31:07] Speaker 1: If it was to say to you Cooper that you'll
[31:09] Speaker 1: never ever talk to Ryan Pappenhausen again, like basically in
[31:12] Speaker 1: your life, he'll just disappear out of you, would that
[31:14] Speaker 1: surprise you, Uh? Not really.
[31:18] Speaker 2: I'd hope he doesn't just disappear because I like Paps. Yeah,
[31:21] Speaker 2: But he he is quite like an introvert and does
[31:23] Speaker 2: his own thing off the field. Like there was some
[31:27] Speaker 2: I remember there was a year there, but he'd had
[31:29] Speaker 2: a couple of head knocks at this stage. But like
[31:30] Speaker 2: we didn't even see perhaps for like four months, and
[31:33] Speaker 2: he was just kind of went and did his own thing,
[31:35] Speaker 2: did a lot of reading, had to have a lot
[31:36] Speaker 2: of blueberries for his brain because they're really good, Like
[31:38] Speaker 2: he was doing concussion stuff. So he just kind of
[31:40] Speaker 2: removed himself from like everyone and just did his own thing.
[31:43] Speaker 2: He's very He's not the kind of guy that would
[31:47] Speaker 2: just text you on the day off and be like
[31:48] Speaker 2: let's go do this, Let's go to this. Where most
[31:50] Speaker 2: of the boys are like that. He's quite a different
[31:52] Speaker 2: mold of rugby league player. But there's so many different
[31:56] Speaker 2: personalities and types and of rugby league club that's what
[31:58] Speaker 2: makes it up. But yeah, he is quite different in
[32:00] Speaker 2: that sense.
[32:00] Speaker 1: And on that note, just but my memory about like
[32:02] Speaker 1: head knocks put in a big cheered out to elikto.
[32:05] Speaker 2: Yeah that was that was.
[32:06] Speaker 1: Terrifying, man, Yeah, that was sickening what happened. Just man.
[32:09] Speaker 1: That was when when I was sitting he was sitting
[32:11] Speaker 1: on the bench and I looked and I said, the
[32:13] Speaker 1: true true you could to kind of look to see
[32:15] Speaker 1: this when you're sitting there and you see Oh man,
[32:18] Speaker 1: it was. It was frightening.
[32:19] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[32:19] Speaker 2: I look, I don't know the ins and outs of
[32:22] Speaker 2: the whole doctor protocol or that. I don't want to
[32:24] Speaker 2: question went on that. But when I saw that, I
[32:28] Speaker 2: didn't actually watch the game that tongue in game, but
[32:31] Speaker 2: when I saw Lehigh knock him head class there and
[32:33] Speaker 2: knock him out in the warm up, I thought geez
[32:35] Speaker 2: Ellies was out of the game before the game started.
[32:37] Speaker 2: And then when I heard what had happened after, I
[32:41] Speaker 2: was shocked that he played the game. Seeing the footage
[32:43] Speaker 2: that I saw, I was so shocked and I was
[32:46] Speaker 2: like he in my opinion, like I've seen a lot
[32:48] Speaker 2: of headaches. I'm no doctor, though I don't know what
[32:50] Speaker 2: test they did, but when I saw it, he should
[32:54] Speaker 2: not have gone out there, just from my opinion. But
[32:56] Speaker 2: I'm no, I'm no doctor. You're not a doctor, no, no, no,
[32:59] Speaker 2: although I am a doctor of rugby league to go
[33:02] Speaker 2: his game off.
[33:02] Speaker 1: All bloody look. Yeah, I'm looking to second guess the
[33:06] Speaker 1: doctors and all the things that went on. We just
[33:07] Speaker 1: wish him all the very best because maybe it was
[33:09] Speaker 1: it was that was incredibly scary, And I think about
[33:12] Speaker 1: his parents sitting there game like watching. I imagine I
[33:16] Speaker 1: don't know that he actually played. The worries he feeling
[33:18] Speaker 1: may have been there, but I hope they were, because
[33:21] Speaker 1: to watch from afar, that must have been your worst nightmare.
[33:25] Speaker 1: The other one is paying housekeeps talk about isn't hasn't
[33:29] Speaker 1: like he was. He was mooded before that. They were
[33:32] Speaker 1: looking at him, but suddenly out of the blue, they're
[33:33] Speaker 1: saying they're offering him three million dollars a year, three six. Yeah,
[33:38] Speaker 1: and that the way it's been spoken about, a fat
[33:41] Speaker 1: com pleae. He's going to go sheeus. I hope not.
[33:44] Speaker 2: I hope not, because I feel like he's still got
[33:45] Speaker 2: so much a given regularly. I know he's, but Jesus
[33:49] Speaker 2: has done a lot for a bloke. He's the same
[33:51] Speaker 2: age as me, he's twenty six, and Pain has now
[33:55] Speaker 2: done everything in the game origin now on a Grand
[33:58] Speaker 2: final like he's he has got much left to prove,
[34:01] Speaker 2: like and seeing what he's I could definitely see him
[34:06] Speaker 2: going and playing in that rugby three like R three
[34:09] Speaker 2: sixty over? And I think, are they going to be
[34:10] Speaker 2: based out of Dubai coops?
[34:12] Speaker 1: Well, now you get to pick your address. Oh so
[34:15] Speaker 1: you still think? I just I don't know. I'm looking
[34:17] Speaker 1: at it, like obviously there's a lot going on behind,
[34:21] Speaker 1: Like they don't tell the public everything, but they're going
[34:25] Speaker 1: to the franchises, franchises in Dubai Toky, London, London, Paris, Miami.
[34:33] Speaker 1: I was just going right, and they're saying they've got
[34:36] Speaker 1: a TV deal with YouTube. You know what I heard?
[34:39] Speaker 2: You know what I heard. I don't know what I
[34:40] Speaker 2: heard the other day, right, so this is now, Look, listeners,
[34:44] Speaker 2: all of our little back fences listening all right. I
[34:46] Speaker 2: just wanted to be knowing I am not like what
[34:50] Speaker 2: I say. I know a lot of you listen to
[34:52] Speaker 2: what I say, and you two did his gospel. But
[34:54] Speaker 2: I am not God, but this is what I inside herd.
[34:57] Speaker 1: So this is a revelation you've just said before not
[35:00] Speaker 1: a doctor. No, No, that blew me away straight away
[35:03] Speaker 1: because you put me in those antibiotics just before. And
[35:06] Speaker 1: secondly depositories and you tewish are the ones that go
[35:12] Speaker 1: in your ass? Yeah, that's what's the pository and you
[35:20] Speaker 1: put it on the shelf. That's what they say.
[35:22] Speaker 2: That's what Shanda used to say. You poke it in
[35:24] Speaker 2: like you're at the post office and you know, you
[35:26] Speaker 2: put it in the thing go like that like you
[35:28] Speaker 2: know how the old post So you feel the suction
[35:31] Speaker 2: because we used to do it the silver bullet and
[35:33] Speaker 2: we would put it in and then Shandos said, you
[35:35] Speaker 2: just curl your index finger and just pop it on
[35:37] Speaker 2: the shelf to the left and then you'll feel the
[35:40] Speaker 2: and they just take it off. Wow, straight into the gart.
[35:43] Speaker 1: I'll give that a gar. What was the point Cooper's
[35:46] Speaker 1: not a doctor and the other one was said, he's
[35:49] Speaker 1: not God. What was I about to say?
[35:50] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sorry, someone tipped me off saying that R
[35:53] Speaker 2: three sixty. They actually haven't got the funding for it yet, right,
[35:56] Speaker 2: So what they're doing is they're looking to sign all
[35:59] Speaker 2: these big names and then once they've got the big names,
[36:02] Speaker 2: they're hoping to get the funding and then it will
[36:04] Speaker 2: go ahead if they can get the funding. So what
[36:06] Speaker 2: could potentially happen is like, this is just what I'm
[36:09] Speaker 2: hearing allegedly. Let me throw that in there. But if
[36:12] Speaker 2: they have all these sign all these big name players,
[36:15] Speaker 2: the competition could still fall through in six months because
[36:19] Speaker 2: they don't get the proper funding needed to do the
[36:21] Speaker 2: whole competition. So I don't know how true that is.
[36:25] Speaker 2: That's just what an insider told me the other day
[36:27] Speaker 2: on the street, but he was homeless, so I don't know.
[36:31] Speaker 4: Again too, But like they'd have to negotiate the TV
[36:34] Speaker 4: deal and that would have to be like that would
[36:37] Speaker 4: dictate most of the money.
[36:38] Speaker 3: Now think so, But you're.
[36:39] Speaker 1: Saying that they might be right. They might be reversing
[36:42] Speaker 1: reverse engineering it. Let's get the players, let's get the
[36:45] Speaker 1: star power. Then we'll take it to the broadcasting, to
[36:49] Speaker 1: the sponsors after that. But that's a big risk.
[36:52] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big risk.
[36:53] Speaker 1: And the other thing about it, Coopses and Jack is
[36:56] Speaker 1: that sport is support is at his tribal and it's
[37:00] Speaker 1: purest form. It is tribal. And I'm looking and going, okay,
[37:04] Speaker 1: so this team in Miami, there's a team and take
[37:07] Speaker 1: you there's a team in Dubai.
[37:09] Speaker 2: Like I just go as it too international, it's too broad.
[37:14] Speaker 1: Even when Liverpool were winning Champions League, the thing that
[37:18] Speaker 1: really stuck in their craws was the fact that they
[37:20] Speaker 1: hadn't won a Premier League title or a league title
[37:23] Speaker 1: for such a long time. And even though they won
[37:25] Speaker 1: Champions leagues like you know, AC Milan and the top
[37:28] Speaker 1: clubs for European glory, for them it was secondary because
[37:32] Speaker 1: they hadn't you know, it was a bittersweet because they
[37:35] Speaker 1: hadn't won the league. That's an example how the purest
[37:38] Speaker 1: form of sport is tribal.
[37:41] Speaker 2: Their competitiveness like New Soos, Queensland are states that really
[37:45] Speaker 2: kind of don't like it. Tell that even outside of
[37:48] Speaker 2: State of Orange.
[37:49] Speaker 1: Let's look at some of the big cities around the world. Right,
[37:51] Speaker 1: so you've got let's go Glasgow Celtic versus Glasgow Rangers,
[37:57] Speaker 1: Fenerba versus Galatas. Right in this dambul all these ac
[38:02] Speaker 1: Milan into Milan Manchester night of Manchester City, Munich versus
[38:07] Speaker 1: Player Munich versus Bruce Adortment a little bit further away.
[38:11] Speaker 1: But you know, in sport and and in and if
[38:16] Speaker 1: you like, and the best one in rugby league, the
[38:18] Speaker 1: biggest derby and rugby league is South Sidney rabbit Os
[38:21] Speaker 1: versus Sidney Easterns Roosters, or in England Whole kr versus
[38:26] Speaker 1: Hull Orson Helen's versus Wigan. They just sit alongside each other.
[38:30] Speaker 4: That's the like, that's the one like you can you
[38:33] Speaker 4: make die hard fans by like through just people because
[38:36] Speaker 4: unless they get Taylor Swift, I can't see that happening too.
[38:40] Speaker 4: Swift as playing well, she's a bit of a cult herself.
[38:43] Speaker 4: Like if I'd say they signed Taylor Swift, I reckon
[38:45] Speaker 4: there's a fair chance they'd have quite the following. Whatever
[38:47] Speaker 4: team she signs for, what position would she play that?
[38:52] Speaker 1: Anyway?
[38:53] Speaker 2: Sorry there, Jack, Jack's really really when he Jack chimes
[38:57] Speaker 2: in today, really very random, very very random.
[39:01] Speaker 1: I like it. Random. Jack's a good Jack.
[39:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, we're gett into the back end of
[39:04] Speaker 2: the year, so happy, happy to allow that.
[39:07] Speaker 3: I'm about to go to Thailand. So I'm hitting the yeah, yeah,
[39:13] Speaker 3: I'm hitting the backstraps. I'm looking for Uncle Ricos thinking
[39:15] Speaker 3: about that.
[39:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, that our man in white Latus letting it have
[39:22] Speaker 1: been railed. Who are going over there? Still the greatest movie?
[39:26] Speaker 2: Going there on your own?
[39:27] Speaker 4: No, I'm taking gem there. You're missing out on Thailand
[39:30] Speaker 4: just for eight days and then we'll be back and
[39:33] Speaker 4: back following in to for the rest of the year.
[39:34] Speaker 3: Mate.
[39:35] Speaker 1: As I said before, Jack, go to Bangkok, go to
[39:37] Speaker 1: the Chinatown of Bangkok. It is insane. You know, it's
[39:40] Speaker 1: the greatest.
[39:40] Speaker 2: Experiencecause I'm going to be home home stallone because you
[39:44] Speaker 2: guys are all going to be out and there might
[39:46] Speaker 2: be a little bit of a shindig being thrown. I'm jealous,
[39:51] Speaker 2: you know.
[39:52] Speaker 1: Anyway, that's good stuff.
[39:53] Speaker 2: Sorry, did I have to do? We have anything else?
[39:55] Speaker 1: All I want to say is this. In recording this,
[39:57] Speaker 1: we're about to go upstairs. We're going to watch the
[39:59] Speaker 1: Pacific Champion. Oh yeah, okay, So if we're not, we're not.
[40:02] Speaker 1: Haven't been speaking about that directly because we haven't seen
[40:05] Speaker 1: it yet for reasons which we will not disclose. Yeah,
[40:09] Speaker 1: we had to do the podcast early, but what.
[40:12] Speaker 2: Reason was that.
[40:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, you said, I don't know what the reason is.
[40:15] Speaker 3: Can you go ahead and tell us?
[40:18] Speaker 2: Do you have a reason?
[40:19] Speaker 1: Rhymes pokys?
[40:21] Speaker 2: What rhymes with that?
[40:23] Speaker 1: Stoky? I don't know, No, no, no, I've just got
[40:26] Speaker 1: some stuff.
[40:26] Speaker 2: You know what's good. We've got cheese. Brandon Smith, he's upstairs.
[40:30] Speaker 2: He's playing like that's why we duck down here. So
[40:32] Speaker 2: sheal nice to get away from him for a bit
[40:34] Speaker 2: because he's got that much energy at the moment, talking
[40:36] Speaker 2: me years off. But he's up there playing monopoly with Tree.
[40:39] Speaker 1: He looks good brand.
[40:40] Speaker 2: He's up there playing monopoly with Trish Trush, Oh my god.
[40:43] Speaker 2: And I can think of nothing worse than playing ball
[40:46] Speaker 2: games for you, Tresh.
[40:47] Speaker 1: Oh mate, borders in not be a B A B
[40:53] Speaker 1: going b O A R D. It's b O R
[40:57] Speaker 1: E D. You got bored?
[40:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, you're off today?
[41:00] Speaker 1: What a way to finish your off today?
[41:02] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[41:03] Speaker 1: Just I'm still buzzing for Oasis.
[41:05] Speaker 2: You're still buzzing climax early inside.
[41:09] Speaker 1: You're the underclass. Okay, yeah, okay.
[41:13] Speaker 4: One
