[0:00] Speaker 1: Welcome back to another week of the John's Family Podcast.
[0:02] Speaker 1: Happy Friday, Everyone.
[0:04] Speaker 2: Friday, Happy Happy.
[0:06] Speaker 1: Wait so happy, Wait you're introduced. Dad is obviously over
[0:13] Speaker 1: in Washington, d C for the UFC. Wait till you're introduced.
[0:18] Speaker 1: God damn it, no one made you the boss, Cooper.
[0:20] Speaker 2: I'm actually the oldest.
[0:21] Speaker 1: By far by long way, wait, a really long way.
[0:25] Speaker 1: But we do have a very special guest. Everyone who's
[0:27] Speaker 1: been listening to John's Family Podcast for a long time
[0:30] Speaker 1: since day got back in twenty twenty during covid our
[0:33] Speaker 1: producer Gav, who was an integral part of the show.
[0:36] Speaker 1: He didn't actually have a mic, but you could often
[0:38] Speaker 1: hear him laughing and spluttering and being handsy with Trish
[0:41] Speaker 1: behind the microphone and camera. But he joins us here
[0:44] Speaker 1: today in the seat of one and only Matthew Johones.
[0:47] Speaker 3: Gav the big seat. Welcome Maddie Jones's seat. Trish, how
[0:51] Speaker 3: are you giving me a fish?
[0:52] Speaker 2: I can't even tell you how excited I am.
[0:54] Speaker 3: Well, hope you are, because a home truths are going
[0:57] Speaker 3: to be displayed today because earth, yeah, a little bit unearthed.
[1:02] Speaker 3: Because I don't think the listeners realize I know how
[1:04] Speaker 3: much shit you put on Trish every single week. So today,
[1:08] Speaker 3: all right, it's now two verse two, okay, not three
[1:11] Speaker 3: verse one. Maddie's away, Gav's going to start to fly. Okay,
[1:16] Speaker 3: So that sounded pretty bad to move over just to
[1:22] Speaker 3: kind of liked it, But thanks guys. Absolute pleasure to
[1:26] Speaker 3: be here thanks to Cooper and I and the family
[1:29] Speaker 3: asked me, it's like a bit of a friend's reunion
[1:31] Speaker 3: this morning, wasn't it. It brought back some great memories.
[1:33] Speaker 1: It really is like you used to get here, especially
[1:36] Speaker 1: during COVID. You get here two hours before we just
[1:39] Speaker 1: sit there and shoot the ship. We prepped the podcast.
[1:42] Speaker 1: You're a very big part as to why this podcast
[1:45] Speaker 1: was successful, absolutely to begin with, not being add at
[1:47] Speaker 1: anything but.
[1:49] Speaker 2: Morale, you kept on track as well.
[1:53] Speaker 3: I did.
[1:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, he was actually that you were probably the only
[1:56] Speaker 1: one because now obviously Jackson the real driver's seat where
[1:59] Speaker 1: he's got the mic, but he's also controlling a lot
[2:01] Speaker 1: of stuff and if he feels like something needs to
[2:03] Speaker 1: be edited, he'll chime in. But I think because Jack's family,
[2:07] Speaker 1: you know, there's always pushback. Whereas when you came in
[2:10] Speaker 1: back in the day with the win, because you were
[2:11] Speaker 1: not family. It was like they listened to you straightaway.
[2:14] Speaker 3: Well they would, yeah, But there was a lot back
[2:17] Speaker 3: in the day of how far to push it because
[2:21] Speaker 3: those early on episodes we wanted to see how the
[2:24] Speaker 3: family dynamic would be going, and of course we crossed
[2:27] Speaker 3: the line a lot of times, and I for one,
[2:30] Speaker 3: wanted to keep that sort of stuff in, thinking, you know,
[2:32] Speaker 3: this is going to build very very quickly on the
[2:34] Speaker 3: back of this sort of stuff. But that's where Trish
[2:38] Speaker 3: would step in and we would have a lot of
[2:41] Speaker 3: heated discussions on what should be left in, what should
[2:44] Speaker 3: be left out. Well.
[2:44] Speaker 4: Then the other thing too, is gave liability insurance isn't
[2:47] Speaker 4: isn't cheap?
[2:48] Speaker 3: Well, it's true, and the show was also sponsored as well,
[2:51] Speaker 3: so you had to keep sponsors happy when I would
[2:54] Speaker 3: get phone calls saying, hang on, did they really say
[2:56] Speaker 3: that sort of stuff there? So we did get a
[2:58] Speaker 3: happy medium, didn't we. Trish would Trish would?
[3:01] Speaker 1: You were very heavy on the editing back then. I
[3:03] Speaker 1: think because you were Trish.
[3:05] Speaker 3: Was a lot more protection, trying to protect the boys.
[3:07] Speaker 3: You guys were still playing footy at that stage. You
[3:10] Speaker 3: were at Melbourne and you were at Newcastle soth South
[3:13] Speaker 3: and Newcastle. So probably it probably took about what do
[3:18] Speaker 3: You Reckon? Two years Trish before that trust started to
[3:21] Speaker 3: just sort of yeah, Wayne, you got me when you
[3:24] Speaker 3: we knew exactly what was in, what was appropriate, what
[3:26] Speaker 3: was not. But if there was anything crossing the line,
[3:30] Speaker 3: I would keep in. I would know that, I'd get
[3:33] Speaker 3: a phone call from Trish and we would have the
[3:35] Speaker 3: discussion on whether we should keep it in, whether we
[3:37] Speaker 3: should keep it up. Yeah, it was. It was really good,
[3:39] Speaker 3: and especially back in those days. I want to give
[3:42] Speaker 3: Trisha big a big rap there, because you boys were
[3:45] Speaker 3: playing footy, you guys were full time. Yeah, Maddie was
[3:50] Speaker 3: very hard up with work Fox the rest of it.
[3:52] Speaker 3: So this podcasting stuff was a new thing for all
[3:54] Speaker 3: of us, wasn't it. So Trish was really the.
[3:58] Speaker 1: You don't have can you get your lips off my money?
[4:01] Speaker 3: That's right? Because niple reckon?
[4:04] Speaker 2: That's really low because you know I don't have nipples.
[4:07] Speaker 5: Yeah, Cooper, don't you.
[4:09] Speaker 1: You should know that game.
[4:11] Speaker 2: Double gone?
[4:13] Speaker 3: Okay, fair enough, I feel like that's okay that one, but.
[4:20] Speaker 2: Low Cooper.
[4:21] Speaker 3: Just for the listeners though, it was a very big
[4:24] Speaker 3: driving force in those early years as well for through COVID.
[4:27] Speaker 3: I mean, training wise, you guys were moving places. I
[4:31] Speaker 3: think you're at twin warters at one stage. So just
[4:34] Speaker 3: to even get the podcast up and running was a
[4:38] Speaker 3: big effort in itself.
[4:39] Speaker 1: There was nothing short of a miracle.
[4:40] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[4:41] Speaker 3: Absolutely.
[4:41] Speaker 1: Do you have an introductionary question for you guys? Okay,
[4:44] Speaker 1: because we always like start a little bit of lightheartedness.
[4:47] Speaker 1: If you could be the best at any sport in
[4:49] Speaker 1: the world, which would have been why Patricia.
[4:51] Speaker 6: I'm going tennis Because I don't think I'm really a
[4:55] Speaker 6: team person.
[4:57] Speaker 2: I'm happy to.
[5:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, what a great one show after gave just plugged
[5:03] Speaker 1: you on. You know how we have family.
[5:06] Speaker 6: Are known, but I I am the one. I can
[5:10] Speaker 6: be autonomous, you know what I mean. I don't need
[5:13] Speaker 6: to rely on people. I'm I'm happy to take the credit,
[5:17] Speaker 6: but I'm also happy to take the liability if.
[5:19] Speaker 2: It's me, But I don't want to take someone else's liability.
[5:22] Speaker 5: I will say that's well put. Actually I agree with that.
[5:24] Speaker 1: So yeah, Tennis, gav Well you know what I'm going
[5:28] Speaker 1: to say, halfway for the West Tigers.
[5:31] Speaker 3: No, well, you know five weeks ago, yes, but not now,
[5:35] Speaker 3: not now. But I am representing you've got the Tigers
[5:38] Speaker 3: merchant golf, it's got to be my number one Yeah
[5:42] Speaker 3: on number one passion.
[5:43] Speaker 1: I'm the same as well. And you know, I suppose
[5:46] Speaker 1: when you're in Australia, a lot of these big sports,
[5:49] Speaker 1: like you don't see a lot of like they kind
[5:51] Speaker 1: of fall through to the key because it's just it's
[5:53] Speaker 1: mainly n RL or AFL, but I mean the world sports,
[5:56] Speaker 1: like what they get to do traveling wise and stuff.
[5:59] Speaker 1: Really it opened up a whole can of worms.
[6:01] Speaker 3: The cash four days work for ten million, Well.
[6:06] Speaker 2: It's not four days about the.
[6:07] Speaker 4: Prize money when like you don't even come first too,
[6:10] Speaker 4: there's like still incredible prize money for those who come
[6:12] Speaker 4: with tenth and twelve.
[6:13] Speaker 3: Yeah that's right, tenth and twelve because you make the cut.
[6:16] Speaker 3: It's a lot of money. But imagine the mental strain
[6:19] Speaker 3: that that's got to put on you knowing that it
[6:21] Speaker 3: part's worth about two hundred and fifty.
[6:23] Speaker 1: Talk about pressure. And I always say, like, no, I
[6:26] Speaker 1: can see why like NRL players and different sportsmen get
[6:29] Speaker 1: into golf because it's like it actually benefits your mental
[6:33] Speaker 1: game and your own sport, especially if you're like a goalkicker,
[6:35] Speaker 1: because you've got to be like every time you go
[6:37] Speaker 1: up to the ball, it's all in your stance, what
[6:39] Speaker 1: you're thinking about, Like you almost have to think about
[6:41] Speaker 1: the same thing every single shot, and depending on what
[6:44] Speaker 1: golf club you pick up, like you got to change
[6:45] Speaker 1: what you're thinking about.
[6:47] Speaker 2: Can I ask a question, I don't play golf, No
[6:49] Speaker 2: you can, No, you can.
[6:51] Speaker 6: Of tennis and golf, which do you think you have
[6:54] Speaker 6: the greater control over in regards to environmental factors?
[6:59] Speaker 4: I reckon, have you been to the tennis? The tennis
[7:02] Speaker 4: is like you're quiet when they go and like if
[7:04] Speaker 4: you allowed it all like out and obviously in the environment,
[7:08] Speaker 4: like it's different greens and stuff, and golf plays a
[7:11] Speaker 4: plays a and holes and courses makes it like a
[7:13] Speaker 4: big factor.
[7:14] Speaker 5: But if you go to the tennis, like it's it's
[7:16] Speaker 5: a weird vibe.
[7:16] Speaker 3: In environmental factors, I've never seen the game of tennis
[7:19] Speaker 3: where there's like a sand bunker or a crocodile or
[7:26] Speaker 3: anything like that. So I would say coopes, like golf
[7:29] Speaker 3: is the hardest sport in the world for that exact reason.
[7:33] Speaker 3: You never hit the same shot twice, a different line,
[7:36] Speaker 3: many different winds, you know, there's all sorts of.
[7:39] Speaker 1: And there's such a big you know they talk about
[7:41] Speaker 1: like like your best performance in your worst performance, like
[7:43] Speaker 1: you want to make that as consistent as possible. In golf,
[7:46] Speaker 1: sometimes it's just out of your control because you pick
[7:48] Speaker 1: up a club and you might have like a half
[7:50] Speaker 1: a niggle in your hand, or like you slept bad
[7:53] Speaker 1: on your arm and up fall and it changes exactly
[7:55] Speaker 1: how you swing, like subconsciously and everything.
[7:57] Speaker 2: What about that's horrible?
[7:58] Speaker 1: What about a random okay, just off the car? What
[8:00] Speaker 1: would be the best sport to be a wag in?
[8:03] Speaker 3: Oh?
[8:06] Speaker 5: I mean horse racing?
[8:09] Speaker 3: You get bored. There's only so many members pavilions.
[8:14] Speaker 4: You can go to the buffalo or but like a
[8:16] Speaker 4: lot of courses and a lot of good times.
[8:18] Speaker 3: Yeah of course, yeah, but the travel Where do you
[8:21] Speaker 3: go for horse racing? Gulden?
[8:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, now I'm going tennis again, Ranwick?
[8:26] Speaker 1: You know, you wag?
[8:28] Speaker 2: I'd like to be a tennis wag.
[8:29] Speaker 3: What's really good?
[8:31] Speaker 1: Like trending? Now F one Formula one because you're just
[8:35] Speaker 1: like your part is just driving. You can just go
[8:37] Speaker 1: and by shop and you're in Monaco and if.
[8:39] Speaker 3: You most places by boat yacht.
[8:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a rich man's sport, do.
[8:43] Speaker 2: You know what?
[8:44] Speaker 6: Though, I'm going to say no because it has greater danger.
[8:48] Speaker 6: And you know, if I am a wag, I apparently
[8:51] Speaker 6: do care about my partner and I wouldn't want him
[8:53] Speaker 6: send it or whatever else.
[8:55] Speaker 1: You just spoke about being autonomous for five minutes before.
[8:57] Speaker 6: No, I'm a wag now, yeah, yeah, but you what
[9:00] Speaker 6: do you reckon about a cricket boring too long?
[9:04] Speaker 1: Yeah? But this is my theory is you don't need
[9:07] Speaker 1: to go and watch the game. It's more like a
[9:08] Speaker 1: sport that just gets you overseas and you get on
[9:10] Speaker 1: the have apros with girlf it is and.
[9:12] Speaker 3: They're there for a long time as well, tru like they.
[9:14] Speaker 6: Go on into they're in long place, like the same
[9:17] Speaker 6: places for a long time.
[9:19] Speaker 2: I do, but I wouldn't want to be there for
[9:20] Speaker 2: three months.
[9:21] Speaker 4: Isn't it really like you only really go what you're
[9:23] Speaker 4: going to go India, England and Australia.
[9:26] Speaker 3: What about the Caribbellan? Oh yeah, that's yeah, that one
[9:30] Speaker 3: in there.
[9:30] Speaker 5: How long they go therefore, how often do they go
[9:32] Speaker 5: to the Caribbean?
[9:32] Speaker 3: Not often, not these days. Back in the day, though
[9:37] Speaker 3: they would go there for six month tours.
[9:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, well what we're talking eighties.
[9:46] Speaker 1: Don't go look at Gave already making an enemy out
[9:48] Speaker 1: of Jack early?
[9:50] Speaker 5: Will mind it be tennis as well? For different reasons.
[9:54] Speaker 4: I reckon tennis is one of those sports that it
[9:56] Speaker 4: doesn't take much effort to get the sponsors on board
[10:01] Speaker 4: because like, because they all have massive hissy fits and whatnot.
[10:04] Speaker 5: I feel like it'd be the.
[10:06] Speaker 4: Hardest, one of the hardest sports to be a lead at,
[10:08] Speaker 4: but if you're good at it, it's one of the
[10:09] Speaker 4: easiest sports to be like brand worthy because so many
[10:13] Speaker 4: have like you know, off brand moments that are going
[10:16] Speaker 4: to be it'd be.
[10:17] Speaker 2: Very and they're good brands too.
[10:19] Speaker 5: Good and New role X and all those.
[10:21] Speaker 4: Yeah, like look at Roger, Like Roger was elite, but
[10:23] Speaker 4: he was also like very seen as like, you know, a.
[10:26] Speaker 5: Great person statesman. Really yeah, it was like the many.
[10:29] Speaker 4: Pakia in a way of like of tennis, where he's
[10:32] Speaker 4: like you always had that humbleness to him.
[10:34] Speaker 5: I just feel like that would be.
[10:36] Speaker 1: About I went back to the talking about the question.
[10:40] Speaker 1: You never let me get to them.
[10:43] Speaker 5: So that's what happens when you producer.
[10:45] Speaker 3: That's all right, I keep going jack I was interested in.
[10:48] Speaker 5: Yeah, no, that was it really.
[10:52] Speaker 2: Cooper.
[10:52] Speaker 6: You didn't tell us what you as well?
[10:55] Speaker 1: I said one, oh, I said, and then I said.
[10:59] Speaker 3: F one, Can he take control of this? You went
[11:03] Speaker 3: golf with me? Golf?
[11:04] Speaker 1: She doesn't listen to Can I ask a question golf?
[11:08] Speaker 3: You also don't have to be super fit.
[11:11] Speaker 2: Up guy smoking.
[11:15] Speaker 1: Pump darts and literally like break hard.
[11:18] Speaker 3: They can as well on the on the PGA tour.
[11:20] Speaker 3: They can just smart ripped darts. Yeah. Yeah, so that's
[11:25] Speaker 3: probably the only sport I would say you can still
[11:28] Speaker 3: do that. N I rel You've never seen cliff lions,
[11:31] Speaker 3: but not on the field.
[11:33] Speaker 1: That's kind of hard.
[11:34] Speaker 4: Yeah, sideline is That's my favorite sporting quote. It's John
[11:39] Speaker 4: Daily said nicotine plus nicotine plus caffeine equals protein.
[11:43] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[11:44] Speaker 1: He's the great, He's the goat.
[11:46] Speaker 2: Could I ask one question, which sport do you think
[11:49] Speaker 2: would be the worst? I've got one. I think swimming
[11:52] Speaker 2: would be terrible.
[11:54] Speaker 6: It's that early morning, it's getting into a cold pool,
[11:57] Speaker 6: no matter every time of the day, and you're just following.
[12:00] Speaker 3: Marathon marathon run on suck because they say just to
[12:05] Speaker 3: run a marathon, you've got to run three hundred kilometers
[12:08] Speaker 3: a week anyway, or.
[12:10] Speaker 5: The chlorine button. Swimming would just do my head in
[12:12] Speaker 5: as well.
[12:13] Speaker 1: And they say swimming, they say, is like you have
[12:17] Speaker 1: to if you miss one day, it almost says it's
[12:20] Speaker 1: like four steps back, five steps, Like missing one day
[12:23] Speaker 1: is like a whole week in swimming, you need to.
[12:25] Speaker 3: Keep tells say that he used to in the pool,
[12:28] Speaker 3: in the pool and that was his edge. Yeah, because
[12:30] Speaker 3: other people would get out of the pool. Yeah, he
[12:33] Speaker 3: wouldn't and he would do extra lapse and that was
[12:36] Speaker 3: his edge.
[12:36] Speaker 2: He said, I totally the pool chlorine.
[12:40] Speaker 4: It just be so like you're chasing the one percentage
[12:42] Speaker 4: in a sport like that, you'd just be going so
[12:45] Speaker 4: fine in your detail like it'd be so you'd be
[12:47] Speaker 4: such an anal person.
[12:49] Speaker 3: Okay, anal speaking. Yeah, I would say, what about rowing
[12:55] Speaker 3: sucks to because you've still got to go. I'm talking
[12:59] Speaker 3: not just going the Jim Frish and doing a four
[13:01] Speaker 3: hundred meter quick sprint.
[13:03] Speaker 1: But rowing the rowing machine, even in the gym sucks.
[13:07] Speaker 3: Okay.
[13:07] Speaker 1: Well, now Dad's Dad's obviously in the US, like we said,
[13:09] Speaker 1: but he's gave he's sent through some messages for you.
[13:11] Speaker 1: I haven't listening to on that. They's sent through a
[13:13] Speaker 1: few audio messages sort.
[13:15] Speaker 3: Of to introduce from Washington.
[13:16] Speaker 1: From Washington, I know one of the great men, Maddie.
[13:20] Speaker 1: He always puts the podcast first. Let's have a little.
[13:22] Speaker 5: Listen to it.
[13:25] Speaker 7: You low blood, yo, Gavin, You you low bastard.
[13:31] Speaker 3: Mate.
[13:31] Speaker 8: You couldn't help yourself, could you?
[13:33] Speaker 7: Hey the moment, I'm out of the country just for
[13:36] Speaker 7: two minutes in Washington doing some excellent reporting and maye
[13:39] Speaker 7: you just dive in there. Hadley warned me about you,
[13:42] Speaker 7: said you're a hopeless pants man, so may just go
[13:46] Speaker 7: get Can you go and look up someone else's life?
[13:48] Speaker 7: But okay, and tell you what, Mate, hasn't gone un noticed,
[13:51] Speaker 7: and Cooper started to call your dad. Have you no shame?
[13:56] Speaker 7: Have you no shame?
[13:57] Speaker 2: Gavin, don't worry. They'd be a little bit truth in that.
[14:01] Speaker 3: I did say your hair looks beautiful as well.
[14:03] Speaker 2: But thank you.
[14:06] Speaker 1: He actually sent through two more as well. I don't
[14:09] Speaker 1: know if he was drunk or what, but gave.
[14:11] Speaker 8: It's me again.
[14:12] Speaker 7: I've just gone away and had a little bit of
[14:14] Speaker 7: think about what I just said.
[14:16] Speaker 8: I didn't mean any of it.
[14:17] Speaker 7: May I think you're an upstanding outstanding person. And I
[14:23] Speaker 7: know that you never muscle in on my squeeze, So mate,
[14:29] Speaker 7: you know that's I don't wait to get back into
[14:31] Speaker 7: the country and haven't being reconcile.
[14:34] Speaker 8: Love you, Gav.
[14:36] Speaker 1: Now, I don't know what the next one is, but
[14:38] Speaker 1: I imagine if he's gone from being angry to happy,
[14:41] Speaker 1: I reckon the next one is probably going to be
[14:43] Speaker 1: angry again. Yeah, or he was crying, Yeah, something that crying?
[14:48] Speaker 8: Mate? Wow, all bets are off, Gav.
[14:52] Speaker 7: I just got a I just got a video sent
[14:55] Speaker 7: through from my neighbor Marty.
[14:57] Speaker 8: So you're Moe in the backyard and your speed as bastard,
[15:01] Speaker 8: what are you trying to achieve? Mate? Let me just
[15:04] Speaker 8: ask you, what are you trying to achieve? Mate?
[15:07] Speaker 3: Hey?
[15:08] Speaker 8: Because mate, if.
[15:09] Speaker 7: You want to ruin the life whole hands of the
[15:11] Speaker 7: dag and just digging into my heart, hasn't been doing
[15:14] Speaker 7: it now?
[15:16] Speaker 5: Low bastard a little bit hungover?
[15:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that would be a surprise.
[15:22] Speaker 1: I don't know what because I texted him, I said,
[15:24] Speaker 1: can you send through a message you gather? And then
[15:25] Speaker 1: he just I woke up this morning because the time difference. Yeah,
[15:28] Speaker 1: and he had Mate, he sent tent ten throughout the
[15:31] Speaker 1: whole and then I had to. He just said, just
[15:33] Speaker 1: do this one, this one, this one. So shout out
[15:36] Speaker 1: to him. He's having a good time over there.
[15:39] Speaker 5: See what he said.
[15:40] Speaker 3: How is the edging looking?
[15:42] Speaker 2: By the way, the edging's good?
[15:43] Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you? Overboard.
[15:47] Speaker 2: No, we love them. We love them. The ladies love them.
[15:49] Speaker 3: Who own business?
[15:52] Speaker 1: All right, party Marty?
[15:54] Speaker 3: What I need to do? He's he's there.
[15:56] Speaker 1: He's like Dad's best friend.
[15:57] Speaker 3: Oh is he yeah? Is he big?
[15:58] Speaker 5: He's tight?
[16:00] Speaker 8: Is he?
[16:01] Speaker 5: Yeah?
[16:01] Speaker 1: He Actually, don't say too much bad about that? Okay, Hey,
[16:06] Speaker 1: can we also asks we're just talking. A very famous
[16:10] Speaker 1: moment in the John's Family podcast that we often bring
[16:12] Speaker 1: up is the day that Dad got really drunk. Nearly
[16:17] Speaker 1: the whole podcast got derailed. We actually had to film.
[16:19] Speaker 1: We got right to the end of the first one,
[16:21] Speaker 1: realized we couldn't film any of it. Then Jack left
[16:24] Speaker 1: and had a fight with Dad, and then we had
[16:26] Speaker 1: to reshoot a whole nother one. But you were the
[16:28] Speaker 1: producer on that day.
[16:29] Speaker 3: I was, yes, yes, super Bowl Day. Yeah, it was
[16:32] Speaker 3: a war. It was a war that day. There was
[16:35] Speaker 3: a few things that weren't going well. We had to
[16:37] Speaker 3: put the podcast record back if you would know. I
[16:41] Speaker 3: think you guys had training and Maddie was coming home
[16:44] Speaker 3: from a charity event. I think he was at super Bowl.
[16:48] Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure on the super Bowl.
[16:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, but he was sorry. He was there hosting. So
[16:52] Speaker 3: he was there hosting. And I would always let Maddy
[16:55] Speaker 3: have a couple of if I if I thought the
[16:58] Speaker 3: family needed it, because sometimes I would turn up and
[17:00] Speaker 3: no one's talking to each other. Tres should be blowing up.
[17:03] Speaker 3: I'd have to take sides, usually a Trisha's side, and
[17:05] Speaker 3: then try and just try and get everyone into the
[17:08] Speaker 3: room for a podcast to try and get it done. Yes. Yeah,
[17:12] Speaker 3: So I would say to Maddie, maybe I think you
[17:15] Speaker 3: need a beer mate, So I wouldn't mind if there
[17:17] Speaker 3: was a beer or a shand he had, or a
[17:19] Speaker 3: little red wine or something. So I got the call
[17:21] Speaker 3: from Maddie saying, I'm hosting a thing. I'll be back later.
[17:25] Speaker 3: We might have to push it back a bit. I'm
[17:26] Speaker 3: just letting you know that I'm having a few drinks.
[17:28] Speaker 3: And I said, yeah, no worries Mattie, as long as
[17:30] Speaker 3: you're not dry. So he gets home, so I just
[17:32] Speaker 3: assumed that he would have had about two or three
[17:35] Speaker 3: beers or something because I'm crazy. I'm thinking he's hosting anyway,
[17:41] Speaker 3: just the stumble in the front door and I'm just look.
[17:44] Speaker 3: And what you guys don't realize is and what the
[17:46] Speaker 3: story hasn't been told is it was an hour before
[17:49] Speaker 3: we actually started to record, and I had to go
[17:51] Speaker 3: through a lot of live reads with your dad that day.
[17:54] Speaker 3: So we add ones for betting agencies where we would
[17:57] Speaker 3: have to be giving tips about horses. Guys were having
[18:00] Speaker 3: your comp that was going on there that we will
[18:03] Speaker 3: give money to charity and everything. So you know, five
[18:06] Speaker 3: of those live reads would usually take Maddie what two
[18:09] Speaker 3: and a half three minutes to do it professional, very good,
[18:12] Speaker 3: he's been doing it all his life. Well, we were
[18:15] Speaker 3: sitting there for about twenty five minutes. He hadn't got
[18:18] Speaker 3: through one or two of them. At one stage we
[18:21] Speaker 3: were doing the I think it was the Golden Slipper
[18:24] Speaker 3: or something was on, like some massive race, so the
[18:27] Speaker 3: betting agency would tell us what horses they wanted to,
[18:31] Speaker 3: you know, promote all this sort of stuff. So I
[18:34] Speaker 3: knew we're in trouble. Cooper, when I asked for the
[18:36] Speaker 3: same race Maldi and he ended up giving me the
[18:38] Speaker 3: same game Malta with James Tedesco and Brian two Tristoreres
[18:44] Speaker 3: and the rest of it. And I am just like
[18:46] Speaker 3: you understand what we're there and then you know when
[18:48] Speaker 3: he's like yeah, like no dramas, like yeah, we'll do
[18:52] Speaker 3: it again. Same thing happened to the point where I
[18:54] Speaker 3: am like, right, let's go line for line now. Okay,
[18:58] Speaker 3: so we're talking. Yeah, so nothing to do about rugby league, Yeah, yeah,
[19:03] Speaker 3: nothing to yeah, I know, it's all yeah, so all
[19:07] Speaker 3: I want you to say this horse this and I'll
[19:10] Speaker 3: cut it later, but no dramas, I'll cut it later.
[19:12] Speaker 3: So anyway, twenty five thirty minutes. It took us to
[19:15] Speaker 3: do about four or five live reads. Yeah, the pot
[19:18] Speaker 3: then we get then we get to where and I
[19:21] Speaker 3: was like, it's either going to be he's going to
[19:24] Speaker 3: sober up a little bit and he's going to hit
[19:25] Speaker 3: that really good mark you know when you're like stories
[19:28] Speaker 3: are coming out, laughing, everyone's happy. It sort of didn't
[19:33] Speaker 3: go that way.
[19:34] Speaker 5: It was assuming Yeah it was Cooper here, you were living.
[19:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, no, he was here. Yeah, yeah, Couber witnessed it.
[19:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, And I always used to like zoom in like
[19:41] Speaker 4: five minutes or maybe just before we start, literally go
[19:44] Speaker 4: straight into it, and jeez, I had a rude shock.
[19:47] Speaker 3: Oh my god. So I reckon, we got and I
[19:50] Speaker 3: don't really panic because we can do a lot of
[19:52] Speaker 3: stuff post editing, So even if we do something, I'll
[19:55] Speaker 3: just keep it rolling and say, I'll be able to
[19:57] Speaker 3: make a cut here and we can do this.
[19:59] Speaker 1: Because remember when like we got forty five minutes, I reckon.
[20:02] Speaker 3: We've got about fifty minutes in and then Jack blew up.
[20:05] Speaker 1: Just dad said something.
[20:07] Speaker 3: Like Chris Dad plately inappropriate.
[20:10] Speaker 1: He was saying such inappropriate stuff that just wasn't landing. No,
[20:14] Speaker 1: but no, usually he'd say something on edge and everyone
[20:16] Speaker 1: kind of giggle and the listeners you go, oh, you know,
[20:18] Speaker 1: that's pretty clever. It wasn't even funny to the point
[20:20] Speaker 1: of like just disgusting things.
[20:22] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[20:22] Speaker 3: Well he was giving punchlines to wrong jokes. Yeah, so
[20:25] Speaker 3: it was That's when I was like, hang on, this
[20:27] Speaker 3: can't like I can't even be cutting this. So yeah, yeah,
[20:31] Speaker 3: Jack got the shits massively because it was going downhill
[20:34] Speaker 3: really quickly. And as you said, your dad thought it
[20:36] Speaker 3: was the greatest show.
[20:39] Speaker 4: He thought he thought it was so good when I
[20:41] Speaker 4: when I went, we have to stop, like, we can't
[20:43] Speaker 4: do this podcast, and then everyone turned on me, and
[20:47] Speaker 4: then I said, hang on, I want to ask Gav. Yeah,
[20:50] Speaker 4: and then I said, Gav be honest with us one
[20:53] Speaker 4: has this been a bad podcast? And Gav goes, look,
[20:57] Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie. It's gonna be tough editor.
[20:59] Speaker 6: Yeah, it's gonna to be a top I could probably
[21:01] Speaker 6: use about ten minutes ago.
[21:03] Speaker 3: Then the question got asked how long I've been been going,
[21:05] Speaker 3: and I said about fifty minutes, and then Maddie goes,
[21:09] Speaker 3: how much of it do you think we can use?
[21:11] Speaker 3: And that's when I responded, I don't think we can
[21:14] Speaker 3: use any of the podcasts. So that he like, Jack's
[21:18] Speaker 3: just like coming down the line, told you it's shit house.
[21:22] Speaker 3: It's all this sort of stuff, and he goes, so
[21:24] Speaker 3: what what do we do? And I said we've got
[21:26] Speaker 3: to start again, and then left Jack left. He said
[21:30] Speaker 3: there's no way I'm doing it. I'm not doing it.
[21:32] Speaker 3: And then I said that take a break, Maddie. You're
[21:37] Speaker 3: probably just going to have to react on the next show.
[21:40] Speaker 3: And then remember and I said, there's a silver lining
[21:42] Speaker 3: to everything because then Cooper, remember he had to take
[21:46] Speaker 3: charge a little bit and post the show for the
[21:47] Speaker 3: first time, and that was the first one, and that
[21:50] Speaker 3: and that sort of sort of snowballed into Cooper's quiz
[21:54] Speaker 3: and all the rest of this sort of stuff.
[21:56] Speaker 2: You and I know, and now you two working together.
[22:02] Speaker 1: Now we work together obviously like Call Team on Sundays
[22:05] Speaker 1: on two GBS.
[22:06] Speaker 3: We do. Don't forget to look out for the podcast
[22:08] Speaker 3: as well. Just search continuous Call Team wherever you get
[22:10] Speaker 3: or watch or listen to your podcast. Thanks for that, Trish,
[22:14] Speaker 3: It's good that.
[22:17] Speaker 1: Happy to do your own live reads. No worries, mate,
[22:19] Speaker 1: got your own sponsors and ship. I don't worry about that.
[22:23] Speaker 5: Can I ask you that?
[22:24] Speaker 2: Now?
[22:24] Speaker 4: I don't cube it if it doesn't want to intro it,
[22:26] Speaker 4: But can I ask about you two working together?
[22:27] Speaker 5: How's it actually been this year?
[22:29] Speaker 3: It's been fantastic. Yeap, yep. So I would say I
[22:33] Speaker 3: was a big part of getting Coops over because I
[22:35] Speaker 3: did work with and you guys for five years, so
[22:38] Speaker 3: I sort of knew what he was about. And when
[22:42] Speaker 3: he left, Kyle and Jackie, oh that's when we were
[22:44] Speaker 3: like okay, So we had an opening there. And it's
[22:48] Speaker 3: always hard as well, because you know, with footy players
[22:51] Speaker 3: things like that, a lot of people don't like taking
[22:53] Speaker 3: the piss out of themselves at all, so and it's
[22:56] Speaker 3: a hard one because you don't like taking the piss
[22:58] Speaker 3: out yourself. You're a serious football player, everything like that.
[23:01] Speaker 3: But the balance of Cook with his knowledge and and
[23:04] Speaker 3: funny easy, you know, it doesn't take himself too seriously.
[23:07] Speaker 3: I thought this is going to be a perfect, perfect match,
[23:10] Speaker 3: beautiful and he's slotted in unreal. It's it's pretty hard
[23:15] Speaker 3: to say. It's a job, isn't it.
[23:16] Speaker 1: It's very good, it's good, it's a fun it's a
[23:18] Speaker 1: fun crew. And like the big Man.
[23:20] Speaker 2: Who's just like he's a beautiful man.
[23:22] Speaker 1: But apart from being a beautiful mam, he's also just
[23:26] Speaker 1: he's been doing this a long time. Like Dad talks
[23:28] Speaker 1: about I've been doing the ship for thirty years, he's
[23:30] Speaker 1: been on it for forty five figures.
[23:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, you're talking about real pros there and just his
[23:35] Speaker 3: comedic like you talk about some of the greats of radio,
[23:38] Speaker 3: the funniest guys, whether he was on the Footy Show,
[23:41] Speaker 3: whether he's on radio. Darryl Brahman's up there with like
[23:44] Speaker 3: the Fatty Vaughtons for his comedic timing.
[23:49] Speaker 2: He's so quick with beautiful but even like nature, he's.
[23:53] Speaker 1: Quick with and even to do it through like chemo,
[23:55] Speaker 1: with therapy and stuff like, he's quick. Man, he's quick.
[23:58] Speaker 3: You saw him probably at his worst. He's he struggled
[24:00] Speaker 3: a few weeks there, tired, you can imagine that. Plus
[24:04] Speaker 3: they've also got to call the footy game. That's that's
[24:06] Speaker 3: quite physical in itself. You've got to keep your mind
[24:08] Speaker 3: on it. You would never know, absolutely never know. And
[24:12] Speaker 3: that's when, like you know, you would come home from
[24:14] Speaker 3: a late night or someone was feeling a little bit crooked,
[24:17] Speaker 3: you just look across the box and there's big man.
[24:19] Speaker 5: Ye he's still.
[24:21] Speaker 1: I'm sitting there going you know, in hindsight now, like
[24:24] Speaker 1: I walked in the first four weeks, I think I
[24:26] Speaker 1: was hung over every single week, every week because you
[24:28] Speaker 1: put like I'm on a Sunday right and I'm twenty
[24:29] Speaker 1: six years of age, So like they knew what they'll
[24:31] Speaker 1: get themselves into.
[24:32] Speaker 5: And then and then.
[24:33] Speaker 1: Daryl's going through chemotherapy fighting cancer and I'd walk in
[24:38] Speaker 1: and they go, how are you feeling Coops after Daryl's not
[24:40] Speaker 1: winging or anything, and I go, oh, boys, you're gonna
[24:43] Speaker 1: have to lift it. You're gonna have to look after me.
[24:46] Speaker 1: I'm a little bit tired under Yeah it, don't worry
[24:49] Speaker 1: about it, Coops.
[24:50] Speaker 3: We got your mate. Yeah, but yeah, the big Man,
[24:53] Speaker 3: all of them, they're all they all made you feel
[24:55] Speaker 3: very welcome, and I'm glad they have. But we have
[24:57] Speaker 3: a lot of fun out there. But it is still working,
[25:00] Speaker 3: isn't it. You still got to prepare, You've still got
[25:01] Speaker 3: to do it all. And no, but what a better
[25:03] Speaker 3: way to spend a Sunday than out there with coups
[25:05] Speaker 3: and the boys at the at the grounds.
[25:07] Speaker 2: But what game you're doing this weekend?
[25:09] Speaker 3: Not on together this week No, you're on Saturday. But
[25:12] Speaker 3: we're doing Tigers Titans.
[25:14] Speaker 2: Oh I was wondering that. I'm thinking about going out
[25:16] Speaker 2: to the game.
[25:16] Speaker 3: It's death steering.
[25:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, you just look at my I noticed you put
[25:20] Speaker 2: on your Titan mate. What are you trying to say
[25:23] Speaker 2: to dominate?
[25:25] Speaker 1: You can anyone's got some stuff from their week before
[25:36] Speaker 1: we move through that, because I do want to throw
[25:38] Speaker 1: to Jack for he's got an amazing story. But Trish,
[25:40] Speaker 1: have you got one.
[25:41] Speaker 6: Oh, I'm just saying, like, you know, Matt walked out
[25:46] Speaker 6: the door at eight am on Sunday, and my god,
[25:49] Speaker 6: it's been lovely.
[25:50] Speaker 2: I enjoyed really so nice.
[25:52] Speaker 3: How long your way for? True?
[25:54] Speaker 2: That nine days?
[25:55] Speaker 3: Okay? Yeah?
[25:56] Speaker 2: But then you know, once he landed, it started. They've
[26:00] Speaker 2: lost my bag. They've left it in Dullas, So that's okay,
[26:02] Speaker 2: it'll t. I don't know what to do. What am
[26:05] Speaker 2: I gonna wear? What did it? Go out and get
[26:07] Speaker 2: some things? Well, I don't know where, you know, there's
[26:10] Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, for God's sake, I'm not there. You're
[26:13] Speaker 2: not my problem. Don't talk to Bend.
[26:15] Speaker 1: They so did he did he have an air tag
[26:17] Speaker 1: in his luggage It wouldn't matter, and they edited up
[26:22] Speaker 1: getting it to him.
[26:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, next day.
[26:24] Speaker 3: Do you know who? I hate that though, when you
[26:26] Speaker 3: lose your luggage.
[26:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they get a t in the end,
[26:30] Speaker 1: but for that two days, like, it's just stress you
[26:32] Speaker 1: don't need. And and you know what else pisses me
[26:35] Speaker 1: off When you look out the window and they're throwing
[26:37] Speaker 1: your luggage in the in the bottom of it, it's
[26:41] Speaker 1: like they do it so aggressive on purpose. So it's
[26:44] Speaker 1: just disrespect and get it's probably a hard job out there.
[26:46] Speaker 1: You got those you got the big headphones on because
[26:48] Speaker 1: it's noisy with the propellers. But they're just they're dumping
[26:51] Speaker 1: your luggage. Yeah, they're aggressive, and especially if it's a
[26:55] Speaker 1: nice piece of luggage. I've got a beautiful new suitcase
[26:58] Speaker 1: set from July and they just around. It comes back
[27:00] Speaker 1: with scratches.
[27:01] Speaker 2: And shit all over the minute.
[27:03] Speaker 6: Well, remember I used to put the condom over my
[27:05] Speaker 6: bag because I stupidly bought a white, beautiful bag. It
[27:08] Speaker 6: wasn't a real My girlfriends used to laugh and say, oh,
[27:12] Speaker 6: you're putting the condom on it. Yeah, I know, I said,
[27:15] Speaker 6: what was I thinking buying a white suitcase?
[27:17] Speaker 3: You know? Yeah?
[27:17] Speaker 4: I know.
[27:18] Speaker 1: White was silly, white undies.
[27:20] Speaker 2: Red interior. It was really beautiful.
[27:22] Speaker 3: You know.
[27:23] Speaker 1: Who lost something? So friend of the potty, Harry Grant,
[27:26] Speaker 1: he had an e bike during the week and in
[27:29] Speaker 1: typical e bike fashion, didn't he didn't lock it up.
[27:31] Speaker 1: Someone's come into our old houses front yard stolen it,
[27:34] Speaker 1: stole his e bike. But he had an air tag
[27:36] Speaker 1: on it. And he's gone. And it was that like
[27:40] Speaker 1: a pretty pretty heavy neighborhood and he's walked in isolated,
[27:43] Speaker 1: trying to find his e bike but it's gone missing.
[27:46] Speaker 1: Like he had the location, but it was in like
[27:48] Speaker 1: let's say complex. It was like a bit it looked
[27:50] Speaker 1: like sort of a unit. And he was like, I
[27:52] Speaker 1: can't just walk in there, give me back my e bike.
[27:56] Speaker 3: That's exactly what you can do.
[27:58] Speaker 6: Did that with his epods back up or actually Pete,
[28:01] Speaker 6: Pete did there.
[28:02] Speaker 1: But there wasn't housing commission.
[28:04] Speaker 2: No I know, but still water.
[28:07] Speaker 1: It's just some bloke in an apartment building. Well he went.
[28:10] Speaker 1: Pete went and knocked on his door, knocked on his door.
[28:13] Speaker 1: No one answered. But then it was six am because
[28:15] Speaker 1: we're doing breakfast radio and it was like Kyle thought.
[28:17] Speaker 3: This would be this would be great contact contract and
[28:21] Speaker 3: we'll get if someone stolen your i'd lost, I'd like
[28:24] Speaker 3: a night out.
[28:25] Speaker 1: But then I had them tracked and somebody's obviously picked
[28:27] Speaker 1: them up and they had him at the house. And
[28:28] Speaker 1: then Kyle said, Pete, go drive fifty minutes and like
[28:32] Speaker 1: then his ample and it's like so he left at
[28:35] Speaker 1: five am from the radio shitt He's like, yeah, sweet,
[28:37] Speaker 1: I'll go six thirty am. He gets there, he's knocking
[28:41] Speaker 1: like and you can just hear babies cry, like he's
[28:42] Speaker 1: woken up the whole apart.
[28:44] Speaker 6: But the thing is, yeah, because it was in an
[28:46] Speaker 6: apartment block, you don't know which apartment it is, but
[28:48] Speaker 6: isn't that precise?
[28:49] Speaker 1: So he was just knocking on everyone, and then some
[28:51] Speaker 1: South African Kyle comes out and you can hear him
[28:54] Speaker 1: like he's got the phone on. He's like, hey mate,
[28:55] Speaker 1: I'm just looking for Coop John's air pods. And the
[28:57] Speaker 1: guy got if you don't get out of you, like,
[28:58] Speaker 1: I'm going to beat the shit out of here, and
[29:00] Speaker 1: Pete's like, yeah, lesson learned, Yeah, lessons.
[29:03] Speaker 5: Learned, Jack and Pete did learn from no way.
[29:08] Speaker 6: There was a good story to the end. Then did
[29:10] Speaker 6: you put up a sign or something?
[29:12] Speaker 3: Guy?
[29:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, some guy put up a sign saying lost air pods,
[29:16] Speaker 1: called this if you've lost them, So he advertised to
[29:19] Speaker 1: give the air pods back. Fair play to him. So
[29:21] Speaker 1: Dad rang the number. Yeah, some narrabeen surfar who came
[29:26] Speaker 1: over dropped around, lovely bloke.
[29:27] Speaker 3: It was also quite a so no malice. He was
[29:30] Speaker 3: literally looking for you.
[29:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, he was looking for you. And then apparently Dad
[29:34] Speaker 1: said he came out of dropping in the house and
[29:35] Speaker 1: then he stayed apparently for a while.
[29:37] Speaker 2: He was out the front check with.
[29:39] Speaker 1: Your dad, Yeah, Maddy john the guy Naddy Johnson. Then
[29:42] Speaker 1: he was talked to us about.
[29:43] Speaker 2: A Saturday night. We were having a bit of a
[29:44] Speaker 2: party I think, and.
[29:46] Speaker 6: Music was going and he he was coming back from
[29:50] Speaker 6: We might have he might have worked on the waves
[29:52] Speaker 6: or something.
[29:53] Speaker 2: He was coming back from work. It was like ten
[29:54] Speaker 2: ten thirty at night.
[29:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, pretty exciting.
[29:57] Speaker 3: That's another thing about your dad as well. When I
[30:00] Speaker 3: turned up here, didn't know what to expect, but obviously
[30:03] Speaker 3: a lot of my mates and that they've watched, they said,
[30:06] Speaker 3: they're like, oh, make sure you've got your footage chat
[30:08] Speaker 3: all going, you know, do your research, do your research, Yeah,
[30:12] Speaker 3: come with the stats and everything like that. So I
[30:14] Speaker 3: had like, you've done.
[30:15] Speaker 2: Oh God, love you.
[30:16] Speaker 3: So we get down here, Maddie answers the door. We
[30:19] Speaker 3: literally go just out the front of the podcast studio
[30:22] Speaker 3: here to his bookshelf. Oh and we stood there for
[30:25] Speaker 3: what thirty forty minutes of him just going through every
[30:28] Speaker 3: single Ganghis Khan book telling me. So the boys are like, oh,
[30:33] Speaker 3: how was it, Like, what does he think about the roosters?
[30:35] Speaker 3: And everything got no fucking idea. But I do know
[30:38] Speaker 3: about the invasion of Mongolia back in the you know,
[30:42] Speaker 3: the twelfth century or whatever, and that his name isn't
[30:44] Speaker 3: really Ganghis Kart, it's Youngestus.
[30:48] Speaker 1: It's his favorite. And because you know how there's the
[30:51] Speaker 1: pokey machine, Genghis cut like, yeah, yeah, so I remember
[30:54] Speaker 1: if dad's in the Slappers and there's he'll go to
[30:58] Speaker 1: Jengis car and then young guys will come up and
[31:01] Speaker 1: be like, oh, you're playing Gengis and you'll go youngers,
[31:04] Speaker 1: and he almost it's almost a tactic. He'll bore these
[31:07] Speaker 1: young people to death while he's playing the Slappers and go,
[31:09] Speaker 1: you know because back in thinks you know, jengers can't
[31:12] Speaker 1: but it's common misconception and tell them about the history
[31:14] Speaker 1: of jazz.
[31:16] Speaker 3: I loved it though, because it was something different, you.
[31:18] Speaker 2: Know what I mean, Like, I know, he's different, alright, different.
[31:22] Speaker 5: Every magic ground.
[31:23] Speaker 4: He seems to find an audience on like one of
[31:25] Speaker 4: our days off or one of the afternoons he has off,
[31:27] Speaker 4: and then you just see a video go online and
[31:29] Speaker 4: he's pretty much doing the same thing and talking shape
[31:32] Speaker 4: with just a bunch of heads.
[31:33] Speaker 6: Yeah Shape, I love it when he starts talking shaping
[31:36] Speaker 6: numbers to me and I just look at him as
[31:38] Speaker 6: much to say, what, look at me, Look who you're
[31:40] Speaker 6: speaking to.
[31:41] Speaker 2: You know, I'm not even.
[31:41] Speaker 1: Read Jack, Because now, Jake, you've done some coaching in
[31:45] Speaker 1: your time, obviously with the schep all this year with
[31:47] Speaker 1: myself like a Cocher and Brad Park very successful preliminary final.
[31:51] Speaker 1: But did we go bet by forty in it? Yes
[31:53] Speaker 1: we did. But obviously everyone's talking about fozball at the moment.
[31:57] Speaker 1: Qan Forum one of the great up and coming coaches,
[32:00] Speaker 1: and Jack was lucky enough to be coached by one
[32:01] Speaker 1: of the grades of all time in Wayne Bennett. But
[32:04] Speaker 1: you found yourself in the weekend. But I don't want
[32:07] Speaker 1: you to talk about what they were speaking about is specifically,
[32:10] Speaker 1: but you were those two were watching the junior footy
[32:13] Speaker 1: at Brookie Oval, and Jack was called over and just
[32:15] Speaker 1: sat between them when they were talking footy the whole time.
[32:17] Speaker 4: Really, yeah, Wayne, Yeah, I went down there to watch
[32:20] Speaker 4: a few of our boys went up and they're playing
[32:22] Speaker 4: high grades now, so they're playing Jersey fleag and one
[32:25] Speaker 4: of them played his first game of reserve grade and
[32:27] Speaker 4: I went down to watch the couple of games, and
[32:29] Speaker 4: then for the reserve grade game, I was sitting there
[32:31] Speaker 4: talking Awayne and Fos came over and then we end
[32:33] Speaker 4: up just sitting there for the whole game together, just
[32:35] Speaker 4: talking footy and then.
[32:37] Speaker 5: Which is pretty cool. I want to talk specific to you.
[32:39] Speaker 4: One thing that will surprise me though, that surprised me
[32:42] Speaker 4: me a lot, is now that we're finished up, how
[32:44] Speaker 4: many people coaches included and Wayne might be one of them,
[32:49] Speaker 4: listen to the podcast or have listened to the podcast
[32:51] Speaker 4: over the years.
[32:52] Speaker 3: Really, it's one of those things.
[32:54] Speaker 4: I was thinking the other day, like when I was playing,
[32:57] Speaker 4: it's funny like we did it for five years while
[32:59] Speaker 4: we're playing for four years, and players that I play with,
[33:03] Speaker 4: all coaches never really ever mentioned the podcast, never spoke
[33:06] Speaker 4: about it, like during my time playing footy, like we
[33:08] Speaker 4: just never it was just a different like I don't know,
[33:10] Speaker 4: it was just something I ever really spoke about. And
[33:12] Speaker 4: then since retiring, I didn't realize coaches I had coached
[33:15] Speaker 4: me and players I played with were actually listening to
[33:17] Speaker 4: the podcast.
[33:18] Speaker 5: Wayne. Did Wayne say that he might have mentioned these
[33:20] Speaker 5: listens in the past.
[33:21] Speaker 3: Really, it's JACKO, Why can't you get into specifics and
[33:25] Speaker 3: what you were talking about.
[33:26] Speaker 4: Although, to be honest, they were just talking about Like
[33:28] Speaker 4: it was pretty cool because it was like obviously they
[33:29] Speaker 4: played each other on the Thursday night and then they
[33:31] Speaker 4: were just talking about coaching and just different things around.
[33:34] Speaker 4: Obviously was at the start and way like you know,
[33:38] Speaker 4: how many games seven hundred games into his career for
[33:40] Speaker 4: all hour coach another ten years the way he's going.
[33:42] Speaker 4: But yeah, it was cool just listening to them talk
[33:45] Speaker 4: about footy and just the way that the nerl is
[33:48] Speaker 4: today and foes.
[33:49] Speaker 1: Was like, I imagine it's very much the master and apprentice stuff.
[33:52] Speaker 1: Like was was just asking questions about like you know,
[33:56] Speaker 1: and Wayne's like open to helping him out.
[33:58] Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think there's obviously like you could
[34:00] Speaker 4: just tell there was a mutual respect there and like
[34:02] Speaker 4: Wayne was offering advice and was at asked question.
[34:04] Speaker 5: It was very cool. It was obviously.
[34:06] Speaker 1: Very like it was pretty sick you're in that that chat,
[34:09] Speaker 1: pretty bucketly stuff.
[34:10] Speaker 5: It was pretty hacky. I didn't realize till afterward.
[34:12] Speaker 4: I sort of sat there on the way home after
[34:13] Speaker 4: the game and then I rang you and said, this
[34:16] Speaker 4: just happened.
[34:16] Speaker 5: Then you were like that's pretty awesome.
[34:18] Speaker 1: I was frothen because when Jack rings me, I'm like, oh,
[34:20] Speaker 1: should I pick it up? Should I know? It's just
[34:21] Speaker 1: like you know what I mean? And then because like
[34:23] Speaker 1: did your brother you know what I mean? Like, oh
[34:24] Speaker 1: damn it, like it's sorry guys, like I got to
[34:26] Speaker 1: like because I got a heap of girls around me
[34:27] Speaker 1: at the bar, sorry goes, I just gotta go pick up.
[34:30] Speaker 1: And then he was like, the weirdest things happened to me, man,
[34:32] Speaker 1: I was like what I said. I I was sitting
[34:34] Speaker 1: there just like feeling like a I suppose the form
[34:38] Speaker 1: between two rows.
[34:38] Speaker 3: And Frankfurt in between a hot dog.
[34:40] Speaker 1: That's was And He's like they're just spinning footy like
[34:44] Speaker 1: they were just talking footy. And I was like, make
[34:46] Speaker 1: sure you get home. You write all that ship everything
[34:48] Speaker 1: they said word for word because I want to read that.
[34:51] Speaker 4: It's funny too, like when you say that, because when
[34:53] Speaker 4: you say writing down like through Like when I was
[34:55] Speaker 4: a player and we obviously a probably wold. I've spoken
[34:58] Speaker 4: about it during our podcast times back in the day gap,
[35:00] Speaker 4: but when I was playing having different coaches, Dad sort
[35:03] Speaker 4: of always said to me it was really surreal being
[35:05] Speaker 4: coached by a guy like Wayne. Because when I was
[35:07] Speaker 4: eight years before i'd met Wayne and getting coached by him,
[35:10] Speaker 4: I actually did a school project on him on his book. Yeah,
[35:13] Speaker 4: I did his book that was written by Steve Crawley.
[35:17] Speaker 4: I did a project when I was a year seven
[35:18] Speaker 4: of school on him. I had to do like a
[35:19] Speaker 4: PowerPoint and all that sort of stuff. So then eight
[35:21] Speaker 4: years later I sort of understood the gravity of like
[35:24] Speaker 4: getting coached by someone like that. And then Steves when
[35:27] Speaker 4: I had seas before they did the swopover in twenty
[35:29] Speaker 4: eighteen at South Sydney gave us all these books to write,
[35:32] Speaker 4: and essentially when Wayne took it, he wasn't He's priority
[35:34] Speaker 4: wasn't writing stuff down. But I always kept my book
[35:37] Speaker 4: and wrote stuff, and same thing when I went to
[35:39] Speaker 4: Newcastle under Adam O'Brien and other coaches, I always wrote
[35:43] Speaker 4: down things with coaching and it was like one of
[35:46] Speaker 4: those funny things that like I was thinking that like
[35:48] Speaker 4: a lot of the stuff that I'd written down previously
[35:51] Speaker 4: that they were talking about and stuff like that around
[35:53] Speaker 4: everything from player management to like you know, just the
[35:56] Speaker 4: way it is set up today. You know, you got
[35:58] Speaker 4: there's so many things that people don't realize coaches from
[36:00] Speaker 4: you know, player managers to young man to all these
[36:04] Speaker 4: sorts of things, like it's very interesting, funny.
[36:06] Speaker 1: It's funny you say that because when when you rang me,
[36:09] Speaker 1: I was I was staying at Nico Hines as before
[36:11] Speaker 1: we were doing the next day and we were in
[36:13] Speaker 1: the sauna when you rang and I said it to Nicko.
[36:15] Speaker 1: I said, oh, how six this Jackason? And I told
[36:18] Speaker 1: him one of the things that you said to me
[36:20] Speaker 1: that like Wayne spoke to Fuzz about And Nico has
[36:23] Speaker 1: a book and it's a coaching book that like he
[36:26] Speaker 1: must have got because he got like potentially once going
[36:28] Speaker 1: to coaching post footy and he like when and was
[36:31] Speaker 1: like writing like anything. I was like, oh, he was like,
[36:33] Speaker 1: oh say that again, like and he was writing into
[36:35] Speaker 1: his coaching book again. Yeah, so anything like fits he says,
[36:38] Speaker 1: or you know, back in the day when he had
[36:40] Speaker 1: Craig Bellamy, like he just write down little things. I
[36:42] Speaker 1: imagine it's the same as you in terms of, like
[36:44] Speaker 1: you know, team tactics or in terms of how to
[36:47] Speaker 1: manage a football size.
[36:48] Speaker 4: So it's always cool because when we got to I
[36:50] Speaker 4: with you guys this year, I also coached last year
[36:52] Speaker 4: under an older coach and just like ninety like let's
[36:57] Speaker 4: be honest, like cool, like as an assistant, your job
[36:59] Speaker 4: to be like real tactical, but when you're very much
[37:02] Speaker 4: like a managerial role in the BPL you talk about
[37:05] Speaker 4: people that call them coaches, they're called managers in the NRL, like,
[37:09] Speaker 4: and that's getting more and more prevalent every year.
[37:11] Speaker 5: The head coach, you're a manager. Yeah, man managing you're less.
[37:14] Speaker 5: You're less of a coach. You're a man manager.
[37:16] Speaker 4: You manage the media, you manage staff, you manage your assistances,
[37:19] Speaker 4: you manage players, and like the first job is to
[37:21] Speaker 4: get their heads right across the board, and that role
[37:25] Speaker 4: is just so much more important than the tactical side
[37:27] Speaker 4: of it. Like I think that's something that you know,
[37:29] Speaker 4: a guy like Follows this year and other coaches like
[37:33] Speaker 4: I'd probably look at it Andrew.
[37:34] Speaker 5: Webster as well, but he's very good tactically, but.
[37:36] Speaker 4: Getting how important the man management side is in terms
[37:39] Speaker 4: of being successful.
[37:40] Speaker 1: Well, that's what Fos has done.
[37:41] Speaker 3: Really.
[37:41] Speaker 1: He hasn't come in and changed the it's all he's done.
[37:43] Speaker 1: He's a reinvent of the wheel. He's just gotten motivated
[37:46] Speaker 1: and got them up right.
[37:47] Speaker 3: Exactly, We've got a motivator. Can I just tell a
[37:50] Speaker 3: quick So back in the day when I was working
[37:54] Speaker 3: with Ray, Chippy, fri Lingos, Blocker, you know all these
[37:59] Speaker 3: guys here, there was no computers, so you wouldn't know
[38:03] Speaker 3: what team changes were everything. They used to come out
[38:06] Speaker 3: and literally pin the teams up on the the in
[38:11] Speaker 3: the tunnel of the dressing rooms. So it would come
[38:14] Speaker 3: out at about two thirty for three o'clock kickoff or
[38:17] Speaker 3: something like that. So all the journals everyone would have
[38:19] Speaker 3: to go down, all the producers for all the radio
[38:21] Speaker 3: stations to go down there and write the changes for
[38:25] Speaker 3: the team list because it was the most important thing there.
[38:27] Speaker 3: People wanted to know because there was nothing else to
[38:30] Speaker 3: find out who was in the team.
[38:31] Speaker 1: Could you bet you bet back then?
[38:32] Speaker 3: Right? I'm not sure. I think it might have been,
[38:35] Speaker 3: you know, there might have been some betting going on
[38:37] Speaker 3: or tea. I don't know, but it definitely wasn't on
[38:41] Speaker 3: phones and the rest of it like that. But to
[38:43] Speaker 3: get inside knowledge, it was more of an ego thing
[38:45] Speaker 3: for the radio stations to say, oh, we're the first
[38:48] Speaker 3: one to get the team changes. All this sort of stuff.
[38:51] Speaker 3: So I remember I got sent down and someone had
[38:54] Speaker 3: taken the bit of paper off the tunnel. So I've
[39:00] Speaker 3: got no team changes. And it was a semi final,
[39:02] Speaker 3: a big semi final like I think it might have
[39:04] Speaker 3: been a preliminary or something Brisbane versus someone I can't
[39:08] Speaker 3: I can't remember, but a massive, massive game. So it
[39:11] Speaker 3: was imperative that I get the team changes to be
[39:15] Speaker 3: able to go up there, especially with two G being
[39:17] Speaker 3: the two GB being the number one footy Broadcain, you
[39:20] Speaker 3: got Bob Fulton the rest of it. So I started
[39:27] Speaker 3: to panic. And back in the day you didn't need
[39:29] Speaker 3: any press passes or anything to get anywhere. I could
[39:32] Speaker 3: just go anywhere, so I could go on the field
[39:34] Speaker 3: if I wanted, on the sideline. In the dressing rooms.
[39:36] Speaker 3: You used to be able to go in the dressing
[39:37] Speaker 3: rooms before the games. I'd be talking to players before games, anyway,
[39:42] Speaker 3: I can remember. I panicked, so I just thought stuff
[39:45] Speaker 3: that i'ld go and try and find the team sheet. Well,
[39:47] Speaker 3: by this stage Brisbane had come back in from their
[39:51] Speaker 3: warm up and they were sitting in the like there
[39:53] Speaker 3: were two parts to the old SFS stadiums, the like
[39:56] Speaker 3: you'd go there you get strapping, and then there was
[39:58] Speaker 3: a room behind it where they would give their sort
[40:00] Speaker 3: of speech and the rest of it. So I'm in
[40:04] Speaker 3: there trying to look around for the team sheet and
[40:06] Speaker 3: everything under the gateorade bottles and the rest of it.
[40:08] Speaker 3: So I'm just in there, like no one's asking me
[40:10] Speaker 3: what I'm doing or anything like this anyway. So I come,
[40:14] Speaker 3: I see the door and I think I might be
[40:16] Speaker 3: through there. So I go charging through the door like
[40:19] Speaker 3: a like an old western saloon. Door opens up, and
[40:23] Speaker 3: here's Wayne Bennett standing there with Gordon Tallish giving like
[40:29] Speaker 3: the biggest pump up speech you've ever heard, like into him.
[40:33] Speaker 3: You can see him pointing, and everyone just stops, and
[40:36] Speaker 3: I'm just standing there like, oh my god, what's going on?
[40:40] Speaker 3: So I was waiting because you're here. I've never met
[40:43] Speaker 3: WAYN Bennett before, but you don't know what he's like.
[40:46] Speaker 3: And this is literally ten minutes before they're running out
[40:48] Speaker 3: at a preliminary final. And I can always remember he
[40:51] Speaker 3: turns to us and Gordy. This is when Gordy's playing
[40:55] Speaker 3: and fired up. He just stared straight through me. That's
[40:59] Speaker 3: just sent shit. You know you got web Ke, You've
[41:03] Speaker 3: got Brad thought, like, you've got all these players that
[41:05] Speaker 3: you know you've idolized, and I remember Wayne Bennett just
[41:09] Speaker 3: looks at me and goes, what do you want like this,
[41:13] Speaker 3: I'm just like I'm frozen, and I just said, oh,
[41:19] Speaker 3: like someone's taking the team list like I don't know,
[41:23] Speaker 3: like I've lost it. I thought i'd come in and
[41:25] Speaker 3: find it. He goes, you've got a pen, young man?
[41:28] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and everyone's looking. I am literally just like
[41:33] Speaker 3: in shock, can't move, can't do anything. Got a pen,
[41:36] Speaker 3: young man? Yeah, he goes, that's a big league, isn't it.
[41:39] Speaker 3: So he actually stood there, walked over and wrote the
[41:41] Speaker 3: changes down on my big league. It's just a beautiful story. Yeah,
[41:47] Speaker 3: how good.
[41:48] Speaker 2: Appreciating your work.
[41:50] Speaker 3: Just no, it's just someone who you know. He could
[41:53] Speaker 3: have gone the other way. I mean, imagine if I
[41:55] Speaker 3: had walked into Bellamy or I don't know if it
[41:59] Speaker 3: would have been got jobbed.
[42:00] Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. We should end up you getting
[42:02] Speaker 1: job by. Gordy would have had a great story.
[42:05] Speaker 4: Be st How funny is the coach is Coote When
[42:07] Speaker 4: it actually happened even at our age group and were coaching,
[42:09] Speaker 4: how many times people walk in while you're in the
[42:12] Speaker 4: middle of like giving them a message. Remember in the
[42:14] Speaker 4: pre limb, I was talking the boys at what our
[42:16] Speaker 4: setup is going to be for our warm up, et cetera,
[42:17] Speaker 4: et cetera, And that young guy from the new Town
[42:19] Speaker 4: Jets walks in.
[42:20] Speaker 1: He comes in and he goes, he goes, you need
[42:23] Speaker 1: this massage table? And he goes and the whole room
[42:26] Speaker 1: was quiet, and I'm talking to and they're in a
[42:28] Speaker 1: horseshoe and they're speaking of and what he goes, do
[42:31] Speaker 1: you need this massage table? And he goes on, nuh,
[42:33] Speaker 1: and he goes to walk in and try to grab it,
[42:35] Speaker 1: and then boys go, maybe just fucking wait until like
[42:38] Speaker 1: the speech is down, we're going out for warm up,
[42:40] Speaker 1: and then even coming to go and he's like, oh, yeah, whatever,
[42:42] Speaker 1: and then just like went and just sort of like
[42:44] Speaker 1: sat in the doorway and just like.
[42:47] Speaker 3: Give no respect out of here. Yeah, but it happens.
[42:50] Speaker 3: It happens all the time, especially back in the day.
[42:52] Speaker 3: That that's sick that.
[42:53] Speaker 1: You could have just walked into everything. But you're just
[42:56] Speaker 1: reminded me. I wasn't even gonna spin this because I
[42:58] Speaker 1: was embarrassed, but I may as well during the.
[43:00] Speaker 2: Week, he's trying to call who screw.
[43:04] Speaker 3: He's a grub.
[43:06] Speaker 1: Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Michael. During the week, we went
[43:10] Speaker 1: to uh Jake Tarovitch for a big dinner for coreyell
[43:14] Speaker 1: Be you know, we got Corey Withell on the radio.
[43:17] Speaker 1: He's got a page called Cory Eats. It makes you
[43:20] Speaker 1: simple food in I think they're called tacos tacos anyway,
[43:27] Speaker 1: So he's put on a dinner party for about five
[43:29] Speaker 1: or six of us and all the partners a little
[43:32] Speaker 1: bit of content for his social page. Now he's done
[43:35] Speaker 1: it at Jake Trovitch's house, his brother in law, because
[43:37] Speaker 1: Jake has a better kitchen than Whats does. And I
[43:41] Speaker 1: didn't realize. So Jake's moved house and he's moved out
[43:44] Speaker 1: about six months ago. But you see his old one
[43:47] Speaker 1: was just down the raid and Muscle Memory. I've just
[43:49] Speaker 1: gone there right now. I'm going on my phone and
[43:53] Speaker 1: I'm just scrolling through reals bit of brain rot. I'm
[43:55] Speaker 1: just thinking whatever, And I just let myself in Jake's
[43:58] Speaker 1: old place Sidegay and walk in and there was a
[44:01] Speaker 1: dinner table set in the living room. There there was
[44:04] Speaker 1: like one light on. I said oh, no one's there though,
[44:06] Speaker 1: And I was like, right, they maybe ducked out and
[44:08] Speaker 1: get some more food or whatever. So I just walk
[44:10] Speaker 1: in and I'm just sitting there and I'm watching this reel.
[44:13] Speaker 1: It was like an origin real one, and I like
[44:15] Speaker 1: someone was talking. I'm sitting there, really into it, and
[44:18] Speaker 1: then I just hear, fuck, are you look up some
[44:22] Speaker 1: fucking random blow? And I was like, he's random, Well,
[44:25] Speaker 1: you made yourself at home in the sitting on the
[44:27] Speaker 1: couch and he goes and I said, oh, sorry, and
[44:31] Speaker 1: then I've like clocked. I'm like, none of Jake this
[44:34] Speaker 1: whole place has changed, like none of his furniture and
[44:36] Speaker 1: anything the same, and there's family photos of different people
[44:39] Speaker 1: and Jake ruovich.
[44:41] Speaker 3: That's all I said.
[44:41] Speaker 1: And he goes, yeah, and I said, I'm here for
[44:44] Speaker 1: a dinner party, and he goes, Jake has lived here
[44:47] Speaker 1: in six months, and I I am so sorry, Yeah,
[44:51] Speaker 1: I like thirty two and.
[44:54] Speaker 3: Then I've taken a baseball about out of his head
[44:57] Speaker 3: specific thirty two. Around thirty two, thirty two, like.
[45:01] Speaker 1: Three hundred and forty three days and I've gone in
[45:04] Speaker 1: and I was like when I've texted Jay said, mate,
[45:06] Speaker 1: I've just rocked up and he was like, oh no,
[45:09] Speaker 1: it's all right, Like the guy's a lovely bloke, like
[45:11] Speaker 1: you wouldn't have cared, Yeah, right, probably would have.
[45:13] Speaker 3: I would say, yeah, yeah, well look he was pretty lucky.
[45:16] Speaker 1: Not many people get to have me in their living room.
[45:18] Speaker 3: Well true, did you tell him who he was or
[45:20] Speaker 3: did he ask for a photo?
[45:21] Speaker 7: No?
[45:22] Speaker 1: He gets out of my home, doesn't listen to Pody?
[45:26] Speaker 3: Long time listening.
[45:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, but talk about being in a place where you
[45:30] Speaker 1: shouldn't be. Now Jackson has decided in true, Gavin.
[45:35] Speaker 3: Just before we go any further, I don't. We were
[45:37] Speaker 3: talking about our weeks. Yeah, yeah, we got to Trish
[45:41] Speaker 3: and then I feel like I've had a pretty bad week.
[45:45] Speaker 2: This is what happens I forget.
[45:47] Speaker 3: So my wife, Laura, the lovely Laura, she's beautiful mate. Sorry,
[45:53] Speaker 3: but the lovely Laura, she's beautiful mate.
[45:57] Speaker 5: How to get her?
[45:58] Speaker 3: Yeah?
[45:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, because she's beautiful mate.
[46:01] Speaker 3: She is a beautiful girl. She's And congratulations on your
[46:04] Speaker 3: new love life as well.
[46:05] Speaker 2: There, Well there hasn't been an announcement.
[46:08] Speaker 3: I don't worry.
[46:09] Speaker 1: Well, announcement coming soon?
[46:10] Speaker 2: Is there?
[46:11] Speaker 3: With that?
[46:11] Speaker 5: Yeah?
[46:12] Speaker 3: On next week?
[46:12] Speaker 1: So you're not going to do it with me. I
[46:14] Speaker 1: thought I was going to be there. We get her
[46:16] Speaker 1: on the poddy. Oh, I'm trying to negotiate a thing
[46:19] Speaker 1: with that management.
[46:21] Speaker 3: Well, as you look to your right there, a surprise
[46:23] Speaker 3: will be coming through organized to come in. Laura's been crook,
[46:30] Speaker 3: really crooks. Influenza B. Didn't know there was a bee.
[46:33] Speaker 3: But how far does that? When do they do?
[46:36] Speaker 1: They just keep going down the alphabet.
[46:39] Speaker 5: More than B.
[46:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it caps out at.
[46:42] Speaker 2: Bats C A C better, that's true.
[46:45] Speaker 3: I think the H I V. Yes, that makes its
[46:48] Speaker 3: way down the but that's actually.
[46:50] Speaker 1: For virus, right, yeah, true, it's so smart it is
[46:55] Speaker 1: for virus.
[46:56] Speaker 3: I was trying to work it out just then.
[46:57] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[46:58] Speaker 3: No, I've just found out guys that I'm not very
[47:02] Speaker 3: good at. I think I might be like a Maddie John's.
[47:05] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[47:06] Speaker 3: In terms of Cooper, I think a lot of you.
[47:10] Speaker 3: Nothing to do with lover. It's more to do with
[47:12] Speaker 3: organization skills. And yeah, I've been struggling a lot just
[47:16] Speaker 3: with uniforms. The basics, like lunches, school are just a
[47:22] Speaker 3: miraculously get appointments, the shoctors appoint the washing.
[47:26] Speaker 2: That's hard, dinner, the groceries.
[47:29] Speaker 3: I feel like a shout out to all the single
[47:31] Speaker 3: dads out there because it's a tough it's a tough gig. Yeah, okay,
[47:35] Speaker 3: and she has been a little critical with what I've
[47:37] Speaker 3: been doing as well. She will you know, I'm really
[47:40] Speaker 3: doing my best. And to be honest, I thought a
[47:43] Speaker 3: good dad was hamball after school with the kids, time zone,
[47:48] Speaker 3: the rest of it.
[47:48] Speaker 2: You know what, you are a good dad because you
[47:50] Speaker 2: were coaching and.
[47:53] Speaker 4: So.
[47:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, you're a little aggressive. Yeah, I've heard some of
[47:57] Speaker 1: the girls complain and stuff.
[47:59] Speaker 3: Girls definitely don't complain parents, no appearance, don't at all.
[48:03] Speaker 1: Well, I've heard you go pretty crazy out there.
[48:05] Speaker 5: I've heard you're a madman.
[48:06] Speaker 1: Gave abuse.
[48:08] Speaker 2: I don't believe it. Gave thanks.
[48:12] Speaker 5: I spoke to the Junior Reference associated it was. It
[48:19] Speaker 5: was Kevin Montgomery and Jessica Montgomery and they said they said,
[48:24] Speaker 5: you're very close to get on the band list.
[48:27] Speaker 2: Okay, I would not think so.
[48:29] Speaker 4: Well, I've also got here too for you gave the
[48:32] Speaker 4: difference between influenza A and B. SO symptoms fairly fever, chills, coughs,
[48:39] Speaker 4: sore throat, et cetera. But influenza A infects humans and
[48:43] Speaker 4: many other animals, pigs, birds, et cetera. Influenza B primarily
[48:48] Speaker 4: just humans, And the main one is it's the severity
[48:52] Speaker 4: of outbreaks, so A can lead to pandemics, whereas B
[48:57] Speaker 4: small smaller outbreaks, changes slowly and then it doesn't affect
[49:01] Speaker 4: like mass groups.
[49:03] Speaker 5: Yeah, so she's got the exclusive one.
[49:05] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[49:05] Speaker 2: Oh well, good to know she didn't catch a problem
[49:07] Speaker 2: bach the problem.
[49:08] Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, good to see. There's no big reality in
[49:11] Speaker 3: the family at the moment. It's been six months. Yeah,
[49:16] Speaker 3: you were the tigers. Yeah yeah, just walking straight into it,
[49:23] Speaker 3: and it's the problem. The problem is though, I hate
[49:26] Speaker 3: it because I reckon, I'm about sort of sixty five
[49:29] Speaker 3: seventy of getting it. Yeah, and I've already watched what
[49:32] Speaker 3: it's like.
[49:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, so maybe you're immune, man, I think I might be.
[49:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, haven't bloody brought it here today?
[49:39] Speaker 3: No, I haven't, trash.
[49:40] Speaker 1: I always find that. I always dumbfounder Bolt. You can
[49:43] Speaker 1: go to work or to school and someone you know
[49:45] Speaker 1: has got it and you catch it really quick. But
[49:47] Speaker 1: your spouse or your partner you sleep next to every
[49:50] Speaker 1: night can have something and you're kissing them in that
[49:52] Speaker 1: and you don't get it.
[49:52] Speaker 3: You don't get it.
[49:53] Speaker 1: That's weird.
[49:53] Speaker 3: But what about this, what about the secretary at a doctor? Yeah,
[49:58] Speaker 3: they never SI, they never doctors.
[50:00] Speaker 4: You know what, they had built immunity that I went
[50:03] Speaker 4: about six months ago, I went to the like the
[50:04] Speaker 4: local GP, and I've started realizing they're putting up like
[50:08] Speaker 4: glass windows at the reception desk.
[50:10] Speaker 2: And I was like, that's been since COVID.
[50:12] Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what I mean, that's what's separating us.
[50:15] Speaker 5: Separating it's like literally it's like trying to go into
[50:18] Speaker 5: the bank and putting your money.
[50:20] Speaker 2: The perspects from I got a COVID, I got a
[50:22] Speaker 2: conspiracy theory.
[50:23] Speaker 3: Love it.
[50:24] Speaker 1: There's my tinfoil hat. I got one. I'm going to
[50:26] Speaker 1: make a statement, Okay, I think that is evidence of
[50:30] Speaker 1: that there is a vaccine out there that cures us
[50:34] Speaker 1: of all sickness, and they only give it to the
[50:36] Speaker 1: doctors and the secretaries of doctors because they want us
[50:40] Speaker 1: to continue to go in there, paying the economy and
[50:42] Speaker 1: paying for work for medicine, all that stuff.
[50:47] Speaker 5: I know.
[50:47] Speaker 6: It's desensitization. So it's built their immunity. So courtural things, right,
[50:53] Speaker 6: that's that's I'm going to make you one actually thought.
[50:56] Speaker 3: It's for yeah, true, if you I'm with cubes, the
[51:01] Speaker 3: amount of scientists, the amount of flus, the amount of everything,
[51:04] Speaker 3: we've got to have a kid. I reckon there would
[51:05] Speaker 3: be like that super booster. Is that what you're talking about?
[51:08] Speaker 3: So you could just take one I think one injection?
[51:10] Speaker 3: Which would that's it?
[51:12] Speaker 4: Well?
[51:12] Speaker 1: They talk about right, They talk like if if all
[51:15] Speaker 1: of a sudden they just had one thing and then
[51:16] Speaker 1: no one was getting sick and no one's going to
[51:18] Speaker 1: buy medicine from the doctor all the time, the economy
[51:21] Speaker 1: goes down, the government goes down, taxpayers money goes down.
[51:24] Speaker 2: Can I tell you something really strange?
[51:28] Speaker 3: This is pretty strange? Is it?
[51:29] Speaker 6: Thet after I finished chemo therapy. Prior to that, I
[51:37] Speaker 6: would catch everything like anyone had to sneeze.
[51:40] Speaker 2: I debt.
[51:42] Speaker 6: After chemote therapy, I caught nothing. Wow, for a good
[51:46] Speaker 6: eighteen months, even maybe two years. It was the healthiest
[51:49] Speaker 6: I ever was. It's so weird, like the whole family
[51:52] Speaker 6: had a cold.
[51:52] Speaker 3: Is that because you were after chema, eating healthier, looking
[51:56] Speaker 3: after your body.
[51:57] Speaker 1: I don't reckon sickness could like live in the body for.
[51:59] Speaker 2: A bit with potential with the doubt all of it potentially.
[52:06] Speaker 2: Are you saying like it was like I had superimmunity.
[52:09] Speaker 4: Yeah, so either you had superimmunity or there was so
[52:11] Speaker 4: much like you know that mister Burns thing in the
[52:13] Speaker 4: Simpsons where all the all they were trying to get
[52:15] Speaker 4: in the door at the same time that none of
[52:17] Speaker 4: them can actually get through the door.
[52:20] Speaker 1: What an advertise, But I did.
[52:22] Speaker 2: I did mention it to the oncologist and she said,
[52:24] Speaker 2: I've heard that.
[52:25] Speaker 1: Before, right, what an advertising for chemotherapy?
[52:29] Speaker 3: True? Wow, your immune system, Like I'm the worst sick patient.
[52:33] Speaker 8: As well you are.
[52:34] Speaker 3: I can't take it cold. The smallest of things.
[52:37] Speaker 6: Your kidney stones going, that's really you got to we
[52:43] Speaker 6: them ouaday, because that's one of my biggest fears.
[52:46] Speaker 1: Does it hurt heaps?
[52:47] Speaker 3: Yeah? It does?
[52:48] Speaker 1: They do they have to shot?
[52:49] Speaker 3: Don't have to like break shot over them? Yeah?
[52:51] Speaker 2: Yea.
[52:52] Speaker 1: So how does that delays of them? Do youoronate like
[52:54] Speaker 1: blood in that Yes all the time, Like I said,
[52:57] Speaker 1: not all the.
[52:57] Speaker 3: Time, but after obviously the surgery and things like that,
[53:00] Speaker 3: or if they move. They say the pain of a
[53:03] Speaker 3: kidney stone is as child as childbirth.
[53:06] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[53:06] Speaker 2: If I think I reckon, you might be right.
[53:09] Speaker 3: That's because also ladies that have had both, and they
[53:14] Speaker 3: said they would take.
[53:15] Speaker 1: Sort of sort of feels they'd rather a birth.
[53:18] Speaker 3: Well, they said, it's on the same sort of level
[53:19] Speaker 3: as pain. Like I'm telling you, the pain of a
[53:21] Speaker 3: kidney stone is nothing, and.
[53:23] Speaker 6: It's ongoing, that's a thing, Whereas with the birth, you
[53:25] Speaker 6: know there's going to be and you can see it.
[53:27] Speaker 3: Like you know when you like you hurt your leg
[53:29] Speaker 3: or something and you're like, it hurts when something internal
[53:33] Speaker 3: is going on. It's more than panic.
[53:34] Speaker 5: Would for us for content purposes, would you film your
[53:37] Speaker 5: next or.
[53:38] Speaker 3: Do anything for content?
[53:39] Speaker 1: I was, well, I was about to say, can we
[53:42] Speaker 1: do a live potty live from like the life from
[53:45] Speaker 1: the kidney Stones? When you're urinating? So me and Dad
[53:48] Speaker 1: and Jack were talking about Origin one, you know, and
[53:51] Speaker 1: then you see in the background, like.
[53:54] Speaker 2: Can you enlighten this as to how to minimize your
[53:57] Speaker 2: risk of kidney stones? Because things do.
[53:59] Speaker 3: No, it's all drinking water.
[54:03] Speaker 2: So drinking water, Wow, what it is like?
[54:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, like smart asses over here, Okay, there's a
[54:09] Speaker 3: huge difference between drinking one leader and four leaders. Yeah,
[54:13] Speaker 3: it's actually quite hard to drink fullers. And people say Oh,
[54:16] Speaker 3: I go to the gym and I'll drink four leaders easy. Well,
[54:18] Speaker 3: that's sort of defeating the purpose. You're sweating it out.
[54:21] Speaker 1: I reckon, you can internally drown from drinking too much.
[54:23] Speaker 3: You can, I've heard that you can. Yeah, you can drown.
[54:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, we used to at Melbourne Storm. We used to
[54:28] Speaker 1: every wrestle session we won't allowed water. John Donna, who's
[54:31] Speaker 1: the rest, has been doing it for a long time.
[54:33] Speaker 1: And then I said, jd are we reckon? We're a
[54:36] Speaker 1: chance of dying of dehydration? He said, and I quote
[54:39] Speaker 1: more people die from over hydration than dehydration. Wow, And
[54:42] Speaker 1: I said, that sounds like one of the great lives
[54:44] Speaker 1: of the time.
[54:45] Speaker 2: That sounds unusual. I would think that it's probably.
[54:51] Speaker 3: At what point as well? Do you think enough's enough? Yeah?
[54:54] Speaker 3: Do you start blowing up? You reckon like from the wadration.
[54:58] Speaker 2: And wouldn't you pay you just be continually?
[55:00] Speaker 3: Well, that's the problem with the four or five leaders,
[55:02] Speaker 3: Like people say they do drink that much, but if
[55:04] Speaker 3: you're not going twenty times a day.
[55:05] Speaker 4: I'd love to get an exclusive interview at the toilet
[55:08] Speaker 4: bowl with those kidney stones and asking.
[55:10] Speaker 3: The problem coops, you never know when they're going to
[55:13] Speaker 3: come exactly and the surgery. They might do it three
[55:15] Speaker 3: months earlier and then it comes four months after.
[55:17] Speaker 5: Do you see them come out?
[55:19] Speaker 3: Yeah? Physically and how big are they Well, it depends
[55:22] Speaker 3: on a big day, but around two mil.
[55:24] Speaker 2: Wow does it hurt? Okay?
[55:26] Speaker 6: Personal question literally coming out through the eye of the
[55:28] Speaker 6: Penish trash.
[55:30] Speaker 1: It's a friend.
[55:31] Speaker 3: I didn't think I needed to go into this. I've
[55:34] Speaker 3: I've been dragged down the tongue.
[55:37] Speaker 2: I think it's interesting now it is.
[55:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, and it is a lot of people out there
[55:40] Speaker 3: would be on my side there. It's very paper.
[55:43] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I've heard it.
[55:44] Speaker 1: We've been going for a long long time, so we
[55:46] Speaker 1: don't we have to color a little bit of stuff.
[55:49] Speaker 1: But we do want to go to We want to
[55:51] Speaker 1: obviously do our tips and we do. We do want
[55:53] Speaker 1: to tips.
[55:53] Speaker 5: Trish.
[55:53] Speaker 1: If you got a leader board update.
[55:54] Speaker 5: With it, we do.
[55:57] Speaker 6: Cooper, you're leading on sixty five. You got six last week. Jack,
[56:01] Speaker 6: you had a big comeback last week. You got seven
[56:04] Speaker 6: of the eighth, so you're on sixty. Matt only got five.
[56:08] Speaker 6: He's on sixty one. I got seven and I'm on
[56:11] Speaker 6: sixty four, so I'm in second place. Now, I would
[56:13] Speaker 6: just like to let you all know picked seven from eight.
[56:19] Speaker 6: I Matt picked Dragon's Eels Nights, which I would never
[56:22] Speaker 6: have so I just null and voided those.
[56:25] Speaker 2: But I would have picked the Cowboys.
[56:27] Speaker 3: I did hear those tips, and I thought he was
[56:29] Speaker 3: was a bit dodgy.
[56:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, not let He's coming last. Why would I
[56:32] Speaker 2: let him?
[56:33] Speaker 3: Do you pick Titans every week?
[56:35] Speaker 2: Every week?
[56:36] Speaker 4: So do I?
[56:36] Speaker 5: Actually?
[56:37] Speaker 2: Yes, you had a pretty loyal Cooper is the only
[56:38] Speaker 2: one who has.
[56:39] Speaker 1: I picked him last week?
[56:40] Speaker 3: I know, did you? Yeah?
[56:42] Speaker 1: I can feel I'm just a real I try to
[56:44] Speaker 1: put bias aside and just use my actual football education.
[56:47] Speaker 1: That's why I'm winning game.
[56:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, well I'm doing okay as well.
[56:51] Speaker 1: You get to do dads today, you.
[56:53] Speaker 3: Get to be You're welcome.
[56:56] Speaker 6: Oh there's going to be trouble, yeah, because you're going
[56:58] Speaker 6: to pick West Tigers over the Titans.
[56:59] Speaker 3: But that's okay, fine, I'm going in. What about last
[57:04] Speaker 3: week on the show, how I said that the Tigers
[57:06] Speaker 3: were morals? Yeah? He said, talked it up so hard,
[57:09] Speaker 3: like I reckon like that. I started to see the
[57:11] Speaker 3: bedding like actually come in at the stage I'd talked
[57:14] Speaker 3: it up that hard he goes.
[57:15] Speaker 1: He goes, mate, I reckon there are a chance, fans penrith,
[57:17] Speaker 1: I reckon there are a chance. And I backed it
[57:19] Speaker 1: up with something said, they've got a lot of x
[57:20] Speaker 1: pand with poison they always lift when they play against him.
[57:22] Speaker 1: Seventy four Nils sixty eight nil it was.
[57:25] Speaker 3: And remember I refused to then start refreshing my computer
[57:28] Speaker 3: because every time I touched it there was another try.
[57:31] Speaker 3: So yeah, coops had to end up refreshing it and
[57:33] Speaker 3: give that depressed.
[57:37] Speaker 6: All right, as you are our guest of honor, rabbidos
[57:41] Speaker 6: at Broncos, who you haven't.
[57:43] Speaker 3: I will be going south.
[57:47] Speaker 5: I'm going sau City myself. They were in a white
[57:49] Speaker 5: strip this week from I didn't know that, so.
[57:52] Speaker 4: Arrow on the back as the white out strips. That's
[57:55] Speaker 4: good work, South Sydney.
[57:57] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to go. I'm going to go South
[57:59] Speaker 1: too because Broncos no hass and Rees Walsh is on
[58:01] Speaker 1: that extended bench for Origin, so I'll they've got too
[58:04] Speaker 1: many years and.
[58:05] Speaker 2: I'm on the South as well. Dolphins and the Roosters.
[58:09] Speaker 3: I think I've actually yeah, I've gone Dolphins, have you?
[58:12] Speaker 6: Yeah?
[58:12] Speaker 3: I love the way they're playing. In fact, I think
[58:15] Speaker 3: the Dolphins.
[58:16] Speaker 2: They lost last week to they know they won.
[58:17] Speaker 3: They won. Yeah, I think the Dolphins coops. I think
[58:21] Speaker 3: they're a huge chance and I think they're probably one
[58:25] Speaker 3: of only a couple of teams that can give Penrith
[58:28] Speaker 3: any trouble just with the speed out wide. I think
[58:31] Speaker 3: they're forward power. I think they've got a great balanced team.
[58:34] Speaker 2: It okay, you're Dolphins.
[58:35] Speaker 1: What about you Dolphins as well?
[58:38] Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to go the Roosters. You're the Wars
[58:42] Speaker 2: and the Sharks. I'm gone the worst.
[58:43] Speaker 3: Yeah, gone the Wors.
[58:45] Speaker 5: You can't get you can't back against them. They just
[58:47] Speaker 5: they got too much momentum.
[58:48] Speaker 2: What about you keeps?
[58:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, I was pretty we called that Dragons game last week.
[58:54] Speaker 1: They should have got beat by the Dragons first half.
[58:56] Speaker 3: So although they did something find some form in that second,
[59:00] Speaker 3: it's not too many outs. Yeah.
[59:01] Speaker 1: And over in New Zealand.
[59:04] Speaker 2: Eels and the Raiders. This is an interesting one.
[59:07] Speaker 3: It is a big one. I still went the Raiders.
[59:09] Speaker 3: The Raiders. I think they're just what happened to the
[59:13] Speaker 3: Raiders have won.
[59:15] Speaker 5: I'm going just on the pure you know, they would
[59:18] Speaker 5: have had a pretty intense week. I reckon the train and.
[59:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, god, I'm going to get the Raiders as well.
[59:26] Speaker 3: You know what, No within strange thought, a couple of
[59:29] Speaker 3: up you.
[59:29] Speaker 2: Know what, I'm going to go to the Eels cares.
[59:31] Speaker 3: I'm going to go a little So that's one where
[59:33] Speaker 3: I feel there could be a little bit of an
[59:34] Speaker 3: upset there, Coup. They've been playing consistent.
[59:39] Speaker 2: I'm on Boys.
[59:41] Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're right, the Origin Boys are out okay.
[59:44] Speaker 2: And last game Tigers and the Titans. Well, obviously I'm
[59:47] Speaker 2: the Titans.
[59:47] Speaker 3: You know where I'm going.
[59:48] Speaker 6: Okay, So gav is picking the Tigers from two on
[59:53] Speaker 6: for Matthew's Behart.
[59:54] Speaker 3: It's the last game of like ut for a couple
[59:55] Speaker 3: of years as well. If we can't get up for
[59:58] Speaker 3: this game the time try and get there, I'm going
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: to say, I mean, yeah, I won't be happy if
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: we can't Sunday afternoon, four o'clock like Art Oval on
[1:00:06] Speaker 3: a Sunday packed house, no offense. We can't get up
[1:00:08] Speaker 3: for the Titans no offense. True. I'm often I have to.
[1:00:13] Speaker 6: Say every time I think I've been to like like Heart,
[1:00:17] Speaker 6: I've watched West loose.
[1:00:20] Speaker 2: But anyway, that.
[1:00:23] Speaker 3: Again, I doubled down tip chemistry.
[1:00:28] Speaker 4: She's actually been red hot this year. So but I'm
[1:00:30] Speaker 4: going to go with the Titans two from two.
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: I am going to go the times they were impressive
[1:00:34] Speaker 1: against the Broncos last week.
[1:00:35] Speaker 2: I think.
[1:00:38] Speaker 1: It's been before we wrap up as well. I do
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: want to shout someone out during the week. Caine Evans
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: coming out as gay during the week. I thought it
[1:00:45] Speaker 1: was very first boat since Ian Roberts in the n
[1:00:48] Speaker 1: role that's done it, and there's only been one AFL
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: player who's retired and he come out as bisexual. I believe,
[1:00:54] Speaker 1: for give him me, I'm wrong with that, but yeah,
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: I thought it was very very brave of Kane Evans
[1:00:59] Speaker 1: to do it, and I hope it's a little bit
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: to think that there are people in today's society that,
[1:01:05] Speaker 1: particularly in sport, because we know sports are a hard
[1:01:07] Speaker 1: environment to be gay in, people feeling like they're judged
[1:01:12] Speaker 1: and whatnot. We saw the interview that Cane ever Zee
[1:01:14] Speaker 1: with James Bracy, But to think that still today there
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: are people living through that. Potentially, I'm hoping that the
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: Kine Evans news brings a lot more of those boys
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: out and feeling not forcing them out but just feeling
[1:01:26] Speaker 1: comfortable in doing that because well.
[1:01:28] Speaker 6: Just think being comfortable and not feeling ashamed or feeling
[1:01:33] Speaker 6: that they need to come out, do you know what
[1:01:35] Speaker 6: I mean?
[1:01:36] Speaker 2: Might just be everyone should just be allowed to be
[1:01:38] Speaker 2: who they are.
[1:01:39] Speaker 1: You know, Jack and I have been. I hope I
[1:01:42] Speaker 1: think jack experience in a locker room would be the
[1:01:44] Speaker 1: exact same, like no one really cares, like no one
[1:01:47] Speaker 1: would care. And I guess it's a hard thing for
[1:01:50] Speaker 1: people to sometimes come out with, but I would like
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: to think that twenty twenty six, where the world's at now,
[1:01:55] Speaker 1: we've got bigger problems than you know, people not feeling
[1:01:58] Speaker 1: accepted within the low room and stuff. I hope that,
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: you know, I commend Kane Evans what he's done because
[1:02:03] Speaker 1: I hope it really sets the standard now.
[1:02:06] Speaker 5: He's a great fellow too. We are twenty twenty one.
[1:02:08] Speaker 4: At the start of that season, I went back to
[1:02:09] Speaker 4: Newcastle and we had an issue we had like I
[1:02:12] Speaker 4: was back in the halves and we had no front rowers.
[1:02:14] Speaker 4: So the Wires, obviously they were over here at the
[1:02:16] Speaker 4: time and he was with them. They lent us two
[1:02:18] Speaker 4: fronties for a weekend and that was the first time
[1:02:20] Speaker 4: over with Tyron wish Ut. We beat the Dragons that
[1:02:22] Speaker 4: day and he came and him and Caine another fella
[1:02:26] Speaker 4: came and played in.
[1:02:27] Speaker 5: The front row for us, and they were awesome. We
[1:02:30] Speaker 5: had a great game. But more importantly like.
[1:02:32] Speaker 4: They they were keen to have a beer with us after,
[1:02:34] Speaker 4: have a laugh, like they didn't obviously like it's hard
[1:02:36] Speaker 4: to explain to people, but when you come back from
[1:02:38] Speaker 4: NRL you're a lot of the time, Cooper. You get
[1:02:40] Speaker 4: a lot of people come back and they don't have
[1:02:42] Speaker 4: the best attitude. They're not happy to be playing reserve grade.
[1:02:45] Speaker 4: But they dropped the let alone being lent to another
[1:02:47] Speaker 4: team's reserve grade side.
[1:02:48] Speaker 5: But him and him and remember.
[1:02:51] Speaker 4: Who who was with us, But they were great fellas
[1:02:53] Speaker 4: and the boys. Actually I was chatting a Mattic Croaker,
[1:02:55] Speaker 4: well chatt about it yesterday, Jack Murchy. No, it wasn't
[1:02:57] Speaker 4: Jack Murchie, he was. It was a I can't remember
[1:02:59] Speaker 4: his name, but probably listened. But they were great fellas.
[1:03:03] Speaker 4: Me and Maddy Craik were talking about the other day
[1:03:04] Speaker 4: because it's such it was a little bit of a
[1:03:05] Speaker 4: deep cut because when you never really get lent players
[1:03:08] Speaker 4: for a week.
[1:03:09] Speaker 1: Never back in COVID. Happened at the time Cory Hawes
[1:03:12] Speaker 1: at the Bulldogs for a remember that.
[1:03:16] Speaker 2: Came to the standing ovation.
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: That was a whole year that I know. This year
[1:03:21] Speaker 1: played origin front.
[1:03:22] Speaker 3: Of course he did and now is wrecking Truish like
[1:03:25] Speaker 3: he was. He was second fiddled to Cameron Smith there.
[1:03:28] Speaker 3: He got broad on the.
[1:03:30] Speaker 1: He was going to go to the Super League.
[1:03:32] Speaker 2: But I do think that he may have made the
[1:03:35] Speaker 2: Tigers that you too.
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: I think I think it was quite mutual they did.
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: I think that was more meaning what an opportunity it
[1:03:42] Speaker 1: was to show what he was like.
[1:03:44] Speaker 3: She's quick. Just Kaye Evans as well. Huge shout out
[1:03:47] Speaker 3: to the Is it the Rugby League Players Association that
[1:03:51] Speaker 3: got in contact? I think it was Joe Nulliva from Penrith,
[1:03:54] Speaker 3: a man back in the as well. He did. He
[1:03:57] Speaker 3: did too, Yeah, a real good fellow and it's good
[1:03:59] Speaker 3: to see those sort of guys that, you know, one
[1:04:02] Speaker 3: of those hard men that can go and talk to
[1:04:04] Speaker 3: another hard man about what it's doing and then you
[1:04:07] Speaker 3: never see what coaches do. When you were talking about
[1:04:10] Speaker 3: mayor managers and things. Now, Trent Robertson I heard was
[1:04:13] Speaker 3: paying for rent and the rest of it. Never hear
[1:04:16] Speaker 3: anything about that sort of stuff. And you can only
[1:04:18] Speaker 3: imagine because he played for the Roosters, didn't he so
[1:04:22] Speaker 3: seven years? Yeah, it just shows how rugby league, when
[1:04:25] Speaker 3: someone's in trouble, someone puts their hand up or they
[1:04:28] Speaker 3: find out it's so good the way that they can
[1:04:31] Speaker 3: go and actually active and do this. And you know what,
[1:04:35] Speaker 3: I reckon this has probably saved his life without any doubt.
[1:04:40] Speaker 3: And if he can now take that message and someone
[1:04:43] Speaker 3: as big and tough as Kine Evans comes out and
[1:04:45] Speaker 3: sees the support that everyone's given him, hopefully this might
[1:04:49] Speaker 3: be because you know, statistically there would be gay men
[1:04:51] Speaker 3: playing in rugby league, no doubt. So I really hope
[1:04:55] Speaker 3: that that stigma's long gone and people just worry about
[1:05:00] Speaker 3: how you are.
[1:05:00] Speaker 2: As a person exactly, being a good person.
[1:05:02] Speaker 3: Exactly, and love watching your play footy. There should be
[1:05:05] Speaker 3: no around love it.
[1:05:07] Speaker 1: Great words. I appreciate you coming on to that.
[1:05:09] Speaker 3: Gave.
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: Dad has sent through a voice message another one if
[1:05:12] Speaker 1: you want to listen to it before.
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: I just want to say something, Gave. This has been
[1:05:15] Speaker 2: my favorite episode and.
[1:05:17] Speaker 3: Guys, can I just say, like you know, you said,
[1:05:20] Speaker 3: get off her nipple or whatever it was last night.
[1:05:23] Speaker 3: But I had so much fun for that five years.
[1:05:26] Speaker 3: And I'm so proud of the way that Jack's taken over.
[1:05:29] Speaker 3: He's taken it to a new level because Jack didn't
[1:05:33] Speaker 3: do it. He didn't know anything about production, and we
[1:05:35] Speaker 3: think so it was just listening in learning when we
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: would turn up two hours before gave how do you
[1:05:40] Speaker 3: do this? And we still talk to each other. I
[1:05:42] Speaker 3: still talk to Trisha once or twice every couple of
[1:05:46] Speaker 3: weeks just to get in Great to be working with you, mate,
[1:05:49] Speaker 3: But just thank you so much for that four or
[1:05:51] Speaker 3: five years where I was sort of in the outer
[1:05:53] Speaker 3: a little bit, didn't I for light rugby league where
[1:05:55] Speaker 3: I wanted to go, and you just sort of made
[1:05:58] Speaker 3: me feel really at home here, like a second family
[1:06:01] Speaker 3: to you guys. So I really appreciate it.
[1:06:03] Speaker 1: If I had a hard I reckon you'd nearly make
[1:06:04] Speaker 1: me cry if.
[1:06:05] Speaker 3: He has, but I really appreciate it. And congratulations on
[1:06:08] Speaker 3: the podcast. It's absolutely thank you.
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: And I hope Dad always I hope Dad has a
[1:06:13] Speaker 1: nice message for you here because I hope it's not
[1:06:15] Speaker 1: another one.
[1:06:16] Speaker 7: I gave you low prick mate. Listen, I'm going to
[1:06:23] Speaker 7: pull out the big Guns. You ever heard of a
[1:06:25] Speaker 7: bloke called Alec Volkanowski. Well, may just got a message
[1:06:27] Speaker 7: for you, mate.
[1:06:28] Speaker 8: Look to be honest, I hate pieces of ship morals.
[1:06:32] Speaker 8: Watch yourself for the headlock. Good luck.
[1:06:38] Speaker 3: What the hell? Alexander the Great? Can you send me that? Actually?
[1:06:42] Speaker 2: The US?
[1:06:43] Speaker 3: I love the USA, I think, mate, you're If I
[1:06:46] Speaker 3: had that would have been my dream to go over
[1:06:48] Speaker 3: there the Masters or the White House. Yeah, to go
[1:06:51] Speaker 3: there and either watch the Master's goal Ford to the
[1:06:53] Speaker 3: White House and that to you right now, thank you?
[1:06:55] Speaker 2: So when's that on? It's it on Sunday weekend, on Monday.
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: It's Monday, Monday here Sunday in America. Once in the
[1:07:03] Speaker 1: lifetime stuff at the big En it.
[1:07:05] Speaker 3: Will never happen again. Sorry. Just before we go, you
[1:07:07] Speaker 3: see Travis Pastrana then like bailed out Donald Trump and
[1:07:12] Speaker 3: he is now saying that he wants to do a
[1:07:13] Speaker 3: backflip in front.
[1:07:14] Speaker 1: Of he is his dad rang me and this is
[1:07:17] Speaker 1: how old dad is. Right, You're gonna love this great
[1:07:20] Speaker 1: way to round out of Dad rings me and he goes.
[1:07:23] Speaker 1: You know Travis Forastrana, you know from from Krusty Demons.
[1:07:30] Speaker 3: Do you know Dane what owns it? N circuit owns
[1:07:34] Speaker 3: them all.
[1:07:35] Speaker 5: He goes, he goes.
[1:07:36] Speaker 1: I think I think him, and I think the Crusty
[1:07:38] Speaker 1: Demons is going to do bloody.
[1:07:39] Speaker 3: I think.
[1:07:41] Speaker 1: They're the Australians just just doing tail whips.
[1:07:48] Speaker 3: I'm a little razor, not doing four backflips.
[1:07:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, but that'll be sick.
[1:07:51] Speaker 3: It's pretty insane though, isn't it.
[1:07:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, And I get that people getting controversial about it,
[1:07:55] Speaker 1: but like pretty sick. I would love to see no
[1:07:57] Speaker 1: limber Boxing do one on bloody Parliament House of course,
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: down there, camera out the front of question imagine question.
[1:08:05] Speaker 5: I love that.
[1:08:06] Speaker 2: Oh it's fun. Have we love having you. Have a
[1:08:11] Speaker 2: great weekend.
