[0:00] SPEAKER_00: Hey girllies, it's Daniela here, BFF with relatable girl talk and crazy dating stories.
[0:05] SPEAKER_00: Are you ready to chat?
[0:07] SPEAKER_00: I'm calling.
[0:08] SPEAKER_00: Hi, Bestie Pop.
[0:09] SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Call Me Back podcast.
[0:12] SPEAKER_00: Thank you for always picking up when I call.
[0:15] SPEAKER_00: You have no idea how incredible and irreplaceable not only are you in my life, but in this world.
[0:21] SPEAKER_00: You are here for a very specific purpose.
[0:23] SPEAKER_00: And just in case you forgot, you are so dang pretty.
[0:26] SPEAKER_00: Like, what are you even doing?
[0:27] SPEAKER_00: Tell me your secrets.
[0:28] SPEAKER_00: Spill the tea.
[0:29] SPEAKER_00: I need to know.
[0:30] SPEAKER_00: Because you're so pretty.
[0:31] SPEAKER_00: But that doesn't surprise me because not only is my girl squad, my bestie pops, so gorgeous on the inside and out.
[0:38] SPEAKER_00: Um, you guys are also girls, girls.
[0:40] SPEAKER_00: And let's be real, you follow girl code.
[0:43] SPEAKER_00: Today's episode is about girl code.
[0:45] SPEAKER_00: We need to dive in because not only do we have a very juicy dating story that I'm going to unveil that has to do with a girl who broke girl code, but also one of our girlies wrote in she needs our advice on something.
[1:01] SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna jump into that.
[1:03] SPEAKER_00: And I have a feeling I already know what you guys are gonna say, but honestly, it's juicy.
[1:07] SPEAKER_00: Like I have to tell you the tea.
[1:09] SPEAKER_00: I have to fill you in on what's going on.
[1:11] SPEAKER_00: Um, but also don't forget to subscribe.
[1:14] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be starting to release podcast episodes every week.
[1:17] SPEAKER_00: So just make sure you subscribe um or follow however it works.
[1:20] SPEAKER_00: I don't even know.
[1:21] SPEAKER_00: Like wherever you're listening, um, that way you get notified when the episodes drop.
[1:25] SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's jump right into this.
[1:26] SPEAKER_00: So this is from one of our girlies.
[1:28] SPEAKER_00: She's like, help help.
[1:30] SPEAKER_00: I need your advice.
[1:31] SPEAKER_00: Um, this is time sensitive.
[1:33] SPEAKER_00: It's a time-sensitive manager.
[1:35] SPEAKER_00: Manager?
[1:35] SPEAKER_00: Manor.
[1:36] SPEAKER_00: I'm recording this.
[1:37] SPEAKER_00: I'm releasing this, I think within like the same evening.
[1:42] SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, this is straight from one of our besties.
[1:45] SPEAKER_00: She goes, I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I need the girly pops input.
[1:49] SPEAKER_00: I ran into my boyfriend's sister's boyfriend at a haunted house amusement park just the other day, but he was with another girl.
[1:56] SPEAKER_00: They were not holding hands, but my stomach dropped.
[1:59] SPEAKER_00: He's got a lot of friends, so maybe it was innocent question mark, but what if it wasn't?
[2:04] SPEAKER_00: If I say something and it's nothing, then I'm the drama.
[2:07] SPEAKER_00: But if he's cheating and I say nothing, I'm a bad sister.
[2:11] SPEAKER_00: So I so then she sends me a, she sent me that, and then she sent me a really quick update.
[2:15] SPEAKER_00: And she's like, okay, update.
[2:16] SPEAKER_00: I texted her and she said that he's out with friends tonight, but that she didn't go.
[2:21] SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, I didn't and when she said when I mean like she texted her, like she didn't tell her the deeds, but she was just like, hey girl, like what are you up to tonight?
[2:31] SPEAKER_00: She's trying to feel out the situation, okay?
[2:33] SPEAKER_00: But our girly said that although her sis knew that he was out, she didn't tell her what she saw, okay?
[2:44] SPEAKER_00: So fast forward, sorry, I'm being confusing, but she said, I didn't see the thing is I didn't see any other friends with him though.
[2:51] SPEAKER_00: So she's like thinking to herself, like, do I say something to my sis because out with friends?
[2:56] SPEAKER_00: He was just out with another girl.
[2:58] SPEAKER_00: So anyway, our girly said, I did some light FBI work just now and I found the girl.
[3:02] SPEAKER_00: She was in a wedding party with him a few weeks ago that I know my sis wasn't invited to, and her feelings were specifically hurt that her boyfriend did not invite her to this wedding.
[3:12] SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah.
[3:13] SPEAKER_00: So our girly pops says, I'm trying to assume the best, but my gut feels off.
[3:17] SPEAKER_00: Um, my gut feels off reading this.
[3:20] SPEAKER_00: He's done some shady stuff before too.
[3:21] SPEAKER_00: We caught him leaving thirst trap comments years ago, but he swore he changed.
[3:25] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I'm overreacting or seeing red flags for a reason.
[3:28] SPEAKER_00: What would you do?
[3:29] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
[3:30] SPEAKER_00: Bestie Pops, what would you do?
[3:33] SPEAKER_00: It is hard because let's be honest, girl code 101, you have to tell her.
[3:38] SPEAKER_00: Like, there's no excuse.
[3:39] SPEAKER_00: But also it is a little bit stressful because there is always that fear, like, oh my gosh, what if I'm causing an unnecessary drama?
[3:45] SPEAKER_00: But honestly, girl code overrides that.
[3:48] SPEAKER_00: I think you have to tell her, and you could tell her in the most chill way.
[3:51] SPEAKER_00: You could be like, hey, girly, um, I just want to give you a heads up.
[3:55] SPEAKER_00: It's probably nothing.
[3:57] SPEAKER_00: It's probably nothing.
[3:59] SPEAKER_00: But you know, I love you so much.
[4:00] SPEAKER_00: I always have your back.
[4:01] SPEAKER_00: So I had to tell you, I just saw your man out with one of his friends, but it was a girlfriend.
[4:07] SPEAKER_00: So I just want to make sure that you knew.
[4:09] SPEAKER_00: That's what I would do.
[4:10] SPEAKER_00: Because at the end of the day, Bestie, your loyalty is to her.
[4:14] SPEAKER_00: Your loyalty is to her.
[4:16] SPEAKER_00: That's what I would do.
[4:17] SPEAKER_00: But Bestie Pops, what do you think she should do?
[4:20] SPEAKER_00: Um, go to the Call Me Back podcast Instagram account.
[4:24] SPEAKER_00: I'm going to post a video about this tonight.
[4:27] SPEAKER_00: Let's see if I can make that happen.
[4:29] SPEAKER_00: I'm just like a little machine over here.
[4:31] SPEAKER_00: So the Call Me Back Podcast Instagram is um linked in my bio, Daniela, your BFF, but it's also just call underscore me underscore back underscore podcast.
[4:42] SPEAKER_00: Um, type it in, Bestie.
[4:44] SPEAKER_00: Go to the most recent video, leave your feedback.
[4:46] SPEAKER_00: I will post that um by the time this audio gets released so we can get your opinion on that.
[4:51] SPEAKER_00: Because OMG.
[4:53] SPEAKER_00: Tell her it's girl code.
[4:54] SPEAKER_00: It's girl code.
[4:56] SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, you guys, should I just jump into the story time?
[5:01] SPEAKER_00: You know what?
[5:01] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna wait because it's juicy.
[5:04] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna wait a second because I'm like, what the heck?
[5:06] SPEAKER_00: These boys.
[5:07] SPEAKER_00: I literally said this earlier.
[5:08] SPEAKER_00: Is Audacity on sale right now?
[5:10] SPEAKER_00: Because where are the boys getting it?
[5:12] SPEAKER_00: Why do they have so much of it?
[5:14] SPEAKER_00: So I am gonna tell you a little juicy dating story time before, but before we get into that, let's just talk about girl code a little bit.
[5:22] SPEAKER_00: And how how frequent it is.
[5:27] SPEAKER_00: Like, does this ever happen to you, Bestie, where you know a girl, and then the more and you are like, oh, I like this girl, but then the more you get to know her, you're like, wait, I don't think she follows girl code.
[5:38] SPEAKER_00: I've had that happen to me a few times, and I'm not gonna lie, it's been a little bit disappointing, but I think there's something to be said for like as we get older and our friendships just unfold more.
[5:50] SPEAKER_00: Bestie, not all girls follow girl code, and it is totally a fine, it is totally fine to be aware and to realize, like, oh my gosh, I thought that this girl had my back, and she doesn't.
[6:04] SPEAKER_00: And listen, I'm not gonna make this a negative episode, we're not talking poorly on our friends.
[6:09] SPEAKER_00: What I am saying is that just in case you need this little reminder, Bestie, it is okay as you get older to realize that some friendships are not what you thought that they were, and it's not a bad thing.
[6:26] SPEAKER_00: I personally, there's a couple friendships that I have realized as I've gotten a little bit older that I think honestly they were just friends with me because I was a bit of a doormat, like a people pleaser.
[6:38] SPEAKER_00: I I tend to just have like I just want everybody to be happy, and so I tend to just like give in and be like, oh yeah, like whatever you want.
[6:46] SPEAKER_00: And now that I'm like coming into my own, I'm like, no, I actually that makes my that hurts my feelings.
[6:53] SPEAKER_00: And no, I I actually don't feel comfortable with that.
[6:56] SPEAKER_00: And it is interesting to I'll never forget.
[7:00] SPEAKER_00: Um, I had an instant, well, I shouldn't say I'll never forget, but recently I had an instance where a friend said something that hurt my feelings, and I told her about it, and I I thought that she would be like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, like I had no idea, like whatever, whatever.
[7:14] SPEAKER_00: And instead she got so mad at me and fired back at me.
[7:18] SPEAKER_00: And then as I kept just kind of observing her behavior, I thought, oh no, I actually don't think that she has my back fully.
[7:26] SPEAKER_00: And the thing about you and me, girly, is like we are good friends.
[7:30] SPEAKER_00: Nobody's perfect, we all make mistakes.
[7:32] SPEAKER_00: And I think that as a friend, it's important to be humble.
[7:35] SPEAKER_00: And like if your friend comes to you and is like, hey, you hurt my feelings, I think it's our our role to be like, first of all, I'm so sorry because I would never ever want to do anything to hurt your feelings, and then make it right, right?
[7:47] SPEAKER_00: And like that doesn't mean we have to be pushovers.
[7:49] SPEAKER_00: We could be like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry I hurt your feelings.
[7:52] SPEAKER_00: I would never want to.
[7:53] SPEAKER_00: Your feelings are so important.
[7:55] SPEAKER_00: But let me give you a little context on why I said that, which honestly, like I like when my friends give me context, it makes me feel better.
[8:02] SPEAKER_00: Because then I'm like, oh, that's why they said it.
[8:06] SPEAKER_00: That's why they said it.
[8:07] SPEAKER_00: I always love to find out more and like get a little bit more understanding.
[8:10] SPEAKER_00: So anyway, where was I going with this?
[8:13] SPEAKER_00: Um, I need a drink of water.
[8:15] SPEAKER_00: One sec.
[8:17] SPEAKER_00: I just looked outside the window and I see Jake standing there.
[8:24] SPEAKER_00: Sorry, girly pops, I needed some hydration.
[8:27] SPEAKER_00: Um so you know me, I don't edit these.
[8:30] SPEAKER_00: This is raw.
[8:32] SPEAKER_00: This is we keep it so real around here.
[8:35] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so um, I just wanted to let you know, it's okay that when you start seeing oh, I also got advice from a friend the other day.
[8:43] SPEAKER_00: She told me, she's like, when when you start seeing a friendship that you're starting to become uncomfortable with, she's like, it's okay to slowly start pulling back and like protecting your heart.
[8:56] SPEAKER_00: Like you don't have to make this dramatic exit.
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be like, oh, I noticed you're not being a girl's girl.
[9:02] SPEAKER_00: I don't want to be friends with you anymore.
[9:03] SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
[9:05] SPEAKER_00: I think it's good, like I I do think that friendships, there's something to be said for friendships that last decades.
[9:13] SPEAKER_00: Because if you have a friend that you've been friends with for a decade, I get like we all know you've probably had disagreements, arguments, fights, you've hurt each other's feelings, you've gone through rough patches.
[9:24] SPEAKER_00: I think it's beautiful when friends work through their problems together and choose to not give up on each other.
[9:31] SPEAKER_00: I think like how beautiful is that?
[9:34] SPEAKER_00: And so I'm I've never been the person that's like a fan of like, oh, cutting people off, cutting friends off.
[9:40] SPEAKER_00: That's not my thing.
[9:40] SPEAKER_00: I don't believe in that.
[9:41] SPEAKER_00: However, I mean, obviously if somebody does something drastic, yes, you have to protect yourself 100%.
[9:47] SPEAKER_00: But if you start realizing, okay, someone might not have the best interest in mind for me.
[9:52] SPEAKER_00: First of all, people go through seasons, and I think it's important to give people grace.
[9:58] SPEAKER_00: I think that in different seasons in our life, we are sometimes we're better friends because our cup is more full, so we can pour more out.
[10:05] SPEAKER_00: Or some and we're really like on top of our girl code and we always have each other's backs.
[10:10] SPEAKER_00: Or sometimes when we're going through rough seasons, we're not as good as friends to our friends as we'd like to be.
[10:16] SPEAKER_00: And that the same goes for our friends.
[10:17] SPEAKER_00: So I also think it's important to be patient.
[10:20] SPEAKER_00: But I think that no matter what, like whether your friend is going through a hard time, so she isn't as supportive as she normally is, or communicative as she normally is, or maybe she's in a great season where she's texting you all the time and you're super involved.
[10:36] SPEAKER_00: I think that no matter what, girl code should always be followed in a friendship.
[10:42] SPEAKER_00: And I think about this.
[10:43] SPEAKER_00: The other day I had a work meeting, and um I barely know this gal, and I had shared an idea like a week prior, and she implemented the idea and it was really successful.
[10:55] SPEAKER_00: And you know what I thought was so cool was in that meeting, she was like, Oh yeah, I tried this Daniela's idea, and she's like, and it worked, and it was so great.
[11:04] SPEAKER_00: And I thought, like, what a cool girls girl.
[11:06] SPEAKER_00: She definitely followed followed girl code.
[11:09] SPEAKER_00: She didn't have to give me a heads up, or like, or not a heads up, a prop, or like a shout-out.
[11:14] SPEAKER_00: She didn't have to give me my flowers, but she did, and I was like, I don't even know that girl that well, and she is a girls girl, like, way to follow girl code, didn't have to, like, what a sweetheart you are.
[11:25] SPEAKER_00: But all that to say, I think that girl code is so important no matter what.
[11:33] SPEAKER_00: And I feel like I'm low-key spilling the tea right now a little bit, but Bessie, if I'm being so honest, I feel like I was just holding back like a f smidge, but in the past like two years, I feel like I've encountered some girls that are not girls girls and don't follow girl code.
[11:49] SPEAKER_00: And I'm and I think like I think that you and I we like to see the best in people, and so it can kind of be like intense.
[12:00] SPEAKER_00: And we're like, oh shoot, that girl is not a girls girl.
[12:03] SPEAKER_00: And almost like, I don't know if this has ever happened to you, where like you almost feel bad for like thinking that.
[12:08] SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel bad.
[12:09] SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my gosh, I feel like a bad person for thinking that.
[12:13] SPEAKER_00: But then Jake, who's my logical bestie, he's like, no, this is the truth, and you need to protect your heart because you are such a girl's girl.
[12:24] SPEAKER_00: And um anyway, I also kind of just feel like I want to nudge you and give you permission, Bestie.
[12:30] SPEAKER_00: That if you find that you a life, a girl in your life that you thought was a girl's girl and followed a girl code and had your back, if you're finding out that she's not that, I want to, I just feel in my heart, sister, like I'm supposed to give you permission that you don't have to invest in that relationship at the level that you have been.
[12:49] SPEAKER_00: Like you don't have to do that anymore.
[12:51] SPEAKER_00: You don't have to put so much pressure on yourself to make that friendship work.
[12:56] SPEAKER_00: You don't have to hold it at such a high regard.
[13:00] SPEAKER_00: Like it is okay to start slowly pulling back you to protect yourself, protect your heart.
[13:09] SPEAKER_00: Like that is okay to do.
[13:11] SPEAKER_00: You don't have to keep putting yourself in that position over and over again.
[13:15] SPEAKER_00: I feel like that is specifically for for one of our girlies that's listening.
[13:20] SPEAKER_00: Um, and I feel like one of the most beautiful things that we have in this life is girl code and it is sisterhood.
[13:29] SPEAKER_00: And I feel like girl code can look like so many different things.
[13:31] SPEAKER_00: It can look like when you see a girly out in public and you see a piece of toilet paper stuck to her shoe, you tell her.
[13:38] SPEAKER_00: Or when you see another girl and she's on a date and you walk past her and you give her a compliment because you know that that's gonna make her feel so fire and also look so good in front of her date.
[13:50] SPEAKER_00: That's being a girl's girl.
[13:52] SPEAKER_00: That is that is the highest level of girl code.
[13:55] SPEAKER_00: I think like our girly earlier, who she is a girl's girl, she wants to be honest, she's just a little bit nervous of being the drama.
[14:01] SPEAKER_00: I don't blame her.
[14:02] SPEAKER_00: I get that.
[14:02] SPEAKER_00: Because let's be honest too, a girl's girl doesn't want to be the drama.
[14:05] SPEAKER_00: I think it's sweet that she's coming to us for advice, you know?
[14:09] SPEAKER_00: And I think looking out for your sisters, um, and I don't just mean like blood sisters, I mean like the girls in her life that you've that you consider your sisters.
[14:18] SPEAKER_00: I think that that is girl code.
[14:20] SPEAKER_00: I think that um not comparing yourself to other girlies.
[14:26] SPEAKER_00: I think that is girl code.
[14:28] SPEAKER_00: I had a girly in my text club today message me and she said that she was at a restaurant the other day, and she um and honestly, I I hope I'm not taking I'm hope I'm not spinning her words at all.
[14:40] SPEAKER_00: Wait, actually, let me look it up really quick, quick.
[14:43] SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, I don't want to divulge her exact text because that's girls' crow girls' code.
[14:48] SPEAKER_00: But she said something to the effect of like she was sitting at a restaurant and she saw another girly, and I I think what she might have said is like she was really beautiful and like it made her feel bad about herself, if I'm remembering the text correctly.
[15:01] SPEAKER_00: And sister, that hit me like a ton of bricks because I remember like I used to live and operate in that space where when I would see another girl, it would not it wouldn't make me feel ill-willed towards her, it made me feel terrible about myself.
[15:15] SPEAKER_00: Like I would put so much pressure on myself.
[15:17] SPEAKER_00: Like, why don't I look like her?
[15:19] SPEAKER_00: Or I wish I had hair like that or eyes like that, or had her body size, or whatever it was.
[15:26] SPEAKER_00: And something that I feel like is so for real is the thought of the presence of somebody else's beauty, somebody else's amazingness, somebody else's confidence does not take away from yours.
[15:41] SPEAKER_00: The presence of their beauty does not impact yours, does not affect yours, does not take away from yours.
[15:48] SPEAKER_00: Your beauty is your beauty.
[15:51] SPEAKER_00: No one can touch that, no one can take away from that.
[15:55] SPEAKER_00: You guys can exist beautifully together in the same room, sitting right next to each other at the restaurant.
[16:02] SPEAKER_00: And I I think it's girl code to live in that, sister.
[16:08] SPEAKER_00: Because girl code and being a girl's girl is also being kind to yourself.
[16:15] SPEAKER_00: You're the ultimate girly pop in your life, you should be the nicest to yourself.
[16:20] SPEAKER_00: And I think that there's also something to be said for I think I say that a lot, but it's true.
[16:26] SPEAKER_00: For being a girl's girl to yourself, following girls' code.
[16:30] SPEAKER_00: If you wouldn't say it to your bestie, don't you dare say it to yourself.
[16:35] SPEAKER_00: If you wouldn't look at the mirror, look and look at your bestie in the mirror and say the things that you're saying to yourself, do not say it to yourself, Bessie.
[16:43] SPEAKER_00: You need to be giving yourself the highest compliments, the best compliments.
[16:47] SPEAKER_00: Where was I going with this?
[16:49] SPEAKER_00: I don't know, but I love you and you're so pretty and you're so smart, you're so capable, you're so unstoppable.
[16:58] SPEAKER_00: Which by the way, if any of this is like speaking to you, Bestie, join my text club.
[17:04] SPEAKER_00: It's in the link in my bio and my Instagram.
[17:06] SPEAKER_00: But I love sending you texts each week, hyping you up and um reminding you who the heck you are.
[17:12] SPEAKER_00: You are that girl.
[17:15] SPEAKER_00: You really are.
[17:17] SPEAKER_00: I know a lot of times you look at another girl and you're like, oh no, she's that girl.
[17:20] SPEAKER_00: Bestie, you're that girl.
[17:22] SPEAKER_00: You'd be so surprised at how many girlies look at you during the span of a week and think, oh, I wish I had that.
[17:29] SPEAKER_00: I wish I had what she had, what she has.
[17:32] SPEAKER_00: I wish I was as smart as her.
[17:34] SPEAKER_00: I wish I was creative as her.
[17:36] SPEAKER_00: I wish I was as confident as her.
[17:37] SPEAKER_00: Bestie, you're that girl.
[17:39] SPEAKER_00: You need to believe it.
[17:41] SPEAKER_00: Um, something I want to do too before we dive into the story time is I just want to encourage you with something.
[17:46] SPEAKER_00: So um I was talking to one of my girlies yesterday about confidence, which I feel like goes hand in hand with being a girls girl, but um, I want you to be a girls girl to yourself, Bestie.
[17:59] SPEAKER_00: And she was asking, like, where do you get your confidence from?
[18:02] SPEAKER_00: And I because I used to be the most unconfident person, literally zero confidence.
[18:09] SPEAKER_00: I was in the negative.
[18:10] SPEAKER_00: I went through a lot of stuff early in my life that destroyed my confidence.
[18:15] SPEAKER_00: And I walked around through, it was honestly until I met Jake that I really just had like zero confidence.
[18:23] SPEAKER_00: And then he's such a good man, he instilled a lot of confidence in me.
[18:28] SPEAKER_00: But then where a lot of my confidence has come from has been achieving things.
[18:36] SPEAKER_00: And let me dive into this really quick because I want you to do this exercise.
[18:39] SPEAKER_00: If you feel like you're struggling with confidence a bit, um, and being kind to yourself.
[18:44] SPEAKER_00: I worked for a neuroscientist mindset coach one time, and she was saying, like, she always said, if you can accomplish something, you can accomplish it again.
[18:54] SPEAKER_00: Like once you make something happen, you can make it happen again.
[18:57] SPEAKER_00: So she would always say, write down even the small things that you accomplish that surprise you or that you feel proud of, even if they are so freaking small, write it down and look at it and meditate on it.
[19:10] SPEAKER_00: Because if you did it once, you can do it again.
[19:13] SPEAKER_00: So, Bessie, this is a quick challenge.
[19:14] SPEAKER_00: I want you to do this before you go to sleep sometime tonight, okay?
[19:18] SPEAKER_00: Just I want you to write this down.
[19:20] SPEAKER_00: I want you to write down five things that you've accomplished that you're proud of.
[19:27] SPEAKER_00: It can be something that literally you accomplished when you were 10.
[19:30] SPEAKER_00: It can be something you accomplished today.
[19:32] SPEAKER_00: It could be something that you did last week or last year that was a win.
[19:36] SPEAKER_00: It could even be something like falling in love.
[19:38] SPEAKER_00: Bestie, if you did it once, you can do it again.
[19:41] SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's you got a really good grade on something.
[19:45] SPEAKER_00: If you did it once, you can do it again.
[19:46] SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's you got a raise at work.
[19:48] SPEAKER_00: If you did it once, you can do it again.
[19:50] SPEAKER_00: Maybe you stepped out of your comfort zone to go ask a train a stranger something, even if it was just like, hey, where's the restroom?
[19:57] SPEAKER_00: If you did it once, you can do it again.
[20:00] SPEAKER_00: I want to challenge you to write down five things that you're proud of, and then look at them and out loud say, if I did XYZ once, I can do XYZ again.
[20:11] SPEAKER_00: And then step into the feeling of it.
[20:13] SPEAKER_00: So say it was like you, um, even maybe it was something like you wore something that was out of your comfort zone.
[20:20] SPEAKER_00: Like, for example, I remember I had these pair of pants that I loved, and one time I was wearing them, and my friend told me, she was like, they don't look very good on your hips because you have hip dips.
[20:30] SPEAKER_00: And I was like, oh my gosh, and it really caught me off guard.
[20:33] SPEAKER_00: And I love my friend.
[20:34] SPEAKER_00: She was just trying, she was just being like brutally honest with me.
[20:37] SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't hold it against her.
[20:39] SPEAKER_00: But I actually don't mind my hip dips.
[20:41] SPEAKER_00: It's not like I like them, but I don't I like I'm okay with them.
[20:46] SPEAKER_00: And so I remember like six months later, I wore those pants, and I thought to myself, this is a little bit out of my comfort zone, like wearing something that somebody close to me told me that didn't look good on me.
[20:56] SPEAKER_00: But like, who cares?
[20:58] SPEAKER_00: This is what I look like.
[20:59] SPEAKER_00: Why the heck would I try and hide it?
[21:02] SPEAKER_00: Why would I try and hide it?
[21:03] SPEAKER_00: This is what I look like.
[21:04] SPEAKER_00: And like maybe it's something like that.
[21:05] SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, I did it once.
[21:07] SPEAKER_00: I wore something that like maybe isn't my best look.
[21:10] SPEAKER_00: I can do it again.
[21:11] SPEAKER_00: Who cares?
[21:12] SPEAKER_00: It's about confidence, it's about feeling good.
[21:14] SPEAKER_00: It's about owning who you are and not caring.
[21:17] SPEAKER_00: Like, this is what I look like.
[21:20] SPEAKER_00: Why would I try and hide it?
[21:22] SPEAKER_00: Um, if you can do it once, you can do it again.
[21:25] SPEAKER_00: And this works for every area of your life, sis.
[21:28] SPEAKER_00: This little confidence book, boost hack, okay?
[21:31] SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know me, we're chatting on the phone right now.
[21:35] SPEAKER_00: So I don't do long apps because I know you're a busy babe.
[21:40] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you this story though, because I was like, are you kidding me?
[21:45] SPEAKER_00: Sometimes the girlies like are like, are you kidding me with these stories?
[21:48] SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, No, no, no, you don't understand.
[21:50] SPEAKER_00: I get hundreds of them.
[21:53] SPEAKER_00: My DMs, my Google form that I have you guys fill out with the stories are like, I have so many screenshots in my phone and Of these stories.
[22:01] SPEAKER_00: They are never ending.
[22:03] SPEAKER_00: Okay, Bestie, I'm gonna read you this story, okay?
[22:05] SPEAKER_00: It's from one of our girlies.
[22:06] SPEAKER_00: She says, Okay, Daniela and Besties, buckle up because I have a wild story for you.
[22:12] SPEAKER_00: P.S.
[22:13] SPEAKER_00: I'm bringing back this segment.
[22:15] SPEAKER_00: I used to call it exposed, where we expose our exes, baby.
[22:19] SPEAKER_00: But we are keeping it anonymous because we're girls, girls.
[22:22] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so our girly pop said, So I'd been with this guy for almost a year.
[22:25] SPEAKER_00: At first, he was super sweet, flowers, good morning text, the whole dream boyfriend package.
[22:30] SPEAKER_00: But around our anniversary, things started to get dot dot dot weird.
[22:34] SPEAKER_00: He suddenly became glued to his phone, always turning the screen away or putting it face down.
[22:39] SPEAKER_00: Oof, girl, red flag.
[22:41] SPEAKER_00: I tried to brush it off, but I just kept telling myself I was being paranoid.
[22:46] SPEAKER_00: But the vibe, girly, was off.
[22:49] SPEAKER_00: One weekend, he said he had to work late, which was nothing new, but then he started working late almost every other night.
[22:55] SPEAKER_00: Whenever I'd asked if I could bring him dinner, he said, No, I'm swamped, don't worry about it.
[22:59] SPEAKER_00: But I started feeling like I was dating a ghost.
[23:02] SPEAKER_00: It is spooky season.
[23:03] SPEAKER_00: The real red flag came when he posted a photo from a guy's night.
[23:08] SPEAKER_00: Oh, I hate that guy's night out.
[23:10] SPEAKER_00: Ugh.
[23:11] SPEAKER_00: But my friend noticed a girl's purse in the background.
[23:14] SPEAKER_00: Such an FBI girly.
[23:16] SPEAKER_00: She saw it on the Instagram story.
[23:18] SPEAKER_00: I just laughed it off at first, whatever.
[23:20] SPEAKER_00: But then the same purse showed up in another one of his Instagram posts.
[23:26] SPEAKER_00: Are you kidding me?
[23:27] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
[23:28] SPEAKER_00: She said this time it was at a coffee shop.
[23:31] SPEAKER_00: He claimed that he had never been to.
[23:34] SPEAKER_00: Curiosity got the best of me.
[23:35] SPEAKER_00: So one night while he was in the shower, his phone buzzed with a message from we're gonna call her Amanda.
[23:41] SPEAKER_00: I didn't open it, but the preview said, last night was amazing.
[23:45] SPEAKER_00: Can't wait to see you again.
[23:46] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
[23:47] SPEAKER_00: My heart was pounding, but I decided to play it cool.
[23:49] SPEAKER_00: For the next week, I started connecting the dots.
[23:51] SPEAKER_00: Number one, he'd get random calls and step outside to answer them.
[23:54] SPEAKER_00: Number two, he'd come home smelling like a different perfume that was not mine.
[23:59] SPEAKER_00: Number three, he even started wearing a cologne.
[24:02] SPEAKER_00: A sorry, a new cologne and nicer clothes for work.
[24:05] SPEAKER_00: Ugh.
[24:06] SPEAKER_00: I finally cracked when my best friend sent me a screenshot from Amanda's Instagram story.
[24:11] SPEAKER_00: It was a boomerang of her and my boyfriend at a rooftop bar laughing and clinking glasses, and the caption said date night with my favorite person.
[24:21] SPEAKER_00: I felt sick.
[24:21] SPEAKER_00: I confronted him that night.
[24:23] SPEAKER_00: He denied everything, of course, tried to gaslight me and saying I was overreacting.
[24:28] SPEAKER_00: Boy, what?
[24:30] SPEAKER_00: But then I showed him the screenshot and he just stared at the floor, no words just skilled all over his face.
[24:35] SPEAKER_00: I bet, buddy.
[24:36] SPEAKER_00: I broke up with him right then and there, blocked him, blocked Amanda, and honestly, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
[24:43] SPEAKER_00: I spent the next few weeks with my friends, going out, laughing, and remembering what it felt like to have fun without worrying about somebody else's lies.
[24:51] SPEAKER_00: Now, whenever I see a girl's purse in the background of a photo, I can't help but think, what is that boy up to?
[24:57] SPEAKER_00: Lesson learned.
[24:58] SPEAKER_00: Always trust your gut and never ignore the little things.
[25:01] SPEAKER_00: They might just be telling you the whole story.
[25:03] SPEAKER_00: Oh, and did I mention that Amanda is my best friend's cousin?
[25:09] SPEAKER_00: Have a great day, girly.
[25:11] SPEAKER_00: Bestie, uh, talk about girls' code.
[25:14] SPEAKER_00: Girl code, I'm sorry, but if she's your your what did she say?
[25:19] SPEAKER_00: It was.
[25:19] SPEAKER_00: Hold on, let me look.
[25:20] SPEAKER_00: I just set my phone down.
[25:21] SPEAKER_00: Was it best friend's cousin?
[25:23] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[25:24] SPEAKER_00: Okay, if you're the best for her best friend's cousin, you definitely know that that like she's dating, like that he has a girlfriend.
[25:32] SPEAKER_00: So broke girl code, not a girl's girl, OMG.
[25:36] SPEAKER_00: That is wild.
[25:38] SPEAKER_00: That is wild.
[25:39] SPEAKER_00: Um, I find like in a lot of the stories the girlies send in, there's always some sort of clue that's like the purse or the flowers or just something crazy where it's like we are Nancy Drew.
[25:53] SPEAKER_00: Don't the boys know we were raised on that?
[25:55] SPEAKER_00: Like, we were raised on John Tucker Mustang Alive and Nancy Drew.
[25:59] SPEAKER_00: We're gonna find out.
[26:00] SPEAKER_00: Like, we're we're so smart.
[26:01] SPEAKER_00: We are all Elle Woods.
[26:03] SPEAKER_00: We will put it together in the courtroom on the jury stand, like on the witness, like we will put it together.
[26:10] SPEAKER_00: Um, besties, what?
[26:13] SPEAKER_00: I love though that our girly pop said that she is just living her best life.
[26:18] SPEAKER_00: And isn't that isn't that so for real?
[26:20] SPEAKER_00: When you're when you know you're dating the wrong person or the person you're dating is doing something sus, it weighs you down.
[26:26] SPEAKER_00: Even if you love them and you're heartbroken and you're sad and you wish it was different.
[26:30] SPEAKER_00: The moment you break up with them, a weight is lifted.
[26:34] SPEAKER_00: That is what we're going for.
[26:36] SPEAKER_00: And not because we don't like men, heck no.
[26:39] SPEAKER_00: We love a good green flag guy, but you know it, sister, you can't be with the right guy while you're still with the wrong guy.
[26:47] SPEAKER_00: So we gotta break up with the guys that we know aren't right for us to make space for the right one.
[26:54] SPEAKER_00: Hmm, you know what comes to mind?
[26:55] SPEAKER_00: Have you ever seen that little meme where it's like Jesus and he's holding like a giant teddy bear behind his back, and like the girl's holding a little teddy bear, and she's saying, like, but Jesus, I want to keep this one, and he's like, No, but I have something so much better for you, and it's like a teddy bear that's like ten times bigger.
[27:11] SPEAKER_00: That's the image that comes to mind right now.
[27:13] SPEAKER_00: I know that God has someone amazing for our girly pop.
[27:18] SPEAKER_00: Spooky season is year round with these red flag chads, though, I'm telling you.
[27:23] SPEAKER_00: But there are a lot of green flag.
[27:25] SPEAKER_00: What's a name that starts with a G?
[27:27] SPEAKER_00: Not Gary.
[27:27] SPEAKER_00: I don't think green flag Gary works.
[27:30] SPEAKER_00: Green flag Garrett?
[27:31] SPEAKER_00: Green flag uh What is a guy name that starts with G?
[27:39] SPEAKER_00: Not Jared, that would be Gared.
[27:41] SPEAKER_00: Um Green Flag Gust.
[27:46] SPEAKER_00: Isn't that the name of one of the mice, the little mouses in Cinderella?
[27:51] SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
[27:52] SPEAKER_00: Girly Pop, it's been almost a whole 30 minutes of us chatting.
[27:56] SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for picking up.
[27:59] SPEAKER_00: Um, and yeah, don't don't um forget to follow so that you can be notified when the pod comes out again next week.

[28:19] SPEAKER_00: Let's make a bestie pack, pinky promise, bestie little pact, um, to stop doubting ourselves.
[28:26] SPEAKER_00: We are girls girls.
[28:27] SPEAKER_00: We follow girls' code, we are good friends, we are good sisters, we are good daughters, we are good employees, we are good boss babes, we are good girlfriends, we are good wives, we are good.
[28:42] SPEAKER_00: And Bessie, I know that sometimes life can get you down and you could feel like you're like in a in a rough season, or maybe you feel stuck.
[28:49] SPEAKER_00: But I just wanna want to remind you you're stuck for the shortest amount of time.
[28:55] SPEAKER_00: Like you're not gonna stay there.
[28:57] SPEAKER_00: Wherever you are right now, you're not gonna stay.
[29:01] SPEAKER_00: It's going to be different soon.
[29:03] SPEAKER_00: There's going to be change soon.
[29:06] SPEAKER_00: It's going to be okay.
[29:07] SPEAKER_00: You're going to make it through this season.
[29:09] SPEAKER_00: It is just temporary.
[29:10] SPEAKER_00: There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
[29:13] SPEAKER_00: There is a sunset on the horizon, Bestie.
[29:17] SPEAKER_00: It is not going to be darkness for forever.
[29:19] SPEAKER_00: The light is coming out, and it's probably going to be one of the most beautiful sunsets of your life.
[29:25] SPEAKER_00: One of the most beautiful seasons yet.
[29:28] SPEAKER_00: Because that's what God has in store for us.
[29:31] SPEAKER_00: Good things, one after the other.
[29:33] SPEAKER_00: Because that's who you are, sis.
[29:35] SPEAKER_00: You're God's daughter.
[29:37] SPEAKER_00: I know on this episode on this pod, I had someone leave me a comment the other day.
[29:40] SPEAKER_00: It made me lol.
[29:42] SPEAKER_00: Um, she said, she said, love the pod, but she talks about God too much.
[29:47] SPEAKER_00: And Bestie, I I sometimes I do because I just love you so much and I know God loves you so much.
[29:56] SPEAKER_00: And so I just can't stop yapping.
[29:58] SPEAKER_00: I just can't stop yapping about it.
[30:00] SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know that no matter what you believe, you're welcome here.
[30:04] SPEAKER_00: It's the truth.
[30:04] SPEAKER_00: I'm obsessed with you.
[30:06] SPEAKER_00: Okay, Basti, thanks for being here.
[30:08] SPEAKER_00: You're such a girl's girl.
[30:09] SPEAKER_00: I love you so much.
[30:10] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[30:11] SPEAKER_00: This has been the call me back.
[30:13] SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, I don't think I do an outro anymore because I think I edit one on.
[30:16] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[30:17] SPEAKER_00: Call me back.
[30:18] SPEAKER_00: Love you.
[30:18] SPEAKER_00: Bye.
