[0:00] SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys so much for joining.
[0:01] SPEAKER_00: We are doing the Call Me Back podcast.
[0:04] SPEAKER_00: It's relatable and motivational girl talk.
[0:07] SPEAKER_00: And really at the end of the day, it's just a time where we come together and we just have fun as girls since it's, you know, life is crazy, it's hectic, and you don't always just get to sit down, chat with your best friend, and talk about all the things that we used to talk about, you know, in high school or just even early 20s, when you're single, maybe you're in college or just doing your own career thing and you had roommates.
[0:27] SPEAKER_00: Remember those like kind of roommate dinners where it was just so chaotic, like hot mess, express, but it was it was girl time all the time, and we don't get that anymore.
[0:38] SPEAKER_00: So that's what this podcast is all about.
[0:41] SPEAKER_00: So this is Call Me Back.
[0:43] SPEAKER_00: I'm Daniela.
[0:44] SPEAKER_00: And I'm Steph.
[0:46] SPEAKER_00: And thanks for joining us.
[0:47] SPEAKER_00: So let's dive in.
[0:48] SPEAKER_02: Speaking of roommates, speaking of roommates, we should at some point do a roommate segment.
[0:56] SPEAKER_02: Because I have just in, I think, how many years was it?
[1:00] SPEAKER_02: Three years, I had almost 10 different roommates.
[1:05] SPEAKER_02: So needless to say, I have lots of roommate stories.
[1:09] SPEAKER_02: I might not have like amazing crazy date stories, but I do have roommate stories.
[1:15] SPEAKER_00: You know, I love that because I'm I'm gonna write it down actually at the top of this document, roommate stories.
[1:21] SPEAKER_00: Um, because I can remember like this one thought that I had when I was living in LA and I had a bunch of roommates, and it was like totally broke girl season, you know, like I I shared a bed, and I know you know that.
[1:38] SPEAKER_00: It was just crazy, right?
[1:39] SPEAKER_00: But I remember thinking like I would not trade this for the world.
[1:43] SPEAKER_00: There's just something about like when you get to live with other girls and just they're like they become your sisters for a season, and it's so much fun.
[1:50] SPEAKER_00: So, yes, I love that idea so much.
[1:53] SPEAKER_02: Let's do it.
[1:54] SPEAKER_02: I think part of it too, like living with other girls, that's fun, but there's something about just the idea of having roommates and you're not in your parents' house anymore, and there's like a thrill to that.
[2:08] SPEAKER_02: It's so much fun.
[2:09] SPEAKER_00: It is, and like you're just like that's the stage when you first have roommates where you're figuring everything out, and everything is such a disaster all the time.
[2:17] SPEAKER_00: Okay, wait, I am gonna stop myself from telling any of these stories right now, but I'm just they're coming to mind.
[2:24] SPEAKER_00: So, um, and hi, Whitney's here.
[2:27] SPEAKER_00: Whitney, thanks for being here.
[2:29] SPEAKER_02: Ooh, Whitney says she's got some roommate stories as well.
[2:32] SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna need we're gonna need you to share this.
[2:36] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[2:36] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, yeah, Whitney, you totally can.
[2:38] SPEAKER_00: If you wanna write something or whatever, happy to share.
[2:41] SPEAKER_00: Um oh my gosh.
[2:44] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[2:44] SPEAKER_00: Can you tell?
[2:45] SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to be here.
[2:47] SPEAKER_00: Um well, let's just let's just jump in with a few things.
[2:53] SPEAKER_00: Did you have a good day today, Steph?
[2:55] SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
[2:56] SPEAKER_02: I had such a crazy day.
[3:01] SPEAKER_00: What was the craziest thing?
[3:04] SPEAKER_02: I think the craziest thing is just my my days when I'm working all day go so fast and still at the end of the day, I feel like I need more time.
[3:17] SPEAKER_02: Like when um Wednesdays for me, I know it's Thursday today, but Wednesdays for me are back to back to back to back meetings.
[3:26] SPEAKER_02: Like I think I'm in meetings from 10 a.m.
[3:30] SPEAKER_02: all the way up until 5 or 6 p.m.
[3:33] SPEAKER_02: It's just meetings with like maybe a little half hour break in there to do actual like work from those meetings.
[3:43] SPEAKER_02: But it's almost like Wednesdays a wash, and then I kind of have to catch up on Thursdays.
[3:47] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[3:48] SPEAKER_02: So that's yeah, I'm honestly a little frazzled.
[3:51] SPEAKER_02: Relatable girl talk.
[3:53] SPEAKER_02: I'm like exhausted and and uh um tired.
[3:58] SPEAKER_00: So okay, have you done any like hot mess express things like in the midst of that?
[4:04] SPEAKER_00: For example, the other day we were looking for our car key, and I was like, I didn't have it, you know me.
[4:10] SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I I forget things a little too often, but I literally found it in the fridge, and that was like a hot mess express thing for me.
[4:19] SPEAKER_00: Like when you have crazy days like that, do you accidentally do anything crazy?
[4:25] SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I accidentally do anything crazy, but literally probably an hour ago, I was like, oh, I need to, I was in the kitchen and I was thinking, oh, I have this thing over there on the other side of the room that I need to go grab, my dongle for my computer.
[4:38] SPEAKER_02: I was and literally as I was walking over there, I took like four steps, and then I completely forgot what I was doing.
[4:47] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[4:48] SPEAKER_02: And I was like, why did I come in here?
[4:50] SPEAKER_02: I could not for the life of me remember.
[4:52] SPEAKER_02: And so I just had to keep going.
[4:54] SPEAKER_02: And then I finally remembered like five minutes later, oh, I was looking for my dongles, so I went to go look for it.
[4:59] SPEAKER_02: But um yeah, like hot mess express brain.
[5:03] SPEAKER_02: I forget things.
[5:05] SPEAKER_02: Um what else?
[5:07] SPEAKER_02: I've been okay.
[5:09] SPEAKER_02: Here's my most hot mess express.
[5:12] SPEAKER_02: I'm exposing myself right now.
[5:14] SPEAKER_02: Um I don't like to wash and do my hair very much.
[5:18] SPEAKER_02: It's so I'm so with you.
[5:21] SPEAKER_02: I my hair is like the amount of buildup of dry shampoo is unmatched to any female, I think.
[5:31] SPEAKER_02: Um, hence the beanie.
[5:33] SPEAKER_02: So, you know, that's my hot mess express.
[5:36] SPEAKER_00: That's what beanies are for.
[5:37] SPEAKER_00: Do you have like enough um what's it called, dry shampoo in your head to like make like a fake snow globe?
[5:44] SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm talking about?
[5:45] SPEAKER_02: Oh, 100%.
[5:46] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've I've got I got snowflakes up there at the scalp.
[5:50] SPEAKER_02: Funny.
[5:51] SPEAKER_02: Okay, I've got dry shampoo.
[5:53] SPEAKER_02: I have it right here.
[5:54] SPEAKER_00: Oh, you do?
[5:55] SPEAKER_00: So I keep it on hand, you know, everywhere.
[5:58] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so question what brand is it?
[6:00] SPEAKER_00: Because I don't have a brand that I like.
[6:02] SPEAKER_02: Okay, I love this brand.
[6:05] SPEAKER_02: I found it randomly at Costco in a two-pack, and then they only have it like once or twice a year.
[6:10] SPEAKER_02: Every time I see it, I always get it.
[6:11] SPEAKER_02: It's the Eva NYC.
[6:15] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[6:16] SPEAKER_02: Cute.
[6:17] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's and it smells like it smells like a unicorn.
[6:23] SPEAKER_00: Oh, say that.
[6:25] SPEAKER_02: It smells so good.
[6:26] SPEAKER_00: I love the way unicorns smell.
[6:28] SPEAKER_02: It smells kind of like that deodorant that I turned you on to.
[6:33] SPEAKER_00: And that brand is, is that brand Truly?
[6:36] SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
[6:36] SPEAKER_00: That is so good.
[6:37] SPEAKER_00: That and it's like uh organic, right?
[6:40] SPEAKER_00: Or like it's aluminum-free.
[6:42] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so any girlies out there who are like, I need a healthy deodorant, but I feel like most healthy deodorants don't work.
[6:48] SPEAKER_00: The one by Truly is so good.
[6:51] SPEAKER_00: It smells like cotton candy and vanilla mixed together.
[6:54] SPEAKER_00: I just tried, I got native.
[6:56] SPEAKER_00: Have you heard of native?
[6:58] SPEAKER_00: So they have a vanilla buttercream one.
[7:01] SPEAKER_00: And I've been using that, and it just smells, it smells like a cupcake, and it's really good.
[7:07] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[7:08] SPEAKER_00: Um speaking of Hot Mess Express, I wrote down some things that like I've done lately that are just Hot Mess Express.
[7:18] SPEAKER_00: And I know one of them you and I do all the time.
[7:22] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so you know you're a hot mess express when you still get Starbucks on the way to the airport, even though your flight takes off in 30 minutes.
[7:32] SPEAKER_02: Or even after even if you have to be at work five minutes ago.
[7:37] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[7:38] SPEAKER_00: Always need a little Starbeast to get you through.
[7:41] SPEAKER_00: Um okay.
[7:44] SPEAKER_00: I feel like every girl's done this at some point.
[7:46] SPEAKER_00: You forget you're on your period and you just forget to change your tampon, and then you're like, okay, this this is where I need to draw the line.
[7:53] SPEAKER_00: This is Hot Mess Express.
[7:55] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna end up in the ER if I don't like Okay.
[7:57] SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna, I'm gonna we're gonna get off at a stop on the Hot Mess Express right now because I have something that I think will change your life.
[8:04] SPEAKER_02: What?
[8:05] SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't use tampons anymore.
[8:08] SPEAKER_02: What do you use?
[8:09] SPEAKER_02: I use the little discs.
[8:11] SPEAKER_02: You can leave in there for 12 hours.
[8:15] SPEAKER_02: Wait, how do what I mean?
[8:17] SPEAKER_02: A disc?
[8:18] SPEAKER_02: What's it what is it?
[8:19] SPEAKER_02: How does it work?
[8:21] SPEAKER_02: It's like a little cup, but it's not a it's not the cup kind, like a diva cup.
[8:25] SPEAKER_02: It's not that.
[8:26] SPEAKER_02: It's like a little disc, like this, like that, and then you like squish it.
[8:32] SPEAKER_02: Anyway, it's amazing.
[8:34] SPEAKER_02: I'll send it to you.
[8:34] SPEAKER_00: Can can you tell me what it's called?
[8:36] SPEAKER_00: I want to like get a visual on it really quick.
[8:38] SPEAKER_00: Flex.
[8:39] SPEAKER_00: Flex.
[8:40] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I honestly I don't know if I'm living under a rock, but I didn't even know that that kind of thing existed.
[8:48] SPEAKER_00: Oh.
[8:49] SPEAKER_00: It's incredible.
[8:51] SPEAKER_00: Really?
[8:52] SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't it doesn't pop out?
[8:55] SPEAKER_00: What?
[8:56] SPEAKER_00: That is so crazy.
[8:58] SPEAKER_00: Are you scared that you'll lose it up inside?
[9:00] SPEAKER_00: No.
[9:01] SPEAKER_00: No.
[9:01] SPEAKER_00: Really?
[9:03] SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
[9:04] SPEAKER_00: Okay, cool.
[9:04] SPEAKER_00: I need to learn more about this.
[9:06] SPEAKER_00: This is very interesting.
[9:09] SPEAKER_00: We'll talk offline about it.
[9:11] SPEAKER_00: We'll talk offline about it.
[9:14] SPEAKER_00: Um oh, this one made my husband very mad.
[9:19] SPEAKER_00: I accidentally used his toothbrush and I didn't realize it was his.
[9:24] SPEAKER_00: And he went to go brush his teeth, and is he's like, Why is my toothbrush wet?
[9:28] SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, I don't know, and then I went and felt mine and it was dry, and I had just brushed my teeth, so that's pretty gross.
[9:35] SPEAKER_00: I don't like, I know some people are down to share toothbrushes.
[9:38] SPEAKER_00: I don't like that.
[9:39] SPEAKER_00: That's not my thing.
[9:42] SPEAKER_02: The only way I'll share a toothbrush is if okay, so you know the boiling when you boil a toothbrush?
[9:49] SPEAKER_02: I would do that.
[9:50] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[9:51] SPEAKER_02: You, you know, boil it in hot water.
[9:55] SPEAKER_02: Or soak it in boiling water until you know, for the germs and stuff.
[9:58] SPEAKER_02: Like if I was in a dire situation, I would do that.
[10:02] SPEAKER_00: I would do that too, and I do think it would have to be dire.
[10:06] SPEAKER_00: Um, Whitney said she had an ex do that with hers from us.
[10:10] SPEAKER_00: Did you know that he was using your toothbrush?
[10:12] SPEAKER_00: Or um did you did he tell you later?
[10:17] SPEAKER_00: That makes me a little ill.
[10:19] SPEAKER_00: Because I actually was just reading this thing that toothbrushes have more bacteria on them like than even toilets do.
[10:27] SPEAKER_00: And that's disgusting.
[10:29] SPEAKER_00: You know, like we literally thought the same toothbrush was our own.
[10:32] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, that is disgusting.
[10:36] SPEAKER_00: Ew, ew, ew, ew.
[10:38] SPEAKER_02: That reminds me, that reminds me of New Girl.
[10:41] SPEAKER_02: Wait, is it New Girl?
[10:42] SPEAKER_02: When they share, when they all think no, maybe it's friends.
[10:48] SPEAKER_02: Or no, yes, New Girl.
[10:50] SPEAKER_02: The towel.
[10:51] SPEAKER_02: Okay and the towel.
[10:54] SPEAKER_02: But then the toothbrush thing is friends.
[10:58] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[10:58] SPEAKER_02: Oh I'm sorted, I know.
[11:01] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so speaking of new girl and friends, um, I love New Girl.
[11:06] SPEAKER_00: Did you know that about me?
[11:07] SPEAKER_00: Because it's a newer thing.
[11:08] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[11:09] SPEAKER_02: And I'm New like in the past couple years, right?
[11:12] SPEAKER_00: Yes, exactly.
[11:14] SPEAKER_00: Um, but I know that you love friends, and I've actually never really seen friends, and I've been wanting to make it a point lately that I like want to get really into it.
[11:24] SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think New Girl is like one of the best shows of all time.
[11:27] SPEAKER_00: I could watch it over and over again.
[11:29] SPEAKER_00: Same way.
[11:30] SPEAKER_02: I love New Girl.
[11:31] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[11:31] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, and I know I've told you this, but you and CeCe, there's not a day, like there's not an episode that goes by where I like don't see Cece and I think of you.
[11:40] SPEAKER_00: Uh you guys just remind me so much of each other.
[11:43] SPEAKER_00: I feel like you guys look alike.
[11:45] SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, it's it's crazy.
[11:47] SPEAKER_00: Your mannerisms and stuff, but I love that show.
[11:50] SPEAKER_02: Um and I every time you've told me that, I think I've said that that is like one of the biggest compliments I can do.
[11:57] SPEAKER_00: Of course.
[11:58] SPEAKER_00: It's such a compliment.
[12:00] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[12:00] SPEAKER_00: She's she's cute.
[12:02] SPEAKER_00: I like her.
[12:02] SPEAKER_00: I love her.
[12:04] SPEAKER_00: Um, oh my gosh, this is Hot Mess Express.
[12:08] SPEAKER_00: I did this the other day.
[12:09] SPEAKER_00: I was out at a restaurant with my husband and one of his friends, and um I they were like those cargo pants that are like camouflage cargo pants, and I felt something like weird on my side, and I was like, what is that?
[12:25] SPEAKER_00: And I literally reach in my pants, I pull out a pair of dirty underwear that was literally stuck in my pants, and then I was just like in this restaurant bar with a pair of dirty underwear in my hand, and I didn't bring a purse, I just had a fanny pack, so I stuffed it in there, and I was like, This is this is disgusting.
[12:42] SPEAKER_00: Who am I?
[12:44] SPEAKER_00: Um but it's just it's just hot mess express, it's how you live sometimes, you know.
[12:49] SPEAKER_02: I feel like girls have a hard time admitting that they have hot mess express stuff.
[12:56] SPEAKER_02: Like, especially when it comes to like hygiene.
[13:00] SPEAKER_02: Like, ladies, let's be real.
[13:02] SPEAKER_02: We don't always feel like showering.
[13:04] SPEAKER_02: No, I'll just leave it at that.
[13:07] SPEAKER_02: You know, that's that's why wipes were invented.
[13:10] SPEAKER_02: That's why we have perfume.
[13:12] SPEAKER_02: That's true.
[13:14] SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
[13:15] SPEAKER_00: We can't be the only ones.
[13:17] SPEAKER_00: No.
[13:17] SPEAKER_00: Um, speaking of perfume, have you ever smelled baccarat rouge?
[13:22] SPEAKER_00: I have.
[13:23] SPEAKER_00: Is it good?
[13:25] SPEAKER_02: Um, it's a little strong for my taste.
[13:28] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[13:29] SPEAKER_02: It's very rich and very but it it's I have a sample of it if you want me to smell it.
[13:35] SPEAKER_02: Oh, really?
[13:36] SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
[13:36] SPEAKER_00: I would be interested.
[13:37] SPEAKER_00: I've heard, so I'm sure you've seen alt fragrances because their ads are everywhere.
[13:41] SPEAKER_00: It's very similar.
[13:43] SPEAKER_00: And I'm wondering, like, I've never smelled it, and so I'm like, hmm, I don't know.
[13:48] SPEAKER_00: Everybody just says that Baccarat Rouge is amazing, or at least I shouldn't say that.
[13:52] SPEAKER_00: The ads say that it's amazing, but of course the ads say it's amazing, but that their dupe is good.
[13:57] SPEAKER_00: I almost brought bought the dupe on Black Friday, but I have a confession to make to you.
[14:02] SPEAKER_00: I don't want you to be mad at me.
[14:04] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[14:06] SPEAKER_00: I didn't buy the necklace.
[14:09] SPEAKER_00: I didn't buy the necklace.
[14:12] SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm kind of sad about it.
[14:13] SPEAKER_00: I'm having Black Friday remorse.
[14:16] SPEAKER_00: Like there were a few things that I really wanted to get.
[14:19] SPEAKER_00: One was that necklace, one was an alt fragrance.
[14:22] SPEAKER_00: Um, and I just, I don't know, I've been having a really hard time pressing the shop now button lately.
[14:29] SPEAKER_00: Um so I'm kind of sad.
[14:32] SPEAKER_00: Like I am feeling down.
[14:33] SPEAKER_00: I found myself today too, like Googling brands that still have Cyber Monday sales because I just feel like I I feel like I missed out on a few things that I didn't want to miss out on, but um Well now it's like it's turned into like Cyber Week.
[14:48] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[14:48] SPEAKER_02: Like so many of these companies are doing Cyber Week deals.
[14:51] SPEAKER_02: But okay, I have like a crazy cool fragrance hack.
[14:56] SPEAKER_02: Oh.
[14:57] SPEAKER_02: That I that we've never talked about, that I've never shared with you.
[15:01] SPEAKER_02: Well, what is it?
[15:02] SPEAKER_02: So I I think I told you, but I don't remember.
[15:06] SPEAKER_02: I've been like super into high-end fragrances lately.
[15:10] SPEAKER_02: Lately in like the past year or two, and I've only pulled the trigger on one fragrance, and actually I didn't even buy it for myself.
[15:21] SPEAKER_02: Winston bought it for me.
[15:23] SPEAKER_02: Um I actually have it right here because I was gonna use it several weeks ago for um for the even if I'm broke, and then we didn't do that.
[15:31] SPEAKER_02: But this is what it's called.
[15:35] SPEAKER_02: It's Wilhelm Dear Polly.
[15:38] SPEAKER_02: It's like a rainy Saturday in London.
[15:42] SPEAKER_02: That's what I feel that's what I feel like when I wear it.
[15:45] SPEAKER_02: But all that to say, so the reason I found this is because I got a crap ton of samples from this one website, like high-end, you know, five dollar samples that you can buy of different fragrances.
[16:00] SPEAKER_02: They have this little fragrance matcher that you can put your favorite in, and then it'll tell you, it'll give you like suggestions, like, hey, you would like this, this, and this.
[16:09] SPEAKER_02: And then you can buy the samples.
[16:11] SPEAKER_02: So I bought a bunch of samples, figure out what I like, warm a lot, and then I didn't like have to blind buy a fragrance that I ended up hating.
[16:22] SPEAKER_00: I love that, and I feel like that's why I don't have any fragrances right now because I exactly that.
[16:28] SPEAKER_00: I don't I don't want to buy something online, and like everything I buy is online, and I don't want to not like it.
[16:34] SPEAKER_00: Do you remember the name of the website?
[16:36] SPEAKER_00: It's called Twisted Lily.
[16:38] SPEAKER_00: Twisted Lily.
[16:39] SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, that is so cool.
[16:42] SPEAKER_02: I love that.
[16:43] SPEAKER_02: So I did Twisted Lily and then I went on this rabbit hole on on social media, like fragrance talk, and um I found more websites that you can get like bigger samples from.
[16:57] SPEAKER_02: So instead of like the teeny tiny ones, you can get like a couple different sizes that are still way cheaper than buying the full bottle, but you can try multiple things.
[17:08] SPEAKER_00: So I love that.
[17:09] SPEAKER_00: Um, there's so many beautiful looking scents on here.
[17:14] SPEAKER_00: Um, one of my favorite parts when we went to Disney World when we went to Epcot was going to France and going to that perfume shop with you.
[17:21] SPEAKER_00: That was so fun.
[17:23] SPEAKER_02: That was so much fun, and I want that fragrance.
[17:26] SPEAKER_02: I'm actually, I need to write it down because I wanted to get a sample of that.
[17:30] SPEAKER_02: Of which one interested Lily.
[17:32] SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, of that one to wear.
[17:34] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of the one that she was like, you should try this one.
[17:37] SPEAKER_02: Like I sprayed myself with that other one.
[17:39] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[17:40] SPEAKER_02: But then she was like, No, you need to try this one.
[17:43] SPEAKER_02: And then I loved that one.
[17:44] SPEAKER_00: So yeah, that was so much fun.
[17:46] SPEAKER_00: I I I don't know why.
[17:48] SPEAKER_00: That was like one of my favorite highlights of the day.
[17:51] SPEAKER_00: It felt so authentic to like they were they were actually from France, so it felt so cool.
[17:57] SPEAKER_00: Um, wow, that is the coolest fragrance hack.
[17:59] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it's twisted lily.
[18:02] SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna get into exposed.
[18:06] SPEAKER_00: Are we ready?
[18:07] SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
[18:08] SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
[18:10] SPEAKER_00: Okay, I could share the story of how I exposed my ex for cheating on me, lol, but instead I'm going to do something a little bit more lighthearted and expose what I started doing once I actually found out that he had been cheating on me.
[18:24] SPEAKER_00: So I had suspected that he was cheating, but I hadn't confronted him yet because I knew he would deny it.
[18:30] SPEAKER_00: And I felt like I needed some time to gather proof so he couldn't deny it and gaslight me.
[18:36] SPEAKER_00: So in the meantime, while I was being an FBI agent trying to gather the evidence, I found a little way to get even.
[18:44] SPEAKER_00: One of the things I would do was help him pack for his business trip.
[18:47] SPEAKER_00: So once I found out that his business trips at the time were not actually so business-y at all, I would actually save his dirty underwear when I was doing the laundry.
[18:58] SPEAKER_00: And then when it came time for me to pack for him, I would just neatly fold his dirty underwear and I would put it in his suitcase.
[19:06] SPEAKER_00: That way I knew that whether he was actually on a business trip or he was just actually getting into shady business, his underwear would be dirty and smelly.
[19:18] SPEAKER_00: This went on for months, and to this day, he still doesn't know.
[19:22] SPEAKER_00: I definitely could have done something way worse to get even for what he did to me, but I did not want to end up on a true crime podcast, lol.
[19:33] SPEAKER_00: So it turns out that his tidy whities weren't so clean after all.
[19:38] SPEAKER_00: That's funny.
[19:39] SPEAKER_00: That is so hilarious.
[19:41] SPEAKER_00: This sounds like my kind of girl.
[19:42] SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I would do.
[19:45] SPEAKER_00: Like, and you know what?
[19:46] SPEAKER_00: I yeah, I was actually gonna ask you, like, that seems pretty innocent and like good for her because I feel like she could have done so many other things.
[19:56] SPEAKER_00: Like, what are some other things she could have done to get even?
[20:01] SPEAKER_02: Well, first, I just have to say that is exactly how I would react.
[20:07] SPEAKER_02: I I feel like I would be so strategic, gather as much intel as I could so that there's no way he could like she said, deny it or gaslight her.
[20:19] SPEAKER_02: So props to her.
[20:20] SPEAKER_02: That's like that type of self-control is super, it's like leverage for you when you're confronting a cheater.
[20:31] SPEAKER_02: So I'm super proud of her for doing that.
[20:34] SPEAKER_02: What would I have done?
[20:35] SPEAKER_02: Oh wow.
[20:37] SPEAKER_00: Whitney says ditching powder in the undies, just take it to a whole new level.
[20:41] SPEAKER_00: I love that.
[20:42] SPEAKER_02: I would do like fart spray on the pants or something.
[20:47] SPEAKER_02: Ooh, I love that.
[20:49] SPEAKER_02: That's so gross.
[20:50] SPEAKER_02: That's great.
[20:51] SPEAKER_02: Or like um put something in his shoes, like smelly spray in the shoes.
[20:57] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just make them smell everywhere.
[21:00] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[21:01] SPEAKER_02: Or like switch up what can you put in shampoo that's ooh.
[21:05] SPEAKER_02: Balding.
[21:06] SPEAKER_02: Balding, rogueine.
[21:08] SPEAKER_00: Is that what it's called?
[21:08] SPEAKER_00: Rogaine?
[21:09] SPEAKER_00: Did I just make that up?
[21:10] SPEAKER_00: No, that's what you put in to grow it back.
[21:12] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[21:12] SPEAKER_00: Nair.
[21:13] SPEAKER_00: Are you thinking of Nair?
[21:14] SPEAKER_00: Nair, Nair.
[21:16] SPEAKER_00: The less you wear, the more you need Nair.
[21:20] SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
[21:21] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[21:22] SPEAKER_00: Um whole suitcase of fart spray.
[21:25] SPEAKER_00: Ooh, I love it.
[21:26] SPEAKER_00: So gross and so good.
[21:28] SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, and I feel like, okay, so she could have like maybe taken his toothbrush, cleaned the toilet.
[21:34] SPEAKER_00: I feel like that would have been pretty spicy.
[21:37] SPEAKER_00: Or clean the dog's teeth.
[21:38] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if she has a dog, but she can brush the dog's teeth.
[21:41] SPEAKER_02: Ooh, that's a good one.
[21:43] SPEAKER_02: Also, I feel like I feel like she could have done a lot more for herself.
[21:47] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[21:48] SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, I don't know if he I don't know their financial situation or if he's got money.
[21:57] SPEAKER_02: It sounds like he's got some sort of job that he tried.
[22:00] SPEAKER_02: Travels, you know, maybe get some get a little shopping spree out of it.
[22:06] SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know.
[22:08] SPEAKER_00: Max out that Amex, baby.
[22:10] SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you have the evidence, if you've got the proof, that's what I would be doing.
[22:15] SPEAKER_00: I'd be going to Gucci.
[22:17] SPEAKER_00: Um total side note.
[22:22] SPEAKER_00: I went to I went to Sunglass Hut today, and I was really excited because I've wanted these sunglasses for a while.
[22:29] SPEAKER_00: They're Ray-Bans.
[22:31] SPEAKER_00: And I was just really excited to get them.
[22:36] SPEAKER_00: And the gal who worked there was less than kind.
[22:41] SPEAKER_00: And um I didn't end up getting them.
[22:45] SPEAKER_00: And I I was just thinking of our conversation last, was it last week, about how like how your words are just so powerful.
[22:54] SPEAKER_00: And how like the smallest thing can just like I wasn't set off or anything, but the smallest thing can kind of like you make you feel a certain way or make you like I started I'm I'm on my period, so maybe that's why I started getting a little emotional, but I was like, oh my gosh, this is kind of crazy.
[23:09] SPEAKER_00: How like we were talking about how like a complete stranger can can say something intentionally or not intentionally and can totally rattle you.
[23:18] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[23:18] SPEAKER_00: Um, but it made me just think of our convo, which this was a complete accident, but that perfectly segues into our next story.
[23:28] SPEAKER_00: So I think I just need to go for it.
[23:30] SPEAKER_00: I was gonna keep talking about the lady with the undies, but um Well, I will say, yeah, to wrap up what you were saying, yeah.
[23:38] SPEAKER_02: I if I know that I can get that item somewhere else, I'm gonna go to someone who's gonna be nice to me.
[23:45] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[23:46] SPEAKER_02: That's what I was thinking.
[23:47] SPEAKER_02: Like how you always say, like, people hire you for your energy.
[23:50] SPEAKER_02: I shop places for their customer service.
[23:54] SPEAKER_02: Like if you have you had bad customer service, I know I can get that somewhere else.
[24:00] SPEAKER_02: And I don't want to get it from you that badly.
[24:02] SPEAKER_02: Unless you're getting nice.
[24:04] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, totally.
[24:04] SPEAKER_00: It made me, and then I started thinking about it.
[24:06] SPEAKER_00: I'm like, why I didn't buy it?
[24:08] SPEAKER_00: Because I just exactly I didn't want to like give her my business.
[24:11] SPEAKER_00: And then I started feeling bad because I'm like, what if she's having a bad day?
[24:14] SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I don't know.
[24:16] SPEAKER_00: But um, I know exactly what you mean.
[24:19] SPEAKER_00: Um okay, and poll.
[24:22] SPEAKER_00: I want to take a quick poll.
[24:24] SPEAKER_00: Would you have taken it further and done something worse than just folding your cheating husband's dirty underwear and putting it in his suitcase?
[24:36] SPEAKER_00: Would you have done that or would you have done something worse?
[24:39] SPEAKER_00: So this segues perfectly into the next one.
[24:43] SPEAKER_00: This is Am I the Drama?
[24:44] SPEAKER_00: So the other day, I order a coffee per usual.
[24:47] SPEAKER_00: I always get a caramel latte without fail.
[24:51] SPEAKER_00: This day, I happen to be on my period.
[24:54] SPEAKER_00: My husband and my son were really on my nerves, and I just needed like five minutes to myself to drink a latte to and to just be me for a second.
[25:03] SPEAKER_00: I was borderline gonna have a Menti B by the time I got there because one of my babies is teething and I was just about to lose my sh.
[25:13] SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I ordered a head on mobile, I walked in, I got my latte, I got in the car, and I was so excited to take my first sip and just have that first sip feeling.
[25:26] SPEAKER_00: And the unimaginable happened.
[25:29] SPEAKER_00: Bam! There was no caramel in it.
[25:32] SPEAKER_00: It was just a plain latte.
[25:35] SPEAKER_00: I know I was feeling a little bit emotional, but I started to tear because it was just like the last straw for me.
[25:41] SPEAKER_00: So I mustered up the courage to walk back in.
[25:44] SPEAKER_00: I hate complaining, so this was really uncomfortable for me, but I just really wanted my caramel latte.
[25:49] SPEAKER_00: So I patiently waited by the pickup bar, and finally, I just had to interject myself because it was so slammed.
[25:56] SPEAKER_00: So I politely asked, I said, Can I please get a few pumps of caramel in this?
[26:00] SPEAKER_00: And the barista girl rudely responded, Can't you see I'm busy?
[26:06] SPEAKER_00: Without even a second to think, something came over me.
[26:09] SPEAKER_00: I threw my drink down on the bar, it got everywhere.
[26:12] SPEAKER_00: And I actually didn't mean to do that.
[26:14] SPEAKER_00: I was just trying to be a little dramatic and slam it down on the bar, but I set it down and it went everywhere.
[26:19] SPEAKER_00: I mean, splashed over the entire counter.
[26:22] SPEAKER_00: I ran out, I was so embarrassed.
[26:24] SPEAKER_00: But honestly, why was she so rude?
[26:26] SPEAKER_00: I asked nicely, I wasn't pushy.
[26:29] SPEAKER_00: I want to say she's the drama because I would never be rude to a stranger like that, but I'm the one that threw a latte and made an entire mess on the coffee bar.
[26:38] SPEAKER_00: Like I was in some dramatic episode of Vanderpump Rules or something.
[26:42] SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I never got my Karma latte and I cried slash had spurts of laughing the entire way home because I just I felt like that was just so crazy and weird that I even did that.
[26:54] SPEAKER_00: But anyway, am I the drama?
[26:59] SPEAKER_00: I want to say no because I can kind of like relate to that where you I feel like it's it's hit or miss because sometimes you ask, like, hey, can I get a few more pumps of caramel or whatever?
[27:11] SPEAKER_00: And sometimes they're really nice.
[27:13] SPEAKER_00: And they're like, yeah, sure.
[27:14] SPEAKER_00: Or like, can you wait a second?
[27:15] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no problem.
[27:16] SPEAKER_00: But sometimes they're rude and it makes me frustrated when they're rude because it's like, I know I asked nicely, I paid for the caramel in my drink, and I'm being nice about it.
[27:28] SPEAKER_00: So why wouldn't you want to just take a second to put some more caramel in?
[27:34] SPEAKER_00: And I feel like this girl, I don't know her, but I feel like her intention wasn't to just walk in and like be crazy.
[27:41] SPEAKER_00: I feel like she was just about to snap, and that was just her reaction.
[27:46] SPEAKER_00: And sometimes you just can't help it.
[27:48] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[27:49] SPEAKER_02: No, I definitely think the barista is the drama.
[27:53] SPEAKER_02: I mean, she's she's getting paid to wait on people.
[27:58] SPEAKER_02: That's what you're job, you know?
[28:01] SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
[28:02] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she's getting paid to be nice.
[28:03] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she's literally getting paid to make your coffee and to fix your coffee like the way you ordered it.
[28:09] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[28:10] SPEAKER_00: So I no.
[28:11] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[28:12] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[28:13] SPEAKER_00: Do you if somebody makes your coffee wrong, do you and you're like, and you really had your heart set on it, do you go ask them to change it?
[28:20] SPEAKER_00: Or do you just yeah?
[28:22] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[28:23] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do.
[28:24] SPEAKER_02: I agree.
[28:25] SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm I'm spending my money on this, especially let's be real, when back in the day when you would like spend the only six dollars you had in your bank account on Starbucks.
[28:38] SPEAKER_02: Hello, yes, we would do that.
[28:40] SPEAKER_02: Like, if I'm gonna spend the six the only six dollars I have in my bank account on a Starbucks drink, it is going to be exactly the way I like it.
[28:49] SPEAKER_00: For sure.
[28:50] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I yeah, I couldn't agree more.
[28:52] SPEAKER_00: And like when I used to work at Starbees, when I would have somebody, like more than not, when people would ask for a correction or a remake, they were really rude about it.
[29:02] SPEAKER_00: So when I got the person that was asking nicely, I was like relieved.
[29:05] SPEAKER_00: I was like, Yeah, yes, I will totally remake that for you or whatever, because I was like, Yeah, thank God, somebody nice.
[29:14] SPEAKER_00: Um that made me just think of.
[29:17] SPEAKER_00: I remember back in the day I was so broke, and I would always spend my money on Starbees, and you know what happened?
[29:25] SPEAKER_00: I just remember when you said that.
[29:27] SPEAKER_00: I would like go to Starbucks and I only had a debit card, so I would use the debit card, and then I would automatically, it was like routine, I would get a text from Chase Bank saying, You've overdrawn five dollars and seventy-four cents or whatever it was.
[29:40] SPEAKER_00: And I remember thinking, like, I'm about to go in here and I know I'm gonna get that text, but it didn't stop me.
[29:46] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[29:47] SPEAKER_02: Well, the I think okay, back to the drama thing.
[29:51] SPEAKER_02: I feel like if you've ever worked in a like a customer service or food service or retail where you're helping people, there's kind of like a secret society not a secret society, but like there's an understanding of exactly what you just said of it's okay to ask for something different, but it's all in how you ask for it.
[30:14] SPEAKER_02: Like understand that I'm not trying to inconvenience you, but I did pay for this and I would like this.
[30:22] SPEAKER_02: And it's a hundred percent the way that you treat people and the way that you ask people.
[30:27] SPEAKER_02: 100%.
[30:28] SPEAKER_00: Totally.
[30:30] SPEAKER_02: And I feel like working in those industries has helped me figure out like I know how that person wants to be communicated to.
[30:37] SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna give them the respect while still asking for what I want and I paid for.
[30:43] SPEAKER_02: Like everyone can be happy, it's okay.
[30:46] SPEAKER_00: Totally.
[30:47] SPEAKER_00: I cannot agree more.
[30:49] SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think something that frustrates me a little bit is when I go up to them and I ask really nice, like, hey, I I often apologize too.
[30:56] SPEAKER_00: I'm like, hey, I'm sorry, I don't mean to what I usually say, honestly, is I say, hey, I'm sorry, don't mean to be a pain in the ass, but would you mind?
[31:04] SPEAKER_00: And I ask really nicely.
[31:05] SPEAKER_00: But then when I ask so nicely and they're rude, that makes me feel I get infuriated because it's like, I know that these other people are not asking you nicely, so why are you getting mad at me?
[31:14] SPEAKER_00: But um, you know, it's just how it goes sometimes.
[31:18] SPEAKER_00: Um I forgot to bring a drink today.
[31:20] SPEAKER_00: I'm so dehydrated.
[31:21] SPEAKER_00: Did you bring one?
[31:22] SPEAKER_00: I did.
[31:23] SPEAKER_00: Ooh, what is that?
[31:24] SPEAKER_00: I can't really tell.
[31:25] SPEAKER_02: These are so good.
[31:28] SPEAKER_02: Every single person that's over 21 needs to try these.
[31:34] SPEAKER_02: They're you know the you know the Simply, like the Simpli brand of orange juice and lemonade.
[31:39] SPEAKER_02: Okay.
[31:40] SPEAKER_02: So they have this thing called Simply Spiked, and they have um peach.
[31:45] SPEAKER_02: So they have the Simply Spiked Lemonades, but then they have a separate Simply Spiked that's peach.
[31:51] SPEAKER_02: And then this is a strawberry peach.
[31:54] SPEAKER_02: And they have different like watermelon peach or blueberry or whatever else.
[32:01] SPEAKER_02: It is literally amazing.
[32:03] SPEAKER_02: So good.
[32:05] SPEAKER_00: That sounds amazing.
[32:06] SPEAKER_00: You know what I made last night, and it was so good.
[32:10] SPEAKER_00: And this is what we should make next week and have them on here is I got everything at Trader Joe's, I got hot chocolate packets, and then they had peppermint liqueur.
[32:20] SPEAKER_00: And I just made hot chocolate, one one shot of regular vodka, one shot of peppermint liqueur, if I'm saying that right, and mixed it up and then put whipped cream on it.
[32:33] SPEAKER_00: It was so delicious.
[32:35] SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know what else Trader Joe's has that's so cool?
[32:39] SPEAKER_00: They have these, they're meant for drinks.
[32:41] SPEAKER_00: They're um cinnamon sticks that are huge, and they are, you know, like the rock candy when you're little, like it's on a stick and it's rock candy.
[32:50] SPEAKER_00: They have um, it's like rock candy, like sugar crystals around the cinnamon stick.
[32:55] SPEAKER_00: So you use it in like hot cider or like a hot toddy, and you stir it, and then it melts the sugar and the cinnamon into the drink.
[33:03] SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, it's unreal.
[33:05] SPEAKER_02: I that sounds so delicious.
[33:07] SPEAKER_02: I had this drink the other day, this coffee.
[33:09] SPEAKER_02: Well, it wasn't coffee, it was a cocktail, um, but it had chai.
[33:16] SPEAKER_00: But I know you don't you're not really a chai person, right?
[33:19] SPEAKER_00: I I wouldn't a cocktail.
[33:21] SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not gonna order that at Starbucks, but I would drink it as like a beverage.
[33:25] SPEAKER_00: That sounds nice.
[33:27] SPEAKER_02: So it was like chai, vanilla vodka, it had a bunch of like festive y stuff in it.
[33:33] SPEAKER_02: It was so, so good.
[33:36] SPEAKER_00: Oh, that sounds I love good hot holiday drinks.
[33:40] SPEAKER_00: Like that that's my favorite.
[33:42] SPEAKER_00: Um my favorite way to consume alcohol is through like a sweet thing that kind of tastes like a coffee anyway.
[33:50] SPEAKER_00: Um, for our next segment, you know what I think we're gonna do?
[33:54] SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do our princess diary segment, which is confessions, it's embarrassing stories, it's the stuff that is in our diaries that we're not gonna talk about anywhere else but here.
[34:06] SPEAKER_00: We only talk about it on Call Me Back.
[34:08] SPEAKER_00: So um, I don't know if this is happening to you yet.
[34:12] SPEAKER_00: I am like ashamed to like tell anybody about it because I'm so embarrassed.
[34:15] SPEAKER_00: But then I actually saw a video of a girl on here and she was going like this to her chin, and she was like, if you're 35 and over, which we are not 35, but if you see a girl who's over 35 and she's going like this to her chin, she is trying to pluck the hair from her chin.
[34:34] SPEAKER_00: Like why and she's like if she's going like this, like this?
[34:40] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she was basically like if you see a girl doing that and she's over 35, she's like trying to feel the hair that she's about to pluck from her chin.
[34:48] SPEAKER_00: And I was like, oh shoot, I very much relate to that because I have a single black hair that grows from my chin, and I have to pluck it, and it's so embarrassing.
[34:58] SPEAKER_00: And Whitney is saying, yes, same.
[35:01] SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
[35:02] SPEAKER_00: Do you have one too?
[35:03] SPEAKER_02: I have a little mole on the on the side right here, and it has one single black hair that grows out of it that I have to pluck.
[35:12] SPEAKER_00: Do you know that it's a good thing when a hair grows out of a mole?
[35:14] SPEAKER_00: It means that it's a safe mole.
[35:16] SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow, that's amazing.
[35:18] SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that.
[35:19] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I learned that kind of recently.
[35:21] SPEAKER_00: Cool.
[35:22] SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, so that's good news.
[35:24] SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, so I first saw the black hair growing out of my chin when I was on my way to the optometrist in February, and I looked in like the car makeup mirror and I saw it, and I like I had a true conniption.
[35:39] SPEAKER_00: I was like, what is going on that I have a black ch hair coming out of my chin?
[35:43] SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
[35:44] SPEAKER_00: It just seemed extreme, but yeah, seems like it seems like it's normal, but no one talks about it.
[35:49] SPEAKER_00: Question mark.
[35:51] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, how much are we exposing of ourselves to Princess Diarying this moment?
[35:58] SPEAKER_02: I'll be I'll be honest, I'll Princess Diaries it.
[36:01] SPEAKER_02: I I'll call it dermaplane.
[36:04] SPEAKER_02: I dermaplane my face.
[36:05] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[36:07] SPEAKER_00: I shave mine.
[36:08] SPEAKER_02: Like a lot of girls do that.
[36:09] SPEAKER_02: Like dermaplane, get all the peach fuzz off.
[36:13] SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
[36:14] SPEAKER_02: You know, I'd like to say that it's purely for exfoliation purposes, but I can't.
[36:19] SPEAKER_00: It's because I've got hair, peach fuzz.
[36:21] SPEAKER_00: Me too.
[36:22] SPEAKER_00: You know what though?
[36:23] SPEAKER_00: For some reason, my peach fuzz that I shave, I feel like doesn't hit me as hard as like a black hair coming from my chin.
[36:29] SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure.
[36:30] SPEAKER_00: I don't know, it just felt like like you know, when you see old people, no offense to our wonderful old people out there, but often they have like long black hairs poking out of their channels, like, so this is when this starts?
[36:40] SPEAKER_00: Is that 30?
[36:41] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just like a little early.
[36:44] SPEAKER_02: It is a different feeling.
[36:45] SPEAKER_02: It's like, am I a storybook witch?
[36:48] SPEAKER_02: That's kind of black hair on the chin vibes for me.
[36:52] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[36:52] SPEAKER_00: Do I live under a bridge and I'm waiting for a little kid to walk by, like in those, you know, scary storybooks or whatever?
[36:59] SPEAKER_00: It's like, you know.
[37:01] SPEAKER_00: Um but you know, my favorite razor to like shave my face, if you will, the peach buzz are like the cheap BIC razors.
[37:11] SPEAKER_00: Have you ever used one of those?
[37:13] SPEAKER_00: No, I use like derma planing razors.
[37:16] SPEAKER_00: That's just that's that's legit for sure.
[37:19] SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
[37:19] SPEAKER_00: Yes.
[37:20] SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know why, but I like those bic ones.
[37:22] SPEAKER_00: I think because they're like old school razors, so they're more simple.
[37:25] SPEAKER_02: Um they're not as they're not as they're much more user-friendly than like the derma planing blade.
[37:33] SPEAKER_02: And also you can just like be kind of haphazard with it.
[37:37] SPEAKER_02: Whereas the derma planing razor, it's like it's like a whole routine.
[37:42] SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
[37:42] SPEAKER_02: Like I steam my face.
[37:45] SPEAKER_02: Steam it, and then I oil it, and then and then I like go section by section and kind of do it at the all.
[37:56] SPEAKER_02: It's like takes 20 to 30 minutes in total.
[37:59] SPEAKER_00: It's like a facial.
[38:00] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is facial.
[38:02] SPEAKER_00: But I do the hot mess express version where I'm just in the bathroom, I see a patch of hair that looks like hay on a farm, and then I'm just like, I have to shave this now.
[38:14] SPEAKER_00: So I just pull it out and I just shave it really quick.
[38:16] SPEAKER_00: But I should try that.
[38:18] SPEAKER_00: That sounds um sounds like my it just sounds more luxurious, like taking like making shaving luxurious.
[38:25] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and sometimes I do a little mask with it.
[38:27] SPEAKER_02: That's always fun.
[38:29] SPEAKER_02: But my hot mess express version is like running to the shower and getting my razor that I shave my legs with and just like doing the main parts, you know.
[38:40] SPEAKER_02: Totally.
[38:41] SPEAKER_02: The problematic area for any Italian girl.
[38:44] SPEAKER_00: Oh yes.
[38:45] SPEAKER_00: Oh yes.
[38:47] SPEAKER_00: Speaking of Italian, I had the best birata the other day.
[38:50] SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to give you the low down.
[38:52] SPEAKER_00: And it's walking distance from my house.
[38:54] SPEAKER_00: It's at that wine bar.
[38:56] SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's it tasted so fresh.
[38:58] SPEAKER_00: It tasted, it tasted like if if cheese grew off of a plant somehow, it tasted like it just got picked from the plant.
[39:07] SPEAKER_00: That's the best way I can describe it.
[39:08] SPEAKER_00: It was extremely fresh.
[39:10] SPEAKER_02: Was it better than the amalfi burrata?
[39:13] SPEAKER_00: No, because nothing will be that because that's an experience.
[39:16] SPEAKER_00: Okay.
[39:17] SPEAKER_00: Just making sure Okay, well, here's what I'll say.
[39:20] SPEAKER_00: I think maybe the actual burrata cheese was better, but nothing can replace that experience.
[39:28] SPEAKER_00: And like it didn't have like the um the glaze and all the add-ons that Amalfi has.
[39:36] SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, um, it if it did have that, wow, that would be some competition.
[39:42] SPEAKER_00: And it came with um like warmly toasted and buttered sourdough bread.
[39:47] SPEAKER_00: Oh wow, it was so good.
[39:48] SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
[39:49] SPEAKER_02: Wow.
[39:50] SPEAKER_00: I just got lost in that.
[39:51] SPEAKER_00: Well, let's talk about there's a lot of stuff that we didn't get to, but I was thinking we inspire the people.
[39:57] SPEAKER_00: Okay, perfect.
[39:58] SPEAKER_00: I was thinking we inspire the people because I feel like that ends up being the most meaningful part of the pod.
[40:06] SPEAKER_00: I was thinking a lot this week about imposter syndrome, and like I feel like I'm convinced that no matter how high you get on the ladder, no matter how high you climb, I feel like everybody to some degree has imposter syndrome.
[40:22] SPEAKER_00: And it made me just think of how we're not alone in it.
[40:26] SPEAKER_00: And I got an email last week of a pretty big opportunity, and I was so excited, and I remember like checking the recipient name on the email, checking to see like my name in the email, like, oh, they probably meant to send it to a different Daniela.
[40:47] SPEAKER_00: And like, I even there's like this little account that's like associated with it, and I logged in and I was trying to like look in my portal to see like, did they really mean to like reach out to me and pick me?
[40:57] SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, why am I doing this to myself?
[41:01] SPEAKER_00: But um I have seen, like, okay, my favorite is probably Kim Kardashian because I feel like when I think of Kim Kardashian, not only is she super beautiful, but like I don't care what anybody has to say about her in her past, she is a badass boss babe that like is so intelligent.
[41:22] SPEAKER_00: I love her passion for helping people who have been like wrongly convicted in the justice system.
[41:29] SPEAKER_00: Like she does so many meaningful things with her life, and she is so good at business, and I love her drive.
[41:38] SPEAKER_00: And I was watching an episode of hers the other day, and it it gave me chills because it kind of resonated with me in like the whole imposter syndrome thing.
[41:46] SPEAKER_00: She um she was like going from she's in New York and she like lined up all these business meetings, opportunities, photo shoots, all these things.
[41:55] SPEAKER_00: And her mom sat her down and was like, Kim, you're going to have a breakdown if you don't like take care of yourself.
[42:02] SPEAKER_00: Like she was just going nonstop.
[42:03] SPEAKER_00: And Kim was like sitting in the chair trying to process like why she was doing all this, and she was like, I'm afraid that if I slow down and I'm not saying yes to all these opportunities, that I will become irrelevant.
[42:17] SPEAKER_00: And I thought, like, that hit me because I thought this is Kim Kardashian.
[42:21] SPEAKER_00: Like, if she disappeared to Turks and Caicos for 60 days, when she came back, I believe she would still be extremely relevant.
[42:30] SPEAKER_00: And I know the industry's crazy and all that, and like you've got to keep up with it.
[42:34] SPEAKER_00: But like if Kim Kay feels that way, like it's just a reminder that it's okay to feel like you're not good enough, to feel like you're not qualified, to feel like you're a fraud, or like you're just trying to make it up as you go.
[42:50] SPEAKER_00: I do feel like the more I get older and the more experience I have and the more people I meet, I feel like everybody is making it up as they go.
[42:59] SPEAKER_00: I feel like I I don't think a lot of people are like, yeah, this is it, and I've got this.
[43:05] SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're all just trying to do our best, even the people at the top.
[43:09] SPEAKER_00: And if Kim Kardashian kind of has imposter syndrome and feels like she might lose her relevancy, like it's okay if we do too.
[43:17] SPEAKER_02: That was just something on my heart this week.
[43:19] SPEAKER_02: I feel like most people, I mean, I don't know because I'm not there, but I feel like most people at the top feel that way also.
[43:28] SPEAKER_02: Because I think one of the things that propels you to keep going and to never stop is the feeling like you haven't made it.
[43:38] SPEAKER_02: And the feeling like I'm the feeling like you're an imposter, like the feeling like, oh, if I just did this for 10 more years, maybe I'd feel like I deserve this.
[43:50] SPEAKER_02: Um so I feel like most people at the top probably have some level of imposter syndrome because how do you get there?
[43:59] SPEAKER_02: You Get there by never stopping, and that's I I I don't know what I'm trying to say.
[44:07] SPEAKER_02: That's my point, I guess.
[44:08] SPEAKER_00: No, that that that is such a good point.
[44:12] SPEAKER_00: You said it perfectly.
[44:13] SPEAKER_00: It's like you kind of always feel like you've never made it.
[44:16] SPEAKER_00: Like, when will you feel like you've made it?
[44:20] SPEAKER_00: Um man, I forget her answer, but when I interviewed Carly Pierce at CMA Fest, one of the questions that I asked her, because I wanted to know, I said, When did you feel like you made it?
[44:32] SPEAKER_00: And she was like, she said something to the effect of, um, I feel like I just made it, or something like, I feel like I haven't yet.
[44:38] SPEAKER_00: Or it was something like along those lines to where, and I don't remember exactly what she said because this interview was a year and a half ago, but the impact that I took from it was like, wait, Carly Pierce, she just won all these awards, and you know, she's doing all these amazing things, and she feels like that.
[44:52] SPEAKER_00: Like, that's so crazy to me.
[44:55] SPEAKER_00: Okay, so that reminds me of our little Biss You Got this segment we did last week of I believe the girlies that are feeling behind and feeling frustrated with themselves are gonna be the ones that are gonna make it because successful people, it takes time to become successful, and it makes sense that if you're successful, you feel that way because it's such a grind.
[45:17] SPEAKER_00: Um, that's such a cool stuff.
[45:19] SPEAKER_00: I love it.
[45:19] SPEAKER_02: I also think too that you know, like when I will use this analogy, you know, like when um you haven't seen someone in a while, maybe say six months or a year, and well, maybe they've lost like 15, 20 pounds, or maybe maybe even just 10 pounds, and they'll say, like, oh my gosh, you look so different.
[45:43] SPEAKER_02: But you're like, uh really, because I I haven't noticed that they have the advantage of uh seeing outside, looking from the outside.
[45:55] SPEAKER_02: We are the only the only companion for ourselves that sees every single thing of every single day.
[46:02] SPEAKER_02: So of course it's gonna be harder for us to see our own progress, which actually like I've been trying to challenge myself to journal a lot more because I feel I find that I run into this a lot, and that's all of a sudden six months go by, and I'm like, what did I do?
[46:23] SPEAKER_02: What progress did I make?
[46:25] SPEAKER_02: Where did the time go?
[46:26] SPEAKER_02: And that's the perfect example of like when that person sees you after a long time, they can see your progress, but you can't.
[46:33] SPEAKER_02: You just feel like you're at a standstill.
[46:36] SPEAKER_02: And so I one thing I want to do, especially well, now, um, and then going into the new year is like I want to be more intentional about writing everything down that I'm doing that way.
[46:48] SPEAKER_02: I can go back and look at it.
[46:50] SPEAKER_02: Um, and even when six months later I feel like I haven't made progress, I can go back and see that I have almost like that outside looking and perspective.
[47:00] SPEAKER_00: So I love that.
[47:02] SPEAKER_00: I love that so much, and I also think that's something that I like I would love to journal, and I just haven't um been consistent like ever.
[47:12] SPEAKER_00: But something else that helps me with that is going through my camera role, like seeing like, oh, this is how what I was doing.
[47:18] SPEAKER_00: You know, like when you see a picture, you remember how you were feeling in that moment.
[47:22] SPEAKER_00: Like I think of like, oh, this is where I was, this is what I was doing, what I was thinking, how I was feeling, and this is where I am now.
[47:29] SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, I that's so cool.
[47:33] SPEAKER_00: Oh, and I think another part of that is is like you're saying, like, when someone doesn't see you for a while, that was a great analogy.
[47:39] SPEAKER_00: I think another part of it is we're also the ones in the meantime going through like the rejection.
[47:46] SPEAKER_00: If you're on any sort of like success trajectory, you're going to be getting rejection.
[47:50] SPEAKER_00: Like, I got an email the other day I'd submitted to speak somewhere on this panel, and I was like fingers crossed, and I just got an email today saying like I wasn't selected.
[47:59] SPEAKER_00: And like you experience the no's and the rejection, so you feel like you're moving slower, and it's hard sometimes to see just how the progress you're making because of that.
[48:09] SPEAKER_00: You're the only one that sees your rejection, sees the no, see all sees all those kind of negative things, but that's just part of it.
[48:15] SPEAKER_00: Um, that was a great analogy.
[48:18] SPEAKER_00: Um I love that.
[48:20] SPEAKER_00: So cheers to having imposter syndrome and feeling like you're behind, or feeling slower, or feeling even like you're just not where you want to be or where you wish you were or where you thought you'd be, but doing it anyway, because that's gonna be the thing that sets you apart.
[48:38] SPEAKER_02: I guess just when it comes to imposter syndrome, yeah.
[48:42] SPEAKER_02: When you think about it, like it's impossible to actually be an imposter.
[48:48] SPEAKER_02: We're not even more we're not we're amazing people, like humans are absolutely amazing, but to an extent, like it's not sustainable or possible to not be who you are for so for long enough to feel like you can get from point A to point B.
[49:05] SPEAKER_00: Yes, you know what comes to mind?
[49:07] SPEAKER_00: What?
[49:08] SPEAKER_00: Sh that's fresh.
[49:09] SPEAKER_01: Whatever she said.
[49:11] SPEAKER_02: That was so good.
[49:14] SPEAKER_02: It's yeah, it's impossible.
[49:17] SPEAKER_02: Like we can only be, at the end of the day, we can only be who we are.
[49:22] SPEAKER_02: So and that's not fair.
[49:24] SPEAKER_00: There's nothing fake about that.
[49:26] SPEAKER_00: Yes, and like you said a couple weeks ago on the pod, you said that when you're not being yourself, when you're not being your truest self, you're actually robbing yourself and the world of everything that you have to give because you're the only person that can give those things.
[49:40] SPEAKER_00: So I think that was a major mic drop.
[49:43] SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that was great.
[49:44] SPEAKER_00: I I say we saved the questions because that was the highest note we could have ended on.
[49:49] SPEAKER_00: Chime chime.
[49:51] SPEAKER_00: Also, Hot Mess Express.
[49:54] SPEAKER_00: I don't know if um if you heard that, but I was like, that's a cute little segment thing we could do.
[49:59] SPEAKER_00: That's cute.
[50:00] SPEAKER_00: I love that.
[50:00] SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys so much for tuning into the Call Me Back podcast.
[50:04] SPEAKER_00: We've loved having every single one of you here.
[50:07] SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, call me back.
[50:10] SPEAKER_00: Love you, bye.
