[0:04] Speaker 1: Welcome to snuggle cozy Stories for kids. This episode is
[0:10] Speaker 1: called The Sleepy Puppy on the Farm. Hey friend, it's
[0:18] Speaker 1: Tom here as usual, and I'm so glad you've joined
[0:22] Speaker 1: me for story time. I hope it's becoming your favorite
[0:26] Speaker 1: time of day, because it sure is mine. I wanted
[0:31] Speaker 1: to ask, have you ever met a puppy before? I
[0:36] Speaker 1: love puppies. They're so adorable and cuddly, and this story
[0:42] Speaker 1: is all about a snuggly little puppy exploring the world.
[0:48] Speaker 1: Our friend t K is here to read it to us,
[0:52] Speaker 1: and I'm pretty sure you're going to love it. As usual,
[0:57] Speaker 1: we'll use our minds to envision and everything going on
[1:01] Speaker 1: in the story to warm up our imaginations. Let's take
[1:08] Speaker 1: a nice deep breath together, so inhale nice and slowly
[1:18] Speaker 1: and gently exhale. Fantastic. Now we're ready for TIK to
[1:29] Speaker 1: read to us. The story begins on a farm, so
[1:35] Speaker 1: imagine a big farmhouse way out in the countryside. There
[1:42] Speaker 1: is green grass all around, and even a barn and
[1:47] Speaker 1: some animals. This is where our story begins.
[2:07] Speaker 2: Toby the Puppy was born on a big farm on
[2:13] Speaker 2: the outskirts of a sleepy village. He was part of
[2:20] Speaker 2: a litter of five puppies, so he had four brothers
[2:26] Speaker 2: and sisters who were born at the same time. Mister
[2:34] Speaker 2: and Missus Williams were the owners of the farm. Toby's
[2:40] Speaker 2: parents were their pets. The Williams family was so happy
[2:49] Speaker 2: to have such cute, fluffy puppies living on their farm.
[2:58] Speaker 2: When Toby was first born, he spent all his time
[3:04] Speaker 2: in a big cardboard box with his siblings. Thankfully, it
[3:13] Speaker 2: wasn't just any old box. It was very comfortable and
[3:22] Speaker 2: big enough for all the puppies to fit in. The
[3:29] Speaker 2: floor fell warm and cozy. The box always smelled nice,
[3:39] Speaker 2: but most importantly, it even had extra room so Toby's
[3:47] Speaker 2: mother could fit comfortably. Bat Man, she could be with
[3:55] Speaker 2: her puppies during the day as well as put them
[4:00] Speaker 2: at night. Mama Dog was fairly small with a gorgeous
[4:09] Speaker 2: black and white coat. Missus Williams carefully brushed her fur
[4:18] Speaker 2: every morning, and she also gave her baths so her
[4:25] Speaker 2: fur always felt silky and clean. Mama Dog enjoyed spending
[4:36] Speaker 2: most of her time inside the cardboard box with her puppies.
[4:44] Speaker 2: She liked to watch over Toby and his siblings. She
[4:52] Speaker 2: fed them, cleaned them and kept them warm. Mamma Dog
[5:01] Speaker 2: was like the soft dough that keeps the chocolate chips
[5:06] Speaker 2: in place in a delicious cookie. Her presence were sweet, reassuring,
[5:16] Speaker 2: and comforting. She created such a calm atmosphere in their home.
[5:26] Speaker 2: Toby and all his siblings loved to cuddle up to
[5:32] Speaker 2: their mother while they were sleeping. Puppies are born with
[5:41] Speaker 2: their eyes closed, but even though they couldn't see yet,
[5:48] Speaker 2: each one of the puppies knew exactly how to find
[5:54] Speaker 2: their mother. They followed herself and the warmth of her body.
[6:05] Speaker 2: Then they crawled straight towards her and leaned against her belly.
[6:15] Speaker 2: When Mama wasn't in the box, Toby liked to snuggle
[6:21] Speaker 2: up to his siblings. Their warm bodies and soft for
[6:29] Speaker 2: her made him feel very cozy and ready to rest.
[6:39] Speaker 2: Even though Toby couldn't see, he could feel with his
[6:46] Speaker 2: little paws and body that he was in a safe
[6:50] Speaker 2: place where he could sleep as much as he wanted,
[6:58] Speaker 2: and he slept. The puppies need a great deal of
[7:06] Speaker 2: sleep and food because they are growing very quickly. As
[7:16] Speaker 2: the days went by, Toby and his brothers and sisters
[7:23] Speaker 2: started to feel a bit more curious and had more energy.
[7:31] Speaker 2: The house where the Williams family lived was big and
[7:37] Speaker 2: filled with large windows. Toby started noticing how there was
[7:47] Speaker 2: always a gentle breeze blowing through the house. It brushed
[7:56] Speaker 2: his fur softly and entered hisse The smells carried by
[8:05] Speaker 2: the breeze were subtle and sweet. There were also nice,
[8:14] Speaker 2: stronger smells that made his tummy growl, as if he
[8:20] Speaker 2: was ready to eat. Toby was becoming increasingly curious about
[8:30] Speaker 2: these smells. He wanted to know where they came from
[8:37] Speaker 2: and what they were, but he and his siblings still
[8:46] Speaker 2: had their eyes closed, though they remained in the cozy box.
[8:56] Speaker 2: Now that they were more curious and energetic, they started
[9:03] Speaker 2: exploring it. Toby and his siblings sniffed around the warm
[9:12] Speaker 2: floor and slowly crawled towards the corners of the box,
[9:20] Speaker 2: and they found out that it was even bigger than
[9:27] Speaker 2: they had imagined. There were some new things in the
[9:34] Speaker 2: box too. Toby moved around until his head bumped into
[9:43] Speaker 2: some type of soft fabric. It was the softest thing
[9:52] Speaker 2: he had ever touched. The blanket was large and thick.
[10:01] Speaker 2: Toby managed to crawl onto the blanket his body felt
[10:08] Speaker 2: the embrace of this thick and delicate fabric. The contact
[10:17] Speaker 2: with his fur PAW's head and ears was like nothing
[10:25] Speaker 2: he had experienced before. It was like his personal cocoon
[10:34] Speaker 2: of peace and safety. He felt so comfortable and relaxed
[10:44] Speaker 2: that he decided to take a long nap right there.
[10:54] Speaker 2: The next morning, Toby woke up even more eager to
[11:00] Speaker 2: explore this comfortable big box. He found a way to
[11:09] Speaker 2: get untangled from the blanket and managed to crawl a
[11:15] Speaker 2: bit further until his nose sensed a smell he hadn't
[11:23] Speaker 2: experienced before. It was a strong scent. Toby was becoming
[11:34] Speaker 2: more fearless by the day, so he opened his mouth
[11:39] Speaker 2: a bit and licked the thing emitting the smell. It
[11:48] Speaker 2: turned out that it was a small and round object.
[11:56] Speaker 2: There were several of them inside the box. As Toby
[12:04] Speaker 2: would later learn, this was something called a ball, and
[12:12] Speaker 2: it was fun that you want right now. His heath
[12:20] Speaker 2: were only just starting to grow, but he could still
[12:27] Speaker 2: enjoy the new smell and flavor. His whole mouth came
[12:36] Speaker 2: to life when he was playing with the rubber ball,
[12:43] Speaker 2: and the material massaged his lips as well as his comes.
[12:52] Speaker 2: This left him feeling so relaxed that he couldn't help,
[12:59] Speaker 2: but they can.
[13:00] Speaker 3: Their long nap.
[13:06] Speaker 2: Time went by fast inside the puppies box, their fur
[13:12] Speaker 2: was longer and fluffier. Now they looked like small and
[13:19] Speaker 2: delicate cotton balls, slowly moving around the box. Now their
[13:29] Speaker 2: colors were starting to show more clearly as well. There
[13:38] Speaker 2: were two puppies with shiny black coats, while two had
[13:45] Speaker 2: white fur combined with light brown parts. And finally there
[13:56] Speaker 2: was Toby, the only puff that looked just like his mother.
[14:06] Speaker 2: His fluffy fur was a combination of black and white.
[14:14] Speaker 2: His chest was white like the wintry snow, as were
[14:21] Speaker 2: his paws, mouth, and most parts of his head aside
[14:29] Speaker 2: from his floppy black ears. But what made Toby stand
[14:38] Speaker 2: out were the two big spots of black furs surrounding
[14:45] Speaker 2: each eye. The spots had uneven sizes, and this made
[14:53] Speaker 2: Toby look even cut. The puffies were growing quickly. Soon enough,
[15:05] Speaker 2: Toby started opening his little eyes. He began with his
[15:13] Speaker 2: left eye while the right one remained closed, so he
[15:21] Speaker 2: looked like he was winking. At first, he could only
[15:29] Speaker 2: see blurry shapes and didn't really understand what was surrounding him.
[15:40] Speaker 2: But Toby was very excited about his new ability, and
[15:47] Speaker 2: he couldn't wait to be able to see more. A
[15:55] Speaker 2: couple of days later, Toby's left eye open been fully
[16:02] Speaker 2: and his right eye started slowly opening as well. His
[16:11] Speaker 2: sight was a little less blurry and he could see
[16:17] Speaker 2: more things at once.
[16:19] Speaker 3: Now.
[16:23] Speaker 2: That meant he was now able to see his mother.
[16:30] Speaker 2: Although Mamma was a small dog, she was big compared
[16:36] Speaker 2: to him. Toby felt like he was looking at a
[16:45] Speaker 2: beautiful and loving giant, a soft giant that was always
[16:53] Speaker 2: looking after him and protecting him. Toby was also able
[17:04] Speaker 2: to see his brothers and sisters for the first time.
[17:12] Speaker 2: A couple of them looked like they were winking, while
[17:16] Speaker 2: the others already had both eyes fully open. Toby was
[17:25] Speaker 2: happy that they could all see each other. Each one
[17:32] Speaker 2: of the soft, cuddly puppies that he had been snuggling
[17:37] Speaker 2: up to now had a distinct face, as well as
[17:44] Speaker 2: their own particular scent. Toby could also see the shape
[17:53] Speaker 2: of their box now the very soft blanket and the
[18:00] Speaker 2: toys revealed their shapes too. But of all his new abilities,
[18:12] Speaker 2: what Toby found to be the most interesting was that
[18:18] Speaker 2: he was now capable of perceiving light and darkness. Light
[18:31] Speaker 2: was a wonderful thing, Toby thought. Every morning. He could
[18:40] Speaker 2: see it slowly finding its way through all the windows
[18:46] Speaker 2: and crevices in the house, and when it reached him,
[18:55] Speaker 2: he felt like he was wrapped in a ball of
[18:59] Speaker 2: war warmth that caress his whole little body. This made
[19:09] Speaker 2: him feel relaxed and safe. Mornings became Toby's favorite moment
[19:20] Speaker 2: of the day. It only took a couple more days
[19:28] Speaker 2: for all the Buffy's eyes to be fully open. Now
[19:36] Speaker 2: that Toby could see clearly, he was ready to start
[19:43] Speaker 2: taking his first few steps. When he first tried to
[19:53] Speaker 2: straighten his legs, they quickly became wobbly, and Toby sank
[20:01] Speaker 2: to the floor like jelly. He didn't know that walking
[20:10] Speaker 2: would be so hard, but Mama was there watching him try,
[20:18] Speaker 2: and she was looking at him calmly and reassuringly. This
[20:27] Speaker 2: gave Toby the strength to try to stand on his
[20:32] Speaker 2: four legs again, and this time he did it. Toby
[20:42] Speaker 2: felt like he was on top of a mountain. From
[20:48] Speaker 2: up here, he had a better view, and he could
[20:53] Speaker 2: see even more things. He certainly wanted more of this,
[21:03] Speaker 2: so he made a big effort and started slowly placing
[21:10] Speaker 2: his legs one in front of the other, as if
[21:16] Speaker 2: he were carefully walking on a cloud. After some days practicing,
[21:28] Speaker 2: all the pups were able to walk. Toby's abilities to
[21:36] Speaker 2: see and walk completely changed his perception of the world
[21:43] Speaker 2: around him, and he was ready to explore more of it.
[21:52] Speaker 2: Soon after, when the puppies were four weeks old, Mister
[21:59] Speaker 2: and Missus Williams decided that it was time to take
[22:05] Speaker 2: them outside of the house. Toby was amazed at how
[22:14] Speaker 2: big the outside world was. In front of him were
[22:23] Speaker 2: large spaces made of different types of surfaces. The first
[22:32] Speaker 2: thing that caught his eye was the grass. Carefully, he
[22:42] Speaker 2: put one paw on this huge carpet. He felt a
[22:49] Speaker 2: slight tickle, but after a brief moment, his paw had
[22:58] Speaker 2: become one with the surface. Then Toby placed all four
[23:09] Speaker 2: paws on the grass. All of them were tingling with
[23:15] Speaker 2: this new leafy sensation and with excitement. At times, the
[23:26] Speaker 2: little blades of grass got between his paw pads and
[23:32] Speaker 2: tickled him. But the grass also made the ground feel
[23:41] Speaker 2: padded and solid, like it was safe to walk on.
[23:51] Speaker 2: So Toby embraced this new experience and started walking around
[24:00] Speaker 2: on the grass, and then suddenly walking turned into running.
[24:14] Speaker 2: Toby had never done this before. When he ran, he
[24:22] Speaker 2: could feel the breeze even more intensely. As he moved rapidly,
[24:33] Speaker 2: the breeze pushed his floppy ears back so they massaged
[24:39] Speaker 2: the sides of his head. All his fur was pushed
[24:46] Speaker 2: backwards as well. It was as if his fur was
[24:53] Speaker 2: being colne. It felt fresh and new. Toby loved how
[25:05] Speaker 2: the clean breeze made him feel when he was running
[25:11] Speaker 2: through it, and outdoors, the sun was shining even more brightly.
[25:24] Speaker 2: With the fresh breeze, Toby felt just right. As he
[25:34] Speaker 2: ran around the farm, he saw plants, flowers, and trees
[25:43] Speaker 2: for the first time. His nose picked up many new scents,
[25:52] Speaker 2: which all came from nature. The flowers had just been
[26:00] Speaker 2: and watered, smelled sweet and fresh. Some of them had
[26:09] Speaker 2: lighter smells, while others were stronger, but Toby liked them all.
[26:22] Speaker 2: The scents of roses, lilies, and lots of other types
[26:28] Speaker 2: of flowers made him feel like he was being transported
[26:36] Speaker 2: to another place where there was nothing but serenity. Toby
[26:47] Speaker 2: was so delighted by the smell of the lilacs that
[26:53] Speaker 2: he got even closer with the intention of licking them.
[27:02] Speaker 2: He took a deep breath, trying to absorb all the
[27:09] Speaker 2: scents that he could. Then he took a step closer,
[27:18] Speaker 2: put his tongue on one of the petals, and licked
[27:23] Speaker 2: it all the way. It was an amazing sensation. This
[27:33] Speaker 2: surface was the silkiest he had ever tasted. The petals
[27:43] Speaker 2: looked so fragile that he was very careful in licking
[27:49] Speaker 2: them for a second time. His tongue and mouth were
[27:56] Speaker 2: filled with a sweet aroma. Toby closed his eyes for
[28:05] Speaker 2: a moment and slowly licked his lips. Then he closed
[28:15] Speaker 2: his mouth to enjoy this wonderful fragrance and trap it
[28:22] Speaker 2: inside like a treasure. After enjoying his walk around the flowers,
[28:35] Speaker 2: Toby started gazing upwards. He hadn't noticed how tall the
[28:45] Speaker 2: trees could be. When he scratched the surface of a
[28:51] Speaker 2: tree trunk with his paws, he felt how hard and
[28:57] Speaker 2: strong it was, and the trunk kept growing upwards As
[29:08] Speaker 2: it got taller, branches grew from it in every direction,
[29:16] Speaker 2: creating an enormous umbrella that provided Toby with cool shade.
[29:27] Speaker 2: This was the perfect spot to rest peacefully for a while,
[29:35] Speaker 2: so he lay down After resting for a bit, Toby
[29:46] Speaker 2: looked at the ground under his paws. To his surprise,
[29:53] Speaker 2: it wasn't completely still. Dark shade leaps covered the ground
[30:02] Speaker 2: and moved across it to a certain rhythm. Toby was curious,
[30:13] Speaker 2: so he tried to place his paws on each of
[30:17] Speaker 2: the moving shapes. He wanted to catch them and find
[30:25] Speaker 2: out what they were, so he hopped and jumped, chasing
[30:34] Speaker 2: the shapes on the ground until something fell softly on
[30:42] Speaker 2: top of his head. Toby shook his head and the
[30:49] Speaker 2: thing dropped to the ground. It was a leaf, like
[30:56] Speaker 2: the ones that grew on the flower stems, but this
[31:01] Speaker 2: one was bigger. He looked up again and squinted his
[31:09] Speaker 2: eyes to see the top of the very tall tree
[31:14] Speaker 2: more clearly. Now that he was paying closer attention, he
[31:24] Speaker 2: could see that leaves also grew on trees. They sprouted
[31:33] Speaker 2: from the branches, and when the breeze flew by, they moved.
[31:43] Speaker 2: The leaves looked like they were dancing to the rhythm
[31:48] Speaker 2: of the wind, and somehow this dance was being replicated
[31:56] Speaker 2: on the ground where Toby stood. He was amazed at
[32:04] Speaker 2: how diverse nature could be. It was both soft and hard,
[32:14] Speaker 2: as well as fragile and strong. It could emit lovely
[32:23] Speaker 2: sense and perform the most beautiful dances, and it filled
[32:32] Speaker 2: Toby with peace and serenity, creating safe spaces for him
[32:41] Speaker 2: to explore clay and rest. Nature was a marvelous thing,
[32:53] Speaker 2: Toby decided. And then mister and Missus Williams came over
[33:04] Speaker 2: and began to pick up the puppies one by one.
[33:13] Speaker 2: They put them back inside their cozy cardboard box. Mama
[33:22] Speaker 2: went inside to all the puppies started yawning. After that
[33:32] Speaker 2: wonderful trip outdoors, they were happy, but very tired as well.
[33:44] Speaker 2: The puffies all snuggled up to Mama's belly and to
[33:50] Speaker 2: each other, ready to go to sleep. As he closed
[34:00] Speaker 2: used his eyes, Toby remembered the leaves on the tree
[34:07] Speaker 2: and their slow dance in the wind. He started to
[34:17] Speaker 2: feel like a leaf himself, being peacefully cradled by a
[34:25] Speaker 2: gentle breeze, and with this calming sensation, Toby drifted off.
[34:42] Speaker 3: To sleep. The position it is previous to be the
[36:02] Speaker 3: most dan
