[0:50] Speaker 1: so you're in for a treat with this one. My
[0:54] Speaker 1: friend Eric will be reading it to us as we
[0:58] Speaker 1: follow a young boy and his dragon on a magical,
[1:03] Speaker 1: dreamy adventure. So make sure you're nice and comfortable wherever
[1:10] Speaker 1: you're listening, and take this time to relax and rest.
[1:18] Speaker 1: To help us do that, let's take a deep breath together.
[1:24] Speaker 1: Breathe into the count of four one two, three, four
[1:32] Speaker 1: and out to the count of five one two, three
[1:37] Speaker 1: four five. That was great. I hope you're feeling a
[1:44] Speaker 1: bit more relaxed. Now it's time to meet a young
[1:49] Speaker 1: boy named Leo, who's also preparing for some rest as
[1:55] Speaker 1: he gets ready for bed.
[2:13] Speaker 2: Leo sits on the edge of his bed. It's nighttime now,
[2:19] Speaker 2: but the sheets and blankets are still neat from when
[2:22] Speaker 2: he made his bed this morning. On top is a
[2:27] Speaker 2: colorful comforter decorated with pictures of dragons and wand wielding magicians.
[2:37] Speaker 2: Leo is holding a plush toy, a baby dragon that
[2:40] Speaker 2: he got for his birthday. He gazes in wonder at
[2:46] Speaker 2: the small dragon with its shining green and blue scales.
[2:53] Speaker 2: The scales seem to shift ever so slightly. Leo is
[2:58] Speaker 2: puzzled and looks more moor closely, wondering if his eyes
[3:02] Speaker 2: are playing tricks on him. The dragon looks like a
[3:08] Speaker 2: cartoon character, with eyes that are huge compared to its
[3:12] Speaker 2: body and a big, silly, toothless grin that always makes
[3:18] Speaker 2: Leo want to smile too. Leo has named his dragon Henry,
[3:25] Speaker 2: and somehow the name fits. He couldn't be happier to
[3:30] Speaker 2: own such a wonderful toy. So, like every night before bed,
[3:36] Speaker 2: Leo gives Henry a great, big hug. At just about
[3:43] Speaker 2: the same time, Leo feels a change in the air.
[3:48] Speaker 2: A soft light shines through his window, even though it
[3:52] Speaker 2: was totally dark outside moments before, All of a sudden,
[4:00] Speaker 2: a warm gust of air blows the window all the
[4:03] Speaker 2: way open, and radiant light fills the room. At this moment,
[4:12] Speaker 2: Leo knows he's seeing something truly magical. Patterns of light
[4:18] Speaker 2: move across the walls and floor, and Leo's thoughts begin
[4:23] Speaker 2: to wander with them. He closes his eyes, enjoying the
[4:29] Speaker 2: warm breeze that ruffles his hair and basking in the
[4:33] Speaker 2: light that has filled his room. As peacefulness washes over Leo,
[4:41] Speaker 2: he feels another change take place. A gentle weight settles
[4:45] Speaker 2: on his lap. He opens his eyes, and to his amazement,
[4:52] Speaker 2: he sees that his dragon has come to life. Henry
[4:57] Speaker 2: is now watching him with huge green eyes that sparkle
[5:01] Speaker 2: with amusement. Surprised, Leo almost drops the baby dragon, who
[5:08] Speaker 2: lets out a squeak of protest and a puff of
[5:11] Speaker 2: smoke Henry. Leo asks in disbelief at the sound of
[5:19] Speaker 2: his name. Henry flashes his toothless grin and nods his
[5:24] Speaker 2: head as if to say yes, while his wings begin
[5:27] Speaker 2: to unfold. They glisten in the light, the emerald green
[5:33] Speaker 2: and sapphire blue scales sparkling like jewels. Henry lets out
[5:39] Speaker 2: another puff of smoke and returns Leo's hug, embracing the
[5:44] Speaker 2: boy with his wings. The air starts to swirl around them,
[5:51] Speaker 2: lifting them up. The two hold each other as they
[5:55] Speaker 2: seem to move through time and space. Leo closes his
[6:01] Speaker 2: eyes until he feels the ground appear beneath his feet again.
[6:08] Speaker 2: He opens his eyes to discover that they are no
[6:11] Speaker 2: longer in his bedroom, but in a new place entirely.
[6:18] Speaker 2: A beautiful landscape and bright, sunny sky greet them, and
[6:23] Speaker 2: Leo has to pinch his arm to make sure he's
[6:26] Speaker 2: not dreaming. Henry lets go of Leo and gives the
[6:32] Speaker 2: boy an affectionate nudge before taking to the bright blue sky.
[6:40] Speaker 2: Leo looks around and realizes that he is standing atop
[6:44] Speaker 2: a hill in a valley. It's surrounded on all sides
[6:50] Speaker 2: by lush, green rainforest and mountains that span the horizon.
[6:58] Speaker 2: This is better than any vacation, any video game, or
[7:03] Speaker 2: any dream that he could ever imagine. Henry soars through
[7:10] Speaker 2: the clear blue expanse of sky, twirling with delight. It's
[7:18] Speaker 2: quite a sight to behold, and Leo stares up at him, smiling.
[7:25] Speaker 2: Leo is a fan of fantasy, especially anything that has
[7:29] Speaker 2: to do with dragons, and this dragon is putting on
[7:33] Speaker 2: quite a show, better than any circus performer, thinks Leo.
[7:40] Speaker 2: He continues to stand there, watching an amazement and soaking
[7:46] Speaker 2: in the views all around him. A rainbow arcs through
[7:52] Speaker 2: the robin's egg blue sky. The sun shimmers, catching the
[7:59] Speaker 2: scales of henry wings at just the right angle. The
[8:04] Speaker 2: dragon gleams in the bright sunlight. The trees and plants
[8:10] Speaker 2: and grass couldn't be greener, and the mountains tower high
[8:15] Speaker 2: into the sky, while the rolling valley below extends as
[8:21] Speaker 2: far as the eye can see. The trees sway in
[8:27] Speaker 2: the breeze. As Henry continues his dance through the air,
[8:33] Speaker 2: Birds of all different sizes, shapes, and colors fly through
[8:38] Speaker 2: the sky. Here and there are pillowy wisps of fluffy
[8:45] Speaker 2: white clouds. The clouds shadows dot the hilly landscape like footprints,
[8:53] Speaker 2: creating a beautiful contrast. Just then, out of the corner
[8:59] Speaker 2: of his eye, Leo notices a flash of green. He
[9:05] Speaker 2: turns to watch as Henry flies happily towards him. The
[9:10] Speaker 2: dragon's wings catch the wind to drift lazily in the air.
[9:16] Speaker 2: His wingspan is surprisingly wide, making him appear much larger
[9:22] Speaker 2: than he really is. He comes in for a gentle
[9:27] Speaker 2: landing and then hops over to Leo, nudging him affectionately.
[9:35] Speaker 2: Henry opens his wings, revealing something tucked away in their
[9:39] Speaker 2: glittering folds. He uses one of his talons to delicately
[9:45] Speaker 2: remove the gift and hand it to Leo. As Leo
[9:51] Speaker 2: sits down and takes the gift from the dragon, he
[9:55] Speaker 2: realizes what it is. It's a beautiful bundle of rainbow
[10:01] Speaker 2: hued flowers. Every color is there, varying shades of blue, green, pink, purple, yellow,
[10:13] Speaker 2: and orange. Delicate petals of all different sizes and formations
[10:20] Speaker 2: fluttered gently in the breeze, while the green stems feel
[10:24] Speaker 2: sturdy gathered together in his hand. The colors are so vibrant,
[10:31] Speaker 2: there are some shades that Leo is pretty sure he's
[10:35] Speaker 2: never even seen before. Pints of rose and lilac tickle
[10:41] Speaker 2: his nose and he breathes in deeply. Leo has never
[10:48] Speaker 2: been so thrilled to be holding a bouquet of flowers before,
[10:53] Speaker 2: but these are special. He looks at Henry with a
[10:59] Speaker 2: deep sin of gratitude, the gift in his hand meaning
[11:03] Speaker 2: everything to him. Leo nods his head and thanks, and
[11:09] Speaker 2: the dragon fluffs himself up with pride. Satisfied by the reaction,
[11:16] Speaker 2: Leo remembers that he has a piece of twine in
[11:19] Speaker 2: his pocket from earlier and carefully wraps it around the flowers.
[11:26] Speaker 2: He then places the bouquet upright against a nearby tree stump,
[11:33] Speaker 2: and then he reaches out to scratch Henry's head, which
[11:37] Speaker 2: feels scaly and cool to the touch. He marvels once
[11:43] Speaker 2: again at the creature and this marvelous gift. The dragon
[11:50] Speaker 2: relaxes his wings as his breathing begins to slow, and
[11:54] Speaker 2: he falls asleep. As the dragon snows, is snoring quietly,
[12:03] Speaker 2: Leo can't help but take in every aspect of his
[12:06] Speaker 2: new friend. He admires Henry's glittering wings and the whiplike
[12:14] Speaker 2: curl of his tail with a sharp triangle at the end.
[12:21] Speaker 2: Then he looks further away. He gazes up at the
[12:25] Speaker 2: tree tops and the forest that slopes up and down
[12:29] Speaker 2: the mountains and through the valley. Leo notices how strange
[12:36] Speaker 2: vines decorate the trees and how bright the colors are here.
[12:44] Speaker 2: They must be ten times as bright as anything he's
[12:47] Speaker 2: seen before. It's the dreamiest place he's ever seen. A
[12:55] Speaker 2: moment later, Henry begins to move. As he slowly stretches
[13:01] Speaker 2: his wings, he lets out a big yawn. A wisp
[13:08] Speaker 2: of smoke escapes through his nostrils as he awakens from
[13:12] Speaker 2: his slumber. Leo catches the dragon's eye as Henry sits
[13:18] Speaker 2: up a little, cocking his head as if listening to something.
[13:25] Speaker 2: Then Henry looks in the direction of another hill nearby.
[13:30] Speaker 2: Leo follows his gaze, but can't pick up on what
[13:33] Speaker 2: Henry hears. Curious, Leo begins to walk in that direction
[13:40] Speaker 2: as the dragon takes flight once more, leading the way,
[13:47] Speaker 2: Leo soon reaches the hill. The view from up here
[13:51] Speaker 2: is truly breathtaking. A river winds lazily through the valley,
[13:59] Speaker 2: lined on both sides by a dense foliage. There are
[14:05] Speaker 2: rolling hills and mountains all around him, with the valley
[14:09] Speaker 2: cloaked in shadows from the few fluffy clouds in between.
[14:16] Speaker 2: As he looks closer, he lets out a tiny gasp.
[14:22] Speaker 2: He's surprised to see that down the slope and a
[14:25] Speaker 2: short distance across the valley is a mountain with the biggest,
[14:30] Speaker 2: most glorious waterfall cascading down its side. It stretches all
[14:38] Speaker 2: the way from the top of the mountain to the
[14:41] Speaker 2: very bottom, straight into the depths of a small pool.
[14:47] Speaker 2: He can only guess how big the waterfall is, but
[14:51] Speaker 2: it must be at least as tall as a building.
[14:56] Speaker 2: Henry flies over to land on Leo's shoulder. Both of
[15:01] Speaker 2: them are now looking out across the green valley towards
[15:05] Speaker 2: the rushing waterfall. It would make the perfect picture, and
[15:11] Speaker 2: Leo wishes he had a camera with him. Instead, he
[15:17] Speaker 2: takes a mental snapshot that he can carry with him forever.
[15:23] Speaker 2: Henry rests his head against Leo's and the two linger
[15:26] Speaker 2: there for a few minutes, soaking it all in. After
[15:33] Speaker 2: a moment of comfortable, silent appreciation for nature's beauty, Henry
[15:38] Speaker 2: takes to the sky again. Leo follows, and soon the
[15:44] Speaker 2: boy and his dragon are making their way down the hill,
[15:48] Speaker 2: with Henry leading the way. A few birds pass overhead
[15:54] Speaker 2: and the wind whistles softly. The sun is bright, but
[16:00] Speaker 2: not too hot. This place must be out of a
[16:03] Speaker 2: fairy tale, thinks Leo, as a blue and purple butterfly
[16:08] Speaker 2: comes to sit on his hand. Everything is perfect. After
[16:15] Speaker 2: a few minutes of careful walking along a well worn path,
[16:19] Speaker 2: twisting through the valley. They finally reach the spot where
[16:23] Speaker 2: the river meets the waterfall. The sheets of water cascade
[16:30] Speaker 2: down like blue satin threaded with silver. They stop at
[16:37] Speaker 2: the edge of the waterfall, Feeling the cool spray from above.
[16:45] Speaker 2: Leo closes his eyes, enjoying the field of the water
[16:49] Speaker 2: on his face. It tickles, but it's a welcome feeling
[16:54] Speaker 2: after walking in the sun. Leo stands, spreading his arms
[17:01] Speaker 2: out to catch as much of the spray as he can.
[17:06] Speaker 2: The sun on his face, the water's caress, the wind
[17:11] Speaker 2: teasing his hair, it's all perfect. The smile that grows
[17:19] Speaker 2: across his face is so wide it feels like it
[17:23] Speaker 2: meets his ears. The cool mist that surrounds him feels magical.
[17:32] Speaker 2: Breathing in, Leo notices the clean smells of trees and
[17:37] Speaker 2: fresh water. Then he slowly walks on. Henry continues to
[17:46] Speaker 2: swoop through the air, showing off as he flies past
[17:50] Speaker 2: the waterfall. He stops for a moment, hovering in midair,
[17:57] Speaker 2: and glances back at Leo with a mite mischievous look
[18:00] Speaker 2: on his face. Then the little dragon glides into the
[18:07] Speaker 2: shining stream of water before playfully flying back out again.
[18:15] Speaker 2: Leo smiles at the dragon giggling After his flight. Henry
[18:22] Speaker 2: comes in for a landing and waits patiently as Leo
[18:26] Speaker 2: walks towards him to the place where the waterfall crashes
[18:31] Speaker 2: into the swirling pool of water. When Leo gets to
[18:36] Speaker 2: the pool, he cuts his hands together and reaches them
[18:39] Speaker 2: into the clear water, bringing some to his face. He
[18:46] Speaker 2: takes a sip. It's delicious. Around the edge of the
[18:52] Speaker 2: pool are clusters of the same flowers that Henry brought
[18:56] Speaker 2: Leo at the start of their adventure. Here they seem
[19:01] Speaker 2: to grow to amazing heights and sway slightly in the
[19:06] Speaker 2: breeze as Leo admires them. He also catches glimpses of
[19:13] Speaker 2: fish swimming lazily in the pool. Like the flowers, the
[19:19] Speaker 2: fish come in every size, shape and color. Leo watches
[19:26] Speaker 2: flashes of red, orange, and pink flicker through the water.
[19:33] Speaker 2: As much as Leo would like to stay here and
[19:35] Speaker 2: explore this magical place longer, Henry seems to understand. He
[19:41] Speaker 2: flies over and, just like before, gives Leo a big hug,
[19:47] Speaker 2: wrapping him in his glittering wings. Once again, Leo begins
[19:54] Speaker 2: to feel the wind around them swirl as a bright
[19:58] Speaker 2: light fills the air. He closes his eyes as they're
[20:04] Speaker 2: lifted off the ground. When he opens his eyes, he
[20:10] Speaker 2: finds himself back in his bedroom, hugging his plush stuffed dragon.
[20:18] Speaker 2: Leo smiles, his heart bursting with happiness. He is so lucky,
[20:25] Speaker 2: and he knows it. Leo pulls back the comforter and
[20:31] Speaker 2: falls into bed, pulling his dragon close. The adventure has
[20:38] Speaker 2: left him sleepy and happy beyond measure. Hugging Henry tight,
[20:46] Speaker 2: Leo closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in.
[20:53] Speaker 2: And then before he knows it, he's fast, asleep the dragon,
[21:00] Speaker 2: and by your side, not
