[0:00] Speaker 1: Welcome to immersion. You have reached stratify the Tiger Queen Memories,
[0:04] Speaker 1: Part two. They arrived at a unit with barricades and
[0:08] Speaker 1: metal shutters. It was constructed from an old underground train carriage,
[0:12] Speaker 1: probably from the twenty first century. Here we go, said
[0:16] Speaker 1: the woman. That's fifty g bits for getting you here. Mister,
[0:19] Speaker 1: I have to get some money first, said Renike. What
[0:22] Speaker 1: do I need? I have no ID. You don't need
[0:25] Speaker 1: ID here, mister, this is the hidden zone. The erch
[0:28] Speaker 1: got no ID, no ID, no problem. This is a
[0:32] Speaker 1: very special bank just for people like you. Well, how
[0:35] Speaker 1: do I get money? Asked Riniki, now confused about accessing
[0:38] Speaker 1: anything that may be stored in his POS and dubious
[0:41] Speaker 1: about sharing his identity. The woman laughed. You gotta put
[0:44] Speaker 1: something up, my friend, like my coat, asked Riniki. Nah.
[0:48] Speaker 1: Not in the bank, your software, course or hardware or files, whatever.
[0:52] Speaker 1: Just plug in, give some data, get some g bits
[0:55] Speaker 1: in it. They take apps, software, pos, day to day data.
[0:59] Speaker 1: Is there? Ah? The woman cackled, then sighed, observing Renniki's discomfort.
[1:06] Speaker 1: I'll take you in o kay I know the banker.
[1:09] Speaker 1: Reniki pondered the likelihood of a successful solo effort and
[1:12] Speaker 1: nodded in agreement. The woman bashed on the metal door
[1:15] Speaker 1: and a hatch opened. It's me, Queenie, got a client
[1:18] Speaker 1: for you, big guy. Dark peering eyes checked them up
[1:21] Speaker 1: and down through a small rectangle. Not the animals, said
[1:25] Speaker 1: a loud booming voice after tentatively opening a heavily armored door.
[1:30] Speaker 1: Inside was well guarded by large framed menacing characters. They
[1:34] Speaker 1: were standard issue security droids, the like of older versions
[1:38] Speaker 1: that had been discontinued and recalled, then disassembled and officially
[1:42] Speaker 1: disposed of. Security in the midcasts was controlled by force
[1:46] Speaker 1: fields and lasers, with little need for big, ugly droids.
[1:50] Speaker 1: Riniki was ushered into a small cubicle with an array
[1:53] Speaker 1: of plugs and wires. The woman gestured he should go in,
[1:56] Speaker 1: as she waited near the door under the watchful eye
[1:58] Speaker 1: of the droid. Pos was glitching. Everything in the cubicle
[2:03] Speaker 1: looked antiquated, probably from the early tech years. There was
[2:07] Speaker 1: a chair and Renicky was motioned to sit down. He hesitated.
[2:12] Speaker 1: How does this work? He asked a large droid. The
[2:15] Speaker 1: droid seemed stupefied, slow and sluggish, as if he had
[2:18] Speaker 1: been drained of power. He spoke slowly with slurred words.
[2:21] Speaker 1: There were intermittent beeping noises and error warnings coming from
[2:25] Speaker 1: inside his head. Here is the current exchange rate, said
[2:29] Speaker 1: the droid, pointing to a monitor with flashing figures. As
[2:33] Speaker 1: soon as you are plugged in, we see what you
[2:35] Speaker 1: got and make an offer. Then we transfer you. Get
[2:39] Speaker 1: a voucher here, he pointed to a small printing machine,
[2:42] Speaker 1: Then take it over there and get g bits or
[2:44] Speaker 1: s bits. There were hundreds of wires and plugs, seemingly
[2:48] Speaker 1: for extracting and monitoring every device from the last couple
[2:51] Speaker 1: of centuries, anything from antique video machines to digital clocks,
[2:57] Speaker 1: and hundreds of handset devises seemed to have a lead
[2:59] Speaker 1: on offer. Rinicki spotted the Mark three droid cable and shuddered.
[3:05] Speaker 1: He checked his applications, then all the add ons. He
[3:09] Speaker 1: checked for any temp files he could get rid of.
[3:12] Speaker 1: Then he checked p o s and asked if there
[3:14] Speaker 1: was a clean up they could run. System is currently
[3:16] Speaker 1: set to factory install. Removing program files or data could
[3:20] Speaker 1: be detrimental to smooth function. This action is not supported.
[3:24] Speaker 1: More searching, then finally one file found unknown origin possible
[3:29] Speaker 1: memory file from last os appears surplus to current operational needs,
[3:34] Speaker 1: but I am unable to access file contents. The big
[3:37] Speaker 1: droid began clicking its fingers slowly and grimacing. His equally
[3:41] Speaker 1: thuglike colleague approached and joined in. The woman, looking restless
[3:46] Speaker 1: by the door, ushered Rennicky to hurry up. Can we
[3:49] Speaker 1: operate without it? Rennicky asked, There is a possibility, according
[3:53] Speaker 1: to my calculations, of serious malfunction. The droids move closer
[3:57] Speaker 1: and the clicking intensified.
