In this episode of The Terry Stone Connection, we sit down with actor, writer and Newcastle native Steve Wraith for a raw and honest conversation about crime, culture, and the myths surrounding Britain’s most infamous gangsters. We talk openly about The Krays, questioning whether they’ve been misunderstood, mythologised, or deliberately glamorised, and we explore how organised crime is often remembered very differently from how it was actually lived. We also dive into Newcastle’s underworld, the realities behind the stories, and the gap between on-screen portrayals and real life. With experience as both a writer and an actor, Steve gives us a unique insight into how crime narratives are created, sold, and consumed. This is a no-nonsense discussion about reputation, reality, and the lasting impact of Britain’s criminal past. Let us know what you think in the comments, were The Krays misunderstood, or do they deserve their legacy? Subscribe to The Terry Stone Connection for more real conversations, true crime, and untold underworld stories. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
