[1:12] Speaker 1: Welcome back to this episode of Debo and Joe. I'm
[1:16] Speaker 1: your host, James Debo Harrison. I'm here with my co-host,
[1:20] Speaker 1: Joe Hayden.
[1:21] Speaker 2: Please.
[1:22] Speaker 1: Make sure you like, subscribe, and download where you get
[1:26] Speaker 1: your show.
[1:27] Speaker 2: How you doing today, Joe? I'm doing great, Brother Deebo.
[1:31] Speaker 2: I'm doing good. Another great day that the Lord has made.
[1:33] Speaker 2: I'm here to rejoice and be glad I'm in it.
[1:36] Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
[1:37] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I'm here with you, baby. I am here
[1:39] Speaker 2: with you. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Let's hear it, brother.
[1:42] Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and let these people know that my guy,
[1:46] Speaker 1: our guy, E. Landon Roberts, will be here At 1130.
[1:52] Speaker 1: So what we will do now is we will jump
[1:56] Speaker 1: into Monday Night Football.
[1:58] Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
[2:00] Speaker 1: And talk about the Cowboys and the Eagles. Probably more
[2:04] Speaker 1: Cowboys than the Eagles. And the Cowboys jumped on the Eagles.
[2:09] Speaker 2: They went on ahead.
[2:10] Speaker 1: 38-21.
[2:10] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I'm going to be honest with you, brother. Yes. I.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Did not expect the game to be as close as
[2:20] Speaker 1: it was for as long as it was.
[2:22] Speaker 2: Me either. Yeah, yeah.
[2:24] Speaker 1: So what we got here, Joe, is a failure to
[2:29] Speaker 1: get things done. I guess the Cowboys, they ain't doing
[2:34] Speaker 1: too well, obviously. The defense is basically doing the same
[2:37] Speaker 1: thing they were doing last year. But they came through
[2:42] Speaker 1: with the win, and they did by having– back throw
[2:46] Speaker 1: less and they actually ran the ball bro like the
[2:50] Speaker 1: boy what was his name williams yes 150 what five
[2:55] Speaker 1: yards um well we got 25 carries tutty added with
[3:01] Speaker 1: it i guess this is the first time they had
[3:03] Speaker 1: 150 yard rusher since ezekiel ellie in 2018 bro yes
[3:11] Speaker 1: what did you see joe what i.
[3:12] Speaker 2: Would This is what it is, Evo. If you can
[3:17] Speaker 2: control the line of scrimmage, you're going to win the game. So,
[3:21] Speaker 2: they ran the ball really well. Obviously, early on, did
[3:25] Speaker 2: you see... Did you see them dudes, when I'm telling you...
[3:28] Speaker 2: When you see the slant, if you believe in it,
[3:30] Speaker 2: jump it. Dak almost threw a couple of them slants,
[3:33] Speaker 2: and them dudes believing in it. Because sometimes, if you
[3:37] Speaker 2: don't let them cross the face, you're going to get
[3:38] Speaker 2: a pick. So, early on, they was jumping the slants.
[3:42] Speaker 2: They were jumping those routes. So... It showed me that Dallas,
[3:45] Speaker 2: you don't want Dak to have to sit back and
[3:47] Speaker 2: throw it 37 times. Because at the end of the game,
[3:50] Speaker 2: by the end, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens showed that
[3:54] Speaker 2: they can obviously make the miraculous catches. They was head-topping
[3:57] Speaker 2: them boys. Dak can throw the ball. When you need it,
[4:01] Speaker 2: he can do it. But to maintain it, it always
[4:04] Speaker 2: starts with the running game. You got to be able
[4:06] Speaker 2: to run the ball. So Dallas just dogged them with
[4:08] Speaker 2: the run game. Philly was out there looking kind of weak.
[4:12] Speaker 2: They were looking good at the beginning. But then it's just,
[4:14] Speaker 2: you know, it came to fruition. Dude, they ain't had nobody.
[4:21] Speaker 1: Saquon, he was playing hurt.
[4:23] Speaker 2: That's what I wanted to say about my dog, Saquon. Deebo,
[4:27] Speaker 2: this is why we say, too, that you got to
[4:31] Speaker 2: protect the players from their self. Because Saquon Barkley out there,
[4:35] Speaker 2: when you say Saquon Barkley out there, 80% is better.
[4:37] Speaker 2: But I'm looking at him. Not 100%. His hamstring, when
[4:42] Speaker 2: he broke out, he runs smooth as, he runs as
[4:47] Speaker 2: smooth as De'Jon Robinson. When he gets into the open field,
[4:50] Speaker 2: that's what we love about Saquon. He's strong. He's fast.
[4:53] Speaker 2: He can make those cuts. And when he gets into
[4:54] Speaker 2: the open field, he can just slide. Him seeing like
[4:57] Speaker 2: that and knowing, like, I'm being careful. I'm protecting myself.
[5:00] Speaker 2: That first play, he broke out, dude. And they caught
[5:02] Speaker 2: his leg. And he hopped up a little bit. And
[5:04] Speaker 2: he hopped. Dude, normally, he's house. He's out of there.
[5:08] Speaker 2: He's in cruise control. He's turning to the B. John Robinson,
[5:11] Speaker 2: relaxing his face, taking it to the house. So, like, I.
[5:17] Speaker 2: I wanted him, just think, they still got they ass whooped, right?
[5:21] Speaker 2: If you let him wait and rest for one more
[5:24] Speaker 2: week and just, he was like right there at 80%.
[5:27] Speaker 2: Get at him one more week and then you can
[5:30] Speaker 2: get 100% Saquon Barkley back. Instead of getting the 50%
[5:34] Speaker 2: Saquon where you can get him in there. He's eventually
[5:37] Speaker 2: going to hurt his soft tissue. Like you can't go
[5:40] Speaker 2: out there and baby it. Cause like, I'm like, that's
[5:42] Speaker 2: not Saquon Barkley. We're going to want you to be
[5:44] Speaker 2: what you can be. And he did amazing. Cause then
[5:47] Speaker 2: the next one, he ended up hopping, hopping back, juking
[5:50] Speaker 2: and hitting 19 to beat him to the corner. I'm like, damn,
[5:53] Speaker 2: but you still saw him like pulling his leg a
[5:56] Speaker 2: little bit, like not, Not in cruise control. Not Saquon.
[5:58] Speaker 1: That definitely slowed down, you know, his process of being
[6:01] Speaker 1: able to heal. It made it worse, obviously. He went in, what,
[6:05] Speaker 1: nine times, seven carries. What are we talking about? That's
[6:09] Speaker 1: the part that blew me. Because I'm like, Saquon, he's like,
[6:12] Speaker 1: I just know I got to be out there for
[6:13] Speaker 1: my team. That's when you have to protect the player
[6:16] Speaker 1: from himself because it's not going to get his hamstring
[6:18] Speaker 1: any better.
[6:19] Speaker 2: He's sitting there shooting the jump, probably shooting his little tushy,
[6:23] Speaker 2: going to the sideline. You see him riding the bike
[6:25] Speaker 2: after everything, putting the heat on it. I'm like... it's not,
[6:28] Speaker 2: you're not healing your hands. That's not going to get
[6:30] Speaker 2: it better. And then you're going back out there and
[6:32] Speaker 2: I love it because he wants to play. He doesn't
[6:35] Speaker 2: want to hurt his team. Saquon wants to play. So
[6:38] Speaker 2: it's not, you not wanting to play Saquon. It's when
[6:41] Speaker 2: you do play, we want you to be able to
[6:42] Speaker 2: get out there and go into cruise control and hit
[6:45] Speaker 2: the open field. Cause I know you want to, but
[6:47] Speaker 2: you're like, no, I'm not, I don't want to blow it.
[6:49] Speaker 2: You go out there and just pull your whole hand.
[6:50] Speaker 2: And then, and then what? You know what I'm saying?
[6:52] Speaker 2: So I, that, that right there, when I was watching,
[6:55] Speaker 2: I was like, Well, he definitely strained it again. I
[6:58] Speaker 2: had to. Yeah, for sure, for sure. Sit your ass down. Yeah,
[7:03] Speaker 2: the offensive line, you know, they did their thing. They
[7:06] Speaker 2: controlled the line of scrimmage. You know, what was it?
[7:08] Speaker 1: They rushed for a total of 204 yards, 5.4 carry.
[7:14] Speaker 1: They averaged only, what was it, 76 coming into this game.
[7:21] Speaker 1: So that's a huge, huge make-up. No sacks on Dak.
[7:26] Speaker 1: 8-13 on third down, 416 yards of total offense. I
[7:30] Speaker 1: think they had 23 first downs, 11 rushing, 12 passing,
[7:37] Speaker 1: and that 15 of, what, 27, 2-12, three touchdowns, and
[7:42] Speaker 1: no interceptions. The defense, though, the defense, the defense run game, like, it's–
[7:52] Speaker 1: it's about the same as it was last.
[7:54] Speaker 2: Year, but it's just, it's just like the defense itself. Totally.
[7:58] Speaker 2: It's still what it was last year. It's, it's trash, man.
[8:01] Speaker 1: Like, I mean, they gave up what it was at
[8:05] Speaker 1: 121 Russian, which ain't bad for them, especially, you know,
[8:08] Speaker 1: when you look at it, it's still 30 below what
[8:11] Speaker 1: their average was of 146, 4.8, a rush, almost five
[8:17] Speaker 1: yards of Russ. Hell Barkley was healthy. It, It would
[8:21] Speaker 1: have been a dogfight. They might have lost that game, brother.
[8:24] Speaker 1: It would have been a dogfight for way longer than
[8:25] Speaker 1: it was. The man only has, what, six carries, seven carries, dude,
[8:29] Speaker 1: for 62 yards. Like, nine a carry? Bro, the first drive.
[8:33] Speaker 2: Damn near nine a carry, bro. If that was a
[8:35] Speaker 2: healthy Saquon, he would have took the first joint to
[8:37] Speaker 2: the crib. It took him a couple to get it
[8:39] Speaker 2: down there, and he still scored. So, healthy Saquon, it
[8:42] Speaker 2: would have been ugly for them. But at the same time,
[8:45] Speaker 2: Eagles defense out there looking. They got names and face.
[8:48] Speaker 2: They out there healthy. You know what I'm saying? Like
[8:50] Speaker 2: it's still getting bombed away. So they got to just,
[8:53] Speaker 2: they have to perform. You know what I'm saying? Like Dean,
[8:55] Speaker 2: there was no, they had no, they had no sacks.
[9:02] Speaker 1: Yeah. Their defense is not, it's, it's, it's, it's not
[9:04] Speaker 1: conducive to them getting, getting any further. Like they aren't
[9:08] Speaker 1: disciplined or they out of position or maybe, I don't know, dude,
[9:12] Speaker 1: maybe the defense is just deficient. Maybe it's designed poorly
[9:16] Speaker 1: or something. I don't know because you're seeing the same thing. Basically,
[9:19] Speaker 1: The last two years, you add on top, they're getting
[9:23] Speaker 1: penalties to help them continue drives.
[9:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, bro, it's bad, bro. The only part that makes
[9:32] Speaker 2: it good for the Dallas Cowboys and the Eagles is
[9:35] Speaker 2: their divisions. They trash. The division is trash. So when
[9:39] Speaker 2: you plan against them, you got time to develop. The
[9:41] Speaker 2: Cowboys is looking. They still can put up 38. You
[9:44] Speaker 2: see they know we got Dak. OK, if we can
[9:47] Speaker 2: run the ball, our offense is equipped to be able
[9:49] Speaker 2: to put up 38 points. OK, now we have CD.
[9:52] Speaker 2: We have that. We have the running game. We can
[9:54] Speaker 2: get our offensive line doing this with this division. We
[9:57] Speaker 2: can still make something happen with the Eagles. I'm like,
[10:00] Speaker 2: you got your squad, you got, it's just a lot
[10:03] Speaker 2: of injuries. Too much is going on with them. You
[10:05] Speaker 2: got blood clots, you got your man that you're trying
[10:07] Speaker 2: to force Saquon out there playing 50%. let this man chill. Y'all,
[10:13] Speaker 2: it's not looking good. Let the players that are healthy
[10:15] Speaker 2: out there play. But then, on the defensive side, your
[10:17] Speaker 2: healthy players aren't playing well. That you're playing, that you're
[10:20] Speaker 2: paying handsomely. So it's like, it's just all looking bad.
[10:23] Speaker 1: Well, you gotta realize, you know, I mean, I ain't
[10:26] Speaker 1: gonna say, like, Dallas offense ain't no slouch.
[10:28] Speaker 2: They wasn't no slouch. Dallas offense is not no slouch
[10:31] Speaker 2: at all.
[10:32] Speaker 1: They still doing almost 350 a game. I think last
[10:35] Speaker 1: year they were closer to 400. But that's the big difference, too. Now,
[10:40] Speaker 1: they're looking worse because the offense can't make up for
[10:44] Speaker 1: how deficient the defense is. Last year, they finished at
[10:46] Speaker 1: a two. Dak was throwing for like damn near 260,
[10:51] Speaker 1: 270 yards a game. You know, they were averaging close
[10:54] Speaker 1: to 400, you know, and now they're at a 10.
[10:58] Speaker 1: And the biggest thing is the rush game. Their rush
[11:00] Speaker 1: game is almost 30, 30 yards less average as of
[11:05] Speaker 1: right now per rush. So that takes away what you're
[11:08] Speaker 1: able to do if you can't get them off of
[11:10] Speaker 1: being able to defend the pass as much as they
[11:13] Speaker 1: need to because they're not worried about the rush. Like,
[11:16] Speaker 1: if they're worried about the rush, they got to put
[11:17] Speaker 1: more up there. That'll open up the opportunities to get
[11:20] Speaker 1: to the pass.
[11:21] Speaker 2: Listen here. Listen here. The offense, we're talking about Cowboys
[11:26] Speaker 2: right here. I'm talking about Cowboys defense. Cowboys defense. Listen here.
[11:31] Speaker 2: Cowboys defense. We got Joey Porter Jr. out there that's
[11:34] Speaker 2: getting a little comfortable. I'm not mad at him. He's
[11:36] Speaker 2: getting in his bag. He's not trying to let nobody
[11:38] Speaker 2: catch the ball. Downs. You know what I'm saying? Young
[11:41] Speaker 2: player getting into his, he, he doesn't want to not play.
[11:43] Speaker 2: He got his, make some, make some tackles, make his plays.
[11:45] Speaker 2: The big boy, 92 on the line, like their linebacker,
[11:49] Speaker 2: you see his, his, the pick, they, they have some talent.
[11:52] Speaker 2: So it's like, they understand they might go and make
[11:55] Speaker 2: it to the playoffs, but when they get there, make it,
[11:57] Speaker 2: they got, they had to get belted. You know what
[11:59] Speaker 2: I'm saying? Like they out there.
[12:01] Speaker 1: I don't even think they make the playoffs.
[12:05] Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah. Yeah.
[12:07] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[12:07] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[12:08] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[12:08] Speaker 2: Yeah. You got the giants, you got the Eagles, you
[12:11] Speaker 2: got the commanders and you got, you have to pick one.
[12:14] Speaker 2: So I'm just saying out of, out of, if out
[12:17] Speaker 2: of them, I'm liking them. Cause they got that. They
[12:19] Speaker 2: got that. You can run the ball with Williams for
[12:22] Speaker 2: 155 yards. you got CD on the outside, and you
[12:25] Speaker 2: got George. So it's like, that's the way, you know
[12:28] Speaker 2: what I'm saying? You're going to be able to put
[12:30] Speaker 2: up points, I think, out of this division. Yeah, yeah,
[12:34] Speaker 2: for sure. Look here, man.
[12:37] Speaker 1: My guy, Aaron Rodgers, man, he called out, I guess,
[12:40] Speaker 1: the NFL.
[12:41] Speaker 2: He had this to say right here, listen, after the
[12:43] Speaker 2: game last week.
[12:47] Speaker 4: Yeah, and there was talk about doing a week, an
[12:50] Speaker 4: international week, where you had games... in 16 different places
[12:53] Speaker 4: and you just added an extra bye week. So you
[12:56] Speaker 4: play 16 regular season, you have two bye weeks. One
[12:58] Speaker 4: of those weeks have been an international week. I think
[13:00] Speaker 4: it'd been phenomenal for the game now that the owners
[13:02] Speaker 4: wanted to push for 17 games for the extra revenue
[13:06] Speaker 4: and because they care so much about player safety. I
[13:09] Speaker 4: wish there was a mandate though from the league and
[13:12] Speaker 4: they would have to open up their pocketbooks too, which,
[13:15] Speaker 4: you know, maybe they'll look tight on money and stuff,
[13:17] Speaker 4: but I think they should mandate every team coming over
[13:21] Speaker 4: Sunday or Monday. to really enjoy the culture and the
[13:25] Speaker 4: place you're going. And you can do events in those
[13:29] Speaker 4: cities and outreach stuff and community work, but they won't
[13:34] Speaker 4: because they're a little tight.
[13:38] Speaker 1: He said, it sounds like he said them boys don't
[13:41] Speaker 1: care and they tight.
[13:43] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Like, hey, you got it.
[13:47] Speaker 1: The whole player safety initiative thing, you know, that started
[13:51] Speaker 1: because they was worried about safety.
[13:52] Speaker 2: No, that started because they was worried about money. You
[13:56] Speaker 2: go all the.
[13:57] Speaker 1: Way back to 1994, you know, when they put together
[14:00] Speaker 1: a committee to study these concussions, you know, and it
[14:03] Speaker 1: was called, it was called, listen, it was called a
[14:09] Speaker 1: research study for mild traumatic brain injury. I ain't never
[14:14] Speaker 1: heard of mild traumatic brain injury until I saw that.
[14:17] Speaker 1: They just called it TBI. Now it's traumatic brain injury.
[14:19] Speaker 1: I don't know what we'd be mild about. Anyway, if
[14:24] Speaker 1: you do that and you go all the way back,
[14:26] Speaker 1: I think it's what is it?
[14:28] Speaker 2: I think it was what they say, 2007. It came out.
[14:33] Speaker 1: Where they had a actual research study where it was
[14:36] Speaker 1: like 2,500 NFL retired players. And it was reported that
[14:43] Speaker 1: if you had three or more concussions, you know, that
[14:47] Speaker 1: was a significant issue for players to have what they
[14:55] Speaker 1: call a risk for depression.
[14:58] Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah.
[14:59] Speaker 1: So, of course, the NFL and their medical experts, you know,
[15:02] Speaker 1: challenged the research.
[15:04] Speaker 2: And, you know, by then it was kind of too late.
[15:06] Speaker 2: It got out to the public.
[15:08] Speaker 1: You know, it was it was it was on documentation now.
[15:11] Speaker 2: So they was like, OK.
[15:16] Speaker 1: Well, we're going to go ahead and we're going to
[15:18] Speaker 1: put in a concussion. That's when they started making to
[15:20] Speaker 1: where you get a concussion, you can't come back.
[15:22] Speaker 2: In the game.
[15:23] Speaker 1: They started making the rules where you got to get
[15:25] Speaker 1: the tent, you know, all that stuff.
[15:27] Speaker 2: You can't you can't get back. You can't get back
[15:30] Speaker 2: in the game.
[15:30] Speaker 1: OK, but they did that because they saw a storm
[15:34] Speaker 1: coming in 2011. That was the first time they had
[15:39] Speaker 1: a major lawsuit filed against them.
[15:41] Speaker 2: And I think that was in July of 2011.
[15:44] Speaker 1: OK, now it was later found out that in the
[15:49] Speaker 1: court documents through the process of them doing all that,
[15:51] Speaker 1: They actually identified in October 29th of 2010, okay, was
[16:00] Speaker 1: the first documented warning that the NFL knew for sure
[16:06] Speaker 1: that this was going to happen, okay?
[16:10] Speaker 2: All right.
[16:10] Speaker 1: That's just when they could prove that it was actual documented, okay?
[16:15] Speaker 2: Now, go back and.
[16:17] Speaker 1: Lo and behold, October 19th, 2010, Roger Goodell changes the
[16:26] Speaker 1: rules mid-game on what the fine schedule is for hits.
[16:33] Speaker 1: I get fined $ 75, 000.
[16:35] Speaker 2: Okay. Yes. On a play that wasn't even flagged. It
[16:39] Speaker 2: was a flag thrown on the.
[16:41] Speaker 1: Play, but it was for the center kicking the ball
[16:44] Speaker 1: out of bounds. I wasn't fined on that play. Now,
[16:48] Speaker 1: Dante Robinson, I think that was Atlanta. I think it was.
[16:51] Speaker 1: He was fined 50K. And Brandon Merriweather, he was fined 50K.
[16:58] Speaker 1: Theirs was flagged. Those fines should have been max $ 7, 500.
[17:03] Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
[17:06] Speaker 1: And my hit, it wasn't fine, even though they could
[17:08] Speaker 1: have went back and did it. But at that point
[17:11] Speaker 1: in time, I considered it to be 100% legal, Joe.
[17:14] Speaker 2: Yes. So now you got three players that then got fined.
[17:17] Speaker 1: $ 175, 000 on a rule change that you made on Wednesday
[17:24] Speaker 1: and applied it to a Sunday game that was.
[17:26] Speaker 2: Played the previous Sunday. And it's everywhere, okay? That's crazy.
[17:31] Speaker 2: The normal fine system is $ 5, 7500, okay?
[17:35] Speaker 1: Yes.
[17:35] Speaker 2: All right?
[17:37] Speaker 1: Because if you go back, it was a couple weeks
[17:39] Speaker 1: before that. I think it was like the end of September,
[17:41] Speaker 1: something like that, where Wes Walker had got popped. By
[17:47] Speaker 1: the safety from the Jets or the Giants at the
[17:52] Speaker 1: end of September. They fined him $ 7, 500, right?
[17:55] Speaker 2: Okay. It might have been... Was it TJ? Was it 2010?
[18:00] Speaker 1: It was 2010. I can't remember what... TJ Ward was
[18:03] Speaker 1: slapping people. And I think he might have put somebody...
[18:06] Speaker 1: I think he might have put... All right, never mind.
[18:08] Speaker 2: Go ahead. Keep going, TJ. I think it was the Giants. Anyway,
[18:10] Speaker 2: I know it was the Giants. Or not the Giants,
[18:13] Speaker 2: the Jets. Sorry, it was the Jets. It was the Jets.
[18:15] Speaker 1: Okay, so he got $ 7, 500. Now, obviously, sometime between the
[18:19] Speaker 1: end of September and the documented time of the 29th,
[18:22] Speaker 1: which is proven.
[18:25] Speaker 2: They got that word. Okay? Okay. Wow. Why are you
[18:32] Speaker 2: doing all this?
[18:33] Speaker 1: Because you got to do the public show me campaign. And, hey, look,
[18:38] Speaker 1: we do care about player safety, okay? No.
[18:43] Speaker 2: No, you don't.
[18:44] Speaker 1: You care about being sued and that money that y'all
[18:47] Speaker 1: know y'all coming up with. The CDA 2011, I already
[18:51] Speaker 1: knew they was going to 17 games. I'm telling everybody,
[18:54] Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, man, they about to get these 17 games.
[18:56] Speaker 2: I was saying 18. I said, at some point, they
[18:57] Speaker 2: about to get 18. It's coming. Don't worry about it.
[18:59] Speaker 2: It's coming.
[19:00] Speaker 1: So now, all right, you go and you have concussion data.
[19:07] Speaker 1: And you have all this stuff that shows the NFL
[19:11] Speaker 1: is doing what they should do.
[19:12] Speaker 2: They done made the game safer. You don't have people
[19:15] Speaker 2: getting knocked out.
[19:16] Speaker 1: You don't have everybody seeing these guys laying on the field.
[19:21] Speaker 1: You not really doing nothing about it. You don't have
[19:25] Speaker 1: that anymore. So now they can put out their information.
[19:28] Speaker 1: The game is safer. We can add an extra game now.
[19:32] Speaker 2: Okay?
[19:33] Speaker 3: Because.
[19:34] Speaker 1: all the people see that there's no concussions going on.
[19:37] Speaker 1: It's less, nobody's laid out on the field. We don't
[19:39] Speaker 1: have the eye contact. We don't have the eye test
[19:42] Speaker 1: of the public saying like.
[19:43] Speaker 2: Oh my God.
[19:44] Speaker 1: Now it's not as many concussions. Yes, everything's good. It's
[19:49] Speaker 1: going good. So let's add another game. And now they
[19:54] Speaker 1: use the data that they collected to say, yes, let's
[19:57] Speaker 1: go and do it. Player safety is being safe. We
[20:01] Speaker 1: add 17 games. But what the public sees is the
[20:05] Speaker 1: only thing they really care about, okay? Because we know
[20:10] Speaker 1: Player safety is just not about head trauma. Safety is
[20:15] Speaker 1: about safety, period. Everything is safety, period. Your physical safety,
[20:25] Speaker 1: your mental safety, all that stuff.
[20:29] Speaker 2: Saquon, yesterday, point blank, period.
[20:33] Speaker 1: Yes.
[20:34] Speaker 2: Saquon Barkley. That is safety. Saquon Barkley's safety.
[20:36] Speaker 1: Just because you don't see a guy laying on the field,
[20:39] Speaker 1: first thing they say when the dude is fighting through
[20:41] Speaker 1: an injury and playing, oh my.
[20:43] Speaker 2: Goodness, look at him grid it out and tough it out.
[20:46] Speaker 2: He's doing everything he can. You can see him going
[20:49] Speaker 2: through the pain.
[20:49] Speaker 1: That's not safety. That's not something you should protect him from.
[20:54] Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts. Blood clots. People that's playing with blood clots,
[20:58] Speaker 2: you may not never hear about it. The players, they
[21:01] Speaker 2: not understanding. We are not trying to be snitches at all.
[21:06] Speaker 2: These are our employers. These are who we work for.
[21:09] Speaker 2: So we're not trying to be the one that comes
[21:11] Speaker 2: and drops the ball and just comes and says the
[21:13] Speaker 2: thing out loud that's happening. We're trying to, at the
[21:15] Speaker 2: same time, protect our organization. Sometimes we need people that,
[21:20] Speaker 2: at the end of the day, are going to protect
[21:21] Speaker 2: us from ourselves. We need our mom and our dads,
[21:25] Speaker 2: kind of. Not literally, but somebody that's going to put
[21:28] Speaker 2: it as their child. Would you put your child out there?
[21:32] Speaker 2: Bump the team. Bump what's going on. Look at this man.
[21:36] Speaker 2: Saquon Barkley, for example, he wants to play. Protect that
[21:39] Speaker 2: man for himself. Let this man get one more week,
[21:43] Speaker 2: heal up his hamstring, and next time he goes out there,
[21:46] Speaker 2: he's going to score. That first touchdown when he jumps
[21:48] Speaker 2: up out of there, he's going to feel confident enough
[21:50] Speaker 2: to know, oh, no, my hammy's not going to pull.
[21:52] Speaker 2: It's been rested. Bam, I plant, and I'm out of there.
[21:54] Speaker 2: And you just see him in cruise control. And I'll
[21:56] Speaker 2: be like this. Saquon Barkley saw the doctor, took care
[22:00] Speaker 2: of me. He knew I needed one more week, and
[22:02] Speaker 2: they would get the normal Saquon Barkley out there. It's
[22:04] Speaker 2: like that's the player safety that we're talking about also.
[22:08] Speaker 2: It's not just, like you said, people getting slept out
[22:10] Speaker 2: on the field. Now we're going to take out people's legs.
[22:13] Speaker 2: And I'm going to do what the rules say. What
[22:17] Speaker 2: Coach Tom was like is we're just going to, we
[22:19] Speaker 2: can't change what they're telling us to do. So we're
[22:21] Speaker 2: going to have to play within the rules because I'm
[22:23] Speaker 2: not trying to get flagged. I'm not trying to get fined.
[22:26] Speaker 2: If you're going to tell me what I can do,
[22:28] Speaker 2: I'm trying to play within the rules so I can
[22:30] Speaker 2: make plays and I can do my job the best
[22:33] Speaker 2: I can do it. So now when I'm saying I'm
[22:36] Speaker 2: going to take somebody's legs out because now I'm going
[22:38] Speaker 2: to wipe out their legs and I know that's going
[22:40] Speaker 2: to tackle them no matter what. I'm not going to
[22:42] Speaker 2: be able to hit them in the ribs or wrap
[22:44] Speaker 2: them up because these dudes are bigger than me. So
[22:46] Speaker 2: the way that I could normally hit him was I
[22:48] Speaker 2: could catch him up top and then his lower body
[22:50] Speaker 2: would swing down. I can't hit him in the middle
[22:53] Speaker 2: because if I hit him in the middle, it was
[22:54] Speaker 2: going to bounce off of him. I'm going to ricochet.
[22:56] Speaker 2: Like I'm not going to make that tackle. So I'm
[22:58] Speaker 2: going to have to go around his knee a little
[23:00] Speaker 2: bit lower where it's going to swipe him under.
[23:02] Speaker 5: Right.
[23:03] Speaker 2: I come down and I'm not trying to hurt this man,
[23:05] Speaker 2: but I'm trying to tackle this man and I'm trying
[23:08] Speaker 2: to do my job.
[23:09] Speaker 1: When it comes down to it, Joe, here's the thing.
[23:12] Speaker 1: Until the NFLPA gets some real leadership in there and
[23:16] Speaker 1: have people in there that are actually worried about the
[23:18] Speaker 1: players and their needs and have enough common sense to
[23:21] Speaker 1: do what's necessary and make real safety.
[23:26] Speaker 2: Top to bottom, not negotiable, which probably won't.
[23:30] Speaker 1: Happen until after the 2023 a 2030 season where they're
[23:35] Speaker 1: going to end up having the lockout. So the NFL
[23:38] Speaker 1: PA should actually be informing these players, save your money
[23:41] Speaker 1: so that you could last through 18 month period of
[23:43] Speaker 1: a lockout.
[23:44] Speaker 2: Okay.
[23:44] Speaker 1: Because if they don't do that, it's not going to happen.
[23:48] Speaker 1: They won't get what they want. It's TV contracts.
[23:50] Speaker 2: That's on a line. They are not going to let that.
[23:52] Speaker 1: Season go a whole season because then they run into
[23:55] Speaker 1: issues of dealing with money and having to pay money back.
[23:58] Speaker 2: That's what it comes down to at the end of it.
[24:00] Speaker 1: But what I want to tell you right now, is
[24:03] Speaker 1: that your former corner DB, I met him, had a
[24:14] Speaker 1: good time with him. Oh, you talking about the original dog.
[24:18] Speaker 1: Sanford Dixon out here talking wild, talking about, man, listen to.
[24:26] Speaker 2: This.
[24:27] Speaker 3: And I don't give a damn what anybody say the
[24:29] Speaker 3: Steelers can't beat us. They can't beat us. I don't
[24:32] Speaker 3: care if we play them in Cleveland. I don't care
[24:34] Speaker 3: if we play them in Pittsburgh. I don't care if
[24:36] Speaker 3: we play them in Paris. We can play them wherever
[24:38] Speaker 3: we want. They cannot beat. And I think right now
[24:41] Speaker 3: we intimidate them. I think they're afraid of us.
[24:44] Speaker 2: They really do. And I love every minute of it.
[24:48] Speaker 1: Man.
[24:49] Speaker 2: Man, man, man. That's the original dog. What is you doing, Dixon?
[24:55] Speaker 1: We talked about this when I met up with you, man.
[24:58] Speaker 1: We did the whole thing around Cleveland, around the practice squad,
[25:02] Speaker 1: with Peyton Manning, taxi squad, all that. I thought we
[25:05] Speaker 1: had a good time. I thought we saw, understood, had
[25:10] Speaker 1: good conversation.
[25:11] Speaker 2: We laughed. We joked.
[25:13] Speaker 1: I told you my deepest, darkest Browns fan story about
[25:17] Speaker 1: how my heart was broke as a child, okay? As we,
[25:21] Speaker 1: because I was a fan with you of my hometown team,
[25:25] Speaker 1: went through a beat. Not a beatdown, but a loss
[25:32] Speaker 1: in the AFC championship game. How I felt the pain.
[25:35] Speaker 1: You felt the pain, okay? And we lost to Denver.
[25:38] Speaker 1: And we shared our dislike to John Elway. That was
[25:42] Speaker 1: supposed to be our Super Bowl. I thought we was friends.
[25:45] Speaker 2: Now you're talking crazy. You know why, though? Hanford don't
[25:52] Speaker 2: have no loyalty to the Steelers. He don't have no loyalty.
[25:55] Speaker 2: He's the original dog. Him, Frank Minifield, they started the
[26:00] Speaker 2: dog pound. And that's the type of energy I was
[26:02] Speaker 2: expecting from an original dog. Duh. Okay. Oh, my goodness. Okay.
[26:08] Speaker 1: Okay.
[26:08] Speaker 2: Bruh. Bruh. How old is Hanford? He got it. God, man.
[26:12] Speaker 1: Man, he at least 70.
[26:16] Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness. There you go. How old is he? Man, no. Man.
[26:19] Speaker 2: Y'all about the same. Y'all ain't played the same? You
[26:23] Speaker 2: ain't never played against him? You ain't played against him? Huh? Huh?
[26:29] Speaker 1: What you saying? I just told you I was a
[26:32] Speaker 1: kid watching the game, Joe.
[26:34] Speaker 2: You dirty dog, you. I just told you. I played
[26:37] Speaker 2: for a long time. You done seen, you might have
[26:39] Speaker 2: watched them as a kid growing up. I shed tears, Joe. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
[26:44] Speaker 2: I thought you played with me. Bernie Kozol, where's the slaughter?
[26:47] Speaker 2: Come on, man. Yeah, yeah. What are you talking about?
[26:50] Speaker 2: Original dog. Okay, no, yeah, you ain't played with the
[26:52] Speaker 2: original dogs. Go ahead, Hanford. Joe, what was that game? 88, 86, 89,
[27:02] Speaker 2: something like that? Oh, maybe 80. Okay, 89. I was
[27:06] Speaker 2: born in 89. I'm an 80s baby. Yeah, you was
[27:08] Speaker 2: probably 10. You was 10. You was 10. Crying, watching
[27:11] Speaker 2: the Browns, big fan. And look at you doing that.
[27:24] Speaker 2: I grew up.
[27:25] Speaker 1: I became a man. I let childish things go. At
[27:29] Speaker 1: some point, you got to grow up. What are you
[27:35] Speaker 1: talking about?
[27:36] Speaker 2: No, man. My dog, half a Dixon don't got no
[27:40] Speaker 2: reason to be sitting here talking about distillers. And I
[27:42] Speaker 2: respect it. Original dog. This is what I'm talking about, man.
[27:48] Speaker 6: Y'all go and y'all get a little bit of success
[27:55] Speaker 6: and y'all let it run to y'all head and y'all
[27:57] Speaker 6: start talking about somebody scared of y'all?
[27:59] Speaker 2: No, no, no. I never said scared. That never came
[28:03] Speaker 2: out of my mouth because I know another girl. I'm
[28:05] Speaker 2: never talking crazy like that, Deebo.
[28:07] Speaker 6: Never.
[28:09] Speaker 2: We got hitters over there. Can we play that back?
[28:15] Speaker 1: Didn't Joe say he was telling the truth?
[28:17] Speaker 2: No, I did not. You ain't co-signed that. Let me
[28:21] Speaker 2: tell you something. You ain't co-signed that. I'm not co-signing that.
[28:24] Speaker 2: You co-signed that bullshit, Joe. I told, no. When it
[28:27] Speaker 2: came back. I said I would expect nothing less from
[28:30] Speaker 2: an original dog. That's what I said. Coming up.
[28:34] Speaker 3: And I don't give a damn what anybody said. The
[28:36] Speaker 3: Steelers can't beat us. They can't beat us. I don't
[28:39] Speaker 3: care if we play them in Cleveland. I don't care
[28:41] Speaker 3: if we play them in Pittsburgh. I don't care if
[28:43] Speaker 3: we play them in Paris. We can play them wherever
[28:45] Speaker 3: we want. They cannot beat us. And I think right
[28:48] Speaker 3: now we intimidate them. I think they're afraid of us.
[28:52] Speaker 2: I really do. And I love every minute of it. Afraid? Yo,
[28:57] Speaker 2: I don't fear no man but God. man at Debo
[29:02] Speaker 2: and I we're gonna get.
[29:03] Speaker 1: Back to this man my guy our guy yes sir
[29:08] Speaker 1: Elandon Robert inside linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers is here
[29:12] Speaker 1: E thank you for coming on brother appreciate you giving
[29:17] Speaker 1: us some time how you.
[29:19] Speaker 5: Doing man I'm all good fellas man you know I'm
[29:21] Speaker 5: a big fan of the show you know obviously uh Deebo,
[29:24] Speaker 5: you was my teammate when we was in New England together.
[29:27] Speaker 5: So we got a relationship. You know, I always looked
[29:30] Speaker 5: at Joe. You know, I think I was in the
[29:34] Speaker 5: NFL PA boat when they still had that. And I
[29:38] Speaker 5: seen Joe out there training and caddling. getting it in,
[29:41] Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying? And stuff like that.
[29:43] Speaker 2: So I always looked at both of our boys, man.
[29:46] Speaker 5: And it's, I appreciate the opportunity coming on.
[29:49] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. Thank you, brother. Go ahead. Yo, I was
[29:54] Speaker 2: going to ask this, too, because I didn't know. I
[29:57] Speaker 2: was doing my little bit of research on you, E-Man,
[29:59] Speaker 2: and you did your freshman year at Morgan State? Yeah,
[30:02] Speaker 2: I did my freshman season at Morgan State. My mom
[30:05] Speaker 2: and dad went to Morgan, and my best friends, like
[30:08] Speaker 2: all my friends went to Morgan, and that's where my
[30:10] Speaker 2: parents met, and they got married there. I wanted to
[30:11] Speaker 2: ask you, how was your time at Morgan? How'd you
[30:13] Speaker 2: end up getting there from Houston? I mean, from Texas. Man,
[30:16] Speaker 2: look at here. So, you know.
[30:19] Speaker 5: One thing about Texas, man, they teach you how to
[30:22] Speaker 5: get around the loophole, you know?
[30:24] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I was in, you know, coming out of
[30:27] Speaker 2: high school.
[30:28] Speaker 5: I was kind of late qualified when you had to
[30:31] Speaker 5: do the clearing out stuff. So my dad was like, man,
[30:34] Speaker 5: you're not going to JUCO. We're not doing that because
[30:36] Speaker 5: you'll be stuck. And you qualified in Texas. You had
[30:38] Speaker 5: to stay two years back then. So, man, Morgan State College.
[30:44] Speaker 5: And before I went, they had to agree to, after
[30:46] Speaker 5: my first year, after that first semester, they released me.
[30:49] Speaker 5: And I can go to any school and whatnot.
[30:52] Speaker 2: So, yeah.
[30:53] Speaker 5: I wanted to give my thing. You know what I'm saying?
[30:55] Speaker 5: I had a good time with Morgan, man. I even
[30:58] Speaker 5: liked the school. Once I retire, man, I'm going to
[31:02] Speaker 5: go back and go to a homecoming, something like that,
[31:04] Speaker 5: get back to the school, man.
[31:05] Speaker 2: I really enjoy Morgan. My friends went to Morgan from
[31:08] Speaker 2: 08 to 2012, so you probably might know some of
[31:11] Speaker 2: the same people. We're chopping up all life for sure,
[31:13] Speaker 2: but there's good folks out there, bro, for sure. Real
[31:15] Speaker 2: good folks.
[31:15] Speaker 5: I ain't going to lie to you, man. I'm from
[31:17] Speaker 5: Fort Arthur, Texas. I'm thinking we tough. I went to Baltimore,
[31:21] Speaker 5: and I stayed inside, my boy. I stayed inside, my boy.
[31:27] Speaker 5: They different. Look, one time we got stuck on Somebody
[31:33] Speaker 5: from off campus ran on campus like that, man. Look,
[31:35] Speaker 5: a whole bunch of stuff going on. They helicoptered around
[31:38] Speaker 5: the campus. I said, yeah, I got one semester here
[31:40] Speaker 5: for sure.
[31:42] Speaker 2: For sure. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Look here, man. You
[31:45] Speaker 2: got to Houston. You did your thing in Houston, obviously.
[31:48] Speaker 1: So your senior year, bruh, you were fourth nationally, bruh.
[31:55] Speaker 2: 142 tackles. You was actually number one. Solos. with solo
[31:59] Speaker 2: tackles with 88, bro.
[32:01] Speaker 1: Like, that transition from going from Morgan to Houston and
[32:07] Speaker 1: then having that success and then ending up going to
[32:10] Speaker 1: New England and being a six-round draft choice, like, were
[32:14] Speaker 1: you disappointed when that happened? And how much motivation did
[32:18] Speaker 1: that give.
[32:19] Speaker 2: You if you worked? Man, it gave me a lot because,
[32:21] Speaker 2: believe called. No lie.
[32:25] Speaker 5: The Cleveland Browns called me and was like, hey, you know,
[32:28] Speaker 5: we're going to do this.
[32:30] Speaker 2: They knew something. They knew something.
[32:31] Speaker 5: You know, we got to move some pieces around, but
[32:33] Speaker 5: we really want to, you know what I'm saying, have
[32:35] Speaker 5: you a part of it.
[32:35] Speaker 2: So I'm like, cool. You know?
[32:37] Speaker 5: And the whole second day, man, I watched the draft.
[32:40] Speaker 5: I'm like, Phone ain't gone, but I knew I had
[32:42] Speaker 5: a second and third round grade. And then what was crazy, Foot,
[32:46] Speaker 5: Larry Foot, man, I just talked to Foot in Tampa.
[32:49] Speaker 5: He was like, man, we like, he was like, yeah,
[32:51] Speaker 5: you dropped to the sixth, but we had a second
[32:53] Speaker 5: day grade on you too when he was in Arizona. So, man, honestly, Deebo, man,
[32:59] Speaker 5: and Joe, coming from just always just we wanted to
[33:04] Speaker 5: be a part of The NFL wanted to be a
[33:07] Speaker 5: part of that whole hidden culture. I wanted to have
[33:11] Speaker 5: an opportunity to be feared as a player. Man, once
[33:14] Speaker 5: I got that call and once I got the opportunity, man,
[33:17] Speaker 5: it was all. I was like, I'm good. I'm good
[33:20] Speaker 5: with it. I'll make up on the back end. You
[33:22] Speaker 5: know what I'm saying?
[33:23] Speaker 2: Okay. For sure.
[33:24] Speaker 1: I ain't going to lie to you. You made up
[33:27] Speaker 1: on the back end. You became the only player. to
[33:31] Speaker 1: enter the NFL, bruh, and go to three consecutive Super
[33:35] Speaker 1: Bowls straight from your rookie year to back to back
[33:39] Speaker 1: to back Super Bowls, bruh. And with you getting into
[33:43] Speaker 1: New England and you being through, you know, other teams
[33:46] Speaker 1: now and seeing how New England operated that.
[33:51] Speaker 2: Culture, that championship culture.
[33:53] Speaker 1: What made them, you know, so much better? better or
[33:59] Speaker 1: what made that organization with Bill and everything else so
[34:03] Speaker 1: much different. Because for me, as soon as I got there,
[34:06] Speaker 1: you know, my biggest thing that I told people, I'm like, yo,
[34:09] Speaker 1: it's discipline.
[34:11] Speaker 2: It's straight across the board. One is one. I don't
[34:14] Speaker 2: give a damn if it is here or in Wichita, whatever.
[34:19] Speaker 1: Everything across the board, everybody is saying the same thing from.
[34:23] Speaker 2: The top to the bottom.
[34:25] Speaker 5: Man, what I could say was different about that team too, man,
[34:27] Speaker 5: just the discipline. Like, you didn't have the distractions a little, like,
[34:34] Speaker 5: as my career went on in different places that you,
[34:36] Speaker 5: that I didn't know, like, and that if someone's not
[34:42] Speaker 5: playing much, agent call and Or I didn't see a
[34:45] Speaker 5: lot of politics around New England. So my first four years,
[34:48] Speaker 5: I was really naive to how the NFL really works
[34:51] Speaker 5: because that's how tight shift it was running.
[34:54] Speaker 2: Man, man, let me make you laugh because Deebo was there, Joe.
[34:57] Speaker 2: So I'm going to tell you. Please.
[34:59] Speaker 5: Joe, we didn't even know who was starting there. If
[35:02] Speaker 5: you messed up in the game, I swear to God, bro,
[35:04] Speaker 5: you messed up maybe once.
[35:05] Speaker 2: Or twice in the game.
[35:07] Speaker 5: And we didn't win because we didn't lose a lot.
[35:10] Speaker 5: So you didn't win. You sitting on the plane quiet.
[35:13] Speaker 5: People like, man, you good? Boy, like, man, these two
[35:16] Speaker 5: players right here, man, I might not even be starting
[35:17] Speaker 5: next week. Like, that was just, like, the mindset.
[35:21] Speaker 2: So.
[35:22] Speaker 5: man, like, it was competition every week.
[35:26] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
[35:26] Speaker 5: And you couldn't really have a bad game. Like, if
[35:29] Speaker 5: you had a bad game, you really had to be
[35:31] Speaker 5: a paid player. And I'm talking about paid, paid. But
[35:34] Speaker 5: the paid ones were still, like, out there going, doing
[35:39] Speaker 5: whatever it took.
[35:40] Speaker 2: Going crazy. Going crazy.
[35:42] Speaker 5: Man, I didn't see the top of the top, like,
[35:47] Speaker 5: build just go off on them in a meeting. Like,
[35:48] Speaker 5: I didn't see Grump and Tom get demolished in a
[35:52] Speaker 5: team meeting together.
[35:55] Speaker 2: That's the way that your coach got to do it, though,
[35:57] Speaker 2: if you want to be able to keep the accountability
[35:58] Speaker 2: of young dudes.
[36:00] Speaker 5: I was a young buck, so I ain't going to
[36:02] Speaker 5: lie to you. I'm in there like, man, he just
[36:04] Speaker 5: went off on Grump, Tom, Devin McCarty. Man, I ain't shit. Like,
[36:11] Speaker 5: I better not do nothing.
[36:12] Speaker 2: I'm done. I might not have a seat. I mean, look,
[36:18] Speaker 2: I know the coach is wrong. I'd be like, yes, sir.
[36:20] Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Hey, bro, I ain't going to lie
[36:24] Speaker 2: to you.
[36:25] Speaker 1: That's the only place where I heard yes, sirs from
[36:28] Speaker 1: a whole bunch of people.
[36:29] Speaker 2: Yeah, facts. Like, yes, sir. I'm like, yeah, coach. Okay. Like, Like,
[36:37] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[36:38] Speaker 1: I ain't tripping, but I'm tripping. Like, I can't call you, sir.
[36:42] Speaker 1: I'm damn near old as you.
[36:43] Speaker 5: When Deebo walked in, I ain't going to lie.
[36:46] Speaker 2: I was that young.
[36:47] Speaker 5: That's what I'm about to ask you. What was your
[36:49] Speaker 5: first memory of Deebo? I bet they ain't about to
[36:51] Speaker 5: be on there today. That's James Harrison about to walk in.
[36:54] Speaker 5: I know they ain't going to be on there today.
[36:59] Speaker 2: You know, I'll wait. What was your first memories of
[37:03] Speaker 2: him like? What was your first memories of Deebo?
[37:06] Speaker 5: First, let me make you laugh. My first memory. So
[37:10] Speaker 5: I followed Deebo on Instagram. He didn't follow me back
[37:12] Speaker 5: at the time, but I followed him. You know what
[37:14] Speaker 5: I'm saying? Yeah, for sure. So I walk in early
[37:18] Speaker 5: in the morning. I'm like, I'm looking at my Instagram.
[37:21] Speaker 2: I'm like, dang it. Motherfucker already worked out? Like, what's
[37:25] Speaker 2: going on?
[37:27] Speaker 5: Then I'm like, nah, we ain't got no yellow gems
[37:29] Speaker 5: out here. We ain't got no yellow gems. But I'm
[37:31] Speaker 5: so young, I don't even want to ask him. Because
[37:34] Speaker 5: maybe he found one. I don't want to ask him.
[37:36] Speaker 2: You feel what I'm saying? So I'm really tiptoeing around everything.
[37:41] Speaker 2: And check this out, Joe.
[37:42] Speaker 5: I didn't have a choice but to talk to him
[37:43] Speaker 5: because I was a starting linebacker.
[37:45] Speaker 2: I had to talk to him.
[37:46] Speaker 5: Because I had to know where you want to be,
[37:48] Speaker 5: where you don't want to be.
[37:49] Speaker 2: You tell me.
[37:50] Speaker 5: I just want you playing fast like that.
[37:53] Speaker 2: For sure.
[37:54] Speaker 5: So I go up to him. Your locker was right
[37:56] Speaker 5: next to mine, right, Deebo? They put you right next
[37:57] Speaker 5: to me, right? And I say, I say, hey, uh, Deebo, James,
[38:03] Speaker 5: whatever you want to be called. My name.
[38:05] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
[38:06] Speaker 5: I was quite like, my name is Landon Robbins. They
[38:08] Speaker 5: call me E-Rock. Look, Mike Linebacker, whatever you need, let
[38:13] Speaker 5: me know.
[38:13] Speaker 2: Gotcha.
[38:14] Speaker 5: That boy, Deebo looked dead in my face and was like,
[38:18] Speaker 5: I'm rushing to pass him.
[38:21] Speaker 2: I say, say less. Say, don't worry about it. I
[38:24] Speaker 2: got you. I got you. Hey, we seeing eye to eye.
[38:26] Speaker 5: Look, I.
[38:28] Speaker 2: Now I know you rushing. We good. You rushing. So
[38:32] Speaker 2: we get in practice. No lie.
[38:33] Speaker 5: Actually, bro, we in practice cold too. He out there
[38:36] Speaker 5: with a weight vest on, big old sweats, everything. He said,
[38:42] Speaker 5: I'm going to be moving fast Sunday.
[38:45] Speaker 2: Do your thing.
[38:46] Speaker 5: In my eyes, you Hall of Famer, do your thing.
[38:49] Speaker 5: I might need to go put me on a weight vest.
[38:50] Speaker 5: I might not be moving fast enough. So look, we
[38:53] Speaker 5: get in practice. That boy say....
[38:56] Speaker 2: I called a call.
[38:57] Speaker 5: I'm like, hey, Deebo, you to the boundary right here.
[39:02] Speaker 5: The boundary fit the drop. He said, I'm not dropping.
[39:04] Speaker 5: They told me I ain't going to have to drop
[39:05] Speaker 5: the whole time. I said, but in this call, you
[39:08] Speaker 5: got to drop.
[39:09] Speaker 2: But in this call, he said, I told you I
[39:13] Speaker 2: was rushing, though. So that means you want somebody going
[39:16] Speaker 2: to have to go there. The ball snapped. He rushed.
[39:19] Speaker 2: I didn't say nothing. I didn't say nothing. I looked
[39:21] Speaker 2: at Bill. They looked at me. I didn't say nothing.
[39:24] Speaker 5: They called that play again. I said, Trey Flowers, go
[39:26] Speaker 5: to the boundary. Hey, Deebo, go to the field. He said,
[39:30] Speaker 5: they told me to line up in the boundary. I said,
[39:31] Speaker 5: you want to rush or drop? Because the boundary got
[39:33] Speaker 5: to drop. The boundary got to drop.
[39:36] Speaker 2: He said, say less, little nigga, and went to the field.
[39:41] Speaker 5: Hey, look, he went.
[39:44] Speaker 2: To the field, right? Hey, Bill was like, hey, you rushing.
[39:48] Speaker 2: So I said, hey, I'm rushing. Bill already told me
[39:50] Speaker 2: I'm rushing. I'm rushing.
[39:51] Speaker 5: Hey, look, after that play, he came back up to me.
[39:54] Speaker 5: He said, I'm going wherever you tell me to go
[39:57] Speaker 5: as long as I'm rushing. We played the, hey, was
[40:01] Speaker 5: it the Jets, Debo? Debo came in the game. I said, Debo,
[40:04] Speaker 5: go to the left, go to the left.
[40:05] Speaker 2: He sat down. He didn't give me no credit, but
[40:09] Speaker 2: he dapped me up. He didn't give me no credit,
[40:11] Speaker 2: but he dapped me up. It was to the right.
[40:13] Speaker 2: It was to the right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He didn't
[40:14] Speaker 2: give me no credit, but he so dapped me up.
[40:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, because what Bill started doing is he started changing
[40:19] Speaker 1: it up to where I would, because I was better
[40:22] Speaker 1: rushing off the right side, so he started changing it
[40:24] Speaker 1: up to where I would be on the right.
[40:25] Speaker 2: Most of the time. Hey, them boys told me.
[40:28] Speaker 1: I had to drop a couple times, though, because I
[40:31] Speaker 1: got a couple tackles on that one tackle, like right there.
[40:35] Speaker 2: It was on there, right? A dude came across the middle.
[40:38] Speaker 2: I think it was.
[40:41] Speaker 1: Either the Jets or Jacksonville. And I hit him and
[40:44] Speaker 1: flipped him. And that boy, he went crazy.
[40:47] Speaker 2: Look, I'm a second-year player.
[40:50] Speaker 5: And they telling me, it's your responsibility to make sure
[40:53] Speaker 5: Deebo know everything.
[40:54] Speaker 2: If Deebo mess up, it's your fault. Because that's how
[40:57] Speaker 2: I just think. It's your fault. It's your fault if
[40:59] Speaker 2: Deebo mess up. So I'm just like, my God. Goodness.
[41:04] Speaker 2: I know he was right now. He was because I
[41:08] Speaker 2: told him I was learning. I'm like, I'm learning.
[41:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, he was learning.
[41:11] Speaker 2: And, you know, I'm like.
[41:13] Speaker 1: All right.
[41:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, it had to be Jacksonville was the second.
[41:16] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[41:17] Speaker 2: Because Bill was like, the more, you know, the more. Yeah. Yeah.
[41:22] Speaker 1: So I was on every package except for one by
[41:25] Speaker 1: the time we got to the Super Bowl.
[41:26] Speaker 2: So I dropped off.
[41:28] Speaker 1: And I don't even think he was expecting me to
[41:29] Speaker 1: be there because he is dogging ass trying to get there.
[41:32] Speaker 1: And as dude is coming, I'm just waiting to pop his, boom.
[41:36] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[41:37] Speaker 5: And one thing about the defense when I was at
[41:39] Speaker 5: New England is we were so, the defense was very smart.
[41:44] Speaker 2: So, man, they used to just tell.
[41:45] Speaker 5: Us like, look, man, four people need to be rushing
[41:48] Speaker 5: and the rest need to be dropping.
[41:51] Speaker 2: Yes. And that's all they cared. They didn't care who
[41:52] Speaker 2: was curled flat. You got spots. They didn't care who
[41:54] Speaker 2: was the hook.
[41:55] Speaker 5: They didn't care who was the four dropping.
[41:56] Speaker 2: I mean, rushing.
[41:57] Speaker 5: Just as long as every zone is full. So like, bro,
[42:01] Speaker 5: we used to show, we had one thing, we used
[42:03] Speaker 5: to just walk around, walk around. That's what Brian Flores
[42:05] Speaker 5: do right now at the Vikings when they be like, man,
[42:07] Speaker 5: who coming? And they know who coming, but they know, okay,
[42:10] Speaker 5: if you in the middle, then you know, okay, say
[42:13] Speaker 5: Francis Tampa. All right, if I'm in the middle as
[42:15] Speaker 5: we walk around, I got to go middle read. if
[42:18] Speaker 5: I'm on the sides, I'm the girl. The rushers already know.
[42:20] Speaker 5: They just know it don't matter what spot I end
[42:22] Speaker 5: up in.
[42:22] Speaker 2: I just got to be, you know what I'm saying,
[42:24] Speaker 2: in the middle of these guys. So, like... Yeah, you
[42:26] Speaker 2: got to even it up. You got to even it up.
[42:28] Speaker 5: So, that's why, like, when I'm watching the Vikings, I
[42:30] Speaker 5: just be laughing, bro. Bro, that shit be comical.
[42:34] Speaker 2: To me, bro. Because they... After all them years, people
[42:36] Speaker 2: still can't get it.
[42:37] Speaker 5: And it's just like, And what they don't even understand, man,
[42:40] Speaker 5: one thing about Brian Flores, he switch up his tendencies
[42:43] Speaker 5: every four weeks.
[42:44] Speaker 2: I know that for a fact. He switch every quarter.
[42:46] Speaker 5: People think like, oh, he going to look at his
[42:49] Speaker 5: tendencies the bye week, but Brian Flores don't do that.
[42:52] Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to tell you. The thought processing
[42:54] Speaker 1: over there, bro, is so much higher than what you're
[42:59] Speaker 1: used to seeing as a standard. It is crazy, dude.
[43:04] Speaker 2: Like you said, yo.
[43:06] Speaker 1: Walk around, do whatever, duh, duh, duh. Maybe I'm supposed
[43:09] Speaker 1: to rush, but hey, let's trick them out. I'm going
[43:12] Speaker 1: to go ahead and walk around and all they've been
[43:15] Speaker 1: doing is seeing me rush. All right, you go drop,
[43:16] Speaker 1: I'm going to drop.
[43:18] Speaker 2: Catch an O.P. And get hit in the face.
[43:20] Speaker 1: O.P.
[43:21] Speaker 2: It'd be crazy, man. It'd be crazy.
[43:23] Speaker 5: That team, man, them four years, man, and we just
[43:27] Speaker 5: added pieces. Like, bro, we added Debo and still had,
[43:31] Speaker 5: we had Dante Hattal, we had, Kyle Van Nooy, you know,
[43:37] Speaker 5: Jamie Collins, Rob Nikovich. Like, we had so many, yeah,
[43:42] Speaker 5: we had so many pieces. It's just like, you just go,
[43:45] Speaker 5: it's just like, hey, go out there and pick a
[43:46] Speaker 5: spot you want to play.
[43:48] Speaker 2: All of them was big.
[43:48] Speaker 5: Like, bro, I ain't going to lie to you, I
[43:51] Speaker 5: was the only one that never went on the ball.
[43:54] Speaker 5: But I was the only one that was just six
[43:55] Speaker 5: foot eight. All them jokers were 6'4, 6'5.
[43:58] Speaker 2: Time out. I'm going to tell you, all right, let's
[44:03] Speaker 2: figure this out. 6'1. Deebo taller than you? I don't know. Deebo,
[44:08] Speaker 2: we eye to eye. Okay. He's 6'0. Deebo's 6'0? I
[44:11] Speaker 2: think he's 6'0. Yeah, for sure.
[44:13] Speaker 3: Okay.
[44:15] Speaker 2: Okay, okay. Yeah, stop trying, stop trying with that. I
[44:19] Speaker 2: keep telling Deebo he 5'11 and 7'9. And then he
[44:21] Speaker 2: not going, he not letting it stop. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nah,
[44:25] Speaker 2: I think Deebo 6'4. Okay, okay.
[44:30] Speaker 5: Deebo was the only 6'4 that we had rushing a passer.
[44:34] Speaker 2: Because everybody else was talking about him. Oh, that's a fact, though.
[44:36] Speaker 2: That's a fact. That's a fact. That's a fact. That's
[44:38] Speaker 2: a fact. He going to rush the passer. There ain't
[44:40] Speaker 2: many of those. Not at 6'0 that can do what
[44:42] Speaker 2: he did. That's a fact.
[44:43] Speaker 3: No.
[44:44] Speaker 2: No. Appreciate it, man. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. Hey, chat,
[44:47] Speaker 2: stop talking behind six foot, man. Like, y'all better stop.
[44:49] Speaker 2: Because they know exactly what it is, man.
[44:52] Speaker 1: Like, y'all better stop what y'all doing right there. That
[44:56] Speaker 1: ain't what we go get into right now.
[44:58] Speaker 2: Go ahead, Joe. Hey, how was that? You played in
[45:00] Speaker 2: the NFL collegiate bowl, right? And the coach was my GM,
[45:05] Speaker 2: Mike Holmworth. How was that experience in that game? Man,
[45:09] Speaker 2: he was cool. He was cool, man. And not even
[45:12] Speaker 2: just with him, just your experience in the bowl. The
[45:14] Speaker 2: game itself was cool.
[45:16] Speaker 5: You know, at that time, man, you kind of, it
[45:18] Speaker 5: was so many meetings and stuff that week with a
[45:20] Speaker 5: lot of GMs and whatnot.
