[0:00] Speaker 1: He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death
[0:04] Speaker 1: will be no more. Neither will there be mourning, nor crying,
[0:08] Speaker 1: nor pain anymore. The first things have passed away. Revelation
[0:14] Speaker 1: 21.4 Dear God, you are taking it all away. The pain,
[0:21] Speaker 1: the sadness, the sickness, and the death. And we can't
[0:24] Speaker 1: wait to be with you forever in such a wonderful place.
[0:29] Speaker 1: Help us to remember when we feel sad or tired
[0:33] Speaker 1: that this world is not our home. We are citizens
[0:36] Speaker 1: of heaven. You are our home and you've promised to
[0:40] Speaker 1: return to us soon. So today we say, come Lord Jesus.

[1:27] Speaker 2: saw the first part of John's vision in Revelation as
[1:31] Speaker 2: he saw the events leading up to the new creation.
[1:35] Speaker 2: This story is the conclusion of John's vision and an
[1:39] Speaker 2: encouragement to all believers, as inspired by Revelation.
[1:47] Speaker 1: Hi everyone, it's Joya Sadler with our last episode, I
[1:51] Speaker 1: can't believe it, of Kids Bible in a Year podcast. Well,
[1:55] Speaker 1: this is it, but it's only the beginning. We are
[1:58] Speaker 1: going to discuss Revelation, how the world ends, Jesus wins,
[2:05] Speaker 1: and eternity begins. So do you know what? It's the
[2:09] Speaker 1: happiest ending ever, and I can't wait to tell you
[2:12] Speaker 1: all about it. Thanks so much for sticking with me
[2:15] Speaker 1: through this journey. I hope that you have had A
[2:17] Speaker 1: great time. I know I have. And I hope that
[2:21] Speaker 1: you will be lifelong students, readers, lovers, and sharers of
[2:27] Speaker 1: the Word of God. This is the last story. And
[2:30] Speaker 1: it's a special one. So listen in.
[2:35] Speaker 2: I stood inside the city with one of God's angels
[2:38] Speaker 2: who continued to guide me. I was led to a
[2:41] Speaker 2: river that flowed through the city. The water was so
[2:45] Speaker 2: clean and clear, it flowed so calmly. I stood at
[2:49] Speaker 2: the edge and looked into it and saw my reflection
[2:52] Speaker 2: almost like a mirror. When I looked back up, the
[2:55] Speaker 2: angel told me, This is the river of living water.
[3:00] Speaker 2: I looked to see where the river flowed from and
[3:03] Speaker 2: saw that it came from the throne of God, with
[3:06] Speaker 2: Jesus sitting there. As I traced the river, I found
[3:10] Speaker 2: that it flowed down the middle of the street, On
[3:12] Speaker 2: either side of the street, I saw trees. I went
[3:15] Speaker 2: to inspect them and saw that they had twelve types
[3:18] Speaker 2: of fruit hanging from them. I was noticeably in shock
[3:22] Speaker 2: as the angel told me, This is the tree of life.
[3:26] Speaker 2: It bears fruit every month. As we stood there, people
[3:31] Speaker 2: of all kinds came to the tree and would pull
[3:33] Speaker 2: a leaf off, crumple it up, and rub it on them.
[3:36] Speaker 2: Through this, they were healed of whatever things ailed them.
[3:40] Speaker 2: There was great healing in the leaves of the tree
[3:43] Speaker 2: of life. It struck me, as I saw this, that
[3:46] Speaker 2: nothing will ever be cursed again. Pain and suffering was gone.
[3:51] Speaker 2: I heard music and chanting coming from up the river.
[3:55] Speaker 2: As I looked up, I saw servants of God at
[3:57] Speaker 2: his throne. I walked up to join them in worship.
[4:01] Speaker 2: I noticed that all his servants were able to look
[4:03] Speaker 2: up at God and peer upon his face. As I
[4:06] Speaker 2: walked through the crowd, I looked at each of the
[4:08] Speaker 2: servants and saw God's name upon their foreheads. I worshipped
[4:13] Speaker 2: with them for a great deal of time. I noticed
[4:15] Speaker 2: that time went on and thought that it should be
[4:18] Speaker 2: getting dark out. I returned to the angel who was
[4:21] Speaker 2: my guide, and he simply pointed to God. God was
[4:25] Speaker 2: the one providing light. He always is, and because He is,
[4:29] Speaker 2: there was no night. People also had no need for
[4:33] Speaker 2: a sun in the sky or a lamp to light
[4:35] Speaker 2: the darkness. This city was truly immersed in the presence
[4:39] Speaker 2: of God. This was the manifestation of God with us.
[4:43] Speaker 2: What you are seeing will happen. God gave me a
[4:47] Speaker 2: specific message for you. Tell the people to prepare. This
[4:51] Speaker 2: will happen fast when it happens. The people will be
[4:55] Speaker 2: blessed if they focus on what you are to write.
[4:58] Speaker 2: The angel said to me, When these words processed in
[5:01] Speaker 2: my mind and I realized just how serious this all was,
[5:05] Speaker 2: I fell to my knees and worshipped the angel.
[5:07] Speaker 1: He scolded me.
[5:09] Speaker 2: I am a servant of God, just like you. Do
[5:11] Speaker 2: not worship me. He continued to say, What you wrote
[5:15] Speaker 2: is going to change the world. It is extremely important.
[5:19] Speaker 2: Bring this to all people so that they may read it.
[5:21] Speaker 2: That is your job. Do not concern yourself with the
[5:24] Speaker 2: responses of people. God will take care of that through
[5:27] Speaker 2: the work of the Holy Spirit. Then Jesus came to
[5:31] Speaker 2: me from the throne and spoke to me.
[5:33] Speaker 1: I am coming soon.
[5:35] Speaker 2: When I return, it will be quick. Everyone that has
[5:38] Speaker 2: done something for me will get what they deserve.
[5:40] Speaker 3: In their rewards.
[5:42] Speaker 2: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and
[5:45] Speaker 2: last letter of the Greek alphabet, the beginning and the end.
[5:50] Speaker 2: All things happen through me. Those that prepare for my
[5:53] Speaker 2: coming will be blessed, and they will partake of the
[5:56] Speaker 2: Tree of Life. They will enter this city and come
[5:59] Speaker 2: and go freely. Those that are wicked will not have
[6:02] Speaker 2: these privileges, and they will stay outside of the gates.
[6:06] Speaker 1: Remember who I am.
[6:07] Speaker 2: I am the root, the branch of David, and the
[6:10] Speaker 2: bright and morning star. It warmed my heart to be
[6:14] Speaker 2: hearing Jesus again face to face. I noted his words
[6:17] Speaker 2: on paper and etched them onto my heart so I
[6:20] Speaker 2: would never forget them. Suddenly I heard in the distance
[6:24] Speaker 2: from a group of worshipers, The Spirit and the Bride say, Come!
[6:29] Speaker 2: Then another group responded from across the city, Come! And
[6:33] Speaker 2: again the first group shouted, If you are thirsty, come!
[6:36] Speaker 2: Come and drink living water! My dear friends that are
[6:40] Speaker 2: reading this, be careful what you do with what you
[6:43] Speaker 2: have read. God is a just judge and will judge
[6:46] Speaker 2: you accordingly. Do not make up what you have read here.
[6:50] Speaker 2: Give an accurate account of what it is you have read.
[6:53] Speaker 2: Do not pick and choose to believe.
[6:56] Speaker 1: What you want.
[6:57] Speaker 2: All that is written Amen and amen. What a story,
[7:01] Speaker 2: what a plan, what a God.
[7:23] Speaker 1: As we open today, John is standing inside of this
[7:26] Speaker 1: great city with his personal tour guide, who just happens
[7:30] Speaker 1: to be an angel. They walked over to a beautiful
[7:34] Speaker 1: river that was clean, clear, and calm. In fact, it
[7:39] Speaker 1: was so clear that John could see his face in it,
[7:43] Speaker 1: just like a mirror. In the water, the angel said
[7:47] Speaker 1: it was living, and the water came straight from the
[7:51] Speaker 1: throne of God. We see the picture of a river
[7:54] Speaker 1: all throughout scripture as a sign of how God provides
[7:58] Speaker 1: for his children and the peace that only comes from him. Next,
[8:04] Speaker 1: John describes some trees on either side of the street
[8:08] Speaker 1: with 12 types of fruit for each month of the year.
[8:12] Speaker 1: This is so important. Think about it. How did this
[8:17] Speaker 1: whole great storybook begin? In a garden. With the tree
[8:22] Speaker 1: of life. If you remember, man was sent away from
[8:26] Speaker 1: the garden because of sin. But because of Jesus, everything
[8:31] Speaker 1: was made right again. And one day we will get
[8:35] Speaker 1: to enjoy the tree of life just as God wanted
[8:39] Speaker 1: it to be. John begins to realize nothing will ever
[8:43] Speaker 1: be cursed again. Pain and suffering will be gone forever.
[8:48] Speaker 1: And I really love this part. John hears music and chanting.
[8:53] Speaker 1: It's the servants of God. You see, in heaven, we
[8:57] Speaker 1: will love serving and worshiping God. It will make us
[9:01] Speaker 1: so happy. But listen to this. John says that all
[9:06] Speaker 1: of the God's servants are able to look at his face.
[9:10] Speaker 1: Do you remember reading about Moses in the Old Testament?
[9:14] Speaker 1: How he was not allowed to see the face of God? Next,
[9:18] Speaker 1: John notices something. He had been walking around, checking things out,
[9:45] Speaker 1: standing with all the saints, and worshiping for a very
[9:48] Speaker 1: long time. But it wasn't getting dark.
[9:51] Speaker 2: Nope.
[9:52] Speaker 1: One of my favorite hymns talks about this. It says,
[9:55] Speaker 1: no more night no more pain no more crying again
[10:01] Speaker 1: why because there's no need for the sun the moon
[10:05] Speaker 1: or the stars god is the light and his light
[10:08] Speaker 1: is always shining bright his presence will always be with
[10:12] Speaker 1: us and around us how great is that John is
[10:16] Speaker 1: so amazed he can hardly believe his eyes. It's then
[10:19] Speaker 1: that the angel gives him a little warning and says, John, listen,
[10:25] Speaker 1: what you are seeing is real and it is going
[10:28] Speaker 1: to happen. And when it happens, it's going to happen fast.
[10:32] Speaker 1: So tell everyone, that's us, and make sure they are ready.
[10:38] Speaker 1: It's then that Jesus comes to John, the same Jesus
[10:42] Speaker 1: he spent three years with. walking around Galilee, laughing, crying, healing,
[10:47] Speaker 1: and preaching together. His very best friend. Jesus looks into
[10:52] Speaker 1: the eyes of John and makes a promise. I am
[10:56] Speaker 1: coming soon. And when I come to get my children,
[11:00] Speaker 1: it will happen quickly. I will reward those who have
[11:04] Speaker 1: served me. I am the beginning and the end, the
[11:08] Speaker 1: root of the branch of David, and the bright and
[11:11] Speaker 1: morning star. John says his heart felt warm. He was
[11:15] Speaker 1: face to face with Jesus. He wrote these words on paper,
[11:19] Speaker 1: which have stood the test of time. And we hold
[11:23] Speaker 1: in our hands today. And he wrote them on his heart.
[11:27] Speaker 1: And then Jesus said one last thing. Behold, I am
[11:32] Speaker 1: coming soon. Yes, Lord Jesus, come. And those are the
[11:37] Speaker 1: last words we read in our Bibles. It's as if
[11:40] Speaker 1: John's saying to us, it's time to get ready now.
[11:44] Speaker 1: But how do we get ready? We make sure our
[11:47] Speaker 1: minds and hearts stay set on Jesus. We think about him.
[11:51] Speaker 1: We talk about him. We love and forgive each other.
[11:55] Speaker 1: We do everything he has told us to do. And
[11:58] Speaker 1: we watch and wait. The number one thing that you
[12:02] Speaker 1: are supposed to do, the only thing, that really matters
[12:07] Speaker 1: is that you accept Jesus as your Savior, that you
[12:12] Speaker 1: ask Him to come into your life and to save you.
[12:17] Speaker 1: And it goes something like this. If you want to
[12:21] Speaker 1: know for sure that you are going to heaven when
[12:23] Speaker 1: you die, without a doubt that you will see Jesus,
[12:28] Speaker 1: I want you to pray something similar in your heart
[12:31] Speaker 1: or out loud with me. Dear God, I know that
[12:36] Speaker 1: I am a sinner. I know that I have made mistakes.
[12:42] Speaker 1: But I believe what I have heard today, that Jesus
[12:47] Speaker 1: is the Son of God, that He died on the
[12:50] Speaker 1: cross for my sins, and that He is able to
[12:55] Speaker 1: forgive and save me. Please forgive me for my sins.
[13:00] Speaker 1: Come into my life and be my Savior. Save my heart,
[13:05] Speaker 1: save my soul, and help me to spend the rest
[13:10] Speaker 1: of my life serving you. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
[13:17] Speaker 1: I want you to remember that all these words, all
[13:20] Speaker 1: these verses about heaven and seeing Jesus face to face
[13:24] Speaker 1: is not just a cool book. It is the best book.
[13:28] Speaker 1: It's the only book that really matters. It's not just
[13:32] Speaker 1: for other people. It is God's story for you, always
[13:36] Speaker 1: and forever. Not a fairy tale, not too good to
[13:40] Speaker 1: be true, not an opinion, not a suggestion. It is
[13:45] Speaker 1: the only way life works. And it is the truth
[13:49] Speaker 1: that will set you free. I hope you never forget
[13:52] Speaker 1: the special time that we have spent together. The rest
[13:55] Speaker 1: of your days reading the pages of the Bible. Thank you, officially,
