"Vanished: The Philip Cairns Story" is a meticulously crafted podcast dissecting the mysterious events of a single day in October 1986, when 13-year-old Philip Cairns of Rathfarnham, Dublin stepped out the door, intending to return to school after lunch and simply disappeared. This podcast offers a breakdown of that fateful day. Drawing on extensive research conducted into the case, it paints a vivid picture of Philip's usual routine, his route to school, the weather conditions, and all other seemingly mundane details that became vitally important in the wake of his disappearance. From the moment he left his home, to the eerie quiet that fell when he failed to return, "Vanished: The Philip Cairns Story" immerses listeners into a real-time recounting of Philip's story. Despite the myriad of search efforts that held the country in its grip, Philip was nowhere to be found, leaving a community grappling with a mystery that has remained unsolved to this day making it one of Irelands most high profile missing persons cases in the country’s history.
