Giannis Antetokounmpo Going Down With Injury CHANGES Everything according to Gilbert Arenas as Gil & The Gil's Arena Crew react to Giannis going down with a calf strain in the midst of trade rumours with the Milwaukee Bucks and debate how this new injury changes the future for the Greek Freak. They debate what's more important to Giannis between loyalty and legacy as he mulls his next move before revisiting the drama between Chris Paul & The Los Angeles Clippers as new information has come out surrounding the messy divorce and debate if cutting CP3 says more about the Clippers organization than the legendary point guard. They then react to Dwyane Wade's take on the NBA Goat debate, telling fans that LeBron James was the best player he ever saw play while Michael Jordan was the greatest player he watched and react to LeBron James playing extra minutes to continue his double points streak. Finally they react to Zion Williamson going down with another injury and debate if it's time for the New Orleans Pelicans to break things off with their often injured Superstar before breaking down the Boston Celtics big win over the New York Knicks and discuss how Jaylen Brown is performing like a true #1 option in the absence of Jayson Tatum. [0:15] Speaker 1: feeling today? Good. Good. Good. One more day to Friday. Yeah, hey.
[0:20] Speaker 1: Every day is Friday with the right mindset. Thanks. But
[0:25] Speaker 1: this is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. I'm your host,
[0:28] Speaker 1: Josiah Johnson. As always, we've got the NBA and NBA
[0:31] Speaker 1: 2K content creator, Gilbert Arenas. A content creator for NBA 2K.
[0:43] Speaker 1: Thanks to Gil, we've got NBA champion of the World
[0:45] Speaker 1: Swag EP, Nick Young, back with us. Yeah, bring it back.
[0:53] Speaker 1: They added a little bit more to it before it
[0:55] Speaker 1: was just the grunt. I need that type of energy again.
[1:01] Speaker 1: On this side on the couch, the man they call
[1:02] Speaker 1: Cemetery Larry, NCAA Champion of the World, Rashawn McCants. Back
[1:06] Speaker 1: here with us. Rocking the vintage MJ throwback. I like it.
[1:13] Speaker 1: We may talk a little MJ today. Time permitted. And
[1:17] Speaker 1: representing tough crowds A card-carrying country club member, we got Mr. B,
[1:21] Speaker 1: Brandon Jennings. Tiger Wu. Hey, that was y'all? Huh? That's
[1:30] Speaker 1: what y'all practice in? Nah, this was a Bucs. No, no,
[1:33] Speaker 1: this was a Bucs vintage. Oh, I was going to say. No,
[1:35] Speaker 1: this was Ray Allen in a minute. Oh, you know,
[1:37] Speaker 1: I mean, that makes sense because it was champion back then. But, like,
[1:39] Speaker 1: you have it on. That's crazy. That's hard. I mean,
[1:42] Speaker 1: y'all were that far behind when you got in the league. Man, stop. Right,
[1:46] Speaker 1: because this is a champion suit, you see? You know
[1:48] Speaker 1: what I mean? You know, the city just hooked me up.
[1:50] Speaker 1: I'm Milwaukee. Mr. 4-1-4. Represent. Even when Giannis leaves, I'm
[1:55] Speaker 1: still there. Well, we got a lot of things to discuss.
[1:59] Speaker 1: Here's what's cracking at Gil's Arena today. So, amidst the
[2:03] Speaker 1: trade rumors, the Greek freak suffered another injury that will
[2:06] Speaker 1: keep him sidelined for extended time. What does this mean
[2:09] Speaker 1: for the Bucks and Giannis? Not looking good. He's going
[2:12] Speaker 1: to be out at least two to four weeks, maybe
[2:13] Speaker 1: a little bit more. For more info about the Clippers
[2:16] Speaker 1: cutting ties with CP3 is coming out from both sides.
[2:18] Speaker 1: Does the move say more about the franchise or the
[2:21] Speaker 1: all-time franchise great? And Zion Williamson's injury issue just won't
[2:26] Speaker 1: go away. It's a time for the Pelicans to move
[2:28] Speaker 1: on from the former number one pick. Before we get
[2:31] Speaker 1: into all that, as always, this show is brought to
[2:33] Speaker 1: you by Underdog. So go ahead and download that app.

[3:00] Speaker 1: on YouTube, we have audio versions available on Apple, Spotify,
[3:03] Speaker 1: or wherever you get your podcasts from. So Bucks were
[3:07] Speaker 1: back in action Wednesday night for the first time since
[3:09] Speaker 1: the Giannis social media scrubbing and trade rumor news as
[3:14] Speaker 1: they look to get back on the right track at
[3:15] Speaker 1: home against the East's top-seeded Pistons. So before the game,
[3:19] Speaker 1: Doc Rivers addressed a report from Shams that Giannis and
[3:21] Speaker 1: his agent have started conversations with the team about the
[3:24] Speaker 1: two-time MVP's future. In addition to a report that Giannis
[3:29] Speaker 1: previously requested a trade from the team. So here we
[3:32] Speaker 1: go again. There's been no conversations.
[3:37] Speaker 2: I want to make it clear just for the, I
[3:40] Speaker 2: would say one more time, but for the 50th time,
[3:43] Speaker 2: it clearly is not getting the one network for sure.
[3:45] Speaker 2: Giannis has never asked to be traded.
[3:51] Speaker 1: Ever. I can't make that more clear. Can't make it
[3:57] Speaker 1: more clear. That's not what the streets are saying, but
[4:00] Speaker 1: things took a turn for the worse for both Giannis
[4:02] Speaker 1: and the Bucks in the game. before he could even
[4:04] Speaker 1: break a sweat. Let's take a look at the video
[4:07] Speaker 1: if we can, please. Greek Freak left the game early
[4:10] Speaker 1: in the first quarter with a non-contact injury, later diagnosed
[4:14] Speaker 1: as a right calf strain. An injury occurred as Giannis
[4:17] Speaker 1: was running back down the court after driving the basket
[4:19] Speaker 1: and diming up Dairy Bird for a bucket. He sat
[4:22] Speaker 1: on the ground for several moments in pain, cursing before
[4:26] Speaker 1: making his way to the bench, eventually heading to the
[4:28] Speaker 1: locker room. Giannis was playing in his fourth game since
[4:31] Speaker 1: suffering a left adductor strain on November 17th. But even
[4:34] Speaker 1: without their franchise superstar, the Bucs were able to overcome
[4:37] Speaker 1: a 16-point deficit to beat the Pistons for just their
[4:40] Speaker 1: second win in the past 10 games. So according to Shams,
[4:44] Speaker 1: the latest injury will sideline Giannis for the next two
[4:47] Speaker 1: to four weeks, putting his eligibility for postseason awards in
[4:50] Speaker 1: serious jeopardy. So Giannis previously said he's committed to the
[4:53] Speaker 1: Bucs at least through this season, but with these new
[4:56] Speaker 1: wave of reports, he might be looking to dip sooner
[4:59] Speaker 1: than later. I want to open up the couch. We'll
[5:00] Speaker 1: start with you, Mr. B. Does his calf strain force
[5:03] Speaker 1: a pause on any trade talk, or does it actually
[5:05] Speaker 1: make a future split more likely? I just think with
[5:10] Speaker 1: his injury, he needs to get healthy.
[5:12] Speaker 3: I think because he's been having a lot of injuries,
[5:14] Speaker 3: I think a couple injuries this season. So I think
[5:19] Speaker 3: this is the best time for him right now is
[5:21] Speaker 3: just to rest. I think the best time to make
[5:23] Speaker 3: a move is in offseason. So you have, you know,
[5:26] Speaker 3: cap space and everything like that. So right now, I
[5:29] Speaker 3: would just rest all the way to all-star weekend.
[5:32] Speaker 1: Seems very unfortunate, obviously, given the time and the nature
[5:35] Speaker 1: of the situation. He scrubbed his social media late November,
[5:38] Speaker 1: according to reports. Wasn't as recent as everybody thought. Everybody
[5:41] Speaker 1: thought after that Wizards loss. That was the impetus to
[5:44] Speaker 1: doing that. So you've done that. Obviously, all these reports
[5:46] Speaker 1: come out. Doc said, no, Giannis never has to be traded. Shams, Wendy,
[5:50] Speaker 1: other people saying otherwise. But unfortunate situation for the two-time MVP.
[5:56] Speaker 1: Best thing for him is just to get healthy right now.
[5:58] Speaker 1: Just get healthy, man.
[5:59] Speaker 3: I'll take my time. If I'm him, I'm just taking
[6:02] Speaker 3: my time at this point. 90% of the team, so.
[6:08] Speaker 1: Yeah. First, I'll move over to you, Mr. Cemetery, Larry.
[6:12] Speaker 1: In the situation last night, do you think that Giannis injury,
[6:17] Speaker 1: what impact will that have on his future with the
[6:18] Speaker 1: Bucs moving forward?
[6:23] Speaker 4: If I'm looking at everything top down from every team
[6:27] Speaker 4: and every player, it seems like the league has become
[6:30] Speaker 4: a little bit more injury prone than we expected. And
[6:33] Speaker 4: I think nobody's exempt from that. I think proof is
[6:37] Speaker 4: in the pudding that he's been more injured than he
[6:39] Speaker 4: has been available in the last few years. And if
[6:42] Speaker 4: you're a team, you're looking at that. You put that
[6:44] Speaker 4: into context. It's something you got to consider with guys
[6:50] Speaker 4: like him, Joel Embiid, Anthony Davis, three bigs that having,
[6:56] Speaker 4: you know, not all the same injuries but similar. And,
[7:00] Speaker 4: you know, it's unfortunate for them because the energy don't lie.
[7:05] Speaker 4: The type of energy you put out, the type of
[7:07] Speaker 4: energy comes back. So the uncertainty and everything lingering with
[7:10] Speaker 4: the Milwaukee Bucks with his future, you know, puts him
[7:14] Speaker 4: down for another month. He was out for, what, a
[7:17] Speaker 4: week or so? Yeah, missed several games with that adductor strain.
[7:20] Speaker 4: So that's a whole other injury. So it's unfortunate. You
[7:25] Speaker 4: got to clear that energy and bring some good energy
[7:27] Speaker 4: back so his situation clears up, my perspective.
[7:30] Speaker 1: What was the first injury? Adductor. Like the leg and hip.
[7:37] Speaker 1: So would that cause that? I don't know, but he's
[7:40] Speaker 1: dealt with these calf strains for a while now. There's
[7:43] Speaker 1: a tendency to overcompensate when you're dealing with those injuries
[7:45] Speaker 1: to impact the other leg. And obviously we've seen some
[7:47] Speaker 1: of these calf strains turn into Achilles injuries, obviously for
[7:50] Speaker 1: some premier stars around the league.
[7:51] Speaker 3: That's what you said, overcompensate. It ain't got nothing to
[7:54] Speaker 3: do with energy. I mean, he play hard every night, so.
[7:57] Speaker 3: Kobe's shot, man.
[8:00] Speaker 1: I mean. You never took the COVID shot. Don't know
[8:02] Speaker 1: if there's any correlation between that and the rash of capture.
[8:05] Speaker 1: I would say more improved, increased pace in the league.
[8:08] Speaker 1: You ain't took that COVID shot. That's why they down here.
[8:13] Speaker 1: Looks falling over. Right? Vaccinated. We have talked about the
[8:20] Speaker 1: rash of injuries, particularly leg injuries, across the league to
[8:23] Speaker 1: start this season. A lot of people are attributing that
[8:25] Speaker 1: to increased pace. movement, but Gil, when you look at
[8:30] Speaker 1: the situation going on with Giannis, obviously the trade rumors,
[8:33] Speaker 1: all that stuff, Doc Rivers attempted to shoot those down.
[8:37] Speaker 1: You got NBA Insider saying otherwise, but Giannis goes down
[8:40] Speaker 1: with his right calf strain. How do you think that
[8:41] Speaker 1: impacts his future with the Milwaukee Bucks? Impact?
[8:46] Speaker 2: I mean, the injury doesn't impact his future because.
[8:52] Speaker 1: If someone wants him, they're going to take him. It's
[8:57] Speaker 1: a calf strain, so.
[8:59] Speaker 2: If you're going to, if you're going to take a
[9:01] Speaker 2: shot at him, you're going to take a shot at him.
[9:02] Speaker 2: It's not like it's a torn ACL or anything. That's
[9:06] Speaker 2: career ending where it's going to jeopardize his actual value. So, um,
[9:11] Speaker 2: if there's going to be a trade to be made,
[9:15] Speaker 2: it's probably this month.
[9:18] Speaker 1: He's out.
[9:20] Speaker 2: If you're going to ship them, right. You're, you're, you're
[9:22] Speaker 2: going to be shipping them while he's not playing. So
[9:26] Speaker 2: he don't get injured even worse. Um, I mean, looking
[9:30] Speaker 2: at the injury, it didn't look like he really did anything,
[9:33] Speaker 2: but a lot of injuries don't look that severe.
[9:37] Speaker 1: Well, suffered a similar injury like that, I believe, in 2024,
[9:39] Speaker 1: kind of similar situation with just running back.
[9:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, so, you know, it is very unfortunate, you know,
[9:45] Speaker 2: especially with all the negativity that's going on around the team.
[9:50] Speaker 1: I mean, if Doc said that he's never asked for one,
[9:53] Speaker 1: then he's never asked for one. Right? I don't give
[9:56] Speaker 1: a fuck what the insiders say. Insider, who checks their... credibility?
[10:01] Speaker 1: No one. Maybe he's never asked Doc for one. You
[10:05] Speaker 1: know what I mean? Yeah. You know, it could be
[10:08] Speaker 1: either one.
[10:08] Speaker 2: So I can only go with the person who's there,
[10:12] Speaker 2: what that person actually says.
[10:14] Speaker 1: We can only go by his true words. But The
[10:19] Speaker 1: Bucs is.
[10:20] Speaker 2: I mean, you know, obviously they won that game, but,
[10:22] Speaker 2: you know, they started off bad with readily a healthy team. So,
[10:29] Speaker 2: you know, if they can make it to the playoffs,
[10:30] Speaker 2: then it's a revived.
[10:36] Speaker 1: I mean, getting that win last night. I mean, you know,
[10:38] Speaker 1: I mean, this.
[10:39] Speaker 2: Is not what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to
[10:41] Speaker 2: be like third, second, first, you know, so the fact
[10:44] Speaker 2: that they're tenth. You know, that's inner proudness right there.
[10:48] Speaker 1: They got to fix.
[10:48] Speaker 2: So, you know, Giannis being there and not being there
[10:50] Speaker 2: didn't got shit to do with, you know, what's going
[10:53] Speaker 2: on in that locker room.
[10:54] Speaker 1: Well, Kevin Porter Jr. was down, too. We don't. We've
[10:57] Speaker 1: been dealing with some injuries. We had a great game
[11:02] Speaker 1: last night. Helped a million teams with a win over
[11:04] Speaker 1: Top City team in the East and the Detroit Pistons. But, yeah,
[11:10] Speaker 1: I'll just say this. Giannis has never played less than
[11:12] Speaker 1: 61 games in a season. In the last four seasons,
[11:16] Speaker 1: he's played 67, 63, 73, and 67 games. So, relatively
[11:21] Speaker 1: healthy by and large for the most part. Going to
[11:23] Speaker 1: miss an extended stretch, obviously, with these two to four weeks. But, Gil,
[11:27] Speaker 1: you're saying, what I think you're saying is true, was
[11:30] Speaker 1: that the last time that we're going to see Giannis
[11:32] Speaker 1: playing in a Bucs uniform? It could be.
[11:35] Speaker 2: Like, I mean, you know, when you think about some
[11:38] Speaker 2: of the trades that's happened, usually that player's not playing.
[11:43] Speaker 1: Luka got traded last year. He wasn't playing. He's working out.
[11:46] Speaker 1: He's showing that he's healthy. Trade.
[11:49] Speaker 2: It's usually the best time because he's not out there playing.
[11:53] Speaker 2: He's not out there affecting change, and he's not out
[11:56] Speaker 2: there really getting in trouble. Usually, if you're on the
[11:59] Speaker 2: team and you know a player's about to get traded,
[12:02] Speaker 2: there's always indicators.
[12:04] Speaker 1: He didn't get suited up. Yeah, for sure. Or if
[12:07] Speaker 1: he did play and a trade went through, you don't
[12:10] Speaker 1: see him after halftime. They'll pull his ass off the court.
[12:13] Speaker 2: So there's things that happen where people are like, oh,
[12:16] Speaker 2: I think he's about to get traded because he plays
[12:18] Speaker 2: 38 minutes and he just got pulled out and he
[12:20] Speaker 2: ain't playing no more.
[12:22] Speaker 1: But if they're going to trade him, this is the
[12:24] Speaker 1: best time while he's down. Yeah, I think trade opportunities
[12:27] Speaker 1: become a lot more available after December 15th. He's going
[12:31] Speaker 1: to be down for about a month. Two to four weeks.
[12:34] Speaker 1: The timeline seems to line up. Set out all the
[12:37] Speaker 1: way to All-Star.
[12:38] Speaker 2: Huh?
[12:39] Speaker 1: Set out to All-Star. Mr. B, you said... I mean,
[12:41] Speaker 1: because he's He had like two or three injuries already
[12:45] Speaker 1: this year. Yeah. So, get fully healthy. Missed games in
[12:49] Speaker 1: multiple postseasons now dealing with these injuries. Like we talked
[12:52] Speaker 1: about the calf strain. Sit down. Precursor to Achilles.
[12:56] Speaker 3: I mean, we're close to it. I mean, we're close
[12:58] Speaker 3: to it. Bro, that's a right calf. You know, that
[13:01] Speaker 3: next thing is that.
[13:02] Speaker 1: Achilles, bro. Especially for how hard. So you got to
[13:05] Speaker 1: take your time. That's one of the highest usage rates
[13:08] Speaker 1: in the league, obviously. You know what I'm saying? If
[13:09] Speaker 1: I see the way he plays.
[13:10] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[13:11] Speaker 1: He leads the league in fast break points. But he's
[13:13] Speaker 1: bound to get hurt. He's seven foot doing all this
[13:17] Speaker 1: guard shit too, though. So that's tough.
[13:22] Speaker 6: You were on the side 20.
[13:26] Speaker 1: So when you look at Giannis, Giannis is one of
[13:27] Speaker 1: the longest tenured players in the league. That's 20. Has
[13:32] Speaker 1: previously taken pride in winning the hard way. by not
[13:35] Speaker 1: leaving and joining the Super Team after they won the
[13:37] Speaker 1: chip in 2021. He said those comments. He said, I
[13:39] Speaker 1: could leave and join the Super Team, play my role,
[13:41] Speaker 1: win a bunch of championships, or I could stay here
[13:42] Speaker 1: and do it the hard way. That was then, but
[13:44] Speaker 1: this is now. Three straight first-round exits. Tough start to
[13:47] Speaker 1: this season. Here's the Bucs championship window. It's shut tight,
[13:51] Speaker 1: at least for now. You did everything you could. For
[13:55] Speaker 1: a person like that, I know you want to win
[13:56] Speaker 1: multiple championships. It's time to go, man. He said that
[14:04] Speaker 1: after he won it? Yeah. With the trophy and finals
[14:09] Speaker 1: MVP by his side.
[14:11] Speaker 2: So him demanding a trade to go win more championships
[14:14] Speaker 2: is a contradiction to what he said.
[14:17] Speaker 1: What? That was then, though. This is now. So that
[14:22] Speaker 1: would be a contradiction to what he said. And he
[14:25] Speaker 1: would be just.
[14:25] Speaker 2: Like everybody else who left and super teamed up to
[14:29] Speaker 2: win championships. See, the problem is he didn't say it
[14:32] Speaker 2: before he won the championship. He said it as, nigga,
[14:35] Speaker 2: I won. I did it all on my own. I
[14:37] Speaker 2: don't need to super team up to win multiple championships.
[14:40] Speaker 1: He just said to win. He didn't say multiple. And
[14:42] Speaker 1: he was lit just for content. No, I'm just saying.
[14:44] Speaker 1: It was turnt up. It's one of those things that,
[14:46] Speaker 1: you know. We be saying shit when we drunk.
[14:48] Speaker 2: You know, the other people who left wasn't as fortunate
[14:52] Speaker 2: as you to win it with the team that they
[14:54] Speaker 2: were in those small markets. They left to go win.
[14:58] Speaker 2: So you were fortunate to win, but the day you won.
[15:01] Speaker 1: This is your.
[15:04] Speaker 2: Statement, and then you're leaving four years later to go
[15:07] Speaker 2: win the championship.
[15:11] Speaker 1: But he didn't say it before.
[15:14] Speaker 2: If he said it before, I'm not going to leave,
[15:16] Speaker 2: I'm going to win the championship here, then he wins it,
[15:19] Speaker 2: statement cool. But you're saying that as you won, to
[15:22] Speaker 2: prove a point to them, I don't need to leave
[15:25] Speaker 2: and go super team up, He proved that point. No,
[15:28] Speaker 2: he didn't because he's saying it after he won. But
[15:31] Speaker 2: he still won, though. But I won.
[15:36] Speaker 1: I hear what you're saying.
[15:37] Speaker 2: So I'm making a statement after I'm holding a trophy.
[15:40] Speaker 2: So now, because your statement is said now, now you have.
[15:43] Speaker 1: To win under the same circumstances. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[15:47] Speaker 2: You can't now go leave and go super team up.
[15:49] Speaker 2: You're no different than LeBron James. You're no different than
[15:52] Speaker 2: Kevin Durant.
[15:53] Speaker 1: He is.
[15:53] Speaker 2: No, he didn't.
[15:54] Speaker 4: He won already, though. That's what I was saying yesterday.
[15:57] Speaker 4: I was saying the same shit. Like, if he do leave,
[16:00] Speaker 4: it's because... He's already solidified.
[16:03] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It's already cemented.
[16:05] Speaker 4: But you're leaving the throne after you've signified that you
[16:08] Speaker 4: don't need a super team. You don't need to do
[16:11] Speaker 4: just like Joker. Joker leaving Denver after winning. It's like,
[16:15] Speaker 4: what do you have to prove? You've proven you can
[16:18] Speaker 4: win without a super team. So that is the ammunition
[16:21] Speaker 4: for everybody else. We won without doing what y'all did.
[16:24] Speaker 4: We proved that we can do this. Me leaving, like
[16:27] Speaker 4: he's saying, is a contradiction completely. That's why I'm like, yo,
[16:31] Speaker 4: if you leave, you're leaving the throne. You're leaving what
[16:35] Speaker 4: you've proven that you can do already.
[16:36] Speaker 6: It's not until somebody else come and do it and
[16:40] Speaker 6: do it more that's taking the throne.
[16:42] Speaker 1: But he did it already. You can't say.
[16:45] Speaker 6: He contradicts him, but he did it already, so he
[16:47] Speaker 6: can go do whatever he want now.
[16:49] Speaker 1: Would you say that SGA and the Thunder are currently
[16:51] Speaker 1: doing that? I'm saying both. So SGA and SGA don't
[16:55] Speaker 1: have to leave.
[16:56] Speaker 3: If we leave and somebody else come in and they
[16:58] Speaker 3: win two or three, then it's not.
[17:00] Speaker 1: About somebody else. It's not about nobody else. It's about you.
[17:03] Speaker 1: You made the statement. And the statement is? It's the statement.
[17:06] Speaker 1: He won. The statement is, I don't have to leave.
[17:08] Speaker 1: I don't need super teams.
[17:10] Speaker 2: He says, I don't have to leave to win championships
[17:13] Speaker 2: and super teams.
[17:14] Speaker 1: And he's proven that. Now you're... Wait, wait. What he
[17:16] Speaker 1: said is, I could have done that. I could have
[17:19] Speaker 1: took the easy route and went to a super team.
[17:20] Speaker 1: This is the hard route. I did it the hard way.
[17:23] Speaker 1: I went with the hard way. So now he did
[17:24] Speaker 1: the hard route. Now it's okay for him to go
[17:26] Speaker 1: do the easy route. To go make it the easy route.
[17:28] Speaker 1: What's that? I mean, yeah, whatever. But it ain't never
[17:31] Speaker 1: easy winning. Yeah. No, no, I'm just, you know.
[17:34] Speaker 4: No, he's saying the easy route is going to Super
[17:36] Speaker 4: to go team up with niggas that can make it.
[17:38] Speaker 1: Easier for you. He tried that, too. He didn't try. Shit,
[17:41] Speaker 1: he ain't leave. Is Dame a superstar? He didn't leave
[17:44] Speaker 1: to do that. I know, but that's still a super team.
[17:46] Speaker 1: But it's not him. No, that's one. I know, not
[17:48] Speaker 1: when he won, but.
[17:49] Speaker 6: I'm talking about did he try that in Milwaukee getting
[17:51] Speaker 6: the super team with Dame?
[17:53] Speaker 1: Yes. No. So what's the difference? No, no, no. What's
[17:55] Speaker 1: the super team? No, no, no. Him, Dame, and Chris Middleton.
[17:58] Speaker 1: That's not super. That is a super team. That's not super.
[18:01] Speaker 1: In the East, that's a super team.
[18:03] Speaker 2: What you're saying is actually a conversation that needs to
[18:08] Speaker 2: be had that you're judging everyone off of three main
[18:17] Speaker 2: characters playing in three big cities that did not have
[18:21] Speaker 2: to leave their cities and they can recruit, right? Magic,
[18:25] Speaker 2: you're the Lakers. You can recruit free agents to come there. Boston,
[18:29] Speaker 2: you can have people come. Chicago, people are coming. Ron
[18:33] Speaker 2: Harper averaged 20. Hey, come over here and win a championship.
[18:36] Speaker 1: All right, bet. Dennis Rodman, hey, hey, come over here.
[18:39] Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
[18:40] Speaker 2: Those cities can do that. Now everybody else who don't
[18:43] Speaker 2: have luxury leaving. So what happens is you don't get
[18:48] Speaker 2: looked down upon for asking people to come to you.
[18:53] Speaker 2: You get looked down for going somewhere. So if you're
[18:56] Speaker 2: a superstar and you leave to go win, bad. If
[19:01] Speaker 2: you're a superstar and you're calling, fine. Because it's my kingdom.
[19:08] Speaker 2: What are you talking about? It's my kingdom.
[19:12] Speaker 1: It's my throne.
[19:13] Speaker 4: You're coming here to sit next to me. You're sitting
[19:17] Speaker 4: next to me. I'm not going to sit next to you.
[19:19] Speaker 4: That's been the difference.
[19:21] Speaker 6: No, because super, like, D-Way, a superstar came in.
[19:25] Speaker 1: That became his Steph Curry.
[19:28] Speaker 7: So when KD went to go sit with the Warriors?
[19:33] Speaker 1: Huh? Did KD go sit with the Warriors? What do
[19:35] Speaker 1: you mean he go sit? Two finals in.
[19:37] Speaker 3: No, he's saying, like, because KD left his throne, so
[19:39] Speaker 3: did KD go sit with the Warriors?
[19:41] Speaker 1: No.
[19:41] Speaker 2: See, the problem with that is– Or did KD– or
[19:43] Speaker 2: was KD– Who looked bad in that, that whole thing?
[19:48] Speaker 1: KD, right? Who came out on top in that whole thing? No,
[19:51] Speaker 1: who came out on top of that? Steph Curry.
[19:53] Speaker 8: Who came out on top of the whole thing?
[19:57] Speaker 1: Where did KD go after? Is he still there? Who
[20:00] Speaker 1: came out on top when he was there? Steph Curry.
[20:03] Speaker 1: When KD was there. Who got killed? Remember. I don't
[20:07] Speaker 1: care who got killed.
[20:08] Speaker 2: You're not listening to what the problem is.
[20:13] Speaker 1: Steph Curry in that group. Called him. We need help. Okay.
[20:20] Speaker 1: He said, all right, bet. Okay. Who did the media kill?
[20:24] Speaker 1: They didn't kill the people crying. That's fine. They killed him.
[20:27] Speaker 1: His legacy got ruined. Yeah.
[20:29] Speaker 2: No matter how many finals MVPs, he's the best player there.
[20:33] Speaker 1: He showed he was the king there.
[20:36] Speaker 2: Okay.
[20:36] Speaker 1: The media said, hmm.
[20:38] Speaker 3: But he'll still finish top ten ever.
[20:41] Speaker 2: But he won't finish in front of the guy he helped.
[20:44] Speaker 2: You got to remember, and this is what a lot
[20:45] Speaker 2: of people don't understand.
[20:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, the guy that he helped. What I'm saying is,
[20:47] Speaker 1: Katie going there. But at that time, though. Katie's guys.
[20:54] Speaker 1: More rings, unfortunately.
[20:56] Speaker 7: Yeah, that's fine, but I'm not he was a higher
[20:59] Speaker 7: He was a higher Call you up like I'm saying.
[21:04] Speaker 4: I think you argument the whole time. It's been his
[21:07] Speaker 4: argument the whole time We called you to come help
[21:10] Speaker 4: us kill the king the other king on this other
[21:12] Speaker 4: side and you helped us Thank you. That's fine But listen,
[21:16] Speaker 4: now you can go. Hey, what did our henchman say?
[21:19] Speaker 4: Now you can take your ass home when we need you.
[21:22] Speaker 4: And then what they do? They won without him.
[21:25] Speaker 1: That's fine. So now Steph is still the king over here.
[21:28] Speaker 1: But why he was there, who was the guy, though?
[21:30] Speaker 2: We know who the guy was, but you're not getting
[21:32] Speaker 2: the credit for the guy.
[21:33] Speaker 1: Does it matter? It does matter. It definitely matters. It
[21:37] Speaker 1: does matter. What do you mean? What are you talking about?
[21:40] Speaker 1: You're on your third team. That's fine. I'm still here.
[21:43] Speaker 1: That's fine. I'm still the king here. I'm still the
[21:47] Speaker 1: king here. I'm still the king here. I'm still Steph.
[21:51] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. At the end of the day,
[21:54] Speaker 1: it all worked out. You're being hired. You're being hired.
[22:00] Speaker 1: He's still a top ten player all time. Still a
[22:03] Speaker 1: top five. Y'all moving the dog post. He will be.
[22:05] Speaker 7: I'm not talking to him. So he's still a top ten.
[22:08] Speaker 7: All time, he would be a top five.
[22:10] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. No, the question is this. Who
[22:13] Speaker 1: gets killed in the move? If both people.
[22:17] Speaker 2: Are being rewarded at the same time, right? When people
[22:21] Speaker 2: talk about Steph Kirby's legacy and KD's legacy, it sounds
[22:25] Speaker 2: like this. KD's two championships, ah, he had the super
[22:29] Speaker 2: team up. Those two rings, asterisks.
[22:33] Speaker 1: Right? Yeah, okay. Steph Curry, four-time champ.
[22:36] Speaker 2: He got four of them champs. Four-time champs. They don't
[22:39] Speaker 2: say two without him. They don't say two. They say
[22:40] Speaker 2: all four.
[22:41] Speaker 1: They say all four. Because he was there. It's his kingdom.
[22:43] Speaker 1: It's his team. It's his shit. You see how unfair
[22:45] Speaker 1: that is. Think about it.
[22:47] Speaker 2: I called you to come help me, meaning I know
[22:50] Speaker 2: you are the difference maker, but I get credit for
[22:53] Speaker 2: all four. They're questioning your two.
[22:56] Speaker 6: That is the same thing about LeBron.
[23:02] Speaker 1: Yes. I don't recall that. It's only an argument for
[23:06] Speaker 1: people who want to argue and they don't give it
[23:08] Speaker 1: to him. Why they don't give him that title? Exactly.
[23:11] Speaker 1: That's because he ain't got five. No, because he got hired.
[23:15] Speaker 4: Because D-Wade called him down there and said, yo, come
[23:19] Speaker 4: down here.
[23:19] Speaker 1: Let's win over here.
[23:21] Speaker 6: Everybody else got different things of why they're not at
[23:24] Speaker 6: the top.
[23:25] Speaker 1: LeBron's because he don't got six rings. No, that's an excuse.
[23:29] Speaker 1: What's the excuse for KD then? That's an excuse. Yes,
[23:33] Speaker 1: but the excuse is real life. They make the excuse.
[23:37] Speaker 1: They look at your.
[23:38] Speaker 2: Resume and say, yeah, you got four, but ooh, hold on.
[23:42] Speaker 2: You won two somewhere else. You had this person. That's
[23:45] Speaker 2: what they're doing. They're depicting.
[23:49] Speaker 1: How you won.
[23:50] Speaker 2: Like if KD won his in OKC and won two
[23:56] Speaker 2: finals MVP, he would have already been in the top
[23:59] Speaker 2: 10 with his two championships. But because... He joined a team.
[24:05] Speaker 2: They're using that against him, even if he's the best
[24:08] Speaker 2: player on a team. You got to remember, LeBron James
[24:10] Speaker 2: was the best player in Miami. If LeBron wins all four.
[24:14] Speaker 1: League MVPs.
[24:15] Speaker 4: If LeBron wins all four in Cleveland.
[24:19] Speaker 1: He was trying. The goal is to win it. If
[24:22] Speaker 1: LeBron wins all four in Cleveland, what do we consider him?
[24:26] Speaker 1: I mean, I think undisputed goal. Undisputed, right? Four straight
[24:31] Speaker 1: in Cleveland. Don't believe he's there. If he won one
[24:33] Speaker 1: with the Clippers, too, I would also give him that.
[24:35] Speaker 4: But then there's still the conversation. Is six more than four?
[24:38] Speaker 4: Is five more than four? You got two more to get, bro.
[24:43] Speaker 4: Maybe even three if you want to get to the top.
[24:46] Speaker 4: These are the conversations he's had, regardless of how anybody's feeling.
[24:50] Speaker 1: Still, it don't matter. Four.
[24:53] Speaker 1: Six, five, all that shit matters in the conversation. I
[24:57] Speaker 1: think KD's situation is different, though. You're joining the 73-9
[25:00] Speaker 1: Warriors team, already set the single season, wins record. Obviously,
[25:03] Speaker 1: then I went in the finals. I understand all that,
[25:08] Speaker 1: but I'm saying the optics look a little different. Now
[25:10] Speaker 1: you're going to a team that's already a super team.
[25:12] Speaker 1: Because they don't want to look at the real optics.
[25:15] Speaker 1: They called him for help. He answered. He answered. You
[25:20] Speaker 1: know what I mean?
[25:20] Speaker 8: But there's four other teams that call too. If he
[25:23] Speaker 8: would have been like Brian, it would be different. The
[25:25] Speaker 8: goal is to win a championship.
[25:28] Speaker 1: No, because he can't. They already champs. No, I'm not
[25:32] Speaker 1: talking about now. I'm talking about back before he got hurt.
[25:35] Speaker 1: Even if he would have won one in Brooklyn. They
[25:37] Speaker 1: already had wrote it. Oh, yeah. He's the man on
[25:41] Speaker 1: this team, but he brung in who? A super team
[25:44] Speaker 1: with him. You know what I mean?
[25:46] Speaker 4: I think it's different because he is his team, and
[25:48] Speaker 4: he's bringing guys in. That's a change in dynamic. Golden
[25:53] Speaker 4: State was his team. What happened is you get the call.
[25:56] Speaker 4: And I respect that he wanted that matchup with Braun.
[25:58] Speaker 4: You get the call, and you don't answer the call.
[26:00] Speaker 4: You don't win when you get caught somewhere else.
[26:03] Speaker 1: He wanted the revenge. What happened? He's been to other places.
[26:07] Speaker 7: All you remember is KD3 in the final. KD wanted
[26:10] Speaker 7: the revenge from Braun. So, yeah, of course I'm.
[26:12] Speaker 1: Going to go to State. This brings me back to Giannis.
[26:13] Speaker 1: Giannis already won a chip with Milwaukee. Their first chip
[26:16] Speaker 1: in 50 years is Milwaukee, right? It's not one of
[26:18] Speaker 1: these big major market teams. He did that. So what's
[26:21] Speaker 1: more important for Giannis? Loyalty or legacy at this point
[26:24] Speaker 1: in his career? He's in his 13th season. Three straight
[26:26] Speaker 1: first-round exits. He's a lot to blame for those with
[26:29] Speaker 1: the injuries in those three postseason exits. He's to blame
[26:32] Speaker 1: because he got hurt? He's for them not advancing past it.
[26:35] Speaker 1: I'm not blaming his injury. I'm just saying, if we're
[26:37] Speaker 1: looking back, saying we've been knocked out of the first round.
[26:39] Speaker 1: People use his injury as an excuse for why they
[26:42] Speaker 1: didn't win. You weren't here, dawg. You missed a ton
[26:44] Speaker 1: of games. Giannis got hurt. Giannis got hurt. Burst of
[26:49] Speaker 1: heat and the burst of patience in these last two seasons.
[26:51] Speaker 1: If Giannis was healthy... All the motherfuckers that don't play.
[26:54] Speaker 1: They were the ones to see when they lost at Heat. Obviously,
[26:56] Speaker 1: Boothoser got booted after that season, but if he plays
[27:00] Speaker 1: all of that series, a lot of people would seem
[27:01] Speaker 1: to believe that they would have advanced and obviously had
[27:03] Speaker 1: a chance.
[27:03] Speaker 2: I feel like they did. Now, when you talk about legacy,
[27:10] Speaker 2: it's what he wants his legacy to be. It's how
[27:16] Speaker 2: he sees himself because.
[27:19] Speaker 1: The people who are judging.
[27:21] Speaker 2: The people who are placing you in These lists and
[27:26] Speaker 2: these orders that the world sees They have different opinions
[27:30] Speaker 2: about how they're judging you Right. Um, you get a
[27:34] Speaker 2: pass if you get traded You look down upon if
[27:38] Speaker 2: you ask for the trade You know what I mean?
[27:40] Speaker 1: So, you know, like if.
[27:41] Speaker 2: You're doc rivers and you say he never asked doc
[27:44] Speaker 2: saved image. I Because Doc is saying he's never asked
[27:48] Speaker 2: for a trade. So if he leaves, it's because the
[27:50] Speaker 2: team wanted it.
[27:51] Speaker 1: So it kind of helped him there, but... Similar to Luka, basically.
[27:57] Speaker 2: If you go team up with Luka and win four,
[28:02] Speaker 2: as players, you have five. Yeah, you got motherfucking five
[28:06] Speaker 2: because we know you're going to average damn near 30
[28:08] Speaker 2: and 12.
[28:10] Speaker 1: Right. We already know you're going to do that.
[28:13] Speaker 2: Now, will the people who actually has the vote, are
[28:17] Speaker 2: they going to are they going to give him his
[28:19] Speaker 2: four as 100 percent.
[28:21] Speaker 1: Like everybody else?
[28:23] Speaker 2: Or are they going to say you teamed up with
[28:25] Speaker 2: another megastar?
[28:27] Speaker 1: But this situation is different, though. Obviously, the Bucs aren't
[28:29] Speaker 1: trading Giannis unless he demands that of them. No, see,
[28:32] Speaker 1: now you changed the narrative.
[28:33] Speaker 2: Now if he gets traded, they're going to say exactly
[28:36] Speaker 2: what you said. Doc said he's never asked.
[28:39] Speaker 4: So if he gets traded, the buck's traded. I'm with you.
[28:44] Speaker 4: Doc's saying he never came to me. He didn't ask
[28:47] Speaker 4: me for a trade. The insiders are saying the dude
[28:50] Speaker 4: that he asked for a trade came to me and said, no,
[28:52] Speaker 4: he told me yesterday he wanted us to get rid
[28:54] Speaker 4: of him and me and the agent had dinner with him.
[28:56] Speaker 1: We're trying to figure out where to put him. A
[28:58] Speaker 1: lot of this is stemming from them stretching Dame Lillard
[29:01] Speaker 1: I mean, he wanted them to sign Miles Turner. I
[29:02] Speaker 1: don't think he was necessarily made aware that that would
[29:04] Speaker 1: require to stretch Dame, and that's where these initial reports
[29:07] Speaker 1: said he wanted to go to the Knicks. At that point,
[29:09] Speaker 1: who knows what's really going on. Also, he thought he
[29:11] Speaker 1: was going to have Dame and... I think that was
[29:13] Speaker 1: maybe what he was... Look, at the end of the day, man,
[29:18] Speaker 1: he is a... Him and Kareem are the legends of Milwaukee, right?
[29:29] Speaker 1: They did something that others couldn't do, Oscar? His legacy,
[29:33] Speaker 1: who he is. Was Oscar there when he won one?
[29:36] Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't think Kareem won one in Milwaukee. Kareem
[29:38] Speaker 9: won one in Milwaukee. He did, but I don't think
[29:40] Speaker 9: of him as a Milwaukee. Nobody thinks that. That's because
[29:43] Speaker 9: your mind has been... Yeah, you don't know basketball. But
[29:46] Speaker 9: I'm a LA man.
[29:49] Speaker 1: I think of him... I don't care about what I'm saying.
[29:51] Speaker 1: What I see is showtime. What the fuck? They have
[29:55] Speaker 1: a lot more, just like Detroit Championship. Don't put him
[29:58] Speaker 1: nowhere else.
[29:59] Speaker 2: You know, Detroit Championship, that city loves that team. You know,
[30:02] Speaker 2: those two teams that won because... You don't supposed to win.
[30:06] Speaker 2: It's rigged against you. You never got traded from Charlotte
[30:10] Speaker 2: to the Lakers.
[30:12] Speaker 1: Huh? What'd you say, Swaggy? Hey, Josiah, what was your question?
[30:17] Speaker 1: You said to Giannis what? I said, what's more important
[30:19] Speaker 1: for Giannis, loyalty or legacy? At this point in his career,
[30:22] Speaker 1: talked about those comments 2021. I did it the hard way. Milwaukee,
[30:26] Speaker 1: one of the longest tenured players in the league, I think,
[30:28] Speaker 1: behind Steph and Draymond. Only guys with more tenure with
[30:30] Speaker 1: their same team now. But at a certain point, shit,
[30:33] Speaker 1: we done got knocked out of the playoffs in the
[30:34] Speaker 1: first round, three straight seasons. I mean, I'm looking at
[30:36] Speaker 1: this roster right now.
[30:38] Speaker 3: Man, the best thing to do is just, man, go
[30:42] Speaker 3: somewhere where you're happy. Be somewhere you're happy and where
[30:45] Speaker 3: you can just have fun, man. I mean, it's your legacy,
[30:48] Speaker 3: so who cares what people have to say? What happened
[30:50] Speaker 3: to just winning the championship is, like, the main thing. Like,
[30:53] Speaker 3: why are people so mad at ourselves?
[30:56] Speaker 1: Because LeBron. Because they hate LeBron.
[30:57] Speaker 6: If I trade, if I go here to win, but
[30:59] Speaker 6: the goal is to win. It don't matter where I
[31:02] Speaker 6: go or how I do it. No, that was the goal.
[31:06] Speaker 6: That was the goal in basketball. It changed.
[31:09] Speaker 1: Like you just said, Kareem. LeBron. It's like they hated
[31:12] Speaker 1: LeBron so much they started using the term ring chaser. Like, oh, nigga,
[31:16] Speaker 1: you're trying to chase championships. It's LeBron, because LeBron came
[31:20] Speaker 1: in here and did it his way.
[31:21] Speaker 8: But ain't that the goal, though? That's how I'm a
[31:24] Speaker 8: ring chaser, yes, but if I won't champion. No, the
[31:26] Speaker 8: goal is to win in life, right? Don't I want
[31:29] Speaker 8: to chase championships? No, the rules, I got to let
[31:32] Speaker 8: them come to me?
[31:32] Speaker 6: When you're at the park, you pick the best four
[31:36] Speaker 6: to stay on the court and win, right?
[31:37] Speaker 1: Yes. What's the difference?
[31:39] Speaker 4: The difference is you get all the way to the finals.
[31:43] Speaker 4: with the niggas you picked. Can I finish?
[31:45] Speaker 1: Goddamn, nigga. You can't wait. You can't wait. You can't wait.
[31:52] Speaker 1: You can't wait.
[31:53] Speaker 4: You got all the way there with the same niggas
[31:56] Speaker 4: you picked.
[31:57] Speaker 1: And then you left.
[32:00] Speaker 4: To go play with five other niggas that you wanted
[32:02] Speaker 4: to play with.
[32:03] Speaker 1: I'm tired of playing with this boy. I want to
[32:05] Speaker 1: do it. I do that every day at 24.
[32:07] Speaker 4: No one's saying you couldn't have played and won with
[32:10] Speaker 4: these five that you picked and got to the championship.
[32:13] Speaker 1: You were just outmatched with the team you went up against.
[32:15] Speaker 6: And somebody else picked you back up on 24 or
[32:16] Speaker 6: you ain't going to play on that team?
[32:18] Speaker 1: I'm running it back. You're running it back? I'm running
[32:21] Speaker 1: it back. We got here. Why are we not going
[32:24] Speaker 1: to run it back? Because we suck. We don't. We
[32:26] Speaker 1: got to the finals. Lucky. How do we suck? Lucky. Lucky.
[32:31] Speaker 1: You got to the finals. Well, I'm out. Well, I'm
[32:34] Speaker 1: like LeBron. I'm out. I got to put myself in
[32:36] Speaker 1: the best position. You got to the finals and lost.
[32:37] Speaker 1: Damn all that. I can sit up here and play
[32:40] Speaker 1: with them. Y'all got me in here playing, being GM.
[32:42] Speaker 1: Y'all can get Kyrie and everybody, and I'll come back.
[32:46] Speaker 1: But I'm always putting myself in the best position to win.
[32:48] Speaker 1: But we asked to chat what's more important for Giannis,
[32:51] Speaker 1: loyalty or legacy? 82% of the chat say legacy is
[32:55] Speaker 1: more important for you. 1998 is when ring culture became
[33:00] Speaker 1: a thing. What? It was 1998.
[33:02] Speaker 2: Before ring culture. There was no ring culture before 1998. Yes,
[33:08] Speaker 2: there was. It's called winning a championship.
[33:10] Speaker 4: It started when the first basketball game happened and you
[33:14] Speaker 4: win at the end of the season, the championship happens.
[33:16] Speaker 4: That's ring culture, the first champion. First champion in any sport.
[33:21] Speaker 4: First person who won the championship, that started the ring culture.
[33:25] Speaker 4: That means next season, somebody else is trying to win
[33:29] Speaker 4: the championship. Every year after that, is a champion is
[33:34] Speaker 4: going to be named. That's going to be, that creates
[33:36] Speaker 4: a culture of who's going to win the championship.
[33:39] Speaker 2: No, ring culture on the players themselves are the greatest
[33:41] Speaker 2: of all time.
[33:44] Speaker 1: I don't think anybody with MJ1 and 6 is going
[33:46] Speaker 1: around saying, I'm talking to you. You know what I'm
[33:47] Speaker 1: talking about, nigga. When ring culture.
[33:53] Speaker 2: Of who is the greatest of all time, when they
[33:57] Speaker 2: used rings for your greatness, came in 1998.
[34:01] Speaker 1: That's when Jordan retired.
[34:07] Speaker 2: Before 1998, there was no ring culture. It didn't matter
[34:13] Speaker 2: how many wins you, no matter how many rings you had,
[34:17] Speaker 2: it was The eye test of your greatness. Didn't have
[34:23] Speaker 2: nothing with 6, 5, 3, 2, 1. It didn't have
[34:27] Speaker 2: nothing to do with that. When Jordan, 1989, MJ was
[34:34] Speaker 2: already becoming the greatest player of all time. They already
[34:39] Speaker 2: saying this might be the best player that ever walked
[34:42] Speaker 2: this planet.
[34:43] Speaker 1: After the Olympics, he had two rings.
[34:48] Speaker 2: In the playoffs, Magic Johnson, national TV, said he is
[34:53] Speaker 2: the greatest player of all time. He only had two rings.
[34:57] Speaker 2: Isaiah Thomas seconded. In the playoffs, while he's playing, the
[35:03] Speaker 2: whole broadcast was this is the greatest man that ever lived.
[35:06] Speaker 1: He is the GOAT. He only had two rings at
[35:09] Speaker 1: the time.
[35:10] Speaker 2: When he retired, the first time he retired with three rings,
[35:15] Speaker 2: he was the greatest player that ever played. No one
[35:19] Speaker 2: questioned how many rings he had, even though there was
[35:21] Speaker 2: a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, even though Magic had five.
[35:25] Speaker 1: Bill Russell had 11. You know what I mean? Bill Russell,
[35:26] Speaker 1: there was no... Who? Bill Russell had 11. You know
[35:29] Speaker 1: why they never mentioned him? Because you can't. There's too many.
[35:35] Speaker 1: We're not even going to talk about Bill. Leave him
[35:38] Speaker 1: out the conversation. They did. They did. They had to.
[35:40] Speaker 6: Hey, Mike, until you get this many, until you get.
[35:45] Speaker 4: This many, we're not even having the conversation with me
[35:49] Speaker 4: against y'all.
[35:49] Speaker 1: I've won 11. Bill Russell wasn't going around saying 11
[35:52] Speaker 1: is more than six.
[35:53] Speaker 2: And then before five, and then before he won his
[35:56] Speaker 2: second one, Magic was considered.
[35:58] Speaker 1: It kind of had him as the GOAT.
[36:00] Speaker 2: And then in 98, when he retired, and they said,
[36:05] Speaker 2: this is what the GOAT is. And then they started
[36:07] Speaker 2: using all of his accolades. Then they started putting people
[36:11] Speaker 2: back in order. And then that's how Kareem jumped the tube.
[36:14] Speaker 2: And then they started doing like that.
[36:15] Speaker 1: So Kareem never actually had a chance at claiming the
[36:19] Speaker 1: GOAT status. Because it wasn't a thing. Because it wasn't
[36:22] Speaker 1: a thing. There was other reasons, too, where Kareem wasn't a...
[36:26] Speaker 1: I mean, his... His religious beliefs, they weren't really rocking. Oh,
[36:30] Speaker 1: back then. Number one leading scorer of all time. They
[36:32] Speaker 1: didn't care about that. Oh, yeah, back then, yeah, back then.
[36:35] Speaker 2: They didn't care about none of that, but he was
[36:36] Speaker 2: eating beanpox. Mike had some great marketing back then. No,
[36:39] Speaker 2: what I'm saying is, think about it.
[36:40] Speaker 1: Mike marketing, it was... This is the greatest....
[36:43] Speaker 4: Because there was two guys always in front of him.
[36:46] Speaker 4: Two guys always in front of Mike that no one's
[36:48] Speaker 4: going to talk about because we're going.
[36:50] Speaker 1: To let young fella do his thing, man. Let him
[36:52] Speaker 1: promote because we don't care about none of that shit.
[36:54] Speaker 1: Magic is a nice guy, too.
[36:55] Speaker 4: Kareem number one all time and then I got this
[36:58] Speaker 4: five chips Kareem had.
[37:00] Speaker 1: Okay, this dude got six.
[37:02] Speaker 4: He got 11 championships and they wasn't even giving out
[37:04] Speaker 4: certain awards back then. So why are we even having
[37:08] Speaker 4: a conversation about them? We're not even talking about them.
[37:11] Speaker 4: Come on, Michael. You and Larry, y'all try to do
[37:13] Speaker 4: some shit. You and Magic, y'all try to do some shit.
[37:16] Speaker 4: Give us a new bravo in the NBA. Kareem, six chips,
[37:19] Speaker 4: six MVPs. Six chips, six MVPs. But only two finals MVPs,
[37:23] Speaker 4: just for content.
[37:25] Speaker 1: Come on, man. Yeah, and he was never considered a GOAT.
[37:29] Speaker 1: 71 and 85. That's what I'm saying. He was never
[37:31] Speaker 1: considered it. 19 All-Stars. 15 on the NBA. 98. And
[37:36] Speaker 1: then I tried 98. 11 on defense selection. Every year
[37:42] Speaker 1: he going. Almost where Bruce Lee's ass in the game
[37:44] Speaker 1: of death. Almost. Yeah. Came close. Yeah. Closer to him. Almost.
[37:48] Speaker 1: Closer to him. Almost. Almost. Then it became an accolade thing.
[37:52] Speaker 1: So we will continue to monitor the Giannis situation.
[37:54] Speaker 6: So you're saying in 98 when Jordan got six, one
[37:58] Speaker 6: more than Magic, that's when he solidified the game?
[38:00] Speaker 1: No, no, no.
[38:00] Speaker 2: In 92. 92 playoffs when he was going for his third. Oh,
[38:05] Speaker 2: they crowned him already. They crowned him already. So that's
[38:07] Speaker 2: why when you retired, there wasn't no other goat talk.
[38:10] Speaker 2: It was just him.
[38:11] Speaker 1: So before that, nobody's ever said who was the, they
[38:13] Speaker 1: never said Magic.
[38:16] Speaker 2: No, the word greatest of all time came from LL
[38:18] Speaker 2: Cool J's wife. And then so they put a name
[38:21] Speaker 2: to it.
[38:22] Speaker 1: Wait, huh?
[38:23] Speaker 2: LL Cool J. LL Cool J. Ladies love Cool J. Yeah,
[38:27] Speaker 2: she came up with the word. Goat, okay greatest of
[38:31] Speaker 2: all time and then that's when people started using it
[38:33] Speaker 2: and then that's what they said Jordan was and I.
[38:36] Speaker 1: Gave him right you It was a well-researched man. You
[38:42] Speaker 1: know that So.
[38:43] Speaker 2: That's why that's why the Kobe slander happened Remember Kobe
[38:48] Speaker 2: is three years after when he became a three-time for
[38:53] Speaker 2: four years in a sense where he became a three-time,
[38:56] Speaker 2: three-peater already. So everybody's talking about, oh, shit, the next
[38:59] Speaker 2: person since Mike, a shooting guard, the next Michael, he.
[39:03] Speaker 1: Already got three. He's about to have seven or eight.
[39:06] Speaker 2: And then that's when Jordan's media, who's still in there
[39:09] Speaker 2: a little bit, But shutting that shit down, because Jordan
[39:12] Speaker 2: just came back.
[39:12] Speaker 1: That's how hard it is to win a championship. And
[39:14] Speaker 1: that's when he got torn.
[39:16] Speaker 2: The same, if you go back, the same media that
[39:18] Speaker 2: tore Kobe down, same media that's tearing LeBron down.
[39:20] Speaker 1: Got three at the age of 21. But we all
[39:23] Speaker 1: just got to get along. All right, but let's keep
[39:25] Speaker 1: this thing moving. Another interesting story from that Bucks-Pistons game.
[39:29] Speaker 1: Tough night for Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart. Let's take
[39:33] Speaker 1: a look at the videos. So third quarter, he got
[39:37] Speaker 1: yammed on by Myles Turner. You may recall last season,
[39:40] Speaker 1: Beef Stew told Myles Turner that he plays with Legos. Oh, yeah.
[39:43] Speaker 2: Legos that. Myles Turner got a hug. A little bit
[39:47] Speaker 2: of revenge for that.
[39:47] Speaker 1: Then later in the third quarter, Stewart got into it
[39:49] Speaker 1: with Bobby Portis after getting fouled on a shot attempt.
[39:52] Speaker 1: Two got in each other's faces. Had to be separated.
[39:57] Speaker 1: Best part right here. He came from the fist. Stewart
[40:00] Speaker 1: threatening bodily harm on the bucked forward. He was ejected
[40:03] Speaker 1: from the game after picking up his second tech. Amongst
[40:06] Speaker 1: choice words that he told Portis, B-Stew allegedly said, you
[40:09] Speaker 1: want some, I'll kill you, nigga. He's a little scared
[40:16] Speaker 1: of Bobby. I like it. These are two gentlemen, obviously,
[40:21] Speaker 1: who don't want to be trifled with. I respect Bobby Porter, too. Bobby, like,
[40:26] Speaker 1: he'd choke you, too. You'd just die. He's Jamaican, too. Unwavering. But, Mr. Ben,
[40:31] Speaker 1: I know you're watching the game. What was your reaction
[40:32] Speaker 1: to that situation? Hey, it's basketball, man. Just entertainment. Some content.
[40:37] Speaker 3: Ain't nobody going to hurt Punch Nobody.
[40:40] Speaker 1: Whoa. You got to hit him first, boy. He didn't
[40:44] Speaker 1: want no Bobby Porter. That's why you did it. You're
[40:47] Speaker 1: so mad. You don't know what to do. That took
[40:52] Speaker 1: me off. That's exactly what happened. He was so mad
[40:55] Speaker 1: he didn't know what to do. He was so mad
[40:57] Speaker 1: he just said, ooh, ooh, ooh.
[40:59] Speaker 4: I want to punch you. I want to punch you
[41:01] Speaker 4: so bad. I'll punch you in your snout, boy.
[41:04] Speaker 1: In his snout. Come on, man. Come on.
[41:11] Speaker 6: You know how mad you got to be to just
[41:14] Speaker 6: do that, though?
[41:15] Speaker 1: To do this. That's what I'm saying. I just want
[41:19] Speaker 1: to hit you so hard. And shake your head. Doing
[41:23] Speaker 1: this lift like that. I just want to hit you.
[41:28] Speaker 1: But Beastie has been a vital player in the Pistons
[41:29] Speaker 1: rotation off the bench this season. Averaging 10.6 rebounds, shooting 53%
[41:32] Speaker 1: from the field, 41 from three. in addition to serving
[41:36] Speaker 1: as the mediator for any verbal or physical disputes for
[41:38] Speaker 1: the squad. So I just want to get your guys' opinion.
[41:39] Speaker 1: How important is B-Stew's role as an enforcer on this
[41:42] Speaker 1: bad boys 2.0 Piston squad? I like it.
[41:47] Speaker 6: You know, after that, you seen what he did to
[41:49] Speaker 6: the coach? Like, it wouldn't even have been a coach face.
[41:51] Speaker 1: Like, I want to just, I'm going.
[41:52] Speaker 4: To give up.
[41:53] Speaker 1: Like, you saw how, like, think about that. How did
[41:56] Speaker 1: you do that to the coach? Like... The coach was
[41:58] Speaker 1: holding him back. He was talking to the coach.
[42:00] Speaker 2: Like, I just want to fuck him up right now.
[42:03] Speaker 1: And you think he's out there for play play? And
[42:05] Speaker 1: the coach was like, yeah, it's okay. Yeah, it's okay.
[42:09] Speaker 1: But that's like a good communication. No, that's not a
[42:11] Speaker 1: good communication. That is.
[42:12] Speaker 6: The normal coaches are scared to even be around some
[42:15] Speaker 6: shit like that.
[42:16] Speaker 1: He was talking to him while he was acting crazy.
[42:18] Speaker 1: Talking him off the edge, perhaps. Talking him off the edge, bro.
[42:22] Speaker 1: So y'all don't even know the last time he did
[42:24] Speaker 1: one of those? Tomorrow? No, no, no. He was in Phoenix.
[42:31] Speaker 1: He wasn't playing. It was his day off. No, no, no, no.
[42:36] Speaker 1: He walked in. Bad boys 3.0, excuse me. He walked in. No, no, no. No, no,
[42:41] Speaker 1: that's not bad. That's what the chat said, Gil, and
[42:42] Speaker 1: I respect our chat.
[42:44] Speaker 2: No, they're capping. Chauncey Billis and them wasn't bad boys.
[42:48] Speaker 2: They played fucking defense. That was no dirty team.
[42:52] Speaker 1: I want to say this business squad is a dirty team.
[42:55] Speaker 2: That wasn't like bad boys. They just played in Detroit.
[42:58] Speaker 2: They was locked down. They didn't clothesline. They didn't do
[43:01] Speaker 2: dirty shit. But they got into a big fight.
[43:04] Speaker 1: That wasn't, yeah.
[43:05] Speaker 2: But, yeah, I don't know if you know Beast, too. Yeah,
[43:09] Speaker 2: or Phoenix Suns, he wasn't playing.
[43:11] Speaker 1: Went and... Huh? What's his name? Bubak? What's his name? Bubak?
[43:17] Speaker 1: It was some white boy. Nerd? Nerd? Nerd? No, no.
[43:21] Speaker 1: That was somebody else on the bench.
[43:23] Speaker 6: What?
[43:24] Speaker 1: Who? Walked in. Oh, Ebay? That happened months ago. Who?
[43:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, because he told them, when we come to town,
[43:30] Speaker 2: be ready.
[43:31] Speaker 1: Ebay. Through Ebay. Ebay. Wasn't ready. Knocked his tooth. No way. Whatever.
[43:36] Speaker 1: He came in. They locked him. He was in a tunnel. Tunnel.
[43:39] Speaker 1: You seen him in a tunnel. Wait for him in
[43:41] Speaker 1: a tunnel. Got that real early. You gotta come this way.
[43:45] Speaker 1: We both missing this game.
[43:49] Speaker 5: Hours before the game. Hours before the game. Just waiting there, yeah.
[43:56] Speaker 5: He told him last time, okay. And he was a
[43:59] Speaker 5: man of his word. Arrested, issued a citation, and didn't release.
[44:03] Speaker 1: He had the prison. He had the prison talking. I
[44:05] Speaker 1: told him he wasn't ready. Him got two heads and
[44:13] Speaker 1: four eyes. Yes! No way. Yes. Not a man to
[44:17] Speaker 1: be trifling with. Yes, man. On his day off. I
[44:21] Speaker 1: don't think he wanted none of them Bobby Porters, though. Yeah.
[44:24] Speaker 1: Porter fights, too, though. Bobby Porters? They both going to
[44:28] Speaker 1: be getting down. That's what I'm saying. That was a
[44:29] Speaker 1: good one. That'd be a good one. Last of a
[44:30] Speaker 1: dying breed. That's actually a fight that I look at
[44:32] Speaker 1: and I'm like, you know, this would be interesting. Gloves on. Yeah, yeah.
[44:36] Speaker 2: I don't want to see people get hit like that.
[44:39] Speaker 2: I grew up in that Worldstar era, and I didn't
[44:41] Speaker 2: like it. I'm going to just tell you that.
[44:42] Speaker 1: You didn't like Worldstar videos? I didn't like people getting
[44:44] Speaker 1: knocked out like that. Yeah, I didn't like that. I'm
[44:47] Speaker 1: just one of those guys.
[44:48] Speaker 2: You see, like, Fair Fight, I want to see everybody
[44:50] Speaker 2: still on their feet.
[44:51] Speaker 1: When you see somebody just like, I don't like that. Next.
[44:56] Speaker 6: Did you enjoy.
[44:58] Speaker 1: The Kimbo Slice backyard brawl? Yeah, I can't watch that shit.
[45:01] Speaker 1: That was crazy. That was crazy. The Kimbo Slice? Kimbo
[45:04] Speaker 1: was cold. He was walking. Let's get it. All right,
[45:08] Speaker 1: I'm out. All right. Backyard fades. What was that show?
[45:13] Speaker 1: Faces of Death? Couldn't watch it. Nope. What's that? Oh,
[45:18] Speaker 1: he was a little kid then. It was Faces of Death.
[45:20] Speaker 1: It was like... I don't know how they let that
[45:22] Speaker 1: on YouTube. It was like just... people dying.
[45:25] Speaker 4: But you can see it. That's a little different. It's
[45:28] Speaker 4: like shock videos.
[45:30] Speaker 2: Shock videos back then. Like, you see it. Like, person
[45:33] Speaker 2: get hit by a train, body split.
[45:34] Speaker 1: Oh, that's... Like, I'm doing ways to die.
[45:38] Speaker 2: I was sitting there like, yeah, you know, so I
[45:40] Speaker 2: was like, I can't watch this.
[45:41] Speaker 1: Busting a nigga's body. I mean, watch a nigga get socked, okay,
[45:46] Speaker 1: just seeing their body explode is kind of the limit.
[45:48] Speaker 1: Y'all just fight the train. We're peaceful people here at
[45:51] Speaker 1: Gills Arena presenting my underdog, Woo Woo. But do you respect,
[45:54] Speaker 1: I mean, do you respect the role that Beef Stew
[45:56] Speaker 1: plays with that squad? He gets it done on the court,
[45:58] Speaker 1: back up center, Jalen Durant. Yeah, he has to be.
[46:01] Speaker 1: Going into his own book. Like right now, they're winning.
[46:06] Speaker 1: It helps, right? He's in force.
[46:08] Speaker 2: So someone like Cade, even though he, you know, he
[46:11] Speaker 2: defends himself like, You don't pick on Cade because there's
[46:15] Speaker 2: a beast in the dirt. You have guys that if
[46:19] Speaker 2: you try to bully and try to take our guy out,
[46:22] Speaker 2: we have dudes that don't play that.
[46:25] Speaker 1: You need that as a star.
[46:27] Speaker 2: If you don't have that as a star, when you're
[46:30] Speaker 2: sitting there in the playoffs, the easy way to take
[46:33] Speaker 2: him out.
[46:33] Speaker 1: Is put a pit bull on him. Rough him up.
[46:37] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like with Dwayne Wade, he
[46:39] Speaker 2: has him. You close line, Dwyane Wade, you hit him,
[46:44] Speaker 2: you know if you even thought about driving, Haslam at
[46:47] Speaker 2: any point is trying to hurt you.
[46:49] Speaker 1: And that was the point. So he's perfect for what
[46:53] Speaker 1: they got going on over there. Did you guys appreciate
[46:56] Speaker 1: that when you were in the league? Knowing somebody was there?
[46:59] Speaker 1: For sure. Had your back, let you do what you
[47:02] Speaker 1: needed to do. Back jack, for sure. Hashtag Jack. Honorable man.

[47:16] Speaker 1: You had a big hit. I had you. No, no, no.
[47:18] Speaker 1: Not when I left. Not when I left.
[47:21] Speaker 6: You was the type of person that do something in
[47:23] Speaker 6: the game or that's the game.
[47:24] Speaker 1: Oh, you fucking with me? All right, I didn't see him. Stop, stop.
[47:30] Speaker 1: Oh man, I got court date, bitch. Oh, I forgot.

[49:04] Speaker 1: about the memories, y'all. And speaking of memories, just hours
[49:09] Speaker 1: after cutting ties with franchise great Chris Paul, the Clippers
[49:12] Speaker 1: were back in action Wednesday night to take on the
[49:13] Speaker 1: Hawks in Atlanta. Before the game, Tyloo was asked about
[49:16] Speaker 1: the decision to part ways with CP3 and had this
[49:19] Speaker 1: to say.
[49:21] Speaker 10: Don't have a side.
[49:22] Speaker 11: I don't like it. It just didn't work out like
[49:26] Speaker 11: we thought it would. Like I said, I don't like
[49:29] Speaker 11: it for CP. It just wasn't a good fit. We
[49:33] Speaker 11: understood that. Like I said, it was an organization. They
[49:38] Speaker 11: made the choice. You know, and so moving forward, you know,
[49:43] Speaker 11: we got to see what we do.
[49:44] Speaker 10: So, you know, we'll see.
[49:47] Speaker 12: Back to Chris for a second. You said it was
[49:50] Speaker 12: an organizational decision. Were you part of that decision? Do
[49:53] Speaker 12: you agree with the decision?
[49:57] Speaker 1: Bring your ass back over here, nigga.
[49:59] Speaker 10: I don't think it necessarily helped our team.
[50:00] Speaker 11: I mean, I don't think the reason why we're 5-16
[50:03] Speaker 11: is because of CP's, you know, play. I just think
[50:07] Speaker 11: that it wasn't a good fit for what he was
[50:09] Speaker 11: looking for.
[50:10] Speaker 10: And, you know, it is what it is. And so,
[50:12] Speaker 10: do I want to see CP go out like this?
[50:15] Speaker 1: No.
[50:15] Speaker 11: I have a lot of respect for him. He's been
[50:16] Speaker 11: a friend of mine over the years. And you don't
[50:19] Speaker 11: want to see a great go out, you know, like this.
[50:22] Speaker 1: You didn't see shit because you was doing shit. But
[50:26] Speaker 1: CP3 was active on social media following the move. Let's
[50:29] Speaker 1: take a look at what CP3 was doing. if we
[50:32] Speaker 1: don't mind, posting this screen grab on his IG story
[50:35] Speaker 1: of a FaceTime with his Lob City Clippers teammates, Blake
[50:38] Speaker 1: Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. The trio appear to be all smiles.
[50:43] Speaker 1: Each of them had their own situation with the Clippers. Oh, smiling.
[50:46] Speaker 1: They're at the crib. So Clippers went on to get
[50:50] Speaker 1: their biggest road win of the season against the Hawks.
[50:52] Speaker 1: Spoiling outcast night. Shout out to Big Boy who was
[50:55] Speaker 1: in attendance. We had a lengthy discussion about the situation yesterday,
[50:58] Speaker 1: but more info has come to light from both sides
[51:00] Speaker 1: about the messy divorce. So according to Sam Amick from
[51:03] Speaker 1: The Athletic, after weeks of growing tension between Paul and
[51:05] Speaker 1: the franchise, president of basketball ops Lawrence Frank requested a
[51:09] Speaker 1: meeting with CP3 Tuesday night in Atlanta with the team
[51:12] Speaker 1: traveling from Miami. Clippers flight was delayed several hours due
[51:15] Speaker 1: to mechanical issues on the plane, which delayed the start
[51:17] Speaker 1: of the meeting until 11 p.m. local time. Meeting lasted
[51:20] Speaker 1: three hours after which the Clippers decided to cut ties,
[51:23] Speaker 1: leading to CP3 announcing the split on his IG story
[51:26] Speaker 1: at 2.40 a.m. local time. So from the Clippers vantage point,
[51:29] Speaker 1: They were happy to bring in Paul for his final season,
[51:31] Speaker 1: but attempted to manage expectations repeatedly about his role with
[51:34] Speaker 1: the team and grew increasingly frustrated with what was described
[51:37] Speaker 1: as his locker room lawyering. So according to Chris Haynes,
[51:41] Speaker 1: CP3 requested to have a meeting with Ty Lue to
[51:43] Speaker 1: discuss allegations of being a negative presence on the team,
[51:46] Speaker 1: but Lue refused to meet with him with the pair
[51:49] Speaker 1: not speaking for several weeks. So we talked about it yesterday,
[51:52] Speaker 1: but now with this new information that's come out, does
[51:54] Speaker 1: the Clippers cutting ties with CP3 say more about them
[51:57] Speaker 1: Or CP3. We know this team's 6-16 right now. Hot
[52:01] Speaker 1: bucket of ass. Had the Kawhi tree planting situation to
[52:03] Speaker 1: start the season. He must really say something about Ty Lue, boy.
[52:08] Speaker 1: Says a lot about Chris Paul. Yeah. Mr. B, you
[52:10] Speaker 1: think it says a lot about Chris Paul. Why do
[52:11] Speaker 1: you feel like it says a lot about Chris Paul?
[52:14] Speaker 1: Because this is your retirement. This is your last year.
[52:16] Speaker 3: So if you have an opportunity to go out a
[52:20] Speaker 3: way that a lot of people don't get to go
[52:21] Speaker 3: out and, you know, it's like, what type of shit
[52:25] Speaker 3: are you on? This is about you. So I don't
[52:28] Speaker 3: know what's being said, but obviously it didn't get to
[52:31] Speaker 3: a lot of people in the locker room.
[52:33] Speaker 1: I mean, you do have James Harden.
[52:35] Speaker 3: You do have Kawhi Leonard, top 75 players also, future
[52:39] Speaker 3: Hall of Famers too.
[52:40] Speaker 1: So I don't know.
[52:43] Speaker 3: I'm just trying to figure out this is your last
[52:44] Speaker 3: year and you're trying to go out on a high.
[52:47] Speaker 3: You know, they tried to label Westbrook as a bad guy.
[52:49] Speaker 3: He's about to go out better than Chris Paul.
[52:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe just ever so slightly with it.
[52:54] Speaker 3: But– Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out what is
[52:58] Speaker 3: the mindset of knowing that this is your last year
[53:01] Speaker 3: and they're about to run out the red carpet for
[53:03] Speaker 3: you and get your farewell and you fuck it off.
[53:07] Speaker 1: Kings 5-17 this year. Clippers are 6-16. One of the
[53:11] Speaker 1: oldest teams in the league. I believe the oldest team
[53:12] Speaker 1: in the league. They're 33.2 years old entering the season.
[53:16] Speaker 1: Had high expectations. We're expected to compete for the Western Conference,
[53:19] Speaker 1: potentially go to the finals. Obviously not the case. So
[53:23] Speaker 1: we talked about this yesterday, Sean, about the accountability standpoint.
[53:26] Speaker 1: CP3 is who he is. The Clippers seem to have
[53:28] Speaker 1: known that coming into this based on their previous experience
[53:31] Speaker 1: with him. Try to, again, manage those expectations. Look, it's
[53:34] Speaker 1: not going to be like San Antonio last year where
[53:35] Speaker 1: you started all 82 games. You're going to be playing
[53:38] Speaker 1: a limited role off the bench. But at the end
[53:40] Speaker 1: of the day, CP3 is CP3. So you can't ask
[53:42] Speaker 1: him to change who he is with this team, especially
[53:45] Speaker 1: with the struggles that they're having to start this season.
[53:48] Speaker 1: I'm going to pass it to Nick. You pass the phone? Yeah.
[53:52] Speaker 1: I'm going to pass the phone to it. We did
[53:54] Speaker 1: this already. We did this already. We did this dance already.
[53:59] Speaker 1: For me, CP3, he could. Well, everybody, it's not Kobe.
[54:07] Speaker 6: Everybody don't get a chance to go out like Kobe
[54:10] Speaker 6: and Jordan. I think everybody would like to have a
[54:14] Speaker 6: farewell tour like they did, even through losing. Kobe went
[54:19] Speaker 6: out there and represented himself on the high note. Last game,
[54:24] Speaker 6: 60 points. It's down to the last team in the league.
[54:27] Speaker 6: You didn't hear no complaints. He enjoyed his last times
[54:31] Speaker 6: on the court. And that's why I feel like when
[54:35] Speaker 6: you know you're going out, you say you're retiring, your
[54:39] Speaker 6: team is not going to win a championship anyway. So
[54:42] Speaker 6: you arguing every day in the locker room, talking about
[54:45] Speaker 6: this person, this person. trying to get the team going
[54:49] Speaker 6: every day. I'm supposed to sit back, say a little
[54:52] Speaker 6: two cents here and there, build.
[54:55] Speaker 1: Up the young guys a little bit, you know, help coach.
[54:58] Speaker 1: It's a team full of old niggas, though. Exactly. There's
[55:01] Speaker 1: a few young players on the team. Are they point guards?
[55:05] Speaker 1: There's a few young players on the team. Point guards, right?
[55:08] Speaker 1: Go talk to them. Don't talk to me. Do the
[55:10] Speaker 1: jersey swap every city. Jersey swap. Sign shoes. He had
[55:13] Speaker 1: some old CB3s. He had some Jordan shoes. Sign those.
[55:15] Speaker 6: Give them things away. Talk to the fans. But this
[55:32] Speaker 6: is the representation of both, really, the Clippers and the
[55:35] Speaker 6: Clippers organization on Deuce.
[55:38] Speaker 1: It's not the Lakers. Their players are not like our
[55:43] Speaker 1: Laker players. You play for both franchises. But I'm a Laker. Okay.
[55:47] Speaker 1: Just pointed that out. That's very telling.
[55:50] Speaker 6: It just shows the character of both organizations and the players.
[55:56] Speaker 1: I'll give you a question. Does the Clippers' cutting ties
[55:58] Speaker 1: with CP3 say more about them Or CP3. I'm going
[56:01] Speaker 1: to give it to Rashad. I'm handing this part. I'm
[56:06] Speaker 1: handing the full part.
[56:07] Speaker 4: Next subject. Go to the next one. Go to the
[56:13] Speaker 4: next topic. But I'll say, I know we went at
[56:16] Speaker 4: it yesterday, had a lengthy discussion about it.
[56:19] Speaker 1: There was varying opinions. But it's different. This team is 16-6.
[56:23] Speaker 1: I didn't give no opinion yesterday. I was telling the truth. Discussion.
[56:28] Speaker 2: The fact is, where is he at? That was a fact.
[56:32] Speaker 2: It was not my opinion.
[56:34] Speaker 1: But understanding that fact, Gil, did they come out with
[56:37] Speaker 1: more evidence? Both sides came out with evidence. What is
[56:41] Speaker 1: the evidence of both sides? It says what? Didn't work out.
[56:46] Speaker 1: They had a three-hour meeting. Okay, now read exactly what
[56:49] Speaker 1: they said. it's good to see Chris Paul did it
[56:53] Speaker 1: sound exactly.
[56:54] Speaker 2: What I was saying yesterday because.
[56:55] Speaker 6: I talked to both sides huh it's good to see
[56:58] Speaker 6: Chris Paul and Blake yeah I talked to both.
[57:00] Speaker 1: Sides so I knew what the problem was alright but
[57:03] Speaker 1: three hour meeting three hour meeting so it wasn't like
[57:05] Speaker 1: he just walked in like alright nigga you're out of
[57:07] Speaker 1: here damn they said they calling me shit was longer
[57:09] Speaker 1: than the Titanic I'm gonna say they want.
[57:11] Speaker 4: Me to say something they want me to say something
[57:14] Speaker 4: god damn it fuck cause I.
[57:15] Speaker 1: Fucked with your dad and we talked about obviously Paul's
[57:17] Speaker 1: diminished role year 21 but this is a future hall
[57:19] Speaker 1: of famer One of the greatest point guards in NBA history.
[57:22] Speaker 1: So even if he's not performing to the level that
[57:24] Speaker 1: he previously has, isn't somebody you might want to listen to?
[57:29] Speaker 1: He's impacted winning in a positive way in every stop
[57:31] Speaker 1: he's made throughout his career. So has Kawhi Leonard. So
[57:35] Speaker 1: has James Harden. But I'm just saying, James Harden has
[57:40] Speaker 1: made the playoffs every season. Kawhi's Clipper tenure has been
[57:43] Speaker 1: a little bit... You're missing why....
[57:49] Speaker 2: The problem is the problem. There's new owners on this team.
[57:56] Speaker 2: There's new players. There's new stars. There's new franchise guys, right?
[58:03] Speaker 2: That is Kawhi. That is James. Those guys are the
[58:08] Speaker 2: leaders of this team.
[58:12] Speaker 1: You're coming into this new situation.
[58:16] Speaker 2: And you're coming in here trying to change the atmosphere,
[58:22] Speaker 2: change the rules, whatever.
[58:25] Speaker 1: Cool. But they're not accepting it.
[58:31] Speaker 2: So however you're trying to deliver this to them, they
[58:35] Speaker 2: don't want to hear it. So at some point, if
[58:39] Speaker 2: you don't stand down, those guys are not going to
[58:44] Speaker 2: want you in the hen house.
[58:46] Speaker 1: No matter what your intentions are. Because one thing you can't.
[58:50] Speaker 2: Do anymore is lead by example. Now, if you're going
[58:55] Speaker 2: out there picking up full court, busting your ass, doing
[58:57] Speaker 2: all this, then we are forced to listen because you
[59:01] Speaker 2: are the man. See, when the top star has that
[59:06] Speaker 2: bad attitude, it's because he's going out there front line.
[59:13] Speaker 1: Of the battle.
[59:15] Speaker 2: He is there doing, taking the hits, going against the stars.
[59:19] Speaker 2: He's in the middle of the battle with you. Nobody
[59:22] Speaker 2: wants to hear an old vet that's sitting from the
[59:27] Speaker 2: booth telling you what.
[59:30] Speaker 1: And not what to do in the manner that a
[59:34] Speaker 1: superstar usually talks.
[59:36] Speaker 2: Now, for Chris Paul, I can get it because, one,
[59:42] Speaker 2: those guys you played with last year don't have a
[59:45] Speaker 2: problem with that because they're all young.
[59:47] Speaker 1: They're all trying to find their way.
[59:49] Speaker 2: So you get to be you, direct, orchestrate, Put people,
[59:56] Speaker 2: this is how it's done. Those guys don't have nothing.
[59:59] Speaker 2: They're trying to establish themselves. So your Chris Paul, what
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: you do, they're going to accept it because they don't
[1:00:06] Speaker 2: know any other way. Now you're going to people, one
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: you played with before, he wasn't playing that shit then.
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: Right? He wasn't listening to you then. It was then.
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: Now you're less contributor than you was before with the
[1:00:21] Speaker 2: same tone. It just didn't go, it didn't play well.
[1:00:26] Speaker 2: And then, obviously, you want to play. You played all
[1:00:28] Speaker 2: 82 last year. And I don't even think he wanted
[1:00:31] Speaker 2: to retire this year. I think the retirement came because
[1:00:37] Speaker 2: the writing was on the wall and he was trying
[1:00:39] Speaker 2: to savor some more time. Because I think– because it's
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: him who said this is my last in the middle.
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: He didn't say this at the beginning when he got here.
[1:00:46] Speaker 2: There was a general thought, though, that this was going
[1:00:48] Speaker 2: to be his last season.
[1:00:49] Speaker 1: Thoughts. There was no verbiage on it. Now, if he
[1:00:50] Speaker 1: came out here averaging, you know, what he did last
[1:00:52] Speaker 1: season with the Spurs, potentially maybe we gave him one
[1:00:54] Speaker 1: more go.
[1:00:55] Speaker 2: He played 82 games last year. Started all 82. He
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: was not planning on retiring this year.
[1:01:00] Speaker 1: Right? So, I think– I'm sorry.
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: I don't think I heard from a source that the
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: retirement came because they was on a fritz in– He
[1:01:12] Speaker 2: felt that he was going to be let go. And
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: he wanted to let the world know this is his
[1:01:16] Speaker 2: last year. And then now they're put on the burner
[1:01:20] Speaker 2: and get rid of him.
[1:01:22] Speaker 1: Well, as they proved that this is the.
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: And that's why I kept asking yesterday. How bad do
[1:01:30] Speaker 2: you think it had to be if they brunk him
[1:01:35] Speaker 2: in here to finish his career here He is a
[1:01:40] Speaker 2: great here.
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: He is a Hall of Famer. He is the top
[1:01:42] Speaker 1: five to say, fuck it. We got to let him go.
[1:01:46] Speaker 1: It had to be worse than what we can imagine then.
[1:01:49] Speaker 1: Lawrence Frank coming to Atlanta on the road. I think
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: CP3 was supposed to go to the Wake Forest game
[1:01:54] Speaker 1: that Tuesday, meet the team, Wednesday in Atlanta. Lawrence Frank
[1:01:57] Speaker 1: basically said, no, bring your ass to Atlanta. We're going
[1:01:58] Speaker 1: to have this meeting. Can you imagine that trip? Atlanta,
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: then Miami, right after that? So Miami to Atlanta. Wait, wait, wait.
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: They played the Heat. They were in Miami. They were
[1:02:07] Speaker 1: flying to Atlanta the next day. CB3 was going to
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: go to the Wake Forest game. So he stopped them
[1:02:11] Speaker 1: from going to Wake Forest. He came to town. So
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: he came to Atlanta. Clippers playing got held up in
[1:02:16] Speaker 1: Miami with mechanical issues. Got to Atlanta late. They had
[1:02:20] Speaker 1: that meeting at 11 p.m. local time. Not even in
[1:02:22] Speaker 1: the morning. Like, let's get to it. Three-hour meeting, I think,
[1:02:25] Speaker 1: for me. When they land, ready at the door. Come
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: on up in here. Basically, that's the way it was
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: explained in the report. Then they have that three-hour meeting.
[1:02:33] Speaker 2: You know, I don't blame either one. Like, as a Hooper,
[1:02:39] Speaker 2: as a Hooper, and you want your legacy to finish
[1:02:44] Speaker 2: how it started. I don't like it for Chris Paul
[1:02:48] Speaker 2: because this is not the way your legacy should be written.
[1:02:53] Speaker 2: This is not supposed to be the end of your career, right?
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: It was supposed to be written better than this.
[1:03:00] Speaker 1: Right? There was supposed to be a great ending. For
[1:03:02] Speaker 1: a great start and a great ending. It was set up. Right?
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: And the fact that it ends this way, not on
[1:03:11] Speaker 2: your terms, I just wish that, like, stand down.
[1:03:19] Speaker 1: Like, another vet should have been in there and like, hey, man,
[1:03:24] Speaker 1: just relax, man. Let's just. hold off for a minute
[1:03:28] Speaker 1: because they do this. What if he cared? This is
[1:03:31] Speaker 1: a franchise. He led the six straight playoffs. How long
[1:03:32] Speaker 1: do you check out? When do you check out of
[1:03:34] Speaker 1: a team? March. When do players check out? On a coach?
[1:03:41] Speaker 1: Or teammates? After All-Star break? You know, sometime before that.
[1:03:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, something like, I'm tired of hearing your mouth.
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: That's in the middle towards the end of the season,
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: not the beginning.
[1:03:55] Speaker 3: But we've all been in NBA locker rooms and we've
[1:03:57] Speaker 3: had teammates like that. I don't even know why we
[1:03:59] Speaker 3: sit on this couch acting.
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: Like we don't know that. It's always a teammate that
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: we get tired of talking. And you just be like, man,
[1:04:05] Speaker 1: he just got to go, bro. He come in the room,
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: you just like, yo, get the fuck out. Everybody be
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: in there laughing. And then here he comes and you're like, oh,
[1:04:13] Speaker 1: here comes him. Here comes his energy. Self-familiar. We all out.
[1:04:18] Speaker 1: We all out. It's not like me. We've all had
[1:04:20] Speaker 1: teammates like that. 78% have a nigga, man. Here go
[1:04:23] Speaker 1: this nigga again. We always welcome your presence. Fuck, man. Shit.
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: Come bearing gifts. Fuck, you gotta go, man. Always. Shit, man. Always.
[1:04:34] Speaker 1: Tired of this shit. A trusted member of the Gills
[1:04:37] Speaker 1: Arena presented by Underdog. Whoop, whoop. Nigga. Whoop. Crew. Gotta
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: do something about this nigga, man. Fuck. And they're not
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: even trying to get into all this stuff from yesterday,
[1:04:44] Speaker 1: but I see both sides of it. Team is ass
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: right now. You got a future Hall of Famer. Led
[1:04:48] Speaker 1: this team to six straight playoffs. I'm trying to talk
[1:04:52] Speaker 1: to you, Ty Lue. And you're not fucking with me?
[1:04:54] Speaker 1: You're not going to meet with me? You're Ty Lue.
[1:04:56] Speaker 1: You got stepped over by AI. What I'm saying is
[1:04:58] Speaker 1: you keep saying the record now.
[1:05:02] Speaker 2: Now is they're done with it now, which means this
[1:05:05] Speaker 2: started day one. You're saying the record now like he's
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: complaining today and then all of a sudden three games.
[1:05:13] Speaker 1: Oh, no, we can't take you. No, that means.
[1:05:16] Speaker 2: It's 20 games. That means game one. When he didn't
[1:05:20] Speaker 2: play that many, he probably started a training camp looking
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: at he wasn't in the road.
[1:05:24] Speaker 1: So then why bring him in? If you know who
[1:05:26] Speaker 1: CP3 is, why bring him in anyway? They got into
[1:05:29] Speaker 1: it before that. Who? Yeah, of course. Training camp.
[1:05:31] Speaker 7: They said training camp. Because we want to give you
[1:05:33] Speaker 7: a nice ending. We want to give you a set up.
[1:05:35] Speaker 7: It's set up for you.
[1:05:36] Speaker 1: We want to make sure you go out the right way.
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: Paul Pierce? Yes, sir.
[1:05:45] Speaker 13: There were two other point guards that played for the Clippers.
[1:05:49] Speaker 13: One name was John Wall. One name was Russell Westbrook.
[1:05:54] Speaker 13: I think their fates were similar. I think they shared
[1:06:01] Speaker 13: similar fates. Where I think Russell Westbrook actually is like,
[1:06:04] Speaker 13: do I need to wear my top 75 jacket in
[1:06:07] Speaker 13: here to remind this nigga that I'm not supposed to
[1:06:11] Speaker 13: be playing behind? Okay, I Just amnesia sometimes we forget.
[1:06:17] Speaker 1: And Ty Lue said Westwood was the leader. It was
[1:06:19] Speaker 1: the first time they really had a leader in their
[1:06:20] Speaker 1: locker room. We keep acting like Ty Lue. He was
[1:06:23] Speaker 1: talking to the team and they were responding. You said
[1:06:27] Speaker 1: they were responding? Maybe they're not. Maybe not. I don't know.
[1:06:33] Speaker 4: It was the first time we had a real leader
[1:06:36] Speaker 4: in the team. Russell Westbrook being the leader of the team.
[1:06:38] Speaker 4: I remember having a vivid conversation about that. And then,
[1:06:42] Speaker 4: you know, John.
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: Wall was there and Boogie Cousins was there.
[1:06:45] Speaker 4: And I think Boogie Cousins actually said something from his
[1:06:47] Speaker 4: own testimony of being a guy that went through some
[1:06:53] Speaker 4: team who didn't want to talk to me and felt
[1:06:55] Speaker 4: like some bullshit. He did the same thing with John Wall,
[1:06:58] Speaker 4: and it felt like some bullshit. He did the same
[1:07:00] Speaker 4: shit with Russ. It felt like some bullshit. He's seeing
[1:07:03] Speaker 4: it with CP, and he's like, this feels like some bullshit.
[1:07:05] Speaker 1: I thought he said something about Russ, though. No, he
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: said Russ was his leader, yeah. The first time we
[1:07:10] Speaker 1: had a leader in this. They also walked into an
[1:07:12] Speaker 1: NBA championship coach, too. Ain't the man part of the
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: banana boat, too, though? Like, don't he hang out with
[1:07:19] Speaker 1: LeBron and him? Like, they all close friends, so for
[1:07:22] Speaker 1: you not to hang out.
[1:07:23] Speaker 6: Want to even talk to somebody like how far what what.
[1:07:27] Speaker 3: Happened exactly what happened exactly you know what happened you
[1:07:29] Speaker 3: can't put it on.
[1:07:30] Speaker 2: And i mean that means it makes it worse you
[1:07:32] Speaker 2: already see examples of guys who's coming in here talking.
[1:07:38] Speaker 4: Crazy if we six and five sixteen and five is
[1:07:41] Speaker 4: cp getting shipped.
[1:07:42] Speaker 1: Off yeah the hardest no because we're winning and he
[1:07:45] Speaker 1: ain't saying shit he's He said it in training camp.
[1:07:49] Speaker 4: We not saying shit. If we're 16-5, we winning. Everything
[1:07:52] Speaker 4: is smooth sailing because we supposed to be winning.
[1:07:54] Speaker 1: What is the record in training camp? Zero and zero.
[1:07:58] Speaker 1: Did he get sent home in training camp? No. They
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: were done now. So say no. Now. What's their record now?
[1:08:05] Speaker 1: Six and six. Okay.
[1:08:06] Speaker 2: The record now is losing. They said a couple weeks.
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: They didn't give a specific time. They don't know how
[1:08:11] Speaker 2: many weeks. So let's go back to the record a
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: couple weeks.
[1:08:14] Speaker 1: It was still asking. Don't do that. Why did they
[1:08:18] Speaker 1: do that? They DMP'd him in four or eight games.
[1:08:23] Speaker 1: Five straight DMPs if I'm not mistaken. Yes.
[1:08:25] Speaker 2: They DMP'd him back then. They didn't want him. They
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: didn't want him to play then. This was a thing.
[1:08:31] Speaker 1: I personally Talk to two people. That's in the locker room?
[1:08:36] Speaker 1: That's in the locker room. All right, so there it is.
[1:08:38] Speaker 4: I talk to the standings. I talk to the record.
[1:08:42] Speaker 4: I talk to the comments.
[1:08:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, he's talking to the comments. Yeah, he don't talk
[1:08:47] Speaker 1: to the people that's in the locker room.
[1:08:48] Speaker 14: I'm talking to the locker room. What's going on? I
[1:08:51] Speaker 14: heard what I heard. And I take from what's being released.
[1:08:56] Speaker 14: And I say, okay, listen, this is what it looks
[1:08:59] Speaker 14: like for me.
[1:09:00] Speaker 1: That's what we're here to give our perspectives. Perspective.
[1:09:05] Speaker 2: I give what's coming out of the locker room. What
[1:09:08] Speaker 2: was going on in a locker room. That's where I
[1:09:11] Speaker 2: was coming from. And then they came out publicly. And
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: there you go. In their own words.
[1:09:19] Speaker 1: Who, the locker room's words?
[1:09:21] Speaker 2: Lawrence Frank Ty Lue. The city? What did it sound?
[1:09:24] Speaker 2: Did it sound like exactly.
[1:09:25] Speaker 1: What I was saying? Ty Lue?
[1:09:26] Speaker 4: So it was a Ty Lue thing. We heard what
[1:09:28] Speaker 4: Ty Lue said with Lawrence Frank. Ty Lue said he
[1:09:30] Speaker 4: didn't know nothing about it. It was an organizational decision
[1:09:32] Speaker 4: they were asking. You want to play it back? You
[1:09:34] Speaker 4: want to play it back? You want to play it back?
[1:09:37] Speaker 1: Don't laugh, Joe. This is not a laughing matter. Just
[1:09:41] Speaker 1: play it back. He said he don't know what's going on.
[1:09:44] Speaker 11: Oh, don't have a side. You know, I don't I
[1:09:47] Speaker 11: don't like it, you know It didn't work out like
[1:09:50] Speaker 11: we thought it would.
[1:09:51] Speaker 10: I don't like it for CP.
[1:09:54] Speaker 1: It didn't work out like it's supposed to, right? Like
[1:09:57] Speaker 1: we thought it would. Okay, keep going. Where is the
[1:10:00] Speaker 1: locker room at?
[1:10:01] Speaker 10: It just wasn't a good fit, you know.
[1:10:04] Speaker 2: It just wasn't a good fit. What wasn't a good fit?
[1:10:07] Speaker 2: him being around, it wasn't a good fit. Like him
[1:10:11] Speaker 2: in the offense.
[1:10:14] Speaker 1: Let's go again. Why are we acting like we ain't
[1:10:17] Speaker 1: never been around? Let's go. Let's stop.
[1:10:19] Speaker 11: Like I said, it was an organization. They made the choice.
[1:10:25] Speaker 11: And so moving forward, you know, we got to see
[1:10:28] Speaker 11: what we do. So, you know, we'll see.
[1:10:31] Speaker 1: All right, you need to pause right there. Pause, please, pause, please.
[1:10:34] Speaker 1: It was the organization. Ain't you in the organization? No,
[1:10:37] Speaker 1: not me. Not me. I'm not in the locker room.
[1:10:42] Speaker 1: I'm not one of the sources in the locker room.
[1:10:44] Speaker 1: All right, but continue. Please, for me.
[1:10:48] Speaker 12: Back to Chris for a second. You said it was
[1:10:51] Speaker 12: an organizational decision. Were you part of that decision? Do
[1:10:54] Speaker 12: you agree with the decision? And do you think this
[1:10:57] Speaker 12: will help your.
[1:10:58] Speaker 1: Team moving forward?
[1:11:00] Speaker 10: I don't think it necessarily helped our team.
[1:11:01] Speaker 11: I mean, I don't think the reason why we're 5-16
[1:11:05] Speaker 11: because of CP's, you know, play. I just think that
[1:11:08] Speaker 11: it wasn't a good fit for what he was looking for. And,
[1:11:11] Speaker 11: you know, it is what it is. And so do
[1:11:14] Speaker 11: I want to see CP go out like this?
[1:11:16] Speaker 2: No.
[1:11:16] Speaker 10: I have a lot of respect for him.
[1:11:17] Speaker 11: He's been a friend of mine over the years. And
[1:11:20] Speaker 11: you never want to see a great go out, you know,
[1:11:22] Speaker 11: like this.
[1:11:23] Speaker 1: So he didn't actually acknowledge that part of the question.
[1:11:26] Speaker 1: So you hear like, we, we. When he was expecting,
[1:11:32] Speaker 1: we didn't have nothing to give. But the problem is,
[1:11:37] Speaker 1: does this make sense, right?
[1:11:42] Speaker 2: They acknowledging who he is and they didn't want to
[1:11:44] Speaker 2: see him go.
[1:11:45] Speaker 1: Out like this. So that means he went in there also.
[1:11:48] Speaker 1: So that means it was worse than what you think.
[1:11:51] Speaker 1: Or we ain't heard shit from CP. We don't know
[1:11:54] Speaker 1: how bad it was. I heard of people who's... We
[1:11:57] Speaker 1: didn't hear from CP. I don't need to... CP. God. Yeah,
[1:12:02] Speaker 1: we do. Yeah, we do. You may not. You may not. Listen,
[1:12:06] Speaker 1: at the end of the day, whatever you come out with,
[1:12:08] Speaker 1: it don't matter. There's two sides to every story. There's...
[1:12:11] Speaker 1: There's two sides.
[1:12:12] Speaker 4: Why are you not talking to me, Tyloo? Tyloo, you
[1:12:16] Speaker 4: tell them why you're not talking to me, and I'll
[1:12:18] Speaker 4: tell them why I think you're not talking to me.
[1:12:19] Speaker 2: Okay, so we have the people who's being talked to,
[1:12:23] Speaker 2: then we have the talker.
[1:12:25] Speaker 1: So we want to hear from the talker.
[1:12:27] Speaker 2: I want to ask the people who got to listen
[1:12:30] Speaker 2: to it, how did y'all feel?
[1:12:31] Speaker 1: Of course you did. How did y'all feel? I want
[1:12:33] Speaker 1: to talk to the people he talking to. Was he
[1:12:35] Speaker 1: talking gentle to you niggas or not? Was he not
[1:12:37] Speaker 1: talking gentle? So what was CP saying, man? I don't
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: want to listen to what Ike had to say. Hey, Tina,
[1:12:40] Speaker 1: how did those kids feel? I want to listen to
[1:12:42] Speaker 1: what Tina got to say. I don't need to listen
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: to Ike. That's crazy.
[1:12:57] Speaker 15: Anybody eat the cake. I'm pretty sure they eat the cake.
[1:13:04] Speaker 1: He said eat the cake. What, you're full? What, you're hungry?
[1:13:08] Speaker 1: I just finished eating. I wasn't hungry no more. What
[1:13:11] Speaker 1: kind of cake was it? Woo. Hey. I'm just saying.
[1:13:18] Speaker 1: Don't even ask. Don't do it again. You don't want
[1:13:21] Speaker 1: to do that. Yeah, but we all deal with people
[1:13:23] Speaker 1: like that, though. Were they future Hall of Famers? Were
[1:13:27] Speaker 1: they a part of successful commercial campaigns with State Farm?
[1:13:30] Speaker 1: The fictitious twin brother named Blake. That's it again? Were
[1:13:35] Speaker 1: they who? Future Hall of Famers? This made me think
[1:13:38] Speaker 1: of something else. What do you think?
[1:13:40] Speaker 6: Like OKC should bring Russ back just for like a
[1:13:43] Speaker 6: farewell tour?
[1:13:45] Speaker 1: No? Not to play and mess up the... But like
[1:13:48] Speaker 1: just to... Now you're asking the same question. I'm bringing
[1:13:52] Speaker 1: you back. And they can possibly win a championship. But
[1:13:55] Speaker 1: what I'm saying is I'm bringing you back thinking you're
[1:13:57] Speaker 1: going to just ride with it. Just chill out. Sometimes
[1:14:00] Speaker 1: you're trying to play. Come back like Allen Iverson. It's
[1:14:04] Speaker 1: no different.
[1:14:04] Speaker 2: Why do you think Allen Iverson averaged 14 his last year?
[1:14:08] Speaker 2: He still had more. But he wasn't coming off nobody's bench.
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: So everybody's looking.
[1:14:13] Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah.
[1:14:14] Speaker 2: Well, Westbrook, I think, is somebody who's going to come
[1:14:17] Speaker 2: off the bench. No, but what I'm saying is, some
[1:14:20] Speaker 2: people can't turn off the engine.
[1:14:23] Speaker 1: Yeah. Some people just can't sit there. Yeah. They want
[1:14:27] Speaker 1: me to come off the bench, Paul. No, no, no.
[1:14:29] Speaker 1: Go ahead. Like how Paul Pierce is? No, that's real.
[1:14:33] Speaker 1: Most greats, they can't do that. Right?
[1:14:38] Speaker 2: So that does affect the locker room if this great
[1:14:42] Speaker 2: still believes that he's there and he's going to talk
[1:14:47] Speaker 2: to people like he's there. And it just doesn't, it clashes.
[1:14:53] Speaker 2: And it's just a clash. And that's just how it is.
[1:14:56] Speaker 2: Like for you to have that stance, you have to
[1:14:59] Speaker 2: be original. The originator there. You can't come to teams
[1:15:03] Speaker 2: doing that. If you there and those players is coming
[1:15:05] Speaker 2: to you, then you're making the rules. Like Haslam, when
[1:15:08] Speaker 2: Jimmy came there, Haslam is, I've.
[1:15:10] Speaker 1: Been here the whole time, so you are going to
[1:15:13] Speaker 1: listen to me. Right, right, right, right. That's easier.
[1:15:15] Speaker 2: Now, if Haslam came from where he came and then
[1:15:18] Speaker 2: tried to do that to Jimmy, that's not happening.
[1:15:20] Speaker 1: If he came back, he went somewhere else and then
[1:15:22] Speaker 1: came back. Yeah, that's not happening. I am heat culture.
[1:15:24] Speaker 1: I get it. All right, well, let's keep this thing moving.

[1:17:26] Speaker 1: Arena presented by Underdog. Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop. Go debate
[1:17:30] Speaker 1: one of the most polarizing in basketball with fans of
[1:17:33] Speaker 1: their favorite players reluctant to shift that stance. So we
[1:17:35] Speaker 1: made some progress recently here on Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. Whoop, whoop.
[1:17:38] Speaker 1: Was Swaggy switching his allegiance and admitting LeBron is the
[1:17:41] Speaker 1: GOAT swagger we have to take? You can't take it back.
[1:17:44] Speaker 1: You said LeBron is my GOAT and savior? During a
[1:17:47] Speaker 1: recent episode of his timeout show on the Y Network,
[1:17:50] Speaker 1: Dwayne Wade offered his perspective on who he considers the GOAT.
[1:17:54] Speaker 16: LeBron Jordan debate. Well, I just... How I'm going to
[1:17:57] Speaker 16: start defining it.
[1:17:59] Speaker 1: Okay. Don't speak about it all. Michael Jordan is my
[1:18:01] Speaker 1: basketball GOAT. Right. Mine personally. Right. For all the reasons
[1:18:04] Speaker 1: that he should be. But I... I do have a
[1:18:07] Speaker 1: new answer of the way I'm going to start answering
[1:18:09] Speaker 1: the question. When people ask me.
[1:18:11] Speaker 16: I'm going to say Michael Jordan is the greatest player
[1:18:14] Speaker 16: I've ever watched. He is the greatest player I've ever watched.
[1:18:19] Speaker 1: Okay. LeBron James is the greatest player I've ever seen. Ooh.
[1:18:25] Speaker 1: I thought, bro, I saw what you just did right there.
[1:18:27] Speaker 1: You feeling me? I felt that. I never saw Michael Jordan.
[1:18:31] Speaker 1: Watched Michael Jordan. Yeah. Saw and I've seen LeBron James
[1:18:35] Speaker 1: up close. Up close. I played against and I played with.
[1:18:38] Speaker 16: I've never seen, I personally, I've not seen a greater
[1:18:43] Speaker 16: basketball player.
[1:18:44] Speaker 1: But I've watched a great basketball player. That makes sense.
[1:18:50] Speaker 1: I mean, it makes perfect sense. So understand D-Wade saying
[1:18:54] Speaker 1: Jordan is the greatest player he's watched, but LeBron is
[1:18:56] Speaker 1: the greatest player he's seen. Start with you, Mr. B.
[1:18:59] Speaker 1: You said it makes sense. Yeah, it makes sense.
[1:19:01] Speaker 3: I mean, because he's watching somebody on TV. He's with
[1:19:04] Speaker 3: LeBron James every day. Like in practice, winning championships, like
[1:19:08] Speaker 3: he's going through the battle with this guy. So I
[1:19:11] Speaker 3: definitely understand what he's saying. I mean, that's how I
[1:19:13] Speaker 3: feel when they talk about Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
[1:19:16] Speaker 3: Like I watched, but I got to see Kobe Bryant.
[1:19:18] Speaker 3: Like I got to play against Kobe Bryant. I got
[1:19:20] Speaker 3: to be on that same court. So it's just a
[1:19:22] Speaker 3: different feeling of it all. That's why it's so, when
[1:19:25] Speaker 3: you talk about who's the best or who's the greatest
[1:19:26] Speaker 3: and this and that, it's, you know, it's all about
[1:19:28] Speaker 3: feeling to me. It's all about what I can see
[1:19:30] Speaker 3: and what I can really feel.
[1:19:31] Speaker 1: Let's shift over to Shasha. I see you. Birmingham Barons jersey.
[1:19:39] Speaker 1: None other than the Michael Jordan. Struggled with the breaking ball,
[1:19:42] Speaker 1: but was able to still do some work during his
[1:19:44] Speaker 1: time in the minor leagues. He could catch the ball
[1:19:46] Speaker 1: in the field, though. He could do what he could do. Field, nigga.
[1:19:48] Speaker 1: He was on the breaking ball machine. He was a
[1:19:52] Speaker 1: reliable fielder. But you understand what D-Wade is saying? No. No.
[1:20:00] Speaker 4: What the fuck is D-Wade talking about? Should have had
[1:20:05] Speaker 4: Stevie Wonder up there talking about, man, I can see it,
[1:20:09] Speaker 4: but I can watch it too. I don't know what
[1:20:12] Speaker 4: the fuck I'm talking about. See it, believe it, watch it, talk, man,
[1:20:17] Speaker 4: the fuck you talking about, my nigga? Just say who
[1:20:19] Speaker 4: you think is the best, bro. Your best friend or
[1:20:21] Speaker 4: a nigga you watched when you was in Chicago? Don't
[1:20:27] Speaker 4: matter to me, man. It's your opinion, cool, great. I
[1:20:31] Speaker 4: don't got nothing else to say about this.
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: Shit, man. Let's shift over to Swaggy.
[1:20:36] Speaker 6: Um, you know, well, I got to hang out with D-Wade.
[1:20:43] Speaker 6: His kids and my kids kind of play together, so D-Wade,
[1:20:47] Speaker 6: whatever he's saying, was legit.
[1:20:50] Speaker 1: It was really good. Kids have a play date.
[1:20:53] Speaker 6: Yeah, he's seen, not the youngest one, it's the young.
[1:20:59] Speaker 2: One.
[1:21:00] Speaker 1: Well, he's seen.
[1:21:00] Speaker 6: Are your daughters playing together? No, the youngest one. The daughter?
[1:21:05] Speaker 1: No. Stop. Let's just leave it alone. We're not going there. Okay.
[1:21:10] Speaker 1: It's the youngest. Carry on. Carry on. You got it.
[1:21:17] Speaker 6: I get what he's saying because it's just like the work.
[1:21:21] Speaker 6: When I watched her on TV rapping and shit, but
[1:21:26] Speaker 6: when I seen her, it was different.
[1:21:29] Speaker 1: So I get it. When I seen it, it's how
[1:21:32] Speaker 1: it was. The same work that you watched? Yeah.
[1:21:35] Speaker 6: But then you saw, okay. Then you see it up close,
[1:21:38] Speaker 6: you know. Sometimes everything, I'm confused myself. So yeah, just
[1:21:43] Speaker 6: go ahead.
[1:21:46] Speaker 1: Sometimes you can be.
[1:21:48] Speaker 3: Yo, so what do you think about when you play
[1:21:51] Speaker 3: with Kobe?
[1:21:52] Speaker 1: Kobe's the best player in this game. To me. But
[1:21:56] Speaker 1: was Michael better? Before that? Before you played with Kobe? No,
[1:22:00] Speaker 1: Kobe's always been my GOAT since I was.
[1:22:03] Speaker 6: I always hated the fact that nobody could be better
[1:22:07] Speaker 6: than Michael Jordan. Every time I say that, somebody thinks
[1:22:12] Speaker 6: I'm crazy.
[1:22:14] Speaker 1: But just watching LeBron.
[1:22:18] Speaker 17: And what he does, it's hard not to put him
[1:22:23] Speaker 17: as the GOAT because he's doing shit that still doing
[1:22:28] Speaker 17: shit that none of our players, my favorite players have done.
[1:22:32] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[1:22:35] Speaker 6: At some point, you just got to give it to
[1:22:38] Speaker 6: the man and put feelings.
[1:22:40] Speaker 1: To the side. Very astute assessment, Swaggy. It's a good play. No,
[1:22:48] Speaker 1: I'm just kidding.
[1:22:50] Speaker 2: Do I understand what he was saying? Yes, I understand
[1:22:53] Speaker 2: what he was saying. It's called being safe. It's a
[1:22:57] Speaker 2: safe answer now. Because he's saying, one, his goat is
[1:23:05] Speaker 2: Michael Jordan, just like most of everybody who was born
[1:23:10] Speaker 2: in the 80s and 90s is Michael Jordan. Because we've
[1:23:13] Speaker 2: seen Michael Jordan. We've watched him on TV. We've watched him.
[1:23:22] Speaker 2: None of us can physically say we played with him.
[1:23:26] Speaker 2: So he's saying that as a fan, this is my goat.
[1:23:33] Speaker 2: Michael Jordan from a kid living in Chicago, he's number one.
[1:23:39] Speaker 2: As a basketball player playing in the NBA, competing.
[1:23:45] Speaker 1: With someone, he is my competition goat.
[1:23:50] Speaker 2: As a NBA player who I played with, seen with
[1:23:54] Speaker 2: my own eyes, practiced with, he's my GOAT. So he's
[1:23:57] Speaker 2: basically saying, I don't want to compare the two because
[1:24:02] Speaker 2: it's not fair. So instead of having either side go
[1:24:05] Speaker 2: at me, I'm just going to be safe and say
[1:24:09] Speaker 2: they're both my GOAT. One I watched on TV, one
[1:24:13] Speaker 2: I played against and with and had to compete with
[1:24:15] Speaker 2: and win gold medal with, like lose championships with. It's...
[1:24:21] Speaker 2: Like most people who, if Michael Jordan is your GOAT,
[1:24:25] Speaker 2: none of us can really say we played with him.
[1:24:27] Speaker 2: You did play against him. I played against him, but,
[1:24:29] Speaker 2: you know what I mean, that's not the Michael Jordan
[1:24:31] Speaker 2: that feared everybody.
[1:24:32] Speaker 1: How did you feel, though, going against a player you'd
[1:24:35] Speaker 1: seen play so great? Whooping the GOAT's ass. How did
[1:24:37] Speaker 1: you feel about that? Whooping the GOAT's ass. I'm the GOAT.
[1:24:41] Speaker 1: I got the best of the good. I'm the good. Obviously,
[1:24:43] Speaker 1: you know, we're going to, you know what I mean?
[1:24:45] Speaker 2: So only people who can make that real claim is
[1:24:50] Speaker 2: basically somebody like Kevin Garnett, Shaquille O'Neal, right? You know,
[1:24:55] Speaker 2: they played with, you know, all of them who are considered, right?
[1:24:58] Speaker 2: So I got to listen to people who went into
[1:25:01] Speaker 2: that lion's den.
[1:25:03] Speaker 1: They wrestled with these three tigers. Right?
[1:25:06] Speaker 2: You know, that's the only way you get real answers.
[1:25:09] Speaker 2: For the most of us, we watched one, we played
[1:25:12] Speaker 2: with the other, or played against the other. So, I mean,
[1:25:14] Speaker 2: I like his answer because it's safer. You don't have
[1:25:19] Speaker 2: to pick a side. You don't have to go 1A, 1B. Like,
[1:25:22] Speaker 2: one is watched on TV. These are my go-to.
[1:25:26] Speaker 1: I watched. These are my go-to I played with. But
[1:25:30] Speaker 1: that's how it is.
[1:25:32] Speaker 3: But I feel like that's how it is with everybody
[1:25:34] Speaker 3: from the older generation, too. Like, you know, like it's just,
[1:25:37] Speaker 3: I've seen this, but I don't know.
[1:25:40] Speaker 1: It's all opinion. You giving D-Wade a phone call? No.
[1:25:47] Speaker 1: All right. He answered it safe. It was safe. Nah,
[1:25:49] Speaker 1: what you mean? He's from Chicago.
[1:25:52] Speaker 2: I mean, how many, I don't know how many basketball
[1:25:55] Speaker 2: players that grew up in Chicago don't have Michael Jordan.
[1:25:58] Speaker 1: As their coach. All right, remember. Second is goddamn D-Rose. No,
[1:26:02] Speaker 1: remember this.
[1:26:03] Speaker 12: Yeah.
[1:26:03] Speaker 1: Remember this. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:26:05] Speaker 6: Remember this, because last time I said some shit, you
[1:26:08] Speaker 6: called me cussing me the fuck out about Steph Curry
[1:26:11] Speaker 6: when they said you and Steph Curry.
[1:26:13] Speaker 1: Remember that? Yeah, I was offended. Yeah. So it was safe. But, motherfucker,
[1:26:18] Speaker 1: remember that. I had to be safe. Remember that.
[1:26:21] Speaker 6: Because I got to go back there.
[1:26:24] Speaker 1: No, no. You didn't say. You didn't put us in two.
[1:26:28] Speaker 1: He gave him his number one and his number one.
[1:26:30] Speaker 1: That was as he opened up a category.
[1:26:33] Speaker 2: You could have said Seth is the best overall.
[1:26:36] Speaker 1: You know I'll bust that nigga. That's how you feel.
[1:26:40] Speaker 1: That's how you feel. That's how you feel for real.
[1:26:42] Speaker 1: But as I said, this would have been what D-Wade did.
[1:26:45] Speaker 1: Steph is the number one. Okay. Career. Yeah, that's what
[1:26:51] Speaker 1: it is. By 25, Gilbert's number one. You see what
[1:26:54] Speaker 1: I mean? I still get my number one. That's what
[1:26:56] Speaker 1: I said. He opened up. He opened up. You know
[1:27:00] Speaker 1: what I mean? This is my favorite girlfriend. This is
[1:27:04] Speaker 1: my favorite wife. See? Got to be smart. Got to
[1:27:09] Speaker 1: be smart. Yeah.
[1:27:11] Speaker 2: Am I the number one?
[1:27:14] Speaker 1: Yeah. My number one wife. Only had one. I enjoy
[1:27:20] Speaker 1: how it always comes back to the work here. It
[1:27:22] Speaker 1: was a reinterpretation of my underdog. But let's keep this
[1:27:25] Speaker 1: thing moving. Lakers are back in action tonight in Toronto
[1:27:27] Speaker 1: to take on the Raptors. But we got to talk
[1:27:29] Speaker 1: about a situation that went down during their loss of
[1:27:31] Speaker 1: the Suns Monday. LeBron was in danger with snapping his
[1:27:34] Speaker 1: double-digit scoring streak during the Lakers' loss to the Suns,
[1:27:37] Speaker 1: but overcame the odds to keep the streak alive. Let's
[1:27:39] Speaker 1: take a look, if we can, very quickly. So about
[1:27:42] Speaker 1: seven minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. Lakers
[1:27:44] Speaker 1: down 25. LeBron knocked down a clutch three-pointer to reach
[1:27:49] Speaker 1: double digits, finishing with 10 points on three of eight
[1:27:51] Speaker 1: shooting to extend his record to 1,297 games. J.J. Redick
[1:27:55] Speaker 1: left LeBron in the game despite the Lakers facing that
[1:27:57] Speaker 1: huge deficit. Should be noted, other starters were in the
[1:28:00] Speaker 1: game as well. So really quickly, just want to ask y'all,
[1:28:02] Speaker 1: any issue with J.J. Redick leaving LeBron in the game
[1:28:05] Speaker 1: to keep his double-digit scoring streak alive? No, he said
[1:28:09] Speaker 1: he's going through training camp right now. But he gets
[1:28:11] Speaker 1: as many reps in as you can. Swaggy, it can't
[1:28:14] Speaker 1: be inferred. No, if other starters was in there too.
[1:28:17] Speaker 3: Swaggy, Swaggy, he said he's going through training camp. He
[1:28:19] Speaker 3: got to get his reps up. He's going through training
[1:28:21] Speaker 3: camp right now.
[1:28:22] Speaker 1: I'm going to take this down, 25. At that point, 25.
[1:28:27] Speaker 1: About seven minutes to go. Take him out at like
[1:28:30] Speaker 1: five minutes, you know? He ain't have a training camp. Okay,
[1:28:32] Speaker 1: I got... no, I don't mind because obviously that's a record. Yeah. Right.
[1:28:44] Speaker 2: So I'm going to if I'm coaching or if I'm
[1:28:47] Speaker 2: a player and I'm there like if I had zero then,
[1:28:52] Speaker 2: you know, we okay, but you know, I'm only two
[1:28:54] Speaker 2: points away, you know, hey.
[1:28:57] Speaker 1: One for a flag. You know what I mean? It's,
[1:28:59] Speaker 1: you know, let me get my team, keep my little
[1:29:00] Speaker 1: record going.
[1:29:01] Speaker 2: And the fact that the other team still had their
[1:29:04] Speaker 2: starters in all the way down there to.
[1:29:05] Speaker 1: The end, you know, it's like, all right. Because Lakers
[1:29:08] Speaker 1: just waved the right flag. It's not news. Like, why
[1:29:12] Speaker 1: is it a big deal? Yeah, but why is it
[1:29:14] Speaker 1: a big deal that he was in the game? The
[1:29:16] Speaker 1: internet seemed to have a problem, said he was stat
[1:29:17] Speaker 1: padding his way to 10 points. Yeah. Just... Or LeBron hate.
[1:29:21] Speaker 1: Where we waited a few days to address it. Hey, yo,
[1:29:23] Speaker 1: this dude can't do nothing. Got it. The floor is yours, sir. Well,
[1:29:30] Speaker 1: I mean, I like it. Like I said, it's a record.
[1:29:32] Speaker 1: You know?
[1:29:33] Speaker 4: You think about it, you got nine three-pointers and the
[1:29:37] Speaker 4: record is ten. And the coach pulled you.
[1:29:40] Speaker 1: That's the worst.
[1:29:40] Speaker 4: Coach pulled you right before. Not giving a fuck about
[1:29:44] Speaker 4: the record, but... You want to hit the record. Coach
[1:29:47] Speaker 4: wants you to hit the record. Keep the record alive.
[1:29:50] Speaker 1: It's a record. That's the worst. Why not? Keep the record.
[1:29:57] Speaker 1: Keep the record. We heard Lexi. Lexi said she needed
[1:30:01] Speaker 1: four points for 1,000. And the coach never let her
[1:30:06] Speaker 1: get that. Did not let her get her four points. Okay.
[1:30:08] Speaker 1: I see. I see.
[1:30:11] Speaker 2: I know you know I got the right. You know,
[1:30:13] Speaker 2: you know, I'm close to it because it's on a brochure.
[1:30:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, my coach did that to me at Oak Hill.
[1:30:19] Speaker 6: But even 18, last game, took me out at the half.
[1:30:24] Speaker 6: That's why I was at 17.8. I was trying to
[1:30:27] Speaker 6: get it even.
[1:30:29] Speaker 1: Wow. How many points did you need to get it
[1:30:31] Speaker 1: to that 18 points per game? Wait, what?
[1:30:32] Speaker 3: You needed 20 probably.
[1:30:35] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. My coach did that to me at Oak Hill.
[1:30:38] Speaker 1: I had 63, took me out with five minutes left.
[1:30:43] Speaker 4: I think the main problem with LeBron thing is he
[1:30:46] Speaker 4: could have got the 10 points in the game.
[1:30:50] Speaker 1: He could have got that 10. I think it was
[1:30:52] Speaker 1: more how it looked. It was looking very shaky.
[1:30:54] Speaker 4: Y'all up 20. You ain't got 10 points yet. We
[1:30:58] Speaker 4: looking at you as, LeBron, you supposed to have been
[1:30:59] Speaker 4: done had 10. This should be on your 20-point streak
[1:31:03] Speaker 4: type shit.
[1:31:05] Speaker 1: LeBron just working in the flow of the Lakers offense.
[1:31:07] Speaker 1: We also showed that video earlier in the week of J.J.
[1:31:10] Speaker 1: Redick screaming at him, trying to get his attention as
[1:31:12] Speaker 1: he was talking to the Suns bench. LeBron appeared to
[1:31:15] Speaker 1: ignore his head coach forcing Redick to call timeout.
[1:31:18] Speaker 4: The question is, would it look worse if he was
[1:31:21] Speaker 4: chasing that record and they was down 20?
[1:31:22] Speaker 1: They were down 20. They were up? No, we were down.
[1:31:28] Speaker 1: We was down to him. They won that? He lost
[1:31:30] Speaker 1: that game against the Suns? Yeah, we got smacked.
[1:31:34] Speaker 4: Sean, you were aware of that though. You didn't see
[1:31:35] Speaker 4: the score? I thought they was up. So that made
[1:31:39] Speaker 4: it worse that he was over there in the corner
[1:31:41] Speaker 4: and shit. Yeah, that's why I'm laughing that you were good.
[1:31:43] Speaker 2: That's why I'm going to shock you.
[1:31:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why we're going to shock you. Yeah, that's
[1:31:50] Speaker 1: why I'm like, huh? That's a record. It's a record.
[1:31:53] Speaker 1: It's a record, right? It's a record, right? Records are records.
[1:31:58] Speaker 1: It's a record. But everybody's stars is out there, though.
[1:32:02] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:32:03] Speaker 1: I see Austin was out there. No, no. The other
[1:32:05] Speaker 1: team still had this. Because there was records going on
[1:32:07] Speaker 1: on that side, too. Yeah, it's a record.
[1:32:09] Speaker 2: It's LeBron James. Yeah, Weston got a career high. Yeah,
[1:32:11] Speaker 2: Weston got a career high. Did Weston get hit, Dylan?
[1:32:14] Speaker 2: He got close, but left Dylan. He only needed four points.
[1:32:17] Speaker 2: That's why he was still in. Because he was trying
[1:32:19] Speaker 2: to get his record.
[1:32:20] Speaker 1: It's a record. You may recall Bronny locked him up.
[1:32:23] Speaker 1: LeBron on the bench. And he was trying to get
[1:32:25] Speaker 1: his girl out. At what year were these expectations off
[1:32:29] Speaker 1: of LeBron? Like, when were they? Like, year 27, I think,
[1:32:33] Speaker 1: would be.
[1:32:33] Speaker 4: Like, when do you stop when he's gone?
[1:32:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm about to say that. I was going to
[1:32:38] Speaker 1: say that. Like, I've never seen somebody. I've never seen
[1:32:42] Speaker 1: an athlete. Never. Everybody wants gone. Never. Like, damn, again?
[1:32:46] Speaker 15: Sure.
[1:32:47] Speaker 1: Nah, I'm not thinking about that. Never. Save some points
[1:32:50] Speaker 1: for everybody else. from the wrong mindset.
[1:32:53] Speaker 6: Like, when I was at the gym, they were like, Nick,
[1:32:56] Speaker 6: do that shit you used to do. I was like, man,
[1:32:57] Speaker 6: I can't do that shit no more. So when did
[1:33:01] Speaker 6: that kick in? Like, everybody expect Brian to go out
[1:33:04] Speaker 6: there and get fit.
[1:33:06] Speaker 1: That's so much pressure every night, bro.
[1:33:07] Speaker 2: Listen, if he would have left 2020, everybody would have
[1:33:09] Speaker 2: been like, yeah.
[1:33:11] Speaker 1: 2020? Finally. At the league, the league shit. Yeah. Dude,
[1:33:15] Speaker 1: that shit you did on the Warriors. I said, man.
[1:33:17] Speaker 2: I see somebody that's like, yeah, I think you can go.
[1:33:20] Speaker 1: I didn't give it like 15 minutes. Yeah, yeah, I'd
[1:33:23] Speaker 1: be saying that, too. No, I'd be like, all right, man,
[1:33:25] Speaker 1: I'm going to make you pay for it. Have you
[1:33:28] Speaker 1: seen me walk back and forth? God damn. You be
[1:33:32] Speaker 1: trying your best. Shit. Nah, when would that happen though, like?
[1:33:40] Speaker 1: Hold on. So he has the record already? Yes. He's
[1:33:44] Speaker 1: just extending it. He's just extending the streak. Yes.
[1:33:46] Speaker 2: Just getting one whippersnappers.
[1:33:49] Speaker 1: Like 500 more games than Jordan wants to try to
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: get it through. Wait, wait, wait. What is that? What
[1:33:53] Speaker 1: is that? Wait, wait, wait.
[1:33:55] Speaker 4: So he's not going to break the record. He done
[1:33:57] Speaker 4: already broke the record. 1,297 straight games with double digits.
[1:34:00] Speaker 4: I think MJ's the next closest with like 780.
[1:34:03] Speaker 1: No, no, no. He got to keep going. You know why? Why?
[1:34:07] Speaker 2: Because there's another kid out there that's about to be
[1:34:10] Speaker 2: at 100, but he's on a 21. When is he
[1:34:15] Speaker 2: not going to have 10?
[1:34:18] Speaker 1: Shea. Wait, wait, wait.
[1:34:21] Speaker 2: Remember, Shea's on 20 in a row for damn near
[1:34:25] Speaker 2: almost 100 games. We don't know how many 10 in
[1:34:28] Speaker 2: a row he's at. You know what I mean?
[1:34:32] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:34:33] Speaker 2: So he is the one that's going to be close
[1:34:36] Speaker 2: enough to catch him. At some point, he keeps, you
[1:34:38] Speaker 2: know what I mean?
[1:34:39] Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait. So JJ left him in the game?
[1:34:41] Speaker 1: Hell yeah. Wait, wait. Well, he didn't leave him in
[1:34:44] Speaker 1: the game. He didn't leave him in the game. He
[1:34:45] Speaker 1: was in the game, but as soon as he hit it,
[1:34:49] Speaker 1: he got subbed out. This is a streak? Yeah, it's
[1:34:52] Speaker 1: a streak. What about his sciatica? No, no, no. I
[1:34:56] Speaker 1: need my record.
[1:34:57] Speaker 6: He got the record by 500. He already got the
[1:34:59] Speaker 6: record by 500. But 600 sounds better than 500.
[1:35:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. Nah, that's crazy.
[1:35:07] Speaker 4: He pushing them shits to the limit.
[1:35:13] Speaker 1: He should have let it go. You got to keep going.
[1:35:15] Speaker 1: Let the pressure. It's already pressure. They already said he
[1:35:18] Speaker 1: can't pass much. What was Miles Turner? He missed the game, right?
[1:35:21] Speaker 1: Did he have a record for... No, no, no. Mikael Bridges. Yeah,
[1:35:24] Speaker 1: Mikael Bridges. You know, Dane. He was on his way, too.
[1:35:34] Speaker 1: Like that was a streak, right? Yeah. And he finally like.
[1:35:37] Speaker 1: Snapped it. Yeah. Did he snap his streak? He's still going. What?
[1:35:43] Speaker 1: They subbed him in. Just go in, come out. But
[1:35:46] Speaker 1: that's not a big deal. That's not a big deal? No.
[1:35:49] Speaker 1: If that was Bron. Oh, no. If it was Bron.
[1:35:52] Speaker 1: I was hoping you would say. Yeah, they would have
[1:35:55] Speaker 1: did that. They'll sub him in. Yeah, sub him in.
[1:35:57] Speaker 1: You hired. Bron hired JJ. So he's going to do
[1:36:00] Speaker 1: what he say. Fairly.
[1:36:03] Speaker 4: So I'm not surprised by the shit. I'm just like,
[1:36:05] Speaker 4: I thought it was different. I'm fucked up all the
[1:36:08] Speaker 4: way around.
[1:36:09] Speaker 1: Like, yo, wait a minute. So they was down 20.
[1:36:11] Speaker 1: Luka might have hired 25. But JJ.
[1:36:13] Speaker 4: 25. And then you're not breaking a record. You're extending
[1:36:17] Speaker 4: one that's already 500 in front.
[1:36:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a different type of. It was only one
[1:36:23] Speaker 1: extra minute.
[1:36:24] Speaker 18: But if Phoenix Suns put their rookies in or their bench,
[1:36:28] Speaker 18: but the whole starting five was still out there because
[1:36:30] Speaker 18: they were trying to get his points.
[1:36:34] Speaker 1: And then the other kid was trying to extend his.
[1:36:36] Speaker 1: You can't have that streak snapped. By Dylan Brooks. Oh, no. Oh, no.
[1:36:40] Speaker 1: The amount of bear poking that would happen for the
[1:36:43] Speaker 1: end of eternity. Oh, no. Nobody even thinking that. Yeah,
[1:36:46] Speaker 1: that's even worse. He was. Nobody even thinking that. I
[1:36:48] Speaker 1: snapped bronze three. Yeah, see, you think you... Hell yeah,
[1:36:51] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks was thinking that. That would have been on
[1:36:53] Speaker 1: his mantle. The head on the man to top it off.
[1:36:57] Speaker 1: I stopped the streak. Is this your key? What?
[1:37:00] Speaker 15: That's the last person you want stopping your streak.
[1:37:06] Speaker 1: Yeah. Nah. That's nasty. I don't know. But he's done
[1:37:11] Speaker 1: that the whole time. Like, when Luka needed 50, he
[1:37:13] Speaker 1: do leave him in. Yeah, he leave you in. He
[1:37:15] Speaker 1: let him try. I think A.R. came closer. A.J. 's
[1:37:18] Speaker 1: a scorer, so, you know, he's a shooter. He's a
[1:37:20] Speaker 1: player of course, too. He was. Former co-host of Mind
[1:37:23] Speaker 1: the Game podcast. You know that feeling.
[1:37:27] Speaker 6: All those stats and shit really matter at the end
[1:37:29] Speaker 6: of the day when you're.
[1:37:31] Speaker 2: Trying to be at the end of the day. When
[1:37:33] Speaker 2: you're in real time, you don't think about it. Because
[1:37:36] Speaker 2: even Kevin Durant, did you hear Kevin Durant's comment?
[1:37:38] Speaker 1: Getting the 31,000 points?
[1:37:39] Speaker 2: He was like, wait, what? He said, I only need
[1:37:41] Speaker 2: eight points? Fuck, I could have got that tonight.
[1:37:43] Speaker 1: Because he didn't know he was that close. He would
[1:37:45] Speaker 1: have just broke it right then. Seems like he will
[1:37:48] Speaker 1: eventually surpass it. Yeah, but he basically said, I would
[1:37:50] Speaker 1: have broke it right then. You got to fire somebody
[1:37:52] Speaker 1: at the boardroom. You know, we'd be over there like,
[1:37:56] Speaker 1: you need eight more? Eight more what? Come on. Let
[1:38:00] Speaker 1: him know. Motherfuckers be in there. Yeah, sacrifice that night.
[1:38:03] Speaker 1: You know what's so funny? Sacrifice that night.
[1:38:05] Speaker 2: Was there, when David Robinson broke the record, when they
[1:38:09] Speaker 2: fed him the ball to beat Shaq, you remember.
[1:38:11] Speaker 1: Shaq set out, and David Robinson needed what, like 60-something? Yeah,
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: 70-something against the Clippers.
[1:38:15] Speaker 2: And they just kept feeding him so he can beat
[1:38:18] Speaker 2: Shaq for the scoring title. So he needed like 70-something points.
[1:38:22] Speaker 2: And the team went into it like, all right, we're
[1:38:25] Speaker 2: going to get it. So they just feeding him. Feeding him.
[1:38:28] Speaker 2: He was playing with the Clippers, right?
[1:38:29] Speaker 1: Yep. 71 points. Oh, my God. And that pissed Shaq off.
[1:38:33] Speaker 1: I remember when Steve Nash needed, look, four or five assists.
[1:38:37] Speaker 6: And everybody kept trying to get that on the Lakers.
[1:38:40] Speaker 1: That was fun. So who told LeBron that he only
[1:38:42] Speaker 1: had like eight points? Who notified him? That scoreboard? Well, Sean,
[1:38:46] Speaker 1: as you know, as a former Hooper, you were always
[1:38:47] Speaker 1: keeping it running for the whole course. Before his rebound,
[1:38:52] Speaker 1: it wasn't him. It wasn't him? It couldn't have been him.
[1:38:56] Speaker 1: It couldn't have been him. He only had ten. So
[1:38:59] Speaker 1: the nigga know, I ain't score that goddamn much. He
[1:39:02] Speaker 1: only had about five.
[1:39:05] Speaker 6: You're telling your points when you're in the game. When
[1:39:07] Speaker 6: you only got like six down, you got like six points?
[1:39:10] Speaker 6: Let me shoot this motherfucker.
[1:39:11] Speaker 1: So you guys used to keep track of how many
[1:39:13] Speaker 1: points you had in the game? No, no, no. When
[1:39:15] Speaker 1: you started scoring quick, he'd be like, damn, wait. That's
[1:39:19] Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
[1:39:19] Speaker 4: He could have had that 10 way earlier for you
[1:39:22] Speaker 4: to wait to the fourth and be like eight points.
[1:39:24] Speaker 4: And I'm like, damn, I only got eight? That's what
[1:39:26] Speaker 4: you used to do on the Warriors, nigga.
[1:39:28] Speaker 1: That's that shit right there. He could have had 10 earlier.
[1:39:31] Speaker 1: This nigga old now, man. This nigga. Yeah, so let
[1:39:34] Speaker 1: that shit be eight and let us go drink some wine.
[1:39:38] Speaker 1: You don't got eight tonight.
[1:39:41] Speaker 2: Hey, when you ever see a player do this running
[1:39:43] Speaker 2: back on defense and he look up, he looking at
[1:39:45] Speaker 2: how much I got.
[1:39:46] Speaker 1: For sure. For sure. For sure. Okay. Ain't ain't nothing
[1:39:51] Speaker 1: to look up. You be looking at it like, yeah,
[1:39:52] Speaker 1: I got it. That nigga got 38 on me? Oh
[1:39:54] Speaker 1: my God. Even when they're trying to look at the
[1:39:56] Speaker 1: replay for the foul? You're not looking at the replay? No,
[1:39:59] Speaker 1: you'd be checking everything up there. Yeah, especially if you
[1:40:02] Speaker 1: can't go foul, you're looking at those things.
[1:40:04] Speaker 15: You don't count the person who you're guarding until you
[1:40:07] Speaker 15: see a number you wasn't expecting.
[1:40:08] Speaker 1: You'd be like, he got 38 already? Oh my God. Switch!
[1:40:15] Speaker 1: That's how Martin used to be. What's he doing this
[1:40:17] Speaker 1: shit like that? Bucket getter. All right. Let's keep this
[1:40:21] Speaker 1: thing moving. We've got some bad news for Zion Williamson.
[1:40:25] Speaker 1: Pelican star sidelined yet again, this time with a grade
[1:40:28] Speaker 1: two right hip adductor strain. So according to the team,
[1:40:31] Speaker 1: Zion will be reevaluated in three weeks. Second extended stretch
[1:40:35] Speaker 1: of missed games for him this season after missing eight
[1:40:37] Speaker 1: straight games with a hamstring strain. Zion has now played
[1:40:41] Speaker 1: in just 224 out of a possible 494 games since
[1:40:44] Speaker 1: being taken with the number one overall pick in the
[1:40:47] Speaker 1: 2019 draft. So to add insult to Zion's injury, Pelicans
[1:40:50] Speaker 1: currently have the worst record in the National Basketball Association
[1:40:53] Speaker 1: with the Hawks owning their 2026 first round pick as
[1:40:56] Speaker 1: a result of a draft day trade for Derrick Queen
[1:40:58] Speaker 1: this summer. Zion averaged a 22.6 rebounds in 10 games
[1:41:02] Speaker 1: this season, but according to reports, the Pelicans are now
[1:41:04] Speaker 1: listening to trade offers with a two-time All-Star. Seems like
[1:41:08] Speaker 1: a discussion we've had many times here in Gills Arena
[1:41:11] Speaker 1: presented by Underdog Woo-Woo. Woo-Woo. That was a sad Woo-Woo.
[1:41:15] Speaker 1: Time for the Pelicans. To move on from Zion. Yeah,
[1:41:22] Speaker 1: it's been tough. Yeah, I think they got two new
[1:41:26] Speaker 1: studs over there where they're like, you know, we got
[1:41:30] Speaker 1: Fears and we got Queen. Yeah, Queen. And we need
[1:41:35] Speaker 1: to go in a different direction. We can't put all
[1:41:37] Speaker 1: of our.
[1:41:39] Speaker 2: Resources, vocal, around Zion anymore if he can't be healthy. Obviously,
[1:41:46] Speaker 2: you would love for him to be a part of
[1:41:49] Speaker 2: this nice little trio we could have, you know, at
[1:41:53] Speaker 2: the four or five.
[1:41:54] Speaker 1: But, you know, he just can't stay healthy.
[1:41:57] Speaker 2: So if you can get something back for him that
[1:42:00] Speaker 2: can add to your roster to help them to, you know,
[1:42:03] Speaker 2: build on their confidence and build their game, then you
[1:42:07] Speaker 2: got to make that. I mean, this is the time, too,
[1:42:09] Speaker 2: because you got two guys that are future stars, both
[1:42:12] Speaker 2: of them.
[1:42:13] Speaker 1: Designed in the third year of the five-year, $ 197 million
[1:42:16] Speaker 1: extension he signed back in 2022. Obviously, he has a
[1:42:20] Speaker 1: bunch of weight clauses on it and other things where
[1:42:22] Speaker 1: they don't have to give him all his bread, but...
[1:42:24] Speaker 1: They don't look like he's... I mean, it doesn't look
[1:42:27] Speaker 1: like he was... Performance-based, I think... I don't think he's
[1:42:31] Speaker 1: been breaking... No, I'm just saying, but they have ways
[1:42:33] Speaker 1: to protect some of the bread. He gonna be on
[1:42:35] Speaker 1: how long? He had a weight clause? I don't know.
[1:42:39] Speaker 1: He had a weight call. According to reports. He better
[1:42:41] Speaker 1: hit that. Benchmarks he had to meet, I think, for weight,
[1:42:45] Speaker 1: body fat, but also I think games played, too, from
[1:42:47] Speaker 1: season to season. We gave him the option to void
[1:42:49] Speaker 1: the contract.
[1:42:51] Speaker 2: Yeah. Damn.
[1:42:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's time to get traded. Damn, a weight call.
[1:42:58] Speaker 1: It's hard. We can't even defend him, in a sense. Ah, damn.
[1:43:03] Speaker 1: You got to get out of here. Especially since you
[1:43:05] Speaker 1: see the other two. You're like, ah, yeah. Send him
[1:43:07] Speaker 1: to the Clippers. Nope. Need to go somewhere. That's probably
[1:43:12] Speaker 1: the last thing. Bring all the motherfuckers that's always hurt.
[1:43:16] Speaker 6: Put them on the Clippers or... That kind of Clippers,
[1:43:21] Speaker 6: let people disappear.
[1:43:23] Speaker 1: Who do you move them for? That becomes a question.
[1:43:27] Speaker 1: Who would you want in the wrist? How tall is Queen?
[1:43:31] Speaker 1: About 6'10?
[1:43:31] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:43:32] Speaker 1: Is he playing a 5'4?
[1:43:37] Speaker 4: Zion and Herb Jones with Fears for Jaron Jackson and
[1:43:43] Speaker 4: Ja Morant.
[1:43:44] Speaker 1: Wait, wait. You trading Fears already? No. Because you're going
[1:43:47] Speaker 1: to bring in a point guard. Ooh. No, not Ja, though.
[1:43:50] Speaker 1: Ja and Jaron Jackson. Now your teammate. Wait, how old
[1:43:55] Speaker 1: is the rest of the team? I can't go.
[1:43:57] Speaker 4: Got Herb, Fears, and Zion going to Memphis with Zach Eady.
[1:44:04] Speaker 4: And then you bring Ja. Jaron Jackson, and you got Queen.
[1:44:11] Speaker 4: You got Alvarado still there. Backing up. It's a whole
[1:44:16] Speaker 4: new look for both sides. But that's just the least
[1:44:19] Speaker 4: I'm talking about. You're looking at two assets that are
[1:44:22] Speaker 4: trouble assets that they need. Both sides want to get off.
[1:44:25] Speaker 4: I don't want to trade for one.
[1:44:27] Speaker 1: They both want to get off.
[1:44:28] Speaker 2: I don't want to trade my fucked up car for
[1:44:29] Speaker 2: your fucked up car.
[1:44:31] Speaker 4: Ain't that the conversation they having? It's about Trey Young,
[1:44:35] Speaker 4: John Morant. And LaMelo Ball all getting rid of switching,
[1:44:41] Speaker 4: just switching teams with each other.
[1:44:42] Speaker 1: Like, y'all take him, we'll take him, we'll take him.
[1:44:46] Speaker 4: So, Jai, I mean, you throw Zion in the mix
[1:44:48] Speaker 4: with that, and you say, well, shit, just throw.
[1:44:50] Speaker 1: Zion in there. I'm trying to get a scenario to
[1:44:54] Speaker 1: send them to the Bulls.
[1:44:55] Speaker 4: It don't make no sense right now because they don't
[1:44:57] Speaker 4: got the money.
[1:44:58] Speaker 1: But Jai and Memphis. Well, well. Zion's going to be
[1:45:05] Speaker 1: tricky because they can void his contract. Right? So get
[1:45:11] Speaker 1: him for the cheat. Miami? What about Miami? Wait, wait.
[1:45:17] Speaker 1: Send him to Miami? No, how does that contract work exactly? Yeah.
[1:45:22] Speaker 1: So I'm reading, Pelican void the non-guaranteed portions of Zion's
[1:45:25] Speaker 1: contract after the 24-25 season, which we're done, because he
[1:45:30] Speaker 1: triggered a clause by missing too many games. Okay. Okay.
[1:45:33] Speaker 1: So they don't have to pay him now. The final
[1:45:34] Speaker 1: three years of his contract were already made, not guaranteed,
[1:45:37] Speaker 1: starting this season due to his failure to meet a
[1:45:39] Speaker 1: games play threshold in the 22-23 season. So it's not guaranteed.
[1:45:43] Speaker 1: So what is this nigga playing on? Right. They're still
[1:45:46] Speaker 1: paying him, but they can at any point be like, ooh.
[1:45:48] Speaker 1: They can take it all? Nigga cut it. So they're
[1:45:51] Speaker 1: not going to do that. To get their bread, basically.
[1:45:53] Speaker 1: To get their bread.
[1:45:54] Speaker 2: They're not going to do that. So they're going to
[1:45:56] Speaker 2: trade him. Now, when he gets traded, that's still in
[1:46:01] Speaker 2: the works.
[1:46:01] Speaker 1: Yep. That contract? Yeah.
[1:46:04] Speaker 19: Can they cut him and re-sign him? Yeah, that's what
[1:46:07] Speaker 19: I was about to say. Can't somebody cut him and
[1:46:09] Speaker 19: re-sign him? But they have to wait a year, right?
[1:46:11] Speaker 19: If you cut him, though, why am I going to
[1:46:13] Speaker 19: re-sign with you? Yeah, I'm talking about somebody... We're saving money.
[1:46:17] Speaker 1: No, what I'm saying.
[1:46:19] Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think they're going to do this,
[1:46:21] Speaker 2: but the problem... I mean, it's going to be somebody
[1:46:24] Speaker 2: who's looking to save money.
[1:46:27] Speaker 1: So it'd be.
[1:46:28] Speaker 2: Okay, so whoever wants to dump money That's who's going
[1:46:32] Speaker 2: to trade for him. So, basically, they'll trade there, let's say,
[1:46:36] Speaker 2: $ 40 million worth of players.
[1:46:37] Speaker 1: Boom. When he gets there, cut him. So, they give
[1:46:42] Speaker 1: him the $ 40 million. They clean the book. Okay, okay.
[1:46:44] Speaker 1: And then he'll just be a free agent. Who's going
[1:46:47] Speaker 1: to point guard? Fears. Alvarado. Okay, yeah. Oh, no.
[1:46:53] Speaker 2: Okay, so who's desperate to dump cash right now?
[1:46:59] Speaker 1: Or dump salary? The Sixers. Wizards? So, Cavs, if they
[1:47:10] Speaker 1: currently have a payroll of $ 232 million, Knicks are $ 211,
[1:47:15] Speaker 1: Warriors are $ 211, Mavs are $ 208, Riverwoods are $ 205. Cavs
[1:47:21] Speaker 1: would be nice.
[1:47:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, Cavs at this point probably need to re-adculate money.
[1:47:25] Speaker 2: So they can build because the team they have.
[1:47:29] Speaker 1: No, no, no.
[1:47:30] Speaker 2: No, no, because they have a very high salary cap,
[1:47:36] Speaker 2: but they don't have the real talent to win a championship.
[1:47:39] Speaker 2: So what you can do now is say, all right,
[1:47:42] Speaker 2: we can trade you these two players for him.
[1:47:46] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:47:46] Speaker 2: So that's $ 40 million. They get back $ 40 million, but
[1:47:49] Speaker 2: they can cut that $ 40 million.
[1:47:50] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:47:50] Speaker 2: So they cut that $ 40 million. Now they got $ 40
[1:47:52] Speaker 2: million in free agent market.
[1:47:54] Speaker 1: Their tax bill estimated $ 163 million. You know what I mean?
[1:47:57] Speaker 1: So now they can go out there and be big
[1:47:59] Speaker 1: ballers now. Exactly.
[1:48:01] Speaker 6: Sorry, another side note. Zion's contract get cut. Do anybody
[1:48:05] Speaker 6: pay him?
[1:48:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[1:48:07] Speaker 6: Do anybody give him big money after that?
[1:48:10] Speaker 1: No, they don't have to. No.
[1:48:11] Speaker 6: Or is he giving him the same type of contract?
[1:48:14] Speaker 1: No, like, okay, let's say. He's proving him any play, but.
[1:48:18] Speaker 1: He can go anywhere he wants That's what I'm saying.
[1:48:20] Speaker 1: That'd be dangerous. That's what I'm saying. He can go
[1:48:21] Speaker 1: anywhere he wants.
[1:48:22] Speaker 2: Who has salary cap? Because it all depends on what
[1:48:25] Speaker 2: he's going to want to sign for. Because he can
[1:48:28] Speaker 2: sign for the vet mem. I don't know if that
[1:48:30] Speaker 2: would be allowed.
[1:48:31] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. If they cut him, he could.
[1:48:34] Speaker 1: He could. Based on that.
[1:48:37] Speaker 2: You know what's so funny is that you get investigated
[1:48:40] Speaker 2: for that. Let's say you have a value of $ 20
[1:48:43] Speaker 2: million a year.
[1:48:45] Speaker 1: You go on a free agency and you go somewhere
[1:48:46] Speaker 1: and sign for the vet mem early. That would be investigated.
[1:48:53] Speaker 4: But that's just showing you got to show your worth.
[1:48:55] Speaker 4: It's like Ben Simmons.
[1:48:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, why? Like if you go into it, you sign
[1:48:58] Speaker 1: a minimum.
[1:48:59] Speaker 2: Because of Kawhi. No, but that's the reason. Because of
[1:49:02] Speaker 2: things like that. They don't want you to show your worth.
[1:49:05] Speaker 2: Salary cap is the most important.
[1:49:07] Speaker 1: Take a year. You got to take a year to
[1:49:08] Speaker 1: show your worth. Right, right, right. So I'll sign a
[1:49:11] Speaker 1: bet minimum, right?
[1:49:12] Speaker 3: But I'm worth 20, but I want to sign a
[1:49:14] Speaker 3: bet minimum because I want more, right?
[1:49:16] Speaker 1: I want more.
[1:49:17] Speaker 4: I got to prove it that year. That's what I'm saying.
[1:49:20] Speaker 4: I'm saying it shouldn't be no problem. He wouldn't have
[1:49:22] Speaker 4: to sign a bet minimum. Because I'm gambling.
[1:49:24] Speaker 2: Because there's going to be other deals out there. You
[1:49:28] Speaker 2: taking his bet minimum, how much did he pay you
[1:49:29] Speaker 2: under the table?
[1:49:31] Speaker 1: Because I'm pretty sure you'll get way more than that minimum. Remember,
[1:49:33] Speaker 1: everyone wants to dodge your salary cap.
[1:49:35] Speaker 2: So instead of me giving you $ 10 million of salary
[1:49:39] Speaker 2: on books, I'd rather give you nine in your pocket than.
[1:49:43] Speaker 1: One on the books.
[1:49:44] Speaker 2: Because one on the books, I can go get another place. Yeah,
[1:49:48] Speaker 2: go get some other guys. For that year.
[1:49:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, for that year. So basically like the deal that...
[1:49:53] Speaker 1: Kawhi did.
[1:49:55] Speaker 4: To be able to get Paul George.
[1:49:57] Speaker 1: Don't you like to plant trees?
[1:50:00] Speaker 2: It'll be really tricky because whoever... It's kind of easy
[1:50:05] Speaker 2: to follow. Whoever wants to dump salary for next year
[1:50:08] Speaker 2: or get ready for the 2027, he is the perfect
[1:50:11] Speaker 2: contract because you can let him go and you can.
[1:50:13] Speaker 1: Let him go and sign him back.
[1:50:15] Speaker 2: I can cut him off for $ 40 million and then say, hey, I'll.
[1:50:19] Speaker 1: Give you $ 20.
[1:50:19] Speaker 2: Spurs.
[1:50:20] Speaker 1: You can do whatever. Spurs. Send him to the Spurs.
[1:50:23] Speaker 1: He was signed for a vet minimum. Send him to Dallas.
[1:50:26] Speaker 1: You think he was signed for a vet minimum? No, no, no.
[1:50:29] Speaker 1: You can send him to Dallas. He definitely needs to
[1:50:31] Speaker 1: go somewhere where. Funny you say that. We'll talk about
[1:50:34] Speaker 1: that in a second. So he's getting $ 40 million this year,
[1:50:36] Speaker 1: $ 42 million next year, $ 44 million. No, no, no. $ 40 million, right?
[1:50:38] Speaker 1: He do pay $ 40 million. I get him for $ 40 million.
[1:50:44] Speaker 1: And just like Fred, right? I say, hey, I'm going
[1:50:49] Speaker 1: to cut you. I'm going to cut you. Is that
[1:50:51] Speaker 1: what they did, right? I'm going to cut you. We
[1:50:53] Speaker 1: had a team option.
[1:50:55] Speaker 2: Or I'm going to cut you. You're not getting this bread,
[1:50:57] Speaker 2: so take this. So he's going to say, I'm going
[1:50:59] Speaker 2: to cut you. Instead of getting the 40, I only
[1:51:01] Speaker 2: want to give you 20. Take it or leave it.
[1:51:06] Speaker 4: What's the incentive on the back end of that 20?
[1:51:08] Speaker 4: Is this I'm taking the 20 for this one year
[1:51:10] Speaker 4: and we're going to renegotiate after this? Because the 20
[1:51:14] Speaker 4: on the books makes sense for our books.
[1:51:15] Speaker 1: Yeah. But after this, I know you're going to want more.
[1:51:19] Speaker 1: Especially if you play well. Exactly.
[1:51:20] Speaker 4: If we do something. If you play well, then yeah.
[1:51:22] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? So it couldn't be no
[1:51:24] Speaker 4: long-term deal on the books for that 20. It's got
[1:51:26] Speaker 4: to be one year of 20.
[1:51:28] Speaker 1: That's what I was saying when James got fucked up. Remember?
[1:51:32] Speaker 1: In the Sixers. You got to remember, he don't have
[1:51:35] Speaker 1: the leverage right now.
[1:51:36] Speaker 2: So he can be put in a situation where whoever
[1:51:40] Speaker 2: gets him is going to cut him off that original deal.
[1:51:43] Speaker 2: and then see if they can add. But if he
[1:51:45] Speaker 2: says no, and then let's say he wants to go
[1:51:47] Speaker 2: to OKC, he can sign for whatever he wants to.
[1:51:54] Speaker 2: So then he becomes a problem in free agency, or
[1:51:57] Speaker 2: not even free agency, just in the open market because
[1:51:59] Speaker 2: he got let go. Now he's a, so if he says,
[1:52:04] Speaker 2: you know what, fuck that. I want to go win
[1:52:05] Speaker 2: a championship. OKC, what y'all got? You got $ 500, 000, you
[1:52:09] Speaker 2: got a million. Yeah, yeah, he got to take whatever.
[1:52:10] Speaker 1: I'm signing.
[1:52:12] Speaker 2: And then he go there, sign, they win the championship.
[1:52:14] Speaker 2: He has decent numbers. Going into free agency, he going
[1:52:16] Speaker 2: to be getting at least $ 20 million.
[1:52:18] Speaker 1: Well, hold up.
[1:52:18] Speaker 4: Ain't that based on your market value at that point?
[1:52:21] Speaker 4: So if you think about market value with him, with
[1:52:24] Speaker 4: his resume and his injury-prone.
[1:52:27] Speaker 1: It's way more than that minimum. But we're talking about
[1:52:30] Speaker 1: $ 10 million? 20. He's at 26 and 4.
[1:52:35] Speaker 4: But you play half of the game since 2019. Less
[1:52:38] Speaker 4: than half. Like we literally as an organization.
[1:52:42] Speaker 1: On a team like that. Fuck all that. Every game.
[1:52:45] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[1:52:45] Speaker 4: 50% of your games you done missed based on your
[1:52:49] Speaker 4: weight problem and whatever. As an organization, you doubling that.
[1:52:54] Speaker 4: Like we, the owners doubling whatever we're paying.
[1:52:57] Speaker 1: It's on our books. It's going double.
[1:52:59] Speaker 4: So we got to think about it like, nah, if
[1:53:01] Speaker 4: the market value saying ain't nobody.
[1:53:03] Speaker 1: Else out there going to give him, what he asking for?
[1:53:08] Speaker 4: When we cut that 20 and he's like, all right,
[1:53:12] Speaker 4: open market, free market, I can go anywhere. We can
[1:53:15] Speaker 4: give you five. We can give you three. But that's
[1:53:18] Speaker 4: going to be contingent on everybody offering him that, right?
[1:53:22] Speaker 4: If the first team come up and give him like,
[1:53:24] Speaker 4: we'll offer you 15, now he know that's his evaluation, right?
[1:53:28] Speaker 1: But does he take that 15 to go to another
[1:53:29] Speaker 1: situation that potentially he don't want to fuck with or
[1:53:31] Speaker 1: I can come over here? Listen.
[1:53:34] Speaker 4: And if it's not a situation he wants to be
[1:53:37] Speaker 4: in and.
[1:53:37] Speaker 2: They offer him. 22-64, right, has never been about his performance. No,
[1:53:42] Speaker 2: we've never knocked him for his performance, just his health.
[1:53:44] Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, who has the healthiest team? Is it Golden State?
[1:53:50] Speaker 1: Probably OKC. I mean, Steph, I'm about to say it right.
[1:53:53] Speaker 4: OKC.
[1:53:54] Speaker 1: OKC. Down Taylor Williams. Dan from Miami. Dan from Miami. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:53:58] Speaker 1: Without Brown and Aaron Gordon right now.
[1:54:00] Speaker 2: Right, so.
[1:54:01] Speaker 1: Everybody's pretty fucked. Everybody, yeah. Everybody's pretty fucked except for OKC.
[1:54:04] Speaker 1: Brooklyn probably. Houston. Houston. I'm just saying, in the last
[1:54:07] Speaker 1: like five years, what team, what team. Most of their
[1:54:14] Speaker 1: players always are healthy. The Knicks have the best medical staff,
[1:54:18] Speaker 1: training staff, which they got from Dallas.
[1:54:20] Speaker 2: So now what ends up happening is the team itself
[1:54:26] Speaker 2: don't give a shit about your history because most teams
[1:54:30] Speaker 2: know they don't have what we have. That's a mediocre franchise.
[1:54:34] Speaker 2: That's a bottom-feeding franchise. So we get him, even though
[1:54:38] Speaker 2: he's played less than half or half, we're not worried
[1:54:40] Speaker 2: about that because we're not them dummies over there.
[1:54:42] Speaker 4: Yeah, we're going to turn his whole career around. We're
[1:54:44] Speaker 4: going to turn his whole shit around.
[1:54:45] Speaker 2: So if he averages 26 over there with that bullshit,
[1:54:49] Speaker 2: he's coming to us, he's a superstar.
[1:54:50] Speaker 1: Bigger market. So Knicks would probably, if they know they
[1:54:55] Speaker 1: have the best.
[1:54:56] Speaker 4: They got one of the best medicals for sure.
[1:54:59] Speaker 1: They will go after him, and they might fuck around
[1:55:01] Speaker 1: and not cut him. His contracts. Facts. Facts. They wouldn't
[1:55:06] Speaker 1: give a fuck. Facts. OG. Zion for OG?
[1:55:10] Speaker 2: Huh?
[1:55:10] Speaker 1: What happened with you? Right now? Zion for OG straight up.
[1:55:15] Speaker 1: Now what happened with you? Now here's a gangster move. Yeah,
[1:55:19] Speaker 1: I'm about to say something. Hold on, hold on.
[1:55:22] Speaker 4: What happened now?
[1:55:25] Speaker 1: Now let's say if you nix... The bread matches up.
[1:55:29] Speaker 1: The bread matches up with OG? Very much. Oh, shit.
[1:55:34] Speaker 1: Now you have two plays here. If you are the Knicks,
[1:55:38] Speaker 1: and you.
[1:55:39] Speaker 2: Know you're sitting with Giannis, and you're sitting there, you
[1:55:43] Speaker 2: got a link to Giannis, you know what you're trading,
[1:55:45] Speaker 2: you are personally thinking about who you can trade with them.
[1:55:51] Speaker 1: Okay? With Pelicans. Okay.
[1:55:55] Speaker 2: And you're having a conversation with Zion like, look, we
[1:55:58] Speaker 2: want you long term, but look, we're trying to get
[1:56:01] Speaker 2: Giannis too. So we got to make this deal for Giannis.
[1:56:04] Speaker 2: When you get here, we're going to cut you and
[1:56:06] Speaker 2: we're going to pay you. We're going to re-sign you
[1:56:08] Speaker 2: back for this.
[1:56:10] Speaker 1: Right, right, right, right.
[1:56:11] Speaker 2: And then we'll give you your big contract or whatever.
[1:56:14] Speaker 2: But we need to make this deal.
[1:56:16] Speaker 1: Right? That's the Brunson deal. And now you would sit
[1:56:21] Speaker 1: there with Brunson. With Brunson. We've seen it.
[1:56:25] Speaker 7: Listen, we've seen Steph and KD play together.
[1:56:26] Speaker 1: That's a big super team. We've seen Steph and KD.
[1:56:30] Speaker 2: Because you know he wants to be there. He wanted
[1:56:32] Speaker 2: to go to the Knicks originally.
[1:56:34] Speaker 1: That's the next team that needs to be in, finally.
[1:56:36] Speaker 1: New York. That's getting rid of OG and Cat. That's
[1:56:39] Speaker 1: OG and Cat. They need the win. Or Giannis. The
[1:56:42] Speaker 1: next one I'm going to.
[1:56:44] Speaker 2: You might have to throw in Josh Hart.
[1:56:47] Speaker 1: You might have to throw in Josh Hart or Bridges.
[1:56:51] Speaker 1: I'm trying to keep you here at all costs. That's it.
[1:56:54] Speaker 2: But you might have to throw in. You're losing four
[1:56:57] Speaker 2: of them. You're losing four of those starters. But you're
[1:57:00] Speaker 2: getting back Zion and Giannis.
[1:57:04] Speaker 1: We keeping Mitchell? Now you'll probably get rid of him
[1:57:08] Speaker 1: as if you can keep him. Wait, wait, wait. So
[1:57:09] Speaker 1: what would the team be, actually? It all depends. Giannis, Zion, Brunson. Brunson. Hart.
[1:57:17] Speaker 1: You probably got to get rid of him. You got
[1:57:19] Speaker 1: to keep Hart. You got to keep Hart. Because he's
[1:57:22] Speaker 1: on the bench.
[1:57:22] Speaker 2: What I'm saying is I'll probably try to keep McHale.
[1:57:26] Speaker 1: I'm trying to keep Mikael for sure. Yeah, that's what
[1:57:28] Speaker 1: I'm saying. Is it Mikael or Hart?
[1:57:29] Speaker 4: If you're getting rid of Mitchell, you're talking about Mitchell, Cat, OG,
[1:57:34] Speaker 4: and Hart.
[1:57:35] Speaker 1: Where will Hart fit? See, you know what?
[1:57:37] Speaker 2: I probably will have to keep Hart only because he's
[1:57:40] Speaker 2: a glue guy. And he can he can play anywhere.
[1:57:44] Speaker 2: He's like the this the guards Raymond green, right?
[1:57:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah offers the rebounds defense. That's right. That's right.
[1:57:51] Speaker 1: I was about to say that cuz hey, you guys
[1:57:53] Speaker 1: don't shoot. That's okay, though. You don't have okay, though.
[1:57:55] Speaker 1: You got enough. You got enough.
[1:57:57] Speaker 7: But we need somebody to go out there and guard
[1:57:59] Speaker 7: 94 feet go do all that shit.
[1:58:00] Speaker 1: We got we got Zion, Giannis, and fucking Brunson. Bro,
[1:58:12] Speaker 1: that's enough scoring. He's packing the paint. He shoots about 38%.
[1:58:14] Speaker 1: He's packing the paint. Oh, yeah, he can still. Packing
[1:58:17] Speaker 1: the paint, for sure. Packing the paint. Yeah, but he
[1:58:19] Speaker 1: can still shoot it, though, is what I'm saying. He
[1:58:20] Speaker 1: can still put it in the hoop, though. Please shoot it.
[1:58:23] Speaker 4: I'm sticking with Mikael Bridges and I'm fucking with young
[1:58:26] Speaker 4: fella McBride off the bench.
[1:58:28] Speaker 1: Shout out Deuce McBride.
[1:58:29] Speaker 4: We got Clarkson off the bench and if we got
[1:58:31] Speaker 4: to get rid of Mitchell and all them.
[1:58:33] Speaker 1: We got Zion and motherfucking Giannis.
[1:58:36] Speaker 2: Brunson already saved you money to do it to for
[1:58:38] Speaker 2: the future. Whoever gets Zion's contract... The only way.
[1:58:42] Speaker 6: I'm thinking to keep it hard is because Zion might
[1:58:45] Speaker 6: get hurt and you might need that four man to
[1:58:47] Speaker 6: come in.
[1:58:47] Speaker 1: That's the only way I'm thinking to keep it hard.
[1:58:50] Speaker 2: Whoever gets him, they're going to save a lot of money.
[1:58:53] Speaker 2: It's going to change your contracts.
[1:58:56] Speaker 4: That's a different type of look though. You're talking about Giannis, Zion,
[1:59:00] Speaker 4: and Brunson in New York. Knicks will be running around. Yeah,
[1:59:04] Speaker 4: Knicks will be cracking and cracking. As I say, healthy
[1:59:07] Speaker 4: in New York. No gumbo, but some fine culinary offerings throughout.
[1:59:11] Speaker 1: Oh, shit, it's already 132. Man, damn. That got away
[1:59:14] Speaker 1: from us. Yes, it did, Gil. I'll wrap this shit up.
[1:59:16] Speaker 1: Time flies when you're having fun. Gil, there's a nicer
[1:59:19] Speaker 1: word to say than that. I'm on my Chris Paul shit.
[1:59:22] Speaker 1: Wrap this shit up. Gil, arena lawyering. What'd he say? Funny? How?
[1:59:28] Speaker 3: Time flies when you're having fun.
[1:59:34] Speaker 1: I've never heard that song. That's Janet Jackson. That's Janet Jackson.
[1:59:38] Speaker 1: Thank you. Funny How Time Flies. Oh, but it was
[1:59:41] Speaker 1: like that? I was like, oh. Yeah. Yeah, it sounded
[1:59:43] Speaker 1: like that. Hey, hey, hey. I did. I did. I
[1:59:45] Speaker 1: was like, am I tripping? Do I? Mr. B, they're
[1:59:48] Speaker 1: not cartoon.
[1:59:48] Speaker 2: Oh, OK.
[1:59:49] Speaker 1: All right, my bad. This is a different. Oh, man.
[1:59:51] Speaker 1: We're in a different situation. Yeah, we're in a different situation.
[1:59:54] Speaker 1: That Janet Jackson song is a classic, by the way.
[1:59:56] Speaker 1: The one on stream? No. Funny how time flies. I
[1:59:59] Speaker 1: told you what I know. The video with Michael Jackson.
[2:00:03] Speaker 5: Ain't nobody listen to other Jacksons.
[2:00:06] Speaker 1: Daniel Jackson got some records. We know there was a Tito, Randy, Sandy.
[2:00:09] Speaker 1: We know there was a bunch of them. We just
[2:00:11] Speaker 1: put a mic on that. Jackie Jermaine. Who left the
[2:00:27] Speaker 1: towels in the pool? Who left the damn towels in
[2:00:29] Speaker 1: the pool? They were leaving towels in the pool.
[2:00:31] Speaker 4: They were living a good life.
[2:00:33] Speaker 1: Was this Toyota Jackson? Latoya. Oh, Latoya Jackson. Janet. I
[2:00:37] Speaker 1: said Toyota. Toyota Jackson. I knew it was a car.
[2:00:42] Speaker 1: It didn't move very well. I know it was something.
[2:00:44] Speaker 1: I seen a picture of her recently. I said, yeah,
[2:00:46] Speaker 1: they moving. Did she come out with something? She tried
[2:00:50] Speaker 1: at one point. Yeah, Toyota Jackson. All right.
[2:00:54] Speaker 15: It's in the back.
[2:00:56] Speaker 1: It's in the back. Put some oil in it. Don't
[2:01:00] Speaker 1: you like the country? Put some oil in it. On
[2:01:04] Speaker 1: that note, appreciate everybody in the chat. Appreciate our entire staff.
[2:01:08] Speaker 1: Appreciate the fine folks over at Underdog as well. But
[2:01:12] Speaker 1: this has been another episode of Gil's Arena presented by Underdog.
[2:01:15] Speaker 1: We'll see y'all next week.
