The San Antonio Spurs HOSTILE Bounce Back IGNITES Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew react to the San Antonio Spurs taking down the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to get themselves back in the series and break down how Victor Wembanyama proved he was built for the moment on the NBA's biggest stage as the Alien willed his team to a much needed victory. They also highlight the questionable officiating that caused Knicks head coach Mike Brown to crash out following the game and discuss if Jalen Brunson & The Knicks' shooting struggles to open up the series should be a cause for concern as they need just 2 more wins to clinch an NBA Title. Next, they react to President Trump making history by attending Game 3 and debate if his presence along with the hightened security took away from the usually hostile atmosphere at Madison Square Garden, eliminating the Knicks home court advantage in their biggest home game in over a decade. Finally, they react to LeBron James being named the most influential athlete of the century by TIME Magazine and react to his take on ring chasing as the King held firm on the idea that teaming up with other superstars isn't cheating before breaking down rumors of his upcoming Free Agency, where the Golden State Warriors are quietly emerging as a top suitor, allowing LeBron to team up with other aging legends like Steph Curry & Draymond Green. [0:02] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by Underdog.
[0:04] Speaker 2: How everybody feeling today? All black? Somber? Good? It's just
[0:13] Speaker 2: one game. Hey. Good game, baby. Presidential tent. But this
[0:25] Speaker 2: is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog.
[0:27] Speaker 3: I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson, representing a tough crowd
[0:29] Speaker 3: and a card-carrying country club member.
[0:31] Speaker 2: We got Mr. B, Brandon Jennings. Okay.
[0:37] Speaker 3: Dressed to impress, we got one of the biggest legends
[0:39] Speaker 3: in the sports media game, Skip Bayless, back in the building.
[0:43] Speaker 2: Representing for Vandy. Feeling dandy? Okay.
[0:47] Speaker 4: Feeling dandy.
[0:47] Speaker 2: Got to coordinate.
[0:48] Speaker 5: Well.
[0:49] Speaker 2: Coordination.
[0:49] Speaker 4: Appreciate that.
[0:51] Speaker 1: On this side of the couch, we got the distinguished
[0:52] Speaker 1: gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number one pick, Kenyon Martin.
[0:55] Speaker 2: Back in the building.
[0:59] Speaker 3: And representing the Spurs today, the man they call Cemetery Larry,
[1:03] Speaker 3: NCAA Champion of the World, Dr.
[1:04] Speaker 2: Rashad McCants, PhD. That was easy.
[1:11] Speaker 4: That was easy.
[1:13] Speaker 2: Finish him. That's a lot of sound effects.
[1:17] Speaker 5: A whole cheat code.
[1:18] Speaker 2: A lot.
[1:19] Speaker 3: Shout out to our production team. Need all my theatrics.
[1:22] Speaker 3: We're staying ready. Well, we got a lot to get into.
[1:25] Speaker 3: Here's what's cracking in Gil's arena today. Wimby proved he
[1:28] Speaker 3: was built for the moment, got in the Spurs to
[1:30] Speaker 3: a Game 3 win over the Knicks. Is San Antonio
[1:34] Speaker 3: still cooked or cooking? Trump became the first sitting president
[1:38] Speaker 3: to attend an NBA Finals game, but did his presence
[1:41] Speaker 3: kill the energy inside and outside of Madison Square Garden?
[1:45] Speaker 2: Got booed? Apparently, we have the audio. You be the
[1:48] Speaker 2: judge for yourself.
[1:50] Speaker 3: And LeBron is set to be a free agent for
[1:51] Speaker 3: the first time since 2018. Should the king take his
[1:54] Speaker 3: talent to the bay to team up with the chef?
[1:57] Speaker 3: But before we get into all that, as always, this
[1:59] Speaker 3: show is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog is available
[2:01] Speaker 3: in most states, including Texas, California, and Florida. New customers

[2:14] Speaker 1: And if you can't watch this show live with us
[2:15] Speaker 1: on YouTube, we've got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify,
[2:18] Speaker 1: or wherever you get your podcasts from.
[2:21] Speaker 2: So let's get right to it.
[2:22] Speaker 3: Knicks did the unthinkable in the first two games of
[2:24] Speaker 3: the NBA Finals in San Antonio, stealing game one by
[2:27] Speaker 3: overcoming a 14-point deficit in the second half to get
[2:30] Speaker 3: a 10-point victory and holding on to win game two
[2:32] Speaker 3: after blowing a 14-point fourth quarter lead. Cat led the
[2:36] Speaker 3: Knicks with the second straight double-double, finishing with 21 and
[2:39] Speaker 3: 13 boards, while Jalen Brunson and Mikael Bridges both put
[2:42] Speaker 3: up 20. Wimby had 29 points, nine boards, four blocks,
[2:45] Speaker 3: and four turnovers, the last of which ended up costing
[2:48] Speaker 3: his squad the game Wimby did have a chance for
[2:51] Speaker 3: redemption to even the series, but missed a go-ahead 20-footer
[2:54] Speaker 3: in the final moments as the Knicks got their 13th
[2:56] Speaker 3: straight win, which is the second longest playoff winning streak
[2:59] Speaker 3: in NBA history. New York, the third team in finals
[3:02] Speaker 3: history to win the first two games on the road.
[3:04] Speaker 3: Previous two, the 93 Bulls and 95 Rockets, both went
[3:07] Speaker 3: on to win the chip. Only five teams in finals
[3:09] Speaker 3: history have come back from down 2-0 to win the championship,
[3:12] Speaker 3: but no team has lost the first two finals games
[3:15] Speaker 3: at home and gone on to win the series. Wimby
[3:17] Speaker 3: was asked about being down 2-0 Sunday had this response?
[3:22] Speaker 2: I think the key is acceptance a lot of times.
[3:28] Speaker 6: And taking a step back, realizing all the journey that's
[3:35] Speaker 6: behind us and what's ahead of us. And just being
[3:39] Speaker 6: okay with who I am, where I am, what I'm doing.
[3:43] Speaker 6: I think the other day, This is everything that I
[3:48] Speaker 6: wish for, so there's no reason to really overthink it.
[3:51] Speaker 6: I mean, this is what I'm built for.
[3:57] Speaker 3: Shout out to Wimby for getting the appropriate lineup for
[3:59] Speaker 3: the finals. Game three brought much hype and anticipation with
[4:03] Speaker 3: record-breaking ticket prices and Trump becoming the first sitting president
[4:06] Speaker 3: to attend an NBA finals game. But Wimby proved he
[4:09] Speaker 3: was built for the moment, delivering his best game of
[4:11] Speaker 3: the finals so far to keep the squad in the series.
[4:14] Speaker 3: Let's take a look at the highlights if we can, please.
[4:18] Speaker 3: So Spurs struck first yet again, jumping out to a
[4:22] Speaker 3: seven point lead. San Antonio made nine of their first
[4:25] Speaker 3: 11 shot attempts. Winby had nine points in the quarter
[4:28] Speaker 3: with all four of his field goals coming inside of
[4:32] Speaker 3: the paint. They were doing their thing, ready to go
[4:36] Speaker 3: in the garden. Festive crowd, a lot of celebrities in
[4:38] Speaker 3: the building. San Antonio led by 11 after.
[4:42] Speaker 2: The first frame. Shooting 58% from the field.
[4:45] Speaker 3: 57% from distance. Spurs have held double-digit lead in each
[4:53] Speaker 3: of the first quarters in this series, but Knicks responded
[4:57] Speaker 3: in the second quarter going on a 15-4 run early
[5:00] Speaker 3: to cut the deficit to two, stay within striking distance.
[5:03] Speaker 2: O.J.
[5:03] Speaker 1: Ananobi, Jalen Brunson combined for 21 points.
[5:07] Speaker 2: In the period.
[5:09] Speaker 3: The Knicks captain hitting a three, a little over four
[5:11] Speaker 3: minutes remaining to give his squad their first lead of
[5:15] Speaker 3: the game. They bounce back, OG, corner three's been very
[5:21] Speaker 3: successful for the Knicks in this series. Knicks outscored the
[5:25] Speaker 3: Spurs 42-24 in the second frame, into the half with.
[5:29] Speaker 2: A 10-1 run.
[5:32] Speaker 3: Took a seven point lead into the half, thanks in
[5:34] Speaker 3: large part to plays like that from OG Ananobi. Brunson
[5:42] Speaker 3: hitting the three in Wimby's grill.
[5:46] Speaker 2: Second half a little bit different.
[5:46] Speaker 3: Julian Champagny scores six straight points to open up the
[5:49] Speaker 3: third quarter, cut the deficit to one. Both sides traded
[5:52] Speaker 3: buckets throughout the period to keep the game close. Spurs
[5:55] Speaker 3: went on to take a one-point lead heading into the
[5:57] Speaker 3: fourth quarter. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 32 points
[6:00] Speaker 3: on 11 of 25 shooting, along with five boards, five dimes,
[6:03] Speaker 3: and a game-high five turnovers.
[6:05] Speaker 2: O.J.
[6:05] Speaker 3: Ananobi added 28 points on 9 of 13 shooting. Josh
[6:08] Speaker 3: Hart had 16, 9, and 5 dimes, while Cat had
[6:11] Speaker 3: 11 points and 8 boards on 4 of 10 shooting.
[6:14] Speaker 3: Mikel Bridges battled foul trouble, had his worst game of
[6:16] Speaker 3: the series with two points on one of five shooting
[6:17] Speaker 3: Jordan Clarkson. 10 points off the bench after getting the
[6:20] Speaker 3: DNP in game two. Wimby on the other hand, best
[6:23] Speaker 3: game of the finals, 32 points, 11 of 18 shooting
[6:26] Speaker 3: at eight boards, six assists, three blocks. Second youngest player
[6:29] Speaker 3: with 35 and five in the NBA finals game behind Magic.
[6:32] Speaker 3: Defon Castle at a 23, five and five. Wimby and Castle,
[6:35] Speaker 3: first pair of teammates aged 22 or younger, each scored
[6:38] Speaker 3: 20 plus points in the same finals game. This one
[6:41] Speaker 3: came down to the wire. Spurs had a seven-point lead.
[6:46] Speaker 3: Knicks tried to come back, but you saw De'Aaron Fox
[6:49] Speaker 3: hit that clutch bucket, put San Antonio up five. OG
[6:52] Speaker 3: responded with the three, but Stephon Castle got it done
[6:54] Speaker 3: at the free throw line, knocking down a pair of
[6:57] Speaker 3: clutch free throws to put the game out of reach.
[7:03] Speaker 3: Spurs respond nicely in game three.
[7:09] Speaker 1: Make it 2-1 now. Spurs snap the Knicks' 13-game winning streak.
[7:14] Speaker 1: And in New York, their first loss in the past
[7:16] Speaker 1: 46 days while also snapping a six-game losing streak in
[7:18] Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden. Road team has now won all three
[7:21] Speaker 1: games in this series. Here was a reaction from both
[7:24] Speaker 1: sides after the game.
[7:25] Speaker 2: Do you feel like your team came together tonight in
[7:26] Speaker 2: the face of a rocking MSG crowd? Yes.
[7:37] Speaker 6: At home, it really feels like playing six against five.
[7:42] Speaker 6: And here it feels like playing five against six. And
[7:45] Speaker 6: I agree with Luke. It really shows what teams are
[7:50] Speaker 6: made of.
[7:51] Speaker 7: I think win or lose as a team, our mindset
[7:52] Speaker 7: is always getting better the next day. And so we've
[7:56] Speaker 7: done our best to try and learn from wins over
[7:58] Speaker 7: the past couple weeks. But now we have to learn
[8:02] Speaker 7: from loss. But I think the most important thing is
[8:04] Speaker 7: that we are going to learn regardless because we know
[8:05] Speaker 7: there are things that we're going to have to improve
[8:09] Speaker 7: on going into the next game.
[8:09] Speaker 2: So my mindset stays the same. It seems as though
[8:14] Speaker 2: you may be New York's newest villain. Is that kind
[8:17] Speaker 2: of the ultimate compliment? I guess I'm nowhere near Trae
[8:25] Speaker 2: Young level, though. Nowhere near Trae Young level.
[8:30] Speaker 3: Knicks went 7 for 27 from the field in the
[8:32] Speaker 3: fourth quarter, missing their first 10 threes in the period,
[8:34] Speaker 3: finishing 2 for 14. Brunson, Ogie, and Inouye combined for
[8:37] Speaker 3: 18 points on 6 of 11 shooting in the final frame.
[8:40] Speaker 3: Rest of the Knicks went 1 of 16, 0 for
[8:44] Speaker 3: 10 from distance.
[8:44] Speaker 2: Spurs were not much better.
[8:46] Speaker 3: They shot six for 21 in the fourth, but were
[8:47] Speaker 3: a perfect 10 for 10.
[8:49] Speaker 2: From the line.
[8:50] Speaker 3: Shot 24 free throws in the second half to the Knicks' eighth.
[8:54] Speaker 3: San Antonio scored 21 points off the Knicks' 13 turnovers,
[8:57] Speaker 3: were plus 14 in points off turnovers. Mr. B, we
[9:00] Speaker 3: will start with you, dressed in all black. Biggest takeaways
[9:04] Speaker 3: from the Spurs' Game 3 win over the Knicks in
[9:06] Speaker 3: Madison Square Garden.
[9:09] Speaker 2: Biggest takeaways for me, wouldn't be setting the tone. From
[9:12] Speaker 2: the jump.
[9:14] Speaker 8: His first couple of buckets were in the paint, which
[9:17] Speaker 8: were dunks, and that's how you quiet down the crowd.
[9:20] Speaker 8: I understand that certain people was at the game, but
[9:23] Speaker 8: at the end of the day, this is a basketball game.
[9:26] Speaker 8: This is what you get paid to do. This is
[9:28] Speaker 8: the biggest stage. God could have been in there. Just
[9:30] Speaker 8: find him a seat and let him watch the game,
[9:33] Speaker 8: and you still got to go out there and play.
[9:35] Speaker 2: I'm not going to use that as a distraction. I
[9:37] Speaker 2: think the Knicks played terrible.
[9:39] Speaker 8: They went away from what From the offensive cat, they
[9:44] Speaker 8: were in, I mean, with nine minutes to go in
[9:46] Speaker 8: the fourth quarter, they were already in foul trouble, so
[9:48] Speaker 8: you can't win that way. Ever since, you know, I mean,
[9:53] Speaker 8: all year with the Spurs, I mean, when their back's
[9:55] Speaker 8: against the wall and there's pressures on them, they always
[9:57] Speaker 8: show up, and that's what they do best. So shout
[10:00] Speaker 8: out to Castle. Shout out to D. Fox for hitting
[10:03] Speaker 8: big buckets in the fourth quarter for them. Some of
[10:06] Speaker 8: those they missed in game one and game two. So
[10:08] Speaker 8: this is still a 50-50 series when you look at it.
[10:12] Speaker 8: You know, I know they're down 2-1, but they've been put,
[10:14] Speaker 8: their back's been put against the wall all year, and
[10:17] Speaker 8: they've proven it.
[10:19] Speaker 5: So.
[10:20] Speaker 8: You know, the pressure's back on the Knicks right now
[10:22] Speaker 8: to try to figure things out. So shout out to
[10:24] Speaker 8: those young boys, man.
[10:26] Speaker 3: Spurs have not lost three straight games all season. That
[10:28] Speaker 3: streak continues with that Game 3 win. Kenyon, let's shift
[10:31] Speaker 3: over to you. What were your biggest takeaways? Spurs coming
[10:34] Speaker 3: into Madison Square Garden, all the hype, all the anticipation,
[10:37] Speaker 3: leader of the free world in the building, getting the
[10:39] Speaker 3: dub over the Knicks.
[10:42] Speaker 9: My takeaways are how resilient this young Spurs team came
[10:48] Speaker 9: out in Game 3. backs against the wall, everything not
[10:54] Speaker 9: in their favor, losing the first two games at home,
[10:57] Speaker 9: coming into a difficult environment in Madison Square Garden. A
[11:02] Speaker 9: lot of hoopla, a lot of things that, to B's point,
[11:06] Speaker 9: don't have to do with basketball. A lot of distractions
[11:10] Speaker 9: that could have easily crept into a young locker room.
[11:14] Speaker 9: Shout out to Miss Johnson for keeping those guys focused.
[11:18] Speaker 9: Brandon's point, when we came out and set the tone,
[11:20] Speaker 9: Stephon Castle came out and set the tone, attacking the
[11:22] Speaker 9: rim early. Yeah, and they defended well. They held Cat down. So, yeah, no,
[11:31] Speaker 9: that young Spurs team showed me a lot. A lot
[11:34] Speaker 9: of moxie going into that environment with their season pretty
[11:39] Speaker 9: much on the line, right? Going down three games to nothing,
[11:43] Speaker 9: we know what that leads to. With their season pretty
[11:45] Speaker 9: much on the line to come out and hit the
[11:47] Speaker 9: Knicks in the mouth says a lot about their makeup,
[11:51] Speaker 9: says a lot about their mentality, says a lot about
[11:53] Speaker 9: their coaching and what the rest of this series is
[11:58] Speaker 9: going to look like. However long it goes, they're going
[12:03] Speaker 9: to fight, they're going to compete and that goes a
[12:06] Speaker 9: long way. Each game, like I said before, the adjustments
[12:10] Speaker 9: have to be made good and The things that you
[12:13] Speaker 9: did well, you want to look at those things. The
[12:15] Speaker 9: things that you didn't do so well, you want to
[12:16] Speaker 9: look at those as well. And just continue to go
[12:19] Speaker 9: back to the drawing board for the next game. And
[12:22] Speaker 9: there's no more important game than the next one, right?
[12:26] Speaker 9: I expect them to come out even more focused in
[12:28] Speaker 9: game four. But they did what they had to do
[12:31] Speaker 9: in game three, man. Shout out to the Spurs. The Knicks,
[12:34] Speaker 9: I think, got caught up in all the– Everything that
[12:38] Speaker 9: was going on, we're going back home. We're going to
[12:40] Speaker 9: be comfortable. This is a young team. They won't be
[12:43] Speaker 9: ready to play. And they proved that false. So the
[12:47] Speaker 9: Knicks haven't lost in a while, to Jalen Brunson's point.
[12:51] Speaker 9: They've learned things from wins over the last month. So
[12:55] Speaker 9: now they get to learn something from a loss. So
[12:56] Speaker 9: let's see what they learned. But that young, resilient Spurs
[13:01] Speaker 9: team showed me a lot.
[13:03] Speaker 3: The Knicks, 13 straight wins into this game, hadn't lost
[13:06] Speaker 3: in 45 days heading into this matchup.
[13:08] Speaker 2: Finally took the L. Well, let's shift over to you, Skip.
[13:12] Speaker 3: Your former team, the San Antonio Spurs, tricked off two
[13:16] Speaker 3: games at home. Wimby jumper away from potentially going 1-1
[13:19] Speaker 3: back to Madison Square Garden.
[13:20] Speaker 2: That did not happen.
[13:22] Speaker 3: What do you think about the Spurs waltzing into Madison
[13:24] Speaker 3: Square Garden, getting the dub over the Knicks?
[13:28] Speaker 10: I'm anxious to hear what the newbie Spurs fan has
[13:30] Speaker 10: to say across from me.
[13:32] Speaker 2: Larry.
[13:33] Speaker 10: Yeah, cemetery over there. He's having a day today. But
[13:39] Speaker 10: I still got the Knicks in six. I still got
[13:42] Speaker 10: the Knicks winning game four. And yet, I'm going to
[13:46] Speaker 10: give cemetery this. And I think we've all been calling
[13:51] Speaker 10: for this. I actually saw Victor Wimbinyama last night. play
[13:57] Speaker 10: to seven foot six inches tall he actually woke up
[14:01] Speaker 10: and realized wait I'm seven six maybe I should play
[14:06] Speaker 10: center for one night and he did and I was
[14:09] Speaker 10: impressed as these gentlemen pointed out beautifully from jump he
[14:16] Speaker 10: decided he was going to play in this thing called
[14:19] Speaker 10: paint and he did And he made eight buckets in
[14:25] Speaker 10: the restricted area.
[14:26] Speaker 4: And I was impressed because, you know what? Nobody can
[14:30] Speaker 4: stop him in the restricted area.
[14:32] Speaker 10: If he gets two hands or one hand on the basketball,
[14:35] Speaker 10: it is going down easily because he can dunk flat footed.
[14:41] Speaker 4: So he did that.
[14:43] Speaker 10: He took six threes instead of nine or 12 threes.
[14:46] Speaker 10: And he made a couple of them and they were impressive.
[14:49] Speaker 10: And he made one nice jump shot from about, 22
[14:52] Speaker 10: feet of mid-range, but eight other buckets in the paint,
[14:56] Speaker 10: which also allowed him to get to the free throw
[14:58] Speaker 10: line and make more free throws than anybody else in
[15:00] Speaker 10: the game made, eight out of nine. He is an
[15:03] Speaker 10: extraordinarily good seven foot six inch free throw shooter.
[15:09] Speaker 4: Now to the Knicks.
[15:11] Speaker 10: So I do have a lot of friends who are
[15:13] Speaker 10: Knicks fans, starting with Stephen A. Smith, Keep close touch
[15:16] Speaker 10: with all of the above. My wife, born and raised
[15:19] Speaker 10: in New York City, lifelong Knicks fan. And all I
[15:22] Speaker 10: heard from everybody I know Knicks related over the last
[15:26] Speaker 10: 48 hours was this.
[15:28] Speaker 4: That's all my wife did for 48 hours. Every time
[15:31] Speaker 4: I saw her in the house. She's given me this.
[15:34] Speaker 4: We got this.
[15:35] Speaker 2: Every time? Every time. But not actually clean. But not
[15:40] Speaker 2: actually clean. It was the first.
[15:41] Speaker 4: Time she actually cleaned. No, that's not true.
[15:45] Speaker 2: All right.
[15:48] Speaker 10: But I do believe that building, you two played in
[15:52] Speaker 10: that building, know it well, but I believe it was
[15:56] Speaker 10: the most electric it has ever been in its.
[16:00] Speaker 4: Lengthy history.
[16:02] Speaker 10: Tip-off last night and I believe the pressure and expectation
[16:08] Speaker 10: that all those celebrities and those two ring masters sitting
[16:13] Speaker 10: front and center Eli and Derek Jeter exerted on the
[16:17] Speaker 10: home team was suffocating because the home team has never
[16:21] Speaker 10: felt that kind of pressure in that building at a
[16:24] Speaker 10: moment like that and And it came out, and it
[16:28] Speaker 10: was immediately turned into a bunch of basketball basket cases
[16:32] Speaker 10: to me. Because if you look back at those first
[16:35] Speaker 10: three possessions, Jalen Brunson comes down and misses badly. He's
[16:38] Speaker 10: been missing way too many shots. I'll get to that
[16:40] Speaker 10: in one second. Then here comes Mikael Bridges, and he
[16:45] Speaker 10: just throws it in the third row. I don't know
[16:46] Speaker 10: who he's throwing it to, but you can't do that.
[16:50] Speaker 10: The pressure and expectation wasn't just for the Knicks to
[16:54] Speaker 10: win game three. It was for the Knicks to sweep
[16:57] Speaker 10: the San Antonio Spurs and the Alien.
[17:00] Speaker 4: It was their time, their moment, and here we go.
[17:05] Speaker 10: And there's no way the Knicks were going to be
[17:07] Speaker 10: able to live up to that crowd at that moment.
[17:11] Speaker 4: Next possession, third possession, they come.
[17:12] Speaker 10: Down, and Josh Hart just throws it away, and I'm like,
[17:15] Speaker 10: what are you guys doing, man?
[17:17] Speaker 2: What are you doing?
[17:19] Speaker 4: You've got to have some poise.
[17:21] Speaker 10: You've got to live up to what the crowd, they're
[17:23] Speaker 10: trying to will you, and instead they're suffocating you. The
[17:29] Speaker 10: New York Knicks immediately took the greatest crowd they've ever
[17:33] Speaker 10: had in that building right out of the game.
[17:35] Speaker 4: And I start looking up at the scores early on.
[17:38] Speaker 2: Where do we go?
[17:39] Speaker 4: I wrote down all these scores. All of a sudden, it's.
[17:42] Speaker 10: 14 to 5 and 19 to 9 and 33 to 21.
[17:48] Speaker 4: And I'm saying, come on, stop it.
[17:51] Speaker 10: And they right the ship in the second quarter and
[17:54] Speaker 10: they shake it off. And I say, who are we?
[17:56] Speaker 4: We got to do this.
[17:58] Speaker 10: And they blow the Spurs off the floor in the
[17:59] Speaker 10: second quarter. And it's 42 to 24.
[18:01] Speaker 4: Did you say who are we?
[18:05] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[18:06] Speaker 4: Who are we? We're this team. And then halftime happened.
[18:11] Speaker 10: And if they could have just kept playing or stopped
[18:13] Speaker 10: playing at that point, they would have been just fine.
[18:16] Speaker 10: But no, they had to go sit down at halftime
[18:18] Speaker 10: and think, wait, we.
[18:21] Speaker 4: Have to go do this again? And again?
[18:23] Speaker 10: We got two more quarters? We got to do that
[18:25] Speaker 10: again and again? And to Brandon's point, they played sorry basketball.
[18:31] Speaker 10: The whole second half were just sorry to me. It
[18:34] Speaker 10: was like unwatchable. And then the fourth quarter comes and it,
[18:39] Speaker 10: by the way, in the third quarter, the Spurs immediately
[18:42] Speaker 10: go on a run, a 22 to 12 run and Wimby.
[18:45] Speaker 4: Hit a 30 foot three. And that was it.
[18:47] Speaker 10: That was ball game because they never, they never led
[18:50] Speaker 10: after that, the home team. And In the fourth quarter,
[18:54] Speaker 10: they missed their first 10 three-point shots.
[18:57] Speaker 2: You're going to lose.
[18:58] Speaker 4: I mean, you just, come on, man.
[19:00] Speaker 10: They're 7 of 27 in the fourth quarter, and I
[19:03] Speaker 10: know they hit the two late desperations, and it made
[19:05] Speaker 10: it look a little better than it was. But, man,
[19:10] Speaker 10: when it mattered, Stephon Castle just stepped up. And that
[19:14] Speaker 10: three he made, that was the dagger to me. And he's...
[19:17] Speaker 10: He shot 33% during the regular season from three.
[19:21] Speaker 4: So he's not a very good three-point shooter.
[19:23] Speaker 2: They dared him to shoot.
[19:24] Speaker 4: They dared him, and he made it.
[19:26] Speaker 2: Josh Hart was making that shit, too.
[19:28] Speaker 4: He was.
[19:28] Speaker 10: He had a good night for him. And yet, Stephon
[19:31] Speaker 10: Castle not only ripped that one, but he stepped up
[19:34] Speaker 10: to the free throw line like a man. And those
[19:38] Speaker 10: were as clean as you can make two free throws.
[19:40] Speaker 4: There's no rattling around. They were rip, rip, rip. and
[19:45] Speaker 4: just ripped the heart right out of that crowd. So,
[19:48] Speaker 4: in the end, I still.
[19:49] Speaker 10: i still believe in the knicks congratulations to you for
[19:53] Speaker 10: the day and the night appreciate it you played harder
[19:56] Speaker 10: you played smarter and you you played more great desperate
[20:01] Speaker 10: in that game that's what you did great desperate so
[20:04] Speaker 10: enjoy your day.
[20:06] Speaker 5: I appreciate it man um.
[20:11] Speaker 2: Oscar speech.
[20:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a glorious day. I guess I want to
[20:18] Speaker 1: just start with how both teams came in. And we
[20:23] Speaker 1: can say it looked kind of sloppy. The game kind
[20:26] Speaker 1: of looked like it was going to be a sloppy game.
[20:29] Speaker 1: Game three, very desperate game for both sides because, you know,
[20:33] Speaker 1: as I alluded to before was.
[20:36] Speaker 5: Going down 2-0.
[20:39] Speaker 1: It's important for the Knicks to get the third game.
[20:42] Speaker 1: They can't afford to allow them to come back, get
[20:44] Speaker 1: any momentum. And the way you lose a game three
[20:48] Speaker 1: to tell if it's going to be a game seven
[20:50] Speaker 1: or not is based on you coming in and dominating
[20:53] Speaker 1: the game, majority of the game. And I think that
[20:56] Speaker 1: the Knicks hung in there. First half was good. But
[20:59] Speaker 1: I think once the Spurs got the lead, they starting
[21:02] Speaker 1: to show that they can play with the lead. And
[21:05] Speaker 1: that's important for a team like this. And I like
[21:07] Speaker 1: the fact that they could go out there and protect
[21:10] Speaker 1: the lead on the road and understand that the ref's
[21:13] Speaker 1: not going to take them out of the game.
[21:15] Speaker 5: And Victor showed poise.
[21:16] Speaker 1: I think De'Aaron Fox stepped up and did exactly what
[21:19] Speaker 1: he needed to do at the end of the game.
[21:21] Speaker 1: He was supposed to go in and close it. And
[21:23] Speaker 1: I think the duration of the game, holding Cat under control,
[21:26] Speaker 1: not allowing him to be the passer and the facilitator
[21:29] Speaker 1: that gets them going, Allowing Jalen Brunson to do his
[21:32] Speaker 1: thing but still keep him under control without fouling. OG
[21:36] Speaker 1: stepped up big, but I feel like when OG steps
[21:40] Speaker 1: up big, you.
[21:41] Speaker 2: Know who shrinks?
[21:42] Speaker 5: Mikael Bridges.
[21:44] Speaker 4: Two points.
[21:45] Speaker 5: He shrinks.
[21:45] Speaker 1: When OG has a good game, he seems to not
[21:48] Speaker 1: be the one that steps up to take them over
[21:50] Speaker 1: the top. And for me personally, I think that the
[21:52] Speaker 1: Spurs losing game two by one point, the way they
[21:57] Speaker 1: lost it shows that they should be up 2-1. right
[22:01] Speaker 1: now with an opportunity to take another one in the
[22:05] Speaker 1: next game because I don't see New York being the
[22:07] Speaker 1: dominant team between the two. I think it's them coming
[22:10] Speaker 1: in and stealing this game shows it's like, all right,
[22:12] Speaker 1: we can.
[22:12] Speaker 5: Go do this again.
[22:14] Speaker 1: They didn't show us that we couldn't take this game
[22:16] Speaker 1: from them. And you could say that New York played bad,
[22:19] Speaker 1: but I always say it's a game of runs and
[22:21] Speaker 1: a game of adjustments. So if you're not adjusting in
[22:23] Speaker 1: real time, it's like, all right, Mike Brown, you're going
[22:27] Speaker 1: to pay for this non-adjustment. So the guys that came in,
[22:31] Speaker 1: he adjusted with, didn't really play well. But I think
[22:33] Speaker 1: the Spurs got a little bit of momentum right now
[22:35] Speaker 1: as far as understanding what to do next.
[22:38] Speaker 4: So was that a steal or a win?
[22:40] Speaker 2: It was a win.
[22:40] Speaker 5: You think so? I think it was a steal.
[22:43] Speaker 2: I don't think it was a steal. They outplayed them.
[22:46] Speaker 9: I think game two in San Antonio, the.
[22:50] Speaker 2: Knicks stole that.
[22:51] Speaker 5: They stole that one.
[22:52] Speaker 9: The Spurs won that. The Spurs won. But I'm saying
[22:56] Speaker 9: they stole them. The Spurs won that game. They outplayed them.
[23:01] Speaker 9: They hit them in their mouth. Just the way they
[23:04] Speaker 9: defended Cat. So Cat, you can't allow Devin Vassell.
[23:10] Speaker 5: To guard you and.
[23:12] Speaker 9: To push you off your spot consistently and make you
[23:15] Speaker 9: catch the ball in areas where you got to dribble
[23:18] Speaker 9: against them small guys.
[23:19] Speaker 2: That can't happen.
[23:20] Speaker 9: But They forced the old style of Knicks to rear
[23:27] Speaker 9: their ugly head, where Jalen Brunson has to do it all.
[23:31] Speaker 2: They made him bring it up. They made him take.
[23:34] Speaker 9: I don't know how many dribbles he actually had in
[23:36] Speaker 9: that game yesterday.
[23:37] Speaker 5: It has to be. He didn't pass it.
[23:40] Speaker 1: It has to be over 250, damn near 300 dribbles.
[23:43] Speaker 9: It has to be. They forced that way. They forced
[23:48] Speaker 9: them to play that way. And we all know the
[23:50] Speaker 9: way that looks for the Knicks. That has been their
[23:53] Speaker 9: demise as of late when Jalen has to do all
[23:56] Speaker 9: of that. Let's see what Mike Brown does. And it's
[23:59] Speaker 9: on Cat, too. Like you said, you can't allow those
[24:02] Speaker 9: smalls to guard you. But let's see what adjustments Mike
[24:06] Speaker 9: Brown makes.
[24:08] Speaker 4: May I say to your point? Carl Anthony Towns had
[24:11] Speaker 4: one assist last night. Remember the narrative?
[24:14] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[24:14] Speaker 4: Offense is going to run through. We figured it out.
[24:17] Speaker 4: Now it's going to run through him.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Really? It still can't. But the way they're defending him,
[24:21] Speaker 2: he can see. They went back to it. to the
[24:23] Speaker 2: ISO that old next time. No, it was on cat.
[24:26] Speaker 2: It was on cat, but they back off a lot.
[24:28] Speaker 2: They running plays and trying to get him catches.
[24:30] Speaker 5: He didn't want to shoot.
[24:31] Speaker 9: No, no, but they trying to get him a catch
[24:33] Speaker 9: and where they pushing him off his spot where they
[24:35] Speaker 9: can't run their play that they're calling. They can't run
[24:38] Speaker 9: their play because he letting them dudes be aggressive with
[24:40] Speaker 9: him and him not hold his ground and looking at the.
[24:43] Speaker 2: Ref trying to get the little foul. Get them little
[24:46] Speaker 2: dudes off of you, right? He was ready.
[24:48] Speaker 9: You got to take one, take one, but To make
[24:51] Speaker 9: it obvious how they're trying to play.
[24:55] Speaker 2: Him.
[24:57] Speaker 8: I mean, they really should be up 3-0 if we're
[24:58] Speaker 8: being honest with the Spurs. I mean, if we go
[25:00] Speaker 8: back to game one, they're down by one with two
[25:02] Speaker 8: minutes to go. Game two, they lose at a 10-second shot,
[25:05] Speaker 8: 10 seconds left. Game three, I mean, 30 seconds to go.
[25:09] Speaker 8: It's a three-point game. So, I mean, if we're really
[25:11] Speaker 8: looking at it, that's why I said it's a 50-50 because.
[25:13] Speaker 2: They literally could be up 3-1.
[25:15] Speaker 8: I mean, they're down 2-1 and they– they still have
[25:19] Speaker 8: the momentum more than anything.
[25:20] Speaker 2: Like, you would think it's the other way around.
[25:21] Speaker 8: But after that game last night, it just really showed, like,
[25:24] Speaker 8: game one and game two.
[25:26] Speaker 2: It kind of looked like a little. It's going to
[25:27] Speaker 2: be tough to win game four. No, it's not. I
[25:30] Speaker 2: think it's going to be easier now. I'm saying it's impossible.
[25:35] Speaker 2: It's going to be really tough. I really expect.
[25:38] Speaker 9: I think the Knicks, to Skip's point, I think the
[25:42] Speaker 9: pressure of that game in that building, because they haven't
[25:45] Speaker 9: had a finals game since 99 there, I think they
[25:50] Speaker 9: succumbed to that pressure.
[25:52] Speaker 2: I think they got that out the way.
[25:55] Speaker 9: I believe they will play much better as a team
[25:58] Speaker 9: in game four.
[25:59] Speaker 2: That's when they're going to win.
[26:01] Speaker 9: But it's going to be a much different look for
[26:05] Speaker 9: them in game four, I believe.
[26:07] Speaker 2: Spurs can play well. You showing me this, though.
[26:09] Speaker 1: What you just said is that they show what they
[26:12] Speaker 1: do with pressure at its highest. They shrunk. So think
[26:18] Speaker 1: about us on this side. And the biggest moment for
[26:20] Speaker 1: you to close. This is not a closeout game, but
[26:23] Speaker 1: damn near. It's a deflating punch. It's over for us.
[26:25] Speaker 1: So think about this. That pressure, you shrink. Why would
[26:32] Speaker 1: we feel any kind of anxiety coming back in here again,
[26:37] Speaker 1: knowing you gave this to us? I ain't going to
[26:40] Speaker 1: say it because you said we won it. But think
[26:42] Speaker 1: about that. If y'all had to steal two in San
[26:46] Speaker 1: Antonio for us to be talking about not being 3-0
[26:49] Speaker 1: right now, you had to steal them.
[26:52] Speaker 2: And like you said, we'll give away one.
[26:55] Speaker 1: Game two was stolen based on when we still could
[26:58] Speaker 1: have put that shit away. Still could have did his thing.
[27:00] Speaker 2: Still had a chance to win. Still had a chance
[27:01] Speaker 2: to win.
[27:03] Speaker 1: And I think when we had a terrible first game,
[27:05] Speaker 1: but the jitters of being there and all the emotions
[27:08] Speaker 1: from prior to needed to settle in. But that first
[27:11] Speaker 1: one was still iffy. So now we're like, OK, going
[27:14] Speaker 1: into game four. As a team, if I'm San Antonio,
[27:18] Speaker 1: I'm not looking like we can't go do this and
[27:22] Speaker 1: take this back and let's extend this series so we
[27:25] Speaker 1: can feel comfortable with the balanced playing field. And I
[27:28] Speaker 1: think that's a lot better knowing, like you said, it
[27:31] Speaker 1: ain't going to be easy. It's going to be tough
[27:33] Speaker 1: to get this sport forward. Very, very tough. But what
[27:36] Speaker 1: have we seen this series that make us as hoopers
[27:40] Speaker 1: say it's going to be hard for you to adjust
[27:43] Speaker 1: to what they're doing out there?
[27:45] Speaker 5: We've seen two different adjustments.
[27:46] Speaker 2: You're just getting your shit right now.
[27:48] Speaker 1: I don't think New York played bad more than they
[27:51] Speaker 1: adjusted to putting a smaller on Cat and saying, listen,
[27:54] Speaker 1: we're going to make him.
[27:55] Speaker 2: And then let him roam on the back line. And
[27:58] Speaker 2: we got the black. Which was helpful.
[28:00] Speaker 1: It took him off. It was smart.
[28:03] Speaker 2: Cat was going to kill him.
[28:05] Speaker 9: But like I said, if they do that, Carl Anthony Towns,
[28:08] Speaker 9: you can't allow small to guard you. You got to
[28:11] Speaker 9: duck in hard. You got to force... Whether you got
[28:14] Speaker 9: to run him over one time. I'm just thinking of
[28:19] Speaker 9: when they try to put that small on you, you
[28:21] Speaker 9: have to. But to the Spurs' credit, they went on
[28:25] Speaker 9: the road in the last series in a tough environment
[28:29] Speaker 9: and got games.
[28:30] Speaker 4: They did.
[28:31] Speaker 9: And when people didn't give them a chance in that environment.
[28:34] Speaker 9: So they're battle testing. They're ready for the moment, I believe.
[28:39] Speaker 9: But it's just like that. I do believe that the moment...
[28:43] Speaker 9: was the them young Spurs they just didn't know no
[28:48] Speaker 9: better in game three that we felt listen we know
[28:50] Speaker 9: we down to game we're going to damn what all
[28:52] Speaker 9: going on the president there Jay-Z there they didn't care
[28:57] Speaker 9: right and they went out and displayed it I think
[28:59] Speaker 9: that moment got to the Knicks right just to skip
[29:02] Speaker 9: that pressure of that game.
[29:04] Speaker 2: So that's a big question mark then. I mean, so
[29:06] Speaker 2: what's going to happen in game five? I mean, the
[29:09] Speaker 2: pressure now. And who would step up?
[29:11] Speaker 1: I'm thinking it's just that one game.
[29:13] Speaker 9: They hadn't lost in 13 straight games in the playoffs.
[29:18] Speaker 2: April 23rd was the last loss. Listen, dog. What the fuck?
[29:22] Speaker 9: More teams would do it if it was easy, right?
[29:25] Speaker 9: There's been some dominant teams, even they have lost in
[29:27] Speaker 9: the playoffs, right?
[29:29] Speaker 2: They were bound to lose.
[29:31] Speaker 9: It just so happened this moment and everything that was
[29:34] Speaker 9: going on at that particular time yesterday.
[29:37] Speaker 2: It all came together. Yeah, I can't do that. great recipe.
[29:41] Speaker 2: But the Spurs took the.
[29:43] Speaker 1: I'm not.
[29:43] Speaker 2: Taking anything away from what the Spurs did. Because it's
[29:45] Speaker 2: New York.
[29:46] Speaker 1: I can't roll with it because it's New York. We
[29:50] Speaker 1: used to New York. It ain't been rocking like.
[29:52] Speaker 2: This before, but it's always rocking. It's New York. So
[29:57] Speaker 2: what's going to happen in Game 5? What's going to
[30:02] Speaker 2: happen in game six? Game five back in San Antonio.
[30:07] Speaker 2: Game six, man.
[30:08] Speaker 1: Was this the real New York, though? You talking about
[30:10] Speaker 1: ticket prices, four or five grand to get in the door?
[30:12] Speaker 2: We say the real New York. I'm just saying it
[30:16] Speaker 2: felt like the more elite New York. It's the more elite.
[30:18] Speaker 2: It's like the elite pushed out the real New York.
[30:20] Speaker 2: Trying to take the moment.
[30:22] Speaker 9: You got a hungry team coming in that's down two games, right?
[30:26] Speaker 9: Knowing they need a win. All the bullshit that's going
[30:30] Speaker 9: in there. A really good Spurs team, right? They're in
[30:33] Speaker 9: the finals for a reason. All that with them dudes playing,
[30:37] Speaker 9: the Spurs playing the way they are and all the
[30:38] Speaker 9: bullshit going on. They got punched in the mouth. The
[30:41] Speaker 9: Knicks got punched in the mouth. It was a lot
[30:44] Speaker 9: going on in the building. Rhythm throwing off, security shit.
[30:48] Speaker 9: It was just... And like I said, the Spurs did
[30:52] Speaker 9: what they wanted to do in that game. They came
[30:54] Speaker 9: out and played aggressive from the tip, right? And they
[30:58] Speaker 9: earned that win. They went there and they fucking hit
[31:01] Speaker 9: the Knicks in their mouth.
[31:02] Speaker 2: They did.
[31:03] Speaker 1: I'm not taking anything off their plate, but the Knicks
[31:05] Speaker 1: succumbed to everything with the Spurs head going on the floor.
[31:10] Speaker 1: It's just a recipe for them to.
[31:13] Speaker 2: Get out of play. Scouting report, right? Silence the noise. Yeah.
[31:18] Speaker 1: Just like respond to the run. When they make the run,
[31:23] Speaker 1: you need to respond. Drown out the noise.
[31:26] Speaker 2: Yes. You can't drown out the noise. You're going to
[31:30] Speaker 2: get sucked up in.
[31:30] Speaker 1: All that energy that's whirling in there with all the
[31:33] Speaker 1: celebrities and they're talking to you and all that. But
[31:36] Speaker 1: I look at executing the scouting report from a different
[31:39] Speaker 1: perspective would be understanding that they are not bigger than
[31:44] Speaker 1: the moment either. They're not bigger than this moment. Jalen
[31:47] Speaker 1: Brunson's not bigger than this moment. He could miss that shot.
[31:50] Speaker 1: It's all primed and set for everyone to succeed in
[31:53] Speaker 1: this high-pressure moment, yet The young team that Mitch Johnson
[31:58] Speaker 1: had them understand that executing the game plan is most
[32:01] Speaker 1: important than anything. Then freestyling, pushing it ahead, Fox and
[32:06] Speaker 1: y'all just go quick shot.
[32:08] Speaker 2: Calm down.
[32:09] Speaker 1: This is time where we now need to prove that
[32:11] Speaker 1: we can be here in the moment and thrive in it.
[32:14] Speaker 4: And take care of the basketball.
[32:15] Speaker 1: De'Aaron Fox. Give him the ball. Let him do his thing.
[32:19] Speaker 1: Crunch time. Big time shots. But this is the same
[32:22] Speaker 1: type of shot Jalen Brunson hit the game before. When
[32:25] Speaker 1: he closed it out. So you look at them putting
[32:28] Speaker 1: it in Fox's hands, it's good for the San Antonio Spurs.
[32:32] Speaker 1: But my thing is Mike Brown, understanding what to do
[32:35] Speaker 1: in those defensive moments, those matchup moments.
[32:39] Speaker 2: And he's the best defender on it. I'm just talking
[32:43] Speaker 2: about offensively.
[32:44] Speaker 1: You guys got to get the ball back, and you
[32:46] Speaker 1: got to score, and you're going to play hero ball
[32:49] Speaker 1: to get the three, or are you going to play?
[32:51] Speaker 2: A lot of rush days. Yeah, a lot of bad possession.
[32:54] Speaker 1: You got Landry Sherman going like one for seven, one
[32:56] Speaker 1: for eight for three guys that traditionally knock those shots down.
[32:58] Speaker 2: That foul trouble when they was in foul trouble or not, man? Yeah,
[33:00] Speaker 2: that shit right there, right?
[33:02] Speaker 9: Me and B was sitting in the woods watching like,
[33:06] Speaker 9: They was in the penalty with them in nine minutes
[33:08] Speaker 9: to go in the quarter, man.
[33:09] Speaker 2: In the fourth quarter. Yeah, your aggressiveness is done. Yeah,
[33:12] Speaker 2: that's a kill. And you used all your … But
[33:15] Speaker 2: they were successful, though, the challenges. But you used them all.
[33:18] Speaker 2: You needed them.
[33:19] Speaker 1: So after that, you could have used them down the
[33:22] Speaker 1: line on certain fouls and certain plays.
[33:24] Speaker 2: The win before point play that gets taken away. I mean,
[33:26] Speaker 2: it was ….
[33:26] Speaker 9: Yeah, the challenges they used, they were successful. You used
[33:29] Speaker 9: them in the fourth quarter. Both of them were successful.
[33:32] Speaker 9: But them not being able to play defense fully because
[33:38] Speaker 9: they're in foul trouble definitely hampered them.
[33:40] Speaker 2: It still was a very winnable game. They were down three.
[33:43] Speaker 2: They had to fight. 114, 111.
[33:47] Speaker 9: Still, they had a chance. But with all that going on. But, yeah,
[33:53] Speaker 9: we have a series now.
[33:54] Speaker 10: So let me say this about Jalen Brunson. He obviously
[33:58] Speaker 10: has a huge heart.
[34:01] Speaker 4: Great player. great guts.
[34:06] Speaker 10: He came close last night in the fourth quarter to
[34:08] Speaker 10: willing that team across the finish line. But to your point,
[34:15] Speaker 10: he's getting worse and worse at dribbling the air out
[34:19] Speaker 10: of the basketball against the Spurs. Not in the previous rounds,
[34:23] Speaker 10: because he did manage in the previous rounds, even during
[34:27] Speaker 10: the regular season, to keep his shot attempts down to
[34:32] Speaker 10: where they could play winning five-man offense basketball. And he's
[34:39] Speaker 10: averaging 40% usage rate in these first three games. It's
[34:43] Speaker 10: way too high because it's just this, just dribbling, dribbling, dribbling,
[34:48] Speaker 10: until it's just hard to watch because Stephon Castle is
[34:53] Speaker 10: hard to get by. He is really, really difficult to,
[34:58] Speaker 10: He was hard on SGA in the preview. He wears
[35:01] Speaker 10: you down and finally wears you out mentally and physically
[35:05] Speaker 10: over 48 minutes because you're having a hard time just
[35:08] Speaker 10: getting it across half court against him.
[35:10] Speaker 4: So then you say, I'll figure it out. I'll do this.
[35:13] Speaker 4: I'll do that. They come picking.
[35:14] Speaker 10: He's still dribbling, dribbling, dribbling. And then he's going to
[35:18] Speaker 10: shoot it. And look at, here's what. Jalen Brunson, during
[35:23] Speaker 10: the regular season, averaged making nine out of 20 shots.
[35:26] Speaker 10: That was his whole regular season, nine out of 20.
[35:28] Speaker 10: Then against Atlanta, he made 10 of 21, about in
[35:32] Speaker 10: the same ballpark. Philly, 10 of 20 was his average
[35:36] Speaker 10: of makes and attempts, 10 of 20. And then against Cleveland,
[35:40] Speaker 10: 10 of 20. So he stayed right on par. Guess
[35:44] Speaker 10: what he is through three games? He's 10 of 27
[35:48] Speaker 10: attempts a game. So it's gone completely. He's missing 17
[35:52] Speaker 10: shots a game.
[35:53] Speaker 2: 37% from the field.
[35:55] Speaker 4: It's a lot of shots, man.
[35:57] Speaker 10: If you're going to miss 17 a game, you remember
[36:01] Speaker 10: you didn't do that even in high school. You're going
[36:04] Speaker 10: to take that many, but you're going to make closer
[36:06] Speaker 10: to 50% of your shots.
[36:08] Speaker 4: And it's killing... Their flow, they don't have much flow.
[36:13] Speaker 10: And Mikkel Bridges, they actually weirdly go as he goes.
[36:17] Speaker 4: And if you look at his numbers in their wins
[36:19] Speaker 4: in the postseason, he's 16-4-8. I'm sorry, 4-3. And then
[36:23] Speaker 4: in the losses, he's 4-2-2. So if he doesn't contribute.
[36:31] Speaker 4: They have a hard time.
[36:32] Speaker 10: And last night, he wasn't part of the offense because
[36:36] Speaker 10: Jalen Brunson is doing this, and then he just disappears.
[36:39] Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out which one is better, with
[36:42] Speaker 1: him off the floor or with him on the floor.
[36:45] Speaker 2: Bridges?
[36:46] Speaker 5: Brunson.
[36:47] Speaker 2: Oh, Brunson.
[36:47] Speaker 5: Brunson's off the floor. Cat's playing the primary.
[36:50] Speaker 2: The primary guy. He's the primary guy. They do have
[36:53] Speaker 2: a lot more fluidity.
[36:54] Speaker 4: Well, they have surges with Alvarado.
[36:55] Speaker 2: They have surges.
[36:56] Speaker 1: But they start the game with Cat. But they don't
[36:58] Speaker 1: have that. Down six seconds coming down on the shot clock.
[37:03] Speaker 1: I need to get my shot from a player that's
[37:05] Speaker 1: going to give us a good shot.
[37:06] Speaker 4: But it's hard to tell.
[37:07] Speaker 8: They're taking it out of Cat's hand, like he said.
[37:09] Speaker 8: They're taking it out of Cat's hand. Like he said,
[37:10] Speaker 8: Weston ain't got the ball so much. Remember, they were winning.
[37:12] Speaker 8: Cat was averaging six, eight, seven assists. Start the offense
[37:15] Speaker 8: with him. Let everybody get some touches.
[37:18] Speaker 10: But it's hard for a great player, and he is
[37:19] Speaker 10: a great player. The mentality is... I'm going to do
[37:23] Speaker 10: this for New York. I got this because I'm the
[37:26] Speaker 10: driving force of this team, literally. And it's hard for
[37:30] Speaker 10: him to sit back and say, I got to do
[37:32] Speaker 10: less on offense, right? I got to get rid of
[37:36] Speaker 10: the ball quicker on offense. And it'll still come back
[37:39] Speaker 10: to me enough that I can get my shots and
[37:41] Speaker 10: my points.
[37:42] Speaker 4: But it's hard.
[37:44] Speaker 10: It's almost like the old Jordan thing with the you've
[37:48] Speaker 10: got to get the other four somewhat involved or you
[37:52] Speaker 10: can't beat a good team.
[37:53] Speaker 2: Well, that's why the triangle game. Yeah, the triangle.
[37:56] Speaker 1: And it's a part of being a good player is
[37:58] Speaker 1: knowing when to get the other guys involved and when
[38:00] Speaker 1: to break the offense. So if your cat Brunson's out,
[38:04] Speaker 1: the one thing we know at San Antonio is they've
[38:06] Speaker 1: got one outlet. So if we compress Carl Anthony Towns
[38:11] Speaker 1: for this outlet, they're forced to go to O.G., They're
[38:14] Speaker 1: forced to go to McBride and Shamit to be primary
[38:19] Speaker 1: shot makers and shot takers. So when Brunson's out and
[38:22] Speaker 1: I'm watching, I'm just like, man, they look like they're struggling,
[38:25] Speaker 1: but they're not. They actually execute, get a shot off,
[38:28] Speaker 1: but it's not the high efficiency, high percentage shot that
[38:31] Speaker 1: Brunson takes where he knows he gets his spot. So
[38:33] Speaker 1: they look kind of off-kilter when he's off the floor.
[38:36] Speaker 1: Then you take Cat off the floor. You put Mitchell
[38:39] Speaker 1: Robinson in. Now you've got more of a defensive dominant.
[38:43] Speaker 1: It's McBride, Shaman, maybe Clarkson, OG, and Mitchell Robinson. Now
[38:48] Speaker 1: that's just not a lot of offense on the floor.
[38:51] Speaker 1: So if you've got Wimby on the floor with that lineup,
[38:54] Speaker 1: we benefit because you're not going to come down and
[38:57] Speaker 1: kill us offensively. But if we switch that up and
[39:00] Speaker 1: we bring in Castle, Vassell, Johnson and Harper, and then
[39:06] Speaker 1: you bring in Brunson and Cat. Now it's a whole
[39:08] Speaker 1: different game, but we still up. Our athleticism, our youth,
[39:12] Speaker 1: all of those things contribute to us. That's why I
[39:14] Speaker 1: don't think New York is going to give much of
[39:17] Speaker 1: a pushback on this next game because they figured out
[39:20] Speaker 1: that this is all you guys got. You guys stole
[39:22] Speaker 1: two at our home based on us not being ready
[39:26] Speaker 1: for the moment. And now that we know what the
[39:28] Speaker 1: moment is, we get back to base. I think they
[39:31] Speaker 1: get back to basics at this point.
[39:32] Speaker 8: I think they're just calm now. I'm just going in
[39:36] Speaker 8: game four just like they said. I'm chilling just like
[39:39] Speaker 8: that now at this point. Because we saw how big
[39:42] Speaker 8: it can get. It can't get no bigger than this.
[39:44] Speaker 8: I don't care who y'all bringing here now. So if
[39:47] Speaker 8: it's going to get this big and that, so now
[39:49] Speaker 8: it don't even matter who you bring in here now.
[39:51] Speaker 1: I don't think that matters to the Spurs at all. Like,
[39:54] Speaker 1: that didn't register on their radar on who was going
[39:56] Speaker 1: to be there and what was going to be happening.
[39:59] Speaker 9: They knew they needed a game. They knew how they
[40:01] Speaker 9: needed to go in there and play. They willed that game.
[40:04] Speaker 9: They went in there and, like I said, hit the
[40:06] Speaker 9: Knicks in the mouth. So I don't think that's even.
[40:10] Speaker 2: No, I'm talking about for the Knicks it is. For
[40:11] Speaker 2: the Knicks it is. I mean, for the– Take them
[40:13] Speaker 2: out in game four. You're getting your real crowd back,
[40:16] Speaker 2: I feel like, though. Yeah.
[40:18] Speaker 9: All the bullshit over. Yeah, all the bullshit over. You
[40:20] Speaker 9: think so?
[40:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, all the bullshit over.
[40:24] Speaker 1: It's more celebrities in line that didn't even get to
[40:26] Speaker 1: get into that game.
[40:27] Speaker 2: Security perimeter about Madison. They just ain't got to wait
[40:30] Speaker 2: as long. That's all. Security perimeter about Madison.
[40:33] Speaker 1: You got the real fans getting pushed to Central Park,
[40:35] Speaker 1: getting pushed to Brooklyn. Y'all can't even be over here
[40:37] Speaker 1: right now.
[40:37] Speaker 2: That's crazy. You can't bring a bag up in here.
[40:40] Speaker 2: The pressure is you see.
[40:41] Speaker 9: The streets leading up to when like come on man
[40:42] Speaker 9: right before the game the streets is dead leading up to.
[40:45] Speaker 4: I guess yeah, it's their lockdown.
[40:48] Speaker 9: Get locked down could people couldn't give them certain a Vicinity.
[40:51] Speaker 2: Of the ring they have to win game for it.
[40:53] Speaker 1: That's too much both teams.
[40:54] Speaker 2: It's a must win.
[40:55] Speaker 1: For some most win for sure I mean, you can't
[40:58] Speaker 1: go down 31 if you disperse.
[40:59] Speaker 9: And And the Knicks, you can't allow them to come
[41:02] Speaker 9: in on your home floor and get both games. But
[41:05] Speaker 9: it's not a panic for the Knicks' own thing.
[41:07] Speaker 1: I think it goes back to, all right, now we
[41:09] Speaker 1: both can recalibrate and come back to this 2-2.
[41:11] Speaker 9: Going back to San Antonio, then, not the worst thing,
[41:14] Speaker 9: but they don't want that.
[41:16] Speaker 2: Trust me.
[41:17] Speaker 9: You don't want to get that team momentum going back
[41:19] Speaker 9: home for game three and being able to possibly go
[41:21] Speaker 9: down 3-2.
[41:22] Speaker 1: So I feel it's a must win for both teams.
[41:26] Speaker 2: Game seven in San Antonio.
[41:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a must win. It's a must win for
[41:30] Speaker 1: both teams.
[41:30] Speaker 3: Still a young squad, but Skip, back to what you
[41:32] Speaker 3: were saying about Brunson, shooting 37% from the field in
[41:35] Speaker 3: the series, but really I think it's a first three
[41:36] Speaker 3: quarters issue because in the fourth quarter, averaging 11 points
[41:39] Speaker 3: per game, 48-48, five splits.
[41:41] Speaker 2: Got you too much the first three.
[41:43] Speaker 1: But, you know, I mean, I think, but now you
[41:44] Speaker 1: run the risk. Now, if I don't deliver in the fourth.
[41:47] Speaker 5: What's the fourth? What's the fourth percentage?
[41:48] Speaker 2: 48.
[41:49] Speaker 3: 48 from the field, 40 from three, and then 86
[41:52] Speaker 3: from the free throw line.
[41:53] Speaker 10: 48-48.
[41:53] Speaker 1: 48, 40, 86. I would rather that be 50. Because
[41:58] Speaker 1: it's the fourth quarter, it needs to be higher. But
[42:01] Speaker 1: those first three, 48 from three?
[42:04] Speaker 2: No, 48 from the field. Oh, 40 from three. For him,
[42:08] Speaker 2: that's great.
[42:09] Speaker 1: Just for it being in the fourth quarter, all four,
[42:15] Speaker 1: I need because that efficiency for the fourth quarter and
[42:19] Speaker 1: you're taking all the shots, it's got to be you
[42:22] Speaker 1: got to give us 55, 60%.
[42:25] Speaker 5: Because we're depending on you to get all the shots.
[42:27] Speaker 1: I hear you, but that's a tall ask for a
[42:29] Speaker 1: jump shooter. I mean, that's what happened last night. For
[42:33] Speaker 1: a 6'1 jump shooter, that's a tall ask.
[42:36] Speaker 2: And he hit the 1'3.
[42:37] Speaker 5: In the fourth.
[42:38] Speaker 3: But him and O.G. holding it down. Second quarter, I
[42:40] Speaker 3: think 21 points combined. Fourth quarter, what, 18 combined, 6
[42:44] Speaker 3: of 11 shooting the rest of the team.
[42:45] Speaker 1: 1 of 16. It's O.G. and Jalen showed up. 0
[42:48] Speaker 1: for 10 from 3, I'm just saying.
[42:49] Speaker 9: Mikael Bridges got in foul trouble early. He had two
[42:52] Speaker 9: quick fouls. He messed up his rhythm. He never got
[42:54] Speaker 9: a chance to get in the rhythm. Jordan Clarkson came
[42:57] Speaker 9: off the bench and played well. McBride didn't give him anything.
[43:00] Speaker 9: That bad-ass shot he took on the wing. I was
[43:03] Speaker 9: talking about getting him the hell out of the game, man.
[43:06] Speaker 1: Three possessions in a row. He took one. Jay LeBron
[43:10] Speaker 1: took one. Cat took a 37-footer from the left wing.
[43:13] Speaker 2: What are we supposed to be looking for in Alvarado? Energy. Energy.
[43:17] Speaker 2: Just come in there. He took the bad one. Harder
[43:20] Speaker 2: New York. It was Alvarado, McBride, and Cat.
[43:24] Speaker 9: Three possessions in a row, and they got some good
[43:26] Speaker 9: out of the third because it was an offensive rebound.
[43:28] Speaker 1: Jalen got the offensive rebound. He put it back in,
[43:31] Speaker 1: but it was bad possessions in a row.
[43:33] Speaker 2: But energy. Are they playing too many guys? I feel
[43:36] Speaker 2: like the Knicks are playing too many guys. Yes. But
[43:39] Speaker 2: he had to the other day. He need a solid eight.
[43:41] Speaker 5: You need a solid eight for sure.
[43:43] Speaker 2: You need a solid eight. Ten guys. He played ten guys.
[43:45] Speaker 1: He got a fair because throwing Jordan out there whenever
[43:48] Speaker 1: you think he going to cut it on.
[43:49] Speaker 2: DNP then.
[43:50] Speaker 1: You can't do that.
[43:51] Speaker 2: I mean, because he good enough to go out there
[43:53] Speaker 2: and give you what he going to give you. I
[43:54] Speaker 2: think it's either Jordan or McBride. I don't.
[43:57] Speaker 9: It's because you know Larry Shaman wasn't making shots. You
[43:58] Speaker 9: got to make a decision with them too. Larry wasn't
[44:01] Speaker 9: making shots. So then you got to try Jordan. I
[44:03] Speaker 9: think that's why Jordan got as much burn as he
[44:05] Speaker 9: did yesterday. Because Larry Shaman wasn't making shots.
[44:07] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[44:08] Speaker 9: McBride wouldn't give you nothing. McBride is a defender. I
[44:11] Speaker 9: think McBride role need to be more defined. Like you
[44:14] Speaker 9: need to be picking up full court, 94 feet. Being
[44:18] Speaker 9: a pass, you get an open look, take it. But
[44:20] Speaker 9: I don't need you out here forcing three.
[44:22] Speaker 5: Trying to play.
[44:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't need you. Because he can play. I
[44:24] Speaker 2: think he's good. They got him off the leash. But
[44:27] Speaker 2: you need to.
[44:28] Speaker 5: They got him off the leash.
[44:29] Speaker 2: Because he can play when he does play well. He's
[44:31] Speaker 2: a really in young fella. Kind of like Peyton Pritchard
[44:34] Speaker 2: a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because he can get
[44:36] Speaker 2: it going and he can shoot you out of it. Yeah,
[44:38] Speaker 2: he can shoot you out of it. Both ways, so.
[44:41] Speaker 2: Go ahead.
[44:43] Speaker 9: I'm just thinking Mitchell Robinson, what is he? I understand
[44:46] Speaker 9: you got to give Cat a blow.
[44:49] Speaker 1: He gets offensive rebounds. He puts pressure on them. He
[44:52] Speaker 1: fouls pressure on them.
[44:56] Speaker 9: Do you need to play him and Cat together a
[44:59] Speaker 9: little bit?
[45:00] Speaker 2: Switch some shit up so he can.
[45:02] Speaker 1: Cat has to then be aggressive offensively. He has to
[45:06] Speaker 1: at least shoot the ball.
[45:07] Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
[45:09] Speaker 1: Because he's not even going to target practice. He's not
[45:11] Speaker 1: even shooting the ball on the turn. He's not catching
[45:15] Speaker 1: and trying to be triple threat.
[45:17] Speaker 4: Another 0 for 2 from 3.
[45:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, and he shoots it.
[45:20] Speaker 1: He wants to make sure it goes in before he
[45:22] Speaker 1: can start filling and going.
[45:24] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[45:25] Speaker 5: And that's the bad thing about him.
[45:26] Speaker 1: He's too good to not just get the ball in
[45:28] Speaker 1: the post and just try to get a foul.
[45:30] Speaker 2: Then that's another thing, too. Like.
[45:33] Speaker 9: He made some aggressive plays at the rim. He, he
[45:37] Speaker 9: barking on people and like, we need more of that.
[45:40] Speaker 9: Like the fans that like your, your team, not the,
[45:42] Speaker 9: now we, your team need more of that from you.
[45:45] Speaker 9: That energy that you displayed on a couple of and
[45:47] Speaker 9: one that you thought you had, they didn't call the file.
[45:49] Speaker 2: You, you screaming at.
[45:51] Speaker 1: The dudes, like your team need that energy.
[45:53] Speaker 2: From you more. Um, and if you do that, then you,
[45:57] Speaker 2: then you want the ball more.
[45:58] Speaker 9: You're going to do what it takes to get the ball.
[46:00] Speaker 2: You know?
[46:01] Speaker 9: So it's, Exert yourself even more in that end. We
[46:05] Speaker 9: know what you have to do and try to compete
[46:07] Speaker 9: defensively with win being. If you got a smaller that
[46:10] Speaker 9: we understand that. But your team needs you to be
[46:12] Speaker 9: aggressive offensive in order to have a chance to win
[46:15] Speaker 9: this series.
[46:16] Speaker 10: So we have talked and talked and talked about how
[46:18] Speaker 10: great your Spurs were last night. But there were two,
[46:21] Speaker 10: I'll call them minor positive developments for the Knicks in
[46:24] Speaker 10: the fourth quarter, I thought. Wimby was really good until
[46:28] Speaker 10: the five-minute mark in the fourth quarter, and he had
[46:31] Speaker 10: two free throws that put them up eight, 108 to 100,
[46:33] Speaker 10: and then he didn't score down the last five minutes
[46:37] Speaker 10: of the game. So that's a plus for the Knicks.
[46:40] Speaker 10: They didn't let him just wipe them out down the stretch,
[46:44] Speaker 10: and so they hung in the game because Dylan Harper,
[46:48] Speaker 10: and I know we've talked a lot about Dylan Harper,
[46:51] Speaker 10: Mitch played him 11 minutes of the fourth quarter, and
[46:54] Speaker 10: he went 0 for 5. And he missed two big
[46:57] Speaker 10: shots that could have just been daggers down the stretch
[47:00] Speaker 10: in the last two minutes. He took two threes and
[47:03] Speaker 10: missed both of them that allowed the Knicks a little
[47:07] Speaker 10: bit of life. So 0 for 5, he played to
[47:11] Speaker 10: his age in the fourth quarter. But he also, in
[47:14] Speaker 10: the first three quarters, he made two or three shots
[47:16] Speaker 10: at the rim where you're just.
[47:17] Speaker 4: Like, God, that's... That's gift, man. That's like, wow.
[47:22] Speaker 2: Harper, five of 18 in the game.
[47:24] Speaker 4: Five of 18.
[47:25] Speaker 2: Same amount of attempts as Wimby in that game.
[47:27] Speaker 1: He was aggressive.
[47:30] Speaker 2: Good with the bag.
[47:31] Speaker 4: No conscience.
[47:31] Speaker 2: You're going to play well one game, but you're going
[47:34] Speaker 2: to get an effort. You're learning.
[47:36] Speaker 9: Listen, there's no better than on-the-job training. You're on the
[47:41] Speaker 9: biggest stage.
[47:44] Speaker 5: You got to take it.
[47:45] Speaker 2: I'm just looking at him from optics.
[47:48] Speaker 1: Like he is really good. And there's no reason not
[47:51] Speaker 1: to have him in the game. Even 0 for 5.
[47:53] Speaker 1: You got to look at how that 0 for 5 looked.
[47:56] Speaker 5: It was energetic. It was aggressive. To the rim.
[47:59] Speaker 4: No fear.
[48:00] Speaker 1: And the two threes that he's missed, like he still,
[48:03] Speaker 1: I consider him a dependable three-point shooter. With the ability
[48:08] Speaker 1: to miss, not because he's young. It's because he's still
[48:11] Speaker 1: trying to get that energy going to be consistent.
[48:14] Speaker 2: But he hits big shots. Just like Castle hit a
[48:16] Speaker 2: big shot. To close out.
[48:18] Speaker 1: And we know he's not that great of a three-point shooter.
[48:21] Speaker 1: But to have that kind of confidence.
[48:23] Speaker 2: So you took it.
[48:23] Speaker 1: Man, man, missed a big shot, man. You got to
[48:26] Speaker 1: go and take the moment. So I think having he
[48:29] Speaker 1: played Fox, Harper, Castle, Vassell, and Wimby on the floor.
[48:35] Speaker 1: And they were scrambling. And it looked, at that moment
[48:38] Speaker 1: for me, I was like, all right, I don't know
[48:40] Speaker 1: how I feel about Fox in there. Because, you know,
[48:44] Speaker 1: Brunson's hunting out.
[48:46] Speaker 2: Who the weakest defender is.
[48:47] Speaker 1: And I'm saying in the moment also, like, nah, because
[48:50] Speaker 1: he's smart enough to get in the gaps and play
[48:52] Speaker 1: good defense when it comes down.
[48:53] Speaker 2: To the team.
[48:54] Speaker 4: Well, you loved him at 12 seconds left.
[48:55] Speaker 2: Didn't you?
[48:56] Speaker 5: You had to. My gosh.
[48:57] Speaker 4: That was big time.
[48:59] Speaker 2: Get down.
[48:59] Speaker 1: But Dylan will be all right. I think Dylan will
[49:01] Speaker 1: be all right. You need him in those moments because
[49:03] Speaker 1: he made things happen.
[49:05] Speaker 5: He's athletic.
[49:06] Speaker 1: See that dunk he had was just crazy for a
[49:09] Speaker 1: 6'6 point guard to do that kind of– that's.
[49:10] Speaker 5: Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose type shit.
[49:13] Speaker 1: So I love– The fact that he's available down the stretch,
[49:16] Speaker 1: giving more confidence. Him and guys like Carter Bryant, those
[49:20] Speaker 1: guys got too much ability not to have confidence to
[49:23] Speaker 1: be the end down the stretch and affect the game.
[49:24] Speaker 1: Because Kelton Johnson is going to be there, but you
[49:27] Speaker 1: keep throwing him. Finally, but he's still 17 minutes. I
[49:31] Speaker 1: know he won't be in there in the mud with them.
[49:35] Speaker 1: So it's like trying to figure out when he's going
[49:37] Speaker 1: to play good. You got about eight, nine guys, so
[49:40] Speaker 1: you got to figure it out.
[49:41] Speaker 3: Let's talk about the main guy on San Antonio. Wimby
[49:44] Speaker 3: took a lot of heat for the Spurs game two loss.
[49:47] Speaker 3: Obviously had those miscues late in the game, responded with
[49:49] Speaker 3: the best game in the series.
[49:52] Speaker 2: He's averaging 29 points.
[49:53] Speaker 3: 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, nearly two steals per
[49:58] Speaker 3: game in the series.
[49:59] Speaker 2: But what did Wimby show you in game three?
[50:05] Speaker 9: He was ready for the moment. The moment wasn't too
[50:08] Speaker 9: big for him. He understood the magnitude of this game.
[50:15] Speaker 9: Team can't go down in three games.
[50:17] Speaker 2: 3-0.
[50:19] Speaker 9: And he came out and willed his team to a win, man.
[50:23] Speaker 2: He showed a lot.
[50:24] Speaker 1: He grew up.
[50:25] Speaker 9: He grew up a lot from the he took ownership
[50:28] Speaker 9: from the turnover in game two.
[50:31] Speaker 2: So he messed up.
[50:32] Speaker 9: So for you to take ownership in that and to
[50:35] Speaker 9: be able to not let that affect you in the
[50:38] Speaker 9: next game at such a young age. Says a lot
[50:41] Speaker 9: about his mental makeup. And he came out and displayed
[50:44] Speaker 9: it in game three.
[50:47] Speaker 1: I'm just glad we got that over with. It's going
[50:50] Speaker 1: to be a lot of shit talking in here. We
[50:53] Speaker 1: the win down 3-0. I was already preparing my obituary
[50:57] Speaker 1: and the whole nine. Yeah, they was going to be
[51:00] Speaker 1: ready to bury me. It's in the bush. It's in
[51:03] Speaker 1: the bush. Let me send this in early so y'all
[51:06] Speaker 1: know I'm okay with it. But we bounce back, goddamn.
[51:09] Speaker 2: We, we. Shit, we bounce back, goddamn. We resilient, man.
[51:13] Speaker 1: Wimby, hey, one thing I always say, whether it's me
[51:16] Speaker 1: cheering for the Spurs or the Knicks, Wimby's always been
[51:20] Speaker 1: my guy. He can play on whatever team, New Orleans,
[51:23] Speaker 1: it don't matter. Green Bay Packers, I'm Wimby. Wimby on
[51:26] Speaker 1: the package.
[51:27] Speaker 2: I'm Wimby. Lock and field goal. Oh, kick and field goal.
[51:31] Speaker 1: But shit, I mean, Wimby's been doing everything that we
[51:35] Speaker 1: see his potential can provide for us. We watching good basketball.
[51:40] Speaker 1: That's really what all I really care about is watching
[51:43] Speaker 1: good hoop. And you look at how Wimby's been preparing
[51:48] Speaker 1: for these moments. It's like we set such a precedent
[51:52] Speaker 1: for a guy that this much potential that when he
[51:54] Speaker 1: doesn't perform, to our likes that we got to criticize it.
[51:59] Speaker 1: And that's with everybody. I think we did. We've done
[52:01] Speaker 1: it with Brian. We've done it with Cole. We've done
[52:03] Speaker 1: it with everybody down the line. If you don't perform
[52:06] Speaker 1: to the highest of what we have, as far as
[52:09] Speaker 1: your expectations, we're going to, we're going to criticize you.
[52:12] Speaker 1: So after game one, we expect the criticism game two,
[52:16] Speaker 1: you fucked up.
[52:17] Speaker 2: It's your fault.
[52:17] Speaker 1: And he took the blame. So we accept that criticism
[52:21] Speaker 1: game three. I can't afford, I can't afford that again.
[52:24] Speaker 1: So knowing that you got to show up and not
[52:27] Speaker 1: just show that you're ready for the moment, but show
[52:29] Speaker 1: you can still provide for your teammates and still get
[52:32] Speaker 1: them involved. And I think that was good for him.
[52:34] Speaker 1: But this next game is going to have to be
[52:36] Speaker 1: another repeat. Like, it's got to be 35-40. You got
[52:40] Speaker 1: to go in there with confidence. You can't defer. And
[52:42] Speaker 1: if it's not one of those 40 games, it's one
[52:46] Speaker 1: of those 22-25, 14, five blocks where everyone's eating and
[52:52] Speaker 1: we can win as a team, but It's always Team Wimby, man.
[52:55] Speaker 2: We, we, we.
[53:00] Speaker 10: Look, I still think this still very young man looks
[53:09] Speaker 10: in the mirror and he sees a two guard. That's
[53:12] Speaker 10: who he wants to be and that's what he enjoys doing.
[53:15] Speaker 10: He gets way more pleasure out of making a three
[53:18] Speaker 10: than dunking. And yet, Kenyon says a lot, you know,
[53:24] Speaker 10: he's just too light to post up regularly. He's just
[53:28] Speaker 10: too slender. But he is 7 feet 6 inches tall.
[53:33] Speaker 10: And you see the devastation that he causes when he
[53:37] Speaker 10: gets a hand on the basketball in the restricted area.
[53:40] Speaker 2: It's over, man.
[53:42] Speaker 4: There's nobody.
[53:43] Speaker 10: Mitchell Robinson, Cat at his greatest. They just can't deal
[53:48] Speaker 10: with it. It's too long and it's too tall. And
[53:52] Speaker 10: he does play with some physicality when he decides to.
[53:55] Speaker 4: To me, I see some.
[53:57] Speaker 10: I get the slender and the light and the behind
[53:59] Speaker 10: and all that. But last night, early on, I don't
[54:05] Speaker 10: know who lit his fire, if Mitch.
[54:07] Speaker 4: Can get to him, if.
[54:09] Speaker 10: Biambo, one of those guys gets to him and says,
[54:13] Speaker 10: just to start the game, try to be a presence
[54:16] Speaker 10: whenever you can. Try to get your little behind down low.
[54:22] Speaker 10: where you can at least be in position to dominate
[54:25] Speaker 10: and to devastate them psychologically. Because again, eight buckets in
[54:31] Speaker 10: the restricted area is way beyond what he usually does.
[54:34] Speaker 4: So that was impressive to.
[54:36] Speaker 10: Me that even though I don't think he gets great
[54:39] Speaker 10: pleasure out of it, his teammates do, his coaching staff does,
[54:44] Speaker 10: his management does, because they know that that's the Wimby
[54:48] Speaker 10: nobody can stop is that guy. He's a 35% career
[54:52] Speaker 10: three-point shooter, and he'll probably revert to the mean of
[54:56] Speaker 10: that over time where I don't know if it'll get
[55:00] Speaker 10: way better than that.
[55:01] Speaker 4: Will he ever be.
[55:01] Speaker 10: A 40% three-point shooter? Because if he is, then that's over.
[55:05] Speaker 1: That's the adjustment we all need to make when it
[55:08] Speaker 1: comes to Embiid is, okay, the traditional big that everyone's
[55:12] Speaker 1: begging for him to be, that's out.
[55:15] Speaker 2: Watch out. That shit, that's over with.
[55:17] Speaker 5: Shaq.
[55:18] Speaker 2: Charles, get him down low. No more down low.
[55:23] Speaker 1: No more. He's shooting threes. He's going to be a 40%
[55:25] Speaker 1: three-point shooter. He's going to have to learn to get
[55:28] Speaker 1: his two-dribble pull-up game going because all that going back
[55:31] Speaker 1: to the basket, he's not built.
[55:35] Speaker 2: He doesn't have the build for that. And to force
[55:38] Speaker 2: it on him.
[55:39] Speaker 10: Yeah, but if he does get down there and get
[55:40] Speaker 10: a hold of the ball, nobody can stop it.
[55:43] Speaker 2: He just has to do it the way Giannis does it.
[55:46] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[55:46] Speaker 1: That's going to be the new metric of the big man.
[55:49] Speaker 1: Seven foot, you got to do it like Giannis now.
[55:51] Speaker 4: So it was funny.
[55:53] Speaker 10: The play of the game is Cat does go out
[55:56] Speaker 10: high and get in his face. And Wimby says, I'm
[56:00] Speaker 10: still going to shoot this three. And he goes up
[56:01] Speaker 10: to shoot it. And Cat is going to block it.
[56:04] Speaker 10: He's going to block the 7'6 guy. And at the
[56:06] Speaker 10: last second before his feet come down, he has no
[56:09] Speaker 10: choice but just to kick it sideways to, oh, Stephon Castle.
[56:14] Speaker 10: who's unguarded at this moment because they're daring him to shoot.
[56:18] Speaker 10: And he says, oh, I'm not even going to hesitate.
[56:22] Speaker 1: Somebody got to shoot it. Somebody got to shoot that motherfucker.
[56:25] Speaker 2: Go ahead and put it up. Cat played good defense
[56:27] Speaker 2: on Wimby when it came to that. He did.
[56:29] Speaker 4: On the perimeter stuff, he played pretty well.
[56:33] Speaker 10: And Cat had three steals last night, so he was
[56:35] Speaker 10: doing something on defense.
[56:36] Speaker 5: It's a cat-and-mouse game at this point.
[56:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, cat-and-mouse.
[56:40] Speaker 5: It's a cat-and-mouse game right now.
[56:43] Speaker 3: Let's talk about another side of this game, free throw disparity.
[56:46] Speaker 3: In this game and series, it's been the subject of discussion.
[56:49] Speaker 3: San Antonio shot 24 free throws in the second half
[56:52] Speaker 3: of game three. We're in the bonus, like y'all mentioned,
[56:54] Speaker 3: the last nine minutes of the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the
[56:56] Speaker 3: Knicks got to the line eight times in the second half,
[56:59] Speaker 3: attempted 10 less free throws in the game. So Mike
[57:02] Speaker 3: Brown offered these thoughts on the officiating after the Knicks lost.
[57:05] Speaker 11: Now, we didn't play good. San Antonio played great. We
[57:11] Speaker 11: could have played better. There were a lot of things
[57:13] Speaker 11: that we didn't do that we did in game one
[57:16] Speaker 11: and game two. But to go 24 free throw attempts
[57:23] Speaker 11: in a second half, that's 48 for the game if
[57:27] Speaker 11: you think about it the way that they called that
[57:29] Speaker 11: second half. Compared to eight, all the shots we took,
[57:35] Speaker 11: we got fouled four times roughly for eight free throw attempts. Again,
[57:43] Speaker 11: I don't complain much. I never thought I'd see that
[57:46] Speaker 11: in an NBA Finals game.
[57:51] Speaker 2: Who let the dogs out? Who let them dogs in?
[57:55] Speaker 3: So Spurs have shot more free throws than the Knicks
[57:58] Speaker 3: in each of the first three games of the series,
[58:00] Speaker 3: plus 23 for the series.
[58:02] Speaker 2: So can we start with you?
[58:03] Speaker 3: You'll be with Mike Brown calling out the officiating in
[58:06] Speaker 3: game three. 24 second-half free throw attempts.
[58:10] Speaker 9: Yeah, absolutely. And he said something else in that statement
[58:14] Speaker 9: as well. Yeah, we're fouling, but they're fouling too, right?
[58:19] Speaker 9: So that's a fair assessment, right?
[58:24] Speaker 2: I can't be mad at it. Say you fouling and
[58:27] Speaker 2: they fouling to give you the whistle.
[58:29] Speaker 9: Yeah, no, I get his point where he's frustrated. Your
[58:32] Speaker 9: guy is a rim attacker. Jalen Brunson attacks the rim
[58:36] Speaker 9: like no other point guard in the NBA. Some of
[58:41] Speaker 9: the possessions, the Carl Anthony Towns trying to post up,
[58:44] Speaker 9: some of it, yeah, I ain't saying you should call
[58:45] Speaker 9: all of it because he needs to play through it.
[58:47] Speaker 2: I agree.
[58:48] Speaker 9: But just some of it, you have to try that
[58:51] Speaker 9: hard to get him from catching the ball. All of
[58:53] Speaker 9: it ain't legal is what I'm saying. I ain't saying
[58:56] Speaker 9: you got to call them all because we'll be sitting
[58:57] Speaker 9: there just to be a few, but some of them just,
[59:00] Speaker 9: but I understand Mike Brown's point, but to his point
[59:04] Speaker 9: as well, he understands the team didn't play well. So
[59:08] Speaker 9: with all that said, yeah, 24, to eight is in
[59:12] Speaker 9: a finals game. And they, New York is an aggressive
[59:16] Speaker 9: basketball team. So like we all know, you ain't gonna
[59:20] Speaker 9: call them all, but I understand his, his gripe and complaint.
[59:24] Speaker 9: He has to protect his guys. Um, So, yeah, Mike
[59:27] Speaker 9: Brown is speaking up for his team. So, yeah, I
[59:29] Speaker 9: get where he's coming from. But the points that he
[59:32] Speaker 9: made I think were valid. And him being honest in
[59:36] Speaker 9: the assessment and understanding that his team didn't play well.
[59:39] Speaker 9: But both teams are trying out there.
[59:44] Speaker 2: So, let's just– we don't want to feel like we're
[59:47] Speaker 2: being cheaty.
[59:49] Speaker 3: So, Mr. B, do you agree with Mike Brown calling
[59:52] Speaker 3: out the officiating in that game?
[59:54] Speaker 2: No.
[59:55] Speaker 8: We had a problem with it when we was up 2-0.
[59:57] Speaker 8: We fought through all that. This is the NBA Finals.
[1:00:02] Speaker 8: You guys played terrible. That's what it was. You guys
[1:00:04] Speaker 8: played terrible. You guys were in the bonus with nine
[1:00:07] Speaker 8: minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
[1:00:08] Speaker 2: You guys couldn't play aggressive. They don't deserve the whistle, though, B?
[1:00:11] Speaker 1: No matter how you're playing, you can be playing.
[1:00:14] Speaker 2: Great or terrible. If it's a foul, it's a foul.
[1:00:17] Speaker 1: It don't matter.
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: So they don't deserve the whistle because they're playing bad?
[1:00:21] Speaker 8: I mean, you still had a chance to win as
[1:00:23] Speaker 8: much as we want to complain about the cause. We're
[1:00:25] Speaker 8: down three with 30 seconds to go. So, I mean,
[1:00:27] Speaker 8: we wasn't tripping game one and game two. So, you know,
[1:00:30] Speaker 8: I just don't want to start that now. Like, I mean,
[1:00:33] Speaker 8: they're both teams are getting beat up.
[1:00:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's his point. I feel like both teams.
[1:00:38] Speaker 2: That's his point. At the end of the day, you're
[1:00:40] Speaker 2: up two. You're at home. You should be feeling comfortable.
[1:00:42] Speaker 2: You still got a chance. You still got it. chance
[1:00:45] Speaker 2: to win the game. I just don't want to hear
[1:00:47] Speaker 2: nothing about the officials right now.
[1:00:48] Speaker 9: With all that said, everything you just said, yes, but
[1:00:52] Speaker 9: the facts are it was 24-8 in the second half.
[1:00:55] Speaker 2: No, I mean, yeah.
[1:00:56] Speaker 3: So, 23 fouls on the Knicks, 21 on the Spurs
[1:00:58] Speaker 3: in the game. Yeah, a lot of them was... The
[1:01:00] Speaker 3: foul call disparity is very close. You said it was what?
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: 23-21, but.
[1:01:07] Speaker 2: It didn't equal in the free throws as well. So
[1:01:09] Speaker 2: I know I know we're so we're fouling different.
[1:01:11] Speaker 9: So they're fine, but there's a result in the free
[1:01:14] Speaker 9: throws is what I'm saying.
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: There's a result.
[1:01:15] Speaker 1: So he's saying they they wouldn't blow in the meaningful time.
[1:01:18] Speaker 8: But because of what though because they was already in
[1:01:20] Speaker 8: the bone already.
[1:01:21] Speaker 2: They already didn't cook them.
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: But they defeat those a lot of their free files
[1:01:25] Speaker 1: probably came in the first half as well. So watching
[1:01:28] Speaker 1: it watching it. Remember those files were legit fouls. Like,
[1:01:33] Speaker 1: Shamit was getting legit fouls. Cat was getting legit fouls.
[1:01:37] Speaker 1: It was putting some pressure on them. When you're talking
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: about being in a bonus in the first three minutes.
[1:01:42] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:01:43] Speaker 1: Like, Mikael Bridges, I'm putting pressure on you.
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: You're going to make a mistake.
[1:01:47] Speaker 5: Make a mistake.
[1:01:47] Speaker 2: He made a dumb foul.
[1:01:48] Speaker 5: We want to make you make dumb fouls.
[1:01:49] Speaker 1: Because the Knicks, the one thing they do is they
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: foul dumb all the time.
[1:01:54] Speaker 2: So when you get them to get dumb.
[1:01:56] Speaker 1: Fouls every now and again, look, dummy, dummy, go to
[1:01:59] Speaker 1: the bench, dummy.
[1:02:01] Speaker 2: You're doing dumb shit.
[1:02:02] Speaker 1: And now you got to complain at the end of
[1:02:04] Speaker 1: the game about refereeing when you don't got momentum defensively.
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: You don't got defensive momentum. Now you can't even get
[1:02:11] Speaker 1: the calls because you're out of position all the time.
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: You're gambling for little fucking fouls and shit.
[1:02:18] Speaker 9: Well, now you bring it to their attention, though. So
[1:02:19] Speaker 9: I get what he did. He put it on the radar, right?
[1:02:22] Speaker 9: So the referee that's on for the next game is
[1:02:25] Speaker 9: on their radar.
[1:02:25] Speaker 8: I feel like game one he should have said something.
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: It was smart. I think it was strategic. I think
[1:02:31] Speaker 2: it was smart.
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: Where are we coming from? We're coming from the Minnesota
[1:02:34] Speaker 1: Timberwolves series. in the OKC Thunder Series where we're talking
[1:02:39] Speaker 1: about all on football. We're playing football and we're letting
[1:02:42] Speaker 1: it go. So we get to the finals, we don't
[1:02:45] Speaker 1: want to let it go now because that's what it
[1:02:47] Speaker 1: looked like.
[1:02:47] Speaker 2: It looked like they let it go.
[1:02:49] Speaker 1: They're letting a lot of shit.
[1:02:51] Speaker 2: We're like, damn, that's a foul. Both sides.
[1:02:55] Speaker 9: I'm speaking up for my guy and I'm pretty sure
[1:02:56] Speaker 9: if Mitch Johnson's team was down in free throw discrepancy
[1:03:00] Speaker 9: 24 to 8 in that regard, he would have something
[1:03:03] Speaker 9: to say as well.
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: Mitch, it's your first time here. Relax.
[1:03:05] Speaker 1: Relax Don't say nothing. Don't say a goddamn thing.
[1:03:12] Speaker 2: What's up, man?
[1:03:13] Speaker 9: It's my first time, but I'm here, goddamnit.
[1:03:15] Speaker 1: Hey, pull him to the back, man. If you are
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: here not blowing the whistle for my team, goddamnit, I'm
[1:03:20] Speaker 1: going to have something to say. I'm going to get
[1:03:22] Speaker 1: you a call.
[1:03:23] Speaker 2: I'm going to have something to say. Talk to me, bitch, man.
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: You know what's going on. The name's Frankie Johnson. I
[1:03:29] Speaker 2: know you know Frankie. Frankie Johnson. Frankie Johnson.
[1:03:32] Speaker 1: Nah.
[1:03:33] Speaker 3: But talking about the physicality, the football component of it,
[1:03:36] Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson found himself on the wrong side of a
[1:03:38] Speaker 3: few questionable plays in game three.
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: Let's take a look at this. This is first quarter. Wimby.
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: Let's watch it one more time. Hold on. So rewind
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: it a little bit. Let's start from the top, please.
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: Back and to the left.
[1:03:58] Speaker 2: Shit.
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: Simultaneously as this is going on, look for sale. Look
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: at Johnson trying to stop this man from posting up.
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: You don't call neither one of.
[1:04:10] Speaker 2: Them.
[1:04:11] Speaker 1: Neither one of them be. That's what Mike Brown's saying. Look,
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: but that's Kat. Kat underneath. But shit, I'm trying to get.
[1:04:19] Speaker 2: A post up. You glad to do it. Glad to
[1:04:21] Speaker 2: do it. Why don't you grab Wimmy Jersey and be like.
[1:04:24] Speaker 2: So let's look at the next play in the second quarter.
[1:04:26] Speaker 2: Stephon Castle. He tried to sell that. Yeah, he sold
[1:04:28] Speaker 2: that like a mama. He little. Right there.
[1:04:31] Speaker 1: He tried to sell. And he hurt himself in me.
[1:04:32] Speaker 1: And Simon trying to sell that bullshit. You almost caught yourself. Oh,
[1:04:36] Speaker 1: that's a sale right there. You're playing hard, but you're
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: killing us.
[1:04:39] Speaker 2: He almost cost himself, man. So you think he was
[1:04:41] Speaker 2: selling that car?
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: He definitely sold that car.
[1:04:47] Speaker 2: It was a common foul. They wouldn't have looked at it.
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: They did look at it. It was a common foul.
[1:04:51] Speaker 1: And you were running for offensive rebound. Did not look
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: at the Wimby play, though. I thought he was sold
[1:04:55] Speaker 1: in real time. So, that's the plays that Mike Brown
[1:04:57] Speaker 1: was speaking of. You got Wimby pushing this, mushing this
[1:04:59] Speaker 1: man in the ground.
[1:05:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, something should have got caught.
[1:05:02] Speaker 1: Cat trying to post up, and you got a fucking
[1:05:04] Speaker 1: wrestling matchup. Let's see it again. I give you that one. So,
[1:05:06] Speaker 1: both in one play, you got two fouls that you
[1:05:08] Speaker 1: didn't call. Neither one.
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: Come on now, though. Goddamn, though. I give you that one.
[1:05:12] Speaker 2: In my way, which one? I give you that one.
[1:05:14] Speaker 2: Which one are you going to get? The cat.
[1:05:16] Speaker 1: The post-up or the whammy? One of them. Pick one.
[1:05:19] Speaker 2: Pick one. The cat. Thank you. Goddamn.
[1:05:21] Speaker 1: I'm going to give you the cat. So you take
[1:05:23] Speaker 1: the cat when you can't take this one. So if
[1:05:25] Speaker 1: I get– so now if Cat takes Madison to his
[1:05:27] Speaker 1: own hand right now, right, and I chose to get
[1:05:30] Speaker 1: you off of him, it's an offensive foul because you
[1:05:32] Speaker 1: didn't blow the whistle.
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: So that's– Yeah, yeah.
[1:05:35] Speaker 1: But Cat doing cheap shit too though. Cat got the
[1:05:38] Speaker 1: underhook first. I'm trying to post up. He got the
[1:05:41] Speaker 1: underhook holding.
[1:05:44] Speaker 2: And then he gets around and elbows him in the back. No, no,
[1:05:47] Speaker 2: he didn't elbow him. I would have came right down
[1:05:49] Speaker 2: on your shit. I would have made it obvious. Give
[1:05:51] Speaker 2: me a story.
[1:05:52] Speaker 1: I would have made it obvious. I would have came
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: right down on your shit. They said Brunson had his jersey.
[1:05:56] Speaker 1: All right, well, guess what?
[1:06:00] Speaker 2: I think they said Brunson had a whammy jersey.
[1:06:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, a handful.
[1:06:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, a handful.
[1:06:04] Speaker 4: It's like down low.
[1:06:06] Speaker 2: Yeah. He deserved to get mushed. Yeah, watch out, man.
[1:06:09] Speaker 2: Stop with that bullshit.
[1:06:10] Speaker 8: No, I'm surprised Brunson didn't grab him by the jersey
[1:06:12] Speaker 8: and do the same thing.
[1:06:13] Speaker 2: You see what he got up? He got up and
[1:06:14] Speaker 2: did this. Man, what is that? What is that? What
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: is this? You got one. What is this? He called
[1:06:24] Speaker 2: for the screen.
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: He was like, okay, come on.
[1:06:30] Speaker 2: What is this? Come here, sucker. You got one more time. See,
[1:06:33] Speaker 2: that worries me. Shit like that worries me. But then
[1:06:36] Speaker 2: he called for the screen like, bring it, bring it,
[1:06:37] Speaker 2: bring it.
[1:06:37] Speaker 8: No, he should have grabbed him by his jersey and
[1:06:39] Speaker 8: they both should have gotten.
[1:06:40] Speaker 2: A double tag.
[1:06:40] Speaker 1: You should have told him, bring that screen and I'm
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: going to take one.
[1:06:43] Speaker 2: I ain't gonna use my thumb, my nigga. He called
[1:06:45] Speaker 2: for to bring his ring, right? I'm not gonna use
[1:06:47] Speaker 2: my thumb. He's smaller than him. I ought to put
[1:06:49] Speaker 2: it all in his ribs, right? I got one more chance. Please,
[1:06:52] Speaker 2: take it. I'm gonna just go right here with the jersey.
[1:06:54] Speaker 2: Just like we both get a double tag. But this
[1:06:56] Speaker 2: right here, this finger ain't doing nothing. Looking up, looking
[1:06:58] Speaker 2: up to him. Hey, one more time, turkey. Hey, you
[1:07:01] Speaker 2: got one more time. Turkey. Yeah. You think I'm little, huh?
[1:07:05] Speaker 2: He's like, one more time, buddy. I swear to God,
[1:07:07] Speaker 2: one more time, buddy. You got one more chance, bud.
[1:07:09] Speaker 2: I swear. It's like, man, what?
[1:07:12] Speaker 1: Skip, are the Spurs playing dirty or is this just
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: playoff basketball?
[1:07:16] Speaker 10: I do think Victor Wim Minyames, the new face of
[1:07:19] Speaker 10: the league, has become the most overprotected player in basketball.
[1:07:23] Speaker 2: That's what I think. In history? Is he not supposed
[1:07:27] Speaker 2: to be protected? Wait, in history? Or is this just
[1:07:29] Speaker 2: right now? No, now. Okay, I'm going to say Michael
[1:07:31] Speaker 2: Jordan was. No, no, no, no.
[1:07:32] Speaker 4: So he earned what he got.
[1:07:34] Speaker 5: He's trying to trigger you, Skip.
[1:07:36] Speaker 2: Don't fall for it. He's trying to trigger you, Skip.
[1:07:39] Speaker 2: He almost went for it.
[1:07:40] Speaker 1: Look, to your point, I don't want to hear about
[1:07:42] Speaker 1: the officiating, but I do.
[1:07:42] Speaker 10: Think even though Jalen Brunson down low has got a
[1:07:58] Speaker 10: fistful of jersey, you can't throw him down and get
[1:08:01] Speaker 10: away with that. You've got to– come on, man. You've
[1:08:04] Speaker 10: got to call that. It's just a flagrant foul. And
[1:08:07] Speaker 10: I don't care what you say about the Steph Castle.
[1:08:11] Speaker 10: This just in, he made the Pro Bowl.
[1:08:13] Speaker 4: I told you.
[1:08:14] Speaker 2: He's a football player. This just in. This just in.
[1:08:19] Speaker 4: Because he is the best tackler in the NBA.
[1:08:22] Speaker 10: And you can't get a running start at a Jalen
[1:08:26] Speaker 10: Brunson who is facing you and go in with forearm
[1:08:31] Speaker 10: high and hit him up in here.
[1:08:33] Speaker 4: It's just a flagrant foul. He sold it. I got it.
[1:08:36] Speaker 10: And he came close to hurting his own tailbone flopping hard.
[1:08:41] Speaker 10: Not flopping, but exaggerating the impact. But it was pretty
[1:08:45] Speaker 10: severe impact in a play that you never see.
[1:08:49] Speaker 4: It's like a weird play. When do you see... Got
[1:08:51] Speaker 4: you know, he's supposed to be boxing him.
[1:08:53] Speaker 10: Out You're not you're not turned with your butt to him.
[1:08:57] Speaker 2: You're facing him Because I can't jump with him.
[1:08:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess so.
[1:09:00] Speaker 10: But he's just coming in like, I'm coming like this, man.
[1:09:03] Speaker 10: You better get out of my way because I'm going
[1:09:05] Speaker 10: to run your ass over. And he ran his ass over.
[1:09:08] Speaker 10: And then there was a late call where Cat just
[1:09:12] Speaker 10: got fouled. He just got hammered, and they just said, oh,
[1:09:15] Speaker 10: it's Nick's ball out of bounds.
[1:09:17] Speaker 4: And I'm like, what?
[1:09:18] Speaker 10: That's just like a freaking– bloody foul you know so
[1:09:23] Speaker 10: the point of this is that Mike Brown did his
[1:09:27] Speaker 10: job he took it right out of the Phil Jackson
[1:09:30] Speaker 10: handbook you have to make your your case for game
[1:09:33] Speaker 10: four you have to plant the seeds of I'm going
[1:09:36] Speaker 10: to defend my team and I'm going to say discrepancy
[1:09:38] Speaker 10: 24 to 8 in the second half but you know
[1:09:41] Speaker 10: what I'm rooting for the Knicks, and I'm going on
[1:09:44] Speaker 10: my eye test for the second half, it wasn't glaring.
[1:09:49] Speaker 10: The Spurs just played harder and smarter all the way home.
[1:09:53] Speaker 10: And because of that, the refs are going to reward them,
[1:09:57] Speaker 10: and they deserve to get rewarded the way they got rewarded.
[1:10:00] Speaker 10: There wasn't egregious, like, there's uncalled flagrant fouls, but But
[1:10:06] Speaker 10: as far as ticky-tack here, there, to your point, I
[1:10:09] Speaker 10: didn't even want to hear it because it wasn't glaring
[1:10:12] Speaker 10: last night. The Spurs kicked their ass physically, just kicked
[1:10:18] Speaker 10: their asses from start to finish.
[1:10:21] Speaker 1: So when you talk about face guarding on the offensive rebounder, right,
[1:10:24] Speaker 1: got us always going. What does the coach tell you
[1:10:27] Speaker 1: to do when you've got to box him out? Like
[1:10:29] Speaker 1: if that's a Draymond Green and Josh Smith, Chris Bosh,
[1:10:33] Speaker 1: always going to offensive glass.
[1:10:35] Speaker 5: You have to face guard him and.
[1:10:37] Speaker 1: You have to chuck him in his chest and then
[1:10:39] Speaker 1: make sure you keep him off the glass. Stephon Castle
[1:10:43] Speaker 1: was running in there to go do that. Just that
[1:10:45] Speaker 1: same thing.
[1:10:46] Speaker 2: He was trying to inflict damage. He was definitely going
[1:10:48] Speaker 2: to get.
[1:10:49] Speaker 1: Now, when you know that you're the runner and he's
[1:10:52] Speaker 1: supposed to stop you, there's impact that's going to happen.
[1:10:56] Speaker 2: Yep. And we anticipate that impact. Carter Bryant did it
[1:10:59] Speaker 2: to him.
[1:11:00] Speaker 5: SGA.
[1:11:01] Speaker 2: Oh, SGA. He did it to SGA. He did.
[1:11:03] Speaker 5: This is the same thing.
[1:11:04] Speaker 1: So this is Spurs basketball when it comes to offensive rebounding.
[1:11:08] Speaker 2: Go to the glass.
[1:11:10] Speaker 1: Both of them going to the glass knowing that these
[1:11:12] Speaker 1: two point guards have no chance of boxing them out.
[1:11:14] Speaker 1: Only thing they can do is face guard. So Jalen Brunson,
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: how many fucking charges did he have all year long?
[1:11:20] Speaker 2: He did.
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: A lot of offensive charges. So that's what he does.
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: So if you're a guard like him, you're one, you
[1:11:26] Speaker 1: know he's going to flop. So we talked about this before.
[1:11:31] Speaker 1: I'm going to take my foul. I'm going to take
[1:11:32] Speaker 1: my foul. If I'm going to take my one foul,
[1:11:35] Speaker 1: it's going to be to run you over.
[1:11:36] Speaker 2: I'm going to make it work. I'm going to make
[1:11:37] Speaker 2: this the, yeah.
[1:11:38] Speaker 1: But then if you're going to sell it, oversell it,
[1:11:40] Speaker 1: and still not get it, that lets us know you
[1:11:43] Speaker 1: don't want this contact.
[1:11:44] Speaker 2: So, last thing on this front. Wimby flagrant, Kenya, in
[1:11:48] Speaker 2: your opinion? On Jalen? Yeah. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. No way.
[1:11:54] Speaker 2: Let's hear it one more time. Hell yeah. No way.
[1:11:57] Speaker 2: Hell yeah. If Kenyon says it's a flagrant, that's a flagrant.
[1:12:00] Speaker 2: Get off me. Get off me. Get off me. Get
[1:12:05] Speaker 2: off me. If Kenyon thinks it's a flagrant, that's a flagrant.
[1:12:08] Speaker 2: That's a mug. His dirty. His mug. His ass.
[1:12:11] Speaker 10: Shit.
[1:12:13] Speaker 2: Go look at some of Kenyon's highlights. Shit.
[1:12:15] Speaker 5: That's a flop right there.
[1:12:17] Speaker 2: A flop.
[1:12:18] Speaker 1: That's actually a 25, 30-pound weight difference between those two.
[1:12:21] Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a defensive foul, man.
[1:12:22] Speaker 2: Pro Bowl defense right there, Skip. He ain't even pushed off.
[1:12:29] Speaker 3: So I think Wimby, I think, already has two points
[1:12:31] Speaker 3: because of that flagrant two ejection against the Wolves. If
[1:12:35] Speaker 3: he gets, I think, two more or is it over
[1:12:37] Speaker 3: four points, he'd be suspended for a game. So NBA
[1:12:40] Speaker 3: has a vested interest to not.
[1:12:41] Speaker 4: They will not go back.
[1:12:42] Speaker 2: They're not going to call a flagrant two on him.
[1:12:44] Speaker 10: No.
[1:12:44] Speaker 2: Okay, but Flaygan won in that regard.
[1:12:47] Speaker 10: By the way, Stephon Castle is the damnedest driver of
[1:12:50] Speaker 10: the basketball I've ever seen because it's like football.
[1:12:52] Speaker 4: Like he just attacks and it's bang, crash, travel, bang, crash, travel, right?
[1:12:57] Speaker 10: And then he gets underneath and he pump fakes a
[1:13:00] Speaker 10: couple times and then he just powers people out of
[1:13:03] Speaker 10: the way.
[1:13:04] Speaker 4: It's unbelievable. It's raw.
[1:13:07] Speaker 10: It's kind of ugly basketball, but it works, man.
[1:13:09] Speaker 2: You know what it is? It's easy. It's easy for him.
[1:13:14] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[1:13:14] Speaker 2: Stephon know what it is. Get that Pro Bowl ring, man.
[1:13:17] Speaker 2: Go ahead and get that appearance. Stephon Cassel. Yeah. We
[1:13:20] Speaker 2: ain't tripping. Mr. B. No, he did not. No, he
[1:13:24] Speaker 2: did not. Okay, never mind. He's from Georgia. He went
[1:13:27] Speaker 2: to Newport. Great question.
[1:13:29] Speaker 3: All right, let's talk about another situation that went on
[1:13:33] Speaker 3: at the game. Game three saw some American history made
[1:13:37] Speaker 3: as Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend
[1:13:40] Speaker 3: an NBA finals game. Trump is a New Yorker, longtime
[1:13:42] Speaker 3: Knicks fan, was personally invited by Knicks owner James Dolan.
[1:13:47] Speaker 3: So as a result of Trump pulling up to the game,
[1:13:51] Speaker 3: security perimeter was installed ahead of game three around MSG.
[1:13:55] Speaker 3: That's what it looked like. You were not walking past
[1:13:59] Speaker 3: Madison Square unless you had a ticket or a media credential.
[1:14:02] Speaker 3: Fans were instructed to arrive at the arena at least
[1:14:05] Speaker 3: two hours before tip-off to undergo extensive security checks. So
[1:14:09] Speaker 3: Trump sat in a suite with Dolan. Here was Nick's
[1:14:11] Speaker 3: fan's reaction when he was shown on the Jumbotron during
[1:14:14] Speaker 3: the national anthem. Can't tell if they were saying boo
[1:14:30] Speaker 3: or boo, but either way. NYPD and Secret Service also
[1:14:34] Speaker 3: canceled traditional outdoor watch parties outside of MSG. for game
[1:14:38] Speaker 3: three only, with team sanctioned watch parties being moved to
[1:14:40] Speaker 3: Central Park and the Brooklyn Bowl. After the game, several
[1:14:43] Speaker 3: Knicks fans placed the blame on the president for the
[1:14:46] Speaker 3: Knicks loss, but Skip, we'll start with you. Did Trump
[1:14:50] Speaker 3: kill the energy inside and outside of Madison Square Garden
[1:14:53] Speaker 3: for game three of the finals? First finals game since 1999.
[1:14:57] Speaker 10: Well, he definitely killed it outside, as you point out.
[1:15:01] Speaker 4: It's locked down.
[1:15:02] Speaker 10: You move the gathering from under the nose of Madison
[1:15:07] Speaker 10: Square Garden, the Central Park, and elsewhere. And yet, here
[1:15:15] Speaker 10: we have the most polarizing president in the history of
[1:15:18] Speaker 10: this country.
[1:15:20] Speaker 4: And you can.
[1:15:22] Speaker 10: Criticize him for a whole lot of things, but I'm
[1:15:25] Speaker 10: going to defend one part of this. And that is,
[1:15:28] Speaker 10: he didn't just jump on the bandwagon out of nowhere
[1:15:32] Speaker 10: and say, I'm going to the games.
[1:15:34] Speaker 4: He is from New York City, grew.
[1:15:36] Speaker 10: Up in New York City, born in Queens, but he
[1:15:40] Speaker 10: was a next season ticket holder back in the 80s
[1:15:43] Speaker 10: and 90s, so you've got to give him that there's
[1:15:45] Speaker 10: some history here, and that's where I disagreed with Stephen A. Smith,
[1:15:49] Speaker 10: that you can't blame him for wanting to be part
[1:15:52] Speaker 10: of it, but you can blame him for.
[1:15:56] Speaker 2: Knowing.
[1:15:57] Speaker 10: or not knowing that his presence was, was going to,
[1:16:01] Speaker 10: to have a chilling effect on the whole city because
[1:16:04] Speaker 10: they were going to have to lock down such a,
[1:16:06] Speaker 10: the Spurs said it took their bus. It's a mile
[1:16:08] Speaker 10: and a half from their hotel. It took 30 minutes
[1:16:11] Speaker 10: and they were a little late to get there. So
[1:16:13] Speaker 10: it's going to screw every, everything up because your presence
[1:16:18] Speaker 10: is so big and your secret service presence is so big.
[1:16:21] Speaker 10: They're going to take over everything and it's going to,
[1:16:26] Speaker 10: it's going to have a little bit of a dampening
[1:16:28] Speaker 10: effect on everybody involved with the game. So I can't
[1:16:32] Speaker 10: condemn him for wanting to be there because he was
[1:16:34] Speaker 10: a part of it in its early going. And he was, what,
[1:16:38] Speaker 10: 26 when they last won their 1973 championship. So he
[1:16:43] Speaker 10: knows what it felt like. And he's a Knicks fan,
[1:16:46] Speaker 10: so I can't condemn that part of it. But, again,
[1:16:51] Speaker 10: the bigger picture... he should have been wise enough to
[1:16:56] Speaker 10: sit back and say, maybe I should just watch from
[1:16:58] Speaker 10: afar because I don't want to mess up what was happening.
[1:17:04] Speaker 10: They'd won 13 straight games, and for me to suddenly
[1:17:06] Speaker 10: walk in the back door with my Secret Service, it's
[1:17:10] Speaker 10: going to have an impact on the city itself.
[1:17:14] Speaker 2: Go watch the game at the Yardhouse. Tim, and allegedly
[1:17:17] Speaker 2: you was at the game sleep.
[1:17:20] Speaker 4: It did look like he dozed.
[1:17:22] Speaker 9: Yeah, there was a picture out there. He went to
[1:17:25] Speaker 9: the game and you went to sleep. Yeah, you could
[1:17:28] Speaker 9: have dozed off on the confines of your own couch, brother.
[1:17:32] Speaker 2: You think I'm going to shy away from this moment?
[1:17:35] Speaker 2: Not him, no.
[1:17:35] Speaker 1: Timothy Chalamet can come to the game and I can't?
[1:17:39] Speaker 2: No.
[1:17:39] Speaker 4: No.
[1:17:39] Speaker 2: Timothy Chalamet. She is.
[1:17:43] Speaker 1: Fat Joe and DJ Khaled.
[1:17:45] Speaker 2: Another one can be here and I can't. That's why
[1:17:47] Speaker 2: he did it. I'm me. What you talking about? I'm me.
[1:17:51] Speaker 2: The nature boy. Woo.
[1:17:53] Speaker 5: Huh?
[1:17:54] Speaker 2: That's why he did it. Donald. He got a tower
[1:17:59] Speaker 2: down the street.
[1:18:00] Speaker 4: What are we talking about?
[1:18:02] Speaker 2: Donald better be in that motherfucker. Donald watching me trump. What?
[1:18:06] Speaker 2: Donald watching me trump. Man, listen.
[1:18:09] Speaker 1: I paid for half of this damn building. This shit
[1:18:11] Speaker 1: half mine.
[1:18:12] Speaker 2: Dolan, you know. You owe me from golf. You owe me.
[1:18:18] Speaker 2: You owe me a couple of fees.
[1:18:22] Speaker 1: I better be in a good suite, too. We got
[1:18:26] Speaker 1: a bet back in 1995.
[1:18:27] Speaker 2: So, New York City fans.
[1:18:29] Speaker 9: So, Knicks fans. Now that I'm glad what you just said.
[1:18:34] Speaker 9: Y'all shouldn't be mad at the president. Y'all shouldn't have
[1:18:37] Speaker 9: booed him. Y'all should have booed James Dolan for inviting him.
[1:18:42] Speaker 9: Let's start there. It was an invitation.
[1:18:44] Speaker 2: It was.
[1:18:44] Speaker 9: So he didn't pick up and decide to come to
[1:18:47] Speaker 9: the game.
[1:18:48] Speaker 2: He was invited to the game.
[1:18:50] Speaker 9: He could have declined But he was invited by the
[1:18:53] Speaker 9: man that owns that building and owns that team.
[1:18:57] Speaker 2: So this is another James Dolan.
[1:19:01] Speaker 4: Who by the way inherited that team.
[1:19:03] Speaker 9: From from his father. So this is another James Dolan. Yeah,
[1:19:06] Speaker 9: I fall right here. So this is not on Trump
[1:19:11] Speaker 9: for showing up. This is on the owner for inviting him. Mr. B,
[1:19:16] Speaker 9: former New York Knick, much like Kenya. Did Trump kill
[1:19:22] Speaker 9: the vibe inside Madison Square Garden?
[1:19:24] Speaker 2: No. One man?
[1:19:27] Speaker 8: One man coming to the game and he's the problem?
[1:19:30] Speaker 8: We here to play basketball. I'll be honest with you.
[1:19:32] Speaker 8: If I'm one of the basketball players that's playing in
[1:19:34] Speaker 8: this game, I don't care who can't get in. I'm
[1:19:37] Speaker 8: here to play a basketball game, and I'm here to
[1:19:40] Speaker 8: win game three. That's my only focus. I get what's
[1:19:43] Speaker 8: going on.
[1:19:43] Speaker 2: I get it.
[1:19:44] Speaker 8: I mean, the president has gone to many events in
[1:19:47] Speaker 8: the world. I mean, if the Bulls was in the
[1:19:50] Speaker 8: finals when Derrick Rose was there, you don't think Obama
[1:19:52] Speaker 8: was going to go? Yes, he would have gone.
[1:19:54] Speaker 2: I don't think he would have went. Yes, he would
[1:19:56] Speaker 2: have gone.
[1:19:56] Speaker 1: He would go to a regular season game.
[1:19:57] Speaker 2: No, he would have definitely won. Meaning Obama is a hooper.
[1:20:00] Speaker 8: Obama, he's a left-hand hooper who has backyard hoops with
[1:20:06] Speaker 8: his friends and everybody.
[1:20:07] Speaker 2: You're telling me Obama would have been at the same.
[1:20:08] Speaker 9: Because it ain't never about him, so he wouldn't have
[1:20:10] Speaker 9: made it about him.
[1:20:11] Speaker 2: No, no, it's not about him. Yes, it is. That
[1:20:13] Speaker 2: was about that man. No. Yes, it was. Obama. I
[1:20:16] Speaker 2: love the game. It ain't never been about watch me.
[1:20:18] Speaker 2: The Bulls are back in the finals.
[1:20:20] Speaker 1: Obama was at the fucking Washington Wizards games, my nigga.
[1:20:23] Speaker 2: After he retired. After he retired. No, Obama was there
[1:20:26] Speaker 2: during and after, before the whole thing. But meaningless games. Yeah.
[1:20:41] Speaker 1: He came to some Carolina games.
[1:20:45] Speaker 3: But everything that comes with that, again, you want to
[1:20:47] Speaker 3: pull up to a game, the owner of the Knicks
[1:20:50] Speaker 3: invites me to a game, I'm pulling up. But if
[1:20:52] Speaker 3: that means I've got to push out the real fans
[1:20:54] Speaker 3: who've been in these streets holding it down for years,
[1:20:57] Speaker 3: fuck Trae Young and everything else.
[1:20:59] Speaker 8: James, don't owe me, dawg. He owe me something. Like
[1:21:04] Speaker 8: I said, they probably lost. He owe me though. I'm
[1:21:05] Speaker 8: coming to game three. I'm almost out of office.
[1:21:07] Speaker 2: I'm almost out of office. This is not my second term.
[1:21:08] Speaker 2: Let me get my terms in. Goodbye.
[1:21:20] Speaker 3: But just in terms of the whole vibe, and like
[1:21:22] Speaker 3: I said, Underdog dropped a video. Go to the game
[1:21:23] Speaker 3: in San Antonio.
[1:21:24] Speaker 10: What?
[1:21:24] Speaker 1: Go to the game in San Antonio.
[1:21:26] Speaker 3: Underdog dropped a video on their Instagram account, interviewed real-life
[1:21:29] Speaker 3: New Yorkers after the game.
[1:21:30] Speaker 2: Go to the game in San Antonio. What's the difference?
[1:21:32] Speaker 2: Go to the game in San Antonio. I ain't from
[1:21:34] Speaker 2: San Antonio, man.
[1:21:35] Speaker 8: The only reason why I think it's a really big thing,
[1:21:37] Speaker 8: I mean, you got the World Cup that's going on
[1:21:40] Speaker 8: right now in New York, right? So it is a
[1:21:43] Speaker 8: lot of different things going.
[1:21:44] Speaker 1: On right now.
[1:21:44] Speaker 2: World Cup going on here in L.A. soon, too.
[1:21:45] Speaker 8: You got the World Cup, you got... the finals, but...
[1:21:48] Speaker 8: They out the streets. I mean, hey, man, we got
[1:21:49] Speaker 8: a game to win, man. But that's what we talked
[1:21:52] Speaker 8: about earlier in the show. I don't feel like that
[1:21:54] Speaker 8: was a true representation of Madison Square Garden.
[1:21:57] Speaker 3: Woulda, shoulda been. It's your first finals game in 27 years.
[1:22:01] Speaker 3: The broke boys and girls can't convene outside the arena
[1:22:03] Speaker 3: to at least Park and La Pimp get a feel
[1:22:05] Speaker 3: for what's going on, getting booted out.
[1:22:08] Speaker 2: Barricades all around the venue. Unfair to the fans, man.
[1:22:11] Speaker 2: TSA screenings. That's all I'm saying. It was unfair to
[1:22:13] Speaker 2: the fans.
[1:22:13] Speaker 8: All you gotta do is just invite Charles Oakley down
[1:22:15] Speaker 8: to game four. They're going to forget about it.
[1:22:19] Speaker 2: No, he ain't going to forget about it. Oak ain't coming.
[1:22:22] Speaker 1: They'd have won the game. They'd have forgot about it.
[1:22:23] Speaker 1: It wouldn't even be headlined. It would have worked in
[1:22:26] Speaker 1: his favor.
[1:22:27] Speaker 2: It would have. But it didn't. That's what I'm saying.
[1:22:30] Speaker 1: But if y'all won because I came to the game.
[1:22:32] Speaker 2: Listen, they're 30 seconds away from winning the game. They're
[1:22:34] Speaker 2: down three. But it didn't. But it didn't. I know
[1:22:37] Speaker 2: it didn't. The facts are they.
[1:22:39] Speaker 1: Lost, and now it's a bigger deal than it should
[1:22:42] Speaker 1: have been, right?
[1:22:43] Speaker 2: 13-game winning streak.
[1:22:44] Speaker 1: Like I said, and allegedly the man was at the
[1:22:46] Speaker 1: game asleep.
[1:22:47] Speaker 2: Can we all battle the itis? I'm gonna be honest.
[1:22:50] Speaker 2: It was some boring ass moments. All this boring shit.
[1:22:53] Speaker 9: To take your ass to go to the game and
[1:22:55] Speaker 9: your narcolepsy kicked in.
[1:22:57] Speaker 2: Eating too many chicken wings. I'm 70-something years old, man.
[1:23:00] Speaker 2: I ain't got it like I used to. I ain't
[1:23:02] Speaker 2: got it like I used to. Shit, it's boring. He
[1:23:04] Speaker 2: over there at halftime.
[1:23:06] Speaker 10: Who?
[1:23:06] Speaker 2: Cardi B. Cardi B. I actually woke him up. He
[1:23:11] Speaker 2: only stayed for.
[1:23:12] Speaker 9: A half he didn't stay for the whole game.
[1:23:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
[1:23:16] Speaker 4: No, he stayed.
[1:23:16] Speaker 2: He stayed for the whole game?
[1:23:17] Speaker 4: He stayed to the bitter end.
[1:23:18] Speaker 2: Okay. Oh, he did. It's New York, man. It's my city. Okay,
[1:23:21] Speaker 2: I didn't think he stayed for the whole game. Yeah,
[1:23:23] Speaker 2: we got some work. We got work after work, man.
[1:23:25] Speaker 2: It's New York after hours. I'm going to grab about a.
[1:23:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, you're going New York City.
[1:23:33] Speaker 1: To grab body, you know He actually did say that
[1:23:40] Speaker 1: shot he said it's no he would not be going.
[1:23:43] Speaker 5: All right, well sprinkle sprinkle.
[1:23:46] Speaker 3: We got game for on the agenda Wednesday We will
[1:23:49] Speaker 3: see how this goes, but let's keep this thing moving
[1:23:52] Speaker 3: So time magazine dropped its first ever list of the
[1:23:55] Speaker 3: top 100 most influential people in sports and the man
[1:24:00] Speaker 3: skip picked as one of his goats and was selected
[1:24:02] Speaker 3: to grace the cover.
[1:24:03] Speaker 2: You did. We have the video.
[1:24:04] Speaker 5: Skip.
[1:24:04] Speaker 2: You cannot. No take backs.
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: So, Braun got the nod with Time dubbing him as
[1:24:09] Speaker 3: the athlete of the century. I don't know how to
[1:24:13] Speaker 3: do this.
[1:24:14] Speaker 1: Oh, wait.
[1:24:14] Speaker 2: I do. I'm going to do it. I'm going to
[1:24:16] Speaker 2: do it. Smoke for LeBron. Profile photo. Hairline looking intact.
[1:24:22] Speaker 3: Time editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs gave Braun this distinction given his
[1:24:25] Speaker 3: longevity on the court and overall staying power saying, quote,
[1:24:29] Speaker 3: We call him the athlete of the century, not solely
[1:24:31] Speaker 3: because of his on-court achievements, but also because over his career,
[1:24:34] Speaker 3: he has redefined what it means to be a professional
[1:24:37] Speaker 3: athlete in public life. Through his political engagement and business effort,
[1:24:41] Speaker 3: James has set a new standard for the generations that
[1:24:44] Speaker 3: follow and for those who join him on the list.
[1:24:47] Speaker 1: So, Mr. B, we'll start with you. You guys will
[1:24:49] Speaker 1: smoke to LeBron, Ramon, James Sr.
[1:24:52] Speaker 2: Now, let's ask for shoppers. Time, 100. This is time, okay?
[1:24:55] Speaker 2: A very important magazine. Let's ask for shoppers. Time Magazine.
[1:24:59] Speaker 8: And then I want Skip to go, then I'm glad.
[1:25:01] Speaker 2: Internationally known, nationally respected. Locally accepted. Sean, what do you think?
[1:25:05] Speaker 3: True action through Time Magazine calling LeBron the most influential
[1:25:09] Speaker 3: athlete of the century.
[1:25:10] Speaker 2: Well, a century is like, what, like 10 years, right?
[1:25:14] Speaker 2: Since the year 2000. That's a decade. That's a decade,
[1:25:17] Speaker 2: so he got two of them. Since the year 2000.
[1:25:18] Speaker 2: Three of them. Is it 100 years? Yeah. Yeah, this century.
[1:25:24] Speaker 2: So we are currently in a century.
[1:25:25] Speaker 5: Athlete of the last 100 years.
[1:25:28] Speaker 2: Most influential. Of this 21st century, so last 26 years. 26, yeah. Yeah,
[1:25:35] Speaker 2: the last 26 years. Yeah.
[1:25:38] Speaker 1: Why could I use another picture of the nigga, man?
[1:25:42] Speaker 2: The highest quality photo, according to Time Magazine. Yeah, man, yeah. We, we, yeah, yeah.
[1:25:50] Speaker 2: By Wimby. Yeah, yeah. Get that man his flowers now, man. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:25:58] Speaker 2: Get that man his flowers, dude. That's what I'm talking about.
[1:26:00] Speaker 4: Why not?
[1:26:01] Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about. Why not? That's what I'm
[1:26:02] Speaker 2: talking about. Why not? That's what I'm talking about. Why not?
[1:26:05] Speaker 2: Now you cooking. Shit. Talk to him.
[1:26:07] Speaker 1: No.
[1:26:07] Speaker 2: Shout out the chat. It said that's your best take
[1:26:09] Speaker 2: of the day. Man, talk to him. I'm from the chat.
[1:26:11] Speaker 2: Of the year. They're putting tombstones in right now. Yeah, man.
[1:26:14] Speaker 2: I mean, shit.
[1:26:15] Speaker 1: You can't get Michael Jackson or Tupac or none of
[1:26:18] Speaker 1: these other influential characters. Kobe is resting in peace. You know,
[1:26:23] Speaker 1: and Michael don't want to be, he don't want that picture.
[1:26:27] Speaker 1: He's been on Wheaties and all kinds of shit. You
[1:26:30] Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? Like, somebody got to feel this.
[1:26:33] Speaker 1: Somebody got to feel the magazine. Why not Brian?
[1:26:36] Speaker 2: Shit, he done a lot. How much more he going
[1:26:38] Speaker 2: to do? You got to win an Emmy, though, and
[1:26:42] Speaker 2: an Oscar.
[1:26:42] Speaker 1: Hmm.
[1:26:44] Speaker 2: Should've got nominated for train wreck. You gotta write a
[1:26:46] Speaker 2: few books too. A Grammy too? You need a Grammy too?
[1:26:48] Speaker 2: You gotta get a Grammy. For sure you gotta get
[1:26:50] Speaker 2: a Grammy. All right, cool. You gotta get a Grammy. Okay.
[1:26:52] Speaker 1: You can't be, you can't influence on everything. You gotta
[1:26:56] Speaker 1: get your golf swing together. It's a lot of shit
[1:26:58] Speaker 1: you gotta work on.
[1:26:58] Speaker 2: You gotta get that green jacket too. You gotta get
[1:27:00] Speaker 2: the green jacket. You don't get the double album for
[1:27:02] Speaker 2: those who... Double album for sure.
[1:27:04] Speaker 3: He's gonna make two albums. Take all these tracks, put
[1:27:07] Speaker 3: them on two albums. What's your reaction to Time Magazine
[1:27:10] Speaker 3: calling LeBron the most influential athlete of the century?
[1:27:13] Speaker 10: Hmm. So let's see, he's the ninth greatest basketball player ever,
[1:27:19] Speaker 10: NBA basketball.
[1:27:20] Speaker 2: According to some.
[1:27:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, according to some.
[1:27:22] Speaker 2: No, according to Skip. According to one.
[1:27:23] Speaker 4: According to many.
[1:27:24] Speaker 2: One person. Somebody else can feel that way. One person.
[1:27:27] Speaker 1: Somebody else can feel that way.
[1:27:29] Speaker 2: One is enough. Skip, I'm saying one is enough. One
[1:27:31] Speaker 2: is close to none. Skip Baxter. One of my favorite
[1:27:34] Speaker 2: pimps once said.
[1:27:35] Speaker 4: But Josiah, I told you when you asked me a
[1:27:38] Speaker 4: couple of weeks.
[1:27:38] Speaker 10: Back, longevity goat, he is. And it It ain't even close.
[1:27:46] Speaker 10: To go as long as he has, age 41, year 23,
[1:27:51] Speaker 10: is just all-time extraordinary. It's frankly, it's impossible, and I'm
[1:27:59] Speaker 10: going to knock on wood when I say this, but
[1:28:01] Speaker 10: he's never had a single surgery, and he has been
[1:28:04] Speaker 10: a high-contact basketball player.
[1:28:09] Speaker 4: Rim attacker, hard fouled, by lots of big men.
[1:28:14] Speaker 2: A rim attacker.
[1:28:18] Speaker 4: Yep.
[1:28:21] Speaker 10: And he's still standing, and I think he's going to
[1:28:23] Speaker 10: play a couple more years. I think we're going to
[1:28:25] Speaker 10: talk about that.
[1:28:26] Speaker 2: Inshallah. I feel like you're losing to something, man. No.
[1:28:28] Speaker 2: You're losing to something, man. No, I'm not. I'm giving him—
[1:28:32] Speaker 2: Medical health, a million dollars per year on his body.
[1:28:33] Speaker 1: A million dollars a year on his body. Who else
[1:28:36] Speaker 1: is doing that? Quality actor. You can't do that. can't
[1:28:40] Speaker 1: just find that type of shit anywhere. A million dollars
[1:28:44] Speaker 1: to burn?
[1:28:47] Speaker 2: All one dollar bills, apparently.
[1:28:49] Speaker 4: Make a good point.
[1:28:50] Speaker 2: You're an athlete. You know triathletes, man. A million dollars
[1:28:54] Speaker 2: to keep me? No, you're right.
[1:28:58] Speaker 10: The point is that influential is the operative word here, right?
[1:29:04] Speaker 10: And his influence through all this social justice commentary has
[1:29:11] Speaker 10: been also extraordinary. So I give you all of the above.
[1:29:15] Speaker 10: That's way beyond Jordan. But greatest player.
[1:29:19] Speaker 2: Flip it and chop it together.
[1:29:22] Speaker 10: Yeah, greatest player. There's just one and one only. And
[1:29:26] Speaker 10: everybody knows that deep down. And it's that guy who
[1:29:31] Speaker 10: used to play in Chicago. So that's the perspective on this.
[1:29:36] Speaker 10: But I give you that. And he earned that and
[1:29:41] Speaker 10: deserves it. And I don't think he's finished yet. So
[1:29:46] Speaker 10: that's going to be very... If he can play two
[1:29:48] Speaker 10: more years of the quality he just played this last one, man, again,
[1:29:54] Speaker 10: it doesn't make a goat case as in greatest ever player,
[1:29:58] Speaker 10: but It definitely makes a longevity go.
[1:30:01] Speaker 2: I'm disappointed, Skip.
[1:30:02] Speaker 1: One of us is going to have to take a side.
[1:30:05] Speaker 1: We can't both be congratulating him.
[1:30:09] Speaker 2: It's okay. It's 2026, guys. We don't know. Come on, man.
[1:30:11] Speaker 2: What the future holds. The most influential.
[1:30:13] Speaker 1: What is influence? Please, somebody enlighten me. What's the metric
[1:30:17] Speaker 1: of influence?
[1:30:18] Speaker 4: Speaking out.
[1:30:19] Speaker 10: I'm not saying he's Muhammad Ali, but because he didn't
[1:30:23] Speaker 10: have to risk what Ali risked to speak out.
[1:30:27] Speaker 1: Is influence, what, getting people to do what you do?
[1:30:31] Speaker 1: Getting people to go buy tickets to Space Jam when
[1:30:34] Speaker 1: it comes out?
[1:30:36] Speaker 2: Space Jam 2, by and large. Just asking. Better than
[1:30:39] Speaker 2: Space Jam 1.
[1:30:39] Speaker 5: I guess it should have went like 10 million.
[1:30:41] Speaker 2: Better third act.
[1:30:42] Speaker 5: First day. Steph Curry, you know, got certain guys who
[1:30:46] Speaker 5: are influential.
[1:30:50] Speaker 4: Yeah, he has been.
[1:30:52] Speaker 5: I think Steph is more influential than LeBron.
[1:30:55] Speaker 4: In speaking out?
[1:30:57] Speaker 1: Well, just in the last 10 years, as far as influence.
[1:31:04] Speaker 5: Would you say Magic Johnson is influential?
[1:31:06] Speaker 2: Yep.
[1:31:07] Speaker 5: In what ways?
[1:31:11] Speaker 4: Tone setter, opinion maker, leader, community leader.
[1:31:19] Speaker 2: Open movie theaters in the hood shot.
[1:31:22] Speaker 5: I'm influencing you to go and do what I do.
[1:31:25] Speaker 1: Like if you're influencing the future generations to be more
[1:31:30] Speaker 1: like Magic Johnson, I would consider that. But Magic stands
[1:31:33] Speaker 1: alone because it's about access. It's about who you stand
[1:31:36] Speaker 1: next to. So it's like, all right, what is LeBron influenced?
[1:31:41] Speaker 1: When we're talking about influence to be over the last
[1:31:44] Speaker 1: 100 years of an athlete, what is his influence greater
[1:31:49] Speaker 1: than Tom Brady's or.
[1:31:53] Speaker 5: Cristiano Ronaldo?
[1:31:54] Speaker 2: He's built an empire.
[1:31:56] Speaker 5: So they all have empires.
[1:31:58] Speaker 10: Well, LeBron is led speaking out for racial justice, right?
[1:32:02] Speaker 4: Has he been an athletic leader?
[1:32:04] Speaker 8: Who has Magic put on? Like that we know of.
[1:32:07] Speaker 8: I mean, I'm just saying, I know he's a great
[1:32:09] Speaker 8: business person. I know Tom Brady's a great, but who
[1:32:11] Speaker 8: are they put on? Like, I mean, who's around, huh?
[1:32:16] Speaker 8: I think Giselle put Tom Brady on the board. I'm
[1:32:18] Speaker 8: just telling you.
[1:32:19] Speaker 2: Giselle. He has more emotion. He put Giselle out there.
[1:32:23] Speaker 2: She didn't take the bait. Giselle has more emotion.
[1:32:24] Speaker 8: I'm just saying, man, we got a guy. I mean,
[1:32:26] Speaker 8: we got a guy that came in. I mean, the
[1:32:28] Speaker 8: first time I heard about LeBron James from ABCD camp,
[1:32:31] Speaker 8: and then he was on the cover of Slam Magazine
[1:32:33] Speaker 8: with Sebastian Telfair. And I just think from that moment on,
[1:32:36] Speaker 8: he set the tone for what it is for an
[1:32:39] Speaker 8: athlete to become a billionaire. I mean, he's the first
[1:32:42] Speaker 8: active player ever. to play in an NBA that's a billionaire,
[1:32:45] Speaker 8: put his guys on, have a billion-dollar empire from Rich
[1:32:48] Speaker 8: Paul to Maverick to all these guys. So if we're
[1:32:51] Speaker 8: talking about influence and being able to break bread and
[1:32:54] Speaker 8: actually be able to do it his way and come
[1:32:57] Speaker 8: into the league and be successful, and also being told
[1:33:00] Speaker 8: that by the time he got to the league with
[1:33:02] Speaker 8: $ 100 million, he wouldn't be able to be an NBA champion,
[1:33:04] Speaker 8: he wasn't going to be able to.
[1:33:06] Speaker 2: Answer the calls, and he's done that.
[1:33:07] Speaker 8: So we're talking about a guy who's the American dream,
[1:33:10] Speaker 8: who's been hitting it from every angle, from you know,
[1:33:13] Speaker 8: from his relationship, from his mom, just alone, just not even, like,
[1:33:18] Speaker 8: you know, growing up without a father figure and being
[1:33:20] Speaker 8: able to You know, being able to just do what
[1:33:23] Speaker 8: everybody said I couldn't do.
[1:33:25] Speaker 5: Well, I'm still talking about influence.
[1:33:26] Speaker 2: I mean, that is influence. I mean, we're talking about
[1:33:28] Speaker 2: the American dream.
[1:33:29] Speaker 5: Allen Iverson braids.
[1:33:30] Speaker 2: Allen Iverson braids. Very influential. Very influential. Right, right, right.
[1:33:33] Speaker 2: That is. That's a culture thing. Right, right, that is.
[1:33:35] Speaker 2: That's a culture thing.
[1:33:36] Speaker 1: It's an influence. It's an influence of a culture. Right,
[1:33:38] Speaker 1: it's a culture thing. A culture of hip-hop and basketball.
[1:33:41] Speaker 2: Motherfuckers been having braids since the 70s and 60s.
[1:33:43] Speaker 1: But not wanting to play ball like that and have
[1:33:45] Speaker 1: the dim type of braids, right?
[1:33:47] Speaker 2: Look at Michael Jordan, the Jordan brand.
[1:33:51] Speaker 10: Okay.
[1:33:51] Speaker 5: The logo.
[1:33:52] Speaker 2: OK. Right.
[1:33:53] Speaker 5: The logo itself is influential.
[1:33:56] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's powerful. Very, very powerful.
[1:33:58] Speaker 5: Steph Curry's jump shot.
[1:34:00] Speaker 2: Very powerful.
[1:34:01] Speaker 1: This is a very influential as far as what you
[1:34:06] Speaker 1: take from him. And you see it and you like
[1:34:09] Speaker 1: we want to I want to be I want to
[1:34:10] Speaker 1: be like Mike. um steph curry want to shoot from
[1:34:13] Speaker 1: here alan iverson i want the sleeve.
[1:34:15] Speaker 8: We're talking about we're talking about we're just still your
[1:34:18] Speaker 8: own basketball.
[1:34:18] Speaker 1: Everywhere like just you go outside it's like you got
[1:34:21] Speaker 1: the sleeve you had alan iverson sleeve with the braids
[1:34:24] Speaker 1: just from what you what you've seen them do what
[1:34:27] Speaker 1: is lebron's signature influential mark in the culture serious yeah
[1:34:33] Speaker 1: what's his signature.
[1:34:33] Speaker 9: Are you serious Like, if there was a blueprint to
[1:34:36] Speaker 9: how you want to get it done, I think LeBron.
[1:34:39] Speaker 2: James is the blueprint.
[1:34:40] Speaker 5: Well, LeBron James is it.
[1:34:41] Speaker 2: Well, I'm saying the influence. That is influence.
[1:34:43] Speaker 8: I mean, if you go look at Kevin Durant, the
[1:34:45] Speaker 8: moves that Kevin Durant is making.
[1:34:46] Speaker 2: What does that logo look like?
[1:34:48] Speaker 8: It's the crown. I mean, his logo is the crown.
[1:34:52] Speaker 8: I mean, what are you talking about?
[1:34:53] Speaker 2: He don't need a logo to be an influential. The clutch.
[1:34:56] Speaker 2: He don't need that. I mean. He don't need that?
[1:34:59] Speaker 9: His name is his logo. So Mamba mentality is an
[1:35:03] Speaker 9: influential statement. When you mention LeBron James.
[1:35:06] Speaker 2: Yeah, just alone.
[1:35:08] Speaker 4: Alone.
[1:35:09] Speaker 9: He doesn't need a logo to identify with that. It
[1:35:12] Speaker 9: just so happened Jordan had the logo. It just so
[1:35:17] Speaker 9: happened that was created for him. But Michael Jordan name
[1:35:21] Speaker 9: is the influential part of it.
[1:35:24] Speaker 2: It's called branding and marketing. It is. He doesn't have
[1:35:28] Speaker 2: his own brand. If that's what you're trying to say, yes.
[1:35:30] Speaker 1: No, I'm asking what is influence when you have identifiable markers.
[1:35:36] Speaker 5: Of your influence?
[1:35:38] Speaker 1: The braids, the shoes, the jump shot.
[1:35:42] Speaker 2: Which one of them guys have a school? What's your name?
[1:35:46] Speaker 1: All the guys that you're naming, that influential guy that
[1:35:50] Speaker 1: you're naming, that all the influence that those guys have
[1:35:53] Speaker 1: had has been positive, yes.
[1:35:55] Speaker 2: Magic Johnson style. Which one of them dudes has a school?
[1:36:01] Speaker 5: What do they need a school for?
[1:36:02] Speaker 1: For influence. Magic has hospitals. But that's influence. Magic has
[1:36:06] Speaker 1: hospitals and movie theaters. He owns three teams. That's a
[1:36:10] Speaker 1: lot of bigger. Yeah, that's business stuff.
[1:36:12] Speaker 2: So is the school. He paid a million dollars to
[1:36:15] Speaker 2: be attached to the school. So what LeBron does, it's
[1:36:17] Speaker 2: not business. Starting a club. Starting a whole. I'm not
[1:36:19] Speaker 2: saying none of that. I'm asking what is the influence?
[1:36:22] Speaker 2: It's the blueprint of how to be successful. How I
[1:36:25] Speaker 2: walked into the league.
[1:36:25] Speaker 9: How to be successful as a young black man in
[1:36:28] Speaker 9: this country.
[1:36:29] Speaker 8: KD not trying to do the same thing Brian doing?
[1:36:32] Speaker 9: How to be successful growing up without a father, single
[1:36:35] Speaker 9: mother household.
[1:36:36] Speaker 2: How to be successful.
[1:36:38] Speaker 9: As a young black man. How to stay out of trouble.
[1:36:40] Speaker 9: How never to go to prison. How to take care
[1:36:43] Speaker 9: of your loved ones. Is that a PDF you can
[1:36:46] Speaker 9: download online?
[1:36:47] Speaker 1: Why would you need that? Because these are all the
[1:36:50] Speaker 1: influential things that you're naming. Because it's like a book.
[1:36:54] Speaker 1: It's like something tangible I can have and say, I
[1:36:58] Speaker 1: got these things.
[1:36:58] Speaker 9: You can Google LeBron James and look at from age 15, 16, 17,
[1:37:02] Speaker 9: 18 to 41 what it has endured to be successful.
[1:37:09] Speaker 1: At that level of success on the floor and off
[1:37:14] Speaker 1: the floor.
[1:37:14] Speaker 2: So where is the influence? Not tarnishing your name, not
[1:37:17] Speaker 2: tarnishing your image. What do you mean? What is the influence?
[1:37:21] Speaker 2: I want to be like Mike, Wheaties, Gatorade. Like these
[1:37:26] Speaker 2: are branding, identifiers of influence. And they were in the
[1:37:30] Speaker 2: last century.
[1:37:31] Speaker 9: If we're being honest, they were all in the last century.
[1:37:35] Speaker 9: So we're talking about This century, which is the last
[1:37:39] Speaker 9: 26 years. They were in the last century before it
[1:37:41] Speaker 9: turned 2000.
[1:37:42] Speaker 1: You know that when it turns 2000? That's a decade. No,
[1:37:45] Speaker 1: that's a decade.
[1:37:45] Speaker 2: It's 10 years, Rashad. The century is 100.
[1:37:48] Speaker 1: From 2000 on is the start of the 21st century.
[1:37:51] Speaker 2: Start of the 21st century.
[1:37:53] Speaker 1: The other guys were 2000 and before. Now from 2000
[1:37:57] Speaker 1: to now, it's LeBron James.
[1:37:59] Speaker 2: The 20th century was the last. So the last 26 years.
[1:38:02] Speaker 2: That's what it is. Yes. That's what we're talking about.
[1:38:06] Speaker 1: We do remember that the last 26 years of watching
[1:38:09] Speaker 1: sports and all of that, there have been other people.
[1:38:12] Speaker 1: We're not just talking sports.
[1:38:14] Speaker 2: We're talking everything, though.
[1:38:15] Speaker 1: Steph Curry has been more influential the last 10 years
[1:38:19] Speaker 1: than LeBron James.
[1:38:19] Speaker 2: No, he has not. LeBron in the last 26? In
[1:38:21] Speaker 2: the last 24 years?
[1:38:21] Speaker 7: No.
[1:38:21] Speaker 1: Before that, LeBron. It may have been for 21 years.
[1:38:23] Speaker 1: Before Steph came. 23 of the 26 years of this century.
[1:38:30] Speaker 9: LeBron James was playing in the National Basketball Association.
[1:38:34] Speaker 1: It was Kobe Bryant from 2000 to 2011. He wasn't
[1:38:39] Speaker 1: the most influential. He still wasn't. He was not the
[1:38:42] Speaker 1: most influential. LeBron James was not more influential.
[1:38:45] Speaker 2: Yes, he was.
[1:38:46] Speaker 8: LeBron James has been more influential since he got into
[1:38:49] Speaker 8: the NBA, bro.
[1:38:49] Speaker 1: When Kobe Bryant was playing in the NBA, the only
[1:38:52] Speaker 1: other person would be Allen Iverson. We don't want to
[1:38:54] Speaker 1: start throwing mud in here.
[1:38:56] Speaker 8: No, I know what we're trying to do, but we're
[1:38:58] Speaker 8: not doing that.
[1:39:00] Speaker 1: So we're speaking facts, right? Are we talking facts on
[1:39:02] Speaker 1: this couch or are we speaking real things?
[1:39:04] Speaker 2: Yes, and I'm sorry, Skip.
[1:39:05] Speaker 9: People are going to get mad, but Kobe has a
[1:39:08] Speaker 9: tarnishment on his record, dog. The shit in Colorado people
[1:39:12] Speaker 9: didn't forget about. I hate to bring it up, but
[1:39:14] Speaker 9: it happened.
[1:39:15] Speaker 2: That's facts.
[1:39:16] Speaker 1: It happened.
[1:39:17] Speaker 9: So that tarnishes his influence in numerous ways with a.
[1:39:22] Speaker 2: Lot of people. Like, I hear you, yes. You said facts, though.
[1:39:27] Speaker 2: This is a fact.
[1:39:28] Speaker 1: So you said it ruins it with some people.
[1:39:31] Speaker 2: Yes, with some. But the fact is he's still a
[1:39:34] Speaker 2: great player. Nobody said he wasn't. Nobody said it. Nobody
[1:39:36] Speaker 2: said he wasn't. And the Mamba mentality is a thing, right?
[1:39:41] Speaker 2: He did everything he could. The Mamba mentality. He also
[1:39:43] Speaker 2: quit on his teammates, too.
[1:39:45] Speaker 8: So if you want to bring up Mamba mentality, he
[1:39:46] Speaker 8: also quit on his team when he had Mamba mentality.
[1:39:49] Speaker 2: Is it a thing? We don't want to start throwing shade. No,
[1:39:51] Speaker 2: he's doing that. He's trying to make that happen. But
[1:39:54] Speaker 2: we're not going to let that happen. He won two championships.
[1:39:57] Speaker 9: Yes, but the facts are the last 26 years, right?
[1:40:02] Speaker 9: Let's exclude Kobe from the last 26 years since the
[1:40:06] Speaker 9: new century had turned over.
[1:40:08] Speaker 2: There has not been a more.
[1:40:10] Speaker 1: Influential of an athlete, man, person to go by than
[1:40:16] Speaker 1: LeBron James.
[1:40:17] Speaker 2: And he is the Muhammad Ali. And Skip, to your point, Skip,
[1:40:20] Speaker 2: I think he's the Muhammad Ali of this era. I'm
[1:40:22] Speaker 2: not going to go that far.
[1:40:23] Speaker 10: I am.
[1:40:23] Speaker 2: Let's not do that, Brandon.
[1:40:25] Speaker 8: I got to agree with you.
[1:40:27] Speaker 2: This man with the principles, beliefs. We're not going to
[1:40:29] Speaker 2: do that. No, that's fine. Fine?
[1:40:31] Speaker 1: What the fuck are you talking about?
[1:40:33] Speaker 2: At the peak of his career? At the peak of
[1:40:35] Speaker 2: his career. LeBron James wouldn't have did that shit.
[1:40:37] Speaker 1: Why?
[1:40:37] Speaker 2: I don't need to. I don't need to do that.
[1:40:40] Speaker 2: I don't need to do that. I don't need to
[1:40:41] Speaker 2: do that. I don't need to do that. You just said.
[1:40:44] Speaker 2: I got it. I got it. I got it on
[1:40:46] Speaker 2: this team three times.
[1:40:48] Speaker 1: I got to agree with what Rich Wall said.
[1:40:50] Speaker 2: Rich Wall said it. I got to agree with that.
[1:40:53] Speaker 2: I got to agree with that. I got to agree
[1:40:55] Speaker 2: with that. I got to agree with that. Hold on.
[1:40:58] Speaker 2: Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
[1:41:00] Speaker 2: Hold on.
[1:41:00] Speaker 1: Hold on.
[1:41:01] Speaker 7: Hold on.
[1:41:01] Speaker 2: Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
[1:41:02] Speaker 7: Hold on.
[1:41:11] Speaker 1: Belief of for other people because what you know, no, no,
[1:41:13] Speaker 1: no because of my religion answer it wasn't religion Do
[1:41:21] Speaker 1: you think any other purpose do you think LeBron James
[1:41:26] Speaker 1: would have put his career on hold? And at this
[1:41:31] Speaker 1: peak do you think LeBron James will what the prison is?
[1:41:35] Speaker 1: for a different belief.
[1:41:38] Speaker 2: Do you believe that? I don't know. I don't know.
[1:41:41] Speaker 2: I'm not LeBron. So why do you go with what
[1:41:43] Speaker 2: somebody else said then? I believe it though.
[1:41:45] Speaker 8: I agree with that because if we're talking about the.
[1:41:47] Speaker 1: I just asked you. You said you didn't know. So
[1:41:48] Speaker 1: how do you believe it if you don't know? I
[1:41:50] Speaker 1: got to go to prison tomorrow. That's what Muhammad Ali did.
[1:41:52] Speaker 2: That's what he did. Muhammad Ali went to prison. He's
[1:41:54] Speaker 2: bigger than Muhammad Ali. No, he's not. He's bigger than
[1:41:57] Speaker 2: Muhammad Ali. No, he's not. Yes, he is. LeBron James
[1:42:00] Speaker 2: is bigger than Muhammad Ali. Now you doing shit for clickbait. No,
[1:42:02] Speaker 2: I'm not doing that. That's clickbait shit. That's clickbait. He's not.
[1:42:05] Speaker 2: He's American Dream. That's clickbait. He's American Dream.
[1:42:08] Speaker 6: That is clickbait.
[1:42:09] Speaker 2: He's American Dream.
[1:42:10] Speaker 1: LeBron James is American Dream.
[1:42:11] Speaker 2: He's American Dream. Yes, I agree with you. You said
[1:42:13] Speaker 2: that dumb shit about Muhammad Ali. A billion dollars while
[1:42:15] Speaker 2: I'm playing.
[1:42:16] Speaker 1: I was with you when you said that dumb shit
[1:42:18] Speaker 1: about Muhammad Ali.
[1:42:19] Speaker 2: I don't have to go to prison because of that.
[1:42:22] Speaker 1: He ain't never, he would never be Muhammad Ali. He
[1:42:24] Speaker 1: is who he is in his own right. He would
[1:42:27] Speaker 1: never be Muhammad Ali.
[1:42:28] Speaker 2: He did it better. He did it better. He did
[1:42:30] Speaker 2: it better. He did it better. He did it better.
[1:42:32] Speaker 2: He did it better. He did it better. He did
[1:42:35] Speaker 2: it better. He did it better. No, he didn't. Yes,
[1:42:37] Speaker 2: he did. To me. To me. He did it his way.
[1:42:39] Speaker 2: It's my opinion. Your opinion is mine. That's your opinion.
[1:42:42] Speaker 2: That's your opinion. Your opinion is your opinion. This is
[1:42:45] Speaker 2: a fact. And I'm not rolling. This man went to.
[1:42:47] Speaker 1: Prison for a different belief in his prime. This is
[1:42:50] Speaker 1: a fact.
[1:42:51] Speaker 2: I grew up without a dad. Me too. And I
[1:42:53] Speaker 2: had to figure it out. I did too. And I
[1:42:54] Speaker 2: had to figure it out. A lot of people did.
[1:42:56] Speaker 2: And I had to figure it out. Not like him.
[1:42:57] Speaker 2: A lot of people did. Not like him. Not like him.
[1:42:59] Speaker 2: What made him so different? He was number one pick.
[1:43:01] Speaker 2: I was number one pick. Not like him. What made
[1:43:04] Speaker 2: him so different? I was a millionaire. He a millionaire.
[1:43:05] Speaker 2: It's all the same. You said, what make him different? Yeah,
[1:43:07] Speaker 2: what make him different?
[1:43:08] Speaker 8: I answer the call. Whenever they talking about me, I
[1:43:10] Speaker 8: answer the fucking call. That's what makes me fucking different.
[1:43:13] Speaker 2: Who? Whenever somebody say LeBron, I answer the fucking call.
[1:43:16] Speaker 2: And what does that mean? In every way. American dream.
[1:43:18] Speaker 2: Hold on. American dream. That's why I want to make it. Hey, yo,
[1:43:21] Speaker 2: pull up the cover. So what? The cover. The cover.
[1:43:24] Speaker 2: The cover is what it is. So what point? The
[1:43:26] Speaker 2: cover is what it is. So what point? The cover
[1:43:28] Speaker 2: is what it is. What point are you making? The
[1:43:30] Speaker 2: cover is what it is.
[1:43:31] Speaker 1: What point are you making is the cover.
[1:43:32] Speaker 2: Is what it is. So what point are you guys
[1:43:34] Speaker 2: are not in the same conversation? What point are you making?
[1:43:36] Speaker 2: Guys are not in the same. What point are you making?
[1:43:39] Speaker 2: Who's not in the conversation? Nobody's in the same conversation.
[1:43:42] Speaker 2: LeBron James, when it comes to hoop. There it is.
[1:43:45] Speaker 2: It's about everything. Basketball, life, everything. The American dream. I
[1:43:49] Speaker 2: just said he's the American dream. I said he's the
[1:43:51] Speaker 2: American dream.
[1:43:51] Speaker 1: And I agree with you until you said that shit
[1:43:53] Speaker 1: about Muhammad Ali.
[1:43:54] Speaker 2: And I'm still rolling. And I'm still rolling. And I'm
[1:43:57] Speaker 2: still rolling. That's fine. I ain't got to go to
[1:44:00] Speaker 2: prison to make me great. I don't have to go
[1:44:02] Speaker 2: to prison because I want to go that route.
[1:44:06] Speaker 9: That's an idiotic statement that you said somebody else made
[1:44:09] Speaker 9: that you believe in.
[1:44:10] Speaker 2: If he want to get here, he got to go
[1:44:12] Speaker 2: to jail. He got to go to jail? No, he don't.
[1:44:13] Speaker 1: So it don't even matter.
[1:44:14] Speaker 2: No, he ain't got to go to jail. No, no.
[1:44:15] Speaker 2: He said it's his opinion. He said it's his opinion.
[1:44:18] Speaker 2: For other people's opinion?
[1:44:19] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:44:20] Speaker 2: In order for it to be right for me?
[1:44:22] Speaker 4: For me?
[1:44:22] Speaker 2: So he said Rich Paul said it so he believed it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No,
[1:44:25] Speaker 2: I believe that statement. Rich Paul said it so you
[1:44:27] Speaker 2: believe it. I like that statement. I like it. I
[1:44:28] Speaker 2: agree with the statement. I agree with the statement. You
[1:44:31] Speaker 2: agree with somebody else's false statement. I agree with the statement.
[1:44:33] Speaker 2: Somebody else's false statement. Okay, that's you.
[1:44:35] Speaker 1: No, somebody else's false.
[1:44:36] Speaker 2: That's you. That's what you agree on. That's fine. It's
[1:44:39] Speaker 2: a fact. That right there is a fact. It is.
[1:44:42] Speaker 2: And I'm with you with this.
[1:44:44] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:44:44] Speaker 8: So however I feel, that's why I'm rolling.
[1:44:46] Speaker 2: It ain't your thought. So it ain't how you feel.
[1:44:49] Speaker 2: I like it. I like it. I like it. So
[1:44:51] Speaker 2: we'll say that it ain't how you feel. I like it.
[1:44:53] Speaker 8: And I do feel like that. That was a great statement.
[1:44:56] Speaker 8: That was a great thing.
[1:44:58] Speaker 2: I'm going off this statement and I agree with that statement.
[1:45:01] Speaker 2: I agree with the statement. So I'm going off. You
[1:45:02] Speaker 2: didn't think of it. I agree with it. So I'm
[1:45:05] Speaker 2: going off. You agree, but it ain't sure.
[1:45:06] Speaker 8: It's like people agree that LeBron James is number nine
[1:45:09] Speaker 8: from Skip.
[1:45:09] Speaker 2: They agree with that. I agree with what Rich Paul said.
[1:45:12] Speaker 2: And I'm rolling. Ain't nobody agreeing with that. Okay. Skip
[1:45:14] Speaker 2: is by himself. I agree with Skip. He's the ninth
[1:45:17] Speaker 2: best basketball player of all time. He's top ten. That's fine.
[1:45:20] Speaker 2: Top ten. Okay. See, that's fine. No, see, that's his opinion. Yeah, yeah.
[1:45:25] Speaker 2: You got to say it right. You got to say
[1:45:28] Speaker 2: it right. That's his opinion. Top ten. He put a
[1:45:30] Speaker 2: number on it. Yeah, it's getting fucked up. It's getting
[1:45:33] Speaker 2: fucked up. It's getting fucked up. It's getting fucked up.
[1:45:37] Speaker 2: It's getting fucked up. I ain't going to tell you
[1:45:38] Speaker 2: where I'm going to put him right now. He could
[1:45:41] Speaker 2: be ten. He's on the song for sure.
[1:45:43] Speaker 1: He could be ten. He could be seven. He could
[1:45:45] Speaker 1: be three. It don't matter. Whatever I'm feeling. Don't piss
[1:45:48] Speaker 1: me off today, LeBron. Are you ten, goddamn?
[1:45:50] Speaker 10: Wait a second, he's four and six in finals? And
[1:45:53] Speaker 10: would be three and seven if not for Ray Allen?
[1:45:56] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:45:56] Speaker 9: Hey, well, guess what? That's what teammates are for. Hey, well, goddamn,
[1:46:00] Speaker 9: that's what teammates are for.
[1:46:01] Speaker 3: Speaking of teammates, Kenyon, so in an interview with Time,
[1:46:04] Speaker 3: LeBron addressed a variety of topics, including the narrative around
[1:46:07] Speaker 3: ring chasing and star players teaming up with each other, saying, quote,
[1:46:12] Speaker 3: it's no different from someone in business going from one
[1:46:15] Speaker 3: place to the next place because they get a better
[1:46:17] Speaker 3: opportunity to to be around better people. In sports, sometimes
[1:46:20] Speaker 3: people get so caught up in he should do this
[1:46:23] Speaker 3: on his own. I don't play tennis. I don't play golf.
[1:46:26] Speaker 3: The way I grew up is we've got to do
[1:46:28] Speaker 3: this together as a team. So teamwork does make the
[1:46:31] Speaker 3: dream work. That is what they say.
[1:46:34] Speaker 2: It does. It's the truth. It's the truth. Okay. Is
[1:46:36] Speaker 2: that a fact that we got? Okay, you do. Friends,
[1:46:39] Speaker 2: how many of us have them?
[1:46:40] Speaker 1: Everything is a fact.
[1:46:41] Speaker 2: It's all a fact. I mean, if you want to
[1:46:42] Speaker 2: be dumb and stay in the dumb situation, that's on you.
[1:46:45] Speaker 1: That's all.
[1:46:46] Speaker 2: Hey, some people like to just stay stuck.
[1:46:48] Speaker 8: Me, like you said, I like to do business with
[1:46:50] Speaker 8: people that can.
[1:46:51] Speaker 3: No, Mr. B, you should do it with people who
[1:46:53] Speaker 3: are inexperienced and you should guide them.
[1:46:54] Speaker 2: And lead them to excellence.
[1:46:56] Speaker 11: Okay.
[1:46:56] Speaker 2: Skip, what are your.
[1:46:57] Speaker 3: Thoughts on LeBron saying players teaming up with other stars
[1:47:00] Speaker 3: isn't cheating?
[1:47:02] Speaker 4: I had absolutely no problem. You can look it up.
[1:47:05] Speaker 10: I did not criticize LeBron for leaving Cleveland the first
[1:47:08] Speaker 10: time to join forces with obviously Dwayne Wade and Chris
[1:47:11] Speaker 10: Bosh and Pat Riley.
[1:47:15] Speaker 4: He needed that And they needed him.
[1:47:20] Speaker 2: And I.
[1:47:22] Speaker 10: Just don't condemn him for that. I didn't look down
[1:47:25] Speaker 10: on him. I just thought it was time for him
[1:47:29] Speaker 10: to go try to chase rings. And I believe it
[1:47:32] Speaker 10: was worthy ring chasing to go join forces with those
[1:47:36] Speaker 10: guys and take a little less money to do so.
[1:47:38] Speaker 4: So I appreciated that.
[1:47:41] Speaker 10: And yet that first finals, they're up two games to one,
[1:47:45] Speaker 10: and he fell apart. the chosen one became the frozen
[1:47:48] Speaker 10: one in that finals. But the point is, I'm fine
[1:47:53] Speaker 10: with what he's saying. By the way, he does play golf.
[1:47:56] Speaker 10: He's like obsessed with golf. So he does understand. He
[1:47:59] Speaker 10: just doesn't play it for a living. So what he's saying,
[1:48:04] Speaker 10: I've never had an issue with him, quote unquote, ring chasing.
[1:48:08] Speaker 10: Kevin Durant was the ultimate ring chaser. He, I know
[1:48:11] Speaker 10: for a fact, said, After nine years in Oklahoma City,
[1:48:15] Speaker 10: I'll never win a championship with that guy as my
[1:48:18] Speaker 10: point guard.
[1:48:18] Speaker 4: And my primary decision maker.
[1:48:20] Speaker 10: That's a fact and he said I'm going to go
[1:48:22] Speaker 10: join forces with a team that we had down three
[1:48:24] Speaker 10: games to one I'm going to go to the bay
[1:48:27] Speaker 10: and join Steph and Clay and Draymond and watch what
[1:48:30] Speaker 10: happens and he he stood up and lived up to
[1:48:33] Speaker 10: that he was the finals MVP the next two years
[1:48:36] Speaker 10: and I I didn't ever criticize him one second for
[1:48:39] Speaker 10: that It's life, and LeBron's right about business. That happens
[1:48:43] Speaker 10: in business all the time. So I'm good with that.
[1:48:49] Speaker 10: I'm not good with LeBron being the GOAT, but I'm
[1:48:51] Speaker 10: good with that.
[1:48:52] Speaker 2: There was no part of that question. Okay, I understand.
[1:48:55] Speaker 2: Just to keep it real. LeBron's GOAT.
[1:48:58] Speaker 1: Perspective, yeah.
[1:49:01] Speaker 2: I love it. There's no portion of that question related
[1:49:06] Speaker 2: to anything. Go talk. But let's shift over to this side.
[1:49:09] Speaker 3: Kenny, what are your thoughts on LeBron saying players teaming
[1:49:11] Speaker 3: up with other stars isn't cheating? Stars joining forces to
[1:49:16] Speaker 3: be successful. Isn't that the American dream to want to
[1:49:18] Speaker 3: succeed in life?
[1:49:19] Speaker 2: It is.
[1:49:21] Speaker 9: It definitely is the American dream to want to succeed
[1:49:24] Speaker 9: in everything that you do, especially in sports. I don't
[1:49:35] Speaker 9: think it was the The leaving Cleveland, that was the issue.
[1:49:42] Speaker 9: I think it was the way he went about the leaving, right?
[1:49:48] Speaker 9: That rubbed people the wrong way. And then you get
[1:49:53] Speaker 9: there and then all y'all on the stage, the one,
[1:49:57] Speaker 9: not one championship, but two, three, four, five. I think
[1:50:01] Speaker 9: it was all of that that people had a problem with.
[1:50:08] Speaker 9: Hooper thing, for me, you look at other guys that
[1:50:13] Speaker 9: probably wasn't in the best winning situation when their career
[1:50:16] Speaker 9: first started. They might have had a little success here
[1:50:19] Speaker 9: and there. Guys that stuck with it, with their original team.
[1:50:24] Speaker 9: It paid off for some. Some it didn't. But to
[1:50:30] Speaker 9: stick it out for some was the move. But for him,
[1:50:34] Speaker 9: he felt he needed a change of environment, a change
[1:50:36] Speaker 9: of knowing how to win, being in the finals and
[1:50:39] Speaker 9: getting swept in Cleveland against San Antonio and things like
[1:50:44] Speaker 9: that is.
[1:50:45] Speaker 2: It's demoralizing, you know?
[1:50:50] Speaker 9: So if you're a competitor, which I think he is,
[1:50:53] Speaker 9: he wanted the best chance to win. So you can't
[1:50:56] Speaker 9: fault him in that regard. But like I said, I
[1:50:58] Speaker 9: think people had a problem with the leading up to
[1:51:02] Speaker 9: the leaving. He could have made the decision signing with Miami,
[1:51:06] Speaker 9: not did the press conference, and some would have had
[1:51:09] Speaker 9: a gripe. Probably the fans of Cleveland, of course, had
[1:51:12] Speaker 9: a problem with the whole situation, but the outside noise was,
[1:51:16] Speaker 9: I think, the I'm going to South Beach thing. I
[1:51:19] Speaker 9: think it was the thing that people had an issue with,
[1:51:21] Speaker 9: I think. But if you want to go win, you
[1:51:23] Speaker 9: want to go win, man. So it is what it is.
[1:51:24] Speaker 1: Okay, and Will Smith had a whole song about going
[1:51:26] Speaker 1: to Miami, and people loved it.
[1:51:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, I dig it, but you know what I'm saying?
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: It's just.
[1:51:32] Speaker 9: And he gets compared to Kobe, Dirk, Tim, the guys
[1:51:39] Speaker 9: that stuck with one team. Unfortunately, if you get put
[1:51:43] Speaker 9: in that box because of the Michael Jordans and the
[1:51:46] Speaker 9: Magic Johnsons, those guys, because of your quote-unquote greatness, you
[1:51:51] Speaker 9: get put in that box where those guys did it
[1:51:54] Speaker 9: with one team. And they frowned upon it because of that,
[1:51:58] Speaker 9: I think. But like I said, if you want to win,
[1:52:00] Speaker 9: you want to win. More power to the man. He
[1:52:02] Speaker 9: made his grown man, like I stated at the time,
[1:52:04] Speaker 9: his grown man, he can make whatever decisions he want
[1:52:06] Speaker 9: to make for his career. And he did that, and
[1:52:09] Speaker 9: he benefited from it. He got two of them. So,
[1:52:10] Speaker 9: down there, it.
[1:52:13] Speaker 1: Is what it is. I mean, I just believe in wartime, man,
[1:52:19] Speaker 1: when it comes down to knowing that you have a
[1:52:23] Speaker 1: bunch of troops that you got to lead. This is
[1:52:25] Speaker 1: your army. This is your kingdom. This is your throne.
[1:52:28] Speaker 1: And for you to leave at any point, to go
[1:52:31] Speaker 1: fight somebody else. It's just weird energy for me. It
[1:52:35] Speaker 1: always has been. I didn't like any of the people
[1:52:37] Speaker 1: that I respected that did that. And I think that
[1:52:40] Speaker 1: if you go back and say Michael Jordan in 1990,
[1:52:43] Speaker 1: going into 1991, goes to play with Hakeem Olajuwon and
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: the Houston Rockets, they won't win three in a row?
[1:52:50] Speaker 1: They're not going to look at Michael like, why are
[1:52:53] Speaker 1: you going to go play with Hakeem? They're not going
[1:52:58] Speaker 1: to think something of it. Like, you guys are cheating.
[1:53:00] Speaker 1: What the fuck is going on here? Like, come on.
[1:53:06] Speaker 1: To me, it's the integrity part of when you make
[1:53:11] Speaker 1: a decision like that. Because in 2011, you didn't win
[1:53:13] Speaker 1: the championship when you first got there.
[1:53:16] Speaker 5: So, is playing with other great players cheating?
[1:53:20] Speaker 4: No.
[1:53:21] Speaker 5: It's not cheating.
[1:53:22] Speaker 1: But it's like putting an all-star player roster together on
[1:53:26] Speaker 1: NBA 2K and just going up against random rosters that
[1:53:31] Speaker 1: don't have any superstars on them or one and you
[1:53:35] Speaker 1: got four. You can look at it like cheating. Like, damn,
[1:53:39] Speaker 1: you're going to use a custom roster against me, bro?
[1:53:41] Speaker 1: I'm using the regular rosters. This is default.
[1:53:44] Speaker 5: I'm playing them.
[1:53:46] Speaker 2: You're playing all time team against my regular team. This
[1:53:49] Speaker 2: is Sacramento Kings. Come on, man.
[1:53:51] Speaker 1: Like I got the, I got the trash team. You
[1:53:54] Speaker 1: got the all time team. So it is, it looks
[1:53:57] Speaker 1: a certain way for certain people, man. When you look
[1:54:00] Speaker 1: at how many players on your team and how, what
[1:54:02] Speaker 1: you need, when you don't need that, you literally got
[1:54:05] Speaker 1: there as many times as you could without none of
[1:54:07] Speaker 1: these good players. You can win without them. So it is,
[1:54:11] Speaker 1: It is a frowning thing. When you look at it,
[1:54:13] Speaker 1: you go, damn, man. You need that dude?
[1:54:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, he wasn't the one in Cleveland.
[1:54:19] Speaker 5: You need that dude?
[1:54:20] Speaker 1: Because my dude lost a dude that they say he
[1:54:23] Speaker 1: was riding on the backpack, and he was like, you
[1:54:25] Speaker 1: know what? In order for y'all to respect me, I
[1:54:27] Speaker 1: got to win without him. And he went and did
[1:54:30] Speaker 1: that without changing teams. So when you look at the
[1:54:33] Speaker 1: integrity side of trying to prove to your competitors that
[1:54:36] Speaker 1: you're better, you got to do.
[1:54:38] Speaker 5: It a certain way.
[1:54:40] Speaker 2: I got to do it a certain way. to win.
[1:54:42] Speaker 1: Because you joined them motherfuckers and it's like, okay, who's
[1:54:45] Speaker 1: the people who ain't winning? Who's the captain? Because you
[1:54:50] Speaker 1: left your kingdom over there.
[1:54:52] Speaker 2: That's crazy. The kingdom of Cleveland. That's crazy.
[1:55:00] Speaker 9: Like I said, the man grown, he made the decision
[1:55:02] Speaker 9: he wanted to make. But like I said, in the
[1:55:03] Speaker 9: sports world, and we're talking about sports here, people had
[1:55:09] Speaker 9: something to say.
[1:55:10] Speaker 2: That's just what it was.
[1:55:12] Speaker 9: And I think for some who was looking for a
[1:55:15] Speaker 9: reason to dislike him, he gave them one, right?
[1:55:21] Speaker 2: Looking for a reason. So they gave him.
[1:55:24] Speaker 9: He provided the ammunition and people ran with it. And
[1:55:28] Speaker 9: they haven't let go of the reins since then, right?
[1:55:33] Speaker 9: Those who was looking for a reason, they have doubled
[1:55:36] Speaker 9: down on it in every aspect of LeBron James since then.
[1:55:41] Speaker 9: going back to Cleveland, winning it, coming out here and
[1:55:43] Speaker 9: winning it, like, they didn't let go of the fact
[1:55:47] Speaker 9: that he fucking left, right?
[1:55:48] Speaker 2: Because that should be enough, right? That should be plenty.
[1:55:50] Speaker 2: It should be. It should be plenty. Yeah, go back
[1:55:52] Speaker 2: and win a championship. One here, one here. Absolutely. But
[1:55:54] Speaker 2: it's not. It's not for some. It's not.
[1:55:56] Speaker 1: Not at all. Because it looked nasty on how you
[1:55:58] Speaker 1: did it. You lined it all up.
[1:56:00] Speaker 2: No, I did it my way. Everywhere I went, I won.
[1:56:02] Speaker 2: We didn't like this. We didn't like this. It don't matter.
[1:56:04] Speaker 2: We didn't like this movie.
[1:56:05] Speaker 8: I mean, a lot of people don't like shit in business,
[1:56:07] Speaker 8: but it's business.
[1:56:08] Speaker 2: It happens in business. Negotiate us as negotiators. As long
[1:56:10] Speaker 2: as you win, though.
[1:56:11] Speaker 8: That's the main thing.
[1:56:13] Speaker 2: The ultimate goal is to win.
[1:56:14] Speaker 1: A lot of.
[1:56:16] Speaker 8: People talking ain't one. I guess you ain't make the
[1:56:19] Speaker 8: right business decision. That's just what it is.
[1:56:23] Speaker 2: Everybody can't win though. A lot of.
[1:56:25] Speaker 8: People don't know how to win or don't want to
[1:56:27] Speaker 8: win or put their ego aside to win.
[1:56:29] Speaker 9: Last thing before we take off. You think that's what
[1:56:31] Speaker 9: he did going to Miami? You think he put his
[1:56:33] Speaker 9: ego aside?
[1:56:33] Speaker 2: I'm asking. I've never heard That's the first time I've
[1:56:42] Speaker 2: heard that. Really? That he put his ego aside. That
[1:56:45] Speaker 2: he tried to. No, no, he did. No, he did.
[1:56:48] Speaker 2: Because I'm going. Because he could have stayed.
[1:56:49] Speaker 4: No.
[1:56:49] Speaker 2: First of all. He could have stayed there and been
[1:56:51] Speaker 2: getting his head beat in.
[1:56:52] Speaker 9: Every year in Cleveland and been like, I'm making it
[1:56:55] Speaker 9: to the final, but I'm losing.
[1:56:56] Speaker 2: I'm making it to the. He's going to find I'm losing.
[1:56:57] Speaker 2: I'm having 30. I'm having 35.
[1:56:59] Speaker 1: I could have kept doing that. You can't get your
[1:57:02] Speaker 1: head beat in and making it to the final.
[1:57:03] Speaker 2: But he wouldn't go winning in Cleveland.
[1:57:05] Speaker 9: We don't think he would have won in Cleveland with
[1:57:06] Speaker 9: the way it was constructed.
[1:57:08] Speaker 2: He was doing what he was supposed to up to.
[1:57:10] Speaker 9: That point, the 25 points in the fourth quarter to Detroit,
[1:57:13] Speaker 9: getting over this hump and all that.
[1:57:15] Speaker 2: Yes. But to put it that.
[1:57:17] Speaker 9: Way, if more people would have heard that in the beginning,
[1:57:22] Speaker 9: the hate probably would have been less. Still would have
[1:57:25] Speaker 9: had some that had a problem with it. But the
[1:57:27] Speaker 9: fact that you said, man, he put his ego aside.
[1:57:31] Speaker 8: Yeah, because I'm going to somebody else's team who won it.
[1:57:34] Speaker 2: So it's like, yo, I got to come in and
[1:57:37] Speaker 2: we know how Miami is. I just took my... ego
[1:57:40] Speaker 2: with me. I took my ego with me over here.
[1:57:44] Speaker 1: I didn't leave my ego back there.
[1:57:48] Speaker 2: Hell no. He just put it in his pocket. Yes, yes. No, no,
[1:57:52] Speaker 2: because I still got it. He checked it.
[1:57:54] Speaker 8: But once he got in, let me take my shit out.
[1:57:56] Speaker 8: Let me go ahead and... After he got two, I
[1:57:58] Speaker 8: pulled it out.
[1:57:59] Speaker 2: No.
[1:57:59] Speaker 12: He did that after the first... When he lost in 0-2.
[1:58:10] Speaker 12: was like, I dare you.
[1:58:11] Speaker 2: Remember, they lost in 2011. He averaged 17 a game
[1:58:15] Speaker 2: in the finals and all that shit. It was less
[1:58:18] Speaker 2: than that.
[1:58:18] Speaker 4: The last three games, 15 a game. Yeah, but.
[1:58:21] Speaker 1: So that was after that they needed to check the
[1:58:24] Speaker 1: ego because okay, we can't have you down here plan.
[1:58:27] Speaker 2: Okay second Either way go out.
[1:58:29] Speaker 1: There you got to go for either way ago.
[1:58:31] Speaker 2: We got checked He put in this pocket. Yes I'm
[1:58:33] Speaker 2: telling Somebody has to come.
[1:58:34] Speaker 1: And make you feel like you don't need to put
[1:58:36] Speaker 1: you in the safe.
[1:58:37] Speaker 2: I He didn't lock it in the safe. He had
[1:58:45] Speaker 2: that bitch hanging out his pocket. It was right. They
[1:58:48] Speaker 2: seen that motherfucker.
[1:58:49] Speaker 9: Almost like on the prison break teabag.
[1:58:53] Speaker 2: Yeah. Right there. Got his pocket hanging out. Come grab
[1:58:56] Speaker 2: his pocket. King, one of the greatest shows of all time.
[1:58:58] Speaker 2: Come grab his pocket, man. It's right there.
[1:59:00] Speaker 8: But King, when they lost in Miami, he still had
[1:59:04] Speaker 8: to have it tucked.
[1:59:04] Speaker 2: They lost. He did. They lost.
[1:59:06] Speaker 8: He didn't he didn't he didn't that's what i'm saying
[1:59:10] Speaker 8: that was the first year and he shows up it
[1:59:13] Speaker 8: was he he didn't.
[1:59:14] Speaker 1: Put it in his pocket all the way but he's
[1:59:16] Speaker 1: saying i'm new here but dallas tucked that bitch back
[1:59:19] Speaker 1: in 100 was starting.
[1:59:20] Speaker 2: To pull that motherfucking ego back yeah.
[1:59:22] Speaker 1: Dallas was like no we got something because we is.
[1:59:24] Speaker 2: In the final we here like hey i'm him.
[1:59:27] Speaker 1: Right so the next year i gotta take my ego
[1:59:30] Speaker 1: out no because in.
[1:59:31] Speaker 2: Order for us to win it's up It was. I
[1:59:33] Speaker 2: don't think he pulled it out until they wanted to.
[1:59:35] Speaker 2: It was. Hell no. I don't think he pulled it
[1:59:37] Speaker 2: out until they wanted him to. Yes, exactly. Yeah, that's...
[1:59:40] Speaker 2: So the ego took him back to Cleveland. Absolutely. R.I.P. Twainer. Yeah,
[1:59:44] Speaker 2: you know what I'm talking about? One of the greatest
[1:59:45] Speaker 2: characters in TV history. So I got a tidbit for you.

[2:00:14] Speaker 3: It's all Discord. We talked some finals, talked some LeBron.
[2:00:16] Speaker 3: Doesn't get much better than that.
[2:00:18] Speaker 2: Absolutely.
[2:00:19] Speaker 1: No, it was a good conversation. We got finals talk, man.
[2:00:21] Speaker 2: We got, yeah, it's... Yeah. Game four all the way.

[2:00:42] Speaker 2: by tomorrow. He got San Antonio. I got this. Because
[2:00:45] Speaker 2: he just won. No, it ain't even that.
[2:00:47] Speaker 8: It's just– He think they're going to even it up.
[2:00:51] Speaker 2: Look at the pressure, bro. They just– they answered the call, man.
[2:00:53] Speaker 2: They did.
[2:00:54] Speaker 8: They answered the call. And these young dudes have been
[2:00:56] Speaker 8: doing it all year, man. So, I'm going to go
[2:00:58] Speaker 8: with the Spurs on game four.
[2:00:59] Speaker 4: What's your overall prediction?
[2:01:02] Speaker 2: I got Knicks in six. I said Knicks in five.
[2:01:05] Speaker 10: So, you got the Knicks going to win game five
[2:01:08] Speaker 10: at San Antonio.
[2:01:09] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[2:01:10] Speaker 1: But I got them– I got– That's tough.
[2:01:14] Speaker 2: You got him in six, though, right?
[2:01:15] Speaker 4: I do, but they're going to win game four.
[2:01:18] Speaker 1: And San Antonio win game five.
[2:01:21] Speaker 2: Closing in six.
[2:01:22] Speaker 5: No chance.
[2:01:23] Speaker 1: I got him in five.
[2:01:25] Speaker 2: I picked the Knicks in five. Yeah, you did. You
[2:01:26] Speaker 2: know he got seven. I got to stand on my
[2:01:29] Speaker 2: one side. I'm not going to flip-flop.
[2:01:36] Speaker 1: Being this close, I'm going to still celebrate if the
[2:01:38] Speaker 1: Knicks win. But I'm going to ride with them. I'm
[2:01:41] Speaker 1: going to ride with them. Game four must.
[2:01:43] Speaker 2: Win, man. Game four must win for both teams.
[2:01:46] Speaker 9: It's a must win for both squads, which is hard
[2:01:50] Speaker 9: to do, but it's a must win for both teams.
[2:01:52] Speaker 2: Everybody must win in life.
[2:01:53] Speaker 4: So which game do you have the Knicks winning then?
[2:01:55] Speaker 2: I got to win one more. They got to win
[2:01:59] Speaker 2: game four.
[2:01:59] Speaker 4: Oh, you got Knicks in game four?

[2:02:03] Speaker 10: Okay.
[2:02:04] Speaker 2: Knicks game five. All right.
[2:02:06] Speaker 5: Spurs game six and game seven. But that's not an
[2:02:09] Speaker 5: overall prediction.
[2:02:10] Speaker 8: I'm not going to stick to that.
[2:02:13] Speaker 1: If a man wants to become Muhammad, it depends on
[2:02:17] Speaker 1: who's doing the polling.
[2:02:18] Speaker 5: Cristiano Ronaldo is a greater athlete than LeBron, bro.
[2:02:22] Speaker 2: It depends on the audience. I think we need that.
