The NBA Playoffs' INSANE Weekend Shakes Up Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew react to a crazy Tuesday night in the NBA Playoffs. They tip things off by reacting to the Philadelphia 76ers stunning win in Boston over the Celtics to take that series back to Philly for a game 6. They break down Joel Embiid's stellar performance, and if he has enough left in the tank to help the Sixers pull off a miraculous upset over Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. The Celtics have proven that they will continue to live and die by the three, but is it sustainable? Next, they react to Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs making light work of the Portland Trail Blazers, finishing them off in 5 games. After an impressive 1st round in Wemby's first ever Playoff series, the crew debates if this Spurs team is Real or Fugazi? Finally, they discuss the New York Knicks chances in the Eastern conference after they took a 3-2 series lead over the Atlanta Hawks, and just how important Jalen Brunson has been to the resurgence of this Knicks franchise as The Captain dropped 39 points at the Garden. The Knicks look to close out the Hawks Thursday night in Atlanta. [0:07] Speaker 2: Whoop, whoop.
[0:08] Speaker 3: Glorious Wednesday here in the arena. A light couch today,
[0:12] Speaker 3: but we all we got. We all we need, I guess.
[0:15] Speaker 3: How everybody feeling? Swaggy, I see you.
[0:20] Speaker 4: You know, I was in the spirit of hooping today.
[0:22] Speaker 4: All this basketball, playoffs.
[0:26] Speaker 2: Did you come straight from hooping?
[0:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, straight from the gym. And I was.
[0:31] Speaker 4: LeBron motivated me at 40 to be out there doing
[0:34] Speaker 4: what he's doing.
[0:35] Speaker 1: 41-year-old LeBron. Today is the game five win.
[0:37] Speaker 3: Elimination days we call here in Los Angeles.
[0:40] Speaker 2: Did you take a shower after you hooped?
[0:42] Speaker 1: A little. A light one. I washed up.
[0:44] Speaker 5: You still can't fuck with me, though. That's why you
[0:50] Speaker 5: don't want to invite me. That's why you never invite me.
[0:53] Speaker 5: You know when people don't invite you because they don't
[0:55] Speaker 5: want to deal with you. We should be on the
[0:58] Speaker 5: same team. I just want you to see. I want
[1:01] Speaker 5: you to know. In your core bones of all bones,
[1:04] Speaker 5: I had it wrong with him. I had it wrong.
[1:07] Speaker 5: The stats don't match. None of that shit. And even
[1:10] Speaker 5: the muscles.
[1:11] Speaker 1: You know why he shoot like that still. I've seen it.
[1:14] Speaker 1: I've seen the stats don't match. That's evident. Just saying.
[1:18] Speaker 5: I want to get out there. I want to get
[1:20] Speaker 5: out there and see swag move.
[1:22] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? With the knees and the
[1:24] Speaker 1: whole nine, I got to match it up. The double
[1:26] Speaker 1: knee brace. The double knees? He got the double knees?
[1:30] Speaker 4: It ain't like Robert Parrish. It don't look like that.
[1:33] Speaker 4: It's more stylish.
[1:35] Speaker 1: Stylish, though. It don't hurt as much. Did you dunk today? Oh,
[1:40] Speaker 1: he don't duck no more.
[1:42] Speaker 6: I see. He don't duck no more. I'm going to
[1:46] Speaker 6: stretch four now. Stretch four for sure. I got the four.
[1:50] Speaker 6: I'm going to guard him. Big fella. I got you.
[1:53] Speaker 3: But this is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Whoop Whoop.
[1:56] Speaker 3: I'm merely your host, Josiah Johnson, and we got one
[1:59] Speaker 3: of the biggest legends in the sports media game, Skip Bayless,
[2:01] Speaker 3: back in the building with us.
[2:05] Speaker 5: Skip, you be out here lifting too, I see it.
[2:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, man. He's in the gym.
[2:10] Speaker 2: I'm just trying to keep up with that man.
[2:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, he eat weights. A lot of creatine over there.
[2:18] Speaker 2: Only creatine?
[2:19] Speaker 1: Only creatine. Only. Man, stop. We can't talk about what
[2:23] Speaker 1: I be doing, push-ups and the other stuff. You know
[2:26] Speaker 1: what I'm saying? We got NBA champion of the world.
[2:30] Speaker 1: Swaggy P. Nick Young. Only champion on the couch. No
[2:33] Speaker 1: matter when Skip come, when Skip come, it don't matter.
[2:36] Speaker 1: The only champion. It don't matter.
[2:37] Speaker 3: Six-figure. We have yet to figure out what the six-figure.
[2:41] Speaker 1: I'm the Jordan. I'm the Jordan. Okay, but yeah, but.
[2:44] Speaker 1: He actually got the Jordan finger. Look at the Jordan.
[2:46] Speaker 1: He got the Jordan finger. That motherfucker go over there.
[2:49] Speaker 1: Don't even look at him. We got one over here, too. Damn,
[2:53] Speaker 1: how you get one of them? I want one. You
[2:57] Speaker 1: do that. Last but not least. Damn, I ain't even
[3:01] Speaker 1: noticed that until now.
[3:02] Speaker 3: Last but not least, a man they call Cemetery Larry,
[3:04] Speaker 3: NCAA champion of the world, Rashad McCants, Dr.
[3:07] Speaker 1: Rashad McCants. That was easy.
[3:13] Speaker 3: A lot of playoff basketball to discuss. Here's what's cracking
[3:16] Speaker 3: in Gil's arena today. Joel Embiid delivered an MVP-level performance
[3:21] Speaker 3: to keep the Sixers' season alive. What did Philly expose
[3:24] Speaker 3: about the second-seeded Celtics? Wimby and the Spurs won their
[3:28] Speaker 3: first playoff series since 2017 with a gentleman's sweep over
[3:32] Speaker 3: the Blazers. But is San Antonio for real or Fugazi?
[3:35] Speaker 3: They're looking good, and they might have an easy path.
[3:38] Speaker 3: They're at Western Conference Finals in a showdown with the
[3:40] Speaker 3: Lakers or the Oklahoma City Thunder. And Jalen Brunson put
[3:44] Speaker 3: the Knicks on his back to lead New York to
[3:46] Speaker 3: a blowout win over the Hawks in game five. Is
[3:49] Speaker 3: the Knicks offense better running through Brunson or the big bodega?
[3:53] Speaker 3: We will discuss, but before we get into all that,
[3:55] Speaker 3: as always, this show is brought to you by Underdog.

[4:17] Speaker 3: So we're going to start this show in the East
[4:19] Speaker 3: with the Sixers and Celtics. Joel Embiid made his 2026
[4:23] Speaker 3: playoff debut in game four just weeks after an emergency appendectomy,
[4:27] Speaker 3: putting up 26 points, 10 boards, and six assists in
[4:30] Speaker 3: 34 minutes of action.
[4:31] Speaker 1: But the Celtics were.
[4:32] Speaker 3: Too much, taking a 16-point lead after the first quarter,
[4:35] Speaker 3: never looking back. Jason Tatum was cooking with 30 points,
[4:38] Speaker 3: 11 assists, and seven boards. And Peyton Pritchard came through
[4:41] Speaker 3: with a playoff career high, 32 points and five dimes,
[4:45] Speaker 3: becoming just the third Celtic in franchise history with a
[4:48] Speaker 3: 30-piece off-the-bench record. Boston hit 24 threes in the game
[4:51] Speaker 3: to get the 32-point blowout win. So after dropping both
[4:54] Speaker 3: games on their home floor, Philly found themselves facing elimination
[4:57] Speaker 3: as the series returned to the Garden Tuesday night. But
[5:00] Speaker 3: the Sixers' big three came up big in game five
[5:03] Speaker 3: to keep their season alive.
[5:04] Speaker 1: Let's take a look at the highlights. We can't please.
[5:07] Speaker 3: Celtics took a seven-point lead into the break, and we're
[5:09] Speaker 3: in control in the third quarter, extending their lead to 13.
[5:13] Speaker 3: But the Sixers rallied with their former MVP, putting the
[5:16] Speaker 3: team on its back with an MVP-level performance. Embiid had
[5:19] Speaker 3: a game-high 33 points along with 8 assists in 39 minutes,
[5:23] Speaker 3: scoring 31 of his 33 in the final three quarters.
[5:26] Speaker 3: The process was 12 for 23 from the field, 9
[5:29] Speaker 3: for 10 from the line, had 18 points in the
[5:31] Speaker 3: second half on 7 of 10 shooting. Tyrese Maxey added
[5:35] Speaker 3: 25 10 boards and 5 dimes while PG, playoff P,
[5:38] Speaker 3: came through with 16, 9 boards and 7 assists. Quentin Grimes,
[5:43] Speaker 3: big spark off the bench with his best game of
[5:45] Speaker 3: the series. Grimes had 12 of his 18 points in
[5:48] Speaker 3: the second half. Jason Tatum led the Celtics with 24
[5:51] Speaker 3: points and 16 rebounds. Jalen Brown added 22, 5, and 5,
[5:55] Speaker 3: but no other Celtics starter scored more than 8 points
[5:58] Speaker 3: in the game. Sixers were up 3 midway through the
[6:01] Speaker 3: fourth quarter, but went on a 12-0 run to extend
[6:04] Speaker 3: the lead to 15 to put the game out of reach.
[6:07] Speaker 3: Philly outscored Boston 28-11 in the final frame. Celtics were
[6:12] Speaker 3: 3 for 22 in the fourth quarter, missed their last
[6:15] Speaker 3: 16 field goal attempts to end the game. Tatum and
[6:19] Speaker 3: Brown were combined 0 for 8 with just two points in.
[6:23] Speaker 1: The final frame.
[6:24] Speaker 3: The Sixers went on to get the win after the game.
[6:27] Speaker 3: Embiid had this to say about his love for the
[6:29] Speaker 3: game and motivation to play in this series after his appendectomy.
[6:34] Speaker 7: I know a lot of people might have takes of
[6:37] Speaker 7: that I might be lazy or whatever, but every single
[6:40] Speaker 7: time I'm on the floor, I want to play as
[6:43] Speaker 7: hard as possible. I want to do whatever it takes
[6:46] Speaker 7: to win a basketball game, whether it's on offense, on defense.
[6:51] Speaker 7: I just want to play basketball, whether I'm good physical, mental,
[6:56] Speaker 7: or whatever. I just want to enjoy these moments, just
[7:01] Speaker 7: being part of a basketball team that's trying to accomplish something,
[7:05] Speaker 7: and that's to.
[7:06] Speaker 1: Win every single game. I'm glad we won today.
[7:10] Speaker 7: Uh, I didn't want to go home, you know, and, uh,
[7:13] Speaker 7: you know, think about it all summer of, you know,
[7:16] Speaker 7: what could have been, you know, if I was healthy
[7:18] Speaker 7: going into the playoffs. So one more day, uh, you know, and,
[7:23] Speaker 7: you know, one more game, uh, to go out and, uh,
[7:26] Speaker 7: and try to make it back here. Um, that's the mentality. Um,
[7:30] Speaker 7: so yeah, I'm just, uh, just thankful to be in
[7:33] Speaker 7: a position where I get to play. Um, you know, uh,
[7:37] Speaker 7: I don't know how long I have, you know, I
[7:41] Speaker 7: can't do this. So I just want to enjoy as
[7:44] Speaker 7: much as possible.
[7:46] Speaker 3: The Sixers have lost, I believe, six straight playoff series
[7:49] Speaker 3: to the Celtics, got their last win in 1982. This
[7:51] Speaker 3: was Embiid's eighth 30-point game against the Celtics in the playoffs,
[7:55] Speaker 3: the second most for a Sixers player against a single
[7:57] Speaker 3: opponent in a franchise playoff history.
[7:59] Speaker 1: So, Skip, we will start with you.
[8:00] Speaker 3: What are your biggest takeaways from the Sixers' Game 5
[8:02] Speaker 3: win over the Celtics to keep their season alive?
[8:07] Speaker 2: So first of all, in my many years of watching
[8:12] Speaker 2: and studying, covering the game, you guys played at the
[8:15] Speaker 2: highest level. I have never seen a contending team that
[8:19] Speaker 2: can go so cold when you least expect it as
[8:23] Speaker 2: the Boston Celtics. It's just hard to fathom that they
[8:27] Speaker 2: lost at home the fourth quarter last night, 28-11. And
[8:29] Speaker 2: as Josiah pointed out, three of 22 in the fourth,
[8:36] Speaker 2: Missed their last 16. Jalen Brown is 0 for 6,
[8:41] Speaker 2: and Jason Tatum's only 0 for 2, only took two shots.
[8:46] Speaker 2: And it's just incomprehensible how cold they go and stay
[8:55] Speaker 2: over stretches of games. But the reason I think they
[9:00] Speaker 2: were all but intimidated into the cold shooting.
[9:05] Speaker 2: Was that guy who plays for the Sixers occasionally, occasionally,
[9:10] Speaker 2: named Joel Embiid. I hear night after night about that
[9:16] Speaker 2: alien in San Antonio. This guy has been the alien
[9:21] Speaker 2: for the last decade when he feels like it. And
[9:26] Speaker 2: some nights he goes back to whatever planet he came from,
[9:29] Speaker 2: never to be seen. But Joel Embiid, to me, former MVP,
[9:35] Speaker 2: is the biggest tease in the history of professional basketball
[9:40] Speaker 2: because when he is healthy and he feels like playing basketball,
[9:46] Speaker 2: there is nothing better than him. And as Tyrese Maxey
[9:50] Speaker 2: said after that game last night, in the second half
[9:53] Speaker 2: he was extremely dominant. When he feels like it and
[9:59] Speaker 2: he's okay to play, against the Boston Celtics, he is
[10:05] Speaker 2: the best player on the floor. You can have Jason
[10:08] Speaker 2: Tatum or Jalen Brown or whoever you want on the
[10:11] Speaker 2: other side. You can have Peyton Pritchard. But when he's right.
[10:17] Speaker 2: They can't stop him. They can't touch him. They can
[10:21] Speaker 2: only send him to the free throw line where he
[10:23] Speaker 2: is the greatest seven-foot free throw shooter I've ever seen.
[10:27] Speaker 2: And I told you guys, I said right here on
[10:31] Speaker 2: this couch, I was told the doctors in Philadelphia cleared
[10:36] Speaker 2: him to play game one of this series, game one.
[10:40] Speaker 2: And they left it up to him. And he said,
[10:44] Speaker 2: not yet, after his appendectomy. yet that surgery is now
[10:50] Speaker 2: so easily done with the arthroscope, and you can bounce
[10:54] Speaker 2: back fairly quickly from it, and I don't know what
[10:57] Speaker 2: he was feeling or not feeling, but he didn't play
[11:00] Speaker 2: games one, two, three, and then he comes back in
[11:03] Speaker 2: game four, and I know they got blown out, but
[11:07] Speaker 2: I look at the numbers he put up out of
[11:09] Speaker 2: nowhere coming back in game four, he goes 26-10 and
[11:11] Speaker 2: six assists. Last night he had eight assists, and In
[11:17] Speaker 2: the second half last night, he just took over and
[11:21] Speaker 2: played 39 minutes. And so it makes you wonder, well,
[11:26] Speaker 2: could you have sucked it up and tried to play
[11:27] Speaker 2: in game one or two or three and change this series?
[11:32] Speaker 2: And yet, in the end, what's going to happen is
[11:36] Speaker 2: they're going to go home and he's going to dominate again.
[11:39] Speaker 2: That's what I believe. And it'll go back to Boston
[11:42] Speaker 2: for a game seven. And all I know about Joel Embiid,
[11:45] Speaker 2: former MVP, is he's 30 and 31 in playoff games
[11:49] Speaker 2: he's played in. He's 0 for 5 in semifinals, having
[11:54] Speaker 2: never lifted this team to even a conference final. And
[11:59] Speaker 2: he is 0 for 3 in game sevens in his career.
[12:02] Speaker 2: And we can get into him a little bit later.
[12:05] Speaker 2: But every one of the game sevens he's played in,
[12:10] Speaker 2: are pretty much disasters for him. James Harden had a
[12:13] Speaker 2: lot to do with a couple of them. But Joel,
[12:18] Speaker 2: when you need him the most, he's often not there.
[12:23] Speaker 2: And yet, when he feels like it, like last night,
[12:28] Speaker 2: and what I think is going to happen in game six,
[12:32] Speaker 2: the Boston Celtics will be in trouble. But at home
[12:35] Speaker 2: in a game seven, history screams that Joel Embiid will
[12:40] Speaker 2: not be there for the 76ers.
[12:46] Speaker 3: So after that game, Game 5, Embiid said, you know,
[12:49] Speaker 3: when he's playing at that level offensively, he doesn't think
[12:51] Speaker 3: he can be stopped. Skip, like you mentioned, the injuries
[12:54] Speaker 3: have stopped him and curtailed some of those playoff runs
[12:56] Speaker 3: in years past.
[12:57] Speaker 1: But, Sean, let's move on to you.
[13:00] Speaker 3: Looking at Embiid, what he was able to do last night,
[13:01] Speaker 3: put the team on his back, MVP-level performance. What are
[13:03] Speaker 3: your biggest takeaways from that Sixers Game 5 win over
[13:07] Speaker 3: the Celtics?
[13:08] Speaker 5: I've always said Joel Embiid, when he is on the
[13:10] Speaker 5: floor and he is locked in and engaged, he's unstoppable.
[13:14] Speaker 5: And that's why I kind of shifted towards Philly. Seeing
[13:17] Speaker 5: his emergence and his availability early on and saving his
[13:22] Speaker 5: body for the playoffs was something that I was looking
[13:26] Speaker 5: forward to. And I think that the other injuries kind
[13:29] Speaker 5: of contributed to his unavailability.
[13:33] Speaker 1: For the first three games.
[13:34] Speaker 5: But you look at game four and you analyze why
[13:38] Speaker 5: it went bad.
[13:39] Speaker 1: It went bad because Peyton Pritchard decided to show up.
[13:42] Speaker 2: He went crazy.
[13:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, he went crazy.
[13:44] Speaker 5: And I think that was something that took away from
[13:47] Speaker 5: Joel because you look at a lot of the shots
[13:50] Speaker 5: that he was taking, a lot of the things that
[13:52] Speaker 5: came into play after. They were kind of trying to
[13:55] Speaker 5: figure out how to get back on track after the
[13:58] Speaker 5: game two win. And I think the way that they
[14:01] Speaker 5: looked in game two going into game three, You can't
[14:05] Speaker 5: keep that momentum without actually knowing that you can defeat
[14:08] Speaker 5: this team playing that way. I think going into game four,
[14:12] Speaker 5: Joel coming in and disrupting that chemistry that they felt
[14:15] Speaker 5: like they had was something that I think a lot
[14:20] Speaker 5: of the people who were watching is saying, like, why
[14:22] Speaker 5: did he come back? Why did you start him? Why
[14:25] Speaker 5: couldn't he just kind of filter in? And I think
[14:28] Speaker 5: the game that he played, like I said, Peyton Pritchard
[14:31] Speaker 5: came in and made it look bad. for the whole
[14:34] Speaker 5: team based on the matchups, but then you see Peyton
[14:38] Speaker 5: Pritchard last night. He doesn't really show up in the
[14:41] Speaker 5: same capacity, but guess who did show up in the
[14:44] Speaker 5: same capacity?
[14:45] Speaker 1: Joel Embiid.
[14:46] Speaker 5: He was consistent through both games, but the difference was
[14:48] Speaker 5: the second half, he did what the Boston Celtics are very,
[14:52] Speaker 5: very frightened of is the post presence and the availability of.
[14:57] Speaker 1: Being dominant in the paint.
[15:00] Speaker 5: When you can be dominant in the paint, you got
[15:02] Speaker 5: Vucevic and I can't remember.
[15:06] Speaker 1: Kada. Those two guys can't stop him.
[15:09] Speaker 5: And when you know that as a player, you know
[15:11] Speaker 5: that your matchup in this particular series is going to be,
[15:14] Speaker 5: I need to dominate these two guys for us to win.
[15:18] Speaker 5: Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum don't have a chance. Ain't no
[15:21] Speaker 5: Derek White. Ain't no Peyton Pritchard that can save the day.
[15:24] Speaker 5: Especially when you got Paul George on the other side.
[15:26] Speaker 5: Maxie on the other side. Eshcombe on the other side.
[15:29] Speaker 5: Oubre on the other side. Grimes, who is one of
[15:33] Speaker 5: the most unexpected talents that you could say similar to
[15:39] Speaker 5: a Cam Thomas guy. firepower like microwave Vinnie Johnson style
[15:43] Speaker 5: where you don't know when he's going to do it,
[15:45] Speaker 5: but you know he's capable of it. You got that
[15:48] Speaker 5: type of firepower with Philly, it's dangerous. And Boston plays
[15:52] Speaker 5: a type of basketball that you expect. They're going to
[15:55] Speaker 5: shoot a bunch of threes. They're going to have two
[15:57] Speaker 5: dynamic players. But if those players get cold at any moment,
[16:01] Speaker 5: it's over for them. They don't have any counterbalance other
[16:04] Speaker 5: than a Peyton Pritchard, who is only going to feed
[16:07] Speaker 5: off of those two.
[16:08] Speaker 1: Guys giving him the green light.
[16:10] Speaker 5: So with Joel Embiid showing up the way that he did,
[16:13] Speaker 5: I love everything about his dominance and creating positional advantages
[16:20] Speaker 5: over Vucevic, who definitely doesn't want to, he don't want
[16:24] Speaker 5: to be down there in the mix. So he took
[16:27] Speaker 5: advantage of that. And like you said, free throw wise,
[16:30] Speaker 5: nobody shoots free throws like him. He got in his
[16:32] Speaker 5: groove in the second half, and it was beautiful.
[16:35] Speaker 1: Beautiful to watch.
[16:35] Speaker 5: I'm taking him, if I had to, in six, game six,
[16:40] Speaker 5: to push it to seven. And I'm not going to
[16:43] Speaker 5: say that they have a chance in game seven, but
[16:47] Speaker 5: It goes for good entertainment.
[16:49] Speaker 1: This is blasphemy. Good entertainment. Good entertainment. This is blasphemy.
[16:54] Speaker 1: What is blasphemous about?
[16:56] Speaker 4: Because I feel like we only talk about Boston when
[16:59] Speaker 4: they're losing, when they lose.
[17:00] Speaker 1: They won.
[17:01] Speaker 4: We didn't hear nothing about Boston. We did speak about
[17:03] Speaker 4: Boston when they won. We didn't speak about it yesterday.
[17:05] Speaker 4: They lose, we talk about Boston. The thing with Boston
[17:07] Speaker 4: that makes me mad, they play with their food too much.
[17:10] Speaker 4: And they stick to the game plan. The game plan
[17:12] Speaker 4: is shooting threes. And at the end of games when
[17:15] Speaker 4: things get ugly, I feel like Jalen Brown and Jason
[17:21] Speaker 4: Tatum don't know who's going to lead, who's the alpha.
[17:25] Speaker 4: And that's where I think they mess up at a
[17:26] Speaker 4: lot of time, man. When you stuck on sticking to
[17:30] Speaker 4: the game plan, you continue to shoot threes, and them
[17:33] Speaker 4: guys could do more.
[17:34] Speaker 1: A lot more.
[17:36] Speaker 4: And I think that's what happens when they shoot themselves
[17:39] Speaker 4: out instead of trusting their talent. Jason Tatum out there,
[17:44] Speaker 4: he could do more than just step back threes.
[17:46] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown....
[17:48] Speaker 4: I seen him dribble for 20 seconds yesterday towards the end,
[17:52] Speaker 4: playing around with Quinn Grimes.
[17:53] Speaker 1: Quinn Grimes locking him up.
[17:56] Speaker 4: And this playoffs has been some corner, like the other
[17:59] Speaker 4: guys have stepped up and made it.
[18:01] Speaker 1: You said it was a corner?
[18:02] Speaker 4: It was a corner playoffs, a corner new playoffs. And
[18:04] Speaker 4: Quinn Grimes was one of the reasons I feel like
[18:08] Speaker 4: they won yesterday, the energy change.
[18:10] Speaker 1: And Peyton Pitcher the other day.
[18:12] Speaker 4: So it's going to take the others to step up
[18:16] Speaker 4: for sure.
[18:16] Speaker 3: I need a Derek White moment. That, I think, is
[18:19] Speaker 3: one of the biggest issues with that Celtics squad. Derek
[18:21] Speaker 3: White averaging, what, eight points per game in the series shooting?
[18:24] Speaker 1: Eight points per game. Eight points per game shooting. The
[18:26] Speaker 1: same one you was vouching for? 30% from the field, 21%
[18:30] Speaker 1: from three. Trash. So, yeah, it's time for him to
[18:34] Speaker 1: step up and show the Olympian and all that.
[18:37] Speaker 4: I feel like it's time for that. But, Embiid, like
[18:43] Speaker 4: Skip said, I was thinking the same thing. He was everything.
[18:46] Speaker 1: The A-linen. Could be.
[18:49] Speaker 4: Like watching the Alien Eagles, all the things he accomplished,
[18:53] Speaker 4: I feel like Jalen B could have done the same
[18:56] Speaker 4: thing if healthy.
[18:57] Speaker 3: I don't think he's good as a defender, but Embiid
[18:59] Speaker 3: has made all defensive teams in his career.
[19:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, not the block. Of course, he's 7'6. That's different.
[19:05] Speaker 4: But you haven't seen a big that could do everything
[19:09] Speaker 4: on the offensive end, like shoot threes, pose, dribble, dunk, athletic.
[19:16] Speaker 4: And to say he's lazy, I don't think he had
[19:19] Speaker 4: all that coming into the NBA.
[19:22] Speaker 1: He was just big.
[19:22] Speaker 4: I didn't see him shooting threes. I didn't see him
[19:26] Speaker 4: ball handling like that. So I feel like he worked
[19:29] Speaker 4: on it. For sure he stays in the gym. But
[19:31] Speaker 4: being hurt, it's nothing you can really do.
[19:35] Speaker 1: Take time off.
[19:37] Speaker 4: And if he could have one of them Kawhi seasons
[19:40] Speaker 4: like Kawhi had this year before it's over, I feel
[19:43] Speaker 4: like we'll see.
[19:44] Speaker 1: Another MVP for sure. For sure. I mean, the starters
[19:47] Speaker 1: grew with injuries. Jason Tatum is the best on the
[19:49] Speaker 1: floor right now. Jason Tatum is the best.
[19:51] Speaker 4: And Paul George is showing him he's the old version
[19:56] Speaker 4: of him, too.
[19:57] Speaker 1: Paul George has been playing very well, too. I mean,
[19:59] Speaker 1: that six is big three.
[20:00] Speaker 3: We didn't get a lot of huge sample size of
[20:02] Speaker 3: them this season or throughout their time together in Philly,
[20:04] Speaker 3: but went healthy, which is obviously a.
[20:07] Speaker 1: Big hit if The better team is Philly. The better team?
[20:12] Speaker 1: On paper. Like as far as players.
[20:14] Speaker 4: It's the better team, but they don't put fear in
[20:16] Speaker 4: people like OKC because they always have a 20-point lead.
[20:22] Speaker 4: Like with New York last year, how many times they
[20:25] Speaker 4: was up that series and lost every game? They don't
[20:28] Speaker 4: ever keep their foot on people's necks.
[20:29] Speaker 1: Hear what I'm saying. So the magic, right? The magic
[20:33] Speaker 1: in Detroit.
[20:34] Speaker 5: You wouldn't say that the magic throughout the whole season
[20:37] Speaker 5: was a better team than Detroit, right? Due to the record.
[20:40] Speaker 5: They were supposed to be. Just due to the record.
[20:42] Speaker 5: Even then, you say they was three or four or five, right?
[20:45] Speaker 1: Better team on paper.
[20:46] Speaker 5: So on paper, you look at the actual players and
[20:48] Speaker 5: you say, this is our roster. I'm saying Philadelphia, which
[20:53] Speaker 5: is why I would pick them. over Boston on paper
[20:56] Speaker 5: because of who they have and the possibilities and potential
[21:00] Speaker 5: of what they can do on the floor. Maxie, Eshkone,
[21:04] Speaker 5: Paul George, Kelly Oubre, Quinn Grimes, with a healthy Joel Embiid,
[21:09] Speaker 5: but look, with a drumming.
[21:12] Speaker 1: Behind him, like, you got a good team.
[21:15] Speaker 5: Now, you tell me the Boston Celtics team, right, right now,
[21:19] Speaker 5: Roster wise, you only going to name three, four guys.
[21:22] Speaker 1: No.
[21:23] Speaker 5: That you're going to be like, oh, these guys are good.
[21:25] Speaker 5: They're going to show up against those guys. They'll play well.
[21:28] Speaker 5: And really only three of them are you going to
[21:29] Speaker 5: be like, I can depend on these guys from the
[21:32] Speaker 5: Boston Celtics to show up.
[21:34] Speaker 1: The rest of the guys are variables. No, no. Fading
[21:37] Speaker 1: pitcher is a... He's number three. He's the third.
[21:40] Speaker 4: You got Nick Bukovic. He's been an all-star. He's been
[21:42] Speaker 4: hurt half the time.
[21:43] Speaker 1: You got Darren Wright. That's an Olympian. No way. Eight
[21:46] Speaker 1: points a game in the series. Who else? Kata? Who
[21:50] Speaker 1: are you depending on? Hauser?
[21:52] Speaker 5: None of those guys are matching up to what I'm
[21:54] Speaker 5: seeing on this side.
[21:55] Speaker 1: These are proven guys that we like. Hey, on paper,
[21:59] Speaker 1: they should beat him. If you go player for player.
[22:01] Speaker 1: Player for player. You got Tatum and Brown, but you
[22:03] Speaker 1: got Embiid and Maxie.
[22:05] Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. After that, you matching up who?
[22:07] Speaker 5: Escombe and Pritchard?
[22:09] Speaker 1: You got PG and who? Houser? Derek White? Right? And
[22:15] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown. Is Maxie in Embiid? But he's hurt, though.
[22:19] Speaker 1: You got to add that. He's not hurt right now.
[22:21] Speaker 1: He wasn't hurt last night. How long? He played, what,
[22:24] Speaker 1: 30 games this year? He played two games. He played
[22:26] Speaker 1: two games. The last two games, he played. So don't
[22:29] Speaker 1: base it on what we say. That's what we're basing
[22:31] Speaker 1: it on. No, we're not.
[22:32] Speaker 5: We're talking about on paper right now. The roster's as
[22:34] Speaker 5: configured right now. Player for player, Philly's the better team.
[22:38] Speaker 5: But coaching-wise and what they've done, you have to give
[22:42] Speaker 5: it to Boston because the pedigree, we've already won one.
[22:46] Speaker 5: We have experience. We know how to play together. So
[22:49] Speaker 5: you've got to get an edge to Boston. But I'm
[22:50] Speaker 5: just saying, talent for talent.
[22:52] Speaker 2: Right.
[22:53] Speaker 5: The 76ers should be able to make it a seven-game
[22:57] Speaker 5: series and make it something worth it.
[22:59] Speaker 2: But explain this to me and to your point about blasphemy,
[23:03] Speaker 2: talking about Boston. You've got two first-team all-NBA kind of
[23:09] Speaker 2: players as your alphas, and you have a 13-point lead
[23:13] Speaker 2: at home in a closeout game. And this is early
[23:19] Speaker 2: third quarter. One of the alphas has to say, that's
[23:22] Speaker 2: enough of that. I got this. And yet, the catalyst
[23:28] Speaker 2: for this team, the detonator that they wait on, especially
[23:32] Speaker 2: at home, is a little six-foot white guy. Little white
[23:36] Speaker 2: guy built like a fullback.
[23:37] Speaker 1: New age Caucasian skim, new age Caucasian. Most black and mild,
[23:42] Speaker 1: shoes dice. But still.
[23:44] Speaker 2: Does he look like a basketball player to you? Because
[23:46] Speaker 2: he doesn't look like one to me. He's a six-foot
[23:49] Speaker 2: Nick Young, man.
[23:50] Speaker 1: White Nick Young, man.
[23:52] Speaker 2: Okay, but he's stout. He's built like a fireplug, you know,
[23:56] Speaker 2: and he just doesn't look basketball-y to me. He looks
[23:59] Speaker 2: like a football player. And yet, they just wait on
[24:03] Speaker 2: him to detonate the home crowd. the way he took
[24:07] Speaker 2: Philly's crowd out of it in the previous game when
[24:11] Speaker 2: he makes six threes at Philadelphia for 32 points. And
[24:15] Speaker 2: last night, he goes one of four from three, and
[24:18] Speaker 2: the crowd's just like, ugh. Because if he just makes
[24:24] Speaker 2: a couple in a row, the roof blows off that place,
[24:28] Speaker 2: and the visiting team is in big trouble. And last night,
[24:32] Speaker 2: he couldn't, and then In the fourth quarter, this is
[24:36] Speaker 2: incomprehensible that you have Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown, who
[24:40] Speaker 2: a lot of people were pushing for MVP this year
[24:42] Speaker 2: up until Jason Tatum came back. And you've got not
[24:48] Speaker 2: one of you two or Peyton Pritchard or somebody, Derek White,
[24:53] Speaker 2: who I have a lot of respect. He's got credentials, man,
[24:57] Speaker 2: because even in San Antonio, he had credentials. And now
[25:01] Speaker 2: he's in the worst slump of his life, of his life,
[25:04] Speaker 2: because I looked at the last six games. He's nine
[25:07] Speaker 2: of 41 from three. So he just can't buy one,
[25:11] Speaker 2: and he couldn't buy one last night. And you can
[25:13] Speaker 2: just see in his eyes, like, you guys really want
[25:16] Speaker 2: me to shoot? He had a corner three that could
[25:18] Speaker 2: have turned it late.
[25:19] Speaker 1: Yep. He hesitated.
[25:22] Speaker 2: Like, oh, I missed it badly.
[25:25] Speaker 1: Well, then.
[25:28] Speaker 2: How can you allow that to happen? This is a
[25:30] Speaker 2: closeout game, and I just sat there in awe watching
[25:33] Speaker 2: it saying, one of you two, you're not going to
[25:35] Speaker 2: show in the fourth quarter?
[25:37] Speaker 1: That's what I said.
[25:37] Speaker 2: Because Tatum took two shots in.
[25:39] Speaker 1: The fourth quarter.
[25:40] Speaker 4: I said, they all go, who teams is it? And
[25:42] Speaker 4: when they get ugly, that's what I feel they mess
[25:44] Speaker 4: up at.
[25:45] Speaker 1: Let's talk about the Celtics squad.
[25:47] Speaker 3: Celtics are averaging nearly 47 three-point attempts per game this postseason.
[25:51] Speaker 3: So in their three wins, shooting 42% from distance, but
[25:55] Speaker 3: just 27%.
[25:56] Speaker 1: In their two losses.
[25:57] Speaker 3: We're 11 for 39 in game five.
[26:00] Speaker 5: Live by the three, die by the three. They stick
[26:03] Speaker 5: to that plan too much. I like what you said
[26:05] Speaker 5: about that. When you stick to the plan. It's brilliant
[26:10] Speaker 5: in a way what you're saying because when you say
[26:12] Speaker 5: stick to the plan, a lot of the fans don't
[26:15] Speaker 5: understand when the coach has the game plan and you're like,
[26:19] Speaker 5: but it's not working.
[26:21] Speaker 1: Now you're like, what do we do?
[26:24] Speaker 5: As the Alphas, you're supposed to take take the wheel
[26:28] Speaker 5: and let me drive this ship the way I feel
[26:30] Speaker 5: like it should go and coach give me the freedom
[26:33] Speaker 5: to do that right but then it's so much of
[26:36] Speaker 5: trust the game plan trust that we're going to make
[26:39] Speaker 5: threes eventually and like you said they got cold right
[26:44] Speaker 5: between the two stars and now we're looking for the
[26:46] Speaker 5: detonator He's also cold, too.
[26:49] Speaker 1: And now we don't have.
[26:51] Speaker 5: Any confidence with Derek White. He's super cold. Now, we
[26:54] Speaker 5: did get one good three from Hauser. It was a
[26:57] Speaker 5: deep three. It was like, okay, whew. But that's not enough.
[27:02] Speaker 5: Vucevic is not hitting the threes. You don't got Shireman
[27:05] Speaker 5: coming out there doing things that he was doing early season.
[27:09] Speaker 5: So it's really kind of like, well.
[27:12] Speaker 2: There's no plan B to it.
[27:13] Speaker 5: There's no plan B. There's no plan B. That's what
[27:16] Speaker 5: he's saying about sticking to the plan.
[27:18] Speaker 2: If you have two all-stars, then one of them says,
[27:22] Speaker 2: I'm cold tonight from distance, so I'm just going to
[27:25] Speaker 2: put my head down. I'm going to take it.
[27:27] Speaker 1: To the rack.
[27:27] Speaker 2: I'm going to get to the free throw line. But
[27:29] Speaker 2: they don't plan B it. They just keep jacking threes.
[27:31] Speaker 1: Yep.
[27:32] Speaker 5: And there's no real drive and kick scenarios for them.
[27:35] Speaker 5: It's drive and try to get a bucket for both
[27:37] Speaker 5: of them.
[27:38] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[27:38] Speaker 5: And then that's where you see Quentin Grimes playing defense
[27:42] Speaker 5: and like cutting them off, cutting them off.
[27:44] Speaker 1: It's like you had the ball for 20 seconds, JB.
[27:45] Speaker 1: Shot it at the free throw line.
[27:47] Speaker 5: And then you're trying and you're trying. That's not the
[27:51] Speaker 5: flow that they used to. And I think that's the
[27:53] Speaker 5: difference where you say follow the game plan. They're doing
[27:56] Speaker 5: too much of that at some point, especially in the
[27:59] Speaker 5: fourth quarter.
[28:01] Speaker 1: And when a game's like that.
[28:02] Speaker 5: Close out, though, think about it. Think about how they're
[28:05] Speaker 5: not really tripping.
[28:07] Speaker 1: That's what I was saying. Like, they playing around. They
[28:09] Speaker 1: playing around. They like, ah, we'll get the next one. Yeah.
[28:12] Speaker 1: It's cool.
[28:14] Speaker 3: The math suggests, though, if the Celtics can do that
[28:16] Speaker 3: in four or seven games, right, if they can be
[28:18] Speaker 3: high from three, then they can win a series. But
[28:21] Speaker 3: does it feel like they're starting to play with fire
[28:22] Speaker 3: a little bit by relying on that long-distance shot?
[28:25] Speaker 4: I need to see when they was playing against Dallas
[28:27] Speaker 4: in the championship, James Brown like that, picking up full court,
[28:33] Speaker 4: doing them type of things like that. That Boston, I
[28:37] Speaker 4: feel like nobody could beat that team right there.
[28:39] Speaker 1: Well, you got to look.
[28:40] Speaker 5: Jalen Brown had a whole different incentive of not having
[28:45] Speaker 5: to pick up the slack.
[28:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, 30 points a game. Right.
[28:48] Speaker 5: He's literally like, I'm going to do this. I got
[28:51] Speaker 5: Drew over here. I got Brazingus over here. We got
[28:54] Speaker 5: guys who can pick up the slack.
[28:55] Speaker 1: But now.
[28:57] Speaker 5: You lose that, and you're depending on two other guys,
[29:00] Speaker 5: who is Pritchard and Derrick White, who's not presenting to
[29:03] Speaker 5: see Drew Holiday, that you're like, do I trust them? No,
[29:06] Speaker 5: I got to pick up the slack. And I think
[29:08] Speaker 5: he kind of gets tired after a while. He's kind
[29:11] Speaker 5: of burnt out at this point. He has to stop
[29:14] Speaker 5: this guy and.
[29:15] Speaker 1: Come over here.
[29:15] Speaker 4: Try to pick up somebody full court and then try
[29:18] Speaker 4: to get 30.
[29:19] Speaker 1: Man, different type of conditioning, man.
[29:21] Speaker 2: In the finals, Lucas shot 22% from three in large
[29:25] Speaker 2: part because of Jalen Bryant.
[29:28] Speaker 5: It's going to be different, but I actually like Philly
[29:31] Speaker 5: pushing them to seven. I would hope that that would
[29:33] Speaker 5: be the scenario for the series. Not to say that
[29:38] Speaker 5: Boston doesn't deserve to win it. but I think this
[29:41] Speaker 5: last game.
[29:42] Speaker 2: Do you think Boston wins the next one?
[29:44] Speaker 1: Joel Embiid is an anomaly, bro. He's an anomaly. You
[29:48] Speaker 1: don't know how to plan for him. Yep.
[29:52] Speaker 4: But I feel like they're not going to play around
[29:55] Speaker 4: from the start to finish this game.
[29:57] Speaker 1: What is not playing around? Does that mean making shots?
[30:01] Speaker 4: When you were 13, the whole game looked like they
[30:04] Speaker 4: thought Philly quit. That's what it looked like. Like Lakers
[30:07] Speaker 4: against Houston on Sunday. It looked like they thought they
[30:11] Speaker 4: had the game already, too. And when Philly turned it on,
[30:15] Speaker 4: it was hard to.
[30:15] Speaker 1: Just for sure. Yeah, turn that money back on. That's
[30:18] Speaker 1: what it looked like.
[30:19] Speaker 5: It looked like they started turning it up. And it
[30:20] Speaker 5: was like, are y'all going to do something about this?
[30:24] Speaker 5: And they just kept turning it up. It looked like that.
[30:27] Speaker 2: Just for the record, in case it does get to
[30:29] Speaker 2: a game seven back in Boston, this is what Embiid
[30:31] Speaker 2: has done in his three game sevens, none of them
[30:34] Speaker 2: in the conference finals. But he's lost all three.
[30:36] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
[30:37] Speaker 2: Remember the Trey Young Hawks at Philly? That was a
[30:41] Speaker 2: game seven conference semifinals.
[30:43] Speaker 1: Kawhi?
[30:44] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that was the next one. But in the
[30:46] Speaker 2: Trey Young game, Joel had eight turnovers. Okay, so it's
[30:50] Speaker 2: hard to overcome eight. And then the Kawhi game where
[30:53] Speaker 2: the ball's bouncing all around the rim at Toronto. In
[30:56] Speaker 2: that game, Joel was six of 18 and one of
[30:59] Speaker 2: six from three. He was not an anomaly in that game.
[31:03] Speaker 2: I mean, he was a weird anomaly, right?
[31:05] Speaker 1: Yep, yep.
[31:06] Speaker 2: Okay, and then at Boston, James Harden didn't show up either,
[31:10] Speaker 2: but game seven at Boston, Joel was five of 18
[31:13] Speaker 2: and 0 for four from three. So you can see
[31:16] Speaker 2: three game sevens, and Joel, we just saw the sound
[31:19] Speaker 2: where he's saying, I don't want to go through another
[31:22] Speaker 2: offseason wondering about what if. Well, if he gets a
[31:25] Speaker 2: shot at Boston, in Boston in game seven, let's see,
[31:29] Speaker 2: can he go unicorn? Can he go alien? Can he,
[31:32] Speaker 2: because he's capable.
[31:34] Speaker 1: I don't think he has a choice. Yeah.
[31:35] Speaker 5: But the numbers suggest that. But that's the great thing
[31:38] Speaker 5: about numbers and history, right? Yeah, you change it. You
[31:41] Speaker 5: can change it. You can actually say, all right, numbers
[31:45] Speaker 5: say you're not going to show up in the seventh game. Like,
[31:47] Speaker 5: we've seen this over and over again.
[31:49] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[31:49] Speaker 5: But this is the opportunity to change that. And I
[31:52] Speaker 5: think he's grown. When you think about his maturity, he's
[31:56] Speaker 5: just grateful to be able to be back out there.
[32:00] Speaker 5: My knee almost took me completely out of this thing.
[32:03] Speaker 5: Let me mature basketball-wise, understanding where to get my spots,
[32:08] Speaker 5: where to get easy shots. Efficiency is everything in the
[32:11] Speaker 5: game today. And I think that's what we've lost is
[32:13] Speaker 5: the efficiency. And I think he's trying to get that
[32:16] Speaker 5: back based on those numbers and those finals appearances or
[32:19] Speaker 5: those game seven appearances. You can't have that as your
[32:24] Speaker 5: alien guy, five or 16 or five or 18.
[32:27] Speaker 1: You can't have none of those. You just can't.
[32:29] Speaker 2: And you've never lifted this franchise to even a conference final.
[32:33] Speaker 2: That's just mind-blowing to me.
[32:34] Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what.
[32:36] Speaker 4: defense with Boston Duke because you can't put Derek White
[32:38] Speaker 4: on them like how OKC be doing with.
[32:42] Speaker 5: You can't front them. They was trying to front the post.
[32:44] Speaker 4: I'm trying to see. I would let Kelly shoot threes
[32:48] Speaker 4: when you.
[32:49] Speaker 1: Would leave him. He's the only one that ain't got
[32:51] Speaker 1: hot yet. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I would double
[32:54] Speaker 1: off him. I let Escom shoot. Oh, yeah, B.J. Just cut. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[33:00] Speaker 1: Just cut. And he a rookie? Yeah, he a rookie.
[33:02] Speaker 5: But he's proven in the game, too, that he can
[33:05] Speaker 5: actually shoot it.
[33:06] Speaker 1: He's been missing them threes lately. Yeah, he has. He
[33:09] Speaker 1: has given the Celtics a 30-piece on their court. He has.
[33:13] Speaker 1: Early in his career.
[33:13] Speaker 3: But looking at the Sixers' big three, played 23 games
[33:17] Speaker 3: together this season, 12 and 11 in those games that
[33:19] Speaker 3: have not won a home playoff game in this series
[33:23] Speaker 3: with the shifting back to Philly for game six.
[33:25] Speaker 1: So. What do the Sixers need to do if they
[33:27] Speaker 1: want to force a game seven? Scouting report-wise, you got
[33:34] Speaker 1: to play fast. You got to play fast.
[33:36] Speaker 5: And that's going to be hard with Joel on the
[33:38] Speaker 5: floor because he needs to slow the game down in
[33:42] Speaker 5: order to get to his spots. And the pick and
[33:45] Speaker 5: pops that they do do when they play Eskom at
[33:47] Speaker 5: the four, they look a little bit more spread out,
[33:52] Speaker 5: like they can actually play drive and kick. but I
[33:55] Speaker 5: don't think it's offense that they need to focus on.
[33:57] Speaker 5: I think they need to figure out how to sustain
[34:00] Speaker 5: Boston's three points and how to rebound and go. Second
[34:05] Speaker 5: chance points are always something that Boston continues to do
[34:08] Speaker 5: to get the second chance points and get.
[34:10] Speaker 1: The three off the second chance points.
[34:12] Speaker 5: That's where they actually shoot a high percentage. They get
[34:15] Speaker 5: the rebound, kick it out to that guy, he hits
[34:17] Speaker 5: the three. Hauser gets a lot of his threes that
[34:20] Speaker 5: way where he might miss the first one, they get
[34:22] Speaker 5: the offensive rebound and kick it back to him. That's
[34:24] Speaker 5: He's not going to miss two in a row. Same
[34:26] Speaker 5: for Jason Tatum. Letting those guys get comfortable is something
[34:29] Speaker 5: you cannot do. Paul George has to up his defense
[34:32] Speaker 5: and almost focus primarily on doing what Jalen Brown did
[34:35] Speaker 5: to Luka. I have to focus on stopping one of
[34:38] Speaker 5: these two guys and make that my primary mission. Andre
[34:42] Speaker 5: Drummond has to step up and do more. I feel
[34:45] Speaker 5: like depending on Joel to just carry everything on his
[34:47] Speaker 5: shoulders is different, but I think if he steps in,
[34:50] Speaker 5: And he actually brings something different than just trying to
[34:53] Speaker 5: step out and shoot a couple threes.
[34:55] Speaker 1: Like, need him to be a presence. Yeah, but he
[34:57] Speaker 1: been hitting that. He do hit them. And he hitting
[35:00] Speaker 1: his free throws, too. I've been shocked he hitting them threes.
[35:02] Speaker 1: He hit his free throws, too.
[35:03] Speaker 2: He made one last night.
[35:04] Speaker 1: Man.
[35:04] Speaker 2: Wow.
[35:05] Speaker 5: I think giving Grimes more opportunity to be second-tier edge comb,
[35:11] Speaker 5: I think that'll be good for them.
[35:12] Speaker 4: I don't know. When Philly win, they stars has big games.
[35:18] Speaker 4: When they won in Philly, Maxie was killing. Yesterday, MB unstoppable.
[35:26] Speaker 4: So I feel like other teams don't really need their
[35:32] Speaker 4: star players to do that much every night to win
[35:35] Speaker 4: a game. So that's why I don't pick Philly over Boston.
[35:41] Speaker 4: That's why I think Boston because... You ain't going to
[35:44] Speaker 4: have no nights every night. Maxie was hitting every shot,
[35:47] Speaker 4: I feel like, game three. Or was that game three?
[35:49] Speaker 1: Yeah. When they won. Game two. The game two, they won.
[35:54] Speaker 2: And everything.
[35:56] Speaker 1: And everything, man. But he was being aggressive. He was.
[35:59] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[36:00] Speaker 1: Ultra aggressive.
[36:02] Speaker 5: And I think last night he was having spurts of aggression,
[36:05] Speaker 5: which opened it up.
[36:06] Speaker 2: But guess what else he had? He had 10 rebounds
[36:08] Speaker 2: last night.
[36:09] Speaker 1: He did have 10. I seen that. And he had
[36:10] Speaker 1: four rebounds.
[36:12] Speaker 2: But that was like West Brookian to me, right? Where
[36:15] Speaker 2: you're just like battling your ass off for every loose ball.
[36:19] Speaker 5: But it's win or go home at this point. So
[36:22] Speaker 5: that's how he was playing. Like, I need to make
[36:24] Speaker 5: sure I cover the board.
[36:26] Speaker 1: NBA season is over for a lot of people. A
[36:28] Speaker 1: lot of people. People outside.
[36:30] Speaker 4: I'm just really focused on this like it's still the season.
[36:33] Speaker 1: But it's over for a lot of people. Win or
[36:35] Speaker 1: go home. Cancun on three. On me. Tequila on me. Man.
[36:40] Speaker 1: For sure.
[36:41] Speaker 2: But to me.
[36:43] Speaker 2: In game six, you just got to feed the beast.
[36:45] Speaker 2: I mean, if you have to play slow, just play
[36:49] Speaker 2: his speed. Because he can't run up and down the floor.
[36:51] Speaker 2: But he did last 39 minutes last night at Boston.
[36:55] Speaker 2: And I just, Vucevic and Keita, they got no chance, man.
[37:00] Speaker 2: That's your one big mismatch.
[37:03] Speaker 1: That's what I was saying. Who would you send to help, too?
[37:07] Speaker 5: Because you got to send somebody to help.
[37:10] Speaker 1: That's a good segue. I'm like, who are you going
[37:11] Speaker 1: to leave open?
[37:14] Speaker 5: If you were doing your percentages on that double team,
[37:17] Speaker 5: you got to double Joel.
[37:18] Speaker 1: You got to. Who are you coming off of? Is
[37:22] Speaker 1: it Kelly and Vijay? All those guys. They're capable. They're
[37:26] Speaker 1: capable shooters, for sure.
[37:29] Speaker 5: Especially if you got PG, Grimes, and Oubre out there.
[37:33] Speaker 5: And then let me have VJ in the slider, slasher, diver.
[37:40] Speaker 1: Go dive and dunk that bitch every now and again.
[37:43] Speaker 2: I mean, you think, let's leave the, what is he,
[37:47] Speaker 2: 20 years old? Let's leave the kid.
[37:50] Speaker 1: Let's dare him. But you know what?
[37:53] Speaker 2: He He's a grown man to me. He's shown me
[37:56] Speaker 2: where you don't mess with him.
[37:59] Speaker 5: Yeah, he actually does have that persona where I'm in
[38:02] Speaker 5: the moment.
[38:03] Speaker 1: Feels kind of like Ant-Man-ish. He gives that Ant-Man-ish attitude. Like, yeah,
[38:07] Speaker 1: you don't think I'm ready for this?
[38:09] Speaker 5: And he's shown it throughout the season in certain moments
[38:12] Speaker 5: where we're looking for him to show up, and he
[38:15] Speaker 5: shows up.
[38:15] Speaker 4: In fact, he keeps shooting when he misses.
[38:19] Speaker 1: That's a good and bad thing. Yeah, it's a good
[38:21] Speaker 1: and bad, but That was the kid that got hurt.
[38:24] Speaker 3: Last thing before we move on. So, B came back
[38:26] Speaker 3: game four Sunday. Game five was Tuesday. Game six Thursday
[38:30] Speaker 3: if they can win that. Game seven Saturday. Four games
[38:34] Speaker 3: in six days or whatever it is.
[38:36] Speaker 1: They don't want to do that. They didn't have to
[38:39] Speaker 1: play New York, I think. Yeah. They don't want to
[38:42] Speaker 1: do that.
[38:42] Speaker 3: You got two more left in them or is the
[38:44] Speaker 3: rest of the team going to have to pick them up?
[38:45] Speaker 2: You sure they're going to play New York?
[38:47] Speaker 1: It's three.
[38:47] Speaker 4: Yeah, because both of them can't win on the road,
[38:53] Speaker 4: I feel like.
[38:55] Speaker 1: It's tough.
[38:56] Speaker 5: Like you said, if they don't make those adjustments as
[38:58] Speaker 5: far as doubling Embiid or doing something, it could be
[39:01] Speaker 5: tough for Boston. I hate to say it because everybody's
[39:05] Speaker 5: picking them as the clear-cut winners.
[39:07] Speaker 1: But it will still be twos versus threes, though. Yeah,
[39:10] Speaker 1: for sure.
[39:12] Speaker 5: But if you slow the game down, if you Philly,
[39:15] Speaker 5: you slow the game down, the game benefits you because
[39:20] Speaker 5: it's going.
[39:20] Speaker 1: To be less threes. Pass breaks, yeah.
[39:23] Speaker 5: And if you if you're executing on the offensive end
[39:26] Speaker 5: and you're not a long shot long rebounds and get
[39:29] Speaker 5: them out for.
[39:30] Speaker 1: Them they don't like that and.
[39:31] Speaker 5: You start picking them up full court you shorten the
[39:34] Speaker 5: game down a lot so now it's 14 seconds on
[39:37] Speaker 5: the shot clock when you're starting you're shooting the ball
[39:39] Speaker 5: with three seconds left on the shot clock it is
[39:42] Speaker 5: contested we're.
[39:43] Speaker 1: Living with percentages at this point it's time for derrick
[39:46] Speaker 1: white Come on, Derrick White.
[39:48] Speaker 4: Derrick White got 140, right? 170 or something? Something like that.
[39:54] Speaker 4: Close to 200. It's time. So you guys talked about
[39:57] Speaker 4: the Knicks and Hawks. Let's shift over to that series.
[40:00] Speaker 4: So after suffering back-to-back one-point losses in games two and three,
[40:04] Speaker 4: Knicks made a statement in game four, leading by as
[40:06] Speaker 4: much as 24 points in the fourth quarter. Both teams
[40:10] Speaker 4: pulled their starters.
[40:10] Speaker 3: Cat messed around and dropped his first career playoff triple-double
[40:14] Speaker 3: in game four to help the Knicks tie the series.
[40:15] Speaker 3: Big Bodega just a fourth player in Knicks playoff history
[40:18] Speaker 3: to accomplish defeat. Cat and his Knicks teammates celebrated the
[40:22] Speaker 3: win by eating some of the iconic lemon pepper loo
[40:25] Speaker 3: flavored Magic City wings. Series headed back to Madison Square
[40:28] Speaker 3: Garden for a crucial game five with the winner of
[40:30] Speaker 3: that game going on to win the series nearly 82%
[40:33] Speaker 3: of the time. Jalen Brunton had his lowest scoring output
[40:36] Speaker 3: of the series in game four, but gave the Knicks
[40:39] Speaker 3: faithful another legendary performance in game five. Let's take a
[40:42] Speaker 3: look at the highlights if we can, please. New York
[40:45] Speaker 3: took control of the game from start to finish, outscoring
[40:48] Speaker 3: the Hawks 35-22 in the first quarter, taking a 16-point
[40:52] Speaker 3: lead into the break and leading by as much as
[40:56] Speaker 3: 32 points in this game. The Knicks captain got to
[41:00] Speaker 3: cooking early and often, exploding for 39 points and 8 assists.
[41:04] Speaker 3: Brunson was 15 for 23 from the field, 3 for
[41:05] Speaker 3: 5 from 3. It was his.
[41:06] Speaker 1: Franchise record 22nd career, 30 points.
[41:11] Speaker 3: Playoff game in his 13th playoff game with 35-plus points
[41:14] Speaker 3: and 5-plus assists.
[41:16] Speaker 1: Catt followed up his triple-double with a double-double.
[41:18] Speaker 3: Scoring 14 of his 16 points in the first half
[41:22] Speaker 3: and adding 14 boards and 6 assists in the game.
[41:24] Speaker 1: And O.G.
[41:25] Speaker 3: Ananobi, who's been playing solid all series, added 17 points
[41:28] Speaker 3: and 10 rebounds on the Hawks' side.
[41:30] Speaker 1: Jalen Johnson put up 18-10 boards and 6 assists.
[41:33] Speaker 3: And to kill Alexander Walker and Dyson Daniels combined for
[41:35] Speaker 3: 33 points on 13 of 22 shooting.
[41:38] Speaker 1: But C.J.
[41:39] Speaker 3: McCollum had his worst game of the series. The Hawks'
[41:42] Speaker 3: hero in games two and three finished with just six
[41:45] Speaker 3: points and four turnovers. Three for ten from the field,
[41:48] Speaker 3: missing both his three-point attempts, all three of his free-throw attempts.
[41:53] Speaker 3: Brunton had 17 points in the fourth quarter, got a
[41:56] Speaker 3: standing ovation from the home crowd. Knicks had a plus-21
[41:59] Speaker 3: rebound advantage and were plus-18 defensively. and points in the
[42:03] Speaker 3: paint to secure the decisive win. So New York has
[42:06] Speaker 3: an average margin of victory of more than 18 points
[42:08] Speaker 3: per game, and their three wins with both losses coming
[42:12] Speaker 3: by just one point. Now they head back to Atlanta
[42:13] Speaker 3: with a chance to reach the second round for the
[42:16] Speaker 3: fourth straight season. So, Shaw, we will start with you.
[42:19] Speaker 3: What did the Knicks show you in their Game 5
[42:21] Speaker 3: win over the Hawks?
[42:26] Speaker 5: They showed me that Jalen Brunson loves playing at home.
[42:31] Speaker 5: And whenever he's in his groove, they rally around him
[42:34] Speaker 5: and his energy. And I think that starts with Cat
[42:38] Speaker 5: establishing that he's going to play in the post. I
[42:41] Speaker 5: think when he plays on the perimeter, it's a different game.
[42:43] Speaker 5: It's harder for Jalen Brunson to get into his groove
[42:46] Speaker 5: because everybody's out on the perimeter. But the moment he's
[42:48] Speaker 5: on the post establishing himself, that gives Jalen Brunson a
[42:53] Speaker 5: whole different perimeter of movement when it comes to his
[42:56] Speaker 5: mid-range shots and being able to probe. And I think
[43:00] Speaker 5: that that's the difference maker. As good as New York
[43:04] Speaker 5: can be with Jalen Brunson being hot, we've seen them
[43:07] Speaker 5: be very, very bad when him and Cat don't know
[43:12] Speaker 5: how to be on the same page.
[43:14] Speaker 1: And I think.
[43:16] Speaker 5: Historically, between the two of them playing together, it's better
[43:22] Speaker 5: when Brunson's hot than it is when Cat's hot. But
[43:25] Speaker 5: I think also when You've got somebody like Jalen Brunson
[43:31] Speaker 5: that can carry your team at that size and he's
[43:34] Speaker 5: taking the matchup serious out there. You have a better
[43:37] Speaker 5: chance of winning. My thing is right now is with
[43:41] Speaker 5: the Atlanta Hawks is why they change up their philosophy
[43:44] Speaker 5: defensively when it comes to Cat and Brunson. They played
[43:48] Speaker 5: well with Brunson one game and then they let him
[43:51] Speaker 5: get off the next because they're afraid of the other
[43:54] Speaker 5: guys hitting shots. percentages are going to show you that
[43:56] Speaker 5: you're going to let Bridges, you're going to let Hart,
[43:59] Speaker 5: you're going to let OG, you're going to let those
[44:01] Speaker 5: guys shoot.
[44:02] Speaker 1: They're going to shoot you in the game or shoot
[44:04] Speaker 1: you out of the game.
[44:05] Speaker 5: I'd rather take that chance than let Jalen Brunson give
[44:07] Speaker 5: me 40 and give the energy to the home crowd
[44:11] Speaker 5: and take us out of the game. They didn't load
[44:14] Speaker 5: the boxes. They didn't force Jalen to pass the ball.
[44:18] Speaker 5: I think that's the number one scouting report I would
[44:20] Speaker 5: use going into this next game. Force him to have
[44:24] Speaker 5: 12 to 15 assists. He has to have a low
[44:27] Speaker 5: scoring output game in a very high passive output game
[44:33] Speaker 5: where OG and those guys are hitting spot up shots
[44:36] Speaker 5: based on him probing. I'm taking those chances as Atlanta
[44:40] Speaker 5: because we have a better chance of them missing those
[44:42] Speaker 5: shots and getting out to the races and playing our game.
[44:46] Speaker 1: Their game is not half court.
[44:49] Speaker 5: As much as CJ McCullough can play, He got ate
[44:52] Speaker 5: up just simply because you're stagnant and you have to
[44:56] Speaker 5: play defense on the other end against Jalen Brunson. You
[44:59] Speaker 5: and Dyson Daniels was trying to figure out who's going
[45:02] Speaker 5: to get this clip in your face every time down
[45:06] Speaker 5: instead of what he was doing before, which was preserving
[45:09] Speaker 5: his energy just for scoring. And now that he has
[45:12] Speaker 5: to play defense, it's going to be a little bit different.
[45:15] Speaker 5: So they need to get back to the basics of
[45:17] Speaker 5: making the other guys play on New York and then
[45:20] Speaker 5: speeding the game up for themselves. Jalen Johnson, Kaminga, they
[45:24] Speaker 5: play better when they're in transition. They play better when
[45:26] Speaker 5: they're playing defense. Okongwo, is that his name?
[45:31] Speaker 1: Okongwo's got to play. He's got to play.
[45:34] Speaker 5: He's got to show up and play, especially defensively. I
[45:38] Speaker 5: don't think he's imposing his will. He's playing small. Jalen
[45:42] Speaker 5: Johnson is playing small. He's not taking the challenges of
[45:45] Speaker 5: actually going to guard cat when you need to.
[45:48] Speaker 1: And I think once you do.
[45:49] Speaker 5: Those things, it changes the trajectory of how your team
[45:53] Speaker 5: is going to show up to every game.
[45:55] Speaker 3: So Swaggy, let's shift over to you. What did the
[45:57] Speaker 3: Knicks show you in their game? Five win over the Hawks.
[46:00] Speaker 3: They got 3-2 lead in the series.
[46:03] Speaker 4: I don't know. This is where you judge the stars
[46:07] Speaker 4: of the team, man. I think Jalen Robinson and Towns
[46:09] Speaker 4: showed up to the occasion. Like McCann said, I think
[46:14] Speaker 4: if you start off early playing through Towns, establish him,
[46:17] Speaker 4: get him confidence, get him.
[46:19] Speaker 1: Going, it opens up for Bronson, for sure.
[46:25] Speaker 4: But I think McClellan really, I don't think he can
[46:28] Speaker 4: do that every night at this age. At his age,
[46:31] Speaker 4: he can't give you 32 and then 23. He can't
[46:34] Speaker 4: sustain that. A lot of people ain't... Like the King,
[46:38] Speaker 4: you know, I know I come back to the King.
[46:39] Speaker 2: The King is seven years older than you.
[46:43] Speaker 1: You know, it's hard to do that. It is struggling.
[46:46] Speaker 5: But I feel like they got away from the game plan.
[46:49] Speaker 5: And being a young team, that happens. New York did
[46:54] Speaker 5: what they're supposed to. The veteran team been together for longer.
[46:59] Speaker 5: Know each other.
[47:00] Speaker 4: Been around each other. Been in situations like this.
[47:06] Speaker 1: And When you.
[47:09] Speaker 4: Get it going, when you find a role, I think
[47:11] Speaker 4: the coaches have started playing more players, too. I think
[47:15] Speaker 4: they need to get Bridges back going. He's even lost
[47:20] Speaker 4: all confidence. You can tell the coach bring him out.
[47:24] Speaker 4: He played with 19 minutes the other night. I feel
[47:29] Speaker 4: like New York's still in trouble. They're just playing a
[47:31] Speaker 4: team that they're better than right now just because They're
[47:36] Speaker 4: the togetherness. They've been together. They established the Bronson Towns,
[47:42] Speaker 4: know who they are in the NBA right now. And
[47:46] Speaker 4: the Hawks are still trying to find that. They don't
[47:48] Speaker 4: know if Jalen Johnson is the star. Then you got
[47:52] Speaker 4: Alexander coming into a new role where he feels like
[47:56] Speaker 4: he's the leader of the team or is he the star.
[47:58] Speaker 4: Then you see McCullin showing flashes of Blazers fans. days
[48:04] Speaker 4: versus when they went to the semifinals and got punked
[48:07] Speaker 4: by us.
[48:07] Speaker 1: Punked by you. Yeah.
[48:11] Speaker 4: But New York, they're going to be in trouble. That's
[48:15] Speaker 4: why I don't trust New York going to the finals.
[48:17] Speaker 1: You do not trust New York? I do not trust them.
[48:20] Speaker 3: Reaching their first finals this century. But you talk about C.J.
[48:22] Speaker 3: McCollum quickly. Had that 32-point game, game two. Since then,
[48:27] Speaker 3: scoring's gone down in each of the last three games,
[48:29] Speaker 3: 23 in game three, 17 game four.
[48:32] Speaker 1: Six points. In game five. Let's shift over to you.
[48:37] Speaker 2: Last night, to me, for the New York Knicks, that
[48:41] Speaker 2: was fool's gold. I give the Hawks a great chance
[48:46] Speaker 2: of winning game six at home and a good chance
[48:49] Speaker 2: of winning game seven.
[48:50] Speaker 1: Back in the garden. Oh, shit. Steve A. Smith, listen.
[48:54] Speaker 2: And I apologize to a lot of my friends who
[48:57] Speaker 2: are Knicks fans, our producer Rob, my man Stephen A.
[49:01] Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I just don't trust this team even against
[49:04] Speaker 2: the Hawks. Last night was fool's gold because the stars
[49:10] Speaker 2: came out in New York.
[49:12] Speaker 1: It's just.
[49:13] Speaker 2: Celebrity row is the front row. It's Chalamet and Kylie
[49:18] Speaker 2: Jenner and Tina Fey. and tracy morgan and.
[49:21] Speaker 4: Fat joe yeah all of them they come out for
[49:25] Speaker 4: their team though i like they do be showing up show.
[49:27] Speaker 2: Up ben stiller's ben stiller out there patrick is there
[49:32] Speaker 2: and clyde is there and Carmelo is there.
[49:35] Speaker 1: Carmelo is there. Everybody. Okay. I mean, Marbury.
[49:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's correct. Jalen rose to the occasion, and he
[49:45] Speaker 2: gives you 39 on only 23 shots. But what got
[49:49] Speaker 2: me was he took 23, and next on the team
[49:53] Speaker 2: in shots attempted is 8. And it's Josh Hart and OG.
[49:58] Speaker 2: They take 8. And Cat takes 7 shots last night.
[50:04] Speaker 2: but did have six assists, and to me, he is
[50:08] Speaker 2: happy to just hand it over to Jalen and say,
[50:11] Speaker 2: you do this, because I don't like the pressure of this,
[50:15] Speaker 2: especially at home. I'm going to stay out of harm's way.
[50:18] Speaker 2: I'm going to give you the basketball and hope you
[50:20] Speaker 2: score the basketball and make me look good, and I'm
[50:23] Speaker 2: going to just stay a little off radar here because
[50:26] Speaker 2: I don't think he wants to be on radar in
[50:29] Speaker 2: New York City at this moment.
[50:31] Speaker 5: You think that contributes to him playing good or bad?
[50:36] Speaker 5: Like when he plays good, it looks like he likes
[50:38] Speaker 5: the pressure. When he plays bad, it looks like he
[50:41] Speaker 5: shrinks immediately.
[50:44] Speaker 1: No, Towns. Oh, yeah.
[50:47] Speaker 2: Is he not?
[50:49] Speaker 1: For sure.
[50:49] Speaker 2: Look, Jalen Brunson is six feet tall maybe, maybe. And
[50:53] Speaker 2: what he did, it's just extraordinary. I give it up.
[50:56] Speaker 2: What you did last night in front of Celebrity Row,
[50:59] Speaker 2: you did that. But their best player is Karl-Anthony Towns.
[51:04] Speaker 2: I mean, as far as just firepower, you know, what
[51:08] Speaker 2: do we give him?
[51:08] Speaker 1: 6'11 and threes. Rebounds.
[51:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, he does it all. And when he gets in
[51:13] Speaker 2: that aggression mode, which isn't often because he's more kitty
[51:17] Speaker 2: cat to me mostly. But come on, man. He's it.
[51:22] Speaker 2: And last night he's like, I'm just happy over here.
[51:25] Speaker 1: You do it. You do it.
[51:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, you take care of it. And look, the Hawks–
[51:31] Speaker 2: You know how it goes in the playoffs. There are
[51:32] Speaker 2: these games like this one last night. They just did
[51:35] Speaker 2: not show up from the jump. I mean, literally, it's
[51:38] Speaker 2: 35-22 after quarter. Look at the rebounds last night.
[51:42] Speaker 1: 48-27?
[51:44] Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? Talk about getting punked. That's getting
[51:48] Speaker 2: punked to me. And they don't make any threes and
[51:52] Speaker 2: then CJ, he just looked old last night. I don't know,
[51:55] Speaker 2: he looked like he was.
[51:56] Speaker 4: 44, right?
[51:56] Speaker 1: He was in New York. Yeah, and he was supposed to.
[51:59] Speaker 2: Be the new villain in New York, right? No, he
[52:02] Speaker 2: wasn't last night. He goes 3 of 10, as Josiah
[52:06] Speaker 2: pointed out, 0 of 2 from 3, and then he
[52:08] Speaker 2: missed all three of his free throws. And he's like,
[52:10] Speaker 2: I ain't playing tonight, man.
[52:12] Speaker 1: You're not?
[52:13] Speaker 2: I bet he plays in game six.
[52:15] Speaker 1: I just bet he does. For sure. Here's what happens.
[52:21] Speaker 2: If Atlanta somehow wins game six by one point, because
[52:24] Speaker 2: it seems like that's how they do it, then you
[52:27] Speaker 2: go back to the Garden in its celebrity row, and
[52:30] Speaker 2: all of a sudden the celebrities that Jalen Brunson fed
[52:33] Speaker 2: off last night, all of a sudden they're on the
[52:36] Speaker 2: edge of their seats, and the pressure just goes through
[52:38] Speaker 2: the MSG roof, and they can't live up to it.
[52:42] Speaker 2: Because no city wants its team to go places more
[52:46] Speaker 2: than that city wants its team. They just go crazy
[52:50] Speaker 2: in New York City for that team in these kind
[52:53] Speaker 2: of moments. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if
[52:58] Speaker 2: the Knicks lose by one point in Game 7 at home.
[53:01] Speaker 2: That's what it shapes up to.
[53:02] Speaker 1: They ain't won a Game 7, what, two years back-to-back?
[53:05] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[53:05] Speaker 1: Against Pacers? Yeah. And what was the year OG got
[53:10] Speaker 1: hurt in that game? Ah. Because I know back-to-back here,
[53:15] Speaker 1: Game 7, they lost.
[53:16] Speaker 2: They've lost back-to-back.
[53:18] Speaker 1: It's unconventional.
[53:20] Speaker 5: Everything you just said is depending on the crowd and
[53:24] Speaker 5: Jalen Brunson in the Game 7, how much pressure.
[53:27] Speaker 1: Is on the city to win that game? What? To
[53:31] Speaker 1: win that game.
[53:32] Speaker 3: So Pacers in 2024, but then they lost in 6
[53:34] Speaker 3: in 2025.
[53:35] Speaker 1: Lost in 6. So the pressure is on. If they can... If...
[53:41] Speaker 1: We're saying a big if. Yeah. They reach seven. Yeah.
[53:45] Speaker 1: And don't close out? It's over. There's some questions.
[53:49] Speaker 5: Like, we're talking about New York drowning itself in the
[53:52] Speaker 5: old island.
[53:53] Speaker 1: They all come off the bridge. They're going to get
[53:55] Speaker 1: rid of everybody. Man, it's like the pressure's on. Yeah,
[53:58] Speaker 1: they're going to have to get rid of the fans. Man,
[54:00] Speaker 1: change the logo and the whole nine. Like, it's just
[54:02] Speaker 1: a different energy, like you said. Like, seven games in
[54:05] Speaker 1: New York, close out, make or break. Oh my lord.
[54:10] Speaker 1: They really believe in this team though.
[54:13] Speaker 5: And this is my question though. When has Jalen Brunson
[54:17] Speaker 5: ever taken the fall? Has he ever been in position
[54:22] Speaker 5: to take the fall? Like Carl Anthony Towns has taken
[54:24] Speaker 5: the fall. Julius Randle took the fall. Jalen Brunson has
[54:30] Speaker 5: been off the hook in a lot of these scenarios
[54:34] Speaker 5: where they still haven't went this way.
[54:36] Speaker 1: And we're giving you the You're the guy. It's going
[54:40] Speaker 1: to be Bridges this time.
[54:42] Speaker 5: It's got to be because he's the only one not performing, right?
[54:45] Speaker 5: So you say, I'm doing what I'm supposed to do.
[54:47] Speaker 5: But you're also supposed to take us over the top.
[54:50] Speaker 5: He did turn it over when Game was on the line.
[54:53] Speaker 1: He did? He did turn it over. But I never
[54:56] Speaker 1: see him taking the blame.
[54:57] Speaker 2: It wouldn't be Mike Brown this time.
[55:00] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, Mike Brown. Easy target. Yeah, easy. Easy target. Yeah.
[55:05] Speaker 3: So after game four, discussions about whether the Knicks offense
[55:08] Speaker 3: should run through Cat or Brunson. Brunson appeared to make
[55:11] Speaker 3: a statement in game five, like we mentioned, taking those
[55:14] Speaker 3: 23 shots. I don't think anybody else in the starting
[55:16] Speaker 3: lineup took double digits. He was more off ball in
[55:19] Speaker 3: that game. And they were running a lot of stuff
[55:21] Speaker 3: through Cat, but. Is the Knicks offense better running through
[55:24] Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson or the big bodega moving forward?
[55:28] Speaker 2: I mean, it's just, it's Brunson or bust to me.
[55:31] Speaker 2: It's just, it's just who they are. It's they're, they're
[55:34] Speaker 2: built around him. And as Rashad points out, he's kind
[55:38] Speaker 2: of infallible, you know, like he's, he's beyond criticism. He's
[55:42] Speaker 2: got the greenest light. You, you, you'll find the side
[55:46] Speaker 2: of Christmas trees, right? And it just, it, it, Last
[55:52] Speaker 2: night was the essence of the Knicks where he's going
[55:55] Speaker 2: to take 23 shots and he's going to take 15
[55:57] Speaker 2: more than anybody else takes. And the problem with it
[56:01] Speaker 2: is that it's kind of, I'm not saying he's Allen Iverson,
[56:05] Speaker 2: but he's Iverson's size. He's something like that. He's in
[56:11] Speaker 2: the ballpark of it somewhere. But But Iverson took that
[56:15] Speaker 2: team as far as he could get it. He got
[56:17] Speaker 2: it to the finals.
[56:18] Speaker 1: It's incredible.
[56:19] Speaker 2: That's like one of the great achievements in the history
[56:22] Speaker 2: of the sport, right?
[56:23] Speaker 1: Yep.
[56:24] Speaker 2: And then you know what happened because it's going to happen, right?
[56:28] Speaker 2: And with Brunson, I'm telling you, he's no more than
[56:33] Speaker 2: six feet tall. And you can– there's a literal ceiling
[56:38] Speaker 2: to how far he can carry a team. Right. Because
[56:42] Speaker 2: Dyson Daniels is really good. Those guys, CJ is wily good.
[56:46] Speaker 2: And they can make it hard on him if the
[56:52] Speaker 2: whole team is locked in, especially at home. And so
[56:56] Speaker 2: to me, it's just him or bust.
[57:00] Speaker 1: It's who they are.
[57:00] Speaker 2: It's how they were made. And that's their fiber and
[57:04] Speaker 2: their character and their backbone is him. And I do
[57:09] Speaker 2: like his backbone more than I like Carl Anthony's backbone.
[57:13] Speaker 1: You know his... You can't say that on... No. He's
[57:18] Speaker 1: two for two, Skrill. He's two for two. He said
[57:21] Speaker 1: a backbone. Like his backbone? We give him a pass, bro.
[57:29] Speaker 1: This is season one, man. Season one, he good. He
[57:33] Speaker 1: with us now. He with us. You with us, man.
[57:35] Speaker 1: We let you go. Let him go. He cool. Bronson
[57:38] Speaker 1: Dunn hit some clutch shots, though. He hit... He had
[57:40] Speaker 1: a lot of questions.
[57:41] Speaker 2: No, he always does.
[57:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, he always does. I just thought about that, yeah. Well,
[57:45] Speaker 1: you say, like, is it better off with who's leading
[57:49] Speaker 1: the team? I don't think Cat has ever been the driver. No.
[57:54] Speaker 5: I don't think we've seen him in the driver's seat.
[57:57] Speaker 5: They tried it, though. They tried it. When he was,
[58:01] Speaker 5: he wants to shoot the three. He wants to shoot
[58:03] Speaker 5: the three more than he wants to do what you
[58:05] Speaker 5: said he's efficient at, which is imposing his will. on
[58:09] Speaker 5: the defense, being aggressive, driving those bigs. This shouldn't be
[58:13] Speaker 5: a series where Cat doesn't dominate, similar to Joel Embiid
[58:17] Speaker 5: against the Boston Celtics, where you got two bigs you
[58:19] Speaker 5: know can't guard you. Nobody on this front court is
[58:23] Speaker 5: fucking with me. So I should, Jalen Brunson, and the
[58:27] Speaker 5: rest of y'all should be rallying around my mismatches. And
[58:32] Speaker 5: we should be imposing our will, showing different Different elements
[58:38] Speaker 5: of our team, different dimensions of our team. We only
[58:42] Speaker 5: show one dimension, which is Jalen Brunson and what he does.
[58:46] Speaker 5: But the other dimensions, as far as Cat being able
[58:48] Speaker 5: to mid-post, pick and pop, drive to the lane, throw
[58:52] Speaker 5: it in the post.
[58:53] Speaker 1: He floats around a three-to-one.
[58:54] Speaker 5: He do too much of the other shit that doesn't
[58:58] Speaker 5: make me feel comfortable giving you the keys and say, hey,
[59:00] Speaker 5: drive this.
[59:01] Speaker 4: But we can't force leadership on a lot I think
[59:07] Speaker 4: we try to force Cat to be a leader, and
[59:09] Speaker 4: he's not that. He's not the guy that's going to...
[59:12] Speaker 4: And it's a lot of people like that. KD, he's
[59:15] Speaker 4: not that.
[59:15] Speaker 1: Not the driver. Yeah, not the driver. But they just
[59:17] Speaker 1: got game. Yeah, can't deny their game. Can't deny their game.
[59:21] Speaker 1: But they take that as a slight, like we're trying
[59:23] Speaker 1: to be disrespectful. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's like, bro, you're.
[59:26] Speaker 5: Showing us we can't let you drive this bitch. Who's
[59:29] Speaker 5: driving this bitch? Stevie Wonder?
[59:31] Speaker 3: I mean, he is the highest paid player on the roster, though.
[59:33] Speaker 1: So with that bread, doesn't that become the responsibility? But
[59:36] Speaker 1: would he be if Brunson don't take the deal he took? Yeah.
[59:39] Speaker 5: Brunson took the deal he took for flexibility. It ain't
[59:41] Speaker 5: got nothing to do with how he's played because he.
[59:43] Speaker 1: Would be, right?
[59:44] Speaker 3: He would be in the neighborhood, but Brunson, third highest
[59:46] Speaker 3: paid player on the team behind OG and Inobi, just
[59:51] Speaker 3: keeping score. But now that we're here, let's shift to
[59:53] Speaker 3: the Hawks real quick before we move on. So the
[59:55] Speaker 3: series now returns to Atlanta. Hawks facing elimination. Hawks starters
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: have had a negative rating in each of the five
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: games in the series so far. Benches had to come
[1:00:05] Speaker 3: up big. Jonathan Kaminga has been hit or miss, but
[1:00:07] Speaker 3: had some great games in the series.
[1:00:08] Speaker 2: Yep.
[1:00:09] Speaker 3: So what do the Hawks need to do if they
[1:00:10] Speaker 3: want to keep this series alive? Skip, you seem to
[1:00:13] Speaker 3: think that the Hawks are going to take this game
[1:00:15] Speaker 3: six to force a game seven?
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: Obviously, you just have to make more threes. You shot
[1:00:21] Speaker 2: 13 of 42 last night from three, and you've got
[1:00:24] Speaker 2: to get the home crowd in it. So in the
[1:00:26] Speaker 2: first quarter, you need to make four threes in the
[1:00:29] Speaker 2: first quarter and get that crowd going because it's a
[1:00:32] Speaker 2: good crowd, and it'll be ready, and they just need to–
[1:00:39] Speaker 2: the whole pregame locker room focus should be we're going
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: to make somebody else beat us. Let's take Jalen Brunson
[1:00:48] Speaker 2: out of this. Let's jump double him every time, hard
[1:00:51] Speaker 2: double him, and see if somebody else can beat us
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: at our house. That's what I'm doing. I'm just, I'm
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: daring somebody else to beat us because I'm just not
[1:01:02] Speaker 2: sure they're capable of beating us. And They just have
[1:01:06] Speaker 2: to be ready to play because they didn't care. They
[1:01:09] Speaker 2: just looked like from the start that they were sleepwalking,
[1:01:12] Speaker 2: and I don't know why. But we see this in
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: these playoff series where a team just doesn't show up,
[1:01:19] Speaker 2: and then it goes home, and it looks like somebody else.
[1:01:22] Speaker 2: And I think they'll look like somebody else because you
[1:01:26] Speaker 2: need that Tyrese Maxey thing in you where you're going
[1:01:30] Speaker 2: to get 10 rebounds at 6'2, or whatever you are.
[1:01:34] Speaker 2: That's what they need. They got shamed on the backboards, 48-27.
[1:01:40] Speaker 2: You just need to take this personally and say, not
[1:01:42] Speaker 2: in our house. Just play harder than the Knicks play.
[1:01:47] Speaker 4: I think they're going to play better. Just young, being
[1:01:50] Speaker 4: at home, playing in front of your home crowd. And
[1:01:53] Speaker 4: I like what Atlanta is doing now. You see some
[1:01:55] Speaker 4: of the same, similar stars at the game now. I
[1:01:59] Speaker 4: like they're embracing the culture of Atlanta.
[1:02:01] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
[1:02:03] Speaker 4: And they just got to muck it up, make the
[1:02:04] Speaker 4: game ugly a little bit. Atlanta like to win through chaos,
[1:02:08] Speaker 4: I feel like, because getting them rattled, making them sub
[1:02:13] Speaker 4: bridges out, making him look crazy.
[1:02:15] Speaker 1: Going after mismatches.
[1:02:18] Speaker 4: Going after mismatches. And that's how they pull things out.
[1:02:23] Speaker 4: Just continue to do what they do. Make them rattle.
[1:02:26] Speaker 1: Rattle New York up. Get Towns.
[1:02:30] Speaker 4: Putting his hands up all day like, ain't gonna do this.
[1:02:35] Speaker 1: So after all that. After all that.
[1:02:39] Speaker 5: Skip, you said they need more three-point shooting, right? They
[1:02:42] Speaker 5: got Buddy Hill sitting on the bench.
[1:02:44] Speaker 1: They do. Kispert sitting on the bench.
[1:02:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, they got in late last night.
[1:02:48] Speaker 1: They got, they do got Buddy Hill. Buddy and Kispert
[1:02:53] Speaker 1: both shooting.
[1:02:54] Speaker 5: Well, let's just say, um, Kispert is shooting 35%. And
[1:03:05] Speaker 5: there's someone else on there that's actually pretty good at
[1:03:10] Speaker 5: the three.
[1:03:11] Speaker 1: Rishashay. Oh, yeah. He's shooting 36.
[1:03:14] Speaker 2: He's falling out of the rotation.
[1:03:15] Speaker 1: Completely out.
[1:03:16] Speaker 5: So Quinn Snyder needs to reevaluate what that changed.
[1:03:20] Speaker 1: DMPs. DMPs for sure. On three.
[1:03:23] Speaker 5: I think Dyson Daniels at this point is a liability.
[1:03:28] Speaker 1: He's not shutting down anybody.
[1:03:32] Speaker 5: He's actually out there not taking shots in the middle
[1:03:35] Speaker 5: of the floor.
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: They're daring him.
[1:03:37] Speaker 1: They're daring him to shoot it.
[1:03:39] Speaker 5: And I don't think that your defensive pressure and your
[1:03:42] Speaker 5: defensive availability.
[1:03:44] Speaker 1: Is changing the game. Yeah.
[1:03:46] Speaker 5: When we need points and we need three point shooting.
[1:03:48] Speaker 5: So I'm subbing like you got three point guards essentially
[1:03:52] Speaker 5: between Daniels McCullough and Alexander Walker in the starting lineup.
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: So is he a pointer?
[1:03:59] Speaker 2: It's just, he's a two, right?
[1:04:01] Speaker 5: He's just one of those dual guards that you can,
[1:04:05] Speaker 5: you can throw in and he plays defense, but he
[1:04:09] Speaker 5: plays fast too.
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: But you got Nikhil and you got CJ.
[1:04:13] Speaker 5: CJ is a defensive liability, but he's a veteran, savvy,
[1:04:19] Speaker 5: experienced guard that can play both. But when you need shooting,
[1:04:23] Speaker 5: like you're saying, And you got Jalen Johnson out there.
[1:04:25] Speaker 5: He's not playing the central role he was playing in
[1:04:28] Speaker 5: the beginning of the season, which was point forward.
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: He's now just playing forward. Yeah. Yeah.
[1:04:33] Speaker 5: Okongwu, he's not– I've never been sold on him because
[1:04:40] Speaker 5: I know he's a very solid player.
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: He plays his position well. He can shoot it. He
[1:04:44] Speaker 1: can stretch it. He can– Just solid. Solid. Just solid.
[1:04:47] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:04:49] Speaker 5: But if he's not giving you what you need, right,
[1:04:53] Speaker 5: you got to play either small and fast or you
[1:04:57] Speaker 5: got the other big kid.
[1:05:03] Speaker 4: Is Towns too big for Jalen Johnson?
[1:05:07] Speaker 1: I've been saying Johnson should be guard. That's what I'm
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: about to say. If you go small.
[1:05:11] Speaker 5: But they play Towns and Robison together.
[1:05:17] Speaker 1: Oh, yes. That's what they've been doing. They've been playing
[1:05:19] Speaker 1: them together.
[1:05:20] Speaker 5: So it puts Johnson on Robinson and Kaminga and one
[1:05:24] Speaker 5: of those guys on Towns.
[1:05:25] Speaker 1: That's why he goes to the post.
[1:05:27] Speaker 5: But if you need three point shooting, Buddy Hill, Rishashay
[1:05:31] Speaker 5: and Kispert need to be playing more minutes so that
[1:05:35] Speaker 5: they can get out more microwavable points. because you're not
[1:05:38] Speaker 5: going to win with this particular lineup.
[1:05:40] Speaker 1: It's proven. You had a good game with McCullough. Played great.
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: He gave you a game. Gave you a game.
[1:05:47] Speaker 5: And then you got Kaminga, and those guys came off
[1:05:49] Speaker 5: the bench and gave you another.
[1:05:50] Speaker 1: Game to get you 2-1.
[1:05:53] Speaker 5: Now you done lost two straight, and now it's kind
[1:05:55] Speaker 5: of like, well, we need to change something. We can't
[1:05:58] Speaker 5: keep playing the same way. So where's the offense going
[1:06:01] Speaker 5: to come? Especially when you got a guy like Buddy Hill.
[1:06:03] Speaker 5: Make or miss, he can get hot.
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: I'm going to give you a picture. Man. Picture moment.
[1:06:08] Speaker 5: He can definitely give you some picture shit for sure.
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: For sure.
[1:06:11] Speaker 5: And if you're not taking advantage of that, Gabe Vincent
[1:06:14] Speaker 5: shouldn't be on the floor.
[1:06:15] Speaker 1: Say they win. Say New York win.
[1:06:19] Speaker 2: I've seen him in the NBA finals.
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: When do the second round start?
[1:06:22] Speaker 4: Say New York win and Boston win, both game sixes.
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: When do? I prefer the next couple days. On Saturday.
[1:06:28] Speaker 1: This weekend. It'll be this weekend.
[1:06:30] Speaker 5: That's what's going to happen then. This weekend, they're going
[1:06:33] Speaker 5: to finish it up. Boston, New York, Saturday or Sunday.
[1:06:36] Speaker 1: Really? I think they stretch it out. They got to.
[1:06:41] Speaker 1: They got to. Ratings, storylines. They can't have everybody go seven.
[1:06:47] Speaker 3: New TV, new streaming TV, that's why you got to
[1:06:50] Speaker 3: make these games compelling.
[1:06:52] Speaker 1: Can't go seven every round.
[1:06:54] Speaker 4: Can't go seven every round and the final's going to
[1:06:57] Speaker 4: be a.
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: Nasty game.
[1:07:00] Speaker 5: It's going to be stretched out. It's going to be
[1:07:04] Speaker 5: Lakers going seven.
[1:07:05] Speaker 1: OKC walk through versus Nuggets going to go seven. They
[1:07:12] Speaker 1: got to go.
[1:07:14] Speaker 4: OKC chilling right now. Then they play the Lakers next.
[1:07:20] Speaker 4: May have Austin Reeves back.
[1:07:21] Speaker 1: May not.
[1:07:22] Speaker 5: That's why you got to stretch it so that Luka
[1:07:24] Speaker 5: and them have more time to heal.
[1:07:25] Speaker 1: We may not see Luka. You got to stretch it
[1:07:27] Speaker 1: to seven. There's no other choice. That's what I'm saying.
[1:07:32] Speaker 1: No other choice.
[1:07:33] Speaker 4: If you don't, they're going to be chilling again.
[1:07:35] Speaker 1: Chilling again. That's what I'm saying.
[1:07:36] Speaker 3: Four games out of here. Well, let's shift over to
[1:07:40] Speaker 3: the Western Conference. Spurs handed the Blazers back-to-back losses in
[1:07:44] Speaker 3: games three and four without and with Wimby, overcoming a
[1:07:47] Speaker 3: 15-point deficit in game three, 19-point deficit in game four
[1:07:51] Speaker 3: to post double-digit wins in both of those games. Series
[1:07:54] Speaker 3: return back to San Antonio for game five. It took
[1:07:56] Speaker 3: a team effort. from the Spurs to clinch the series
[1:07:59] Speaker 3: with a gentleman's sweep. Let's take a look at the highlights,
[1:08:03] Speaker 3: if we can please. Spurs shot 67% from the field
[1:08:06] Speaker 3: in the first half, jumping out to a 20-point lead
[1:08:10] Speaker 3: at the break. Their defense was also impressive, holding the
[1:08:12] Speaker 3: Blazers at 35% shooting in the game, 23% from distance.
[1:08:16] Speaker 3: Six San Antonio players scored in double figures in this one.
[1:08:19] Speaker 3: De'Aaron Fox followed up his 28-point performance in Game 4
[1:08:22] Speaker 3: with a team-high 21 points along with nine assists. Wimby
[1:08:26] Speaker 3: stuffed the stat sheet yet again, putting up 17 points
[1:08:28] Speaker 3: on five of seven shooting, along with 14 rebounds and
[1:08:31] Speaker 3: six blocks. Wimby, first player with consecutive games with 10-plus
[1:08:35] Speaker 3: rebounds and six-plus blocks since Hakeem in 1997. Julian Champagny
[1:08:40] Speaker 3: had his best game of the series, going five for
[1:08:42] Speaker 3: seven from deep and finishing with 19 points. Spurs, up
[1:08:47] Speaker 3: 21 entering the fourth quarter, but the Blazers tried to
[1:08:49] Speaker 3: rally in the final frame, going on an 11-0 run.
[1:08:52] Speaker 3: to cut the deficit to single digits. But De'Aaron Fox
[1:08:55] Speaker 3: had 13 in the final frame, including a stretch where
[1:08:58] Speaker 3: he scored nine straight for the Spurs. to keep the
[1:09:00] Speaker 3: game out of reach of the Spurs going to win
[1:09:04] Speaker 3: their first playoff series since 2017. We'll now await the
[1:09:08] Speaker 3: winner of the Nuggets-Wolves series. Said they needed him in
[1:09:16] Speaker 3: the clutch. Needed him to be the go-to guy in
[1:09:19] Speaker 3: that occasion. We can see Wimby with that block. His
[1:09:21] Speaker 3: father also very impressed.
[1:09:22] Speaker 1: Get out of here. By that. Both sharing a smile
[1:09:28] Speaker 1: during the game.
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: So Wimby and his teammates were emotional on the bench
[1:09:33] Speaker 3: at the end of this game. And the alien had
[1:09:35] Speaker 3: this to say about winning his first career playoff series.
[1:09:38] Speaker 5: Yeah, when Mitch shoved everybody out, I saw all y'all
[1:09:41] Speaker 5: have just a moment at the end of the bench.
[1:09:44] Speaker 1: Why so much emotion after that?
[1:09:48] Speaker 8: Because it feels like a step past a step well done,
[1:09:52] Speaker 8: you know? And I'm personally happy to see things are
[1:09:58] Speaker 8: moving forward and in the right direction.
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: Moving forward in the right direction.
[1:10:02] Speaker 3: So Skip, what did we learn about the Spurs in
[1:10:05] Speaker 3: their first playoff series win in the Victor Wimbinyama era?
[1:10:12] Speaker 2: Man, they look invincible to me. They have a closer
[1:10:20] Speaker 2: who a year ago was chosen, voted most clutch in
[1:10:24] Speaker 2: De'Aaron Fox, and he was really good last night because
[1:10:27] Speaker 2: they were in a bit of trouble, it felt like,
[1:10:30] Speaker 2: last night when it got down to nine, and he
[1:10:32] Speaker 2: just said no. And they have the ultimate eraser, obviously,
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: in the alien who swatted Abdi a shot, out of
[1:10:44] Speaker 2: the gymnasium, you know, like it went completely out through
[1:10:47] Speaker 2: the window and out into the street. I don't think
[1:10:49] Speaker 2: I've ever seen a more forceful block than that one
[1:10:53] Speaker 2: that was launched. If there's a record length of a
[1:11:00] Speaker 2: block shot, that would have maybe set the all-time NBA
[1:11:04] Speaker 2: record for length of travel of block shot. And.
[1:11:11] Speaker 1: Yet, as.
[1:11:13] Speaker 2: As excited as they were, because a lot of them
[1:11:16] Speaker 2: are just playing their first playoff series, and as impressive
[1:11:19] Speaker 2: as they are, and with the national media just going
[1:11:24] Speaker 2: crazy for Wimby because he's such a draw and he's
[1:11:27] Speaker 2: going to fuel the ratings from here on, and it
[1:11:31] Speaker 2: feels like the national media is driving the bandwagon as
[1:11:36] Speaker 2: Spurs are the favorite now, and yet and still, I
[1:11:42] Speaker 2: looked at the odds, the Las Vegas betting odds, right here,
[1:11:46] Speaker 2: right now, and Oklahoma City remains a prohibitive favorite. I mean,
[1:11:52] Speaker 2: a runaway favorite, because Oklahoma City is minus 130 right now.
[1:11:58] Speaker 2: Boston is the second favorite in Las Vegas. Yeah. at
[1:12:01] Speaker 2: plus 490, and San Antonio is third at plus 550.
[1:12:06] Speaker 2: So Vegas just keeps screaming back at all the hype, no, no, wrong.
[1:12:15] Speaker 2: It's still thunder, thunder, thunder, even though the Thunder are
[1:12:21] Speaker 2: without their all-star co-star in Jalen Williams, and it's scary, man.
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: And I just don't know. He played 33 games in
[1:12:31] Speaker 2: the regular season. Now he's played two out of four
[1:12:33] Speaker 2: playoff games. And I don't know if he's going to
[1:12:35] Speaker 2: be in game shape with his hamstring pull on the
[1:12:39] Speaker 2: other leg in time for what shapes up as the
[1:12:43] Speaker 2: conference finals. And I don't know. Without him at full
[1:12:47] Speaker 2: strength and full shape strength, I just don't know if
[1:12:52] Speaker 2: they can withstand the firepower that this team displayed against Portland.
[1:12:59] Speaker 2: and obviously they beat Oklahoma City four out of five times,
[1:13:04] Speaker 2: but they beat the Thunder three times in 12 days
[1:13:09] Speaker 2: very early, and just for the record, what happened in
[1:13:13] Speaker 2: those three games was that Shea Gilgis-Alexander in those three
[1:13:19] Speaker 2: losses shot three of 17 from three and then preceded
[1:13:24] Speaker 2: to shoot 39% from three for the season, which was
[1:13:27] Speaker 2: his career high. So he just had three really bad
[1:13:31] Speaker 2: games in three days. And maybe it's because of Stephon
[1:13:35] Speaker 2: Castle and people getting up in him in ways that
[1:13:40] Speaker 2: others can't. And yet that was the story of those games.
[1:13:44] Speaker 2: And if you look at Wimby's performance against the Thunder
[1:13:46] Speaker 2: this year, he played all five games. He just blocked
[1:13:50] Speaker 2: a shot a game. So actually in the five games,
[1:13:54] Speaker 2: Oklahoma City blocked more shots than San Antonio. It was
[1:13:57] Speaker 2: 31 to 24 team blocks. And Wimby had six. So
[1:14:01] Speaker 2: he had six last night against Portland. He had six
[1:14:03] Speaker 2: in five games against the Thunders. So they play against
[1:14:07] Speaker 2: him pretty well. And because SGA just seemed to get
[1:14:10] Speaker 2: better and better down the stretch, that he's so good
[1:14:14] Speaker 2: in the clutch himself, by the way, over the last
[1:14:18] Speaker 2: 14 games that he's played in the fourth quarters, he's
[1:14:22] Speaker 2: made 16 of 17 shots in the fourth quarter. So
[1:14:25] Speaker 2: he's just, like, ridiculously clutch. So Vegas is just saying, okay,
[1:14:30] Speaker 2: we see that. But no, no, it's still all about
[1:14:36] Speaker 2: the thunder. And I don't think you're going to agree
[1:14:39] Speaker 2: with that.
[1:14:39] Speaker 5: No, because, I mean, Vegas has never really been right
[1:14:43] Speaker 5: when they picked the first pick. The first winners, right?
[1:14:45] Speaker 5: The first winners when OKC won it all, Vegas wasn't
[1:14:48] Speaker 5: favoring OKC to win it. It wasn't favoring Denver to
[1:14:51] Speaker 5: win it. It wasn't favoring Milwaukee to win it.
[1:14:54] Speaker 1: It wasn't favoring Boston to win it.
[1:14:58] Speaker 2: Last year, I think the Thunder, I think they were
[1:15:01] Speaker 2: favored all year long.
[1:15:02] Speaker 1: Not against Denver, really.
[1:15:05] Speaker 5: I think once the playoffs hit, it was up in
[1:15:08] Speaker 5: the air based on Ant-Man and all of the different
[1:15:10] Speaker 5: teams on the West that were playing well. But once
[1:15:14] Speaker 5: they got to a certain point, it was like, okay.
[1:15:16] Speaker 4: Did they have Denver over Minnesota before Ant-Man got hurt?
[1:15:19] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So Vegas to me is iffy.
[1:15:24] Speaker 5: But I look at the potential matchup in a mature
[1:15:29] Speaker 5: aspect now. The maturity aspect for Chet Holmgren, when he
[1:15:33] Speaker 5: played against Wimby in those early games, those five.
[1:15:37] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:15:38] Speaker 5: That was a personal matchup. And you got to think
[1:15:40] Speaker 5: about that matchup from this standpoint. Wimby's coming off of
[1:15:44] Speaker 5: injury and he's on a menace restriction. This was his
[1:15:48] Speaker 5: first game against this team. We beat y'all five times.
[1:15:54] Speaker 5: So much has changed since then. What are you talking about?
[1:15:57] Speaker 5: Even more mature SGA, a more mature roster as far as. Caruso, Wallace,
[1:16:03] Speaker 5: all of those guys, Joe, Isaiah Joe, all those guys
[1:16:06] Speaker 5: are now playing with confidence, even Jalen Williams.
[1:16:09] Speaker 1: And A.J.
[1:16:09] Speaker 2: Mitchell has assumed the co-star role.
[1:16:11] Speaker 5: Now he has to go back because, remember, even then
[1:16:14] Speaker 5: he was co-star while Jalen Williams was down.
[1:16:16] Speaker 1: He was.
[1:16:17] Speaker 5: And so now what I look at now is how
[1:16:21] Speaker 5: San Antonio has to, with the mature approach, say, we're
[1:16:25] Speaker 5: not the same team. They're not the same team. We
[1:16:29] Speaker 5: have a more mature Wimby. who understands that I'm not
[1:16:32] Speaker 5: taking it personal against him now. We need to take
[1:16:35] Speaker 5: it personal against them now. And this is us against them,
[1:16:39] Speaker 5: not me against him.
[1:16:40] Speaker 1: And I think.
[1:16:41] Speaker 5: Castle was taking it personal with SGA. I think those
[1:16:44] Speaker 5: guys were really wanting to shut him down. But like
[1:16:46] Speaker 5: you said, SGA without Jalen Williams... It's tough on him
[1:16:52] Speaker 5: because now we have three guys that we can center
[1:16:54] Speaker 5: around SGA. Those guys are going to hit shots. Wallace
[1:16:59] Speaker 5: and Dort, they're going to hit their open shots.
[1:17:02] Speaker 1: We can depend on that.
[1:17:03] Speaker 5: But when you look at Keldon Johnson, you look at Harper,
[1:17:10] Speaker 5: you look at the utility guys for the Spurs outweigh
[1:17:14] Speaker 5: the utility guys for the OKC. And I'm looking at
[1:17:18] Speaker 5: when this matchup happens... You say to yourself, who's going
[1:17:22] Speaker 5: to be the outliers? Who's going to be the utility
[1:17:25] Speaker 5: guy that takes us over the top outside of Wimby
[1:17:27] Speaker 5: and SGA? And it's got to be De'Aaron Fox. There's
[1:17:31] Speaker 5: no other matchup for you that should stop you. And
[1:17:34] Speaker 5: it should be Champagny. That 19 points you had, that's
[1:17:39] Speaker 5: what I always say about them. Him and Harrison Borns
[1:17:42] Speaker 5: has to have good games every game, whether it's.
[1:17:45] Speaker 1: 15, 19, 13.
[1:17:45] Speaker 5: You got to give me some double digits and we
[1:17:48] Speaker 5: got to have some type of energy from you. But
[1:17:50] Speaker 5: this particular matchup, I see San Antonio taking it there,
[1:17:55] Speaker 5: but I don't see OKC bowing down. I don't see
[1:17:58] Speaker 5: them not showing up at full capacity when it comes
[1:18:01] Speaker 5: to Chet being more mature.
[1:18:04] Speaker 1: He has actually looked very locked in.
[1:18:06] Speaker 5: He looks like a totally different player than he was
[1:18:08] Speaker 5: when he was playing against Wimby then. And I think
[1:18:10] Speaker 5: that that should be the one thing that they should
[1:18:13] Speaker 5: lean on is, Chad, you got to give us more
[1:18:17] Speaker 5: in these matchups.
[1:18:18] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:18:18] Speaker 5: And Lou Dort and all you guys, I know you're
[1:18:21] Speaker 5: going to be heroes, but.
[1:18:22] Speaker 3: I mean, even without Jalen Williams, though.
[1:18:24] Speaker 1: I like the Spurs.
[1:18:26] Speaker 4: They look like they sent the message for, like, we
[1:18:29] Speaker 4: not the future we right now in this, but playing
[1:18:33] Speaker 4: against OKC or any team other than the Blazers, you
[1:18:38] Speaker 4: can't be down like that. You're not going to be
[1:18:39] Speaker 4: able to come back from sixth... Down 16 or something
[1:18:42] Speaker 4: like that versus OKC. You're playing the Blazers, a playing
[1:18:46] Speaker 4: team at the end of the day. But I do
[1:18:49] Speaker 4: see this. They can't get past. I feel like they
[1:18:51] Speaker 4: can get to the finals, but I don't feel like
[1:18:55] Speaker 4: they're going to win it this year. I feel like
[1:18:57] Speaker 4: New York or Boston would be a better team.
[1:19:00] Speaker 2: You think they would beat San Antonio?
[1:19:02] Speaker 5: No.
[1:19:03] Speaker 1: I think for sure Boston would beat San Antonio.
[1:19:05] Speaker 2: Well, the Knicks beat them in the.
[1:19:06] Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking, yeah.
[1:19:08] Speaker 4: I just don't feel like they- Mature enough yet, but
[1:19:13] Speaker 4: it's just showing that the future is going to be
[1:19:15] Speaker 4: through San Antonio.
[1:19:16] Speaker 1: You just don't like Wimby, man. I love Wimby. You
[1:19:19] Speaker 1: love Wimby now. He's a liar. I made Wimby him.
[1:19:22] Speaker 1: He's a liar. He was a lunchtime boss. Why we
[1:19:24] Speaker 1: going to give him all the stuff now? Why we
[1:19:27] Speaker 1: got to go... Get it in the future. Why can't
[1:19:30] Speaker 1: he get it now?
[1:19:31] Speaker 4: Does he deserve it now? Yes, he does deserve it.
[1:19:34] Speaker 4: You can't deserve it averaging 20 and.
[1:19:37] Speaker 1: What? Because you got three blocks? No, because we were
[1:19:40] Speaker 1: predicted 11th.
[1:19:41] Speaker 4: We were predicted 11th.
[1:19:44] Speaker 1: Jalen Johnson doing similar things.
[1:19:45] Speaker 5: No, we were predicted 11th. We are number two.
[1:19:50] Speaker 4: We beat the number one team four times. We beat
[1:19:54] Speaker 4: the number one team. The Hawks wasn't supposed to be
[1:19:57] Speaker 4: number five?
[1:19:58] Speaker 1: No, you said the Hawks. Six. The Hawks don't have
[1:20:01] Speaker 1: this guy. But I'm just.
[1:20:04] Speaker 4: Saying, they look like They're ready, but when you look
[1:20:08] Speaker 4: at the games versus the Blazers, they was down, down
[1:20:11] Speaker 4: every game almost.
[1:20:12] Speaker 1: But we can't say the Blazers don't got good players.
[1:20:15] Speaker 1: But no, you can't. They was a playing team. They
[1:20:17] Speaker 1: got good players that can play. And if you don't.
[1:20:20] Speaker 4: Show up to play, they will whoop your ass. At
[1:20:23] Speaker 4: the end of the day, they was a playing team.
[1:20:25] Speaker 1: Of course.
[1:20:26] Speaker 4: And you're going against the number one seed that won
[1:20:29] Speaker 4: a championship, that's seen everything. You're going against a joker
[1:20:31] Speaker 4: that won a championship, seen everything.
[1:20:33] Speaker 5: And we beat y'all four times.
[1:20:36] Speaker 4: If Ant-Man's healthy, you're going against a team that been
[1:20:39] Speaker 4: to the Western Conference Finals. Them guys, they're not going
[1:20:44] Speaker 4: to let, like, okay, see what they did to Phoenix.
[1:20:48] Speaker 4: Show no mercy. That's what they had. You're going against
[1:20:51] Speaker 4: a team like that. Who are you talking about, the Blazers?
[1:20:54] Speaker 1: No. Phoenix and OKC. Yeah. I mean, they swept.
[1:20:58] Speaker 5: No, you're saying that you're going against a team like that.
[1:21:01] Speaker 5: You're saying we going against a team.
[1:21:03] Speaker 4: Yeah, you be going against a team that got championship pedigree.
[1:21:06] Speaker 4: They're not going to be down. They're not Boston where
[1:21:09] Speaker 4: they're going to shoot themselves. I've never seen OKC lose
[1:21:12] Speaker 4: a 20-point lead like that.
[1:21:13] Speaker 5: Yes, you have because you said that they was going
[1:21:16] Speaker 5: to win during the season. You said OKC going to
[1:21:20] Speaker 5: be dispersed by 20 this game. And guess what happened?
[1:21:23] Speaker 5: They lost by 20. But guess what happened?
[1:21:26] Speaker 4: They was the number one seed without their Scottie Pippen
[1:21:29] Speaker 4: or something.
[1:21:29] Speaker 3: 39-10 in the regular season without Jalen Williams. Two of
[1:21:33] Speaker 3: them in the postseason.
[1:21:35] Speaker 1: It's the reason why they rest in him right now.
[1:21:38] Speaker 1: But he was playing during that time. Because they know
[1:21:40] Speaker 1: that they trust their team.
[1:21:41] Speaker 4: Like, when you have that type of confidence in your
[1:21:44] Speaker 4: players and you've been there before, you're not rushing somebody back.
[1:21:48] Speaker 1: They're not the Lakers. They don't need to rush A.R. back.
[1:21:50] Speaker 4: They don't need to rush Ant-Man back. They know they're
[1:21:55] Speaker 4: They trust their players.
[1:21:56] Speaker 5: But you also know that when he does come back,
[1:21:59] Speaker 5: we've gotten our asses whooped with him on the team.
[1:22:02] Speaker 5: We don't matter him, with him, or without him. They
[1:22:05] Speaker 5: lost the teams last year.
[1:22:08] Speaker 1: Same way.
[1:22:08] Speaker 5: We're talking about this year. We're talking about early in
[1:22:10] Speaker 5: the year. Man, you got your ass whooped with our guy.
[1:22:14] Speaker 5: Now we're going to wait for him to get back
[1:22:16] Speaker 5: and still be with the same.
[1:22:17] Speaker 1: Excuse, he ain't fully healthy.
[1:22:19] Speaker 5: He's trying to return from the injury.
[1:22:21] Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck about none of that. Watch out.
[1:22:24] Speaker 1: You're down 16 to a point.
[1:22:25] Speaker 5: But we overcame it because as a team, when we
[1:22:30] Speaker 5: have our alien on the floor, what happens when we
[1:22:34] Speaker 5: have our alien on the floor when he actually knows
[1:22:36] Speaker 5: what to do to get us back into the game
[1:22:38] Speaker 5: when we dig ourselves a hole? Let's get together and
[1:22:41] Speaker 5: play defense one stop at a time. They are not
[1:22:43] Speaker 5: like that. They just made a run as a good team.
[1:22:46] Speaker 1: What's Shea going to do? Same thing. We can get
[1:22:49] Speaker 1: Shea in foul trouble. Wow. He can't guard those guys.
[1:22:55] Speaker 3: I mean, what did the Thunder do in the regular
[1:22:57] Speaker 3: season against this first squad? One and four, like Skip
[1:22:59] Speaker 3: pointed out. Smacked them. We were surprised by that. But
[1:23:02] Speaker 3: you talk about San Antonio being down in games three
[1:23:04] Speaker 3: and four at Portland. But game three without Wimby. The
[1:23:08] Speaker 3: fine cast will come with 33. Dylan Harper, 27.
[1:23:11] Speaker 1: Come on, man. I'm just saying, game four, they stepped up.
[1:23:15] Speaker 4: When did Portland become a team that we say, oh.
[1:23:18] Speaker 1: My God.
[1:23:19] Speaker 5: They beat over eight different teams this year that were
[1:23:22] Speaker 5: actually above, what, I think it was above 500?
[1:23:25] Speaker 3: I want to say the Blazers gave the Thunder their
[1:23:26] Speaker 3: first loss of the season, too, if I'm not mistaken.
[1:23:29] Speaker 5: They played a lot of good teams well this season, bro.
[1:23:32] Speaker 1: They're not a slouch.
[1:23:34] Speaker 5: They're... identity as a team doesn't really reflect their record.
[1:23:38] Speaker 5: They play better than their record actually shows, especially against
[1:23:42] Speaker 5: good teams, which is why they.
[1:23:44] Speaker 1: Play the dispersal. What did we say before, Skip?
[1:23:47] Speaker 5: We said that this particular series, the Blazers can go
[1:23:51] Speaker 5: get one or two.
[1:23:53] Speaker 1: Easily.
[1:23:54] Speaker 5: With or without. This was with Wimby. They can go
[1:23:58] Speaker 5: in there. They're pretty good.
[1:23:59] Speaker 4: The fact that he's saying that, I would have said
[1:24:01] Speaker 4: they couldn't get no games against OKC.
[1:24:04] Speaker 1: No way. The same thing as Phoenix. No way. Same
[1:24:07] Speaker 1: thing as Phoenix. No way.
[1:24:09] Speaker 5: They're a better matchup against OKC.
[1:24:11] Speaker 1: It would have been a sweep. On paper, they're a
[1:24:13] Speaker 1: better matchup.
[1:24:14] Speaker 2: What happened in the previous game at Portland, Portland's up
[1:24:17] Speaker 2: 17 and a half.
[1:24:19] Speaker 5: We get to go and recalibrate it in the locker room.
[1:24:22] Speaker 1: That's not happening against OKC. Yes, it is. It's happened.
[1:24:25] Speaker 1: I want them to be down 17.
[1:24:28] Speaker 5: We're not worried about OKC because we know what they got.
[1:24:31] Speaker 1: I'm just saying, not right now, they're not ready.
[1:24:34] Speaker 3: I had no problem with that. Regular season is a
[1:24:35] Speaker 3: regular season, though. There's the playoffs.
[1:24:37] Speaker 2: And Rashad, I got to defend SGA on one thing.
[1:24:40] Speaker 2: You say they can get him in foul trouble. He
[1:24:42] Speaker 2: did finish fifth in overall defensive win shares. And he
[1:24:46] Speaker 2: had two of his teammates finish ahead of him because
[1:24:48] Speaker 2: Chet was two and Case and Wallace was three. But
[1:24:52] Speaker 2: my point is... The wind shares say he is really
[1:24:56] Speaker 2: good on defense. Obviously, he's not taking the guy on
[1:24:59] Speaker 2: the other team because he's got Case and Walsh and
[1:25:02] Speaker 2: Caruso and Dort.
[1:25:04] Speaker 5: That's the same way with Luka Doncic's wind share would
[1:25:07] Speaker 5: be up too, right?
[1:25:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not top five.
[1:25:10] Speaker 1: It ain't top five. Because it's Luka.
[1:25:13] Speaker 5: Because Luka's notorious for not playing defense, right? But his
[1:25:18] Speaker 5: win share has increased based on him playing the worst
[1:25:21] Speaker 5: offensive player on the fucking floor. So I get the
[1:25:25] Speaker 5: stats look great, but we talking about when you got
[1:25:28] Speaker 5: a card, Stephon Castle.
[1:25:30] Speaker 1: When you gotta guard De'Aaron Fox. Let him shoot.
[1:25:33] Speaker 5: When you have to switch out and you have to
[1:25:35] Speaker 5: guard Wimby.
[1:25:37] Speaker 1: Let him shoot.
[1:25:38] Speaker 2: I mean, Castle can't shoot.
[1:25:39] Speaker 1: Let him shoot. It ain't about let him shoot. Yes,
[1:25:41] Speaker 1: it is. It's about stop me from driving. That's easy.
[1:25:45] Speaker 1: You can't. It ain't easy. Let him shoot. It ain't easy.
[1:25:48] Speaker 1: That's where you get your fouls. Why do you think
[1:25:50] Speaker 1: Lou Dort and them get actual fouls? Because they're playing defense.
[1:25:54] Speaker 1: If you don't get four... fouls a game as a
[1:25:57] Speaker 1: fucking basketball player, you're not putting any effort into playing defense. No,
[1:26:02] Speaker 1: who gets four fouls? Any effort. Who gets four fouls?
[1:26:04] Speaker 1: That means you're not playing defense.
[1:26:06] Speaker 2: No.
[1:26:07] Speaker 1: That means you're playing defense right.
[1:26:09] Speaker 5: If we're going at SGA, literally our game plan is
[1:26:12] Speaker 5: to make sure we take him out of the game.
[1:26:15] Speaker 1: That don't even sound right.
[1:26:17] Speaker 2: Who has the better defensive team between Oklahoma City and
[1:26:19] Speaker 2: San Antonio? San Antonio by far.
[1:26:21] Speaker 1: No, it's by far. That's what I'm saying, man. By far.
[1:26:24] Speaker 1: By far. All of our guards can play. And we're
[1:26:27] Speaker 1: not one-dimensional.
[1:26:28] Speaker 5: So when you talk about actually the dimensions of defense,
[1:26:33] Speaker 5: you don't just go out there chasing a bunch of
[1:26:34] Speaker 5: guys around and hacking them.
[1:26:36] Speaker 1: I sound like that. We're not doing that. I sound
[1:26:38] Speaker 1: like that. We're guarding. We're guarding. I sound like that.
[1:26:41] Speaker 1: We're playing with our hands high. I sound like that.
[1:26:44] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[1:26:45] Speaker 2: The defensive stats, defensive efficiency scream that Oklahoma City is
[1:26:50] Speaker 2: much better than San Antonio.
[1:26:51] Speaker 5: They're the number one team in the NBA. They have
[1:26:54] Speaker 5: all of these stats. But what does it say when
[1:26:56] Speaker 5: we beat.
[1:26:57] Speaker 1: Y'all four games to one? It didn't say nothing.
[1:27:01] Speaker 5: That defense didn't go glaring out of the fucking universe.
[1:27:05] Speaker 5: We were whooping your ass four ones. Where was the
[1:27:08] Speaker 5: defense then?
[1:27:08] Speaker 2: Okay, but you won three games in 12 days. Then
[1:27:12] Speaker 2: the next game at Oklahoma City, SGA played and killed you.
[1:27:15] Speaker 2: Just shot you out of the building.
[1:27:17] Speaker 1: We gave you that.
[1:27:18] Speaker 2: Then the fifth game, SGA did not play. So I'll
[1:27:20] Speaker 2: give you the first three in 12 days.
[1:27:22] Speaker 1: There you go. That's what it was. We'll take it. Yeah.
[1:27:24] Speaker 1: We'll take it. It was a while ago, though. We'll
[1:27:26] Speaker 1: take it. A while. We'll take it.
[1:27:28] Speaker 5: Nothing has changed on our– well, a lot has changed
[1:27:31] Speaker 5: on our side. A lot has changed.
[1:27:33] Speaker 3: You have won a playoff series. You do have Wimby now.
[1:27:35] Speaker 3: A little bit more battle tested.
[1:27:37] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:27:38] Speaker 1: And he's playing more minutes.
[1:27:39] Speaker 5: And we got a group of guys who are actually
[1:27:41] Speaker 5: bought into what he does for the team.
[1:27:43] Speaker 1: So I think it's going to be different. Let's talk
[1:27:45] Speaker 1: Wimby just a moment.
[1:27:47] Speaker 3: Impressive in his first career playoff series, becoming just the
[1:27:50] Speaker 3: fourth player in history with 80-plus points, 35-plus rebounds, and
[1:27:54] Speaker 3: 15-plus blocked shots in their first four playoff games, joining
[1:27:58] Speaker 3: David Robinson, Alonzo Mourning, and Tim Duncan, with Wimby being
[1:28:01] Speaker 3: the only one in that group to hit threes as well,
[1:28:03] Speaker 3: hit seven in this series. So after the Spurs series
[1:28:06] Speaker 3: clinching win, Shaq had high praise for Wimby on Inside
[1:28:09] Speaker 3: the NBA, calling him the first perfect big man that's
[1:28:13] Speaker 3: ever been created. Rashad, when you hear that, obviously, coming
[1:28:18] Speaker 3: from Shaquille O'Neal, one of the greatest big men of
[1:28:20] Speaker 3: all time, what are your thoughts on Shaq saying Wimby
[1:28:22] Speaker 3: is the perfect big man?
[1:28:24] Speaker 1: Perspective.
[1:28:26] Speaker 5: Shaq has given a very high-intensity perspective of what the
[1:28:31] Speaker 5: big man position entails, especially when you talk about being
[1:28:34] Speaker 5: able to have moves in the post, being able to be.
[1:28:39] Speaker 1: 7'6, being able to shoot free throws. That's what he
[1:28:40] Speaker 1: got to work on, though. No, he got them.
[1:28:44] Speaker 5: It's just about who he's down there with. He don't
[1:28:47] Speaker 5: have the body size yet. He got it all. He
[1:28:50] Speaker 5: can do it all. Yeah, to be able to handle
[1:28:52] Speaker 5: the ball as a big. Bigs always wanted to be
[1:28:54] Speaker 5: able to handle the ball. Bigs always wanted to be
[1:28:56] Speaker 5: able to dribble up and shoot threes. He can do
[1:28:59] Speaker 5: all of those things at a different rate than Joker
[1:29:02] Speaker 5: and Embiid. These are other two bigs that can do
[1:29:05] Speaker 5: the same thing. So you can't take out of context
[1:29:08] Speaker 5: the other two that do similar things. But Wimby is
[1:29:11] Speaker 5: moving at a different velocity. And when you can do
[1:29:15] Speaker 5: what he does, especially as far as passing, he's throwing lobs,
[1:29:18] Speaker 5: he's doing those things. And he's blocking shots and he's
[1:29:23] Speaker 5: changing people's idea of what it is to have a
[1:29:27] Speaker 5: good shot a layup or a dunk or three even
[1:29:30] Speaker 5: isolations on the perimeter you got to think twice about
[1:29:33] Speaker 5: it now and as a big i think shaq knows
[1:29:36] Speaker 5: more about that than anybody between him hakeem and david
[1:29:41] Speaker 5: david robinson and tim duncan these are all guys in
[1:29:44] Speaker 5: wimby's ecosystem that he.
[1:29:46] Speaker 1: Can reach out they put them at the center too
[1:29:48] Speaker 1: yeah this is this.
[1:29:49] Speaker 5: Is it is unheard of and for him to be
[1:29:53] Speaker 5: able to go out and work with these guys to
[1:29:56] Speaker 5: get more insight about the game and including KG to that,
[1:30:00] Speaker 5: that mix. You're talking about someone who's down the line
[1:30:03] Speaker 5: when he gets to muscle on him. When he comes
[1:30:06] Speaker 5: see me to get some of this muscle, get some
[1:30:09] Speaker 5: of this pushing, pushing this P around, you're going to,
[1:30:12] Speaker 5: you're going to be, you're going to be, he's going
[1:30:14] Speaker 5: to be the right way though, right?
[1:30:15] Speaker 1: It's going to be different. He's going to be different.
[1:30:18] Speaker 1: I promise you.
[1:30:19] Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, what you got?
[1:30:21] Speaker 4: Um, My thing with Winvey, when I say, why have
[1:30:25] Speaker 4: you given him everything so early? Because right now, I
[1:30:30] Speaker 4: call him a lunchtime baller. But right now, he's... He
[1:30:35] Speaker 4: got a lot of Goldberg in him right now.
[1:30:38] Speaker 1: Like, the goofiness. He do. He got a lot of
[1:30:40] Speaker 1: goofiness in him.
[1:30:41] Speaker 4: And once he become more like Giannis and get his
[1:30:44] Speaker 4: feet under him, get a little... That's when I feel
[1:30:46] Speaker 4: like he's going to dominate and have everything.
[1:30:49] Speaker 1: He's going to.
[1:30:50] Speaker 4: but right now he falls he got a lot of
[1:30:52] Speaker 4: goopy in him like he falls and hurt his face
[1:30:55] Speaker 4: can't put his.
[1:30:56] Speaker 5: Hands down but he does that though his feet like
[1:31:01] Speaker 5: he's lanky like he ain't got he's like Bambi still.
[1:31:05] Speaker 4: 7'5 Bambi you ain't never seen Bobby's world that's what
[1:31:08] Speaker 4: I'm saying but wait this is gonna happen it's gonna
[1:31:12] Speaker 4: happen when he gets stronger he get his feet under
[1:31:15] Speaker 4: start dominating dunking on people hunking people It's going to happen.
[1:31:19] Speaker 4: So right now, just because we haven't seen something like that,
[1:31:23] Speaker 4: and it's so early, I feel like we're rushing to
[1:31:27] Speaker 4: put things on him.
[1:31:29] Speaker 1: So would you say he's on the trajectory, though? Oh,
[1:31:31] Speaker 1: he's going to be the perfect big man. It's going
[1:31:33] Speaker 1: to be.
[1:31:33] Speaker 4: He's the guy that they're going to finally say better
[1:31:36] Speaker 4: than Jordan.
[1:31:36] Speaker 1: He's going to be that person.
[1:31:38] Speaker 4: Because they hate everybody else, but it's undeniably. You've got
[1:31:44] Speaker 4: to put him as one of the best players to
[1:31:45] Speaker 4: ever play this game. When it's all said and done.
[1:31:48] Speaker 4: But right now.
[1:31:50] Speaker 1: Right now what? He's Jordan. Right now we can't give
[1:31:53] Speaker 1: him nothing. He's Jordan against Boston. 63 in the garden.
[1:31:59] Speaker 5: He's between the legs. That's 63 in the garden. He's
[1:32:02] Speaker 5: winning playoff series though.
[1:32:03] Speaker 1: And he got swept. He's jumping doing this. And he
[1:32:05] Speaker 1: got swept that series. You know the four dribbles between
[1:32:09] Speaker 1: the legs? Do you remember what happened after that series?
[1:32:13] Speaker 5: Larry Bird said, we just played against Jesus.
[1:32:17] Speaker 1: That's what we're doing right now. Yeah. That's what we're doing.
[1:32:21] Speaker 1: What do you mean?
[1:32:21] Speaker 5: So that means we're giving him everything now. Was Jordan
[1:32:25] Speaker 5: MVP then? Why does he need to be MVP? We
[1:32:29] Speaker 5: just played against Jesus. And you're not making him MVP?
[1:32:32] Speaker 1: But that was after they had gave.
[1:32:34] Speaker 5: That was after. He made that statement in the playoffs.
[1:32:37] Speaker 4: But they've seen that all year. Bro, not that performance.
[1:32:40] Speaker 4: That performance was the performance. So only one performance made
[1:32:43] Speaker 4: him say that.
[1:32:44] Speaker 1: 63 in the garden against the Boston Celtics. He was
[1:32:46] Speaker 1: averaging 30 that year. Swaggy, Wimby, youngest defensive player of
[1:32:51] Speaker 1: the year in NBA history. Unanimous.
[1:32:53] Speaker 3: First unanimous defensive player of the year.
[1:32:55] Speaker 5: Come on.
[1:32:56] Speaker 3: Or top three MVP candidate. It's a little different. It's
[1:33:00] Speaker 3: a little different, bro.
[1:33:03] Speaker 1: Like I said, they're giving him everything. And you got to.
[1:33:08] Speaker 1: Are they giving him it or is he taking it?
[1:33:09] Speaker 1: Is he not taking it? I don't feel like he's
[1:33:13] Speaker 1: taking it.
[1:33:15] Speaker 5: They would have gave him the player of the year,
[1:33:17] Speaker 5: his rookie year and his second year.
[1:33:20] Speaker 1: They would have gave him that if that was the case. Realistically,
[1:33:23] Speaker 1: do we deserve to be in the MVP race? Yes.
[1:33:26] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Realistically. Who are you putting in
[1:33:30] Speaker 1: front of him? Realistically. Who are you putting in front
[1:33:33] Speaker 1: of him? How much he average? Now you're talking about average.
[1:33:36] Speaker 4: That's what we're talking about. You can't do that for
[1:33:38] Speaker 4: him and not do it for Boston.
[1:33:40] Speaker 1: Yes, you can. Blew everybody out. He was averaging more points. Yes,
[1:33:44] Speaker 1: you can. You can't do that for him. Donovan Mitchell.
[1:33:47] Speaker 1: 25-12 in three blocks, right? 25-12, three blocks. Yes. Bro.
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: And Jalen Brown averaging down to 30. Donovan Mitchell was
[1:33:54] Speaker 1: averaging 28. With a less team.
[1:33:56] Speaker 5: Donovan Mitchell was averaging 28.
[1:34:02] Speaker 1: But that's the thing.
[1:34:02] Speaker 3: But according to the Square Media Swaggy, Wimby had the
[1:34:05] Speaker 3: greatest defensive season.
[1:34:06] Speaker 1: That's why he deserved that. He deserved that.
[1:34:10] Speaker 5: But that don't make you MVP. He's mentioning right now
[1:34:15] Speaker 5: the total stats of the total game.
[1:34:18] Speaker 1: Defense don't make you MVP. No, it don't. No, it don't.
[1:34:21] Speaker 1: But the combination. The combination. No, the combination.
[1:34:29] Speaker 5: Makes you an MVP candidate. It makes you an MVP candidate.
[1:34:33] Speaker 5: The combination of Tim Duncan being able to give you
[1:34:36] Speaker 5: 24 and 12 in his third season.
[1:34:41] Speaker 1: Gave him the right to be considered an MVP candidate.
[1:34:49] Speaker 4: Number one without his co-star and he's still.
[1:34:53] Speaker 1: Fighting for MVP. Yes, he's still fighting for MVP. That
[1:34:56] Speaker 1: don't make sense for me. It does. It should. It doesn't.
[1:34:59] Speaker 5: Because then you would say, well, why isn't Luka the
[1:35:01] Speaker 5: fucking MVP? Because Luka has all the stats. He has
[1:35:05] Speaker 5: better stats than the guy you talking about. The guy
[1:35:08] Speaker 5: you talk about, Luka Doncic has better all-around stats than him,
[1:35:12] Speaker 5: except for defensive windshare.
[1:35:14] Speaker 1: That's it. So why is Luka not even in there?
[1:35:16] Speaker 1: You just said defense was one of the main things.
[1:35:18] Speaker 1: Go ahead, man.
[1:35:19] Speaker 5: But you're talking about just offensive stats. You said you
[1:35:22] Speaker 5: can't put him in there because he's 25 and 12
[1:35:24] Speaker 5: and 4.
[1:35:25] Speaker 1: That ain't good enough.
[1:35:26] Speaker 5: But Luka Doncic leads the league in scoring. He's averaging
[1:35:30] Speaker 5: eight rebounds, eight assists, and he has better stats.
[1:35:33] Speaker 1: Than the guy you talk about. He's wimpy on offense.
[1:35:36] Speaker 1: Why are you not? He's wimpy on offense. But why
[1:35:37] Speaker 1: are you not giving him MVP? He should be in there.
[1:35:41] Speaker 1: Why is he not? Wimby. No, it ain't Wimby. And
[1:35:45] Speaker 1: it's another thing. Wimby, top five in what? Defense, top
[1:35:50] Speaker 1: 20 in offense. And? Luka, top five in offense, top
[1:35:55] Speaker 1: 20 in defense. And? What's the difference? So you're saying
[1:35:59] Speaker 1: defense is better than offense?
[1:36:01] Speaker 5: Well, we're going to go with the metric that you
[1:36:04] Speaker 5: use when you talk about SGA. You said we're number one.
[1:36:08] Speaker 5: He's top five in each category. He's top five in offense.
[1:36:13] Speaker 5: This is your argument, Nick. Your argument goes, but we're number.
[1:36:17] Speaker 1: One in the league.
[1:36:18] Speaker 4: He's number one and he's top five in both defense
[1:36:21] Speaker 4: and offense.
[1:36:23] Speaker 1: And he's fighting. Luka is number what? What is the Lakers? Four? Three? Three. Three.
[1:36:29] Speaker 5: Spurs is two. SGA and the Thunder are number one.
[1:36:34] Speaker 5: The only reason you got SGA being the number one
[1:36:38] Speaker 5: candidate is because they're the number one team, bro.
[1:36:42] Speaker 1: That's it.
[1:36:43] Speaker 5: If the Thunder was number four, SGA wouldn't be in
[1:36:47] Speaker 5: the conversation because he's not number one. And then we
[1:36:51] Speaker 5: would propel whoever's number one, the reason why he's getting
[1:36:53] Speaker 5: them because he's number one.
[1:36:55] Speaker 1: That's the criteria.
[1:36:57] Speaker 2: Hey, but wait a second. Better stats than SGA?
[1:37:01] Speaker 1: Luka.
[1:37:02] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:37:02] Speaker 1: Offensive stats.
[1:37:04] Speaker 2: Okay. Luka led the league in turnovers.
[1:37:06] Speaker 1: That's one.
[1:37:07] Speaker 2: He shot 36% from three. SGA shot 39% from three.
[1:37:12] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:37:14] Speaker 2: Luka's a horrible free throw shooter and SGA is not.
[1:37:17] Speaker 2: That's like a 10% gap there.
[1:37:20] Speaker 1: Right? Who gets to the line more?
[1:37:22] Speaker 2: He shot more free throws and SGA for the third
[1:37:25] Speaker 2: straight year led the league in free throw makes. shooting
[1:37:28] Speaker 2: fewer free throws a game.
[1:37:30] Speaker 1: How many fewer? One? One fewer?
[1:37:32] Speaker 5: 0.5 fewer? 0.5 fewer. You talk about those stats. All
[1:37:37] Speaker 5: I hear is Shea foul bait. You could say turnovers.
[1:37:41] Speaker 5: You could say X, Y, Z. But the numbers still
[1:37:44] Speaker 5: are glaring when you talk about actually rebounding, actually passing,
[1:37:49] Speaker 5: triple doubles, all of these different things every night.
[1:37:52] Speaker 2: What about mid-range jump shots in this league this year?
[1:37:56] Speaker 2: SGA led the league in mid-range jump shots, made 59%.
[1:38:00] Speaker 2: That's extraordinary to me.
[1:38:02] Speaker 5: Is it? Or if you could shoot step-back three-pointers, it
[1:38:06] Speaker 5: would be less extraordinary, right?
[1:38:07] Speaker 2: But he made 39%, and he's improved each of the
[1:38:10] Speaker 2: last 45 or so.
[1:38:10] Speaker 5: He's not shooting step-back three-pointers. He's shooting swing-swing three-pointers. Luka
[1:38:16] Speaker 5: Doncic is shooting step-back three-pointers, and he's not going down there,
[1:38:20] Speaker 5: you know, shooting the mid-range at that incredible rate.
[1:38:23] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:38:24] Speaker 2: Sga starting shoot step back he made him against phoenix.
[1:38:27] Speaker 1: Boy miss him against the spurs.
[1:38:30] Speaker 2: Okay but that was what.
[1:38:31] Speaker 5: Was that he missed them all against the spurs right
[1:38:34] Speaker 5: right that was the only time he missed and he
[1:38:36] Speaker 5: went on he went on yeah to shoot 39.
[1:38:40] Speaker 2: And he went on to okay allow me to say
[1:38:42] Speaker 2: about shaq I was shocked that he said what he
[1:38:46] Speaker 2: said about Wimby and a little disappointed in Shaq overreacting
[1:38:51] Speaker 2: because now the bandwagon is rolling because they realize Wimby
[1:38:55] Speaker 2: is going to fuel the ratings and they think as
[1:38:59] Speaker 2: I think you do, SGA is just boring people. He
[1:39:03] Speaker 2: just doesn't capture the imagination. I don't know why.
[1:39:06] Speaker 1: We've caught on.
[1:39:06] Speaker 5: We've had this conversation before. We've caught on to what
[1:39:09] Speaker 5: he does. We're watching it in real time.
[1:39:13] Speaker 2: You think he's a free throw merchant, right?
[1:39:15] Speaker 5: No, I just think that what he does, we can
[1:39:18] Speaker 5: see it now. It's not anything... Incredible. We can say.
[1:39:23] Speaker 1: That the team... Bro.
[1:39:26] Speaker 5: You can say all that shit like we ain't never
[1:39:28] Speaker 5: seen that shit before. We watched guys score 30 points
[1:39:31] Speaker 5: in this league before.
[1:39:33] Speaker 1: That's great. But we see how he's doing it. Then
[1:39:37] Speaker 1: we see how he's doing it. That is the.
[1:39:40] Speaker 5: Part that separates the... Praise from the criticism. How you
[1:39:45] Speaker 5: do it as a hooper.
[1:39:47] Speaker 1: As an audience.
[1:39:49] Speaker 5: For fans and audience members, it's cool. You're like, man,
[1:39:52] Speaker 5: don't hate on them.
[1:39:54] Speaker 1: As a hooper, when.
[1:39:55] Speaker 5: You're watching, you're like, that's nasty, man. You don't have
[1:39:59] Speaker 5: to do it that way. And he does it the
[1:40:02] Speaker 5: best that way.
[1:40:03] Speaker 2: Okay, but have you ever... in all your time watching basketball,
[1:40:07] Speaker 2: seen a finesse player get to the rim more easily
[1:40:11] Speaker 2: than SGA does consistently because he led the league in
[1:40:14] Speaker 2: shots at the rim.
[1:40:15] Speaker 1: Allen Iverson, Tony Parker.
[1:40:17] Speaker 2: Okay, not like this. This is 6'5, 6'5, and he
[1:40:21] Speaker 2: snakes through. He just constantly getting to the rim. He
[1:40:24] Speaker 2: led the league in shots at the rim, and that's
[1:40:26] Speaker 2: how he's scoring 30 a game.
[1:40:28] Speaker 1: You know why?
[1:40:29] Speaker 5: We have to let you go because if we get
[1:40:32] Speaker 5: close to you, and sneeze on you, it's a fucking foul.
[1:40:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, because he's the reigning MVP and he earned that.
[1:40:38] Speaker 1: So before that, he was still getting fouls.
[1:40:40] Speaker 5: Before he was the reigning MVP, he was still a
[1:40:43] Speaker 5: guy who knew how to get fouled, just like James Harden.
[1:40:46] Speaker 5: We've seen guys do it before, but this guy has
[1:40:49] Speaker 5: figured out that the whistle is more important than the
[1:40:52] Speaker 5: game itself because the whistle stops the play It accumulates points.
[1:40:57] Speaker 5: It allows everyone to participate in the entertainment of the game.
[1:41:01] Speaker 5: That's a different story. That's why Jalen Brown was complaining
[1:41:05] Speaker 5: about it. It's like, why shouldn't I do what he's doing?
[1:41:08] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:41:09] Speaker 5: My points per game can go up based on me
[1:41:12] Speaker 5: manipulating the.
[1:41:13] Speaker 1: Game to get fouls. Why not do it? Everyone should
[1:41:17] Speaker 1: do it. That's what I'm saying.
[1:41:18] Speaker 5: But is that the ethical part of the basketball that
[1:41:21] Speaker 5: Wimby talks about?
[1:41:22] Speaker 1: When we talk about, hey, man, when.
[1:41:24] Speaker 5: You're a hooper and you're playing and every single player
[1:41:27] Speaker 5: that you play against is out here foul baiting, it's crazy.
[1:41:30] Speaker 1: Crazy. That's crazy.
[1:41:32] Speaker 5: If you whoop somebody's ass and they tell you, but
[1:41:34] Speaker 5: you didn't do it ethically, they still going to... No,
[1:41:35] Speaker 5: it ain't about doing it ethically, bro. It's not about
[1:41:38] Speaker 5: doing it... You didn't ethically whoop my... Hey, bro, that's
[1:41:41] Speaker 5: some soft ass shit. That's like playing against Duke and
[1:41:44] Speaker 5: they always down there trying to take the charge instead
[1:41:48] Speaker 5: of trying to block the shot. It's like, come on, JJ,
[1:41:50] Speaker 5: get your ass up. You just glamorized.
[1:41:52] Speaker 4: You said step back threes, but he lead the lead
[1:41:55] Speaker 4: in fouls, right?
[1:41:57] Speaker 1: Fritos. Nobody say nothing about it.
[1:42:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, Luca.
[1:42:01] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Yeah, we do. Yes, we do.
[1:42:03] Speaker 1: Nobody talk about Luca. Yes, we do. Luca is a
[1:42:07] Speaker 1: foul baiter. Brunson is a foul baiter. Denny Abia is
[1:42:11] Speaker 1: a foul baiter. Joker is a foul baiter. Embiid is
[1:42:14] Speaker 1: a foul baiter. That's all you want to hear, bro.
[1:42:17] Speaker 1: Open your ear. No, it's not.
[1:42:19] Speaker 3: Jalen Brown finished sixth in free throw attempts per game,
[1:42:21] Speaker 3: but not a foul better.
[1:42:22] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[1:42:23] Speaker 5: He turned it up in the tail end of the season.
[1:42:27] Speaker 5: After he got off his stream, he was like, you
[1:42:29] Speaker 5: know what? I'm going to start doing that. I'm going
[1:42:31] Speaker 5: to start doing that.
[1:42:32] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:42:33] Speaker 2: So back to Shaq saying that Wimby's the perfect big man.
[1:42:37] Speaker 2: So what is Shaq's pet phrase? What is he known for?
[1:42:41] Speaker 2: That's barbecue chicken, right? You take somebody down low and
[1:42:44] Speaker 2: you just cook them. like they're barbecue, right? I don't
[1:42:49] Speaker 2: see that yet from Wimby. I think I will at
[1:42:51] Speaker 2: some point. I don't see, I see the lob dunks.
[1:42:56] Speaker 5: You don't want to see the new barbecue chicken. You
[1:42:59] Speaker 5: still in Kentucky fried chicken. We got a whole new
[1:43:02] Speaker 5: chicken shack. The chicken shack is out in the perimeter.
[1:43:05] Speaker 5: When you bring your ass.
[1:43:06] Speaker 1: Out here now. Oh, you vegan chicken. Oh, man. You
[1:43:09] Speaker 1: a mushroom. No. You a fried mushroom. It's tofu. You tofu. Yeah,
[1:43:13] Speaker 1: with barbecue sauce on it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come out here.
[1:43:15] Speaker 1: here now. You don't put no calories on here.
[1:43:19] Speaker 2: On offense, we opened the show talking about Joel Embiid,
[1:43:23] Speaker 2: and he said after the game, inside he said, nobody
[1:43:27] Speaker 2: can stop me. That is the God's truth. When he
[1:43:30] Speaker 2: decides to play, nobody can stop him because his post
[1:43:34] Speaker 2: game is miles better at this moment than Wimby's post game. 100%.
[1:43:38] Speaker 2: Because he's just bigger and stronger. He weighs 300 pounds.
[1:43:42] Speaker 5: He comes from a conventional... lineage of big man. He
[1:43:46] Speaker 5: went to Kansas where he had no idea about a
[1:43:50] Speaker 5: fucking jump shot or anything. Bill Self and those guys,
[1:43:54] Speaker 5: they had to teach him how to be a big man.
[1:43:58] Speaker 5: wimpy does not have that.
[1:43:59] Speaker 2: I mean he thinks he's a two guard because that's
[1:44:02] Speaker 2: that's what he.
[1:44:02] Speaker 4: Learned i'm shocked y'all putting him as a center i
[1:44:05] Speaker 4: thought y'all would make him a.
[1:44:05] Speaker 5: Powerful regardless of where we put him his size and
[1:44:09] Speaker 5: his skill says i'm creating a new position this is
[1:44:13] Speaker 5: not old conventional put you on the block he wasn't
[1:44:16] Speaker 5: saying it about bobo no we're saying bobo was a
[1:44:20] Speaker 5: three hmm So Wimby is a three that can play
[1:44:25] Speaker 5: a four, five because he knows how to play defense.
[1:44:28] Speaker 1: Not because he has post moves in the post.
[1:44:31] Speaker 5: Not because he does jump hooks and none of that.
[1:44:33] Speaker 5: He actually has ball handling skills. He shoots it off
[1:44:37] Speaker 5: of one foot from the three point.
[1:44:39] Speaker 1: But that's the goal. He don't have no post moves.
[1:44:42] Speaker 1: You don't need them. do no one plays in the
[1:44:45] Speaker 1: post it's easy no one plays in the post.
[1:44:49] Speaker 4: Nobody can guard you when you do.
[1:44:51] Speaker 5: This obviously so why wouldn't i shoot threes so why
[1:44:54] Speaker 5: so when i shoot the three it's the.
[1:44:55] Speaker 4: Same thing do i gotta be to be bored of
[1:44:58] Speaker 4: doing this and just dunking on somebody.
[1:45:00] Speaker 5: He does a lot more is more than two bro
[1:45:03] Speaker 5: i'm shooting one leg threes that's shooting one legged three
[1:45:08] Speaker 5: this is this is What are you talking about?
[1:45:11] Speaker 1: That's why he just said the perfect big man. I
[1:45:13] Speaker 1: can shoot threes off one leg. What are you shooting
[1:45:16] Speaker 1: this year? 36%.
[1:45:21] Speaker 4: He's going to be a three-point shooter. He's just going
[1:45:23] Speaker 4: to be a three-point shooter.
[1:45:24] Speaker 1: 35% from three. Come on, man. Are you serious? That's
[1:45:26] Speaker 1: what you want him to be? Serious? 83% from the line.
[1:45:28] Speaker 4: I would love my 76 guys to be out there
[1:45:30] Speaker 4: at the three-point line.
[1:45:31] Speaker 1: 51% from the line. Come on, bro.
[1:45:33] Speaker 2: Didn't he cut down on his threes a lot this year?
[1:45:36] Speaker 1: He did.
[1:45:36] Speaker 2: Way down.
[1:45:37] Speaker 1: 5.5 attempts.
[1:45:38] Speaker 5: I think he was in the 10 range last season.
[1:45:41] Speaker 5: So why can't that be considered perfect? For a big.
[1:45:44] Speaker 2: Well, he's clearly the perfect defensive big man because we
[1:45:47] Speaker 2: never see anything like this, right? So I give you
[1:45:50] Speaker 2: that part, but I don't get the offense.
[1:45:52] Speaker 5: Oh, it's because you want to compare it to the
[1:45:54] Speaker 5: actual Shaq and all the conventional traditional bigs.
[1:45:59] Speaker 1: And the game has evolved from that.
[1:46:01] Speaker 5: We can't use that metric as comparison to him because
[1:46:04] Speaker 5: he's evolved from get on the block, throw me the
[1:46:07] Speaker 5: Carl Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid.
[1:46:10] Speaker 1: We want to compare him to that. He got a
[1:46:11] Speaker 1: lot of Carl Anthony Towns in him. He got a
[1:46:13] Speaker 1: lot of Carl Anthony Towns in him.
[1:46:15] Speaker 5: How much weight does he need to gain for us
[1:46:17] Speaker 5: to say, now get in the post?
[1:46:19] Speaker 1: Talk to Wimpy. I mean, talk to the Greek. Yeah.
[1:46:23] Speaker 1: Why is Greek not considered a conventional term? Next level big.
[1:46:28] Speaker 1: Shaq said he was the most dominant player.
[1:46:30] Speaker 5: How many post-ups do Giannis actually take per game? Or
[1:46:35] Speaker 5: does he take it off the dribble?
[1:46:39] Speaker 4: Man all right all right people down all right now
[1:46:42] Speaker 4: what did.
[1:46:42] Speaker 5: Yannis had to develop for him to be able to
[1:46:44] Speaker 5: be effective with dribbling the ball past guys and dunking
[1:46:47] Speaker 5: it he had to put on muscle not just to
[1:46:50] Speaker 5: be down there back and down it was oh if
[1:46:52] Speaker 5: i'm gonna really get past these guys let me put
[1:46:54] Speaker 5: some muscle on now they really can't.
[1:46:56] Speaker 1: Stop me from getting there that's what.
[1:46:57] Speaker 5: He's still not playing conventional five He's still not playing
[1:47:01] Speaker 5: conviction before.
[1:47:02] Speaker 2: Here's the point. In Shaq's day, would Drew Holiday have
[1:47:05] Speaker 2: ever guarded Shaquille O'Neal?
[1:47:07] Speaker 1: No. Seriously. But you have no choice but to switch off. No,
[1:47:12] Speaker 1: you wouldn't. You have no choice but to switch off.
[1:47:14] Speaker 5: But we've seen Caruso guard Jokic.
[1:47:15] Speaker 1: I'm just saying, but those guys that play on the perimeter,
[1:47:18] Speaker 1: I mean, thank you, Joe.
[1:47:19] Speaker 5: We've seen Caruso guard Joker. We've seen Draymond Green guard Embiid.
[1:47:26] Speaker 1: What did I just say?
[1:47:27] Speaker 4: No, I said you can't do what you do with Embiid.
[1:47:30] Speaker 4: You can't put Derek White on Embiid.
[1:47:32] Speaker 1: No. I said that. I said you can't do that
[1:47:35] Speaker 1: like they do with Caruso and all.
[1:47:36] Speaker 2: He'll just do this.
[1:47:37] Speaker 1: They're too strong. They're too big. Or they'll just double.
[1:47:41] Speaker 1: You need to. They double shake. You're double with me
[1:47:43] Speaker 1: if you did the same thing.
[1:47:44] Speaker 5: I don't have the body that Joel Embiid has, bro.
[1:47:48] Speaker 1: I'm not that big.
[1:47:49] Speaker 4: You're athletic and you're almost a foot taller than everybody.
[1:47:53] Speaker 1: That's why you can't switch a Drew Holiday.
[1:47:55] Speaker 4: When you lift your arm up and just jump, nobody's
[1:47:59] Speaker 4: going to touch that.
[1:48:00] Speaker 1: What does that have to do with me being thin?
[1:48:04] Speaker 1: What does that have to do with me being thin?
[1:48:05] Speaker 4: You can't get blocked. It's like you're playing against kids.
[1:48:08] Speaker 4: I can push you off the block, Nick. What are
[1:48:10] Speaker 4: you talking about? Right now, he should be... It's like
[1:48:14] Speaker 4: you're playing against kids. If you got them there, Drew
[1:48:18] Speaker 4: Holiday guarding you, and you can't... dunk the ball.
[1:48:20] Speaker 1: That says a lot right now. If Drew Holiday is
[1:48:23] Speaker 1: pushing me off the block. It don't matter.
[1:48:24] Speaker 5: Because I'm thin and I don't have no weight on me.
[1:48:27] Speaker 5: It doesn't matter whether I'm on the block or on
[1:48:30] Speaker 5: the perimeter.
[1:48:30] Speaker 1: When I jump and turn around. Exactly.
[1:48:33] Speaker 4: I'm right at the rim. Okay, if I'm right at
[1:48:35] Speaker 4: the rim. I can dunk the ball from down there anywhere.
[1:48:38] Speaker 1: Yes, Nick.
[1:48:40] Speaker 5: That's why I'm comfortable shooting the ball. Guess where I'm
[1:48:44] Speaker 5: comfortable shooting the ball?
[1:48:46] Speaker 1: From three. From anywhere. Anywhere.
[1:48:49] Speaker 5: I'm comfortable. I do not have to shoot the ball
[1:48:51] Speaker 5: where you want me to shoot it. I'm going to
[1:48:54] Speaker 5: shoot the ball where I want.
[1:48:55] Speaker 1: To shoot it. I don't see them winning right now
[1:48:56] Speaker 1: until he get that. Until he shoot where you want
[1:48:58] Speaker 1: him to shoot.
[1:48:59] Speaker 4: No, until he gets that dominance.
[1:49:01] Speaker 1: Like, Caruso guarding me. What the fuck? I'm out here
[1:49:05] Speaker 1: trying to do a step back 3-4. I could fix
[1:49:08] Speaker 1: it up. I'm going to dunk on him and show
[1:49:10] Speaker 1: him switch early. He did that. He did that. He
[1:49:13] Speaker 1: actually did that. He actually went down there and dunked
[1:49:16] Speaker 1: a couple times. Drew Holiday on me. He's done that.
[1:49:18] Speaker 4: Back to back dunk, switch early, get the big on me,
[1:49:20] Speaker 4: then I can step back and shoot a three.
[1:49:22] Speaker 1: When he get that understanding, that's crazy. I only got
[1:49:25] Speaker 1: a guard on me because I know you're going to
[1:49:26] Speaker 1: shoot step back.
[1:49:27] Speaker 5: Understanding coming from me, gaining weight, bro. You're still missing
[1:49:31] Speaker 5: the biggest element. If I'm thin and Caruso know it,
[1:49:34] Speaker 5: I could push this thin motherfucker off the block. There
[1:49:37] Speaker 5: ain't nothing Wimby's going to be able to do for
[1:49:39] Speaker 5: that until he gets more weight. Until then, I'm shooting
[1:49:42] Speaker 5: this bitch over top of y'all. Until y'all adjust, because
[1:49:45] Speaker 5: you can't adjust to that.
[1:49:46] Speaker 1: But why at the three-point line? Because I can make it.
[1:49:49] Speaker 1: I'm 35%.
[1:49:49] Speaker 4: If I'm at the block and I turn around and
[1:49:51] Speaker 4: do the same thing, it's down there 100%.
[1:49:54] Speaker 1: Yes, it's a greater percentage, bro. But if you're keeping
[1:49:57] Speaker 1: me from being down there.
[1:49:58] Speaker 4: But I'm saying he could do that. He could be
[1:50:00] Speaker 4: Wilt Chamberlain numbers.
[1:50:02] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:50:02] Speaker 1: Wilt Chamberlain numbers right now. That is true. Wilt Chamberlain numbers.
[1:50:05] Speaker 1: He could be Wilt Chamberlain if what? If he just
[1:50:10] Speaker 1: went down to the block? Yes. Right here. Every time.
[1:50:13] Speaker 5: So that means that everybody that's that tall.
[1:50:16] Speaker 1: Nobody's that tall. Nobody's that tall. Nobody's that tall. God damn.
[1:50:21] Speaker 1: Ain't nobody that tall. Boban. Boban. Boban was that tall, Nick.
[1:50:26] Speaker 1: Why the fuck wasn't Boban doing the shit? God.
[1:50:29] Speaker 2: Because he couldn't walk and chew gum.
[1:50:31] Speaker 5: Oh, I thought it was because you just got to
[1:50:33] Speaker 5: be big at the same time.
[1:50:34] Speaker 1: You can just throw the bitch up there. You're that big.
[1:50:36] Speaker 1: What about Taco Fall? Why the fuck wasn't he just
[1:50:38] Speaker 1: doing it? Why didn't they just put his big ass
[1:50:40] Speaker 1: down and throw it to him and let him do it?
[1:50:43] Speaker 1: Because it ain't that fucking easy. It ain't that fucking easy.
[1:50:46] Speaker 1: It ain't that easy.
[1:50:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know who the free throw merchant should be?
[1:50:50] Speaker 2: Is this guy. He should just He should just be
[1:50:54] Speaker 2: down there like, thank you, and three guys are on him,
[1:50:56] Speaker 2: and he can dunk standing still.
[1:50:59] Speaker 1: They don't give him fouls at all.
[1:51:02] Speaker 5: Imagine how frail he is, and all he has to
[1:51:05] Speaker 5: do is do this. Do what SGA does. Like you said,
[1:51:09] Speaker 5: he should be the free throw merchant. They don't give
[1:51:11] Speaker 5: him none of those fouls.
[1:51:13] Speaker 1: Do what SGA does. SGA does? Yes. Or Luka does? Both.
[1:51:17] Speaker 1: Who's the leading? Both. See how you go with it.
[1:51:20] Speaker 1: Combine them. Just wanted to point that out. Combine them.
[1:51:23] Speaker 1: Just wanted to point that out. Combine them. The Euros. Yeah.
[1:51:28] Speaker 2: You have Wimby as the MVP?
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: Yes, I do.
[1:51:32] Speaker 2: And SGA had a better year this year than he
[1:51:34] Speaker 2: had last year.
[1:51:34] Speaker 1: I don't want to hear all that better year shit.
[1:51:37] Speaker 1: You lost. I don't want to hear about that shit. Yeah.
[1:51:40] Speaker 1: Because Joker had a better year. Joker had a better year. Did.
[1:51:43] Speaker 5: That is true. And when Embiid had a better year.
[1:51:46] Speaker 1: He lost. Yeah.
[1:51:47] Speaker 5: So all that better year shit is out the window.
[1:51:50] Speaker 5: It's what we're having this year. This year, this guy,
[1:51:53] Speaker 5: when you look at the film, you look at the tape,
[1:51:55] Speaker 5: you roll it back. You say, man, how can you not?
[1:51:58] Speaker 5: He plays both sides of the ball at the highest rate.
[1:52:01] Speaker 2: Wait, didn't Joker beat Wimby like three out of four
[1:52:04] Speaker 2: times this year? I think he did.
[1:52:06] Speaker 1: Yeah. So wouldn't that matter if I beat SGA? I mean,
[1:52:10] Speaker 1: three out of three out of the wouldn't.
[1:52:12] Speaker 5: The same thing matter if he beat SGA?
[1:52:14] Speaker 1: Joker. Yes. Yeah.
[1:52:19] Speaker 5: I think Rudy Gobert should be MVP then, right? Because
[1:52:22] Speaker 5: Rudy Gobert been beating Jokers ass all series.
[1:52:25] Speaker 1: Tell me something I don't know. That means Denver going
[1:52:27] Speaker 1: to beat the Spurs then, right? Well, it just means
[1:52:28] Speaker 1: that Rudy Gobert should be the MVP. Is Denver going
[1:52:32] Speaker 1: to beat the Spurs? No. If you're going to buy
[1:52:33] Speaker 1: your lottery? No. Fuck no. They beat them three out
[1:52:36] Speaker 1: of four times. No.
[1:52:37] Speaker 4: And the Spurs be okay? You think they going to
[1:52:39] Speaker 4: be okay, C, because they beat them three out.
[1:52:41] Speaker 1: Of the four? I know they're going to be okay, C,
[1:52:42] Speaker 1: because they got a better team. Mm-hmm.
[1:52:44] Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: And Joker's tired.
[1:52:48] Speaker 5: Remember everybody said that Wimby's going to be tired because
[1:52:51] Speaker 5: he took the other route, right? You took the wrong route.
[1:52:53] Speaker 5: You're going to be tired by the time you get to... Okay,
[1:52:56] Speaker 5: somebody else is going to be tired when you get
[1:52:57] Speaker 5: to us.
[1:52:58] Speaker 1: That is.
[1:52:59] Speaker 5: You're going to be tired when you come... You got
[1:53:01] Speaker 5: to go guard me now. We know you're not going
[1:53:03] Speaker 5: to guard me. Aaron Gordon is going to guard me.
[1:53:05] Speaker 5: Somebody else is going to guard me.
[1:53:07] Speaker 1: But... Why would I guard you at the three-point line? Joker? Yeah.
[1:53:12] Speaker 1: Because you can't move your feet, motherfucker. So why would
[1:53:14] Speaker 1: I guard you at the three-point line? Well, you wouldn't
[1:53:16] Speaker 1: guard me at all.
[1:53:20] Speaker 2: So Rashad, remember Oklahoma City has game seven at home
[1:53:24] Speaker 2: against San Antonio, but I think you're saying it's not
[1:53:26] Speaker 2: going to get to game seven, right?
[1:53:28] Speaker 1: No. Oh, spicy take of the day. So what's going
[1:53:32] Speaker 1: to be, what is it? Spurs in five? Six. Six? Six.
[1:53:39] Speaker 1: You know six. Jordan.
[1:53:41] Speaker 9: Jordan numbers, baby. They're going to MJ them, okay. Oh,
[1:53:45] Speaker 9: I'm going to MJ them this way. Very spirited discussion today.
[1:53:49] Speaker 9: All right, so let's wrap up today with our playoff picks.
[1:53:52] Speaker 9: Throughout the postseason, we'll be making team picks.
[1:53:55] Speaker 1: Huh? You seen what LeBron said? You didn't see that?
[1:53:58] Speaker 1: What did he say? It was the GOAT. LeBron said
[1:54:01] Speaker 1: he'd go again? Yes. Again? I thought we was going
[1:54:04] Speaker 1: to talk about it. Again? Why do we have to
[1:54:06] Speaker 1: talk about things we already know? I'm tripping. Damn. You tripping.
[1:54:11] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. You know what? Let me shake
[1:54:13] Speaker 1: your hand on that one.
[1:54:14] Speaker 3: Thank you very much. We are SC and UCLA together
[1:54:18] Speaker 3: in perfect harmony. Now we're going to get into that tomorrow.
[1:54:21] Speaker 3: We got obviously Rockets-Lakers game six tonight. And five, excuse me.
[1:54:25] Speaker 3: After they win, it's even better.
[1:54:28] Speaker 1: You right.
[1:54:29] Speaker 3: LeBron and Bronny show. don't want to be accused of
[1:54:32] Speaker 3: glazing too heavily used on the Lord's Wednesday.
[1:54:37] Speaker 5: It's the shit in between the mouth that's already giving
[1:54:39] Speaker 5: it away. Y'all got that white shit in the middle
[1:54:42] Speaker 5: of your mouth, it's glazed automatically.
[1:54:44] Speaker 1: You got to move that shit out the way.
[1:54:46] Speaker 4: We got to break down barriers, man. We're breaking down
[1:54:49] Speaker 4: the barriers.
[1:54:49] Speaker 5: Excuse me, can you get this homeboy a napkin or
[1:54:51] Speaker 5: something over here? He's a little dripping over here on
[1:54:54] Speaker 5: his lip. Apparently do not retrieve a napkin. He is
[1:54:57] Speaker 5: merely and just. Merely and just.
[1:55:00] Speaker 3: Throughout the postseason, we're making team picks using underdogs prediction markets,
[1:55:04] Speaker 3: which you can do as well. We'll keep a leaderboard
[1:55:07] Speaker 3: of the Couch's picks throughout the entire playoffs. Let's take
[1:55:10] Speaker 3: a look at the updated standings through last night.
[1:55:14] Speaker 1: Oh, man.
[1:55:14] Speaker 3: Y'all didn't have my... That boy going. Shot currently 19-12
[1:55:19] Speaker 3: in the 31 games he's picked. Mr. B, Brandon Jennings,
[1:55:23] Speaker 3: 16-13 in the 29 games. He speaks Kenyan. Sitting at
[1:55:24] Speaker 3: 500 right now, 11-11 in the 22 games. He speaks Swaggy.
[1:55:26] Speaker 1: You done? After they didn't add my Orlando bet. Still
[1:55:34] Speaker 1: got a chance, bro. I picked Orlando over the Hornets.
[1:55:38] Speaker 1: They gave you the... You was at six. They gave
[1:55:41] Speaker 1: you seven. I won yesterday. We got to pick one team, bro.
[1:55:45] Speaker 1: You could have won more.
[1:55:46] Speaker 5: You don't even pick all the teams. That's your fault.
[1:55:50] Speaker 5: You could be 12 and 12 right now. I'm picking
[1:55:52] Speaker 5: Boston every time. You could be 12 and 12. I'm
[1:55:54] Speaker 5: going to end up winning the majority of the time.
[1:55:56] Speaker 5: Picking Boston every time.
[1:55:58] Speaker 1: Mm.
[1:55:59] Speaker 4: Mm.
[1:55:59] Speaker 2: Mm. Mm.
[1:56:01] Speaker 1: So if you're going to the finals, if you're going
[1:56:02] Speaker 1: to the finals, that means I'm winning the majority of
[1:56:05] Speaker 1: the time. Who's at the top?
[1:56:08] Speaker 5: I just asked you a question. I just asked you
[1:56:11] Speaker 5: a question. Who's at the top? Who's been at the top?
[1:56:14] Speaker 1: Who's having an MVP year? Who's having an MVP year
[1:56:18] Speaker 1: this year, Nick? Let's talk it. Who's having an MVP
[1:56:21] Speaker 1: year this year, Nick? Who's the real MVP, though? Huh?
[1:56:24] Speaker 1: Who's having an MVP year? Yeah. Yeah. MVP. MVP. MVP?
[1:56:33] Speaker 1: You don't mean MVP, though. It don't. Well, let's get
[1:56:35] Speaker 1: to it. It don't. Underdog playoff picks. I'm performing like
[1:56:38] Speaker 1: a motherfucker.
[1:56:39] Speaker 3: Using the underdog prediction marks to have a couple potential
[1:56:41] Speaker 3: closeout games tonight. Start in the West where the Lakers
[1:56:44] Speaker 3: have a shot to finish off the Rockets.
[1:56:46] Speaker 1: Not just a shot. More than a shot. More than
[1:56:48] Speaker 1: a shot. Okay. Two shots. No, I'm just kidding. No
[1:56:52] Speaker 1: Kevin Durant once again for Houston. Oh, man. Do we
[1:56:55] Speaker 1: know if Austin Reeves is playing or he being lazy?
[1:56:56] Speaker 1: I mean, it may be quick. I wouldn't play. LeBron,
[1:56:59] Speaker 1: it may be quick. You got billboards all throughout L.A.
[1:57:03] Speaker 1: Is that the narrative? Luke Kinnar stealing your shine. Luke
[1:57:05] Speaker 1: Kinnar may be the new limit daddy after this series.
[1:57:08] Speaker 3: Lakers have a 63% chance to win tonight according to
[1:57:11] Speaker 3: the underdog prediction markets. Rockets with a 30% chance to
[1:57:15] Speaker 3: stay alive. Jabari Smith Jr. said he still thinks the
[1:57:17] Speaker 3: Rockets are the better team in this series despite their 3-1,
[1:57:20] Speaker 3: being down 3-1.
[1:57:22] Speaker 1: Anybody thought that.
[1:57:24] Speaker 4: To the king changed people's minds.
[1:57:28] Speaker 1: Anybody can't get it. Lakers at home.
[1:57:31] Speaker 3: Will the Lakers advance to the Western Conference semifinals tonight
[1:57:34] Speaker 3: or the Rockets?
[1:57:34] Speaker 1: Rockets win this one. Yes, I'm glad. Swaggy. You already know.
[1:57:40] Speaker 1: To the king. Lake Show. Lakers at five. Jabari. Turnover. Well,
[1:57:48] Speaker 1: I ain't going to be here tomorrow to brag about it,
[1:57:49] Speaker 1: so it's all good. Jabari Tari. Jabari Tari. A Ferrari.
[1:57:53] Speaker 1: A Ferrari.
[1:57:55] Speaker 3: Lakers at five. Skip, how about you? Who you got tonight? Rockets, Lakers,
[1:57:59] Speaker 3: game five.
[1:57:59] Speaker 2: By the way, LeBron trying to make his goat case
[1:58:02] Speaker 2: over Michael Jordan is laughable. I just wanted to say
[1:58:05] Speaker 2: that for the record.
[1:58:06] Speaker 1: I just had to get that on the record. Thank you.
[1:58:09] Speaker 1: Just wait until our 20-part series comes out. Yeah, I know.
[1:58:11] Speaker 1: I got it. No more than Jordan.
[1:58:13] Speaker 2: The King and company will close it out tonight.
[1:58:17] Speaker 1: Way to go. Yeah.
[1:58:18] Speaker 3: Skip, do you mean that or are you trying to
[1:58:20] Speaker 3: jinx us? He's jinxing for sure. I felt it.
[1:58:22] Speaker 1: He's jinxing for sure. I felt it. He's jinxing for sure.
[1:58:25] Speaker 1: I felt the power. Give up your sleeve.
[1:58:27] Speaker 4: That whole power just down there took over.
[1:58:29] Speaker 2: Lakers by 20.
[1:58:30] Speaker 1: Oh, see, now he's fucking eating. Oh, yeah, yeah. See?
[1:58:32] Speaker 1: Let me cut this hand off. Yeah.
[1:58:34] Speaker 5: You got something up your sleeve. You don't know what
[1:58:37] Speaker 5: to do. Lakers go opposite of me. I'm picking this
[1:58:40] Speaker 5: and going there. So either one, you're going to go
[1:58:42] Speaker 5: with me or you're going to skip me.
[1:58:44] Speaker 1: Lakers is going to go down either way.
[1:58:45] Speaker 3: I don't know if I believe it, but okay, we
[1:58:46] Speaker 3: will take Skip at his word. Got the Lakers at night.
[1:58:49] Speaker 5: Oh, you gonna tell them what Brandon and them shit
[1:58:51] Speaker 5: was too? Because they got this shit in here.
[1:58:53] Speaker 1: Oh, wait. Brandon got Pistons, Lakers, and Cavs. Okay.
[1:58:58] Speaker 5: Mr. B, Pistons, Lakers, Cavs. And so do Kenyon. They
[1:59:01] Speaker 5: just copying each other. They just copy and pasting that shit.
[1:59:05] Speaker 3: Pistons, Lakers, Cavs. Pistons, Lakers, Cavs. For both of them.
[1:59:08] Speaker 3: All right, let's shift over in the East. In the
[1:59:10] Speaker 3: most shocking series of the playoffs so far, Orlando Magic
[1:59:13] Speaker 3: have a shot to pull off a massive upset. Send
[1:59:15] Speaker 3: home the top-seeded Detroit Pistons. Only four eight-seeds have taken
[1:59:18] Speaker 3: down a one-seed in the past 25 years. Last time
[1:59:21] Speaker 3: it happened, 2023, when the eight-seeded Heat took down the
[1:59:25] Speaker 3: one-seeded Bucs in five games. Tonight, Pistons heavy favorites to
[1:59:28] Speaker 3: keep the series alive. Detroit with a 77% chance to
[1:59:32] Speaker 3: win tonight. Magic with 23% to close out the series.
[1:59:36] Speaker 1: Swag, you start with you. Do the Pistons keep the
[1:59:37] Speaker 1: series alive? Don't be mad, I'm thinking.
[1:59:40] Speaker 4: Because I'm like, everybody's been losing this game six, so.
[1:59:45] Speaker 1: So you just want to. No, no, no. I know
[1:59:47] Speaker 1: what you're doing. You're smart. I'm thinking. You've been going
[1:59:51] Speaker 1: to class. It's 3-1 right now. It's 3-1 or 3-2? 3-2.
[1:59:56] Speaker 1: My bad.
[1:59:57] Speaker 2: 3-1.
[1:59:58] Speaker 5: 3-1.
[1:59:58] Speaker 1: 3-1.
[1:59:58] Speaker 2: 3-1.
[1:59:58] Speaker 1: Everybody's been losing that. Boston lost it. It's going to
[2:00:02] Speaker 1: go 3-4-2. The series is going to go 4-2. Who
[2:00:04] Speaker 1: do you got tonight, Magic or Pistons? It's going to
[2:00:05] Speaker 1: go 4-2. The Magic. Skip, who you on with, Magic
[2:00:08] Speaker 1: or Pistons?
[2:00:08] Speaker 2: God, I hate to go against the doctor over there.
[2:00:11] Speaker 1: Is it?
[2:00:12] Speaker 2: Listen, Detroit is a nine-and-a-half point favorite at home. They
[2:00:18] Speaker 2: won the East by four games. They're going to win
[2:00:20] Speaker 2: this game. They're just going to win it on pure pride.
[2:00:23] Speaker 1: Really?
[2:00:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll go pure pride.
[2:00:26] Speaker 1: This is only game five? I'm going Detroit. It's going
[2:00:29] Speaker 1: to go six. I'm going Detroit. Orlando in six.
[2:00:33] Speaker 3: And last but not least, finally staying in the East,
[2:00:34] Speaker 3: Toronto and Cleveland, taking both games on their home floor.
[2:00:38] Speaker 3: Series tied two games apiece.
[2:00:40] Speaker 1: I'm going Cleveland. Cleveland.
[2:00:43] Speaker 3: Cleveland, 76% chance to win game five tonight. Shout out
[2:00:46] Speaker 3: to AK on the pick. So Cleveland, Cleveland.
[2:00:50] Speaker 1: Cleveland.
[2:00:51] Speaker 3: Everybody believing in Cleveland. Who operating the smoke machine and
[2:00:54] Speaker 3: how come? Somebody back there.
[2:00:57] Speaker 1: There's some shit going on back there. Every time we
[2:01:00] Speaker 1: talk about Cleveland, some smoke come out there. There's somebody, man.
[2:01:05] Speaker 3: Cleveland, get a bigger market if you want more love
[2:01:08] Speaker 3: on this show. It's not up to me.
[2:01:10] Speaker 1: Change the color. Yeah, that series is nasty.
[2:01:13] Speaker 4: I don't like watching that at all, bro.
[2:01:17] Speaker 1: For sure. Shout out to everybody in the chat. Skip,
[2:01:20] Speaker 1: appreciate you as always. Thank you. I might be at
[2:01:23] Speaker 1: that Hawks game, though. Really? I might be at that
[2:01:26] Speaker 1: Hawks New York game. I might be there. Get some
[2:01:29] Speaker 1: lemon pepper? I ain't be there tomorrow. I ain't be
[2:01:34] Speaker 1: there tomorrow. Now, if you were in the building. Yeah.
[2:01:37] Speaker 1: I'm going to make my picks from the suite. Okay.
[2:01:39] Speaker 1: Or Magic City. One or the other.
[2:01:41] Speaker 2: What?
[2:01:43] Speaker 1: One or the other.
[2:01:44] Speaker 5: Lemon pepper. I need me some lemon pepper. I ain't
[2:01:46] Speaker 5: had a lemon pepper in a while. The suite or
[2:01:48] Speaker 5: the shake club.
